The incumbent Massachusetts senator spoke at her second debate against Republican state Rep. Geoff Diehl in the U.S. Senate race.
She was asked by a moderator why she had said, in March, that no DNA test was needed to prove she had some Native American heritage. She said she ultimately took the test, reporting the result last week that showed a relative six to 10 generations ago was Native American.
Ultimately, she said, she took a DNA test because she believes one way to rebuild trust in government is by posting her full family history online "so anybody can take a look. ... I believe one way that we try to rebuild confidence is through transparency." The problem is, I don't know where to look to see who has weasel DNA in the mix.

[FOX] An 18-year-old man wanted in the murder of a Georgia cop was shot and killed by police Monday after they encountered him holding a lawnmower blade in a shed, police said, ending a massive manhunt two days after the 30-year-old officer was murdered.
Authorities located Tafahree Maynard on Monday morning after officers began investigating a tip the suspect was spotted in the Snellville area within the last 12 hours. Officers encountered Maynard in a shed and he "failed to comply" with verbal commands, Police Chief Butch Ayers said in a news conference on Monday.
An officer reportedly deployed a Taser and found Maynard was holding a lawnmower blade behind his back, leading to a second cop firing his gun. Maynard was pronounced dead at the scene.
[Zero via Tea Party] ‐ A Washington federal judge on Thursday ordered special counsel Robert Mueller’s team to clarify election meddling claims lodged against a Russian company operated by Yevgeny Prigozhin, an ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to Bloomberg.
Concord Management and Consulting, LLC. ‐ one of three businesses indicted by Mueller in February along with 13 individuals for election meddling, surprised the special counsel in April when they actually showed up in court to fight the charges. Concord was accused in the indictment of supporting the Internet Research Agency (IRA), a Russian ’troll farm’ accused of trying to influence the 2016 US election.
On Thursday, Judge Freidrich asked Mueller’s prosecutors if she should assume they aren’t accusing Concord of violating US laws applicable to election expenditures and failure to register as a foreign agent.

"We have completed the construction of a training camp, thank you for all and may Allah accept from you my dear brothers and sisters, we have done it together, with your help and donations my brothers," he tweeted.
The new fundraising drive for equipment includes a desire to purchase airsoft guns to use in training exercises. The group has encouraged the use of Bitcoin for donations.
Malhama Tactical, referred to as Blackwater for jihadists, offers trainers who hail from Russia's Caucasus region and the former Soviet states. Excerpts of training videos are frequently posted online.
Their contracting clients have included Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham, the umbrella group known as al-Qaeda in Syria that includes the former al-Nusra Front. Then-leader Abu Rofiq, an Uzbek who said he was a veteran of the Russian military, told Foreign Policy magazine last year that territorial setbacks for jihadist groups didn't dampen their business demand, yet they were also considering new regions to branch out their business.
Malhama Tactical launched in May 2016 and by the end of that year was advertising on Facebook for trainers to come join their "fun and friendly team" with vacation allowance and a day off per week. The group also manufactures and supplies certain equipment to jihadist groups.
After the death of Abu Rofiq last year the business dropped off the radar for a bit, but resurfaced online late this past spring. Firearms analysts noted that new footage from the group featured more Glock 19s, red dot sights, and American weapons that have fallen into unintended hands.
Abu Salman Belarus, who joined Malhama Tactical in 2016, said in an interview published a month ago that his group is "primarily instructing insurgents in battle tactics, giving medical aid, working with armored vehicles, mortars, sniper activity, and weapons modifications."
"We do not engage ourselves in teaching how to conduct terrorist attacks or killing peaceful civilians, however," he claimed. "We have never worked and will not work against civilians, regardless of their nationalities or religions." Riiiiiiiiiiight..
He boasted that while Malhama Tactical trainers bring lots of former military experience to the outfit, "quite a few of our students have become instructors, already working independently in different places."
"We don't accept all units, we take former soldiers or talented and purpose-driven people, so that they would be motivated and follow our visions and goals," said Abu Salman, who added that "we don't only accept Russian speakers."
In August, he tweeted "we stand with" Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham; two weeks later he tweeted "we are independent instructor team and not part of #HTS."
At the beginning of this month, Abu Salman tweeted a poll asking the main language of his followers. Forty-one percent said Turkish, 38 percent said English and 19 percent said Russian. Interesting on the number of Turkish speakers. Middle Eastern version of the School of the Americas?
[Right Scoop] Well this is terrible news. Mexican officials were unable to stop the migrant caravan from Honduras and they’re instead helping them out now. And it’s way bigger now.

