The Ministry of Defense (MoD) said at least 21 murderous Moslems of the terror group were also maimed in the kaboom.

A statement by MoD said the murderous Moslems were looking to transport an bomb from Mazdaki area of Achin district to Shedil Bazar of the same district when the explosives went off prematurely.

The loyalists of the ISIS terrorist group are attemtping to continue to their insurgency activities despite the terror group suffered setbacks during the recent months as a result of the coordinated military operations.

The provincial officials in Nangarhar province announced earlier this month that the counter-terrorism operations to suppress the activities of the terror group concluded after 21 days.

The officials further added nearly 300 loyalists of the terror group were killed or maimed during the operations.

The operations were launched by the Afghan cops amid concerns that the loyalists of the terror group are establishing a regional operational base as they were attempting to consolidate operations with the terror group in Syria and Iraq.

The coalition officials estimated around 1,000 to 3,000 Islamic State fighters are stationed in in eastern Afghanistan and are trying to establish a base of operations in the rugged mountains of Nangahar Province.

Arabia
Soddy backed forces exploit gains in Taiz
TAIZ: Yemeni forces allied to internationally recognized President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi began consolidating over military and government buildings in regions liberated from militia groups in the southwestern province of Taiz, Al Arabiya said on Sunday.

Taiz’s Mayor Ali Al-Muammari said the Popular Resistance Units started handing over freed buildings to the pro-Hadi army.

Medical supplies provided by Saudi Arabia have also reached the main Al-Thawra hospital in Taiz for the first time since last year, a medic at the facility said.

The news comes after spokesman for the Saudi-led coalition Brig.
Gen. Ahmed Al-Assiri announced on Saturday that pro-Hadi forces have claimed control over the interior of the city, vowing that the Iran-backed Houthi militias, who control the capital Sanaa and other areas, would be dislodged.

Meanwhile, Saudi-led helicopters attacked Al-Qaeda militants in Aden in an effort to dislodge them from a stronghold in the southern port city, a security official said on Sunday.

Witnesses and medics said Apache helicopters from the Saudi-led coalition struck armored vehicles and a government compound used by the militants in Al-Mansoura district, a stronghold in north Aden. Coalition aircraft provided support and hit a military convoy that was trying to bring reinforcements to the rebels, the sources said.

Medics said a total of 18 people have been killed — 17 suspected militants and one civilian bystander — and at least 23 civilians and militants were wounded. Three members of the security forces were also injured.

Security forces cordoned off an area of Al-Mansoura district where dozens of suspected militants are believed to be holed up, while warplanes from the Saudi-led coalition dropped leaflets on the area telling residents to stay home and report any militants to authorities.

A tenuous calm in the district was broken occasionally with bursts of gunfire. The city’s governor said the operation was the second phase of a government campaign to restore state control over the city, the temporary seat of the Yemeni government.

Bahrain deports several Lebanese for Hezbollah links
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Bahrain on Monday announced it had deported several Lebanese for Hezbollah links, the Gulf state's Interior Ministry said in a tweet on Monday.

The move came after Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
on Sunday said it will deport anyone sympathizing with the myrmidon Hezbollah group after the Arab League
...an organization of Arabic-speaking states with 22 member countries and four observers. The League tries to achieve Arab consensus on issues, which usually leaves them doing nothing but a bit of grimacing and mustache cursing...
declared the movement as "terrorist," Al Arabiya News Channel reported.

An Interior Ministry statement carried by the state news agency SPA said that Saudis and expatriates would be subjected to "severe penalties" under the kingdom's regulations and anti-terrorism laws.

The Arab League on Friday formally branded Hezbollah a terrorist organization, a move that raises concerns of deepening divisions among Arab countries and ramps up the pressure on the Shiite group, which is fighting on the side of Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad

in Syria.

The Arab League’s decision followed the blacklisting of Hezbollah by Gulf states.

Tiny but strategic Bahrain, which is connected to regional Sunni powerhouse Saudi Arabia by a causeway, lies across the Gulf from Shiite Iran and is home to the US Fifth Fleet.

Despite the crackdown on the 2011 uprising, protesters continue to clash frequently with police in Shiite villages outside the capital Manama.

Two UAE fighter pilots killed in jet crash in Yemen
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The Arab coalition said on Monday that two Emirati pilots were killed after their jet crashed in Yemen.

The Saudi state news agency SPA said that the crash was caused by "technical difficulties."

Rebels reject local ceasefire proposal in Yasinovataya

Russian backed rebels temporarily rejected proposals on Monday for a local ceasefire to allow the restarting of a water filtration plant. The water plant is now under fire because of fighting near Yasinovataya, according to Russian language news accounts.

