Sears and K-Mart Pull (some) Trump Items
[MSN] Reuters reported Saturday that Sears Holdings and subsidiary Kmart will discontinue online sales of 31 items from the Trump Home collection, which includes lines of living room and bedroom furniture, lamps and chandeliers.
A last gasp for life. Or relevance.
"As part of the company's initiative to optimize its online product assortment, we constantly refine that assortment to focus on our most profitable items," Hanover said, adding that neither Sears nor Kmart carry Trump Home products in their retail stores.
I wonder if they have reduced any other product lines? Maybe sold off the 100-year old Craftsman line?
As of Sunday, 14 Trump Home products sold by third-party vendors remain on the Sears website, all but one listed with discounted prices. A $942 Trump Home mirror is being sold for $628.
Supply and demand. The progs just don't understand that. Hillary! items would be flying off the shelves!

Singer Joy Villa Makes Pro Trump Statement at Grammys
Photos of the confection at the link, of course.
[DailyMail] Politics made it to the Grammys!

It didn't take long for the 59th Annual Grammy Awards to get political as singer Joy Villa arrived on the red carpet in a form-fitting 'Make America Great Again' dress.

The red, white and blue gown not only had President Donald Trump's campaign slogan on the front, but it also had his last name scrolled across the train.

Villa's bedazzled open-back dress was first covered by a flowing white gown, but her statement-making dress was later unveiled on the red carpet.

The 25-year-old, who is not nominated, also posted a photo of her heart-shaped purse on Instagram with the caption: 'My whole artistic platform is about LOVE! I couldn't be where I am today without the love and tenderness of those beautiful supporters and friends around me.

'Thank you I hope you enjoy tonight's @grammysawards2017 and remember to forget your problems and focus on your future! You are infinite and beautiful and no one can stop you but you.

'So go out and celebrate yourself as a winner no matter what, together with those you adore!' she wrote.

Turmoil grows over White House correspondents' dinner
[YAHOO] It is supposed to be a light-hearted gathering of journalists, celebrities and the president, where differences are put aside for good-natured jibes.
Probably they'll just invite Obama instead. Pretend it's eight years ago.
But amid a bitter war of words between the Trump administration and the Fourth Estate, plans for the 2017 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner in April have been thrown into turmoil.
Nerd prom no more!
After President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
's repeated barbs against the "dishonest media" and "fake news," some journalists and media outlets are thinking twice about their participation in the April 29 dinner, a tradition that dates back to 1921.

"How can media clink glasses with a White House that makes clear its contempt for press freedom and its admiration for (Russian President Vladimir) Putin methods?" tweeted David Frum, a senior editor at The Atlantic.
I dunno, Dave, how'd you manage all those past dinners?
The association, which organizes the annual event that raises money for journalism scholarships, said the dinner will be held as planned.

The White House has indicated it is on Trump's calendar -- despite some doubts about whether he will attend.

Opinion editor Robert Schlesinger of US News & World Report said that regardless of what Trump does, "the media should boycott the dinner."
Sure. Go ahead. It's not like anyone outside Washington will notice, let alone care.
"News organizations should buy tickets as usual (it's for a good cause) but make other plans that night and if he does attend, let the ratings- and crowd-obsessed narcissist freak address an empty ballroom," Schlesinger wrote.

Rep. Maxine Waters: 'Investigation Necessary to Find Evidence to Impeach Trump'
[Breitbart] Sunday on MSNBC’s "AM Joy," discussing her multiple calls to impeach President Donald Trump, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) said, "I think that it’s there, we just have to dig deeper, do the investigation and find it."

Partial transcript as follows:

REID: And you have gone all the way there, talking, using the I-word with Donald Trump about impeachment.

WATERS: Yes.

REID: Do you stand by that and what would he be impeached for in your view?

WATERS: Yes, I have led in talking about impeachment. And some people say, well, it’s too early for that. It’s never too early if you understand how dangerous this man really is. I do believe that there is a connection between the Ukraine and Donald Trump and of course Russia. I think that he colluded with Putin during the election and that hacking and everything that took place. I think that it’s there, we just have to dig deeper, do the investigation and find it.

#7  Now They’re Trotting Out Plans For a Coup D’Etat

"We knew this would get dusted off eventually. Kathleen Parker at The Washington Post trotted out Section 4 of the 25th Amendment, which deals with presidential incapacity.
With luck, and Cabinet-level courage that is not much in evidence, there’s a chance we won’t have to wait two long years, during which, let’s face it, anything could happen. In anticipation of circumstances warranting a speedier presidential replacement, wiser minds added Section 4 to the 25th Amendment, which removes the president if a majority of the Cabinet and the vice president think it necessary, i.e., if the president is injured or falls too ill to serve. Or, by extension, by being so incompetent — or not-quite-right — that he or she poses a threat to the nation and must be removed immediately and replaced by the vice president.