Outside Tapachula, about 500 black-uniformed officers briefly gathered along the highway on buses and in patrol units, but they said their orders were to maintain traffic and not to stop the caravan. As the migrants passed through villages on the outskirts of Ciudad Hidalgo, locals applauded, shouted encouragement and donated supplies.

Mexico’s Interior Department said in a statement that federal and Chiapas state authorities were providing assistance to migrants, including legal counseling for those who applied for asylum. It released a video showing workers doling out food, medicine and medical treatment.
Yah, that’s bad. Especially after it seemed that Mexico was willing to work on behalf of the U.S. to stop the caravan. This is a yuge mistake and it’s stupid to think Trump won’t take retaliatory action.

It was not immediately clear where the additional travelers came from since about 2,000 had been gathered on the Mexican side Saturday night. But people have been joining and leaving the caravan daily, some moving at their own pace and strung out in a series of columns.
I know it’s popular to believe on the right that these people are being paid off by Soros, but I think that is unlikely. They are getting support from Mexican citizens along the way who probably feel bad for them:

Has there ever been a clearer argument for a border wall?
Tax remittances by 75% or 90% or whatever the communists typically tax their people and use the money to build a wall. A big beautiful wall similar to the Great Wall of China. Make it a tourist attraction visible from space that can stand for centuries as a marker of Democrat shenanigans and their results.
The hefty tax will discourage folks from coming and in fact will encourage folks to leave and pay money to their family in person and as a bonus it'll take out a third of the Mexican economy in one shot for backstabbing the US again and again on this issue.

The inflatable colon was swiped from a parked pickup truck. It's valued at $4,000.
"Colon cancer is a tough subject for many to talk about and the giant, 150 pound, 10-foot long inflatable colon is a great conversation starter," said John Ashcraft, a surgical oncologist at The University of Kansas Cancer Center.
The inflatable colon is owned by the Cancer Coalition, which hosts walk/run events under a campaign called "Get Your Rear In Gear."

If we were to send financial aid, the nation so benefiting should become a US territory with the US in total control over everything McArthur like until things are cleaned up and the nation can stand on its own.

Calls for Hill to end his defense of the state’s abortion law come in reaction to his Monday request for the U.S. Supreme Court to reverse a block on a 2016 law passed by then-Gov. Mike Pence. The law requires abortion clinics and facilities that provide abortions to bury or cremate aborted babies rather than dispose of them as medical waste.
"Nothing in the Constitution prohibits states from requiring health facilities to provide an element of basic human dignity in disposing of fetuses," Hill said in a statement, The Chicago Tribune reported Sunday.

[FOX] If North Dakota residents vote to next month to legalize recreational marijuana, women in the state could be able to purchase an unusual item that’s said relieve menstrual-related pain: cannabis-infused inserts. Perhaps this will help end dangerous texting and driving.
A company called Foria, which makes cannabis-infused inserts, or vaginal suppositories, could sell the product in the state if the measure passes, KVLY-TV reported.
One Park River resident, Stephanie Carlson, told the new station she’d be willing to try the product, noting that she'd be the "first in line" to purchase it.
"I just want to be able to have that one week a month to not be hunkered down in pain. I want to be functional," Carlson said.
Foria, which, according to KVLY-News, already sells its products in states such as Colorado and California where recreational marijuana has been legalized, says on its website that the vaginal suppositories are "specifically formulated for relief from menstrual discomfort."
The product, called "Foria Relief," "delivers the soothing benefits of full-spectrum cannabis directly to the area that needs it most ‐ typically with little or no psychoactive effects," the company added.

[Washington Examiner] U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Smiley was wounded in an attack that took place in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan on Thursday.
Navy Cmdr. Grant Neeley, a spokesperson for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization-led Resolute Support mission, confirmed to CNN on Sunday that Smiley had received at least one gunshot wound.
Smiley, who oversees NATO military advisory mission in southern Afghanistan, still maintains charge of his command following the attack, for which the Taliban has claimed responsibility.
The NATO-led coalition had previously identified two Americans wounded in the attack as a military service member and a civilian government employee. The police chief of the Kandahar province and another Afghan official were killed in the attack.
On Saturday, Gen. Joseph Votel told the Associated Press that the U.S. was "pretty confident that the Afghans will be able to maintain the situation down" in Kandahar.
"My assessment is the Afghans are resilient to this," Votel said. "I don't consider it to be something that will change the security situation."
The attack came just before Saturday's parliamentary elections in the region. The Taliban have pledged to disrupt the electoral process, alleging that the elections ‐ already three years overdue ‐ are a being manipulated by the U.S.
[Washington Examiner] President Trump said Saturday he plans to roll out a major tax cut to the middle class before November.
"We are looking at putting in a very major tax cut for middle-income people. And if we do that it'll be sometime just prior, I would say, to November," Trump told reporters after his rally in Nevada Saturday. "We are studying very deeply right now round the clock a major tax cut for middle income people."
Trump has taken criticism from Democrats for his tax cuts, which they claim only help large corporations and the top 1 percent. But Trump said the tax cuts he is looking to implement soon would not be related to businesses whatsoever.
"Kevin Brady is working on it, Paul Ryan is working on it," said Trump. "I would say sometime around the first of November, maybe a little before then."

