Questions arise after viral Windsor hockey coach tweet (Hint: Islamophobia Hoax)
Attention Whores gonna lie/whore for attention
[WILX - HT Weasel Zippers] A Windsor, Ontario hockey coach claimed he was driving from Windsor to East Lansing to rent ice and coach free hockey clinics for children. That's when Talha Javaid allegedly received a racist text message from a parent of one of those players.

The text from Chase said, "I'm not a racist but I don't feel comfortable with you teaching him [his son Riley] and the influence you will have on him. He added that it makes more sense if its not some "Muslim guy teaching it". Chase said if "it were cricket or something that would be different but it's not". Chase goes on to say he hopes he would consider resigning and not coaching hockey.

Javaid posted that text message on social media and received thousands of posts of support, even from professional players like Evander Kane.
Bait? Taken
But the question remains, who is Chase and where exactly was Javaid coaching? News 10 spoke to a Yahoo Sports reporter who said Javaid told her it was at Suburban Ice in East Lansing. Suburban Ice said they did not want to go on camera but have never heard of Javaid nor the ice skating clinic he allegedly was holding.
Islamophobic!
News 10 checked ice rinks all around East Lansing and the surrounding area- not one says they have heard of him before and no one had him scheduled to coach through their arena.

This isn't the first time Javaid claims he was a target for racism.
Nooooooo
In 2017, he told the Windsor Star he walked out of an ice rink in Windsor and found a note on his car that said stop coming to the rink with some expletives, with Muslim go home and make Canada great again.

News 10 reached out to Javaid and have not heard back.We will update you when we do.

Lindsey Graham reverses Syria stance, says Trump's policy could succeed
[JPost]-Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, who has been one of the most vocal critics of President Donald Trump's decision to move US troops out of northeastern Syria, said on Sunday he now believed "historic solutions" were possible.
CinC Graham forgot his place and priorities
In an interview with Fox News Channel, Graham said a conversation he had with Trump over the weekend had fueled his optimism that a solution could be reached where the security of Turkey and the Kurds was guaranteed and fighters from Islamic State contained.

"I am increasingly optimistic that we can have some historic solutions in Syria that have eluded us for years if we play our cards right," Graham said.

One in Five Dallas Trump Rally Registrants Was Democrat, Campaign Chair Says
If you like numbers, dear Reader, this is the article for you.
[EpochTimes] More than one in five people who registered for President Donald Trump
...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party...
’s "Keep America Great" campaign rally in Dallas, Texas, were Democrats, according to Trump’s campaign manager Brad Parscale.

Parscale, whose forte is data analysis, has posted breakdowns of data collected from the registrations from the past several rallies.

"Incredible data from last night’s Dallas rally," he wrote in an Oct. 18 tweet.

The data revealed that nearly 54,000 voters signed up for the event, with nearly one in eight (12 percent) who didn’t vote in the last four elections and more than one in five (21.4 percent) who identified as Democrats. Eleven percent of the registrants are Hispanic.

"These are winning numbers that will help win #FourMoreYears for @realDonaldTrump!" Parscale wrote. "We continue to outperform 2016."

Trump carried the state of Texas in 2016 with nearly 4.7 million votes compared to the less than 3.9 million garnered by his Democrat opponent, former Secretary of State Crooked Hillary Clinton
...former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, Conqueror of Benghazi, Heroine of Tuzla, formerly described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as The Thing That Wouldn't Go Away...
TRUMP CROWDS
Trump rallies are the most tangible demonstration of support for the president. The American Airlines Center was filled to capacity (some 20,000 people) with tens of thousands more gathered outside to watch the rally on a large screen. People had been lining up more than 24 hours before the rally started, campaign’s spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany documented in a video posted on Twitter on Oct. 16.

"This rally is amazing. Like, I have never seen anything like this before," comedian Terrence Williams told Right Side Broadcasting Network.

Williams has been a bit of celebrity among Trump supporters for voicing conservative views on his Youtube channel, often eating fried chicken or slurping soda while offering humorous political or social commentary. This was the first time for him to attend a Trump rally.

"I mean, the energy is unbelievable," he said. "Everybody is friendly.

"I was told that people at the Trump rallies are dangerous but I’ve been getting hugs all day. So the media have been lying. This is awesome."

RALLY DATA
The relatively high percentage of Democrats among those signing up for the rally seem to be a continuation of a trend.

Parscale first started to post highlights from the registration data after the Sept. 16 rally in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Clinton won the state by a more than 8-percent margin in 2016.

"@realDonaldTrump rally in NM was a data gold mine," he commented on Twitter.

Of the 45,000 who registered, 94 percent were from within the state and 78 percent were matched to voter file.

More than one in five voted in one or none of the last four elections and 40 percent were Hispanic, the data showed. Nearly one in three were Democrats.

A similar breakdown was posted by Parscale after the Oct. 10 rally in Minneapolis.

Over 42,000 voters were identified in the data of whom 13 percent voted in none or one of the last four elections. Also, 30 percent were Democrats.

"This is a massive amount of data that will help our models improve to win Minnesota!" Parscale said.

Clinton won Minnesota by less than 45,000 votes.

#1  Interesting numbers. First suspicion would be a large scale false flag op. But that seems unlikely given we haven't seen any unusual disruption at Trump rallies.

The other explanation is people are getting tired of the Democrats for all the reasons that gave us Trump in the first place. Something overlooked in the last election was that in h8ter racist states like Michigan, the only way Trump could have won was if previous Obama voters went with Trump. Are we seeing the start of a preference cascade?

Didn't think so.

The polls are BS. Trump's real support is higher than 50% of registered voters.

Merkel says German multiculturalism has failed
h/t Instapundit
[Reuters] - Germany’s attempt to create a multicultural society has "utterly failed," Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Saturday, adding fuel to a debate over immigration and Islam polarizing her conservative camp.

Speaking to a meeting of young members of her Christian Democrats (CDU), Merkel said allowing people of different cultural backgrounds to live side by side without integrating had not worked in a country that is home to some four million Muslims.
KEY WORDS: "without integrating"
"This (multicultural) approach has failed, utterly failed," Merkel told the meeting in Potsdam, south of Berlin.

Merkel faces pressure from within her CDU to take a tougher line on immigrants who don’t show a willingness to adapt to German society and her comments appeared intended to pacify her critics.

#1  From the headline, I was kinda sorta expecting The Bee.

A surprising thing for Merkel to say, but she is correct. Trying to make a multicultural society by force and fiat instead of growing it organically has been a huge disruptive failure.

The trick now will be to move to a more stable point in the societal state space. The current situation doesn't seem to be a happy one.

Oregon Video Shows Hero Coach Stopping Shooting
[Victory Girls] It is the Oregon school shooting that wasn’t. While the survelliance video is from last May, it has just been released to the public, and is now getting national attention.

The reason it didn’t make national headlines back in May is because no one was killed or injured, thanks to the heroic actions of Parkrose High School coach Keanon Lowe.
Extraordinary security video from Parkrose High School released Friday by the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office, showed the day last May when Parkrose High School student Angel Granados-Diaz brought a shotgun to school with the intent to kill himself."

