Soura Instigator Hayat Dar Caught
[DefenceForum.in] In a major development, the Jammu and Kashmir police on Wednesday arrested Hayat Ahmad Bhat, the main instigator of law and order disturbances in downtown Srinagar post-August 5, when the Centre decided to revoke Article 370 from the state.

Bhat, also known as Hayat Dar, was arrested on Wednesday morning in a raid carried out by the police. He is wanted in several criminal cases.

"He was earlier booked under PSA. After his release, he started organising stone-pelting in the areas of Anchar Lake and Soura. His arrest is a major breakthrough," Dilbagh Singh, Director General of Police in Jammu and Kashmir, said.

Bhat was instrumental in mobilising the miscreants in and around Jenab Sahib, Soura. He was previously affiliated with the proscribed Muslim League outfit.
Remember that lakeside community I told you about ? The one barricaded by these people and where all the mullahs are a hidin' ? Well, we sort of laid a trap for this sucker which he could not resist and was caught. Now he's getting the close attention he deserves, in a darkened hall of pain, where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth.
He was earlier booked twice under J&K Public Safety Act for his involvement in more than 16 FIRs pertaining to law and order disturbances.

In 2019, three FIRs under ULA § Act were registered against him in the Soura police station for his involvement in subversive activities.

The development comes two days after mobile network service was restored in J&K after a gap of over two months.
And later they were shut off again. Some people just don't deserve basics.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, three terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Anantnag. Huge cache of arms and ammunition were recovered from the site.

US to require Chinese officials to report American contacts
h/t Instapundit
The Trump administration said Wednesday that it will soon require Chinese officials in the U.S. to notify the State Department ahead of any contacts they plan to have with American educators, researchers and local and state governments.

The release of the new rules was accompanied by notices to American educational and research institutions and local governments informing them of the reporting requirement. The change is effective Wednesday.

State Department officials say the change is being made to reciprocate for similar rules faced by U.S. diplomats in China. But, they said, the rules are less onerous than China's because the Chinese must approve such contacts. In contrast, the American government will not be requiring any Chinese official to receive permission from the State Department for any of the meetings.

The Grand Turk
Fox News video of Pence announcing deal at the US Embassy in Turkey.
[Fox News] The deal is for a 120-hour cease-fire, during which time the Kurdish-led forces could pull back from the roughly 20-mile-wide safe zone on the Turkish-Syrian border. All Turkish military operations under the recent offensive known as Operation Peace Spring will pause during that time, and the operation itself will come to an end entirely upon the completion of the Kurdish withdrawal, under the terms of the deal.

#8  The entire point is that ex-presidents are not supposed to speak out unless in exceptional circumstances when the Republic is in danger.

That the State Department goons are unable to distinguish between the interests of the USA and the interests of the American people is precisely the problem.

They think their problems are our problems. Because they have no idea who we are or what are interests are, nor do they care.

China-Japan-Koreas
The Future of Korea: Peter Zeihan
A taste:
[Zeihan] That’s just North Korea. The South Koreans, accurately reading their history and geography, view China and Japan as even more significant security threats. Japan outpopulates South Korea by well over 2:1, China by over 20:1. The navies of either country could wipe the Korean navy from the seas in days. To the south, east, and west, South Korea is surrounded by waters that either Japan or China could dominate given the right push. South Korea’s second city, Busan, is in a particularly vulnerable spot separated from mainland Japan via the Korea Strait, barely more than 100 miles across. Inchon, the western extremity of the Seoul metro region, isn’t much further away from China. And of course, Korean trade links to the wider world are impossible to maintain without both Japanese and Chinese quiescence.

For decades this has all been moot. South Korea, Japan and China were all members of the U.S.-led global Order. The U.S. Navy has ensured peaceful seas and ample trade. Oil, LNG and raw materials flow in, finished goods flow out, and Korea is one of the world’s largest transshipment and manufacturing nodes. So long as the Americans remain involved, Korea’s economic and security problems remain purely theoretical.

But the Americans – left, right and center – want to slim down America’s global position. The Korean deployment is America’s third-largest (after Japan and Germany), and the one that is by far in the trickiest and riskiest strategic position. And that is what keeps Moon’s administration up at night. The Americans are losing interest, and there is no version of a post-Order world where South Korea continues to survive at all – much less as a wealthy, trading nation – unless Seoul can obtain a powerful, dedicated ally.

So it was all Moon could to do cave in trade talks with the American administration on everything. And not just in trade negotiations. The Trump administration is insisting that South Korea compensate the United States for ongoing troop commitments to the tune of at least $5 billion annually. That’s a lot for a country Korea’s size, but honestly it’s a bargain considering what 26,000 American troops can do when they are suitably motivated.

Is caving to the U.S. on trade and defense reimbursement enough to keep the American troops in-country in this post-Order world? No clue. But Moon, correctly, concluded that without conceding to American terms there was no chance whatsoever.

That’s hardly the end of the story.

Europe
Denmark Introduces Permanent Border Controls with Sweden Due to Gang Violence
[Breitbart] The Danish government will introduce permanent border controls with Sweden due to the rising tide of gang violence plaguing the Scandinavian country.
Unmentioned in this article is the fact that most of the Swedish gangs are Muslim colonists of one provenance or another, fighting each other and the natives for prominence.
Justice minister Nick Hekkerup said on Thursday that the threat from Swedish organised gang violence means Denmark must enact stricter border controls with its northern neighbour, Swedish broadcaster SVT reports.

"Organised crime from Sweden is central here. We have seen a worrying development in Sweden with explosions and increased violence," Hekkerup said. "We have been monitoring this and decided to strengthen border protection against Sweden," he added.

The decision also comes after Swedish residents were implicated in two major criminal incidents earlier this year in Denmark, the most notable event being the bombing of the Tax Authority at Østerbro in Copenhagen in August that destroyed much of the facade of the office building.

A 22-year-old man from the multicultural Swedish city of Malmö, which lies close to the border with Denmark, was later arrested in connection with the bombing. Last month, another suspect, again, a Swedish national, was arrested at Copenhagen airport.

Britain, European Union reach new Brexit deal
[NY Post] European Union and British negotiators have agreed on an outline Brexit deal which still needs to be backed by EU member states and by the respective parliaments.

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker tweeted "We have one! It's a fair and balanced agreement for the EU and the UK and it is testament to our commitment to find solutions."
*Hic!*
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson tweeted that the two sides had struck a "great new deal" and urged U.K. lawmakers to ratify it in a special session on Saturday.

Juncker said he would recommend the 27 EU nations to endorse the deal during their summit later Thursday

Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Corrupt, Ballymore) Dead at 68
[Ay-Pee] Maryland Rep. Elijah E. Cummings died early Thursday at Johns Hopkins Hospital due to complications from longstanding health challenges, his congressional office said. He was 68.

A sharecropper's son, Cummings became the powerful chairman of a U.S. House committee that investigated President Donald Trump, and was a formidable orator who passionately advocated for the poor in his black-majority district, which encompasses a large portion of Baltimore as well as more well-to-do suburbs.
He got money but basically did sh*t for his district and Trump called him out for it
As chairman of the House Oversight and Reform Committee, Cummings led multiple investigations of the president's governmental dealings, including probes in 2019 relating to the president's family members serving in the White House.

Obama Endorses Justin Trudeau Despite His History Of Blackface
h/t Gates of Vienna
If you’re a white, progressive Prime Minister whose blackface scandal is uncovered weeks before a national election, you probably expect it’s going to cost you in a big way. But as we saw in the case of Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam, different rules apply to progressives. Former President Obama made that clear today by endorsing Trudeau for another term:
(a) Why not - Obama been wearing blackface his entire life?
(b) Imagine what'd happen if Trump endorsed somebody in foreign elections.

