The Leader Of 'Calexit' Just Announced He's Abandoning The Movement And Settling Permanently In Russia
The leader of California separatist group Yes California announced in a 1,600-word statement on Monday that he "intends to make Russia" his "new home" and is therefore withdrawing his petition for a "Calexit" referendum.
Great. Now Dems have something they can investigate for real. I'm sure they'll get right on it.
Louis Marinelli, who has spearheaded the Calexit campaign since 2015, set up a makeshift embassy in Moscow in December in partnership with far-right Russian nationalists who enjoy Kremlin support while promoting secessionist movements in Europe.

"I have found in Russia a new happiness, a life without the albatross of frustration and resentment towards ones’ homeland, and a future detached from the partisan divisions and animosity that has thus far engulfed my entire adult life," Marinelli wrote on Monday. "Consequently, if the people of Russia would be so kind as to welcome me here on a permanent basis, I intend to make Russia my new home."
Is this a fancy way of saying he found a Russian girlfriend?
He added that he will "not return to California in the forseeable future," so "it is only proper" that he withdraw the Calexit ballot initiative petition and "allow a new petition, free from ties to me and drafted by others, to be resubmitted at future date of their choosing."
Since you're probablynot returning, you'll want to revoke your US citizenship so you won't have to pay double taxes.
Marinelli had been organizing the California independence referendum from Russia's fourth-largest city, Yekaterinburg, where he has lived with his wife, Anastasia, since September.
Oops, I guess it wasn't a girlfriend thing. The wife was homesick and the commute to work was a bi+ch.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Here's Why The F-35 Once Lost To F-16s, And How It Made A Stunning Comeback
The F-35 Joint Strike Figher represents the US Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps' vision for the future of combat aviation, but a damning 2015 report detailed how the F-35 had lost in dogfights with F-16s and F-15s -- the very planes it was intended to replace.

Essentially it came down to energy management in the early days of the F-35's testing, according to the report.

During a dogfight, jets have to manage extreme amounts of kinetic energy while making pinpoint turns and maneuvers.

With smaller wings than some legacy fighters and an inferior thrust-to-weight ratio, the early F-35 pilots found it nearly impossible to engage with F-16s.

The report has since become a talking point for detractors of the F-35 program who say it's too expensive and not capable.

But according to retired US Marine Corps Maj. Dan Flatley, who helped design the training syllabus for F-35 dogfights, the F-35's lackluster performance against legacy jets had more to do with old habits of the pilots and a weapons system in its infancy rather than anything wrong with the F-35 concept itself.

"When you first get in the F-35 and try to fight it visually, you immediately go back to everything you knew in your legacy fighter," Flatley told Business Insider in a phone interview.

Indeed, the same report that details the F-35's losses to older jets states that the pilot himself had 2,000 flight hours in an F-15 Strike Eagle, which is a very different beast.

"If you try to fight it like a fighter it isn’t, you’re going to have terrible results," Flatley said of the F-35. Like any new weapons system, the F-35 takes some getting used to. In 2015, F-35 pilots were pulled from other fighters and introduced to a plane that fundamentally reimagined aerial warfare. A learning curve had to be covered.

Unlike dogfighters from World War II, the F-35 mainly focuses on flying undetected while using its array of fused sensors to paint a clear picture of the threat environment for miles out and to engage with targets before they're ever seen.

As exciting as dogfights are, it's been decades since a US jet engaged an enemy in a turning dogfight, and the F-35's design reflects that new reality.

"If I went out and fought an F/A-18 on day one I’d get destroyed," said Flatley. "But if you do what the jet is really good at, you can do things those other jets wouldn’t dream of."

Flatley stressed that dogfighting, where the close range diminishes the F-35's stealth and sensor fusion advantages, is certainly not the purpose of the Joint Strike Fighter, but rather it can excel in those situations in the right hands.

That's not to say the F-35 was a perfect aircraft that was simply misunderstood in 2015. Flatley said he did approach Lockheed Martin to suggest changes to the jet after its poor run against legacy aircraft.

One attribute the F-35 has that, counterintuitively, helps it in dogfights is its ability to slow down during a turn, but it was during these slow turns that pilots weren't able to control the plane how they were used to.

Basically, the engineers at Lockheed Martin built the F-35's flight controls with an incredible amount of automation, which Flatley said could make the jet "feel like it was fighting you," or "feel like the hand of god pushing you in certain directions."

Flatley and other F-35 pilots needed the ability to push their airplane right to the edge of its abilities -- almost to the point where it would fall out of the sky because it hit slow speeds at insane angles -- should they need to in a do-or-die dogfight.

"You guys are hand-holding us," Flatley told the engineers, who hadn't imagined the fighter pilot's need to push the limits of their aircraft.

"We want more authority. I want to be able to throw my nose around if I need to," said Flatley, referring to the plane's ability to point its front end at threats in order to better assess and target them.

So Lockheed Martin worked with the pilots and fixed the issues keeping them from acing dogfights, as they do now.

Since that test, the F-35's record speaks for itself. During Red Flag, the US Air Force's most realistic and challenging jet-fighter training event, the F-35 came out with a stunning 20-1 kill ratio on the legacy aircraft that had once beaten it.

Flatly, who came from an F/A-18 background, said he had to shake the old habits he formed in an aircraft that was originally conceptualized in the 1970s, but young pilots training today won't have those problems and could revolutionize the way the F-35 fights.

"The next generation, the first lieutenants that have never flown an F-18 before, those are the pilots that are going to define what the F-35 is going to do," said Flatley.

#2  During a dogfight, jets have to manage extreme amounts of kinetic energy... --Col. Boyd's Energy–maneuverability theory, yes. In WW2 the US pilots to dive, shoot n' disengage against the Zero ... or die.

The thing that bothers me is that the battlefield is not a dueling arena. Suppose your super-stealthy F-35 gets spotted by an enemy that wanders into the battlespace while you are trying to ace your opponent?

#3  "The next generation, the first lieutenants that have never flown an F-18 before, those are the pilots that are going to define what the F-35 is going to do,"

Yea, die! The first rule of air combat is to survive!

Really, go so slow in a turn, that makes them sitting ducks for any propeller war planes. The Japanese Zeros (Mitsubishi A6M) was almost unbeatable in WW2 until we finally got airplanes that can out-maneuver the Zeros. Point is the more maneuverable aircraft will almost always win, the F-35 "flying Turkey" ain't it.

Sorry Major Dan Flatley, I don't buy your explainion, it frankly smell of BS.

During a dogfight, jets have to manage extreme amounts of kinetic energy while making pinpoint turns and maneuvers.

Seriously, how does one manage kinetic energy other than throwing parts overboard? I'm thinking the guy does not understand mass as well as he think he does. Last time I checked, the laws of physics has yet to be overturned.

As exciting as dogfights are, it's been decades since a US jet engaged an enemy in a turning dogfight, and the F-35's design reflects that new reality.

Winning a dogfight is mostly being able to outturn your enemy. It's been a while since we were in any kind of dogfight. "New reality"? Anyone remember the F-111?

This article is IMO, a pathetic attempt to justify the F-35. I would have scrapped this designs after the first few prototypes. Copying the SR-71 look for the "cool" and "wow" factors does not make a decent fighter plane.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Obama, FBI Relied On Discredited ‘BuzzFeed Dossier' To Obtain Warrant On Trump Team
FBI Director James Comey and then-U.S. President Barack Obama relied on the hugely discredited ’BuzzFeed dossier’ to secure a FISA warrant against then-candidate Donald Trump’s team, reports CNN.

According to the outlet, U.S. officials briefed on the FBI’s Russia-Trump probe say Comey cited the dossier "in some of his briefings to members of Congress in recent weeks, as one of the sources of information the bureau has used to bolster its investigation."

As CNN goes on to state, "the dossier is a collection of memos compiled by a former British intelligence operative working for political opponents of Trump."

