ISIS is a bigger threat than the Taliban in Afghanistan and is using attacks in Kabul as 'practice runs' for bigger attacks in Europe and the US, American intelligence services warn

#2  Imagine an Afgh with Iran occupied, ISIS dominated, Taliban dominated, Al Q dominated and isolated Kabul. The various factions would be in continual conflict.

The population would suffer but it would be a winner for the west.

#3  If the west can insulate itself and protect their borders, isolating these countries with a complete travel ban and trade sanctions, yes. Also, keep their good intentions focused on domestic issues and strengthening executive control.

Let 'em all fester. It would be so much better to carpet bomb a place later, knowing that there's no one down there worth saving.

#4  You would have to ban travel from the surrounding 'stans and Iran as well to keep them isolated. Pakistan would be funding half the factions, Iran another half, the Saudis a third half, and the McCain family a fourth half.

China-Japan-Koreas
Kim Jong Un's half brother was reportedly a CIA source
[Market Watch] WASHINGTON ‐ Kim Jong Nam, the slain half brother of North Korea’s leader, was an informant for the Central Intelligence Agency who met on several occasions with agency operatives, a person knowledgeable about the matter said.

"There was a nexus" between the U.S. spy agency and Kim, the person said.

Kim, the half brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, was killed in Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia in February 2017, when two women smeared his face with the nerve agent VX. U.S. and South Korean officials have blamed the attack on North Korea, which it denies.

Many details of Kim’s relationship with the CIA remain unclear. Several former U.S. officials said the half brother, who had lived outside of North Korea for many years and had no known power base in Pyongyang, was unlikely to be able to provide details of the secretive country’s inner workings.

They also said Kim ‐ who resided mainly in the Chinese enclave of Macau ‐ was almost certainly in contact with security services of other countries, particularly China’s. The CIA declined to comment. Chinese officials didn’t respond to a request for comment. The fact that the CIA held meetings with the North Korean leader’s exiled half brother illustrates the lengths U.S. intelligence will go to gather information about the hermetic country.

An expanded version of this report appears on WSJ.com.

Clashes outside Hong Kong parliament as ‘over 1 million' march against extradition bill (VIDEOS)
[RT] Hong Kong police used batons and pepper spray as they clashed with crowds of protesters outside the city’s parliament. Hundreds of thousands filled the city’s streets to oppose a bill allowing extradition to mainland China.

Hundreds of protesters stormed police barricades on Sunday night while trying to force themselves into the city’s parliament building, local media reported. The officers, in full riot gear, pushed the crowd away using batons and pepper spray.

Clashes were also reported along the Admiralty section of the city’s business district where the parliament is based.

The violence occurred after nearly 10 hours of massive peaceful protests against the controversial extradition bill. The organizers estimate that over a million people marched down Hennessy Road in central Hong Kong, denouncing the proposed legislation.

Turkish pilots grounded from F-35 training as Ankara refuses to ditch S-400 – Pentagon
[RT] Turkish pilots have been banned from training on F-35s at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona, the Pentagon confirmed, as Washington steps up pressure on Ankara to force it out of S-400 air defense deal with Russia.

"The department is aware that the Turkish pilots ... are not flying," Pentagon spokesman, Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Mike Andrews, told Reuters.

Four Turkish pilots and 47 personnel were undergoing training at the facility in Arizona, where they were instructed by the US Air Force on how to maintain the fifth-generation jets ‐ four of which have already been ceremonially transferred to Turkey, without leaving the US soil though. Turkey planned to deploy the first batch of fighters by November, alongside the Russian S-400 air defense systems that are due for delivery in summer.

Terror Networks
Critical Threats Project: U.S. Counterterrorism Should Counter Jihadi Ideology
[Free Beacon] A recent report from the Critical Threats Project argues that U.S. counterterrorism strategy should be focused on separating vulnerable Sunni countries from the Salafi-jihadi movement.

"The center of gravity at the strategic level is the vanguard’s connection with local populations that transforms it from an isolated and ineffective elite into the leadership of a large and dangerous movement. The vanguard builds this relationship with Sunni communities by providing them with security, justice, basic goods, or services or through other means."

The Critical Threats Project was created by the American Enterprise Institute. The report was authored by AEI research fellow Katherine Zimmerman.

The report states that the Salafi-jihadi movement is "the collection of individuals, groups, and organizations operating in pursuit of shared overall goals. This ideology combines the Salafi trend within Islam‐the return of religious practices to the days of early Islam‐and a jihadi belief that the use of armed force is incumbent on Muslims to restore this practice within Muslim lands and then to spread it globally."

According to the report, current U.S. counterterrorism strategy has been "a global and unwinnable game of whack-a-mole," focused on the most prevalent terrorist threat at a given moment instead of targeting the ideology fueling the rise of each threat.

The report also states that this strategy focus does not call for massive American military deployment, noting that previous efforts "required a large American military force in Iraq, a smaller one in Afghanistan, and a very limited US footprint in Yemen. Progress against the vanguard in Somalia, although more limited, occurred with virtually no US boots on the ground."

According to the Associated Press, the Islamic State is expanding its reach in Afghanistan despite losing its caliphate.

Former Obama Official Blames Central American Migration on ‘Climate Crisis'
(CNSNews.com) ‐ Former Obama official Patrick Gaspard in a panel discussion on ABC’s "This Week with George Stephanopolous" blamed Central American migration on the "climate crisis."

Gaspard, who is currently president of the Open Society Foundation and once served as Obama’s White House political affairs director, said President Donald Trump was "falsely hyping a deal that was struck some months ago that we know is probably insufficient to the challenge."

"Let’s be clear about what’s really happening here. I know Americans through the news media are focused on Mexico and this challenge, but this story is really not about Mexico. It’s about migrants who are coming from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala, from the Northern Triangle, and they are a very different class of migrants than we saw in years past," he said.

"You used to have lone Mexican men who would come, find work, send money back home. That’s not what you have now. You have whole families that are coming as a consequence of pressures of climate shifts in the Northern Triangle," Gaspard said.

He said the president should be working with countries in that region to fight climate change.

"We have a five-year drought there now and precipitation that’s moving to other parts of the region. Any president of the U.S. should be working with Mexico and with that region to mitigate the climate crisis and the crisis also in some of the human rights oppressions that exist in those countries. We should be partnering with Mexico now, not making idle threats and lifting up deals that will do nothing to mitigate the crisis," Gaspard said.

Economy
The Economics of Space: An Industry Ready to Launch
[Reason Foundation] Here are cooperative ways for government agencies and the private sector to promote widespread commercialization of space transportation and accelerate the pace of exploration and economic development of space.

America’s future success in space depends on restructuring our approach for financial sustainability. While NASA has contracted with the private sector for innovation and cost savings, it continues to use the same antiquated and constraining structure that was first developed for exploring space. This carries an opportunity cost that slows the private sector’s plans to harness space’s many viable materials and properties, compared to the pace it could attain with a more market-friendly approach. Such activities could help solve Earth’s most pressing problems and foster a space industry that sustains itself financially.

Many space-based activities have commercial potential. For example:

-Lurid Crime Tales-
The Snowden Effect, Six Years On
[CATO] Six years ago, the world was introduced to a previously unknown government contractor who revealed the National Security Agency (NSA) was conducting an unparalleled level of warrantless electronic surveillance. Edward Snowden’s explosive revelations about NSA’s telephone metadata collection program triggered an uproar at home and abroad, culminating in the 2015 passage of the USA Freedom Act‐legislation that supporters claimed would "end" the kind of mass surveillance Snowden had exposed to the world.

During the debate over Snowden’s revelations, federal officials (including President Barack Obama) asserted the surveillance program had saved lives‐going so far as to claim, without any evidence, that the program had foiled dozens of terrorist plots against the United States. And even after Obama’s own hand-picked review group found the telephone metadata program not worth it (as did the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board (PCLOB) in their report), Congress renewed the program in 2015 via the USA Freedom Act.

Supporters claimed the new legislation would effectively end the NSA bulk telephone metadata program. Others, including myself, felt the bill was somewhere between terrible and disastrous, because its reforms didn’t go far enough. Last year, critics who predicted that USA Freedom Act would not end NSA’s telephone bulk collection were, ironically, vindicated by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, which admitted that in fact three times as much American telephone data was being collected than before the law’s enactment.

Amazingly, earlier this year NSA recommended to President Donald Trump that the telephone metadata program be terminated, claiming the program was too cumbersome to continue to execute and not worth the effort‐a tacit admission that critics were right all along.

