Among the princes arrested by the Saudi authorities was the billionaire Talal bin Waleed, al-Arabiya TV reported on Sunday.
The apprehended princes were pictured at the Ritz Carlton on Monday, sleeping on side-by-side mattresses provided by the luxury hotel.
Photos of the imprisoned princes at the Ritz Carlton quickly went viral on Twitter and Facebook, today, as several users mocked not only the apprehended men, but also, the Saudi regime.

's anti-corruption purge has widened after one of the country's top businessmen was reportedly detained, accounts were frozen and a no-fly list was drawn up.
On Monday, Nasser bin Aqeel al-Tayyar, a board member at Saudi Arabia's biggest travel company, was reportedly added to the list detainees, which already included some of the country's most influential officials and entrepreneurs.
Among those detained are 11 princes, four ministers and several former ministers, in what is seen as an unprecedented crackdown that has shaken the kingdom.
The dramatic steps were the latest in a series of measures by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to assert power over the country and its previous leaders.
On Saturday, King Salman ...either the largest species of Pacific salmon or the current Sheikh of the Burnin' Sands, Cutodian of the Two Holy Mosquesand Lord of Most of the Arabians.... bin Abdulaziz Al Saud announced that his son, the crown prince, would oversee a newly formed anti-graft commission that would purge the country of corruption.
The anti-graft commission has uncovered evidence pointing at "widespread corruption", its president Khalid bin Abdulmohsen al-Mehaisen said in a separate statement.
"Saudi anti-corruption authorities... have worked painstakingly for three years to investigate the crimes in question," he added.
The information ministry on Sunday said the bank accounts of those arrested will be "frozen" and any assets related to the corruption cases will be registered as state property.
Here are some of the high-profile names swept up in the purge:
Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal
The 62-year-old flamboyant billionaire tycoon, ranked among the richest men in the world, was among those arrested in the crackdown. The Kingdom Holding Company -- in which the prince has a majority stake -- owns The Savoy in London, the Fairmont Plaza and the famed George V hotel in Paris.
Prince Miteb bin Abdullah
The 64-year-old son of the late king Abdullah was ousted as the head of the Saudi Arabian National Guard, an elite internal security force. He was once seen as a leading contender for the throne.
Waleed bin Ibrahim al-Ibrahim
He is a brother-in-law of the late king Fahd and owner of the Middle East Broadcasting Company (MBC), one of the most influential satellite networks in the Arab world. He was among those detained.
Prince Turki bin Abdullah
The son of the late Saudi king Abdullah and the former governor of Riyadh province was among those arrested.
Adel bin Mohammad Faqih
The minister of economy and planning, once the point man for the kingdom's sweeping economic reforms, was ousted from his post in favour of his deputy. He is the former mayor of the Red Sea city of Jeddah and previously also served as labour minister.
Ibrahim al-Assaf
One of those detained is Ibrahim al-Assaf, a former finance minister who this year represented King Salman at the G20 summit in Germany.

[ALMASDARNEWS] On Monday, the Sanaa-based Yemeni Government unveiled a brand new type of underwater missile which was manufactured by Houthi engineers and will be deployed to combat Saudi vessels that are spotted traveling through the Red Sea.
The torpedo, nicknamed Al-Manbab, is reportedly capable of hitting enemy ships from far away although its exact firing reach remains unknown for now.

Yemenis are now being collectively punished for the actions of a few Houthis.
The kingdom, which is currently leading a coalition of Sunni Arab states in bombing Yemen, said it was "immediately" closing off access to all of Yemen's ports after Houthi ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ... rebels fired a ballistic missile towards the Saudi capital Riyadh.
Within hours of the missile being intercepted, Saudi Arabia launched a series of air strikes on the Yemeni capital Sanaa, targeting the Houthi-controlled presidential palace, the national security headquarters and the interior ministry.
In a statement released via the state news agency SPA, the coalition urged Yemenis and humanitarian groups to "avoid areas of combat operations, areas populated by the Houthis, areas and ports exploited by this Iranian-controlled militia to smuggle weapons, and areas from which this militia launch its attacks against the Kingdom."
"To address vulnerabilities," the coalition said, "... it has been decided to temporarily close all Yemeni ground, air, and sea ports".
Yemen's national airline, Yemenia, which is jointly owned by Saudi Arabia, said it would no longer fly out of Aden and Seiyoun, areas in south Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. Khawaja Asif said it is unfair to blame Pakistain for whatever ails Afghanistan have toady as Pakistain has eliminated terrorism from its soil after great sacrifices and now there are no terrorist safe havens here.
He was addressing the 4th Round of US-Pakistain Bilateral Dialogue held in Islamabad on Monday with the title 'Convergence amid Divergence: Identifying Pathways to Cooperation in a Challenging Environment'.
The Foreign Minister said with self defence and self-interest as our first priority we are fully committed to protect the illusory sovereignty of our motherland. He said we will also not allow our soil to be used against any other country.
Khawaja Asif said in the era of challenging and complex international relations, states should focus on long term partnerships and cooperation.
He said with peace and stability in Afghanistan as our ultimate goal, we have been and are ready to extend every possible cooperation to achieve that end.
The Foreign Minister said Pakistain has also reached out to other regional countries and regional fora like SAARC in its efforts for peace in Afghanistan.
Khawaja Asif said intelligence sharing is imperative for improving border management with Afghanistan. He said the United States should share timely intelligence and Pakistain will take action itself.

[AnNahar] Hundreds of civilians have returned to a battered district of Syria's Raqa in what a U.S.-backed force said was the first wave of returns since it cleared explosives left by jihadists.

