Sharpton: Hold Jussie Smollett accountable if he staged attack
It's that bad.
[PageSix] The Rev. Al Sharpton believes Jussie Smollett should face "accountability to the maximum" ‐ if it’s found that he made up the hate attack against him.

The outspoken civil rights leader addressed recent reports that the alleged assault on the black, openly gay "Empire" actor may have been staged with two bodybuilding brothers, Abimbola and Olabinjo Osundairo.

"I, among many others when hearing of the report, said that the reports were horrific and that we should come with all that we can come with in law enforcement to find out what happened and the guilty should suffer the maximum," Sharpton said Sunday night on his show "PoliticsNation" on MSNBC.

"I still maintain that," he continued. "And if it is that Smollett and these gentlemen did in some way perpetuate something that is not true, they ought to face accountability to the maximum."

When news of the Jan. 29 attack against Smollett broke, Sharpton immediately spoke out to say he was "outraged."

"For Jussie, who’s not only a superb actor and singer but an activist who has fought against homophobia and racism and sexism, to be a victim is something that is totally unacceptable," he told TMZ last month. "I challenge the Chicago law enforcement to do all within their power to find out those that are guilty and they should face the maximum penalty of law."

Sharpton is no stranger to racially charged hoax cases. In the late 1980s, the then-firebrand local political activist served as the spokesman for Tawana Brawley, a black 15-year-old who claimed she had been raped by six white men upstate. They scrawled racial epithets on her chest and smeared feces in her hair, she alleged.

The stunning case eventually went before a grand jury ‐ which ruled after seven months that Brawley’s story was a total fabrication.

Chicago police said this weekend that their interviews of the Osundairo brothers ‐ who were arrested on Wednesday but released two days later without charges ‐ "shifted the trajectory" of their ongoing investigation.

The latest twist in the case comes as reports emerged that Smollett paid the budding actor-models $3,500 to stage the 2 a.m. attack.

Smollett has maintained that two strangers shouted racist and anti-gay slurs and "This is MAGA country!" before dousing him in a "chemical substance," likely bleach, and throwing a noose around his neck.

Terror Networks
Pretending terrorism is America's fault – and Muslims the 'real victims'
[WND] Editor’s note: Islam is conquering Europe through uncontrolled immigration and a sky-high birth rate, while jihadist mass-murder attacks pose an ever-present threat both in Europe, the U.K. and America. Against that backdrop, one of the most egregious examples of psychological projection in today’s politics is the ongoing campaign ‐ by Islamic supremacists and their enablers in the progressive left, including the media ‐ not only to deny that Islamic terrorism has anything to do with Islam, but to portray Muslims as the innocent victims of racial and religious hatred on the part of a bigoted America. Following is the introductory chapter of Jamie Glazov’s acclaimed new book, "Jihadist Psychopath: How He Is Charming, Seducing, and Devouring Us," which explains this psychological and spiritual jiu-jitsu.

At approximately 3:05 p.m. on Halloween afternoon, October 31, 2017, twenty-nine-year-old Sayfullo Saipov drove a rented truck onto a Manhattan bike path and slammed into nearly two dozen cyclists and pedestrians. He then crashed into a school bus and emerged from the vehicle wielding a paintball gun and a pellet gun. He screamed "Allahu Akbar" throughout the whole ordeal and succeeded in murdering eight people and wounding fifteen ‐ until an NYPD officer shot and wounded him, dropping him to the ground.

Saipov was a married Muslim father of three who had come to the United States from Uzbekistan seven years earlier on a "diversity visa lottery" program, a system that allows foreigners into the country, not through their merit, but through random games of chance.

The evidence was overwhelmingly clear that this Uzbekistani immigrant was engaging in Islamic jihad during his massacre on that Halloween afternoon in Manhattan. Indeed, he was already known to law enforcement "for his direct ties to other terrorism suspects under investigation," and the FBI quickly tracked down a second Muslim in connection with his attack. Saipov had also left a note behind in the truck, stating that the Islamic State "would endure forever" and that "There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is his prophet." His cell phones contained thousands of Islamic State-related images, including about ninety videos depicting Islamic State fighters killing prisoners by running them over with a tank, beheading them, and shooting them in the face.

Pulwama attack: Four Indian soldiers killed in Kashmir gun battle
[BBC] Four soldiers have been killed in Indian-administered Kashmir in a gun battle with militants, police say.

The clash occurred in Pulwama district, where more than 40 Indian paramilitary police were killed in a suicide attack on Thursday, raising tensions between nuclear-armed India and Pakistan.

A civilian and two alleged militants were also killed as Indian troops searched for suspects.

Meanwhile Pakistan recalled its ambassador for consultations.

American Hoda Muthana 'deeply regrets' joining Isis and wants to return home
[Al-Grauniad] An American woman captured by Kurdish forces after fleeing the last pocket of land controlled by Islamic State says she "deeply regrets" travelling to Syria to join the terror group and has pleaded to be allowed to return to her family in Alabama.

Once one of Isis's most prominent online agitators who took to social media to call for the blood of Americans to be spilled
, Hoda Muthana, 24, claims to have made a "big mistake" when she left the US four years ago and says she was brainwashed into doing so online.

Speaking from al-Hawl refugee camp in northern Syria, while her 18-month-old son played at her feet, Muthana said she misunderstood her faith, and that friends she had at the time believed they were following Islamic tenets when they aligned themselves to Isis.

"We were basically in the time of ignorance […] and then became jihadi, if you like to describe it that way," she said. "I thought I was doing things correctly for the sake of God."

Ruth Bader Ginsburg Encased In Carbonite Until Next Court Session
Satire of course.
[Babylon Bee] WASHINGTON, D.C.‐With President Trump now nominating his second justice to the Supreme Court, a lot of attention is being paid to the oldest Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Critics fear that if Trump replaces her, it would shift the court far to the right. She’s in fine health for now, though, according to the technicians that have frozen her in carbonite until the next term of the Supreme Court.

As Ginsburg was lowered into the carbonite freezing chamber, she bravely looked up at her fellow liberal justices, who said, "I love you." She reportedly replied, "Huh?"

"People do not need to worry about Justice Ginsburg," said law carbon-freezing technician Clint Simon. "While she is 85, she’s very fit for her age. Also, she’s now hibernating in a nearly indestructible metal shell."

