Hundreds rally in Chicano Park to ‘defend' murals
[Fox5SanDiego] Hundreds of people showed up in Chicano Park Sunday for what was planned to be a peaceful gathering of solidarity to defend Chicano Park against what they say is expressions of hatred to immigrants and minorities in San Diego.

However, an hour into the rally emotions quickly escalated when an expected group of citizens showed up for what they call a "Patriot Picnic."

"Patriot Fire" conservative blogger Roger Ogden, who told FOX 5 he was not affiliated with any extremist groups, and a few other people planned to have lunch at 1 p.m. while discussing and touring the murals at Chicano Park.

Ogden said what prompted the meeting was the removal of the confederate plaque of Jefferson Davis from Horton Plaza park last month. He said if the plaque had to go then the murals at Chicano Park should go, too.

"We weren’t going down to destroy the murals or anything. We were just going down to have a look in a public park," said Ogden. "They should move it somewhere else on private property or whatever but the city should not fund subversive revolutionary anti-American art on that public land."

Many people, including faith-based groups, learned of Ogden's plan to be at the park and went to the park to "defend" it.

"This is holy grounds. We don’t want any violence. For many of us these murals have deep spiritual significance," said Father John Author with Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic church.

"There was some social media expressions attempting to gather some extremist, white supremacists to come to the park to scope it out - almost like a reconnaissance mission for future action," said Mario Chacon with the Chicano Park Steering Committee.

Park committee organizers said Sunday's event was an example of hatred and it will not be tolerated.

"For him to say he was here to have pizza at Chicano Park is very hard to believe," said Chacon.

San Diego police officers divided the two groups in order to keep violence from breaking out. San Diego police helped facilitate the safe removal of Ogden and his group once they decided to leave.

"I kind of expected something like this," said Odgen as he was leaving the park.

San Diego Police Chief Shelly Zimmerman also showed up at the rally and was present when the rally escalated.

"We were very aware of what was going to happen here at the park so we had resources in place as you saw. A lot of staffing [was] in place in case things did turn," said Zimmerman.

Chicano Park is park located beneath the San Diego-Coronado Bridge in Barrio Logan, a predominantly Mexican American and Mexican-immigrant community.
Notice the quote from Shelly Zimmerman? Quite a difference between her and the local pols in Virginia.

Also, there are indeed depictions among the Chicano Park murals that glorify such offensive characters as Che Guevara and Fidel Castro...indisputably racists slogans as well. I'm not saying what to do here, just wondering, if you start with Robert E. Lee then where does it stop?

Church of Flying Spaghetti Monster seeks recognition in German court
The persecution of Pastafarians is unjust, according to the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, which is turning to the Constitutional Court in Germany to have its members’ religious rights recognized.

"We believe that a satirical religion should have the same rights as other religions," chairman of the Church, Rüdiger Weida, told DW on Monday. Members of the Church are bound for the Constitutional Court after local and regional courts sided with authorities in the northeastern town of Templin, who removed signs advertising a gathering of members to enjoy noodles and beer.

William And Kate Expecting Third Child
[NPR.ORG] Way to go, prince and princess!
An heir and possibly a spare.
Charles, Prince of Wales is the heir to the throne, his son Prince William, Duke of Cambridge is second in line, Williams's son Prince George is third, George's sister Princess Charlotte is fourth, and little question mark will be fifth. When Katherine was pregnant the first time, a law was passed ending primogeniture and alloweing daughters equal right to place in the line of succession. See here for more. William and Kate are very much on trend for their generation -- those who feel financially secure seem to be having three or four children rather than just one or two.

Egypt finalizes deal with Russia for first nuclear plant
In a country battling both ISIS and the Muslim Brotherhood, where the soldiers' guns and sandles are both held together by duct tape, they're going to build a nuclear power plant, with the requirements fior security and precise operation and maintenance.
[Ynet] Russian media say Egypt has finalized a deal to build a nuclear power plant with funding from Moscow after nearly two years of negotiations.

The reports Monday came after Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi met with Russian President Vladimir Putin
...Second and fourth President and sixth of the Russian Federation and the first to remain sober. Putin is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from polonium poisoning. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to Putin. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead...
in China, where they were attending a summit.

The nuclear plant will be built in Dabaa, about 130 kilometers (80 miles) northwest of Cairo on the Mediterranean coast.

Egypt's presidency says el-Sissi has invited Putin to Egypt to mark the start of construction.

In 2015, Egypt signed an agreement with Russia to build a four-reactor power plant. It will receive a $25 billion Russian loan to cover 85 percent of the plant, with a capacity of 4,800 MW.

Colombia, ELN rebels agree temporary ceasefire starting Oct. 1
[REUTERS] Colombia and the Marxist ELN rebel group said on Monday they agreed a temporary ceasefire that would run through mid-January 2018, but it would not be in effect when Pope Francis arrives in the Andean country for a visit later this week.

The ceasefire, the first with the ELN, is due to begin on Oct. 1 and end on Jan. 12, with the possibility for extensions if it is respected, President Juan Manuel Santos said in a televised address to the country.

"The priority is to protect citizens, so during this period, kidnappings, attacks on oil pipelines and other hostilities against the civilian population will cease," he said.

The two sides have long said the pope’s visit would be a good opportunity to call a ceasefire. The government said details and verification methods were still being finalized and that was why the ceasefire did not begin immediately.

North Korea seen moving ICBM-grade rocket towards west coast
[Reuters] SEOUL - North Korea has been observed moving what appeared to be an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) towards its west coast, South Korea’s Asia Business Daily reported on Tuesday, citing an unidentified intelligence source.

