400 Airstrikes Hit Insurgents in Helmand In Last 8 Months
[ToloNews] Southern Helmand
...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan...
province military officials on Monday said in the last eight months foreign forces along with Afghan forces carried out over 400 Arclight airstrikes against forces of Evil in different parts of the province.

The 215 Maiwand Military Corps Commander, General Wali Mohammad Ahmadzai, said the strikes carried out by the Afghan forces and foreign troops on forces of Evil and have had good results in the elimination of the gangs.

"In the last eight months Afghan and foreign forces carried out 400 airstrikes in which a big number of Taliban

were killed. Currently, our forces are busy in Maiwand 7, Maiwand 8 and Maiwand 9," said Ahmadzai.

Helmand provincial council members have meanwhile said the airstrikes did not have any impact on Lion of Islam’s activities in the province. According to council members, there are still a few districts of the province are under Taliban control.

"If the security forces want to retake a district, they can do that. However,
some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them...
holding the district for a long time is difficult because there are not enough forces," Ataullah Afghan, head of the council said.

The 215 Maiwand Military Corps is optimistic about the increase of airstrikes while Baghran, Nowzad, Musa Qala, Khanshin and Desho districts of the province have been under Taliban control for some years.

Fighting is also ongoing between Taliban and security forces in parts of Lashkargah city, the capital city of the province.

Sinai -- A New Arena For The Ongoing ISIS-Al-Qaeda Rivalry

(ISIS) and al-Qaeda for leadership of the global jihad movement found a new theatre ‐ the Sinai peninsula ‐ as al-Qaeda made efforts to reenter the Egyptian arena and challenge the hegemony of ISIS in Sinai, or at least to put on a media show of challenging ISIS's Sinai Province. The struggle was manifested on the ground, in actual fighting between the two organizations, and in online propaganda, in an exchange of invective and threats. The struggle in Sinai mirrors the struggle between ISIS and al-Qaeda in other areas, such as Syria, Libya, Yemen, and elsewhere.

Jund al-Islam (JI), al-Qaeda's affiliate in Sinai, grabbed credit for an October 11, 2017 attack on ISIS fighters that killed a number of them, and boasted that it has the power to "uproot" ISIS. If the attack was indeed perpetrated by JI, it constitutes a precedent, since to date ISIS has not faced a challenge from within the jihadi movement. However,

button men attacked Saleh’s car.

According to the sources, tribal mediation was able to convince Saleh to leave his home in Sanaa to his hometown in Sinhan district south of the capital. The Houthis reportedly agreed provide Saleh with safety under a tribal agreement.

Sources told Al Arabiya that Saleh left his house in Sanaa with only one car along with his son and two leading members of his General People's Congress party.

A source said Saleh’s car arrived in the area of Sayan, a few kilometers from the village of Beit al-Ahmar in Sanhan, until the entourage were stranded and blocked by seven cars filled with Houthi holy warriors.

"The car that was carrying Saleh could not escape because the seven Houthi cars were completely blocking them," the source said.

Houthi Death Eaters reportedly forced the former president and his lover companions from their car, and were then ordered to fire their guns at Saleh’s stomach and head. Several sources said at least 35 rounds of ammunition was fired.

Saleh met with his confidants and party members on Monday near Sanaa’s 60th Street in the early hours of the morning.

According to available information, Houthi militias began bombing Saleh's house in Sanaa with RPG grenades.

After Saleh decided to go with his party leaders to his hometown Sinhan, 40 km southeast of Sanaa, the Houthi militias managed to encircle his motorcade. Clashes erupted to break the siege, where several of his bodyguards and leaders of the Congress Party were killed.

Saleh and a number of his assistants, including his brother's son, Tarek, who leads Yemen’s Elite Republican Guards, were chased by a military convoy of militias which sources said included at least 20 vehicles.

Ali al-Bukhiti, leader of the Yemen’s People Congress Party said that a sniper shot at Saleh in the head, while other reports said that the Houthis tossed in the calaboose

Houthi militias, however, said they killed Saleh by attacking his motorcade with sniper bullets and rocket-propelled grenades.

