[WAPO] Gen. Manuel Noriega, the Panamanian strongman and onetime American ally who was toppled from power in a 1989 U.S. invasion and who spent more than two decades imprisoned on drug dealing and conspiracy convictions, has died. He was most likely 83.
The cause of death was not announced but Gen. Noriega had been in intensive care at a hospital for months after complications from surgery to remove a benign brain tumor.
Panamanian President Juan Carlos Varela announced the death on Twitter Tuesday morning, saying that the passing closes a chapter in the country’s history.
A career military man, Gen. Noriega led the Panamanian Defense Forces from 1983 until President George H.W. Bush ordered the invasion on Dec. 20, 1989, which followed months of deteriorating relations between Panama and the United States.
Gen. Noriega was a polarizing figure for decades after he was led in chains from Panama by U.S. marshals on Jan. 4, 1990, to a federal prison in Miami.

Notice the revoking of permits only applies to those of the opposition - conservatives. The June 4 Antifa event will be allowed to go on as planned. Important to consider that the murders did not take place during any "event" but the Dems moved immediately to impugn and entire ideology, as always.

Some questions occur:
Would local federal officials so openly go against their boss, the president?
If they did, what odds they would find themslves on the wrong side of President Trump's promise to downsize federal staffing by 20% through hiring freezes, retirements, and attrition?

BLUF: [WAPO] Ambassador Sergey Kislyak reported to his superiors in Moscow that Kushner, son-in-law and confidant to then-President-elect Trump, made the proposal during a meeting on Dec. 1 or 2 at Trump Tower, according to intercepts of Russian communications that were reviewed by U.S. officials. Kislyak said Kushner suggested using Russian diplomatic facilities in the United States for the communications. How very strange. Platte River Networks of Denver, CO. provided discreet, global, back-channel communications to the Clintons for years. Apparently no one noticed or said anything.
The meeting also was attended by Michael Flynn, Trump’s first national security adviser.
Kushner’s apparent interest in establishing a secret channel with Moscow, rather than relying on U.S. government systems, has added to the intrigue surrounding the Trump administration’s relationship with Russia. No real 'intrigue' but rather the exposure of a much larger classified documents and communications security (COMSEC) problem.

Seems as though I remember Soetoro sending special, rather secretive representatives to conduct face-to-face discussions on the Iranian deal. Soetoro always preferred the 'back nine' for more intimate discussions here at home. Clandestine monitoring and unauthorized leaks 'be hard' on the 'back nine.'

We don't have to be friends with Putin but we should at least be pragmatic enough to recognize that we have certain things in common with him and we for damn sure don't need a shooting war with him.
It's extremely difficult for me to say this but I have concluded that America dodged a bullet in the 2008 presidential election. As bad as Baraq Obama was, McCain would have been worse. He's a war monger and a dangerous mad man. It's bad enough having him in the Senate.

Sometimes I wonder if McCain's time at the Hanoi Hilton has left him with some mental baggage that he just can't, or won't, let go. The Russians as an ever-present Phantom Menace seem to be something he just can't shake.

The stories I have heard involved, all but beginning with "Now, this is no S**t..." like any salty Sea Story was that: Russian Intelligence Officers, sat in on interrogations, may have assisted with same, and possibly some of our ELINT specialists were 'disappeared' and reported as 'presumed KIA/No Body'... Stories, but they could certainly be something inhabiting the back of McCain's mind.

Russians sitting in on interrogations was a very common story back in the day. Clancy even used it as a sub-plot in one of his novels.
This maps into the Russian pilots flying some of the migs in 'nam and Korea as well. That is something that may have gotten to McCain, if he thinks the Russians shot him down........

Nothing at all to do with competence. It's a sort of a 'space-time continuum' strategy. Moving in all directions, over an extended period of time enables confusion and frustration. The higher number of marbles rolling around on the kitchen table, the more difficult it becomes to keep them from falling off. The unstated goal of course is to get certain marbles to 'fall off' and be forgotten.
Truth is fairly simple and straight forward. Trickery, confusion, and obfuscation require time to reach full maturation.
So what was Clinton and Lynch's meeting about on the plane a few days before the CLinton email probe about?
This "news" sounds more like someone trying to obscure.
a) was there No collusion
b) Is there proof the documents were fakes
c) any evidence as to who created the documents
Creating false evidence is one way to try and cover your tracks.