This is reportedly the same dossier BuzzFeed published earlier this year -- the one suggesting Russians had been supporting Donald Trump for years and had information concerning explicit pee-pee-centric encounters between Trump and prostitutes.

Ex-BuzzFeed reporter Rosie Gray ultimately published a piece in The Atlantic calling the dossier’s veracity into question.

The piece includes a comment from Trump aide Michael Cohen providing an alibi in response to allegations that he was "the ongoing secret liaison relationship between [Trump’s] campaign and the Russian leadership."

"I’ve not been to Prague, I’ve never been to Czech, I’ve not been to Russia," he said. "The story is completely inaccurate, it is fake news meant to malign Mr.Trump."

During the time frame the dossier places Cohen in Russia, he claims he was actually in a meeting with his son and a USC baseball coach. The coach confirmed this.

BuzzFeed, of course, published the dossier even when other mainstream media outlets like the Washington Post and The New York Times refused to do so, citing its unverified nature.

Now, it turns out ‐ as ZeroHedge also reports ‐ the FBI and Obama administration used the discredited report to receive a warrant against Trump team member Carter Page.

The warrant, claims ZeroHedge, "paved the way for Comey and the Obama administration to secretly monitor the Trump campaign."

ZeroHedge reports that Carter Page has responded to this latest revelation by stating, "I look forward to the Privacy Act of 1974 lawsuit that I plan to file in response to the civil rights violations by Obama administration appointees last year."
Oh dear. Looking at his Wikipedia page, one might assume that Mr. Page has both deep pockets and useful contacts. This could become amusing, though not for the targets.
"The discovery process will be of great value to the United States, as our nation hears testimony from them under oath and we receive disclosure of the documents which show what exactly was done in 2016."
Never let a crisis fake news report go to waste.

#4  Hopefully this will curb the abuse by some companies to fire/layoff their folks and then hire an outside 'subcontractor' for various tasks.

It's illegal to fire/layoff your employee(s) and directly hire H1-B folks to replace them, so the workaround is to hire these 3rd party companies (who have no employees specifically for the required tasks and therefor can request the foreign workers with the required skillsets).

These 'Temporary Worker' companies just act as a pass-through....legally until now.

I dealt with many of these types in my software consultant days and they were generally moderate at best talents. But they were also living 4 to a small apartment to cut costs to their employer (aka 3rd part sub-contractor).

It would have been better to have the companies subsidize the old CDI model for developing programmers and cut the regulations that made that such a cost prohibitive nightmare.

Bad Reviews For Trump's Korea Policy ‐ Except in Korea
The New York Times bemoans Trump’s "recklessness." Ishaan Tharoor, a Washington Post blogger with the modest remit of covering the entire world, warns of the "dangers" of Trump’s policies. Even Ian Buruma, an expert on Dutch politics most famous for his bizarre attacks on the exceptionally brave Ayaan Hirsi Ali, has weighed in on Trump’s approach to North Korea: Apparently it "plays into North Korea’s hands."

And yet, the Trump approach is receiving plaudits precisely where it matters most: in South Korea.

South Korea, perhaps because its population is among the world’s oldest, remains a country dominated by print newspapers, which are highly influential. An official affiliated with the country’s dominant conservative party estimates to me that more than half of Koreans still read a daily newspaper. And those newspapers’ editorial boards have praised Trump’s North Korea policy.

The team of Trump, Tillerson, and Mattis have found in just weeks a policy that puts Pyongyang on notice, moves China closer to becoming a responsible player, but hasn’t pushed Seoul any closer to total political chaos.

After three Administrations worth of can-kicking, that’s not bad.

Former Patriots player and convicted murderer Aaron Hernandez Tango Uniform
[FOX] Aaron Hernandez, the former New England Patriots star who was convicted of murder in 2015, killed himself in his prison cell Wednesday morning, officials said.

Hernandez, 27, was found hanging in his cell by corrections officers around 3:05 a.m. at the Souza Baranowski Correctional Center, Massachusetts Department of Correction officials said in a statement.

He was pronounced dead an hour later.

Hernandez was in a single cell in a general population housing unit and hanged himself with a bed sheet attached to his cell window. He also tried blocking his door from the inside with various items, officials said.

GOP senator: Trump should spend less time at Mar-a-Lago
[The Hill] Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) said on Tuesday that President Trump's frequent trips to his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida bother not only her, but other members of the Republican caucus.

"I do wish he would spend more time in Washington, D.C.," Ernst said during a town hall meeting. "That's what we have the White House for."

Since he took office, Trump has spent seven out of the last 13 weekends at his self-described "winter White House" in Palm Beach. The visits have stirred controversy, in part because of the enormous costs associated with such frequent travel.

One estimate of the weekend trips by CNN placed the cost so far above $20 million, putting Trump on track to spend more on travel in his first year in office than former President Obama spent in eight years.
A 'CNN' estimate you say ?
Before becoming president, Trump frequently assailed Obama for his excessive travel and vacations, arguing that the then-president should stay in Washington to work rather than play golf on the weekends.

"I think that has been bothering not just me but some other members of our caucus," Ernst said of Trump's Mar-a-Lago trips.

#5  President Obama played on the weekends, and frequently during the week as well, in addition to his frequent vacations. President Trump works during the weekend, off-site and in casual clothes -- a big difference. Witness his recent hosting of the leader of China and his wife at Mar-a-Lago, who were charmed by the Trump grandchildren singing to them in Mandarin. Both the weekend get-away and the singing were gushed over in the Chinese press, so that counts as diplomacy, not excess overhead.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
U.S. Border Officials Suspected of Working with Drug Smugglers, Says Border Patrol Council President
[Breitbart] A top Border Patrol agent and president of the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) has alleged that Border Patrol management in Montana’s Havre Sector are suspected of being corrupt and ordering miles of border unpatrolled in an intentional effort to help drug smugglers. The agent, Brandon Judd, made the shocking assertions in response to a Breitbart Texas exclusive "Officials Defy Trump’s Promises: 40 Miles of Border Ordered Unpatrolled" and were made on Breitbart News Daily on SiriusXM.

Agent Judd, as president of the NBPC, asserted:
"They [Border Patrol managers] started assigning agents to one zone instead of letting them patrol the entire border. What this did was it left 40 miles just completely open. Which then allows anybody to cross the border without being detected, without being found. Again, who knows what came across the border during that period of time: narcotics, weapons, illegal aliens and who knows from where ... this is something that we saw during the Obama-era and was something that we definitely didn’t think was going to happen in the Trump-era."
Agent Judd continued:
"I’ve been in contact with the highest levels of management and they’re looking into it. It’s believed that this is due to corruption. That management is making the decision to pull agents out of certain zones to allow contraband to come across the border ... this is being looked at that that’s what this is about."

Listen to Border Patrol Agent Judd’s interview below:

#2  Not shocking at all. There have long been reports that some Border Patrol agents succumbed to the combination of threats and bribery to look the other way or help out -- or even were members of drug gangs who joined the Border Patrol with malice aforethought.

Cleaning that out is a never ending problem, but now they have a president who will help rather than hinder. Happy hunting, guys.

Democrat Jon Ossoff falls a bit short in Georgia's 6th Dist.
[Breitbart] It was a photo finish in the "jungle primary" special election in Georgia’s Sixth Congressional District on Tuesday to select a replacement for Rep. Tom Price (R-GA), punctuated by unusual technical reporting delays from Fulton County, the largest county in the district.

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, thirty-year-old Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff fell just short of the 50-percent-plus-one vote total he needed to avoid a June runoff with the GOP’s Karen Handel, the former Georgia Secretary of State who finished in a distant second.

CNN declared the race a runoff between Ossoff and Handel shortly after midnight.

Fifth Column
Anarachists reflect on their defeat in the streets of Berkeley
[Reddit] The troubling implications of the conflict in Berkley today.

I have seen quite a bit of media that has come out of Berkeley today, including watching some of a live stream, and it is very troubling.

