Economy
Outlook For U.S. Economic Growth For 2018 Looks Solid
[Seeking Alpha] Even before the tax cuts signed into law by President Trump were enacted, economists were optimistic that U.S. economic growth will remain strong in 2018.

Not only will oil production and some tech leaders continue to perform strong, but other sectors like housing starts and sales, agricultural products, machinery and construction equipment should all add to growth in the U.S. economy.

A survey by Wolters Kluwer concluded industrial production should increase from 1.8 percent in 2017 to 2.5 percent in 2018.

Oil production in the U.S. will increase, even as the price of oil continues to find ongoing support; although it's not going to be quite as strong as some in the market think it'll be in my view, but strong enough to allow producers to generate solid earnings. The eventual exit from the oil production cuts remains a concern if it happens in 2018.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
In late-night vote, Knesset passes law to hinder East Jerusalem withdrawal
[Times of Israel] The law, which was proposed by Jewish Home MK Shuli Moalem-Refaeli and had the coalition’s backing, is designed to make it much harder to divide the city, which Israel claims as its undivided capital. The Palestinians claim East Jerusalem as the capital of a future state.

The legislation, an amendment to the Basic Law on Jerusalem, requires 80 of the 120 MKs to support relinquishing any part of the city.

Before, the Jerusalem Law, passed in 1980 and amended in 2000, stated: "No authority that is stipulated in the law of the State of Israel or of the Jerusalem Municipality may be transferred either permanently or for an allotted period of time to a foreign body, whether political, governmental or to any other similar type of foreign body."

With no provision in the Basic Law specifying how it can be amended, it was possible to overturn it with a simple majority.

The bill was originally proposed in the summer but did not make it through the procedural before the fall recess.

The F-35 and F-22 Teach Each Other New Tricks
[USAF Magazine] At the outset of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program, there were high expectations that it would benefit from lessons learned from its elder stablemate, the F-22 Raptor, also made by Lockheed Martin.

Now, a dozen years after the F-22’s operational debut and two years after the F-35 was declared ready for combat, the flow of lessons learned is running both ways. The two fifth generation fighter programs are working together to reduce costs and make both systems more effective.

The F-22 has been a pathfinder for the F-35: Its formations and methods of employment are a model for the junior fighter. In return, the small F-22 fleet is gaining economy-of-scale benefits by getting in on parts buys with the far larger‐and growing‐F-35 fleet. More advanced and hardier stealth features on the F-35 are working their way back to the F-22, the two aircraft share radar features, and operational and manufacturing experience with the F-35 are helping define upgrades for the Raptor.

"The F-35 and F-22 were always meant to operate alongside one another, so it makes a lot of sense to apply that same logic to the programmatic side of both platforms," said Lockheed Martin F-35 program manager Jeff A. Babione. "We’re constantly taking advantage of newer, more advanced technologies and processes. If we can apply the same advances to the F-35 and F-22, we drive costs down and pull schedules to the left on both programs."

The F-22 pioneered fifth generation tactics and those are being applied straight to the F-35, according to Col. Paul "Max" Moga, commander of the 33rd Fighter Wing at Eglin AFB, Fla. The 33rd trains new F-35 pilots, but Moga spent years in the F-22, as an instructor and demonstration pilot and later as a squadron commander, after starting out in F-15s.

Regarding employment techniques on the F-22 and F-35, "I would describe them as a direct transfer," Moga said. In the F-22, the key to employment is "managing signature, sensor, and what we refer to as ’flow,’ " which he explained is how the plane and pilot sense the battlespace, steer between threats, and get into the optimum position to engage. That same concept applies to the F-35, he said.

Though fourth generation aircraft pilots have to manage visual and infrared signatures, "it’s not until you get in the fifth gen world that you really concern yourselves with radar signature management. ... That is a core competency of any fifth gen platform, and that is a direct transfer over from the F-22 to the F-35." Pilots of both jets must "manage our signature as we employ the aircraft and optimize our survivability and lethality," Moga said.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran Charges Russia With Selling Out its Air Defense Secrets to Israel
h/t Instapundit
[PopularMechanics] An Iranian government official claimed earlier this week that its Russian-made air defenses were compromised by Moscow, leaving Iran and its allies defenseless against Israeli airstrikes. An engineer with Tehran's Ministry of Defense alleged that codes forcing anti-aircraft missiles to treat hostile Israeli fighters as friendly were sold to Tel Aviv, effectively neutralizing Syria and Iran's S-300 surface-to-air missile systems.

An Iranian official, described by the Jerusalem Post as a senior member of Iran's Defense Ministry, told the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida that Russia had sold "codes" to Israel that identified Israeli aircraft as friendly. The codes were used by Israel to prevent its aircraft from being targeted. Israel has flown dozens of air raids over Syria, and despite advanced air defenses, only the latest raid, flown last Friday, involved an actual missile launch.

The article doesn't say what the Iranians mean by "codes", but Tehran apparently means the Identify Friend or Foe codes that aircraft transmit to avoid being shot down by their own air defenses. The S-300 missile, an older surface-to-air missile similar to the American Patriot, was identified as the affected system. The S-300s not only would refuse to engage the Israeli planes, the report says, but also they wouldn't give notice that the planes had taken off from nearby Israel, giving Syrian troops time to prepare.

According to Al-Jarida, "Iranians and the Syrians suspected that Russia gave the codes for the air defense system to Israel and even refused the requests of Tehran and Damascus to check the codes." As the story goes, Iran managed to change the codes on its own supplied S-300 missile systems, then sent engineers to Syria to change the codes on unspecified Syrian air defense systems. The fact that the Syrian missiles finally launched after the codes were changed confirmed to the Iranians that Russia had thrown them under the bus.

Could there be any truth to the claims? It is unlikely that Russia would intentionally give IFF codes to the enemies of its allies, the Syrians and Iranians, and allow them to be bombed with impunity. Not only would that anger the Syrian government, it would also potentially endanger Russian troops operating in Syria. The simpler explanation is that Israeli radar jamming is very good and outmatches the older S-300 technology.

We'll soon find out whether there is anything to the Iranian allegations. If Israeli airstrikes into Syria stop, then there may be something to the claims. If there are more Israeli strikes in Syria and there are surface-to-air missile launches, it may be that the earlier missile launch was a one-off and that there was no transfer of codes.

Newt Gingrich: ‘The stage is being set' for GOP landslide in 2018
[Wash Times] Newt Gingrich said Thursday that Democrats are headed for a major political upset in 2018, mostly due to the mainstream media’s dishonesty and the party’s inability to learn from its own mistakes.

"The great political surprise of 2018 will be the size of the Republican victory," the former Republican House Speaker wrote in a column for Fox News. "After members of the elite media have spent two years savaging President Trump, lying about Republican legislation, and reassuring themselves that Republican defeat was inevitable, the size of the GOP victory in 2018 will be an enormous shock."

Mr. Gingrich said the most glaring example of "fake news" is the media’s handling of the GOP’s Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which he said will be "the 2018 proving ground of media liberal bias and dishonesty."

