US Navy to Name Ship After Gay Rights Activist Harvey Milk
[USNI News] The Navy is set to name a ship after the gay rights icon and San Francisco politician Harvey Milk, according to a Congressional notification obtained by USNI News.

The July 14, 2016 notification, signed by Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus, indicated he intended to name a planned Military Sealift Command fleet oiler USNS Harvey Milk (T-AO-206). The ship would be the second of the John Lewis-class oilers being built by General Dynamics NASSCO in San Diego, Calif.

The Secretary of the Navy’s office is deferring additional information until the naming announcement, a Navy official told USNI News on Thursday.

Mabus has said the John Lewis-class ‐ named after civil rights activist and congressman Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) -would be named after civil rights leaders.

Other names in the class include former Supreme Court Chief Justice Earl Warren whose court ruled to desegregate U.S. schools, former Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, women's right activist Lucy Stone and abolitionist and women's rights activist Sojourner Truth.

#8  ...Actually, T-AO-206 will not be a commissioned vessel of the US Navy. She will be a US Naval Ship - there's a difference, though not one most civilians will appreciate. A USNS is a ship owned by the Department of the Navy but run by a mostly civilian crew - I'll feel sorry for the handful of regular Navy or reservists who will be aboard her, but at the end of the day it's an empty gesture.

SNL stars offer 'Trump Ice' water to Democrats as temperatures hit 100F at convention ...but most won't drink it
Why am I not surprised.
* SNL stars Michael Che and Colin Jost offered Trump water to Democrats

* Temperatures soared to almost 100F at the convention in Philadelphia

* But most turned it down, saying they would rather go thirsty than drink it
Some even spat it out when they figured out what it was!

Wisconsin $1B Highway Shortfall - Walker Won't Raise Taxes
The co-chairman of the state's powerful budget-writing committee called on Gov. Scott Walker this week to consider finding ways to raise revenue for the state's transportation budget, which will suffer from a $939 million shortfall in the next biennium, according to the latest estimates.

But Walker on Wednesday stood firm in his long-held opposition to raising taxes or imposing fees to help pay for road projects - putting him at odds with leaders in his own party who have implored the governor to consider finding new revenue.
Lots of finger-pointing in the La Crosse Tribune link
"Raising taxes and fees is not the answer," Walker said in a statement. "Under our administration, we will keep it a priority to live within the means of the hardworking people of Wisconsin. That is a commitment I will honor."

#3  No mention by the LC Tribune (think - NYT without the entertainment section), of course, that Gov. Walker's predecessor (yup, a 'D') raided the state's transportation Road Funds big time for 'other programs' including a $50M Jobs Program that 'successfully' trained a total of 202 people and $14M in down payments on a 'High-Speed Rail' system that was never built (Walker quashed that when first in office).

FBI Insider Leaks All: Clinton Foundation Exposed! Involves Entire US Government!
You knew, you just knew, that this was going to happen. Sweet, sweet, schadenfreude...
Maybe, maybe not. But there ought to be some nuggets and food for thought in here somewhere. None of the supporting links went anywhere for me.
A thread on 4chan with an FBI insider confirms everyone's worst suspicions. The Hillary Clinton email server was merely a distraction from the Clinton Foundation and most of DC is in up to their necks in what could be the biggest scandal of all times. This inside info from someone claiming to be a high level FBI analyst whose job was to look at the records, with NOTES added to clarify some of the responses all this and more has been revealed and reported by Before Its News.

The smoking gun is about to arrive and there are "a lot of people involved". To save everyone time, here are the choice bits with the link to the entire archive, where you can decide for yourself if this is for real or not. Looks like Trump and Putin hold some of the cards. This could be the most interesting election ever.

This level of corruption is something expected in a developing country or a place like China, where they openly persecute good people and have industrial scale organ harvesting of Falun Gong and others. The Clinton Foundation is up to their neck with Jiang's vile regime in China, but there is so much to see here.

Why Hillary was Not Indicted

>>79480356 (OP)
Will she be indicted?

{NOTE: This thread was from BEFORE the announcement by Comey that there would not be any indictment}

>>79481119
There is intense pressure for us not to do so. I am posting from a position of near anonymity and enough plausible deniability to evade prosecution, as we have all been given gag orders.

There is enough for her and the entire government to be brought down. People do not realize how enormous this whole situation actually is. Whether she will be or not depends on how much info about others involved gets out, and there are a lot of people involved.

The real point of interest is the Clinton Foundation, not the e-mail server. We received the server from Benghazi, then from the server we found data on the CF. Then we realized the situation is much worse than previously thought.

Super Classified Materials on the Clinton Email Server

>>79481467
She had SAP level programs on her server, which if made public, would literally cause an uprising and possibly foreign declarations of war.

{NOTE: A Special Access Program is an intelligence program classified above top-secret. They are held on closed servers at secret locations. The only way to get one is if you are specifically read on to a program, have a need to know, then you must physically go to a location and pass through several layers of security to even look at the program. A good example in non-classified terms would be the locations and operations of our intelligence operatives around the globe, or our missile silo locations.}

The Clinton Foundation is the Key

>>79481382

>>79481397

The real point of interest is the Clinton Foundation, not the e-mail server. We received the server from Benghazi, then from the server we found data on the CF. Then we realized the situation is much worse than previously thought.

{NOTE: This explains why the investigation took so many people and so long}

A Bigger Problem than Hillary

>>79481665

Killing HRC would not cause this problem to go away. The problem is with the Clinton Foundation as I mentioned, which you should just imagine as a massive spider web of connections and money laundering implicating hundreds of high-level people. Though I do not have a high opinion of Hillary, she is just a piece -albeit a big piece -- of this massive shitstorm.

>>79481265
Legal is asking preliminary questions about whether or not she has been coached (she has) and setting up the general line of questioning. I am a high level analyst though, so my job is only to look at her records.

>>79482104
The DOJ is most likely looking to save itself. Find everyone involved in the Clinton Foundation, from its donors to its Board of Directors, and imagine they are all implicated.

The ENTIRE Government is Involved

>>79482245
My opinion is the entire government is guilty of treason, which is why HRC's death would not cease the investigation or prevent further scandals. Many, many people are involved.

>>79482342
There already is enough to indict. Comey has been trying to stall because he does not want to face the Clinton Machine, as well as the rest of Washington D.C. But this case would explode into a million other cases if fully brought to light, and then we would be one agency competing against the entire government and a hoard of other interests. It is a very tense and uncomfortable position.

What Lynch is saying is she will accept whatever they do and make her determination as she will. Nothing about her responsibilities has changed, she is simply trying to keep her hide intact.

Foreign Powers Have Some of the Documents

Trump Has Some of the Documents

Russia Will Probably Leak All Info they Have

>>79483349
Foreign powers are in possession of some of the documents we have analyzed, because they were hacked from the Clinton server. Trump has some files as well, and likely plans to leak them and use them to his advantage soon.

The leaks will have to be made in a non-transparent fashion.

>>79483350
If we recommend, we literally hand over documentation implying the entire government is involved in treason at the highest levels and everyone is about to duck and cover, as well as some sensitive details of SAPs which would obliterate national security.

>>79483587
I am not sure, but some of my war strategy buddies are estimating a high probability that Russia will leak all of the info they have to the world, since Clinton wants to go to war with them and they have no desire to be in conflict with the US.

>>79483751
If we do not recommend, it will look like a cover-up and Trump will use the perception to bolster his message. I did work in PsyOps once, and Trump's use of confirmation bias is legendary.

If Trump Wins, Hillary Goes to Jail

>>79484201
Bill Clinton will likely die this year.

Everything is Corrupt, Even Trump is Dirty

>>79484305
Impossible to say. The entire government is corrupt. No one is clean, not even Trump.

>>79484534
Trump has donated to the Clinton Foundation in the past, though for fairly innocuous things like building permits and such. He is smart, so his tracks are covered well. But if any prosecutor wants to go very in-depth Trump would be brought on bribery charges. He could easily get out of them, but he would be charged nonetheless.

>>79484664
We have our hands tied. My message to you and everyone on this board is do not get distracted by Clinton's e-mails. Focus on the Foundation. All of the nightmarish truth is there. The e-mails will pale in comparison.

>>79484759
I do not know of Trump's record, but from the case he definitely knew to limit his exposure and make it only look like a donation.

>>79484907
If Trump wins, HRC will be prosecuted. I have heard rumors Christie will be his AG, and Michael Flynn will be his VP pick.

A Multitude of Scandals

>>79485031
Saudi Arabia visits and donations to the CF. Russian Uranium fiasco. HRC and the Israel lobby, the Council on Foreign Relations. AIPAC. The list is endless.

Three Choices -- Could Crash Everything

>>79485572
I will put it to you this way: You have three choices,

A) turn over all of the information to the DOJ, make public a recommendation, the truth comes out, the entire world realizes how much the US is meddling in foreign affairs and we go to war, the civilian population realizes how much foreign money influences our government, and a civil war begins.

B) You cherry-pick the data to implicate the people already in the eye of public opinion, so the chips fall on the heads of a select few and the whole system does not crash.

C) You do nothing and watch the unstable political climate to gauge how you will respond.

I am confident if Trump wins she will be going to jail.

The Problem is the Entire Government

>>79485629
Comey will likely resign in any case. FBI is being very quiet for a reason, most of us want to keep our jobs.

>>79485655
Snowden has nothing to do with any of this.

>>79485706
Possibly. I don't know for sure.

>>79485756
Obama and HRC do hate each other. HRC hates black people and Obama dislikes recklessness. As far as the investigation, some details are correct. As to the outcome, no one knows.

>>79485779
Truthfully, not many. The FBI is rather fond of /pol/. We study more than we investigate.

>>79485920

The problem is with the entire government. HRC is one component of that government.

Hillary Sold SAP's to Overseas "Donors"

>>79486178
All I can tell you about the SAPs is HRC had them, and she did not have proper authority to have any of them. They were leaked to her by someone, and she did sell them to overseas donors. Possessing them alone makes her guilty of treason.

Obama is loosely tied to the CF, but much more tied in with the same people who donate to the CF.

>>79486240
Russian borders, Ukraine, everywhere NATO is, the South China Sea, the Phillipines, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Africa.

Soros is at the heart of all of this.

>>79486254
If it comes down to it, I would fight. But most of us are of the opinion that HRC will not be president, and having Trump in office makes our job that much easier. But right now we have to carefully wade through the mud.

>>79486263
As I stated before, BC likely wanted LL to focus on the e-mail server and shy away from prosecuting the foundation.