A video published by the Houthis showed a scene similar to the killing of the Libyan Colonel Muammar Qadaffy

, where Houthi gunnies wrapped Saleh's body in a blanket and showed that Saleh had a bullet on the left side if his head.

In a televised address, Hadi said the Yemeni Army, which has surrounded Sanaa, was ready to support all efforts that aimed to eradicate the Houthis. The legitimate Yemeni government had extended its hand to all sincere Yemeni citizens to start a new page in the country’s future and to establish a new Yemen, based on pluralism, democracy and freedom, he said.

"Yemen is passing through a decisive turning point that needs our unity and steadfastness in the face of these sectarian militias," Hadi said. "Let’s put our hands together to end this nightmare."

The militias overran Saleh’s home in the capital, Sanaa, and the former leader fled south toward his home village of Sanhan. Houthi button men halted his four-vehicle convoy 40 km from the city and opened fire. Saleh, 75, was killed along with Arif al-Zouka, secretary-general of the former president’s General People’s Congress party, and al-Zouka’s deputy Yasir al-Awadi.

Video posted on social media showed Saleh’s motionless body with a gaping head wound, his eyes open but glassy, and blood staining his shirt under a dark suit. The footage showed Houthis carrying the body in a blanket and dumping it in a pickup truck.

Saleh ruled Yemen for more than 30 years, stitching alliances and playing off one tribe against another. He once described governing the country as like dancing on the heads of snakes.

Houthi: We managed to thwart major threat to Yemen’s security
[PRESSTV] Leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, says the movement has managed to thwart a major threat to the country’s security by defeating the plot hatched by former president, former President-for-Life Ali Abdullah Saleh

He added that despite his early pretense about being opposed to Saudi aggression, Saleh finally changed course and took sides with the aggressors.

noted that the fighting in the capital Sana'a in past days had worried people about security and unity in the country.

After they revealed their new position, Houthi said, we asked them to stop their warmongering and criminal activities and told them this was the wrong course that they had taken.

Houthi added, "However,

they declined our request and continued with their wrong pro-Saudi approach and ended up with blocking the capital’s streets."

"They intended to do the same in other provinces and cities ... but today, this plot was defeated very quickly," he said.

Noting that recent positions taken by Saleh were openly in favor of Yemen’s enemies, the leader of Ansarullah said Saleh’s positions, which were backed by a united media front of the enemies even took members of his own party by surprise.

Yemen’s ex-president Ali Abdullah Saleh not honest in defending nation: Ansarullah
[PRESSTV] Yemen’s Houthi

... Saleh initially took power as a strongman of North Yemen in 1977, when disco was in flower, but he didn't invite Donna Summer to the inauguration and Blondie couldn't make it...
, "was not honest" in his confrontation with the Saudi-led military coalition as he was collaborating covertly with Riyadh, describing Saleh’s era as the "worst" in Yemen’s history.

Mohammad al-Bukhaiti, a top figure in the Political Council of Yemen's Houthi Ansarullah movement, made the remarks in an interview with Press TV on Monday, hours after Saleh was killed in festivities between his militia and the Houthi fighters on the outskirt of the capital Sana’a.

The Houthi official described the death of Saleh on Monday as a landmark and major turning point in Yemen’s history since a "dangerous plot against the nation" had been foiled by Yemeni forces.

"Today Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
is witnessing a historic phase, maybe one of the most historic phases, one of the most historic phases. The most dangerous conspiracy against these people was toppled," he added.

"We also have the end of the era of Saleh which was the worst era in the history of Yemen. We have entered a new phase. I would add that we have filled the gaps inside the country," he noted.

"Because Saleh wasn't honest in confronting the aggression, he was collaborating with this aggression secretly and not publicly or overtly," he added.

"We were correct when we accused Saleh of conspiring. We were also honest when we said that Saleh isn't participating in confronting the aggression, and using the card of internal sedition in Yemen will have an impact in confronting the aggression," he noted.

"Despite internal sedition, despite all this, the front against the aggression has not been affected... despite many of the fighters being preoccupied by defusing this sedition," he further said.

"This shows that those fighting the aggression are the Yemeni people led by Leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi. And there is a popular will in confronting this aggression and against this aggression. Were it not for a popular will.. a real popular will... we will not have succeeded in persevering against this foreign aggression and amidst the political divisions and sedition," he further stated.

