PIERS MORGAN: When it comes to terror, isn’t it time we started listening seriously to Trump?
[DAILYMAIL.CO.UK] How many more?

That’s all I could think this morning as news broke of yet another ISIS terror attack, this time in Brussels.

How many more innocent men, women and kiddies are going to be blown to pieces by these murderous bastards?

How many more airports, train stations, sports stadiums, restaurants or concert halls will be obliterated in a hail of suicide bombs and bullets?

How many more world leaders will wring their hands on national television afterwards and spout pointless platitudes about the ‘poor brave victims’ and ‘heroic emergency services’?

How many taunting, gleeful claims of responsibility will the despicable perpetrators of these evil crimes be able to issue?

I’m sick of this, aren’t you?

Sick of feeling sick about such endless, senseless barbarism.

And the worst thing about it is that I see no end.

The inherent problem which causes it, chaotic war-torn instability in the Middle East, is getting worse, not better; just as the financial and military resource of the enemy is growing greater, not reducing.

Yet just as the world is crying out for strong decisive leadership, there is none.

America has a demob happy President B.O. eeking out his last few months in office. A man whose infamous ‘leading from behind’ philosophy to foreign policy has been partly responsible for the war in Syria raging uncontrollably for five years -- allowing fundamentalism to ferment.

Obama has zero interest in doing anything tangible to really deal with ISIS. This is now parked in the tray marked ‘next president’s problem.’

Europe, meanwhile, is splintering at the seams, ravaged by an unprecedented migration crisis that nobody seems to have a clue how to handle.

German chancellor Angela Merkel
...current chancellor of Germany. She was educated in East Germany when is was still run by commies, but in 1989 got involved with the growing democracy movement when the Berlin Wall fell. Merkel is sometimes referred to by Germans as Mom...
’s decision to let a million migrants colonists into its country is already seen to be an utter disaster.

La Belle France, reeling from two horrendous attacks in Gay Paree, is understandably highly fearful of yet more terror coming its way.

Belgium officials effectively conceded today that they have no real way to protect themselves against the ISIS threat. A fact surely born out by the fact that today’s onslaught in Brussels happened right when the city most expected it, following the capture of Gay Paree attacks suspect Saleh Abdeslam three days ago.

Britannia, surely a target anytime soon, is on red alert but its warring politicians are too distracted by the upcoming EU referendum in June to pay anything more than lame lip service to terrorism.

So nobody seems to be doing anything concrete to stop ISIS, or even suggesting a new way to do so given the spectacular lack of success to date.

Well almost nobody.

By coincidence, I had an interview scheduled today with the world’s most controversial man, Donald Trump, for my UK show, Good Morning Britannia.

It was set up a couple of weeks ago, but the timing was eerily prescient.

Here is one man who definitely has a plan to deal with ISIS terrorism. Several plans in fact.

The problem is that people don’t like them. Well, a lot of people don’t anyway.

Trump, current front-runner for the Republican nomination, wants to hit ISIS ‘so hard they never recover’.

(As he told me: ‘You've got to take them out and you've got to take them out harshly and you've got to take them out fast.’)

He also wants a short-term ban on Muslims entering the U.S. until, as he puts it, ‘we figure out what the hell is going on?’

And he wants to torture suspects like Abdeslam with techniques like water-boarding to try and extract information about future attacks.

Oh, and he wants to build a giant wall to stop illegal immigrants colonists pouring over the Mexican border into America.

#1  Have Piers undergone some experience what caused him to grow up & join the human race?

#2  Apparently Piers figured out which side his bread is buttered on and wants to come back.
Posted by: gorb || 03/23/2016 3:59 Comments || Top||

#3  Don't expect him to give up the deep irrational hatred of colonialism and American intervention when it plays and pays.

You are living with the consequences of the anti-Western cancer that has metastasized through the intelligentsia. For Europe, it's beyond recovery. For America, we'll see.

#4  Piers will change his mind in a week.

The real problem is two-fold and they are related. One is radical Jihad, and the other is self-loathing among the Liberals.

Piers wants one solved without having to deal with the other but that won't work.

If we figure out what the hell is going on the ban will become permanent.

Home Front: WoT
Yes, America, it's war. Here's how we can stop losing and start winning
BLUF: [Fox News Kathleen Troia "KT" McFarland]

Our strategy needs:

- An economic component that bankrupts radical jihad by cutting off their oil revenues - attacking their oil fields, refineries and tankers -- while we also develop our own resources to be energy independent of Arab oil.

- A banking component that uses the US primacy in international banking and finance to freeze out any country or company that does business with radical Islamists from ISIS to Boko Haram.

- An alliance component that draws together moderate Muslims into an alliance against radical Islam. If they’re reluctant to join an anti-Islamist alliance, we should let them know they shouldn’t come running to us if things don’t work out. We should call them out if they have some in their inner circles that play both sides.

And we may have to hold our noses and partner with countries we do not always approve of, as we did during World War II.

- An anti-hostage component -- we will not negotiate, exchange prisoners with nor pay ransom to terrorists. If you take our people hostage, we will turn the tables on you and put a very large bounty on your heads. We promise to hunt down kill anyone who kills our citizens, no matter now long it takes.

- A communications component which champions western values, like we had during WWII and the Cold War. Violent radical Jihad and western civilization are NOT morally equivalent. No apology tour, no comparing the Crusades to ISIS. Be proud of America or be quiet.

- An Internet component that blocks their online recruiting and training efforts and uses metadata to track and destroy terrorist leaders.

- A religious and ideological component which applauds moderate Muslim leaders -- like Egyptian President Sisi and the Grand Imam of Al Ahzar Mosque- who speak out against radical Islam.