Ginsburg’s legal aides assured the press that carbonite-freezing is very common for someone her age and should keep her safe and perfectly preserved until she is needed again. As soon as there is another court session, they’ll unfreeze her, and after a brief bout of hibernation sickness, she’ll be back to hearing cases and delivering opinions.

"It’s a foolproof way to keep her safe and sound," said legal aide Angela Patterson, though she did admit they had accidentally lost Ginsburg in a shipping error. They now know where she is, though ‐ on display in the parlor of a crime lord ‐ and say they will have her back by the next Supreme Court term in October.

Ilhan Omar To Fundraise for Islamic Terrorist-Linked Paleo Organization
[Daily Caller] Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar is scheduled to raise money in March with the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) only a week after she used an anti-Semitic trope to claim Israel has paid for GOP support.

Omar will be the keynote speaker at CAIR’s 4th Annual Valley Banquet on March 23 to discuss advancing justice and empowering Muslims, according to the organization’s invitation. Single tickets start at $55 per person and a table can cost upwards of $500.

Hassan Shibly, the chief executive director for CAIR-Florida, will also be speaking at the event. Shibly has emphatically stated that Hezbollah and Hamas are not terrorist organizations, reported Jordan Schachtel at Conservative Review.

Hussam Ayloush, the chief executive director for CAIR-LA, who is hosting the event, compared the state of Israel to the Islamic State during a speech in April. Shibley has repeatedly echoed those sentiments and spread propaganda describing U.S. armed forces as radical terrorists.

CAIR is a notable pro-Palestinian organization with ties to Islamic terror groups. The U.S. Department of Justice listed CAIR as an unindicted co-conspirator in funding millions of dollars to the terrorist organization Hamas. Additionally, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) named CAIR a terrorist organization along with al-Qaeda and ISIS in 2014.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Another Fake Hate Crime? Of Course It Is
[Powerline] When a guy named Jussie Smollett, who is an actor on a TV show called Empire, claimed that he was attacked in the middle of the night, in his exclusive Navy Pier neighborhood of Chicago, by a couple of Trump supporters wearing "MAGA" hats, no one with any sense believed him. It was obviously another in a long series of such claims, pretty much all of which turn out to be frauds. That was the case here, as most people always assumed.

The truth is finally coming out, as the Chicago police have patiently investigated Smollett’s story. First, though, let’s visit the liberal media’s uncritical reaction to Smollett’s transparent fabrication. Our friends at Grabien have an excellent compendium:

Limbaugh calls 25th Amendment discussions 'silent coup'
[The Hill] Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh on Sunday decried former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe's comments that Justice Department officials raised a plan to potentially remove President Trump from office as a "silent coup," and suggested those involved should be imprisoned.

"We’re losing sight of what happened. People unelected, simply 'cause they don't like a guy's hairstyle or like where he came from, decided the American people’s decision was invalid and began a systematic process to get him thrown out of office," Limbaugh said on "Fox News Sunday."

"This is a silent coup," he continued. "These guys, if you ask me, ought to be the ones in jail. They ought to be the ones under investigation."

McCabe said in a "60 Minutes" interview set to air Sunday that there were conversations among Justice Department officials raising the possibility of removing Trump via the 25th Amendment, and that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein had offered to wear a wire around the president.

Spanish warship ordered ships to leave British waters near Gibraltar
LONDON (Reuters) - A Spanish warship tried to order commercial shipping to leave anchorages in British waters near Gibraltar but was challenged by the British navy and sailed away, Gibraltar said.

The Spanish ship tried to order ships to leave their anchorages on the eastern side of the Rock but the ships stayed in position.

The British navy challenged the Spanish warship which then sailed slowly along the coast with its weapons uncovered and manned, Gibraltar said.

"There is only nuisance value to these foolish games being played by those who don’t accept unimpeachable British sovereignty over the waters around Gibraltar," a spokesman for Gibraltar said.

Limbaugh: Immigration Is an Emergency ‐ Our ‘Culture' at Risk from Illegals
[Breitbart] On this weekend’s broadcast of "Fox News Sunday," nationally syndicated conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh said President Donald Trump was right to declare a national emergency on the U.S.-Mexico border to build a wall.

Limbaugh, "We have an emergency. This is an invasion. The very existence and definition of American culture, American society, the rule of law. Why does nobody talk about the fact that millions and millions and millions of people are breaking the law coming here illegally and that the Democrat Party wants that to happen?"

He added, "It is undeniable that we have a major immigration problem and a political party that needs a permanent underclass of voters that wants that parade of illegal people who are uneducated, don’t even speak the language, they want them here. It is a crisis."

#9  TW, I couldnt respond to your argument for the Catholic church yesterday.

746, The Catholic church is a human organization, and therefore will never be perfect. The question, in my opinion, that must be asked is whether overall it has been significantly less imperfect than other large organizations over time, and whether it has been a force for good or evil.

Pope Sylvester II does have a long and interesting resumé. But in modern times Rantburg’s own True German Ally, who unfortunately died years ago after surviving both Nazi concentration camps and Soviet gulags, was very pleased that his former neighbour and chess opponent became Pope Benedict XVI. Among other things, Pope Francis’ predecessor changed how the church deals with investigating and punishing sexual abuse.

#10  tw, thanks for the information about TGA, some of which I hadn't known. In my mind I always imagined him as a great man (and a great poster.) And I thank you also for the rest of your comment.

For whatever it's worth to you, the very first day I started attending a Catholic High School, and I mean right after "Hello", we all went to the school auditorium and watch an unvarnished film about the Holocaust. And I've stood with Israel ever since.

Home Front: Culture Wars
The One Wrong Premise at the Center of American Politics Today
Sarah Hoyt via Instapundit
With President Trump declaring that America is not now and will never be a socialist country, the masks have come off.
I remember when "Britons never, never, never shall be slaves." was taken for granted. Today singing "Rule Britannia" on English street will, probably, get you arrested.
[PJMedia] All the establishment left that a mere ten years ago would have denied strenuously that they were in any way, shape, or form socialists, are now defending their precious dream of socialism (really, communism, but the difference is academic and like the difference between male and female penguins, it matters only to themselves. Let’s remember the USSR only ever called itself socialist).