The water plant, which serves more than 440,000 residences, has been shut down for two days because the plant came under mortar fire. According to data supplied by regnum.ru Russian language news outlet, among the towns in rebel territory affected by the shutdown are Donetsk city, Yasinovataya, Vasilevka and Spartak. Towns in Ukrainian held territory affected by the shutdown include Advievka, Krasnogolovka and Verhnetoretskoe.

The rebels say the mortar fire is coming from the Ukrainian side, while the Ukrainians say it was rebel mortar fire which forced the plant to shut down.

Proposals coming from Ukrainian and Russian military observers with the Joint Center for Coordination and Control, an organization set up by the September, 2014 ceasefire, had been rejected by rebel officials without explanation. The problem with the proposed ceasefire, according to a news account which appeared in tsensor.net, was rebel guarantees for the safety of inspectors for the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) to come to the area.

Ukrainian media charged that rebels had rejected a local ceasefire in the area so they can buy time to hide heavy weapons the Ukrainians say are in the area including 122mm artillery, as well as 82mm and 120mm mortars. All of those weapons are forbidden in the line of contact.

The latest report is that the OSCE have received their safety guarantees and will appear in the area first thing Tuesday morning.

An informal account posted on reserve FSB Colonel Igor Girkin's VKontakte page by a Russian writer identified as Egor Zemtsov tells of Ukrainian attempts to penetrate zones held by rebel troops around Yasinovataya. Artillery duels between the two combatants continue with rebel artillery firing in a counterbattery role. Rebel reports say Ukrainian artillery sited at Opytnoye, Peski and Avdievka are doing most of the firing at Yasinovataya as well as in Donetsk city.

The report says that losses on both sides are increasing. "There are dead and wounded," Zemtsov wrote.

Another report by an unidentified resident, presumably with some military experience said that Ukrainians are jamming rebel radio communications.

A Live Journal account posted by an individual identified as Kharkova said that the Ukrainians have thrown into operations one battalion of the Ukrainian 25th Airmobile Brigade, including one six gun battery of 122mm artillery. The artillery unit, said the report, is expected to go into action on the night of March 13th to March 14th, to support attacks on rebel positions at Yasinovataya.

The battle in Yasinovataya had been running for more than a week when Ukrainian forces, part of the Ukrainian 58th Independent Motorized Rifle Brigade moved three rifle companies (about 350 effectives) and their heavy vehicles into a neutral zone between Gorlovka, which is to the northeast, and Advievka, which is to the southwest, and, according to rebel media, started firing on rebel troops.

Rebel officials have characterized the move as a "creeping offensive", a slow moving operation meant to apply pressure on rebel forces to back away from their positions.

As rebel reports previously established, rebel forces held a line along a road junction which splits into two roads: highway E50, which runs into Gorlovka, and H20, which communicates to points northwest, including into Ukrainian held territory. The result has been massive auto and foot traffic tie ups in rebel held territory.

The rebels have held a checkpoint near the road junction which has been under mortar and direct gun fire since last week. That checkpoint was shut down several days ago. Now, local residents have no road to travel into Gorlovka, and those who wish to travel to Konstantinovka, which is northwest of Gorlovka, must take a longer, more circuitous route.

According to a news account in Gorlovka Pravda, automobile traffic between Donetsk city and Gorlovka is severely restricted, while foot traffic to Gorlovka, which has to go around from the contested E50/H20 road junction, involves more delays. The report says that people traveling by road are being forced to travel into Lugansk which entails further delays through more rebel checkpoints.

Ukrainian Ceasefire Violations

Rebel military officials say that Ukrainian forces have fired on rebel troops nearly 300 times in the last 24 hours, with nearly all the activity concentrated in Yasinovataya and in western Doentsk city. According to official rebel reports, Ukrainian forces fired on rebel positions near Yasinovataya using mortar and tank gunfire.

According to a separate rebel defense ministry news release, Ukrainian forces fired into the northern village of Zaistevo, which is a suburb of Gorlovka, using 82mm mortars and small arms fire. According to Gorlovka Pravda, a total of 10 residences were damaged by the nighttime shelling, with two destroyed. The firing came from three directions, according to the Gorlovka Pravda news report.

Two unidentified rebel soldiers were wounded in the shelling, according to Donetsk ministry of defense officials.

Rebel officials charged the the Ukrainian ministry of defense is deliberately falsely stated casualties in the fighting at Yasinovataya, now standing, according to rebel estimates, at 31 dead and 72 wounded.