>>79486289
We will go to war with Russia and possibly China if she wins.

Obama Wanted to Postpone the Case Until 2018

>>79483056
Didn't Obama push to have the case postponed until 2018 as well?

>>79486562
There is talk of it. I do not know where the order came from.

A Difficult Position for FBI Insiders

>>79487155
If leaking data en mass destroys my country, we betray the country. If we do nothing, we betray the country. I am not disagreeing with you. I am saying the situation is more complicated when you are inside, and you do not have the breadth of info that I have that would make your eyes fall out of your skull if you knew what all was going on.

>>79487691
It benefits her because her donors have paid for it. I do not want to post any information about me or where I am, because if any hint got out that I posted anything, I would be fired and blacklisted. Possibly killed.

Soros Guiding Everything -- Global Government

>>79488021
Soros funds, instructs, and influences every layer of US government. right down to the tax code.

Correct theories: Huge Jewish influence, Soros as a puppet master, red team planner. You would have to ask specifically.

>>79490049
The goal (of Soros, since I assume that is what you are asking) is to create a global government where all people intermingle and breed and become on people ruled by a racially pure Jewish race. They sincerely believe under their rule all human conflict will cease because there will be no more cause for division. This desire is born out of a fear of the horrors of WWII. The Holocaust is a lie, but the death toll was still massive nonetheless. And many people were brutalized by it.

Russia Hacked the Clinton Email Server 100%

do russia (or others) have enough info to bring down clinton if they leaked it? would they be more likely to leak it or use it for blackmail?

>>79490064
They have enough to take her down. I am not sure of the totality of what they have. I can tell you that they 100% hacked her server.

Orlando and LA Gay Parade Attacks were Inside Jobs

>>79490062
are the incidents manufactured with the intent of harsher gun control laws?

>>79490153
Yes. They gay bar attacks were inside jobs.

If Everything is Exposed, Human Trafficking and all the Payoffs

>>79490632
>In regards to the Clinton Foundation, what would happen if all of this information ended up being released to the general public?

I said in the last thread, total chaos. The government would be exposed at every layer, who pays who, who buys what, and no one has yet asked about the human trafficking bits I have been laying out.

>What if you, you personally, leaked all the documents to the darkweb or some other online outlet. What would happen?

Silencing and/or death. Some places are trying to leak but we censor them too fast.

>Would the countries that would be named in the documentation declare war if there was a large change in government?

No, they would declare war because all of our secret operations in their countries would be exposed.

>Couldn't you have the AGs of some of the right aligned states indict her? If they were given enough information and documentation?

We have thought about this. It is on the table.

Get Smarter About Civil War (The FBI's Main Concern)

>>79490926
If a civil war broke out, 100% certainty China and Russia would get involved.

>Also, what fears would need to be resolved in order for the FBI to be willing to go nuclear on this bitch and the foundation?

This would be like launching a nuke at NYC. We would hit the target, but we would then be at war with the whole US.

The FBI is facing the entire federal government in this case. It is why we are so quiet.

Sex Rings in All Governments

>>79493354
Sex rings are popular in all governments, but pedophilia is primarily in British parliament & Saudi Arabia, and that's why HRC and BC love foreign donors so much. They get paid in children as well as money. Dig deep and you can find it. It will sicken you.

If my recollection is accurate this is quite incorrect and no senior member of the FBI would throw around such a reckless allegation. Probability is this person has never been exposed to that sort of information but YMMV.

Top Federal Regulator Mignon Clyburn: ‘She' Will Be President
[Free Beacon] A leading federal regulator appeared to signal her support for Hillary Clinton’s presidential bid at a Tuesday event near the Democratic National Convention that also featured a senior adviser to the Clinton campaign.

Federal Communications Commissioner Mignon Clyburn suggested that Clinton, not Republican rival Donald Trump, would be the next president of the United States in remarks made in her official capacity.

Clyburn, a former acting chair of the FCC, "suggested she’s ready to take a larger role if called to do so again," according to a Communications Daily report on the event.

"I’m looking forward, whatever my title is, to working with whoever she is that will be elected soon," Clyburn said. She then acknowledged her use of the word "she."

"Yes, I said it out loud," Mignon said.

Politicians Demand Merkel Deport 200,000 Migrants
[LI] Due to recent terrorist attacks, German politicians have now asked Chancellor Angela Merkel to deport over 200,000 migrants who failed to gain asylum. Homeland expert Armin Schuster said:

In his appeal for a speeding up of deportations, Mr Schuster said: "Some could get the impression they could get away with anything because they don’t realise how mildly the state reacts to those breaking the law."

Burkhard Luschka, domestic policy spokesman for the Social Democratic Party parliamentary group, agreed with him: "We have to be better at enforcement. Asylum seekers or refugees who are rejected have to leave Germany."

Schuster also said all the refugees have overworked those in the Federal Office or Migration and Refugees, which may have caused many mistakes:

In his appeal for a speeding up of deportations, Schuster warned that the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees was overworked and expressed doubts over whether the bureau could check the accuracy of refugees’ countries of origin. As a result, many false or incomplete cases ‐ where the claimant has no identity papers ‐ may be allowing migrants to stay in the country when they don’t deserve to.

"Some could get the impression they could get away with anything, because they don’t realize how mildly the state reacts to those breaking the law," Schuster told the two papers.

The domestic policy spokesman for the Social Democrats’ (SPD) parliamentary group, Burkhard Luschka, agreed that "we have to be better at enforcement" and that "asylum seekers or refugees who are rejected have to leave Germany."

Ship 'em to the country they claimed to be from when they initially applied for refugee status. And announce that will be the procedure going forward, so all those who applied are being given thirty days to correct any errors in their original applications. However, this being Germany, documentation to support the correction will greatly enhance their probability of being believed.

Documentary “Hush” Focuses on Physical and Mental Health Ramifications of Abortion
[LI] Just last week, my husband (a licensed therapist) and I were discussing the pro-life cause and how the lasting mental health ramifications are criminally underreported. He explained that of the many issues women face, there is seldom any trauma he’s encountered that rivals the aftermath of abortion.

A new documentary, "Hush", explores what really happens to women, both physically and mentally post-abortion.

"Women who have an abortion history are at a higher risk for substance use, for anxiety, for depression..." one of the film’s participants explains. "This really has nothing to do with the morality of abortion, per se, it’s the morality of telling the truth about it."

Hush documentary trailer.

'60 Minutes' Doesn't Air Hillary Dodge About DNC Interference
[The Weekly Standard] Philadelphia - Democrats find themselves in disarray on the eve of their national convention. A leak of internal Democratic National Committee emails--quite possibly enabled by the Russian government--has revealed some embarrassing evidence the party was actively interfering in its presidential primary on behalf of Hillary Clinton and against Bernie Sanders. The chairwoman of the DNC, Florida congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, will resign her position at the end of the week and will not play a role at the convention.

The Wikileaks news was breaking Saturday when CBS's Scott Pelley sat down with Clinton and her new running mate, Virginia senator Tim Kaine, for an interview that aired Sunday evening on 60 Minutes. There's plenty covered in the interview that ran on TV, but perhaps the newsiest topic of the day, the DNC turmoil, didn't make it into the broadcast. In a video posted under the banner of 60 Minutes Overtime and touted as an "unaired" clip from the interview, Pelley asked Clinton and Kaine about the leak. Clinton's answers--or, more accurately, her non-answers--on what she knew about DNC interference in the primary were...curious. Among them was Clinton's unwillingness to say any such intervention by the party committee to favor one candidate would be "improper."

Pelley began by reading some of the emails among DNC staff members suggesting ways to undermine Sanders's campaign. "Did you know anything about any of that?" he asked.

"No, I didn't know anything about it, and I haven't read any of those," Clinton responded.

Pelley kept pressing. "You have people in the Democratic National Committee who are supposed to be, if you will, agnostic about who the nominee is going to be, and they seem to have their thumb on the scale for you. They seem to be working against Bernie Sanders, their fellow Democrat."

"Again, I don't know anything, I don't know anything about, uh, about these emails. I haven't followed it," Clinton responded.

"In your view, any effort in the DNC to favor one candidate or another would have been improper?" Pelley asked.

"Again, I don't have any information about this, and so I can't answer specifically," Clinton said.

Who Is Putin's Real Ally?
[PJ] Oh, the vapors, the vapors! Donald Trump has done it again. He has a gone a bridge too far for the 150th time, but on this occasion taken us all the way across the Bering Straits to the very edge of the Gulag Archipelago. He has urged Vladimir Putin to reveal the contents of Hillary Clinton's gazillion missing emails the FBI somehow couldn't find.

Traitor! Traitor! yell the well-intentioned, like former SecDef Leon Panetta. This selfish yellow-haired plutocrat must be disqualified from the presidency!

Never mind that Putin would need no encouragement whatsoever from any outsider to hack the wide-open server of the former secretary of state, nor would the intelligence services of at least a dozen other first-world countries (they all do it--we were listening to Merkel's cell phone ourselves, it will be recalled), not to mention the who-knows-how-many non-state actors and twelve-year-old high-tech whippersnappers with the skill to do this.

Never mind that Trump was undoubtedly far less interested in making friends with Putin than in calling attention to the obvious relationship between Hillary's home-brew server and the similarly wide-open server of the DNC that Mrs. Clinton claimed to know nothing about. Her media lackeys on 60 Minutes made sure no one paid attention (hello, Scott Pelley!).

-Land of the Free
WP opinion piece on the DNC hack
Over at the CIA and the National Security Agency headquarters, they must be really enjoying watching Democrats in Philadelphia squirm over WikiLeaks’s exposure of tens of thousands of internal Democratic Party emails. There’s a word for what is happening in the intelligence community:

Blowback.

Throughout the entirety of the Obama administration, nothing was done as WikiLeaks damaged our national security with its serial leaks of highly classified intelligence documents.

But WikiLeaks has finally crossed a “red line” (pun intended) that has earned it the Democrats’ outrage. Instead of targeting the CIA or the NSA, WikiLeaks has gone after an organization Democrats actually care about — the Democratic National Committee.
If I were a conservative commentator who had the chance to opine on this on television in any broadcast, my one, single message would be this: "Wiki can't leak what isn't there to leak in the first place. The DNC staffers wrote these emails. Not one of them yet has been cashiered. Tells you all you need to know about the Democrats."

Bernie Sanders Leaves the Democratic Party
h/t Instapundit
The nomination was barely sealed up at the Democratic National Convention before Bernie Sanders, who had campaigned against Hillary Clinton for the party’s nod, went back to being an Independent.