Tens of thousands of people fled the city during the offensive, reducing Raqa to a ghost town of collapsed buildings.
The SDF said in an online statement on Sunday that hundreds of families had returned to al-Meshleb, Raqa's easternmost district.
"The SDF informed civilians from al-Meshleb that they could return to their homes after mine-removal teams had finished clearing the entire neighborhood of explosives left indiscriminately in civilian homes by IS," the force's press center said.
It said the district was the first to which residents had returned since the city's "liberation from ISIS," an Arabic acronym for IS.
After capturing Raqa, the SDF sealed off the city to allow for mine removal operations in bombed-out neighborhoods.
Residents often amassed at checkpoints in recent weeks, waiting for permission to access the city and see if their homes were still standing.
Some civilians who sneaked in were killed by unwent kaboom! ordnance.
Mine-clearing and reconstruction operations in Raqa are being coordinated by the Raqa Civil Council, a provisional local government body appointed by the SDF but based outside the city.
"Yes, residents of al-Meshleb returned to their homes -- but the whole city hasn't been cleared of mines yet," senior council member Omar Alloush told AFP on Monday.
The deputy head of the council's reconstruction committee, Nazmi Mohammad, said the body had dispatched 10 bulldozers to Raqa to help clear rubble and blocked-off roads in al-Meshleb.
After capturing Raqa in 2014, IS used the city as a hub for the administration of its self-styled "caliphate" in Iraq and Syria.
Following months of losses in the face of multiple offensives, touted IS fighters are now defending their last redoubts further down the Euphrates Valley.
More than 330,000 people have been killed since Syria's conflict erupted in March 2011 with anti-government protests that were brutally suppressed.

[RUDAW.NET] The US-led Coalition and the Peshmerga ministry held a "positive" meeting on Monday regarding the military standoff between the Iraqi and Kurdish forces, a Peshmerga spokesperson told Rudaw.
The Coalition is overseeing the ongoing talks between the two sides. Military officials from the Kurdistan Region and Iraq have held three security meetings but no official agreement has yet been made.
Halgurd Hikmat said the Coalition listened to the concerns and the position of the Peshmerga with regard to the current tensions between the Kurdistan Region and Iraq that first broke out when Iraqi forces and their Iranian-backed Shiite Hashd al-Shaabi took control of Kirkuk on October 16.
The Peshmerga had been in control of Kirkuk and much of the disputed or Kurdistani areas since 2014 after the Iraqi forces withdrew in the face of ISIS advances.

[Al Jazeera] Iraq's top court has said the country's constitution does not allow for the secession of any part of the country from the state.
In a statement on Monday, Iyas al-Samouk, Supreme Federal Court spokesperson, said the national charter expressly calls for the preservation of Iraq's unity and territorial integrity.
The court is responsible for settling disputes between the central government in Baghdad and the country's regions and provinces, including northern Iraq's semi-autonomous Kurdish region.
The court's rulings are final and cannot be contested by higher judicial authorities.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The Paleostinian Authority has openly accused the Israeli regime of supporting terrorist groups in Syria, specifically in the Golan Heights. The accusation comes after Tel Aviv threatened on Friday to directly intervene on Syrian soil in order to "protect" a Syrian Druze village close to the de facto Israeli border.
On Friday, an elaborate attack by forces of Evil from the former al-Nusra ...formally Jabhat an-Nusrah li-Ahli al-Sham (Support Front for the People of the Levant), also known as al-Qaeda in the Levant. They aim to establish a pan-Arab caliphate. Not the same one as the Islamic State, though .. ... Front on the Syrian town of Hader left nine people dead and 23 maimed. Hader, mainly populated by members of the Druze religious community, was hit by a boom-mobile, followed by an exchange of gunfire between forces of Evil and troops of the Syrian army.
Following the attack, the Israeli regime issued a declaration that it was considering direct military intervention in order to allegedly "protect" the villagers from further harm. The news was received with considerable outrage, as Hader is currently in the hands of pro-government forces. The Druze community of Syria, from which recently deceased Major General Issam Zahreddine hailed, is overwhelmingly supportive of the Syrian Arab Republic and President Assad.
The Israeli statement was met with protests by Druze in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, which were dispersed by Israeli police forces.
In an official statement, the Paleostinian Authority said that Israel had "tactically retreated" from its earlier decision to "support the so-called Syrian opposition from occupying the Syrian Druze village of Hader." Furthermore, the Authority stated that Israel’s retreat came "under pressure from Druze reactions in Israel" to "the suspicious relationship between the regime in Tel Aviv" al-Nusra terrorists, who are part of the al-Qaeda organization.

The editorial breached press regulations concerning Iran’s national security, according to the press regulator as reported by national media.
The UAE is part of the Saudi-led alliance that launched an air and military campaign against Houthi rebels in 2015 following the start of the civil war between the Saudi-backed Yemen government and the Houthis.
The newspaper claimed that Saturday’s missile attack on Riyadh sent shockwaves through the ruling elite of the oil-rich kingdom and that young Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman would have not believed it possible the Houthis could target the Saudi capital.
The Saudi-led alliance has claimed that the missile was supplied to the rebels by Iran. Saudi’s Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said on Monday they will respond to the Iranian threat at an "appropriate time."
The newspaper also ran a second piece on the missile issue, mocking US President Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... ’s statement that the missile fired at Riyadh’s airport was Iranian. Their rivalry has also caused upheaval in Leb. The country’s Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri announced his resignation over the weekend while visiting Saudi Arabia. He said he did so because Iran has planned to cause chaos and destruction in Leb and throughout the Arab world.
