Samantha Powers Unmasked Over 260 Americans During 2016; Soon We'll Learn Why
This filthy Shanty Irish Willem Defoe lookalike is a Deep State whore
[Red State] When U.S. intelligence agencies gather information on foreigners, often the name of a U.S. citizen or entity will be collected. Under current U.S. law, information about innocent citizens gathered in this way is referred to as incidental collection. Their names and data must be masked to protect their privacy.

Authorized government officials, under certain conditions, may "unmask" the identity of an individual.

When John Bolton served at the United Nations, he "unmasked" the identities of three individuals. In the year leading up to the 2016 presidential election, then-U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Powers unmasked over 260 Americans.

On September 20, 2017, Fox News reported that the remarkable number of Americans who had been unmasked at Powers' request "was an attempt to uncover associates of President Trump. She was "unmasking" at such a rapid pace in the final months of the Obama administration that she averaged more than one request for every working day in 2016, even seeking information in the days leading up to President Trump&'s inauguration."

In October 2017, Powers testified before a closed session of the House Intelligence Committee. Then Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) spoke to Fox News' Brett Baier afterward and said:

Her testimony is they [the unmasking requests] may be under my name, but I did not make those requests.

I think if she were on your show, she would say those requests to unmask may have been attributed to her, but they greatly exceed by an exponential factor the requests she actually made...So, that's her testimony, and she was pretty emphatic about it.

So, we've got to get to the bottom of that. If there is someone else making requests on behalf of a principal in the intelligence community, we need to know that because we're getting ready to reauthorize a program that's really important to the country, but also has a masking component to it.

Judicial Watch founder Tom Fitton filed an initial FOIA request for all State Department documents relating to Powers' unmaskings in October 2017, and has been unable to obtain them.

BREAKING: Samantha Power targeted any call made about Israeli settlements for unmasking. When she found Gen Flynn making calls she opposed, she passed information to Sally Yates who opened Logan Act investigation. DNI Coats has now reviewed all unmasking.

BREAKING: White House plans to declassify documents showing that Samantha Power was on a “one-woman crusade” for the Palestinians and against Israel in 2016. Repeated unmakings were used to ensure her effort did not fail."

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Global Elites Started The Russia Nonsense
BLUF:
[Human Events] The great funding pipeline that makes Washington D.C. the wealthiest region in America feeds mostly on military spending which still, nearly thirty years removed from the Cold War, requires a Russian enemy.

Unconventional candidate Donald Trump rattled Washington to its core in March 2016 when he wondered about NATO’s continued relevance and questioned America’s foreign policy in Ukraine.

That’s when this "Putin’s candidate" stuff started among both Republicans and Democrats, egged on by Ukrainians ‐ who almost certainly fed Steele the fake kompromat in the dossier.

Russia may be a convenient boogeyman that serves as a necessary foil to both sides in the Washington establishment. But, for once, let’s fight the real enemy: the global elites who started this nonsense.

Given that Chinese salaries are about 1/8 US salaries and China spends $200b vs the US's $700b, I'm inclined to say that China is effectively spending more than the US in procurement terms. Note all the new ship, aircraft and armored vehicle types that have been coming out of China almost every other year. That's not a sign of a military that is spending less money than the US.

Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka Troops Launch Major Hunt for Islamists Linked to Suicide Attacks
[AnNahar] Sri Lanka's military launched a major hunt Saturday for remnants of an Islamist group which carried out the Easter suicide kabooms that killed 258 people, officials said.

Several Colombo suburbs were targeted by troops using emergency powers on arrests and detentions adopted after the April 21 attacks.

"Special cordon-and-search operations are under way in three areas just outside Colombo," a military official told news hounds.

Similar operations were also carried out in the country's north-west, where anti-Moslem riots this month left one man dead and hundreds of Moslem-owned shops, homes and mosques destroyed.

Security forces have tossed in the calaboose
Book 'im, Mahmoud!
scores of suspects in connection with the bombings and over what appeared to be organised violence against the island's Moslem minority.

While authorities say the immediate jihadist threat has been blunted, President Maithripala Sirisena on Wednesday extended for one month the 30-day state of emergency imposed after the suicide kabooms.

Sirisena said the move was to maintain "public security", with the country still on edge after the attacks on three hotels and three churches that were blamed on a local jihadi group, the National Thowheeth Jama'ath (NTJ).

group has also claimed a role in the attacks.

#4  In India its called 'love jihad'. Fair skinned, soft spoken Pathan boys wooing hindu girls and eloping. What usually follows is the kind of horror you might find in exploitation movies.

Another is 'sex jihad', where the girl is seduced then videotaped and forced to commit. But the 'love jihad' thing is quite well known albeit denied by the liberal media.

There's a rate, as per social strata. snagging a poor christian girl will get you about 1500 in USD. A rich girl, or one from a bureaucrat or business family, especially a hindu brahmin or sikh girl will fetch about 15K $.

After converting the girl and squaring her away behind the layers of community muscle, the sweet young boy moves on to the next target. Often, the mullahs will watch and pay for the nourishment and gym or dance class for a 'young stud' that they find promising, encouraging him to stay in shape , indulge in social mixing and such.

The pattern is such that it is not assailable by any laws, and the parents or elders that try to prevent it or break it off are made pariahs and 'enemies of love' by the diversity loving left and the media.

Heavy fighting in Libyan capital
[AlAhram] Heavy fighting
... as opposed to the more usual name-calling or slapsy...
raged in the Libyan capital on Saturday as Libyan National Army (LNA) made a new push to advance inside the city controlled by the internationally recognized government.

The LNA force lead by Khalifa Haftar
...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all...
, who is allied to a parallel government in the east, started an offensive to take Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
almost two months ago.

The LNA made a new push on Saturday morning, trying to advance on a road from the former airport - located in a southern suburb - towards the centre but there was no sign of progress, residents said.

Fighting had slowed in recent weeks during the holy Moslem month of Ramadan when most people fast during the day until sunset.

The battle for Tripoli has killed at least 510 people, forced 75,000 out of their homes, trapped thousands of migrants colonists in detention centres, and flattened some southern suburbs. It has also forced closures of schools, split families on different sides of the front line, and brought power cuts.

Two ambulance workers were killed and three maimed on Thursday when their ambulance cars were hit, the World Health Organization said. It did not say who was resonsible.

The United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
has been unable to negotiate a ceasefire. La Belle France has, like other European countries, called for a ceasefire but also supported Haftar as a way to fight Islamist murderous Moslems in the country.

On Wednesday, Haftar, meeting French President Emmanuel Macron, ruled out a ceasefire and said he wanted to rid the capital of militias that had "infested" the U.N.-backed government of Premier Fayez al-Serraj, a French presidential official said.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Lebanon Deports Sixteen Syrians
[AnNahar] Leb has "summarily deported" at least 16 Syrians, some of them registered refugees, by forcing them to sign "voluntary repatriation forms," human rights
...which often include carefully measured allowances of freedom at the convenience of the state...
groups said on Friday.

Leb hosts nearly one million Syrian refugees -- a significant burden for a country of four million people -- and there has been mounting pressure for them to go home even though the U.N. says many areas remain unsafe to return to.

The 16 were all removed to Syria on April 26 after they arrived at Beirut airport, Human Rights Watch and four other groups said in a joint report.

Most of them were sent back to Leb after they were barred from entering Cyprus via The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...Qatar's colony in Asia Minor....
, quashing their plans to seek asylum, it said.

At least five were registered with the United Nations
...the Oyster Bay money pit...
refugee agency, it added.

"Lebanese authorities shouldn’t deport anyone to Syria without first allowing them a fair opportunity to argue their case for protection," said HRW's acting Middle East director, Lama Fakih.

The report said around 30 Syrians have been deported from Beirut airport this year by Leb's General Security agency.

The latest deportees said they were "pressured" by General Security officers at the airport into signing documents stating that they were "voluntarily" returning to Syria.

"My biggest fears returning to Syria are that I would be conscripted and have to fight, or that I would be locked away
I ain't sayin' nuttin' widdout me mout'piece!
because the regime has me on a wanted list or because of a case of mistaken identity," the report quoted one of the deportees as saying.

"If I wasn’t scared of arrest, I wouldn’t have left Syria in the first place."

General Security estimates that over 170,000 Syrian refugees returned home from Leb between December 2017 and March 2019.