So how does that really work? Nobody knows for sure, because it’s never really been done (not for more than a few hours–or days–at least). But in theory at least, our government has the ultimate kill-switch for a president off the rails."

Jim Webb: There's a ‘Campaign' on the Hill, in Media, Academia to ‘Personally Discredit' Trump
[Breitbart] Sunday on NBC’s "Meet The Press," former U.S. Senator from Virginia, and 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Jim Webb said there was "a campaign" underway on Capitol Hill, in the media and academia "to personally discredit" President Donald Trump.

Webb said, "You know, there is a campaign going on on the Hill in the media, in the academia to personally discredit not only Donald Trump, but the people who are around him. You know, the end result is to slow down the process. You and I were talking about the confirmation process, slow it down so that by ’18 when the Democrats are vulnerable particularly in the Senate there would not be a record of accomplishment that they can run against and at the same time, the Democratic Party, over the past five or six years has moved very far to the left. When you can’t have a Jefferson-Jackson dinner which was the primary celebratory event of the Democratic Party for years because Jefferson and Jackson were slaveholders they were also great Americans in their day, something different has happened to the Democratic Party."

Stephen Miller's bushels of Pinocchios for false voter-fraud claims
[WashingtonPost, which has its own problems with truth] White House senior policy adviser Stephen Miller appeared on ABC's "The Week" on Sunday, spouting a bunch of false talking points on alleged voter fraud. (He also repeated similar claims on other Sunday talk shows.) To his credit, host George Stephanopoulus repeatedly challenged Miller, noting that he had provided no evidence to support his claims. But Miller charged ahead, using the word "fact" three times in a vain effort to bolster his position.

The White House continues to provide zero evidence to back up its claims of voter fraud. Officials instead retreat to the same bogus talking points that have been repeatedly shown to be false.

#1  The jury is still out on voter fraud in the 2016 Prez election. Let's see what Trump's inquiry turns up. If one looks at voter fraud in the Dem primary election, there is the belief among Bernie's supporters that voter fraud was widespread--most likely a well-founded belief. Bernie was playing against a DNC stacked deck.

#2  There have been several reports of convictions for voter fraud lately. Don't those count for anything?

#5  Check the outdoor surveillance tapes on Commercial Street in Manchester, NH on November 8th. It's the Millyard section along the Merrimack River, and the 4 to 6 story buildings on both sides does wonders to hide multiple buses from the masses. Every bus you'll see will have Mass. plates and about 50 bogus votes in each of them.

That's because no public money is allowed to go towards an investigation. Better hope for the MSM it better stay that way, or for sure they will have another fake-news feather in their cap.

Obama PACs Bus Protesters To GOP Town Halls
[DailyCaller] Political action committees that fundraised for President Barrack Obama during the 2012 presidential election, bused protesters to Republican town hall events nationwide earlier in February, according to a Sunday report from The Washington Post.

Democrats nationwide continue to search for ways to oppose President Donald Trump after the 2016 election, and they are digging deep into funding from years ago. An unnamed pro-Obama super PAC organized protests at several town halls, going so far as busing protesters outside the member’s districts.

Since super PACS were legalized in the 2010 Citizens United Supreme Court decision, this marks the first time that money raised to elect one president was used to undermine another. The town hall protests largely opposed the executive order that limited travel from seven nations identified as potential sources of terrorism.

Former staffers of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and former President Bill Clinton are also pouncing on the opportunity. The Center for American Progress, operated by Clinton advisor Neera Tanden, worked with pro-Obama groups in February to encourage Democrats to oppose Republican lawmakers, including Reps. Jason Chaffetz and Dave Brat, at several town halls.

"What’s organizing people is that they’re fearing for the country they grew up in," Tanden told the Post. "People are definitely seeing the purpose of working through the political process to oppose."

It will take a sustained effort to keep voters motivated until the 2018 mid-term elections, especially considering the fact that neither Obama nor Clinton were able to motivate voters to the polls in November. Several groups that were largely assumed to drive votes for Democrats, like black or young female voters, either didn’t turn out to vote, or voted for Trump in larger numbers than early polling suggested.

Despite the united action by former staffers, the leadership of the Democratic party is split in a continued battle as the progressive wing fights the establishment for control. Nowhere is that fight more visible than in the election for chair of the Democratic National Convention.