"First, the media lied about the tax bill in an effort to convince most Americans their taxes would go up," he wrote. "Then, the media took surveys of people who opposed the GOP bill based on the false information supplied by the media. Then, the media talked again and again about how unpopular the Republican plan was and how it was going to weaken Republican candidates in 2018. Then, the bill passed, and unsurprisingly, it turned out to be dramatically better for Americans than the elite media had described."

#2  Suppose the GOP does get a landslide? I'm not sure how I feel about that. They were given the House, then the Senate, and then the the presidency and they still were squishy about getting anything done. Their support of Trump has been tepid at best. They always seem to be good at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. They are better than the Dems who I think are completely venal and corruption-ridden. The Dems ought to be prosecuted under Rico Laws. They have tried to steal a country and turn it into a crime-syndicate.

Assuming the landslide happens, of course. But if it’s the Democrats who dominate, they will be much harder left than those they replace, and much less likely to horsetrade, etc. The leadership will be tearing out their hair on both sides of the aisle in 2019.

Comey Slammed For Tweet About 'Ethical Leadership'
[Townhall] Former Federal Bureau of Investigations Director James Comey provoked many Twitter users Sunday for wishing for "more ethical leadership" in the new year.

"Here’s hoping 2018 brings more ethical leadership, focused on the truth and lasting values," Comey wrote in what’s widely being interpreted as a shot at President Trump, who fired the director in May.

Comey’s tweet comes after the FBI is under intense scrutiny for how it conducted the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server, as well as the neutrality of top agency officials.

The TSA's lax performance amounts to security theater
[The Hill] The Transportation Security Administration (TSA), charged with ensuring the safety of travelers at airports and certain other commercial transport facilities, is failing in many ways. While it may appear the agency is doing its job, evidence to the contrary abounds.

In a 2016 survey by the Department of Homeland Security Inspector General (IG), the TSA missed 95 percent of the weapons and assorted contraband carried into commercial aircraft cabins by undercover investigators. A notable example this year suggested the TSA still has serious shortcomings despite the red flag: JetBlue TSA checkpoints at New York's Kennedy Airport were left unattended by agency employees, creating a frantic law enforcement search for people who had boarded and flown without being screened.

Adding insult to injury, the TSA announced that it will be gradually increasing its highly intrusive personal frisks of passengers, primarily because the agency keeps missing prohibited items brought by travelers on their person or in carry-on luggage.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Gretchen Carlson no long unemployed
[The Hill] Former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson will chair the Miss America Organization board of directors after the organization's previous CEO resigned, The Huffington Post reported Monday.

Carlson, who won the competition in 1989, will be the first former Miss America to lead the organization in its nearly 100 year history, HuffPost reported.

"In the end, we all want a strong, relevant Miss America and we appreciate the existing board taking the steps necessary to quickly begin stabilizing the organization for the future," Carlson said in a statement to the news outlet.

Former Miss America CEO Sam Haskell resigned as chair in late December after Huffington Post published emails between him and other organization officials that referred to contestants in derogatory and crude terms.

After the emails were made public, Carlson joined two other former Miss Americas in calling for Haskell to resign. The organization's chairman Lynn Weidner also resigned amid the scandal.

Carlson worked at Fox News until July 2016, when she sued former Fox News chairman and CEO Roger Ailes over alleged sexual harassment. Fox ultimately settled the lawsuit with Carlson and issued a public apology to her.

Pakistan Fires Back at Trump Tweet: U.S. Given ‘Nothing but Invective and Mistrust'
[Breitbart] Pakistani officials insisted they will do no more to help the United States in the war on terrorism on Monday and summoned Washington’s ambassador in response to President Donald Trump’s criticism that the nation had given America "nothing but lies & deceit" in exchange for billions in aid.
Trump accused Pakistan of pocketing aid money meant to help fight the Taliban and other jihadist groups. Pakistan has long faced criticism from both the West and neighbors like Afghanistan and India for allegedly providing "safe havens" for terrorist groups to operate in. Pakistan instead insists that Afghanistan has not done enough to contain the Taliban, and has claimed that India is a state sponsor of terrorism, allegedly harboring violent Hindu extremist groups.

"We have already said ’no more’ to America, so Trump’s ’no more’ has no importance. We are ready to give all account for every single penny to America in public," Pakistani Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif said in a statement in response to Trump on Monday. "The United States should hold its own people accountable for its failures in Afghanistan."

Asif also said that Pakistan is not concerned with the potential of losing billions in American taxpayers’ dollars.

#4  Withdraw from Afghanistan completely. Forget about trying to set up a democracy there, as long as it's mostly muslims, true democracy will never happen. Just heavily spray roundup on all the fields where poppies are grown and bomb the shit out of the Taliban every times they try to come back, until they're reduced to the point the Afghani army can handle them on their own. If the people cannot or will not have the desire to deal with their own interior issues, why should we?

We've spend so much money there, a lot of, if not most of, which got siphoned off to pockets everywhere except where it's supposed to go. (Last I've heard we've spend over one hundred billon dollars on Afghanistan, why? What did we get for a hundred billion dollars, we sure could use that money here at home.)

I get the feeling we didn't win anything but they did in the long run.

Time we start using that money to pay down the federal deficit and start working toward a zero balanced budget.

All those countries who voted against us can just start paying for their own defenses.

We have plenty of problems and issues of our own here at home that need to be addressed and dealt with using the money we're currently pissing away on other countries issues and wars, to no benefits whatsoever to us (excepts for a few companies for their profits.)

Sure we can lend a helping hand, but with the understanding they make a go of it on their own.

American first, we will help, but there are limits!

Zimbabwe: Grace's Kid Dumps Pregnant South African Lover
[All Africa] His mother attracted global infamy when she used the convenience of diplomatic immunity to evade the law after allegedly using an electric cable to beat up a South African model she found in a hotel with her younger playboy sons.

Now it has emerged that former first lady Grace Mugabe's son by first husband Stanley Goreraza has also been perpetrating his own notoriety across the Limpopo, allegedly knocking up a local student and then doing a runner.

Pregnant South African student Dineo Gwendoline, 22, this week told NewZim-bob-we.com that she has been abandoned by Russell Goreraza.

Dineo is distraught because Russell does not want to hear from her and has apparently boasts that he is untouchable because he "doesn't live in South Africa, isn't a citizen and might never actually return."

The whereabouts of the older of Grace Mugabe's truant brood remains unclear after the family scattered in the wake of last month's military coup which toppled her 93-year-old husband, ending a 37-year stranglehold on power.

Former President Bob Muggsy Mugabe
Nonagenarian President-for-Life of Zim-bob-we who turned the former Breadbasket of Africa into the African Basket Case. and wife were confined to their monstrous 'Blue Roof' Harare mansion during after the coup, subsequently leaving the country for favourite bolthole of Singapore where they were reportedly joined by their children.

Sharing her ordeal with NewZim-bob-we.com, Gwendoline said she has tried without success to get Goreraza to assist her.

"I'm pregnant with Russell Goreraza's child. He knew from the very first time I found out. He has changed towards me now," she said Gwendoline.

"I asked for his help and he keeps giving me excuses till this day. He has told me that if I decide to keep the baby he'll run off since his not a South African (SA) citizen; it isn't going to affect him at all."

