Don't Look Now, but the Global Oil Surplus Just Tripled
h/t Instapundit
Way back in June of 2014, oil was trading above $110 per barrel and producers were sitting pretty. Now, some 27 months later, those same producers have been put through the wringer and been forced to endure prices that dipped as low as $27 per barrel at the start of this year before recently settling in the $40-50 range. A global oversupply precipitated this price collapse, and its persistence has been as much of a boon for buyers as it has been a headache for sellers. Now, as Bloomberg reports, that glut appears to have tripled over the course of the past month:

Royal Dutch Shell plc (ADR) (NYSE:RDS.A) released its Q2 financial results for the fiscal year 2016 before the market opened on Thursday. As expected, Shell’s financials became a victim of slide in crude oil prices as the company experienced a plunge in its year-over-year (YoY) earnings.

Palestinians: Donald Trump shows 'disregard for international law'
PLO Secretary General Saeb Erekat on Monday condemned Republican White House contender Donald Trump for saying if he is elected, the US will recognize Jerusalem as Israel's undivided capital.

Olde Tyme Religion
conferences - Weighing Terror Threats against Global Mandates.
PARIS -- The decision by the international Committee on Space Research (COSPAR) to cancel its biennial Scientific Assembly in July -- just 12 days before it was to start in Istanbul -- is a cautionary tale for any conference organizer with a strong international mandate.

Founded in 1958, COSPAR’s principal mission is to promote global cooperation in space. Its Assemblies typically attract more than 2,000 participants, forcing the organization to select venues four years in advance to secure conference centers.

But while the choice of Turkey -- a rising space power at the crossroads of Europe and Asia -- might have seemed merely adventurous when the decision was made in 2012, by 2016 it had begun to appear risky.

The Assembly was scheduled for July 30-August 7.

On June 21, reflecting the abundance of caution to which any American receiving U.S. State Department travel advisories becomes accustomed, NASA advised its employees and contractors -- including the Jet Propulsion Laboratory -- that it would not sponsor travel to Istanbul for COSPAR.

COSPAR President Lennard A. Fisk, a former NASA Associate Administrator for Space Science and Applications, did not accept NASA’s rationale and, with the COSPAR board, decided to push forward with Assembly preparations.

On June 29, a terrorist attack at the Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport left 45 people dead and more than 230 injured. Still, Fisk reasoned, the airport’s security apparatus had succeeded in keeping the terrorists from the airport’s terminal. The meeting was maintained.

On July 14, a terrorist attack in Nice, France, during a a Bastille Day celebration killed 86 people and left 434 injured. Fisk and COSPAR persisted. "We cannot let terrorists dissuade us," he would say later.

The July 15 attempted military coup in Turkey was the last straw. Fisk wrote COSPAR members on July 18 saying the Assembly had been cancelled.

COSPAR’s experience is an extreme example of issues that confront organizations such as the International Astronautical Congress, whose 67th annual meeting starts this week in Guadalajara, Mexico, and whose 66th meeting last year in Jerusalem was a subject of a safety-related debate.

How should organizations whose reputations are built on their global reach respond to the terrorism issue? Two months after his decision, Fisk concedes there are no easy answers.

University of Utah finds legal case to impeach Trump
Ahhh... Yellow Journalism at its finest! Much like Yellow Snow...
(KUTV) Researchers at the University of Utah say there's a strong case to impeach Donald Trump, should he be elected as president.

Law professor Christopher Peterson
Who??
said he found ample evidence to charge the Republican candidate with fraud and racketeering, both of which are considered felonies within state and federal law.
But of course there is no evidence to charge or impeach Hillary.
In his analysis "Trump University and Presidential Impeachment," Peterson looked at Trump University, where students spent close to $30,000 to learn about practicing real estate. The for-profit college advertised curriculum and instructors chosen by Trump that promised students a high-caliber and selective experience.

But Trump University, according to Peterson, was unaccredited and taught students get-rich-quick schemes. The school closed in 2010 but still faces numerous lawsuits that could cast a shadow over his presidency, Peterson said.
I'm not familiar with Trump U but did it ever claim to be accredited?
"In the United States, it is illegal for businesses to use false statements to convince consumers to purchase their services," explained Peterson. "The evidence indicates that Trump University used a systemic pattern of fraudulent representations to trick thousands of families into investing in a program that can be argued was a sham. Fraud and racketeering are serious crimes that legally rise to the level of impeachable acts."
I don't know. If the University of Utah is accredited - this professor doesn't say much for accreditation. Perhaps not being accredited is a good thing?

Game On! Musk announces test fire of the engine for the Mars Colony Transport

The MCT will have a huge cluster of these engines.

Production Raptor goal is specific impulse of 382 seconds and thrust of 3 MN (~310 metric tons) at 300 bar.

Chamber pressure is almost 3X Merlin, so engine is about the same size for a given area ratio.

It is pumping to 45-50 MPa with multi-stage pumps.

Pretty close to a ~14 foot diameter nozzle for the vacuum form of the engine and 5 foot for the booster form.

Next to the Saturn V's 1st stage F-1, this will be the most powerful single nozzle rocket engine ever produced!

Leaked FBI Documents Reveal 7700 Encounters with Terrorists in the USA Many at Border
[Breitbart] Leaked documents with sensitive FBI data exclusively obtained by Breitbart Texas reveal that 7,712 terrorist encounters occurred within the United States in one year and that many of those encounters occurred near the U.S.-Mexico border. The incidents are characterized as "Known or Suspected Terrorist Encounters." Some of the encounters occurred near the U.S.-Mexico border at ports-of-entry and some occurred in between, indicating that persons known or reasonably suspected of being terrorists attempted to sneak into the U.S. across the border. In all, the encounters occurred in higher numbers in border states.

Some of the documents pertain to the entire U.S., while others focus specifically on the state of Arizona. The documents are labeled, "UNCLASSIFIED/LAW ENFORCEMENT SENSITIVE" and contain data from the FBI-administered Terrorist Screening Center, the organization maintaining the Terrorist Screening Database, also known as the "Terror Watch List."

The leaked FBI data are contained in a fusion center’s educational materials, specifically the Arizona Counter Terrorism Information Center’s (ACTIC) "Known or Suspected Terrorist (KST) Encounters Briefing" covering from July 20 2015 through July 20 2016. The leaked documents are composed of 10 individual pages, but Breitbart Texas chose to release only nine of them due to page 10 containing contact information for ACTIC.

Page Two of the documents contains a map of the entire U.S. with the numbers of encounters per state. The states with the highest encounters are all border states. Texas, California, and Arizona‐all states with a shared border with Mexico‐rank high in encounters.

Page Three shows a map of where the encounters occurred in the state of Arizona. The majority from this map occurred in Phoenix, a major destination point for people who illegally cross the U.S.-Mexico border. The map also shows that encounters occurred at ports-of-entry, likely from persons either walking up and asking for asylum or from Sinaloa cartel attempts to smuggle them into the U.S. in vehicles. Most significantly, the map shows that many of the encounters occurred near the border outside of ports-of-entry, indicating that persons were attempting to sneak into the U.S.

Page Six shows a pie chart indicating that the majority of encounters in Arizona were with Islamic known or suspected terrorists, both Sunni and Shi’a. Eighty-nine encounters were Sunni, 56 were Shi’a, 70 were "Other International Terrorist Groups or Affiliates," and only 52 were with "Domestic Terrorism."

Page 7 contains definitions to help understand the maps.

Military failed to conduct background checks on civilians in base housing, putting troops at risk
[Mil Times] Military officials have been taking an "unnecessary safety and security risk to military personnel, their dependents ... and assets" by not properly screening civilian tenants who apply to live in privatized housing on base, the Defense Department Inspector General has found.

In some cases, that included failing to conduct criminal background checks at one of the Defense Department's most highly classified sensitive installations, Fort Detrick, Maryland, home to the military's chemical and biological research programs.

"The consequences of unauthorized access to these types of facilities could be catastrophic," the Inspector General auditors wrote.

According to the report, some of the tenants also received access badges that expired after their lease is ended, including some that exceeded the lease termination date by six months or more.

Europe
It's Time, Mr. Trump: NATO Should Expel Islamist Turkey
[PJ] On September 11, Turkeyish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan used a less than two week-old government decree to sack 28 elected mayors, of whom a dozen were arrested for "actively engaging in acts of terrorism."