Bahrain's top Shia cleric hospitalized in 'critical condition'
[PRESSTV] Bahrain's most senior Shia holy man Sheikh Isa Qassim has been taken to a private hospital at death's door after weeks of suffering from deteriorating health.

Sheikh Qassim's family and the Bahrain Center for Human Rights group confirmed his hospitalization on Monday and said he was in "critical condition."

He has been under house arrest for around 500 days amid daily protest gatherings in the northwestern village of Diraz which is besieged by regime forces.

Bahrain's leading political party al-Wefaq and rights bodies said the holy man, who is in his late 70s, was suffering from high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease.

Deputy Secretary-General of al-Wefaq Sheikh Hussein al-Daihi said the spiritual leader was taken from his home to a private hospital amid tight security measures.

The holy man, known as the spiritual leader of the country's Shia Moslem majority, has been hailed as a source of inspiration for their peaceful demonstrations against the ruling Al Khalifa regime.

Britain
British aid scheme suspended amid allegations of payments to Syrian jihadis
[TheGuardian] The government has suspended a multimillion-pound foreign aid project amid allegations that money paid to a contractor in Syria was reaching the pockets of jihadist groups.

The plug was pulled on the scheme funding a civilian police force following claims its members were being made to hand cash to extremists.

Officers from the Free Syrian Police were apparently also working with courts accused of torture and summary executions according to allegations made in a BBC Panorama documentary due to air on Monday evening.

The Foreign Office confirmed on Sunday night that it had suspended access to the justice and community security scheme (Ajacs), which has been running since late 2014, following grave concerns about its management by the British contractor, Adam Smith International.

Britain is one of six countries supporting the community-led police force set up after the Syrian uprising and stationed in regions held by opposition rebels.

According to documents seen by Panorama, police officers in Aleppo province were forced to hand over cash to the extremist group in control of the area, Nour al-Din al-Zinki.

The programme, Jihadis You Pay For, also claims that the Syrian branch of al-Qaida, Jabhat al-Nusra, had handpicked police officers for two stations in Idlib province. Other evidence suggested dead and fictitious people were on the force’s payroll.

Adam Smith International, which strongly denies the allegations, said it had managed taxpayers’ money “effectively to confront terrorism”.

When the company visited one police station, supposedly the base for 57 police officers, it could not find a single officer, the investigation found. The contractor said it accounted for the officers on subsequent visits and that it had found very few instances of dead officers remaining on the salary list in Syria.

It said it used cash because there was “no practical alternative” and that officers imposed by Jabhat al-Nusra were detected within two months.

Payments to the stations funding the extremist group Nour al-Din al-Zinki were stopped in August 2016, it added.

In a statement published on Sunday, Adam Smith International said Panorama’s allegations about the Ajacs project were “false and misleading”.

Supreme Court allows full enforcement of Trump travel ban
About F*&king time they swatted down these rogue Democrat judges
[AyPeeNews] The Supreme Court on Monday allowed the Trump administration to fully enforce a ban on travel to the United States by residents of six mostly Muslim countries.

This is not a final ruling on the travel ban: Challenges to the policy are winding through the federal courts, and the justices themselves ultimately are expected to rule on its legality.

But the action indicates that the high court might eventually approve the latest version of the ban, announced by President Donald Trump in September. Lower courts have continued to find problems with the policy.

White House spokesman Hogan Gidley said the White House is "not surprised by today's Supreme Court decision permitting immediate enforcement of the President's proclamation limiting travel from countries presenting heightened risks of terrorism."

Opponents of this and previous versions of the ban say they show a bias against Muslims. They say that was reinforced most recently by Trump's retweets of anti-Muslim videos.

The ban applies to travelers from Chad, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria and Yemen.
"President Trump's anti-Muslim prejudice is no secret. He has repeatedly confirmed it, including just last week on Twitter. It's unfortunate that the full ban can move forward for now, but this order does not address the merits of our claims," said Omar Jadwat, director of the American Civil Liberties Union's Immigrants' Rights Project. The ACLU is representing some opponents of the ban.