The two allegedly hit it off in December 2016 and allegedly never bothered with protection whenever they indulged. Goreraza, 33, is a divorcee with a son.

"Ever since we've being seeing each other since late 2016 we've not used a condom, ever! Why then now does he get me pregnant and think it's all on me.

"Instead of owning up to his responsibilities he is busy parading the world, sleeping, partying and paying different hookers."

With abortion being legal in SA, Gwendoline claims she had initially opted for that route provided Goreraza covers the cost. She later decided to keep the baby after the funds did not come through.

"I then ended up making a decision to keep the baby and he said he'd support me with whatever decision I come up with," she said.

Prosecution investigating killing of two brothers in New Year's Eve attack on liquor store in Giza
[AlAhram] Egyptian prosecutors have opened an investigation into the Monday morning deadly attack on a liquor store in Giza's Omraneya neighborhood, which left two killed murdered.

According to initial police investigations, a masked gunman driving a Tuk Tuk opened fire on the liquor store killing the brothers Ashraf Boules Azer and Adel Boules Azer, before fleeing the scence.

It is not yet clear whether the brothers owned or worked at the store.

The motive for the attack, which took place on New Year's eve, the busiest night of the year for liquor stores, also remains unclear.

Ashraf died at the scene, while Adel died of his injuries at Om al-Masryeen Hosptial in Giza.

Police detectives have been interviewing witnesses, examining surveillance cameras on nearby buildings and along the escape route in an effort to identify the suspects and establish the facts of the incident.

Liquor stores in Egypt are typically owned by Christians. The stores and their owners have been the target of various attacks in the past.
The Times of Israel adds:
A gunman killed two Copts celebrating the New Year in an Egyptian alcohol shop early on Monday, judicial and security sources said, the latest deadly violence against the Christian minority.

An assailant rode up in the back of a cycle of violence taxi and opened fire on the liquor store in Cairo’s twin city Giza at around 1:30 a.m., when the streets were still bustling with New Year revelers, the sources said.

The store’s Coptic owner survived but two of his friends who were celebrating with him were killed.

Liquor stores, most of which are run by Copts, have come under attack in the past by hard-line Moslems who believe they should be banned. On January 2 last year, a Moslem slit the throat of a Coptic liquor store owner in the Mediterranean coastal city of Alexandria. The assailant was sentenced to death after telling the court that he would kill all alcohol sellers if he could.

Al Shabaab Spy Agent Detained In Kenya Recruiting Youths
[RADIOSHABELLE] An Al-Shabaab
... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...
suspect linked to the recruitment and radicalization of youths in Mombasa has been tossed in the calaboose
Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out!
Abdulrazak Haji was arrested in Nyali on Wednesday and arraigned in a Nairobi court the following day.

He was picked from a Java restaurant by anti-terror police unit officers and later escorted to the division’s headquarters in Nairobi.

Police then took Haji to his house in Kileleshwa, where they recovered a mini pistol and a firearm license. Police said they were yet to confirm the authenticity of the license.

State counsel Duncan Ondimu asked Nairobi senior principal magistrate Martha Mutuku to allow police to remand Haji for five days as investigations continue.

Mutuku allowed police to detain the suspect for five working days.

In an affidavit produced in court, police claimed Haji was being used by al-Shabaab to spy on Kenyan security agencies.

Haji was also spying on several shopping malls within Mombasa town and the Nyali areas in preparation for terrorist attacks during New Year festivities.
Police said they believe Haji was an al-Shabaab agent recruiting and radicalizing youths for the terror group.

US seeks to replace independent governments with puppet ones: Analyst
[PRESSTV] An analyst believes the United States has always been at war with sovereign independent nations in an attempt to replace them with pro-Western puppet regimes, adding that Washington’s agenda is "belligerence against other countries".

The analyst’s comments came after North Korean leader Kim Pudge Jong-un
...the overweight, pouty-looking hereditary potentate of North Korea. Pudge appears to believe in his own divinity, but has yet to produce any loaves and fishes, so his subjects remain malnourished...
issued a stern warning to the US, saying that the "nuclear launch button" is on his desk if the country’s security is threatened.

"Throughout its entire history, North Korea has never attacked another country, it does not threaten any now, but it is threatened by America - the possibility that America wages another war against the country ... America is a great threat which is the reason North Korea has and continues to develop its nuclear and ballistic missile capabilities. It does not want to use them, it wants to have them as deterrents to keep America from attacking the country. That is the only reason it has these programs," Stephan Lendman, writer and radio host told PressTV in an interview on Monday.

MUIS condemns video of Singaporean Islamic State fighter executing man
[CHANNELNEWSASIA] The Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS) on Monday (Jan 1) condemned the latest propaganda video by the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS) featuring Singaporean holy warrior Megat Shahdan Abdul Samad.

According to local reports, Shahdan was seen in the eight-minute video with two other fighters in military fatigues, executing three men by shooting them.

The clip also shows bombings and vehicle attacks. Before the executions, Shahdan is seen speaking in English, telling IS followers to "slay the enemies of Allah wherever you can find them".

In response to the latest video, MUIS said it was a "desperate attempt" by IS to recruit individuals to "cause carnage" and "sow discord between Moslems and non-Moslems".

The Singaporean fighter, who calls himself Abu 'Uqayl, also appeared in an IS video in September. In the 3min 30s clip, he was seen loading artillery shells onto a military truck and calling for people to join IS.

MUIS had also condemned the earlier video and stressed that it has maintained its position "unequivocally".

The IS' message "blatantly disregards the sanctity of human life that Islam strives to preserve and protect", said MUIS on Monday.

In addition, MUIS strongly urged Moslems not to share such materials if they come across them.

"Such videos prey on the minds of the weak, or those who do not have proper religious guidance. We must continue to stand together and stop the spread of ISIS’ dangerous propaganda," MUIS said.

The religious body added that Moslems in doubt on the validity of religious claims made in such videos should consult a credible teacher.

MUIS also urged Moslems around the world to "continue to rally with all other communities for peaceful societies" against the IS' poisonous ideology of hatred and violence, and keep with the Islamic teachings of bringing blessings to all.

5 members of Hamas terror cell arrested in West Bank
[Ynet] Hamas terrorist Abdullah Arar, involved in 2005 kidnapping and murder of Sasson Nuriel, operated West Bank terror cell; members of cell arrested, Shin Bet warns, 'Hamas in Gazoo will be held responsible for any attack carried out at its behest.'

A joint operation by Shin Bet, the IDF and the police led to the placed in durance vile
... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not...
of five members of a Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", terror cell who planned to carry out attacks under the direction of a Hamas operative from the Gazoo Strip.

In its investigation, the Shin Bet learned the group's handler was Abdullah Arar, a Hamas operative who was involved in the kidnapping and murder of Israeli Sasson Nuriel 12 years ago. Arar was deported to Gazoo following the Gilad Shalit prisoner swap deal and has since returned to terrorist activity.

