Comey Drafted Statement Clearing Hillary Before Interviewing Key Witnesses
[Daily Caller] As FBI director last year, James Comey began writing drafts of a statement exonerating Hillary Clinton, even before all witnesses in the investigation -- including Clinton herself -- had been interviewed.

The Senate Judiciary Committee obtained the Comey memos as part of its investigation into his firing by President Trump, which occurred on May 9.

The revelation that Comey had begun drafting memos of his exoneration statement comes from transcripts of interviews given last fall by two FBI officials.

James Rybicki, Comey’s chief of staff, and Trisha Anderson, the principal deputy general counsel of national security and cyberlaw at the FBI, gave the interviews as part of an investigation conducted by the Office of Special Counsel into the FBI’s handling of the Clinton email investigation.

In a July 5, 2016, press conference, Comey said that he would not be recommending charges against Clinton for mishandling classified information despite her use of a private email server as secretary of state.
Bill Clinton got the pre-brief the week before at Sky Harbor.
While the transcripts of those interviews are heavily redacted, they indicate that Comey started working on an announcement clearing Clinton in April or May of last year, before the FBI interviewed 17 witnesses in the case, including Clinton and some of her top aides.

Clinton was interviewed for several hours on July 2, just three days before Comey’s announcement.

In a letter to the FBI, Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley and South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham also noted that Comey’s draft was prepared even before two Clinton aides, Cheryl Mills and Heather Samuelson, had reached what the two Republicans called a "highly unusual" immunity deal with the Justice Department.

The limited immunity deal prohibited investigators and prosecutors from asking about conversations between the two Clinton aides and Platte River Networks, a Denver-based tech firm that maintained Clinton’s server after she left the State Department.

Grassley and Graham questioned whether Comey could have conducted a complete and impartial investigation if he had already made a conclusion about the outcome before all of the information in the case had been collected.

"Conclusion first, fact-gathering second -- that’s no way to run an investigation," Grassley and South Graham wrote the FBI. "The FBI should be held to a higher standard than that, especially in a matter of such great public interest and controversy."

"The outcome of an investigation should not be prejudged while FBI agents are still hard at work trying to gather the facts," they added.

The Sky Harbor airport meeting btwn Clinton and Lynch took place on Monday, 27 June 2016. Comey began work on his draft memo in April or May. Appears the decision had already been made. No sense having a meeting if there's nothing to report.

Prosecutors: Menendez Started Taking Bribes From Wealthy Donor Right After Entering Office
[Free Beacon] Federal prosecutors asserted in a new document filed Wednesday that Democratic Sen. Robert Menendez (NJ.) started taking bribes from a wealthy donor shortly after he entered the Senate in 2006.

Menendez's trial for bribery and corruption is set to begin next week, and Justice Department prosecutors laid out their case against the senator and his alleged co-conspirator, Dr. Salomon Melgen, who has been convicted but not yet sentenced for defrauding millions of dollars from Medicare in a separate case, Politico reported.

"The defendants' bribery scheme began shortly after Menendez's elevation to the Senate in 2006, when Melgen began a pattern of treating Menendez to weekend and weeklong getaways in the Dominican Republic that would continue for the next several years," prosecutors said in the filing.

"For the first four years of the corruption scheme, the all-expense paid trips Melgen provided often included free roundtrip flights on Melgen's private jet for Menendez and his various guests," prosecutors said. "When the doctor's private jet was unavailable, Melgen supplied equally luxurious travel for the senator."

Disaster groups charged with exploitation seeking #Harvey funds
[RT] Activists groups seeking funds to help for relief from Hurricane Harvey are coming under fire for alleged exploitation. One such group, the Texas Organizing Project is being singled out for raising funds to benefit labor unions.
This is besides the bad guys with guns.
In a post on social media calling for donations, the Texas Organizing Project stated that all donations “will only be used to organize in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.”

The statement drew criticism that the group was a front for big labor and the funds would support organizing the efforts of unions such as SEIU 1199, AFL-CIO, and the American Federation of Teachers, and not hurricane victims.