The right was able to hold their own to a large degree against antifascists, in one of the most radical metropolitan areas in the country. They gave as good as they got, and they were able to keep a presence in the streets for hours.

Everything that we have vocalized about the Trump presidency, that it has mobilized racists and fascists, that it emboldens them, that it allows them to present their bigotry as simply another political opinion, is coming true.

In the aftermath of this event, It is time for some serious reflection. Now is not the time to sugar coat the truth, to revel in the feeling of success of a clean punch to a Nazi's face, but rather to take a step back and ask what organizational steps can take place to stop this from happening again. What tactics can we use to disrupt their events, even when there are similar numbers to our own? What differences must we put down, and alliances we need to create, in the resistance to fascism?

My thoughts are with our comrades in the Bay who were injured today. The highest level of respect to you.

Bash the Fash.

Now more than ever.

Response from one commenter:
There's nothing at stake for antifa besides their social media profiles. No one getting hauled into prison camps, no rights being infringed for them, the 'nazi' are just pretend nazis, the little rebel costumes and all that shit don't hide what everyone knows they are. They're kids, mostly weak, many female, college drop outs, many paid or doing it for college credit. You can hope for better outcomes but you can't change the fact that under it all there is no compelling message besides 'take selfies, wreck stuff'. The other side has their freedom to fight for and many of them have had years of military training to do just that.

Arabia
Back to business as usual
US Defense Secretary James Mattis is in Saudi Arabia Wednesday to reinvigorate the Riyadh-Washington alliance, with both seeing a common adversary in Iran and its "destabilizing" activities.

The United States and Saudi Arabia have a decades-old relationship based on the exchange of American security for Saudi oil.

But ties between Riyadh and Washington became increasingly frayed during the administration of US President Barack Obama.

Saudi leaders felt Obama was reluctant to get involved in the civil war in Syria and was tilting toward Riyadh's regional rival Iran.
The idea that out of every 10 Muslim terrorists 9, and 99% of "soft Jihad" are supported by Saudi money, just doesn't seem to penetrate Washington.

US: Man screams 'Allahu akbar!' and kills three civilians
A 39-year-old California man opened fire on Tuesday night, killing three people in the center of Fresno, California.

The shooter, Kori Ali Muhammed, had nicknamed himself the "Black Jesus."

Local police report Muhammed yelled, "Allahu akbar!" upon arrest.

According to Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer, Muhammed shot at least sixteen bullets from his gun in less than a minute, aiming at four different targets in the city center.

Dyer also noted that Muhammed shot a hotel security guard elsewhere in the city earlier this week.

"Immediately after noticing the policemen, Muhammed laid on the floor and yelled 'Allahu akbar!'" Dyer reported. "He doesn't like white people, and wants to kill as many as possible before going to jail."

Russia metro bombing suspect says he was unwitting accomplice
[AlAhram] The man Russian Sherlocks say orchestrated a suicide kaboom on the St Petersburg metro told a court on Tuesday he was an unwitting accomplice in the attack.

At a preliminary court hearing, the suspect, Abror Azimov,
...who yesterday was reported carrying a pistol and a package containing two smartphones when he was arrested...
said he had participated in the preparation of the attack, in which 14 people were killed, but only indirectly.

"I did not realise that I was helping with this act," he said, referring to the April 3 blast on the metro. "I was being given instructions."

Earlier, a state investigator told the court that Azimov had confessed to having prepared the attack, but the suspect said he had not confessed to that.
Queerly enough -- or perhaps not queerly at all -- last November we had a report that Russian authorities arrested a ten person ISIS-linked cell of Central Asians planning gun-and-bomb attacks in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Barghouti receives a cold shoulder from Palestinian leadership
[Ynet] the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas is not interested in riling up the region before his scheduled meeting with Trump, and in Ramallah they are convinced that only personal political interests are behind the initiators of the prisoners' protest. Thus, only about half of the Fatah members joined the strike.

The prisoners' hunger strike has only been going on for one day, but it seems that ever since it started, all Fadwa Barghouti, Marwan Barghouti's wife and representative in the outside world, has been doing is trying to explain time and again that her husband's protest is not a whim intended to serve his personal interests.

According to Barghouti's wife, the other prisoners anointed him as the leader of the strike, and her attempt to justify his actions is in response to accusations raised in recent days regarding Barghouti's motives--not only the accusations publicly issued by Israel, but those proclaimed behind closed doors in Ramallah.

The fact is that Barghouti stands nearly alone when she is addressing the Paleostinians, without any leader of repute by her side.

Comments backing up the strike were indeed received from the Paleostinian leadership, but they sounded forced and somewhat general.

Barghouti knows this and therefore demands the strikers have outside support. "The success of the strike depends on the solidarity of the people with my husband," she said.

The strike had been planned for some time, and the scheduled date was not coincidental: It bagon on Paleostinian Prisoners' Day in the West Bank and the Gazoo Strip. This explosive combination could lead to festivities and friction with the security forces, but in practice, the rallies took place in the centers of Paleostinian cities and ended in the same relative calm they had begun.

one of 19 suspects whose names police made public after the Palm Sunday kabooms, the official said.

Two jacket wallahs attacked two churches in the cities of Tanta and Alexandria on April 9, killing 45 people in the deadliest attack on Coptic Christians in recent memory.

Hassan was arrested in the southern province of Qena, from where the two suicide bombers also came.

The interior ministry had raised a reward for information leading to the suspects' arrests to 500,000 pounds ($27,518).

The Palm Sunday bombings followed an earlier attack by a suicide bomber who detonated his explosives in a packed Cairo church in December, killing 29 people.

The Islamic State group, which claimed all three bombings, has threatened more attacks on the minority, which makes up about 10 percent of Egypt's 90 million people.

, in a presser alongside Mashal Khan's father Tuesday, issued a strongly worded condemnation of the 23-year-old's lynching on what has so far proven to be a baseless accusation.

"It has become clear during the investigation that Mashal never committed blasphemy. He was framed in a conspiracy and murdered," Imran Khan said.

"As a father, I can understand what Iqbal Khan [Mashal's father] is going through. This was a cruel deed and they used the blasphemy law as an excuse."

"I want to assure his parents that I will ensure justice for his death," Imran Khan said.

"Whoever planned his murder and whoever participated in it will be punished and made an example of for future generations," the PTI chief said.

"Even if the culprits are found to be from the PTI, they will be punished. We will not discriminate along party lines in pursuing this case," Imran Khan said.

"The entire country saw [what they did]. Even animals don't behave this way," he added.

"We will take this as a lesson and make sure no one ever misuses the blasphemy law again to murder people again," he added.

Senators call for amending blasphemy law
[DAWN] Senators on Monday called for amending the blasphemy law to provide for punishments to those who concoct blasphemy accusations against others and demanded a campaign against those taking the law into their hands.

Condemning the lynching of Mashal Khan, a student of Abdul Wali Khan University in Mardan, politicians stressed the need for effective steps to prevent misuse of the blasphemy law.

Talking about the blatant misuse of the law, PPP’s Farhatullah Babar said a religious scholar had proposed that accusers who levelled false accusations should suffer the same sentence as provided for a blasphemer.

He recalled how a Federal Shariat Court decision had prompted the maximum punishment for blasphemy to be increased from life imprisonment to death, reminding the house that Raja Zafarul Haq -- the current leader of the house -- was the chairman of law and justice committee at the time.

He said the committee had made some suggestions while approving the bill and called for that report to be made the basis of any further action.

"The liquidation of Mashal Khan should make us think about concrete measures to prevent the misuse of the blasphemy law; we need to revisit this law," he remarked.

Syrian Army widens salient around Palmyra after capturing dam in eastern Homs
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) reopened an important flank in eastern Homs on Tuesday, liberating the Abu Kaleh dam area amid festivities with ISIS.

Notably, the advance puts the SAA within striking distance of the abandoned Armored Battalion, a military base still controlled by ISIS not far from the strategic M20 Highway.