These firings represents a miniscule fraction of the government officials, including the military, who have been accused of conspiring to remove Erdogan from office in July.

In mid-July, Turkey’s major cities experienced a brief period of violence as members of the Turkish military tried to depose Erdogan’s government. Erdogan regained control of the country the next morning. He delivered a televised speech before civilian crowds at Istanbul's airport, and pro-coup soldiers surrendered to government forces.

President Erdogan has attempted, with less than a wisp of evidence, to pin blame for the coup on the Gulen movement. Run by U.S.-based Islamic preacher Fethullah Gulen, the movement has a favorable attitude towards secularism. It promotes interfaith dialog between Muslims, Christians, and Jews, and stands against racism and anti-Semitism. The recently sacked Turkish mayors were also accused of ties to Fethullah Gulen.

New Black Panther Chairman: Hillary ‘Not The Great Champion Of African-Americans'
[Breitbart] NEW YORK - Babu Omowale, the national chairman for the People's New Black Panther Party, is not excited about the candidates in this year's presidential election, stating that neither Hillary Clinton nor Donald Trump represent the interests of African-Americans.

Omowale reserved most of his invective for Hillary Clinton, declaring she is "not the great champion of African-Americans" before criticizing Bill Clinton's criminal justice policies.

The New Black Panther Party leader also slammed President Obama on race relations, stating America's first black president "has not done anything for the black community."

Omowale was speaking on "Aaron Klein Investigative Radio," this reporter's Sunday talk radio program broadcast on New York's AM 970 The Answer and NewsTalk 990 AM in Philadelphia.

Asked about his attitude toward Hillary Clinton, Omowale said:

"Hillary Clinton is not the great champion of African Americans. If you look at your history when her husband was president in the '90s, there were more African Americans to be locked up in this country than any other time because of some of the laws that he signed into law. Specifically, the drug laws of cocaine.

"So if a black man has a couple grams of crack versus a white man having a couple of grams of powder cocaine, black men where receiving sentences three and four times longer than that of his white counterparts. So we look at these as unjustifiable laws that were implemented up under the Clinton regime.

"So no. Hillary Clinton would not be a representative of the black community. Nor would Donald Trump be a representative of the black community. As far as black people are concerned, we really do not have a representative in this 2016 election year."

#5  Why link to Grant? Grant was good for African Americans while they have declined in every measurable category under Obama.

"President Ulysses S. Grant supported Radical Reconstruction and enforced the protection of African Americans in the South through the use of the Enforcement Acts passed by Congress. Grant suppressed the Ku Klux Klan, but was unable to resolve the escalating tensions inside the Republican party between the Carpetbaggers and the Scalawags (native whites in the South)."

7 Overdose Deaths in 1 Day Reported in Cleveland Area
[AP] Authorities were trying Sunday to discover the types of drugs involved in a spate of overdoses that killed seven people in the Cleveland area a day earlier.

The deaths Saturday was the latest outbreak of drug overdose deaths in Ohio.

Tests were being conducted to figure out which drugs were involved, Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner Thomas Gilson said. Officials suspect they were either heroin or fentanyl.

"This cluster of deaths is deeply concerning," Gilson said in a statement. "Although there is no clear link between the individuals, this number clearly raises the possibility of a very deadly drug in our community."

He issued a warning to take extreme caution while also advising people not to use illicit drugs.

Alan Dershowitz: I Warned Hillary About ‘Bigoted' Sid Blumenthal
[Daily Caller] Retired Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz says he has personally warned the Clintons about the toxic influence of adviser Sidney Blumenthal.

Dershowitz revealed his warning about Blumenthal during the first episode of "The Jamie Weinstein Show" podcast, where he also opened up about his relationship with Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, the state of American politics and the lessons he learned over his successful career.

Though he has endorsed Clinton for president, Dershowitz spoke about the threat he believes the "repressive" left poses to the Democratic Party.

"You call them progressive, I call them repressive," Dershowitz said. "There’s nothing progressive about that fringe. They want to stop free speech on campus, they don’t want to hear opposing ideas that are different from theirs, they create this concept of intersectionality, which is a code word for anti-Semitism."

Asked whether he worries that one the the leaders of the "repressive" left, anti-Israel author Max Blumenthal, is the son of top Hillary Clinton adviser Sidney Blumenthal, Dershowitz said he was deeply concerned about it.

"It is worrisome to me," he said. "What’s worrisome to me is that Sidney Blumenthal circulated his son’s [Max’s] writings, despicable writings. You know, they [the Trump campaign] wouldn’t use the words to attack David Duke. I will use those words to attack [Max] Blumenthal. He is a despicable anti-Semite and a horrible person and he should be marginalized completely. "

IDF official: Gaza tunnel-stopper only months from completion
[IsraelTimes] A senior military official says a massive underground barrier being built along the Gaza border to defend against Hamas tunnels should be completed in a matter of months.

The Southern Command official says the structure will include a wall deep below the ground as well as flooding parts of the roughly 60-kilometer (40-mile) border.

The official, speaking on condition of anonymity under military briefing regulations, says the goal is to turn Hamas’s underground network into a “death trap.”

During the 2014 war, Hamas fighters managed on several occasions to make their way into Israel through a tunnel network.

Zimbabwe: Khama Slammed for Shocking Behaviour
[All Africa] Government says it has been shocked by the strange behaviour displayed by Botswana President Mr Ian Khama who this week chose to throw away the tenets of diplomatic engagement and publicly criticised President Mugabe. In an interview with Rooters news agency, Mr Khama provocatively said President Mugabe was now too old and should retire.

This is despite the fact that President Mugabe was constitutionally-elected and has a running term until 2018.

Responding to Mr Khama's remarks, Information, Media and Broadcasting Services Minister Dr Chris Mushohwe said the sentiments by the Botswana leader were taboo in African etiquette and diplomatic parlance.

"The Government of Zim-bob-we is shocked by this uncharacteristic behaviour on the part of President Khama who until last month, was at the helm of Sadc, and should know better that you don't use the media platform to criticise fellow Sadc leaders as he has just done with President Mugabe," he said.

"It is a taboo in African etiquette and diplomacy. Cde Mugabe has at all times cautioned African leaders against attacking each other in public as this would serve to strengthen the hand of Western imperialism at the expense of African unity.

"In the case of President Khama, we need not to point out that he should have known better to keep his views about President Mugabe's age and administration to himself."

Dr Mushohwe said anyone who applauded Mr Khama for such untoward and unbecoming behaviour, was not only an enemy of Zim-bob-we, but the entire region.

"All those patting him on the back for a job well done are hypocrites who have sold their souls to the devil and do not mean well neither for Zim-bob-we nor this sub-region," he said.

"They are agents of regime change driving a foreign political agenda against national and regional interests. President Mugabe is a liberation icon and solid statesman who has fought for democracy and total emancipation not only for Zim-bob-we, but even the African continent as a whole."

Afghanistan
Afghan forces foil coordinated suicide attack in Paktika province
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) foiled a coordinated suicide attack plot by the anti-government armed militant groups in southeastern Paktika province.

The militants were looking to launch the attack with a Vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED).

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) said at least 9 militants were killed before they manage to reach to their target to launch the attack.

“The group had planned to launch a terrorist attack in Paktika province,” MoI said, adding that “Afghan National Security Forces confiscated one suicide vest, three AK-47 rifles, two pistols, five radio handsets, one explosives laden vehicle and some amount of light and heavy round of ammunition.”

MoI further added that the Afghan forces and the civilians did not suffer any casualties during the operation.

The anti-government armed militant groups including the Taliban insurgents have not commented regarding the report so far.

Militants belonging to the Taliban insurgents and the notorious Haqqani terrorist network are active in a number of the remote districts of Paktika province.

Ninevah Nightmares
Airstrikes sinks 100+ boats

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – Army’s 91st Brigade spokesperson Major Amin Sheikani on Sunday announced that nine ISIS boats were destroyed in an airstrike southeast of Nineveh, while the US-led coalition’s warplanes have bombed over 100 ISIS boats near Qayyarah and Sultan Abdullah.

“Today, the international coalition aircraft bombarded nine ISIS boats south-west of Nineveh province, destroying the boats completely and killing their occupants,” Sheikhani said.

Sheikhani added that the ISIS members were using the boats to transfer food and weapons between Sidaw, Makouk, Khabata, Salihiya and Khalidiya villages that are located on the banks of the Tigris River.