Sanders, who considers himself, officially, an Independent in Congress because his views lean further left than the Democratic party’s platform, caucuses with Democrats. But until declaring an intention to run for the presidency in 2015, he had rarely, if ever, identified as a member of the Democratic Party (he’s been in politics since 1979).

And now, despite pleading with his base to support Hillary, even though they’re concerned that she’s too moderate, Sanders will return to Vermont and to his seat in the Senate, and he’ll do it with no official party affiliation.

How Clinton Foundation Mainstreamed Al-Qaeda Fundraiser Abdurahman Alamoudi
[PJ] Right now, prisoner #47042-083, Abdurahman Alamoudi, sits in his cell in a federal prison in Ashland, Kentucky.

It's a long way down from being one of Hillary Clinton's favorite colleagues. Alamoudi organized White House events during the Bill Clinton administration. Under Hillary's supervision, he held official positions: Alamoudi was strategically placed at the White House, the Pentagon, and the State Department.

That is, until he was arrested and convicted in a bizarre Libyan intelligence/al-Qaeda assassination plot to kill the Saudi crown prince.
Libyan intelligence was it? Whatever happened to old Sprockets anyway ?
Later, he was identified by the Treasury Department as an Al-Qaeda fundraiser who had operated inside the United States.

Hillary Clinton and Abdurahman Alamoudi were no mere acquaintances. According to an affidavit filed in court by Georgetown professor John Esposito, Alamoudi was asked by Hillary Clinton to arrange the first White House Ramadan iftar dinner in 1996:

Affidavit filed by Prof. Exposito? Writing another book is he? This could be trouble !

Britain
British Churches Put on Terror Alert After Normandy Attack
[PJ] Nothing to see here...

Police last night warned Britain’s Christians to be on alert amid fears they could be targeted by Islamic State jihadists.
Security was increased at the country’s 47,000 churches after an 84-year-old priest was beheaded by Muslim fanatics in France. The killing in Normandy was the first known attack claimed by IS inside a church in the West after compiling a hitlist of places of Christian worship.

Adel Kermiche, one of the two French teenagers killed by police after carrying out the morning slaughter ‐ filmed on a mobile phone ‐ told a friend two months ago: ’I’m going to do a church.’

Last night counter-terror police in Britain disclosed they had ’circulated specific advice’ to places of worship.

Deputy Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu said: ’Following recent events in France, we are reiterating our protective security advice to Christian places of worship and have circulated specific advice today. We are also taking this opportunity to remind them to review their security arrangements as a precaution.

There you have your new normal. Churches need to "review their security arrangements".

Siggy Weaver at DNC: Beest Understands ‘Moral Obligation' of Tackling Climate Change
[Breitbart] Sigourney Weaver spoke in support of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton at the party’s national convention in Philadelphia on Wednesday, where she discussed her "deep concern" about climate change while introducing a warning video directed by James Cameron.

"As an American, I am also deeply concerned about my family’s future, indeed about our shared future as a nation, because that future is at risk," the 66-year-old Alien star and environmental activist said.

"You see, when we talk about greenhouse gases, warming temperatures or deadlier droughts, even more destructive storms, what we’re really talking about is people," Weaver added. "They’re the people you’re going to see in a few moments, people whose lives are affected by climate change right here in America, right now."

Krauthammer: Trump's Email 'Trap' Catches Hillary in 'Complete Contradiction'
[FOX] The Hillary Clinton campaign didn't take long to respond to Donald Trump's comments about how Russia should try to find Clinton's missing 33,000 emails.

"This has to be the first time that a major presidential candidate has actively encouraged a foreign power to conduct espionage against his political opponent," senior policy advisor Jake Sullivan said. "That’s not hyperbole, those are just the facts. This has gone from being a matter of curiosity, and a matter of politics, to being a national security issue."

Charles Krauthammer said on "Special Report" tonight that Trump set a trap, and the Clinton campaign fell right into it.

He explained that the Clinton campaign statement said it would be a "national security issue," which contradicts Clinton's repeated asserted that the missing 33,000 emails were all of a personal nature, not work-related.

"If that's what's really in the 33,000 emails, then there's no national security to be involved at all," Krauthammer said. "So the Clinton campaign ends up admitting that perhaps there really is work-related - if not classified - stuff on the emails which she deleted."

Krauthammer said that could be grounds for a charge of obstruction, declaring that the Clinton campaign has been caught in a "complete contradiction."

Germany: Palestinian Muslim shouts ‘Allahu Akbar' and tries to behead doctor

The link to the German language 'Focus' story is here.

Here's a link to another story from a local paper that gives more details:

The knife used in the attack was 30cm long with a serrated edge. This was serious.

Also the attacker (the father) shouted 'I am Palestinian! I have stabbed and killed so many Jews!'

No mention whether the attacker thought Dr. Tan was Jewish and whether that was the reason for attacking him.

The incident happened on Monday at a small clinic in Troisdorf. "The patient arrived around 10 o’clock in the evening accompanied by his girlfriend-in full burka. He was very aggressive from the beginning and things got worse when I started treating him", says the doctor to FOCUS Online.

The patient had a broken fibula or calf bone, a leg bone located on the lateral side of the tibia. "I explained everything to him and showed him the exercises he had to do. But he didn’t pay any attention to anything I said." Finally, the 19- year-old rushed out of the clinic only to return shortly thereafter with his brother and father, the latter armed with a knife.

The doctor had just completed surgery on another patient, when his wife called for help at the reception. He ran to her aid and found himself confronted with a man wielding a knife. "He shouted ’Allahu Akbar’ and wanted to behead me!" Recalled the doctor.

Both men immobilized the doctor. "Their father continued to shout at me. ’Apologize to my son, kneel before him and kiss his hand’ he said." In the clinic, panic broke loose.

An 82-year-old patient escaped through a window.

Fortunately, while the three men assaulted the doctor, employees and patients escaped, immediately calling the police, who arrived before the incident could escalate any further.

Police arrested the 19-year-old Muslim and his girlfriend, however the man’s father and brother had escaped before authorities arrived. Later that same evening the father and brother appeared at the police station with a lawyer in tow.

Meanwhile, the doctor’s wife suffered a heart attack due to the sudden shock and is currently recovering in a hospital.

Egyptian air force kills 25 jihadists in Sinai strikes
[IsraelTimes] Attack on Islamic State group near Rafah follows Sunday’s liquidation of police officer

The Egyptian army said Wednesday it killed 25 members of a militia affiliated with Islamic State

They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. in the northern Sinai, Sky News Arabia reported.

An aerial attack by military helicopters on a camp of the Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis

group killed 25 gunnies and maimed 15 others, near the border town of Rafah, the report said.

The attack was in response to the killing Sunday night of an Egyptian police major in al-Arish, the quiet provincial capital of North Sinai. The attack was claimed Monday by the Islamic State group, Egypt’s Interior Ministry said in a statement.

Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis has strong ties to Gazoo’s Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,. Israel’s Channel 2 television reported in June that the commander of IS forces in the Sinai made a secret visit to the Gazoo Strip to meet with Hamas terror leaders to widen their cooperation and coordinate attacks on Egyptian and Israeli targets.

Shadi al-Menei, one of the founders of Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis, met with leaders of the Hamas military wing and discussed the ongoing supply of weapons sought by Hamas.

Turkey was planning anti-Gulen army purge before coup — minister
[IsraelTimes] Turkish authorities were planning a major shake-up of the military to remove elements linked to US-based preacher Fethullah Gulen just ahead of the failed coup, a key minister says Wednesday.

Energy Minister Berat Albayrak, who is the son-in-law of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him...
, suggests parts of the military had wanted to act against the government as they knew they were about to be purged.

Albayrak, who was with Erdogan throughout the night of the botched putsch on July 15, says the president had first been warned about the coup by a civilian and it was only later that the gravity of the situation became clear.

In his first meeting with foreign news hounds since the coup night, Albayrak reveals that The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
’s Supreme Military Council (YAS) had this summer been planning to meet to expel all officers linked to Gulen, who Turkey blames for criminal masterminding the putsch.

"They were going to take really important steps to remove Gulenist officers and generals from the armed forces. We were already working on this."

He says this would have been part of a general purge against pro-Gulen elements that would have also extended to the legal system and other institutions.

"These people (linked to Gulen) were detected and the related lists had been conveyed to the line ministries."

He adds: "After they (the plotters) realized things were going like this, at their last breath, they took their final step (the coup)."

Spain arrests Moroccan brothers suspected of financing 'Islamic State'
[DeutscheWelle] The arrests have marked the first time authorities discover concrete evidence of the group's finance networks in Europe.

Spanish police on Wednesday locked away

" ("IS") myrmidon group's operations in Syria and Iraq, Spain's interior ministry said in a statement.

Police discovered a large amount of cash and telecommunications data at the brothers' home. The information is expected to assist authorities in exposing the myrmidon group's presence in Europe, police said.

"Investigators found that the two suspects, along with their brother who died in Syria, managed to send funds to financial administrators of the 'Islamic State' using false identities attributed to the terrorist organization's managers," the Interior Ministry said.

"These suspected identities form part of the 'Islamic State's' economic recruitment center at the international level, as evidenced by international contacts identified in the investigation," the ministry added.

Spanish authorities said the investigation marked the first time concrete evidence of European money transfers to the Islamic State, adding that the arrests will help neutralize one part of the group's financial support on the continent.

At least 30 people have been arrested in Spain this year over suspected links to Islamist myrmidon groups, including IS, the ministry noted.

The suspects have been detained and will go on trial once an investigation has been completed, the interior ministry said.

"The tossed in the clink

individuals planned to set up a vilayet (province) in Morocco affiliated to ISIS," it said, using an Arabic acronym for the IS group.

It said the arrests had foiled "terrorist plots at a very advanced stage of preparation on prisons, security establishments, festivals and leisure centres in several cities of Morocco, apart from liquidations of security officials, soldiers and tourists".

The suspects had been using social media to drum up propaganda for the IS group and to enroll young recruits to join up and travel to conflict zones, the ministry said.

It said raids on homes had unearthed documents on the fabrication and use of explosives and firearms, as well as books inciting suicide kabooms.

Rabat says 159 "terrorist cells" have been busted since 2002, including 38 over the past three years with ties to snuffies in Iraq and Syria.

A study by the US-based Soufan Group said last December that at least 1,200 Moroccans had travelled to fight alongside IS in Iraq and Syria in the previous 18 months.