Despite some returns, the United Nations says the country as a whole remains unsafe for large-scale repatriations.

Malta rescues 216 migrants in upsurge of Mediterranean crossings
This is stupidity squared and cubed, because they know where it leads.
[AlAhram] A Maltese armed forces patrol boat picked up more than 200 migrants colonists from two dinghies in the Mediterranean and was bringing them to Malta on Saturday, a front man said.

At least one pregnant woman and a number of children were believed to be among the 216 rescued migrants colonists. Their nationality was not known.

An AFM front man said a patrol boat had been deployed to a sinking dinghy south of Malta on Friday. After picking up the migrants colonists, it was diverted to a second dinghy while on its way to Malta, picking up those migrants colonists as well.

The armed forces said that with good weather conditions prevailing, departures of migrants colonists from Libya, Tunisia, and Algeria had increased in the past two days, resulting in 12 migrant boats arriving in Sicily, Sardinia, and Lampedusa.

The Libyan coasties said on Friday it had rescued 290 migrants colonists from inflatable rafts near the capital Tripoli

More about ISIS in India and Pakistan
[Jpost] According to the ISIS-affiliated Amaq News Agency, the terror organization on May 11 officially proclaimed the existence of "Waliyah of Hind," or India Province. Shortly afterward, on May 15, ISIS said it had established an additional stronghold called "Wilayah Pakistain."

Amaq claimed that Wilayah Pakistain had already inflicted casualties on Indian army soldiers in the village of Amshipora in the Shopian district of India-administered Kashmire. Indian police confirmed the presence of ISIS fighters in the contested area and noted that security forces recently killed Ishfaq Ahmad Sofi, an alleged ISIS operative in the region.

A recent UN Security Council counter-terrorism report revealed that ISIS has been using Pakistan-based organizations such as Lashkar-i-Jhangvi and Jamaat-ul-Ahrar to carry out terror attacks on its behalf.
According to local media reports, Sofi had been associated for more than a decade with several gangs in Kashmire before joining Islamic State

They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
The establishment of Wilayah Pakistain sent shock waves through local law enforcement agencies, and on May 16, Islamabad’s security forces raided suspected terrorist locales in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan

Province. The forces killed nine ISIS members during a three-hour long operation, a spokesperson for the chief of the Balochistan police told the Media Line. Four Paks maimed during the assault were rushed to a hospital.

Though this was the first direct face-off between Pak forces and ISIS, the latter has been carrying out attacks in Pakistain for years. As far back as February 2016, Pakistain's Intelligence Bureau had warned the government that ISIS was emerging as a threat.

Concern over the extent of ISIS's power resurfaced a year later following a suicide kaboom at the Shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar ‐ located in Pakistain's historic city of Sehwan ‐ which killed scores of people and injured some 300 others.

A recent UN Security Council counter-terrorism report revealed that ISIS has been using Pakistain-based organizations such as Lashkar-e-Jhangvi
... a 'more violent' offshoot of Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistain. LeJ's purpose in life is to murder anyone who's not of utmost religious purity, starting with Shiites but including Brelvis, Ahmadis, Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Rosicrucians, and just about anyone else you can think of. Analysts believe that ISIS is desperate to establish new strongholds, including in Afghanistan, where it has repeatedly clashed with the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
"ISIS has been looking for new ventures after it was defeated in Iraq and Syria. Even in Afghanistan, things are not in ISIS’s favor," Rashid Hussain, a Rawalpindi-based security expert, told The Media Line. "It is now trying its luck in Pakistain, India and Sri Lanka, where it already has been outsourcing attacks."

Alarmed by ISIS's growing influence in the region, Pakistain and Russia are working together to curb the group’s activities.

"Since ISIS has challenged both nations... Islamabad and Moscow are working together to counter the group," a bigwig in Pakistain’s Counter-Terrorism Department told The Media Line on condition of anonymity.

The official said the two countries have been cooperating since 2016, adding that a "major shift in Russia’s policy... [came] after it expressed concerns about the possibility of Afghanistan turning into a refuge for Islamic State murderous Moslems fleeing from Iraq and Syria. This is why it has extended [assistance] to Pakistain and the Taliban."

Palestinian Authorities Thwarted An ISIS Terror Attack In Israel - Report
[Jpost] Alaa Bashir is a 23-years-old Paleostinian woman from a village near Kalkilya, who joined ISIS through "Telegram" and was planning to execute a terror attack in Israel, but was tossed in the calaboose
Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit!
by Paleostinian authorities beforehand for "attempting to shake regional stability," Ynet reported on Sunday.

According to the exclusive report by a Paleostinian official to Ynet, Bashir joined ISIS who then taught her through manuals sent through the internet, how to assemble large bombs, which she could strap to herself and commit a suicide terror attack in the heart of Israeli territory.

Public campaigns to free Bashir forced the Paleostinian authorities to publish an announcement explaining that Bashir was arrested for "attempting to shake regional stability" and now the details become clearer.

Bashir had expressed her support of al-Qaeda in the past before joining ISIS, the report claims. The report also states that prior to her arrest, Bashir suffered from harsh social problems, which pushed her to the decision to end her life in a terror attack.

Bashir's arrest is not the first time that Paleostinian authorities thwart planned terror attacks against Israel, as earlier reports claim that the authorities cleared roads from bombs and arrested murderous Moslems who planned attacks in Israel.
Interesting details from Ynet at 8:30 p.m.:
The suspect is Alaa Bashir, 23, a Koran teacher from the town of Jinsafut in the northern West Bank.

According to the source, Bashir was associated in the past with murderous Moslem Salafi organizations.

The suspect is a niece of an intelligence officer in the PA, a detail causing some embarrassment for those involved.

Europe
French police pursue manhunt after Lyon attack
[IsraelTimes] French police were on Saturday pulling out all the stops to locate a suspect following a blast in the heart of Lyon that maimed 13 people.

"All means have been activated to identify and detain the person who committed this act," Gay Paree prosecutor Remy Heitz told media in Lyon, the third-biggest French city.

Heitz said an investigation has been opened for "attempted murder in relation with a terrorist undertaking" and "criminal terrorist association."

French Justice Minister Nicole Belloubet said, however, that it was too soon to say whether the blast could be termed a "terrorist act."

Heitz said no group has grabbed credit for the kaboom yet. The number of maimed stood at 13 ‐ eight women, a 10-year-old girl and four men ‐ of which 11 needed hospital treatment. None of their injuries were life-threatening.

President Emmanuel Macron initially called the Friday evening kaboom an "attack" but later took a more cautious tone with a tweet that condemned "the violence that has struck" the city’s residents.

The blast, which sources said might have used acetone peroxide, occurred two days ahead of hotly contested European Parliament elections and while La Belle France remains on edge owing to terrorist attacks which have rocked the country in recent years.

Heitz described video surveillance that showed the suspect heading toward the center of Lyon on a bike Friday afternoon. The man was seen arriving on foot, pushing his bike along the pedestrian-only Victor Hugo Street, then leaving a paper bag in front of a bakery in the historic city center at around 5:30 pm local time.

The suspect immediately returned to his bike and left on the same path. One minute later, the kaboom shattered the glass of a refrigerator in the bakery, Heitz said.

Investigators at the scene found screws, metallic balls, batteries, a triggering device that can be used remotely and plastic pieces that may have come from the bomb.

Police issued an appeal for witnesses Saturday with a photo of the suspect from video surveillance. They described the man as "dangerous."

An image of the suspect, wearing light-colored shorts and a long-sleeved dark top, was posted. His face was partially covered by a khaki cap and sunglasses.

Sources close to the investigation suspected the explosive was acetone peroxide, or APEX, a volatile compound used in Gay Paree attacks on November 13, 2015.

They added that traces of DNA was recovered from the sack that held the explosive, but warned they did not necessarily belong to the suspect.

Local authorities said security was enhanced in Lyon, including with more police and military patrols.

District mayor Denis Broliquier said "the charge was too small to kill," and an administrative source told AFP it was a "relatively weak explosive charge."

