KENYAN police said Wednesday they had arrested 10 suspected attackers, including two female suicide bombers, who had crossed into the country from war-torn Somalia.
"These 10 suspects were involved in recent terror attacks in Nairobi before they fled to Somalia, and now they have sneaked back," police spokeswoman Gatiria Mboroki told reporters. She did not reveal the nationalities of those arrested or provide any other details.
Kenya has been hit by a string of attacks in recent months blamed on Somalia’s Al-Qaeda-linked Shebab insurgents.

BAIDOA, Somalia -- Somali Federal Government forces raided Al Shabaab bases in Bay region of southwestern Somalia on Wednesday afternoon as officials reported of midnight retaliation by militants, Garowe Online reports.
Somali National Army commander Mohamed Mohamud Nur told the media that government troops attacked Al Shabaab hideouts in the outskirts of Goofgaduud Shabelle vicinity which lies 20km from Baidoa, killing two fighters.
"We killed two Al Shabaab militants in the army raid and one government soldier sustained bullet wounds," said Nur.
Meanwhile, heavy gun battle that lasted nearly an hour raged between Al Shabaab attackers and government forces at a security checkpoint in Maya Fulka area overnight on Wednesday. Security officials said that seven militants died in the attack.

[Ynet] Armed guards aboard Israel-bound ship repelled Somali pirates at entrance to Red Sea, before its passage through Suez Canal.
Armed Israeli security guards thwarted an attempt by Somali pirates to a hijack a ship that was sailing to Israel on Tuesday. The ship was sailing with a foreign flag but had Israeli security guards on board. The ship continued on its way to Israel and will arrive in a couple of days.
The ship was carrying trade to Israel and had embarked on its journey a few days earlier from southeastern Asia by way of the Suez Canal.
The incident occurred at the entrance of the red sea, at the Strait of Bab el Mandeb, a region swarming with pirates who seek to takeover ships and extort a hefty ransom.
Three armed pirate ships began to sail close to the walls of the ship with the Israeli guards on board.
When the pirates noticed the armed Israeli security guards onboard the ship they retreated and called for reinforcements.
Another pirate ship arrived and the pirates made a second attempt to sail close and board the ship, at which point the Israeli security guards threatened to use their weapons and the pirates retreated.
There were no reported uses of weapons by either side.
Israeli security companies have conquered the shipping security industry in the past couple of years. Hundreds of former IDF combat unit fighters secure foreign ships, both trade and commercial, from the threat of pirates.
A report of the incident was sent to the Israel Ministry of Transportation, which applauded the Israeli security guards on the ship.
Sources from the Ministry of Transportation said the Israeli security guards achieved their goal and prevented a takeover attempt of the ship.
Israeli security companies have conquered the shipping security industry in the past couple of years. Hundreds of former IDF combat unit fighters secure foreign ships, both trade and commercial, from the threat of pirates.
The companies mostly employ alumni of the IDF's most elite units such as Sayeret Matkal and Shayetet 13.
The threat of pirates has increased in the past couple years, especially pirates from Somalia.

I don't understand merely showing weapons instead of firing on them. They were obviously pirates, rather than fishermen. The tactic of showing weapons merely lets them get away to attack a less well defended vessel next time.
[Libya Herald] A fourth man has been beheaded in a savage execution by gunnies which, as with the Derna murder of three young social activists on Tuesday, was again filmed and posted on social media.
The latest victim was a soldier with Khalifa Hafter's Operation Dignity Forces. It is unclear when and how Ahmed Muftah el-Nazihi was taken prisoner, nor where he was executed.
The young man was filmed making a brief statement in which he warned that others would meet the same fate as him if they did not abandon the fight against Ansar al-Sharia ...a Salafist militia which claims it is not part of al-Qaeda, even though it works about the same and for the same ends. There are groups of the same name in Libyaand Yemen, with the Libyan versions currently most active. Tunisia's Shabaab al-Tawhid started out an Ansar al-Sharia and changed its name in early 2014. It still uses the old name now and then, probably because the stationery's not all used up and the web site hasn't expired yet... . His head was then cut off with a knife and laid on his body.
Nazihi's murder follows the beheading on three young Derna bloggers who had posted social-media comments on events in the town, which were critical of its warring Islamist militias. Siraj Ghatish, Mohammed Battu and Mohammed al-Mesmari were kidnapped at the beginning of this month.

[NY Times] Militants who set up checkpoints and scoured civilian cars for off-duty security personnel killed five soldiers and coppers in Egypt's restive Sinai Peninsula on Thursday, according to security officials.
The attacks came despite a large-scale military campaign in the area to root out jihadist groups after the massacre of 31 soldiers last month. The holy warriors' ability to set up their own roadblocks -- in what is essentially a military zone -- was a stark reminder of the government's faltering effort to contain an insurgency that has killed hundreds of soldiers and officers.
Separately, the Egyptian military said it was searching for eight seamen in the Mediterranean, a day after gunnies in several boats -- possibly smugglers -- fired on a naval vessel. The military blamed "terrorists" for the assault.

The video claims to show al-Baghdadi next to a black SUV car, suffering injuries due to the Arclight airstrike.
In the beginning, Baghdadi appears to be lying on the ground, groaning in pain while one of his aides is lying dead beside him. Baghdadi moves slightly before ISIS elements hurry to rescue him.
The injured, who Balad TV claims is al-Baghdadi, is dressed in a military uniform and is said to be wearing a watch on his right hand which appears similar to the one he wore during his sermon at djinn-infested Mosul ... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn... . IraqiNews.com has not independently verified these claims.
A front man for the Central Command of the US Army, Col. Patrick Raider, said two days ago that warplanes of the international coalition targeted ISIS leaders who were meeting near Mosul and that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi may have been among those who were targeted.

Someone duped the news hounds. This is an old video that has been around for quite some time. If you've seen the entire thing it show a bunch of booger eaters standing near an SUV. A round hits (likely a 82mm mortar) and one booger eater takes frag in brain pan. The booger eater next him (mis ID'd as ABAB in this report) falls down wounded. Not ABAB - old video.
Me thinks the the weapons that hit ABAB's (shit be upon him) convoy were ..um slightly bigger than 82mm.

Officers searched the suspect and found a large knife and a screwdriver in his bag. Upon interrogation, the suspect admitted that he had meant to hitchhike to the capital, where he would stab a bus driver. He was transferred to Shin Bet custody.
[Ynet] Activists say at least nine people were killed, including three children, in a Syrian government Arclight airstrike that targeted a rebel-held town near the capital Damascus.
The Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said there were likely more dead in Friday's Arclight airstrike, because people were buried under the rubble in the town of Saqba.
Local activists on a Saqba Facebook group said the strike hit a residential building and published a series of videos showing the strike's aftermath. The videos appeared genuine and corresponded to The News Agency that Dare Not be Named reporting of the event.