Occasional Cortex had to come out and talk about how socialism is getting more popular all the time (someone told her it was to die for) and the Washington Post (democracy dies in darkness while we hold a pillow over her head) said Trump will lose his "war" on socialism (just like we were always going to lose till communism, till the wall came down. Unexpectedly! As far as the left was concerned).

This means communism and socialism (100 million dead. Why not try again?) has been much in the minds of most of my contacts both on the right and left, and I’ve been reading testimonials on our side and people pointing out it’s not Trump’s war on socialism. It’s our war on socialism. It’s merely a relief to have a president who, unlike Mr. Obama, doesn’t think the ridiculous and abominable system is inevitable.

Thing is, because of it being in the news, I’ve heard an awful lot about why communism and socialism (its pink, pale cousin who causes death by stagnation and piecemeal instead of the honking big mass graves of communism) don’t work.

To be fair there is so much wrong with both systems it’s almost like they were dreamed up by a reclusive and bookish man who had never worked a day in his life and in fact had no concept of what this "working for a living" was, much less of how the economy worked.

...For the purposes of this essay, though, socialism and communism are the same; they're just at different stages of the same cancer.

As such, the flaw at their center is the same.

I followed a link on Facebook to what is generally a very good post.

Apparently, for those not willing to follow the link, someone was asked why the acrimony between right and left, if both love their country.

In the comments, the author of the post above got into a discussion with someone who claimed to have been on the right and turned left.

This gentleman claimed to have turned left because right-wingers don’t care that the world is unfair. They know that some humans have more than others and that success is largely a matter of luck (this is truer in academic and artistic fields) and (according to the commenter) "people on the right don’t care." When he started caring and decided people were "entitled" to food and medical care, etc., he became a leftist. (I would say rather that he became a complete lunatic, but that’s probably a matter of semantics.)

The author of the piece linked above countered that, in fact, people on the right know that and care. But we know life is not and can never be made "fair."

#1  "people on the right don’t care."

IIRC the studies show the 'right' gives more to charities than the 'left'. The Left simply uses the public treasury ie 'other peoples money' to do their 'charity'. When you use your own money, you take care on how effective the money is employed and that there are results. When you use other people's money, you don't care about how it is used or if it is effective. It's about feelings not about results.

According to the Houthi forces’ official media wing, their snipers began the day by killing two Saudi soldiers near the Mashal military base.

Another sniper attack by the Houthi forces targeted the Saudi Coalition’s positions inside the Jizan region on Saturday; this operation resulted in three soldiers killed.

The Houthi forces have recently stepped up their attacks along the Yemeni border following the establishment of a U.N.-brokered ceasefire in the Hodeidah province.

Syrian regime linked to over 300 chemical attacks – report
[IsraelTimes] Global Public Policy Institute calls on international community to target regime’s helicopter fleet to prevent delivery of chemical munitions.

The Syrian regime and government-backed militias have carried out over 300 chemical attacks in the war-torn country, according to a report published Sunday.

The research, published by the Global Public Policy Institute, shows there were at least 336 chemical attacks over the course of the civil war in Syria, with 98 percent of them carried out by Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad

terrorist group.

At least 89% of the chemical attacks were carried out by the Syrian government using improvised chlorine munitions delivered by modified barrel or lob bombs.

According to the report, the regime has targeted civilian population areas with its chemical attacks, rather than the frontline military positions of the rebels. The study said that showed that the use of chemical weapons is part of a strategy of collective punishment for opposition-held areas and the fear of attack is a major contributing factor to the country’s displaced persons crisis.

Approximately 90% of the confirmed attacks occurred after the August 2013 sarin attack on the rebel-held suburbs of Damascus the crossed what then-president Barack Obama

had previously called a "red line," saying it demanded a military response against Assad’s government.

Obama instead struck a deal in which Assad was supposed to destroy his stockpiles of chemicals; however, according to the GPPI report, many subsequent attacks utilized chlorine.

At the time of the reported destruction of the stockpiles, the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons expressed concerns about omissions and discrepancies in Syria’s declaration.

US President Donald Trump

has blamed Syria’s instability on his predecessor refraining to attack Assad after he used chemical weapons on his own people.

"You can’t make a threat and then do nothing. So Syria was lost long ago," Trump said in January when expanding on his decision to pull all American troops out of Syria. US soldiers had been leading the coalition against Islamic State, while also helping to thwart a permanent Iranian infrastructure in the war-torn country.

Last September, prior to the announcement of the troop drawdown, the US warned the Syrian regime that further use of chemical weapons against civilians will be met with "a much stronger response" from Washington, in the wake of a report Assad had authorized his forces to use chlorine gas in their assault on the last significant rebel stronghold in the country.

Sunday’s GPPI report calls on the United States and international community to intervene by directly targeting any apparatus that would allow the use of chemical weapons, saying "the Syrian helicopter fleet, which has played a critical role in the delivery of conventional and chemical barrel bombs, should be a primary target."

The Trump administration ordered a strike on a Syrian airbase in April 2017 in response to a deadly chemical weapons attack in Idlib that left at least 86 people dead, including 27 children, and which allegedly employed the nerve agent sarin.

Then in April 2018 the US, La Belle France and Britannia launched a joint attack on Syrian facilities after a chemical strike on the city of Douman was reported to have killed at least 70 people. US officials said precision strikes hit a scientific research center near Damascus, a storage facility and command post also near the capital and a chemical weapons storage facility near Homs.

Hamas said to seize military boots with tracking devices at Gaza crossing
[IsraelTimes] Security source in Gazoo tells Ottoman Turkish news agency Israel attempted to send the boots to the Strip to spy on members of terrorist groups.

Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw,-run security forces at the Kerem Shalom crossing in the Gazoo Strip have seized a shipment of army boots outfitted with tracking devices, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
’s state-run news agency
...and if you can't trust the state-run news agency who can you believe?...
Anadolu reported on Saturday, citing a security source in the coastal enclave.

Hamas security forces were carrying out "a precise inspection of the tracking devices in order to... understand how they work," the security source said.

Pictures and videos shared on Twitter appeared to show the military boots and the tracking devices that were planted in them.

Shipments that go into Gazoo through Kerem Shalom typically pass through the Israeli part of the crossing, followed by the Paleostinian Authority- and Hamas-controlled portions of it.