Europe
German media report increase in EU asylum applications
[DW] The number of applications for asylum in the EU is back up. About 206,500 applications were submitted during the first four months of 2019, compared with 179,000 in 2019, according to the Europe
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
an Asylum Support Office.

After several years in decline, the number of first-time asylum applications lodged in European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
countries is growing again, German media reported on Tuesday, citing figures from the European Asylum Support Office (EASO).

The EASO tabulated about 206,500 applications in EU countries during the first four months of the year, according to a report in Funke media group newspapers ‐ up 15% from the 179,000 lodged during the same period in 2018.

First-time applicants from Syrians were down 8% from 2018 to 20,392, according to the report. Venezuela came in second, with 14,257 citizens seeking asylum in the European Union, Funke reported.

Afghanistan was in third place, with the number of citizens lodging first applications for asylum in the EU up 36% to 14,042, according to Funke. The number of Colombians was up 156% to 8,097.

First-time applications from West Balkan countries such as Albania and Caucuses nations such as Georgia were up, according to the report. The proportion of applications from people from countries whose citizens don't require a visa to travel in the Schengen zone reportedly increased from roughly 20% to about 25%.

GERMANY'S AFGHANISTAN PROBLEM
As the number of asylum applications within the European Union grows, so will the number of deportations from EU countries ‐ especially Germany.

Dominik Bartsch, the representative for the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) in Germany, criticized the long-running practice of sending displaced people back to Afghanistan, calling the shipping of civilians to a war zone "unrealistic" and recommending that it be done only "as an exception."

Bartsch said the UNHCR did not completely reject the practice, but added that the deciding factor must be "to what type of land these people are being brought" and pointed out that Afghanistan is currently a country in which noncombatants are at acute risk of injury or death in frequent terror attacks or combat.

On Monday, Pro Asyl, an organization that supports and advocates for displaced people in Germany, called for a complete halt of deportations to Afghanistan and Sudan ahead of the start of Wednesday's state interior minister meetings. Pro Asyl has also urged the German government not to deport people to Syria or Iraq.

The states of Baden-Wurttemberg, Bavaria and Saxony are petitioning for the German government to permit deportations to Syria should conditions in the country improve despite the eight-year civil war and for people who have been convicted of serious crimes or are deemed terror threats by authorities.

Through April, Germany's Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) denied 145 appeals from people who had sought refuge in churches to avoid deportation, the EPD news agency reported, citing a request for information presented to the agency by the Left party. Two people were allowed to lodge asylum applications within Germany. That makes for a success rate of just 1.4% ‐ down from nearly 12% in 2018, when 77 of 647 appeals were granted.

The Left party has accused BAMF of having an obsession with deportations.

Cong. Matt Gaetz To John Dean: Let's Face It, You're Here As A Prop Because Democrats Can't Impeach Trump
[Hot Air] An enjoyable exchange between one lawyer who was disbarred and another who might be. (But almost certainly won’t be.)

Gaetz is right that John Dean
...Nixon Watergate whistle-blower. He's been blowing the same whistle ever since, and the act never seems to get old with a certain set...
is being used here as a prop, a point I made myself earlier. He’s also right about Dean’s "cottage industry" of attacking Republican politicians with a heavy emphasis on Nixon comparisons. He wrote three books during the Bush era, one called "Worse Than Watergate" about Dubya’s presidency, one entitled "Conservatives Without Conscience" about the failed leadership of the Republican coalition, and then the capper, "Broken Government: How Republican Rule Destroyed the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial Branches." Many cable-news talking heads have defined "niches" but Dean’s is unusually clear and narrow: He’s the ghost of Republican scandals past (as Gaetz almost refers to him here) who pops up from time to time to assure liberals that, whoever the GOP villain du jour happens to be, he’s worse than Nixon.

Gaetz thinks Dean does this for money. Maybe, although I think it’s mostly for status. Surely Dean doesn’t need a stipend from CNN after years as an investment banker and successful author tailoring his work to Democrats who like to be told that it’s the other party that’s to blame for all of America’s problems. It must be psychologically seductive for Dean to be seen as a sort of moral tutor by one half of the country after he was disgraced by Watergate. His "every Republican is Nixon" shtick is a way to reclaim the high ground while constantly reminding people of his claim to fame. He’s never really discarded his famous role as witness against a corrupt Republican president when you think about it; he renews it every time a new Republican is sworn in, and instead of giving his testimony to the Judiciary Committee, he gives it to Anderson Cooper.

Until today, when he was back at the site that made him famous.

Abortion-supporters throw urine, harass pro-lifers at Massachusetts March for Life
[Life Site] June 10, 2019 (Live Action News) ‐ Seven pro-abortion protestors were arrested on Sunday during the annual Massachusetts March for Life on Boston Common after abortion advocates clashed with pro-life activists.

According to the Boston Police Department, more than 600 pro-lifers attended the March ‐ a record number. The Boston Globe reports that they were playing music and listening to speakers as pro-abortion protestors interfered with them. C.J. Williams, the community engagement director for Massachusetts Citizens for Life, told the Boston Herald that two pro-abortion men pushed her and shouted expletives at a group of about 25 pro-lifers as they walked up the street. She also said that an abortion supporter threw urine and a slushie on one of the pro-life speakers.

"One of our speakers... who is Black and gay, was assaulted by the other side and had urine thrown on him," Williams said. "It got a little bit hectic there; it was not the dialogue I'd hoped for."

The theme for this year's March was "Love in Action," and though the pro-lifers struggled to be heard over the pro-abortion shouts of "pro-life, that's a lie, you don't care if women die," the pro-life speakers shared stories of love and hope that happen when women are able to choose life.

Pro-choice protestors in attendance included members of Boston Feminists for Liberation, who assumed the pro-lifers were holding the rally "to celebrate" the new "heartbeat bills" in states including Georgia, Alabama, and Missouri. In reality, the March is an annual event, and this particular year, pro-lifers were aiming to raise awareness of the concerns they have regarding extreme anti-life bills in Massachusetts. They had hoped to have an "open dialogue" with pro-choicers but that turned out to have been impossible this time.

I think this is the right thing. Use their own rules back on them. Accuse them of racism and homophobia. The Globe may very well ignore it, but eventually you get some traction.

Bill Kristol's Half-Baked Never-Trump Cake Fails To Rise
[Liberty Nation] Much to the chagrin of the globalist, free trade Republicans who still inhabit important positions within the party establishment, President Trump is an enormously popular chief executive among GOP voters. Which means those who would dearly love to return the party to the not-so-halcyon days of the Bush-McCain-Dole era face a delicate balancing act heading into the 2020 elections.

CONCEDING THE OBVIOUS
It has become crystal clear, if not clear to Bill Kristol, that a NeverTrump challenger for the 2020 nomination is a hopeless proposition. Maryland Governor Larry Hogan (R), whom the Trump-hating Kristol had eyeballed as a potential candidate, has read the writing on the wall. Hogan has declared that he will not run against the president. Even as he backed out, however, he detailed once again the stark division between party apparatchiks and actual grassroots Republicans.

"In a telephone interview, Hogan told the Washington Examiner that he received enthusiastic encouragement from Republican thinkers, donors, and elected officials impressed with his ability to connect with a broad cross-section of voters in deep blue Maryland," the Examiner’s David M. Drucker wrote on June 4. No doubt there is truth in this statement. But one big thing is missing in that formula: actual support from real voters. "There wasn’t a groundswell among the average Republican primary voter," Hogan admitted. "They seem to be, at this point, very happy with the president."

This has been the missing ingredient in the half-baked NeverTrump cake all along, of course. Party professional hangers-on who lack an authentic support base of their own have continued to dream of ejecting a president who strongly appeals to GOP voters. "I think there’s broad consensus that no one is moving toward a run," Rob Stutzman, an anti-Trump Republican consultant in California glumly related to the Examiner.

Teacher beats up student who owed him money for weed
[NYPOST] A Bronx charter-school teacher recruited a student to help him score $4,000 worth of marijuana ‐ and he beat the teen senseless when he found out the kid pocketed the cash, police sources said Friday.

Kevin Pope, 48, also stole the teen’s iPhone and wallet and threatened to sexually assault his mother if he didn’t get his money back, the sources said.

"I will kill you if I don’t get my money!" Pope allegedly told the student after pummeling him. "I want my money in a month!"