Lowe, the school’s security guard and football coach, was hailed as a hero for his actions that day. He disarmed the student, who was suffering from a mental health crisis, and took him into his arms."

The video captured those emotional moments in one of the school’s hallways: Lowe hugs, consoles and talks with Granados-Diaz before police officers, with their guns drawn, arrive to take the teenager into custody."

The video, while not of the best quality, is breathtaking. Watching it, you know that this ending could have been so, so different without Lowe’s intervention.

Death of New Zealand Farming and private property by edict of Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern coming down the pike
Make no mistake, it's your LAND they want.
[Canadian Free Press] "The protest once again underscores how punitive restrictions, bureaucracy and taxes related to climate change hysteria are impacting working class and lower middle class people.

"Middle and upper class Extinction Rebellion demonstrators have been clogging major cities for over a week demanding more of the very thing farmers in the Netherlands have been protesting against."

Then as Jack Phillips points out, there’s the "death of New Zealand Farming and private property by edict of Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern coming down the pike.

"We should all want to be wise and careful stewards of the beautiful planet we call home, says Jack. "But most of us realize that humans in general, are not always the best stewards. We can be wasteful of our natural resources and have on occasion reduced biodiversity.

"Therefore, when we read about groups and organizations calling for a"Green Revolution", and a new relationship between humanity and nature it is easy to engage some agreement with their ideas. However, the motive of "Sustainable Development" that is permeating our society is not about protecting the environment. Influential leaders and willing dupes are using good citizens concerns about future stewarding of resources to legislate "Government Control" of all lands, water, and human production.

"...The Communist Dutch Prime Minister, Mark Rutte, was flying to New Zealand with a Climate Change delegation to have behind the scenes secret meetings with Prime Minister Ardern ‐ and participate in a YouTube Livestream event held at Auckland University this afternoon 4.45-6 pm, 8 October 2019 ‐ organized by the Embassy of the Netherlands in New Zealand, Victoria University of Wellington (where the NZ branch of the Fabian Society is located) called Prime Ministers in Conversation: Climate Change in Transition livestream. Beto O'Rourke Announces Support for Menstrual Equity Act on National Period Day
[PJ] Not to be outdone by Cory Booker's "women are people" moment in the last debate, Beto O'Rourke decided to virtue signal his pro-woman accolades on Saturday by tweeting that "women across America don’t have access to the period products they need," and since it is #NationalPeriodDay (who knew that was a thing?), that "men need to join women in demanding real change." Beto wants "real change" and identifies as a man for the moment (at least until he needs a Hail Mary for his campaign) and he's announced his support for the Menstrual Equity Act.

And yes, it appears that the Menstrual Equity Act is a real thing. H.R. 1882, otherwise known as the Menstrual Equity For All Act of 2019. Apparently Beto thinks women across America have never heard of a pharmacy. Oh but wait, this absurd legislation isn't just for women! According to GovTrack, this legislation will "increase the availability and affordability of menstrual hygiene products for individuals with limited access, and for other purposes."

#10  TW beat me to the bullet hole thingy.

Not from personal experience, Dron66046, but it has been discussed here along with other useful makeshifts.

Here is one you might find useful, from 2007:

Instead of Gatorade
In the Sonora Desert in summer, with water consumption about 5 gallons per man per day, we got into the habit of carrying around ampules with a mix of 1 teaspoon each of sugar, salt and baking soda.

When added to 1 quart or canteen of water, it would instantly absorb through the stomach, while keeping your blood salts balanced, though it tasted like crap.

Trailing daughter #2 took a supply of this mixture with her on a 500 mile bicycle trip she made with her Baha’i youth group (long story, but she was one of the founding members, along with a friend who was a member of the faith). She was the only one who didn’t get heat exhaustion along the way.

Td #2 used to tell me their discussions, and then we’d talk about the Jewish perspective on the subject. She looked up the Baha’i group at her university but was severely disappointed at how close-minded they were, unlike the group of friends she had clearly influenced for the better.

#15  Ours in America are sweetly earnest and ignorant as pigs in mud about the religions they claim to be the endpoint of. Td#2 found herself frequently pointing out that the latest thing they claimed to have invented we Jews had been doing for 3,000+ years. But Baha’i is a 150 year old Muslim heresy from the depths of Iran, so it’s understandable the darlings haven’t got a clue. On the other hand, they have no drive to jihad, so that’s a nice change.

Body Cam Video Of Police Officers Shooting Detravian Allison (very graphic)
[Daily Caller] If you play stupid games, you’re going to win stupid prizes. That’s just about the best way to sum up what happened here.
WARNING 49 Pan reports a virus attached to video
If you pull a gun on the police, you’re just asking to get shot. That’s the way it works. They want to go home at the end of the night just like everybody else.

They’re not in the business of negotiating when they think bullets are going to start flying.

Thankfully, Allison never even got a shot off, it was cleared as a clean shooting and the two police officers came home safely.

At the end of the day, that’s all you can ask for sometimes.
No, Mr. Allison did not survive his injuries.

Hillary Clinton Asked To Leave Costco After Repeatedly Accusing Sample Lady Of Being A Russian Asset
[Babylon Bee] WASHINGTON, D.C.‐According to sources at a DC-area Costco, failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was asked to leave Costco again after repeatedly accusing a lady handing out food samples of being a Russian asset.

It wasn't clear how Clinton had ended up in the Costco, as she usually has her servants' servants go to the market for her. Some suggested she wanted to disguise herself and go be among her subjects to see how the other 99% lives.

Whatever the case, the sample lady had apparently offered the failed presidential candidate a small paper cup of orange juice and told her the packs were on sale for $9.49 when the incident occurred.

"Orange... orange like Trump!" Clinton screamed suddenly, frightening the poor food demonstration worker. "You're in league with him, aren't you!?" The failed presidential candidate lunged across the cart and attempted to pull off her face mask, certain the lady was actually Vladimir Putin in a skin suit.

When that failed and the woman shooed her off with a plastic glove, Clinton turned for help and began screaming, "Security! Margaret in the frozen foods aisle is a Russian asset! Help, help, our elections are being meddled with!"

Guards arrived but relaxed when they saw it was just Hillary Clinton. "OK, lady, let's go," they said, grabbing her by each arm.

"Thank goodness you're here!" Clinton cried. "Arrest that woman! Can't someone help me out!?"

"Oh yeah, sure, lady, we'll help you out," the guards said, snickering as they dragged her toward the front door.

According to sources at the Costco, this is the third time this has happened this week.

Shocking: California Power Provider Says Blackouts Could Continue For A Decade
[Red State] The state of California continues its steep decline into anarchy as one if its main power companies, PG&E recently instituted blackouts affecting millions of residents. The company had been found libel for the destructive Paradise fires after an investigation concluded the fires had been caused by sparks from their above ground wires as they were battered around by severe wind events.
"has been found libel"?
Possibly he misspelt labile...
The lines should have long ago been put underground, but that wasn’t the extent of PG&E’s malfeasance. It has since come to light that executives have been kicking the maintenance can down the road for decades. There have been few upgrades and few routine maintenance checks for nearly 60 years while the company’s executives pocket huge pay-raises and profits. PG&E filed for bankruptcy in January after incurring $30 billion in libel costs. Over 100 people died in the 2017 and 2018 fires caused by their power lines.