Sudan military council chief visits Egypt
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The head of Sudan’s ruling military council arrived in Cairo on Saturday, an airport official said, the general’s first foreign trip since taking power after the April ouster of president Omar al-Bashir
Head of the National Congress Party. He came to power in 1989 when he, as a brigadier in the Sudanese army, led a group of officers in a bloodless military coup that ousted the government of Prime Minister Sadiq al-Mahdi and eventually appointed himself president-for-life. He has fallen out with his Islamic mentor, Hasan al-Turabi, tried to impose shariah on the Christian and animist south, resulting in its secessesion, and attempted to Arabize Darfur by unleashing the barbaric Janjaweed on it. Sudan's potential prosperity has been pissed away in warfare that has left as many as 400,000 people dead and 2.5 million displaced. Omar has been indicted for genocide by the International Criminal Court but nothing is expected to come of it.
General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan’s visit to Egypt comes after Sudanese protest leaders announced a two-day strike from Tuesday as talks with the military over installing civilian rule remain suspended.

The umbrella protest movement is at odds with the generals over whether the transitional body to rule Sudan should be headed by a military or civilian figure.

Egypt, whose President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi currently chairs the African Union

, backs Sudan’s military council and has urged African nations to allow it "more time" for a handover to civilian rule.

Iran can sink US warships with ‘secret weapon’: Iranian commander
[ALMASDARNEWS] Iran has signaled its readiness to use its "secret" weaponry in order to sink US warships which were earlier delivered to the Persian Gulf region.

"America [...] is sending two warships to the region. If they commit the slightest stupidity, we will send these ships to the bottom of the sea along with their crew and planes using two missiles or two new secret weapons," General Morteza Qorbani, an adviser to Iran’s military command, told the semi-official Iranian news agency Mizan.

The statement comes amid mounting US-Iran tensions which exacerbated earlier this month, when the US imposed more anti-Iran sanctions and sent an aircraft carrier strike group, a squadron of B-52 bombers and a battery of Patriot missiles to the Middle East.

Iran, for its part, suspended some of its obligations under the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

, urging him against instigating a war with the Islamic Theocratic Republic.

"A war with Iran, either by choice or miscalculation, would produce dramatic repercussions in the already-destabilized Middle East and drag the United States into another armed conflict at immense financial, human, and geopolitical cost," the letter reads.

The letter comes after Trump said that Washington would deploy some 1,500 additional troops to the Middle East. The US President, however, said earlier that Washington hoped that the situation would not come to war.

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, for his part, underscored that Tehran does not intend to wage war with the US, but will continue to resist Washington.

6 detained for interrogation in Farishta murder case
[DAWN] Islamabad police have detained six people for questioning in connection with the Farishta kidnapping and murder case, a progress report of the investigation revealed.

According to the report, a copy of which is available with DawnNewsTV, police have so far interrogated 50 "relevant people" during the probe.

After the geofencing of the area, police also obtained data of 793,884 different mobile phone numbers that were active in the vicinity of the scene of the crimes around the time of the murder. So far, 1,587 numbers have been shortlisted as "suspicious", the report said, adding that the police are conducting analysis of remaining data.

Further evidence collected from the scene of the crime has been secured and will be sent to the Punjab

2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

Forensic Science Agency for analysis.

Two special investigation teams (SIT) have been constituted by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Islamabad, Amir Zulfiqar, in order to investigate the matter.

The case of 10-year-old Farishta's alleged murder came to light last week after her family members protested against the police in Islamabad, and activists and politicians highlighted it on social media. According to Farishta's father Ghulam Nabi, he had lodged a missing person's report a day after his daughter disappeared on May 15 as he feared that she had been kidnapped.

He alleged that instead of filing a first information report (FIR) and trying to recover Farishta, the station house officer told them she must have run away with someone. He also accused the Shahzad Town cop shoppe's personnel of making him clean the station.

Meanwhile,
...back at the Hubba Hubba Club, Nunzio wondered: Where the hell was Chumbaloni? And where was his $600?...
a four-day-old body recovered on Monday evening (May 20) was identified as that of Farishta by her father, who recognised her by her clothes. Police said samples taken from the body and the site where Farishta was found are being tested to ascertain whether she was subjected to gang rape and torture, as alleged by the family.

A case has also been registered against the police officials of Shahzad Town cop shoppe for negligence.

Iraq
Twin explosions kill 5, wound 2 in Saladin: officials
[Rudaw] At least five people were killed and two maimed in two separate kabooms in Sharqat, Saladin province over the weekend, officials confirmed. The Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group (ISIS) has claimed both attacks.

The first blast struck on Friday when "five farmers went out to harvest their wheat and barley crops in their fields on the road that leads to djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
, about 25 kilometre away from Shargat", Saad Dhahir al-Qaisi, deputy governor of Saladin, told Rudaw Saturday.

He blamed the attacks on ISIS remnants in the region, which also "burned the farmers’ combine harvesters".

In a video statement posted on Facebook, Ali al-Duduh, the mayor of Sharqat, also confirmed the death of four farmers and the injury of one other, and the burning of agricultural equipment.

This was followed on Saturday when suspected ISIS bully boyz in Shwish "targeted a vehicle which belonged to Hashd al-Ashayiri’s 51th Brigade, resulting in the death of one and injury of another", al-Qaisi said.

The incident occurred on the main Mosul road between al-Siniya and Hadathya, the deputy governor added.

In a post on messaging app Telegram, ISIS claimed it had killed five Hashd fighters in the twin attacks.

The Sunni tribal forces known as Hashd al-Ahsairi are mostly found in Anbar, Nineveh, and Saladin provinces. They technically fall under the command of the primarily Shiite Hashd al-Shaabi and are part of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF).

"The security situation of Saladin is not stable and we call on relevant authorities to provide security to farmers," al-Qaisi said.

He criticized the Iraqi armed forces for their inaction and for not responding.

ISIS has grabbed credit for several of the recent farmland fires across the country.

Within the span of one week, more than 600 dunams of wheat crop in Khanaqin, Qaratapa, Jabara and the plains of Qamishalan have been burned in the disputed or Kurdistani areas claimed by both Erbil and Baghdad in Iraq’s Diyala province.

The Iraqi News take in events:
Bomb blasts, IS attack leave 7 dead in Sharqat

Salahuddin (IraqiNews) Two bombs exploded, while the Islamic State group launched an offensive, yesterday, on Sharqat District in Salahuddin. The blasts and attack killed 7 persons, while injured 4 others in different areas of the District.

Saad al-Qaissy, Governor Assistant said, “Five farmers went to harvest wheat and barley on the road leading to Mosul (about 25 kilometers from Sharqat).”

“IS militants intercepted the farmers and killed them immediately, then burned the harvest that was in their possession,” al-Qaissy added.

Meanwhile, a bomb exploded targeting a vehicle belonging to al-Hash al-Ashaeri in Shawesh Village. The explosion killed a person and wounded another one.

Another IED exploded near a police patrol, in the road between Sineya and Haditha, killing a police officer and injuring 3 others.

Baltimore political leaders seek briefings after report that NSA tool was used in ransomware attack
[BALTIMORESUN] U.S. Sen. Chris Van Hollen and Rep. C. A. Dutch Ruppersberger are seeking briefings from the National Security Agency after a report that a spying tool developed by the agency and then leaked online was used to spread the ransomware that has debilitated Baltimore’s computer systems.

And Council President Brandon Scott said the federal government should step in to cover some of the cost of Baltimore’s recovery.
BLUF, hmmmm? $$$
The New York Times

...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

reported Saturday that hackers used a tool known as EternalBlue to spread the ransomware through the city’s systems. The Times cited anonymous security experts briefed on the case.

Ruppersberger, a Democrat whose district includes part of Baltimore, has previously raised concerns about the dangers posed by EternalBlue and other leaked tools ‐ part of a huge cache posted online in 2017 by a group calling itself the Shadow Brokers ‐ and says more needs to be done to counter them.

"If recent media reports regarding the origins of the Baltimore ransomware attack are true, the congressman’s concerns are further validated," said Jaime Lennon, a spokeswoman for Ruppersberger. "We will be seeking a full briefing from NSA regarding these reports."

While the tools have been widely linked to the U.S. spy agency, and experts and former babus government employees have said they appear to be authentic, U.S. officials have never acknowledged the connection.

Van Hollen, a Democrat, said in a statement that he had been in contact Saturday with Sen. Mark Warner of Virginia, the party’s top member on the Senate Intelligence Committee, and that they would seek a briefing from the NSA.

