DOJ Investigating Comey - The Case against Comey - Lou Dobbs (Video)
DOJ Inspector General can only investigate possible wrong doing of criminal action, not prosecute. They then refer their findings to the FBI for criminal prosecution if warranted. This is a step in the right direction.

The link to this post is an unapologetic WS site. The content and comments are overtly racist and anti-semetic. The article itself is repugnant and IMO beneath Rantburg standards. But then again maybe things have completly changed around this joint.

#10  So Rantburg is now linking to White Supremacist sites now huh? Is it really relevant that an overweight woman that got mowed over by fucking Nazi may have died of a heart attack instead of blunt force trauma? Yeah...and those fat jokes are real classy too.

I made the decision to link to a "White Supremacist site", because the writer had provided a fact that apparently some people regard as cause to force someone off the internet, and had provided a fact/opinion I was not aware of.

Hunter Wallace has the same right to speak his mind as the people who were denied a forum on the Internet by stating the very same opinion.

I placed it in opinion because I routinely feature editorials that do not fit my views.

You apparently are in the same mindset as Google and GoDaddy, i.e. that the Bill of Rights only apply to you as an individual, and to no one you disapprove of.

As for the fat jokes, you can put this squarely on the media, which featured a foto of the victim which bore very little resemblance to the victim the day she died. The fact the foto bore little resemblance to the woman meant, to me at least, that the media was attempting to blow something by the rest of us. It was a successful attempt at managing opinion before all the facts were out.

What they did by posting the foto and leaving out how Heyer died was much like your overbearing, and patently false (even outrageous) statement that we link to white supremacist sites.

#11  MSM misled us all very badly with their Charlottesville coverage. Instead of focusing on the lack of law enforcement they went after Trump for criticizing both sides in the violence. Then it turns out even Nancy Pelosi is scared of Antifa...but no apologies to Trump. For over a week they raked Trump over the coals as if the violence had been entirely his fault when they should have been asking Gov MacAuliffe why he didn't enforce the law. Now we must consider how Ms. Heyer really died, if it was the driver's fault or not, what's happening with his trial and why the authorities won't release the autopsy report. MSM won't tell us.

So yeah, Depot Guy, Rantburg has a link to a site you choose to characterize as white supremacist. Go ahead and read CNN if think they're any better. But it's no good to cast aspersions on the source unless you can disprove the facts. We want the facts. Got any?

#13  fucking Nazi

James Fields has been treated for schizophrenia since he was a child, DepotGuy, which is a decade or two earlier than it usual manifests. He needs to be locked up because he is a documented danger to his mother, who takes care of him; the problem is that nowadays we don't lock up crazy people until they've killed someone, after which they spend the rest of their lives in prison. But the particular form of vicious stupidity Mr. Fields latched onto is immaterial -- he could have as easily been a fucking Antifa Black Bloc, or a soldier of the archangel Michael, getting instructions through messages on his laptop that only he could see.

American "Nazis" are pathetic poseurs, except for the ones who are undercover FBI agents or the legitimately insane.

Is it really relevant that an overweight woman that got mowed over by fucking Nazi may have died of a heart attack instead of blunt force trauma?

I am overweight by about twenty pounds. Ms Heyer is grossly obese, carrying about ten times that much excess weight; this may or may not have been the result of poor behavioural choices, though smoking cigarettes, and its effect on an already strained cardiovascular system, definitely is. And yes, it does matter if she spontaneously died of a heart attack due to overexertion rather than having been killed by a panicking crazy man. If she was already dead, he did not kill her, nor could she have dodged out of his path as others did -- and then we can look into the responsibility for subsequent events of the violent Antifa idiots who were pounding on his car with clubs... and the mainstream news media who trumpeted a false story to smear the non-left for political advantage.

I'm sure DepotGuy can helpfully provide other sources that mentioned the heart attack. Perhaps, CNN? ABC, NBC? MSNBC?

Maybe television is boring. Perhaps The New York Times has something? The Washington Post? The Los Angeles Times? The Arizona Republic? Any other 'reasonable' newspaper in his vicinity?

#15  … much like your overbearing, and patently false (even outrageous) statement that we link to white supremacist sites.

Hmmm…I wonder what led me to call the link a White Supremacist site? I dunno, maybe it was the article titled ‘White-Collar Supremacy’ in which a “The White ethnostate” is imagined. And oddly enough it’s listed under the tagline of “White Supremacy”. Or maybe it was the websites comment section that led me to that conclusion? As example, one poster with an avatar that has a Nazi symbol imposed on a US flag commented; “The Senate is nothing but israeli-occupied territory.” “And good riddance to Heather “light as a feather” Heyer”. But perhaps that’s me just being overbearing and making patently false statements again.