Even after the blackouts incensed millions of Californians and became ridiculed in memes from across the country, the power behemoth is defending their move and now The Wall Street Journal reports that PG&E executives believe the "safety" blackouts could continue for much longer than expected.

Rep. Amash: Clinton's attack on Gabbard will 'drive many people into the arms' of Trump
[The Hill] Rep. Justin Amash (I-Mich.) knocked Hillary Clinton for suggesting that 2020 Democratic hopeful Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) was being groomed by Russia to run as a third-party candidate, arguing the attack only helps President Trump's reelection efforts.

"The thing we know for sure is that Hillary Clinton is a Donald Trump asset," Amash, a vocal Trump critic, tweeted late Friday. "Hillary does ‐ and did ‐ drive many people into the arms of Donald Trump. Her attack on Tulsi does likewise."

Clinton on Friday warned during a podcast interview that Russia was poised to meddle in the next U.S. presidential election through online disinformation efforts, and she said Moscow could attempt to sow chaos by encouraging a third-party candidate.

"She’s the favorite of the Russians. They have a bunch of sites and bots and other ways of supporting her so far," Clinton said in an apparent reference to Gabbard, who has faced unfounded speculation that her campaign is being amplified by bots and online trolls.

Gabbard later Friday unleashed an attack on the former secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee, calling her the "queen of warmongers" and the "personification of the rot that has sickened the Democratic Party."

"From the day I announced my candidacy, there has been a concerted campaign to destroy my reputation. We wondered who was behind it and why. Now we know ‐ it was always you," she said, challenging Clinton to join the primary instead of "cowardly hid[ing] behind your proxies."

#4  1) There are lots of things the Dems are doing to lose support - this is only one of them.

2) I'm with Frank G. on this one - there's no way Romney runs for President again, and there are a number of reasons why he won't. He already ran once and lost, so I don't see why anyone would want to make that effort a second time, and there's only a handful of people who've decided to abuse themselves multiple times on that campaign trail. Even if he was completely delusional, his advisers would be advising him 'you don't have a snowball's chance in hell' of beating an immensely popular President, and that's if he can even get on the ballot in all fifty (seven) states. It ain't happening.

#16  Among many reasons that the polls suck: they're based entirely on individuals' stated responses to questions. Individuals lie. You get the wrong sample. Or the right individuals, who tell the truth as they see it today, but then change their opinions.

Or they tell you the truth, but they're opinions are based on underlying causal forces which you the pollster don't understand. So when those underlying causal factors shift, your poll data's predictive value goes to zero. Cf the real driver of voting behavior in the Trump-Brexit era, which is the colossal failure of globalism and the global elites to address the most basic need of the citizenry, which is that their citizenship MATTER.

#20  The people whose votes matter the most - in this country, that's a) low-turnout African-American voters and b) older white swing district voters - are the least likely to participate politically and make their voices heard.

And yet a small change in their turnout and their overall preference can quite literally sway a presidential election: the first group a) put Obama over the top in 2012, and the second group b) put Trump over the top in 2016.

In neither case did the pollsters predict these outcomes because both of these groups are notoriously difficult to reach.

Polls = shadows on the wall of the cave

-Lurid Crime Tales-
'God knows why': Long wait for DOJ inspector general report on alleged FISA abuses vexes Trump allies
[Washington Examiner] Conflicting signals surround the classification review for the Justice Department inspector general's report on alleged Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act abuses.

A month after Inspector General Michael Horowitz completed his investigation, there are signs that the declassification process is taking longer than expected at the Justice Department and the FBI, and that has made some Trump allies nervous.

Last weekend, Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo announced that her sources were telling her it would be released Friday. But by Monday, Bartiromo updated her report, tweeting, "IG report NOT out this Friday 10/18. Classifications being made. Likely end of month."

Her colleague at Fox Business, Lou Dobbs, who has long complained of the moving "goal posts" for the release of the FISA report, was irritated by the delay. "We now are told by apparently reliable sources that it’s to be delayed. God knows why," he said on his show Wednesday.

Republican allies of President Trump are eager for the report's release as they believe it will show top Justice Department and FBI officials improperly targeted the Trump team by misleading the FISA court in using an unverified dossier compiled by British ex-spy Christopher Steele to obtain warrants to electronically monitor onetime Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. Some have even predicted that the four FISA warrants against Page were illegally obtained and have demanded accountability.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Trump noted that the release of the FISA report is "coming out soon" and will shed light on a "corrupt election." Trump said he believes the string of misconduct "goes right up" to his predecessor, former President Barack Obama.

Democrats have dismissed the allegations of wrongdoing during the Trump-Russia investigation and are concerned that U.S. Attorney John Durham's review of the early stages of the Russia investigation, being overseen by Attorney General William Barr, may be an effort to discredit the work of special counsel Robert Mueller.

Little is known about what the report will say, let alone what is going on behind the scenes at the Justice Department and the FBI. A DOJ official who spoke with Fox News disputed there being a tumultuous debate over redactions. "The FBI and the DOJ are working together smoothly on the declassification process," the official said.

But former Republican Utah Rep. Jason Chaffetz, now a Fox News contributor, posited a more skeptical explanation for why there appears to have been a delay that may infuriate Trump's supporters.

"Evidently, there’s an intra-agency debate and really a food fight if you will about the classification issues," Chaffetz said on Sean Hannity's show on Monday. "Remember in the last report put out by Horowitz, there were only seven words or so that were redacted. The Democrats threw a fit that they couldn’t see the whole thing. This could have 10-20% of the report redacted."

#12  IG report should have been out months ago. It took longer, apparently, because of insistence that it cover matters other than the FISA review. This was, I think, a mistake as the FISA matter could have been completed and a second report begun on the other matters.

The IG has no authority to interview outside the DOJ and no authority to call grand jury etc. It will be the Durham review that really matters and Durham has only limited authority until the IG report is out.

I'd err on the side of transparency and release document minimally unredacted. Let the chips fall where they may. We have had too many phony panels, Congressional hearings behind closed doors, blue-chip commissions that have led to nothing but never-ending conspiracy theories (and maybe conspiracies), a distrust of government that continue for years. Put the evidence out there for the public to see. I doubt that these agencies such as the FBI, DOJ, DOS, and Intelligence agencies could be damaged more than they have by the actions of those in the last administration.

Hundreds of pro-Hong Kong protesters flood NBA game amid China controversy
[Washington Examiner] Hundreds of activists attended an NBA game between the Toronto Raptors and the Brooklyn Nets wearing pro-Hong Kong shirts.

Film producer Andrew Duncan purchased 300 tickets to the Friday night game at New York City’s Barclays Center. Duncan provided the tickets to hundreds of activists willing to attend the game while wearing shirts that read, "Stand With Hong Kong."

The protesters also wore black masks that resembled the masks that activists in Hong Kong wear during protests to protect themselves from tear gas used by police.

