Afghanistan
US steps up bombing, uses stealth fighters in Afghanistan
[DAWN] Eager to win the war, the Trump administration has introduced a new weapon in Afghanistan, the F-22 stealth fighter, US military publications reported this week.

It was Gen. John Nicholson, the commander of US and NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Originally it was a mutual defense pact directed against an expansionist Soviet Union. In later years it evolved into a mechanism for picking the American pocket while criticizing the cut of the American pants...
forces, who reported on Monday that the US Air Force had used F-22 fighter jets to target drug labs that generate revenue for the Talibs.

While the mainstream media focused on the campaign to destroy Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
’s revenue sources, military publications ‐ Defensetech, Navy Times and others ‐ pointed out that F-22 were stealth fighters and this was the first time that the US had used this state of the art technology in Afghanistan.

The F-22s were joined by B-52 Stratofortresses and Afghan A-29 Super Tucanos to conduct an expanded strike mission ‐ called the new offensive campaign, the reports added.

Sudan’s Bashir asks Putin for ‘protection’ from US
A bit more on this story from yesterday.
[DAWN] Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir
Head of the National Congress Party. He came to power in 1989 when he, as a brigadier in the Sudanese army, led a group of officers in a bloodless military coup that ousted the government of Prime Minister Sadiq al-Mahdi and eventually appointed himself president-for-life. He has fallen out with his Islamic mentor, Hasan al-Turabi, tried to impose shariah on the Christian and animist south, resulting in its secessesion, and attempted to Arabize Darfur by unleashing the barbaric Janjaweed on it. Sudan's potential prosperity has been pissed away in warfare that has left as many as 400,000 people dead and 2.5 million displaced. Omar has been indicted for genocide by the International Criminal Court but nothing is expected to come of it.
, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court for genocide and war crimes, on Thursday asked Russia’s Vladimir Putin
...Second and fourth President and sixth of the Russian Federation and the first to remain sober. Putin is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from polonium poisoning. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to Putin. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead...
to protect his country from the United States.

Speaking during his first visit to Russia as president, Bashir also said he wanted to ramp up military ties and praised Moscow’s military campaign in Syria.

"We have been dreaming about this visit for a long time," the Sudanese president told Putin at the Black Sea resort of Sochi.

Putin said that Russia was keen to intensify economic ties including in agriculture and energy.

"There are prospects not only in the hydrocarbon sphere but also in energy," Putin said. "There are many prospects of cooperation."

Egypt delays Rafah border opening after North Sinai attack: MENA
Consequences. What odds Hamas, the Moslem Brotherhood in Gaza, somehow aided and abetted Friday’s attack on that Sufi mosque?
[AlAhram] Egypt has delayed the opening of the Egypt-Gazoo Rafah border crossing due to security concerns after a North Sinai attack on a mosque killed more than 200 people, MENA state news agency said on Friday, citing the Paleostinian embassy in Cairo.

The border was to reopen for three days to allow travel from both sides, the agency said.

Serial killer Al-Werrfalli claims Dignity Operation wants to terminate him
[Libya Observer] ICC wanted killer, Mahmud al-Werrfalli, has unveiled a plot by Dignity Operation big shots to assassinate him, but he asserted that no one in Benghazi can cause harm to him.

In another leaked telephone call with Chief of Dignity Operation’s Control and Judicial Authority, Oun al-Furjani, al-Werrfalli claimed that a meeting had been held in Nawagaya district, some 15 km southwest of Benghazi, between son of Khalifa Haftar
...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all...
- Beligasem, Presidential Council member Fathi al-Mijibri, Allam Fallah, and Mowafik Mughrebi to discuss his fate.

"You telephoned those four people during that meeting from La Belle France and you assured them that you will assassinate me when you summon me to the General Command", al-Werrfalli angrily confronted Oun during the leaked phone call.

When asked by Oun about the source of his accusation, al-Werrfalli disclosed that he obtains telephone tapping devices and that all telephone calls are recorded.

