Explosion that ripped through two Swedish apartment buildings was caused by a BOMB placed outside, police believe
[DailyMail] The explosion happened in central Linkoping, 110 miles southwest of Stockholm. While the cause of the explosion was not clear, Sweden has seen several cases in recent years where explosives were used in suspected gang-related attacks.
Unmentioned is that fact that nowadays in Sweden most of the gangs are ethnic — Kurds, Syrians, Iraqis — so this is very likely an act of Muslim colonist intimidation.

They care for their brothers and male cousins, whom they incorporate into their plots, and their sons for their value as future plotters. And their daughters, sisters, aunts, and female cousins, who are useful when offered in marriage to bind the plotters more closely.

Europe
Greece: Athens' first mosque to open this year
[DW] Greece's largest city is the only European capital without an official mosque. Despite years of opposition from the conservatives and the Orthodox Church, that's set to change later this year.
I always thought that was the difference between Greece and Turkey.
Athens' first official mosque is set to open in the coming months after a decadeslong fight for its construction by the country's minority Moslem population.
Or as an ex-president of the US would say, "Invasions have consequences."
"We hope the first prayer will be in September," said Minister of Education and Religion Kostas Gavroglou on Friday.
So maybe there isn't really a difference between Greece and Turkey.
The minister toured the nearly completed site, which is designed to accommodate some 350 people, on the outskirts of the city center with members of the local Moslem community.
Be careful what you say about Erdogan in Athens.
"Athens finally has a house of prayer for Moslems," he said, according to radio broadcaster Athens 984.
... and more to come.
Parliament approved final plans to build the mosque in 2016 in partial response to the spread of illegal sites of worship throughout Athens and the surrounding area.

Athens is the only European capital without an official mosque. Fierce opposition from Greek conservatives and the Orthodox Church has frustrated efforts to build one, despite support for the project dating back to the 1890s.

'A GREAT GIFT FROM THE GREEK STATE'
A government-appointed executive board will oversee the mosque and select its imam. Sermons will only be permitted in Greek, the ministry said, but the prayers are expected to take place in Arabic.

"I would like to start by thanking Allah that we finally have a mosque where we can pray, we can gather, we can talk," said Zaki Mohammed, who will be the mosque's first imam.

Ashir Haidar, a representative of Greece's Shia Moslem community, said the mosque was "a great gift from the Greek state to the Moslem community of Athens."

Greece repurposed or destroyed its mosques after it declared independence from the Moslem-majority Ottoman Empire in 1821. Some were later constructed near the country's border with The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
, where up to 150,000 Moslems live.

Indian MP Accused of 2008 Mosque Bombing Appears in Court
[AnNahar] A firebrand
...firebrands are noted more for audio volume and the quantity of spittle generated than for any actual logic in their arguments...
Hindu nationalist nun accused of participating in the deadly bombing of a mosque appeared in court Friday, two weeks after she won a parliamentary seat in India's election.

Sadhvi Pragya Thakur is being tried on terrorism and criminal conspiracy charges over the 2008 attack in western India that killed six people and injured more than 100 others.

The MP for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) appeared before a special terror offences court in Mumbai, her first appearance since charges were laid last October.

Thakur, 49, had been instructed by the judge to attend at least one hearing per week. The court granted her an exemption on Thursday due to ill health.

Police say her cycle of violence was used to carry the explosives used in the attack in Malegaon, and that she took part in a key planning meeting before it was staged.

Thakur spent nine years in detention as India's notoriously slow legal system dragged before she was bailed in 2017.

She won an emphatic victory in India's mammoth general election, taking 62 percent of the vote for a seat in the central industrial city of Bhopal.

Indian election rules allow anyone to stand for office as long as they have not been convicted of a crime.

Thakur only joined the BJP in April and the party stunned many when it named her as a parliamentary candidate the next month.

She courted controversy throughout the campaign, telling journalists that the radical Hindu assassin of Indian independence hero Mahatma Gandhi was a "patriot" -- earning her a rebuke from Modi.

Thakur also raised eyebrows for claiming that drinking cow urine had helped cure her cancer and extolling the benefits of drinking a concoction of milk, butter and cow dung.

The opposition Congress party, which was trounced in the election, have denounced her as symbolic of the rise of extreme Hindu nationalism in India under Modi.

The BJP has regularly jumped to her defense. Party president Amit Shah, now India's home affairs minister, has called the terrorism charges against her "fake".

#1  She's a female sadhu apparently. And illiterate sadhus are deified in this stupid society. Even more so these days when they've killed a few muslims. But giving her a seat was tactically wise of them. She won by 300K votes after all.

From buddhists to sadhus to... rain, everybody turns homicidal against mooslims.

The whole truth is, the lady in question is hindu muscle, posing as religious leader. Until these people run totally afoul of the constitution, the govts keep giving them a pass. Just as long as they're well disguised as hindu.

It isn't right, but that's just the way it is. A strong response to rising leftist and islamist influence was needed. With no alternative in sight, Indian society looked to it's own indigenous horde of trident carrying, mantra chanting sociopaths. They're here to stay. At least they don't rape and kill and rob by default as a religious imperative.

#2  From Wikipedia:

A sadhu (IAST: sādhu (male), sādhvī or sādhvīne (female)), also spelled saddhu, is a religious ascetic, mendicant (monk) or any holy person in Hinduism and Jainism who has renounced the worldly life.[1][2][3] They are sometimes alternatively referred to as jogi, sannyasi or vairagi.[1]

It literally means one who practises a ″sadhana″ or keenly follows a path of spiritual discipline.[4] Although the vast majority of sādhus are yogīs, not all yogīs are sādhus. The sādhu is solely dedicated to achieving mokṣa (liberation), the fourth and final aśrama (stage of life), through meditation and contemplation of Brahman. Sādhus often wear simple clothing, such saffron-coloured clothing in Hinduism, white or nothing in Jainism, symbolising their sannyāsa (renunciation of worldly possessions). A female mendicant in Hinduism and Jainism is often called a sadhvi, or in some texts as aryika.

Maybe it’s Western thing, but I don’t understand how someone who has given up worldly things can actively be involved in the very worldly hurly burly that is democratic politics.