Hong Kong politician and activist Nathan Law also attended the game. Law, 26, is a prominent pro-democracy advocate who was arrested and imprisoned for two months in 2017 by Chinese law enforcement for unlawful assembly. He was released on bail.

Alice went to the convent. She became Sister Agnes. In her first meeting with Mother Superior, Mother Superior explained to her that this order obeyed the vows of silence except that every five years, a nun could say only three words during a meeting with Mother Superior. Sister Agnes said she understood.

5 years went by and Sister Agnes was called in to review her progress and hear any complaints she might have.

“Well, Sister Agnes what do you have to say for yourself?”

Agnes: “Hard bed!”

Mother Superior: “We’ll see what we can do about that. We’ll get you a new mattress.”

Another 5 years go by and Sister Agnes is called in for a 5 year review. Mother Superior asks what she has to say and at time and reminds Agnes of her vow.

Mother Superior: “What do you have to say for yourself Sister Agnes?”

Sister Agnes: “Bad food!”

Mother Superior: “We’ll try to improve the menu. See you in 5 years.”

Another 5 years go by and the same ritual occurs. Mother Superior asks her to say no more than three words. “What do you have to say Sister Agnes?”

Sister Agnes: “I quit!”

Mother Superior: “You quit? Good riddance Sister Agnes, you’ve done nothing but bitch and moan for past 15 years!

#8  You wouldn't want to eat our cows if you saw how most farms kept the darn things. I can have myself all the beef I want in muslim localities, anyone can. Buffalo's allowed, cheaper and what most muslims eat. It's only banned in hindu majority areas with some religious history, such as I imagine pork would be in jerusalem ? The better hotels and restaurants all still serve imported beef, from Tennessee cow to Wagyu. Of course that's expensive. But the beef from most local cattle ? You'd get more protein out of a roadkill iguana.

Beef is practically staple in the North East, and those cattle are raised well. Which is why a Naga grunt can wrestle two Sikhs to the ground with one hand tied.

There is a conflict, AU. But it's not for diet. The muslims have a habit of demanding everything their way, despite local beliefs or the majority will. If it's not about a certain food product it'll be about family laws. The majority seeks to keep this minority in check, un-empowered and preferably without much purchasing power. Since beef is so important to muslims, the State which doesn't really care about cows
saw it as a way to shut down half the muslim owned unregulated meat and leather industry, and put restrictive burdens on the trade. They roused the hindu rabble to target butchers and sellers of beef using the 'cow is our mother' doctrine through fringe frothers of the hindu kind.

Of course some states have outright banned it, the local administrations falling over each other trying to please what they think is a fanatic hindu PM.

FATF’s concerns
[Dawn] THE latest message from Gay Paree is unmistakable. The tone of the Financial Action Task Force on the conclusion of its plenary indicates how seriously the world is taking Pakistain’s inability to meet global anti-money laundering and counterterrorism financing standards.

These concerns were voiced in so many words by the FATF president when he noted: "Pakistain needs to do more [to fix the weaknesses in its anti-money laundering/combating financing for terrorism regime] and it needs to do it faster. Pakistain’s failure to fulfil the FATF global standards is an issue we take very seriously."

Then followed the warning, perhaps the first since Pakistain was placed on the FATF grey list in June 2018 for an intense monitoring process that the country has only until next February to make "significant progress" on.

It must do this across the full range of the 27-point national action plan agreed on with FATF, or risk action which could include Pakistain being blacklisted along with countries considered a haven for terrorism financing.

The outcome of the plenary is quite the opposite of what ministers and officials had projected.

Contrary to official claims, Pakistain has missed the third deadline for implementing the measures required to exit the grey list. Only five of the 27 measures ‐ which include identification and supervision of terror-financing risks and boosting control on illicit currency movement ‐ have been ’largely’ addressed. Sadly, the government has never cared to publicly share the document. It is, however, unclear if FATF rules bar it from making the plan public or if it is keeping it a secret for some other reason.

Indeed, FATF also acknowledges the progress made by the country towards improving its AML/CFT regime, but didn’t find it adequate enough to let it off the hook.

It underlines that Pakistain hasn’t adequately demonstrated "proper understanding of the transnational terror-financing risks posed by terrorist groups" [operating from its territory] and conducted supervision on a risk-sensitive basis.

FATF requires Pakistain to deliver on its commitment to crack down on terrorism financing by fixing the strategic deficiencies in the AML/CFT regime such as identification of cash couriers, enforcement of controls on illicit currency movement, effective implementation of financial sanctions against all internationally designated turbans and krazed killer groups, as well as their agents.

Failure to meet the February deadline for making "significant and sustainable progress" will put the country on the blacklist and have serious consequences for its struggling economy, including tough sanctions on its banks and a freeze on official and private capital inflows.

The time to linger on Pakistain’s commitments has passed. It is now time to walk the talk if the country wants to escape being blacklisted or even get another extension to comply fully with the global AML/CFT standards after the expiry of the current deadline.

#1  Who are they kidding ? The FATF don't want to blacklist them, Indonesian accountants and Chinese shell companies probably are coaching and assisting them and the paperwork is just so much, it's taking time to get a 'pass'. They will probably never see the black list.

Internet shutdown fuels occupied Kashmir fake news battle in South Asia
[Dawn] A communications blackout in the powderkeg region of Indian-Indian Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
e is fuelling a fake news war between internet users in India and Pakistain, as both sides unleash a deluge of disinformation to fill the vacuum and shape opinion.

India cut access to occupied Kashmir's internet and phone lines in August as it sought to contain the fallout of its decision to revoke the region's autonomy.

Snit Romney
It's Kurt Schlichter at Town Hall
I want my vote back, Mitt. Give me back my vote.

In 2012, I voted for this insufferable establishment icon, this inept goof who the Democrats wish every Republican would emulate. Some nights, I wake up sweating and screaming when I relive it in my nightmares. I should have taken my ballot, lit it on fire and flushed it down the Schiffhole.

But Romney does serve a purpose, as hard as that is to see through his pathetic antics. His perpetual groveling for approval ‐ including, hilariously, from Donald Trump himself who just broke him right in front of our eyes over the Secretary of State gig ‐ is so shameful and cringe-iliciously embarrassing that it obscures the vital role this shiny doofus can play for conservatism.

He’s a perfect conservative cautionary example.

Iraqi Charged in Australia over Deadly Trafficking Ring
Colonization has been going on for a while.
[AnNahar] An Iraqi man has been charged in Australia with people trafficking in connection with the drowning deaths of more than 350 asylum seekers in 2001, police said Saturday.

Maythem Radhi, 43, was arrested at Brisbane airport late Friday after being extradited from New Zealand and has been charged with "organising groups of non-citizens into Australia".

He faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

Police claim he was part of a syndicate that charged 421 mostly Iraqi and Afghan refugees for a place aboard an Indonesian fishing boat known by Australian authorities as SIEV-X in 2001.

The vessel sunk in the Indian Ocean while en route to Australia's Christmas Island, leaving 353 people dead, 146 of them children.