Hamas, an Islamist terrorist group sworn to Israel’s destruction, has controlled Gazoo since ousting the Fatah-dominated PA in 2007. However,
the hip bone's connected to the leg bone...
employees of the Ramallah-based PA government have continued to coordinate the entry of goods into the Strip through Kerem Shalom.

The security source accused Israel of attempting to send the boots into Gazoo to "spy on members of the resistance and to follow their movements," noting they resemble a design that terrorist groups in the coastal enclave wear.

The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, the branch of the Defense Ministry that oversees the entry of goods into Gazoo, declined to comment.

The IDF referred questions to the Defense Ministry spokesperson, who did not respond to a request for comment.

The security source in Gazoo said that the Hamas-run security forces were now also imposing "strict security measures" at Kerem Shalom including a "precise inspection" of everything that enters and exits the coastal enclave.

The source added that the measures were put into place after it was proven the Israeli army was "exploiting" the crossing to bring spying materials into Gazoo.

IDF soldier wounded, 19 Gazan rioters reported shot as border heats up
[IsraelTimes] Israel strikes back with tank fire at Hamas, the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®, posts after serviceman hit by improvised explosive, as dozens of Gazooks burn tires, throw bombs at troops and security fence, army says.

An IDF soldier was moderately injured in festivities along the northern Gazoo border on Sunday night, days after a similar attack lightly maimed a Border Police officer, the army said.

The serviceman appeared to have been hit by an improvised explosive thrown by Paleostinians during a riot along the Gazoo border, east of the city of Jabaliya, around 9:00 p.m., the Israel Defense Forces said.

He was taken to Ashkelon’s Barzilai Medical Center in moderate condition. The soldier sustained shrapnel wounds to the neck, the hospital said.

During the same clash in the northern Gazoo Strip, 19 Paleostinians were maimed by Israeli gunfire, the front man for the Hamas-run Gazoo health ministry said in a statement to news hounds. They suffered varying injuries of different degrees, he added.

One person was maimed, sustaining a head wound, according to the health ministry.

The Gazoo health ministry front man said there were no Paleostinian fatalities in the clash.

Paleostinian media reported that the rioters tried to breach the security fence, but were driven back by Israeli gunfire.

In response to the riot, Israeli tanks shelled two Hamas observation posts near the border, the army said.

The military said during the riot, dozens of Paleostinian rioters burned tires and threw improvised bombs at the security fence surrounding the northern Gazoo Strip and the Israeli troops on the other side.

"An IDF soldier was injured apparently by an bomb that was thrown at him," the army said.

After doctors worked to stop the bleeding to his neck, the soldier was taken into surgery, the hospital said.

The Sunday night clash came two days after a massive border riot in which an Israeli Border Police officer from an undercover unit was lightly maimed by shrapnel in the leg when a pipe bomb went kaboom! next to his team, police said.

An Israeli Military Intelligence assessment released last Wednesday warned that Hamas, the terror group that controls Gazoo, may seek to spark a war with Israel in the near future in an attempt to elicit international sympathy and an influx of international aid money to the Gazoo Strip.

The IDF believes Hamas or the Iran-backed Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
, the second largest terror group in Gazoo, could attempt to draw Israel into a war by conducting an attack along the border ‐ an anti-tank missile strike, an ambush from an as-yet-undiscovered tunnel or a similar low-level but significant attack.

In light of this view, IDF chief Lt. Gen. Aviv Kohavi, whose tenure began last month, called for the military to update operational plans for fighting in the Gazoo Strip.

On Kashmir attack, Shah Mahmood Qureshi says 'violence is not the govt's policy'
[DAWN] Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Wormtongue Qureshi has said "violence is not the policy of the government" while referring to an attack on Indian security forces in Indian Kashmiree on Thursday, in which 44 Indian paramilitary soldiers were killed.

"Violence is not a [strategy] nor is it our government's policy," Qureshi said in a video shared by the PTI Official handle on Twitter today.

The video was a recording of the foreign minister speaking to GeoNews in Munich, where he has been attending the Munich Security Conference.

Qureshi condemned the bombing and added that he was "a little sad" that, without investigating the incident, India had instantly levelled allegations against Pakistain in a "knee-jerk reaction".

"You can throw the blame at us," Qureshi said, noting that accusing Pakistain "took one minute".

Qureshi also noted that the world had condemned the incident, "as they should, as lives had been lost".

Qureshi added, however, that the voices coming from within India should also be heard, such as that of former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmire Farooq Abdullah, who has said that placing blame on Pakistain was the "easy route" and that Indian authorities should examine its policies in Kashmire.

Qureshi also highlighted Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmire, making mention of rampant human rights

violations and the near daily funerals.

"Is a reaction to that not expected?" Qureshi asked, adding that a reaction to rape of local women and use of pellet guns had to be expected at some point.

Hamas takes control of the only goods crossing between the Gaza Strip and Israel
[ELUNIVERSAL] The Islamist movement Hamas, the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®, took control on Sunday, from the Paleostinian side of the only border crossing of goods between the Gazoo Strip and Israel , announced the Interior Ministry of the enclave and the Paleostinian press agency Wafa.

According to Wafa, the Paleostinian Authority announced that Hamas "has expelled employees of the Paleostinian Authority in Kerem Abu Salem and has prohibited them from entering the crossing point," AFP quoted.

Hamas confirmed that the employees of the Paleostinian Authority had left the crossing point.

"The security forces at the Kerem Abu Salem crossing point have implemented procedures dictated by security imperatives," Interior Ministry front man Iyad al Bozum said in a statement.

"The employees of the Paleostinian Authority at the crossing have refused to cooperate in these proceedings for a few days and today we were surprised by their departure," he said.

Since expelling Fatah from the Gazoo Strip in 2007, Hamas has been controlling this enclave without opposition and, in 2017, in an attempt to reconcile the Islamist group agreed to hand over control of crossing points to the Paleostinian Authority.

Source: The Petrel missile test successfully completed
[Tass] Tests of a small-sized nuclear power plant for the "Petrel" cruise missile were successfully completed in Russia. This was reported by TASS source in the domestic rocket industry.

"In January, at one of the landfills, the most important stage of testing the cruise subsonic Burevestnik missile, the testing of a nuclear power plant, was successfully completed," the agency’s source said.