#3  Ha! Nope, she's not that. You have to understand that a real sadhu won't be in the limelight for anything. The current format of organized buffoonery that passes for hinduism is very contrived. Control and enforcement was never meant to be superposed on hindu philosophy. It was never meant to be a religion.

One prevalent trend across the world is denominationalism. Just as you will find few 'saints' in organized churches, so will you find few real sadhus among these saffron-clad mini-deities.

Her real job is politics. As I said, she's muscle against muslim leaders. To rouse the hindu rabble and intimidate other communities. Unfortunately, they also attack christians sometimes.

#4  Hindus of today are not something grandly philosophical or gifted with intuition and an inherent oneness with the cosmos, like popular culture depicts. Lazy, navel-gazing nonsense. They are selfish, narrow-minded, irrational and self destructive.

Against the leftists and muslims, however they are a necessary evil. Politics is often double entry book-keeping between two evils.

attack on security forces, as new details have emerged about the assailant’s activities over the past few months.

After detaining Abdul Rahman Mabsout’s father and brother and another person who had ties to the gunman, army intelligence agents have arrested in the northern city five young men who media reports said belong to "Sheikh Kanaan Naji’s group."

The reports said the five had links to Mabsout.

Other media reports meanwhile said that Mabsout were tossed into the calaboose two months ago when he sought to be employed at Tripoli’s port.

"He visited the directorate of Tripoli’s port but his application was rejected after the assessment of his criminal record and his joining of the ranks of ISIS in Syria," al-Hayat newspaper said.

"Mabsout was infuriated when he heard the negative response, which prompted him to start cursing and threatening the port’s administration," the daily added.

"The General Security agency arrested him at the port and handed him over to the Military Police, which released him after interrogation," al-Hayat said.

Riding a cycle of violence, Mabsout fired on police and army vehicles in different parts of Tripoli on Monday night, killing two coppers and two soldiers and wounding several others before blowing himself up later when confronted by troops.

Media reports said Mabsout was a former member of the Islamic State

Israel Prevents Hamas-Affiliated Group From Receiving UN Status
[Jpost] Israel's Mission to the UN led a diplomatic effort to prevent a Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw,‐aligned group called "The Paleostinian Association for Human Rights - Witness" from receiving a prestigious status at the UN.

The United Nations
...the Oyster Bay money pit...
Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) on Thursday granted a special UN status to several global NGOs, a step that would enable these organizations to advise the UN in various fields and take part in its activities.

Some 236 NGOs were granted this status on Thursday. Among those who applied for the special status, there was a Paleostinian organization registered in Leb under the name "Witness," which allegedly promotes the rights of Paleostinian refugees in Leb.

Its stated goals, as they appear in the organization's website, are: "Improving the living conditions of the Paleostinian refugees," "defining the rights of the Paleostinian refugees and protecting it," "promoting the culture of the children's rights among the Paleostinian community of refugees in Leb," and "giving the Paleostinian youth and children the needed attention and meeting their demands."

But according to Israel, this organization was, in fact, a Hamas-aligned group. Last March, Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Benjamin Netanyahu signed an order declaring "Witness" a terrorist organization in Israel.

Israel's Mission to the UN said in a statement on Thursday that "in recent months, Israel's security establishment has revealed that Witness belongs to the Hamas movement and acts on its behalf against Israel as part of a network of institutions and organizations the terrorist organization operates outside the Gazoo Strip."

According to the Israeli Mission, "Witness's chairman, Mahmoud al-Hanafi, frequently met with the leadership of Hamas and Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...

Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out!
in Israel. Although Witness engages in humanitarian aid and human rights
When they're defined by the state or an NGO they don't mean much...
in Leb, it actively promotes political terrorism against Israel, thus misleading the international community."

Following the diplomatic effort, led by Israel's Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, 28 out of 48 countries in the UN's Economic and Social Council objected to granting the organization the special status.

Among the countries that voted in favor: Brazil, Canada, Colombia, La Belle France, Germany, India, Ireland, Japan, Korea, Ukraine, United Kingdom, and the United States. The countries that voted against include Egypt, Iran, Morocco, Pakistain, Russia, Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
U.S. Imposes New Sanctions On Iranian Petrochemical Industry
[Jpost] The United States on Friday imposed new sanctions on Iran targeting the country's petrochemical industry, including its largest petrochemical holding group, over its financial support for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the Treasury Department said.

Washington is pressuring Iran over its nuclear and ballistic missile program and for waging proxy wars in other Middle Eastern countries. The new measures follow a round of sanctions imposed last month that targeted the Islamic Theocratic Republic's export revenues from industrial metals.

Tensions between the two countries worsened last month when the Trump administration ordered the deployment of an aircraft carrier strike group, bombers and Patriot missiles to the Middle East, citing intelligence about possible Iranian preparations to attack US forces or interests.

Friday's sanctions target Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (PGPIC) for providing financial support for the economic arm of the IRGC, Iran's elite military unit in charge of Iran’s ballistic missile and nuclear programs.

The US Treasury also designated the holding group's network of 39 subsidiary petrochemical companies and foreign-based sales agents. PGPIC and its subsidiaries hold 40% of Iran’s petrochemical production capacity and are responsible for 50% of Iran’s petrochemical exports, it said.

"By targeting this network we intend to deny funding to key elements of Iran's petrochemical sector that provide support to the IRGC," US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said in a statement.

The Treasury statement said Iran's oil ministry last year awarded the IRGC’s Khatam al-Anbiya, the IRGC's economic and engineering arm, 10 projects in oil and petrochemical industries worth $22 billion, four times the official budget of the IRGC.

US law already punished US persons who deal with the IRGC with up to 20 years in prison because of the group’s designation under the Specially Designated Global Terrorist list, a different sanctions program.

two hard boyz and destroyed a weapons depot of the krazed killers.

Wardak is among the relatively volatile provinces in central parts of Afghanistan.

Talibs are active in some parts of the province and often conduct terrorist related activities.

Meanwhile,
...back at the revival hall, the congregants were being herded into the paddy wagon...
the Afghan forces are busy conducting counter-terrorism operations against the anti-government gangs in this province.

