Marches Against ‘Sharia Law’ Nationwide
[NBCNEWS] Demonstrations against Islamic law led to arrests, tense confrontations and physical fights in some U.S. cities Saturday amid several rallies sponsored by ACT for America, which the Southern Poverty Law Center designates as an anti-Moslem hate group.

The "March Against Sharia" was scheduled to take place in more than 20 cities, including New York, Dallas and Atlanta, and was projected to be ACT for America's largest protest against Islam.

In some cities, the rallies were met by counter-demonstrators. Seven people were tossed in the calaboose
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
during demonstrations at the Minnesota State Capitol in St. Paul, but no injuries were reported, state police said.

In Seattle, police said officers deployed pepper spray to "break up a large fight" and arrested three near Occidental Park following the protests downtown.

At the end of the rally, a group returned to the park where the melee erupted, according to a police statement. Officers used pepper spray to disperse the crowd and arrested one woman and two men for obstruction, it added.

NBC affiliate KING 5 reported that hundreds of demonstrators had marched in downtown to support Moslems and confront a few dozen people who took part in the ACT for America demonstration at City Hall.

"We are not anti-Moslem. We are anti-radical Islam," said a March Against Sharia speaker outside City Hall, according to the station.

#2  Fun to watch gays marching in favor of gay killing, feminists marching in favor of female subjugation and "do your own thing, man" types marching in favor of "do OUR thing or DIE!"

#5  Excellent. Draw them out for all to see how the Left and the Islamists rub shoulders in their hatred for the US as they defend the indefensible.

#6  Indefensible, but that group which NBC News introduces as the one "which the Southern Poverty Law Center designates as an anti-Moslem hate group."

The 'balance' comes after the initial opinion has been formed - "We are not anti-Moslem. We are anti-radical Islam."

Somebody might have mentioned Sharia law is unconstitutional.

#7  "We are not anti-Moslem. We are anti-radical Islam," said a March Against Sharia speaker.

Sorry, but *no*.

There is no such thing as "radical Islam"--there is only *Literal* Islam. Those who are mistakenly referred to as "radicals" are merely doing the things there "holy" book *literally* tells them to do.

#8  Crusader lays it out. You can be "moderately moslem" about as much as you can be "kinda pregnant."

Paris prosecutor: Internet radicalized Notre Dame attacker
[IsraelTimes] Algerian man who lunged at officers with a hammer ’for Syria’ had IS manual for ’lone wolves,’ jihadist propaganda at his home.

The hammer-wielding man who attacked coppers patrolling in front of Notre Dame Cathedral appears to have radicalized himself through the internet and was unknown to French police and intelligence services, the chief prosecutor in Gay Paree said Saturday.

Francois Molins said the 40-year-old Algerian doctoral student is being charged with attempted murder in connection with a terrorist enterprise and crime of terrorist conspiracy.

One police officer was slightly injured in Tuesday’s attack.

The assailant -- crying out "This is for Syria!"-- was shot by police. He received hospital treatment for a shotgun injury to the torso.

Molins told a news conference Saturday that the man had the "profile of a neophyte" that counterterrorism services fear as much as holy warriors who are trained to carry out attacks.

"The terrorist threat today is shape-shifting. And this time we have been confronted by an internal threat ... individuals who want to carry out projects here when they have difficulties joining the war zones," Molins said.

Molins, who hasn’t identified the suspect by his full name, confirmed that he was an ex-journalist who was legally living in La Belle France as a student working on his doctoral thesis.
That would be Farid Ikken, the award-winning Algerian journalist who obtained Swedish citizenship by marrying a Swedish woman, then left her for a PhD program in Paris. He is also known as Massip Farid Ikken and Massip Farid.
Investigators who searched a student residence where he lived in the Gay Paree suburb of Cergy-Pontoise found a declaration of allegiance to the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group he filmed on the morning of the attack. He presented himself as a "soldier of the caliphate," prosecutors said.

They have also found a laptop and four USB sticks that included Islamic holy warrior propaganda, photos and videos referring to attacks in London, Gay Paree, Brussels and at a church in the French region of Normandy, and images of the war in Syria.

He also had a "lone wolves’ manual" compiled by IS, the prosecutor said.

The man described himself as a Sunni Moslem who started a "quite radical" religious observance about 10 months ago, Molins said.

The suspect bought the hammer and two kitchen knives, which were found on him after the attack, in a supermarket on March 27.

Molins said his family and friends didn’t notice signs of radicalization. He described the man as socially and psychologically "isolated."

Investigators haven’t established the existence of any contact between the man and people living in Syria and Iraq.

Iraq
Iran opposes ‘unilateral’ Kurdish independence plan in Iraq
[Iran Press TV] The Iranian Foreign Ministry has expressed Tehran’s opposition to a "unilateral" plan by Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdistan region to hold an independence referendum, stressing the importance of maintaining integrity and stability in the Arab country.

"The principal and clear position of the Islamic Theocratic Republic of Iran is to support Iraq’s territorial integrity and solidarity," Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi said on Saturday.

"The Kurdistan region is part of the Republic of Iraq," he added.

The Iranian spokesperson emphasized that "unilateral" decisions outside the national and legal framework and principles, particularly the Iraqi Constitution, would "only create new problems."

This is particularly important at a time when Iraq and the Middle East region are faced with "complicated conditions" and ill-wishers are hatching plots to prolong instability in the country, Qassemi added.

The president of Iraq's semi-autonomous Kurdistan Regional Government, Masoud Barzani, announced on Twitter on Wednesday that the northern territory would hold an independence referendum on September 25 not only in the three provinces that make up the Kurdish region but in the areas that are disputed by the Kurdish and the central Iraqi governments. However,
death is not the end. There remains the litigation over the estate...
the Iraqi government said in a statement on Friday that it would reject any unilateral move by Kurdish regional authorities to press for independence.

Gay Black Muslim argues for taxpayer-funded Muslim-only safe spaces, identifies as black before American
[ConservativeFiringLine] On Friday, Fox News’ Tucker Carlson interviewed Blair Imani, executive director of "Equality for HER," a group she founded in 2014 while attending college, about the idea of taxpayer-funded Muslim-only safe spaces similar to those sought by Muslims in Australia.

According to Fox News Insider:

An Australian Islamic group has proposed the creation of taxpayer-funded "safe spaces" for young Muslims.

The Islamic Council of Victoria (ICV), which says it represents 200,000 Muslims, claims the community is suffering mental health issues and other problems because of the widespread suspicion it faces over fears of radical Islamic terror.

The ICV said such forums would enable young people to safely express "inflammatory views that would cause trouble if voiced publicly."

On "Tucker Carlson Tonight," American Muslim Blair Imani, executive director of Equality for HER, explained why she thinks such safe spaces are a good idea.
Vid of interview at link. Bonus: Tucker pulls the "flush handle". It would be interesting to see how long a female, gay black muslim would last, say, in Helmand.