Meanwhile, the US-led coalition’s warplanes have reportedly sunk over 100 ISIS boats, destroying 65 of them on September, as part of efforts to blunt the ISIS use of watercraft to transport fighters and conduct attacks.

While the US and its allies have been striking ISIS boats for months, the last few weeks have seen a major increase in the number that have been sunk, with over 50 destroyed boats on September 16 and 14. Those strikes were carried out near the cities of Qayyarah and Sultan Abdallah, which are located along the Tigris River south of the ISIS-held city of Mosul.

Experts think that the increase in the number of strikes is tied to the upcoming effort to regain control over Mosul, which military officials have said could start as early as October.

Iraqi airstrike destroys car bombs in al-Houd

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – On Sunday, the international coalition aircraft bombed an ISIS truck near al-Mishraq Sulphur factory south of Mosul.

According to some Iraqi websites, “The international coalition aviation conducted an airstrike that targeted an ISIS truck near al-Mishraq Sulphur factory and killed its occupants.”

“The international coalition aviation also managed to hit two booby-trapped vehicles belonging to ISIS in al-Houd village south of Mosul,” they added.

Paralyzed Marine with robotic exoskeleton receives Bronze Star with V
[Stars and Stripes] CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. - When Capt. Derek Herrera was called to stand in the place of honor Friday at his retirement ceremony, he pressed buttons on what appeared to be a wristwatch as a fellow Marine came to his aid.

After another push of a button and three short beeps, Herrera rose, legs shaking, and walked deliberately toward his commander. With each step, the exoskeleton he wore emitted a robotic whirring noise, as though it were Iron Man striding through the cordoned off parking lot in digital camouflage.

Herrera was paralyzed from the chest down in June 2012, when he was shot in the spine while leading a team of special operations Marines on a patrol in Helmand province, Afghanistan. But Herrera, a 2006 graduate of the Naval Academy and the type of Marine who always ran to the sound of the gun, did not let the devastating injury end his career, said Lt. Col. John Lynch, commander of 1st Marine Special Operations Battalion.

"I’m not one that normally gets emotional, but I’ve got to tell you, your drive, determination and dedication ... it’s got me moved today," he said. "If a human being with your injury can walk again without the exoskeleton, it’s going to be you."

Herrera retired from the Marine Corps on Friday afternoon, in a ceremony in which he also received a Bronze Star with V for combat valor and a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.

Yemen's president lashes out at Iran during UN visit
United Nations (United States) (AFP) - Yemen's president hit out at Iran during his address to the United Nations on Friday, accusing Tehran of blocking peace moves through its support for Houthi rebels who continue to hold the capital.

"We shall extract Yemen from the claws of Iran. We shall raise the Yemeni flag over every foot of our precious soil," President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi told the UN General Assembly.

Hadi also urged foreign governments and financial institutions to back his government's decision to move the central bank from Sanaa to the southern city Aden. After the Houthis began diverting funds from Yemen's foreign reserves, Hadi sacked the central bank governor and announced at the weekend that the bank would relocate to Aden.

The latest round of UN-led talks ended last month between the government and the Houthis without a breakthrough and a ceasefire that had been in place since April was broken.

The president accused Iran of fueling extremism in the region as his country is home to Al-Qaeda's deadliest franchise and to an increasingly active branch of the Islamic State group.

"We tell the whole world in very clear terms that extremism and sectarian terrorism sponsored by Iran in the region has created and will create a terrorism that will be counter to that," Hadi said.

Yemen's prime minister and seven ministers returned to Aden on Thursday, setting up the government which had been in exile since October.

TF Iron Rakkasan Soldier reenlists after being wounded in action
[Clarksville] Ghazni Province, Afghanistan ‐ The Soldiers of 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry, Iron Rakkasan, has some tough Soldiers.

U.S. Army Sgt. William Bickers from Cincinnati, a mortar man for Battlehard Company, 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry, epitomized that strength September 16th.

While conducting a foot patrol through Andar district, Bickers, from Cincinnati, and his platoon came under contact from insurgents using AK-47s and rocket-propelled grenades. Two Soldiers sustained injuries in the attack before they were able to force them to flee. Bickers took a gunshot to his left arm and was evacuated to Forward Operating Base Ghazni for medical care. He was later moved to Bagram Air Field for higher-level treatment.

Being shot was only the beginning for Bickers. While lying in a hospital bed recovering from his injuries and surgery, Bickers was visited by U.S. Army Maj. Gen. John Campbell, Commander of the 101st Airborne Division. Campbell presented Bickers with two awards that day. The first was the Combat Infantryman’s Badge for his direct engagement with the enemy. The second was a Purple Heart for being wounded in the line of duty.

Another F-35 fighter jet catches fire
Another F-35A fighter jet - touted as the future of military aviation - caught fire during an exercise at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, the US Air Force has confirmed.

An investigation has been launched into what caused the fire, which was located in "the aft section of the aircraft," according to a statement from the Air Force. The jet was one of seven F-35As dispatched from Luke AFB, one of the bases responsible for joint strike fighter pilot instruction, as part of surface-to-air training at Mountain Home between September 10 and 24.

No injuries have been reported, but questions are being raised as to whether the fire may have originated in the F-35's F135 engine, manufactured by Pratt & Whitney, as was the case in 2014.

A 2015 report into a fire that destroyed an F-35A Lightning II at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida in June 2014, which resulted in the grounding of the entire fleet of the fifth generation fighter jet for almost a month, found the fire was caused by “catastrophic engine failure.”

Hildebeest Campaign Pressuring Lester Holt To Act As More Than A Moderator
The first presidential debate is Monday night at 9 p.m. ET. NBC’s Lester Holt will be the moderator, and I want to believe that he’ll be objective.

But the Clinton campaign isn’t happy with him, even though the debate hasn’t even happened yet. They’re actually pressuring Holt to take on a more "active" role in the debate, because Hillary can’t possibly present her vision for America and point out Trump’s factual inaccuracies at the same time. That’s not fair to her! Holt needs to help Hillary and continuously challenge Trump!

"It’s unfair to ask for Hillary both to play traffic cop with Trump, make sure that his lies are corrected, and also to present her vision for what she wants to do for the American people," Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook said on ABC’s "This Week."

Even George Stephanopoulos pressed Mook. Isn’t that the point of debating? Presenting your argument and disputing your opponent’s? That’s what you do in a debate. But Mook said this election is unlike anything we’ve ever witnessed before, so an exception should be made.

TTP ex spokeshole dies in Aghanistan
PESHAWAR: The former spokesperson for the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Azam Tariq, has been reportedly killed in Afghanistan’s Paktika province in air strikes carried out by Afghan and Nato forces.

Three other TTP leaders have also been reportedly killed by the joint Afghan and Nato airstrikes in the Laman area of Paktika provice, said Pakistani security sources.

Raess Khan, who used the nom de guerre Azam Tariq, was killed in air strikes late on Saturday.

An advisor of TTP's Khan Saeed Sajna group, Zeeshan Haider Mehsud, confirmed the death of Tariq and his son while fighting Afghan security forces.

The TTP advisor added that 10 other militants were killed in the fighting which erupted in Paktika province.

Khan Saeed Sajna, who had broken away from the TTP along with Tariq was reported killed earlier this year in an American drone strike which targeted the group in Afghanistan.

In 2014, Irfan Mehsud, a son of Azam Tariq, was killed in an exchange of fire with Pakistan Army troops in Bober.

Split from TTP
In May 2014, the outlawed TTP split into two factions after a major group based in South Waziristan quit the TTP and accused its leadership of having fallen into invisible hands and turning the TTP into an organisation providing safety to criminals.

“We announce separation from the TTP leadership which has deviated from its path”, Azam Tariq, spokesman for commander Khan Saeed Sajna had stated at the time of the split.

The new group was led by Sajna who changed his operational name to Khalid Mahsud.

It had accused the TTP leadership led by Mulla Fazlullah, the fugitive commander from Swat believed to be hiding in Afghanistan, of indulging in a baseless propaganda campaign against Afghan Taliban.

It had also accused the TTP leadership of killing religious scholars, extorting huge amounts of money from madressahs, carrying out bombings at public places on payment of money “from outside” and accepting responsibility for the bombings under assumed names and creating discord among different militant groups.