But Zero can't rouse hisself to endorse Slow Joe?

Omar Funnels 30 Percent of Campaign Cash to Alleged Boyfriend's Firm
h/t Gates of Vienna
Approximately 30 percent of the money doled out by the campaign of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D., Minn.) in the third quarter went to digital fundraising, communications, and advertising services provided by the E Street Group, a firm run by her alleged boyfriend.

Omar's campaign committee, which raised a total of $1,084,098.84 in the third quarter, spent $493,389.80 during this time. The E Street Group, a firm run by political consultant Tim Mynett, Omar's alleged lover, received more money from the campaign than any other vendor.

The Omar campaign paid the E Street Group $149,812.64 between July 1 and Sept. 30, its filings show. That accounts for around 30 percent of Omar's total campaign disbursements over the same period. Her campaign has over $1.5 million cash on hand.

Three militants killed in gun fight with Indian troops in Kashmir
[Ynet] Three turbans were killed in a shootout with Indian security forces in disputed Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
on Wednesday, the first such incident since mobile telephone links were restored in a bid to restore normality after a lengthy shutdown.

Soldiers raided a village in south Kashmir, long a hotbed of a separatist revolt, following intelligence reports that turbans had taken shelter there, two police sources told Rooters.

More Afghans Migrating To Europe From Iran Than Syrians: Report
[ToloNews] Afghans are migrating from Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan, the abbreviation IRGC is a cognate form of Stürmabteilung (or SA), the term Supreme Guide is a cognate form of either Shah or Führer or maybe both, and they hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
to Europe
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
which makes them the largest group of illegal migrants colonists entering the EU.

More Afghans than Syrians have migrated to the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
so far this year, according to the latest data from the EU border agency Frontex.

While the EU fears a new wave of asylum-seekers from Syria following The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
’s attack this week on the northeastern region of the country, EU officials warned that the increasing number of Afghans poses a more immediate problem.

Since the beginning of 2019, nearly 17,000 Afghans have crossed the Aegean Sea to reach EU shores, Frontex reported.

Around half of the Afghan asylum-seekers had been living in Iran before attempting the crossing through Turkey into the EU, a senior EU official told Rooters, adding that, in many cases, Afghan migrants colonists traveling to Europe were born in Iran.

They are leaving because "the US policy has significantly deteriorated the economic situation in Iran, "the official said.

Iran’s economy has been squeezed since US President Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
re-imposed sanctions last year to pressure Tehran to renegotiate a previous nuclear deal that the US had exited, the Rooters report said.

Facing hardship in neighboring Iran, Afghan workers are leaving to seek better ways to support families left behind in Afghanistan.
Second tier effect, but that does suggest Iran must have a good deal fewer foreign Shiites on hand who are desperate enough to accept pay as cannon fodder in Iran’s foreign adventures — at exactly the same moment Iran has less money to spend on hiring cannon fodder. How exciting to see economics in action!

Hizb-e-Islami Commander Accused Of Killing Three In Baghlan
[ToloNews] Gunmen associated with Commander Zalmay, a member of Gulbuddin Hekmatyar
... who used to be known in intelligence circles as The Most Evil Man in the World but who now seems merely run-of-the-mill evil...
’s Hizb-e-Islami group, have killed three members of a family--including one child-- in Baghlan province, security sources told TOLOnews.

Security sources said that the button men killed the family following a brawl over 70,000 Afs in Khalazayee village in Baghlan province.

But Hizb-e-Islami has rejected any link with Commander Zalmay.

"Hizb-e-Islami members are not involved in the issue, but it is a personal issue between two neighbors that occurred because of money-- there was a clash and there were casualties," said Fazel Ghani Haqmal, front man for the Hizb-e-Islami.

Residents said that the incident happened in an area where there is a Hizb-e-Islami presence.

"The government has the responsibility to tackle any problem that occurs in any corner of Baghlan and arrest those involved in such brutal acts" said Bismillah Attash, a member of Baghlan provincial council.

Police officials in Balkh have confirmed the presence of illegal gangs in the province, stating that security forces have arrested at least two suspects in connection with the incident.

"No one here is allowed to use their guns for bullying," said Mohammad Wais Samimi, Baghlan police chief.
"Guns are for gunsex!"
Residents say that even local government officials in the province have refrained from taking action against this commander.

Bad Gaslighting Epidemic Sweeps The Elite
[Townhall] There are three questions that our terrible, terrible ruling class raises whenever it opens its collective kale-hole to lecture us: 1) Does the elite think we are really, really stupid, or 2) Is the elite really, really stupid, or 3) Is the elite all of the above? The last week has been eventful, even by Age O’ Trump standards, and the one enduring takeaway is just how bad these people are at gaslighting us with inept lies that demand we disbelieve what’s happening right in front of us. But it should come as no surprise that our alleged betters are no good at gaslighting because they have proven themselves to be no good at anything.

Here’s a fun test: can you name something ‐ anything ‐ major in the last two decades that our best and brightest have not screwed up?

I’ll wait.

Gaslighting is their default move because gaslighting is all these losers have. It’s not like they can sit back and let you read their CV of achievements. Iraq, Obamacare, their annoying millennial kids...all disasters. The members of America’s current ruling class are King Midases of failure. Everything they touch turns to suck.

So, because they have no other way to deal with the damning evidence of their utter incompetence, our elite instead tries to convince us that we are crazy for noticing just how lame they are. That’s called "gaslighting," the straight-faced denial of what’s happening right in front of you that tries to leverage your politeness and deference to convince you that it’s not the elite that’s rotten. You’re just crazy for noticing, you crazed crazy person of craziness.

Take the Northern Syrian crisis ‐ please. I generally side with the non-commie Kurds over the Turks, but facts are facts and facts mean something. We keep hearing how we "betrayed our allies," but who promised the Kurds that we would fight Turkey on their behalf? It’s a big jump from "Let’s both fight ISIS" to "Take that, NATO ally." But our garbage media, and our garbage politicians, sort of hand wave away the fact that you can’t "betray" someone by not doing what you never promised to do, especially when no reasonable person could ever expect you to do it.

...It’s bad enough that they lie to us, directly and by omission, all the time. But what makes it worse is how their lies are such glaringly obvious fabrications and/or dissimulations that the deepest insult is that they think we might believe them.

458 civilians killed, wounded in Taliban attacks targeting election process: UNAMA

Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) announced Tuesday that the Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
attacks on election process across Afghanistan killed or maimed 458 civilians.

According to a special UNAMA report, the attacks by Taliban group killed 85 civilians and injured at least 373 others.

The report further added that the Taliban attacks during the day of elections on 28th of September killed 28 civilians and maimed 249 others.

The report also added that the children formed more than one-third of the civilians casualties.

"These attacks, along with public statements made by the Taliban, revealed a deliberate campaign intended to undermine the electoral process and deprive Afghan citizens of their right to participate in this important political process, freely and without fear," said Tadamichi Yamamoto, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Afghanistan. "Many Afghan people, however, defied the threats and cast their votes ‐ brave acts that I commend."

Yamamoto further added "Deliberate acts of violence against voters, election workers, campaigners, election rally sites and polling centres are completely unacceptable."

He also added that "Widespread or systematic attacks against civilian populations may constitute crimes against humanity; the United Nations unequivocally condemns them."

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Memos from Steele dossier made their way ‘directly' to Soetoro
[World Tribune] A new book by the founders of Fusion GPS reveals that then-President Barack Obama received the memos that made up the unverified anti-Trump dossier.

