-Lurid Crime Tales-
Congressman Lamborn(R) on the house floor called for impeachment of IRS Commissioner John Andrew Koskinen
Last night, on the House Floor, I called for the impeachment of IRS Commissioner John Andrew Koskinen.

This effort was initiated to hold the IRS Commissioner accountable for allowing documents to be destroyed and for providing misleading statement to Congress in the wake of IRS targeting of conservative organizations. I am a proud cosponsor of the resolution and I urging my colleagues to join me in supporting this important legislation.

As it has become abundantly clear, Commissioner Koskinen has failed the American people by stonewalling congressional investigations into the IRS targeting scandal. Conservative organizations were intentionally targeted by our federal government simply because they believed and expressed a message that was in opposition to this Administration. While I disagree with many on the Left, I would never seek to threaten, by means of governmental coercion, to take away their freedom of speech.

Moreover, what is truly disturbing about the IRS scandal is that Chairman Koskinen has violated the public trust. As Commissioner, Mr. Koskinen failed to comply with a congressional subpoena, failed to ensure evidence was preserved, failed to testify truthfully, and failed to notify Congress when he learned thousands of emails were missing.

Our constituents expect Congress to exercise oversight of this Administration and to demand accountability. We know the IRS Commissioner cannot be trusted. Impeachment would help rectify the situation, and would go a long way towards showing the American people that we are serious about our constitutional duties.

Impeachment is the appropriate means to restore balance between our branches of government. The Framers included the impeachment mechanism in the Constitution for precisely this scenario, where an Executive Branch official who violated the public trust will not resign or otherwise be removed from office.

I have always liked Lamborn as he has always been solid and stood with his district even when the Republicans went the other way over the cliff. I doubt this will go anywhere, but the man isn't afraid to speak his mind. Just hope his tax returns are spotless.

Trump Campaign Manager Corey Lewandowski Will Not Be Prosecuted For Alleged Incident With Reporter
Fields gets her scalp: Publicity ahead of a book release in June. I denounce myself.
[ABCNEWS.GO] Donald Trump's campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, will not be prosecuted for simple battery following his altercation in March with former Breitbart news hound Michelle Fields, a source familiar with the investigation confirms to ABC News.

The state's attorney in Florida has decided not to move forward with criminal charges, says the source, adding the decision is expected to be formally announced Thursday.

Lewandowski was charged with the misdemeanor March 29 stemming from a March 8 incident at the Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter, Florida, police said.

"Lewandowski then grabbed Fields’ left arm with his right hand, causing her to turn and step back," according to the police report, describing video of the incident. "Based on the above-described investigation, probable cause exists to charge Corey Lewandowski."

At the time, the Trump campaign released a statement asserting Lewandowski’s innocence.

"Mr. Lewandowski is absolutely innocent of this charge," read the statement. "He will enter a plea of not guilty and looks forward to his day in court. He is completely confident that he will be exonerated."

When Lewandowski was charged on March 29, he was released with a notice to appear in court on May 4.

The Trump campaign and Lewandowski's legal team did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

#3  You cost me a Nation

You lost that Nation long before the Donald. Your last real opportunity was when the Wall came down and you didn't make the apologist and domestic agents pay dearly for backing the other side. The Right was just as guilty as the Left in playing the 'virtue signalling' game in that one. You allowed the 'kinder gentler' RINOs to take over a 'big tent' party, thus making it the party of the old Liberals who had lost their party to the socialists. Too much money and power became at stake, too little action in truly reducing government, and now its all past beyond the point of amicable resolution other than submission.

#6  Except for comment 5 (you got it right, sir), what is wrong with your dummies? Haven't you seen the video that clearly shows Fields skirting the Secret Service detail and grabbing Trump? She should have been arrested and charged with assault.

Are you blind? Lewandowski should have broken her damned arm. Not liking Trump is an insufficient reason for ignoring facts, and for your losing all sense of proportion. Even the freaking prosecutor saw that.

And I don't even LIKE Trump. Gahhh!
Posted by: Whiskey Mike || 04/15/2016 14:51 Comments || Top||

#7  And comment 3; sorry P2K.
Posted by: Whiskey Mike || 04/15/2016 14:52 Comments || Top||

#8  Are you blind? This would have gone away with an apology the day after it happened. Instead we had this circus from Lewandowski and Trump accusing her of all sorts of things. Hell on Hannity last night Corey contradicted himself in a single minute, claiming he didn't even really remember the incident before describing it in detail including the words said.

It's not even the grab, it's the piss-poor arrogant cover-up that nobody believed but stooges.