'Worse than Calais' Thousands protest three migrant camps minutes from Versailles Palace
[EXPRESS.CO.UK] ANTI-MIGRANT anger continues to boil over as the French Government pushes ahead with plans to force thousands of migrants colonists onto cities all across the country without consulting them at all

More than 1,000 protesters marched through the city close to Gay Paree to protest the decision to build migrant camps in three neighbouring towns.

The new centre means hundreds of migrants colonists will be housed just minutes from the luxurious Palace of Versailles, the former home of French royalty which attracts millions of tourists every year.

Protesters voiced their anger during the Saturday march after the plans were approved without their say.

The migrant centres will be open in Louveciennes, Rocquencourt and Yvelines - less than a twenty minute drive to the French Palace.

Opposition groups fear that the camps "could become worse than Calais".

Up to 400 migrants colonists will be housed in each centre, as protesters complained that they were "setting up Calais in our own towns".

Demonstrations against the Government's decision follows President Francois Hollande
...the Socialist president of La Belle France, an economic bad joke for la Belle France but seemingly a foreign policy realist...
's vow to tear down the Calais Jungle camp to replace it with "mini-Jungles" across the country.

Banners on the march read ’migrant camp = irresponsible state’ while others shouted out "resistance" and "we are the people".

The mayor of Louveciennes, Pierre-Francois Viard, where one migrant centre will be opened in early November, said that the state's project can gone ahead "without any consultation".

He railed against the plans which he said "will cause problems".

The mayor then called for continued "protests against the confirmed centres of migrants colonists in Louveciennes, Rocquencourt and now we are told in Yvelines".

Hungary police say Budapest blast was directed at officers
[REUTERS] Hungary's police were the target of a home-made shrapnel bomb that rocked central Budapest late on Saturday, injuring two officers, the national police chief said on Sunday.

Karoly Papp described the incident as a criminal case of attempted homicide, adding there was no sign that the attack had been carried out by a foreign holy warrior organization, but without ruling it out explicitly.

"We consider this attack occurred against the entire Hungarian police. Someone tried to execute my officers," Papp told a news conference.

He said the attack was clearly directed at police, who were known to patrol the area, on one of the busiest thoroughfares in central Budapest, on a Saturday night. The device exploded shortly after 10:30 p.m..

It was not immediately clear why police would be the target.

Both the officers needed surgery, with a female officer in a critical condition on Sunday and her male colleague stable.

Police have identified a suspect who was at the scene before the blast and asked for citizens' help to find him. Papp gave a description of the suspect, who he said was a 20-25 year-old male in blue jeans and a hat.
That description is both very specific and incredibly vague.
He gave no details on the suspect's nationality.

There was confusion about the cause of the blast on Saturday night, with initial reports suggesting it was a gas kaboom.
The Times of Israel adds:
According to the M1 news program, a person was seen by security cameras placing a bag at the scene shortly before the blast.

The incident comes days before Hungary holds a referendum October 2 on the EU’s quota plan for the mandatory relocation of migrants. The campaign has been marked by fears over public security, and government posters that have strongly linked migration and migrants to terrorism.

Charlotte's Keith Scott Had History of Violence Including Arrest for Shooting At Police…
[The Last Refuge] According to a story in The Christian Times, who they claim verified with The Charlotte Observer, Keith Lamont Scott had a two decades long history of gun violence, including an arrest/conviction for shooting at police officers in Texas. The New York Times has previously reported on his troubled past but not the 2005 shooting at police incident:

(Via NYT) [...] According to court records, Mr. Scott was born in South Carolina, was about six feet tall and weighed 230 to 250 pounds. While living in South Carolina in the 1990s, he was charged with a number of offenses including check fraud, aggravated assault and carrying a concealed weapon. Later, he moved to Texas where he shot and wounded a man in San Antonio in 2002, for which he was convicted and sentenced, in 2005, to seven years in prison. He was released in 2011. (link)

The Charlotte Observer also reported on Scott's extensive criminal career - and we did independently identify a criminal record in Texas - SEE HERE - which aligns with all of these reports.

Duterte orders military to stop paramilitary groups
[PNA] Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the military on Thursday to take complete control and stop paramilitary groups from operating amid ongoing peace talks with different insurgent groups in the country. Duterte said the presence of the civilian armed groups could undermine continuing peace initiatives.

Paramilitary groups were organized in the past to help government in its campaign against communist insurgents in rural areas. President Duterte particularly mentioned the Magahat-Bagani Force operating in Surigao del Sur and another group in Arakan, North Cotabato.

In his speech before scores of policemen here, Duterte stressed that he is pushing for an "inclusive government", not a coalition government with the leftist groups. He said he could come up with a peace deal with the communists as long as they do not insist on having posts in the nation's police and military.

The Duterte administration is currently holding talks with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), Moro National Liberation Front (MILF) and the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), headed by Jose Maria Sison.

Traffic kop gunned down in Karachi
KARACHI: A traffic police official was shot dead on Sunday in a suspected targeted attack in the metropolis’ North Nazimabad area.

“Sub-inspector Mohammed Arshad was performing his duty near Five Star Chowrangi when armed pillion riders opened indiscriminate fire on him from close range and fled.” said police officials posted at Shahra-e-Noorjehan police station.

One suspect was masked while the other was wearing a helmet, added the police officials.

The traffic police official sustained three bullet wounds and died while under treatment at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

Investigators have collected five 9mm casings from the scene of the incident.

“The traffic official was performing his duty in middle of the road, which has been dug up for Orange Line while another traffic policeman was performing his duty at some distance,” said DIG Traffic Dr. Amir Ahmed Shaikh.

He added it is very difficult for traffic police officials to protect themselves.

“This was second targeted killing of a traffic official this year while last year, several traffic officials were gunned down,” said the DIG.

Law enforcers claim to have busted one team of hit-men who were involved in targeted killing of traffic police officials.

The held hit-men have reportedly told the investigators that two or three more teams of hit-men were still active in the metropolis who were targeting the policemen.

Takhar deputy police chief escapes bomb explosion unhurt
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The deputy provincial police chief of northeastern Takhar province escaped unhurt from a roadside kaboom kaboom that left at least two people dead.

According to the local security officials, the incident took place in Khwajah Ghar district targeting police chief Haji Agha Dawood.

The officials further added that two security guards of Haji Dawood were killled in the attack and at least four others were maimed.

The anti-government armed myrmidon groups including the Taliban bully boyz have not commented regarding the report so far.

Takhar is among the relatively volatile provinces in northern Afghanistan where the Taliban bully boyz are actively operating in a number of its districts and often carry out insurgency activities.

In the meantime, the Taliban bully boyz have increased insurgency activities in some of the key northern provinces including Takhar and Kunduz as the group aims to expand its insurgency activities as part of its annual offensives.

The group launched numerous attacks in Kunduz and kidnapped several passengers earlier this year from the vicinity of Kunduz as well as the main highway connecting Takhar and Kunduz.

New York Times endorses Hillary Clinton for president
[YAHOO] The New York Times
...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...
published a resounding endorsement of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton
... sometimes described as For a good time at 3 a.m. call Hillary and at other times as Mrs. Bill, never as Another Edward Everett ...
on Saturday -- in the hope that it will persuade readers who are reluctant to cast a vote for another Clinton.

The paper’s editorial board explained that in any normal election year, it would compare the candidates on the issues side by side, but that it would be a fruitless endeavor this time around.

"A comparison like that would be an empty exercise in a race where one candidate -- our choice, Hillary Clinton -- has a record of service and a raft of pragmatic ideas, and the other, Donald Trump, discloses nothing concrete about himself or his plans while promising the moon and offering the stars on layaway," the board wrote.

The Times did not mince words in denouncing real estate mogul-turned-Republican-presidential-candidate Donald Trump as "the worst nominee put forward by a major party in modern American history." But the paper also said the best case to be made for Clinton isn’t that she’s not Trump -- it’s that she has the ability to meet the many challenges the U.S. faces.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Giuliani: U.S. Should Reject Two-State Solution Until Palestinians Give Up Terror
[Breitbart IS] TEL AVIV - Former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani, an adviser to Donald Trump, said on Saturday night that the U.S. should oppose a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict until the Palestinians can prove they are capable of renouncing terror, and also expressed his hope that the next president will nullify the Iran deal.

Giuliani was addressing the Israeli American Council (IAC) following four intense days of debate prep with Trump ahead of the Republican presidential nominee's face-off with Democratic contender Hillary Clinton Monday night.

"You can make peace between the two of them, but you can’t treat them the same," said Giuliani, slamming attempts at moral equivalence between the two sides.