"Police will allege in court that the man, then aged 24, took payments from the passengers," the Australian Federal Police said in a statement on Saturday -- exactly 18 years after the disaster.

"It will also be alleged that he helped facilitate the transportation and accommodation of people in Indonesia in preparation for their journey to Australia," they added.

Radhi is the third person to face court for their role in the disaster.

Iraqi people smuggler Khaleed Shnayf Daoed was extradited from Sweden to Australia in 2003 and received a nine-year sentence two years later, with prosecutors portraying the then 36-year-old as a key organiser for Egyptian people smuggler Abu Quassey.

Quassey was convicted in Egypt in December 2003 of causing death through negligence and was sentenced to seven years in prison.

Radhi is expected to appear in court later this month.

Russian Air Force unleashes large attack on jihadist base and convoy
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Russian Air Force launched a large-scale attack on the Idlib Governorate today, targeting several sites in this jihadist-held region of northern Syria.

Led by their military aircraft, the Russian Air Force carried out an important attack on the jihadist-held Taftanaz Airbase, which has been used by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else

In addition to the strikes on the Taftanaz Airbase, the Russian Air Force also resumed their attack on the jihadist stronghold of Rakaya, which is believed to be home to one of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham’s main command centers in the southern region of Idlib.

The Russian Air Force has recently stepped up their attacks across the northwestern region of Syria amid reports of a new offensive that is going to be launched by the Syrian Arab Army and their allies in the Idlib, Hama, and Latakia governorates.

Hillary Clinton backs out of DC event also set to include Tulsi Gabbard, Kirstjen Nielsen
[FOXNEWS] Crooked Hillary Clinton
...former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, Conqueror of Benghazi, Heroine of Tuzla, formerly described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as The Thing That Wouldn't Go Away...
has backed out of a Friday appearance at an event also scheduled to include Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard, among other guests, according to a report.

Word of Clinton's removal from the bill of Fortune magazine’s Most Powerful Women Summit came Thursday, the same day the former secretary of state sparked a clash by accusing Gabbard of being groomed by Russia to run as a third-party candidate for president in 2020.

The Hawaii congresswoman and combat veteran fired back in a scathing series of tweets later Thursday, challenging Clinton not to "hide behind your proxies" and join the presidential race "directly."

Slate.com reported that Clinton removed herself from the three-day summit due to a scheduling conflict. An unnamed source told the publication that Clinton decided not to participate in an act of protest against former Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, who was also scheduled to speak.

Nielsen, who resigned in April, oversaw the Trump administration’s controversial "zero tolerance" immigration policy, which resulted in the separation of thousands of migrant children from their families at the border. The policy was later rescinded.

More than 51,000 people signed a petition asking Fortune to pull Nielsen from the summit’s roster, Slate also reported. About 100 speakers were still scheduled to attend the summit as of Friday evening.

Gabbard and lawyer Anita Hill are among the more high-profile scheduled speakers, on a list that also includes business executives, journalists, scholars and some elected officials.

Aid agencies evacuate wounded from Syria’s Sari Kani, but say more need help
[Rudaw] Aid agencies were able to evacuate a number of maimed persons from the northern Syria’s Sari Kani (Ras al-Ain) on Saturday, but appeal for a humanitarian corridor into the town that is under control of Ottoman Turkish-backed Syrian forces because there are still injured people waiting to be brought out.

The main hospital was damaged in the town that has seen the fiercest festivities between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Ottoman Turkish army with their allied Syrian militias. The border town is a focus of The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...Qatar's satrapy in Asia Minor...
’s military offensive against the Kurdish-led force.

The Kurdish Red Islamic Thingy attempted to evacuate the injured on Friday, but was not successful. They were blocked on the way by Syrian militias, Rudaw’s Viviyan Fatah reported from Tal Tamr, where the medical convoy originated.

On Saturday they tried again, joined by the humanitarian group Free Burma Rangers and was able to reach the hospital when the militias held off their fire.

"The Free Syrian Army
... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund...
, which works for the Turks, had been attacking us. They stopped. A way was open," explained David Eubank, founder of the Rangers. "We went in a line of ambulances along with our Free Burma Rangers ambulance. We got the patients out ‐ about 37 maimed ‐ out quickly, less than an hour," he explained to Rudaw in Tel Tamr.

Four bodies were also brought out of the town, but more are buried under rubble and "there are maimed people we could not reach," the Kurdish Red Islamic Thingy stated, appealing for a formal humanitarian corridor to be established.

At least 30 of the maimed were taken to Qamishli’s Farman Hospital. "We have taken out some of the people with serious injuries," said the Kurdish Red Islamic Thingy’s Dr. Dilgash in Qamishli.

Qamishli’s hospitals are so far able to cope with the influx of patients, "but if conditions worsen, we can send them to the Kurdistan Region," Dilgash said.

A 13-year-old boy with severe burns from a suspected chemical weapon attack in Sari Kani is being transferred to a hospital in Erbil for specialized treatment.

Dilgash said it was too early to tell if any of the injured newly evacuated from Sari Kani had been hit with chemical weapons.

The United States negotiated a pause in hostilities in Sari Kani on Thursday evening that gives the SDF five days to pull out of there and another border town, Gire Spi (Tal Abyad), hand over their heavy weapons, and move southward some 32 kilometres to the M4 highway, after which Turkey would commit to a full ceasefire.

Both sides have accused the other of violating the truce.

Turkish forces capture 2 towns near Ras Al-Ayn despite ceasefire agreement
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Ottoman Turkish-backed murderous Moslems scored a new advance in the Ras al-Ayn countryside this week, despite an ongoing ceasefire agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

According to a report from northern Syria, the Ottoman Turkish-backed murderous Moslems attacked the Syrian Democratic Forces in the southern countryside of Ras al-Ayn this afternoon, seizing two towns after a short battle.

The report said the so-called "Syrian National Army" managed to capture the towns of Jan Tamr and al-Shakriyah following the SDF’s withdrawal towards the city of Ras al-Ayn.

This attack by the Ottoman Turkish-backed murderous Moslems was a violation of the fragile ceasefire agreement that was brokered by the United States after U.S. President Donald Trump
...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US...

Democrat Rep. Katie Hill Reportedly Involved in ‘Throuple’ Relationship with Female Staffer
[BREITBART] Rep. Katie Hill (D-CA), a member of the House Oversight and Reform Committee, was allegedly involved in a "throuple" relationship with one of her female staffers and later went on to have an extramarital affair with her former finance director, a report from RedState claims.
RedState obtained text messages and photos which allegedly suggest that Rep. Katie Hill ‐ who is currently undergoing divorce proceedings ‐ carried out a two-year relationship with one of her female staffers, who was hired in 2017. Hill’s husband, Kenny Heslep, was reportedly part of the "throuple" relationship, a term used to describe three individuals involved in a consensual romantic relationship.

According to RedState, the three ‐ Hill, Heslep, and the young female staffer ‐ "took multiple vacations together, including to Alaska, where this photograph was taken." The image referenced allegedly shows a censored image of Hill brushing the staffer’s hair in the nude. Other images allegedly show Hill and the staffer kissing.