Army chief says Gaza deal for calm is working, violence along border is down
[IsraelTimes] But Aviv Kohavi also signals to leaders of communities near border of Hamas, one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbung millipede,-run enclave that IDF will not allow arson balloons to be launched into Israel forever.

Kohavi said there had been a decrease in the number of incendiary devices flown into Israel and violence along the border fence had calmed significantly from earlier this year, when festivities between protesting Paleostinians and Israeli troops had been a near-daily occurrence.

"The decrease... is not coincidental," he said, according to Hebrew-language media. "Right now, we prefer to give the arrangement a chance."

Despite several fires in the area being blamed on incendiary devices attached to balloons launched into Israel from Gazoo, the region has not seen any major bouts of fighting since a since a deadly two-day flare-up in early May that saw almost 700 rockets fired into Israel and hundreds of retaliatory Arclight airstrikes.

On Thursday, Israel reduced the fishing zone off the Gazoo from 15 nautical miles back to 10 miles, a day after bringing it back up to 15 miles.

The move was apparently in response to four incendiary balloons from the coastal enclave that caused small fires in southern Israel on Tuesday.

No arson balloons landed in Israel on Wednesday or Thursday, Fire and Rescue Services spokesperson Eli Cohen said.

Afghanistan
Afghan Forces Retake Ghazni’s Khwaja Omari District
[ToloNews] The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces retaken the control of Khwaja Omari district in the central Ghazni province, an Army official confirmed.

The clearance operation is still ongoing in the district, which fell to the Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...

The operation was started on Thursday evening, according to local officials.

This comes as Acting Defense Minister Assadullah Khalid in a visit to Zabul province in the south of Afghanistan said that those parts of the country which have fallen to the Taliban will be retaken by Afghan forces in the near future as they have stepped up their operations against the bully boys.

Khalid said the Taliban did not have any achievement in their spring offensive.

"From the beginning of al-Fatah operation (Taliban’s spring offensive), they (Taliban) had planned to capture three provinces... So far, no district has fallen to bully boys," Khalid said.

"So far, we have retaken control of one of the fallen districts and will retake other parts of the country in the near future," he added.

Late last month, the Afghan cops retook control of Deh Yak district in central Ghazni province which was under Taliban influence for nearly two years.

Jury awards Gibson’s Bakery $11 million against Oberlin College
[LEGALINSURRECTION] Punitive damage phase to start next Tuesday, which could increase the damages to $33 million.
Couldn't happen to a nicer institution of higher learning. Ptui.
Meredith Raimondo was held liable on the libel and interference with business relations, but not intentional infliction of emotional distress. By stipulation, the college is responsible for any amounts awarded against her, so she will not pay anything out of pocket.

We followed this case from the start of the protests, through the lawsuit process, and now trial. Here’s my statement:

The verdict sends a strong message that colleges and universities cannot simply wind up and set loose student social justice warriors and then wash their hands of the consequences. In this case, a wholly innocent 5th-generation bakery was falsely accused of being racist and having a history racial profiling after stopping three black Oberlin College students from shoplifting. The students eventually pleaded guilty, but not before large protests and boycotts intended to destroy the bakery and defame the owners. The jury appears to have accepted that Oberlin College facilitated the wrongful conduct against the bakery.

Syrian Army rolls back jihadist gains, nearly all territory retaken
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has now retaken almost all of the territory they lost to the jihadist rebels last night, a source from the military told al-Masdar moments ago.

The source said the Syrian Arab Army recently just expelled the jihadist rebels from the key hilltop of Tal Malah. Tal Malah overlooks the main road linking the two government strongholds of Mhardeh and Sqaylabiyeh.

Since they launched their counter-offensive, the Syrian Arab Army has managed to retake the town of Kafr Houd and the large hilltop of Tal Malah. The Syrian Army is now attacking the small town of Jibeen, which was the first site captured by the jihadist forces last night.

Despite the successful counter-offensive, the Syrian Arab Army still suffered a large number of casualties the night before. According to a source, the corpse count from the jihadist attack has exceeded 30.

Syrian Army killed 120 militants during HTS offensive in NW Hama: Russia
[ALMASDARNEWS] Militants from the *Hayat Tahrir al-Sham
terror group launched an offensive late on Thursday. At least 500 Death Eaters with the support of armored vehicles and tanks, attacked Syrian army positions near the towns of Jabin and Tal Melh, according to Maj. Gen. Viktor Kupchishin, commander of the Russian center for Syrian reconciliation.

"While repelling the attack, Syrian government forces killed over 120 Death Eaters and destroyed five tanks, three IFV, nine off-road vehicles, a multiple-launch rocket system and two mortars", Kupchishin said at a daily briefing.

The Russian general also said that on 7 June armed opposition groups from the Idlib de-escalation zone launched attacks on the positions of government forces near the towns of Karnaz and Hamamiyat in Hama province.

According to Kupchishin, about 80 gunnies and seven pickup trucks participated in the attack on Karnaz. About 60 gunnies took part in the attack on Hamamiyat with the support of two tanks, an IFV and a pickup truck.

"While repelling the attacks by armed opposition groups, the Syrian Arab Republic armed forces destroyed more than 20 holy warriors, a tank and two pickup trucks", he concluded.

In early May, Death Eaters increased the frequency of attacks on the Syrian provinces of Hama, Aleppo, and Latakia. They also attempted attacks on Syrian army positions in the region. Government forces have responded by attacking terrorist formations in Idlib province. Syrian forces are targeting Nusra Front terrorist group depots, artillery positions, and observation posts.

Northwestern Idlib is reportedly still home to around 30,000 button men, including foreign mercenaries, and gunnies of the Nusra Front terror group.

Trump’s Great D-Day Speech
[FREEBEACON] President Trump gave one of the best speeches of his presidency while many Americans were brushing their teeth. His remarks at the seventy-fifth commemoration of D-Day at the Normandy American cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer, France, were gracious, moving, poetic, and delivered in a time zone six hours ahead of the East Coast.

Which is too bad. The address deserves a wide audience not only for its content but also because it fits into the larger themes of this presidency. Speaking from what he described as "Freedom's Altar," Donald Trump once again made the case for reviving America's national spirit, sovereignty, and strength.

