[Daily Star - hold the salt] Kim Jong-un has become a real-life Bond villain after executing one of his generals by throwing him into a piranha-filled fish tank. North Korea's tyrant ordered his death after he was accused of planning a coup.
Kim had a giant fish tank built inside Ryongsong Residence, one of his presidential palaces, after ordering aides to develop new methods of execution.
The victim's arms and torso were cut open with knives before he was thrown into the tank. "Hans Brix"
Sources said it was unclear whether the general was killed by the fish, died from his wounds or drowned.
The researchers are believed to have come up with several execution methods designed to scare potential plotters.
It is believed they got the idea from the 1977 James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me, in which the villain Karl Stromberg executes opponents by dropping them into a shark-filled aquarium. "Mwahahahaha!"
Kim's aquarium is filled with several hundred piranhas imported from Brazil. They have razor-sharp teeth and are capable of stripping flesh from a corpse in a matter of minutes
Other execution methods have included blasting traitors to pieces with an anti-tank gun, feeding them alive to tigers, beheadings, hangings and burning prisoners to death with flame throwers.

Are we going to see this general walking about somewhere?

You need at least 25-30 gallons of water per fish. Piranha only of a certain variety are extremely carnivorous, and when agitated may bite something to death even when not hungry. Importantly, a school of piranha has to be maintained carefully, monitoring their aggressiveness toward each other 24/7, because the moment one fish rubs another the wrong way, it all turns to a destruction derby of fins and teeth. Only an idiot would put so many of the same variety in a single tank.
This approach is stupid and pointlessly sadistic, not to mention criminally expensive and wasteful. The best way to dispose of anti-nationals is a complete medical, harvest of blood, organs, bones and incineration of waste. The method of execution is not what deters men, it is the certainty of it.

[RedState] Late Friday night, we got a document dump from the FBI dealing with the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s illegal email server.
While we’ve already gotten ample evidence that she absolutely should have been charged for her mishandling of classified information, these latest revelations are still pretty mind-blowing. After you read them, you are left asking yourself how it was possible that she wasn’t indicted.

Back in the day, the Reverend Pat Robertson kerfuffed the nation by making the following claim about feminism:
[I]t is about a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians.
Today, the religion writer Tara Isabella Burton ‐ an Oxford PhD whom I met at Walker Percy Weekend ‐ published a fascinating piece about the rise of occultism among Millennial progressives, that ends with this killer graf:
Back in 1992, Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson warned of the dangers of feminism, predicting that it would induce "women to leave their husbands. . . .practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians." Many of today’s witches would happily agree.
Her reported piece actually justifies this surprising conclusion. She didn’t write it from a particular political point of view, let me be clear. She told me at the festival that this piece was coming. She said that she had spent a lot of time reporting it by hanging out with people in that world, and asking them what drew them to the occult, and why they believe that occult belief and practice can and should be fused with political commitment. I swear, reading this is like encountering the photonegative of the Religious Right. Excerpts: A$$holes just don't grasp the idea of TANSTAFL.

[Breitbart] Three miles of new bollard wall border barrier will be built in the Rio Grande Valley Sector under a contract awarded on May 28 by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The construction will take place in a currently unsecured portion of Starr County, Texas, near Rio Grande City.
CBP officials announced the award of a construction contract to Kiewit Infrastructure West Co. for $42,860,000 to build a three-mile section of 18-30 foot bollard wall segments. The contract also calls for the installation of detection technology, lighting, and new roads for Border Patrol access, according to information obtained from CBP officials.
Officials stressed that the funding for this construction project is not pursuant to the National Emergency Declaration and does not include any diverted funds from any other source of funding. Specifically, they stated the funds are not coming from the Department of Defense or Treasury Department budgets.
Because of restrictions place by Congress in the FY19 fiscal appropriations bill, “border wall construction will not take place at the Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge, La Lomita Historical Park, Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park, within or east of the Vista del Mar Ranch tract of the Lower Rio Grande Valley National Wildlife Refuge, or the National Butterfly Center,” officials reported.
The Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol Sector is consistently the busiest in the nation, according to the Southwest Border Migration Report from CBP. More than 40 percent of all illegal immigrants are apprehended in this sector. The sector is also responsible for 43 percent of all marijuana seized by Border Patrol agents and is the second busiest for cocaine. Despite this, large portions of the sector remain unsecured by any type of physical barrier.
The contract calls for construction to begin in August 2019.

This is not good, people. The bollard type fence is to prevent only vehicles from crashing through. Wildlife, whose habitat often spans both sides of the border, can easily pass. So can people. In a single file, they'll still be coming in.

Ebola cases in the Congo are increasing. Also ISIS is expanding in the Congo.
There should have been a heads up. 350 people don't board a ship or planes and just show up without someone knowing. Moreover, the cost of getting from the Congo to Mexico must be significant. Who's footing the travel costs. Make speaking English a requirement for entry into the U.S.