Pope, a science teacher at the John V. Lindsay Wildcat Academy in Hunts Point, was arrested at the school Friday morning and charged with assault and robbery in the attack a day earlier.

Pope had asked students around the school back in June if they knew a drug pusher ‐ and they put him in touch with the teen, who promised he could score a large stash of drugs from his contact in Manhattan, sources said.

Pope gave the kid $4,000 for the hefty purchase, the sources said.

The unidentified teen told cops he met the dealer near Central Park but was told that the quantity of drugs he was seeking would cost $7,000, sources said.

The student then blew off the transaction and spent the money, according to the sources.

Three months later, shortly after the start of the new school year, Pope found the teen about two blocks away from the Lafayette Avenue building and demanded that the money be returned, sources said.

When the student said it was gone, Pope allegedly socked him in the face multiple times and took his iPhone 6, gold chain and wallet containing the boy’s school ID and two MetroCards.

A source said that Pope "threatened to have him beat up again and have his mother sexually assaulted."

The student needed three surgical staples to close gashes in the back of his head, sources said.

Sources said the incident is on surveillance video.

The student attends Pope’s school, but it’s unclear if the teen was in that teacher’s class.

A Department of Education spokeswoman directed all questions to the charter school, which declined to comment.

Pope was awaiting arraignment at Bronx Criminal Court on Friday night.

Egypt Court of Cassation upholds prison sentences in 2013 Al-Fath Mosque deadly clashes, Kerdasa police station storming
[AlAhram] Egypt’s Court of Cassation upheld on Monday prison sentences for those convicted of committing various criminal offenses during the al-Fath Mosque festivities in Cairo in August of 2013.

The defendants were charged by the prosecution of murder, attempted murder, desecrating and vandalising the mosque, endangering the public, destruction of public property, obstructing traffic, and possession of firearms and ammunition on 16 and 17 August 2013 at al-Fath Mosque in central Cairo in the aftermath of the ouster of Islamist President Mohammed Morsi.

In September 2017, a Cairo criminal court sentenced 22 of the defendants in the case to life in prison.

The court also sentenced 21 others to life in prison in absentia.

A life sentence carries a term of 25 years in jail per Egyptian law.
That doesn't make a lot of sense. If you're twenty when you're sentenced, that means they let you out when you're forty five. I was still alive when I was forty five. I can prove it!
The court had also sentenced 17 people to 15 years imprisonment, 54 others to 10 years, 13 in absentia to 10 years, 88 in absentia to 10 years, 216 to five years, and exonerated 25 others.

Those convicted appealed these verdicts.

Today's Court of Cassation verdicts are final and cannot be appealed.

cop shoppe in Giza in July 2013, and has upheld life imprisonment terms against three other men in the same case.

The court commuted the death sentence to life in prison following an appeal filed by the defendant.

The court also rejected appeals by three defendants sentenced to life in prison and seven others sentenced to 15 years in the same case.

The prosecution had charged the defendands with premeditated murder, attempted murder, possession of fire arms and ammunition, and attacks on police officers.

Monday’s Court of Cassation verdict comes more than a year after the defendants were handed jail terms by a Giza criminal court in a retrial in May 2018.

CNN’s Acosta ‘Regrets’ Media Did Not Stand in Solidarity More Against Trump
[BREITBART] Sunday on CNN’s "Reliable Sources," CNN White House chief correspondent Jim Acosta
...CNN's showboating White House correspondent...
revealed one his "regrets" in life is the media not standing together in solidarity.

Acosta lamented he has "missed some opportunities" to challenge President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
labeling the media "the enemy of the people."

"You know, I wish at times that the press had been a bit more in solidarity with one another in standing up to this White House and saying, ’Listen, ’You know, the president can’t call us the enemy of the people. We’re not going to go along with that.’ Acosta told host Brian Stelter. "I think we’ve missed some opportunities here and there to challenge that."

Acosta then praised how other members of the media supported him and CNN when his White House press pass was revoked.

He stated, "I will say, one thing I’m most grateful for during this experience is how just about every news organization in Washington and here in New York stood behind us here at CNN when they took away my press pass. That was a very important first amendment case. And I talk about it in the book. Had the Trump administration won that case, Brian, it would have sent shockwaves through our industry. It would have put a real chilling effect on the First Amendment in this country.

#4  The 'Press' in the first amendment is about the technology of the free flow of information. There was no 'institution' known as the press in 1792. If there is any group dedicated to corrupting, manipulating, fabricating, or suppressing the flow of information, it is today's institution commonly referred to as the 'press'. That makes them the enemy to the intent of the first amendment.

Jihadist offensive to dislodge Syrian Army from southwest Idlib ends in heavy losses
[ALMASDARNEWS] The jihadist rebels launched a powerful attack on Sunday to expel the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) from the southwestern region of the Idlib Governorate.

, the jihadist rebels began their assault by storming the northern axis of Qasabiyah. This town is located at the southwestern slope of Idlib’s Jabal al-Zawiya region.

Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham and their jihadist allies repeatedly stormed the Syrian Army’s positions at Qasabiyah in a bid to break through the government’s main line of defense.

Despite a brief infiltration into Qasabiyah, the jihadist rebels were unable to score any significant advance at this front.

According to a military source in nearby Mhardeh, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies from the National Defense Forces (NDF) managed to kill several jihadist rebels during the battle at Qasabiyah on Sunday afternoon.

The source added that the Syrian Arab Army and National Defense Forces are shifting their focus to the Tal Malah front, where they are expected to launch another assault to retake this key hilltop from Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham and Jaish al-Izza.

inmates from the Pul-e-Charkhi jail and that 130 others are expected to be freed on Tuesday.

According to the sources, the released prisoners were imprisoned on charges of membership and cooperation with the Taliban and were sentenced to years of prison.

The announcement on the release of the prisoners was made by President Ghani on the closing day of the grand council on peace earlier in May.

Again on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, Ghani announced the release of 887 prisoners as part of his efforts to persuade the resurgent group to engage in intra-Afghan dialogue to end the conflict through diplomatic settlement.

According to National Security Advisor Hamdullah Mohib, all the 887 inmates are Taliban prisoners.

Critics have said the decision will have a possible negative impact on the country’s fragile situation and that the decision has been made without wider consultations.

The move comes at a time that diplomacy is taking center stage in the Afghan grinding of the peace processor which has hit constant deadlocks due to persistent denial by the Taliban holy warriors to engage in direct talks with the government in Kabul.

McCabe: Comey’s Draft Statement Exonerating Clinton Two Months before Her FBI Interview Was Not Normal Protocol
[BREITBART] “This is the only time I am aware of, sir.” “I have not seen that before, sir.” “I’ve never seen that.”

These are just some of the words utilized by former acting FBI director Andrew McCabe when asked during closed door testimony about an email penned by disgraced ex-FBI chief James Comey
The disgraced, except in his own mind, former head of the FBI...
circulating a draft statement exonerating Hillary Clinton in the private email server case a full two months before the FBI interviewed Clinton and other witnesses in the criminal probe.

Documents previously released by the FBI show that Comey on May 2, 2016 sent the email in question to McCabe, FBI general counsel James Baker and chief of staff and senior counselor James Rybicki. Clinton was interviewed by the FBI on June 2, with Comey later testifying that she was not sworn in and that the interview was not recorded.

Two months before Clinton’s FBI interview, Comey circulated the draft statement testing language to be used for not recommending charges against Clinton.

Former Rep. Bob Goodlatte, who served as chairman of the House Judiciary Committee at the time of McCabe’s December 21, 2017 testimony, read aloud Comey’s email. A transcript of the testimony was released three weeks ago by House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Doug Collins, R-Ga, although the portion in question did not receive media attention.

Mexican Authorities Begin Arresting Illegals Riding ‘The Beast’ Train to US
[THEGATEWAYPUNDIT] Mexican military deployed throughout the country as part of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s vow to do more to apprehend migrants colonists headed to the United States, have officially begun targeting foreigners who have hitched rides aboard a freight train known as "The Beast" to get to the U.S.-Mexico border, local media reported Sunday.

Mexican National Guard held up the "La Bestia" train in an unpopulated area near Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, a city north of the Mexico-Guatemala border, where migrants colonists have been crossing into the country.

The operation marked the first of its kind since López Obrador and President Trump reached a deal late Friday, in which the U.S. would hold off on tariffs against Mexican imports if the government did more to prevent people from traveling through the country.

