-Lurid Crime Tales-
And the incredibly fair and unbiased James Comey had this to say about the Nunes memo:
[Neo-Neo Con] "That’s it?" If the allegations seem like a nothingburger to you, Mr. Comey, then it’s only more reason to hope you never get near a government post again.

"Dishonest and misleading"‐Which parts, and what is your evidence for claiming they are dishonest?

"wrecked the House intel committee"‐in what way? Is it not still in operation? The vote was along predictable party lines, as so many things are these days.

"damaged relationship with the FISA court"‐how, and whose relationship? If anything might have "damaged" that relationship, it would have been the alleged actions themselves, if in fact the FISA court was not informed of the extremely pertinent information about the origins of the dossier.

"inexcusably exposed classified investigation of an American citizen"‐If the investigation was begun through the use of partisan opp research, not only do Americans have a right to know, but that fact also provides the "excuse" for this "inexcusable" exposure. What’s more, virtually all of the information contained in the dossier and released was already in the public domain, having been revealed by internal leaks to the MSM. I don’t recall Comey being so incensed at that.

In fact, I seem to recall that a leaker of other classified information was Comey himself:

#2  if in fact any of these guys get charged

Hopefully, that will happen. We lost the rule of law during the Clinton and Obama administrations. The Dems and the MSM covered for them throughout and continue to do so.

#3  What is the difference between Timothy James McVeigh and James Comey? Not a lot! Tim used a bomb to try to destroy the government. James' is using the “law” to destroy the government.

Inside The HPSCI Memo – A Key Distinction Being Conflated

The FISA 'warrant' request, against Carter Page, was made October 21st, 2016, under Title I of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. Meaning the surveillance application was specifically stating, to the court, the U.S. individual was likely an actual agent of a foreign government, ie. "a spy."

The DOJ (National Security Division) and the FBI (Counterintelligence Division) were not asking to review ancillary data collected on U.S. Person Carter Page as an outcome of surveillance on a foreign person, or foreign agent; that would be Title 7 (FISA-702).

In action outlined within the HPSCI memo, the DOJ and FBI were specifically telling the FISA court they had evidence that U.S. Person Carter Page was working as an agent of a foreign government. He was their target, and therefore requesting direct FISA Title 1 surveillance of that target on October 21st, 2016.

To give validity to the underlying position of the DOJ and FBI, the justice department used: the Clinton-Steele Dossier; media reports from -and of- the Clinton-Steele dossier; and opposition research provided by Clinton financed Fusion-GPS through Nellie Ohr, so they could monitor U.S. Person Carter Page.

In total, this sketchy assembly of political campaign research was used by the FBI as evidence to back-up their claim U.S. person Carter Page was working as a foreign agent; essentially saying: he was a spy. This application assembly was then certified on four different occasions by specific officials within the DOJ and FBI.

Without knowing the court had been provided political research, the FISA Court granted the FBI full surveillance authority for U.S. Person Carter Page. The distinction is rather stark.

The FBI was not targeting Page incidentally as an outcome of foreign intelligence collection; the FBI was targeting Carter Page directly. AND as such, they carried full surveillance authority upon all of these activities, interactions, communications, and contacts therein.

Because of this direct approach, any group, organization or entity who came in contact with U.S. Person Carter Page was then open for ancillary review and FBI investigation. Those who engaged in contact with Carter Page became subject to surveillance and searches in the same manner as if Page was an actual foreign agent.

I think that you need to add Obama Deep State to your Organization pull-down.

#1  Appears (if I have this correct) Mr. Page was the FBI's FISA ticket for collection. Once collection began, incidental collection was freely exploited as well. 'Incidental collection' (of the greater Trump team) then being the actual target.

Still does not explain Steele's reported motivation and enthusiasm to destroy the Donald Trump candidacy.

As some have speculated, the Nunes memo is the tip of the iceberg.

#2  Still does not explain Steele's reported motivation and enthusiasm to destroy the Donald Trump candidacy.

Didn't Steele receive $160,000 from Fusion-GPS? That would seem to me to be sufficient explanation.

The Nunes memo has been released
[AXIOS] The House Intelligence Committee has released, without redactions, the classified Nunes memo on alleged FISA abuses. The release was vehemently opposed by the intelligence community, with the FBI issuing a rare public statement to express its "grave concerns about material omissions of fact that fundamentally impact the memo's accuracy."

The Wrong Side Of Z Street
[POWERLINEBLOG] If there was a federal agency that Barack Obama
My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you'll join with me as we try to change it...
did not corrupt, it must be because it was corrupt when he took over in 2009. The corruption of the IRS
...the Internal Revenue Service; that office of the United States government that collects taxes and persecutes the regime's political enemies...
is a case in point. Its criminal misconduct perfectly represents what Obama wrought in the agencies that he charged with dictating the way we live. Consider the case of Lori Lowenthal Marcus and Z Street.