According to him, the tests confirmed the declared characteristics of the reactor, providing an unlimited range of the missile. "

TASS does not have official confirmation provided by the source of information.

In March 2018, in a message to the Federal Assembly, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Russia developed a small-sized nuclear power plant that can be used in a cruise missile, due to which it will receive a virtually unlimited range. As Putin noted, the rocket will be low-flying, unobtrusive, with an unpredictable flight path and will receive a nuclear warhead. According to the results of the vote on the website of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the rocket was named the Petrel.

#1  He (Putin) also claimed that the missile had a successful test launch in late 2017.

The U.S. intelligence community quickly disputed that claim. According to reports leaked to the press, the Pentagon believes that after a test in November the missile flew for just a few minutes before crashing into the sea. Several other tests also ended in failure.

Essentially, Russia has an untestable missile because, as the US found out in the 1960's, to test it means contaminating a large part of your country or the waters surrounding it. Another of Putin's propaganda "V Weapons".

Certainly that’s what the camp overseers would be allowed to see. But success has an infinite number of definitions, all dependent on who is defining it.

Underneath, the inmates would all have pooled their various expertises to form escape and sabotage projects — especially sabotage to be executed both within the camp and beyond it, to include those believed to have been turned to AOC’s cause. They would look to the example of the Haganah back in the old days, and of certain Nazi concentration camp populations, the Warsaw Ghetto, and so forth. All it takes is a leader with a certain set of knowledge and skills to set the ball rolling.

Famine, upper stage of socialism
[ELUNIVERSAL] For years, the socialism of the 21st century has languished, a monstrosity supported by the Venezuelans, significantly their elites, when the utopia had already died many times. Since the beginning of the Great Terror of Robespierre, the first form of ideological dictatorship in modernity, the drama of the revolutionaries in power is repeated. It is a cycle until now fatal in which those who wanted to correct the deficiencies of the human condition were trapped, straightening the twisted wood of Humanity by means of the severe exercise of power to create just and harmonious societies.

Modern revolutions are inspired by that social prophylactic desire that is only observed in marginal movements of the Middle Ages and Antiquity. At the beginning of the cycle, variable doses of violence are exercised to subdue the reaction, the resistances of the privileged who defend their dark and petty interests. But fatally with the passage of time, imprisoned dissidents, crushed bourgeois liberties and expressions of rejection, the model still does not work. The expropriated companies go bankrupt, the shortage of goods reigns and the misery, inseparable feature of the revolutions, is imposed.

They say that it is the work of internal and external sabotage, it is necessary to tighten repression and sharpen the systems of espionage, not against political opponents but against the whole society, globally suspicious. Any citizen, imbued with the perfidious ideology of the past, can be a terrorist or saboteur, until the new man finally appears. Then as the years pass, disenchantment comes and important parts of the ruling group understand that the system does not serve, that it is a failure, that what was the citizenship in the previous society, now a mere population, is getting poorer and unhappy.

India withdraws security for Kashmiri separatists stoking fears
[Al Jazeera] Analysts and pro-Indian politicians have warned of an escalation in tensions after a decision to withdraw the security detail for top Kashmiri separatist leaders.

The move by India's home ministry came days after a suicide kaboom on Indian paramilitary forces that killed 42 Indian troops in the restive region and raised fears of a confrontation with Pakistain.

On Sunday, a formal order was issued to remove government protection given to the region's four separatist leaders because of the attack.

"In view of the recent terror attack on a Central Reserve Police Force convoy in Lethpora village in Pulwama, the government of India has emphasised the need to immediately review the wastage of police resources in providing unnecessary security to a large number of non-government persons, particularly relevant in the context of security provided to separatists and their sympathisers," the order said.

The announcement could lead to further crises in the region that has been engulfed in violence for years, analysts said. Last year was the deadliest in nearly a decade with the highest number of casualties of rebels, security personnel and civilians.

Young Afghan girl’s Valentine’s Day song ‘I kiss you amid Taliban’ goes viral
Video can be seen at the link. Gorgeous girl, too.
[KhaamaPress] The video song of a young Afghan girl has gone viral in social media as youths in Kabul and other cities of the country celebrated Valentine’s Day on Tuesday, a new phenomenon which is increasingly becoming famous among the youths of the country despite differences of views exist in this regard in the society.

Composed by a young Afghan poet Ramin Mazhar, the song ’I will kiss you amid Taliban
...Arabic for students...
, you are not afraid’ was sung by Ghawgha Taban on the eve of Valentine’s Day.

The video immediately went viral and has become a hot topic in social media since it was uploaded in Facebook and Twitter

The youths in Kabul celebrated Valentine’s Day with gatherings and singings but the situation remained different in Herat
...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns...
province, one of the key western provinces of the country.

The Police Commandment of Herat issued a statement warning the residents of the province not to celebrate Valentine’s Day, insisting that marking the day is against the instructions of Islam as per the remarks of religious scholars and holy mans.

"I had a simple motive to specify my personal stance against a situation dominated by Talibanism, a thing which Taliban do not have any doubt about. But the reactions were enormous. The reactions are both hopeful and concerning with the main reason being populism, I do not think those who have supported me in their reaction are anti-Taliban and it should be considered as risky, since those considering us as sacred for such a small work, can stone us to death, call us hookers, or torch us to death in the center of the city. A Taliban dominant social situation is nothing more than a blink of an eye where people get united at a blink of eye while some actions are condemned blindly. It is our human obligation to react against Talibanism but at the same time we should not forget the horrific reasons, reactions and individual absenteeism, this individual absenteeism is horrific. Real fight against Taliban is nothing more than an individual revitalization," Ghawgha said in a statement.

This comes as a campaign dubbed ’Will Not Return Backwards’ has also been launched in social media amid rumors regarding the return of Taliban, formation of interim government, dissolving of Afghan army, and exit of the foreign forces.

The Afghan women have the most concern regarding the return of Taliban as they were deprived of their basic rights, including education and work during the Taliban regime back in 1990s.

The concerns, mainly among the women, are on the rise amid ongoing negotiations between the U.S. envoy Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad and the Taliban politicians.

This comes despite the assurances given by the Taliban during the Moscow Summit on 5th and 6th of February which was organized in the absence of the government representatives.