"Assassinating me wouldn’t be easy", he shouted at Oun, threatening him that if they caused any harm to him; all Benghazi people will turn against them.

Al-Werrfalli also lashed out at Dignity Operation spokesperson, Ahmed al-Mismari, and Assistant Deputy Minister for Human Rights Affairs at the Ministry of Justice of eastern government, Sahir Banoun, for labelling him as war criminal, threatening to deal with them at the appropriate time.

He also disclosed that he had been killing the "Khawarij" before the start of Dignity Operation in 2014, and that he is committing this murder to get closer to Allah.

This is the second part of a 14-minute leaked phone call between both men.

In the first leak, al-Werrfalli ranted about al-Oun and "the General Command" for not treating the maimed snuffies and paying off millions of debts owed by Saiqa to lenders.

Presidential Council condemns human trafficking, probes claims of slave auctions in Libya
[Libya Observer] The Presidential Council (PC) has reiterated that the Libyan Attorney General's Office and the concerned authorities have started probing the CNN report about slave auctions in Libya.

"Slavery and human trafficking are inhuman and a crime against humanity." The PC said in a statement on Thursday.

It added that if the media reports were proven true, all the individuals involved in the crime will be punished.

The PC urged all the local and international parties to cooperate with the Libyan Attorney General's Office and provide the needed information that can help unveil the truth about "this horrendous crime that is foreign to Libyan society and is done secretly by smuggling gangs and organized crimes' networks."

"The international community should not just feel sorry for such crimes but should also take some action against them no matter where the crimes took place, knowing that such crimes exist in different African and European countries." The statement adds.

The PC also added that over a million African workers used to work in Libya and the number decreased due to the current crisis in the country to tens of thousands who work legally in Libya.

"We are the victim of this illegal immigration crisis and not the source. Libya doesn't hold the key to ending the crisis, so the international community should help the country stop migrants colonists flow at the southern borders and develop the detention centers of those migrants colonists in the country or tackle the issues of the source countries so the migrants colonists can stop taking the risk." The statement further explained.

Arabia
Qatar calls for renewed push against 'terror groups'
[Al Jazeera] Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates...
's Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has called on the international community to unite against groups like the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS, also known as ISIS).

Al Thani told the audience at the Westminster Counterterrorism Conference in London on Thursday that "it is time for the international community to say enough is enough".

The event organised by the prestigious Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) brought together former and current counterterror officials and other experts in the field.

According to Al Thani, Qatar is resolutely committed to ending extremism of all kinds and since 2004 had taken "aggressive" steps to cut the flow of finance to groups that have been designated terrorist organizations.

"Qatar wants constantly to seek new collective approaches to the global threat of terrorism in a changing world," he said, before condemning neighbouring rulers in the region who had used terrorism as an excuse to persecute opponents.

'Impulsive leadership'
Al Thani told Al Jazeera that the "impulsive leadership" of Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
was behind its attempts to isolate Qatar and for the crisis in Leb, whose Prime Minister Saad Hariri
Second son of Rafik Hariri, the Leb PM who was assassinated in 2005. He has was prime minister in his own right from 2009 through early 2011. He was born in Riyadh to an Iraqi mother and graduated from Georgetown University. He managed his father's business interests in Riyadh until his father's assassination. When his father died he inherited a fortune of some $4.1 billion, which won't do him much good if Hizbullah has him bumped off, too.
had purportedly been forced to resign by the Saudis.

"I must emphasise the role of the rule of law and due process, because one of the main reasons terrorism flourishes is the absence of justice," Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman told the conference.

"We should not allow governments to disrespect the rule of law and due process and use terrorism as an excuse for persecuting their political opponents."

Dr Mutlaq Majed Al Qahtani, Qatar's special envoy for counterterrorism, said no country was immune to what is now a global problem, making partnerships essential in the battle against extremism.