Mali Arrests Senior Jihadist Blamed for Military Base Attack

jihadist group on Tuesday close to a central military base where he is accused of planning an attack that killed 17 soldiers.

"Today, at around 4:00 pm (1600 GMT) our special forces captured Mahmoud Barry, alias Abou Yehiya," one of the most senior figures in the group's branch operating in central Mali, an intelligence officer told Agence La Belle France Presse.

Other security sources confirmed the arrest, adding that Barry was the "emir" of Ansar Dine's Macina combat unit and was behind several attacks on Malian security forces since last year.

He is suspected of taking part in last week's attack on a military base of Nampala, near the border with Mauritania, that left 17 soldiers dead and another 35 maimed, said a security source.

The attackers stormed the site, which has been targeted multiple times since January last year, taking control of it for several hours and making off with military vehicles.

The government declared a 10-day state of emergency after what it called a "coordinated terrorist attack", which was claimed by Ansar Dine and another armed ethnic group.

Barry was captured between the military base of Nampala and Dogofri, in the central region of Segou.

Home Front: WoT
U.S.-backed forces gather trove of Daesh intel
[Free Beacon] The U.S. is examining a massive collection of digital documents and other data captured from Daesh by Syrian rebels fighting to retake the strategic city of Manbij. The intel includes notebooks, laptops, and USB drives amounting to more than four terabytes of digital information.

Military spokesman Chris Garver said that the U.S.-backed fighters, comprised of Kurdish and Arab forces, collected the material as they went throughout villages surrounding Manbij. He said, "It is a lot of material, it is going to take a lot to go through, then start connecting the dots and trying to figure where we can start dismantling ISIS."

The rebels also collected advanced math and science textbooks that had been rewritten to include pro-Daesh word problems.

Daesh has used Manbij as a strategic center to train, indoctrinate, and dispatch foreign fighters. Garver said the U.S. has begun to understand how Daesh processes militants once they migrate to Syria because of information collected around Manbij.

In a speech to soldiers, Defense Secretary Ash Carter said that Manbij is one of the final places linking Daesh's self-declared capital of Raqqa to the rest of the world. "And there, we’re already beginning to gain and exploit intelligence that’s helping us map their network of foreign fighters," said Carter.

U.S. special forces last year captured seven terabytes of data in a raid against senior Daesh leader Abu Sayyaf, which unveiled to the U.S. information about the Islamist group's leaders, financing, and security.

Afghanistan
Taliban claim they have shot down drone in Kandahar
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Talibs group in Afghanistan has claimed the fighters of the group have shot down a drone in southern Kandahar province of Afghanistan.

The group shared a photo of the downed drone captured which is apparently a reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle used by the Afghan forces.

The Taliban said the drone was shot down and captured in Maiwand district of Kandahar province but the security officials have not commented regarding the claims of the Taliban so far.

The drone seems to be of ScanEagle type which was recently delivered to the Afghan forces this year.

The Afghan forces are expecting to receive up to 70 ScanEagle drones under a contract worth $70 million awarded by the US Department of Defense.

The US Department of Defense (MoD) said late in November last year that the systems include 65 ScanEagle drones in total, along with spare parts, support equipment, field service support, as well as an in-theatre training facility.

EU vows to help France fight ISIS ‘barbarity’

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The head of the European Commission on Tuesday pledged "Europe’s solidarity and cooperation in the fight against barbarity", in a letter to French President Francois Hollande
...the Socialist president of La Belle France, an economic bad joke for la Belle France but seemingly a foreign policy realist...
after a church attack claimed by ISIS.

"More than ever, all over Europe, solidarity and cooperation will be essential in the fight against barbarity and to ensure that our shared values prevail," Jean-Claude Juncker wrote.

"The European Commission is fully mobilized, along with other European institutions, to provide all the support it can to La Belle France in these painful moments," he added.

In a statement, the EU’s foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini also expressed solidarity and offered her "condolences to the families of the victims, to La Belle France and the Catholic Church."

"Targeting a man of faith, of any faith, is always a crime against our common humanity because it means targeting the deeper essence of our lives, believers and non-believers alike," she said.

What Lies Behind Al-Nusra Front's Decision to Break Ties With Al-Qaeda
[SPUTNIKNEWS] Al-Nusra Front has reportedly signaled its willingness to sever ties with al-Qaeda and change its name. What lies behind the terrorist group's re-branding?

Following negotiations between Russia and the US on partnering in Syria, al-Qaeda's affiliate al-Nusra
...formally Jabhat an-Nusrah li-Ahli sh-Sham (Support Front for the People of the Levant), also known as al-Qaeda in the Levant. They aim to establish a pan-Arab caliphate. Not the same one as the Islamic State, though .. ...
Front has announced its decision to break ties with the terrorist organization and change their name, reports say.

The rumor emerged after US analyst Charles Lister tweeted Saturday that al-Nusra Front's Shura Council voted to break ties with al-Qaeda.

Citing a source close to al-Nusra Front in northern Syria, the media outlet noted that the announcement followed the US-Russian negotiations on teaming up in Syria in order to defeat Daesh and the al-Qaeda's branch.

"The US-Russian decision to attack Nusra in the north of Syria had pushed the Front to accelerate the announcement of its separation from Al-Qaeda through the social media, in order to protect itself from any attack… Had the Americans and Russians not announced their decision to hit the organization, the rupture would not have been announced," the source said as quoted by the media outlet.

On the same day the Middle East Eye revealed that al-Nusra Front would change its name to Jabhat Fateh al-Sham, citing sources within the terrorist organization.

Interestingly enough, the sources also added that al-Nusra Front would lose its access to al-Qaeda's funds. However, the claim has been immediately thrown into question by experts.

The media outlet cited Mohamed Okda, an expert who has been involved in negotiating with Syrian rebel groups. Okda pointed to the fact that al-Nusra Front is mostly funded by private Gulf donors. He also stressed that the separation is not ideological but "organizational."

Brother killed Qandeel over 'taunts by friends', says mother
[DAWN] The mother of Qandeel Baloch, the social media sensation who was murdered in a so-called 'honour' killing, said her son strangled his sister after being taunted by his friends over her behaviour.

The murder of Qandeel, who shot to fame posting risque videos and statements on Facebook, shone a spotlight on such killings and re-ignited calls for legislative action to curb the crime.

Speaking to AFP from her home in the village of Shah Sadar Din, Baloch's mother Anwar Wai wept as she recalled the shocking death at the hands of brother Muhammad Wasim.

"He killed my daughter after being taunted by his friends. They would infuriate him and tell him she is bringing you dishonour," she said, surrounded by her husband as well as an adult son and daughter.

23 Taliban militants killed in Kunduz airstrikes: MoD
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] At least 23 Taliban snuffies were killed during Arclight airstrikes in the restive Kunduz province in North of Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) said Wednesday.

According to a statement by MoD, the Arclight airstrikes were carried out in Dasht-e-Archi and Qala-e-Zal districts in the past 24 hours.

The statement further added that the artillery units of the Afghan National Army (ANA) forces also pounded the Taliban hideouts in the two districts.

According to MoD, at least three Taliban snuffies also sustained injuries during the Arclight airstrikes in Qala-e-Zal and Dasht-e-Achi.

The anti-government armed myrmidon groups have not commented regarding the report so far.

Kunduz is among the relatively volatile provinces in North of Afghanistan where the anti-government armed myrmidon groups are actively operating and frequently carry out insurgency activities.

The Talibs launched a major attack to capture the strategic Kunduz city by launching its spring offensive earlier this year but the attack was repulsed by the Afghan forces.

US to deploy 800 aviation troops to Afghanistan
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The United States will deploy at least 800 soldiers from an aviation unit to Afghanistan in a bid to support the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF), it has been reported.

According to Washington based Stars and Stripes newspaper, the unit will utilize Blackhawks, Chinooks and Apache helicopters with a primary mission of supporting Afghan military efforts.

The soldiers belong to 1st Combat Aviation Brigade of the 1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley.

Lt. Col. Kimeisha McCullum, a division spokeswoman, said soldiers can expect medical evacuation and logistical support missions, but declined to say whether U.S. troops will play a role in close air support or training their Afghan crewmember counterparts.

"The brigade has trained long and hard for this important mission, and the men and women of this great unit are prepared and ready," Maj. Gen. Wayne W. Grigsby Jr., the commanding general of the 1st Infantry Division, said in a prepared statement about the deployment.

25 dead found in Fallujah

(IraqiNews.com) Anbar – Anbar Provincial Council announced finding a mass grave containing the skeletal remains of 25 persons.

The member of the security committee in Anbar Provincial Council Rajee Barakat al-Eissawi informed, “Security forces found a mass grave inside the teachers’ institute building in the center of Fallujah. The grave contained skeletal remains of 25 persons who were executed by ISIS during its control on the city.”

Eissawi added, “All the bodies have gunfire traces. A special committee will work to identify the victims.”

ISIS executes 4 in Deir ez-Zor

[ARA News] HASAKAH – Extremists of the Islamic State (ISIS) on Wednesday executed four Syrian men in the eastern Deir ez-Zor province on charges of “supporting enemies of the Caliphate”, local sources reported.

The four young men were arrested while helping a number of families to escape the besieged city of al-Bukamal in Deir ez-Zor province.

“The ISIS-led Islamic Police in al-Bukamal captured the four young men and brought them to the Sharia Court, which decided to publicly execute them on Wednesday afternoon,” media activist Samir al-Khallaf told ARA News in al-Bukamal.

“The ISIS court accused them of supporting the enemies of the so-called Caliphate,” al-Khallaf reported.

The four men were reportedly beheaded in front of hundreds of people in the Tayyara square in eastern al-Bukamal city.

“Their only guilt was helping women and children to escape this miserable life under Daesh [ISIS] terrorism,” father of one of the victims told ARA News, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Also on Wednesday, ISIS militants arrested ten civilians in al-Bukamal for attempting to flee the city, which has been under siege by western-backed Syrian rebel fighters for weeks.

In the meantime, the radical group has distributed videotapes for its propaganda campaign against the US-led coalition to the people of Deir ez-Zor province in eastern Syria, calling on people to support its alleged caliphate in the fight against what it called ‘enemies of Allah’, media activists reported.

Arabia
Soddy coalition supports Campaign to Purge Terrorists From Abyan
Senior military sources told Asharq Al-Awsat that the decision to purge terrorist groups from the province of Abyan and deploy security forces in cities and districts across the province has been taken once and for all. They added that the battle to rid the province of terrorists will take place shortly and that the coalition will also participate in it.