"We must ensure that the tools developed by our agencies do not make their way into the hands of bad actors," Van Hollen said.

Scott said he was calling on Gov. Larry Hogan to ask the White House for the ransomware attack to be declared a federal emergency, which would unlock funding.
graft and boodle await!
"Given the new information and circumstances its even more clear that the federal government needs to have a larger role in supporting the City’s recovery, including federal reimbursement for damages," Scott said.

"The fact that the root technology that enabled this attack came from our own federal government, just miles away, only adds insult to injury."

Lester Davis, a front man for Bernard C. "Jack" Young, said the Democratic mayor supported Ruppersberger’s efforts to glean more information.

"The information that was included in the Times story was very troubling," Davis said.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iranian FM Zarif in Baghdad amid tensions with US
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Iraq’s parliament speaker said on Saturday that Baghdad is ready to mediate between the United States and Iran if it is asked to do so.

Mohamad Halbousi’s comments, carried by state TV, came shortly after Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif arrived in Baghdad beginning a two-day visit.

Tension between the US and Iran have escalated ever since the Trump administration withdrew last year from the 2015 nuclear deal between the Islamic Theocratic Republic and world powers and reinstated American sanctions that have badly damaged the Iranian economy.

President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
has argued that the nuclear deal failed to sufficiently curb Iran’s ability to develop nuclear weapons or halt its support for militias throughout the Middle East that the US argues destabilize the region.

"We are ready to mediate to solve the crisis between Washington and Tehran if we are asked for that," al-Halbousi, whose country has close ties with both Washington and Tehran, said. He added that there has been "no official request for such mediation."

Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mehdi said earlier this week that Iraq will send delegations to the US and Iran to help end tensions between the two countries, adding that Baghdad is neutral in the conflict.

On May 19, a rocket was fired into Baghdad’s heavily fortified Green Zone, landing less than a mile from the sprawling US Embassy.

There were no injuries and no group grabbed credit, but the rocket was believed to have been fired from east Baghdad - which is home to Iran-backed Shiite militias.

During his visit to Baghdad, Zarif will meet his Iraqi counterpart Mohammed al-Hakim, Iraqi President Barham Salih, and Abdul-Mehdi, according to Iran’s state news agency.

Iraq’s Foreign Ministry front man Ahmad Sahhaf said Zarif will discuss the situation in the region and ways of finding common ground.

Iraq
Senior Peshmerga official warns of PMF excesses in Diyala
[Rudaw] "They raid Kurdish homes every night, burn their wheat and barley farms, blow up their cars, and plant bombs in their farms so they flee the place," Mahmoud Sangawi, the head of Diyala Peshmerga front told Rudaw. "This round of Arabization has started in a different way and with a different strategy. It is the Hashd al-Shaabi who is responsible for this," Sangawi claimed, referring to the PMF by its Arabic name.
Said Ali Husseini, head of PMF relations in northern Iraq, rejected the allegations and told Rudaw English on Saturday that the Peshmerga commander's comments regarding recent incidents are "unfortunate" and said the PMF enjoy good relations with the Peshmerga forces.

Sangawi who led the Peshmerga forces against the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) for three years in Diyala province, known as Garmaser in Kurdish, accuses several groups within PMF of acting on their own accord, in flagrance of the central orders of Prime Minister Abdul-Mahdi or President Barham Salih.

"The Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq listens neither to Adil Abdul-Mahdi nor the president of the republic or any other authority," Sangawi said naming other groups such as Badr Organization and Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba of acting in the same way with no regard for central government authority.

Tensions between Kurds and Arabs in the disputed areas in Kirkuk,
... a thick stew of Arabs, Turkmen, Kurds, and probably Antarcticans, all of them mutually hostile most of the time...
Diyala and Salahaddin provinces have flared since October 2017 when the Kurdish Peshmerga forces retreated from these areas in the aftermath of the Kurdistan referendum for independence. The tension has created a security void that has allowed surviving elements of the Islamic State to attack both Kurdish and Arab villages in the area.

"There is a security vacuum in the town, which has paved the way for faceless myrmidons to burn peoples’ crops," Mohammed Mala Hasan, the mayor of the town of Khanaqin in Diyala province, told Rudaw English on May 18.

"In the past, we thought if the Shiites, who were oppressed like us, assume power, they would listen to us and coexist with us... Instead, they came and created hell for the Kurds," Sangawi said on Thursday. "They destroyed everywhere starting from Jalawla up to Khanaqin and Peshmerga territory."

The PMF spokesperson in the North says the PMF enjoys good relations with Peshmerga forces, bringing up the example of a meeting held with Peshmerga three days ago in the east of Tuz Khurmatu. "We said we are ready to cooperate with Peshmerga [to combat ISIS in these areas] ... This proves that our relations with Peshmerga are good," he said, while admitting that there could be "individual" cases of criminal action by Hashd members "which do not represent Hashd."

Despite Western-backed response, Sahel jihadists gaining ground
[PULSE.NG] Areas of insecurity on the Sahara's poor, arid southern rim are widening, analysts say, even as the so-called G5 Sahel group -- Burkina Faso
...The country in west Africa that they put where Upper Volta used to be. Its capital is Oogadooga, or something like that. Its president is currently Blaise Compaoré, who took office in 1987 and will leave office feet first, one way or the other...
, Chad, Mali, Mauritania and Niger -- seek to expand their anti-terror campaign.

"Overall, the security situation in the Sahel continued to deteriorate, having spillover effects on neighbouring countries that are not members of G5 Sahel, including Benin, Cote d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) and Togo," United Nations
...aka the Oyster Bay Chowder and Marching Society...
Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said this month.

Guterres said in recent months, gangs had been sighted on Mauritania's border with Mali, attacks on security forces had continued unabated in Mali itself, "terrorist groups, militias and armed gangs" had proliferated in Burkina, and jihadists had killed dozens of soldiers and civilians in Niger.

At the end of last year more than 120,000 people had been displaced in Mali, a tripling in the space of a year, while 160,000 have fled their homes in Burkina.

According to a French military source, there are about 2,000 fighters across the Sahel, of which up to 1,400 are in Mali.

Their hallmark tactics -- brutal gun attacks, roadside kaboomings and hostage taking -- seek to weaken the rule of law and authority of the state, often fomenting intercommunal fighting on which they capitalise.

Families demand answers after 29 inmates die in Venezuela jail riot
[BREITBART] Wracked with pain and anger, dozens of families gathered in front of a morgue in the Venezuelan town of Acarigua on Saturday after 29 inmates died in rioting at a cop shoppe jail.

"It seemed there was a massacre of these children in the cop shoppe," 50-year-old Zuleyma Ponte told AFP.

"My son was killed. Whose fault is it? It’s the lack of supervision, the lack of serious government," he said.

The deaths came after police special forces intervened Friday to stop a "massive prison break," according to Oscar Valero, public security secretary for Portuguesa state.

The prisoners received the officers with "a hail of gunfire" while detonating three grenades that maimed 19 police, Valero told news hounds.

As the clash raged, family members near the station said they heard detainees shouting, "Don’t let us die."

"What we are asking for is, please, just give us our boys. They’re not coming back, so give their bodies to their families and investigate those responsible," said Aliris Perez, a 34-year-old teacher whose 24-year-old brother died in the violence.

Perez, who was close to the station when the riot occurred, said he heard several kabooms as "many authorities" arrived at the site.

Carlos Nieto, the head of a prisoner rights NGO, said the festivities broke out when special forces attempted to rescue visitors who had been taken hostage Thursday by the leader of the inmates.

Syrian journalist, family assaulted by Turkish border guards
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Syrian journalist Mazen al-Shami has sustained bruises and injuries after he and two other male relatives were assaulted by Ottoman Turkish officers at the border with Syria.

Al-Shami shared photos on Facebook and posted a video on YouTube about the incident, both of which were widely shared among Syrian activists.

Al-Shami, who is known for his opposition to the Syrian regime, posted pictures of himself and other family members with bruises and injuries sustained during the encounter at the border with the Ottoman Turkish officer.

He wrote: "After nine years of the revolution that’s how I and my family are treated. Thanks to all the revolution officials at home and abroad. A Ottoman Turkish officer tortured me in front of my family and tortured my children on the Syrian-Ottoman Turkish border. That was his reaction when he came to know that I was a Syrian journalist."