A useful map — unless one is red/green colourblind — can be seen here.
[AlMasdar] The jihadist and Ottoman Turkish-backed rebels have suffered heavy casualties over the last 72 hours, as their latest offensive in northwestern Hama has turned into a complete blood bath.
According to a Syrian Arab Army (SAA) field report, their troops have killed over 150 fighters from Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham , the National Liberation Front ...the Turkic paramilitaries intended to replace with their native jihadi ferocity all the highly trained Turkish soldiers Sultan Erdogan I the much beloved has jailed in the last few years for not worshipping the ground he walks upon. The Uighurs and so forth who did not join Al Nusra or ISIS seem to have ended up here... , and Jaish al-Izza.
Among the 150 hard boyz killed in northwestern Hama were three commanders from Jaish al-Izza. The commanders were identified by the group as the former Syrian National Team goalkeeper Abdel-Bassit Sarout, Yasser al-Hilal, and Mohammad Khaled al-Sabbagh.
While Jaish al-Izza has suffered a tremendous blow to their military command, it is Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham that has lost the most combatants since Thursday’s offensive.
A source from the Syrian military said more than half the krazed killer casualties were members of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham; this includes a large number of foreign combatants as well.
In regards to the Syrian Arab Army’s casualties, they too have suffered a large number of losses in their ranks. The Syrian Army has lost at least 50 soldiers in the last 72 hours, with most of their casualties coming during the first hours of the jihadist offensive.
The battle in northwestern Hama is still ongoing at this time, as both warring parties trade offensives to regain territories they have lost in the last 72 hours.
[AlMasdar] For the second time in the last 24 hours, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has launched a counter-offensive to reclaim the territory they lost in the northwestern countryside of Hama.
Backed by heavy Russian airstrikes, the Syrian Army began their assault by storming the large hilltop of Tal Malah. This attack resulted in a series of intense clashes that are still ongoing at this time.
According to a military source in the town of Mhardeh, the Syrian and Russian air forces are peppering the militant-held towns of Al-Latamneh, Kafr Zita, Zakat, and Jibeen in an attempt to weaken their resolve against the Syrian Arab Army.
While the Syrian Army Army was able to retake Kafr Houd on Friday morning, they failed to hold onto Tal Malah after launching a heavy assault on Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham’s defenses.
At the same time, the Syrian Army is attempting to fend off a jihadist assault on the key town of Kernaz in northwestern Hama. On Friday, the jihadist rebels launched an assault on this town, hitting the Syrian Army’s defenses with a VBIED during the first hours of the attack.
The Syrian military was able to forestall the jihadist advance at Kernaz, killing and wounding dozens of militants during the battle.
[AlMasdar] Militants from the *Hayat Tahrir al-Sham terror group launched an offensive late on Thursday. At least 500 holy warriors with the support of armored vehicles and tanks, attacked Syrian army positions near the towns of Jabin and Tal Melh, according to Maj. Gen. Viktor Kupchishin, commander of the Russian center for Syrian reconciliation.
"While repelling the attack, Syrian government forces killed over 120 holy warriors and destroyed five tanks, three IFV, nine off-road vehicles, a multiple-launch rocket system and two mortars", Kupchishin said at a daily briefing.
The Russian general also said that on 7 June armed opposition groups from the Idlib de-escalation zone launched attacks on the positions of government forces near the towns of Karnaz and Hamamiyat in Hama province.
According to Kupchishin, about 80 faceless myrmidons and seven pickup trucks participated in the attack on Karnaz. About 60 faceless myrmidons took part in the attack on Hamamiyat with the support of two tanks, an IFV and a pickup truck.
"While repelling the attacks by armed opposition groups, the Syrian Arab Republic armed forces destroyed more than 20 holy warriors, a tank and two pickup trucks", he concluded.
In early May, holy warriors increased the frequency of attacks on the Syrian provinces of Hama, Aleppo, and Latakia. They also attempted attacks on Syrian army positions in the region. Government forces have responded by attacking terrorist formations in Idlib province. Syrian forces are targeting Nusra Front terrorist group depots, artillery positions, and observation posts.
Northwestern Idlib is reportedly still home to around 30,000 button men, including foreign mercenaries, and faceless myrmidons of the Nusra Front terror group.
The Idlib province is one of four designated de-escalation zones in the Syrian civil war in which government forces led by Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad Horror of Homs... and the opposition, including terrorist organizations, have been fighting since 2011. Russia, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...Qatar's colony in Asia Minor.... , and Iran act as the guarantors of the ceasefire in these zones.
Despite a countrywide ceasefire regime being established, violations by illegal armed formations in the Idlib de-escalation zone still occur.
[AlMasdar] The former goalkeeper for the Syrian National Team, ’Abdel-Bassit Sarout, reportedly succumbed to his wounds on Saturday after the fierce battle that took place in northwestern Hama earlier in the week.
According to opposition activists via social media, Sarout was badly maimed during the joint Jaish al-Izza/Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham offensive in northwestern Hama.
At first, many pro-opposition activists reported that the Jaish al-Izza
... part of the currently Turkish-backed Free Syrian Army...
commander would recover from his wounds; however, no status update was given on Sarout until this morning.
Sarout was a primary fixture in the early anti-government demonstrations in Syria, as the former goalkeeper would attend several protests in his home city of Homs.
Not long after the armed conflict broke out in Syria, Sarout joined the Free Syrian Army ... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund... during the battle of Homs.
Later, it was reported that Sarout had joined the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (ISIS/ISIS/IS/ISIS), but there was no definitive proof to corroborate the claims.
Prior to his death, Sarout was the commander of the powerful FSA faction, Jaish al-Izza; this rebel group was at the forefront of every battle against the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in northern Hama.
[AlMasdar] The Ottoman Turkish-backed National Liberation Front ...the Turkic paramilitaries intended to replace with their native jihadi ferocity all the highly trained Turkish soldiers Sultan Erdogan I the much beloved has jailed in the last few years for not worshipping the ground he walks upon. The Uighurs and so forth who did not join Al Nusra or ISIS seem to have ended up here... (NLF) struck a Syrian fighter jet with an anti-aircraft missile (i.e. MANPADS) while it was flying a sortie over the Idlib Governorate on Friday.
According to a military report, the Ottoman Turkish-backed rebels clipped a Syrian Air Force Su-22 jet in southwest Idlib, but the fighter pilot was able to maintain control of the warplane and return the aircraft to its home base.
The Ottoman Turkish-backed rebels, specifically the Free Syrian Army ... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund... (FSA), have used MANPADS in the past to shoot down Syrian Air Force jets and helicopters.
While it is not clear where the hard boyz received all of the MANPADS in their arsenal, some of them were seized from the Syrian military during the first years of the conflict.
The Death Eater MANPADS have proven effective in the past, especially against some of the Syrian Air Force’s older aircraft.