The Hoover Institution’s Paul Sperry tweeted: "BREAKING: In new book "Crime in Progress," set for release next month, #Spygate archvillain Glenn Simpson reveals that he was first hired to investigate Trump in "the fall of 2015" and that memos from his now-discredited Steele dossier made their way directly "to President Obama".

Simpson and Peter Fritsch are the founders of Fusion GPS, the political opposition research firm that oversaw the compilation of the dossier by ex-British spy Christopher Steele. The dossier contained numerous allegations that the Trump campaign was aided by Russian government operatives. None of the allegations have been proven.

Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee during the 2016 presidential election hid their payments to Fusion GPS and Steele through their law firm Perkins Coie.

Perkins Coie paid Fusion GPS who then paid Steele to compile the dossier.

Though the FBI knew the dossier was unverified, the bureau nonetheless used it has key evidence in its counterintelligence investigation into the campaign and in obtaining FISA warrants to spy on Trump campaign associates.

Publishing giant Random House announced that the book, titled Crime in Progress: Inside the Steele Dossier and the Fusion GPS Investigation of Donald Trump, will be released on Nov. 26.

Science & Technology
An ‘unprecedented' analysis underlines profound failure to study African genomes
[STAT] It has become the geneticist’s version of, "What, me not inclusive? But I have a black friend!" In the case of modern studies of DNA, researchers called to task for studying mainly European populations often defend themselves by pointing out that they included some Yoruba (or Khoisan or Bantu or other African) DNA in their analysis, too.

Research presented at the annual meeting of the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) on Tuesday and Wednesday shows how "woefully inadequate" such tokenism is, said Dr. Neil Hanchard of Baylor College of Medicine, who led one of the studies.

He and his colleagues sequenced the genomes of 426 people from 13 African countries and 50 ethnolinguistic groups from across the continent, producing "an unprecedented, in-depth cataloging of the genetic diversity of people across the African continent," said Dr. Kiran Musunuru, a medical geneticist at the University of Pennsylvania and chair of the ASHG program committee who was not involved in the study.

The research was done as part of Human Heredity and Health in Africa (H3Africa), a consortium that was launched in 2013 to remedy the underrepresentation of that continent in genetics research.

"There is so much genetic diversity across the African continent, if you sample from just one or two ethnolinguistic groups you know something about one or two groups," Hanchard said. Because most studies linking a DNA variant to a disease or other trait have been done on Europeans, and the human "reference genome" ‐ hailed as the blueprint of humankind ‐ is missing millions of DNA sequences that are found only in Africans, people of African ancestry are at risk of not benefitting from gene-based personalized medicine.

#13  Identity politics is now spreading its poison across the sciences.

It could take a decade or two, but Herb may be proved right on this one.

There are two separate issues here.
(a) The decline of Western science
(b) Chinese science.

(a) The decline is, IMO, exaggerated. People are beginning to notice that straight A/super collegial (and, of course, victim class) students make lousy scientists - because "collegiality" = ass kissing and getting straight A = never argue with the teacher. However, every significant scientific advance starts with somebody who's arrogant enough to think "suppose everybody else, but me, is wrong (on this particular issue)?"*.
The conformists, once they become independent researchers, publish trivialities, or (most of them are ego-putzes who come to believe - because of their fucking grades, that they're geniuses) start faking results, and get caught.

(b) Chinese, because of Confucianism, are very strongly consensus & group think. Notice how in their folklore only the, perpetually drunk, Taoist monks show any signs of non-consensus thinking?

* 99% of the time they're wrong. But the 1% is where all the human advances come from.

#14  There is a third point Lex. Part of the decline, IMO, is that most original thinkers in the West were siphoned into computer programming. Now it comes to the end because general, wide-application programming packages replace specific programs. Remember when people were writing specific book-keeping programs? Nowadays you can do it all with Excel. So, you don't need so many programmers. But, creative people gotta create.

And, by the way, Chinese write lots of programs?

Syrian refugees resort to smugglers to enter Kurdistan Region of Iraq
See the Syrian side of the story here.
[Rudaw] More than 1,000 refugees have fled northern Syria and crossed into the Kurdistan Region of northern Iraq since The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
began its offensive against Kurdish forces, sparking mass displacement and a humanitarian crisis. But the way out of northern Syria is not easy. Most if not all of the refugees paid smugglers to get them across the border.

Ali Mustafa left his village near Kobane nine days ago when Turkey first started its incursion. "We saw what happened in Afrin, so we don’t trust them," he said, referring to the killing, kidnapping, looting, and abuse committed by Ottoman Turkish-backed Syrian militias in the Kurdish enclave of Afrin, which Turkey invaded in early 2018.

Two Belgian terrorists escape Syrian jail: Officials
[AlAhram] Two Belgian holy warriors have beat feet from detention in northeastern Syria since The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
launched an offensive against Kurdish forces in the region, the head of the national anti-terrorist agency said Wednesday.

According to two MPs, Paul Van Tigchelt, head of Belgium's OCAM counter-terror analysis body, told a parliamentary commission: "It happened in recent days, certainly after the Ottoman Turkish offensive began."

The two were among 55 Belgian terrorists-- men and women -- in Kurdish-controlled prisons or camps in Syria, said one of the MPs, Georges Dallemagne. Another three Belgians are being held in Iraq.

The two escapees were male "foreign terrorist fighters", one of whom was convicted in absentia in Belgium for "terrorism" according to an OCAM document of which AFP obtained a copy.

The document said there were "up to 56 minors aged under 12" with connections to Belgium in camps in northeast Syria.

Six of them, who were with their mothers, fled a camp in the town of Ain Issa in recent days following a bombardment, according to information given to MPs.

"The situation has become completely uncontrollable" in the Syrian camps under Kurdish control, said one MP, Samuel Cogolati.

"We are losing our contacts there, one by one," he added, reiterating a call for Belgium to repatriate the children, and the adults for trial.

Woman charged in London with planning to bomb St Paul's cathedral
[Jpost] LONDON - A woman appeared in court on Wednesday charged with terrorism offenses including scoping out St Paul's cathedral as a possible bomb target.

Safiyya Amira Shaikh, 36, was remanded in custody at Westminster Magistrates' Court to appear again at the Old Bailey court on Nov. 1, police said.

Shaikh, of Hayes, west London, was charged with preparing terrorist acts between August and October this year including making contact with someone she believed could help her make explosives.

The preparations also included traveling to London and staying at a hotel to conduct reconnaissance, police added in a statement.

The statement of charges said she "noted the hotel’s suitability as a target for a bomb (and) attended St Paul’s to scope it, for security and for the best place to plant a second bomb."

She is also charged with preparing the words of a pledge of allegiance to Islamic State.

'Food fight' over FISA report could lead to extensive redactions
[Washington Examiner] Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz's report on alleged Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act abuses may be covered in redactions when it is released.

Former Republican Utah Rep. Jason Chaffetz, now a Fox News contributor, said this week that this report, eagerly anticipated by Republican allies of President Trump, could be more heavily concealed than previous reports from the DOJ watchdog.

"Evidently, there’s an intra-agency debate and really a food fight if you will about the classification issues," Chaffetz said on Sean Hannity's show on Monday. "Remember in the last report put out by Horowitz, there were only seven words or so that were redacted. The Democrats threw a fit that they couldn’t see the whole thing. This could have 10-20% of the report redacted."

Chaffetz also said he has not seen any evidence to suggest FBI Director Christopher Wray has been "cooperative" and speculated that former CIA Director John Brennan and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper may be involved in "behind-the-scenes fighting" as they are also "fighting" to defend themselves on TV.

Horowitz announced the completion of his investigation a little more than one month ago, an effort in which his team pored over more than 1 million records and conducted 100-plus interviews. The inspector general gave a draft to the Justice Department and the FBI for a classification review, after which the final draft will be delivered to Congress.