Today’s government offensive was a joint operation conducted by the Russian-trained 5th Legion along with elements of the SAA’s 11th and 18th divisions.

Meanwhile,
...back at the Council of Boskone, Kinnison began his slow infiltration of the sewer system...
Russian choppers swarmed the skies over ISIS-held desert areas on the outskirts of Palmyra, constantly conducting sorties in the sparsely populated region.

Although stalling the highly anticipated Deir Ezzor liberation campaign, the SAA has advanced both south and north of Palmyra in recent weeks, systematically targeting weak points in ISIS’ defensive line in a bid to expand the vulnerable salient around the ancient city.

KISIS still playing moldy oldies despite MOAB attack
Residents of eastern Nangarhar province on Tuesday said Daesh radio has continued to broadcast its propaganda in the province and that every evening theradio station airs anti-government programs.

Nangarhar residents said Daesh radio programs are “horrible and disgusting”.

The radio started broadcasting a year ago, but Nangarhar residents said in the past few days all the radio has focused on is the MOAB bomb that was dropped by U.S Forces in Achin district of Nangarhar on Thursday night.

“If the radio broadcasts are not stopped, it will have negative consequences,” said Guli, a Nangarhar resident.

“Daesh radio station broadcast anti-government propaganda and it has a bad effect on the society,” said Ali Jan, another Nangarhar resident.

Security forces have regularly claimed to have targeted the radio station but according to residents the broadcasts continue.

“Although today the youths know the truth and do not listen to Daesh propaganda, but there is still the need to stop the radio station,”said Zabihullah Zmarai, a member of Nangarhar provincial council.

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) meanwhile said security forces are trying to shut down the radio station.

“We have stopped the radio propaganda three times so far, but it once again has started its propaganda from the other side of the border. We are trying to stop the radio station,” Mohammad Radmanesh, MoD deputy spokesman said.

However, sources told TOLOnews that Daesh radio is a mobile unit and the group broadcasts their programs from Mohmand Dara area which was bombed by U.S forces.

Iraq
10 ISIS Bad Guys have a Very Bad Day in Kirkuk
Kirkuk (IraqiNews.com) Ten Islamic State members died when fighter jets from the U.S.-led international coalition pounded their vehicle southwest of Kirkuk, according Kurdish intelligence officials.

Kurdistan’s Counter-Terrorism Department said the strike targeted IS members boarding a vehicle on a road linking al-Riyadh and Hawija, both regions still under Islamic State control.

Those killed included Ammar (Abu Nabil) Hassan, a senior Islamic State leader which the department, however, did not identify in terms of ranking within the extremist group.

Since emerging in 2014 to proclaim a self-styled “Islamic Caliphate”, IS members have held areas in southwestern Kirkuk, where thousands of civilians had to flee the group’s rule to refugee camps in the province and neighboring cities. Local officials have repeatedly urged the government to hasten with security efforts to liberate IS-held regions in Kirkuk, but the Iraqi government is currently employing its full military power in the six-month-old campaign to retake Mosul, IS’s biggest stronghold in Iraq. It is expected that the government will launch further offensives against IS havens across Iraq once the campaign in Mosul concludes.

IS has executed dozens of civilians in Kirkuk for either attempting to flee areas under its control or for collaborating with security forces.

Baghdad Bomb and Bullet Bulletin

1 dead in bombing attack in al-Shoala region

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) One civilian died and four others were wounded on Tuesday when a bomb blast rocked an area northwest of Baghdad, according to police sources.

Alsumaria News quoted the sources saying the explosive device was planted on the side of a road near a popular market in al-Shoala region, northwest of the capital.

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq (UNAMI) has said that violence in the country lef 1115 casualties, excluding security members, during March. Baghdad was the second most affected province with 84 deaths and 246 injuries, according to the organization’s monthly casualty count.

While several blasts are not followed by a claim of responsibility, Islamic State militants said they had been behind some bloody explosions and attacks that hit the capital in the past months, leaving casualties among civilians and security troops.

Syrian rebels capture ISIS radio station in Taqba
[ARA News] The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Tuesday took over the radio station of ISIS in the city of Tabqa in Raqqa province.

“The Syrian Democratic Forces made new progress in the city of Tabqa, taking control of the ISIS radio station,” Jesper Söder, a Swedish volunteer with the Syrian Democratic Forces told ARA News.

“The areas liberated by the SDF are used by civilians who escape the ISIS terrorists. The Syrian Democratic forces cleared all mines laid by Daesh [ISIS] around and in the village of Kabbash, west of Tabqah,” he said.

The SDF fighter told ARA News that Tabqa city could be liberated soon. “Maybe in a few days it is liberated,” he said.

Until now there are still several thousands of civilians stranded in the town of Tabqa amidst continued fighting between ISIS and the SDF forces.

SDF officials said they are trying to open safe corridors to secure the civilians.

In mid March, the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), with their Syrian Arab Coalition fighters, launched a multi-pronged offensive behind enemy lines to liberate the Tabqa Dam from ISIS. Apache helicopters, U.S. Marine artillery and special operation troops were part of this operation to drop SDF fighters near Tabqa city.

“The Coalition supported this offensive with air movement and logistical support, precision airstrikes, Apache helicopters in close air support, Marine artillery, and special operations advice and assistance to SDF leadership,” the US-led coalition said in a statement.

So far, ISIS is still resisting.

“We are advancing in to Tabqa area everyday. But there is really hard resistance from Daesh [ISIS],” SDF member Söder told ARA News.

“So, we thought that the operation for the Raqqa city would start in April, but Daesh have put up a hard fight. I think we should have beaten them in Tabqa already, but they have good positions to defend themselves and even from aircrafts,” Söder said, adding: “A lot of human shields are being used by Daesh [ISIS].”

Retaking Tabqa would enable the SDF forces to storm Raqqa city–the de facto capital of the ISIS self-proclaimed Caliphate.

US plays Whack-a-Mole with Baghdadi in Deir Ezzor
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Dozens of the Islamic State members were either killed or wounded, late on Monday, in the Syrian province of Deir ez-Zour by air strikes conducted by the international coalition aircraft, which are believed to be carried out to target the group’s supreme leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, a Syrian activist said on Tuesday.

The Syrian activist Firas al-Alawi revealed that the international coalition aircraft carried out air strikes on Albu Kamal City, located on the Syrian-Iraqi borders.

The coalition air strikes also targeted al-Ahmar Oil Station in Hasrat town, in the rural area of Albu Kamal, and al-Labed neighborhood in the city of al-Muhasan, Alawi added.

Alawi also pointed out that the international coalition intensified its air strikes on Deir ez-Zour on the background of the news that talked about the escape of the Leader of the Islamic State, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, from Iraq to Syria.

23 die in airstrikes in Deir Ezzor
(Reuters) A war monitor said air strikes, thought to be by planes from a U.S.-led military coalition, killed at least 23 people in two parts of the eastern Syrian province of Deir al-Zor on Monday.

There was no immediate comment from the coalition which has said it tries to avoid civilian deaths in its bombing campaigns against Islamic State militants in Syria and neighboring Iraq.

Jets “believed to belong to the international coalition” struck the town of al-Bukamal in the south of the province near the Iraqi border, killing three militants and 13 civilians including children, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Tuesday.

The Britain-based war monitoring group said air strikes also killed seven civilians in the town of al-Husainiyah further north along the Euphrates river.

Islamic State militants control most of Deir al-Zor province, which links territory they hold in Syria and Iraq, and parts of the provincial capital, which has the same name.

The Syrian government still controls some parts of Deir al-Zor city, including a nearby military air base, where Islamic State has besieged about 200,000 people lacking food and medicine for around two years.

Syrian government forces and their allies, backed by Russian air power, have been fighting back against Islamic State assaults in the area.

FBI Investigating Radical Terrorists in All 57 50 States as Threats Hit Peak
[FREEBEACON] Federal authorities have open investigations into radical Islamic bandidos bully boyz in all 50 states, according to the Department of Homeland Security, which is warning that the threat of terrorism in the United States has reached an all time high with radicalized individuals in the country plotting to strike "each and every single day."