Conway blasts Nancy Pelosi for losing control of her 'temper' and her House caucus
[FOXNEWS] White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway blasted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi
Congresswoman-for-Life from the San Francisco Bay Area, born into a family of professional politicians. On-again-off-again Speaker of the House. It's not her fault when they lose, but it's her accomplishment when they win. Noted for her heavily botoxed grimace and occasional senior... uhhh... moments...
Monday, claiming the top Democrat has "lost control of her temper" and her caucus.

Conway criticized Pelosi on "Fox & Friends" for making "awful, incendiary" remarks last week while President Trump was in the United Kingdom.

According to a report last week, Pelosi told some of her colleagues that she wants to see the president "in prison" after he's voted out of office, rather than removed from office via impeachment.

Conway said Pelosi showed "audacity" by then claiming in an answer to a news hound's question that she would never criticize the president "outside the country." Pelosi had been asked about Trump's comments from the United Kingdom in which he called her "nasty" and "vindictive."

Turkey’s PKK offensive: New tactics, same strategy
[Rudaw] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...Qatar's colony in Asia Minor....
’s latest military offensive against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the Kurdistan Region has been underway for two weeks now. Launched on May 27, Operation Claw is so far proving to be the most significant offensive Turkey has mounted against the PKK since at least last summer, but how strategically or tactically significant will it ultimately prove to be?

Turkey claims that it has "neutralized" ‐ read as captured, maimed, or killed ‐ 43 PKK fighters since Operation Claw commenced. The operation is taking place in the Hakurk region near the Kurdistan Region’s borders with both Turkey and Iran, indicating that Turkey wants to limit the PKK’s movements between Turkey and its Qandil Mountain stronghold.

John Brennan: My trouble with Trump? ‘His dishonesty, his character'
[Irish Times] As John Brennan
...director of the CIA under the Obama administration. One of the deeper dwelling denizens of the Deep State, possibly even the guy who lit the match that launched the Russiagate coup attempt...
takes his seat on the patio of the historic Willard Hotel, a few blocks from the White House, there is a ripple of recognition among those sitting nearby.
"Faith, man! 'Tis The Brennan!"
"'Tis not! That's The Clapper!"
"No, no! The Clapper is much shorter!"
"How can you tell, Sean? 'Tis sitting down he is!"

The former CIA director is a man more used to being in the background. As the head of America’s foreign intelligence agency he was privy to the nation’s most sensitive secrets.
"He knows who's the one who wears the panties in the Obama family!"
Today, he has become a very public and outspoken critic of President Donald Trump
...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US...
, his fame cemented by his regular appearance on cable news channels such as MSNBC.
"Aye, man! But I still say 'tis The Clapper! His fame is also cemented by his appearance on cable news channels such as MSNBC!"
"But he sits down, he does!"

As we talk, a member of the public approaches Brennan to shake his hand.
"Aye, 'twould be an honor to shake yer hand, Mister Clapper!"
He responds politely, his shy smile suggesting that he is still not entirely comfortable with his new public persona.
"Ow! 'Tis a firm grip y'have, sir!"
Brennan will visit Dublin next week for the Dalkey Book Festival.
"And could I be havin' me hand back before then, sir?"
It is one of his many visits to the country, since his first trip more than 40 years ago.
"Aye, he's done more to the Blarney Stone than just to kiss it, if y'know what I mean!"
Brennan is intensely proud of his Irish American heritage. His story is in many ways representative of the thousands who made the journey from Ireland to America to seek a better life.
"Faith, Missus Brennan! There's got to be something better than this!"
"Shut up and eat yer potato, Seamus!"

His father, the seventh of 10 children from Co Roscommon, trained as a blacksmith before leaving Ireland for the United States in 1948 when he was 28 years old. Many of his generation took a similar path.
"Good bye, Seamus! Good bye, Pat! G'bye, Mike! Good bye, Mikey! Good bye, Paddy! Good bye, Sean! G'bye, Michael!"
Within a couple of years in the US he met Brennan’s mother, whose grandparents had emigrated from Ireland, at an Irish dance.
"Faith! And how is it ye dance like that without movin' yer hands?"
They settled in New Jersey, and Brennan recalls being brought up in a typical Irish-American household.
"Faith, Katie! Bring more whisky! 'Tis freezin', we are!"
"Yer lookin' at the Celsius side of the thermometer, Mister Brennan. On the Fahrenheit side 'tis eighty six!"
"Well, bring more whisky, woman! 'Tis dyin' of the heat, we are!"

Irish history was "deeply embedded in us", he says. "For a while I knew as much about Irish history as I did about American history. I think we had a glorified impression of the old country, and we’d often asked my father, ’why did you come here?’
"Shut up and eat yer potato, Sean Brennan!"

#11  The problem as I see it is that John is a fighter, a pretty strong fighter, and he is fighting for the existence of the old guard. By this I mean the two parties that are both frauds, like the Mafia working with the Irish in historic NYC. Both parties are corrupt beyond belief, If one party goes legit, it will expose the other. The Clinton's, the Bush's, Obama, and all of them are corrupt and Trump disrupted the presidential succession line. Now all bets are off, all corruption, both power and greed, are disrupted. The loyal workhorses, Brennan, Comey, Mueller, et all.. are leading the charge to keep the corrupt in power. They have no limits in their corruption, they will have no limits in their attacks on American ideals. It is going to get very bitter and ugly as Trump gets to his second election. I expect the fraud and accusations will go wild. And I expect if Trump is carrying the day, they will impeach him, for nothing, but they will have him in impeachment hearings to distract him. The people will vote, he will win, and the vote will get contested to the SC. This states giving away to the popular vote will stop the election when Trump wins the popular vote and blue states are forced to give their states to Trump. Lots of drama and as long as it does not get kinetic, bring popcorn.

Public outrage over Kathua rape case along with other incidents of rape of children in the country drove the government to show urgency in its action. However, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act is not valid in the state of Jammu and Kashmir where the incident of rape of 8-year-old occurred.

at the request of the governments of La Belle France and the Netherlands.

"At the request of the French government, the self-administration of North and East Syria [NES] handed over on June 9, 2019, 12 orphaned French children from ISIS families to a delegation from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the town of Ain Issa," Abdulkarim Omar, co-chair of the NES Foreign Relations Committee, tweeted Monday.

Among the 12 French children are the son and daughter of Yassine Sakkam ‐ one of the French ISIS fighters recently condemned to death by an Iraqi court.

Their mother, who is being held by Kurdish authorities in Syria, has given her permission for the children to be repatriated to La Belle France, according to Le Gay Pareeien.

The other 10 children are orphans.

Later, Omar announced the Netherlands is also taking steps to repatriate two children.

"At the request of the Dutch Government, the self-administration of North and East Syria handed over on June 9, 2019, two orphaned Dutch children from ISIS families to a delegation from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the town of Ain Issa," he added.

The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed in a statement on Monday that two "very young" Dutch children were also on the plane to Vélizy-Villacoublay military air base, 13 kilometers from Gay Paree, who will be sent to the Netherlands.

The NES is the self-administrated region in northeast Syria known to Kurds as Rojava.

La Belle France previously has said it would not carry out a general repatriation of the estimated 500 children born to French parents.

However,
a woman is only as old as she admits...
close to 100 children of ISIS prisoners have been returned to La Belle France since 2014, with decisions taken on "a case-by-case basis", a government source told Le Gay Pareeien.

Upon landing, the children are to receive medical checks and be handed over to social care workers before efforts to find them host families begin.

Afghanistan
Daesh Wants 'To Attack The West From Afghanistan'
[ToloNews] The ISIS Death Eater group is looking to expand its reach in Afghanistan’s north and east and has increased its recruitment activities in the country to stage an attack on the US and the western countries, The News Agency that Dare Not be Named reported, quoting some Afghan and American officials.

A US intelligence official based in Afghanistan said as quoted by The News Agency that Dare Not be Named that a recent wave of attacks in the capital, Kabul, is "practice runs" for even bigger attacks in Europe
...also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
and the United States.

"The bad news is their acquisition of key terrain, height concealment, where they can have easy access to money, weapons, equipment . . .and from where they can plan, train, stage, facilitate and expedite attacks," said the US intelligence official. "I think expansion of territory in eastern Afghanistan is their number one military objective," with the goal of eventually encircling Jalalabad, he told News Agency that Dare Not be Named.

"This group is the most near-term threat to our homelands from Afghanistan," the official said on condition of anonymity to preserve his operational security. "The IS core mandate is: You will conduct external attacks" in the US and Europe. "That is their goal. It’s just a matter of time," he said. "It is very scary."

