Outsourcing Firm Lead Pleads Guilty to H-1B Fraud
[Breitbart] A California-based businesswoman who runs an outsourcing firm to replace American tech workers pleaded guilty to H-1B visa fraud.

Sridevi Aiyaswamy of Strataserv Inc. in San Jose, California, pleaded guilty in federal court after she fraudulently brought foreign guest workers on the H-1B visa to the United States by falsely claiming they had already secured jobs in the country when they had not, according to Mercury News.

Aiyaswamy brought 25 foreign nationals to the U.S. on H-1B visas by telling immigration officials that jobs were waiting at Cisco Systems, Inc.

Every year, more than 100,000 foreign guest workers come to the U.S. on the H-1B visa, replacing Americans in the tech, medical, fashion, and other industries.

Strataserv, Aiyaswamy’s outsourcing firm, previously worked with some of the largest outsourcers including Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco Systems, IBM, Amazon, Yahoo!, and Apple.

Aiyaswamy pleaded guilty to three of the 34 counts she was charged with, admitting to the H-1B visa fraud. The woman now faces a maximum 10-year prison sentence and a $250,000 fine.

Feds Subsidized Housing for Nonexistent 'Ghost' Tenants
[Free Beacon] The Department of Housing and Urban Development spent over $500,000 on apartments for people who "did not exist," according to the agency's inspector general.
Apparently there were no comments regarding potential voting irregularities, food stamps fraud, or fraudulent Social Security check cashing among the ghost residents.
An audit released last month found that managers of Section 8 housing in Jefferson County, Texas, defrauded the government by stealing the identities of former tenants and falsifying incomes.

The government subsidizes the rent of 99 units at Beverly Place Apartments in Groves, Texas, and paid the complex $1.8 million between January 2013 and December 2015.

"Beverly Place's owner did not administer its project-based Section 8 program in accordance with HUD regulations," the inspector general said. "Specifically, the owner billed HUD for at least 97 tenants who did not exist or whose income eligibility was either falsified or unsupported."

The inspector general noted that "nonexistent tenants" were ghost tenants who either never lived in the apartment building or were past tenants who had moved out.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
For Commodore Frank
[RoadAndTrack] Ford is pursuit rating all the things lately; it even applied the cop-readiness moniker to a Fusion hybrid earlier this year. Now comes a far different pursuit machine, based on the 2018 F-150.
Drink up!
In both cases, the term "pursuit rated" is better viewed as a measure of each machine's ability to slide into typical patrol duty more than any notion of chasing down baddies at triple-digit speeds. Besides, this F-150 can only reach 100 mph. Need we list the number of modern cars capable of 101?

As such, Ford rightly has positioned its latest creation to appeal to rural cops, fish-and-game outfits, and the border patrol. The truck's 375-hp, twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 and four-wheel drive make it perfect for towing up to 7000 pounds of, say, nautical patrol vehicles or for crawling around off-road. Its rugged steel frame, underbody skid plates, and FX4 off-road suspension should give it pothole- and curb-jumping abilities similar to those of other "pursuit rated" vehicles.

Other cop-specific items include a vinyl-covered rear seat that's easily, er, washed, as well as special cloth front seats with anti-stab plates to protect front-seat officers from back-seat attackers. The gauge cluster includes engine-hour and idle-hour meters, the shifter is on the steering column, and a 240-amp alternator helps power the numerous lights and electronics used in modern police cars. To aid the F-150's stopping and turning abilities, Ford fits upgraded brake calipers and pads and a new front anti-roll bar.

Just a word of warning: If you see one of these towing a boat for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, don't assume they can't pull you over for speeding. Just trust us on that one.

Princeton University's 'men's engagement manager' to battle aggressive masculinity
[FOX News] Do men at Princeton University need special guidance so that they don’t become violent, aggressive stalkers or rapists?

A paid position at the Ivy League school -- part of its Sexual Harassment/Assault Advising, Resources and Education (SHARE) office – focuses on “ … promoting an environment for healthy male social development by challenging belief systems and social constructs that contribute to violence …”

Colleges and universities across the country have been grappling with how to address what seems to some like an increasing number of reported sexual assaults on campus – sometimes referred to as a campus “rape culture” -- with decidedly mixed results and even some backlash.

#3  “With plans for ‘compulsory accountability program for students accused of sexual misconduct under Title IX,’ this appears once more that Princeton is getting involved in places it lacks the skill set to handle,” said Gainor, noting the job posting uses the term accused, not convicted. “In other words, if you are a parent, don’t send your sons to Princeton.”

With a very broad definition of misconduct which includes merely looking at a person's attributes and the high crime of telling a woman she's sexy.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Dnepropetrovsk massacre cause was bad business deal

The six men who were shot Monday in the Dnepropetrovsk massacre, two fatally, were shot over an apparent unpaid bill, according to Russian languages news accounts.

One of the wounded, Edmond Sahakyan, a lawyer, a veteran and volunteer in the war in southeastern Ukraine, said that the meet was set up to discuss apartment construction in Dnepropetrovsk with a well known local businessman.

Among those shot was Sahakyan's brother, Edward Sahakyan, whom Sahakyan said was the cause of the meet.

The local businessman who had built the apartment for Edward Sahakyan was identified as Sholom Nakhshon, a well known Jewish community leader in Dnepropetrovsk.

According to the report in Russkaya Vesna, Nakhshon had demanded payment for an apartment he built for Edward, which apparently had not been paid by the time of the meet. The report said that total of the bill was USD $119,000.