There has been scattered reporting about when the report will be released. Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo announced over the weekend that her sources were telling her it would be released on Oct. 18, as well as calling it "thick as a telephone book" and covering "more than just FISA abuse." On Monday, Bartiromo updated her report, tweeting, "IG report NOT out this Friday 10/18. Classifications being made. Likely end of month."

An official who spoke with Fox News disputed there being a tumultuous debate over redactions. "The FBI and the DOJ are working together smoothly on the declassification process," the official said.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, President Trump noted that the release of the FISA report is "coming out soon" and will shed light on a "corrupt election." Trump said he believes the string of misconduct "goes right up" to his predecessor, former President Barack Obama.

Republicans argue top Justice Department and FBI officials misled the FISA court by using an unverified dossier compiled by British ex-spy Christopher Steele to obtain warrants to electronically monitor onetime Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.

Democrats have dismissed the allegations of wrongdoing during the Trump-Russia investigation and are concerned that U.S. Attorney John Durham's review of the early stages of the Russia investigation, being overseen by Attorney General William Barr, may be an effort to discredit the work of special counsel Robert Mueller.

Body Parts Buyers Were 'Scalping the Babies,' Planned Parenthood Trial Reveals
[PJ] In chilling testimony last week, an abortion whistleblower involved in revealing how Planned Parenthood affiliates had sold aborted baby body parts revealed one of the horrifying research purposes of body parts buyers: they were "scalping the babies."

In 2015, David Daleiden shocked America's conscience by releasing a slew of videos showing abortionists at Planned Parenthood affiliates admitting that they sold the body parts of aborted babies, often to medical research establishments. Planned Parenthood and its allies have dragged Daleiden and his organization, the Center for Medical Progress (CMP), through the courts. California Attorney General Xavier Becerra (following the lead of Kamala Harris) has brought 15 felony counts against Daleiden for his undercover journalism, and Planned Parenthood launched a $7 million, 14-count racketeering lawsuit against Daleiden and his allies.

Last year, Daleiden told reporters to expect "a solid dozen more videos" revealing some of the "most damning" claims against Planned Parenthood and other abortion clinics ‐ if a judge lifted a gag order. It seems the selling of baby scalps might be among those previously unreported bombshells.

Trump Blamed For Causing Violence In Typically Peaceful Middle East
[Babylon Bee] U.S.‐After Trump moved some troops from Northern Syria, he was immediately blamed for causing violence in the typically peaceful Middle East.

Syria, which was known around the world as an idyllic paradise until January 20, 2017 at 12:00 PM EST, is now in shambles thanks to some minor troop reassignments. Trump tried to restablize the Middle East by announcing a deployment of 2,000 U.S. troops to defend the famed bastion of democracy and freedom Saudi Arabia, but it was too late. The damage had been done.

"It's sad that the usually serene resort destination of Syria has been transformed into a war-torn hellscape under Trump," said Hillary Clinton. "Under my watch, the Middle East was basically a big golf resort."

Barack Obama and George W. Bush joined in their condemnation of what Trump has done to the Middle East. "It's like they say in Texas," said Bush. "Attack Iraq once, shame on me. Attack it twice, well, then you won't get attacked again."

"Trump has betrayed our allies, the Kurds," said one man in Arizona who had just googled "who are the Kurds" a few minutes before. "Look at all this violence he's causing in the usually utopian paradise of Syria."

The nation has called on Trump to allow U.S. soldiers to stick around for another few centuries in order to bring our various conflicts to a satisfactory conclusion.

At publishing time, the Pentagon had issued a reminder to the nation that "we've always been at war with Turkey."

Senators Blast Intel Community IG For Continuing To Stonewall Congress On Whistleblower Rule Changes
[The Federalist] Three top senators blasted the intelligence community inspector general (ICIG) Michael Atkinson for continuing to stonewall congressional efforts to determine why whistleblower rules and forms requiring firsthand information were suddenly changed last month. As The Federalist first reported and the ICIG confirmed in a subsequent press release, whistleblower forms and guidance requiring all complaints to contain firsthand information were secretly changed and then backdated after the ICIG received an anti-Trump complaint that consisted entirely of second-hand information.

Sens. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, Ron Johnson, R-Wisc., and Mike Lee, R-Utah, wrote Atkinson on Wednesday demanding answers about his office’s actions and behavior regarding the whistleblower rules changes. The lawmakers expressed dismay at his refusal to answer their previous queries on the matter.

"[W]e are concerned that you are ’unable to explain how or why the language [about how the ICIG must be in possession of reliable, firsthand information] was included, or how it came into use’ in the informational sheet," the three lawmakers wrote. "The information we seek and the questions we are asking should be easily obtained or answered especially in light of your testimony before the intelligence committees."

"We expect that this ‐ our third request ‐ will be the final time that we have to request that you provide full and complete answers to the Committees," they tersely noted.

Grassley, Johnson, and Lee noted that Atkinson had refused to answer 13 separate questions regarding the secret changes his office made to whistleblower rules after it received a complaint that was built entirely on second-hand information and gossip and riddled with errors.

They wrote that Atkinson’s responses to their previous letters "mostly repeated information from your press release and failed to answer the vast majority of the questions" they had asked. In addition to directing Atkinson to fully respond to those 13 questions instead of stonewalling, the senators posed an additional question about whether the anti-Trump complainant may have lied on the form he submitted to the ICIG.

Congress Approval, Support for Impeaching Trump Both Up
I'm really starting to dislike reading Drudge...
[Gallup, via Drudge] - WASHINGTON, D.C. -- As Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives work through an impeachment inquiry regarding alleged abuses of office by President Donald Trump, approval of Congress is now at 25%. That is up from 18% in September, prior to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announcing the impeachment inquiry following news of possible wrongdoing by the president in communications with Ukraine.
...
Public opinion on whether Trump should be impeached remains mixed, but Americans now lean slightly more in favor of impeachment and removal from office compared with where they stood in June.

Currently, 52% say Trump should be impeached and removed from office, while 46% say he should not be. This is roughly the opposite of what Gallup found in June when asked in the context of special counselor Robert Mueller's investigation.
$10 says within a few days, the sampling for this poll (and damn well near half of them overall) will be shown to have the proverbial deli thumb on the scale, naturally favoring Democrats.

Chunian killings: Primary suspect remanded in police custody for 14 more days
[DAWN] A Lahore antiterrorism court on Wednesday extended the physical remand of alleged serial killer Suhail Shehzad, accused of raping and murdering four minor boys in Kasur's Chunian tehsil.

Shehzad had been remanded into police custody on October 2 and today a 14-day extension in his remand was given by the court.

Judge Abdul Qayyum Khan, who was presiding over the hearing, asked the suspect "if he had been beat up in jug".

"No one beat me up," the suspect replied, adding, "I request the same treatment this time as well."

When asked by the judge whether Shehzad's medical exam had been carried out, the investigation officer replied in the affirmative, saying that it had been taken the very day it was ordered.

During the last hearing, when Shehzad had been produced before the antiterrorism court for the first time, the investigation officer had explained that the suspect had been brought to court in pursuance of an FIR registered against the sexual assault and murder of one of the four boys.

The cases registered for the other three boys were being probed by a joint investigation team, he had explained.

" in response to the JUI-F chief's declaration to march on Islamabad on October 31.

The minister said that a small political committee has been formed "to get in touch with Maulana Fazlur Rehman", which will be headed by Defence Minister Pervez Khattak.

"We are a political party and are fully capable and willing to deliver a political solution to political matters," said Qureshi, during a presser in Islamabad.