[AlMasdar] A media source told the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) on Friday that Syria has not restored relations with Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,, despite the claims by the Paleostinian group’s leader, Ismail Haniyah, earlier this month.
"The stance of Syria on this issue is principled," the SANA source said, adding "this stance, in the past, was built on the fact that Hamas was a resistance movement against ’Israel’, but, later it became clear that it is the blood of Moslem Brüderbund that dominates this movement when it supported the bully boyz in Syria and engaged in the scheme that ’Israel’ wanted."
The SANA source said that all the news circulated will never change Syria’s attitude towards those who have been rejected by the Syrian people since the beginning of the war.
Haniyah told Sputnik News in an exclusive interview that Hamas had accepted Syria’s view on the opposition groups.
Hamas, who is allied with Iran, cut off relations with Syria in 2012 after their then leader, Khaled Mesha’al, abruptly left Damascus for Qatar ...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi... Upon his arrival in Qatar, Mesha’al heavily criticized Damascus and adopted Doha’s narrative on the Syrian conflict.
Since then, Syria and Hamas have had strained relations, with the former shifting their primary support for the Paleostinian people to groups like the PFLP, PFLP-GC, PIJ, DFLP, and Fatah al-Intifada.

They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (ISIS) carried out another ambush in the Palmyra countryside this week, killing a number of soldiers in the process.
According to a field report from Palmyra, the Islamic State ambushed a Syrian Army vehicle as it was traveling south of the ancient city.
The report said the Islamic State ambush resulted in the death of at least three soldiers, including one officer.
The Islamic State has recently stepped up their attacks against the Syrian Arab Army and their allies in eastern Syria, killing more than 100 soldiers in the month of May alone.
In response to these ISIS attacks, the Syrian Arab Army has beefed up the number of military personnel around Palmyra; however, this has done little to deter the terrorist strikes.

[AMERICANTHINKER] The legal debris field has been cleared and the objections of Native American and environmentalist special interest groups nullified by a three-judge panel of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. The Washington Post reports:
A three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Thursday ordered dismissal of the lawsuit by environmental and Native American groups, saying President Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... had revoked a 2017 permit allowing the $8 billion pipeline to be built.
Trump later issued a new permit, and the appellate judges agreed with Justice Department attorneys who say that nullifies the legal challenge involving environmental impacts.

[DAWN] Top G20 finance officials agreed on Saturday that there was an urgent need to find a global system to tax internet giants like Google and Facebook but clashed on the best way to do it.
The G20 has tasked the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development to fix an international tax system that has seen some internet heavyweights take advantage of low-tax jurisdictions in places like Ireland and pay next to nothing in other countries where they make huge profits.
OECD chief Angel Gurria presented G20 finance ministers and central bank chiefs meeting over the weekend in the western Japanese city of Fukuoka with a "roadmap", already signed off by 129 countries, in a bid to clinch a long-term solution by 2020.
"We have to hurry up," stressed French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire during a panel discussion of top policymakers before the G20 meeting officially opened.
Le Maire called for a more ambitious timeframe to forge a global consensus, saying: "The right schedule is to find a compromise by the end of this year."
British Finance Minister Philip Hammond said taxing internet giants fairly was a response to something that is "perceived by our population to be a gross injustice in our tax system".

...Interesting situation - Oberlin actually has an $887M USD endowment, and even a worst case verdict would barely scratch that. The problem is that endowments tend to be reserved for specific purposes by the endowers. I don't think there's any legal barriers to them using endowment money to pay the damages, but first, they need to get permission to use said money from the people who donated it. Second, it sets a really, really bad precedent as far as using the money for 'emergencies'.

Bad things happen when educators forget that students are vermin.
The "educators" are vermin, trying to pass that along to their pliable mush brain "students." It's all a self-contained, self-absorbed cult. We will be hearing about how this decision is "chilling" to free speech from the same people who work overtime to chill free speech to absolute zero when they don't like what's being said.
Loren Visser lays it out in the first 50 seconds of this clip from Blood Simple.