The FBI has "open terrorist investigations in all 50 states," according to DHS Secretary John Kelly, who disclosed on Tuesday that there have been at least 37 "ISIS-linked plots to attack our country" since 2013, a number that shows no signs of diminishing.

Kelly, in his first wide-ranging public address on the threat of terrorism in America since taking office, warned that America's borders remain wide-open and that there is evidence terror-linked individuals are exploiting these national security weaknesses and entering the United States.

"We don’t know their intentions," Kelly said during an address at George Washington University. "We don’t know why they’re here or why they’re coming. We are completely blind to what they’re capable of."

-Signs, Portents, and the Weather-
Harnassing a Tornado for Electricity
Wind energy at its finest. We're not in Kansas, anymore, Toto.
[MNN] In the 1980s, a project in Spain used the sun to warm air near the ground and then funneled up to a turbine to create energy. While solar chimneys have been around for centuries, working on a scale capable of meeting larger power needs would require an incredibly tall chimney. But tornadoes are nature's chimneys in a way, so why build a chimney when you can just make a tornado?

One way to make a big vortex is power plants. Power plants generate a great deal of heat waste already, so why not harness that waste to create a tornado that will turn some turbines?

An AVE would gather up all that heat waste and use it to maintain the vortex. The inventor said this process could "increase output [of the power plant] by 10 to 20 percent, without using any additional fuel." If you're wondering how big this tornado created by a power plant would be, the answer is about 9 miles high. Most tornadoes only clock in about 5.6 miles.
Oh. A man-made 'tornado'.

Iraqi forces shoot down ISIS drone

Rutba (IraqiNews.com) Iraqi army forces in anbar province said Tuesday they downed a drone guided by Islamic State militants at the group-held western area.

Alsumaria News quoted sources from the army’s 1st division saying that a sniper shot down the drone at the town of Rutba (310 km west of Ramadi).

The drone was carrying a camera for reconnaissance purposes, according to the sources.

Islamic State fighters have relied on drones in many attacks that killed a number of civilians and security members since a security campaign was launched against the group in October.

The incident comes hours after paramilitary forces fighting the extremist group alongside the government warned that IS was preparing for a suicide attack on the town.

IS is mobilizing fighters near Rutba, preparing for a suicide offensive against the town, said Qutri al-Obeidi, a commander at the local popular mobilization forces in Anbar.

“Security leaderships had informed the army’s air force command of the activity,” said Obeidi, adding that field commanders were closely monitoring IS’s movements.

Islamic State has maintained control over the towns of Annah, Rawa and Qaim, weswt of Anbar, since the group emerged in 2014 to proclaim a self-styled ‘Islamic Caliphate”.

There has not been an officially-declared military campaign to free IS-held regions west of Anbar, but the province’s military command launched a brief assault early January that managed to recapture some western villages before stopping again. Fighter jets from the Iraqi army and the allied U.S.-led coalition have also regularly pounded IS locations in the province.

Local officials believe Islamic State is holding thousands in those regions to use them as human shields against any future security offensive.

The Iraqi government is expected to aim at IS havens in Anbar once it is finished with eliminating the group from Mosul, its biggest bastion in Iraq.

group.

She told her about 10 days before leaving Hyderabad on Feb 10 that she had links with IS and wanted to "join jihad," said the SSP quoting the girl.

"I can’t share her friend’s name because she may have come under pressure now," Mr Baloch told Dawn on Monday.

Naureen’s friends and teachers at her college and the university disclosed to police that she used to discuss ’jihad’ with them. "She used to draw their attention to the situation in Syria and Afghanistan and urged them that ’we must participate in jihad," he said.

He said that he had disclosed to Naureen’s father, Prof Abdul Jabbar Leghari, that his daughter harboured bully boy tendencies but he rejected it vehemently.

"She used a different name to book a seat on an inter-city bus at its terminal in Latifabad on Feb 9 but gave her own mobile phone number. She boarded the bus to Lahore on Feb 10," he said.

"Mr Jabbar was aware of his daughter’s case but did not want to admit it," claimed the officer.

Mr Jabbar who lodged a case of his daughter’s kidnapping at Hussainabad cop shoppe confirmed at a presser on March 26 that his daughter’s ID on Instagram had been blocked in 2014-15 after she forwarded some messages about atrocities against Paleostinian Moslems.

Two nabbed in Tacurong blasts that wounded 15
[Inquirer] Philippine police nabbed two men in possession of hand grenades minutes after two explosions rocked a gas station in Tacurong City and injured 15 people on Monday night. Police spokesman Raul Supiter said Waren Gani and his brother, Johari, were seen roaming around the site of the explosions carrying hand grenades after the two blasts hit.

An IED first hit the roof of the gas station’s toilet at 6:45 p.m. Bomb experts were about to cordon off the area at 7:10 p.m. when another blast hit the station, injuring nine bystanders, three soldiers and three policemen. A police official described the Tacurong explosions as a "well-planned bombing attack."

The Gani brothers admitted they were members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front and could not explain why they were at the blast scene and why they were carrying explosives. Police found on the suspects' mobile phones photographs of the two carrying firearms and wearing fatigue uniforms, Supiter said.

Supiter said personnel of St. John Learning Center in Barangay New Isabela also reported receiving a bomb threat at 5:50 p.m., barely an hour before the first blast occurred. Police noted text messages circulating in the area before the blasts, warning recipients of bombing plots in key cities in South Cotabato and Sarangani provinces, and General Santos City that would be carried out supposedly by Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters to avenge
the deaths of Abu Sayyaf members in last week’s clashes in Bohol province.

Supiter noted similarities between the bombs used here with those set off in previous regional bombings. Police have been eyeing the possible role played by the BIFF, a breakaway group of the MILF, in the attack.

The blast came two weeks after an improvised bomb was set off in front of the Sultan Kudarat Electric Cooperative office, injuring eight workers.

Berkeley Police Dept: Staging a protest? Want symbolic arrests to lend credibility/gravitas?
HT: InstaPundit

Actual Event Planning Checklist from Berkeley Police Department includes these questions:

o Do you want symbolic arrests?
o If so, where and when?

Nothing like using the taxpayer-funded police department to co-star in your community theater/fake news!

When you are symbolically arrested, is that a tipping situation?

Suspect in Fresno shooting spree that killed 3 shouts 'Allahu Akbar'
[YOURCENTRALVALLEY] Three people are dead
...all of them white men...
in a shooting spree in downtown Fresno on Tuesday, and the suspect was wanted in connection to the Motel 6 killing last week,
...that victim was a white man, too, not at all coincidentally...
the Fresno Police Department said.

Kori Ali Muhammad, 39, shouted "Allahu Akbar" as police tackled him to the ground after the shootings which were spread over four locations, Police Chief Jerry Dyer said.

The victims appeared to be random, Dyer said.

Shot Spotter detected the first gunshots around 10:45 a.m. Muhammad shot into a PG&E vehicle killing the passenger. The driver sped away and drove to Fresno Police headquarters.

Muhammad continued walking and shot up a local resident but missed. Shortly after, he encountered another resident and shot and killed that person.

He then continued to the area of Catholic Charities where he shot and killed a person in the parking lot. Shortly after, he was apprehended without police firing a shot.

"All sixteen of these rounds were fired in less than a minute within four different locations," Dyer said.

Officers responded within one minute of the first shots.

Muhammad used a social media account -- in part -- to perpetuate an anti-white agenda.