The foreign minister said that if anything the JUI-F chief says during the resultant talks "has political weight, we are ready to listen to it and if a reasonable solution emerges, we will accord that priority".

"It is not that we have any fear, I must lay stress on this.

"If someone thinks that with a dharna, governments can be sent packing then we have a 126-day experience in this [...] we are not novices in the matter," said Qureshi, with a slight smile.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
REPORT: Schiff Pressured Volker To Say Damaging Things About Trump
[PJMedia] House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff attempted to pressure former United States Special Representative to Ukraine Kurt Volker into testifying that Ukrainian officials felt pressured to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden's son Hunter because of Trump's "threat" to withold U.S. military aid to Ukraine, the Washington Examiner reported. According to Volker, Ukrainian officials never actually felt pressured because they never even knew that the aid was being withheld. "When Volker repeatedly declined to agree to Schiff's characterization of events, Schiff said, 'Ambassador, you're making this much more complicated than it has to be.'"
How... mafioso
Democrats have been hinging their impeachment push on the claim that there was a quid pro quo‐specifically, that Trump threatened to withhold military aid unless they investigated Joe Biden and his son, which, as the transcript proved, didn't happen. According to this report, Adam Schiff desperately wants anyone he interviews to back up what he wants to believe.
Can we flush this little turd now? Please?

But that’s the point. This isn’t even pre-trial posturing on the courthouse steps, this is posturing before it even goes before the grand jury. They’re functionally just interviewing witnesses in the office before deciding who they’ll use to present their case.

...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
and are calling on Riyadh to free them.

The families are gathered outside the International Committee of the Red Thingy office in Gaza City, holding banners against the detention and calling for an end to their "torture" in Saudi prisons.

Most of the nearly 50 detainees are believed to be affiliated with Hamas, the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,, the Islamic terrorist group that controls Gaza.

Hamas says Saudi authorities intensified a crackdown on the Islamist group’s supporters in the kingdom this year. It apparently came as Hamas announced it has fully restored ties with Iran, Riyadh’s archrival in the region.

Hamas says Saudi Arabia arrested the Paleostinians for collecting donations for Paleostinian charities, not on security charges.

US carries out airstrike in Syria to destroy ammunition as troops depart
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The United States carried out a pre-planned air strike in northern Syria on Wednesday to destroy an ammunition cache and military equipment that were left behind as US personnel prepare for a withdrawal from northeast Syria, US officials said.

Colonel Myles Caggins, an Iraq-based front man for the US-led coalition battling ISIS
...embracing their inner Islamic Brute...
, said the strike involved two F-15e fighter jets from the US-led coalition, which fired on the Lafarge Cement Factory after all coalition forces had left the facility.

Earlier on Wednesday, the US-led coalition said that its forces had left the Syrian cities of Tabqah and Raqqa as well as a Lafarge cement factory as part of the withdrawal from northeast Syria.

"Coalition forces continue a deliberate withdrawal from northeast Syria. On Oct. 16, we vacated the Lafarge Cement Factory, Raqqa, and Tabqah," coalition front man Colonel Myles B. Caggins said on Twitter.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Syrian army has taken control of military bases in northeast Syria that were abandoned by US forces, according to a report by Russian state TV.

Trump vetoes measure to end his emergency declaration on border wall
[DAWN] United States President Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
has vetoed a joint resolution of Congress that sought to terminate his declaration of a national emergency on the southern border with Mexico, the White House said on Tuesday.

Trump declared the emergency to circumvent Congress and take money already designated for other programmes to pay for the US-Mexico border wall he promised to build during his 2016 campaign.

Last month, the Democratic-led House passed the joint resolution by 236-174, as 11 Republicans and one independent joined Democrats to vote in favour.

The Republican-led Senate had approved the measure days earlier, by 54-41. Eleven of the Senate's 53 Republicans joined Democrats favouring the resolution.

"The situation on our southern border remains a national emergency, and our armed forces are still needed to help confront it," Trump said in his veto message.

Hunter Biden Could Still Hold Millions in China-Backed Investment Fund: Report
[EpochTimes] Although the former vice president’s son Hunter Biden announced he is stepping down from the board of a Chinese-backed private equity company, he could still have millions of dollars of value in the company, according to expert analysis.

Biden announced Oct. 13 he plans to step down from the board of directors of BHR (Shanghai) Equity Investment Fund Management Co. on or before Oct. 31.

Biden, who holds an unpaid position at the company, "committed to invest" $420,000 into the company in October 2017 to acquire a 10 percent equity position which hasn’t yielded any dividends, said his attorney, George Mesires.

However, an analysis by FactCheck.org estimates the value of Biden’s stake in the company is worth millions.

Steven Kaplan of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business told the outlet it is hard to believe Biden’s share in the investment company holds a value of less than half a million dollars.

"It is difficult to imagine, if not incomprehensible, that a 10 percent stake in those economics is worth only $420,000," said Kaplan.

"The distinction they appear to be making is they capitalized the management company with $4.2 million even if the fund manages $2 billion. The value of that management company is likely far in excess of $4.2 million if they are managing $2 billion."

Kaplan told FactCheck.org that over the investment lifetime, Biden’s stake in BHR Equity Investment Fund Management Co. could be worth up to "hundreds of millions of dollars."

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) alleged that Germany's largest lender hired poorly qualified or unqualified relatives of officials in Asia and Russia at their request, in violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

Between at least 2006 and 2014, it said Deutsche employed relatives of executives working at state-owned enterprises in China and Russia with the "primary goal" of generating business for the company such as initial public offerings...

Abu bomb plot foiled in Basilan
[PhilStar] Philippine security forces have foiled an attempt by Abu Sayyaf militants to bomb several areas in Basilan.

Western Mindanao Command spokesman Arvin Encinas said six improvised explosive devices were recovered from around 20 rebels that troops encountered in Barangay Calang Canas, Maluso at around 2 a.m. yesterday. There were no reported casualties on the side of the government.

“The troops clashed with the bandits while conducting security patrol amid reports that the group of Furuji Indama would launch bomb attacks,” Encinas said. Indama is an associate of Islamic State for Southeast Asia emir Isnilon Hapilon, who was killed along with the Maute brothers at the height of the fighting in Marawi in 2017.

Military informants said the militants intended to detonate the IEDs in populated areas.

France, Iraq to mull framework for extremist trials
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said on Wednesday that he would discuss a judicial framework for putting gunnies on trial during a visit to Iraq, as calls grow for an international court to judge bad boys.

"We need to work things out with the Iraqi authorities so that we can find a way to have a judicial mechanism that is able to judge all these fighters, including obviously the French fighters," he told BFM-TV.

Prime Minister Edouard Philippe later said that Le Drian would head to Iraq "as soon as tonight" to work on potential means for trying detained murderous Moslems.

"A certain number of those held in Syria by the Kurds committed crimes in Iraq, which means that they can be held accountable there," he said.

“Did you use our drones, General Round Eyes?”
“Oh no no no - perish the thought! We used local knock-offs of your excellent style. Here is an envelope full of the copyright fees — in cash, of course.”

...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
The Chinese chargé d'affaires said that his country as a permanent member at the Security Council is committed to the UN resolutions as well as to having firm relations with Libya, the Presidential Council's Foreign Ministry said.

This comes after the Foreign Ministry sent a letter to the Chinese chargé d'affaires in Libya calling for the investigation into the drones that were sold to the UAE and used by Haftar to strike civilians in Tripoli.

"This is based on the Foreign Ministry's efforts to hold the countries that violate Security Council resolutions to account." The Foreign Ministry explained.