Although officially, rebel military officials have not admitted to any combat deaths, unofficially rebel troops are suffering from mortar and sniper fire, with at least two dead and three wounded in Yasinovataya alone on Monday, with hints of more.

Palestinian-American member of ISIS surrenders: Iraqi general
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] A Paleostinian-American member of ISIS on Monday gave himself up to an Iraqi Kurdish military unit in the country"s north, an Iraqi Kurdish general said.
Cut his head off.
The circumstances of the surrender were not fully disclosed but it marked a rare instance in which an ISIS fighter voluntarily gave himself up to Iraqi or Kurdish forces in Iraq. In neighboring Syria, meanwhile, Syrian Kurdish fighters battling the ISIS, have told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named that they are seeing an increase in the number of ISIS members surrendering following recent territorial losses.

Maj. Gen. Feisal Helkani of the Iraqi Kurdish peshmerga forces, which are playing a key role along with the Iraqi military in battling the bad boy ISIS group, identified the individual who surrendered as Mohammed Jamal Amin.

Helkani said the man is a Paleostinian-American who has been fighting with ISIS in Iraq and who surrendered on Monday morning near the town of Sinjar, which was retaken by Iraqi forces from ISIS gunnies late last year.

According to Helkani, Amin was carrying with him a large amount of cash, three cell phones and three forms of identification, including a U.S. driving license. The ISIS fighter is currently being held by the peshmerga troops for interrogation, Helkani added.

American ISIS member mistakenly walks into Peshmerga hands on way to Turkey
Whoops!
[Rudaw] The Kurdish Peshmerga captured an American member of the Islamic State (ISIS) on the Shingal front on Monday, said a local commander.

Muhammad Jamal Amin is a Virginia-born American citizen of a Palestinian father and Iraqi mother from Mosul.

According to the Peshmerga commander of the Shingal front who didn’t want to be named, the ISIS militant had mistaken the Peshmerga territory for the Turkish border.
Map reading is the next badge he wants to earn. Followed by orienteering.
The commander said that Amin had entered Syria from Turkey two months ago from where he had traveled to Mosul.

On his way back to Turkey he had mistakenly walked into the Peshmerga hands.

The Peshmerga commander said that a number of cell phones, some money and ID cards were seized from the militant.

The Peshmerga fired on him before he reached their base and later detained him.
Drain him dry, then cut his head off.
More from The Times of Israel:
The man had been “lurking near the peshmerga lines” since late Sunday night, according to Maj. Gen. Feisal Helkani. Helkani said his troops first tried to shoot the man, assuming he was a would-be suicide bomber.

“Then in the morning, he walked across and gave himself up,” Helkani said.

A photograph of the IS fighter’s driving license from Virginia was posted on social media sites, identifying him as Mohamad Jamal Khweis, 27, from Alexandria, Virginia. The discrepancy between the fighter’s family name on the license and the one provided by the Kurdish general could not immediately be reconciled. His first name was also spelled differently.
Which led to this discovery:
Parents of IS Fighter Thought He Was in Canada

[VOANews] ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA — Mohamed Khweis’s parents were awakened Monday morning by a VOA reporter and cameraman at the family’s townhouse in Alexandria, Virginia.

"We thought he was in Canada lately,” said a woman who identified herself as Khweis's mother. “We also know he has been traveling to Turkey.”

But the parents had not been in contact with the son for a long time. They had no idea he was in Iraq or had ties with any extremist groups.

When shown a published photo of Khweis in Kurdish custody , the family said they were not certain it was him.

“The guy in the picture is not my brother,” insisted Tamer Khweis, a college student and a younger brother of Mohammed Khweis.

“There are similarities, but I can’t confirm because the picture isn’t clear,” his mother said.

Khweis' personal belongings might have been stolen and have ended up in Iraq, the family suggested.
The pre-ISIS Mohammed Khweis must have worn out his mirror, he was so carefully groomed, according to the photo at the link. The picture shown from the Peshmerga is not nearly so clear.

ISIS returns to Rutba
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The ISIS group on Monday returned to the desert town of Rutba in western Iraq, less than a day after vacating it, officials said.

The mayor of the remote town in Anbar province had warned when ISIS pulled out that the krazed killer organization may just be testing the population’s allegiance.

"Daesh [Islamic State] (ISIS) has re-established its control on the city of Rutba... which it had left the previous day," said a senior officer in the Jazeera Operations Command in charge of the area.

"Daesh [Islamic State] came back from Al-Qaim with armored vehicles and artillery," the officer said, speaking on condition of anonymity
... for fear of being murdered...
"They deployed them on the outskirts of the town and at the main entrances, as if to defend it from any attack by the security forces," he said.