Arar allegedly instructed Alaa Salim, a resident of Jaba'
... a town north of Jerusalem...
in the Binyamin region of the West Bank, to form the cell and purchase an M16 rifle for the purpose of carrying out an attack. Arar also wired Salim funds to that end.

Salim later contacted Rian Touam, also a Jaba' resident, and asked him to assist him in procuring the M16, providing him with thousands of shekels to do so.

Salim also contacted Shehadeh Touam and asked for his help in recruiting more members. Touam, in turn, contacted Mahmoud Abu Arkov, a young Hamas operative from A-Ram, and recruited him to the cell.
The fifth member clearly has no name, as he is not mentioned.
The investigation was carried out in coordination with military prosecution, which examined the investigation's materials before deciding to indict the suspects.

A Shin Bet official said, "The Hamas command in the Gazoo Strip has been increasingly motivated of late to promote attacks via Hamas members in Judea and Samaria. Security forces will continue to take determined action to foil Hamas's efforts to carry out attacks in Israel and wish to make it clear that Hamas in Gazoo will be held responsible for any attack carried out at its behest."

Dozens arrested overnight in West Bank raids
[IsraelTimes] Twelve accused of throwing Molotov cocktails and stones at security forces, another 14 suspected of involvement in terror activities.

Security forces tossed in the slammer
Book 'im, Mahmoud!
26 Paleostinians in raids across the West Bank late Sunday and early Monday.

The 26 were held on suspicion of participating in violent riots in recent weeks or involvement in terror-related activities, the IDF said in a statement.

Twelve alleged rioters were suspected of throwing Molotov cocktails and stones at IDF soldiers during violent demonstrations that flared up after US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, angering Paleostinians.

Another 14 Paleostinians were arrested on suspicion of involvement in unspecified terror-related activities targeting security forces and Israeli civilians. The suspects were all taken away for questioning.

An IDF soldier was lightly injured Sunday when he was struck by a rock during festivities that broke out during an arrest raid in the southern West Bank, the army said.

The soldier required medical treatment for his injuries.

Israeli forces carry out nightly raids in the West Bank to arrest suspects alleged to be involved in rock throwing, rioting and what it terms as terror activity.

Recent weeks have seen an uptick in violence following the December 6 announcement by Trump that he would recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

‘Abducted’ woman tells reporters she embraced Islam
[DAWN] Nagarparkar police were on Sunday looking into the veracity of a telephonic conversation between some local news hounds and a Hindu woman whose husband had lodged an FIR of her alleged kidnapping at the Nagarparkar cop shoppe a couple of days back.

The woman, Kaisri Kolhi, using her personal mobile phone, told the news hounds that she embraced Islam at the hands of Pir Mohammad Ayub Jan Sarhandi at his Gulzar-e-Khalil seminary [situated in Samaro town of Umerkot district] and adopted "Kulsoom" as her Islamic name on Dec 30. She said she had now contracted a freewill marriage. The Nikahnama was also sent to the news hounds through Whatsapp.

Kaisri’s husband, Roji Kolhi, had lodged the FIR (62 /2017) on Friday stating that his 19-year-old wife, Kaisri Kolhi, was kidnapped from their house in Kothara village near Nagarparkar.

Kulsoom named her [new] husband as Mohammad Ali Khoso, who along with a close relative of his, Ali Nawaz Khoso, was nominated as her kidnapper. Mohammad Ali Khoso also spoke to the news hounds over his personal mobile phone and demanded protection for Kulsoom from her family and relatives.

The woman said she had been in love with Mohammad Ali Khoso and made her best efforts to convince her family on the proposal but in vain. She said her parents forcibly married her off to Roji on Dec 4 but she left the house to contract a freewill marriage.

Tharparkar SSP Ameer Saud Magsi told this news hound that the FIR would be quashed only when the couple satisfied a court of law with the relevant documents and recorded their statements.

Parking garage fire destroys roughly 1,400 cars in UK
[ARABNEWS] An estimated 1,400 cars were destroyed in a huge fire that raged through a multi-story parking garage in the northern English city of Liverpool.

The fire next to Liverpool’s Echo Arena also threatened horses that were stabled in the garage for performances at the Liverpool International Horse Show. The horses were moved to safety inside the arena. The popular horse show was canceled because of the fire, which was brought under control early Monday morning. The charred remains of ruined vehicles were visible in the seven stories of the parking garage.

There were no reported injuries in the blaze. Officials set up an emergency shelter to help the many people who could not get home because their cars had been burned.

Fire officials said two dogs were rescued from vehicles parked in the structure. They are believed to have been the only animals inside cars at the time.

The Echo Arena said all people and horses were safe. Witnesses said cars seemed to explode every couple of seconds when the fire was at its peak. They said the fire appeared to start in the engine of an older Land Rover and quickly spread. Police said initial reports indicate that an "accidental fire within a vehicle caused other cars to ignite." The blaze started Sunday afternoon.

Witness Sue Wright, who helped move some of the horses, said flames were shooting out of the Land Rover engine.
This story seems a bit odd. Why on earth would a parked car suddenly have flames shooting out of the engine?

Recent riots result of foreign proxy war against Iran: Shamkhani
[PRESSTV] Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani has said certain countries are waging a "proxy war" against the Islamic Theocratic Republic via social media and the internet.

On Monday, Shamkhani noted that United States, Britannia and Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
are behind the recent riots in Iran, stressing that the hashtags and social media campaigns cornering the situation in Iran are all in fact being guided by these countries.

"Based on our analyses, around 27 percent of the new hashtags against Iran are generated by the Saudi government," he added.

Shamkhani added that this foreign-backed intervention is aimed at hampering Iran’s progress in different spheres.

"What is happening in Iran will be over in a few days, and there is no reason to worry at all," he noted.

Since Thursday, groups of Iranian protesters have staged demonstrations in several cities to voice their anger over rising prices and economic conditions. Sporadic violence has erupted during the protests, causing a number of casualties.

Al-Qaeda figurehead Hamza bin Laden mourns death of oldest son Osama
As it is said, one would have to have a heart of stone not to laugh.
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Various social media users shared late Sunday a letter written by al-Qaeda figurehead Hamza bin Laden mourning the death of his eldest son, named Osama after his notorious terrorist grandfather.

The letter was addressed to Hamza's mother, Khairiah Sabar, and his sisters.

It read: "To my dear mother, may God protect and care for her, and to my dear brothers, may God protect and care for them and to my dear sisters, with hearts content and surrendered with the will of God, we pay our condolences on the martyrdom of our courageous hero, the martyr’s [the late Osama bin Laden
... who is now sometimes referred to as Mister Bones...
] grandchild... our son, Osama."

How the 12-year-old Osama was killed was not mentioned. According to those who leaked the letter, some parts may have been omitted which may have been details on the cause of death and where he was staying.

According to observers familiar with the matter, the cause of death was most likely due to an illness he caught and not receiving proper medical attention. The nature of circumstances to which al-Qaeda children are exposed to is another factor, they added.

In his letter, Hamza also referred to the death of his siblings, including Saad bin Laden who was "killed in a dronezap upon leaving Iran," and his sister Khadeejah died while giving birth.