Haftar's forces are totally reliant on airpower, especially the Chinese Wing Loong drones, which are provided by the UAE to its ally Haftar with experts operating the drones on the ground in Libya's al-Jufra airbase, according to sources from Volcano of Rage operation.

Yemeni government, Southern Transition Council expected to sign deal
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Yemen

, according to documents seen by Al Arabiya’s sister channel Al Hadath.

According to sources, the two sides will sign the final draft of the deal, named the "Jeddah Agreement," on Thursday brokered by Saudi Arabian efforts.

The expected agreement, according to a draft document obtained by Al Hadath, includes restructuring solutions related to security, military and political aspects of a government under the support and direct supervision of the Arab Coalition.

On the political side, the draft deal refers to the restructuring of the government equally between the north and the south according to the outcomes of the national dialogue and the involvement of all groups under the southern movement.

The STC had taken over the Yemeni government’s military camps in Aden in August. After a warning from Arab Coalition, the council agreed to a ceasefire.

The deal will also see power remaining with currently President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi, who will nominate a prime minister and the ministers under several portfolios.

According to a report from pan-Arab newspaper Asharq al-Awsat, the signing of the agreement will see the attendance of UN Special Envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Good-by to the Mid-East!
[Peter Zeihan] This day was always going to happen.

On October 7, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a partial withdrawal of U.S. forces from Syria. Soon after, Turkish forces began moving south across the border to strike Kurdish forces which had been until extremely recently under American protection. Two days later the partial American withdrawal was upgraded to a full evacuation of all forces.

Wailing and gnashing of teeth across the American political spectrum quickly erupted, with many condemning the tactical and political aspects of the president’s decision. I’m of mixed minds:

On the one hand, the Kurds – whether in Syria or Iraq – have been America’s only reliable regional allies since America’s first major confrontation with Iraq back in the early 1990s. When we have asked, they have answered. Every single time. In many cases U.S. forces didn’t even do the heavy lifting, but instead relegated themselves to providing intelligence and materiel support. Without the Kurds’ assistance the overthrow of Saddam Hussein would have been far nastier affair, post-Saddam Iraq would have been far less stable, the defanging of ISIS and the destruction of the ISIS caliphate would not have happened. In Syria in specific, the Kurds habitually provided at least five times the forces the Americans did.

On the other hand, the United States was always going to leave Syria. If the Americans were unwilling to commit 100,000 troops to the overthrow of Syria’s Assad government and its subsequent forcible reconstruction, then there was little reason to become involved in a decades-long, grinding multi-sided civil war.

The primary reason American forces remain in Syria at this point is to limit Iranian penetration. That battle was lost six years ago when then-President Obama allowed the Syrian government to cross Obama’s own red line on the use of chemical weapons against Syrian civilians. Obama made it crystal clear that any U.S. military action would be small scale, focused on Special Operations Forces, and largely dedicated to backing up the Syrian Kurds. Whether under Obama or Trump, an American withdrawal has always been inevitable. It’s just taken seven years of Syrian-Russian-Iranian victories on the battlefield and the large-scale dismemberment of the ISIS Caliphate to make it imminent.

Aside from the Iranian vector, American national and strategic interests in Syria are utterly nonexistent. Syria – even backed up by Iran – is a military pigmy that Israel could easily shatter. If Jerusalem really wanted to, it could roll into Damascus in a long weekend. (Sticking around, of course, would be a barrel of shiv-wielding monkeys.) American interests in Lebanon are less than American interests in Syria. Jordan has been a de facto Israeli client state for years. And that is quite literally all she wrote.

The far more important fact – comfortable or uncomfortable depending upon your view – is that the evolving American view of Syria is really little more than a microcosm of an evolving American view of the Middle East writ large
Head to the article and enjoy a good read.

Schiff-Pelosi Caught in Ukrainian Arms Scandal
Posted as a comment late last evening from our very own Victor Emmanuel Flusoling.
[Gateway Pundit] Today Rudy Giuliani confirmed our reporting by way of FOX News ==>>

Giuliani’s tweet is in part based on a report by FOX News that confirmed our reporting ‐

(Fox News) House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, who has played a leading role in investigating the Trump-Ukraine scandal, is facing questions about his own connection to a Soviet-born businessman who has raised money for his campaign and whose company has received lucrative defense contracts from Ukraine’s government.

That man is Igor Pasternak, the founder and CEO of Worldwide Aeros Corp., which makes blimps for military and commercial customers. His business has also been involved in weapons manufacturing, working with the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense to produce a modified version of the M4 and M16 rifles, according to reports.

In 2013, Pasternak hosted a fundraiser in Washington for Schiff, who later came to embrace a strong stance in support of the United States sending military aid to Ukraine during its conflict with Russia.

"Before this time, Schiff rarely, if ever, mentioned Ukraine," Fox News’ Laura Ingraham said on her show Thursday night, after detailing Schiff’s connection to Pasternak. "But after the fundraiser, he used multiple television appearances to basically demand that we send money and arms to them."

This information that Rudy linked to was at the rightwingtribune.com.

EU says sharp rise in number of migrants crossing from Turkey
[IsraelTimes] The Europe
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
an Union border agency Frontex says the number of people trying to enter Europe from The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund...
without authorization rose sharply last month.

Frontex released new statistics Wednesday showing that more than 11,500 attempts to enter the EU via the eastern Mediterranean Sea were recorded in September, up 16% from the month of August.

It says most attempts were made by Afghans, and that two-thirds of all people trying to enter the EU in September came in via the east.

Greece’s eastern islands are struggling to cope with a surge in arrivals of migrants colonists and asylum-seekers that has undermined efforts to ease severe overcrowding at refugee camps.

Frontex says it detected almost 50,600 border crossing attempts in the eastern Mediterranean in the first nine months of this year, up 22% from last year.

Syria troops fighting Turkish forces alongside Kurds, says monitor
[IsraelTimes] Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reports government troops in town of Ain Issa; Russian envoy says Ankara and Damascus officials in contact to avoid ’unacceptable’ festivities.

The Syrian army deployed alongside Kurdish forces on the front line in northern Syria Wednesday but their newfound cooperation saw no let-up in the week-old Ottoman Turkish invasion, a monitor said.

In a rare scene in Syria’s eight-year-old civil war, government troops and Kurdish fighters were "fighting together" against The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
’s Syrian proxies northeast of the town of Ain Issa, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The Britannia-based monitor reported "violent festivities" near the M4 highway ‐ a key east-west artery that links the Kurdish heartland in the northeast with Syria’s second city Aleppo and the Mediterranean coast beyond.

Under the deal announced on Sunday after US President Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
ordered the withdrawal of US troops, government troops have returned to key Kurdish-held areas for the first time in years.

Syrian soldiers have been sent to Manbij, Tal Tamr, Ain Issa and Tabqa in their most significant deployment since the army started withdrawing from Kurdish-majority areas in 2012.

Russia’s special envoy on Syria, Alexander Lavrentyev, said Ottoman Turkish and Syrian officials were in contact to avoid festivities which "would simply be unacceptable."

But two Syrian soldiers were killed near Ain Issa on Tuesday in shelling by Turkey’s Syrian proxies ‐ mostly former rebels paid and equipped by Ankara, the Observatory said.

On Monday, artillery fire by the Syrian former rebels killed another soldier in the flash-point city of Manbij, it added.

In the border town of Ras al-Ain, where Kurdish fighters have put up stiff resistance against Ankara’s incursion, battles raged on Wednesday following a night of heavy Ottoman Turkish Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s and artillery fire, the monitor said.

Since its launch on October 9, the Ottoman Turkish offensive has killed dozens of civilians, mostly on the Kurdish side, and prompted at least 160,000 to flee their homes.