Trump told the story of D-Day and of some exemplary GIs before an audience that included more than 60 veterans of the landings themselves. Adding to the poignancy of the scene was the knowledge that the Greatest Generation is slowly fading into posterity. "When you were young, these men enlisted their lives in a Great Crusade—one of the greatest of all times," the president said. "Their mission is the story of an epic battle and the ferocious, eternal struggle between good and evil."

The phrase "Great Crusade" harks back to General Eisenhower's statement to the soldiers, sailors, and airmen of the Allied Expeditionary Force, and to FDR's D-Day prayer. The language of good and evil, and the invocation of God, echoes earlier Trump speeches as well as those of Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush. In his prepared speeches, Trump has been unafraid to speak in plainly moral terms, and to call on the best traditions of American rhetoric.

What makes Trump's language unique is his emphasis on nations. Trump catalogued the Allies who fought the Nazis at Normandy. He noted the "nobility and fortitude" of the British people and "the full grandeur of British pride." He acknowledged the "sense of honor and loyalty" of the Canadians. He recognized "the fighting Poles, the tough Norwegians, and the intrepid Aussies." He saluted "the gallant French commandos, soon to be met by thousands of their brave countrymen ready to write a new chapter in the long history of French valor."

Trump's most stirring words, of course, were dedicated to the American people. "They came from the farms of a vast heartland, the streets of glowing cities, and the forges of mighty industrial towns." The Americans who fought in World War II, and who charged Omaha beach, "ran through the fires of hell moved by a force no weapon could destroy: the fierce patriotism of a free, proud, and sovereign people. They battled not for control and domination, but for liberty, democracy, and self-rule."

As he did in his 2017 address to the people of Poland, Trump connects heroism and valor to nationhood and religious feeling. "The exceptional might came from a truly exceptional spirit," he said at Normandy. "The abundance of courage came from an abundance of faith. The great deeds of an Army came from the great depths of their love."

In the Warsaw speech, he said, "Through four decades of communist rule, Poland and the other captive nations of Europe endured a brutal campaign to demolish freedom, your faith, your laws, your history, your identity—indeed the very essence of your culture and your humanity. Yet, through it all, you never lost that spirit."

It is sometimes jarring to hear the proprietor of Mar-a-Lago direct our attention to the spiritual realm. Here, too, Trump's rhetoric maintains its ties to some of America's greatest orators. In his "Time for Choosing" speech of October 1964, Ronald Reagan quoted Winston Churchill, who said, "The destiny of man is not measured by material computations. When great forces are on the move in the world, we learn we're spirits—not animals." Churchill, Reagan continued, also said, "There's something going on in time and space, and beyond time and space, which, whether we like it or not, spells duty." The men who fought for freedom at Normandy know what he meant.

Khartoum's Deadly Crackdown Part Of An Internal Struggle For Power
[MEMRI.ORG] The honeymoon is over in Khartoum. There was a short period of ambiguity and hope between April 11, 2019 when Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir
Head of the National Congress Party. He came to power in 1989 when he, as a brigadier in the Sudanese army, led a group of officers in a bloodless military coup that ousted the government of Prime Minister Sadiq al-Mahdi and eventually appointed himself president-for-life. He has fallen out with his Islamic mentor, Hasan al-Turabi, tried to impose shariah on the Christian and animist south, resulting in its secessesion, and attempted to Arabize Darfur by unleashing the barbaric Janjaweed on it. Sudan's potential prosperity has been pissed away in warfare that has left as many as 400,000 people dead and 2.5 million displaced. Omar has been indicted for genocide by the International Criminal Court but nothing is expected to come of it.
was removed from power by his own generals and June 3, 2019 when security forces brutally killed over a hundred peaceful demonstrators and subsequently called for snap elections in seven months.

During that short seven-week period, there was a chance, and even some real indications, that a very Sudanese solution ‐ fragile, confused, but hopeful ‐ would have been found along the lines of previous transitions from military dictatorship to civilian rule. Hopes that 2019 would be something of a repeat of 1964 and 1985 have, at least for now, been dashed although it should not be forgotten that both previous transitions to democracy were brief and led back to dictatorship after a few years. Sudan is closer to the edge and it seems that a much more violent future could be in the cards if another misstep is made.

French trial for support team of Charlie Hebdo, Hyper Cacher terror attacks finally scheduled
[IsraelTimes] 14 people are accused of providing the three Jihadist button men, who were killed by Gay Paree police, logistical support and weapons; trial to begin next year.

Suspects linked to the deadly jihadist attacks that struck the Gay Paree region in January 2015, killing 17 people over a three-day period, will stand trial from April to July next year, a legal source said on Friday.

A special Gay Paree criminal court will hear the case against 14 people accused of helping the attackers, providing them with logistical support and the weapons to carry out the attacks.

The victims included 12 people killed at the offices of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo
...A lefty French satirical magazine, home of what may well be the majority if the active testicles left in Europe...
by Cherif Kouachi and his brother Said
...Algerian-French known wolves who’d been members of the Buttes-Chaumont network that sent jihadis to Al Qaeda in Iraq following the 2003 invasion...
on January 7, 2015. They targeted the paper for its caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad.

Over the following two days the third gunman, Amedy Coulibaly,
..the Mali-Frenchman whose wife Hayat Boumeddiene decamped for ISIS in Syria just before that particular excitement. She reportedly died of an airstrike during the Battle of Baghuz Fawqani...
killed a policewoman in the Montrouge suburb south of Gay Paree where authorities think he may have initially been targeting a nearby Jewish school.

He then killed four people at Hyper Cacher, a kosher supermarket during a hostage standoff with police.

All three button men were killed by police.
Of passing interest: their mentor, French-Algerian radical preacher Djamel Beghal, one of Al Qaeda’s key men in the web connecting jihadis in England and France to the home office and to the Algerian Salafist Group for Prayer and Combat (GSPC), was stripped of French citizenship and expelled to Algeria last year.
The three attackers had claimed allegiance to jihadist groups.
...that is, Al Qaeda and ISIS, but the attack was credited to Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, which apparently funded the operation.
The source told AFP the trial would run from April 20 to July 3, 2020.
Pencilled in on my calendar.