Dyer said the men who were killed are believed to have had no connection to Muhammad. Dyer also said it was too early to tell whether terrorism was a factor.
Sudden Jihad Syndrome makes it terrorism, Chief Dyer. The question is whether our miscreant is formally a member of a jihadi organization such as ISIS or a Muslim supremacist organization such as the Muslim Brotherhood or Nation of Islam, or if perhaps he was radicalized by what he saw on the internet.
The Islamic Cultural Center in Fresno released a statement condemning the shootings.
Of course they did.
More from The Daily Mail:
Muhammad, who was born Cory Taylor, is a self-proclaimed rapper who goes by the nickname of 'Black Jesus'. He also goes by the name of B-God Mac Sun, and sells his 12-track album 'True Story Kori' on Amazon.

Muhammad is active on Facebook and Twitter and previously expressed his dislike of white people and anti-government sentiments in social media posts.

His father, Vincent Taylor, told the LA Times on Tuesday that his son believed there was a race was
I think that was supposed to be race war...
going on in America that he was in the midst of, and 'a battle was about to take place'.

'I'm happy he was tossed in the clink
You have the right to remain silent...
,' Taylor said. 'I would hope that whatever Kori tells [police,] they take him seriously and they start following up.'
When good people have bad children. That poor man.
Muhammad's grandmother, Glenestene Taylor, said that he'd been acting strangely when he visited her on Sunday, and that he was crying. However,
a poor excuse is better than no excuse at all...
she said she didn't get the impression that her grandson held hatred towards any race.

'He would say something derogatory about anybody, didn't matter about the color,' she said. 'If he didn't like what they did, he didn't like what they did no matter the color.'

The spree shooter has a length criminal record, including a dismissed felony charge of unlawful firearm possession in 2004.
Known wolf.
He was deemed mentally unfit to stand trial in 2005 after a grand jury indicted him on cocaine and firearm possession. A federal judge later declared him mentally fit in 2006 and he subsequently served 92 months in prison.
Mentally unbalanced known wolf -- he was ripe for the harvest.
Officers on the scene found rounds of 357 caliber bullets, and a speed loader for a revolver, but did not recover a murder weapon when they apprehended Muhammad.

Brian Levin, director of Cal State San Bernardino's Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism, referred to Muhammad as a 'violent black supremacist'.

Sayed Ali Ghazvini, imam of the Islamic Cultural Center of Fresno, said Muhammad was not a member of his congregation and he did not recognize him.
Possibly this is true. Did anyone check with the Nation of Islam people?

Mosul Offensive News

40 die in airstrikes in Mosul

Mosul (IraqiNews.com) Airstrikes by the U.S-led coalition against Islamic State militants in Mosul killed 30 civilians as well as ten militants on Tuesday, according to municipal and security officials.

A strike by coalition fighter jets targeting a moving booby-trapped vehicle in Mosul al-Jadida district killed 30 civilians, according to Ghazwan al-Dawodi, chairman of the Nineveh province’s human rights committee, who spoke in a press statement.

Dawodi said the victims included women and children as the explosion damaged a number of houses packed with residents.

Mosul al-Jadida was the stage of an earlier deadly strike in March which killed more than 200 civilians, an incident which sparked an international outrage that prompted the United States to promise an investigation.

Also on Tuesday, coalition fighters pounded IS locations in al-Thawra, a district where Iraqi forces have been involved in intense fighting with IS over the past week, becoming closer to fully recapturing it.

The Iraqi Joint Operations Command said the strike left more than 10 militants dead, and seriously wounded Salem (Abu Qahtan) al-Othman, a senior member in charge of the group’s so-called “security committees”.

Iraqi forces recaptured eastern Mosul in January, and sat on a new offensive in February to retake the western side of the city.

15 ISIS Turbans die, 31 arrested in western Mosul

Mosul (IraqiNews.com) U.S.-led coalition jets have destroyed an Islamic State workshop for booby-trapping motorbikes, killing the members inside, in western Mosul, Iraqi intelligence service announced.

In a statement on Tuesday, the service said “the international coalition jets fully destroyed a workshop for booby-trapping motorbikes.”

“15 IS members, who inside the workshop, located in al-Islah al-Zeraei district, were killed,” it added.

Iraqi forces, backed by the international coalition jets launch airstrikes against IS headquarters located in the western flank of Mosul on a daily basis leaving members killed and havens destroyed.

Meanwhile, a source from police in Nineveh province declared arresting 31 IS members, including two leaders, while combing districts in central Mosul.

“Troops launched a security campaign in district of central Mosul,” Captain Mounir Hamza told BasNews. “31 IS members, including leaders from Arab countries, were arrested.”

Earlier this month, the Joint Operations Command said IS militants were only in control over 6.8 percent of territory of Iraq and that government troops were controlling 60 percent of the western side of Mosul.

In mid-October, Iraqi troops launched an offensive and gained control over eastern Mosul in January. In February, a new offensive was launched to take the western region.

New video shows Mashal's killers celebrated lynching, pledged to conceal shooter's identity
[DAWN] A new video circulating on Tuesday contains footage of scenes following the Mardan university lynching and shows a man demanding that a group of students take an oath to conceal the identity of the man who shot 23-year-old Mashal Khan.

Mashal, a student of Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan, had been lynched moments before the video was made over allegations of blasphemy.

The video shows the mob involved in the lynching shouting religious slogans and congratulating each other over the brutal episode.

In the video, a man who appears to be the ringleader, Arif, is heard proclaiming that anyone who names the shooter will be considered "a blasphemer".

The following is the text of the slogans being chanted in the video:

"Congratulations, congratulations!

Silence, silence!

Whoever shot him [Mashal], don't take his [the shooter's] name

Whoever takes his [shooter's] name will commit blasphemy. If you want to file an FIR, my name is Arif"

The declaration appears to be a veiled threat to silence those who may testify against the murder and protect the main culprits.

Arif names himself and his father and states that anyone who wished to lodge a First Information Report in the case is free to nominate him for the murder.

According to university students, Arif does not attend Abdul Wali Khan University, but has been allowed on the premises on several occasions. Local media reports say he is the general secretary of the Insaf Student Federation, which is the student wing of the ruling party in KP, Pakistain Tehrik-e-Insaf
...a political party in Pakistan. PTI was founded by former Pakistani cricket captain and philanthropist Imran Khan. The party's slogan is Justice, Humanity and Self Esteem, each of which is open to widely divergent interpretations....
(PTI).

An investigation into the Mardan university lynching has been initiated, but the identity of Mashal's shooter is yet to be determined.

A postmortem report of Mashal's killing states a gunshot wound was the cause of death, but also noted that the body had been subjected to serious trauma.

Meanwhile,
...back at the alley, Slats Chumbaloni was staring into a hole that was just .45 inch in diameter and was less than three feet from his face ...
the administration of Abdul Wali Khan University on Tuesday suspended seven of its employees in connection with the murder of Mashal Khan.

Al-Qaeda faction thwarts first Syrian Army assault on Taibat Al-Imam in rural Hama
[ALMASDARNEWS] Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) retained full control over Taibat al-Imam on Monday as a Syrian Arab Army (SAA) assault earlier in the day proved to be mostly probing attacks which revealed a high number of jihadist bully boyz to be entrenched inside the town ahead of the anticipated government offensive.

Subsequently, commander-in-chief Suheil al-Hassan requested the Russian Air Force to intensify its sorties on the Islamist stronghold as little to no civilians are believed to be inside Taibat al-Imam with most fleeing the volatile battlefield in advance.

Nevertheless, the Tiger Forces ‐ assisted by the 47th and 87th brigade of the SAA’s 11th Division ‐ managed to keep control of the al-Qitban checkpoint that will now be used as a launching pad for renewed assaults on Taibat al-Imam.

One policeman killed, 4 injured in attack on Egypt's St Catherine security checkpoint
[AlAhram] A policeman was killed and four others were maimed at Mount Catherine's security checkpoint late Tuesday in South Sinai after an exchange of fire with unknown holy warriors, Egypt’s ministry of interior said.

According to a statement issued by the ministry, a group of gunnies opened fire on the checkpoint on a road leading up to the Saint Catherine monastery on top of the mountain.

"The police forces exchanged fire with the gunnies until they gained control and forced the gunnies to flee," the statement added.