[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] Samuel Little, 79, has been linked to more than 60 killings in at least 14 states
Little, also known as Samuel McDowell, claims to have killed more than 90 women all over the country between 1970 and 2005
Little was convicted of killing three Los Angeles-area women and pleaded guilty to killing a Texas woman, and is now serving life sentences in California
He has exhausted his appeals and is in failing health, which prosecutors credit with him being forthcoming about details of previously unsolved murders
50 cold homicide cases have been closed as a result of Little's confessions
Authorities think most of the remaining unsolved slayings occurred in California

Hard to walk away I suppose, once you get a taste for it.

The cases would gave remained unsolved if some intelligent person had not decided to run his DNA through the database, checking for all crimes. The sherlocks had actually brought him in for drugging out in a homeless shelter.

Well, it took almost a day for the US main stream media to get its narrative straight and release the name of the Virginia Beach murderer let alone provide a photo. So maybe, sarcasm aside, perhaps the Daily Mail DOES provide a service.

Especially odd, that delay, since the first few minutes of scanner audio posted to heavy.com early on contained this cryptic but perfectly audible reference to the suspect's identity: "Suspect is DeWayne Craddock."
[DAWN] Sri Lanka's President Maithripala Sirisena has told his cabinet that he will not cooperate with a parliamentary investigation into security lapses leading to the Easter suicide kabooms, official sources said on Saturday.
Sirisena summoned an emergency meeting of his cabinet on Friday night to oppose the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) probing the April 21 attacks that killed 258 people and maimed nearly 500.
A ministerial source told AFP that Sirisena has refused to allow any police, military or intelligence personnel to testify before the committee.
"The cabinet meeting ended inconclusively," the source said on condition of anonymity. "The government did not agree to suspend the PSC either."
Sirisena's office did not comment on the outcome of the heated cabinet meeting, but said the president had told senior coppers on Friday that he will not allow any serving officer to testify before the PSC.
Last week, Sirisena's intelligence chief Sisira Mendis told the committee that the president had failed to hold regular security review meetings to assess the potential threat from radicals.
Halfway through his testimony, the live telecast of the proceedings were stopped on Sirisena's orders, official sources said.
Sirisena's defence secretary and police chief have suggested that the president, who is also the minister of Defence and Law and Order, did not follow proper protocols in dealing with intelligence reports, including advance warnings about the April 21 bombings.
Sirisena has repeatedly denied he was aware of an impending threat.
A local terrorist organization and the bully boyIslamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... group grabbed credit for the attacks against three churches and three luxury hotels.
Sirisena said last week that he had met with the national police chief and his top brass 13 days before the Easter Sunday attacks but no officer had raised the warnings which had been relayed by India.
Official sources said New Delhi had provided details of planned attacks based on information from a terrorist in Indian custody.
The government has admitted there were intelligence failures before the attacks, in which 45 foreign nationals died.
Sirisena subsequently suspended police chief Pujith Jayasundara and dismissed his top defence official Hemasiri Fernando.

Despite a number of prior warnings and repeated requests by our ground agents to meet with him, he did not relent. And we practically installed the fucker.
What's even more shitty is that the prez is also the minister of both defense and law, putting home and army under the same klutz. He thought that it was a ploy by our "right-wing leaders to influence the social fabric" of Srilanka.
One reply that we got was something like this :
'We are a very ancient, secular and integrated society. People of all religions and languages have lived here peacefully for centuries (save a little genocidal civil war now and then). We don't need lessons from big brothers about how to handle our society. Our muslim population is very nice and we love it.'
While he was busy counting gifts from China and planning for his son's $ million wedding, the snakes were planning the attack.

2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots.... government has taken serious notice of manhandling of a woman allegedly by a traffic police official of Islamabad in the Police Lines, Rawalpindi.
A video on social media on Friday in which the woman was being dragged apparently by a plain-clothed traffic police official of Islamabad caught the attention of the Punjab government spokesperson Dr Shahbaz Gill who ordered an investigation into the incident.
Police front man said Arshad Gondal, associated with Islamabad traffic police as a fork lifter, was a complainant in a vehicle theft case registered with Sadiqabad in 2018 in which he had nominated three suspects.
He further said the investigating officer had declared all the three suspects innocent in the case.
The front man said the complainant Arshad Gondal filed an application with the SSP Investigation seeking fresh investigation into the case by some other officer.
The SP investigation had called both the parties including the suspects and the complainant to his office.
The woman, who is wife of one of the suspects, also accompanied them.
He said while Arshad Gondal was walking towards the parking area to get his cycle of violence, the woman had a quarrel with him and somebody made their video and uploaded it on social media.
The SSP Investigation while talking to Dawn had confirmed the incident.
He said when he heard screams, he immediately directed the police to take both the parties to the Civil Lines for "protective proceeding" and to take written compromise from them.
However, some people cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go... an investigation, headed by DSP Civil Lines had been ordered to ascertain the real circumstance in which they had a quarrel.
The Punjab government’s front man Dr Shahbaz Gill in his tweet said Chief Minister Usman Buzdar had directed the Rawalpindi district police to initiate an inquiry and take strict action against the police official involved in the incident.