Scores of casualties from Haftar's forces in violent clashes in southern Tripoli
[Libya Observer] Scores of deaths and injuries from Khalifa Haftar
...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy, so it's kind of hard to describe him as a Qadaffy holdover. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all...

...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
between Haftar's forces and Libyan Army forces under the command of the Presidential Council's government.

The Libyan Army forces launched an offensive Wednesday morning on Ain Zara, Khalit al-Furjan and Yarmouk Camp frontlines, seizing new positions especially on Ain Zara frontline, where Special Deterrence Force fighters controlled the strategic Adem Buildings area, which was used by Haftar's forces snipers.

The Special Deterrence Force said it had destroyed military vehicles for Haftar's forces and seized others in today's festivities, which led to the killing of five Libyan Army fighters.

The Libyan Air Force carried out four Arclight airstrike

s on fighting frontlines and other strikes in the vicinity of Tripoli Airport on Wednesday.

Reinforcement of fighters and military might is still reaching the frontlines in southern Tripoli, which hints at continuation of heavy festivities that started on Monday and is still ongoing.

US House backs resolution condemning Trump’s withdrawal from Syria
Congratulations, guys. Now you only need to persuade enough Republicans to make a veto-proof majority in the Senate, and then get them to overcome President Trump’s veto. What are the odds of success again?
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The US House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly on Wednesday to condemn President Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
’s decision to withdraw US forces from northeastern Syria, clearing the way for The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
’s offensive against the Kurds.

The vote was 354 to 60 for the resolution, as dozens of Trump’s fellow Republicans joined the majority Democrats in favor.

The vote underscored deep unhappiness in Congress over Trump’s action, which many politicians view as abandoning Kurdish fighters who had been fighting alongside Americans to defeat ISIS
...embracing their inner Islamic Brute...
They also angrily denounced the release from prison of ISIS fighters since Turkey’s offensive began a week ago.

"That was a betrayal of our partners. It was a gift to Russia, a gift to Iran, a gift to ISIS (Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
) and a gift to (Syrian President Bashar al-) Assad," said Representative Eliot Engel, the Democratic chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, who sponsored the resolution.

Separately on Wednesday, congressional and committee leaders from both parties were meeting with Trump at the White House to discuss his Syria policy.

The resolution backed by the House opposes Trump’s decision to remove the troops and calls on his administration to present a "clear and specific plan for the enduring defeat of ISIS."

It also calls on Ottoman Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan to immediately end the offensive, seeks continued US support for Syrian Kurdish communities through humanitarian support, and also calls on the United States to work to ensure that Turkey’s military acts with restraint.

A companion resolution, also backed by Democrats and Republicans, was introduced in the Republican-majority Senate on Tuesday, but has not yet been brought up for a vote.

#6  Maybe Trump should tweet that Obama sending troops into Syria without direct authorization from Congress was unconstitutional and worse than US bombing of Laos and Cambodia and is perilously close to a war crime. Just to see the reaction.

#7  Maybe Trump should carry the case directly to the American people such as FDR did in his Fireside Chats. Go on TV and lay out the entire Syria issue and why he made his decision. We're only talking about a small number of troops being pulled out. Someone here said it something like less than 50 troops. We have not left the Kurds down. We have trained, and provided arms and intelligence to the Kurds. I have heard some say these troops are also trip wire? I'm sure these troops will find relief in that. What happens if we have another Benghazi? I’m still looking for an explanation on Benghazi that isn’t lies and complete B.S.

Can Pelosi or Schumer or the Pubs who sided with the Dems make a cogent case for not pulling out?
Trump was elected by people who are tired of Washington games. They are tired of wars and tired of lies. They are tired of not being well-represented in DC. They are tired of crooked, elitist politicians who enrich themselves at the expense of the taxpayers…and then lie to cover up their wrong-doing. Trump was elected by ordinary Americans as a response to all this. The response to pulling out a small number of troops only highlights larger problems in Washington. We’d be better- served by focusing on and cleaning up our own problems such as the corruption and criminality in our government instead of focusing on regions that clearly hate us (as they have often expressed) and don’t serve our national purpose.

We were only supposed to be in Syria for 30 days. We have been there for a few years now. Someone here said that Trump should have forced Congress to declare a war in that region if they wanted to keep the troops there. When was the last time we declared a war? Wasn’t it WW II? If people are so hawkish on a war, declare it, wage it, and win it and come home. The country pays a huge price in these endless, aimless wars. Many people who benefit from such wars are not the same ones who fight the wars and pay the price of these wars.

Maybe we need a rededication to our Declaration of Independence.

#9  Right now, our tendency is to pretend not to intervene, with less than sufficient force to win, for aims that are poorly if at all articulated and with little cost to the enemy.

If we intervene, it should be swiftly and with devastating force, and aimed at exacting a heavy and very painful price.

Japan allocates millions in aid for typhoon-hit regions
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Japan’s government said Wednesday it would set aside millions of dollars to help areas devastated by Typhoon Hagibis, which killed more than 70 people across the country.

Hagibis slammed into Japan on Saturday, unleashing fierce winds and unprecedented rain that triggered landslides and caused dozens of rivers to burst their banks.

By midday Wednesday, the government put the toll at 74, with more a dozen people still missing.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said his government would offer 710 million yen ($6.5 million) to help areas affected by the storm.

The money will come from some a 500 billion yen emergency reserve, he said.

Tokyo will also fast-track the disbursement of subsidies to more than 300 disaster-hit municipalities.

"The government will stand united to tackle the issue of supporting victims, so that they will be able to return to normal life as quickly as possible," Abe said.

As of Wednesday morning, more than 10,000 households were still suffering from electricity blackouts, while more than 110,000 households are without running water, top government front man Yoshihide Suga told news hounds.

"Today, too, rescue workers are making their utmost efforts in search and rescue work," he said.

"Due to the heavy rains we’ve experienced, the level of water is rising in rivers and there are spots where the ground is getting muddy."

"We call on people to keep vigilant about landslides and floods," he added.

Television footage showed devastated residents returning to homes filled with brown mud, and rescuers searching a hillside for a family missing after a landslide.

The country’s northeast was particularly hard hit by the typhoon -- with a corpse count of 26 in Fukushima prefecture, the highest among the 36 of Japan’s 47 prefectures that were affected.

Collapsed embankments were observed at around 80 locations along 55 rivers in the country, the infrastructure ministry said, as it continues to assess the extent of the damage.

Local trains have gradually resumed operation but some Shinkansen bullet trains were still suspended in the hard-hit Nagano and Niigata regions in central Japan.

In promoting the event, Sanders' campaign has teased a special guest who will join him onstage. Sanders teased the guest himself during the Democratic primary debate on Tuesday, and barely an hour after he did so the Washington Post reported that the guest will be Democratic superstar Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), who is expected to formally endorse the senator for the Democratic nomination.

After that, having to use Fortran on bloody punch cards, wait in line to submit them, then wait for a time slot for the silly thing to be run drove me right out of the entire field.

Turkey detains nearly 200 for opposing Syria operation: Report
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Ottoman Turkish police have detained nearly 200 people over their social media posts against its military offensive in Syria since the operation began last week, state news agency Anadolu said Wednesday.

Of the 186 people held, 24 have been formally arrested, according to Anadolu.

So far, 78 were released and 40 were freed under judicial control, while legal proceedings were ongoing for the rest, it said.

Among those detained for "terrorist propaganda" against the operation this week were the co-presidents of the pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), Sezai Temelli and Pervin Buldan.

The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund...
launched "Operation Peace Spring" against Kurdish-led forces in northeastern Syria a week ago.