Two can play the "invasion of Mexico" game. Since Mexico seems unconcerned about the southern invasion, Trump should announce that a "buffer zone" will be established 10 miles into Mexico along the entire border and send the Army in wherever the "caravan" goes. Both men deny the charges.
Hadashot news reported that the man who had been kidnapped was wanted by the Paleostinians for selling an Arab property in Jerusalem’s Old City to Jewish investors.

The patrol (team) killed two intruders and recovered war-like stores including two AK-47 rifles," an Army front man was quoted as saying by PTI.
He said three soldiers were killed while fighting the intruders and another soldier suffered grievous injuries and has been admitted to the Army Command hospital in Udhampur. The injured soldier’s condition is reported to be stable, the front man said.

[SunStar] The Abu Sayyaf released on Wednesday evening one of their kidnap victims after the captive's family paid P1.2 million in ransom. Authorities said the group released Rufo Roda to a man who allegedly took part in the negotiation in downtown Jolo, Sulu.
Roda, a militiaman, was abducted in Piacan, a coastal village in the town of Sirawai, Zamboanga del Norte, along with his wife.
A group of five Abu Sayyaf rebels seized the couple following a clash on the evening of August 31. The clash resulted ub the death of five people and left a child injured.
The family of the victim allegedly paid P1.2 million worth of ransom money for the release of the couple but the bandits refused to free Ronda’s wife.

[ALMASDARNEWS] A Syrian rebel fighter brutally executed his sister after learning that she had had sex with a Ottoman Turkish Army officer in northern Syria.
According to Muraselon website, Bashar Bseis, a Lion of Islam fighting for a Ottoman Turkish-backed rebel group in northern Syria found out that his sister, Rasha, was involved in a sexual relationship with an officer from the Ottoman Turkish military.
Bashar’s discovery was made after Rasha’s nude photos went viral on social media.
The incident is classified in Islamic and Middle Eastern countries as ’Shame Killing’ where the perpetrator believes that the victim has brought shame or dishonor upon the family, or has violated the principles of a community or a religion.

[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The dead bodies of at least four people have been found in Mazar Sharif city, the lovely provincial capital of northern Balkh province of Afghanistan.
The local officials confirm that four individuals were killed after they were kidnapped from Nahr Shahi district on Saturday.
A front man for the provincial Security Commandment Sher Jan Durani confirmed that the dead bodies of four people have been found in the city but did not elaborate further.
In the meantime, a security source says the slain individuals were observers of a parliamentary candidate who were kidnapped and killed by the murderous Moslems.
The source further added that the election observers were kidnapped by the turbans from Afghania Mina area of Nahr Shahi district late on Saturday evening.
According to the official, the observers were killed shortly after the kidnapping and their dead bodies were shifted to Mazar Sharif city.

"We don't know, in terms of details, how. We don't know where the body is," Jubeir said, adding that the Saudi public prosecutor had put out orders to detain 18 individuals, "the first step in a long journey."
He termed the killing a "tremendous mistake" but one which the US-Saudi relationship would eventually overcome.
"The individuals who did this did this outside the scope of their authority. There obviously was a tremendous mistake made, and what compounded the mistake was the attempt to try to cover up," Jubeir told Fox News.
"That is unacceptable in any government. These things unfortunately happen. We want to make sure that those who are responsible are punished and we want to make sure we have procedures in place to prevent it from happening again. "

On the day Khashoggi disappeared, Cengiz waited for hours outside the consulate for him and, when he did not return, got in touch with authorities as he had instructed her to do, she later said.
After Saudi Arabia confirmed his death, she wrote on Twitter in Arabic: "They have taken your body from this world, but your beautiful smile will stay in my world forever."