Just two justices, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor, noted their disagreement with court orders allowing the latest policy to take full effect.

The new policy is not expected to cause the chaos that ensued at airports when Trump rolled out his first ban without warning in January.

The ban applies to travelers from Chad, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria and Yemen. Lower courts had said people from those nations with a claim of a "bona fide" relationship with someone in the United States could not be kept out of the country. Grandparents, cousins and other relatives were among those courts said could not be excluded.

The courts were borrowing language the Supreme Court itself came up with last summer to allow partial enforcement of an earlier version of the ban.

Now, those relationships will no longer provide a blanket exemption from the ban, although visa officials can make exceptions on a case-by-case basis.

The justices offered no explanation for their order, but the administration had said that blocking the full ban was causing "irreparable harm" because the policy is based on legitimate national security and foreign policy concerns.

#2  There's a book out there called Marching Orders that reveal what the Japanese consulates were saying in the broken code transmissions prior to Pearl Harbor, something like 'friends' in the communities. If that info was passed circa '41-'42 to the court, we may understand why they upheld the interment action. Likewise, if intel has been provided to today's SCOTUS that shows 'agents' transiting into the US via these locales, it would be institutional suicide for SCOTUS to act contrary to vital national security interests.

India-Pakistan
Terms of agreement with Faizabad protesters 'cannot be legally justified', says IHC
[DAWN] Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday questioned the legal standing of the agreement reached between the government and Faizabad protest leaders, saying that none of the terms could be legally justified.

"How can cases filed under the Terrorism Act be dismissed?" he asked during a hearing at the IHC regarding the recent sit-in at the Faizabad Interchange in the capital.

After the weeks-long protest that had virtually paralysed the capital, the government and leaders of Tehrik-e-Labaik Ya Rasool Allah (TLY) reached an agreement on November 26 in which the former conceded to the latter's demands ‐ including dropping all the cases against the protesters.

The IHC, however, had noted a "number of serious objections on the terms of agreement" and expressed its displeasure over the army’s role in the settlement made with the protesters.

"Who is the army to adopt a mediator's role?" Justice Siddiqui had inquired in the previous hearing. "Where does the law assign this role to a major general?"

The IHC recommended that the legal standing of the agreement should be discussed in a joint session of the parliament, DawnNews reported.

Attorney General of Pakistain (AGP) Ashtar Ausaf, however, disagreed with the recommendation, saying that since the high court had taken suo motu

The AGP requested the court to grant him some time to determine the legal position of the army's role as an arbitrator in the negotiations, saying that he was not in the country and needed time to prepare the report.

In a written order on November 27, the IHC bench had directed the attorney general to help the court determine how the armed forces could act as an arbitrator.

special assistant to the prime minister, Barrister Zafarullah Khan, excused himself from IHC's order to prepare a report on the sit-in.

On November 27, the high court had tasked Zafarullah with filing a report on "what happened [during the sit-in] where and when" within 10 days.

The judge remarked that the protesters were guilty of blasphemy, pointing to the language used by the protest leaders and participants during the sit-in.

US will act if Pakistan does not destroy safe havens: CIA
[DAWN] CIA Director Mike Pompeo has warned Pakistain that if it does not eliminate the alleged safe havens inside its territory, the United States will do "everything we can" to destroy them.

As Defence Secretary Jim Mattis arrives in Islamabad on Monday to persuade Pakistain to support the new US strategy for Afghanistan, the Trump administration is sending mixed signals to its estranged ally. The new strategy seeks Pakistain’s support to defeat the Taliban

in the battlefield as Washington believes that only a defeat will force them to reconcile with the Afghan government.

Talking to journalists aboard his plane on Sunday, Secretary Mattis said he did not plan to "prod" Pakistain into action because he expected Islamabad to adhere to its promises to combat terrorism.

Iraq’s oil company: country’s exports up to USD6.83 bn In November
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Iraq exported crude oil worth USD6.83 billion during the month of November, the country’s marketing company said in a statistic released on Monday.

Alghad Press website quoted the State Oil Marketing Organization (SOMO) saying that that was the worth of 105.51 million barrels exported during the month, with an average price per barrel of USD57.194.