"However,
a lie repeated often enough remains a lie...
Daesh [Islamic State]’s foreign leaders previously based in Rutba did not return," he said.

Rutba lies about 390 kilometers (245 miles) west of Baghdad on the road to Jordan.

Imad Ahmed, the town’s mayor, said "it was like a trick played by ISIS on the locals."

He had told AFP after ISIS’s pullout on Sunday that the jihadist group may be trying to lure out members of the population secretly cooperating with the security forces.

Ahmed and Raja Barakat, the head of the Anbar provincial council’s security committee, confirmed that the foreign ISIS fighters in Rutba had not returned.

Military officials had warned after the ISIS pullback on Sunday that the Iraqi security forces could not move in immediately to take over the town ISIS had abandoned.

Rutba is far from the government forces’ main bases and any large-scale operation would require planning and the approval of the country’s top military leadership.

Palestinian women caught with knives ‘on way to attack’
[IsraelTimes] Two Paleostinian women have been nabbed
Into the paddy wagon wit' yez!
after security forces found knives in their bags at the Zeitim checkpoint on the outskirts of Jerusalem, police say.

Border Police and Military Police discovered and seized the weapons during a standard procedure search.

The two women, ages 24 and 28 from Abu Dis near Jerusalem, were arrested. Police say the initial interrogation revealed they were "on their way to carry out a terror attack."

#1  Wouldn't it only make sense to have those knives tested for sharpness on those who carried them, the entire testing procedure to be carried out in the open at the border crossing? It might cause other knives to be quietly carried back home.

Hamas commander killed in 10th tunnel cave-in this year
[IsraelTimes] A tunnel collapse in Gazoo killed a commander with Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,’s military wing, the group said Monday, in the 10th such cave-in since the start of 2016.

A brigades front man described the collapse as a "work accident," the Paleostinian Ma’an news agency reported.

The tunnel collapse occurred in the Shejaiyah neighborhood east of Gazoo City, where some of the most intense fighting of the 2014 war between Israel and Gazoo-based fighters took place.

The field commander killed in the collapse was named by the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades as Abd al-Salah al-Butnaji, 36.

The collapse came days after another tunnel collapse near Rafah killed two people. Since January 10 tunnels have caved in and 14 people have been killed, according to Hamas figures.

It is not clear what is causing the collapse of the tunnels or what their purpose is. Israeli officials have warned that Hamas has begun rebuilding its network of subterranean tunnels, some of which could extend into Israeli territory and be used for surprise attacks, as they were in 2014.

Jerusalem says it is working on a secret technological solution to the problem. When asked if Israeli forces were causing the tunnel collapses earlier this year, an IDF commander would only say "God knows."

Egypt has also been working to thwart the construction of smuggling tunnels into the Sinai peninsula by flooding them.

On Thursday, five Paleostinians were rescued after an underground passage leading from the southern Gazoo town of Rafah into neighboring Egypt fell in. Another two were pulled out dead on Sunday.

That incident was caused by Egyptian flooding of the border zone in its campaign to stop smuggling, an official told AFP.

Two Thai militants nabbed in Yala raid
[Bangkok Post] Two suspected militants wanted for violent incidents were arrested in a raid by a combined military and police force in Yala province early Sunday morning. The 50-strong unit laid siege to several houses in the district after learning that some wanted suspects were hiding there.

Authorities arrested two suspects in the raid, Mustofa Alimama and Kariya Luemaesa. The two are suspected to have been involved in an attack that killed a border patrol police commander in June of 2008. They were also thought to be involved in a gun attack on an armored car on March 6 this year.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Broken Clock: ISIS frees 19 hostages
[ARA News] QAMISHLI – Radicals of the Islamic State (ISIS) released 19 Yezidi hostages who had been abducted during the group’s major attack on the district of Shingal in northern Iraq, Kurdish officials confirmed on Monday.
The check cleared. No big party this time, but at least the lads will finally get paid.
“The hostages were held by the terror group in the Syrian ISIS-controlled city of Raqqa. They arrived in the Region earlier this week,” said Hussein Qaedi, head of the abductees affairs office in the city of Duhok, Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

The Kurdish official pointed out that the majority of the released hostages were children and women, while there remained thousands of Yezidis in the group’s prisons.

Speaking to ARA News, Rotik Shemmo, a displaced Yezidi based in Tirbespi northeast Syria, said that everyone disappointed the Yezidis during the ISIS-led offensive on Shingal.

“If there was a force deterring terrorists, they wouldn’t have been able to kill hundreds and abduct thousands of our [Yezidi] people,” he said.

