Obama looks to skip Senate on new UN climate change deal
[Iran Press TV] President B.O. is working to create a new international climate change accord that would get other nations to reduce their carbon emissions, but in a way that would not require the deal to be ratified by the Senate.
I'm waiting for some press secretary to explain how the U.S. can be bound by an 'agreement' that hasn't been ratified by the Senate. Not that I expect Skippy to offer anything remotely decent, but it will be entertaining to watch the White House press corps swallow the lie whole...
Obama's climate team is putting together a "politically binding" deal to "name and shame" nations to cut their emissions, according to The New York Times
...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

#1  Such a deal is still likely to be very controversial in the United States, and talk of the unusual agreement comes months before a midterm election, where the Senate majority is in play.

Proving once again that Champ's understanding of domestic political impacts is on a par with his understanding of foreign relations and international diplomacy. Welcome to the theater of the absurd.

#2  It's as if his principal motivation was "lets see how far I can go?".

#3  So what. Without Senate ratification, it won't be legally binding. Just like the Kyoto Protocol. Empty gestures and irrelevant symbolism are all the left is any good at anyway.

Aside from undoing all the hard, real, actual work done by their tribal enemies, that is.

#4  trying to get $ from the Dem Extremist "Environmentalists". That Keystone pipeline is gonna really piss them off in December

#5  It is easy to assume Obama is stupid. This is nothing but a "gesture", nothing more. But we do have a President of the United States who really has no respect for the design of the American System, its Institutions, and ultimately for the character of its common people.

Obama isn't stupid, but he isn't your friend either. You people made a BIG mistake with electing the Messiah. You have gotten what you deserve. Eat your peas.

#8  This is like Clintons arsenic levels executive order. Unnecessary but it allowed the left to claim Bush was pro-arsenic when he removed the potentially economically damaging law.

#9  piece of shit

#10  All Obozo is doing these days is fundraising. So this is just a fundraising tactic, to fleece the leftie rubes. Like a televangelist telling viewers they'll be saved if they donate all their money. A garden variety con artist, who will presumably abscond with a goodly chunk of the sums collected. The sooner the better.

#11  He can do that if he desires, but where will he get the $$ to implement? Assuming the House finds 2 balls to rub together, they could create budgetary legislation that stipulated where funds went and this POS shrivels and dies on the vine.
Of course finding said balls is the first step.

#12  "Politically binding" is an interesting phrase.
Posted by: Grunter || 08/28/2014 22:22 Comments || Top||

#13  On O's part it is delusional thinking. He is playing to one or more of the 8-ball organizations in his base. He has become totally irrelevant in foreign policy, and he is headed for the same thing domestically. He has pi$$ed off a lot of supporters and his base is shrinking too, exept the Kool Aid drinkers.

Everything he touches turns to sh*t, like a scatological King Midas.