U.S., Mexico: Trump Announces Deal With Mexico, Suspends Tariff Threat
[Twitter-Stratfor] U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Twitter on June 7 that Mexico and the United States have reached an agreement over immigration-related issues. As a result, the 5 percent tariffs on imports from Mexico that Trump had planned for June 10 have been indefinitely delayed. The State Department later released details of the agreement. Among other things, Mexico agreed to deploy its national guard throughout the country with a focus on its southern border, and to change certain migration protocols to allow the United States to send asylum seekers to Mexico until their case is heard.

Trump was right about NAFTA. Perot talked about the sucking sound of jobs leaving for Mexico because of NAFTA. He was right as well. Many small towns around here lost manufacturing because of NAFTA.

#11  Trump reached an immigration reform agreement with Mexico Friday evening. The deal essentially ends catch-and-release, having Mexico offering migrants jobs and health care while they wait for their asylum claims to be heard in the U.S.

“Those [migrants] crossing the U.S. Southern Border to seek asylum will be rapidly returned to Mexico where they may await the adjudication of their [US.] asylum claims,” the State Department said in the joint declaration.

In response, Mexico will authorize the entrance of all of those individuals for humanitarian reasons, in compliance with its international obligations, while they await the adjudication of their asylum claims. Mexico will also offer jobs, healthcare, and education according to its principles.

Trump admin tells U.S. embassies they can't fly pride flag on flagpoles
[NBC] The Trump administration is rejecting requests from U.S. embassies to fly the rainbow pride flag on embassy flagpoles during June, LGBTQ Pride Month, three American diplomats told NBC News.

The U.S. embassies in Israel, Germany, Brazil and Latvia are among those that have requested permission from Trump's State Department to fly the pride flag on their flagpoles and have been denied, diplomats said.

Although the pride flag can and is being flown elsewhere on embassy grounds, including inside embassies and on exterior walls, the decision not to allow it on the official flagpole stands in contrast to President Donald Trump's claim to be a leader in supporting LGBTQ rights overseas. Trump's administration has announced a campaign to decriminalize homosexuality overseas and this month issued a tweet and formal statement to "celebrate LGBT Pride Month and recognize the outstanding contributions LGBT people have made."

The denials to U.S. embassies have come from the office of the State Department's undersecretary for management, Brian Bulatao, a longtime associate of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo who also worked for him at the CIA. Under State Department policy, embassies that want to fly the flag on their flagpoles are expected to obtain permission from Washington.

#9  I fully support this. No flags that don't represent the whole of the United States should fly over our embassies (I would permit flags like the Navy flag on an event such as the Navy's birthday or something, because the Navy does represent the entirety of the United States, for example). Similarly, the US embassies shouldn't fly the largely white flag with a cross that represents Christianity in the eyes of many, or the Red Cross flag, or innumerable other widely recognized flags attached to causes that are not the national government of the United States (and federal government here in the states should follow the same rules, with exceptions for the state flags those buildings are located in).

Britain
UK PM Theresa May quits as Conservative Party leader, sparking succession race
[DAWN] British Prime Minister Theresa May steps down as leader of her Conservative Party on Friday, formally triggering the race for a successor who will try where she failed to deliver, Brexit.

May will remain prime minister until a new leader is chosen, likely in late July, but has relinquished control over the direction of Britannia's tortuous departure from the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
Brexit is still scheduled for Oct 31 but while her rivals thrash it out, the project remains stuck, with the only divorce plan agreed with Brussels stuck in parliament.

May took office after the 2016 referendum vote to leave the EU and has spent the past three years working on the plan, delaying Brexit twice to try to get it through. But she finally acknowledged defeat in a tearful resignation speech last month, the culmination of months of political turmoil that has slowly sapped all her authority.

Construction to Begin Soon on Taller White House Fence
[USNEWS] THE White House is getting a new 13-foot fence, almost double its current height, to help keep intruders out.
Shoulda gone higher first time somebody hopped it.
The Secret Service says the $64 million construction project will soon begin on what eventually will be a 13-foot, 1-inch (3.96-meter) fence, including wider and stronger pickets.

The existing fence stands about 6-feet, 6 inches (1.83-meters) tall.

The Secret Service, which provides security protection for the president and the White House, declined to provide details of the state-of-the-art security features it says will be part of the new barrier.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Homicide victim, 71, stabbed 43 times
[TIMESLEADER] WILKES-BARRE PA — Joseph Monka was stabbed 43 times and then the people charged in the Edwardsville man’s death went on a spending spree, a court was told Friday.

Monka, 71, was viciously beaten ‐ rendering him nearly unrecognizable in the autopsy photograph shown during the preliminary hearings for his granddaughter, Gabriella Elizabeth Long, 17, Mercedes Lin Hall, 16, Christopher Brian Cortez, 19, and Devin Malik Cunningham, 20, held before District Judge James Haggerty at the Luzerne County Courthouse.

Assistant district attorneys Jarrett Ferentino and Brittany Quinn allege Cortez and Cunningham killed Monka on April 15 and the four made off with $30,000 from a safe in his basement.

A state police criminal investigator testified that the four spent lavishly with that cash, buying clothes, sneakers, manicures and more.

The most graphic testimony, however, concerned the brutality of Monka’s death.

Forensic pathologist Dr. Gary Ross testified Monka sustained 43 stab wounds, 15 cuts and two lacerations in addition to numerous blunt injuries on his head, face, torso and legs. Ross said Monka’s jugular vein was severed that would have caused instant death, but he noted Monka also could have afrom two direct stab wounds to the heart or three stab wounds to his lungs and liver.

Ross also said Monka had defensive wounds on his hands and arms.

Long had previously lived with her biological father in Maine, and had resided with Monka since March 7.
Long, who previously lived with her biological father in Maine, had resided with Monka since March 7.
I'm guessing, on no particular evidence, that she lived with her father because Mom was bad news or dead or otherwise absent. Then she became too much for Pop to handle, so he sent her to live with Grampaw, while he joined the foreign legion or more likely went up the river again.
Trooper Shawn Cooney testified that Hall, during a second interview after her arrest, claimed she was with Long in a bedroom at the house listening to music when Cortez and Cunningham left.
Sure she was. Two guys in the house, but they weren't with them, nope. That's the way teenagers visit.
Hall told Cooney that Cortez and Cunningham were gone for 30 minutes to one hour before she went looking for them.
"Duh... Where'd the guys go?"
"Thought they went to take a leak?"
"It's been a half hour."
"Maybe they hadda do number two."
"That'd account for the screams. Yup Yup."