According to the article, after some blood was splayed over the door 10 days before at his brother's apartment, Sahakyan called and set up a meeting to resolve the issue, to which Nakhshon agreed.

The meeting was friendly at first, and Nakhshon even appeared there, but later things became heated and a car with the shooters appeared. One of the shooters at the outset of the meeting shoved a revolver into Sahakyan's gut and issued a verbal death threat. Another shooter had a short barreled AKS-74 rifle, known as the Krinkov. Sahakyan said that Nakhshon appeared to be surprised when the shooting started.

The shooting began when Sahakyan left the meeting to get a rifle, which was identified as a Vulcan .44 Magnum pump-action carbine, which was in his car. When he opened the truck he was fired on, by a shooter with an AK-74 rifle from one side and a shotgun from the other. Sahakyan was hit four times.

According to Sahakyan, all six men were veterans in the civil war in southeastern Ukraine.

Video of the shooting can be seen here.

Khadija stabbing case: Court refuses to delete attempted murder clause
[DAWN] A judicial magistrate at Cantonment Courts on Monday dismissed five different applications filed by the prosecution and defence in Khadija Siddiqui stabbing case, including one for cancellation of attempted murder clause in the FIR.

Ms Siddiqui, a law student, was allegedly attacked by her class fellow, Shah Husain, on May 3, 2016, near Shimla Hill where she along with her driver had gone to pick her younger sister from school.

Both sisters were about to get into their car when helmet-wearing suspect attacked Khadija with a knife and stabbed her 23 times leaving her critically injured.

Civil Lines police had started the paperwork but haven't done much else against Shah Husain on charges of attempted murder. The suspect is happened to be son of a lawyer, Tanvir Hashmi.

During the trial proceedings on Monday, the defence counsel requested the court in writing that the offence of attempted murder should be deleted from the FIR. He also asked the court to summon a prosecution witness again for cross-examination.

Police foil minor girl's marriage to 33-year-old man in Umerkot
[DAWN] Police raided a marriage ceremony in Sindh's Umerkot district late Monday night, foiling a bid to marry off a minor girl with a 33-year-old man.

A police team headed by Station House Officer (SHO) Vijay Khatri recovered the 11-year-old girl from the wedding ceremony in Umerkot's Bakhtawar Colony where she was due to marry Ahmed Arisar, a man thrice her age.

Police took the minor girl into custody and tossed in the calaboose
Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages!
the groom, while others present at the scene managed to flee.

The groom's mother, who belonged to Rantnor village of Thar, told the police that her family had "purchased the girl" by paying Rs130,000 to the girl's father, Qadir Bux.
That's US$1,234.17. Pakistani rupees aren't worth much nowadays. Were the sum in Indian rupees, the girl would have been worth $2,017.10.
"We are not aware of any law that prohibits underage marriage," she claimed.
Now you know, though it's a law more honoured in the breach, like so much els in Pakistan.
Police on behalf of the state registered a First Information Report (FIR) under sections 2, 3 and 4 of the Sindh Child Marriages Restraint Act, 2013 against eight people, including the fathers of both the minor girl and the groom, the nikah khawan Moulvi Qurban Ali Halepoto, and four other people of the Arisar community who had "brokered the deal".

India's Supreme Court to consider abortion plea from 10-year-old rape victim
[DAWN] Doctors on Wednesday will examine a 10-year-old girl raped by her uncle, as India's top court considers whether she should be allowed to have an abortion despite strict laws.

The girl's parents went to the Supreme Court after their appeal to abort the 26-week foetus was rejected by a lower authority, despite warnings that her body was not ready for childbirth.

Indian law does not allow medical terminations after 20 weeks unless there is a threat to the mother's life. But the Supreme Court agreed to hear the appeal, ordering doctors to conduct a medical examination and report back before a ruling is given on Friday.

The girl's pregnancy was only discovered recently after her parents took her to a hospital when she complained of stomach pain.

Indian courts have considered many pleas from rape victims seeking permission to terminate pregnancies following abuse.

In many cases, the women only discovered they were pregnant when late in their term.

In May, the top court allowed a 10-year-old rape victim from the northern state of Haryana to abort her nearly 21-week foetus.

India has a grim record of sexual assaults on minors with 20,000 cases of rape or sexual assaults reported in 2015, according to government data.

A UN Committee on the Rights of the Child in 2014 said that one in three rape victims in India was a minor and expressed alarm at the widespread sexual abuse of children.

Almost 50 per cent of the abusers are known to the victims.

Sex -- whether consensual or otherwise -- with a person aged below 18 is considered rape in India.

William Shatner Blasts ‘Social Justice Warriors' Who Criticize Trump
William Shatner is such a smarty pants on twitter. He gets his snarky point across with few words.

Shatner has been the subject of left-wing anger since he announced in May that he would not follow the lead of many in Hollywood and attack President Donald Trump.

Shatner, a Canadian, said, "I consider myself a guest here," when asked to comment on former Star Trek cast member George Takei’s constant criticisms of the President.

On Twitter Wednesday morning, the Captain Kirk actor was asked his plans for the day. He responded by saying, "Tweet Hello. Have SJWs get offended by figuring some obtuse way to define it. Spend my day telling them off. You know, just a typical day."
...
Fellow actor Adam Baldwin asked Shatner if social justice warriors "ever explain the difference between their ’social justice’ and Justice?"
...
The tweets go on with one person on the left saying that progressives gave shatter his career back...

Shatner simply replied, "How so?"

LOL!
The next Star Trek reunion may be some fun to watch!