Anbar (IraqiNews.com) – Iraqi authorities announced on Saturday the murder of four Islamic State militants during a clampdown in the ancient city of Hit in Anbar province.
“Al-Jazeera forces managed during a preemptive security operation to kill four terrorists inside a cave in western Hit,” the Dijlah TV channel quoted the Iraqi Security Media Center as saying in a statement.
According to the statement, the security forces launched a manhunt in Hit district in search of other IS terrorists.
Anbar (IraqiNews.com) – Security forces found on Sunday bodies of eight Islamic State militants believed to be killed by the terrorist group’s chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, Iraqi authorities said.
“The bodies were found shot in the head in the area between Haditha and Hit districts in Anbar,” security sources told Shafaq News website.
The sources noted that the militants are believed to be on the hit list issued by al-Baghdadi two weeks ago.
Iraqi intelligence reports earlier claimed that Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi issued an order to kill hundreds of his followers, including leading figures, in Iraq and Syria over their disloyalty to the group.
The reports came at a critical time as the extremist group lost about 90% of the territory it controlled in Iraq and Syria in 2014, when it declared its “caliphate”.
Intelligence sources said that the world’s most wanted man “issued an order to kill 320 of his followers for their betrayal of the so-called Islamic State and their recklessness, a matter which inflicted heavy losses on the group in both Iraq and Syria.”
According to the sources, there are high-profile commanders on Baghdadi’s list, including Abu al-Baraa al-Ansari, Sief al-Din al-Iraqi, Abu Otham al-Tal Afari, Abu Iman al-Mowahed and Marawan Hadid al-Suri.

[AAWSAT] UK Newcastle Crown Court sentenced a Syrian civil engineer for sharing terrorism videos on Facebook. Jurors found the 32-year-old guilty of six counts of sharing terrorist material.
Abdulrahman al-Charbati received multiple warnings from Facebook for violating user laws by sharing murderous Moslem videos related to the conflict in Syria, which he repeatedly posted on his page. Later on, his page was reported and permanently blocked.
Despite the bans, the 32-year-old married father posted six "terrorist publications" on his profile, which had 5,000 "friends", in the course of one day in February last year.
Prosecutors said the videos, which show men in military uniform being murdered, others praising "deaders" and promoting suicide kabooms, could "encourage the watcher to commit acts of terrorism".
After counter-terrorism police raided his home at Noble Street, Sunderland, officers seized his phone and found a bomb-making manual titled "Easy Explosives".
The shocking, 120-page document contained advice for bomb-makers, which included handling their device "gently and softly", like a "creature", while it is being manufactured.
Al-Charbati told police "I just posted the news" and has been on trial accused of six offenses of dissemination of a terrorist publication and one of possession of a document containing terrorist information.

[OUTLINE] The Security guards aboard a Hong Kong-flagged fat merchantman repelled an attack by pirates in a shootout off Somalia’s coast this week, the European naval force in the region said on Friday.
It was only the second reported attempt by Somali pirates to seize a commercial ship this year, after a resurgence of attacks in 2017 following years of relative calm brought about by regular patrols of the European Union ...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing... Naval Force (EUNAVOR).
On Tuesday, pirates approached and shot up the Hong Kong-flagged MV KSL freighter 340 nautical miles off Somalia, but private security guards aboard the ship acted quickly to foil the attack, EUNAVOR said in a statement.
"Due to the application of BMP [best management practices] protection measures by the master, his crew and the private security team, the piracy attack was thwarted and the crew and vessel remained safe," it said.
"There was a sustained exchange of fire before the skiff with several armed people on board broke off and changed course away from the MV," it added. Guards had already moved the crew to safe locations before the shooting erupted.
The last reported attack off Somalia’s coast was in February when guards aboard a Singaporean-flagged chemical tanker repulsed pirates who had shot at it.
Pirates once plagued the Indian Ocean shipping lanes off the Horn of Africa, with the peak year in 2011 when 237 attacks were reported and hundreds of hostages taken by pirates to be exchanged for ransom, according to maritime data.
Attacks dramatically subsided after several foreign navies, including from the EU and China, began regular anti-piracy patrols in the area.

Israel reopened the crossings into the Gazoo Strip on Sunday morning, allowing people and goods in and out of the coastal enclave, following a decrease in the amount of violence along the border
Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman’s office said the decision was made in consultation with officials from the Israel Defense Forces, the Shin Bet security service and the liaison unit to the Paleostinians, known as the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories.
The defense minister’s office said a decision had yet to be made about allowing a supply of fuel that was purchased by Qatar into the coastal enclave.