According to RedState, the "throuple’s" relationship changed once Hill moved to D.C., and Hill "broke off her relationships with both Heslep and the staffer, claiming she wanted to focus on ’this important work’ and that it wasn’t fair to be involved in a relationship." The outlet shared screenshots of text messages allegedly between Hill and the staffer, who was "distraught and trying to figure out how to move on with her life."

Northrop Grumman to ship secret cargo through LA-area marina en route to San Diego
Shhhh it's a secret! Jeebus
[10 News] Defense contractor Northrop Grumman will be moving secret cargo through a Southern California marina this weekend.

The Daily Breeze reports part of King Harbor Marina in Redondo Beach will be shut down from 5 p.m. Friday to 5 p.m. Sunday for the move of what is described as a U.S. Navy demonstration project.

The large object will be taken from a Northrop Grumman facility in Redondo Beach to a barge for shipment to San Diego.

The newspaper says that during a Redondo Beach City Council meeting this week, Northrop Grumman officials cited national security concerns in declining to provide information about the object.

The company agreed on Oct. 15 to pay the city $25,000 for a licensing agreement to use the marina and for any costs the city incurs.

Erdogan says Syrian Army is active in Turkey’s operation area
[ALMASDARNEWS] Ottoman Turkish President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really more important...
will focus on presence of Syrian forces in northern Syria at talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin
...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances...
in Sochi, Erdogan said in the city of Kayseri on Saturday, with his speech aired by the NTV channel.

"Yesterday, I held talks with US President Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
. On Tuesday we will be continuing talks with Mr. Putin. In the area of the operation are forces of the regime [of Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Trampler of Homs...
] under Russia’s protection. We will be tackling the issue with Mr. Putin," he stressed.

Moreover, Erdogan vowed that in case he fails to "reach agreements on that issue [with Russia], The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...Qatar's satrapy in Asia Minor...
will be implementing its own plans".

Turkey’s Operation Peace Spring will be continued in Syria in case Kurdish forces of the People’s Protection Units fail to withdraw from the area in Syria that Ankara has designated as ’a safe area’, Erdogan saidl.

"Today is the second day [since the operation was suspended]. The process will end on Tuesday night," Erdogan said. "In case the promises to Turkey are not fulfilled, we won’t be waiting as before. We will be going ahead with the operation and will keep on destroying terrorists," he promised.

Syrian Army enters new towns along international highway in northern Syria
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has entered several towns in the northern region of Syria today as part of their agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

According to a military source in northern Syria, the Syrian Army enters four towns in the Tal Tamr District, extending its control over a large part of the Hasakah-Aleppo Highway (M-4).

Among the sites entered by the Syrian Army was Umm al-Khayr, which was one of the towns that was bombed by the Ottoman Turkish Air Force earlier in the day, the source told al-Masdar.

The Syrian Army also entered al-Salamas, Dshisha and Granada, which are all located in the western part of the Tal Tamr District.

This move by the Syrian Army is a precautionary action to prevent the Ottoman Turkish Armed Forces from expanding their presence into the Syrian Democratic Forces’ (SDF) areas in northern Syria.

The Ottoman Turkish-backed turbans have already captured several villages near the Tal Tamr District, putting them within striking distance of the Syrian Army’s positions.

Nancy Pelosi Compares Impeachment Effort to American Revolution
[BREITBART] House Speaker Nancy San Fran Nan Pelosi
Congresswoman-for-Life from the San Francisco Bay Area, born into a family of professional politicians. On-again-off-again Speaker of the House. It's not her fault when they lose, but it's her accomplishment when they win. Noted for her heavily botoxed grimace and occasional senior... uhhh... moments...
(D-CA) on Thursday compared the Democrat-led impeachment effort to the American Revolution, telling a crowd at the Democratic National Committee’s Women’s Leadership Forum that "the times have found us."

The speaker, who ultimately caved to the far-left flank’s ceaseless calls for impeaching the president, delivered a speech at the DNC’s Women’s Leadership Forum on Thursday and essentially compared the Democrat-led impeachment effort to the American Revolution, quoting Thomas Paine.

"Now at the beginning of our country ‐ Mr. Chairman, I know you’ve heard me say this many times, so forgive me ‐ beginning of our country, Thomas Paine said this is the dark days of the Revolution. He said that times have found us," she stated, declaring that Democrats see themselves in a similar position.

"The times have found us," she continued.

"We think the times have found us now‐ you, Mr. Chairman, everyone in this room who sacrificed their time, resources, and the rest. No need to be here but to be there for our candidates so that we can make a better future," Pelosi said.

"None of us came to Congress to impeach a president. Not anybody, not anybody. That’s not what we are about," she continued. "But we did take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States from all enemies foreign and domestic"

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Father accused of killing 2 sons for insurance by driving them into water at Port of LA
[ABC7] A 44-year-old father sobbed openly in federal court Thursday as he was accused in a deadly case of insurance fraud.
Crying because he was caught, or because he hadn’t finished the job?
Defendant Ali Elmezayen
...an Egyptian immigrant who must have worked under the table...
said he had loaded his two sons, who have autism, and their mother in the family's Honda Civic to watch the boats at the Port of Los Angeles and ended up driving them off a fishing dock into the water.

The sons, 13-year old Elhassan and 8-year old Abdelkrim, drowned.

Their mother, Rehab Diab,
...another Egyptian, also an illegal immigrant...
whose marital relationship with Elmezayen is not clearly documented, was unable to swim. Fishermen rescued her.

Diab is a prosecution witness.

Federal prosecutors allege that the action was a set up that was years in the making.

Elmezayen, a low-income Egyptian immigrant, was paying $6,000 a year to insure his family, then collected $260,000.

Federal prosecutor Alexander Wyman told the jury that the defendant beat Diab and phoned her parents in Egypt, "threatening to send her home in a coffin," that he was going to "bury her alive" and that he wanted to take a second wife.

Defense attorney Christine O'Connor said that Elmezayen bought the policies to protect his family - that he had under-the-table income to pay the premiums.

Deflecting blame, the defense told jurors to look at the wife's history. Undocumented, once marrying a homeless man to get legal status - claiming that he abused her when advised that doing so would protect her from deportation.

About the defendant - the defense says he is not cunning, but rather, "kind of a kook," "complicated," but not a monster.
It’s all just fun and games until all the targets are drowned? Ooookaaayy.
Elmezayen faces a separate trial in Superior Court for the murder of his sons.
The Washington Post had an article on the subject last November:
It was all part of a scheme to collect on the millions of dollars in seven life insurance policies he had taken out on their lives. It was a plan he had been plotting for more than two years, according to prosecutors.

He was ordered detained without bail Tuesday. Prosecutors argued he poses a danger to his family, because although he and Diab separated a week after the tragedy, he is still paying premiums on her life insurance and on the insurance of his third son. The boy was away at camp on the night his siblings drowned.

Elmezayen and Diab’s story began in Egypt, where they started dating before coming to the United States on six-month visitor visas in 2000. But instead of returning, they settled down in California and had three sons together, each of them autistic. An immigration judge later ordered Elmezayen and Diab removed, but each was granted “withholding of removal,” according to the federal prosecutors.