The sources alluded to the intensive preparations that the military and security forces in Aden have been making for weeks and said that two different forces will participate in the battle. The first force will purge terrorist groups from Abyan and fight against them, and this force will be formed of army troops, People’s Committees and members of the resistance. The second force will install and man security points and control government facilities and protect them. This force will be made up of security belt forces.

The same sources said that Arab coalition forces in Aden will oversee the huge military operation on the ground in which more than 5,000 fighters will participate. 2,000 of these fighters will fight in the battle against the terrorists and 3,000 fighters will maintain security and stability and set up checkpoints.

The sources added that the commander of the People’s Committees in the province of Abyan Abdul Latif Al-Sayyid will accompany military and civilian commanders in the upcoming campaign in which hundreds of soldiers who were trained in Aden months ago will participate.

Saudi coalition bombs Houthi militia sites near Najran
[Al Arabiya English] South coalition forces have bombed Houthi militia sites close to the border city of Najran on Tuesday. Tens of Houthi militias were reportedly killed during the attack.

Tuesday's attack comes after five Saudi border guards were killed on Monday in clashes with armed groups seeking to enter from Yemen, state television al-Ekhbariya reported, citing the Saudi interior ministry.

A ministry statement added the border guards detected attempts by “hostile” armed groups to cross the border on several fronts in the southern region of Najran on Monday morning. Eight hours of clashes ensued.

Peace talks in Kuwait between Yemen’s government and the Houthis to end the conflict have dragged on for more two months with few concrete results. A truce that began on April 10 has dampened fighting, but skirmishes continue almost daily.

India-Pakistan
Using 'Crazies' Like Hafiz Saeed Will Harm Pakistan: Former Diplomat Husain Haqqani
[NDTV] Pakistain's "obsession" to match India in military strength and efforts to equalise the field with "crazies" like Hafiz Saeed
...founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba and its false-mustache offshoot Jamaat-ud-Dawa. The United Nations declared the JuD a terrorist organization in 2008 and Hafiz Saeed a terrorist as its leader. Hafiz, JuD and LeT are wholly-owned subsidiaries of the Pak intel apparatus, so that amounted to squat...
, would only create hatred which will bite it back, former Pakistain Ambassador to US Husain Haqqani has said.

"My argument as a Pak is why do we even want to be equal (with India in terms of military prowess). Why do not we want to be happier and prosperous and successful," he said.

"What is this obsession about being equal and trying to equalise the field with crazies like Hafiz Saeed because he will only create hatred, which will only bite us back," Mr Haqqani said in Bengaluru last night during an interaction on his book 'India vs Pakistain - Why Can't We Just Be Friends'.

"Pakistain always had this presumption that India has a tremendous conventional military advantage and Indian army will be much more bigger than Pakistain's. So Pakistain needs irregular methods to be able to be equal," he alleged.

Mr Haqqani recalled a private conversation of former Pakistain President General Pervez Perv Musharraf
... former dictator of Pakistain, who was less dictatorial and corrupt than any Pak civilian government to date ...
with Pak newspaper editors, wherein he said Lashkar-e-taiba was his reserve core for fighting India and thus establishes the strong nexus between ISI, turbans and Pak establishment.

"He (Musharraf), in a private meeting with Pak newspaper editors, had said 'Well all of you keep telling me or some of you keep telling me that I should shut down Lashkar-e -taiba, but it is actually my reserve core in fighting India,' a fact that establishes a strong nexus between ISI, turbans and Pak establishment," Mr Haqqani said.

The former Pak envoy said it was disturbing to know that a head of a country had thought so as these turbans "would not do good to Pakistain" as the world had seen them attacking Shias, Ahmediyas and Christians in Pakistain, apart from India.

Mr Haqqani said unfortunately Pak strategic thinkers in uniform do not realise this "disturbing line of thinking of patronising turbans and outfits like Jaish-e-Mohammad
...literally Army of Mohammad, a Pak-based Deobandi terror group founded by Maulana Masood Azhar in 2000, after he split with the Harkat-ul-Mujaheddin. In 2002 the government of Pervez Musharraf banned the group, which changed its name to Khaddam ul-Islam and continued doing what it had been doing before without missing a beat...
and Lashkar-e-taiba."

Throwing light on the Jihadi movement in Pakistain, the former diplomat said Zia-Ul-Haq was not the first man to spread jihadi awareness as is presumed, but it was much before him.

"There is a presumption that Zia-Ul-Haq was the first man to start jihadi awareness, but I argue that no it was even further back and there was always a desire for irregular warfare," he said.

Asked how to shut down the large armed militias, Mr Haqqani said it was not easy because they are well trained in warfare.

But the establishment can put them out of business if they are denied the resources for their mobility and movement, he said.

"If we make this decision now it will take some 15 years to put their business out," Mr Haqqani added.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Kurds pound Syrian rebels' positions in Idlib
[ARA News] AFRIN – Kurdish forces of the People’s Protection Units (YPG) on Wednesday launched an offensive on strongholds of Syrian Islamist rebel groups in the northwestern Idlib province.

The YPG bombed headquarters of the Ahrar al-Sham Islamic Movement in Idlib countryside, killing at least eight militants and wounding 13 others, according to military sources.

This comes just one day after fighters of the Ahrar al-Sham and Nusra Front (al-Qaeda branch in Syria) bombed Kurdish villages in Afrin district in northern Aleppo province.

Dozens of Kurdish civilians were killed when militants of Nusra and Ahrar al-Sham hit the Jumla and Diwan villages in Afrin countryside earlier on Tuesday.

“The mortar shelling by those radical Islamist groups has killed and injured over 30 civilians on Tuesday,” a medical source in Afrin told ARA News, adding that some of the injured were in critical conditions amid shortage of medical staff and equipment.

“The field hospital of Jinderis in Afrin cannot provide the injured people with efficient treatment due to the shortage of specialists and medicines,” the source said.

Speaking to ARA News, YPG official Hezan Hado said that the attack on the Islamists strongholds in Idlib came in response to their offensive on Kurdish villages of Afrin.

The Grand Turk
How Erdogan Pulled Off the Perfect Coup and Could Ruin Turkey
[Haaretz] Every general with few wars to fight and time on his hands to think about power or self-aggrandizement knows the recipe for staging a coup d’etat.

You wait for the leader you’re toppling to be out of the country. Ifhe’s not, you make sure you take him prisoner in the first hour or so.

You dispatch the troops at dawn so that the country awakens to a fait accompli. You seize control of major transportation infrastructure, like bridges and airports. Other troops are dispatched to take over television and radio stations.

Fighters battling Islamic State gather trove of documents
[REUTERS] U.S.-backed forces fighting to drive Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
out of northern Syria have gathered a massive trove of documents and data belonging to the holy warrior group, potentially shedding more light on its operations, a U.S. military official said on Wednesday.

The material, gathered as fighters moved from village to village surrounding the town of Manbij, includes notebooks, laptops, USB drives, and even advanced math and science textbooks rewritten with pro-Islamic State word problems, Colonel Chris Garver, the U.S. military front man in Iraq, said in a news briefing.

The U.S.-backed fighters - an alliance of Kurdish and Arab forces - have gathered more than 4 terabytes of digital information, and the material, most of it in Arabic, is now being analyzed by the U.S-led coalition fighting the holy warrior group.

"It is a lot of material, it is going to take a lot to go through, then start connecting the dots and trying to figure where we can start dismantling ISIS," Garver said, using an acronym for Islamic State.

Coalition advisers, knowing that Manbij served as a strategic hub for Islamic State, specifically described to fighters the kind of digital and other material to gather as they battled the group's forces, Garver said.

A U.S. special forces raid last year in Syria against a senior Islamic State leader, Abu Sayyaf, produced 7 terabytes of data, U.S. officials said, revealing information about the group's leadership, financing, and security.

The information gathered around Manbij has so far shed light on how Islamic State processes imported muscle once they enter Syria, Garver said. Manbij served as a key receiving area for imported muscle on their arrival.

"As a foreign fighter would enter, they would screen them, figure out what languages they speak, assign them a job and then send them down into wherever they were going to go, be it into Syria or Iraq," Garver said.

Fighters from the U.S.-backed alliance have in recent weeks made incremental advances as they try to flush out the remaining Islamic State fighters in Manbij.

DC Official Convicted Of Bribery Gets No Prison Time, $100 Fine
[DAILYCALLER] A former District of Columbia official convicted of felony bribery will spend no time behind bars and pay a fine of only $100, according to the D.C. Office of Inspector General (IG).

U.S. District Judge for the District of Columbia Amit Mehta recently sentenced former D.C. Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs contact representative Lucretia B. Barksdale to just three years’ probation -- including 180 days home confinement -- and 80 hours of community service.

Barksdale used her official position to extort money from customers seeking business licenses and construction contracts, according to the IG. The judge sentenced Barksdale July 13, but the IG didn’t announce the sentencing until last week.

Freddie Gray trials to cost Baltimore City $7.4 million
[ABC2NEWS] The trials of four officers charged in the death of Freddie Gray will cost Baltimore City an estimated $7.4 million according to the mayor's office.

The mayor's office director of public affairs Anthony McCarthy confirmed that Baltimore City alone will be responsible for covering the $7,471,785 cost associated with the trials.

The cost includes the mistrial of Officer William Porter as well as the acquittals of Officer Edward Nero, Officer Caesar Goodson, and Lt. Brian Rice.

#1  Poor State's Attorney Mosby. 6-0 in a *very* high profile case. If only one of the cops had rolled on the others. Which they might have, if she hadn't wildly over-charged.

Baltimore would have spent $7M easy on clean-up and overtime after the riots, so attempting to do the cops is probably a wash. But that's not the only bill for this sordid affair:
* Blacks now have 'proof' the justice system is rigged.
* Police/citizen encounters will be more volatile.
* The cops feel betrayed.
* The city needs the cops for 2 things: security and revenue. Crime will go up, ticket revenue will go down.
* The cops feel betrayed.

Not bad for a few months work! Props to the judge for being a stand-up guy.

The Grand Turk
Turkey dismisses military, shuts media outlets as Yezhovshchina deepens
[REUTERS] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
on Wednesday deepened a crackdown on suspected followers of a U.S.-based holy man it blames for a failed coup, dismissing nearly 1,700 military personnel and shutting 131 media outlets, moves that may spark more concern among its Western allies.

So far, tens of thousands of people - including police, judges and teachers - have been suspended or placed under investigation since the July 15-16 coup, which Turkey says was staged by a faction within the military loyal to the Moslem holy man Fethullah Gulen.