Judge tosses suit against Trump over CFPB chief
Elizabeth Warren hardest hit
Score one for President Trump.

A Manhattan federal judge on Friday threw out of court a lawsuit that claimed Trump had no legal authority to appoint an interim head of a Wall Street watchdog.

The Lower East Side People's Credit Union had asked the court to block the White House's move to install Mick Mulvaney as the interim boss of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which monitors credit cards, loans, and other consumer financial products, because it violated the agency's rules.

But Judge Paul G. Gardephe, in a 20-page decision, said the credit union didn't have standing to challenge the appointment.
"Plaintiff's standing cannot be premised on the CFPB's stated intent to engage in rulemaking," Gardephe wrote.

The CFPB has been at the center of a political firestorm since November, when its former director resigned abruptly and appointed his chief of staff, Leandra English, to an interim director position.
too cute
That set up a challenge to the White House, which had appointed Mulvaney, the director of the Office of Management and Budget who has been extremely critical of the agency.

The win is the second for Trump in his battle for control of the agency. A separate case challenging Mulvaney's appointment, filed in Washington, DC, was also dismissed. That case is on appeal.

Maxine Waters: There should be a disclaimer when Trump appears on TV
[THEHILL] Rep. Maxine Waters
U.S. Representative for California's 43rd congressional district, serving since 1991, a total of 26.175211639509975 years. A member of the Democratic Party, she is the most senior of the 12 black women currently serving in the United States Congress, is a member and former chair of the Congressional Black Caucus. Before becoming a member of Congress she served in the California Assembly, to which she was first elected back when Disco was in flower, in 1976, which would make it 41.17315825141963 years. She has been a politician for virtually all her adult life. If she was brighter she'd be a Communist...
'>Comrade Maxine Waters
(D-Calif.) says President Trump’s addresses to the nation are so dangerous that they should come with a parental advisory.

"This president with his vulgarity and his disrespect for women and people of color is a terrible role model for our children," Waters said Wednesday, in her response to Trump’s State of the Union address.

"Whenever he appears on TV, there should be a disclaimer that says ’This may not be acceptable for children.’"
Only if all your video's and writing carry the disclaimer: "This woman is a batshit crazy commie."

Waters, a frequent critic of the president, said Trump’s calls for unity in his speech were ironic given his past "racist" statements.

"Yesterday Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
had the audacity to call upon people to set aside differences when, in reality, he has divided Americans in ways no other modern president has done," Waters said in a pre-recorded video aired on BET.

As an example of the president's divisive
...politicians call things divisive when when the other side sez something they don't like. Their own statements are never divisive, they're principled...
ness, Waters pointed to Trump's statement last summer that there were people to "blame on both sides" at a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va., during which a counterprotester was killed. She also pointed to his reported "shithole countries" remark about Haiti, El Salvador and African nations.

What Could Go Wrong? NY To Give Tablet Computers To 51,000 Prison Inmates
[Hot Air] Good news for every inmate in New York State prisons: Each of you will soon be receiving your own tablet computer.

The free tablets for all 51,000 state prisoners are being sold to the public as an opportunity to educate prisoners for a law-abiding life when their sentence is completed. Although inmates will not have uncontrolled Internet access, prison system officials say the individual devices will help prisoners keep in touch with their families and become better prepared to reenter lawful society.

Get all the facts out on the FBI, Justice Department
[The Hill] Mark Penn (Mark Penn served as pollster and adviser to Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton, including during President Clinton’s impeachment, and today is chairman of the Harris Poll.)

Both the New York Times and the Washington Post yesterday ran editorials calling for prior restraint on a memo written by the duly elected chairman of the House Intelligence Committee after he and his staff reviewed classified documents related to the so-called Russia investigation. These editorials are a stain on American journalism, much like the Japanese internment camps were a stain on the record of the Supreme Court. They should ‐ and, I think, will over time ‐ regret them.

I have no idea what is in this memo, but it’s a memo. It’s speech. It’s from the very staff and people our Constitution assigns to oversee the Justice Department and the FBI. And the elected officials who wrote it think I should see it. The people who don’t want me to see it are the elected officials and leaders of the Democratic Party, the institutions and individuals whose actions are being reviewed, and several of the same newspapers that went to court to publish the "Pentagon Papers."

Whether the Nunes memo is a smoking gun or a pop gun, it deserves to see the light of day ‐ and the editorial writers should think about how they came to support prior restraint over sunshine and open debate. Perhaps more importantly, the news pages need to stop covering a story that has brought down six senior officials as just partisan sniping and recognize that the actions of the FBI and the Justice Department in relation to both these investigations need to come out of the darkness and be fully revealed to the American public.

Ya know, I have a lot of questions for the FBI also. That includes Mueller who was Director of the FBI when all of the above happened on his watch.