A Pak Moslem cab driver was indicted for beating an identifiably Orthodox Jewish man at an intersection, and charged with a hate crime.
A grand jury indicted Farrukh Afzal on Friday and included the hate crime charge, after it was presented by the District Attorney’s Office, the local ABC affiliate WABC reported. The NYPD recommended Farrukh be charged with a hate crime, and the District Attorney’s office initially declined those charges, according to the report.
Afzal originally was charged with attempted assault in the second degree, assault in the third degree, menacing and harassment, but not with a hate crime since prosecutors believed it to be a case of road rage after being told that Afzal thought the victim was an Orthodox Jewish man who had stepped in front of his car earlier in the day. A second Orthodox man attempted to assist the victim and bravely ran away while being chased by Afzal.
The victim, Rabbi Lipa Schwartz, 62, claims that Afzal shouted "Allah, Allah," said he wanted to "kill all Jews," and made references to Israel throughout the October 14 attack, which happened as Schwartz walked to synagogue for morning services. Afzal’s wife told the New York Daily News that her husband is schizophrenic and was acting out because he did not take his medication.
Afzal reportedly has an extensive police record of violent assaults, including eight previous arrests.

The attack took place at about 7:30 a.m. in the Borough Park neighborhood. Schwartz, a Hasidic Jew, was on his way to morning services and was standing at an intersection, when Afzal stopped his car suddenly, rushed at him and began to beat him, according to surveillance footage from the scene.
Schwartz managed to get away when another man approached the pair and Afzal turned to attack the newcomer. Afzal was then restrained at the scene by passersby, while police were called.
Afzal, who locals said drives for a car service, is not licensed by the city’s Taxi and Limousine Commission and has been summonsed in the past for being an unlicensed operator, a TLC spokeswoman said.

Unlike other navy officials who served Francis ‐ nicknamed "Fat Leonard" ‐ and his Glenn Defence Marine Asia contracting company, Amundson did not accept cash. But he had a good time on Francis’ dime: lavish meals, parties, hotel stays and hookers.
He has agreed to pay US$21,625 in restitution ‐ an amount Amundson says stems from a night at a casino ‐ and a US$10,000 fine.
From 2008 to 2012 Amundson was based in Singapore as a Cooperation Afloat and Readiness Training, or CARAT, exercise officer and theatre engagement manager for the commander, Logistics Group Pacific. The role had him leading exercises with other nations.
Amundson said he was suspicious of GDMA’s seemingly excessive billing and did not deal with Francis. GDMA provided husbanding services to visiting war ships, from rubbish removal to water to security.

The US-led coalition is fighting the remnants of Islamic State group near the frontier between Syria and Iraq. With air power and special forces on the ground, it backs the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), a Kurdish-led alliance of militias.
Various rival offensives have crushed Islamic State group in most of the territory it controlled in both countries, though fighters still operate in the desert near the border and stage attacks.

When the other 19 hijackers perpetrated the attacks of September 11, Khashoggi wrote that the Saudis would not "give in" to American "demands" for "unconditional condemnation" and "total cooperation".
"Saudis tend to link the ugliness of what happened in New York and Washington with what has happened and continues to happen in Palestine. It is time that the United States comes to understand the effect of its foreign policy and the consequences of that policy," he declared.

Such an excuse may satisfy the immediate requirements of news-agency reporting, but is almost certainly incomplete, and worryingly so. Flight QFZ9975 set off alarm bells for Western intelligence agencies. The Boeing 747 aircraft of the Iranian cargo airline Fars Air Qeshm has been operating for months in the service of arms shipments from Tehran to Syria, but this time it made an unusual stop in Beirut. Fox news reported on Friday that the aircraft delivered GPS components to Hezbollah that would make their unguided rockets into precision-guided missiles.
The 27-year-old plane, under the registration EP-FAB, took off Tuesday morning from Tehran to Damascus as flight QFZ9950 and landed in Syria just before 11am. About two hours later, in a rather unusual change, the plane took off as flight QFZ9975 directly to Beirut airport, where it landed shortly after 2pm.

