Afghanistan sends deported asylum-seeker back to Germany
[DW] The government of Afghanistan has denied entry to a failed asylum-seeker deported by Germany. The Afghans say the man was turned back at the border as per agreement with the German government because he's mentally ill.

The attempted deportation was carried out earlier this week, but unlike other deportees aboard the plane to Kabul, 23-year-old Mortaza D. was refused entry and flown back to Munich.

He is now in a juvenile detention center in the Bavarian capital pending further review of his case.

Bild listed more than 20 crimes that Mortaza D., who first applied for asylum in 2010, allegedly committed and for which he was sent to prison in Germany. But the Afghan government says his criminal record was not the reason he was turned away.

"The individual was mentally ill and, as a result of a joint decision by both sides [Afghanistan and Germany], he was sent back to Germany," Murtaza Rasuli, head of legal support for Afghan returnees at the Afghan Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations, told DW.

"Based on the agreement we [Afghanistan] have with Germany, vulnerable people cannot be deported to Afghanistan. This man met the criteria and was, therefore, sent back to Germany."

The German Interior Ministry refused to comment on Mortaza D.'s mental health, citing his right to privacy. However,
it was a brave man who first ate an oyster...
it did confirm there is an agreement concerning serious illness for which adequate medical treatment doesn't exist in Afghanistan or which makes a safe return impossible.

The Interior Ministry also confirmed that Mortaza D. had additionally been refused entry because of doubts as to his true identity and the authenticity of his travel documents ‐ something that apparently took German officials by surprise.

The Interior Ministry of the western German state of Hesse, which is ultimately responsible for the deportation, said that Mortaza D.'s documentation was issued by the Afghan general consulate in Germany. Decisions on whether individuals face deportation rest partially with individual German states, and federal police often assist in carrying them out.

The Hessian Interior Ministry said that Mortaza D. would be returning from Munich in the near future. But he won't be a free man. He'll resume serving a prison sentence that was suspended when he agreed to voluntary deportation.

According to the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF), some 24,000 people were deported from Germany in 2017, while around 29,500 returned to their countries of origin of their own accord. The numbers of people without a long-term right to reside in Germany are far higher. Many factors make deportations difficult to carry out, including difficulties in obtaining valid travel documents and countries of origins refusing to take deportees back.

Hungary to release Syrian jailed over 2015 border riot
[PULSE.NG] Ahmed Hamed will be conditionally released from prison on January 19 and then expelled from the country, a court front man in Nyiregyhaza eastern Hungary told the Hungarian newswire MTI.

Hamed was accused of using a megaphone to orchestrate violence and throwing stones at Hungarian police to force them to open the border with Serbia in September 2015.

The festivities took place during the peak of Europe's migration crisis, a day after Prime Minister Viktor Orban's hardline anti-immigration government sealed the frontier with a razor wire fence.

During the unrest, several dozen migrants colonists tried to cross the fence into Hungary at the Roszke checkpoint while riot police used tear gas and water cannon to force them back onto Serbian territory.

Around 15 police and 100-150 migrants colonists were maimed, including children, prosecutors said. Hamed admitted throwing stones at police but denied being a terrorist.

Hamed, who had lived in EU member Cyprus for around a decade before the clash,
...then why was he coming in with the “migrants”?
was sentenced to 10 years in prison in November 2016 under anti-terrorism laws.

His conviction was later annulled over lack of evidence but after a retrial last September he was ordered to serve two-thirds of a five-year jail term - including time already spent in detention - and given an expulsion order from Hungary.

Both the US State Department and the European Parliament called the original 10-year verdict too severe, while Hungarian rights groups said it was the product of a "show trial".

Canada announces plans to welcome more than 1 million new immigrants
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The parliament of Canada has announced plans to welcome more than one million new immigrants colonists as permanent residents in coming three years.

The decision has reportedly been taken to offset Canada’s aging population and declining birth rate while growing its labor force.

Ahmed Hussen, Canada’s minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship (IRCC) has said "Thanks in great part to the newcomers we have welcomed throughout our history, Canada has developed into the strong and vibrant country we all enjoy."

The Canadian officials have said the country will likely welcome 350,000 new immigrants colonists during the current year while the number would grow to 360,000 in 2020 and 370,000 in 2021.

At least 286,000 new immigrants colonists were welcomed during the year 2017, according to the officials.

The latest announcement by Canada follows the restrictive immigration policies adopted by certain western countries including United States.

This comes as there has been an unprecedented rise in the levels of refugees during the recent the recent years with the UNHCR figures showing around 68.5 million people have been forcibly displaced.

India's Iranian oil imports slide in December under US pressure
[Ynet] India's oil imports from Iran fell by 41 percent in December to 302,000 barrels per day oil (bpd), ship tracking data reviewed by Rooters showed, as pressure from US sanctions took effect.

The United States introduced tough sanctions aimed at crippling Iran's oil revenue-dependent economy in November but gave a six-month waiver to eight nations, including India, which allowed them to import some Iranian oil.