"ISIS has not been eliminated. ISIS has expanded. The group is trying to supply itself and move towards other districts," said Ajmal Omar, a member of Nangarhar

the man who has no enemies isn't anybody and has never done anything...
the battles between ISIS and Taliban have displaced thousands in the east.

"Right now in Kunar, the right side of the road is captured by the Taliban, the left side is controlled by ISIS and the government is in the middle," said Farmanullah Shirzad, a resident of Kunar, who is displaced now due to conflicts.

"When they began operating in Afghanistan, they were maybe 150 ISIS members, but today, there are thousands and thousands," he said.

"ISIS has brought nothing for Afghanistan except destruction. We in the system of Afghanistan will prevent the activities of this group," said Safiullah Amarkhel, Nangarhar police commander.

Based on the statistics of Afghan security agencies, hundreds of ISIS fighters have been killed as a result of special operations and air strikes over the past two years. But there are serious concerns that recruitment among Chechen, Uzbek, Bangladesh, Indian and Chinese nationals could further empower ISIS’s war machine.

"ISIS has announced its presence in Qosh Tapa of Jawzjan and some of its fighters have gone there from Faryab. Those who are alongside ISIS in these areas said to be with ISIS criminal mastermind Aminuddin who is present in Dasht-e-Archi of Kunduz. The threat is serious," Faryab governor Naqibullah Fayiq said.

At least 95 killed in central Mali village attack
[AlAhram] Attackers believed to belong to the Fulani
... a peculiarly brutal tribe of Moslem herdsmen infesting Mali, Niger, Nigeria, and probably other places that are light on law and order and heavy on tribal identity...
ethnic group raided a rival Dogon village in central Mali overnight, killing at least 95 people and burning houses to the ground, local and government officials said on Monday.

Violence between Dogon hunters and Fulani herders has killed hundreds since January, including an attack in March in which button men killed more than 150 Fulani, one of the worst acts of bloodshed in Mali's recent history.

Sunday's raid took place in the Sangha district, where Fulanis from the neighbouring Bankass district descended on a Dogon village after dark, Bankass mayor Moulaye Guindo told Rooters on Monday.

"Armed men, apparently Fulani, fired at the population and burnt the village," said Siriam Kanoute, an official for the nearby town of Bandiagara.

Sangha mayor Ali Dolo told Rooters 95 charred bodies had been found so far, but that the corpse count was likely to rise as the village was still ablaze.

"On a population of around 300 inhabitants, only 50 responded to the roll call," said Dolo.

A security ministry front man confirmed the attack, but said the assailants had not been identified. The government later vowed to find those responsible.

"The government of Mali presents its deepest condolences to mourning families and assures all measures will be taken to arrest and punish the authors of this carnage," the communications ministry said in a statement.
An Nahar adds:
It came less than three weeks after nearly 160 members of the Fulani ethnic group were slaughtered by a group identified as Dogon.

A brutal cycle of violence in central Mali, an ethnic mosaic, began after a predominantly Fulani jihadist group led by preacher Amadou Koufa emerged in 2015.

It started targeting the Bambara and Dogon ethnic groups, which in turn started to form "self-defence groups" of their own. The Fulani are primarily cattle breeders and traders, while the Bambara and Dogon are traditionally sedentary farmers.

On May 16, the UN peacekeeping mission in Mali (MINUSMA) announced it had recorded "at least 488 deaths" in attacks on Fulanis in the central regions of Mopti and Segou since January 2018.

In the bloodiest raid, about 160 Fulani villagers were slaughtered on March 23 at Ogossagou, near the border with Burkina Faso
...The country in west Africa that they put where Upper Volta used to be. Its capital is Oogadooga, or something like that. Its president is currently Blaise Compaoré, who took office in 1987 and will leave office feet first, one way or the other...
, by suspected Dogon hunters.

According to MINUSMA, armed Fulanis had "caused 63 deaths" among civilians in the Mopti region, also since January 2018.

"It's a shock, a tragedy," MINUSMA chief Mahamat Saleh Annadif said of the latest bloodletting, noting that it came at a time "when we are discussing the renewal of the (MINUSMA) mandate."

There are currently about 14,700 troops and police deployed in Mali, which ranks as the most dangerous UN mission, with 125 peacekeepers killed in attacks since deployment in 2013.

Donor countries to MINUSMA are to to meet at the U.N. on Wednesday. A decision on renewing the force's mandate is expected by June 27.

MINUSMA was established after radical Islamist and Tuareg militias seized the north of the country in 2012.

The gunnies were pushed back by French troops in 2013. A peace agreement signed in 2015 by the Bamako government and gangs aimed at restoring stability.

But the accord failed to stop jihadist violence, which then shifted to central Mali, inflaming ancient inter-ethnic hostility.

Koufa in March 2017 joined the newly-formed Group to Support Islam and Muslims (GSIM), the leading jihadist alliance in the Sahel region, with links to al-Qaida. Its leader is Iyad Ag Ghaly.

Citing opposition sources, al-Watan said the negotiations stalled between Turkey and Russia after the latter asked Ankara to hand over the Jabal Shashabo region in northwestern Hama.

In addition to handing over Jabal Shashabo, Turkey would have to withdraw from its observation post in Sher Magher, which was allegedly a major issue for Ankara during the negotiations.

The publication said the goal of the negotiations was to secure the Hmeimim Airport in southwestern Latakia, along with the Christian towns of al-Sqaylabiyeh and Mhardeh in northwestern Hama.

As the eight-year civil war winds down, they are seeking to retain a degree of autonomy from the Damascus regime in a large cereal and oil-rich region their control in the northeast of the country.

"Fires today engulfed hundreds of hectares of wheat in Tirbespi and the fires are still raging," the head of the Kurdish agriculture authority Salman Bardo said, referring to the town named al-Qahtaniya in Arabic.

"It’s a huge danger for the region because the fire is close to oil wells and stations," he warned.

An AFP correspondent saw black smoke billow over golden fields scorched black, as men tried to put out flames with shovels just metres away from oil installations.

One man in a bulldozer was desperately trying to plough the earth to stop the fire from spreading.

"We ask the international coalition to intervene to extinguish the fires using special fire planes" we don’t have, Bardo said.

Abderrizq al-Mahmud, a 29-year-old wheat grower, said his family’s land had been destroyed.

"Forty-five hectares have gone up in flames, and I only have eight hectares left" after the fire roared in on Sunday, he said.

After years of drought and then civil war, Syria is expecting a bumper crop of wheat this year ‐ a large part of it in the northeast.

Fires have erupted in various parts of Syria in recent weeks, with all sides blaming each other for starting them.

In the Kurdish-run breadbasket province of Hasaka, of which al-Qahtaniya is part, ISIS has claimed several arson attacks on wheat fields.

But farmers have also blamed Dire Revenge attacks, low-quality fuel causing sparks, and even carelessness.

Both the Damascus government and the Kurdish authorities are competing to buy up the wheat produced this year in northeast Syria.

Analysts say wheat will be key to ensuring affordable bread and keeping the peace in various parts of Syria in the coming period.

The civil war has killed more than 370,000 people, made millions homeless, and devastated the country's economy since it started in 2011 with the brutal repression of anti-government protests.

province.

The 201st Silab Corps in a statement said the U.S. drones targeted Taliban’s Red Unit snuffies in Sherzad district. The statement further added that the airstrike killed nine Red Unit snuffies of Taliban.

The 201st Silab Corps also added that two commanders of the group were also among those killed.

The snuffies were originally hailing from Paktiya province and had recently visited Nangarhar to conduct to terrorist activities.

This comes as the security situation in some districts of Nangarhar has tanked during the recent years. Both Taliban and ISIS snuffies are active in some districts of the province and often conduct terrorist related activities.

In the meantime, the Afghan forces are busy conducting counter-terrorism operations against the anti-government gangs in this province.

The U.S. forces also conduct regular airstrikes in restive parts of the country to suppress Taliban and other anti-government hard boys.

[KhaamaPress] The Afghan security forces busted one of the major sanctuaries of the Red Unit of Taliban in Nangarhar province. The provincial authorities said the Taliban militants had established the sanctuary inside a mosque.

The Nangarhar governor’s office in a statement said the Red Unit of Taliban had established its sanctuary inside a mosque in Sherzad district. The statement further added that the Afghan armed forces carefully conducted the operation to bust the sanctuary of the group considering the sacred place of mosque.