The plane has worked extensively in the past to transport equipment and weapons from the Revolutionary Guards under civilian guise, mainly to Assad's army. It entered the Iranian fleet in September 2017 after an extensive service life with companies from Japan, Georgia, Afghanistan, Armenia and Russia.
Last month, suspicions surfaced that Iran used the Boeing 747 to deliver advanced weapons to Syria. The reports came in the aftermath of the assault on the Damascus airport, attributed to Israel. This plane was documented at the time when it landed at Damascus International Airport.
Last month, it was also reported that two aircraft belonging to the Iranian airline "carried out unconventional flight routes." The first flight was by a Boeing 747, which took off on July 9 from a military base in Tehran, made a brief interlude at the Damascus International Airport, and then continued to Beirut International Airport.
The second flight took off on August 2 from Tehran and landed in Beirut about two hours before the scheduled landing, in what appeared to be "an unusual route through northern Syria."
"The Iranians are trying to find new ways to smuggle weapons to their allies in the Middle East," said an unnamed Middle Eastern intelligence source, adding that "they are exploring the West's ability to locate and define smuggling."
According to Fox News, the Iranian airline stopped operations in 2013 due to administrative failures, but became active once more last March. The company's board of directors includes three representatives from the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.
Last month. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed in his speech at the UN General Assembly that "in Leb, Iran is directing Hezbollah to build secret sites to convert inaccurate projectiles into precision-guided missiles. Missiles that can target deep inside Israel within an accuracy of ten meters."
Netanyahu addressed the Shiite terror organization and said: "Hezbollah is deliberately using the innocent people of Beirut as human shields. They’ve placed three of these missile conversion sites along Beirut’s international airport."
Netanyahu presented world leaders with a picture of the airport and said: "Here’s Beirut’s international airport. Here’s the first missile site. It’s in the Uzai neighborhood, on the water's edge, a few blocks away from the runway. Here’s the second site. It’s underneath a soccer stadium, two blocks away. And here’s the third site. It’s adjacent to the airport itself, right next to it. So I have a message for Hezbollah today: Israel knows, Israel also knows what you’re doing. Israel knows where you’re doing it. And Israel will not let you get away with it."

Taken together, both migrations ratchet up the number of the displaced to 7 million in the city of Bloody Karachi ...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous... , now known as the biggest Pashtun city in the world.
Sindh was the first province to be deluged with refugees. It was created with the help of migrants colonists from Gujarat ...where rioting seems to be a traditional passtime... , India, who created the port of Karachi and populated the four big cities while the native Sindhis remained in the countryside. In 1947, when the Hindus were forced to leave, four big cities of Sindh lost their majority populations. It was presumed that the Sindhis would move into them and thus climb the sociological ladder they had missed in the past. But the Moslem refugees moved in from India and took the place of the Hindus who had left. The rural Sindhis got left out of the first capital of Pakistain, Karachi.
When it became the capital of Pakistain, Karachi’s population was about 4,50,000. It grew to one million in 1951. From then onwards, the rate of growth was a blinding 80 per cent, making it 60 times the 1947 size; and the recent census in 2017 has notched it up to 22 million, according to estimates that reject the official count. In this growth, the Sindhi has not advanced but the immigrants colonists have. Pakistain’s tribal areas were deliberately left out of normal development "to safeguard their tribal code and way of life" till the mountains where they lived couldn’t hold them. Internal migration of the tribal Pashtun faced a race for survival that hit not only Balochistan and Sindh, but also the Gulf countries.
Karachi has, according to the community leaders and social scientists, over 1.6 million Bengalis and up to 4,00,000 Rohingyas, too. These groups came after the 1979 invasion of Afghanistan by the Soviet Union, but the Rohingyas were brought in to fight the covert jihad in Afghanistan with American-Saudi money. The sappers who destroyed the great Buddha statues of Bamiyan ...a place in Afghanistan that used to have some historically interesting statues of the Buddha carved into a mountainside. Then the holy men showed up and now all they have is some big holes... , they say, included Bangladeshis and Rohingyas. Some Indonesian mujahideen went back from Karachi to create disorder at home. The covert jihad caused millions of Afghans to flee into Pakistain and Pakistain had to look after them with UN funds.