"The United States should reject the whole notion of a two-state solution in Israel, or maybe it should restate it: It should be a two-state solution when the Palestinian Authority demonstrates that it can be a state, and not a homeland for terrorism," he added.

Concerns Raised Over Insecurity Along National Highways
Members of the public said on Sunday that they are concerned about what they called a surge in insecurity along the highways in the country and that people using them are often affected by insurgent activity.

Many have said that threats increase on a daily basis.

Hekmatullah, a resident of Jalalabad said: "Sometimes the Kabul-Jalalabad Highway is faced with security problems and it is closed."

"We were on the way to Nangarhar [province] when we were attacked and the highway was shut," said Mohammad Noor, a resident of Achin district in Nangarhar.

According to TOLOnews' Tamim Hamid, who visited different pick up points in Kabul for people traveling to provinces, drivers and passengers on route to Logar, Paktia and Khost also spoke of insecurity and harassment of passengers on the highway.

"Sometimes people are stopped by robbers and sometimes by Taliban," said Sediq, a resident of Paktia.

"Security on the highway is not good," said Wase, a resident of Logar.

Insecurity and conflict in northern and north-eastern provinces has also affected the security of highways more than in the past, Hamid reported.

"Kabul-Kunduz Highway is insecure. People are concerned about it," said Malik Mahmoud, a resident of Kunduz.

"We see reports on media about insecurity in northern parts of the country. The situation on the highway is not good," said Shafiq, another resident of Kunduz.

Talking on the issue, the deputy spokesman of Interior Ministry Najib Danish said: "The highway situation is better than last year, but it is not satisfactory. Parts of Number 1 (Afghanistan's ring road) and parts of highways in northern provinces are still faced with some problems."

Pro-Israel US Army vet runs for Congress ‐ on prosthetic legs
[Times of IS] Brian Mast likes to use the Israeli slang word achi. The Hebrew equivalent of "bro," an endearment among young men, it’s not something one would expect to hear in conversation with a United States Congressional candidate.

Mast, however, is not your usual aspiring American politician. A Republican running in Florida’s 18th Congressional District, Mast picked up achi and a few other popular Israeli expressions while volunteering with the Israel Defense Forces in January 2015. He was stationed that month at a base at Tel Hashomer outside Tel Aviv, where he packed medical kits and moved supplies around, including some heavy lifting.

While Israel was new to him, pulling his weight in a military environment wasn’t. Only two and a half years earlier, Mast was medically retired from the US Army following 12 years of service. During his military career, he earned the the Bronze Star Medal, the Army Commendation Medal for Valor, the Purple Heart Medal, and the Defense Meritorious Service Medal.

He also lost both his legs and a finger when, as a bomb disposal technician carrying out his duty in Afghanistan, he stepped on a hidden improvised explosive devise (IED).

#4  #2 Was there ever a question? Alas grom, I've got to admit I was suckered in--my naivete got the best of me. I started to get suspicious when Obama said there was not a scintilla of evidence prior to any investigation. Later, we found that he too lied because a POTUS pseudonym showed up in Hillary's garden patch server emails according to her body-woman Huma. Hillary then said with great certainty that there was nothing to see and that she would not be indicted. That is probably the only thing in her life she has not lied about. (After all, I should have known better--she lies about everything, the time of day, the day of the week, her severe illness, video tapes, Benghazi, Bosnia, her husband getting BJs in the WH, and on an on. She lied about the emails and during the cover-up.) She then sent hubby Slick to Phoenix to meet with remind Loretta of those things which are important to her. It was confirmed when , shortly after, Comey all-but-indicted her and then said it couldn't be done. This came right out of left field. So yeah, I guess I was naïve and suckered. Wasn't everyone?

Hekmatyar to visit Kabul likely in next couple of weeks
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The leader of Hezb-e-Islami Gulbuddin Hekmatyar
... who used to be known in intelligence circles as The Most Evil Man in the World but who now seems merely run-of-the-mill evil...
will visit Kabul
...the capital of Afghanistan. Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the World and didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either....
likely in next couple of weeks following the signing of a draft peace agreement with the Afghan government.

According to reports, several Hezb-e-Islami party leaders have started visiting Kabul in a bid to welcome the party’s leader.

"The former prime minister of Afghanistan of seven mujahideen coalition outfits is likely to engage in intensive dialogue with his friends in Taliban ranks and also inviting Pak authorities to join a joint effort to pave the way for foreign troops exit from Afghanistan when complete peace returns to the war-torn country," a source quoted in a report by The News said.

The source further added "A team of journalists who reported the long armed struggle of Afghan nation against Soviet army’s invasion of the country for more than ten years may also visit Kabul as soon Hizb-e-Islami Afghanistan chief sets foot in the capital."

According to the paper, diplomatic sources in Islamabad are optimistic about returning of Taliban to negotiation table after Gulbaddin Hekmatyar’s joining mainstream politics by shunning arms struggle.

The draf peace agreement between Hezb-e-Islami and the Afghan government was signed during a ceremony attended by high level government officials on Thursday.

The agreement is expected to be signed by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani
...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money. ..
and Hekmatyar in the near future.

The signing of the agreement came as Afghanistan High Peace Council and Hezb-e-Islami delegation participated in a series of negotations that lasted almost six months.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
The Russian jihad cometh: Part I
By Leon Aron

In June, three suicide bombers entered Ataturk Airport in Istanbul, where they killed 45 people and wounded 229. Although only one of the terrorist was from Russia (the other two were Uzbek and Kyrgyz), it is almost certain that that their last words to one another were in Russian. It is estimated that between 5,000 to 7,000 Russian-speaking jihadists have made Russian the second most popular language of Daesh, after Arabic.

That Russia is becoming widely-spoken is indicative of the explosive internationalization and the vastly expanded recruitment patterns of jihad based in Russia and former Soviet Central Asia. Behind this development is a confluence of broad demographic, religious, and political trends that have swept across Russia and post-Soviet space in the past two and a half decades — and that continue to be present today.

Hollande honors Algerians who fought for French colonizers
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] French President Francois Hollande
...the Socialist president of La Belle France, an economic bad joke for la Belle France but seemingly a foreign policy realist...
has acknowledged the state's culpability in abandoning Algerians who fought alongside French colonial forces in Algeria's war for independence - and were then massacred as traitors after the French retreat in 1962.

Tens of thousands of the fighters, known as harkis, were killed after the French withdrawal, and those made it to La Belle France were placed in camps. Their descendants have long sought official recognition that the harkis were unjustly treated.

Speaking Sunday in the Invalides monument that houses Napoleon's tomb, Hollande said, "I recognize the responsibility of French governments in abandoning the harkis, the massacres of those remaining in Algeria and the inhuman conditions for those transferred to La Belle France."

"La Belle France betrayed its promise, turned its back on families," he said, making the first official recognition of the state's role in abandoning the harkis.

The harki contingent included some 200,000 forces who had fought against fellow Algerians in a war seen as one of the darkest chapters in La Belle France's modern history.

Only in 1999, under then-President Jacques Chirac, did La Belle France officially admit that the eight-year combat that ended 132 years of French rule in Algeria was a war. The true number of Algerians who died in the war and its aftermath is unknown, as many were never identified. The wounds of the country's colonial past remain deep on both sides of the Mediterranean Sea.

In 2002, Chirac inaugurated a memorial near the Eiffel Tower to those who died fighting on the side of La Belle France, including harkis. Chirac also began what is now an annual ceremony for the harkis every September.

Other prominent politicians at Sunday's ceremony included Hollande's potential rivals for next year's election, conservative former President Nicolas Sarkozy
...23rd President of the French Republic. Sarkozy is married to singer-songwriter Carla Bruni, who has a really nice birthday suit...
and far-right National Front leader Marine Le Pen.

Africa Subsaharan
Zimbabwe: Zambian Mealie Meal Floods Victoria Falls
[All Africa] Zambian mealie meal
...a coarse flour made from corn (maize), it is a staple in sub-Saharan Africa because it is cheap, widely available, does not need refrigeration, and can be made into porridge, polenta, and beer...
has flooded the resort town of Victoria Falls despite a government ban on the importation of the basic commodity.
Zambia? You mean that place the white "settlers" went when their farms were stolen.
The Financial Gazette established that traders were making brisk business selling Zambian mealie meal at popular markets, while others moved around Chinotimba and Mkhosana townships on bicycles selling the product.