The statement also added that three Red Unit commanders of Taliban originally hailing from Pakistan were also among those killed.

The Afghan armed forces killed at least 30 Red Unit militants of Taliban during the operation.

The security forces also wounded 14 Red Unit militants of Taliban during the same operation.

Pictures released by provincial governor’s office reveal that the security forces confiscated a Saudi armed forces badge and a Pakistani certificate besides seizing weapons and munitions.

The anti-government armed militants including Taliban have not commented regarding the operation so far.

Britain
How MI5 and police spies foiled London bomb factory plot
More on this story from yesterday.
[Telegraph] TERRORISTS linked to Iran were caught stockpiling tonnes of explosive materials on the outskirts of London in a secret British bomb factory, The Daily Telegraph can reveal.

Radicals linked to Hizbollah, the Lebanese militant group, stashed thousands of disposable ice packs containing ammonium nitrate ‐ a common ingredient in homemade bombs.

The plot was uncovered by MI5 and the Metropolitan Police in the autumn of 2015, just months after the UK signed up to the Iran nuclear deal.

Three tonnes of ammonium nitrate were discovered ‐ more than were used in the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995 that killed 168 people and damaged hundreds of buildings. Police raided four properties in north-west London ‐ three businesses and a home ‐ and a man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of plotting terrorism.

The man was eventually released without charge. Well-placed sources said the plot had been disrupted by a covert intelligence operation rather than in seeking a prosecution.

The discovery was so serious that David Cameron and Theresa May, then the prime minister and home secretary, were personally briefed on what had been found.

Yet for years it was kept hidden from the public ‐ including MPs who were debating whether to fully ban Hizbollah ‐ until today.

It raises questions about whether senior UK government figures chose not to reveal the plot in part because they were invested in keeping the Iran nuclear deal afloat.

The disclosure follows a three-month investigation by this newspaper in which more than 30 current and former officials in Britain, America and Cyprus were approached and court documents were obtained.

A well-placed source described the plot as "proper organised terrorism", while another said enough explosive materials were stored to do "a lot of damage". Ben Wallace, the security minister, said: "The Security Service and police work tirelessly to keep the public safe from a host of national security threats. Necessarily, their efforts and success will often go unseen."

Mossad tipped off UK on Hezbollah bomb plot in London in 2015 – report

[IsraelTimes] Israel’s Mossad spy agency was responsible for providing British authorities with information that helped foil Hezbollah’s efforts to stockpile explosives in London in 2015, a senior Israeli official told the Kan public broadcaster Monday.

The report said Hezbollah later attempted to move its operations to other countries, which were also notified by Mossad, and that the two organizations were for some time engaged in a game of cat and mouse, as the Iran-backed group sought to realize its plans.

According to a report Sunday by The Daily Telegraph, the Hezbollah plot was part of a wider plan to lay the groundwork for future attacks. It noted foiled Hezbollah operations in Thailand, Cyprus, and New York. All those plots were believed to have targeted Israeli interests around the world.

Seems prudent to ban the Iran-supported Hezbullies as a terrorist group. No brainer; why not sooner?

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Report: Iran to hand U.S. resident accused of spying over to Hezbollah
[Ynet] Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan, the abbreviation IRGC is a cognate form of Stürmabteilung, the term Supreme Guide is a cognate form of Shah, and they hate Jews Zionists. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
will hand over Nizar Zakka, a Lebanese citizen and holder of U.S. residency who was detained in 2015 for "collaborating against the state" to Leb's Hezbollah, the semi-official Fars news agency said on Monday, citing an unnamed source.
How very odd. Only a week ago it was reported that, “Zakka was pardoned at the request of Beirut as a gesture for this week’s Eid holidays marking the end of the Moslem holy month of Ramadan.”
"The move would take place in the next few hours.. This is done solely because of the respect for and dignity of Hassan Nasrallah," the source told Fars.

Zakka, an information technology expert who has permanent residency in the United States, was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2016 and fined $4.2 million.

Kindergarten Activism : More Fodder For Climate and Crazies
Ya, sure! Who knows more about climate science than elementary school kinder?
"I want you to panic. I want you to feel the fear I feel every day," says Greta Thunberg
"After years of depression, eating disorders, and anxiety attacks, she finally receives a medical diagnosis: Asperger’s syndrome, high-functioning autism, and OCD. She also suffers from selective mutism‐which explains why she sometimes can’t speak to anyone outside her closest family. When she wants to tell a climate researcher that she plans a school strike on behalf of the environment, she speaks through her father."

The book Scenes from the Heart ("Scener från Hjärtat," 2018) recounts these medical difficulties and the events that led to Greta Thunberg’s now-famous "school strike for climate," in which hundreds of thousands of children have refused to attend school to protest about government inaction over climate change. We are offered a story of "a family in crisis and a planet in crisis"‐two phenomena that are presented as inextricably linked. The book posits that oppression of women, minorities, and people with disabilities stem from the same overarching root problem as climate change: an unsustainable way of life. The family’s private crisis and the global climate crisis, the authors argue, are simply symptoms of the same systemic disorder."

https://quillette.com/2019/04/23/self-harm-versus-the-greater-good-greta-thunberg-and-child-activism

Do read this article by Paulina Neuding, to avoid being surprised when the next 'school strike' near you is for gay rights of 6th graders.

It highlights how professional activists and her family have capitalized the OCD of a mentally challenged little girl, it also opens a window into just who and what are these individual activists seemingly challenging status quo just because they can. While she counts down the days to her nobel prize, her parents negotiate $ million book contracts for the girl who was used to bring civil disobedience activism to junior high. Also see : https://www.spiked-online.com/2019/02/18/stop-scaring-kids-stiff-about-climate-change/

Miss Thunberg has also found support from the likes of AOC since her brand of activism supplements the Green New Deal, institutionalizes 'hooky' and teaches student unionism to children. More fodder for the maniacal left, more futures to destroy, more placards and fists in the air and more half-educated voters with activist mobocracy as the new norm.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
What Countries are Doing to Repatriate IS Families
[AnNahar] Since the fall of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
's "caliphate" in March, the international community has been torn over what to do with the families of foreign jihadists captured or killed in Syria and Iraq.

Some 12,000 foreigners from as many as 40 countries -- 4,000 women and 8,000 children - are currently stranded, mainly in al-Hol camp in northeastern Syria.

The Kurdish authorities are pressing for them to be returned to their countries of origin.

Here are several examples of how countries around the world are dealing with the issue:

RUSSIA, KOSOVO, FIRST
Nearly 4,500 Russian citizens went abroad to fight alongside the IS and it was the first to organise returns over a year ago.

By February around 200 women and kiddies had returned, originating mainly from Russia's Islamic republics in the Caucasus. Moscow estimates that nearly 1,400 children are still stranded.

Kosovo, which is 90 percent Moslem, announced in April it is repatriating 110 nationals from Syria, almost all of them wives and children of jihadists.

LA BELLE FRANCE AND BELGIUM: 'CASE BY CASE'
After months of hesitation amid hostile public opinion, 12 orphaned children of French jihadists were flown home from Syria on Monday.

La Belle France repatriated five orphans from Syria in mid-March, as well as a three-year-old girl whose mother was sentenced to life imprisonment in Iraq.

Gay Paree has said it is studying the files of all its citizens held in northeastern Syria on a case-by-case basis.

Like La Belle France, Belgium has been one of the biggest sources of imported muscle for IS.

The authorities recorded more than 400 travelling from 2012 while 160 children and adolescents have been born with at least one Belgian parent involved.

Belgium says it will help the repatriation of children younger than 10, as long as the link with a Belgian parent is proven. "For the others it is case by case," the government says.

GERMANY: CHILDREN REPATRIATED
A dozen children of jihadist fighters have been repatriated from Iraq to Germany since March.

The German authorities, while cautious, say that the children are "victims" and that they should be repatriated if they have family to take them in.

Children who have been radicalised will be placed in a special institution but will not be locked up.

DENMARK: STRIPPED OF NATIONALITY
The Danish government in late March drew up draft legislation under which children born abroad to jihadists will not have Danish nationality.

UNITED STATES
The United States has urged Western countries to take their nationals back and has started repatriating some of its own.

Two American women and six children from families of suspected IS members were repatriated in early June.

In July 2018 Washington brought home three IS fighters for prosecution and also repatriated one woman with her four children.

TUNISIA: NO REPATRIATION
Some 5,000 Tunisians have joined the IS in Syria and Libya, according to the UN in 2015 -- one of the biggest contingents.