Egypt’s health ministry front man Khaled Megahed told Ahram Online the four injured coppers were transferred to Sharm El-Sheikh's international hospital. The body of the policeman who was killed was transferred to St. Catherine hospital.

The attack on the security checkpoint near the Saint Catherine monastery, which is one of the oldest Christian monasteries and the main tourist attraction in South Sinai, comes two weeks after the bombings of Orthodox Churches in Alexandria and Tanta killed over 45 people on Palm Sunday.

holy warrior group has grabbed credit for an attack on an Egyptian police checkpoint near the famed Saint Catherine’s Monastery in Sinai late Tuesday which authorities said killed one policeman and maimed four.

The forces of Evil opened fire from an elevated hilltop overlooking the police checkpoint just outside the monastery, which is located in a remote desert and mountainous area in the southern part of the Sinai Peninsula, according to a statement by the Interior Ministry.

After an exchange of gunfire, the attackers expeditiously departed at a goodly pace, the ministry said, adding that some of the gunnies were maimed in the shootout.

No further details were immediately available.

According to SITE Intelligence Group, which tracks online activity of krazed killers, the IS-affiliated Amaq news agency announced that the group’s forces of Evil carried out the attack near Saint Catherine. This is the first time the IS has attacked a monastery.

It comes shortly before a planned visit by the Vatican Pope Francis to Egypt next week.

Afghanistan
What Did I Tell You? Even More MOAB Madness
[Free Range International] Afghan Security Forces (ANSF) have apparently reached the cave complex targeted by last week’s MOAB strike. There are no western (or local) reports from the bomb site but Tolo news (Kabul based Afghan news service) reported with some specificity on the casualties from the attack.

Five days after U.S Forces dropped its most powerful conventional bomb on a system of tunnels and caves used by Daesh in the eastern province of Nangarhar, a security source told TOLOnews that the majority of insurgents killed in blast were members of Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and members of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba militant group.
We had a report the other day that 500 ISI personnel were killed alongside the ISIS fighters... Could these be them?
As with most new ’news’ out of Afghanistan FRI readers already knew this. But here’s something we didn’t know and it’s interesting. ANSF has had the time to identify bodies and nationalities; they found 12 Tajikistanis and 13 Indian nationals and a few Filipinos.

When I was part of Ghost Team we had Filipino’s in every province we were working as financial officers. They were excellent company, honest to a fault and kind, gentle fella’s who were not interested in weapons, war and mayhem. It’s hard to imagine ISIS Filipino’s all the way in Nangarhar province...they just don’t seem to be that kind of culture. I was once with my favorite finance officer on a road trip to Kabul when we rolled up on a hot ambush of then President Karzai’s brother and I thought "excellent get the camera in action...time for a Pulitzer" but this is how it turned out:

From what I'm gathering, what they're finding are remains in what is left of the (likely mainly collapsed) below-ground infrastructure. Most of those should be relatively intact, i.e. nothing scattered due to blast effect.

And - considering intel that indicates these Islamo-snuffy groups are highly organized, the chances that the dead are carrying documentation are greater than your garden-variety jihadi.

Judicial authorities in Kuwait have remanded four relatives of Dhafiri in jug for 21 days pending further inquiries, al-Qabas newspaper reported.

They face similar charges to Dhafiri, the paper added.

Philippine Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre said on Thursday that Dhafiri was suspected of manufacturing explosives and of possible operational planning against Kuwait.

Washington believed he could "pose a threat to the national security of the Philippines," Aguirre added.

A statement issued by the Kuwaiti embassy in Manila on Friday said evidence was obtained by the emirate's security services that Dhafiri was "planning to carry out terroristic attacks in the State of Kuwait."

Kuwaiti courts have handed down multiple convictions on charges of IS membership or financing. Some of the defendants have been found guilty of fighting with the jihadists in Iraq or Syria. All have received lengthy jail sentences.

In June 2015, a Saudi went kaboom! in a Shiite mosque in Kuwait City, killing 26 worshipers in an attack claimed by the Sunni bandidos Lions of Islam that was the deadliest in the emirate's history.

Government
Jeff Sessions: Consent decrees prevent 'proactive policing that keeps our cities safe'
[WASHINGTONEXAMINER] Attorney General Jeff Sessions warned in a late Monday op-ed for USA Today that recent efforts to reform police practices have focused too much on the "small number of police who are bad actors, rather than on criminals."

"[T]oo many people believe the solution is to impose consent decrees that discourage the proactive policing that keeps our cities safe," he wrote.

Sessions has openly criticized consent decrees a means of reforming local and state police departments. This month, he called for a sweeping review of any consent decrees, which are court-binding agreements between the federal government and a police department on how to reform, that were reached before President Trump took office or that are currently being negotiated.

Fifth Column
A new diversity training course teaches college professors another way not to be a racist. They can now allow black students to show up late.

[TheBlackSphere] Colored People Time is what it’s called. Hillary Clinton tried to make fun of the notion that black people run on a different clock than whites. Thus, Clemson University in South Carolina will no longer hold minority students accountable for tardiness. Instead, minorities’ culturally different “perception of time” must be tolerated.

A new faculty training program on “diversity” declares that the expectation of punctuality is racist, and not necessarily a sign of disrespect or nonchalance.

In the training, a fictional scenario features “Alejandro” setting up a meeting between two groups of foreign professors and students. The first arrives 15 minutes early, while the second is 15 minutes late. The late arriving minority is not reprimanded for his blatant disrespect.

Instead, the new normal in wackademia is to be “inclusive” by understanding that time is a culturally fluid concept.

This training essentially grants minorities another privilege – the right to be rude, and ultimately to fail in life.

Nanny State Coddlers
Bosses expect employees to be on time for work or be fired. In fact, others require punctuality as well, like dentists, loan officers, realtors, airlines, and so on. I’d like to see a black person sue an airline for not holding the plane for them. Almost every type of business transaction requires respect for other people’s time, by keeping scheduled appointments. If time had no consequence, then why do we measure it?

Clemson’s training describes perfectly the bigotry of low expectations. Training like this keeps minorities mired in poverty and government dependence. No sense teaching blacks how to perform in the real world.

University administrators now abdicate their place of authority to those who demand it based on nothing other than skin color. Reparations from white America disguised as another privilege based on race.
Elsewhere, the training claims political correctness “lead[s] to better decisions” and “decrease[s] employee turnover.”

What a fiction.
Additionally, if anyone objects to political correctness, Clemson professors are told to publicly correct them.

After all, another slide warns, “freedom of speech and academic freedom are not limitless.”

No longer is the U.S. Constitution respected. Instead, Leftist contradict and mock the Constitution openly.

Neither does the “diversity” training include a diversity of opinions. Because God forbid we teach young people how to debate and reason with political, social, or religious opponents. Our government nanny can’t get votes from independent thinkers, you see.

Another direct quote reads like an Orwellian threat:
“Language that is derogatory with regard to race, sex, or other protected or emerging forms of diversity does not belong in a university that values inclusion.”
Apparently, Leftists add new entitlements based on race as their sickness evolves. The training is not required, but “strongly suggested.”

Nevada Sec. State: DMV Instructed Employees To Register Non-Citizens To Vote
[DAILYCALLER] Nevada’s Secretary of State blamed the Department of Motor Vehicles voter registration process for adding people to the state voter rolls who were not U.S. Citizens.

Nevada Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske told state DMV director, Terri Albertson in a letter Friday evening about her concerns regarding the registrations.

"It has come to our attention that when offering voter registration opportunities to customers, DMV’s employees offer voter registration materials to DMV customers whom they know to be non-citizens based upon their presentation of a Green Card for identification purposes," Cegavske wrote.

"More specifically, it is our understanding that some DMV employees have been instructed to accept registration materials from all customers, including those who present a Green Card for identification purposes...This practice must cease immediately. Please take appropriate actions, as we have reason to believe that non-citizens have unlawfully registered to vote in Nevada as a direct result of DMV’s practices. Moreover, we now have confirmed that some non-citizens illegally cast votes in the 2016 election."