Progressives like Sens. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren back Rep. Keith Ellison for the chair, but former vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine openly endorsed former Labor Secretary Tom Perez. The traditional activist wing of the Democratic Party, the highly influential labor unions, remained divided on which candidate will better support their interests.
It's all fun and games until somebody gets hurt. Long martyrs.

#1  A little TSA style security at the front door (driver license with a local address) would cut a lot into that issue.

#3  Yeah and the Republicans don't have SEIU goons to provide security at their town halls. If you're gonna have street thugs and union goons going up against gentlemen, the gentlemen are gonna have to up their game.

Could This Be The 1st Step In The Impeachment Process? Democrat Files 'Resolution of Inquiry' on Trump
[ThRoot] A senior member of the House Judiciary Committee introduced a Resolution of Inquiry on Thursday that directs the Department of Justice to provide the House of Representatives with any and all information relevant to an inquiry into President Trump and his associates’ conflicts of interest, ethical violations (including the Emoluments Clause), and Russia ties.
I've been having a conversation on Facebook with a true believer. She honestly thinks that the Congress will impeach and remove Trump. I keep pointing out that the Pubs distracted themselves for eight years by thinking that any day now they'd impeach Champ. How'd that work out? And impeaching Bush. We did impeach Clinton, and what did we get for that? So go ahead, I told her, work yourself to the bone in an effort to impeach Trump. I certainly can use the entertainment.
The House Judiciary Committee has 14 days to debate and vote on whether the resolution Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) introduced should be introduced to the floor, and if it does not do so within that 14-day period, then the resolution can be brought to the floor in front of the full house for a vote.
Republican committee head: "Utter nonsense -- file in the circular file, and let's get in with the next confirmation."
According to the Washington Post, Nadler is "dusting off a little-used legislative tool to force a committee debate or floor vote on an issue."
"All in favour of filing in the circular file say, "Aye."
"AYE!"
"All opposed say "Nay."
"Nay."
"The ayes have it. The next item on the committee agenda is the next confirmation."
More from the Washington Post:

Nadler’s resolution asks Attorney General Jeff Sessions to provide "copies of any document, record, memo, correspondence, or other communication of the Department of Justice" that pertains to any "criminal or counterintelligence investigation" into Trump, his White House team or certain campaign associates; any investment made by a foreign power or agent thereof in Trump’s businesses; Trump’s plans to distance himself from his business empire; and any Trump-related examination of federal conflict of interest laws or the emoluments clause of the Constitution.

The full text of Nadler’s resolution can be read here.

Nadler is the No. 2-ranking Democrat on the Judiciary Committee, and he said that the move came after Democrats sent two letters to Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.), one on Nov. 30, 2016 and a second on Jan. 24, 2017, and another letter to House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) asking for investigations into Trump’s financial entanglements.

"All of this demands investigation, and of course they’ve refused," Nadler said Thursday at the House Democrats’ annual policy retreat here. "This resolution will force them to confront the issue."

#2  A fishing expedition going nowhere. A lot of publicity for Nadler. Nadler is playing to his base which is very liberal.
Posted by: JohnQC || 02/13/2017 7:02 Comments || Top||

#3  Nadler wasn't so interested in impeaching his guy Obama despite ample grounds.
Posted by: JohnQC || 02/13/2017 8:45 Comments || Top||

#4  It will go no where except during the next election campaign. The dems will say that they tried to impeach him XX number of time only to be blocked by the evil republicans. They are setting themselves up for the next election cycle.
Posted by: 49 Pan || 02/13/2017 9:27 Comments || Top||

#5  It could work if a substantial number of Republican Reps & Sens are willing to throw Trump under the bus in a uni-party deal to maintain the DC status quo. It would mean the Dem wing of the uni-party needs to support Pence as well. I suspect both wings will just prepare the ground for the next election, and we will see if they learned their lessons about dissing large blocks of their constituents.

#6  Pay about as much attention to this nonsense as Holder did to the congressional Fast and Furious investigation.

#7  His team took the election.
Why do they think he's stupid?

#8  Pence should let it slip in casual conversation that if Trump were forced to step down he'd try to convince Cheney to be his VP. The exploding heads would be well worth it and it would stop this nonsense dead.
Posted by: rjschwarz || 02/13/2017 12:49 Comments || Top||

#9  Pence would of course keep Bannon, Flynn and Conway. If Cheney were unavailable, his daughter "Liz" or Newt, or Rudy Giuliani. We're quite flexible.
Posted by: Besoeker || 02/13/2017 13:00 Comments || Top||

#10  If they were successful, Pence could take over and have Trump around as senior advisor.