No children have been brought home from Syria or Iraq, according to Human Rights Watch in February.

Tunisia's government worries that repatriating children will only accelerate the return of their jihadist parents, according to a local rights group, the Rescue Association of Tunisians Trapped Abroad.

TURKEY
In late May, Iraq repatriated to neighbouring The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
188 children of Turks accused of belonging to IS, a capital offence in Iraq.

TAJIKISTAN, UZBEKISTAN
Tajikistan, from where more than 1,000 travelled to fight for IS, said in May that 84 children had been brought back from Iraq, where their parents had been either enjugged
Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'!
or killed in battle.

On May 30, Uzbekistan said it had repatriated 156 nationals, mostly women and kiddies.

Houthi guerilla warfare tactics foil Saudi Coalition offensive along Yemeni border
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Saudi-led Arab Coalition launched an offensive on Sunday to capture the Sudais border region inside the Najran

...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...

Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements...
(var. Ansarallah) forces at the Sudais border region.

Despite the air supremacy and technologically advanced weapons, the Saudi-led Coalition was unable to crack the Houthi lines in Sudais.

According to the official media wing of the Houthi forces, their troops were able to inflict heavy losses in the ranks of the Saudi-led Coalition while also driving them away from the initial battle area.

The Saudi-led Coalition has been trying to expel the Houthi forces from the Sudais region for much of the war, but they have been unable to find an answer to the Yemeni group’s guerilla warfare tactics.

These tactics, which can range from hit-and-run attacks to roadside kaboomings, have been difficult to counter and often result in Saudi-led Coalition airstrikes that do little to hurt the Houthi resolve.

China-Japan-Koreas
Wall Street Journal: N. Korean leader's slain half-brother was a CIA informant
[Jpost] Kim Jong Nam, the half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Pudge Jong-un
...the overweight, pouty-looking hereditary potentate of North Korea. Pudge appears to believe in his own divinity, but has yet to produce any loaves and fishes, so his subjects remain malnourished...
who was killed in Malaysia in 2017, had been an informant for the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday.

The Journal cited an unnamed "person knowledgeable about the matter" for the report, and said many details of Kim Jong Nam's relationship with the CIA remained unclear.

Rooters could not independently confirm the story. The CIA declined to comment.

The Journal quoted the person as saying "There was a nexus" between the CIA and Kim Jong Nam.

"Several former U.S. officials said the half brother, who had lived outside of North Korea for many years and had no known power base in Pyongyang, was unlikely to be able to provide details of the secretive country's inner workings," the Journal said.

The former officials also said Kim Jong Nam had been almost certainly in contact with security services of other countries, particularly China's, the Journal said.

Kim Jong Nam's role as a CIA informant is mentioned in a new book about Kim Jong-un, "The Great Successor," by Washington Post news hound Anna Fifield that is due to be published on Tuesday. Fifield says Kim Jong Nam usually met his handlers in Singapore and Malaysia, citing a source with knowledge of the intelligence.

The book says that security camera footage from Kim Jong Nam's last trip to Malaysia showed him in a hotel elevator with an Asian-looking man who was reported to be a U.S. intelligence agent. It said Ki's backpack contained $120,000 in cash, which could have been payment for intelligence-related activities, or earnings from his casino businesses.

South Korean and U.S. officials have said the North Korean authorities had ordered the liquidation of Kim Jong Nam, who had been critical of his family's dynastic rule. Pyongyang has denied the allegation.

Two women were charged with poisoning Kim Jong Nam by smearing his face with liquid VX, a banned chemical weapon, at Kuala Lumpur airport in February 2017. Malaysia released Doan Thi Huong, who is Vietnamese, in May, and Indonesian Siti Aisyah in March.

According to the Journal, the person said Kim Jong Nam had traveled to Malaysia in February 2017 to meet his CIA contact, although that may not have been the sole purpose of the trip.

U.S. President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
and Kim Jong-un have met twice, in Hanoi in February and Singapore last June, seeming to build personal goodwill but failing to agree on a deal to lift U.S. sanctions in exchange for North Korea abandoning its nuclear and missile programs.

...Qatar's colony in Asia Minor....
are growing skeptical about Islam, according to the BBC.

Since 2003, when current Ottoman Turkish president Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey...
was elected prime minister for the first time, the number of religious schools in the country has grown ten times. However,
if you can't say something nice about a person some juicy gossip will go well...
according to the report, it has become more common for young Turks to question their faith and beliefs, even though no data about the phenomenon is available.

"Until recently, I would not even shake hands with men," Merve, a religion elementary school teacher told the BBC. "But now I do not know whether there is a God or not, and I really do not care."

Merve explained to the news hound that she used to be a radical believer until she suddenly started to doubt God's existence.

"I thought I would either go crazy or kill myself," she said. "The next day, I realized I had lost my faith."

According to the British public service broadcaster, political and religious leaders in Turkey have recently been debating whether the pious young are moving away from Islam.

"Until recently, I was a sympathizer of radical groups such as the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
or Al Qaeda. Today, I am an atheist," Bekir, a theology student, told the BBC.

"I initially wanted to find some logic in Islam, but I could not. Then I started questioning God too. I used to support the Islamist government here. But oppression breeds revolution. They wanted to oppress us and we started to react," he added.

Anecdotally, many of those who are doubting their faith become atheists, but some are finding new meaning in different philosophical beliefs, such as deism, which maintains the existence of a non-interventionist creator who permits the world to run following natural laws.

"One day, as I was going down the road to the market, I took my headscarf off and never put it back again," Leyla, a college student, said speaking to the BBC.

"My father does not know I am a deist. If he knew, I fear he might prevent my little sister from having a graduate degree. 'Your sister went to university, and this is what happened to her,' he might say. I didn't ask God to create me, so God cannot ask anything from me in return. I have a right to live as free as a bird," she further pointed out.

However,
if you can't say something nice about a person some juicy gossip will go well...
Ottoman Turkish authorities, including Education Minister Ismet Yilmaz, are formally denying any crisis of faith in the younger generation of conservative Turks, the BBC reported.

"No member of our nation would ever adhere to a such a deviant and void concept," Turkey's top religious holy man, the head of Religious Affairs Directorate Ali Erbas said, referring to atheism and deism.

#1  I would think the massive success of nearly every other religion compared to levels of failure in Islamic nations (more Islamic fervor the worse things are) would be a give away. Add to that the endless attacks on the west do not seem to have uplifted Islamic states so perhaps that's not actually what Allah wants.

Ex-top IAEA official warns of clandestine Iranian nuke sites

Heinonen, one of the world’s leading nuclear experts, noted that it is known that some time ago Iran was considering 10 underground locations for new nuclear facilities, and that it had performed a more in-depth review of five of the locations.

About 100 Malians killed in attack on Dogon village
[Dhaka Tribune] Attackers believed to belong to the Fulani herdsman
... a peculiarly brutal tribe of Moslem herdsmen infesting Mali, Niger, Nigeria, and probably other places that are light on law and order and heavy on tribal identity...
ethnic group raided a rival Dogon village in central Mali overnight, killing at least 95 people and burning houses to the ground, local and government officials said on Monday.

A Security Ministry front man confirmed the attack but said the assailants had not been identified.

Violence between Fulani and rival communities has compounded an already dire security situation in Mali's semi-arid and desert regions, which are used as a base by jihadist groups with ties to al Qaeda and Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. Those groups have exploited ethnic rivalries in Mali and its neighbours Burkina Faso
...The country in west Africa that they put where Upper Volta used to be. Its capital is Oogadooga, or something like that. Its president is currently Blaise Compaoré, who took office in 1987 and will leave office feet first, one way or the other...
and Niger in recent years to boost recruitment and extend their influence over vast swathes of territory.

The Malian government is seen as having lost its grip over parts of the country having outsourced the fight against jihadists to vigilante groups with scores to settle.

The Dogon suspect the Fulani of harbouring Islamist Death Eaters, charges the Fulani deny.

French forces intervened in Mali, a former French colony, in 2013 to push back a jihadist advance from the north but the murderous Moslems have since regrouped.

Pentagon Gets 8.8% Discount In $34 Billion F-35 Jet Deal
[Jpost] The U.S. Department of Defense has a "handshake" agreement with Lockheed Martin Co to cut 8.8 percent from the price of its latest order of F-35A fighter jet, shaving a year from the time frame in which each aircraft will cost less than $80 million, a Pentagon official said on Monday.