[DAWN] A medical examination of minor domestic worker Kinza has confirmed that she has suffered torture allegedly by her employers, Major Ammara Riaz and Dr Mohsin Riaz, who the police say are on the run as a case has been registered against the couple, DawnNewsTV reported on Sunday.
According to the medical report released by Benazir Bhutto ... 11th Prime Minister of Pakistain in two non-consecutive terms from 1988 until 1990 and 1993 until 1996. She was the daughter of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, founder of the Pakistain People's Party, who was murdered at the instigation of General Ayub Khan. She was murdered in her turn by person or persons unknown while campaigning in late 2007. Suspects include, to note just a few, Baitullah Mehsud, General Pervez Musharraf, the ISI, al-Qaeda in Pakistain, and her husband, Asif Ali Zardari, who shows remarkably little curiosity about who done her in... Hospital, Rawalpindi, an examination was done to investigate the extent of the injuries suffered by the 11-year-old house servant.
Results from the ultrasound revealed that there were swelling and tenderness in Kinza's abdominal region and her chest and ribcage are also tender to the touch.
Kinza's left shoulder and left arm were tender and "not moving on their own", as reported by the medical-legal officer (MLO) in the report. Moreover, her neck had multiple old wound marks determined to be caused by fingernails; no bruises or swelling, however, were observed, the report read.
The report further stated that she had a mark on her right cheek and her right eye had slight damage to the cornea. Kinza's head also has a deep cut on her left side which is "bleeding actively" according to the MLO's report.
The findings mentioned above are all consistent with Kinza's account of the torture which she reported in a video that surfaced on Twitter on Saturday. The report confirms that there is evidence of torture carried out 15-20 days ago using "knife, belts and persons standing on her straight with full weight multiple times".

From there, they board a bus for the Rafah border crossing to Egypt, about 20 minutes away.
Since mid-May, after five long years in which the frontier was largely closed, Egyptian authorities have opened the crossing several days a week.
About 200 people make the trip in a day, a small number compared to the nearly two million people crammed into Gazoo.
Inside the gymnasium, many travelers reluctantly admit having paid between $1,500 and $2,000 for what they call "coordination" to travel.
Hamas interior ministry front man Iyad al-Bozum denied that Paleostinian border officials took payments.
"But some citizens can get in touch with officials on the Egyptian side of the crossing and make it easier for them to leave," he said.
Bozum said there is currently a list of thousands of Gazooks waiting to exit the Strip, who are notified online when their turn comes.
Since Islamist president Mohammed Morsi was tossed in 2013 and his Hamas-backed Moslem Brüderbund movement quashed, Egypt has kept its Gazoo border largely closed.

Under Morsi, he said, "every day, 30 buses crossed the border, it was about 1,800 people."
Nowadays, he said, "those who leave do not come back, they emigrate."

Such is the dream of an architecture student who gave his name only as Khalil.
He wants to go back to Germany, where he was born but never obtained citizenship.
"One way, no return," he said. "Abroad it’s different... someone creative can succeed."
Two of his friends have already left, he said, calculating the cost for himself at more than $3,000, including at least $2,000 to get across the Rafah border.
At the departure point the bus starts its engine to a cacophony of farewells.
"On the Egyptian side, if all goes well, you wait for around six hours. Otherwise you spend the night there and sleep at the border post," said Derby, the medical student.
The forced overnight stay is because of Sinai curfew regulations preventing travel at night, an Egyptian border official told AFP.
The remaining trip to Cairo is a long one, because of repeated stops at security checkpoints.
"Before 2007 I used to arrive in Cairo in six hours; now it takes at least 48 hours," said Hosam al-Ajuri, 35, heading to complete his history studies in Egypt.

Nineveh (IraqiNews.com) – As many as 10 members of Islamic State were arrested Saturday during a security operation in Mosul city, the Iraqi Security Media Center said.
“During a security campaign to arrest the wanted persons in Nineveh province, security forces apprehended 10 militants belonging to IS group in the eastern side of Mosul,” the Iraqi Alghad Press website quoted the center’s spokesman Maj. Gen. Saad Maan as saying.

According to Fox News, Iran has reportedly stepped up its shipments of advanced weapons to Hezbollah in Leb. One of the shipments arrived in Leb last week, transporting GPS components to make unguided rockets into precision-guided missiles, thereby increasing the threat to Israel.
In addition, according to the report, which cited American and Western intelligence sources, an Iranian cargo plane reportedly took off from the Tehran International Airport last Tuesday at 9:33am, flying to an unknown destination. Yadlin, head of the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), said in response to the report that "the Iranians were severely beaten on May 10. Second, Israel can do what it has been doing for the past 12 years. Between 2006 and 2018, Israel did not act against Hezbollah's buildup, and therefore the organization is much stronger today than it was in 2006. This is a serious dilemma, which will be raised in the Security Cabinet meeting."
Can Israel strategically allow Hezbollah to continue its military buildup?
"If Israel does not do anything, Hassan Nasrallah's organization will turn its Order of battle of its statistical Missiles and rockets into precision missiles. The price will be paid in war."
Do you think this is a mistake? Because we know their arsenal is very big.
"True, their arsenal is large, but as long as they don't have precision missiles, it is a terrorist weapon factory‐ it cannot attack important our power centers Israel, intelligence bases, air force bases, the Kirya base, or power stations. This week marks the first releases of prisoners supervised by the ICRC following the signing of the latest peace agreement in which parties to the conflict agreed to free detainees.
The ICRC statement, a copy of which was obtained by Asharq al-Awsat, confirmed the release of the war captives to be the first batch since the agreement signing on September 12. However, there is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened... the organization refused to release the names of those released.
UN charges facing the SPLA-IO included killings, rape, slavery, forced recruitment, destruction of more than 28 villages and the targeting of civilians.
The UN said that other than kidnapping 900 people, the rebel movement forced more than 2,000 people to flee their homes between April and August.