Some local shops also had stocks of the Zambian product, which sold for nearly half the price of locally produced mealie meal.

"It is the price and the quantity that matters," said a local trader.

"It all makes economic sense for the suffering residents," he added.

Investigations indicated that Zambian traders brought the mealie meal from across the border daily on bicycles for sale in Victoria Falls.

Two teen girls held in Nice over alleged terror plot
One is a known wolfette, both are Rachid's latest young friends on Telegram.
[IsraelTimes] Two teenage girls from the French city of Nice are being held on suspicion of planning an attack directed by a notorious Syria-based French jihadist, a source close to the investigation said Sunday.

The suspects, aged 17 and 19, live in the same area of Nice as Mohammed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel, the radicalized Tunisian man who drove the truck that killed 86 people in the city on July 14.

Searches failed to find any weapons at their homes.

The teenagers have told Sherlocks they had been in contact with Rachid Kassim, a French jihadist based in the areas of Syria and Iraq held by the Islamic State

group.

"They admitted they had been planning a violent attack under the influence of Rachid Kassim before abandoning their plans," a source in the investigation said.

The 17-year-old, who was not on the intelligence services’ radar before, has admitted "hating soldiers," the source said. She was charged on September with associating with terror suspects.

The 19-year-old is known to Sherlocks, having been in contact with another French citizen who recruits IS fighters, Omar Diaby. At the age of 17 she had planned to travel to Syria.

Kassim is emerging as a major concern for French anti-terror Sherlocks after he was found to be in contact on messaging app Telegram with numerous people who have either carried out attacks in La Belle France or been incarcerated

Erdogan Says Turkey Won't Join U.S. Raqa Op if Kurds Involved
How will President Obama, the smartest man in the room, square this particular circle, dear Reader?

group's stronghold of Raqa only if Kurdish fighters are not involved, a newspaper reported Sunday.

U.S. support for Kurdish forces in Syria is a sore point for Ankara, which considers such fighters to be "terrorists" linked to the Kurdish rebels waging a bloody insurgency across the border in southeast Turkey.

Washington, however, sees the Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) and its People's Protection Units (YPG) militia as the best forces fighting IS jihadists on the ground in Syria.

Erdogan said that if the U.S. conducted its Raqa operation with Syrian Kurdish forces, Turkey would "not have any place" in the offensive.

"If they do not insert the PYD and YPG into this business, then certainly, we can get (involved) with the U.S. in this fight," he told news hounds on the plane back from this week's U.N. General Assembly in New York, quoted in the Hurriyet daily.

Adding that it would be a "shame" if the U.S. and Turkey could not counter the 10,000 IS jihadists on the ground in Syria, he called for a "national army" of Syrian rebels to take the region's security into their own hands, saying there were 65,000 such fighters.
...all fighting at least as much between themselves as against their most dangerous enemy. If that answer had served, outside intervention would not now be needed, O great and beloved Sultan Recep I. And if your remaining loyal troops, with their shiny new promotions, were able to conquer on their own, outside intervention would also not be needed. 'Tis a quandary.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
12 years' jail sought for Palestinian child Manasra
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] An Israeli prosecutor called Sunday for a 12-year jail term to be handed down to a Paleostinian minor for stabbing an Israeli child in October 2015, his lawyer said.

Ahmed Manasra, a 14-year-old Paleostinian, was convicted in May this year of the attempted murder of two Israelis in a knife attack last October.

He was 13 when he carried out the attack with his 15-year-old cousin Hassan Manasra. The two stabbed and seriously maimed a 20-year-old and a 12-year-old boy in the Jewish settlement neighborhood of Pisgat Zeev in annexed east Jerusalem.

Hassan Manasra was rubbed out by security forces, while Ahmed Manasra was hit by a car as they fled.

Apology
Manasra's lawyer Lea Tzemel told journalists after a hearing behind closed doors that her client had apologized "to the child he stabbed, who was present in court".
Golly.
After his conviction in May, she said Manasra "said he just wanted to scare Jews so they'd stop killing Paleostinians".
Then you should have just waved the knife around instead of using it on people.
"The prosecution is demanding a 12-year prison sentence," she said on Sunday.
Just like the grown-ups get?
"We have requested a procedure of reintegration, given that he is a minor and minors have more rights when it comes to reintegration into society," Tzemel added.
Quite right. After ten years they'll start getting him used to being an uneducated, unskilled man in the West Bank, because he threw away the right to live under Israeli rule.
Manasra, an east Jerusalem resident, was the youngest Paleostinian to be convicted by an Israeli civilian court in the current round of violence.

Early last month, Israeli politicians approved jailing children as young as 12 convicted of "terrorist offences" following repeated attacks by young Paleostinians.

Violence since last October has killed 230 Paleostinians, 34 Israelis, two Americans, one Jordanian, an Eritrea
...is run by the People's Front for Democracy and Justice (PFDJ), with about the amounts of democracy and justice you'd expect from a party with that name. National elections have been periodically scheduled and cancelled; none have ever been held in the country. The president, Isaias Afewerki, has been in office since independence in 1993 and will probably die there of old age...
n and a Sudanese, according to an AFP count.

Israel says most of the Paleostinians killed were carrying out knife, gun or car-ramming attacks. Others were rubbed out during protests or killed in Israeli air strikes on Gazoo. The court is to sentence Manasra on November 7.

Morocco’s Islamists plays down royal tensions as poll campaign begins
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Morocco’s governing Islamist party opened its campaign for the kingdom’s parliamentary election on Sunday, playing down tensions with the royal establishment.

The Oct. 7 ballot will be the second since the 2011 Arab Spring-like protests that prompted King Mohammed to introduce a new constitution to diffuse unrest and give the elected cabinet more powers.

While rulers in Libya, Tunisia and Egypt were felled by the 2011 protests, King Mohammed succeeded in stifling the protest movement by devolving some of his absolute power, spending heavily and tightening security, though the palace still holds ultimate authority.

The Islamist Justice and Development party (PJD) is looking to strengthen its position, though it is not openly challenging a royal establishment that is distrustful and ill at ease sharing power with Islamists.

Victory signs
"These are the signs of victory," Prime Minister and PJD leader Abdelilah Benkirane told thousands packed into a sports stadium in Rabat, where party supporters chanted against corruption, one of PJD’s main policies.

"In 2011 the PJD said no, we won’t risk our monarchy ... now all that instability has disappeared thanks to the reforms."

The elections will select politicians for the country’s 395-seat House of Representatives. The prime minister will be selected by the king from the party that wins most seats, with PJD favourite to remain the dominant party.

Whoever wins, however, will then face weeks of wrangling to form a coalition with political partners to comply with election law that does not allow one party to take full control.

Political rival
PJD’s main rival, the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), promises to fight Islamism and cancel what it says are unpopular reforms carried out by the PJD’s coalition, mainly the pension system reform.

In an effort to calm recent tensions between the PJD and some in the royal establishment, Benkirane said that his party’s five-year relationship with the monarchy has been one of cooperation rather than confrontation.

The PJD and its junior ally have accused the establishment of favouring their main rival PAM, the founder of which is now a palace adviser.

The palace says the king maintains the same distance from all political parties.

Rabat’s mayor and PJD member Mohammed Sadiki said: "We have been working wisely and calmly and we will get the job done, without conflicts and without battling."

How Indonesia put down terrorism - for now
[The Atlantic] Jonathan Tepperman, the managing editor of Foreign Affairs, makes a striking claim at a time when terrorism seems to be spreading: While small-scale attacks occasionally occur in the country, “The big truth is that Indonesia has come close to effectively eliminating the threat of extremist violence” from Islamic terrorist groups.

Tepperman lists five factors behind Indonesia's success. The five factors offer insight into some of the root causes of terrorism and Islamic extremism, but they also reveal the limits of Indonesia as a model — both on its own merits and for other countries.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Mall shooting suspect was 'zombie-like' when arrested, officials say
More on this story from yesterday.
[FOXNEWS] A suspected gunman believed to have killed five people at a Washington state mall was locked away
Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit!
Saturday, according to authorities.

At a news conference, officials said they had not ruled out any possible motives for why 20-year-old Arcan Cetin allegedly shot four women and one man at the Cascade Mall in Burlington Friday evening.