As a child, Hamza was separated from his father after 9/11. The first letter Hamza was able to deliver to him was in 2009 after he had become a young man.

Somali Military Court Charges Oct 14 Blast Suspects
[RADIOSHABELLE] Five men face charges in connection with the October 14 truck bombing at Zoobe junction in Mogadishu that killed more than 512 people.

The suspects appeared before Somali Military court on Monday, but their sentences have been postponed to next Thursday, according to the chief of the 1st-degree tribunal.

No group has so far grabbed credit for the attack which was the deadliest single day atrocity in Somalia’s history as it claimed the lives of hundreds of civilians.

The Somali Federal government, however, has blamed the krazed killer group for the bombing. Mogadishu has been hit by fatal attacks during 2017, some claimed by Al-Shabaab

Nangarhar is among the relatively calm provinces in East of Afghanistan but the anti-government armed bad boy groups including the ISIS hard boyz are attempting to expand their insurgency in this province lately.

This comes as an kaboom took place on Sunday in Behsud located on the outskirts of Jalalabad city, the historic provincial capital of Nangarhar.

Provincial governor’s front man Ataullah Khogyani said the explosives were planted inside a Rickshaw vehicle and exploded as a burial ceremony was underway in a cemetery.

Police recover two girls 'kidnapped' from Darul Aman in Rajanpur
[DAWN] Police on Monday claimed to have recovered the two girls who were reportedly kidnapped a few days ago from a Darul Aman (a government-run shelter home) in Punjab's Rajanpur district.

Rajanpur City cop shoppe SHO Fiazul Haq Chaudhary told Dawn that police have recovered both the girls from the residences of their relatives living in Sindh. He said one girl was recovered from Kashmore district, Sindh, who told police that she had left the Darul Aman on her own will.

The other girl was recovered from Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
and was being brought to Rajanpur, he added.

"If she also says that she left the Darul Aman on her own will then both the girls would be free to go."

Last week, Saba Zahra, the head of the Darul Aman, told police that unidentified kidnappers reportedly scaled the rear wall of the building and took away the two girls.

According to her statement to police, a security guard and a peon had been deployed at the premises, however, both were sleeping at the time of the alleged abduction.

Police had started the paperwork but haven't done much else and launched a probe into the matter. Subsequently, Rajanpur Deputy Commissioner Ashfaq Ahmed took notice of the security breach at the Darul Aman and constituted an inquiry committee to fix responsibility of the matter.

One of the two girls, hailing from Muzaffargarh, was admitted to the Darul Aman a week ago on December 20, whereas the second, hailing from Kot Mithan, on December 23.

Bangladesh
Suspected militant held near Rohingya camps in Bangladesh
[DAWN] Bangladesh police on Sunday placed in durance vile
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
a suspected bully boy from the border district of Ukhia, near camps where thousands of Rohingya Moslems fleeing a military crackdown in Myanmar have taken shelter.

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), an elite police tasked with tackling extremism in the country, said it detained 30-year-old Sharful Awal for allegedly communicating with international Jihadist groups.

Awal was freed on bail in January after he was charged with anti-terrorism and explosives-related offences in the Chittagong region, RAB local chief Ruhul Amin said in a statement.

But after his release, Awal "communicated with various international bully boy groups through social media in an effort to establish Khilafat (a caliphate) through so-called Jihad," Amin said.

Police allege Awal is a member of a new faction of the Jamayetul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), a homegrown group, and was involved in organising local bully boys.

The new JMB faction has been blamed for a wave of attacks on foreigners and religious minorities, including the deadly attack on a posh Dhaka cafe last year in which 18 foreigners were shot and hacked to death.

But the RAB’s Amin said authorities have not found any connections so far between Awal and Rohingya refugees.

Chris Matthews Runs An Abusive Work Environment
[DAILYCALLER] MSNBC Host Chris My Thigh is Tingling! Matthews
... the late Tip O'Neill's former gopher who has magazines with centerfolds of Barack Obama in his bathroom...
runs an at times openly derisive and brazenly sexist news operation that has led at least some staffers to describe themselves as victims of "battered wives syndrome," according to three of his show’s guests and two former producers who spoke exclusively to The Daily Caller.

Two former NBC producers independently alleged Matthews would rate the looks of his female guests on a scale and said Matthews was so abusive that staff joked about being battered women. The interviews in total paint Matthews as a tyrant liable to fly off the handle at the slightest mistake, who was eager to objectify women and made inappropriate sexual comments appear to be a matter of course for someone in his position.

Both former NBC producers requested anonymity out of concern for their future careers. One is actively seeking a job in media and the other still works closely with MSNBC. One expressed fears about being labeled a "troublemaker" and cited the string of former Fox News women who have all but disappeared from television.

California launches legal sale of cannabis for recreational use
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, will launch the world´s largest regulated commercial market for recreational marijuana on Monday, as dozens of newly licensed stores catering to adults who enjoy the drug for its psychoactive effects open for business up and down the state. It becomes the sixth U.S. state, and by far the most populous, venturing beyond legalized medical marijuana to permit the sale of cannabis products of all types to customers at least 21 years old. Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Alaska and Nevada were the first to introduce recreational pot sales on a state-regulated, licensed and taxed basis.

#7  Uh, weed doesn't do that. It just gets you stoned.

Cannabis has been documented to trigger paranoid schizophrenia in the genetically susceptible, Harcourt Angoluting9366. The fact that only a small percent of the population is genetically susceptible just means we’re going to see more spree killings over the next few years — though most will be mysterious murders of entire families and neighbours... or that thing that happened in Las Vegas.

We’ve known about the impact on a few for generations — but perhaps you are too young to remember the television show “Taxi” back in the 1970s-‘80s— at one point it was revealed that the character of Jim Ignatowski while studying at Harvard had eaten a single pot brownie, which caused the permanent mental damage that made his every utterance a standing joke for the duration of the show.

People with good genes and solid backgrounds will be resilient and connected enough that getting stoned on the weekend will do them no harm. Those with genetic susceptibilities and the poor will do it when it will trigger problems and impair their ability to work, destroying them.

#8  I'm not sure that there will be an increased number of visits to the ER. The new laws on pot may pull in the age when people start smoking pot to be a bit lower, but over time, it seems to me that those who will try pot will try it, thereby just bunching some of the future cases to be closer to the present. I don't, however, like the idea of smoking pot before the brain finishes "pruning" and maturing in the mid-20s or so.

Iraqi paramilitary group denies plan to support Iran in suppressing protests
Baghdad (Iraqinews.com) ‐ An Iraqi paramilitary group has denied media reports about a plan by the Popular Mobilization Forces to help Iranian authorities suppress ongoing anti-government protests.

Speaking to Baghdad Today on Monday, Mahmoud al-Rabei, a member at the political bureau of Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq (League of Righteous People) group, said his group does not intend to support the Iranian government in its bids to suppress such protests, stressing that, "It is an issue of the Iranian people and they only have the right to self-determination."

Commending on why Popular Mobilization Forces intervened in Syria and rejected to do the same in Iran, Rabei said, "The PMF’s involvement in the Syrian crisis aimed mainly at protecting holy sites in Syria, not supporting the Syrian regime."