However,
there's more than one way to skin a cat...
concerns still exist that the achievements of the past two decades would be compromised with, including the freedom of expression, political and civil rights of women, and elections, in the event the ongoing talks produce results and a peace deal is achieved.

"This was a assassination", Shah said.

While speaking to DawnNewsTV over the phone, the police officer said unknown miscreants had opened fire on the two security personnel in the Majeed Market area of Loralai bazar.

He added that the assailants managed to escape the scene unhurt.

The bodies of the martyred FC personnel have been shifted to Loralai Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

As per Shah, the police, FC and personnel from other law enforcement agencies had reached the site of the incident and an investigation was underway.

Panic prevailed in the already tense city after the fresh act of terror.

Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani expressed his grief over the martyrdom of the two FC personnel. He condemned the incident and offered his condolences and support to the families of the martyred.

He added that "the cowardly acts of Lions of Islam could not undermine the resolve of security forces".

The chief minister ordered that security measures in Loralai be further strengthened and strict action be taken against terrorists.

Pakistan questions India's 'security lapses' after Kashmir attack
[Al Jazeera] Pakistain has hit back at the allegations by India that it is harbouring fighters from the gang that grabbed credit for the last week's deadly attack on a paramilitary convoy in Indian-administered Kashmire.

Thursday's car kaboom, which killed 42 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, was claimed by the Pakistain-based Jaish-e-Mohammad
...literally Army of Mohammad, a Pak-based Deobandi terror group founded by Maulana Masood Azhar in 2000, after he split with the Harkat-ul-Mujaheddin. In 2002 the government of Pervez Musharraf banned the group, which changed its name to Khaddam ul-Islam and continued doing what it had been doing before without missing a beat...
(JeM).

Following the blast, New Delhi called for "the complete isolation of Pakistain" with Prime Minister Narendra Modi promising a "strong response".

"If our neighbour thinks it can destabilise India, then it is making a big mistake," Modi said on Friday.

On Sunday, Islamabad rejected New Delhi's accusations, saying they were "knee-jerk" and made without any thorough investigation.

"India needs to introspect and respond to questions about its security and intelligence lapses that led to this attack," Pakistain's foreign ministry said in a statement.

"Bluster, belligerence and pursuit of expedient standards to suit internal political interests is both delusional and counterproductive.

"India must come out of the denial mode, end state repression against Kashmiri youth, address widespread alienation in IOK and pursue the path of dialogue," the statement added.

The bombing ratcheted up the tension between the two South Asian neighbours, which rule parts of Moslem-majority Kashmire while claiming the entire territory as their own. India has, for years, accused Pakistain of backing separatist groups in divided Kashmire.

Pakistain insists that it only offers political support to Kashmire's suppressed population.

Formed in 2000, the JeM (or Army of Muhammad) is a Pakistain-based gang that aims to undermine and overthrow Indian control over Kashmire through attacks on security and government targets.

Ocasio-Cortez, addressing a post-Amazon NYC, says city workers deserve better than 'scraps'
[NYDAILYNEWS] Rep. Alexandria Boom Boom Ocasio-Cortez
Dem represntative from da Bronx in Noo Yawk and leader of the Mean Girl Caucus. She is known as much for her innaleck as for her dance moves. She is all in favor of socialism, even though she's fuzzy on the details..
, in the aftermath of Amazon’s 25,000-job snub of the city, believes New York’s workers can do better than toiling for the internet giant.

Speaking at her delayed inauguration in the Bronx, the first-year congresswoman received a raucous greeting from some 300 giddy constituents Saturday at the Renaissance School for Musical Theater and Technology.

"We do not have to settle for scraps in the greatest city in the world," said Ocasio-Cortez two days after Amazon backed off its commitment to open a new Queens facility offering thousands upon thousands of new jobs.

"We did see that this week, when we fight for ourselves and we say, ’It’s not just about any job,’" she continued. "We need to have dignified jobs. We need to create dignified jobs in New York City, jobs that pay well. Jobs that contribute to communities."

State Sen. Michael Gianaris, one of a number of politicians at the event, doubled down on his opposition to the since-scuttled Amazon plans for a new headquarters in Long Island City.

"I bring you greetings from across the river in Queens, where I think we just showed we know how to throw down when we have to," the Democrat said to cheers and applause.

"This is the time for the oppressed and the downtrodden and those who are everyday people to band together and finally, finally claim the power that they have always deserved in this country," he continued. "... We set the tone in Queens this week, and we’re going to keep delivering the message."

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran summons Pakistan envoy to protest deadly suicide attack
[Al Jazeera] Iran has lodged an official protest with Pakistain's ambassador to Tehran over the suicide kaboom in Sistan-Baluchestan province that killed 27 Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps members.

Foreign Ministry front man Bahram Ghasemi said on Sunday that Iran "explicitly conveyed" to Pak Ambassador Rafat Masoud that Tehran expects Islamabad and its military "to make a serious and decisive action" against the Jaish al-Adl and its base inside its territory, Mehr news agency reported.

Ghasemi also said that the foreign ministry asked Pakistain to take "immediate and necessary measures" to identify and arrest the attackers, who carried out Wednesday's bombing, which also left 13 Revolutionary Guard members injured.

Masoud took over her post as Pakistain's first female ambassador to Iran in August.

The diplomatic protest comes as Iran's parliament speaker Ali Larijani said in a strongly-worded statement that the Pak government should be held to account for the incident.

"The Pak government should be accountable for this act involving the group orchestrating and conducting the operation from their territory," Larijani said during Sunday's session of parliament.

Larijani said Pakistain "cannot act irresponsibly", adding that "such behaviour will severely damage the level of cooperation" between the neighbouring countries.

Speaking at an event in Hormozgan province on Sunday, President Hassan Rouhani also repeated his earlier threat to avenge the attack, saying he "regrets" the "wrong policies" of Iran's neighbours, without mentioning Pakistain.

On Saturday, Iran's deputy foreign minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi held a last-minute meeting with Sushma Swaraj, the foreign minister of India, the regional rival of Pakistain, to discuss the attack in Sistan-Baluchestan and a similar incident in Indian-administered Kashmire that killed 42 paramilitary members.