In an attempt to remain in the country legally, Elmezayen entered into a sham marriage with an American citizen he met while working as a security guard at a Los Angeles drugstore, according to a 2006 interview he gave to immigration authorities. The sham wife lived in an alcohol treatment center, and the deal was that she would marry Elmezayen so he could get a green card as long as he continued to financially support her once he obtained it. He never did. In four years, he paid the woman $500, he told authorities. (They later divorced.)

Money never seemed to come easy for Elmezayen, who filed for bankruptcy in 2010 and had been earning less than $30,000 annually, prosecutors said. But somehow he found the money to take out seven different accidental death and life insurance policies on his family’s lives.

In total, he took out more than $6 million in policies, costing him $6,000 a year in premiums, according to prosecutors.

Diab said in a deposition in 2017 that she knew about the policies for both her and Elmezayen — but not the children. (The deposition was part of a wrongful-death lawsuit she and Elmezayen filed against Honda, Jiffy Lube and Los Angeles County. They lost.)

Twelve days after the two-year period expired on the last life insurance policy he had purchased, Elmezayen barreled down the wharf and into the ocean. In a matter of months, he collected more than $260,000 on his sons' lives, according to the affidavit. He wired $171,000, the bulk of the money, to Egypt.

Elmezayen denied having any life insurance policies on his children in interviews with police on the night of the plunge.

Ukrainian Official: Hunter Biden Appointed to Burisma’s Board to ‘Protect’ the Company
[BREITBART] A Ukrainian official is claiming that Hunter Biden was only appointed to the board of directors of Burisma Holdings to "protect" the company at a time it faced foreign scrutiny over its business practices.

Oleksandr Onyshchenko, a former member of the Ukrainian parliament and ally of Burisma’s founder, made the admission to Rooters on Friday when discussing Hunter Biden’s ties to the oil and natural gas company.

"It was to protect (the company)" Onyshchenko said, noting that Hunter Biden’s appointment came the same month that Mykola Zlochevsky, Burisma’s founder, had his assets frozen in Great Britannia under suspicion of money laundering.

The admission comes as Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden
...Failed seeker of the Democratic presidential nomination on multiple occasions, vice president under Barack Obama, giving it a last try in his dotage for 2020...
and his aides rush to downplay the notion that Hunter Biden’s business dealings may have presented conflicts of interest for the former vice president. The controversy started last month when President Donald Trump
...His ancestors didn't own any slaves...
suggested the Ukrainian government probe into how the younger Biden secured an appointment to Burisma’s board, shortly after his father was made the B.O. regime’s point man on Ukraine.

As Peter Schweizer, senior contributor at Breitbart News, detailed in his book Secret Empires: How the American Political Class Hides Corruption and Enriches Family and Friends, Hunter Biden secured the position, which paid as much as $83,000 per month despite no background in energy or Ukraine. In fact, his background in investment banking, lobbying, and hedge fund management paled in comparison to that of current and past members of the company’s board of directors.

The timing of the appointment not only raised flags among ethics watchdogs, but also with Hunter Biden’s own business partners. Christopher Heinz, the stepson of former Secretary of State John F. I was in Vietnam, you know Kerry
Former Senator-for-Life from Massachussetts, self-defined war hero, speaker of French, owner of a lucky hat, conqueror of Cambodia, unsuccessful presidential candidate, and utterly failed Secretary of State...
and co-owner of an investment firm with Hunter Biden in 2014, rushed to play damage control with State Department officials at the time of the appointment, according to internal emails obtained by the Washington Examiner.

Turkish-backed militants attack Syrian Army near border city in new bid to advance
[ALMASDARNEWS] A fierce battle broke out this afternoon between the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the Ottoman Turkish-backed turbans near the border city of Ras al-’Ayn, a source from the military told al-Masdar from the al-Hasakah Governorate.

According to the military source, the festivities broke out when the so-called "Syrian National Army", a coalition of turban groups, attempted to advance into the Syrian Arab Army-held areas in the Tal Tamr District of the al-Hasakah Governorate.

The source said the festivities were most intense near the town of al-Ahras, which is located west of Tal Tamr.

This latest battle marks the first time during the Ankara-led Operation Peace Spring that the Syrian Arab Army and Ottoman Turkish-backed turbans have clashed near the border region.

Today’s attack by the turbans will likely force the entry of the Syrian Arab Army into the battle for Ras al-’Ayn, which is where the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are currently fending off the Ottoman Turkish-led assault.

Turkey began Operation Peace Spring in northeast Syria on October 9 with the goal of setting up a "safe zone" free of the US-backed Kurdish group the People’s Protection Units (YPG), which Turkey considers a terrorist organization. Turkey also hopes to use its Syrian rebel allies to carve out areas for the 3,000,000 Syrian refugees in Turkey to resettle, which some Kurds say amounts to forced demographic change in the mixed Kurdish, Arab and Christian area.

The operation has also killed more than 200 civilians and displaced around 300,000 people.

The new Syrian Kurdish refugees are from vulnerable populations, according to the UNHCR.

"Most of the new arrivals are women, children and elderly," said Mahecic.

The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has a slightly higher figure for the number of refugees who have come in since Turkey’s intervention. In a Friday tweet, the KRG’s Joint Crisis Coordination Center said the 2,331 refugees have arrived since Tuesday. The Kurdistan Region is already hosting 226,336 Syrian refugees who fled earlier on in the eight-year-long civil war, according to the center.

NGOs are also leaving northern Syria, citing security concerns and logistical difficulties. Their exodus is making it harder to provide aid to the hundreds of thousands displaced by the fighting.

Due to the Ottoman Turkish incursion into Northern Syria, more than a dozen international NGO have left the area.

However,
we can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and applaud when they go by...
the International Committee of the Red Thingy (ICRC) confirmed to Rudaw that their office in the Hasakah province is still open, and they are still working in northeast Syria

"We have an office in Hasakah city, covering the 3 governorates of northeast Syria," said ICRC’s Spokesperson for the near and Middle East Sarah Alzawqari. "So far, we have not reduced our presence and have been adapting our response to meet urgent humanitarian needs arising from the hostilities."

ICRC also confirmed that they are still operating in the al-Hol camp for Islamic State

Boeing staff texted about 737 Max issue in 2016
[BBC] Boeing employees exchanged instant messages about issues with the automated safety system on the 737 Max as it was being certified in 2016.

In documents provided by Boeing to lawmakers, a pilot wrote that he had run into unexpected trouble during tests.

He said he had "basically lied to the regulators [unknowingly]".

The safety system has been tied to two deadly crashes that killed 346 people.

An Ethiopian Airlines 737 Max crashed only minutes after take-off from Addis Ababa in March, killing all 157 people on board.

The same type flown by the Indonesian airline Lion Air crashed into the sea only five months earlier in October 2018, shortly after taking off from Jakarta. That accident claimed the lives of 189 people

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) called the document "concerning" and said it was asking Boeing for an "immediate" explanation for the delay in turning over the documents, which Boeing provided to lawmakers ahead of hearings this month.