Gulen, who lives in self-imposed exile in Pennsylvania but whose movement has a wide following in Turkey where it runs a large network of schools, has denied any involvement in the failed putsch.

Western governments and human rights
...which are often intentionally defined so widely as to be meaningless...
groups, while condemning the abortive coup in which at least 246 people were killed and more than 2,000 injured, have expressed concern
...meaning the brow was mildly wrinkled, the eyebrows drawn slightly together, and a thoughtful expression assumed, not that anything was actually done or indeed that any thought was actually expended...
over the extent of the crackdown, suggesting President Tayyip Erdogan may be using it to stifle dissent and tighten his grip on power.

Erdogan, who narrowly escaped capture and possibly death on the night of the coup, denies the crackdown has wider aims and says the Gulen movement threatened democracy by attempting to build a "parallel state" within the military, media and civil service.

On Wednesday, the military dishonorably discharged 1,684 of its personnel, a Turkish government official said, citing their role in the failed coup. Of those, 149 were generals and admirals, said the official, who requested anonymity. Data show that would represent roughly 40 percent of all generals and admirals in Turkey's military.

Broadcaster CNN Turk has reported that more than 15,000 people, including around 10,000 soldiers were tossed into the calaboose so far over the coup, citing the interior minister. Of those, more than 8,000 were formally incarcerated
Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un!
pending trial, it said.

In addition, the government said in its official gazette that three news agencies, 16 television channels, 45 newspapers, 15 magazines and 29 publishers have been ordered shut down.

These moves, which follow the closure of other media outlets with suspected Gulenist ties as well as the detention of journalists will further stoke concerns among rights groups and Western governments about the scale of Erdogan's post-coup purges.

The United States said on Wednesday it understood Turkey's need to hold perpetrators of the attempted coup to account, but said the detention of more journalists was part of a "troubling trend".

Nearly 300 ISIS militants killed in Nangarhar operations, MoD claims
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] At least 300 loyalists of the Islamic State

of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group have been since a major operation was launched against the supporters of the terror group in East of Afghanistan.
All of them are key commanders, too.
Officials in the Ministry of Defense (MoD) have said the holy warriors were killed during the operations, Shaheen 18, in Nangarhar

province.

Deputy MoD front man Mohammad Radmanish confirmed around 300 ISIS loyalists were killed and around 100 others were maimed during the raids.

He said the operations will continue until all areas along the Durand Line in eastern parts of country have been cleared from the presence of the terror group.

This comes as the Afghan commando forces launched a major operation in Nangarhar province on Friday a day after the Minister of Defense Abdullah Habibi visited the province to kick off the operations.

The Afghan commandos shared numerous pictures as they continued clearance operations in Kot district, including photographs which purportedly showed the compounds of the terror group in the province.

A compound used as a court by the loyalists of the terror group was among the compounds cleared by the Afghan commandos during the operations.

ISIS loyalists were using the compound to try those convicted of working for the government and were brutally executing them afterwards.

Hindu youth killed as communal tensions rock Ghotki after ‘sacrilege’ incident
[DAWN] GHOTKI: Communal tensions ran high in Sindh's Ghotki district on Wednesday, after a Hindu man was jugged
Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out!
for allegedly desecrating the Holy Koran a day earlier.

Two Hindu men were shot having tea at a stall in Ghotki's town of Mirpur Mathelo during an attack by a mob Wednesday. One of the victims, 17-year-old Dewan Sateesh Kumar, departed this vale of tears while his friend Avinash is in a critical condition, police said.

Local leaders of the Hindu community while talking to journalists here demanded protection of their lives and properties in wake of the tensions.

"A local trader Dewan Satesh Kumar has been killed," Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ghotki Masood Ahmed Bangash told Dawn.

He said police with the help of Rangers are trying to diffuse the tense situation, which emerged after villagers in Mehran Samejo near Daharki "caught" a Hindu man desecrating pages of the Koran.

Locals told Dawn that the Hindu suspect, Amar Lal, is a drug addict who had begun living in a mosque after converting to Islam a few month ago, adding that his mental condition is "unstable".

Bilawal condemns unrest in Ghotki
Pakistain People's Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Wednesday took notice of unrest in Ghotki district and directed the concerned officials to ensure community's protection in the district.

According to a statement issued by Bilawal House Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
's media team, Bhutto-Zardari directed PPP MNA Ramesh Lal to visit the victim's family and offer condolences and solidarity on his behalf.

The PPP chairman asked Sindh government to maintain communal harmony in Ghotki.

"Antisocial elements are fanning hatred and violence," the statement quoted Bhutto-Zardari, adding, "Nobody should be allowed to take the law into his hands."

Fresh clashes between Yemeni forces, militias
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Fierce festivities continued on Wednesday between Yemeni resistance forces and Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
militias in the areas of Masloub and al-Aqba in the Jawf district.

Sources close to Al Arabiya News Channel confirmed that Houthi militia commander Mabkhoot al-Husan and his supporters surrendered themselves to the popular resistance forces.

Coalition forces also confirmed that they were able to successfully strike Houthi targets and destroy vast weapons cash in the district of al-Ghayl.

The festivities comes after Soddy Arabia

Islamic State group takes credit for suicide bombing in northern Syria
[PBS.ORG] A jacket wallah detonated a truck of explosives in northeastern Syria Wednesday morning, killing at least 44 people.

The Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group grabbed credit for the attack, which struck near security headquarters in the predominantly-Kurdish city of Qamishli, located near the Turkish border.

The city was previously the target of IS bombings, most recently in April.

Rooters reported that Wednesday’s detonation was so powerful, it injured two people and shattered windows across the border in the Turkish town of Nusaybin.

"It was a busy road," Qamishli resident Dawood Dawood told The New York Times
...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...
via messaging app Viber. "There were many cars, and there were generators that feed the area with power; this is why the damage and corpse count were so high."

A second kaboom minutes after the first blast, originally thought to be a cycle of violence attack, appeared to come from a gas canister that caught fire by the truck, the News Agency that Dare Not be Named reported.
Rudaw adds:
At least 40 people are reported killed and more than 100 others injured in a twin kaboom in the Gharbi neighborhood of the Kurdish city of Qamishli in Syrian Kurdistan (Rojava), according to Syrian state TV.

The bombing is said to have targeted a neighborhood that is home to offices of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) and some of the autonomous ministerial buildings.

Initial reports say that among the casualties are civilians and members of the security forces.

There can be no doubt that Fr Jacques Hamel died a martyr's death
[CatholicHerald] Fr Jacques Hamel died a martyr’s death. Of this there can be no question. The 85-year-old priest was at the altar offering the sacrifice of Mass, the moment in which the Church makes present the sacrifice of Christ’s body and blood for the salvation of the world, and his blood was literally mingled with that of Christ. The savagery of the attack has left the secular world, and many in the Church, stunned. While there is a natural human revulsion to such crazed brutality, the Church was founded on such acts of bloody witness to the faith.

As Damian Thompson rightly pointed out for the Herald yesterday, what appears as an almost unimaginable horror in La Belle France is, tragically, a reality of daily Christian life for those living in Iraq and many other places in the Middle East. I say tragically; any loss of human life is surely a tragedy, but what the Church has proclaimed, from the moment of its foundation, is that the martyr’s crown is glorious. The willingness to receive death for the faith, rather than to deal it out, it the counter-intuitive core of the Christian witness of radical love, and what sets it apart from the pagan religions against which it was first proclaimed. One of the earliest legends concerning the conversion of St George is that, as a soldier in the Imperial Court, he converted after witnessing a Christian accept a sentence of death rather than recant their faith. This, he is supposed to have observed, is true courage to shame any soldier.

When Oscar Romero was beatified last year, many thought his cause was long overdue. Here was a man who had been killed in the very act of saying Mass, surely this was a martyr’s death. Others were more sceptical, not of the late Archbishop’s courage or holiness, but of his prudence by continuing to appear in public despite knowing the great risk of being killed for having spoken out against the violent oppression of the people; the question was asked: was his murder was really in odium fidei, or if it was more personally directed? Wherever you happen to be on that question, there is no such doubt in the case of Fr Hamel: he was killed simply and solely because he was a priest, in a church, offering Mass. The emerging accounts of the murders having preached their rationale from the altar immediately before or after martyring the priest only underscores the immediacy of their hatred for the faith.

Iraq
Abadi’s plan to incorporate Shiite militias into official army raises concerns
[RUDAW.NET] The Iraqi government is trying to turn the Shiite militia forces into an official army, but experts and observers believe this will not succeed.

According to a document recently published in Iraqi media, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi issued Ministerial order No (91) on February 22. "Reorder and restructure the Hashd al-Shaabi and its affiliated forces based on article 78 of the constitution and in the interest of the public," reads the order.

According to the order, the Shiite militia, known as the Hashd al-Shaabi, will officially become part of the Iraqi army and will play a similar role as the current Iraqi counter-terror agency. "The Hashd will become an independent military structure, and part of the Iraqi armed forces, with a direct link to the chief of the armed forces."

"The agency will be comparable to the current counter-terror agency in structure, will consist of command, general staff and combat brigades."

Recruited officials and members of this agency will work according to the applied Iraqi army rules, and should not have any political affiliations or become involved in any political activities, the order also stipulates.

Although the order was issued three months ago, a Shiite militia spokesperson announced just recently that the order is now being implemented.

"The work has started to turn the Hashd into a military institution parallel to the counter-terror agency," said Ahmed al-Asadi, spokesperson of the Hashd al-Shaabi in a statement to the media on Tuesday, according to Asharq Al-Awsat.

"The Hashd board will be directly linked to the prime minister, and like the counter-terror agency will be supplied and get training. But the order did not address the structure of the Hashd and the authority of its leader and deputy," he added.

Iraqi national security advisor Falah Fayaz will become head of the Hashd board, and Shiite militia leader Mahdi al-Muhandis will serve as his deputy, according to a source who spoke to Asharq Al-Awsat.

The decision to incorporate the Shiite militias into the national forces has raised worries that the move will stoke sectarian tensions.

An Iraqi source told Asharq Al-Awsat that, "The reveal of the document will deepen Iraqi disputes especially with the Hashd leaders and other Iraqi parties, and will lead Iraq towards an unknown fate in the shade of fighting, rivalry and use of those forces for sectarian purposes, as happened in Fallujah."

"There is pressure on Abadi to speed up turning those militias into a new institution parallel to the army," the source added.

Another source told the paper, "The goal of revealing the document is to push the prime minister to implement the order as soon as possible, since it has been issued but not been active. But announcing it now means starting to implement the order on a practical level."