The Association of Syrian Journalists, which represents journalists opposed to the Bashir al-Assad regime, quoted al-Shami as saying that the Syrian "opposition did not respond to al-Shami’s request to help him enter The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund....
in order to be treated."

The Association added that al-Shami and his family members were beaten and tortured and were forced to remove grass in a farm near the border after the border guards shaved off their heads. They were later deported back to the Syrian territory through the Bab al-Hawa crossing with Turkey.

Jihadist capture of Kafr Naboudeh proves incredibly costly as death toll is estimated over 120
[ALMASDARNEWS] The jihadist rebels scored an important advance in the northwestern countryside of the Hama Governorate this week, as their forces managed to retake the key town of Kafr Naboudeh from the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).

However,
a clean conscience makes a soft pillow...
this advance by the jihadists of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham
and the Ottoman Turkish-backed rebels would prove incredibly costly as their forces lost well over 100 fighters in 72 hours.

According to a military source in the Hama Governorate, the jihadists and their Ottoman Turkish-backed rebel allies lost an estimated 120-150 fighters, with the majority of them being Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham bully boys.
"A glorious victory, King Pyrrhus!"
The pro-opposition Syrian Observatory of Human Rights (SOHR) admitted greater losses for the jihadist rebels. The SOHR claimed that over 215 bandidos forces of Evil were killed during this offensive.

The reason for the high corpse count for the bully boy groups was likely due to their style of attack during the battle. Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham would send wave after wave of fighters towards the Syrian Army’s defenses in a bid to overwhelm their forces. Eventually, they were able to break the Syrian Army’s lines, but not before losing many fighters in the process.

The Syrian Army also suffered heavy casualties during the attack, but their losses in comparison are half of what was reported for the jihadist groups. Most of the Syrian Army’s losses came during Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham’s first assault on Kafr Naboudeh. While they managed to repel the first attack, their defenses had already been fractured by the jihadists; this resulted in the fall of Kafr Naboudeh later in the day.

Putin’s rumored ex-gymnast lover reportedly gave birth to twin boys
[NYPOST] Russian President Vladimir Putin’s reputed lover may have given birth to twin boys.
"and a tiger cub"
But like many things in Putin’s Moscow, the facts are shrouded in mystery.

Alina Kabaeva, an Olympic gold-medal-winning rhythmic gymnast, has long been rumored to be in a relationship with Putin. Russian media mostly shies away from the topic. Still, Moscow is buzzing with rumors that Kabaeva is the reason why a whole floor of the Kulakov Research Centre for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology was shut down this month.

A Russian newspaper briefly ran a story about the birth, but it was eventually taken down, according to the Daily Mail. An investigative journalist whom the Daily Mail described as close to Russian intelligence also claimed Kabaeva gave birth to two boys.

Putin has two adult children with ex-wife Lyudmila Shkrebneva.

Hezbollah warns US plan could naturalise Palestinian diaspora
[PULSE.NG] Speaking days after the US announced a May conference in Bahrain to lay out economic aspects of its long-awaited Israeli-Paleostinian peace plan, Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah warned of an "ominous deal aimed at eliminating the Paleostinian cause".
How terribly perspicacious of him. This man sees deeper into a stone than most.
He said the conference's focus on economic issues "may open the door wide open to the question of naturalising the Paleostinian brothers in Leb and the countries where they are located".
It should have happened generations ago, just like Israel did for the same number of Jews expelled from the Muslim world after 1948.
The right of return for more than 700,000 refugees who were expelled or fled during the creation of the State of Israel in the late 1940s -- and their millions of descendants -- is a key pillar of the Paleostinian cause.

The vast majority cling tightly to hopes, enshrined in a key UN Security Council resolution, of returning to lands their families once owned but which are now inside Israel.

An estimated 174,000 Paleostinian refugees live in Leb, according to a census by national authorities in 2017.

The UN estimates there are tens of thousands more.

Hezbollah has long championed the Paleostinian cause, but the Paleostinian presence is controversial in Leb, where many blame them for causing the bitter civil war that ravaged the country between 1975 and 1990.

Leb's Paleostinian camps suffer poverty, overcrowding, unemployment, poor and dangerous housing conditions and a lack of infrastructure.

Today, "it's not enough to say we're all against naturalisation -- the danger of naturalisation is approaching," Nasrallah said during a televised address marking the 19th anniversary of Israel's withdrawal from southern Leb.

Stray Cartel Gunfire Kills 11-Yr-Old Boy in Cancun, Says Family
[BREITBART] Stray gunfire from cartel button men in the Mexican resort of Cancún struck and killed an 11-year old child. The stray round came from cartel button men who had opened fire on an adult male target. Officials transported the child to a local clinic where he died several hours later.

The cartel attack occurred Wednesday night at approximately 7:30 p.m. when two cartel button men opened fire on an adult male as he walked along the street in the Supermanzana 72 section of Cancún, The incident occurred near the intersection of La Torcasita and Avenida Miguel Hidalgo. The gunfire left the adult male, later identified as Ricardo R. Q., 26, maimed from at least two gunshots. A stray round from the attack struck an 11-year-old child as he walked on the street with a family member.

The child later, identified as Kalet Gustavo P C, was rushed to a local clinic "Clínica del Seguro Social de la Avenida Cobá." The child died from his wounds approximately four hours later according to the stepfather of the child and reported by local media. The intended adult male target of the cartel hit is expected to recover from his gunshot wounds. This cartel hit occurred in a local neighborhood of Cancún which is located within the Benito Juárez municipality approximately eight miles from the popular hotel tourist zone.

Breitbart News reports extensively on the cartel violence in once peaceful beach resort of Cancún. In 2018, the traditional tourist magnet smashed its previous annual record for murders with at least 546 ‐ nearly doubling the previous mark of 227 in 2017.

The ongoing violence is attributed to the pie fights between the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generacion, Los Zetas, Gulf, and smaller groups loyal to the Sinaloa Cartel. In April is this year, Breitbart News reported on a similar incident in which a local 6-year-old was killed in Cancún after being struck by stay cartel gunfire. The child was preparing to enter her house with her parents when the gunfire took her life. An unidentified male who was the intended target died at the scene after two cartel button men riding on a cycle of violence opened fire on the unidentified male who was walking along the road in colonia Supermanzana 75.

Cancun is becoming a problem the Mex govt can't ignore. Now, the battle has moved to major tourist areas. Shootouts there become international news and that scares the tourists and their money.

-Land of the Free
Obama's Spying On The Press Was Far More Extensive Than Previously Thought
[Issues&Insights] President Trump might be openly hostile to the mainstream media, but it was the Obama administration that was engaged in a widespread effort to thwart the media. Which do you think is more harmful to a free press?

The full extent of Obama’s actions against the press are only now coming to light.

The Columbia Journalism Review reports on a newly released government document showing that the Obama Justice Department engaged in a far more sweeping effort to spy on the Associated Press than previously believed.

“In 2013, the Justice Department launched a brazen attack on press freedom,” the CJR notes, “issuing sweeping subpoenas for the phone records of The Associated Press and several of its reporters and editors as part of a leak investigation. At the time, the subpoenas were widely seen as a massive intrusion into newsgathering operations. Last month, we learned that they told only part of the story.”

The spying came in the wake of the AP’s reporting on a thwarted Yemen-based bomb plot, which contained classified information about the CIA operation. Months later, the AP learned that the DOJ had vacuumed up two-months of phone records on 21 different lines trying to find the leaker.

Indonesia lifts social media curbs targeting hoaxes during unrest
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Indonesia on Saturday lifted temporary social media restrictions that were imposed to stop online hoaxes during an eruption of violence around the announcement of official election results.

Communications Ministry official Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan told a news conference that social media had returned to normal.

The restrictions came into force on Wednesday after rioting broke out in the Indonesian capital following protests against the victory of President Joko Widodo in last month’s election.

Eight people were killed and more than 900 hurt when rallies by supporters of defeated presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto descended into violence with police firing tear gas and rubber bullets as well as using water canon to quell unrest.
Eight people were killed and more than 900 hurt when rallies by supporters of defeated presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto descended into violence with police firing tear gas and rubber bullets as well as using water canon to quell unrest.

Retired general Prabowo has alleged the election was rigged.