'Attack on Chinese consulate in Karachi planned in Afghanistan with support of Indian agency'
[DAWN] Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
Police Chief Dr Amir Ahmed Sheikh during a media briefing on Friday said that the attack on the Chinese consulate in Karachi was planned in Afghanistan and carried out with the assistance of Indian intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW
... India's Research and Analysis Wing, Pakistain's equivalent of the Boogie Man...
In November last year, three heavily armed forces of Evil attempted to enter the Chinese consulate in the ’high security zone’ of Clifton’s Block-4 but were rubbed out in an encounter with law enforcers. The gun-and-grenade assault also claimed the lives of two police officials and two visa applicants, and injured a private guard of the foreign mission. The banned Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
Liberation Army (BLA) had claimed credit for the attack.

The additional inspector general of police disclosed that at least five controllers have been incarcerated
Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit!
so far from Karachi, Hub and Quetta during the probe.

He said that based on the police's investigation, the attack was aimed at sabotaging the China Pakistain Economic Corridor (CPEC) and meant to create trouble between Pakistain and China. "They wanted China to believe that Karachi is not [a] safe [city]."

Sharing the details of the attack, he said that the trained forces of Evil had been observing the consulate and particularly its visa section for almost four months. "They used to sit in the visa section of the consulate to observe when the gates open and other details."

"They transported weapons in a boat engine from Quetta to Karachi through train service," he said, adding that the weapons and other material were dumped at a house in Baldia Town area of Karachi.

"The forces of Evil used fake computerised national identity cards," he said. "We are writing to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Pakistain Railways to upgrade their security mechanism so that the facilities of the railways and the National Database & Registration Authority (Nadra) are not abused by terrorists."

He shared several photographs "recovered from the cell phones of the terrorists". One of the controllers was a cousin of Aslam alias Acho ‐ the alleged criminal mastermind of the attack ‐ while another was the brother-in-law of another high-profile terrorist, who is considered to be the second to Acho, said Sheikh.

Sheikh added that there were reports that Acho and some other high-profile forces of Evil had been killed in an attack in Afghanistan but he refused to believe the news until and unless he "sees the bodies or any solid proof".

It is an old tactic of forces of Evil to get themselves declared 'killed' to divert the attention of law enforcement agencies, he added.

US and Poland to stage international summit on Iran in February
[Rudaw] The United States will hold a world summit in February that will focus on countering Iran in the Middle East.

"I am pleased to announce that the US and Poland will jointly host the Ministerial to Promote a Future of Peace and Security in the Middle East in Warsaw," US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo tweeted on Friday evening.

"The ministerial will address a range of critical issues including terrorism and extremism, missile development and proliferation, maritime trade and security, and threats posed by proxy groups across the region," the State Department detailed in a release.

Speaking to Fox News earlier, Pompeo said the meeting will bring together dozens of nations and a focus will be "making sure that Iran is not a destabilizing influence."

Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif described the planned summit a "desperate anti-Iran circus."

"Reminder to host/participants of anti-Iran conference: those who attended last US anti-Iran show are either dead, disgraced, or marginalized. And Iran is stronger than ever," he tweeted along with a photograph from the 1996 Summit of Peacemakers.

The 1996 event, hosted by Egypt in Sharm el-Sheikh brought together the leaders of 27 nations in a show of support for the Middle East grinding of the peace processor. Attendees included US President Bill Clinton
...former Democratic president of the U.S. Bill was the second U.S. president to be impeached, the first to deny that oral sex was sex, the first to have difficulty with the definition of is...
, Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres, and Paleostinian Liberation Organization leader Yasser Arafat.
But this time it is being organized by President Trump, so we can expect it won’t be business as usual.
Iran was not invited.

Zarif also shamed Poland for hosting the conference, noting that Iran had hosted Polish refugees during War War Two.

Pompeo is currently on a Middle East tour, drumming up support for US sanctions against Iran.

The summit will take place on February 13 and 14.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Lebanon to file complaint at UN over Israel’s building of border wall
[IsraelTimes] Order by Lebanese FM to raise issue at Security Council comes amid IDF campaign to destroy Hezbollah attack tunnels that enter Israeli territory

Leb’s state-run National News Agency quoted Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil as calling the Israeli move a violation of a UN Security Council resolution that ended the 2006 war between Israel and the Hezbollah terror group.

The report said the complaint was about a part of the wall that was being built on the edge of the Lebanese border village of Kfar Kela.

Work on the security barrier began at the start of last year, with the joint IDF-Defense Ministry Borders and Security Fence Directorate having been cleared and received funding to build 13 kilometers (8 miles) of concrete walling along the approximately 130-kilometer (80-mile) border in order to protect the 22 adjacent Israeli villages.

Eventually the plan is to construct a barrier along the entire border ‐ a project that would cost NIS 1.7 billion ($470 million).

The concrete barrier is designed to serve two main functions: protect Israeli civilians and soldiers from sniper attacks, and prevent infiltration into Israel by Hezbollah operatives.

The Lebanese government has contested the construction of the new border wall from the onset, arguing that it violates Lebanese illusory sovereignty in some locations.

Leb has filed those complaints with the UN peacekeeping force UNIFIL, which acts as a liaison between Israel and Leb.