Couple of random YT items recently stumbled across (if inappropriate here -- maybe there are English sites curating this stuff as it comes out that everyone knows about but me? -- please delete):
[Rudaw] Five Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) guerrillas were killed in recent Ottoman Turkish strikes, the party's armed wing announced Saturday, as the corpse count in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...Qatar's colony in Asia Minor.... ’s Operation Claw on Kurdistan Region soil continues to rise.
The five fighters, including one woman, were killed on June 2 during PKK-Turkey festivities in Khuakurk, Erbil governorate near the Turkey-Iraq-Iran border, the epicenter of Operation Claw, according to the statement.
The PKK’s armed wing has in recent days accused the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) of acting in "very serious" complicity in the large-scale Ottoman Turkish military offensive in the Region.
"If the South [Kurdistan Region of Iraq] authorities choose silence in this attack, then it likely means they are in agreement," Murat Karayilan, head of the PKK’s armed wing, told Firat News Agency.
In recent months, the KRG in Erbil and Iraqi central government in Baghdad have both called on Ankara to halt its military incursions while simultaneously and repeatedly demanding PKK withdrawal from their territory.
Karayilan also warned that offensives close to the border will not isolated in nature, instead forming part of a wider Ottoman Turkish invasion that will see the city of Kirkuk, ... a thick stew of Arabs, Turkmen, Kurds, and probably Antarcticans, all of them mutually hostile most of the time... home to a significant Turkmen population and often viewed as an extension of Turkey’s national imaginary, fall under Ottoman Turkish control.
Currently headquartered in the Qandil mountains in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, just south of Khuakurk, the PKK has fought a decades-long armed struggle against the Ottoman Turkish state for greater political and cultural rights for Kurds in Turkey.
Earlier this month, Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi met with Ottoman Turkish President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First ... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey... in Turkey, with discussions on increased cross-border security and intelligence partnerships high on the agenda.
While Turkey has repeatedly launched cross-border incursions and bombing raids against the PKK, Operation Claw is an escalation of unprecedented scale and extent.
Having entered its tenth day, the offensive shows no sign of abating. Turkey's Defense Ministry today announced the killing of two PKK fighters, bringing the corpse count to 46.
Four Ottoman Turkish soldiers have been killed since the offensive began on May 27, according to the same ministry.
Peshmerga fighters have also been caught in the crossfire of PKK-Turkey festivities during the Operation, with three maimed ‐ one critically ‐ when Ottoman Turkish jets bombed Khuakurk and its surrounding areas on Wednesday.
Operation Claw is targeting suspected PKK positions using a wealth of weaponry, including fixed wing aircraft, helicopters, artillery, ground forces and even the first reported use of a Ottoman Turkish-made ballistic missile.

[DW] Pia Klemp stands accused of aiding illegal immigration after she saved people from drowning in the Mediterranean. The Bonn native has accused Italian authorities of organizing "a show trial."
New rulers, new rules. And then there’s the whole learning from the past thingie...
In interview with the Basler Zeitung daily on Friday, Klemp said that a trial against her was due to begin soon after she and some of her compatriots were charged in Sicily with assisting in illegal immigration.
She said that she was told by her Italian lawyer that she could be looking at "up to 20 years in prison and horrendous fines."
Klemp added, however, that she intended to fight the case up to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, La Belle France, if she had to.
The 35-year-old Bonn native has been under investigation in Italia since her ship, the Iuventa, was impounded in the summer of 2017, and the government has moved to ban her from sailing around the Italian coast. According to German public broadcaster WDR, through the work on that ship and the Sea-Watch 3, Klemp has personally assisted in the rescue of more than 1,000 people at risk of drowning in unsafe dinghies as they attempted to cross to Europe ...also known as Moslem Lebensraum... in search of a better life.
SALVINI'S CRACKDOWN
An already immigrant-unfriendly government in Rome became even more so in June 2018, when newly appointed Interior Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini of the far-right League party promised a crackdown the likes of which modern Italia had never seen.
Since assuming office, Salvini has sought to put a stop to migrant rescue ships docking on Italian shores and allowing refugees to disembark. In January, the nationalist leader made headlines with the forced evacuation of hundreds of asylum-seekers from Italia's second-largest refugee center and his refusal to clarify where the people, many of whom had lived in Castelnuovo di Porto for years and become integrated into town life, were being taken.
Shortly thereafter, Sicilian prosecutors ruled that Salvini could be charged with kidnapping more than 177 migrants colonists left stranded on a ship he had ordered impounded.
'A YEARSLONG SHOW TRIAL'
What frustrates Klemp the most, she told the Basler Zeitung, is that the costs ‐ amounting to hundreds of thousands of euros ‐ that she has had to prepare to cover from her own savings and some new donations "for what is likely to be a yearslong show trial" require money that could have been spent on rescue missions.
"But the worst has already come to pass," she said. "Sea rescue missions have been criminalized."
For this, the captain blames not only the Italian government but what she sees as a failure of the European Union ...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing... "to remember its avowed values: human rights ...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty... , the right to life, to apply for asylum, and the duty of seafarers to rescue those in danger at sea."
Klemp added that "demagogues" such as Salvini, former Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz and German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer were effectively allowing thousands to perish in the Mediterranean each year.
She pushed back at criticism that rescue missions encouraged more people to attempt the highly dangerous crossing. "There are scientific studies that disprove the idea that sea rescues are a so-called pull factor," she said. "The people come because, unfortunately, there are so many reasons to flee." And if countries close their borders, "they come via the Mediterranean because there is no legal way to get here," she added.
To cover her potentially exorbitant legal costs, a bar in Bonn has announced a fundraising campaign to help Klemp. Cafe Bla has announced that for every patron who orders the "Pia beer," 50 euro cents will be donated to their former waitress.