The election supervisory agency has said there was no evidence of systematic cheating and independent observers have said the poll was free and fair.

Authorities have blamed a rise in online hoaxes, some calling for violent post-election attacks, for inflaming tensions and brought in social media restrictions in order to prevent "provocations."

The move imposed limits on the ability to upload videos or photos on social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and its platforms Instagram and Whatsapp.

The curbs had been criticized by opposition figures as being authoritarian.

Pangerapan said the government planned to tighten existing regulations to combat online hoaxes.

"We will make it an obligation for all social media platforms to actively remove hoaxes and fake news," he said.

Syrian Army killed nearly 350 jihadists, Turkish-backed rebels in northwestern Syria: Russia
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Army has faced several attacks from Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham
in the northwestern countryside of the Hama Governorate, killing up to 350 holy warriors and destroying six tanks and armored infantry carriers, Major General Viktor Kupchishin, chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria, said on Friday.

"Throughout the day, government forces repelled attacks by illegal gangs near the settlements of Kafr Naboudeh and Huayz in the Hama governorate. Since May 21, while rebuffing bad boy’s attacks the Syrian government army has destroyed up to 350 terrorists, five tanks, one armored infantry carries, 27 pickup trucks with heavy machineguns, two ’jihad cars’ and three multiple missile launcher systems," he said.

According to Kupchishin, illegal gangs are seeking to make up for the losses and are pulling troops, weapons and military hardware to the settlement of Kafr Naboudeh.

"Over the past two days, more than 800 bad boys, at least seven tanks, three armored infantry carries, 15 pickup trucks with heavy machineguns have been pulled to the southwestern part of the Idlib de-escalation zone. According to reconnaissance data, holy warriors are planning to use from two to four car stuffed with explosives and driven by jacket wallahs to stage an offensive on the Syrian army," he said.

He did not rule out that illegal gangs may stage fake attacks with the use of toxic agents to later put the blame for them on the Syrian army.

Twelve settlements in the Latakia and Hama governorates within the Idlib de-escalation zone came under shelling by forces of Evil during the day.

Elon Musk's SpaceX raised over $1 bln in six months
[DAWN] Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk's SpaceX has raised more than $1 billion in financing in the last six months as it aims to roll out an ambitious high-speed internet service by using a constellation of satellites to beam signals from space.

The company raised $486.2 million in an equity offering, starting December, and another $535.7m in an offering that began in April, its regulatory filings on Friday showed.

The rocket company on Thursday launched the first batch of 60 small satellites into low-Earth orbit for Musk's new Starlink internet service.

Musk sees the Starlink venture as an important new revenue stream for his Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,-based company, whose launch service income he expects to top out at around $3bn a year.

#1  I think he will make way more off his StarLink than any of his other endeavors. It has the potential to be bigger than Comcast as it is world wide. I expect him to have deals with NetLinks, ESPN, SoccerNets etc.. maybe even Disney. I don't see him staying Internet only with that bandwidth. Also deals with the SmartTV makers ...

#2  Also no reason, not to have Apple and Google devices working with his Internet. Since the net comes down to WiFi routers the routers could have a roaming login for service like Comcast does with it's roaming Xfinity login.
(for those without Comcast with Comcast you can have normal WiFi at home but roam to any Comcast WiFi with your Xfinity login even if it is unrelated to the owner's Comcast service.)
If enough places get StarLink you might be able to roam almost anywhere and not need Cellular except for an actual phone call. There is no reason in that reality that FaceTime or Skype shouldn't work.

Venezuela negotiators return to Norway for crisis talks
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Representatives of the Venezuelan government and opposition have returned to Norway for a mediation effort aimed at resolving the political crisis in the South American country, the Norwegian government said Saturday.

Norway said it will facilitate discussions next week in Oslo, in an indication that the negotiation track is gaining momentum after months of escalating tension between Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and Juan Guaidó, the US-backed opposition leader.

Top Maduro aide Jorge Rodríguez and Héctor Rodríguez, the governor of Miranda state, both of whom were in Oslo earlier this month for an earlier round of exploratory talks, will once again lead the government delegation. They will be joined this time by Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza and Larry Devoe, the government’s top human rights

official, said a Venezuelan official who was not authorized to discuss the talks and spoke on condition of anonymity.

The opposition delegation is being led by Stalin González, a senior member of the opposition-controlled congress, former Caracas area Mayor Gerardo Blyde and former Transport Minister Fernando Martínez Mottola, according to a person familiar with the talks who also spoke on the condition of anonymity. They will be joined by Vicente Diaz, a supporter of past negotiations with the government who previously served on the nation’s electoral council.

Both delegations traveled Saturday for the meetings, according to the two people.

Norwegian Foreign Minister Ine Eriksen Soreide praised both sides for their involvement.

Representatives of Venezuela’s political factions traveled to the European country earlier this month for talks, but it had been unclear if they would continue to engage with one another amid increased tensions over the opposition’s call for a military uprising on April 30.

The opposition had previously ruled out talks, accusing Maduro of using negotiations between 2016 and 2018 to play for time, and has demanded Maduro’s resignation and early elections. Maduro, in turn, alleges the opposition tried to seize power by force.

The US State Department said the only thing to negotiate with Maduro is "the conditions of his departure" from office.

Pentagon calls terror groups key obstacle in Taliban talks
[DAWN] The US Department of Defence has highlighted the presence of terrorist groups in Afghanistan as the key issue that would determine the fate of the ongoing talks between the United States and the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
The latest report by the Pentagon’s ’Lead Inspector General for Operation Freedom’s Sentinel’ reviews the quarter ending March 31 and covers the activities of terrorist groups in both Afghanistan and Pakistain.

It focuses "particularly (on) Al Qaeda and ISIS-K," noting that those two groups "remain a central focus of the Operation Freedom Sentinel (OFS) mission and has emerged as one of the key concerns in the ongoing peace negotiations."
So....the Taliban are Moderate Muslims™? Go ahead, pull the other one
Operation Freedom’s Sentinel (OFS) is the official name used by the US government for the US-led global war on terrorism.

"As the peace talks continue, the questions of whether the Taliban can help influence and deny sanctuary to these groups, and the extent to which an ongoing US counter-terrorism presence may be required, have become more prominent," says the report while highlighting Washington’s concerns in Afghanistan.

US and Afghan officials have stated that there are at least 20 terrorist organizations operating in Afghanistan and Pakistain. The report includes estimates of how many fighters these groups have in the region.

The report notes that most of these groups do not have global aspirations or reach. "For example, Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain, one of the larger groups, focuses on fighting the Pak government," it adds.

According to these estimates: ISIS-K, Haqqani Network and Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain are the three largest groups in the region. Each has between 3,000 to 5,000 fighters.

The Islamic Emirate High Council is the fourth with 1,000 fighters. Al Qaeda, one of the strongest terrorist groups in the region before the US invasion has now been reduced to 300 fighters.

Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan and Lashkar-e Taiba also have about 300 fighters. Tariq Gidar Group has 100-300 fighters, Jamaat ul-Ahrar

Trump Targets UK, Australia And Ukraine Over 'Greatest Hoax In The History Of Our Country'
[ZeroHedge] President Trump on Friday said that he wants Attorney General William Barr to investigate the UK, Australia and Ukraine for their roles in the 'greatest hoax in the history of our country.'

Speaking with reporters at the White House on Friday before his trip to Japan, Trump discussed his decision this week to issue a sweeping declassification order - leaving it in the hands of Barr to determine exactly what happened to Trump and his campaign before and after the 2016 US election.

"For over a year, people have asked me to declassify. What I've done is declassified everything," said Trump, adding "He can look and I hope he looks at the UK and I hope he looks at Australia and I hope he looks at Ukraine."
The costs to MI-6, the Aussies, and others for doing Brennan's bidding need to be harsh and public
"It's the greatest hoax probably in the history of our country and somebody has to get to the bottom of it. We'll see. For a long period of time, they wanted me to declassify and I did."

In short, It is likely (or now blindingly obvious) 'political opposition research' was weaponized via bilateral counterintelligence operation 'Crossfire Hurricane'. Multiple goals or end-states were likely in play, most notably the destruction of the Trump Campaign and the insulation from view of the Clinton Foundation.

