Congressional Investigators Struggling To Find Alleged Dossier Source
[Daily Caller] Congressional investigators are struggling to track down an alleged source for some of the most salacious claims made in the Steele dossier.

Congressional committees investigating Russian interference in the presidential campaign have tried for months to track down Sergei Millian, a Belarus-born translator who serves as chairman for a small trade group called the Russian-American Chamber of Commerce, ABC News reported.

Millian was identified by The Wall Street Journal, ABC News and The Washington Post in 2017 as the unwitting source for some of the dossier’s most jarring and unverified allegations, including that the Kremlin is blackmailing President Donald Trump and that members of the campaign coordinated with Russian operatives.

Millian is reportedly referred to as "Source D" and "Source E" ‐ and described as a "close associate of Trump" ‐ in the dossier, which was written by former British spy Christopher Steele.

#1  Deripaska’s American lobbyist, Adam Waldman, claimed in text message exchanges in 2017 with Virginia Sen. Mark Warner, a Democrat, that he was in touch with Steele.

The clandestine communications of Sen. Mark Warner, a wonderment that will likely go nowhere.

That would make him quite difficult to locate.

#6  Methinks Steele dreamed a lot of this stuff up and gave names to "sources" during a quick walk through a Moscow cemetery.

Embattled VA secretary says he's not quitting over travel abuses
[NYP] WASHINGTON ‐ Campaigning to keep his job, Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin said Tuesday he had no intention of quitting despite blistering findings of travel abuses connected to his 11-day trip to Europe. He issued an extraordinary warning to VA staff rebelling against him: Get back in line or get out.
Resign? No, he should be FIRED !

#1  I think there is more to this than travel expenses. CNN seems to be all over this, which to me is a red flag.

#2  I noticed that CNN and Wapo seem to use the same language regarding Shulkin. I went to Wikipedia and noticed largely the same comments and structure. I then went to the edit page to track changes, who makes them, and what the changes are. I see what appears to be an edit war in progress. Additions, deletions, revisions, made moments apart.

Believe nothing; this is orchestrated. Propaganda.

POTUS Directs Justice Department To Take Steps To Ban Bump Stocks
[Huffpoo] President Donald Trump announced he has ordered Attorney General Jeff Sessions to take steps to ban bump stocks, the type of gun modification that enabled Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock to kill 58 people in October.

"Just a few moments ago, I signed a memorandum directing the attorney general to propose regulations to ban all devices that turn legal weapons into machine guns," Trump said Tuesday while speaking at a medal of valor ceremony at the White House. "I expect that these critical regulations will be finalized ... very soon."

Bump stocks are devices that allow a semiautomatic gun to fire as quickly as a machine gun. Paddock was found to be in possession of more than a dozen assault-style rifles, many outfitted with bump stocks and 100-round magazines. He was ultimately able to fire more than 1,100 rounds in a period of 10 minutes.

In 2010, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives ruled that it did not have the authority to regulate bump stocks because they are not technically "machine guns," which federal law defines as firearms that shoot more than one shot per pull of the trigger.

Justice Department officials said in December that they do not believe they could regulate bump stock sales without congressional action, according to The New York Times.

#1  Don't listen to those idiots. We need armed guards at schools like we have a theaters and malls. Maybe park the Peace Officers station next to the schools - or a fire house. Just protect the Softest of targets.

Equipment is meaningless, Trump. Defense is the paydirt in this war of fire against fire.

Don't listen to the commies, this place will never be dis-armed and that would make everything worse.

#2  A piece of kit no one needs. You want to fire a machine gun, join the bloody army. The NRA would do well to praise the POTUS move.

Make it a Class-III device and there will never be another one sold.

#3  Banning bump stocks is a sop to the left. Most gun enthusiasts & sportsmen don't seem to care much about such a ban. Some gun ranges and clubs have fully automatic firearms should someone want to have the experience of shooting a fully auto gun.