M. Murcek,
You have no idea how right you are. I'm hearing that it takes almost three hours to completely reload a 300 or 400, and it's ALWAYS going to need to have all four tubes reloaded - the default setting for launching is two missiles at a time; you have to specifically override it to launch just one. It's unlikely at best that a Soviet/Syrian/Iranian/Generic Middle Eastern Bad Guy is going to do that, especially as Doctrine And Training says you launch two (not to mention spray and pray is pretty much unbreakable tradition in the Middle Eastern customers' countries) - having to explain to the boss why somebody got past one is probably going to lead to you having a case of the dead.

Once the SEAD mission moves to drone swarms backed up by a UCAV loaded with HARMs nobody will be able to field enough of these to matter.
My thought exactly!
If I may, for the non-War Nerds in the crowd:
Once the ENEMY AIR DEFENSE SUPPRESSION mission moves to drone swarms backed up by a UNMANNED COMBAT DRONE loaded with ANTI-RADAR MISSILES, nobody will be able to field enough of these to matter.
Apologies if that seems condescending, but this is important. Drone swarms, particularly autonomous ones, are a huge game-changer. Coming to a war theater near you.

Diyala (IraqiNews.com) – An Iraqi civilian was wounded Saturday in a bomb explosion in Diyala province, a local source was quoted as saying.
“An explosive charge went off today morning on the outskirts of Khanaqin city in northeastern Diyala, leaving a civilian wounded,” the source told the Mawazin News website.
Security forces opened a probe into the incident, he said, adding that the number of those wounded in the bomb attack is expected to rise.

OK, let's think this through. The Dems hired a consultant who ran some focus groups from which the consultant concluded that putting this position out there would help them take votes away from Trump. This is consistent with the basic Dem position that "Trump is a moron who is outsmarting us at every fork in the road."

[DAWN] Duesseldorf: A Tunisian man and his German wife will stand trial from on Friday, charged with planning a foiled biological kaboom in Germany with the deadly poison ricin.
Sief Allah H., 30, and his wife Yasmin,
...who apparently recently converted to Islam...
43, were placed in durance vile Book 'im, Mahmoud! a year ago by an anti-terrorist squad that found 84 milligrams of the toxin in their Cologne ...the largest city in North Rhine-Westphalia and the fourth populated city in Germany.... apartment.
The arrests likely prevented what would have been Germany’s first biological attack, said Holger Muench, head of the BKA Federal Criminal Police Office, at the time.
Federal prosecutors said the couple had "for a long time identified with the aims and values of the foreign terrorist organization Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... They decided in 2017 to detonate an explosive in a large crowd, "to kill and wound the largest possible number of people," said prosecutors ahead of the trial in Duesseldorf.
The pair had allegedly researched various forms of explosives before deciding on the deadly poison.
They ordered 3,300 castor beans over the internet and successfully made a small amount of ricin, a poison 6,000 times more potent than cyanide that can kill if swallowed, inhaled or injected, according to prosecutors.
Investigators also found 250 metal balls, two bottles of nail polish remover as well as wires soldered on lightbulbs.
Only the raid and arrests prevented "the production of a larger quantity of ricin and the building of an explosive," said prosecutors.
HAMSTER TEST
The couple were caught after a tip-off from the US Central Intelligence Agency, which had noticed the large online purchase of castor seeds, according to German media reports.
News weekly Der Spiegel has reported that the couple were believed to have already been radicalised when they met online in 2014.
Sief Allah H., a former street vendor and labourer in Tunisia, in 2015 married Yasmin H., an unemployed doctor’s assistant and mother of seven children from four different fathers, the report said.
Frau Yasmin is clearly a lady who knows what she likes, and also grasps firmly her prerogative to change her mind.
The husband had been in contact with radical Islamists and tried twice in 2017 to travel to Syria via The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the most dubious NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Originally it was a mutual defense pact directed against an expansionist Soviet Union. In later years it evolved into a mechanism for picking the American pocket while criticizing the cut of the American pants... ally.... His wife helped him with flight and hotel bookings, but both trips failed.
Sief Allah H. also volunteered to help the IS in their propaganda work, and did so in early 2018 by publishing material of the jihadist group online, said prosecutors.
Later, the couple decided to prepare an attack in Germany itself, and also bought a hamster to test the potency of the ricin.
"Very concrete preparations had been made for an act with a ... biological bomb, which is a first for Germany," said Muench.
If convicted of the charges of serious violence endangering the country, the defendants could each face up to 15 years in jail.
Two suspects were also arrested in August last year in Tunisia in connection with the case.
Oh? I don’t think we were aware of additional friends and relations of Herr und Frau H.