- And finally, a military component which does not, repeat does not, require thousands of American combat forces, but rather gives our allies every inducement and all the arm twisting necessary so they put their own boots on the ground. And which supplies them with whatever they need to do the job

#6  In August 1988 Al Qaeda was formed in Afghanistan and its members then declared war on the West. A decade later AQ and its satraps met in Afghanistan and specifically declared war on the USA. In effect, for more than a quarter-century dedicated Islamists have been at war with us while our political leaders and the catamites that inhabit Foggy Bottom have dithered and refused to acknowledge that we are at war with a committed enemy.

#7  I don't give one single fuck about "moderate Muslims" and I'm more than a little tired of having other people pretend that they are somehow magically part of the solution.

#8  1. Assassinate or arrest preachers that preach Jihad. Eventually you will see replacement preachers who find the more peaceful sections of the Quran to their liking.

2. Remove any tax-exempt status from Mosques and consider them under whatever tax laws cover political organizations. Tax the crap out of them.

3. Let the Saudi's know that the West is at a breaking point and Mecca is likely to be targeted if they don't stop funding Jihad-encouraging mosques around the world. If they ignore the threat carpet bomb the empty roads into Mecca and destroy the ports that service haj. If that message is ignored carry through with threats against Mecca or the Royals.

#9  Just as the politically incompetent lead to the rise of Trump, the same incompetent people are going to result in the rise of Jacksonian solutions for problems like this.

Lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way.

#10  That whole boots on the ground thing is going to be interesting. Relatively few of the countries in the region are into that. Egypt is pretty good about putting its army to work, the Kurds will fight to the death, and Saudi-controlled Arabia just demonstrated that it could get something done in Yemen. But Iraq, Afghanistan, Tunisia, Lebanon, and so on just don't have the ability, martial ardor, and willingness to come together to defend flag and country.

And let's not even mention first world countries that have no excuse, like Germany, Belgium and Italy. If Belgium won't fight Islamic terror, why should we expect the Libyans to do so?

So the notion that we'll give our allies 'every inducement' to fight on their own against terrorism is likely to come up short.

#11  We should plan our answer to things like this via this adage, "What would the Romans do?"
Posted by: Silentbrick || 03/23/2016 11:04 Comments || Top||

#12  If we do have to use our military don't tie both its hands behind its back and hobble it's ankles with a stupid Rules Of Engagement.

Treat Terrorists and illegal combatants exactly as the Geneva Convention specifies. The get zero Geneva Convention protections. Same goes for countries which do not to follow the GC or sponsor organizations which do not follow the GC (I'm looking at you Iran!).
Posted by: CrazyFool || 03/23/2016 11:44 Comments || Top||

#13  Dunno about "flag and country" but they'll fight well enough for their tribe iff there's a clear threat to their tribe from Daesh. And that's a dynamic thing, and we're no good at the Great Game.

#15  And let's not fool ourselves--not one damn thing of any substance will be done in response to this, just like not one damn thing of any substance was done after the Paris bombing. The "leaders" of the free world are pussies who care only that their checks they draw from the rest of us continue to clear the bank.

#17  Start at home. Put 50 calibers on the border and shoot anyone crossing illegally.

You must be new here, and so don't know that we do not say things that can be construed as a physical threat to Americans or American politicians.

Of course not. That might help actually solve the problem which politicians are loath to do. Have you ever seen a problem or crisis which was actually solved by a politician lately? War on Drugs - no -worse off. War on Poverty - no -worse off. War on Terror - no -worse off. War on BLANK - no -worse off.

Olde Tyme Religion
5 Ways To Tell If Your Religion Has a Terrorism Problem
[DailyWire] Here's the sad reality: Islam has a terrorism problem. Of course. You'd have to a dolt not to notice this, you'd have to be a useful idiot to ignore it, or you'd have to be slave to an evil ideology of multiculturalism to cover it up. Obama and his leftist friends are one of those three.

Here are five signs one particular religion may have a terrorism problem.

The last letter of the religion is "m".
The name of the religion starts with the letter "I".
The next-to-last letter of the religion is "a".
The middle letter of the religion is "l".

#3  Seems that Islam was hijacked for moderates for centuries while they knew they were weak. The moderates were overthrown now that they smell blood in the water from Western self-loathing.

I suspect the west is waking up. I'm not sure if Brussels was enough but after Rotherham, Paris, and Brussels a number are starting to rub their eyes and look around.

American Muslim: Yes, the Koran Really is the Problem
[USAToday] As a young Muslim boy growing up in the 1980s and 1990s, it was impossible for me to look up a hadith unless I traveled to an Islamic library, something I would have never thought to do. For all intents and purposes, if I wanted to know about the traditions of Muhammad, I had to ask imams or elders in my tradition of Islam. That is no longer the case today. Just as radical Islamists may spread their message far and wide online, so, too, the Internet has made the traditions of Muhammad readily available for whoever wishes to look them up, even in English. When everyday Muslims investigate the Quran and hadith for themselves, bypassing centuries of tradition and their imams' interpretations, they are confronted with the reality of violent jihad in the very foundations of their faith.

The Quran itself reveals a trajectory of jihad reflected in the almost 23 years of Muhammad's prophetic career. As I demonstrate carefully in my book, Answering Jihad: A Better Way Forward, starting with peaceful teachings and proclamations of monotheism, Muhammad's message featured violence with increasing intensity, culminating in surah 9, chronologically the last major chapter of the Quran, and its most expansively violent teaching. Throughout history, Muslim theologians have understood and taught this progression, that the message of the Quran culminates in its ninth chapter.
First Large Circulation Pub to carry this kind of admission by a muslim. Of course, the writer's solution, which is pan_Islamic agreement on a unitary metaphorical meaning of the violent verses is impossible to execute but still.