Bumps stocks were involved in exactly one incident in Las Vega. I can't think of any other shootings where bump stock or fully auto firearms have been used in mass shootings.

Bump stocks and guns are not the problem. Crazy people are the problem. There are plenty of gun laws. That is not the problem.

The biggest problems as, I see it, are: 1. Radicalized and crazy people, and 2. Not acting upon available information about crazy or radicalized people.

#4  I doesn't matter, a ban won't be enough for the left.

#5  I seem to remember a bolt-action 6.5 mm Carcano doing some damage at one time. Fired three aimed rounds within 8.3 seconds supposedly.

They'll eventually come for everything, even my old single-shot Stevens 410.

#6  The bump stock devices use inertia to increase the fire rate. How do you craft a law that has language narrow enough not affect the internal mechanics of semi-automatic guns? Not to mention, one can accomplish simmilar fire rates with an elastic strap, the correct trigger weight, and minimum practice.

#7  DepotGuy,
Only need to purchase patent and stop production.
Of course, the government will find a less discreet way of doing things.

#9  Bump stocks and guns are not the problem. Crazy people are the problem.

Far fewer bumpers than Crazy People.
They are easier to detect and count.
Manufacturing is easier to regulate.

#11  Bumpstocks aren’t the issue.

The solution to school shootings is to quit having schools a soft target. This will involve staff trained and certified in concealed carry of firearms.

Also, one approach never mentioned is to educate students on what they can do to protect their classmates, teachers, and themselves. I taught my son and his chums what they could do to protect their class. It does not involve hiding under a desk. I can understand students’ horror and outrage, but the authorities cultivate the victim like sheep rather than showing what students can do to help themselves.

#12  Can we still buy the $500 license and just go full automatic?
Posted by: Procopius2k || 02/21/2018 12:27 Comments || Top||

#13  They talked to the original ATF agent that made the determination on bump stocks and he pointed out you can use a belt loop, or even just your finger and he demonstrated how it can be done. The language will have to be very narrowly defined.
Posted by: Silentbrick || 02/21/2018 12:29 Comments || Top||

#14  Let me get this straight. The US military moved away from auto fire on assault rifles and towards three shot bursts because auto-fire was less accurate and tended to waste bullets.

Bump stock semi-duplicates auto-fire so we want to ban it?

Shouldn't we be promoting anything that makes a shooter less accurate and more likely to run out of bullets quickly?
Posted by: rjschwarz || 02/21/2018 12:54 Comments || Top||

#15  You don't have to be all that accurate when you're shooting at thousands of people crowded together to watch a concert. Just point and shoot. You can't miss.

#16  I understood that most automatic weapons recoil upwards and you end up shooting above the target after the first shot or two.

#17  The problem is leftists and the GODAMNED democrat party.

They make everybody crazy. Sometimes they make me want to lose my mind too.

Most all of these murderers were of leftist persuasion or of the do it yourself jihad type.

Ban the leftists and the GODAMNED democrat party and much of this goes away. Less to be crazy about.

I hate them more than anything on this planet right now for what they have done here.

#18  #10 Surrendering rights for a moment's peace from the histrionic left. Not a good trade.

That is the truth. The camel nose under the tent thing. Soon the entire camel will be in the tent once the nose is allowed in.

What #17 newc said. Over a lifetime, I continually get confirmation of this.

I'd be for armed guards/police in schools. Where guards/police have been in schools or in other venues, it seems to be a deterrent if someone might shoot back.

#19  "I'd be for armed guards/police in schools. Where guards/police have been in schools or in other venues, it seems to be a deterrent if someone might shoot back. "

This is the only way. Follow Israel and you will know you are correct.

Even if they tried to take all the guns, the problem would persist.

They refuse to address this and use it as a Baseball bat to hammer in their phony utopia.

Today, I watched those Children on the tv as the media exploited them for political purpose for the democrat party.
Looks like they got t-shirts and had a rally too.
That school is an abomination.