It is thought to have widespread support at home, but has been widely criticized by the international community, who relied on Kurdish forces to fight ISIS

Knife-wielding Muslim in Brussels asks passersby if they are Jewish
[IsraelTimes] Belgian police arrested a Moslem man who asked passersby on a Brussels street if they were Jewish while holding a knife and shouting about Allah.

No one was hurt in the incident last week in Koekelberg, a northwestern neighborhood of the Belgian capital.

Police subdued the man in the neighboring district of Sint-Jans-Molenbeek following an hourlong search, the news site HLN reported Friday. His name was not disclosed.

The suspect is not considered a terrorist, a front man for the Brussels Prosecutor’s Office told HLN, though he is believed to have committed attempted murder "with connection to his religious or philosophical convictions."
It clearly only counts as terrorism if the miscreant is a fully paid up member of a listed jihadi group like Al Qaeda or ISIS. Hizb-ut-Tahrir, Hamas, and Hizb’allah don’t count because they claim to be political rather than waging war.

Mnuchin: More US sanctions on Turkey to come if no ceasefire in Syria
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The United States is prepared to ratchet up economic pressure on Ankara if Turkish forces do not agree to cease their offensive in northern Syria, US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said on Wednesday.

“Additional sanctions will be coming if they don’t institute a ceasefire,” he told reporters.

Earlier on Wednesday, Turkey’s foreign ministry is preparing retaliatory sanctions against the United States after US President Donald Trump imposed sanctions on Ankara over its offensive in northeastern Syria, presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin said.

On Monday, the US Treasury slapped punitive sanctions on Turkey’s defense minister and two other ministers in response to Ankara’s military assault on northern Syria.

Minister of Defense Hulusi Akar, Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu, and Energy Minister Fatih Donmez were placed on the Treasury’s sanctions blacklist, freezing their US assets and banning US or US-related transactions with them.

Hundreds of Syrian Kurds seek refuge in Iraq
See the Iraqi side here.
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Hundreds of Syrian Kurds entered neighboring Iraqi’s Kurdish autonomous region on Wednesday, fleeing a Ottoman Turkish offensive in northeast Syria, an official said.

"On Wednesday, about 800 Syrian refugees entered Iraqi Kurdistan," said Rashid Hussein of the refugee authority for the autonomous Kurdish region.

The new arrivals, mostly women and kiddies, were being taken to Berdarch camp in Dohuk province, he told AFP, as the fighting in nearby northeastern Syria entered its second week.

Iraqi Kurdistan previously hosted millions of Iraqis who fled fighting with ISIS
...embracing their inner Islamic Brute...
who occupied much of the country’s north between 2014 and 2017.

Many of them are still housed in camps for the displaced.

NGOs operating in the region said they had been on alert since Ankara launched its operation on October 9 against Kurdish bully boys, following an abrupt US withdrawal.

On Saturday evening, 182 Syrian Kurds started crossing the border into Iraqi Kurdistan "to escape bombardments in northeastern Syria," the International Organization for Migration said.

State Department Official Said He Raised Concerns Over Burisma Corruption In 2016
[Daily Caller] A senior State Department official told Congress on Tuesday that he had concerns in 2016 with corruption involving Burisma Holdings, the Ukrainian energy firm linked to Hunter Biden, two sources familiar with his testimony told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

George Kent, who serves as deputy assistant secretary of state for Eurasian and European affairs, spoke at length Tuesday about Burisma’s problems with corruption, the two sources told the DCNF. They shared details of the deposition on condition of anonymity.

The career diplomat also said that he raised concerns with USAID in 2016 regarding an event that the agency was to have with Burisma, which is owned by Ukrainian oligarch Mykola Zlochevsky.

Kent was worried because the event involved children, and he did not feel comfortable with them being photographed in conjunction with the company, the two sources said. The State Department did not respond to a request for comment.

Kent, who handles a six-country portfolio that includes Ukraine, was deposed under subpoena as part of a Democrat-led impeachment inquiry that is focusing on President Trump’s actions towards Ukraine.

In a July 25 phone call, Trump asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to consider investigating whether Joe Biden in 2016 forced the removal of a Ukrainian prosecutor who claims he was fired because he was investigating Burisma. Hunter Biden joined the Burisma board in 2014, and was paid $50,000 a month in that role.

#1  Diplomat’s corruption concerns are shit-canned by DS cover-up minions in government. Corruption is harvested in some "ripe" foreign country like Ukraine by an evil hedge-fund billionaire who has paved the way for corruption via a fomented revolution. The skids are greased by Deep State cover-up minions within the government. Money comes back to dirty politicians to enrich them and expand their power.

Just fleshing out the basis for a novel. This is just fictional and couldn’t really happen.

Heightened tensions between Turks and Kurds on German amateur football pitches
More expat Turks and Kurds clashing. Yesterday’s clash report was here.
[DW] A military salute by Ottoman Turkish players at an international against Albania has spilled over onto Germany’s amateur pitches. Regional associations are trying to put a lid on a potential source of on-field tensions.

Amateur football associations nationwide have tried to nip things in the bud by issuing a ban on military salutes ‐ and three amateur clubs from the western city of Recklinghausen are already having to answer for their players' action in a regional sports court.
It didn't take the copycats very long. Less than 48 hours after members of the Ottoman Turkish national team raised their right hands in a salute to their country's armed forces during last Friday's international, the military greeting found its way to the pitch of an amateur league in the Ruhr-district town of Herne. The Turkspor Herne players stood at attention, hands raised to their foreheads before their home match against FC Castrop Rauxel.

The martial tone carried on into the match itself; a heated contest that boiled over in the second half after a couple of questionable calls from one of the linesmen ‐ both of which went against the home side. Several members of the team physically attacked the official, punching and kicking him.

Ministry of Justice vows to prosecute perpetrators of Al-Furnaj massacre
[Libya Observer] The Ministry of Justice confirmed that its competent task forces had monitored and documented the horrific crime of al-Furnaj and all similar incidents in which non-combatants were killed.

The ministry said in a statement that the perpetrators of this crime would be prosecuted internally, otherwise through the International Criminal Court (ICC).

"Such offence amount to war crimes, which do not fall into the statute of limitations," the ministry has stated, underlining that it would not hesitate to cooperate with the ICC to ensure that those responsible for such crimes are brought before the court; should circumstances prevent their prosecution before the national judiciary.

US conducted cyberattack on Iran following strike on Saudi oil – report
[IsraelTimes] Offensive said to have taken aim at Tehran’s propaganda capabilities, seen as a more limited response than military strike that could escalate into war.

The United States reportedly conducted a cyberattack against Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
in the wake of last month’s strike on key Saudi oil facilities, which many Western countries have blamed on the Islamic Theocratic Republic.

Pope Announces Any Time Spent Watching 'The View' Counts As Time Served In Purgatory
[Babylon Bee] VATICAN CITY‐Pope Francis has made one of his official, Popey announcements. (For our Protestant audience, a declaration from the pope is kinda like when Russell Moore tweets something; it carries a lot of weight for Catholics.)

Anyway, the pope declared that any time you've spent watching The View in this life will count as time served in purgatory.

"Frankly, if you watch those women bickering, that's punishment enough," said Pope Francis in a speech. He declared that your time will be tallied up by the angels, who will then mark that off as though you'd spent the time in purgatory.

The pope said the exchange rate for time is about 1 hour of The View for a "good six months" of purification in purgatory.

"Exchange rates fluctuate, of course, and it depends on the episode," he remarked. "An episode with Alyssa Milano or Chelsea Clinton is obviously worth a lot more than a regular episode."

The show's ratings saw a small bump after the announcement but ticked back down when Catholics realized they'd rather just spend time in purgatory.