But according to the source there are challenges that must first be overcome.

"There are many obstacles to forming this agency similar to the counter-terror one, as Abadi wants to do, because the requirements for those who want to join the counter-terror agency do not exist among the majority of Shiite militia members, requirements such as the age should be between 18 and 28, they should hold a diploma, should not have committed a crime, was never tossed in the slammer
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
by coalition forces, and should not be affiliated with any political parties," the source said.

"Also the number of militias is really high. We cannot put all of them into new squads and brigades."

Lawyers Repeatedly Flagged Illicit Politicking by Dem Legal Strategy Group
[FREEBEACON] Multiple proposed fundraising pitches by the new Democratic Lawyers Committee (DLC) invoked the names of high-ranking administration officials in what would have been violations of federal laws and White House policies against political activity by administration officials, according to emails between the group’s top staffers and their attorneys.

The hacked emails, released by the group WikiLeaks last week, provide a detailed narrative of the DLC’s formation and its hectic first few months, which saw celebrity attorney Gloria Allred micromanaging the group’s self-described "propaganda," a senior DNC staffer admonishing colleagues for nearly spoiling its rollout with illicit fundraising asks, and DNC staffers pretending to be then-chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz
...Congresswoman from Florida, the abrasive chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee. She has been a politician since 1992, and prior to that was in training as a political science major. Her primary accomplishment seems to be that she's Jewish...
on email in order to land a venue for a high-dollar fundraiser.

"The stated goal of the DLC is to organize the legal community and [we] must arm them with the information, contacts, and inspiration they need to provide significant support for the Democratic Party’s fight to maintain control of the White House and help elect Democrats up and down the ballot in 2016," according to talking points circulated internally.

The perks that attorneys get for their involvement with the group depend on the sums that they donate. For $500, they get "regular email updates including talking points, and the Party’s response to current events."

Those who give $150,000 annually, DLC’s top donor tier, get seats on the DNC’s national finance committee, VIP tickets to exclusive DNC events, and "access to special activities and invitations."

"DLC members will have access to insider knowledge of the DNC’s campaign strategy, which allows members to be more effective in their efforts on behalf of the President and his successor," according to the group’s donor pitch.

Column: The Democratic Party is not what it seems
[PBS.ORG] I left the Democratic Party in 2000. At that time, I got the chance to hear Ralph Nader speak while he was running as the Green Party presidential candidate. He exposed so much for me. Having spent five years prior working at the New York State Assembly as an aide, I got to know the underbelly of not just New York State politics, but how the Democratic Party functioned overall. And it is not good. Everything I had been taught about this party was a fallacy.

To credit Malcolm X in his famous The Ballot or the Bullet speech, we know well that in 1948, a racist faction grew out of the Democratic party called the "Dixiecrats." Now, it is only because the Republican Party is progressively the "white man’s party" that the Democrats can be seen as more open and diverse. Ultimately, the Democratic party is where progressive politics go to die. Supporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders
...The only openly Socialist member of the U.S. Senate. Sanders was Representative-for-Life from Vermont until moving to the Senate for the rest of his life in 2006, assuming the seat vacated by Jim Jeffords...
got a first-hand lesson in this.

Sander’s politics, which were never really socialist or even that progressive, were still unsupported by a party that claims to be for the people. In fact, if he was seen as progressive it’s because many of his ideas were taken right out of the Green Party platform. So what does the Democratic Party represent? Well, all it has done for the last 50 years is use people of color for votes.

I came of age under President Ronald Reagan, but so often, I heard the moniker that Bill Clinton
...former Democratic president of the U.S. Bill was the second U.S. president to be impeached, the first to deny that oral sex was sex, the first to have difficulty with the definition of is...
was America’s "first black President." But Bill Clinton moved the Democrats back to the center right, and he did it off the backs of African-American and Latino men and women in 1994 when he signed into law the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act. In 1996, he signed into law welfare reform that gutted the safety net for poor and working families. He deregulated Wall Street, passed NAFTA and ushered in a modern era of free trade that has had disastrous results for countries and people all over the world.

At the same time, I was witnessing the rise in mass incarceration under a Democratic president. Throughout Bill Clinton’s entire presidency, Hillary Clinton
... sometimes described as America's Blond Eminence and at other times as Mrs. Bill, never as Another Abel P. Upshur ...
was by his side in every sense of the word. She was not just a wife, the mother of his child or a First Lady. Hillary was a trusted advisor, a confidant. Her efforts to get the 1994 crime bill passed included her comment on "super-predators," which helped make a case for why mostly poor black and brown young people could be racially profiled and locked up. And, until recently, she was still taking money in donations from the same private prison corporations that benefitted from the incarceration of an entire generation of black and brown men in the first place.

What should the Democratic Party represent? What should be happening at this moment is Americans realizing that we need alternative parties and movements. No democracy should be a corporate duopoly. The American people cannot and should not expect adequate political representation from a party that was not created by them but only exists to assure that we have nowhere else to go. The presidency of Barack Obama
I am not a dictator!...
should be the final nail in that coffin.

Agency Admits It Destroyed Records After Six-Year FOIA Stonewall
[DAILYCALLER] Department of Labor (DOL) officials likely violated federal law when they said they had records requested under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), then six years later said they didn’t and deleted an email account that proved otherwise, Americans for Limited Government (ALG) said in a FOIA appeal Tuesday.

"At best, this is a case of mismanagement," ALG President Nathan Mehrens told The Daily Caller News Foundation. "At worst, well, use your imagination. Are they hiding something and trying to run out the clock in order to avoid sunlight into their operations?"

ALG claims in an appeal to the DOL solicitor general that department officials likely violated FOIA and the Federal Records Act by failing to conduct a reasonable search for documents and destroying potentially relevant email records.
Mehrens will file a complaint with the department’s inspector general in the next week.

150 party-goers detained in Iran in crackdown on immoral behavior
[RUDAW.NET] In their latest move to police the country’s morality, Iranian regime paramilitaries detained approximately 150 people for attending a mixed-sex party in the capital Tehran.

"A while ago, we received a tipoff about a mixed-gender party at a garden in the vicinity of Islamshahr, in the west of the Tehran province," Mohsen Khancherli, a police commander, told Iran’s Tasnim news on Monday.

"[Regime forces were able] to arrest tens of boys and girls during a joint operation with one of the relevant departments," he added.

Khancherli went on to say that efforts by the morality police in Iran to curb what they claim is immoral behaviour are being stepped up with more public areas and gardens being monitored by these authorities.

"In this garden, which was situated next to an unlicensed studio for recording underground music, nearly 150 boys and girls had gathered in a mixed-gender party under the pretext of a birthday celebration," he explained.

Morality police in Iran strictly police the mandatory wearing of the hijab by Iranian women in public, as well as the regime’s ban on alcohol. Partygoers found in possession of alcohol can be sentenced to lashings or prison sentences.

Monday’s arrests come as the regime appears to be cracking down harder on activities they deem to be harmful to society and un-Islamic.

On Sunday, Iran’s Basij militia, which rigorously enforces the morality laws, held a ceremony where they destroyed some 100,000 satellite dishes which they had confiscated from people. It is illegal to own a satellite dish in Iran, however despite this law most Iranians do.

General Mohammad Reza Naghi justified the wholesale destruction of tens of thousands of dishes on Sunday by claiming that "satellite channels ... deviate the society’s morality and culture."

"What these televisions really achieve is increased divorce, addiction and insecurity in society," he added.

In April, Tehran’s chief of police announced that they were recruiting 7,000 plainclothes police to combat "immorality" in the city.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Prosecutor in Freddie Gray case: I'm not anti-police
[CNN] Shortly after being elected last year, Baltimore State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby said prosecutors in her troubled city had the "toughest job in America."

It's not getting any easier.

After three police officers were acquitted in recent months of charges related to last year's high-profile death of Freddie Gray, prosecutors announced Wednesday they were dropping all charges against the three remaining officers facing trial in connection with Gray's death.

The news was a defeat for Mosby, who had announced the charges against the six officers in May 2015 -- four months after she took the job as the city's top prosecutor. At the time, she drew praise from some who admired how swiftly she took on the case, and criticism from others who said there wasn't enough evidence to convict the officers.

"To the people of Baltimore and demonstrators across America, I heard your call for 'No Justice, No peace,'" she said last year. "Your peace is sincerely needed as I work to deliver justice on behalf of this young man."

But on Wednesday Mosby said she had no choice but to drop the charges -- ending a 15-month legal saga that strained relations between her office and the city's police department.

'Dismal likelihood of conviction'

Still, Mosby struck a defiant tone. Standing at the intersection where police arrested Gray in April 2015 -- and with Freddie Gray's stepfather Richard Shipley at her side -- she railed against police officers whom she accused of kneecapping her office's investigation.

Police investigating police is "problematic," she said, citing "the obvious bias consistently exemplified" by some officers throughout the case. Officers who were witnesses were placed on the investigation team, lead detectives were uncooperative, the department launched a "counter-investigation" to disprove her case and officers created notes after the case was launched and gave them to the defense months before they were provided to the state, she alleged.

Baltimore Fraternal Order of Police President Gene Ryan called Mosby's accusations "outrageous" and "simply not true." Ivan Bates, an attorney for Sgt. Alicia White -- one of the six accused officers -- appeared at police union headquarters with his client and the other five officers and said it was Mosby's office that had denied the Gray family justice.

Given the near-certainty that the remaining officers would skip a jury trial and instead elect to be tried in a bench trial before Judge Barry Williams, who had already vindicated two of the officers, and given the "dismal likelihood of conviction," Mosby said she had no choice but to relent.

The sad thing is she'll at least be more competent than Cynthia McKinney. Of course my dog would be that
There is one thing though. No one in this country should wind up getting killed because of a traffic stop. No one should die because of a trigger happy law enforcement officer. If you do assault an officer, well then, that's a different ball game. I can understand the level of rage some in the black community in the US have when it comes to these events. But I think a lot of that rage is mis-directed. the rage should be directed towards the gang bangers and thugs who have turned inner city neighborhoods in combat zones.
If there are out of control police officers that willingly abuse the trust of the society they are supposedly serving they should be purged from the force and if the situation warrants be charged with any charges that can stand up in court. Not just the ones that provide good sound bites and get the DA on TV

ISIS posts video of men it says were French church attackers
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The ISIS hard boy group released video footage Wednesday it said showed two men who killed a priest in a French church pledging allegiance to ISIS leader His Supreme Immensity, Caliph of the Faithful and Galactic Overlord, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi
...formerly merely the head of ISIL and a veteran of the Bagram jailhouse. Looks like a new messiah to bajillions of Moslems, like just another dead-eyed mass murder to the rest of us...
The video, posted on the ISIS news agency Amaq, shows two young men with an ISIS banner, as one of them recites in Arabic in a strong non-native accent a traditional pledge of allegiance to the group’s head.