“So you are scamming kind-hearted people out of money making them believe that you are going to help Harvey victims, is that it? Harvey victims need help now with the very basics of life, not political activists making money off their horrible situation! You should be ashamed of yourselves. As a Texan myself, I cannot believe how wrong-minded your solicitation for donations is,” charged one.

Another opined “All donations made here will only be used ‘to organize in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.’ So none of the money will actually be given to hurricane victims. Good to know.”

A repost of the fund link on Twitter by political activist, Linda Sarsour, generated over 1,000 comments criticizing the goal of the fund.

With one tweet “Grifting money away from hurricane victims is about as low as someone can get.”

Another opined “@Twitter @TwitterSupport these relief funds are being funneled towards a political PAC and not towards victims .... do something pls”

Others took to Twitter to blast the relief efforts. Sarsour then tweeted that the ‘alt-right’ must have sent out an email blast.

Later she tweeted a list of organizations of where to send donations.

Calls to the Texas Organizing Project to ask about the fund and its beneficiaries as well as to SEIU 1199 were not returned.

#9  Mennonite, Southern Baptist Disaster Services came out here. SA has brought us sandwiches to endurance fires. Don't know much about SP, but that is good company.

Red Cross is all show no flow. They get the prime booth locations and plenty of media. Seem to have earned themselves a bit of a reputation.

About donating to SA, I was told the most effective way to help is to donate to the local chapter rather than the umbrella - nothing wrong with the umbrella, just faster more efficient with local knowledge.

Thanks DG8368, interesting read. I'm glad everyone is getting into the assist, but I did have to giggle a bit after the 'Sure there are a lot of sportsmen with boats going about but Anarchists, yeah, totally there, totally organizing a response. Antifa:boots on the ground.'

It is the same advice we are giving here; don't just throw money at it, do your research. There are coyotes and vultures at every disaster.

#13  Red Cross in San Diego had a rough period with an incompetent aloof aristocratic leader Dodie Rotherham the National RC removed, along with their entire board in 2002, in which the $ donated didn't reach the wildfire victims intended. Since then, they've cleaned house and their act up. Can't say how Texas's RC is....

-Signs, Portents, and the Weather-
Houston Democrat Mayor Just Had to Make Things Political
[IJR] As horrible as Hurricane Harvey has been, there have been countless glimpses of the best of humanity following the disaster.

When KHOU 11 News news hound Brandi Smith spotted a trucker with his life in danger from the flooding, she flagged down police to rescue the man.

After Aransas Police Officer Jack McCarty saw an American flag about to fly away, he weathered the fierce elements to save it.

NFL superstar J.J. Watt was paying close attention to it all, too. In fact, as of Tuesday, Watt has helped raise over $1 million for flood victims.

Rescues are still underway, and the flooding hasn't ended. However,
Switzerland makes more than cheese...
while the spirit of unity stays alive, Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner (D) has decided to make things political.

How? Turner is pledging himself to represent any illegal immigrants colonists in court who might face deportation in Houston.

According to the Texas Tribune:

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner on Monday morning sent a clear message to members of Houston's immigrant community who might fear seeking help during Hurricane Harvey because of their legal status.

"There is absolutely no reason why anyone should not call [for help]. And I and others will be the first ones to stand up with you," Turner, an attorney, said to news hounds. "If someone comes and they require help and then for some reason [someone] tries to deport them, I will represent them myself."

Sanctuary cities were outlawed in Texas after Gov. Greg Abbott (R) signed Senate Bill 4 into law in May. When Abbott signed the bill, he said, via Dallas News, "It simply makes sense. Citizens expect law enforcement officers to enforce the law, and citizens deserve lawbreakers to face legal consequences."

Turner, on the other hand, wants to put the law, which goes into effect September 1, on hold as rescue efforts continue. Though even after the dust settles, Turner hasn't shown any signs of goodwill toward the immigration law.

#5  OTOH, the Left makes everything about politics and their agenda moves from strength to strength irrespective of electoral defeats and bad polling.

And there will always be some natural disaster or other unexpected crisis to address; can we really expect to fix the long term problems this country faces if we're always putting action on hold in order to be good sports?