#17  Obviously, there's no convincing you.

But at least consider that the great bulk of War on Terror news we post comes from foreign sources, which feature facts and data our vaunted domeatic media won't or can't publish publish.

Some of them are as racist and anti semitic as can be, such as al-Manar and the Iranian news agency Press TV. Some of the sources we use are as bland and unimaginative producers of news as can be, the way it should be.

Some of them, such as the Daily Mail provide us with domestic news we can't find anywhere else.

The decision to link to a white supremacist site was a calculated risk, the calculation only being to bring to light two facts we did not have before.

The site was the source.

The site's owner has some very unsavory political ideas, but his presentation was as unbiased as can be presented.

I hasten to add that I was like you several years ago. If facts or ideas come from unsavory sources, they they must not be considered. But I have aged some since, and my thinking has been tempered somewhat from experience in helping out around here.

I understand you disagree with my decision, but I would prefer to leave it there.

Africa Subsaharan
The Rwandan Genocide - It's all our fault, of course you knew that.
[Guardian] Between April and July 1994, hundreds of thousands of Rwandans were murdered in the most rapid genocide ever recorded. The killers used simple tools ‐ machetes, clubs and other blunt objects, or herded people into buildings and set them aflame with kerosene. Most of the victims were of minority Tutsi ethnicity; most of the killers belonged to the majority Hutus.

The Rwanda genocide has been compared to the Nazi Holocaust in its surreal brutality. But there is a fundamental difference between these two atrocities. No Jewish army posed a threat to Germany. Hitler targeted the Jews and other weak groups solely because of his own demented beliefs and the prevailing prejudices of the time. The Rwandan Hutu génocidaires, as the people who killed during the genocide were known, were also motivated by irrational beliefs and prejudices, but the powder keg contained another important ingredient: terror. Three and a half years before the genocide, a rebel army of mainly Rwandan Tutsi exiles known as the Rwandan Patriotic Front, or RPF, had invaded Rwanda and set up camps in the northern mountains. They had been armed and trained by neighbouring Uganda, which continued to supply them throughout the ensuing civil war, in violation of the UN charter, Organisation of African Unity rules, various Rwandan ceasefire and peace agreements, and the repeated promises of the Ugandan president, Yoweri Museveni.

During this period, officials at the US embassy in Kampala knew that weapons were crossing the border, and the CIA knew that the rebels’ growing military strength was escalating ethnic tensions within Rwanda to such a degree that hundreds of thousands of Rwandans might die in widespread ethnic violence. However, Washington not only ignored Uganda’s assistance to the Rwandan rebels, it also ramped up military and development aid to Museveni and then hailed him as a peacemaker once the genocide was underway.

#1  I look forward to the Guardian's coverage of the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution. Lots of references to Stalin having the right idea, the need to break a few tens of millions of eggs to make an omelet, etc. It will be a challenge to blame the Ukrainian Famine on the US, or the Katyn Forest Massacre, but those lads are up to it.

Belgian Monks To Vatican: Euthanasia For Non-Terminal Patients Still A Go For Us
[Hot Air] After remarking on the need for a consistent pro-life approach on immigration in the US, Pope Francis might have to clean house on that topic with religious brothers closer to home. The Belgian Brothers of Charity issued a defiant statement today after a Vatican order to stop offering euthanasia, especially in non-terminal cases, for their psychiatric patients. Rather than comply, the monks insist that they have plenty of room within Catholic teaching to assist in suicides when patients request it:

Spengler: Germany's refugee crisis through the looking-glass
Hello Refugees!, by Tuvia Tenenbom. Jewish Theater of New York; New York 2017. Paperback; 194 Pages. $12.99

[PJMedia] Tuvia Tenenbom is the Jewish world’s answer to the late gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson. Diet coke is Tenenbom’s drug of choice, to be sure, but the method is the same: Get in the middle of a dodgy and maybe dangerous situation and stir up a story that you then can write about. The faux-naiveté with which he accosts the unwitting actors in his improvised theater-of-the-absurd masks a deep cunning; an Israeli-born graduate of ultra-Orthodox religious education with advanced degrees in mathematics and computer science, Tenenbom can start trouble in five languages. Two of his books, Allein unter den Deutschen (alone among the Germans) and Allein unter den Juden (alone among the Jews) were bestsellers in Germany and Israel, respectively. The former first appeared in English under the awkward title I Sleep in Hitler’s Room in 2011, and my review was, to my knowledge, the first that the then-unknown author received.

