Jonathan Turley: The Case Against James Comey
Below is my column in The Hill Newspaper on the the case against former FBI Director James Comey for leaking FBI information to the media. There has been an effort to confine the question of Comey’s actions in terms of criminality. There are laws that could be relied upon for a formal charge in court but that is unlikely and would counter prior prosecutorial practices. However, the disclosure clearly violates a host of federal rules and regulations that bar such use of FBI information. It is therefore unlawful and unprofessional. It is also potentially unethical under bar rules.

Oliver Stone on Vladimir Putin: ‘The Russian people have never been better off'
[Guardian] The veteran director has been accused of pandering to Putin for his four-hour documentary on the Russian leader, but he remains unrepentant. Could it be the climax to his career?

Have you ever been beaten?" Vladimir Putin poses the question to Oliver Stone close to the end of Stone’s extraordinary four-hour documentary on the Russian leader. "Yes," says Stone. "So, it’s not going to be something new, because you are going to suffer for what you are doing," says the Russian leader, before striding out of a room that conjures the spirit of the Sistine chapel crossed with the most fevered fantasies of Donald Trump’s interior designer.

In this instance, Putin was right. Stone’s epic four-part film The Putin Interviews was described by the Daily Beast as a "wildly irresponsible love letter" to Russia’s president. It "says as much about Oliver Stone as it does Vladimir Putin", said CNN. "Flattery, but little scepticism," said the New York Times.

Are Mueller and Comey ‘colluding' against Trump by acting as co-special counsel?
[FOX] Legal Notice: "Proudly Announcing The Newly-Formed Law Firm of Mueller & Comey. We Specialize In Bungling Cases, Ignoring Legal Standards, And Bringing Down Presidents."

I have not yet received the announcement in the mail. But I expect it will arrive any day now.

After all, Robert Mueller and James Comey appear to be acting in concert as co-special counsel. Why not make it official with a formal notice of their union?

It was obvious it would evolve this way from the very moment Mueller was named on May 17th.

Which is why I wrote a column two days later, arguing that Mueller should resign as special counsel. He has a flagrant conflict of interest that disqualifies him from serving. To wit, his personal and professional closeness to Comey. They have long been allies. Comey regards his predecessor at the FBI as a mentor, while Mueller considers Comey his protégé.

It was evident at the outset that the fired FBI Director would be the pivotal witness in any potential obstruction of justice investigation by Mueller. Therefore, it was incomprehensible that Rod Rosenstein, the Acting Attorney General, would choose him. It was equally baffling that Mueller would accept the position.

#2  Recall our former esteemed leader saying: ‘Not even a smidgen of corruption’: Obama downplays IRS, other scandals in the middle of the investigation thus tainting the investigation.

We know how that went down. If there is a smidgen, iota, suggestion, or even a hint of collusion between Comey and Mueller, the plug ought to be pulled on this Special Counsel kangaroo court. Drain-the-swamp!

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Why is Hamas refusing to lay down arms?
[Al Jazeera] ... Hamas' stockpiling of military power does not mean that it is necessarily heading for a fourth military confrontation with Israel. Rather it is working to reach a state of constant readiness in fear that Israel will strike it first in a surprise attack, and that is something the movement should be very wary of.

Perhaps Hamas has learned well, or should learn, that it is difficult for Israel to accept an armed entity on its borders, an entity that proclaims day and night that it intends to destroy it. This opens up the field to many speculations, from the outbreak of a fierce new war the likes of which has never been seen before, to a possible tightening of the siege on Gaza, spelling a slow painful death for its residents that Hamas would not be able to withstand for long, or the third option of a prolonged pause in hostilities, an option that lacks many of the circumstances it would need in order to succeed.

#1  Because then Iran won't give them money.
Posted by: g(r)omgoru || 06/13/2017 5:04 Comments || Top||

#2  Hamas sees that the balance of power between it and Israel is tilted in favour of the latter and it may not be logical to compete with them in a purely operational sense. However, for Hamas, accepting this hypothesis as fact would encourage Israel to invade Gaza periodically and grab its lands with impunity at any time, as it does in the West Bank.

This shows Al Jazeera's stupidity and bigotry. It was Arik Sharon himself (a right wing PM) who initiated the evacuation of all Jewish settlements from the Gazoo Strip and returned all the land to the PA clearly demonstrating that Israel has no interest to "Grab it's lands" as assumed by the compulsive liars of Al Jazeera.
However, in return for the favour, the Gazzoans "democratically" elected a murderous organization vociferously dedicated to the destruction of Israel. Hamas has been continously terrorizing Israelis by shelling civilans on the border, kidnapping civilians and soldiers and in general being a royal pain in the arse.
So of course we will invade the Gazoo strip sooner or later, not to "grab their F***ing land" but to eliminate the Hamas terror supporting regime and hand the Gazoo again into the hands of a legitimate, peace supporting PA (if such a thing exists at all and not in our overactive collective imagination".
We are definitely not interested in grabbing their land. What we want is to stop terrorism and liberate the poor Gazooans from being held hostage by this murderous semi-criminal organization.

P.S. - if you really want to know why the Hamas keeps craving military power, just check the swiss bank accounts of the Hamas top brass and you will understand immediately, the reason.

Feminist Writer is Triggered by World War II Nose Art Image [VIDEO]
[Victory Girls] "How many feminists does it take to change a light bulb?"

"Shut up! That’s not funny!"

Wanna hear another feminist joke? Didja hear about the feminist who got triggered because a watch company paid homage to World War II nose art? Breitling Watch placed a sculpture of a bomb-riding blonde in its storefront, and feminist blogger Maria Popova went into a twitter fit in an attempt to shame Breitling.
