The latest spin out of Washington is that stock-market declines over the last 10 days are due to Donald Trump’s surge in the polls. Wall Street tends to hate change, even when it’s positive. And Donald Trump may be seen as a change agent who will rattle the cages in Washington, and perhaps on Wall Street.
But something else is being overlooked here: Hillary Clinton’s economic agenda and the financial markets.
Hillary says she has a cabinet full of ideas. Unfortunately, most of them are dimwitted. Here are five that could hurt employment, growth and stocks.
1) Raise the minimum wage to $12 or even $15 an hour.

I was not happy to vote for Donald Trump, but Hillary Clinton must be stopped. She and her coterie of soft-handed, Chardonnay-sipping fascists are, in equal parts, malignant and stupid, and many of us believe her hate-fueled pogrom against normal Americans will stand a significant chance of leading to real civil conflict. I’ve seen with my own eyes what horror awaits at the bottom of the slippery slope of corruption and oppression, and I’ve warned of it again and again. This dumb woman’s personal psychodramas are poised to fuel a rocket sled ride downward to disaster.
...Hillary Clinton, with her seething contempt not only for the Constitution but for that "irredeemable" and "deplorable" half of all Americans, is a manifest danger to our country. I don’t want the world my book depicts to come true. That’s why we must stop her. And the only way to do that is to vote for Donald Trump. And the man didn't even consider that she'll do abroad
Every agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation takes an oath to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic” and to “bear true faith and allegiance to the same.” And he swears to “faithfully discharge the duties of the office.”
It is much the same oath taken by members of Congress, by military officers and government employees. It is an oath that goes back to Washington and Lincoln. Its origins lie in the Constitution.
And FBI Director James Comey violated it.
The oath is not to any president or government, but to the impartial law of the Constitution. It says that no one is above the law. James Comey twice stated implicitly that one politician is above the law.
Twice now, Comey faced a choice between his own rank and file agents who dutifully followed their oaths and faithfully discharged the duties of their office by investigating criminal conduct at the highest level and his political superiors who sought to protect the criminal conduct from coming to light.
Twice now, Comey submitted to a cover-up. Twice he violated his oath, sold out his own investigators and got nothing for his troubles except a swift kick in the teeth from the national press corps.
Like the Weebles, Comey wobbles. The Bureau’s agents pursue their leads. The DOJ scowls and warns. And Comey tries to serve both masters. He compromises both the investigation and the cover up. He serves up information while selling out its conclusions. His people find evidence of criminality while their boss whitewashes the culprits. Even as new damning emails come out every day, Comey shambles out to wave the whole thing away. He tries to do the right thing and the wrong thing at the same time.
Now Comey did the right thing and the wrong thing again. The order is predictable. The FBI director will only do the right thing until he’s intimidated into doing the wrong thing.
The last time around, one side wanted a cover-up and the other side wanted an investigation. And Comey obligingly gave them both what they wanted. His investigation also doubled as a cover-up. And his cover-up also doubled as an investigation. It all worked very well until Comey had to make a choice.
And Comey chose the cover-up. He laid out evidence of illegal actions and denied they were illegal.
He tried to play the trick a second time, but by now everyone was wise to it. The left demanded an instant cover-up and lambasted the looming lawman for even considering an investigation. It didn’t take long before Comey folded like a cheap Korean car. After being threatened with violations of the Hatch Act and Maureen Dowd no longer telling her media friends that he looks like Henry Fonda, he gave up.
If Comey was expecting gratitude for eventually agreeing to a cover-up, he had misjudged his audience.
"Today's letter makes Director Comey's actions nine days ago even more troubling," Senator Feinstein hissed.
Al Franken shoved his Droopy Dog face into the lens of the nearest CNN camera. "We will have hearings. I'm sure that FBI Director Comey will be before us," he bellicosely lisped.

As I understand it, there is no love lost between the NYPD and the FBI. There may be a hand or two yet to play if the NYPD puts pride in being professional over their Democratic union base.

Spot on! The Bureau and the Klingons have never gotten over the NYPD's reaching out to INTERPOL and foreign intelligence following 9/11. Market share squabble as it were.
[Reuters] U.S. equity index futures rallied at the open on Sunday as bullish sentiment returned to Wall Street following the largest streak of losses on the S&P 500 since 1980.
The 1.3 percent move in S&P 500 e-mini futures ESc1 cut in nearly half the losses in futures over the past nine sessions, and came a few hours after the FBI said that newly discovered emails had not changed the agency's conclusion that no charges were warranted in the case of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's use of a private server.
The move in equity futures came in a surge of volume as electronic trading kicked off for the week at 6 p.m. EST (2300 GMT).
If the upturn in S&P 500 futures carries through the day on Monday, it would put an end to the longest daily losing streak in the benchmark stock index .SPX in more than 35 years.
The run of losses had come as Clinton appeared to have lost momentum over Republican rival Donald Trump in some public opinion polls after FBI director James Comey said on Oct. 28 that additional emails had been found and would be reviewed. Con't.