The two bearded men, calling themselves noms de guerre Abu Omar and Abu Jalil al-Hanfai, hold hands as they swear "obedience" to Baghdadi.

ISIS claimed Tuesday’s attack on a church in La Belle France during which an 86-year-old priest’s throat was cut, saying it had been carried out by two of its "soldiers".

According to Amaq, the two were "soldiers of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
who carried out the attack in response to calls to target countries of the Crusader coalition".

French cops suspect 2nd church attacker was wanted man

[IsraelTimes] French investigators probing an attack on a Catholic church believe one of the assailants is a young man who was wanted by anti-terrorism police, sources close to the investigation say Wednesday.

During a raid on the home of the attacker, 19-year-old Adel Kermiche, police found an identity card belonging to one Abdel Malik P, also 19.

“Several elements lead us to believe he is the second attacker,” say one of the sources close to the investigation.

Abdel Malik P., who is from the Savoie region, has never been convicted of a crime in France so his DNA and fingerprints are not available to speed up the identification process.

Sources say that after being gunned down by police, the second attacker’s face was too disfigured to allow him to be clearly identified.

However, the sources say that France’s anti-terrorism police unit UCLAT sent out a note four days before the attack — saying it had received “reliable” information about a person “about to carry out an attack on national territory.”

The note came with a photograph which “strongly resembles” Abdel Malik P.

Ansbach suicide bomber Mohammed Daleel 'fought for Isis and al-Qaeda' before coming to Germany
[INDEPENDENT.CO.UK] The bomber who went kaboom! and maimed 15 people in Ansbach fought for Isis before travelling to Germany, the group has claimed.

The group's weekly al-Nabaa online magazine said Mohammad Daleel took three months to prepare the bomb used in the attack.

The magazine, published late Thursday, said the 27-year-old Syrian, who went to Germany as an asylum-seeker, had previously fought for a branch of al-Qaeda in Iraq.

After the Syrian civil war erupted in 2011, Daleel formed a cell specialising in attacking Syrian government forces with hand grenades and Molotov cocktails.

Bavaria interior minister: Ansbach bomber's phone record suggests accomplice involved

[DeutscheWelle] Bavaria's interior minister, Joachim Herrmann, on Wednesday said that a suspected accomplice may have contacted the 27-year-old Syrian asylum seeker who blew himself up last week, injuring 15 people in the town of Ansbach.

"There was apparently an immediate contact with someone who had a significant influence on this attack," Herrmann said in a statement.

The state interior minister noted that the assailant was in an online chat immediately prior to the attack, although it is unclear who he was speaking to or whether it was a member of the "Islamic State" militant group, which claimed responsibility for the attack. The group said he had been in constant contact with a "soldier" of the self-declared Islamic State.

He said authorities discovered an "intensive chat" on the suspect's phone, adding it "appears to end immediately before the attack."

"Because of witness testimony on what happened and also the course of the chat, there are indeed questions about whether he intended to set off the bomb at that moment," he added. Herrmann noted that the bomb likely went off before it was expected to, highlighting the fact that the suspect killed himself and solely injured others.

#2  C'mon folks. The new Hilarity v6.0 has a superior exoskeleton and completely life-like movement. It's programmed to mimic a 85 75 69 year old woman shuffling down a nursing home hallway. It has even fooled the experts with that coded throat-clearing "cough". Unfortunately the AI isn't up to spontaneous questioning, even from a sycophantic press, and it sure won't look human under any significant stress.

So this is what you get for now. The new v7 due in January is going to be a major upgrade.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Syrian regulars cut off supply route into Aleppo
[Asharq Al-Awsat] Forces loyal to Syrian regime head Bashar al-Assad said on Wednesday that they had cut off all supply routes into eastern Aleppo, and the regime air-dropped thousands of leaflets there, asking residents to cooperate with the pro-Assad forces and calling on fighters to surrender.

Assad’s initiative comes a day after the United Nations said it hopes to restart peace talks in August.

Previous attempts at a diplomatic solution to end Syria’s five-year-old civil war collapsed in April, partly due to an uptick in violence in Aleppo.

On Tuesday, the army texted residents to ask them to leave the city and to give up their weapons.

Concern for those trapped in the opposition-held part of Aleppo is rising. The U.N. aid chief asked on Monday for weekly 48-hour pauses in fighting to allow food and aid to be delivered.

Once Syria’s largest city, Aleppo has been divided between opposition-controlled and regime-held sectors all through the civil war. Taking full control of the city would be an addition to Assad-held territory.

An advance by pro-Assad forces around the only remaining supply route into the eastern sector this month enabled them to fire on it at close range, making the battlefront Castello road too deadly to use and putting at least 250,000 people in rebel-held districts under siege.

“(Armed forces) have cut all supply routes and crossings which terrorists used to bring mercenaries, weapons and ammunition into the eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo,” a statement from the Syrian military general command said.

Assad had taken a habit out of unwarrantedly referring to all rebels as terrorists.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said eastern Aleppo had been under effective siege since July 11, and advances in recent days by pro-Assad forces had strengthened their control of the only route in.

“Today there is no way at all to bring anything into Aleppo,” Observatory Director Rami Abdulrahman said.

On the other hand, the U.S.-led coalition battling ISIS will look for chances to attack the hardline militant group in Syria from the south, potentially expanding U.S. efforts in that part of the country, U.S. Defense Secretary Ash Carter said on Wednesday.

“We will aggressively pursue opportunities to build pressure on ISIS in Syria from the south, complementing our existing and robust efforts,” Carter said, speaking to American troops at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

“This of course will have the added benefits of helping the security of our Jordanian partners and further splitting the Syria theater of operation from the Iraqi theater of operation.”

Recently, most of the U.S.-led military coalition activity, including air strikes in support of the Syrian opposition, has focused on northern Syria.

Passport officials murdered in Murzuk
Benghazi, 27 July 2016:

Demonstrators in Murzuk and nearby villages have been protesting the murder of two passport officials in the town.

The victims, Civil Registry manager Ahmed Ali Al-Salheen and local National ID officer Mousa Umran Al-Thomi were seized from their office and their bodies later discovered together 15 kilometres outside the town on the Sebha road.

Following the killings, all government offices in Murzuk were closed.

A Murzuk resident speaking to the Libya Herald on condition of anonymity said that both the men, who were Arabs, were suspected of being involved in the fraudulent issue of ID cards and passports. He added “ If that was why they were killed then they paid a high price for their actions”.

The Murzuq civil registry began issuing the new biometric passports 18 months ago, but the main systems are in Sebha. This has meant long delays in the town for people wanting to obtain the new travel document. This has in turn caused considerable local resentment.

There is no clear idea of who carried out these murders.

Jordan foils bid to enter Israel with petrol bombs
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Jordanian border guards on Tuesday nabbed
... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not...
a man as he tried to enter Israel in a car containing petrol bombs, an official said.

He was detained after ignoring orders at a checkpoint and trying to drive through roadblocks leading to the border, the source told AFP, speaking on condition of anonymity
... for fear of being murdered...
The source said the car was seized and found to contain petrol bombs which the driver had "intended to use illegally".

A statement from the armed forces also reported the arrest of a man and the seizure of his vehicle for "trying to cross the checkpoints on the road to a neighboring country".

"Materials used to carry out illegal acts were found in the vehicle, and the driver admitted that he intended to use them," the statement said.

Attempts to infiltrate Israel from Jordan are rare because of strict security measures on both sides of the border.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Cash Flowed to Clinton Foundation Amid Russian Uranium Deal
[NYT] The headline on the website Pravda trumpeted President Vladimir V. Putin’s latest coup, its nationalistic fervor recalling an era when its precursor served as the official mouthpiece of the Kremlin: "Russian Nuclear Energy Conquers the World."

The article, in January 2013, detailed how the Russian atomic energy agency, Rosatom, had taken over a Canadian company with uranium-mining stakes stretching from Central Asia to the American West. The deal made Rosatom one of the world’s largest uranium producers and brought Mr. Putin closer to his goal of controlling much of the global uranium supply chain.

But the untold story behind that story is one that involves not just the Russian president, but also a former American president and a woman who would like to be the next one.

At the heart of the tale are several men, leaders of the Canadian mining industry, who have been major donors to the charitable endeavors of former President Bill Clinton and his family. Members of that group built, financed and eventually sold off to the Russians a company that would become known as Uranium One.

ANC is running a racist election campaign, DA's Mmusi Maimane states
[BusinessDay Live] THE first black leader of SA's main opposition party on Tuesday accused the ruling ANC of running a racist election campaign, ahead of fiercely fought municipal polls.

DA leader Mmusi Maimane is hoping to lead his party to a breakthrough result on August 3, as the country struggles with record unemployment and flat-lining economic growth.

"They say if you are black, you must vote for the party (ANC)," Maimane told an election rally in central Johannesburg.

"That’s not the SA we want. To me that rings and sounds like racism."

President Jacob Zuma last week told black voters to rally behind the ANC party, denouncing the DA -- widely seen as a party of middle-class whites -- as the "spawn" of the apartheid government. Zuma has been engulfed by a series of graft scandals as well as anger over the country’s poor economic performance, fuelling DA confidence that the all-powerful ANC could be dealt a major blow at the election.
I hope none of those items recently stolen from Naval Base Simon's Town mysteriously turn up in Maimane's garage.

Washington's Union Station briefly evacuated over bomb threat
[REUTERS] Police declared an all-clear at Washington's Union Station and allowed people to re-enter the train terminal after a bomb threat on Wednesday forced a brief evacuation.

"We didn't find nothing. We wouldn't let you back in if it wasn't all clear," said a police officer, who did not give his name.

An Amtrak employee described the incident as a "false alarm" and said there would be a slight delay for trains.

The entire incident lasted less than an hour.

Scores of panicked people ran out of the U.S. capital's main railway station while police investigated a possible suspicious package after an earlier report of a bomb threat, police said.

A Rooters witness said people began running out of the station, a hub for railway, commuter train and subway service in the city, shortly after 5 p.m. EDT (2100 GMT).

During the alert, at least 20 police cars, a fire truck, an ambulance and vehicles from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Protective Service converged on the station.