Cooney testified Hall told him she knocked on Monka’s bedroom door and Cortez opened it covered in blood.
"Why you covered in blood, Cortez?"
"Cut myself shaving.”
"You shave?"

Monka’s body was found in a bedroom of his 30 Arch St. residence on April 17 by Edwardsville police Det. Michael Lehman, who responded to the house for a report of an unresponsive man.
Who reported it?
Lehman said there was blood "everywhere" in the bedroom and a television cabinet was on Monka’s lower half of the body.
"Quick, man! Hide da body!"
"Here. Help me put dis Motorola Quasar thing over him!"

Prosecutors suspect Monka was killed two days earlier.

Trooper Edward Urban testified Long, Hall and Cortez were locked away
Stick 'em up! Yer under arrest!
when they emerged from a motel room at the Red Roof Inn in Plains Township on April 17, minutes after Monka’s 2016 Kia Soul was found unattended in a parking lot. Cunningham was captured April 25 at his mother’s home in Fairfax, Va.
"Hi, Ma! Mind if I come visit for a few days?"
"Da house is full, Devin Malik!"
"Dat's okay. I can stay in da closet!"

Urban testified that after Monka was killed, the four slept in the Kia at a park because no one had identification to rent a motel room.
They were 16, 17, 19, and 20. Why would any of them have an ID? More likely, they didn't have a credit card among them that wasn't the old man's.
Urban said Cortez on April 16 gave a friend $3,000 to get a room at the Red Roof Inn.
"Why sure, Christopher Brian. I'll be happy to put a room at the Red Roof in on my credit card for you for $3,000... heh heh... Hello? Is dis da cops?... Lissen, dis is Mahmoud da Weasel!..."
Shortly after Long, Hall and Cortez were arrested, Urban said store receipts and shopping bags were found in their motel room, which prompted Sherlocks to retrieve surveillance video from the Wyoming Valley Mall.

During interviews with Long and Hall, Sherlocks allegedly learned they purchased clothes and sneakers at the mall and Hall got a manicure. They discarded their old clothes in garbage cans at the mall.
"Huh huh! No one will ever know!"
"Nope nope!".

Urban said they tracked the mall’s garbage container and searched at a landfill, finding old sneakers that were placed in a box for new sneakers and clothing.
"Here! Put yer blood soaked old sneakers in dis box!"
"Dat box is fer new sneakers!"
"Yeah! Dat's just it! Dey'll never guess!"

"A significant amount of money was spent, they spent thousands," Urban said, noting Sherlocks were continuing to account for all the spending.
"Cash purchases, officer? Nobody uses cash anymore... But wait! There were these four teenagers. They were covered with blood. That's how I remember them!"
Friday’s hearing was nearly continued when prosecutors announced they added charges of robbery and criminal conspiracy to commit robbery against the four.
"Well, yeah. They took the money out of the poor old guy's safe. Add the robbery charge to the murder charges, just in case."
The added charge before the hearing caused Cortez’s attorney, David V. Lampman II, to claim prosecutors "ambushed us," with Attorney John Pike, co-defending Long with Attorney Mary Deady, saying it altered their defense strategy.
"I mean, murder, yeah. We wuz expecting dat! But robbery! Wowzers! Never saw it comin'!"
Lampman and Pike requested a continuance while Hall’s attorneys, Lawrence Kansky and Joann Smith, and Cunningham’s attorney, Allyson Kacmarsky, said they were ready to proceed with the hearing.
"Wait a minute! Robbery's not as bad as murder!"
"Yeah, it is!"
"Is not! Where'd you go to law school?"

Haggerty delayed the start of the hearing for one hour allowing defense lawyers to privately meet with their clients and review the added robbery charge.
"Is too!"

Shingal welcomes 13 Yezidis back from al-Hol camp in Syria
The slow emptying of the SDF’s prison camps continues apace.
[Rudaw] A group of 13 Yezidis arrived in Shingal on Thursday after nearly five years of being held captive by the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) and then fleeing to the safety of al-Hol camp.

"They separated us from our mothers and took us to different places. Later, they took us to Raqqa and forced us to go to Aleppo to fight. Wherever we were, they trained us and taught us to learn about guns and Koran," Hazim Hussein, a 16-year-old told Rudaw.

He was among the 12 other Yezidis from five villages in Shinal who were reunited with family members.

Hussein was held by the turbans across Syria before ending up in their last holdout of al-Baghouz. He was then transported to al-Hol refugee camp when the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) liberated the area.

"The [Islamic] state got smaller and smaller until it was pushed to Baghouz. We left there and went with the Syrian Democratic Forces," he said.

Some like Yusra Mustafa have forgotten their native mother-tongue language of Kurdish and only could speak Arabic.

"I haven’t seen my family yet. But thank God those who are here did their best for me. I don’t know where my family is," said Yusra Mustafa.

Several member of her family are unaccounted for or no longer in Shingal.

"My brother is missing; I know nothing about my father who was kidnapped in Shingal. I also know nothing of my mother. I think one of my brothers is in Shingal. He’ll come to take me today or tomorrow. One of my sisters is in Germany," she added.

The Yezidi Party for Freedom and Democracy (PADE) has created 2 teams in northeast Syria, known by Kurds as Rojava. They search for missing Yezidis.

Their office told Rudaw nearly 300 Yezidis are still in al-Hol.

"The teams face some difficulties in convincing them to return because they don’t believe that the Yezidi community still exists," PADE leader Omer Salih said.

"They have been told [by ISIS] that Yezidis have all died and they are kafirs (infidels). They don’t want to return. It may take 15-20 days to convince them that their parents are alive and to return," he added.

Of the 6,417 Yezidis kidnapped by ISIS, some 3,369 have been rescued, but the fate of the remaining 2,992 is unclear, according to Yezidi Affairs Office in the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowment.

Thousands more are thought to lie undiscovered, as UN, Iraqi, and local teams work to exhume mass graves in Shingal.