New JMB’s Selim in jail all along as ‘Dakat Khokon’
[Dhaka Tribune] New JMB recruiter Mahbubur Rahman Selim, who has been wanted by police for over a year, is already in Chittagong Central Jail under the alias Mahbubur Rahman Khokon.

Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) chief Deputy Inspector General Banaz Kumar Majumder told the Dhaka Tribune: "We have succeeded in locating Selim, who is in Chittagong Central Jail under the name Khokon. PBI’s Chittagong unit will plea before the court to take Selim in fresh remand, so that more information about New JMB’s finances and organizational structure may be collected."

Selim is the main associate of mid-level New JMB leader and bomb expert Lokman Ali alias Sohel Rana, who went kaboom! along with his wife and five kids at Nasirpur in Moulvibazar during Operation Hit Back on March 30.

According to the Police Bureau of Investigation, Selim was enjugged
Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out!
on October 5, 2015, in a case for his part in a robbery and murder at the Shah Corporation in Chittagong. The crimes in question took place on September 24 the same year.

However,
those who apply themselves too closely to little things often become incapable of great things...
law enforcement agencies have been scouring the country for the notorious myrmidon, who is suspected to be the recruiter for New JMB’s suicide squad.

While Selim was primarily in charge of recruitment for the myrmidon outfit’s suicide brigade, Sohel Rana trained the recruits in a clay house situated in the remote hills of Baishari’s Lombabil Khorolia Mora area of Bandarban, said police sources.

They added that turbans arrested or killed at the recent raids in Ashkona, Sitakunda, Sylhet, Comilla and Moulvibazar were all recruited by Selim and trained by Sohel.

Selim hails from Ichhanagar of the Karnaphuli area in Chittagong. Under order of New JMB Chittagong Coordinator Sohel, he purchased the clay-made house at Baishari for Tk1.60 lakh in 2012.

During the September 2015 robbery, Shah Corporation Manager Satya Gopal Bhowmik was killed along with two of the robbers ‐ Rafiq and Rabiul. Two other robbers, New JMB Chittagong Divisional Commander Raisul Islam Khan alias Fardin and his associate Piyas, were maimed while fleeing the scene as they detonated explosives to cover their retreat.

State Lawmakers Are Looking Into SEIU Vote Fraud
[DAILYSIGNAL] State politicians want Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton’s administration to explain its apparent faith in a politically connected union despite evidence of fraud since the union won an election to represent thousands of residents who care for disabled relatives in their homes.

State Rep. Marion O’Neill, chairman of the Subcommittee on Employee Relations, plans to schedule a hearing to ask the head of Minnesota’s labor relations agency to detail how an affiliate of the Service Employees International Union recruited home caregivers and the state administered the election.

"I want to see how many [ballots] they actually did send out, and I want to see the original receipts for the mailing," O’Neill told The Daily Signal in a phone interview.

"I want to see copies of the returned ballots," she said. "I want to see who signed them and verify that those signatures are authentic, and not fabricated and not forged."

Suspected Boko Haram militants kill five soldiers in NE Nigeria
[AlAhram] Suspected Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
murderous Moslems killed five Nigerian soldiers and injured five others in a raid on a military post in the violence-torn northeast, locals and a military officer said Tuesday.

"Our men were outgunned and outnumbered," said a military officer in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, who asked not to be named because he was not authorised to speak about the incident.

Scores of fighters loyal to the Boko Haram faction headed by Abu Musab al-Barnawi late Monday stormed a checkpoint near Sabon Garin Kimba village about 140 kilometres (90 miles) from Maiduguri, the birthplace of Boko Haram.

"We lost five men in the fight. Five more were maimed," the military officer said.

(IS) murderous Moslem group last year appointed al-Barnawi as head of Boko Haram, replacing long-time leader Abubakar Shekau
... the lunatic leader of Boko Haram who has been reported dead at least eleven times, pledged his body and soul to ISIS, told his fighters to hang it up once or twice, and been fire by the Caliph and refused to step down ...
Mustapha Karimbe, a civilian assisting the military, said the Islamist murderous Moslems took military vehicles and burned three armoured cars along with makeshift sheds at the checkpoint.

"The snuffies attacked the soldiers... and remained in the village for three hours before they withdrew," said Karimbe.

This was the second attack on the same military checkpoint in under a month.

Late last month, Islamist murderous Moslems dressed in Nigerian military uniforms attacked the checkpoint and forced soldiers to withdraw before looting food and medical supplies from the village.

Boko Haram has in recent weeks intensified attacks on military targets in the northeast.

16 die in ISIS attacks in western Mosul

Mosul (IraqiNews.com) 16 civilians were killed on Tuesday in an attack launched by Islamic State on the boundaries of al-Thawra district, in west of Mosul, a military source said.

“An IS suicide bomber, driving a booby-trapped vehicle, attacked the military units of Counter-Terrorism Service in al-Thawra district,” Captain Khedr al-Assadi, of the CTS, told Anadolu Agency.

“Failed to reach his target and besieged, he blew up the car in one of the alleyways,” Assadi added.

“Seven men, five women and four children were killed due to the blast, two houses were destroyed in addition to four cars that were stationed near the explosion,” he added.

“The troops fully controlled the district but had not combed it yet, which delayed the raising of Iraqi flags on its buildings,” according to Assadi.

Lieutenant-General Talib Shaghati, CTS chief, was quoted earlier as saying that “the military troops keep going steadily to liberate the remaining small area of western Mosul in order to declare the city as fully-liberated one. 32 out of a total of 38 districts were combed, in addition to the strategic airport of Mosul and Ghozlani military camp.”

CTS previously announced the troops advance in districts of al-Thawra and al-Tanak.

The densely-populated city of Mosul is the second biggest Iraqi cities. IS gained controlled on it in the summer of 2014. However, Iraqi troops were able to retake the eastern side in January. A new offensive was launched in February to recapture the western part.

Philippine military plans all-Muslim units to tackle insurgency
[AFP] The Philippine military announced plans to create all-Muslim fighting units on Saturday as it looks to bolster efforts to tackle Islamic insurgents. Five percent of all new applications will be allocated for Muslims under the new order, military spokesman Colonel Edgard Arevalo said, adding the eventual goal was to have a dedicated brigade or division to be deployed in the nation's troubled south.

Arevalo said the Muslim quota, which reflects the proportion of the religious minority in the population, would help the army operate in areas where local people have previously viewed it with suspicion. He said, "Most of our Muslim brothers and sisters perceive the deployment of almost 100 percent Christian soldiers in their communities as invading or occupational forces," he said, adding that fellow Muslims would be more aware of religious or cultural sensitivities.

Egypt Interior ministry says 'terrorist' killed, police officer injured in Damietta raid
[AlAhram] A "wanted terrorist" was killed in a shootout on Tuesday morning during a police raid in the northern coastal governorate of Damietta, state-run news agency
...and if you can't believe the state-run news agency who can you believe?...
MENA said, quoting a security source.

The incident occurred when police raided a krazed killer hideout in Kafr Saad village, said MENA, with one police officer injured in the resulting shootout.

The source said that the shootout began when the terrorist fired at coppers as they attempted to arrest him, forcing police to return fire.

Maxine Waters Falsely Denies Calling For Trump’s Impeachment
[DAILYCALLER] Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, Rep. Comrade Maxine Waters is denying ever having called for Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
’s impeachment, a bizarre claim since she was recorded on video just this weekend leading a crowd of activists in an "Impeach 45!" chant.

In an interview on Tuesday with MSNBC’s Craig Melvin, Waters was asked about a tweet she sent out earlier in the day saying that she was going to fight "everyday until [Trump’s] impeached."

Waters said that allegations of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian government need to be investigated.

A longer-term study of opinions and motives might be found in political and economic trends of the former Belgium Congo. But on second thought, I doubt such a study is actually necessary.