Sheila Jackson Lee: Lawmakers Should Pass $150B in Hurricane Harvey Aid
[PJMEDIA] Houston congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee
...the clownish U.S. Representative-for-life for Texas's 18th congressional district, serving since 1995. The district includes most of inner-city Houston. She is noted for her lack of tact and intellect. She is a member of the Democratic Party, and almost its epitome...
(D-Texas) said federal lawmakers should begin working on a Hurricane Harvey aid package worth about $150 billion, more than double the amount Hurricane Sandy needed five years ago.
U.S. population = 330m. That comes out to $454.54 for every man,
woman, gender indeterminate, and child.

Jackson Lee told CNN today that the funding to recover from the massive flooding is needed "because this not only includes the Houston Harris County area, which is 6 million in its metroplex, but all of our areas, such as Beaumont, that was hit last night, Victoria and Corpus and places in south Texas."

"We don't know where else Hurricane Harvey will come," she said. "And we understand it may turn back to Houston on tomorrow and the next day."

The confirmed death toll from the storm thus far is 15, including a family of six and a Houston police officer caught in the floodwaters.

The National Hurricane Center said today that Harvey, now a tropical storm, is moving north-northeast at a glacial 5 mph. "A general north-northeast track is expected today and tomorrow. On the forecast track, the center of Harvey is expected to be just offshore of the middle and upper coasts of Texas through tonight, then move inland over the northwestern Gulf coast early Wednesday," said their latest public advisory. "Maximum sustained winds remain near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts. No significant change in strength is expected before the center moves inland. A gradual weakening should begin thereafter."

UT fires teacher whose tweet blamed Harvey on Texas GOP vote
[TAMPABAY] A tweet suggesting that the devastation of Hurricane Harvey was "instant karma" for the red state of Texas has cost a University of Tampa professor his job — making him just the latest academic fired for off-duty speech.

The University first distanced itself from sociology professor Kenneth L. Storey on Monday. But a tide of online outrage continued. A #FireKenStorey hashtag spread far beyond the university. Angry Facebook comments piled up.

"Don't think this is a school we will be looking at for my daughter anymore," one commenter said. An alumnus wrote, "Good thing I already paid you, because I'll never send the school another dime again."

On Tuesday morning, the university fired him.

"We condemn the comments and the sentiment behind them, and understand the pain this irresponsible act has caused," spokesman Eric Cardenas said in a statement.

Storey told the Tampa Bay Times that, while saddened, he understands UT's decision. He got caught up in today's political climate, he said, and knows now that every 140-character post needs to be able to stand on its own.

"What they see in those tweets is not who I am," he said.
"I am somebody else."
"How I worded it was wrong. I care about people. I love this country.
"I didn't want to be fired. If I ever get another job I'll keep my mouth shut."
"I would never want to wish harm upon anyone."
"I am an asswipe."

San Fran Nan Condemns Antifa: ‘Our Democracy Has No Room for Inciting Violence’

(D., Calif.) denounced the radical leftist group "Antifa" and its violence in Berkeley, Calif. over the weekend.

The black-clad, masked, so-called "anti-fascist

In a statement published to her official website, Pelosi said the "perpetrators should be locked away

"Our democracy has no room for inciting violence or endangering the public, no matter the ideology of those who commit such acts," Pelosi said in her statement. "The violent actions of people calling themselves Antifa
...the armed wing of the Democratic Party...
in Berkeley this weekend deserve unequivocal condemnation, and the perpetrators should be arrested and prosecuted."

Ms. Feinstein made the comments during an hourlong conversation with former Rep. Ellen Tauscher at a sold-out Commonwealth Club event in Herbst Theater. According to several reports, Ms. Feinstein was on the receiving end of hisses and boos when she took a more diplomatic approach to discussing the president and whether he should resign or be impeached.

"I think we have to have some patience, I do," Ms. Feinstein, ranking member of the Judiciary Committee and a senior member on Intelligence, told the crowd. "It’s eight months into the tenure of the presidency ... We’ll have to see if he can forget himself and his feelings about himself enough to be able to have the empathy and direction that this country needs."