"The Iranian government, on the contrary, is capable of maintaining the situation in the country," he stressed.

The Iranian state TV has reported that 10 people have been killed amid nationwide protests, without elaborating, according to Fox News on Monday.

Air strikes in east Syria kill 12 civilians
[ARABNEWS] Air strikes on one of the last villages still held by the ISIS group in eastern Syria killed 12 civilians, including four children, a monitor said Monday.

The strikes were carried out late Sunday on the village of Susa in Deir Ezzor province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

"Twelve civilians from the same family, including four children, were killed," Observatory head Rami Abdel Rahman told AFP.

The Britannia-based monitoring organization, which has a broad network of sources on the ground, said the strikes were likely conducted by the US-led coalition that launched air raids against ISIS in Syria and Iraq in 2014.

There was no immediate comment from the coalition.

The ISIS group has lost nearly all the territory it once held in Iraq and Syria and is clinging to a scattering of small villages and pockets of land in the border area.

The coalition admitted on Thursday to "unintentionally" killing at least 817 civilians since it started its aerial campaign against ISIS.

Iran Intelligence Ministry nabs several agents behind riots
[PRESSTV] Iran's Intelligence Ministry says it has identified and enjugged
Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit!
some of the agents behind riots, which followed the recent protests against economic conditions in a number of Iranian cities in recent days.

In a statement on Monday, the ministry said Iranian security forces helped by people had managed to detain some of the elements who incited unrest in several cities across the country.

It added that efforts were ongoing to arrest other agents as soon as possible.

According to the ministry's statement, some of the peaceful gatherings held in recent days in order to express public demands had turned violent "due to the presence of suspicious and aggressive elements" who damaged public property and caused casualties.

Since Thursday, groups of Iranian protesters have staged protests in several cities to voice their anger over rising prices and economic conditions. Sporadic violence has erupted during the protests, causing a number of deaths.

Iran's President Hassan Rouhani said on Monday the Iranian people would deal with a "small and minority group" of rioters and lawbreakers exploiting the protests.

Eight dead as Kashmir base raid ends after 36 hours
[Al Jazeera] A marathon shootout at a paramilitary base in Indian-administered Kashmire has ended after almost 36 hours, with the killing of the last remaining gunman fighting off Indian security forces.

The fighting at the Lethpora-based camp, in southern Kashmire, left five Indian soldiers and three fighters dead, according to officials.

The attack began in the early hours of Sunday when three rebels stormed the vast base, located next to a police commando training centre.

Having taken the camps' guards by surprise, the attackers forced their way into the premises and took position inside the compound's buildings.

An intense shootout ensued, as hundreds of police, army and paramilitary soldiers rushed to the scene.

Shesh Paul Vaid, regional police chief, told Al Jazeera that the "operation ... concluded" on Monday afternoon, almost 36 hours later, after security forces recovered the body of the third attacker.

Two local fighters

Officials said one of the button men was a foreigner, while the other two were local residents from nearby villages, making them the first Kashmiris to carry out a "fidayeen" attack in seven years.

Those kind of assaults are typically suicide raids against official Indian installations, such as army and paramilitary camps. Heavily armed, the fighters usually engage in long stand-offs with the security forces until being killed.

Most of the "fidayeen" attacks have been carried out by foreigners affiliated with two Pakistain-based outfits - Lashkar-e-Taiba
...the Army of the Pure, an Ahl-e-Hadith terror organization founded by Hafiz Saeed. LeT masquerades behind the Jamaat-ud-Dawa facade within Pakistain and periodically blows things up and kills people in India. Despite the fact that it is banned, always an interesting concept in Pakistain, the organization remains an blatant tool and perhaps an arm of the ISI...
and Jaish-e-Mohammad
...literally Army of Mohammad, a Pak-based Deobandi terror group founded by Maulana Masood Azhar in 2000, after he split with the Harkat-ul-Mujaheddin. In 2002 the government of Pervez Musharraf banned the group, which changed its name to Khaddam ul-Islam and continued doing what it had been doing before without missing a beat...
, which also claimed the raid at the Lethpora paramilitary base

Police identified the two local rebels as 16-year-old Fardeen Ahmad Khanday and 24-year-old Manzoor Ahmad Baba. They were both residents of south Kashmire's Pulwama district.

Kalash decline
[DAWN] PAKISTAN’S smallest ethno-religious community, the Kalash, is on the verge of extinction. What many centuries could not achieve, contemporary factors have nearly managed to accomplish. The National Commission on Human Rights sounded the alarm in a report in which it noted that the numbers of the Kalash were only around 4,000 and cited "unwilling conversions and cajoled marriages with non-Kalash" as being among the immediate threats facing the community. The document also referred to environmental stressors such as the denial of land rights which has played havoc with the pattern of their lives. As pointed out by the NCHR chairman, the lack of a culture-specific curriculum for Kalash children in the valleys of Chitral where they live is also contributing to the promotion of a cultural homogeneity. The younger generation, already deprived of adequate educational facilities, has no choice but to study from textbooks meant for adherents of the majority faith, which amounts to what he described as "conversion through subtle indoctrination". The fact there is no written Kalasha script has further endangered the preservation of their heritage.

The precarious condition that this indigenous community finds itself in is illustrative of several aspects of our society. For one, we may pay lip service to diversity, but make no real effort to preserve it. The Kalash depend for their survival on the area’s natural resources, as they have done for several millennia; their animistic beliefs go hand in hand with a respect for nature. However,
if you can't say something nice about a person some juicy gossip will go well...
illegal logging has increased the frequency of flash floods in the valleys, and the mushrooming of hotels in the scenic location violates the Kalash’s customary property rights. Moreover, the growing tourist traffic to the area, drawn by the community’s unique rituals and its laidback culture, has brought out some of the worst instincts of the Pak public. Instead of keeping a respectful distance, visitors have been known to harass Kalash women and kiddies; in essence, they treat the community as little more than exhibits on display. Some planning can yet arrest the slide: firstly, aside from addressing the problem of deforestation ‐ a desirable course of action in any case ‐ the customary law of the Kalash should be codified and their cultural traditions preserved and celebrated in the subjects taught to their children. Moreover, the government should consider a permit system to limit the number of visitors to the Kalash valleys so that these gentle people are not erased from Pakistain’s cultural landscape.

Iranian President Rouhani calls for unity as death toll rises in unrest
[CNN] Iranian President Hassan Rouhani tried to downplay the significance of sometimes violent protests across his country that have left 12 people dead in the biggest challenge to the authority of the Tehran regime since mass demonstrations in 2009.

"Our great nation has witnessed a number of similar incidents in the past and has comfortably dealt with them. This is nothing," Rouhani said in a meeting with Iranian members of parliament on Monday.Rouhani has called for calm as his government deals with the widespread spontaneous uprising.

Latest developments:

-- A man "creating a disturbance" shot at police Monday with a hunting rifle, killing one officer and wounding three others, according to state media. The shooting happened in Najafabad.

-- Fresh protests broke out in Tehran and other cities, with amateur video showing demonstrators chanting anti-government slogans.

-- Rouhani called out Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
after a series of tweets from the US President in support of the protests.