More Libyans on Saudi-led ‘Anti-Terror Quartet’ list
[Libya Herald] The Anti-Terror Quartet (ATQ) ‐ Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, UAE, Egypt and Bahrain ‐ has added another Libyan to their list of alleged terrorists, plus an organization which has three prominent Libyans among its members. Altogether, 11 new individuals and the two organizations have been put on the list.

The Libyan named on the ATQ update is Salem al-Jaber, a radical imam who supported the Benghazi Revolutionaries Shoura Council but fled back to his native Misrata some time ago. A member of the Sharia Research Council at Sadek al-Gharani’s Dar al-Ifta in Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
, he is also involved with the Benghazi Defence Brigades’ Boshra news agency, itself already on the terror list.

Banned by Qadaffy from preaching, he now has a Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates...
i residency permit and is said to be involved in a number of Qatari organizations, although he remains based in Misrata.

Also on the list now is the Qatar-based World Union of Moslem Scholars, headed by Yusuf al-Qaradawi
...crackpot Egyptian Islamist theologian. He is best known for his program Shariah and Life on Al Jazeera, with an estimated audience of 60 million kindred souls worldwide. He is also well-known for IslamOnline, which occasionally advocates things like slavery and thumping the old lady with a rod no thicker than an inch, and has published more than 120 books, including Islam: The Future Civilization. Joe has long had a prominent role within the intellectual leadership of the Moslem Brüderbund. Some of his views have been controversial in the West, though less so among the rubes of the Mysterious East, and he was refused entry to the United Kingdom in 2008. In 2004, 2,500 Muslim academics from Saudi Arabia, Iraq and from the Palestinian territories condemned Qaradawi, and accused him of giving Islam a bad name....
. Among its leading members are Ali Salabi, seen as the real leader of the Moslem Brüderbund in Libya and already on the list, as well as Salem al-Sheikhi and Wanis al-Mabrouk al-Fasi, both from eastern Libya.

Who is the ‘Fox of Qatar’, one of the most dangerous men wanted for terror
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Terrorist Khalid Nazem Diab is one of the most prominent figures classified by the anti-terror quartet in a new list, which includes two terrorist organizations and 11 individuals calssified as "elements supporting terrorism."

This is the third listing for Diab as a top global terrorist, after being included on the US lists and the United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
since 2002.

Diab is one of the most prominent supporters of the terrorist organization Moslem Brüderbund and was placed in durance vile
Please don't kill me!
in Leb in 2013 for supporting terrorist groups in Syria.

The ruling regime in Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates...
, a known supporter of terrorism, appointed Diab as the director of the Qatar Red Islamic Thingy’s International Relief and Development Department, despite his historically frenzied handling of international issues.

Observers noted that the Qatari regime places on its list of recruitment requirements that the applicant must be "good at lying, deceiving, and has murderous Moslem terrorist tendencies."

Diab, an American of Syrian descent, is a financier of the armed militias in Syria, and his terrorist activity now also encompasses Yemen, Mauritania, Iraq and Djibouti.

Recent events
Despite the Qatari Red Islamic Thingy’s description of the department as deriving its vision and scope of action from two basic principles - humanity and universality - with a slogan reading "Safe souls and protected dignity," observers have pointed out that recent events revealed that the director of this administration is one of the most dangerous hard boyz on the international lists.

Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Bahrain have announced the addition of two entities and 11 individuals to their list of banned terrorists.

This is in light of the commitment of these countries to fight terrorism, to dry up its sources of funding, to combat murderous Moslem ideology, to work together to eradicate it, to immunize societies and to cooperate with the active partners in the fight against terrorism.

Bangladesh
‘We are ready to return to Myanmar only if our civic rights are ensured’
[Dhaka Tribune] It has been three months since the recent refugee crisis started in Bangladesh, as an unprecedented number of displaced Rohingyas began a mass exodus from northern Rakhine state, following a campaign of terror perpetrated by the Myanmar Army.

To get an in-depth view of the current state of the refugee crisis, a Dhaka Tribune correspondent visited the Rohingya camps located in Ukhiya and Teknaf upazilas of Cox’s Bazar district.