Notice if you will, what is currently not being examined or mentioned by nearly anyone:

a. How Trump discovered he was being electronically monitored.

b. The funding venues of the Clinton Foundation.

c. Clinton alternate communications systems (home brew) servers and the unauthorized release of thousands of classified communications.

More than 40 per cent Indian MPs face criminal charges including rape, murder: study
[DAWN] More than 40 per cent of politicians in India's new parliament face criminal charges ‐ some as serious as murder and rape ‐ and the list is growing, an electoral reform group said on Saturday.
"They are almost as bad as the Congressional Black Caucus"
One member of parliament for the opposition Congress party is battling 204 cases including manslaughter and robbery, the Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR) said.

At least 233 of the 543 members named as winning seats on Thursday face criminal proceedings, according to the ADR, whose election chief Anil Verma said there is a "disturbing trend" in parliament that "is bad for the democracy".

The ADR said it studied the records of 539 of the winners and found that the number facing criminal cases was the highest since it started studies in 2004.

Iraq
Supporters of Iraqi Shiite cleric hold sit-ins against war
[Rudaw] Thousands of supporters of an Iraqi populist Shiite holy man held sit-ins around Iraq on Friday night, saying their country should not be a battlefield between the United States and Iran.

The sit-ins come days after a rocket slammed into Baghdad’s fortified Green Zone, landing less than a mile from the sprawling US Embassy. No injuries were reported and no group grabbed credit.

In Baghdad, more than 3,000 people gathered Friday night in central Tahrir Square chanting "no to war" and "yes to peace." In the southern city of Basra, Iraq’s third largest, more than 2,000 men and women gathered for a similar sit-in.
Remember back in the old days, when Tater could call up a mob of tens of thousands? How the mighty have fallen.
The demonstrators are supporters of influential holy man Moqtada Tater al-Sadr
... the Iranian catspaw holy man who was 22 years old in 2003 and was nearing 40 in 2010. He spends most of his time in Iran, safely out of the line of fire, where he's learning to be an ayatollah...
, who recently said that any political party that would drag Iraq into a US-Iran war "would be the enemy of the Iraqi people."

"The aim of these demonstrations is to distance Iraq from any war," said holy man Ibrahim al-Jabiri, a member of al-Sadr’s movement, as supporters stood by waving Iraqi flags and white roses signaling peace.

There have been concerns recently that Iraq could once again get caught in the middle. The country hosts more than 5,000 US troops, and is home to powerful Iranian-backed militias, some of whom want those US forces to leave.

For the Shiite-majority Iraq to be a theater for proxy wars is not new. It lies on the fault line between Shiite Iran and the mostly Sunni Arab world, led by powerhouse Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, and has long been the setting in which the Saudi-Iran rivalry for regional supremacy played out.

After America’s 2003 invasion of Iraq to oust dictator Saddam Hussein, American troops and Iranian-backed Lions of Islam fought pitched battles around the country, and scores of US troops were killed or maimed by sophisticated Iranian-made weapons.

Turkey sends weapons to Syrian armed groups facing Russian-backed assault
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
has equipped Syrian armed factions it backs with fresh supplies of weaponry to help them try to repel a major Russian-backed assault, senior opposition officials and other sources said on Saturday.
But Pooty and Yippy are besties! WTF?
Russia is backing the Syrian army’s large aerial and ground assault as it seeks to gain control of the last big stretch of territory held by gangs in the northwest of the country.

Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Oppressor of the Syrians and the Lebs...
launched the assault last month, saying the gangs had breached an existing ceasefire, triggering a civilian exodus by bombarding Idlib and adjacent areas.

It has been the biggest escalation since last summer between al-Assad and his enemies in Idlib province and a belt of territory around it.

Ankara stepped up supplies in recent days after failing to persuade Russia in recent meetings of a joint working group that it should end its escalation to avert a major influx of refugees pouring into Turkey, two senior opposition figures said.

In doing so Turkey signaled its readiness to preserve its influence in northwestern Syria, where it has beefed up its troop presence in a dozen military bases that were set up under a de-escalation deal with Russia, a senior gang commander said.

Ottoman Turkish officials were not immediately available for comment.

Overnight, a Ottoman Turkish military convoy arrived in a base in northern Hama near Jabal al-Zawiya, where Russian and Syrian jets have been pounding for weeks, an armed fighter and a witness said.

The delivery of dozens of armored vehicles, Grad rocket launchers, anti-tank guided missiles, and so-called TOW missiles, helped roll back some army gains and retake the strategically located town of Kfar Nabouda, one senior opposition figure said.

Syrian military launches massive attack across Idlib-Hama axis
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian military unleashed a powerful assault across the Idlib-Hama axis this evening, targeting several areas under the control of the jihadist and Ottoman Turkish-backed rebels.

Body of suspected MS-13 victim discovered in Long Island park
[NYPOST] The decomposing corpse of what cops believe is a victim of MS-13 has been discovered in a Long Island park, law enforcement sources said Saturday.

The remains were found in the Massapequa Preserve, just 100 to 150 feet from where another victim of the brutal gang, 19-year-old Julio Espantzay, was found butchered to death in 2017, Det. Lt. Stephen Fitzpatrick, commanding officer of Nassau County Police Department’s Homicide Division, said Saturday.

Cops investigating Espantzay’s killing had developed information about another victim and have been searching for remains in the 600-acre preserve for two years. On Friday, they found them.

"We had many indications with the dogs that this area might be where the person might be," Fitzpatrick said. "As we started to excavate we found the remains of a human being.

"We do believe we know who this person is," he added, noting the medical examiner will identify the victim.

It wasn’t clear if there were obvious signs of trauma to the decomposed body, a source said.

ISIS ambush kills several Syrian soldiers in eastern Syria

They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS/ISIS/IS/ISIS) terrorist organization has carried out an ambush against the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the vast Badiya al-Sham region.

According to a military source near the ancient city of Palmyra, the Islamic State ambushed a group of Syrian Army soldiers near the T-3 Pumping Station. This ambush resulted in the death of several Syrian Arab Army soldiers and the hospitalization of many others.

The source added that the Islamic State fighters quickly retreated to an unknown location shortly after they carried out this ambush.

Over the last two months, the Islamic State has carried out several ambushes against the Syrian Arab Army and the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in eastern, central, and northern Syria.

As a result of these ambushes, the Syrian Arab Army has lost between 80-90 soldiers near the ancient city of Palmyra alone. If it wasn’t for the recent hostilities in northwestern Syria, this region of Syria would be considered the deadliest part of the country.

Derp State's Italian job
[GatewayPundit] Rumors Swirling that Fired Italian Spies Were Connected in Plot to Eliminate Trump.

Rumors are swirling that the recent firings of top Italian spies were related to Obama and a plot to set up candidate and President Trump in a Hillary email scandal.

Earlier this month Italian Prime Minister Conte asked for the resignations of four top intelligence officials after his call with President Donald Trump.

And now another Internet Sleuth has uncovered some shocking news related to the recent removal of these top Italian intelligence ministers from their positions as top spies in the government.

The story begins in January 2017 when Computer World wrote about alleged crimes committed by Italian Giulio Occhionero:

The Tuesday arrest of Giulio Occhionero and his sister, Francesca Maria, has brought to light what appears to be the biggest, and highest-profile, hacking of institutional and corporate accounts ever reported in Italy.

The siblings have been planting the Pyramid Eye remote access Trojan on computers using a spear-phishing technique over several years, according to the arrest order.

They attacked at least 18,000 high-profile targets, including former Prime Ministers Matteo Renzi and Mario Monti, President of European Central Bank Mario Draghi, as well as employees and heads of various ministries including Internal Affairs, Treasury, Finance and Education.

But Giulio Occhionero claimed that he and his sister, Francesca Maria, were set up. A piece reported by Frederico Punzi, writing in The Atlantico, notes their denials and more:

Occhionero claims and it’s reported that:

Members of Italian intelligence were approached by Hillary Clinton, the Obama Administration, and the Deep State in order to frame Trump by PLANTING EVIDENCE on American servers to force Trump to step down from office.

In other words, members of Italian intelligence found a target in Occhionero, a Republican-sympathizer who had two servers for his company, Westland Securities, located in America. One was in Washington State, and the other in West Virginia.

The plan was for Italian Intelligence to hack into these servers, plant classified emails from Hillary’s servers inside these servers on American soil, and then alert the FBI.