If he doesn’t, she said, "there are things that can be done." She added, however, that Mr. Trump would most likely serve out the rest of his term.

"This man is going to be president most likely for the rest of this term," Ms. Feinstein said. "I just hope he has the ability to learn and change. If he does, he can be a good president."

The San Francisco Chronicle reported that the crowd reacted to the comments with "stunned silence, broken only with scattered ’No’s’ and a few hisses and some nervous laughter."

Just standard Leftist Jargon for any elected official being assimilated by the Progressive Collective.
TL/DR: If he becomes a RINO he is 50% less despicable...

#3  Feinstein has a long history of trying to appear a bit less radical than colleagues like Boxer and Pelosi. Don't let her fool you.

#4  I'm pretty sure they've been polling and all the top Democrats have a list of bullet points they need to say on camera to be used in future campaign ads hoping to undo the damage they've already done to their brand.

It won't work. It'll drive the far left away as well. Snicker.

Bernie activists implore Vermont Sen. Sanders to consider leading new party
[WASHINGTONTIMES] Grass-roots activists are ramping up pressure on Sen. Bernard Sanders to appear at a town hall meeting next month to discuss launching a new progressive party and severing ties with the Democrats.

Nick Brana, founder of Draft Bernie for a People’s Party, said in an email blast on Wednesday that "progressives across the country are waiting to see if Bernie Sanders
...The only openly Socialist member of the U.S. Senate. Sanders was Representative-for-Life from Vermont until moving to the Senate for the rest of his life in 2006, assuming the seat vacated by Jim Jeffords...
will sit down with the working people who fought and sacrificed for him in 2016" and also said the group could reschedule.

The email comes two weeks after the group sent Mr. Sanders and members of his staff a letter informing him that activists plan to deliver 50,000 signatures to his congressional office on Friday, Sept. 8, asking him to become the face of a new party and to attend a "Draft Bernie Town Hall" event at a three-day "Convergence Conference" that is slated to kickoff that day at American University.

Schumer: Democrats Ready to ‘Fight' Republicans Over Tax Reform
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer
Senator-for-life from New York, renowned for his love of standing in front of cameras. Schumer has been a professional politician since 1975, when disco was in flower. Senate minority leader as of 2017.
(D., N.Y.) said Wednesday that Democrats are ready to fight with Republicans over tax reform legislation.

"This is going to be one of the biggest fights of the next three, four months, and Democrats are ready for it," Schumer told news hounds on a conference call held by a left-leaning group organized to oppose tax cuts for high earners, according to the Washington Examiner.

Earlier this month, 45 of 48 Senate Democrats signed a letter to President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
and GOP leaders demanding that they not support any bill that gives new breaks to the wealthiest Americans or adds to the deficit.

Schumer warned Wednesday that if the Republican tax reform plan lowers rates for the wealthy, "the American people are going to rise up against it."

His comments came the same day that Trump is traveling to Missouri to begin a public campaign for tax reform. Trump is expected to describe his plan as a benefit to middle-class workers that will create a more favorable tax system for American businesses to compete with global competitors.

Trump is seeking a simpler tax code, including middle-class tax cuts, to push for more job creation.

But Trump's chief economic adviser, Gary Cohn, said that the bulk of the responsibility is on Congress, not the president, to pass tax reform.

"At the end of the day, tax legislation has to happen in Congress and the House," Cohn told the Financial Times last week. "The Boodle Central will be drafting legislation and we will be on the road and holding meetings in Washington and elsewhere explaining why it is so important to have tax reform in America."

Rep. Kevin Brady (R., Texas), chairman of the House Boodle Central, has said that Trump will play an essential role in the legislative process to overhaul the country's tax system.

"You can't do this without presidential leadership," Brady said earlier this month. "My sense of President Trump, he's all in on tax reform."

#7  Schumer and the Democratic just might get butt hurt on this one. America is waking up to their corruption. The Democrats and some of the RINOS have used government coffers for their personal piggy bank for too long.