More than a hundred Rohingya men and women, who fled Myanmar after August 25 this year, were asked their opinion about returning to their homeland.

A majority of the refugees stated that they are ready to go home only if the Myanmar government ensures their basic human rights
...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty...
and ethnic identity.

Kalimuddin, 30, who left his home village in Maungdaw Township day after Eid-ul-Azha [August 27], became emotional while describing the life he had in Myanmar.

"I took my wife and five children, and fled the oppression of Myanmar army and Moghs. We made a life here at Jamtoli Camp but we miss our homeland dearly," he said.

Kalimuddin firmly added that Myanmar is his country and he wants to go back but the Rohingya people’s civic rights must be ensured first.

Mohib Ullah, a sexagenarian hailing from Chindiprang area of Buthidaung, said: "Bangladesh is not our country and we are Rohingya not Bangali. We are Myanmar nationals and we have the right live in Rakhine despite Myanmar government’s repeated claims that we do not belong there.

"We just want to preserve our ethnic identity and our rights," he added.

Anwar Hossain, who arrived in the camp from Bolibazar area under Maungdaw Township, echoed the same.

The Grand Turk
Turkey says Trump told Erdogan won't give Syria Kurds more arms
Possibly this is true. Possibly Turkey is trying to force President Trump’s hand, thinking that their heritage of Byzantine plotting gives them an innate advantage in negotiations. Possibly Turkey is wrong.
[AlAhram] President Donald Trump has informed Ankara that the US will no longer supply weapons to the Syrian Kurdish militia fighting Islamic State (IS) militants, Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said Friday.

Trump delivered the message during what the Turkish presidency called a "productive" phone call with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday

"Mr Trump said he gave a clear order and that after this, weapons would not be supplied to the YPG, essentially he said this nonsense should have been ended earlier," Mevlut Cavusoglu said during a press conference in Ankara.

The YPG is the Peoples' Protection Units Kurdish militia in Syria, which the US has seen as the most effective fighting force on the ground against IS.

"Naturally, we welcomed these statements," said Cavusoglu, adding: "Of course we want to see this put into practice."

There was no immediate comment from the US side regarding the content of the telephone call between the two leaders.

Relations between the US and Turkey have been strained since the administration of former President Barack Obama over its support for the YPG and the failure to extradite Pennsylvania-based Fethullah Gulen blamed for ordering last year's coup bid.

Bilateral ties are at further risk of fraying over a scheduled trial in New York of Turkish-Iranian gold trader Reza Zarrab and Mehmet Hakan Atilla, the deputy chief executive of Turkish lender Halkbank, both accused of defying US sanctions on Iran.

The trial is expected to start early next month but there are fears over possible fines against one or more Turkish banks in the event of a guilty verdict.

Turkey's call for the US not to support our allies in the region sounds like democrats constant call for Republicans to one-sidedly disarm and to concede on their national interests.
If it is true Trump agreed not to supply arms to the Kurds what was Turkey's threat or what did Trump get in return for the concession.
Why should only the US not support its ally in the region.
The only group that helped protect the non-muslims from the terrorists in the region were the Kurds at risk of there own lives.
Turkey, Iran and Russia arms their allies in the region and thereby exercise great influence.
None of these countries have been our allies.
These countries just met in Soche to decide the fate of the region apart from the US.
Our secretary of state has not exercised any American influence in the region.
Turkey is holding innocent Americans as hostages.
Turkey did not do a thing about ISIS.
Turkey only attacked our allies, the Kurds, as they were helping the US to defeat ISIS as if Turkey was saying ISIS was OK but the Kurds are not.
So in other words Turkey, which is in alliance with Russia which is in alliance with Iran, is telling the US to butt out of the region.
The US failed to support Kurdistan in the independence referendum and left it volnerable to the surounding powers of Iran, Turkey, Iraq, the Shiites and Russia.
The best protection against Muslim domination and a Shia crescent is to support a free and democratic Kurdistan.
Our goal should be to get Iran, Turkey, Russia, Hezbollah and the Shiite groups out of other countries.
I hope Harriri is able to kick Hezbollah of his country and out of the region.
My view is the Kurds are not the problem, but part of the solution.
The Kurds know how to fight back unlike other victims of Muslims.
When the US pulled out of Iraq all these foreign operatives came into the power vacuum.
Somehow the US must prevent any axis of evil from taking over.
The US is not providing any leadership or influence right now and will pay a price later.
Somehow the US must continue to fight terrorism and not allow any to dig in and to take over.
Now that ISIS is waning the Shia and other powers are taking over and we have no answer.

