Drudge on John McCain
h/t Instapundit
In a tweet that quickly amassed 5,500 or so likes, and near 2,800 retweets, Drudge simply wrote: "Corruption has so many faces ..."

The message was atop a photo of a McCain campaign photo that included the senator’s face and this text: "John McCain: Leading the fight to stop Obamacare."

Right. A picture says 1,000 words
.
But in this case, one suffices. And Drudge nailed it: Corruption.

McCain, pure and simple, screwed Republicans, conservatives and President Donald Trump on Obamacare repeal. And he did it simply because he could.

#3  Surely he will insist on an Arlington burial.
While there, I hope to spit on his grave.

#4  # 2 a favorite of mine. Peck did a great performance in the movie. The men responded knowing full well they would follow him to their deaths. The book was just as good in my opinion which is a rare thing to do in a movie. I see many great qualities in Trump demonstrating such a command of leadership. Forgoing his salary. Dealing with a false media steady on course unwavering in his purpose. Many cannot see what events he produces. They flounder in his wake. The forces arrayed against him may be great but he steers headlong steady on course to make America Great. Much like the founding of our country. This is history in the making.

#7  Second DV's comment. Add J. F'in Kerry to that sentiment as well.

#8  What do you expect from one of the Keating 5?

Wikipedia on Keating 5
The Keating Five were five United States Senators accused of corruption in 1989, igniting a major political scandal as part of the larger Savings and Loan crisis of the late 1980s and early 1990s. The five senators – Alan Cranston (Democrat of California), Dennis DeConcini (Democrat of Arizona), John Glenn (Democrat of Ohio), John McCain (Republican of Arizona), and Donald W. Riegle, Jr. (Democrat of Michigan) – were accused of improperly intervening in 1987 on behalf of Charles H. Keating, Jr., Chairman of the Lincoln Savings and Loan Association, which was the target of a regulatory investigation by the Federal Home Loan Bank Board (FHLBB). The FHLBB subsequently backed off taking action against Lincoln.

Lincoln Savings and Loan collapsed in 1989, at a cost of over $3 billion to the federal government (taxpayers). Some 23,000 Lincoln bondholders were defrauded and many investors lost their life savings. The substantial political contributions Keating had made to each of the senators, totaling $1.3 million, attracted considerable public and media attention. After a lengthy investigation, the Senate Ethics Committee determined in 1991 that Cranston, DeConcini, and Riegle had substantially and improperly interfered with the FHLBB's investigation of Lincoln Savings, with Cranston receiving a formal reprimand. Senators Glenn and McCain were cleared of having acted improperly but were criticized for having exercised "poor judgment".

All five senators served out their terms. Only Glenn and McCain ran for re-election, and they both retained their seats. McCain would go on to run for President of the United States twice, and was the Republican Party nominee in 2008. As of 2017, he is still a senator.

#9  The honorable and patriotic John McCain is neither. The fact that he is not honorable first became apparent with the Keating Five.

That he is not patriotic did not dawn on me until he dropped the Peegate document with the FBI in a deliberate attempt to undermine POTUS and the people who voted for him.

#10  Ladies and Gentlemen: John McCain the man is a problem that time and loathsome disease have already solved for us.

The problem that still needs to be addressed is twofold:

1. How did this wretch become our presidential nominee?

2. How did he continue to be reelected as a Republican?

I suggest that any progress whatsoever on these two issues would net a huge gain for the party and for the country.

#12  How did he continue to be reelected as a Republican?

I explained that to you earlier. You didn't pay attention.