[PowerLine] I was asked by our local chapter of the Cardozo Society — an affinity group of Jewish lawyers of which I am a member — to speak over lunch as a counterpart to ABA Foundation Fellow and historian Victoria Saker Woeste on the subject of fake news at the society’s October 8 continuing legal education program. Ms. Woeste was the featured speaker. Her theme was that the term “fake news” is anti-Semitic in origin and that President Trump’s use of it, knowingly or not, is wrongful. Her talk expanded on her Washington Post column (accessible via Outline here) making this argument.
Following her presentation I noted that the theme of “fake news” had originally been introduced after the election by Democrats who used it to describe stories representing Russian interference in the election. The term was used as a gibe against Trump, I noted, and he had simply appropriated it and made it his own. I reviewed two case studies in fake news that are familiar to Power Line readers, Rathergate and the smearing of Cleta Mitchell. [Al Jazeera] Protests have erupted in India-administered Kashmire after six non-combatants were killed when an unwent kaboom! shell went off at the site of a shootout in the southern district of Kulgam, officials said.
Senior superintendent of police in Kulgam, Harmeet Singh, told Al Jazeera on Sunday that the forces had laid a midnight cordon around a dozen houses in Laroo village of the district on a specific information about the presence of rebels.
"By morning, three holy warriors were killed who were hiding in one of the houses. There was an exchange of gunfire and grenades from both sides," the official said.
The official said the rebels were locals and belonged to the south Kashmire villages of Shopian, Kulgam and Anantnag.
"When the fight was over, the forces cleared the area and left. There was stone-throwing from all sides by the people even during the encounter. Despite requests not to visit the site, locals approached the shootout site and a shell went kaboom!," he said.
Deputy commissioner of the district, Shamim Ahmad, told Al Jazeera that six civilians died in the blast and 30 others were maimed, some of them in the festivities.
"The situation is under control and curfew has been imposed. Phone and internet services have been suspended," the official said.

The situation in Raqqa, which is controlled by the US-led coalition, remains tense.
According to the United Nations ...a formerly good idea gone bad... assessment mission, 80% of buildings in Raqqa are either ruined or damaged, with dead bodies staying under the debris. People are dying because the city has not been cleared of mines. The city is cut of electricity and water supplies. Schools and hospitals are closed.

The rebels have killed hundreds of civilians in recent years and are just one of several rebel groups active in the DRC's far northeast.
Child kidnappings for ransom are a relatively new phenomenon in the North Kivu region, where Beni is located, making exact figures on the issue difficult to find.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham and the Turkestan Islamic Party transported chemical weapons to the Jisr al-Shughour countryside, the Sputnik News Agency reported.
Citing informed sources, the Sputnik report claimed that the jihadist rebels transported "chlorine and sarin gases" from the town of Ma’arat Masrin to the Jisr al-Shughour in western Idlib.
The report did not state how the sources came across this information; however, similar allegations have been made over the last few months.
The Syrian Arab Army does have many spies currently operating inside the Idlib Governorate, as they often post videos behind enemy lines via social media.
Furthermore, the Syrian Army is believed to have many operatives currently embedded inside the command centers for the jihadist rebels; this was revealed during the East Ghouta operation.

[DAWN] KARACHI: A rickshaw driver suffered serious burns on Saturday after he set himself on fire near the city police office in Saddar in protest against the alleged extortion by traffic police.
Khalid sprinkled oil on his body and set himself alight, saying he was ’fed up’ with daily challan ... list of charges ... and alleged ’extortion’ by the traffic police.
In his statement being shared on social media, Khalid alleged that ASI Mohammed Hanif had been extracting Rs100 from him daily. He gave the policeman Rs50 on Saturday, but the latter insisted on Rs100 and on refusal the ASI handed him a challan.
The rickshaw driver was admitted to the Burns Centre of Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital for treatment.
Sindh IGP Dr Syed Kaleem Imam took notice of the incident. He ordered the DIG traffic to conduct an inquiry into the matter and submit a report to him.
