Christie endorses Trump for Pub nomination
[Guardian] Chris Christie on Friday became the first governor to endorse Donald Trump, giving the Republican frontrunner a shot in the arm after a disappointing debate performance on Thursday night.

The New Jersey governor told reporters in Fort Worth, Texas: "I will lend my support in every way between now and November for Donald to help in everything he needs."

Christie dropped out of the Republican primary earlier in February after a disappointing sixth-place finish in New Hampshire. He was long an establishment favorite and was considered an early frontrunner for the nomination, but his campaign never recovered from the damage caused by the "Bridgegate" scandal over the closure of lanes to the George Washington Bridge between New York and New Jersey, allegedly for political reasons.

Christie praised Trump for "leaving the private sector and seeing the need for strong leadership in this country".

#1  Now if we could get Bridget Anne Kelly, Christie's fired deputy chief of staff (Roads & Bridges Queen) to be hired as the DNC chief of logistics.

#3

Jokes aside, unless Trump wins the presidency Cris Cristy's political carreer (as a republican) is over.

Bernie Sanders may be right that the American people are sick and tired of hearing about Hillary Clinton's scandals. I think the same is true about Chris Christy. But that does not mean by any measure that we have forgotten or forgiven either one of them.

If Trump looses the nomination/election I will be waiting for both Trump and Christy to announce that have left the Republican Party and officially joined the Democrats. (Where in my opinion they have both always belonged anyway.)

#4  I don't think Trump will lose either the Nomination or General. The US just isn't intellectually interested in politics the way it used to be.

#5  Loud-mouthed liberal Yankees...that is just what we need...the whole lot of 'em. Trump, Christie, Hillary and Bernie.

If those are my choices...I will stay at home in November. The Trump followers have no idea the level of hatred toward him that he has cultivated in the true conservative movement. He will rightly own that hatred in November. Vanity and arrogance are fatal sins.

We NEED a war president and this set of quislings and circus clowns are what the masses want... Blood will be on their hands.

#6  Trump will win the nomination.
* The Trump University scandal will hit in early summer. He'll settle out of court to make that go away but we'll hear about it all summer.
* He'll crush Hillary because she's the only politician more unlikeable than Trump and folks know the economy needs to be fixed and Foreign policy is in tatters despite what Democrats are saying.
* Republicans and Democrats in the Congress will take their job seriously when it comes to the Constitution and balancing the power of the executive branch.
* Trump will back off in the middle east and let Russia do what they want. I don't really know how that plays out.
* Trump will start a trade war with China over currency manipulation. Chinese economy plumes and takes the world economy with it. I don't know how that plays out but it doesn't sound good.
* Republicans seriously challenge Trump in the primaries but I think the Democrats win in 2020.

Rubio suggests Trump suffered from urinary incontinence during debate
[Daily Caller] Sen. Marco Rubio told an audience at a rally in Dallas Friday that Donald Trump had a "meltdown" twice backstage during Thursday night’s debate and might have "wet his pants."

Rubio was reading out tweets to the crowd from Trump, one of them said, "Lightweight Marco Rubio was working hard last night. The problem is, he is a choker, and once a choker, always a chocker! Mr. Meltdown."

"Let me tell you something. Last night in the debate during one of the breaks, two of the breaks, he went backstage, he was having a meltdown," said Rubio.

He continued, "First, he had this little makeup thing applying like makeup around his mustache, cause he one of those sweat mustaches. Then, then he asked for a full length mirror...maybe to make sure his pants weren’t wet."

#3  Before this all started, we already knew both Shillery and Trump could well be SOBs. We've seen their personalities for years. Can't really dent them for their performance on the national stage. Now when these other pretenders shift from the homogenized operative cookie cutter Mr.Nice Guy to SOB its not going to play the same, nor are the consequences.

Starting anew? The Champ would revel in the extension. I've worked for several I didn't care to go have a beer with. "Like" is irelephant.

#8  It takes a "junk yard dog" to beat a junk yard dog--not another Boy Scout. The Pub candidate has to remember that Shrillary will stoop to anything to win and satisfy her power lust. You'd better show up to a gun fight with a gun; not a knife or the Marquess of Queensbury Rules.

#10  This is what our election process has devolved to. Not because of the candidates, but because of the voters wanting a reality show.

I weep for our country.

#11  It's not about liking.

I've cared enough to read Trump's positions and they are just empty lame "I am the greatest and I make America great again". Nothing of substance.

His tax cuts (as much as I like tax cuts) are absurd. Just not possible.

Rubio and Cruz are a bit more polished, but just about as empty.

With the most stupid primaries in history, the Republicans have made it possible that the most hated candidate (Hillary) will probably elected president.

And with their idiotic, non-strategic behavior about not even talking to a Supreme Court candidate, they will even lose the Senate.

It's absolutely crazy that the most decent candidate is an (ex?) Commie.

America has 320 million people. This is the best you can come up with?

Sorry for venting.

#12  #10 This is what our election process has devolved to. Not because of the candidates, but because of the voters wanting a reality show.

Charles, there is a interesting article by Peggy Noonan that speaks to this issue. She claims the voters are tired of being raped by the elites of both parties in Washington. The Trump voters are trying to find a champion who will give them a voice. I'm also of the opinion that many of the Trump voters spoke at the polls in 2012 and again in 2014 and D.C. did not listen. They want to really send the message this time with a little punishment to go with it. Noonan, rise of the unprotected>

#13  I'm not a Peggy fan - she supported Obama, remember, but I think she's right on this. It's like a nationwide "tea-party" but right and left (and middle) disappointed in our "elites"

#14  If Trump controls the border, both people and trade, then I'm willing to forgive just about anything. Including him standing on 5th Avenue and shooting the first passerby.