-- Russia weighed in, saying the demonstrations are an "internal affair" for Iran and external interference is unacceptable.

-- US Vice President Mike Pence tweeted support for protesters, saying "We will not let them down."

-- Rouhani has acknowledged that Iranians have the right to protest legally but urged national unity Monday as "the first and most important step at this stage."

-- A significant Internet outage was reported across Iran on Monday afternoon, but some users said later it was working again.

-- Iran's Ministry of Information said agitators in the disturbances have been identified and nabbed
Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'!
, and warned that people participating in illegal activities would be "seriously dealt with."

Afghanistan
MoD slams Taliban for making false claims, allegations in its latest report
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Ministry of Defense of Afghanistan (MoD) slammed the Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
group for the baseless claims the group has made in its latest report, covering the group’s insurgency activities and civilian casualties.

MoD front man Gen. Dawlat Waziri said the Taliban group has made confessions to its savagery and slavery with baseless and false claims in its new annual report.

Gen. Waziri further added that the report has been prepared in a bid to appease the group’s masters by disclosing a list of the destructive activities the group has carried out in the past one year and has killed hundreds of ordinary civilians in a bid to have some further financial gains.

According to Gen. Waziri, by issuing the new report, the Taliban group has confessed that it has carried out numerous attacks on civilians, in cities, markets, hospitals, schools, mosques, civilian organizations and security posts in 2017.

The Taliban in its report has claimed that the group has carried out 48 suicide kabooms in 2017 and 1643 civilians have been killed and 1976 others have been maimed.
The Taliban in its report has claimed that the group has carried out 48 suicide kabooms in 2017 and 1643 civilians have been killed and 1976 others have been maimed.

Taliban has attributed the 72 percent of the cause of casualties to Afghan and foreign forces, 18 to ISIS, and 10 to Taliban krazed killers.

However,
if you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning...
Gen. Waziri called the claims by the Taliban group as baseless and accused the group of taking shelters in civilian homes and using civilians as human shields, insisting that the leadership of the ministry of defense takes necessary precautions to ensure the civilians are not harmed during the operations.

Gen. Waziri also added that the Afghan cops conduct their operations in civilian areas in a very slow manner in order to prevent the losses to the ordinary people.

He slammed the Taliban group for remaining reckless regarding the civilian lives and accused them of having no mercy on elders, women, and children while conducting their insurgency.

Africa Subsaharan
The African crucible – Cold Fury
BLUF:
You see, Africa is the example that counters everything our Progressive rulers believe about the world. If the blank slate is true, then Africans should have made great strides in closing the gap with the white world. If things like “institutional racism” were real things, Africa should be racing toward modernity now. If colonialism was the reason these places were so backward, a half century of freedom should have gone a long way toward curing the effects of the white man. Instead. everywhere Africa is worse than a half century ago.
"Blank slate" meaning at least 60,000 years of human existence.
The response from our Progressive rulers is to just ignore Africa. You see it in this National Review article on the end of Mugabe’s rule. The authoress is young, so she was poached in the warm liquids of multiculturalism her whole life. Her struggle to explain the decline of Rhodesia into Zimbabwe reads like a person trying to disarm a bomb while blindfolded. She not only avoids the elephant in the room, which is race, she leaves the reader with the impression that there is no such thing as elephants. Race does not exist.

That’s why Africa stopped being important to our Progressive rulers. It’s why the efforts of George Bush to do something about AIDS in Africa was largely ignored. You can’t talk about Africa without talking about race and race realism. Those are taboo subjects, so the whole continent may as well not exist. Bring up the subject in a room full of Progressives and watch their reaction. You won’t see fear. It will be confusion. The subject has been purged from the catechism, so it no longer exists. Africa is not cool anymore.

That’s why Africa should be a central topic on this side of the river. It is the easiest way for the normie on the other side to begin his journey. It’s a topic where the facts are so stark, it is easy to understand the basics of human bio-diversity, evolution and the cognitive differences between groups of humans. The group characteristics on display in Africa, also look like what Americans see on their televisions. There’s also the great divide between East and West. The Dark Continent is a living museum of human evolution.

Africa is also a useful lever against Lefty. Most of what our Progressive rulers say is some sort of moral posturing. Talking about the most important graph in the world is a good way to turn that against them. A good rule of life is to always focus on what Lefty is trying to ignore. It usually means they fear the topic. Africa is the biggest elephant in the room right now, in terms of demographics. Lefty wants you to believe there are no elephants, so it is a good time to fall in love with the elephants.
My emphasis added

Iraq
Tuz Khurmatu territorial squabbles

Iraqi special police take over PMF locations in Tuz Khurmatu: mayor

Tuz Khurmatu (IraqiNews.com) Iraqi special police forces have taken over some locations held by the Popular Mobilization Forces in the restive area of Tuz Khurmatu, the town’s mayor was quoted saying on Monday.

Ali al-Hussein told Alsumaria that "Rapid Response forces, today, took over duties delegated to the Popular Mobilization Forces which have been maintaining security in Tuz Khurmatu jointly with local police and the Iraqi army".

He said the exchange came "as mobilization forces concluded their assignments".

A home to a mixed Arab, Kurdish and Turkmen population, Tuz Khurmatu was among the disputed regions Iraqi forces seized back from Kurdistan Region’s Peshmerga forces following a referendum the autonomous region held in September to secede from Iraq.

Kurdish politicians have accused Iraqi forces, most notably the PMF, of carrying out forced deportations and inducing a demographic change in Tuz Khurmatu for the favor of Arab ethnicities.

Kurdistan PM Nechirvan Barzani urged Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi to investigate the reported violations. "Abadi claims that he is concerned with the people of the Kurdistan Region’s best interests, and I ask him, if you really are, why don’t you investigate what is happening in Tuz Khurmatu?, Barzani said in a recent speech.

A week ago, the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) said its teams had observed signs of possible violations in Tuz Khurmatu, including destroyed homes and businesses in several primarily Kurdish neighbourhoods after Iraqi forces’ takeover in October.

PMF spox accuses U.S. of evacuating White Flags militants to safe havens

Salahuddin (Iraqinews.com) – A spokesman for the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) has accused the United States of dispatching jet fighters to evacuate White Flags remnants from Tuz Khurmatu district in Salahuddin into safe havens.

Speaking to Knooz Media on Monday, Ali al-Husseini, the PMF spokesman for the northern axis, said, “Kurdish residents have seen U.S. jet fighters landing behind a mountain chain in Tuz Khurmatu district and evacuating remnants of the White Flags group from there after the liberation of the district from this terrorist group.”

Earlier, Husseini had announced the liberation of Tuz Khurmatu from the White Flags members, saying that Iraqi warplanes, backed by PMF artillery shells, managed to put an end to a threat posed by this terrorist group in the district.

“A manhunt was launched in search for the remaining White Flags outlaws in areas surrounding Tuz Khurmatu,” he said, adding that the total elimination of this terrorist group will be announced soon.

Last week, Spokesperson for the Joint Operations Command Brigadier General Yahya Rasool vowed to crush the recently-emerged White Flags group very soon.