Should Michelle have been charged? Perhaps, but you'd have to charge Corey with Battery as well. Any sane person would have stepped in front of her, or put a hand on her shoulder to indicate enough after a mumbled, "no comment ma'am".

It's what happened after and the smearing that gets me. Trump has thinner skin than Obama does! And it's looking like a defamation suit, with all the contradicting and false statements from Team Trump, might have legs to stand on when it comes to Lewandowski.

And all the Death threats, Fields fleeing her home, hell just look at her twitter feed! This entire response has disgusted me. There's a damn good reason trump is 78% unfavorable with women.

Federal judge calls IRS untrustworthy in tea party case
[WASHINGTONTIMES] A federal appeals court judge dubbed the IRS
...the Internal Revenue Service; that office of the United States government that collects taxes and persecutes the regime's political enemies...
not trustworthy during oral argument Thursday as he and his colleagues tried to figure out whether tea party targeting is still going on.

Dozens of groups say the IRS not only treated them badly in the past, but the agency continues to subject them to special monitoring and intrusive scrutiny, damaging their reputation among potential donors and making it more likely the groups will face an audit because of their political beliefs.

The IRS insisted it has retrained its employees and instructed managers to behave better, but the panel of judges on the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia did not seem convinced.

Report reveals secret meeting by environmentalists to target Exxon, oil industry
[FOXNEWS] Environmentalists backing a Big Tobacco-style government probe of oil companies plotted their strategy for targeting companies like ExxonMobil at a closed-door meeting in Manhattan earlier this year, according to a Wall Street Journal report.

The report sheds new light on an evolving campaign against the fossil fuel industry that has drawn in several attorneys general who are now investigating ExxonMobil.

According to the Journal, the January meeting in Manhattan was a key moment and brought together several veteran environmental activists to discuss how to "establish in [the] public’s mind that Exxon is a corrupt institution that has pushed humanity (and all creation) toward climate chaos and grave harm."

Critics described the meeting as proof of "collusion" in the campaign against ExxonMobil.

That push has developed as several AGs -- most recently in Massachusetts and the U.S. Virgin Islands -- have launched their own investigations into claims that oil companies misled the public about the risks of global warming.

The company went to court Wednesday to try to block a subpoena by the Virgin Islands attorney general.

"The chilling effect of this inquiry, which discriminates based on viewpoint to target one side of an ongoing policy debate, strikes at protected speech at the core of the First Amendment," the company’s court filing said, according to the Journal.

Chopped-up tycoon linked to bribery scandal in China
A Chinese tycoon found butchered last year in his West Vancouver mansion has been linked to a government corruption scandal in southwestern China.

The scandal, which led to a 19-year jail term for Yunnan province official Lin Yunye, is also tied to a Chinese couple who at one time owned an abandoned multimillion-dollar Vancouver home.

Yunye was jailed last November for selling $234 million in state mining assets to a number of businessmen from whom he accepted tens of millions in bribes — including gold bars, luxury watches and rhinoceros horns.

Pro-Trump message at California university sparks Latino outrage as #thechalkening continues
[LATINO.FOXNEWS] A pro-Donald Trump message was written in chalk in front of a Latino organization at the University of Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,, San Diego last Friday, drawing the ire of Latinos who say the message is a direct attack against Mexicans on campus. And, in fact, the message appears to be part of a larger social media campaign on campuses across the country.

The UCSD chalk message, written on April 8, referred to the Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump and his controversial positions on immigration. "Trump 2016," the message read. "Build the wall, deport them all!" and "Mexico will pay!"

Images of the message were posted on Facebook on Saturday afternoon by the UCSD College Democrats. The message itself has been removed and the college released a statement on Monday condemning the graffiti written outside of the Raza Resource Centro.

"This graffiti runs counter to our campus values of equity and inclusion," the statement from UCSD administrators read. "We value diversity and respect for all cultures."

The UCSD College Democrats blasted the message as "violently racist" and "xenophobic." The organization said it is one of many pieces of graffiti written on campus Friday night, allegedly by "hooded male adults."

#11  As illegals have come out of the shadows over time, with more and more weakwilled resistance from authorities and portions of the public, they have become more bold, confident and assured of their position despite being here illegally. Confronting them with the genuine standards of the law will be nasty, violent and frightening to our own citizen snowflakes of the left, and sadly, much of our youth. Many Americans have lost sight of what a sovereign nation is, or what it means to protect that. As we sink into third-world miasma, they will grope about for the reason, unseen until too late that it was their own weakness that ruined the last best hope of mankind. Pockets of America will exist, but can they resist the confiscation of assets by Washington to feed and fund the indolent mob? A prescription for chaos is brewing, and somewhere Roman Centurions are laughing as they remember the civil wars and the settlement of the Goths inside the borders....