Both Jaish al-Adl and Jaish-e-Muhammad, which grabbed credit for the attack in Kashmire, are based in Pakistain.

Iran shares an almost 1,000km border with Pakistain, and in recent years has borne the brunt of cross-border attacks carried out by Jaish al-Adl and other affiliated gangs.

In response to Iran's demand, Pak Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Wormtongue Qureshi announced on Sunday that he will send a special delegation to Tehran to hold talks about the attack.

India's newly launched fast train hits cattle hurdle
[DAWN] India's first semi-high speed train broke down on Saturday after colliding with a cow on the tracks, a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new passenger service.

The Vande Bharat Express touted as India's fastest train and built under the Modi government's flagship "Make in India" programme, made its first journey on Friday from New Delhi to the Hindu holy city of Varanasi.

But on its return to the capital the next day a collision with a cow disrupted electricity supply to four carriages and damaged the brake system, according to Indian Railways.

"The train later experienced technical issues and was stranded on the way to Delhi," Indian Railways spokeswoman Smita Vats Sharma told AFP.

The train reached the capital "safely" ahead of its first commercial journey on Sunday, she added.

Anthony Weiner released from prison, will register as sex offender
[NY Post] Convicted ex-congressman Anthony Weiner has been sprung from prison ‐ and is now part of a federal re-entry program in New York, records show.

Weiner has been transferred from Federal Medical Center in Devens, Mass. where he served a bulk of his 21-month sentence for sexting a 15-year-old girl from North Carolina, according to Federal Bureau of Prisons records.

The 54-year-old is now being supervised by the federal Residential Reentry Management, which has a field office in Sunset Park and operates multiples facilities, the records say.

He is either in a halfway house or in home confinement, TMZ reported. It's not clear when the transfer took place.

Weiner is set to be released from federal custody on May 14, thanks to good conduct behind bars that shaved about three months off his sentence.

He'll spend three years on supervised release and will have to pay a $10,000 fine as well as register as a sex offender.

The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
is playing a subversive role with its financing of certain krazed killer groups is not an accusation that has been levelled only in Pakistain. Just this week, the European Commission added the country (alongside Pakistain) to its blacklist of nations that pose a threat because of lax controls on "terror financing and money laundering".

Pakistain's reliance on Saudi money to keep its failing economy afloat has kept Pak politician silent on the issues of problematic financing. Prime Minister Khan has previously admitted that the country cannot afford to turn down Saudi Arabia's investment and aid offers because it is "desperate for money". But what cost are we willing to pay for Saudi money?

While any economic investment is most welcome, Khan must tell Prince Mohammed that it cannot come at the price of its internal stability. It is time that Islamabad reconsiders its decades-old transactional relationship with Riyadh.

Pakistain cannot afford to be a battleground where Saudi Arabia and Iran settle their scores. It cannot be complicit in the rise of anti-Shia violence or destabilisation of neighbouring countries any longer.

What Pakistain needs even more than money is religious harmony and stability. If the Pak government does not put an end to Saudi Arabia's harmful actions within its borders, peace in the country and in the region will be at great risk. And no aid package is worth that.

Nancy Pelosi wishes everyone a ‘Happy Thanksgiving’ on Valentine’s Day
[BIZPACREVIEW] House Speaker Nancy San Fran Nan Pelosi
Congresswoman-for-Life from the San Francisco Bay Area, born into a family of professional politicians. Formerly Speaker of the House, but it's not her fault they lost. Really. But without her, they'd never have gotten back in. Count on that! Noted for her heavily botoxed grimace and occasional mental wandering...
is in her later years, but that’s OK, since plenty of others in the government are older, including President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
What’s maybe not OK ‐ and if anything rather concerning to some ‐ is Pelosi’s habit of mispronouncing words, suffering brain freezes and getting the most basic details wrong.

Take for instance dates. If you know what day it happens to be, congratulations, because you apparently know more than Pelosi, a woman so confused she got Valentine’s Day mixed up with Thanksgiving.

*facepalm*

"Happy Valentine’s Day," she initially said Thursday after the House passed a bipartisan omnibus spending bill. "We saluted our victory ‐ or the victory for the American people ‐ earlier with chocolate. Chocolate from Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,, I call it the champagne of chocolate. So again, I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving. You should go home now to your loved ones."

Afghanistan
Child among 3 killed in Kandahar roadside bomb explosion
[KhaamaPress] At least three civilians including a child were killed in an kaboom triggered an improvised bomb in southern Kandahar province of Afghanistan.

Provincial Police Chief Gen. Tadin Khan in a statement said the incident has taken place in the vicinity of Daman district.

He said an improvised bomb which was planted on a roadside went off leaving three civilians dead including two men and a child.

No individual or group has so far grabbed credit behind the incident but Gen. Tadin Khan blames Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
for the incident.

The Talibs often use improvised bomb as the weapon of their choice to target the security forces and government officials but in majority of such attacks ordinary civilians are targeted.

Pelosi Deletes Sympathetic Tweet For Jussie Smollett
[DailyCaller] House Speaker Nancy Pelosi deleted her original tweet sympathetic for "Empire" actor and singer Jussie Smollett amid reports that Smollett may have staged the alleged January 29 attack against him.

Smollett claimed to law enforcement he went to a local Chicago Subway eatery at 2 a.m., and he was physically assaulted by two men in ski masks who poured a bleach-like substance on him and tied a rope around his neck like a noose.

Smollett, who is gay and black, also told police his attackers yelled racial and homophobic slurs at him as well as told him, "This is MAGA country."

Politicians and celebrities alike rallied around Smollett, including Pelosi, who tweeted on January 29, "The racist, homophobic attack on [Smollett] is an affront to our humanity. No one should be attacked for who they are or whom they love."
except Deplorables, right?
However, as the case unfolded over the past two weeks more questions arose as to whether Smollett was telling the complete truth about the January 29 incident.
Hoping the original tweet took her 18.5-minutes to post...

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Jussie Smollett Case: Brothers Questioned By Police Were Paid $3,500 To Stage Attack
[CHICAGO.CBSLOCAL] Jussie Smollett paid two brothers to stage an attack against him, directed them to buy items used in the alleged assault and actually rehearsed it with them, sources say.