In the intervening six years Tenenbom has matured as a writer. If Kafka had written non-fiction, he could not have bested Tenenbom’s latest book. It is funny, sad, and frustrating to anyone who wants to make politics out of the European refugee crisis, at any part of the spectrum. This is his best work by far and one of the finest pieces of reporting I have seen in quite some time. Starting in 2016 Germany absorbed over a million migrants, many of them victims of the Syrian civil war but also economic migrants from all over the Islamic world. Germany’s long-serving Chancellor Angela Merkel declared, "Wir schaffen es!" ("We can do it!") and Germany mobilized to demonstrate its good-heartedness and generosity‐not so much to the world, but to itself.

Praised as an expression of German leadership and denounced as capitulation to Muslim invaders, the great migration is neither. In Tenenbom’s account, bored refugees eat bad food and contract skin rashes in the overcrowded, unsanitary facilities where the German government has dumped them. They are happy to complain to an Arabic-speaking journalist and spill their hopes and dreams‐to marry a German blonde, to get rich, to get back to Syria or Afghanistan or Pakistan where they can find edible food. Most are just bored; a few are suicidal, but there is a one-year waiting list to see a German psychiatrist.

Teflon Don Confounds Democrats
[Politico] Democrats have attacked the president every which way, but polling and focus groups show none of it's working.
There's a reason for that...
Democrats tried attacking Donald Trump as unfit for the presidency. They’ve made the case that he’s ineffective, pointing to his failure to sign a single major piece of legislation into law after eight months in the job. They’ve argued that Trump is using the presidency to enrich himself and that his campaign was in cahoots with Russia.

None of it is working.

Data from a range of focus groups and internal polls in swing states paint a difficult picture for the Democratic Party heading into the 2018 midterms and 2020 presidential election. It suggests that Democrats are naive if they believe Trump’s historically low approval numbers mean a landslide is coming. The party is defending 10 Senate seats in states that Trump won and needs to flip 24 House seats to take control of that chamber.
The only other 'Teflon' politician I can recall is Reagan. What this article demonstrates is the inherent bias of the national media, trying their level best to destroy a Republican president, and not getting the backing of large swaths of the voting public who know better than to fall for it. That, above anything else, is Trump's major contribution to U.S. politics.

#3  A great deal of this is Trump's refusal to let the nattering class affect his actions. It's not so much that I like Trump; I don't, I've always thought he was an a$$hole. There's lots of them out there, I've been there myself when I thought the occasion warranted it.
His opponents, on the other hand, are generally speaking, useless liars, social perverts, and wanna be tyrants. Exactly the kind of people that I like to see crying in agonized frustration.
It's all been very entertaining, if it wasn't so pathetic.

Kellyanne Wonders Why Hillary Talked About Herself on 9/11
[AJR] Hillary Clinton has been talking a lot about herself and her failed campaign lately. With her new book, "What Happened," coming out Tuesday, she has been rounding the media circuit explaining to every reporter who will listen why it's not her fault she lost to Donald Trump last November.

She told CBS News's Jane Pauley that it was FBI Director James Comey and the media who are to blame for obsessively covering her email scandal.

Then, in a conversation with USA Today, Clinton told the editors she is "convinced" Trump associates communicated with the Russians to upend her campaign.

Clinton playing the blame game is nothing new. But, White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway wondered aloud Monday why the defeated Democrat kept talking about herself on a day meant to honor the victims of the September 11 terror attacks.

CIA Knew About 9-11 Hijackers, Didn't Provide Intel to FBI
[PJ] As I've recounted in more than 30 articles here at PJ Media over the past three years, virtually every Islamic terrorist who has conducted an attack in the West since 9/11 has already been known to authorities, which prompted me to coin the phrase "known wolf" terrorism.

Amidst the commemoration of the 16th anniversary of 9/11, it bears recalling that 9/11 itself was a "known wolf" attack, too.

The CIA had intelligence that two Saudi 9/11 hijackers were living in the United States, but they deliberately refused to share the information with the FBI. The FBI had authority to act on such information and possibly prevent the 9/11 attacks:

Terror Networks
ISIS strategy of ‘death by a thousand cuts’
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] ISIS seems to have revamped its strategy of terror, as evidenced by its latest attacks in Spain, Finland, Russia and Belgium. Unable to hold on to its territories in Iraq and Syria in the wake of relentless strikes by the international coalition, ISIS has now adopted the strategy of delivering "death by a thousand cuts," to show that it has not capitulated.

This strategy aims to increase the number of terrorist attacks outside the Middle East, ranging from small-scale and rudimentary assaults (for example knife attacks or ram raiding) to more sophisticated operations (such as boom-mobileings and suicide kabooms).

The important thing here is the emphasis on striking at random and indiscriminately, anywhere and at anytime in order to create a sense of heightened anxiety and desperation among security forces and the general public.