Island County Sheriff's Lt. Mike Hawley told news hounds that he spotted Cetin near the suspect's home in Oak Harbor, around 30 miles due west of the mall. Hawley said he immediately recognized Cetin as the suspect, turned his patrol car around and arrested Cetin without incident.

"He said nothing," said Hawley, who added that Cetin was unarmed and carrying a computer in a satchel when he was apprehended. "He was kind of zombie-like."

Mount Vernon Police Lt. Chris Cammock said Cetin had immigrated to the U.S. from The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
and was a "legal permanent resident." It was not immediately clear when Cetin came to the U.S.

Hawley said Cetin had been arrested for simple assault last year, but provided no further details on the case. The Seattle Times reported that Cetin faced three domestic violence assault charges in both Burlington and Island County, with the victim identified as Cetin's stepfather. The newspaper reports Cetin also was arrested for drunken driving.

Court records show Cetin was told by a judge on Dec. 29 that he was not to possess a firearm, the newspaper reported.

However,
some men learn by reading. A few learn by observation. The rest have to pee on the electric fence for themselves...
the stepfather urged the judge not to impose a no-contact order, saying his stepson was "going through a hard time."

Cetin was arrested almost exactly 24 hours after his alleged victims were shot at the mall Macy's makeup counter. The four female victims died in the store. The male victim died early Saturday as police finished sweeping the 434,000-square-foot building.

Local media outlets had identified the victims as of early Sunday. One was 16-year-old Sarai Lara, a cancer survivor and high school sophomore. Her mother, Evangelina, told the Seattle Times that through a translator that she was shopping with Sarai and her younger sister, but they split up.

She said Sarai went to Macy's looking for pants. News of the shooting spread through the mall, and Lara tried to get to her daughter but was unable to do so.

KIRO-TV identified two more victims as Belinda Galde, 64, and her mother, 95-year-old Beatrice Dotson.

The Seattle Times identified the other two victims as Macy's makeup artist Shyla Martin, 52, and Chuck Eagan, a Boeing maintenance worker who was shot while helping his wife flee the store.

"There are people waking up this morning, and their world has changed forever. The city of Burlington has probably changed forever, but I don't think our way of life needs to change," Burlington Mayor Steve Sexton said earlier Saturday. "This was a senseless act. It was the world knocking on our doorstep, and it came into our little community."

Surveillance video captured the suspect entering the mall unarmed and then recorded him about 10 minutes later entering the Macy's with a "hunting type" rifle in his hand, Cammock said. The lieutenant said late Saturday that the rifle was apparently brought into the mall from a suspect vehicle. The weapon was recovered at the scene.

"Probably one of the most difficult moments for us last night was knowing that there were family members wondering about their loved ones in there," Cammock said.

Burlington, a community of 8,600 people, is about 65 miles north of Seattle, too far to be a commuter town, but its population swells to 55,000 during the day because of a popular outlet mall, retail stores and other businesses. Burlington is the only major retail center within 30 miles in a region where agriculture is king, said Linda Jones, president of the Burlington Chamber of Commerce.

Homeland Security Chair: ‘Good Chance’ Mall Shooting is Islamic Terror
So it's not just here at Rantburg that people are suspicious.
[Breitbart] Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX), chair of the House Committee on Homeland Security, told Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo on Sunday morning that "there’s a good chance" Friday’s mass shooting at mall in Washington "could be" Islamic terrorism.

McCaul appeared on Sunday Morning Futures to discuss the latest developments in a week of violence, from last weekend’s bombings in New York and New Jersey, which were allegedly carried out by Moslem immigrant Ahmad Khan Rahami, to the shooting at the Cascade Mall in Burlington, Washington.

On Saturday evening, police incarcerated
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
Arcan Cetin, 20, a Moslem immigrant and permanent resident from The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
, for the shootings, in which four women and one man were killed. Cetin was unarmed at his arrest, though he allegedly used three guns stolen from his father in the shooting.

Bartiromo and McCaul discussed both attacks, and discussed possible terror links in the latter case:

Bartiromo: There was a Washington mall shooter. He’s been caught. The suspect was 20 years old. Turkish, Moslem, Arcan Cetin. He was arrested for murder of the five people he killed in the mall in Washington State. What can you tell us about him? Is this related to Islamic terrorism?

McCaul: Well, I think there was a good chance it could be. I know right now law enforcement, FBI is playing it safe, saying there are no links to terrorism. That’s true at least from the evidence so far. I wouldn’t be surprised if we find out more details about this individual, as well as we did Mr. [Ahmad Khan] Rahami.

Thus far, police have suggested that a likely motive for Cetin could have been personal, as his ex-girlfriend worked at the Macy’s store in the mall where the shooting began.
Then there's this Weasel Zippers post courtesy of It Is me yesterday evening:

#1  Said it before: Terrorism includes, by definition, the intent to make a political statement or political change.
But we have a different issue here.
Some of the jihadis just like to do this stuff because Allah said they should. No political issues involved. We need a name for this besides "Terrorism".

#8  According to The Telegraph, a gentleman who let our villain stay with him and his wife because he was homeless ended up kicking him out a few months later because he was using and dealing drugs.

According to The Daily Mail, in high school our villain was very aggressive with the girls, grabbing bottoms and talking about/to them very rudely. One girl who ended up in the apartment next door to his kept a stun gun by the door after he sent her a photo of his crotch on snapchat.

In other words, a typical Middle Eastern Muslim male who believes he is entitled to take what he wants from the uncovered meat. He would have benefitted from being beaten up by the boys in his class each time he tried it until he learned to behave properly, but kids are taught to not respond to legitimate provocation nowadays.

#9  And according to Ay Pee (Rantburg only allows two links per comment, because of spam), after confessing to the murders to police, our villain today was charged in court with five counts of premeditated murder. His stepfather told the court the yoot has mental health issues that they've been working on. Perhaps that is so, but he definitely has culture clash issues he is uninterested in fixing.

He should feel right at home as the low man on the prison totem pole.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Christian Jordanian cartoonist gunned down outside courthouse
[Ynet] The cartoonist had been on trial for sharing a cartoon on Facebook that was deemed offensive to Islam; The caricature depicted a bearded man in heaven, smoking and in bed with two women, asking God to bring him wine and cashews; victim’s family: ’Many fanatics wrote on social media calling for his killing and lynching, and the government did nothing against them.

There were no immediate details on the identity or motive of the gunman. But a witness described the shooter, who was immediately tossed in the calaboose
I ain't sayin' nuttin' widdout me mout'piece!
, as wearing a long grey robe and long beard characteristic of conservative Moslems. The shooting was the latest in a string of deadly security lapses in Jordan.

Police and relatives said Nahed Hattar was preparing to enter the courthouse for a hearing when the lone gunman shot him at close range.

"He was standing at a short distance of about one meter in front of Nahed on the stairs of the Supreme Court," the witness told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named on condition of anonymity, fearing repercussions.

The witness said seven shots were fired, and that Hattar was shot in the head. The official Petra News Agency said Hattar was shot three times.
These two things are not mutually exclusive.
Hattar, 56, was detained in August after sharing a cartoon on Facebook. The caricature depicted a bearded man in heaven, smoking and in bed with two women, asking God to bring him wine and cashews.

Relatives said the cartoon was meant to illustrate what Hattar, a secular Christian, viewed as the twisted religious views of ISIS holy warriors. The post was quickly deleted following many angry responses.

Hattar was briefly detained for two weeks before he was released on bail.

Saad Hattar, a cousin, said relatives and friends of the writer apprehended the killer. "Nahed was accompanied with two brothers and a friend when he was shot. The brothers and the friend chased the killer and caught him and handed him over to the police," he said.

He said the family held Jordan's prime minister, Hani al-Mulki, responsible for Nahed's death. "The prime minister was the first one who incited against Nahed when he ordered his arrest and put him on trial for sharing the cartoon, and that ignited the public against him and led to his killing," Saad Hattar said.

In a statement, the family called on the government to hold accountable all those who had incited against Hattar.

"Many fanatics wrote on social media calling for his killing and lynching, and the government did nothing against them," they said.

Jordan is a close Western ally and has been largely spared from the violence engulfing neighboring Syria and Iraq.

Hundreds of Jordanians have been sentenced to prison, are awaiting trial or are being held for questioning about links to ISIS. Under toughened anti-terror laws, even liking or sharing the group's propaganda on social media can land a person in prison.
Al Ahram adds:
The gunman was locked away
Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit!
at the scene, state news agency Petra said. A security source said he was a 39-year-old Moslem preacher in a mosque in the capital. Two witnesses said the gunman was wearing a traditional Arab dishashada, worn by ultra conservative Sunni Salafis who adhere to a puritanical version of Islam and shun Western lifestyles.