Shingal remains a disputed territory claimed by the Iraqi federal government and Kurdistan Regional Government. The area is northwest of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
city in Nineveh and Duhok provinces and is alongside the border with Syria.

Belgian prosecutors drop case against cafe owner who welcomed dogs, but not Jews
[IsraelTimes] Ottoman Turkish business owner put up sign in 2014, weeks after a terrorist killed four at a Belgium Jewish museum.

Prosecutors in Belgium dropped criminal complaints against a Ottoman Turkish cafe owner who put up a sign banning Jews.

A cafe in the town of Saint-Nicolas had displayed a sign saying dogs are welcome at his business, "but Jews are not."

The La Dernière Heure newspaper on Friday reported that the Prosecutor’s Office in Liege dropped discrimination charges filed in 2014 against the owner, who was not named in the report.
“You know how it is: first you let in the Joos, and then following behind them come the jihadis, blowing things up. It’s nothing personal — I just don’t want to redecorate the joint again.”
Joel Rubinfeld, the president of the Belgian League Against Anti-Semitism told the paper that he was "disgusted and deeply disappointed" by the decision, which a spokesperson for the prosecutor’s office confirmed to the newspaper but declined to explain.

The sign prompted protests internationally and in Belgium, where an Islamist had killed four people at the Brussels Jewish museum just weeks earlier.

The Ottoman Turkish text of the sign read, "Dogs are allowed in this establishment but Jews are not under any circumstances." The French text replaced "Jews" with "Zionists."

The window display, put up while Israel was fighting Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, in Gazoo, also included a Paleostinian flag, an Israeli flag crossed out with a red "X" and a kaffiyeh, or Paleostinian shawl, draped around it.

Saint-Nicolas Mayor Jacques Heleven dispatched police to the cafe when word of the display got out. He said that such anti-Semitism was "unacceptable."

But Rubinfeld told La Dernière Heure that the case’s closing shows that "the fight against racism, including anti-Semitism, remains in the rhetorical realm."

Israel claims anti-aircraft missiles fired into occupied Golan from Syria
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) claimed this evening that a number of anti-aircraft missiles were fired into the occupied Golan Heights region from Syria.

The IDF alleged that the anti-aircraft missiles were specifically fired towards Mount Hermon (Jabal Sheikh), which is the same site they previously claimed was attacked by projectiles from Syria.

Israel holds the Syrian military responsible for all such attacks, even if the latter is not involved.

The Israeli military will likely respond in the coming hours, as they have in the past. They will most likely target a Syrian air defense site inside western Damascus or the al-Quneitra Governorate.

The Israeli military has already bombed Syria on two separate occasions this month, with the last attack resulting in the partial destruction of the T-4 Airbase in eastern Homs.

Turkish-backed rebels hit Syrian jet with anti-aircraft missile in Idlib
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Ottoman Turkish-backed National Liberation Front
...the Turkic paramilitaries intended to replace with their native jihadi ferocity all the highly trained Turkish soldiers Sultan Erdogan I the much beloved has jailed in the last few years for not worshipping the ground he walks upon. The Uighurs and so forth who did not join Al Nusra or ISIS seem to have ended up here...
(NLF) struck a Syrian fighter jet with an anti-aircraft missile (i.e. MANPADS) while it was flying a sortie over the Idlib Governorate on Friday.

According to a military report, the Ottoman Turkish-backed rebels clipped a Syrian Air Force Su-22 jet in southwest Idlib, but the fighter pilot was able to maintain control of the warplane and return the aircraft to its home base.

The Ottoman Turkish-backed rebels, specifically the Free Syrian Army
... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund...
(FSA), have used MANPADS in the past to shoot down Syrian Air Force jets and helicopters.

While it is not clear where the murderous Moslems received all of the MANPADS in their arsenal, some of them were seized from the Syrian military during the first years of the conflict.

The bad boy MANPADS have proven effective in the past, especially against some of the Syrian Air Force’s older aircraft.

Syrian Army retakes first town lost to jihadist forces in northwest Hama
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a counter-offensive in northwestern Hama this morning after losing several areas to the jihadist rebels overnight.

Led by the Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army began the counter-offensive by launching a heavy attack on the town of Kafr Houd.

According to a source near the front-lines, the Syrian Arab Army was able to retake Kafr Houd after a short battle with the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham
.

The source added that the jihadist rebels are not putting up much of a fight around Tal Malah, as they have mostly pulled back their troops after a successful attack last night.

Should the jihadist rebels lose all the territory they gained last night, their offensive would still be considered successful. The bully boyz managed to kill over 30 soldiers from the Syrian Arab Army and National Defense Forces, giving them a major morale boost after several setbacks in northwestern Hama.

We Will Lay Siege to Rome, Turn White House Black, Impose Jizya Tax on London, and Pray on the Slopes of the Rockies and Andes
[MEMRI.ORG] Paleostinian Sheikh Abu Hanifa Awda said in an address at the al-Aqsa Mosque that was uploaded to the Internet on June 2, 2019 that Jerusalem is the "heartland" where the banners of the Caliphate will flutter, where military convoys and brigades will assemble, and where policies will be designed in order to herald the "dawn of justice" and the birth of the Islamic Caliphate. Sheikh Awda said that the "army of Islam" will set forth from Jerusalem to conquer to world and that it will have a brigade dedicated to each of these tasks: the liberation of Paleostine, the "ravaging of the homes," the destruction of the enemies' property, the taking of Dire Revenge against Bashir al-Assad and Russia, the liberation of all the plundered Moslem countries, the laying of siege to Rome, the turning black of the White House, the imposition of the jizya poll tax on London, and the praying at the slopes of the Rocky Mountains and the Andes in order to fend off fear and danger.

Jihadists launch new attack to capture key town in northwest Hama
[ALMASDARNEWS] The jihadist rebels launched a new attack in the northwestern countryside of the Hama Governorate on Friday, targeting the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions at the town of Kernaz.

Led by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham
, the jihadist rebels began their attack by storming the Syrian Arab Army’s positions at both al-Hamamiyat and Kernaz.

A fierce battle would ensue following the start of the jihadist offensive; this prompted the Syrian military to send several units of reinforcements to Kernaz to prevent the area from falling to HTS.