The FBI would then raid these locations, “discover” these e-mails, investigate, link these servers to Trump…

And then force Trump to resign.

Occhionero believes that Obama and the former leader of Italy, Matteo Renzi, worked together on this plan and he provides reports of their meetings in Italy before the 2016 election and in early 2017.

That's when things get really shaky. They must have known they didn't know what they were doing so they must have been really desperate. The real question is how they coaxed Italian intel officials into the scheme. Bribery? Blackmail? Death threats? Had to be something dramatic. It's gonna make for some of the best spy novels since the Cold War.

#2  I think this is bullshit. Either the Occhioneros are trying to barter a way out of prison, or just trying to sell a story.

Zaki Mubarak’s niece stabbed by unknown assailants in Bulgaria
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The niece of Zaki Mubarak, a Paleostinian who died in Ottoman Turkish custody after being tossed in the clink
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
on alleged espionage charges, was stabbed by unknown assailants near the family’s home in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia. The family told Al Arabiya they fear the attack came in retaliation to their recent attempts to uncover the truth of what happened to their relative in Istanbul.

Zaki’s brother, Zakaria Mubarak, told Al Arabiya that the attackers muffled and tied up his daughter, and stabbed her in various parts of her body.

He added that they injected her with an unknown substance and left her in a park near their home after they had video recorded the incident.

Zakaria Mubarak also said that the perpetrators told his daughter that they would kill all of her family members. He said that after they assaulted his daughter, a person speaking in a Paleostinian dialect told her she would "live, not die." The assailant added, "tell your father that we will kill you all if he doesn’t stop."

Zakaria Mubarak told Al Arabiya he believes the assault on his daughter was a message to scare him into stopping his campaign to uncover the truth regarding his brother’s death. He has been leading the family’s efforts to uncover what happened to Zaki, vowing to file a lawsuit against the Ottoman Turkish government to international courts in order to prove what he says is their involvement in the torture and murder of his brother.

Zakaria Mubarak maintains that the story provided by the Ottoman Turkish authorities, which claims that his brother did away with himself while in prison, is a fabricated cover-up.

He revealed that his daughter is now at the hospital at death's door, adding that doctors are conducting blood tests to identify the type of substance she was injected with, fearing it may be toxic.

According to Zakaria Mubarak, his daughter is suffering from a broken neck, as well as scattered stab wounds across her body.

The body of Zaki Mubarak was buried in his hometown Deir al-Balah in the central Gazoo Strip on Friday.

The dear departed, who was arrested on alleged espionage charges, was moved from the Egyptian capital, Cairo after forensic experts completed an autopsy demanded by the family who insists that his body showed signs of torture.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister to visit Qatar, Oman and Kuwait for talks
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will begin on Sunday a tour of Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
, Oman, and Kuwait, Fars news agency reported.

Aragchi’s visit to the Gulf coincides with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif’s two-day visit to the Iraqi capital of Baghdad after finishing a tour of several Asian countries, including India, China, and Japan.

Last week, the deputy Iranian foreign minister told a German envoy seeking to preserve the 2015 nuclear deal that Iran’s patience was over and urged the treaty’s remaining signatories to fulfill their commitments after the United States pulled out.

Tensions have soared between Iran and the United States since Washington sent more military forces to the Middle East, including an aircraft carrier, B-52 bombers, and Patriot missiles, in a show of force against what US officials say are Iranian threats to its troops and interests in the region.

On Wednesday, US officials said the Defense Department was considering a US military request to send about 5,000 additional troops to the Middle East.

Government
None of these people are fit to pick up your trash...
[RealClearInvestigations] "The FBI and DoJ are ruthless to each other, petty to one another," one congressional staffer marvels.

FBI investigator Peter Strzok provides a vivid example of the attitudes at play. In texts to his lover, FBI lawyer Lisa Page, he makes declarations such as "I hate DoJ." Half an hour later he sends another text that includes "And I hate DoJ." Elsewhere in the texts, the people of "main justice" are called "political dicks" In the same spirit Strzok declares "DoJ are putzes, man." Later he tells Page, "Don't trust DoJ" and declares, "God I hate them." Page describes DoJ as the "no brigade." She writes, "I just feel like throttling DOJ."

Connoisseurs of the knife fights between Justice and the bureau keep an eye out not only for what gets reported in the press, but where it gets reported. "The Department of Justice has good relations with, and tends to leak to, the Washington Post," says a longtime Capitol Hill staffer. "The FBI leaks to the New York Times."

#1  DOJ and FBI are both rotten due to Obama appointees, starting with Holder. They should both be cleaned out starting at the top of the GS careerists, because of the leaks, not who they leak to.

We need someone to get medieval on them and the intelligence agencies and the IRS, who have all gone rogue in one way or another. Fortunately, Trump is the President, and he should be able to find enough hatchet men to lop off the rotten branches.

Maj. Gen. Najim al-Jubouri, the commander of Nineveh Operations, told AlSaumaria News that an army force received intelligence information on the presence of two IS gunnies in Tal Abta district in Nineveh.

Backed by federal police and tribal fighters, the army force managed to kill the pair and seized a booby-trapped motorbike, which they planned to use in a terrorist attack, Jubouri said.

Iranian general: We’ve exported our culture to armed groups in Yemen, Lebanon
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The assistant to the Iranian army’s chief, Brigadier General Hassan Seifi, said that they have been able to "export their culture" to gangs in Yemen, Leb, Gazoo, and Afghanistan who can "overcome the largest army in the world."

"These groups do not rely on military science or tactical capabilities, which is one of their strengths. The enemy must see Iran’s regular military capabilities close in the field. We tell the enemy that Iran is ready and not afraid of the messages and dangers of any war," Seifi wrote in a piece published by Mehr news agency.

The Iranian general ruled out war with the United States amid tensions between the two countries. However,
the way to a man's heart remains through his stomach...
he stressed that the Iranian forces "are fully ready ... and any attack on Iran will be expensive for the US."

"We believe rational Americans and their experienced commanders will not let their radical elements lead them into a situation from which it would be very difficult to get out, and that is why they will not enter a war," Seifi said.

The comments come after the US said it was sending 1,500 troops to the region in what it called an effort to bolster defenses against Tehran, and it accused Iran’s Revolutionary Guards of direct responsibility for attacks on tankers this month.

Iran has threatened to disrupt oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz if the United States tries to strangle Tehran’s economy by halting its oil exports through increased sanctions.

Separately, an Iranian military official said Iran could sink US warships in the Gulf.

Coalition Seeks to Expose Communist Infiltration of Democratic Party
[Epoch Times] WASHINGTON‐A new group seeks to expose efforts by communists to take over the Democratic Party and, in so doing, help to drive them out.

Group member Trevor Loudon, who is also a contributor to The Epoch Times, announced on his website that with the launch of Stand Against Communism, this "takeover of the Democratic Party will be publicly exposed until the party takes firm action to remove these subversives from its ranks."

At the launch event at the National Press Club on May 20, Stand Against Communism Chairman Bishop E.W. Jackson said it constituted "an ongoing effort, and we’re developing a strategy for addressing this particularly over the next two years leading up to 2020."
Stand Against Communism joins SPLC Hate-Group list in 5...4...3...
"We’re going to use the spotlight of the presidential election to call attention to what these candidates stand for," he said. A "strike force" working in early presidential nomination contest states with churches and Tea Party groups will inform the electorate about candidate backgrounds, and challenge the candidates directly to put them and "the whole apparatus" on the defensive.

For instance, "why hasn’t anybody challenged Bernie Sanders: What does socialism mean?" Jackson asked.

"When Bernie Sanders stands up and declares himself a ’socialist,’" Jackson said, "we ought to all hear him saying, ’I am a Communist.’" After all, Jackson argued, the CPUSA’s own stated goal is "to build socialism in the United States based on the revolutionary traditions and struggles of the people of our country."

The problem is not limited to presidential candidates, Jackson said. Former FBI Director James Comey once revealed that politically he had "moved from Communist to whatever I am now." Jackson asked, "How does a former Communist end up the head of the FBI?"

Likewise, Jackson noted, former CIA Director John Brennan has acknowledged he once voted for Communist Party USA (CPUSA) General Secretary Gus Hall for president, a candidate "who was being funded by the Soviet Union."