Some areas around the Israeli-Lebanese border are contested, with each country claiming the territory as its own ‐ for instance, the strip of land known by Israel as Mount Dov and by Leb as Sheba’a Farms.

Iran urges vigilance to foil US divisive policies, plots in Middle East
[PRESSTV] Iran has dismissed as unfounded recent allegations made by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo against the Islamic Theocratic Republic, urging all regional countries to heighten their vigilance in the face of the "divisive
...politicians call things divisive when when the other side sez something they don't like. Their own statements are never divisive, they're principled...
policies and plots" of American officials.

"The US, and in particular its current bully boy regime, due to [its] old hostility toward the land of the Medes and the Persians and opposition to all the previous [US] government's measures... is following a path which cannot be expected to bear any benefit for the US," Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi said on Friday.

Speaking at the American University in the Egyptian capital of Cairo on Thursday, Pompeo claimed that Iran is a "common enemy" of the US and other countries in the region.

"President Trump has reversed our willful blindness to the danger of the [Iranian] regime and withdrew from the failed nuclear deal, with its false promises," he added.

The US state secretary said that his country was working to reverse Iran's regional influence.

In reaction to Pompeo's claims, Qassemi said the current US administration is desperate and angry because it cannot find a replacement for a "comprehensive and legitimate" nuclear agreement, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), it has scrapped unilaterally.

US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...

, as "the worst and most one-sided transaction Washington has ever entered into."

Under the deal, reached between Iran and six major powers - the United States, Britannia, La Belle France, Germany, Russia and China - Tehran agreed to put limits on its nuclear program in exchange for the removal of nuclear-related sanctions.

France tells Iran to stop ballistic missile work designed for nuclear weapons
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] La Belle France on Friday called on Iran to immediately stop all activities linked to ballistic missiles that could carry nuclear weapons after Tehran said it could put two satellites into orbit in the coming weeks.

"La Belle France recalls that the Iranian missile program is not conform with UN Security Council Resolution 2231," Foreign ministry spokeswoman Agnes von der Muhll told news hounds in a daily briefing.

"It calls on Iran to immediately cease all ballistic missile-related activities designed to carry nuclear weapons, including tests using ballistic missile technology."

Von der Muhll was responding to comments by President Hassan Rouhani on Thursday, who said two satellites would be sent into space using Iran-made missiles.

Top Iranian commander says Israel ‘must be annihilated’
[ALMASDARNEWS] Brig. Gen. Mohammad Reza Naqdi, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Deputy Commander for Cultural and Social Affairs, said in an interview that Iran could easily defeat Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, and threatened to overrun American military bases in the Middle East.

In an interview that was originally conducted on 28 December by the Iraqi television network al-Nujab, but translated only Wednesday by the Middle East Media Research Institute, Naqdi said that the "Islamic revolution in Iran will not back down" from the goal of bringing defeat to Israel.

Naqdi, a former head of the Basij militia, said that there is no doubt that Israel must be "annihilated and destroyed" while adding that neither Russia nor any other country could intermediate.

"We were, we are, and we will continue to be the soldiers of Imam Khamenei until our last breath and until the last drop of our blood. I myself will hoist the flag of the Islamic Revolution in Jerusalem, Allah willing," the general said.
Allah Magic Eight Ball says: "No"
He also dismissed the possibility of a US attack in Iran: "America will not launch a war against Iran," he told the interviewer. "If it does ‐ a possibility that I rule out ‐ we will destroy all its military bases in the region. We currently stand before the gates and barbed wire [surrounding those bases], and if they make a wrong move, we will cross those barbed wire fences."

General called Arabia’s military capabilities as "very laughable." "We have a Farsi proverb that goes, ’You cannot compare an ant to an elephant.’ Saudi Arabia is incapable of controlling even its domestic front. It uses fighter planes to bomb small neighborhoods in Saudi Arabia. I believe that Saudi Arabia is much weaker than you might think.

US open to working with Russia to protect Kurds in Syria
[ALMASDARNEWS] The United States is open to having conversations with Russia about the need to ensure that Kurdish forces do not suffer after US troops withdraw from Syria, National Security Adviser John Bolton said in an interview on Friday.

"The Kurds are in a very difficult position, and the President [Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
], as he spoke with President Erdogan, thinks that we, they were loyal to us, and we must make sure that they’re not harmed," Bolton told the Hugh Hewitt radio show. "We’d talk to the Russians about it, too, if need be."

Bolton explained that Trump has asked Ottoman Turkish leader Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey...
to be particularly careful about those Kurds who have helped the United States fight terrorist groups in the region. The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...Qatar's colony in Asia Minor....
made such a commitment, Bolton said, but the situation has since changed and became more complicated.

Consequently, the United States continues military-to-military talks with Turkey and hopes to make progress on the matter, Bolton added.

Bolton’s interview comes nearly a month after Trump declared that ISIS* in Syria has been defeated and decided to withdraw US troops from the country.

The Trump administration later changed its approach from an immediate pull out to a gradual and condition-based withdrawal, and the uncertainty the changes among US partners in the region have prompted new discussions on the further steps on resolving the Syrian crisis.