The Pentagon said over three years the agreement will be worth $34 billion for 478 F-35 fighter jets. It is preliminary and a final deal is expected to be sealed in August for the 12th batch of jets, one of the most expensive aircraft ever produced.

The preliminary agreement details the first year, and lays out agreed upon options for two additional years. The options are there because purchases cannot officially be made until the U.S. Congress approves an annual budget for those years.

The F-35 program has long aimed at growing the fleet to more than 3,000 jets and bringing the unit price of the F-35A below $80 million through efficiencies gained by ordering larger quantifies.

"I am proud to state that this agreement has achieved an estimated 8.8% savings from Lot 11 to Lot 12 F-35A's, and an estimated average of 15%" reduction across all variants from Lot 11 to Lot 14, Lord said in the statement. That savings exceeded expectations in a RAND Corp study.

While being a major part of Lockheed's revenue, the F-35 has recently been holding competitions to find less expensive subcontractors to help control costs.

The new pricing could encourage more foreign customers to join the F-35 program.
"Not so fast, there, Turkey"
Lockheed executives have said that any country with an F-16 jet, the predecessor to the F-35, is a potential customer. This could put the market size at about 4000 jets, Lockheed CEO Marillyn Hewson recently told an investor conference.

Vice Admiral Mathias Winter, the head of the Pentagon's F-35 office, has testified to Congress, that "future potential foreign military sales customers include Singapore, Greece, Romania, Spain and Poland."

Foreign military sales like those of the F-35 are considered government-to-government deals where the Pentagon acts as an intermediary between the defense contractor and a foreign government.

Other U.S. allies have been eyeing a purchase of the stealthy jet including Finland, Switzerland
...home of the Helvetians, famous for cheese, watches, yodeling, and William Tell...
and the United Arab Emirates.

#6  If the B-2's DMS is evolved from the the F-35's AN/ASQ-239 electronic warfare suite then that is an endorsement of the of F-35. One would expect our premier strategic bomber to have the best EW available. Other than being a much more advanced EW suite than what the B-2 currently has, it will also allow the B-2 covertly transmit, something that it can't do w/ Link16 w/o being detected.

[Jpost] Syrian opposition officers have documented the site of several Iranian missile caches in the country, including in areas Israel has demanded that Iran

According to a report in the London-based Asharq al-Awsat, the National Liberation Front
...the Turkic paramilitaries intended to replace with their native jihadi ferocity all the highly trained Turkish soldiers Sultan Erdogan I the much beloved has jailed in the last few years for not worshipping the ground he walks upon. The Uighurs and so forth who did not join Al Nusra or ISIS seem to have ended up here...
, which is made up of 150 dissident officers, documented the presence of Iranian Fateh-110 and Zulfiqar short-range ballistic missiles and Russian-made Scud missiles.

The group also found that Toophan-1 anti-tank missiles are being stored in the strategic T-4 airport in Syria’s Homs province with other rocket caches in Jubb el-Jarah east of Homs, in Aleppo’s al-Safira, and south of Damascus.

In the early 1990s, Iran began developing the Fateh-110, a mobile short-range ballistic missile reportedly capable of carrying nuclear or biological warheads, and has since developed five variants with various ranges and payloads.

The Fateh-110/I can carry a 650 kg. payload to a maximum range of 200 km., the Fateh-110/II has a range of 250 km. and a payload of 450 kg., and the Fateh-110/III has a range of 300 km. and a payload of 650 kg., as does the Fateh-110/IV, allegedly along with a guidance system and precision targeting. Last year, Tehran announced another version of the Fateh, called the al-Mobeen or "The Divine Conquest," that has a range of 300-500 km.

The Zulfiqar, a variant of the Fateh-110, has a reported range of 750 km. and possesses a cluster-munition warhead. According to Iranian media, the missile has an accuracy within 10 meters.

According to the report, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps has also moved its leadership from Damascus to the mountains north of the capital because of repeated strikes by Israel.

Israel has warned repeatedly that it would not allow an Iranian presence in Syria, and has admitted to hundreds of air strikes to prevent the transfer of weapons ‐ ranging from ammunition to surface-to-air missile kits ‐ to Hezbollah in Leb and the entrenchment of its forces on the Golan.

It is estimated that Hezbollah has some 30,000 rockets with a range of 10 kilometers, another 40,000 with a range of 40 kilometers, some 200 rockets with a range of 300 kilometers, and about 10 rockets with a range of up to 500 kilometers.

Israel is concerned that Iran is not only trying to consolidate its grip in Syria, where it could establish a forward base to attack Israel, but that it is trying to build advanced weapons factories in Syria and Leb in order to manufacture GPS-guided missiles that could hit targets with greater accuracy.

Iran has been moving its assets from areas repeatedly struck by Israel to locations closer to the border with Iraq, specifically the T-4 air base strategically located between Homs and Palmyra.

The air base has been attacked repeatedly by alleged Israeli air strikes, most recently last week when an advanced weapons system was destroyed just days after two rockets were launched toward Israel’s Mount Hermon ski resort.

Swedish police shoot man at Malmo central station after bomb threat
[AlAhram] Swedish police on Monday shot and injured a man at the central station in Malmo, in southern Sweden, after witnesses said he made threats and claimed to be carrying explosives and firearms, law enforcement officials said.

The station in downtown Malmo, a major hub for regional rail traffic, was evacuated in the wake of incident. There were no other injuries reported apart from the man fired upon, who was shot in the legs by a police officer.

"The background and reason for this was that the man exhibited threatening behaviour. He carried two bags which he claimed contained firearms as well as explosives," police official Per-Olof Soyseth told a news conference.

The man, whose identity had yet to be ascertained, was being treated in hospital while the bags he had been carrying were subjected to controlled kabooms by a police bomb squad in the central station, police said.

Soyseth said that while it remained unclear whether the bags had contained any dangerous items, officers at the scene had needed to respond to developments under the assumption that it could be an act of terror.

Malmo police said it was increasing its presence at public places across the sea-side town of just over 300,000 people. Railway traffic to and from the station was suspended due to the ongoing investigation, the regional and national train operators said.

Top US court upholds indefinite detention of Yemeni at Guantanamo
[IsraelTimes] The US Supreme Court has upheld the detention of a Yemeni prisoner held without charge or trial for 17 years at an American military prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

The top court has refused to take up a petition on behalf of Moath al-Alwi, who was arrested on the Afghan-Pakistain border in December 2001 and transferred to Guantanamo the following January.

The Yemeni national, who was born in 1977, is suspected of having been a body guard of al-Qaeda leader the late Osama bin Laden
... who doesn't live anywhere anymore...
, which he denies. He is considered to be an "enemy combatant," a classification that allows him to be held for the duration of the conflict.

Alwi’s lawyers argued that unlike past conflicts, the war in Afghanistan and against al-Qaeda is of indefinite duration, creating "the risk of lifelong detention for him."

Their arguments did not persuade the court, which gave no reason for rejecting the case.

The prison at Guantanamo was opened in 2001 on a US naval base on the southeastern tip of Cuba to hold the al-Qaeda and Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
fighters captured in Afghanistan following the September 11, 2001 attacks on the US.

Of the 780 prisoners held there, only about 40 remain. No new prisoners have been transferred there since 2008, although US President Donald Trump

Ardern also announced New Zealand will reduce the number of defense force personnel it has posted in Afghanistan from 13 to 11.

The South Pacific nation has a small contingent of 95 so-called noncombat personnel deployed at the Taji Military Complex northwest of Baghdad, where they are tasked with training Iraqi security forces.

The training mission is a joint operation with Australia, which has about 300 troops stationed at Taji. Australia has not made any announcement about its long-term plans at the base.

Abdur Rahim, a 30-year-old man, was set on fire by several assailants on the night of May 19 after Tarabi prayers in Kishoreganj’s Katiadi.

According to Rahim’s older brother Abdur Rahman, Rahim was a member of Maulana Muhammad Saad Al Kandhalvi’s Tablighi Jamaat faction, which has been involved in an internecine strife with Maulana Muhammad Jubair Hassan’s faction.

Rahman alleged that the attackers were followers of Saad Kandhalvi.

He said: “Everyone used to adhere to Maulana Saad’s instructions. But ever since the feud began with Maulana Jubair, there have been a lot of difficult situations, the worst being this.”

Rahim’s uncle Mamunur Rashid filed a case with the Katiadi police. Two suspects have been arrested so far.