“The terrorist White Flags group does not pose a major threat to the security situation in Iraq since its members are estimated at dozens,” he said, adding that the Joint Operations Command has a complete database about the group and will launch an attack on it at the right time.

Speaking about the White Flags’ main goal, Rasool said, “This unlawful group aims at fomenting sedition in Iraq through targeting innocent people in areas like Tuz Khurmatu to prove that terrorism still exists and was not defeated.

Pakistain’s civilian government detailed its plans in a secret order to various provincial and federal government departments on Dec. 19, three officials who attended one of several high-level meeting discussing the crackdown told Rooters.

Saeed has repeatedly denied involvement in the Mumbai attacks and a Pak court saw insufficient evidence to convict him. The LeT could not be reached for comment.

The Dec. 19th document, which refers to "Financial Action Task Force (FATF) issues", names only Saeed’s two charities and "actions to be taken" against them.

The FATF, which is an international body that combats money laundering and terrorist financing, has warned Pakistain it faces inclusion on a watch list for failing to crack down on financing terrorism.

Asked about a crackdown on JuD and FIF, Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal, who co-chaired one of the meetings on the plan, responded only generally, saying he has ordered authorities "to choke the fundraising of all proscribed outfits in Pakistain".

In a written reply to Rooters, he also said Pakistain wasn’t taking action under U.S. pressure. "We’re not pleasing anyone. We’re working as a responsible nation to fulfil our obligations to our people and international community."

Military court indicts soldier-slapping teen Ahed Tamimi, her mother
[IsraelTimes] Both charged with incitement as well as aggravated assault in incident captured on video; judge remands them for another 8 days.

A military court on Monday indicted 16-year-old Paleostinian Ahed Tamimi and her mother, Nariman, both of whom were filmed slapping and shoving IDF soldiers last month in their West Bank village of Nebi Saleh.

The mother and daughter were both charged with aggravated assault of soldiers in the December 15 incident.

The indictment against the teenager cited a total of 12 counts, which took into account five other squabbles with IDF soldiers that she was alleged to have taken part in over the past two years.

While the Military Advocate General requested that both Ahed and Nariman be remanded until the end of proceedings against them, the Judea Military Court judge ruled that the pair be remanded only for an additional eight days to provide the Tamimis’ attorney enough time to prepare a defense.

Among the charges against Ahed were aggravated assault of a soldier, threatening a soldier, preventing soldiers from carrying out their duties, incitement, disturbing the public peace and stone throwing.

Regarding the incitement charge, the MAG cited a statement given by Ahed to her mother, who was filming the December 15 incident on Facebook Live. Immediately following the squabble, Nariman asked her daughter what kind of message she wanted to convey to viewers.

"I hope that everyone will take part in the demonstrations as this is the only means to achieve the result," she said. "Our strength is in our stones, and I hope that the world will unite to liberate Paleostine, because [Donald] Trump made his declaration and [the Americans] need to take responsibility for any response that comes from us," Ahed added, apparently referring to the US president’s decision last month to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

"Whether it is stabbings or suicide kabooms or throwing stones, everyone must do his part and we must unite in order for our message to be heard that we want to liberate Paleostine," she concluded.

The MAG said the Facebook Live stream earned "thousands of views" and "dozens of likes."

While Nariman was also charged with aggravated assault, footage from the incident did not appear to show the mother doing anything beyond pushing the soldiers off the family’s property.

Ahed’s cousin Nour Tamimi, who also took part in the incident, was indicted on Sunday for aggravated assault and preventing soldiers from carrying out their duties. The court ordered on Monday that she be released, but a 24-hour stay in execution was granted, giving the prosecution the opportunity to appeal the decision.
Ynet adds:
Paleostinian President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial...
telephoned Ahed's father Bassem Tamimi last week to encourage him and inquire as to his daughter's wellbeing. Tamimi, a well-known Fatah activist, told Abbas his daughter‐who was enjugged
Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'!
when the video was published‐was in good spirits, remained strong and firm in the belief of the righteousness of her ways and stood ready to "challenge the Israeli occupation."
Thus it is revealed that I was wrong to assume the family are Hamasniks, amd we have all learnt something useful.

Air force hits Hamas camp in Gaza after rocket fire
[IsraelTimes] IAF response comes after rocket from Gazoo hits open field in south; no injuries reported

The Israeli Air Force hit a Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, camp in the southern Gazoo Strip early Tuesday in response to a rocket fired at Israel hours before, the army said.

The army said it targeted a Hamas facility because Israel holds Hamas responsible for all rocket fire and violence emanating from the coastal enclave. There were no immediate reports of casualties in Gazoo.

Late Monday, gunnies in the Gazoo Strip launched a rocket at Israel that hit an open field in the Eshkol region, Israeli officials said.

There were no reports of injuries or damage caused by the rocket.

Police said the projectile was found in the fields of one of the communities in the area, southeast of Gazoo, though they would not specify which one, lest it help terrorist groups hone their accuracy for future attacks.

Warning sirens were not triggered by the launch, apparently because the rocket was heading toward an unpopulated area.

Police sappers were called to the scene to remove the rocket.

There were earlier reports of a rocket fired from Gazoo that landed inside the Strip. It was not immediately clear if it was the same launch or another one.

There were also reports of rocket launches on Sunday that similarly fell short, an indication that they were done by smaller terrorist groups, as opposed to the larger ones that have access to better munitions.

According to Israeli assessments, the rockets are not being launched by Hamas, but by other terrorist organizations in the Strip. Hamas has apparently been either unwilling or unable to clamp down on those groups.

How will Turkey fit into new ‘America First’ policy?
[ARABNEWS] The National Security Strategy (NSS) launched on Dec. 18 by US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
contains several important points that should not go unnoticed.

The NSS maintains the policy line of earlier American administrations, but puts the emphasis on slightly different points. The main line of the strategy is what the president persistently emphasized during the election campaign: "America First." This policy is of course appealing to the American people, but it may not be as appealing for non-Americans.

HuffPost Editor Reveals New Year’s Resolution: ‘Kill All Men’
[DAILYCALLER] HuffPost editor Emily McCombs tweeted Friday about her desire to “kill all men” as part of her New Year’s Resolutions.

New Year’s resolutions:
1. Cultivate female friendships
2. Band together to kill all men — Emily McCombs (@msemilymccombs) December 29, 2017
McCombs, who serves as the “Editorial Director of Parents” for HuffPo, previously wrote an article in November titled, “I Don’t Know If I Can Raise A Good Man.”

In the post, she talks about her own son, saying, “(o)f course, we all want to raise feminist sons. I wrote an article a few months ago detailing the ways I try to do just that. But my efforts are starting to seem like grains of sand against a steady wave-crash of misogyny and rape culture.”

#2  She has a son? Must live in Caliphornia, or Child Protective Services would be there to get him out of there and into a decent home.

#5  McCombs had a rough time in 1997 as a 14-yr. old according to a Daily Mail article. The details are a bit sketchy as to how she found herself in the situation she ended up in. Article. Unfortunately, she has generalized her feelings to all men. She does have a son and I wonder how he has managed to get along while growing up.