#1  I have no idea why anyone smart enough to be a pilot would text that he had (even unwittingly) lied to government investigators.
Posted by: M. Murcek || 10/20/2019 8:25 Comments || Top||

#2  So why did he text it and not report it? If that's the case he is culpable in the deaths. Boeing has a great ethics program that protects anyone raising a safety or ethics issue. If you file an ethics or safety violation concern your protected from firing or even layoffs. Your untouchable. I keep hearing this stuff from 3 or four years ago on this plane, why did they just text and not report???

#3  Boeing is rotten , that is the only conclusion i can arrive after what i have read about what MCAS does, no new specific simulator training for that, significant changes in equipment not put into manual.
Or is there some group sabotaging Boeing from inside or it has a severe organizational disease.
I am also shocked that shareholders continue to support that rotten culture and the CEO and the guys around him continue there.

[Zero Hedge] A 31-year-old lieutenant in the Saudi Royal Air Force said to have participated in the killing of Saudi writer Jamal Khashoggi died in a "suspicious car accident" in Riyadh, according to Turkish media.

Xi may face a coup
FTFA:
[DonSurber]
The newspaper reported, "In Beijing’s system, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) holds a monopoly on power. But the party leadership is not a monolithic group. CCP leaders span a range of political associations, socioeconomic backgrounds, professional credentials, geographic associations and policy preferences. Two broad camps in the leadership vigorously vie for influence and control in post-Deng China: the elitist coalition, with its core faction of princelings (leaders who come from veteran revolutionary families), and the populist coalition, which primarily consists of so-called tuanpai (leaders who advanced their careers through the Chinese Communist Youth League)."

Hezbollah leader expresses readiness to support current gov’t
[ALMASDARNEWS] Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah has signaled his readiness to support the current Lebanese government amid the ongoing protests in the capital Beirut.

In a televised speech on Saturday, Nasrallah said that he would back the government,“but with a new agenda and a new spirit”.

According to him, the past couple of days of protests indicated that if new taxes are introduced to resolve the political standoff, this may result in a “popular uprising”.

Nasrallah said that if the government steps down, it could take a year or two to form a new Cabinet, “and the time is short”; he added that Hezbollah doesn’t support the resignation of the government.

Turkish military chopper crashes in northern Syria
[ALMASDARNEWS] A Ottoman Turkish Army helicopter crashed during an operation in the northern region of Syria on Friday, the Ottoman Turkish Defense Ministry announced this afternoon.

According to the Defense Ministry, the Ottoman Turkish chopper crashed down near the border city of Ras al-’Ayn in Syria’s al-Hasakah Governorate.

The reason for the Ottoman Turkish Army chopper’s crash landing was due to "technical reasons"; they pointed out that it was not do to enemy fire."Technical reasons" = It couldn't fly due to being hit with lead projectiles?

The hand of “Mayo” Zambada
Proceso is Mexico's best written publication, and is one of the best written publications in the world in any language

I just hate their politics.

WASHINGTON (Proceso). - In this city, US officials and former officials have no empathy in considering the capture and release of Ovidio Guzmán López - son of Joaquín El Chapo Guzmán - as a claudication of the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador before the Sinaloa Cartel.

"The president of Mexico just made a pact with the devil, essentially tells the Sinaloa Cartel, 'You are the bosses'" says a Process Jack Riley, former chief of intelligence operations for the DEA, who devoted much part of his career chasing the Sinaloa kingpin.

Like Riley, two US Department of Justice officials in charge of cooperation with Mexico in the fight against drug trafficking question why Ovid Guzmán was released, one of the four surviving sons of the Badiraguato-born bonnet.

“We could not believe it when we received the report from our agents in Mexico. Ovid Guzmán is one of the important objectives of the bilateral efforts to dismantle what remains of the Chapo Guzmán cell , ”one of the officials comments in an interview.

In the Culiacán operation, where Guzmán López was temporarily detained, the Federal Drug Administration (DEA) was not involved, as some Mexican media pointed out, officials said.

“We learned when the fray of the gunmen of the Sinaloa Cartel began against the Mexican authorities who went to the house where the offender was. The cooperation we have with the new government is not the same as in the past, ”says the other Justice Department official, who requested anonymity, as his partner.

And he adds: “There is confusion. The Mexican press began to say that they tried to capture Ovid by our demand. False. If that had happened, we would have asked for the intervention of the Mexican Navy, which is better prepared for high-risk operations. ”

#5  Ovid Guzmán is one of the important objectives of the bilateral efforts to dismantle what remains of the Chapo Guzmán cell...

If that cell was able to shoot it out with the cops and win it sounds like "what remains" of it is quite considerable.

Mexico is a nation at war with itself. There are plenty of decent people there but, unfortunately, many evil and corrupt people as well. The argument could be made that it's our fault because our so-called war on drugs was a farce from the very start and our country provides the cartels with their most lucrative market.

My biggest fear is that the corruption has spilled over to our side of the border or, in fact, spilled over to our side of the border a long, long time ago. I can't prove that our politicians are on the take from the cartels but no one seems to be in a position to prove that they aren't. Call it paranoia or conspiracy theory or whatever you want. The question remains: Why are people like Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer so adamant about refusing to secure the border?

Peace Activists Kidnapped in Logar Now Released
[ToloNews] Six members of the People’s Peace Movement, who were kidnapped earlier this morning in Pashtun-infested Logar province, have been released, say PPM spokespeople.

The kidnapped members were traveling to a peace gathering in the Sharak area of Pul-e-Alam, Pashtun-infested Logar’s capital, according to Bismillah Watandost, a front man for the People’s Peace Movement.

Earlier, Watandost reported that the Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
was responsible, and they had taken the abductees to an ’unknown place in Pashtun-infested Logar province.’

The People’s Peace Movement started in 2018 and gained international attention when members began a march from Helmand
...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan...
to Kabul pledging to personally deliver a demand for peace to both the Afghan government and the Taliban. The movement has undertaken more marches since, and its members have been kidnapped before.

Syrian Army beats back Turkish forces near strategic border city
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Ottoman Turkish-backed Lions of Islam launched a surprise attack on the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) defenses near the Syrian-Ottoman Turkish border today in a bid to advance to the Tal Tamr District of al-Hasakah.Led by the so-called "Syrian National Army", the Ottoman Turkish-backed Lions of Islam attempted to crack the Syrian Army’s lines at northwestern Tal Tamr, despite the fact they are supposed to be adhering to a ceasefire in this border region.

However,
it was a brave man who first ate an oyster...
the Ottoman Turkish-backed Lions of Islam would eventually fall short of their plan to capture the town of Ahras, as the Syrian Arab Army was able to swiftly repel the attempted advance by these forces loyal to Ankara.

A source from the Syrian Arab Army told al-Masdar News that the military will likely beef up their defenses around Tal Tamr in order to prevent a similar attack in the future.

Lastly, he added that if the Lions of Islam attack again, the Syrian Army will likely have no choice but to get involved in the Ras al-’Ayn battle and drive back these Ottoman Turkish-backed forces.
