NSA Leaks Contradict What Soetoro Promised The Public About Russia's Election Meddling
[Daily Caller] Leaked NSA documents revealing that Russia engaged in election-related hacking efforts just days before the election directly contradict what former President Barack Obama told the American public.

Speaking at a year-end news conference in December, Obama told the public that Russian interference in the election ceased after he told Russian President Vladimir Putin to "cut it out" in early September. Russia’s cyberattacks stopped after warnings of "serious consequences" if they continued, Obama said.

"What I was concerned about in particular was making sure [the DNC hack] wasn’t compounded by potential hacking that could hamper vote counting, affect the actual election process itself," Obama said. "So in early September when I saw President Putin in China, I felt that the most effective way to ensure that that didn’t happen was to talk to him directly and tell him to cut it out and there were going to be serious consequences if he didn’t. And in fact we did not see further tampering of the election process."

"But the leaks through WikiLeaks had already occurred," Obama said, indicating that any further election interference was the result of emails released by WikiLeaks in the days and weeks leading up to the election.

‘Cash me outside' girl's summer tour postponed

*snort*
Fans of the infamous "Cash me outside" teen will have to wait to see her perform live ‐ her "summer tour" is being postponed until further notice, her manager Adam Kluger told The Post.

Danielle Bregoli, who's baffling rise to stardom began on an ill-fated episode of "Dr. Phil," was supposed to capitalize on her 15 minutes of fame with two "test shows" in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Houston originally scheduled for July 8 and 9, despite not having any actual musical or theatrical talent.

But her manager said the team is "pushing the shows back to align better with other initiatives."
"we're getting more selective in our audience"
"Due to an overwhelming response, we decided to look at larger venues and reschedule the events to better suit her growing audience as well as some significant professional developments. More information will be provided at a later date," Bregoli's representatives confirmed in a statement.

So far, they were unable to confirm when and where the new shows will take place.

Chicken snuggling could land you in a peck of trouble
[Denver Post] America’s love affair with backyard chickens is a tad too intimate, and it’s making some of us sick.

Just this year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says, eight separate salmonella outbreaks linked to contact with pet poultry have taken place in the United States, sickening more than 370 people in 47 states and hospitalizing 71.

No one has died in 2017 ‐ yet. In 2016, a record 895 people who consorted with fowl came down with the nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps and fever that characterize this infection, and three of them did not survive.

So the CDC is once again telling flock owners to hold back on the heavy petting. That’s not a metaphor: An agency study on the rise of these outbreaks found last year that nearly half of the hundreds of salmonella patients surveyed acknowledged "snuggling" baby birds, and 46 percent said they allowed their poultry in the house.

Baltimore starts tearing down 17,000 abandoned crack homes after decades of social decline
[Daily Mail] A dilapidated block of homes in Baltimore has been demolished as part of a $94 million project to tear down a chunk of the 17,000 abandoned homes in the neighborhood.

More than 800 crumbling homes have already been razed and this section of Herbert Street in West Baltimore is the latest to be reduced to rubble.

The homes - many of which are riddled with asbestos and lead paint - have come to symbolize the deep social divide in Baltimore.
Roofs have caved in on the abandoned rowhomes, boards are fastened to the doors and window frames and the streets are littered with garbage.

#3  Scroll down to the lament of a fed judge with his job.

I seem to recall the dictate of Federal Judiciary who imposed forced busing on these metro areas. The federal judiciary ignores its culpability in these matters. Social virtue is allowed to trump the consequences of reality in their hands. While all the Lefties decried the 'white flight' they ignored the upper and middle class black flight that real desegregation provide for. How much of the downward spiral for cities like Detroit and Baltimore could be traced to a combination of forced busing, decline in discipline (which further fueled the flight), and the lowering of academic standards (they're racist!) as parents of all colors took to the suburbs and elsewhere? /rhet question.

Tesla Inc. Spent $565K Lobbying for Fed Subsidies Musk Says He Doesn't Need
[Free Beacon] Tesla Inc. has spent more than $100,000 lobbying specifically on issues related to electronic vehicles and $450,000 lobbying the federal government overall over the last year and a half, according to lobbying disclosure records.

Despite the expenditures, Tesla CEO Elon Musk insists the company does not need such breaks. Musk publicly rebuked President Trump last week when announcing his decision to quit a White House advisory board over Trump's decision to leave the Paris climate accord.

Musk and Tesla shifted their lobbying strategy in recent months in an apparent attempt to try to reach Republicans in Congress and the Trump administration more effectively on "green" energy issues benefitting his companies.

SolarCity, a solar energy company that Musk merged into Tesla Inc. last fall, earlier this year parted ways with two major Democratic lobbying firms--Podesta Group and Roberti Global--and hired at least one Republican lobbying firm instead.

Afghan arrested for forcibly taking wife across border
[DAWN] LANDI KOTAL: Pak border guards on Sunday placed in durance vile
Book 'im, Mahmoud!
an Afghan national at Torkham while trying to forcibly take his young Pak wife to Afghanistan.

Officials said that 18-year-old Pak girl started crying when her aged Afghan husband tried to take her across the border with forged documents.

Hearing the cries and pleadings of the girl, border guards took both of them into custody. Upon investigations it was revealed that the real father of the girl had died some time back and later her stepfather sold her to an Afghan, three times her age.

The aggrieved girl told the security guards that she was married against her will and her Afghan husband now wanted to take her to Afghanistan after obtaining forged travel documents for her.

Security guards lodged the Afghan national at FC lockup in Landi Kotal.

Officials said fate of the aggrieved girl would be decided in accordance with her own will.

Home Front: Culture Wars
It's official, Tesla owners are crap drivers
[Fender Bender] June 5, 2017—Citing a report from the Highway Loss Data Institute (HLDI), AAA argues Tesla cars crash more often than average and are more expensive to repair, according to Left Lane. Thus, AAA has made it more expensive to insure a Tesla Model S or a Model X.

After examining the HLDI report, AAA concluded Tesla cars crash more often than comparable models, and they're considerably more expensive to repair. The data covered cars from the 2014, 2015 and 2016 model years.

The report suggests the rear-wheel drive Model S is involved in 46 percent more accidents than average, while repair costs are over 50 percent higher than the industry average. Those percentages check in at 41 and 89 percent, respectively, for the Model X. As a result, Tesla owners insured through AAA will soon see a 30 percent hike in insurance rates.

Tesla re-iterated that the Model S is one of the safest cars on the market, and criticized how the insurance company analyzed HLDI's data.

Acting U.S. Ambassador to China Resigns Over Pullout from Climate Pact
[Free Beacon] The acting U.S. ambassador to China resigned on Monday to protest President Trump's decision to withdraw from the Paris climate change accord.

David Rank, a senior Foreign Service officer who was deputy chief of mission at the Beijing embassy, told staff members he quit rather than issue a formal U.S. diplomatic note to the Chinese government on the withdrawal, according to State Department officials.

"Mr. Rank made a personal decision. We appreciate his years of dedicated service to the State Department," said one official.

The resignation highlights the level of politicization that has taken place in key U.S. government agencies during the Obama administration.