The statistic put the daily export rate at 3.503 million barrels.

"Kirkuk fields did not record the export of any petroleum quantities during last November.

Iraq’s oil ministry had unveiled intentions to drive up crude oil production to five million barrels a day before the end of 2017.

Last week, Iraq’s oil minister said he supports an OPEC decision to extend cuts in oil supply, a measure aimed at increasing prices.

Iraq is OPEC’s second largest oil producer following Soddy Arabia

The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
Iraq’s oil exports for October were worth more than USD5.455 billion, with more than 103.7 million barrels recorded, a daily export rate of 3.3 million barrels and an average price per barrel of more than 52.5.

MP: Iraq’s 2018 budget excludes 30.000 mobilization fighters from payroll
With ISIS ousted, it’s time to leave the mopping up to the professionals. Give the paramilitaries a parade and the thanks of a grateful nation, and send ‘em home to their wives and girlfriends.
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Iraq’s draft 2018 budget excludes 30.000 fighters of the paramilitary forces that fought Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
alongside the government from the payroll earmarked for the forces, a parliament member was quoted saying.

Faleh al-Khazaali, a member of the Iraqi parliament’s security and defense committee, was quoted saying, in press statements on Monday, that the draft "included allocations for 122.000 fighter of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), while the official number of fighters on the ground who receive salaried from the mobilization institution is 152.000".

Khazaali labeled the budget "unfair to the mobilization".

The parliament concluded a consultative session on the draft on Sunday, and referred the document to the finance committee to turn it its final form.

Last week, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi vowed to give Popular Mobilization Forces payments equal to other government troops. "The government pledges to equalize the salaries of the Popular Mobilization Forces with their peers at security forces", he stated.

Popular Mobilization Forces, an alliance of volunteer Shia paramilitary forces, have actively backed the Iraqi government’s military campaign against IS since 2014, when they were formed upon a top Shia clergy edict to counter the Sunni Jihadist group.

PMF won official recognition as a national force late 2016, becoming under the command of the prime minister, who is also the supreme commander of the armed forces.

Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi said that his country has defeated Islamic State over the military level, but will declare final victory after desert areas are purged of hard boys.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Calls for disbanding Iraq's PMU, sign of new plot against Mideast: Iran official
[PRESSTV] Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani says calls for disbanding Iraq's Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) indicate a new plot aimed at bringing back insecurity to the Middle East.

The fact that a Western country's president echoes calls by the Israeli regime and emphasizes the disbanding of the volunteer pro-government forces, commonly known by their Arabic name as Hashd al-Shaabi, shows a new plot is being hatched to bring insecurity and terrorism back to the region, Shamkhani said in a meeting with the head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council
Led by Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq (ISCI, formerly the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq, or SCIRII, pronounced Scarey)) is not nearly as supreme as it makes out to be. The al-Hakim family business is merely another one of political parties, this one Shiite and with its power base in the south of the country. The Iranian government sponsored the party's creation in 1982 during the Iran-Iraq war after the leading Iraqi Islamist group was weakened by a government crackdown. Designed as an umbrella organization to unite Iraqi Shi'a groups, the party supports Islamic government controlled by holy men. In post-Saddam Iraq ISCI has worked closely with other Shi'a organizations to provide social services and humanitarian aid. Though accused of receiving money and weapons from Iran, ISCI leaders maintain that the party is committed to democracy and peaceful cooperation. The Badr Brigade initially acted as ISCI's armed wing but later to split to form the independent Badr Organization.

and the first deputy speaker of the country's parliament, Sheikh Humam Hamoudi, in Tehran on Monday.

He added that wisdom of the Iraqi officials, particularly the politicians, would thwart the enemies' plots to undermine the country's solidarity and national security, saying, "Certainly, such plots will be foiled."

During a visit to Iraq on Saturday, French President Emmanuel Macron called for a "gradual demilitarization" and the "dismantlement" of the PMU fighters and all militias in Iraq. His call was widely received with outrage and anger by many in Iraq.

Ahmad al-Assadi, one of the PMU’s leaders, was quoted by AFP as saying that "any such discussion is rejected and we do not accept interference in Iraqi affairs."