The rocket started moving on Monday, a day after North Korea’s sixth nuclear test, and was spotted moving at night to avoid surveillance, the report said. North Korea has launch facilities for its missile program on its west coast.

South Korea’s defense ministry said they were unable to confirm the contents of the report. The ministry said in parliament on Monday that North Korea was considered ready to launch more missiles, including ICBMs, at any time.

U.S. envoy says North Korean leader 'begging for war' as U.N. mulls sanctions
[REUTERS] The United States accused North Korea’s trading partners on Monday of aiding its nuclear ambitions and said Pyongyang was "begging for war" after the North’s powerful nuclear test on Sunday and signs that further missile launches were on the way.
Believing your own propaganda is a dangerous thing.
South Korea said it was talking to Washington about deploying aircraft carriers and strategic bombers to the Korean peninsula.

U.S. President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...

...current chancellor of Germany and the impetus behind Germany's remarkably ill-starred immigration program. Merkel used to be referred to by Germans as Mom...
, and the White House declared that "all options to address the North Korean threat are on the table."

If North Korea Has Nuclear ICBM, China WILL Invade by 9/11
[TruNews] According to a DIA official assigned specifically to monitor North Korea, the secret "working" agreement was negotiated as an unofficial understanding between the two superpowers, and could result in a Chinese invasion of the Korean Peninsula between now and September 11th.

The source, who spoke to TruNews Correspondent Edward Szall through a proxy on Sunday night, and must remain unnamed due to his official capacity as a veteran member of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), said both the U.S. and China are actively investigating the claims made by North Korea on Sunday, that they have successfully tested a miniaturized nuclear device and possess the technology to effectively mount it on a ballistic missile.

The source noted that if the Chinese are convinced the warhead North Korean state media showed Kim Jong-un inspecting Sunday at the "Nuclear Weapons Institute" is indeed a miniaturized homemade hydrogen bomb, they will launch an invasion of North Korea and annex it within the next week.

"If China rolls their army into North Korea, and annexes the country in the next week, we know he [Kim Jong-un] had miniaturized nukes," the DIA source said.

Regarding the question of why no Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system has been used thus far to shoot down any North Korea’s missiles, the DIA official said it is out of fear that they will fail to effectively accomplish their mission.

A failure of the THAAD system would be devastating for the U.S., and the equipments U.S.-based manufacturer, Lockheed Martin, as well as NATO itself, who uses the system as a way to convince other countries to buy U.S. weaponry and remain in their anti-Russia defense alliance.

A THAAD system failure would also benefit the Russians, who offer their S-300/S-400/S-500 air defense system as an alternative to prospective nations in the market for effective missile deterrence. The Russians already have an advantage based on the reports in April that S-300 & S-400 batteries based in Syria successfully brought down up to half of the incoming 60 Tomahawk missiles launched by the Trump administration against a Syrian airfield.

Additionally, Russia has a motivation to convince nations to adopt their opposing system because once a nation accepts it, the diplomatic door is opened for further non-NATO weapon purchases and an expansion of military cooperation, NATO member Turkey being a recent example.
I would have stopped reading at 'Dennis Rodman as an effective intelligence source,' but sadly, I had already reached the end of the article.

#2  I'm sorry but I don't believe a word of the idea of China invading North Korea. I think you can wipe your ass on your wishful thinking. Its demeaning to even hear it stated. The Clintons sold us out years ago with their "deals" with the Norks. And the US may be prudent but the fact is the US is weak and can't get it up and the American people are weak and won't back a war for ANY reason. The American people are punks ,obese, on drugs and skate boarding.
America doesn't have the balls to fight a war, plus there isn't enough human grit to last ten minutes with the quality of youth and their fat moms and dads chugging beer and eating cheats to back out and bugger off.

The Chinese are going to rescue us from Kim ? Bend over and let the wind give your breezy balls a thrill.

And the reason the US hasn't shot down the Nork missiles is we don't have the technical reach or the capability . And the reason we have to tolerate Kim is the simple fact that the old saw about winning a land war in Asia...is true. We won't attack NKorea because we can't win.
And the Chinese are NOT going ro lift a finger...that are going to watch us sweat and grin.

#5  There are so many things wrong with this article.

1) You should always be leery of any sight that calls itself TruNews, true news, or anything like that.
2) Just because someone is from the CIA, DIA, or NSA doesn't mean that person is sane, or even close to it.
3)Are we sure they have an H-bomb? The Nokors have said they do, but as this graph shows, the explosion is well within fission capabilities.
4)Fitting any kind of bomb onto a missle is much more difficult than fitting it onto an airplane or having a static test.
5)The "best case" wargame scenarios still leave SKOR with 80,000 civilian dead and the northern 10% of S Korea devastated. The best case assumes NOKOR doesn't use nuclear weapons.
6)The Chinese are not going to invade North Korea. That would be doing our dirty work and them paying the cost. They want us to do their dirty work and us pay the cost.
7)Be careful what you wish for. Any Chinese invasion will be accompanied by an extension of a Chinese nuclear umbrella over N Korea.

#3  I wonder what they mean by 'lower labor standards'? That the workmanship is lower for non-union (I didn't know unions guaranteed performance - someone call the school district!). I don't really see that between a non union NC build car and an Union built Detroit car (maybe even the reverse...).

I think in a non-right-to-work-state, Especially in a you-must-join-the-union-to-work environment like Washington State Teachers, the union should be held financally and legally responsible for their members. If teacher John fondles little student Mary after school the Union should share some of the blame and financial cost in any lawsuits - and if they knew about John's tendancies - criminal charges as well.