#3  Either Trump is an idiot, or Turkey is lying. People in DC who keep telling me they are far smarter than me have lost their asses betting on the former. I have a feeling it is the latter.

Arm the Kurds in Kurdistan Iraq quite lavishly, and turn a blind eye when they wind up across a border that the Kurds do not recognize.

Erdogan does not rule out contact with Assad
[PRESSTV] Ottoman Turkish President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
... The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey...

has not ruled out possible contact with Bashir al-Assad, signaling a break with his long-held opposition to the Syrian president’s role in the Arab country’s future.

"The political doors are always open until the last minute," Erdogan said when asked about a possible contact or cooperation with Assad.

Erdogan’s comments were reported by Hurriyet newspaper and other Ottoman Turkish media on Friday, made on board his plane returning from a trilateral meeting with Russia and Iran to promote a peaceful settlement in Syria.

Even though Russia and Iran have backed Assad's government since the start of the Syrian conflict in March 2011 and Turkey has supported his foes, the three countries have teamed up to help mediate a peace settlement.

Ankara has toned down its anti-Assad rhetoric, and the climbdown was clear during the trilateral meeting with Russia and Iran in the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi on Wednesday.

Turkey made clear its "reservations" about Assad having any future role in Syria, Mahir Unal, the front man of the Justice and Development Party, told news hounds.

India-Pakistan
Council of Islamic Ideology meeting called to discuss Faizabad protest
[DAWN] An emergency meeting of the newly-reconstituted Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) has been called on November 29 to discuss the protest sit-in at Islamabad's Faizabad Interchange, the CII announced on Friday.

In the meeting, religious holy mans and legal experts will be called to participate in a discussion on the matter of the amendment made to the Khatm-e-Nabuwwat oath in the Elections Act 2017, among other issues, a CII spokesperson said.
The oath requires a candidate for office to swear he believes Mohammad to be the very last prophet and that he's not an Ahmadi. That would also leave out Christians, Hindoos, Buddhists, and Farsis.
CII President Dr Qibla Ayaz will be presiding over the meeting, he said; adding that the meeting will "thoroughly" review the issue of the amendment of the oath.

Dr Ayaz has said that the parliament has already resolved the issue in an appropriate manner.

Asserting that the issue of Khatm-e-Nabuwwat is a matter of faith for each and every Moslem, he said that all the political and religious parties seem to have acted according to the aspirations of the nation and the lapse in the law has already been removed.

He said that a recent amendment to the law has also closed the door of any ambiguity in connection with the law on Khatm-e-Nabuwwat.

The CCI is a statutory body with a minimum of eight and a maximum of 20 members, including one woman, whose function is to advise parliament on whether laws are in consonance with Islamic injunctions.

The JuD chief said that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif

Government's 'final warning' to Islamabad protesters lapses without breakthrough
[DAWN] Islamabad's district administration's latest "final warning" to protesters camped out at the Faizabad Interchange, lapsed without much ado midnight on Friday as reports made rounds that the government would now initiate action after 7.30am on Saturday morning in case the protesters refused to relent.

The extension in the deadline was made reportedly at the request of negotiators trying to achieve a breakthrough in talks with the agitators.