Hattar was a Christian and a anti-Islamist activist who was a supporter of Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Leveler of Latakia...
. Hattar also supported restricting the rights and privileges of Jordanians of Paleostinian descent.
Working hard to round out his collection of enemies...
Hattar had apologized on social media and said he did not mean to insult God but had shared the cartoon to mock fundamentalist Sunni snuffies and what he said was their vision of God and heaven. He had accused his Islamist opponents of using the cartoon to settle scores with him.
And from An Nahar:
Hattar has long been a controversial figure in Jordan. Years ago, he claimed that the late King Hussein had placed in durance vile
Book 'im, Mahmoud!
and tortured him many times for his critical writings and vowed not to mourn the king, who died in 1999.

While born a Christian, he considered himself an atheist.
Doubly offensive to Muslim sensibilities.
This is getting silly, but another Times of Israel article names the killer:
The shooter is named as Riad Abdullah, an imam in his late 40s in northern Hashmi, a poor neighborhood in Amman.

The reports say Abdullah had recently returned from a trip abroad, but give no further details.

The Khabirni news site says Abdullah confessed to police that he was upset over the cartoon.

ISIS executes 75 in Mosul

[ARA News] DUHOK – Radical group of the Islamic State (ISIS) has executed dozens of prisoners in a major detention centre in the Iraqi northwestern city of Mosul on Sunday.

“At least 75 prisoners were executed by ISIS in the Mosul Central Prison,” local media activist Abdullah al-Malla told ARA News, citing an ISIS official.

Most of the victims were young Iraqi men who have been recently arrested by ISIS militants in Mosul and other parts of Nineveh province.

“The Islamic State’s leadership has charged them with treason,” the informed source reported.

The executed civilians included at least 25 media activists.

Speaking to ARA News, Iraqi security officer Zanoun Sabaawi said that the ISIS radical group has threatened all journalists and media activists of execution if they report on local developments in areas held by the group.

“Terrorists of Daesh (ISIS) want all their violations and atrocities against the Iraqi people to go unnoticed. That’s why they try to prevent reporters from covering local news in places like Mosul,” Sabaawi said.

Mosul is the main ISIS bastion in Iraq. The group has taken over the city and other Iraqi territories in June 2014. Since then thousands of people have been arrested, tortured and executed at the hands of ISIS militants. Also, hundreds of thousands have been displaced, mostly heading to the Iraqi Kurdistan.

145 Palestinians charged over online incitement this year
[IsraelTimes] The IDF says it has indicted more than 145 Paleostinians so far this year for incitement over social media.

Sunday’s announcement comes amid an Israeli campaign to stamp out the online incitement it says fueled months of Paleostinian attacks.

Earlier this month, ministers Gilad Erdan and Ayelet Shaked met with Facebook executives to discuss ways of limiting calls to violence on the platform.

Israel says Facebook should do more to monitor and control content, raising a host of issues over whether the company is responsible for material posted by its users.

Israeli politicians have proposed legislation that seeks to force social networks to remove content Israel considers to be incitement.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
The Mark of Soros: Charlotte, North Carolina
By Clarice Feldman

[AMERICANTHINKER] Tomorrow night we’ll see the much-awaited matchup one-on-one "debate" between Hillary Clinton
... sometimes described as For a good time at 3 a.m. call Hillary and at other times as Mrs. Bill, never as Another Walter Q. Gresham ...
and Donald Trump. Her staff is working with the debate commission to erase height and stamina advantages of her opponent. They asked that the debate be by seated opponents which was refused as was their effort to allow her to stand on a hidden stool. Her podium will be lowered though so when the camera sweeps from candidate to candidate viewers might not notice he is considerably taller than she.

Outside of the debate hall in Charlotte, North Carolina, another drama is taking place. Apparently "Black Lives Matters" needs a translation: To most of the rioters it means New Free Nikes Matter. As the first child in the family and the daughter of a small businessman who grew up in a working class community, I’m with John Schindler who tweeted this week, "Like Pier Pasolini, I am always on the side of the police, unless proven otherwise. Class matters. Order matters, Criminal filth does not."

The media airbrush the mayhem, if not actually inciting it by biased coverage. They did it in the Trayvon Martin case as American Thinker’s Jack Cashill detailed this past Friday.

In Charlotte they have regularly referred to the thugs as "protestors" and failed to fully publicize how awful their behavior has been. Here are some examples you won’t see on your news programs: Rioters attacked an elderly homeless man and beat a helpless man in parking garage and pulled off and stole his pants to further humiliate him.

Reports are in of stealing and looting on a significantly large scale, hijacking cars and trucks and terrifying their occupants, blocking streets and threatening to spread the mayhem outside the city limits. BLM would in a lawful society be subject to criminal racketeering and conspiracy charges, Instead, Attorney General Loretta Lynch defended the demonstrators as people exercising their constitutional rights to peaceful protest to create change. "We hear your voices and we feel your pain."

It’s unsurprising that the attorney general is not acting as she should. We just learned this week through late released documents of Hillary Clinton’s emails that the president who had asserted he first learned of her illegal use of a private unsecured email server int he newspapers had himself sent her mail on it using a pseudonym. It shows how unserious they all are about national security and the rule of law. We also learned this week that the FBI had granted immunity to five of Hillary’s closest aides. Or, as the Mark Twain of Twitter, Iowahawk, David Burge, said: "Breaking: FBI gives Clinton immunity in Clinton investigation". Add this to the unprecedented and grossly improper meeting between Lynch and Bill Clinton
...former Democratic president of the U.S. Bill was the second U.S. president to be impeached, the first to deny that oral sex was sex, the first to have difficulty with the definition of is...
before FBI head Comey announced his decision, we know the fix was in from the outset.

You have no Department of Justice. You have no FBI.

What of the local police? In Los Angeles cops have been told to run away from armed suspects. In Charlotte, as in the prior cases of race riots in recent years, the DOJ has sent in troops which in the past stirred up the crowds, interfered with standard police operations and did what they could to keep the embers lit, innocent men prosecuted on no basis and moving us closer and closer to federal control of local policing -- by the most lawless of lawmen,

Europe
Security alert as Malmo rocked by explosion after four injured in shooting
[EXPRESS.CO.UK] POLICE are on high alert after an kaboom rocked Malmo, Sweden just two hours after a gun attack left several people injured.

Witnesses reported hearing 20 gunshots during a football derby at around 7pm local time.

One eyewitness claimed the shots were fired by people in an Audi which drove off at high speed.

Police found shell casings at the scene in Censorgatan and say the suspects may have escaped by moped.

Officers said four people were shot in the attack and they are treating the incident as attempted murder.

Witnesses told Sweden’s Expressen newspaper the shots were fired in bursts of three rounds, suggesting that it is automatic weapon used in the shooting.
The Times of Israel adds:
[IsraelTimes] Local police say a recent surge in violence could be linked to a crackdown on organized crime in the city

Four people were maimed Sunday evening in a shooting in Malmo, the country’s third-largest city, according to Swedish police.

Gunmen on motor scooters opened fire on a car they had been chasing through a neighborhood in southern Malmo, the local Newspaper Expressen said.

Police confirmed four people were hospitalized with gunshot wounds and that the gunnies were believed to have expeditiously departed at a goodly pace on motor scooters.

Like Sweden’s other major cities, Malmo has seen a rise in gun violence in the past decade, often connected to feuds between rival gangs.

Police say a recent surge in car fires in the city could be linked to a crackdown on organized crime.

three men accused of suspected gangland attacks involving guns and explosives.

No injuries have been reported but the fires tie up police and rescue officials and frighten residents.

Police front man Lars Forstell said the fires were likely set in response to the arrests by "individuals who want to put us at work, so that we don’t focus on what they’re up to."

Malmo firefighters say there have been about 200 car fires this year, up from 150 in all of 2015.

#3  Breitbart has this:

A witness at the hospital posted a description of the chaos to Facebook last night:

Damn, I’m in the emergency room in Malmo and what a f***** [mess]. Screaming and yelling. Turns out now there are around 50 Arabs who are arguing and fighting. The whole place is swarming with police and they have blocked it off so you either get out or in. Blood everywhere. Feels terrible to be here now.