Hillary linked to Wall Street? Nah, Just a coincidence> There are not many making anything off their investments in the Stock Market (if they are still in it) so "What difference does it make?"
[Breitbart] Sunday on NBC’s "Meet The Press," former NBC’s "Nightly News" anchor Tom Brokaw said, "I have never seen the country so fractured."
Brokaw said, "I’ve been at this a fair amount of time. I have never seen the country so fractured. The Founding Fathers said ’We the people in order to form a more perfect union,’ this campaign has been we the African-Americans, we the Hispanics, we the women, we the angry white males, we the wealthy, we the people who don’t know quite what to do. We’re in tribal warfare here. That’s not who we are. That’s not what we can be. Newt Gingrich is right, we’re in for a very difficult time whoever wins that. There are so many things that have not been addressed in this campaign." Most insightful. Yes 'Tribal Warfare' as planned. I believe the first blows were struck soon after November, 2008 and they continue to this day.

First blows came with the Clarence Thomas hearings when the left went all out to prevent a conservative black justice. It has escalated since then. Not long ago Mitt Romney was satan, now he's a great statesmen and Trump is satan. Familiar pattern yet folks forget.

Far too charitable. Heaping praise such as this upon them will only make them stronger and more determined.

Yea well, once you have "affirmative action" - making a majority of the population second rate citizens, sabotage due process in sexual accusations on campuses, make joke of the rule of law, encourage terrorist attacks against cops what do you expect?. To be candid Thomas, I'm surprised the deplorables having started sniping you "elites" yet. Probably, giving you one last chance - mark my word, don't steal the elections!
[SultanKnish] Before long the same administration that declared the fighting in Iraq over several times will claim victory over ISIS. The timetable for its push against the Islamic State appears to have less do with the victimized Christians and Yazidis who have been prevented from coming here as refugees in favor of Syrian Muslims than with the Clinton presidential campaign. Like Obama’s declarations that the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq were over, the announcement that ISIS has been defeated will be premature.
It is based on a profound misunderstanding and misreading of Islamic terrorism. IMO, it's based on the profound misunderstanding of every single thing in the real world: from basic facts of economics to basic facts of psychology
Long before its current string of defeats, ISIS had begun evolving into another Al Qaeda; a multinational alliance of Jihadists scattered around the world. Bombing Mosul isn’t hard, but try bombing Marseille, Brussels or London. There is no doubt that the ability of ISIS to temporarily establish a caliphate allowed it to build a network that could carry out terror attacks from New York to Miami to Nice to Munich. But it would be dangerous to assume that losing Iraq and Syria will stop ISIS.
ISIS doesn’t matter. The idea of ISIS does. And the idea of ISIS is Islamic supremacism.
...The bigger error though is to think that we are fighting an organization. We are fighting an idea. That is not to contend, as Obama does, that we can debate it to death. It is not the sort of idea that argues with words, but with bullets, bombs and swords. But neither does it just go away if you seize a city.
...Islam originally spread into a vacuum created by civilizational decline. Civilizational decline is why it is rising once again. An obscure local terror group eventually turned into ISIS by filling a power vacuum. Even as Obama performs another touchdown dance, some other group will be making that same journey. Its mission will be the familiar one of replacing our civilization with its own.
Until we come to terms with this civilizational struggle, we will go on fighting endless wars in the sand and coping with endless terror attacks in our own cities because we have failed to recognize the nature of the enemy. We are not fighting an acronym, whether it’s ISIS or ISIL; we are fighting an Islamic State.
This is a war to determine whether the future will belong to the West or to Islam.

We can keep our soldiers there and babysit those people for the next thousand years hoping we can somehow drag them into the modern world or we can leave them to stew in their own juices and try to figure it out for themselves. I favor the latter. We don't go there and they don't come here.

Depends if they are truly crushed and the west is seen as the strong horse again. If not, replacement groups will probably just take on one of ISIS's pseudo names.

Totally and completely irrelevant. The Zero and Shrillary world is not predicated on understanding anything other than their own quest for wealth and power.