[ALMASDARNEWS] Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh has told SHANA news agency that the country is utilising unofficial channels to sell its oil, as the country’s energy sector was slapped with US sanctions in November 2018. The minister declined to specify how exactly the country is going through with the sales, citing the need to keep the method secret from Washington.
"We have unofficial or unconventional sales, all of which are secret, because if they are made known America would immediately stop them", he said.
The minister also commented on previous statements made by his deputy, who said that Tehran is selling its oil on what he called a "grey market". Zanganeh explained that the method Iran uses is somewhere between the transparent "white market" and the illegal "black market", which is akin to smuggling.
The US has recently intensified its efforts to bring the Iranian oil exports to "zero" having ended the sanctions waivers for eight states that were issued in November 2018 when the restrictions were imposed and introduced new sanctions against Iran’s Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (PGPIC).
Tehran responded to this by calling the sanctions against it a "defeated policy", noting that it had proved it ineffectiveness when carried out by previous administrations.
Washington imposed sanctions on the Islamic Theocratic Republic following its withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal ‐ an accord that lifted international sanctions from the country in 2015 in exchange for limitations on its nuclear programme. US President Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... argued that the deal was "flawed" and has demanded that a new and "better" agreement be reached. Iranian Oil Shipments Seem To Have Stopped In May
May 10, 2019 Radio Farda
No oil tankers have left Iranian loading ports since U.S. ended its sanctions waivers allowing a handful of countries to buy Iranian oil, Bloomberg reports.
Tanker tracking data cannot be fully accurate, as ships can turn off their transponders making them invisible to tracking systems, but so far, no tanker has been observed leaving port or on open seas moving toward one of Iran’s main customers; such as China and India.
[AlAhram] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire.... ’s Defense Ministry said on Saturday a total of 43 members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) had been "neutralized" so far as part of an operation Ankara launched in northern Iraq 13 days ago.
The Ottoman Turkish military launched what it dubbed "Operation Claw" in northern Iraq’s Hakurk region, on June 27 with artillery and air strikes followed by operations by commando brigades.
The PKK bad boy group is based in northern Iraq, notably in the Qandil region to the south of Hakurk. Ankara said the operation aimed to destroy shelters and caves used by the PKK and "neutralize" its members - a term it commonly uses to refer to deaths, but also to those maimed or captured.
"43 PKK murderous Moslems have been neutralized as part of Operation Claw, which has continued successfully for 13 days in the Hakurk region of northern Iraq," the ministry said in a statement on Saturday.
It said 53 mines and improvised bombs had been destroyed and 74 caves and shelters used by the PKK were made unusable, adding that it had also seized weapons and ammunition belonging to the bad boys.
Defense Minister Hulusi Akar has said the operation would continue in the region until "the last terrorist is neutralized".
Separately, two PKK members, one of whom was on Turkey’s wanted list, were "neutralized" in Turkey’s southeastern Diyarbakir province, the Interior Ministry said.
Another PKK member was tossed in the slammer Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un! in Diyarbakir at a traffic checkpoint, the local gendarmarie said.
Turkey’s pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), the third largest in parliament, has said such operations created crises and that tens of similar operations in the past had not created a solution.
Except that the objective of the operations is as much to reduce the Kurdish breeding population as it is to get actual members of the PKK.

Term limits. Donations capped at $200 / person / year. No PACs. No corporate money. Any "war chest" remainder goes to pay down the national debt. lifetime ban on revolving door lobbyist jobs. Skip-a-generation rule to prevent political dynasties. No paid speeches. No book deals.

[AlAhram] The chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) filed a request on Friday seeking to overturn the rejection of her planned investigation into war crimes in Afghanistan allegedly committed by both Taliban ...mindless ferocity in a turban... Death Eaters and U.S. troops.
In April, the court refused lead prosecutor Fatou Bensouda’s request to open an investigation into alleged atrocities by all sides during the nearly two-decade conflict.
Bensouda’s new filing, which will be heard by a trial court, was the first step in the legal process to appeal the refusal.
ICC prosecutors had identified the Taliban and its affiliates, the Afghan authorities, and members of the U.S. armed forces and Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) as potential perpetrators of crimes under the court’s statute.
The court’s decision to block an investigation "affects not only the outcome of any trial but also the very possibility of a trial occurring," the filing said. Yeah. That's kinda the point, Bitch
Prosecutors had said there were preliminary grounds to believe U.S. forces committed war crimes in Afghanistan and at CIA detention facilities elsewhere in 2003 and 2004.
The alleged atrocities took place in all 34 of Afghanistan’s provinces, with a smaller number of crimes alleged in Poland, Lithuania and Romania, where suspected members of the Taliban or al Qaeda were held for questioning.
But the case has triggered a strong backlash from the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... . In April, the U.S. revoked the entry visa of the prosecutor and has threatened to do the same against court personnel.
[IsraelTimes] David Friedman tells NY Times: Trump peace plan unlikely to quickly enable a permanent solution, won’t be released at all if deemed likely to ’make things worse’.
The US ambassador to Israel said he believes the Jewish state has the right to annex at least "some" of the West Bank, in comments likely to deepen Paleostinian opposition to a long-awaited US peace plan.