In an earlier notification, issued by the district magistrate on Friday evening, the protesters had been ordered to disperse by midnight.

In the missive, the district magistrate had noted that for two weeks the protesters have "illegally occupied" the Faizabad Bridge, which connects Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The notification recalled that the participants had been asked to disperse thrice before but to no avail.

"If the participants do not vacate the area by midnight, an operation will be launched against them," the District Magistrate had warned.

All shops, hotels and bus stands had been shut and all routes leading to the area were sealed to curtail collateral damage.

However,
a hangover is the wrath of grapes...
DawnNews reported a little after the deadline passed that any action had reportedly been put off till 7.30am on Saturday after negotiators sought more time for a breakthrough with the protesters.

Iraq
Daesh retreating deep into desert, say Iraqi forces
[ARABNEWS] Iraqi forces said on Friday that ISIS fighters are withdrawing deep into the desert to escape an offensive now in its second day aimed at finally defeating them.

The hard boyz have already been driven out of all of the towns they once held but Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi has said he will not proclaim victory until they have been cleared from the western desert bordering Syria.

The Hashed al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization) paramilitary force said its fighters had taken control of 77 villages and hamlets since the launch of the offensive on Thursday morning.

It said five hard boyz had been killed south of the ancient desert city of Hatra but otherwise ISIS had put up little resistance.

The Hashed said that its fighters overran an airfield in the same area, where they discovered underground warehouses used by the myrmidons.

Air support for the offensive, which also involves the army and federal police, has so far been provided exclusively by the Iraqi air force.

#1  However, yesterday, it was reported that Daesh blew up and shot up 235 Sufis at a mosque in the Sinai for not being Muslim enough. Daesh does not seem to be done in as reported by Iran. As for retreating into the desert, what are they? "Flash mobs" available on call?

#2  They can only retreat half-way into the desert, after that they're coming out again.

Russia likely to reduce forces in Syria before year-end: General
[AlAhram] Russia's military forces in Syria are likely to be "substantially" reduced and a drawdown could begin before the end of the year, the head of the Russian general staff, Valery Gerasimov, said on Thursday.
Is that the calendar year, the fiscal year, the Muslim year, or something else?

US seeks to hatch new plots after Daesh collapse: Larijani
[PRESSTV] Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani says the United States is the root cause of terrorism in the Middle East, warning of new US plots after the collapse of ISIS terrorist group in Iraq and Syria.

The US created ISIS and Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
in cooperation with holy warriors in the region, Larijani said in an interview with the Ottoman Turkish Radio and Television Corporation, TRT, on Friday.

The US intends to create concern among regional countries about their relations with Iran, he said. Now that ISIS has been eliminated, Washington seeks new plots and claims that Tehran is a threat to the region.

"This is while we have never attacked any country and it is the US that has constantly threatened countries," the top Iranian parliamentarian pointed out.
Backed by popular groups and Iranian military advisors, armed forces in Iraq and Syria have managed to flush ISIS gunnies out of their last strongholds in both countries.

Iran's Qassemi slams 'cheap, immature' Saudi crown prince remarks
[PRESSTV] Iran has lashed out at Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
’s crown prince for making "injudicious and cheap" remarks against the Islamic Theocratic Republic, saying his statements have no credit in the international community.

"The adventurist Saudi crown prince should take into account the inevitable fate of infamous dictators in the region," Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi said on Friday.

No one in the world and the international community gives credit to "the immature, injudicious and cheap" remarks and conduct of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, he added.

The Iranian spokesperson emphasized that the Saudi crown prince’s mistakes, the latest of which was the scandal of interference in Leb’s internal affairs, have even troubled traditional Saudi allies.

Qassemi strongly urged bin Salman to bear in mind the inevitable fate of infamous dictators in the region in recent years now that he seeks to follow in their footsteps and pursue their path.

In an interview with The New York Times

...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

published on Thursday, the Saudi crown prince said Riyadh prefers a confrontational approach to "appeasement" in dealing with Iran.