“We are highly concerned about the fate of the remaining abductees. We are afraid that ISIS terrorists would execute them,” a Yezidi rights activist told ARA News, speaking on condition of anonymity.

“ISIS took advantage of the security vacuum around the Sinjar mountain, which enabled the barbaric group enter the region, killing, abducting and displacing thousands, including women and children,” he stressed.

In August 2014, ISIS extremists had taken control of Shingal, causing a mass displacement of nearly 400,000 people to Duhok and Erbil, in Iraqi Kurdistan. Tens of thousands of Yezidis remained trapped in Mount Sinjar, suffering mass killings, kidnappings and rape.

Subsequent to the liberation of the area at the hands of the Kurdish forces last November, thousands of Yezidi civilians returned home.

The return of the displaced Yezidi families followed intensive operations by the Peshmerga to dismantle land-mines and explosive devices left by ISIS militant fighters before their withdrawal from Shingal in November.

However, Yezidi civilians remain concerned about their safety, especially after witnessing several infiltration attempts by ISIS militants into Shingal over the past four months.

Also, after ISIS departure, the Kurdish forces have discovered several mass graves in Shingal. Most of the victims were women and children from the Yezidi minority. Specialized teams, that have been inspecting traces of the people disappeared during the group’s rule over the Yezidi-populated region, have so far discovered five mass graves belonging to Yezidi civilians, according to human rights activists and Peshmerga officials who spoke to ARA News.

Syrian protesters ransack al-Nusra HQ in Idlib
[ARA News] HOMS – Hundreds of people took to the street in the Syrian northwestern Idlib province on Monday, denouncing what they described “aggression of the Nusra Front (al-Qaeda branch in Syria) against civilians and moderate rebels”.

Local sources confirmed that angry protesters have broken into Nusra headquarters in the town of Maarat al-Numan in Idlib province and burned a few buildings.

Speaking to ARA News in Maarat al-Numan, rights activist Samer Idlibi said that the protest came two days after the Nusra insurgents stormed headquarters of the Division 13— which operates under the banner of the Syrian Free Army (FSA)—where clashes claimed lives of dozens of fighters on both sides.

ISIS executes 1 in Deir ez-Zor for treason
[ARA News] ERBIL – Extremists of the Islamic State (ISIS) executed and crucified a Syrian man in the eastern city of Deir ez-Zor after accusing him of supporting “a hostile party”, activists reported on Monday.

“The 22-year-old victim was arrested at a restaurant in central Deir ez-Zor for talking about the Kurdish advance towards Deir ez-Zor and saying ‘Kurds are coming’,” local media activist Ahmed Ramadan told ARA News.

This comes as the Kurdish YPG fighters and allied units of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continue their progress against the radical group in northeastern Syria.

“He was arrested by the ISIS-led Islamic Police and was referred to the Sharia Court which ordered the immediate execution and crucification of the young man,” Ramadan reported.

Pro-ISIS Sharia officials accused the young man of supporting the Kurdish forces that are considered “a hostile party” by the radical group.

“The man was executed and crucified in front of hundreds of people in the city center,” an eyewitness confirmed to ARA News, speaking on condition of anonymity.

In the meantime, Kurdish YPG fighters and allied SDF units, supported by a western air cover, continued their military operations against ISIS militants in the town of Markadah, which is located on the border of Deir ez-Zor province.

Syrian air force hit Palmyra with barrel bombs
[ARA News] HOMS – Syrian regime’s air force hit the ancient city of Palmyra in the country’s central province of Homs with a number of barrel bombs, local sources reported on Monday.

Dozens of civilian casualties were reported in the bombardment, which also caused a massive damage to the residential buildings in the historical city.

Speaking to ARA News in Palmyra, media activist Amer Musa said that the pro-regime helicopters dropped on Monday dozens of barrel bombs on the al-Joumiya al-Gharbiya neighborhood in western Palmyra city.

“Dozens of people were killed and injured in the strikes,” Musa reported.

The attack caused a huge fire in the al-Joumiya al-Gharbiya and destroyed most of the residential buildings across the neighborhood.

ARA News could not verify the exact number of casualties in the attack.

“Palmyra had been evacuated of most of its residents due to the mounting violence,” the source reported, pointing out that the majority of the city’s population fled towards rural areas, especially the Sukhna townــwhich shelters thousands of displaced people.

In the meantime, Syrian army forces, supported by Russian air cover, continued combatting ISIS insurgents in an attempt to regain ancient Palmyra from the group.

The historical city of Palmyra has been under the control of ISIS since May, when the group stormed headquarters of the Syrian army and seized the whole city subsequent to fierce clashes.