If the past predicts the future, just about any plan will set Moslem hair on fire and calls for destruction to Israel and the U.S.A.
[BIZPACREVIEW] A woman from Brooklyn says she thinks she was poisoned at the same Dominican Republic resort where three U.S. citizens died last month, according to the Daily News.
In October of last year, Awilda Montes and her boyfriend were at the Luxury Bahia Principe Bouganville. She told the Daily News that she took a drink from a bottle of what she thought was soda that was in the minibar in her room. Fortunately, she swallowed just a bit before spitting it out. She found blood in the sink, smelled the bottle and quickly realized it was bleach, she said.
Until news came out about the three deaths at the same resort in May, she believed that her episode was unintentional and perhaps a mistake by a hotel maid.
"I thought the maid service, maybe to not carry the bleach bottle from room to room, would maybe put it into a smaller bottle," Montes told the Daily News. "Or maybe they were trying to take it home to clean their house."
"I honestly never imagined that somebody was trying to purposely do that until now, until watching the three deaths. Now I’m thinking had (the hotel) investigated this mystery, they would be alive."
Montes, 43, has to count herself fortunate that she did not swallow much of the liquid. "I noticed there was no fizz in it but I just figured it was Dominican soda, it was kind of flat. So I took a swig ... and luckily I kind of held it in my mouth a bit and I felt it burn. I swallowed a bit ... (then) ran into the bathroom and spit in the sink," she said.
Seeing blood in the sink, she turned to her boyfriend and said, "’I think this is bleach.’ And he smelled the bottle and he said, ’It is,'" according to The News. She reportedly called the front desk, and she was brought to a medical clinic. Somewhere along the way, someone took the soda bottle from her, she said.
Hotel management offered her a free couples massage and free dinner in return for her signature on a non-disclosure agreement. In agony, she rejected the offer.
Medical records provided to the News indicated "a pain in the dorsal and lateral region of the tongue, accompanied with vomiting ... with a frequency of two occasions following the (ingestion) of a liquid approximately thirty minutes ago."

Lots of questions. Isn't bleach white ? I haven't seen a clear bleach.
Is this where plebs go to feel rich ?
Also, the earlier attacks on people happened at the same place ? the FBI should have issued a travel advisory by now.

Here in the USA, bleach is available clear like water although there is a very strong chlorine smell with it, which makes it hard to drink it accidentally.

Regular bleach is about 5% sodium hypochlorite by weight. If ingested, it is recommended that a person rinse out their mouth with milk or water and then drink a glass of milk or water and call a poison control center. Often, a small amount of bleach is added to water to make it potable.
I doubt that it was household bleach that caused the two deaths.

Huh, WTF?!? I mean, yeah, all hotels put unsealed or uncapped bottles of bleach into the mini-bar.
I wonder if those medical records show a blood-alcohol content.
[PAGESIX] They’re seeing red in Vietnam over a daring model’s sparse sparkles.
Fashion designer Ngoc Trinh, 29, who showed up to Cannes last month in a glittering dress that barely concealed her intimate areas, is facing a fine in her home country after the eye-popping outfit caused outrage.
The form-fitting dress consisted of sheer material in a halter top which left Trinh’s nipples exposed. A shimmering string wove through the material, and a beaded skirt with a double thigh split left her rear end mostly uncovered.
The dress, which Trinh paired with spiky black heels, was “improper, offensive and has caused public outrage,” fumed Nguyen Ngoc Thien, Vietnam’s Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, according to a report.
The country has imposed penalties on folks who fail to cover up in public, but Trinh’s showing of so much skin has prompted calls from seething officials to change laws.
“She is not an artist that the ministry sent to the event. Her outfit was improper, offensive and has caused public outrage,” Thien told legislators at the National Assembly session in Hanoi, according to the Vietnam Express.
Folks back home had their own opinions of Trinh’s backless, sleeveless, thigh-high, see-through get up, the paper claimed.
Vietnam residents discussing the model’s controversial clothes deemed them “sexually explicit,” “weird” and “gross.”

She forgot to change out of her nightgown before going to the event? Sort of like the stereotypical dream of getting to work without remembering to put on ones pants.

A long time ago, but in this very galaxy, I knew a girl named Ngoc Hoa (Swan Flower). She was as graceful and even more lovely than Ngoc Trinh (Virtuous--or Chaste--Swan). Of course, she did steal my camera. But she was really, really talented.

[DAWN] HARIPUR: A shopkeeper in his 60s was caught and handed over to the local police for allegedly molesting a 10-year-old girl in a remote village of Shah Maqsood union council, police said here on Friday.
The police quoted Munir Hussain Shah of Changi Bandi village as alleging that on the Eid day his daughter went to a shop in the same locality to buy grocery items where the shop owner Tassadaq Hussain molested her.
He claimed that when the girl started crying the shopkeeper took out a knife threatening her that he would slit her throat if she told anybody about the incident.
According to the complainant, his daughter reached home in a bad condition and shared her ordeal with her parents.
After the incident, the area people went to the shop and overpowered the shopkeeper and handed him over to the local police.

[AlAhram] Security forces have killed four murderous Moslems in Arish in North Sinai, in pursuit of those involved in an attack on a security checkpoint on Wednesday.

Three automatic rifles and an boom belt were found in the hideout, the statement read.
[COMMDIGINEWS] The Prime Minister of Italia has fired two of the countries most powerful intelligence chiefs in a major shake-up. It was directly attributed to their participation with John Brennan and the CIA in using Joseph Mifsud to set up George Papadopoulos as a pretext for launching the great Russia Hoax of 2016.
The use of Italian intelligence agencies to spy on members of the Trump campaign have roiled the internal workings of the Italian government at the highest levels. Simply put, Joseph Mifsud, who is represented in the Mueller report on page one as a "Russian agent", is actually a senior Italian intelligence asset.
He works with British intelligence, the CIA and the FBI. Mifsud trains intelligence agents at a center for advanced intel studies in the hills above Rome. He is living there now. His rent is paid for by the institute.
This is the mysterious "Russian agent" that is at the very center of the "official" explanation of the origins of the Mueller probe.

I love this story.
I hope it is more than opinion.
A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