According to a field source, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies from the National Defense Forces (NDF) were able to forestall the intended jihadist advance, while also killing several members of HTS and Jaish al-Izza.

This latest offensive by the jihadist rebels came just 15 hours after their first operation to capture to advance towards the Christian town of Mhardeh in northwestern Hama.

Russian forces withdraw from base in northern Hama after jihadist attack
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Russian troops have withdrawn from their base in Tal Salba this evening after the jihadist rebels launched several artillery shells towards their positions.

According to a report from the front, the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham
began hammering the Russian base at Tal Salba in northern Hama after seizing several sites from the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).

The Russian Air Force has responded to these attacks by launching heavy Arclight airstrikes over the Hama-Idlib axis; this has temporarily halted the jihadist shelling on the Tal Salba area.

The Russian military has a large presence inside the towns of Mhardeh and al-Sqaylabiyeh; it is very unlikely that they will be withdrawing from these government strongholds, as thousands of civilians live there.

IDF says it foiled attempt to smuggle rocket material to Gaza by boat
[IsraelTimes] Four suspects locked away
Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out!
in May while trying to sail out of Strip, accused of heading for Egypt as part of plan to bring in fiberglass, used in making missiles.

The Israeli military said it foiled an attempt by the Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw, terror group to smuggle material into the Gazoo Strip to be used for building rockets.

The army said four suspects were arrested last month after trying to break a maritime blockade on the coastal enclave and reach Egypt in two boats.

The incident occurred on May 11, but was only cleared for publication on Friday.

According to a statement released by the Israel Defense Forces, the four were attempting to reach the coast of Egypt’s Sinai peninsula, where they were to pick up 24 drums of fiberglass material.

The army said the material, which is forbidden to import into the Strip, was to be used by Hamas, the terror group that is the de facto ruler of the Strip, to build rockets.
"We wuz gonna make surfboards!"
The military released an edited video showing the operation to stop the boats, including a high-speed chase on the water off the Strip.

The four were charged with a raft of terror-related charges, including conspiring to commit murder, according to the military statement.

There was no immediate response from Hamas or Egypt.

The alleged smuggling attempt came less than a week after Hamas and other Paleostinian terror groups in the enclave fired almost 700 rockets into Israel during a major flare-up of violence between the sides on May 4 and 5.

This week the Wall Street Journal reported that Hamas had managed to replenish its rocket arsenal back to around 10,000 following the fighting, which saw the group attempt to overwhelm the Iron Dome anti-missile system with large concentrated volleys of rocket fire.

Israel maintains a maritime blockade on the Strip and tightly controls land crossings into the enclave in an attempt to keep Hamas and other terror groups from building up military capabilities.

US Military Says Six ISIL Militants Killed In Puntland Airstrike
[RADIOSHABELLE] The latest airstrike by US forces in Somalia has left 6 Al Shabaab militants dead.
Or maybe it was ISIS.
Officials say the airstrike was launched in the remote part of the Golis Mountains where the militants have set up cells.
They wore turbans, anyway.
In a statement, the US Africa Command said this is the seventh airstrike in a month against the ISIS-Somalia and Al-Shabaab.
And they were waving guns.
U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. William West, who is the deputy director of operations, U.S. Africa Command said they will continue piling pressure on the terrorist networks in Somalia, to enable governance to take hold.
They were standing in line so they could touch a camel...
He said the continued precision airstrikes support Somali security forces efforts to protect the Somali people from terrorism and support long-term security in the region.
...on its butt.

Jihadists capture strategic area to cutoff Syrian Army supply route in northwest Hama
[ALMASDARNEWS] A new jihadist offensive in northwestern Hama has caught the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) off guard as the latter has lost a key area between the towns of al-Sqaylabiyeh and Mhardeh.

According to a military source in Mhardeh, the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham
stormed the small town of Jibeen and nearby hilltop of Tal Malah this evening in a bid to cut off the government supply line between the two towns.

Following a short battle, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham managed to capture Jibeen from the Syrian Arab Army, while also reaching the key hilltop of Tal Malah.

As a result of this jihadist attack this evening, the Syrian Arab Army was forced to close the main road from Mhardeh to al-Sqaylabiyeh.

Intense festivities are now ongoing at Tal Malah as the jihadists attempt to push further west towards the main government lines in northwestern Hama.

Jihadists seize key hilltop as they approach large Christian town in northwestern Hama
[ALMASDARNEWS] The jihadist rebels have seized an imperative hilltop that overlooks the main road between two Syrian government strongholds in northwestern Hama.

Led by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham
, the jihadist rebel began their offensive this evening by storming the small town of Jibeen in the northwestern countryside of the Hama Governorate.

Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham managed to overpower the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) troops that were positioned at Jibeen, forcing the latter to fall back towards the town of Mhardeh.

Following the capture Jibeen, the jihadist rebels began their attack on the key hilltop of Tal Malah; this prompted a heavy firefight between HTS and the Syrian Army.

Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham ultimately took control of Tal Malah after killing several members of the Syrian Arab Army and National Defense Forces (NDF).

The jihadist rebels are now pushing towards the government stronghold of Mhardeh, which is home to tens of thousands of people, including many displaced people from the area.

14 lions on the loose in South Africa
[Dhaka Tribune] A pride of 14 undocumented lions is on the loose near a mining community bordering South Africa's Kruger National Park, officials said Friday, and warned members of the public to be welcoming alert.

The lions have been spotted roaming around the Foskor phosphate mine outside the town of Phalaborwa on the western boundary of the famed wildlife park, which is fenced in.
Dat's because South Africans is racist.
It is suspected the big cats beat feet from the park to seek a new life, said the government of the northern Limpopo province, which has allocated rangers to monitor the pride while officials decide where to deport send them.

"Employees at Foskor Mine and members of the public are hereby advised to be alert at all times," the provincial department of environment and tourism said in an online statement immediately denounced by the Limpopo Lions' Club.

It said a meeting of government and park officials had concluded that the lions must be captured and released into the Kruger National Park.
"How do you capture a lion?"
"Carefully. Very carefully."

But park front man Ike Phaahla said this was not feasible, as the new arrivals "will continually break out as other dominant lions will be mean to them chase them out."