Sources say at least one of the brothers bought the rope used in the incident at Smollett’s request. The sources also say the "Empire" actor paid for the rope, which was purchased at the Crafty Beaver Hardware Store in the Ravenswood neighborhood the weekend of Jan. 25.

The brothers, who were questioned by police this week before being released, were paid $3,500 before leaving for Nigeria and were promised an additional $500 upon their return.

They left for Nigeria later in the day on Jan. 29, after the attack.

Sources said one of the brothers held the rope and poured bleach while the other wore a plain red hat and yelled slurs at Smollett.

The sources say the red hat was bought at an Uptown beauty supply store and that the attack was supposed to happen before Jan. 29. The brothers told detectives the three men rehearsed the attack days prior to it happening.

Smollett claims two men attacked him in Streeterville early Jan. 29 as he was heading to his apartment. He said they yelled racial and homophobic slurs at him, poured a chemical on him and put a rope around his neck.

#4  His new Atty Monico is gone:
"According to Fox 32 news reporter Rafer Weigel, lawyer Michael Monico is no longer representing Jussie Smollett after a disagreement occurred about the decision to release a statement this past Saturday night. Weigel said Smollett is now being represented by Todd Pugh and Victor Henderson, two attorneys from Chicago.

Along with that, representatives for Jussie Smollett said Michael Monico was never repping the actor from the beginning. However, Monico spoke to Fox News and reportedly told them he was representing Smollett, but now that is no longer the case.

Since then, CBS reporter Charlie De Mar noted that Smollett’s management team acquired the service of Anne Kavanagh, whose firm offers crisis management."

#5  Per TMZ:
"The sources say there were red flags from the get-go. Cops were extremely suspicious when Jussie took them out to the area where he said he was attacked and pointed to an obscure camera saying how happy he was that the attack was on video. Turns out the camera was pointing in the wrong direction. Cops thought it was weird he knew the location of that camera.

And, there's this. We're told investigators didn't believe the 2 alleged attackers screamed, "This is MAGA country," because, "Not a single Trump supporter watches 'Empire.'""

#13  From 2015:
U.S. Soldiers Told to Ignore Sexual Abuse of Boys by Afghan Allies
KABUL, Afghanistan — In his last phone call home, Lance Cpl. Gregory Buckley Jr. told his father what was troubling him: From his bunk in southern Afghanistan, he could hear Afghan police officers sexually abusing boys they had brought to the base.

“At night we can hear them screaming, but we’re not allowed to do anything about it,” the Marine’s father, Gregory Buckley Sr., recalled his son telling him before he was shot to death at the base in 2012. He urged his son to tell his superiors. “My son said that his officers told him to look the other way because it’s their culture.”

Eroding Western deterrence and harming Western vital interests by serving and submitting to and bribing hostile and very very evil 'allies' is the agreed upon consensus policy of Western political elites.

For many years the entire Western world has been an embarrassment.

China closes Mount Everest Tibet route to tourists over trash pileup
[UPI] China has closed the Tibetan entrance to Mount Everest indefinitely because of mounting garbage that's been left on the world's tallest mountain.

Chinese officials said although the entrance is closed, tourists can still visit the Rongpo monastery area at 16,400 feet above sea level. Only those with climber permits, however, will be allowed to go to the base camp about 600 feet higher, and beyond.

"The key area [of the reserve] will be closed for tourism for an indefinite period, mainly for ecological conservation," tourism official Tang Wu said Wednesday.

News of the decision, which officials reached last month, did not get much attention until this week.

Donald Trump demands Europe take hundreds of ISIL fighters

He made the comments in a series of tweets on Saturday demanding that Britannia, La Belle France, Germany and other European allies put more than 800 detained cadres from Islamic State

of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS, ISIS) with their citizenship on trial.

The president issued the warning as a US-backed militia battles the last remaining ISIS combatants in a tiny sliver of territory in eastern Syria.

"The caliphate is ready to fall. The alternative is not a good one in that we will be forced to release them," Trump said of the war prisoners.

#3  This isn't as easy at it sounds.

Yes, European countries need to take back "their" citizens, but that's complicated. Germany has no diplomatic representation in Syria which could establish citizenship, and we certainly won't take back scum that is not "ours".

Then, it might not be that easy to take them back and put them in jail. We don't have and do not want something like Guantanamo, but crimes might not be easy to prove. This means they would have to be released (and supervised 24/7).

The SDF sure doesn't want them. Too bad they have never heard of the Somali dictator Siad Barre, who was president in 1977 when the German Lufthansa plane was hijacked by Palestinian terrorists and successfully stormed by German GDG 9 forces.

Before the storming the German negotiator met with Barre and tried to find out what should be done with surviving terrorists.

Barre looked at him stunned: "You will have surviving terrorists???"

But yes, the Kerguelen Islands should be lovely in spring.

#5  Of course it isn’t that easy, European Conservative. But now various governments, including America’s, will begin pondering — with some sense of urgency — how to formally deal with the situation. We saw yesterday (see here) what the current positions of a number of countries is on the subject, but really it is not fair to burden the limited resources of non-state government of the SDF to handle it, especially as they are in the middle of two existential wars — against ISIS on one side and Turkey on the other... and the situation with Assad not yet finalized, but clearly no longer a negotiation between equals.

Iraq is happily judging their ISIS prisoners — male and female alike — condemning them, and hanging them in job lots. But what is ignored when done by the Iraqis will be loudly condemned should the Kurds openly engage in it, not to mention that the Kurds thus far seem less willing to take such a brutal approach.

Not to mention that President Assad may yet decide that dealing with the SDF’s ISIS captives is hs perogative as the national government. And he has been known to release prisoners just to spite those they would go after once freed...

'Pakistan will be a very important country in coming future,' says Saudi crown prince

Addressing a reception dinner at Prime Minister House hours after arriving in Pakistain, the crown prince ‐ known as MBS for short ‐ said Pakistain is a "dear country" to all Saudis and that the two countries "have walked together in tough and good times".

He said Pakistain today had a great future in store "with a great leadership", and noted that the country's GDP grew by 5 per cent in 2018.

"We believe that Pakistain is going to be a very, very important country in the coming future and we want to be sure we are part of that," the crown prince said.

Turning towards Prime Minister Khan, he said his country had been "waiting for that kind of a leadership" to partner with and "build a lot of things together".
