Trump says Attorney General Jeff Sessions resigns
[CNBC] Attorney General Jeff Sessions is leaving the Trump administration after more than a year of public criticism from his boss, President Donald Trump.

The 71-year-old Sessions departs after the president repeatedly hammered him about his decision last year to recuse himself from the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election and whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Kremlin. Trump says that moment opened the door to special counsel Robert Mueller's probe, which the president has repeatedly called a "witch hunt."

Sessions's chief of staff Matthew Whitaker will serve as acting attorney general, Trump announced. Whitaker also will assume oversight of the ongoing investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, and possible collusion by Trump's campaign in that meddling.
Mr. Sessions’ very classy resignation letter can be seen at the link.

#6  Some Democrats are theatening an investigation. Judiciary Committee ranking member Rep. Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., revealed plans for House Democrats to investigate and impeach Justice Brett Kavanaugh for alleged perjury and investigate and impeach President Donald Trump for alleged treasonous collusion with Russia. Elizabeth WArren: Trump's firing of Jeff Sessions brings us one step closer to a constitutional crisis. Congress must act to ensure that Special Counsel Mueller can do his job without interference. When he was nominated she said, "I’m deeply disappointed that the Senate voted to confirm Jeff Sessions as Attorney General tonight". Jeff Nadler in 2016:
"Good morning. In case anyone forgot, Jeff Sessions must resign as AG. He cannot possibly lead DOJ to promote trust & rule of law."Nadler today: "Americans must have answers immediately as to the reasoning behind @realDonaldTrump removing Jeff Sessions from @TheJusticeDept. Why is the President making this change and who has authority over Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation? We will be holding people accountable."

#7  First off he was not fired, he resigned. Secondly he recused himself from the mueller special council so I am unsure what that has to do with impacteing the special council when he had nothing to do with it. Maybe he will go on talk shows and be the first to explain what crime was committed that warranted a special council in the first place.

Illegal Migrants Boast of Aiding Democrats' Campaigns
[Breitbart] The Democrats’ 2018 election campaign is being aided by illegal immigrants, including the younger migrants who received the quasi-legal DACA amnesty from President Barack Obama.
DACA recipients "have talked to more than 600K voters!" according to a Tweet from Cristina Jimenez, an Ecuador-born migrant who is a co-founder of the United We Dream, a pro-amnesty group of illegals created by progressive lawyers and union organizers.

The UWD group claims 400,000 members and 100 chapters. Many of the most active members are university students who are also trying to get an amnesty for their parents, to help their extended family migrate into the United States, and to block immigration reforms which would help raise Americans’ income and civic stability.

Exit Polls: More Than Half of Voters Believe Mueller Probe is Politically Motivated
[Daily Caller] More than half of voters polled at election sites on Tuesday said that they believe the Mueller probe is politically motivated, according to exit polling data compiled by CNN.

Only 40 percent of voters said they approve of the Mueller investigation, which is looking into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government. Slightly more voters said they disapprove, according to CNN.

Those numbers track closely with NBC News’ exit polling data.

According to NBC, 45 percent of voters said they disapprove of Mueller’s handling of the investigation, which began with an FBI probe on July 31, 2016. Forty-two percent of voters said they approve of Mueller’s handling of the inquiry. (RELATED: Mueller Expected To Make Moves After Midterms ‐ Here’s What He Could Do Next)

Six in 10 Democrats and only two in 10 Republicans support the investigation. Independents were closely divided with 43 percent approving of the investigation and 42 percent disapproving.

Government
Follow-up: 6 Questions About The Huge CIA Blunder That Allowed Enemies To Kill 70 U.S. Spies
[Federalist] More than 70 foreign nationals working as spies for the CIA in Iran and China were systematically identified and slaughtered in the past decade, due to a ridiculously weak web-based system the CIA used to communicate with foreign assets it couldn’t reach directly. This according to a devastating November 2 report in Yahoo News written by journalists Zach Dorfman and Jenna McLaughlin (center-left, but generally trustworthy).

Skipping down to the 6 ques:

1. Have the specific problems been dealt with?
Considering the order of ineptitude on display, are there still exploitable copies of the web sites up on archive.org or elsewhere?

2. Are CIA foreign source communications actually fixed?
Have tried and true, centuries-old spycraft behaviors such as dead drops, brush passes, cypher pads, and the like been adapted and put in place in a modern setting? How anybody can be stupid enough to place the personal identities of spies for the United States in an electronic directory in the first place beggars the understanding. We don’t need to know the exact details, but has this practice been nixed and something better put in place?

3. Who let this happen?
Although Reidy’s reports were ignored during the Bush years, the real catastrophe got rolling during the Obama administration. As Michael Walsh points out at PJ Media, it played out under a carousel of changing directors. Walsh convincingly contends that administrative churn in an area the president disliked was a large reason for the failures. Can we get an accounting, and maybe even an apology to the American people for screwing up so badly?

4. Is the CIA itself fixed?
This is an agency that seems lately given to fantasy and bureaucratic truculence, especially for its role in the idiotic Russia collusion imbroglio. Did former director Mike Pompeo address any of these issues during his tenure? Most of all, can we trust that current director and CIA lifer Gina Haspel has gotten rid of the fools who set up, maintained, and defended the horrific transient communication system, and paid the knaves who ignored and hounded the stalwart Reidy out of a job?

5. Who are the spies who were killed?
Might as well tell us now. Whatever was going to be compromised is already shot to pieces. Whether these folks did it for money, revenge, sex, love, or purity of heart and love of freedom, they were doing the citizens of the United States, and the people of the free world, a huge service, obviously risking their lives in the process.

Have their surviving families been protected? Covertly rewarded with cash, tickets out, spots for their children in U.S. universities? We should do them right and take care of this debacle American-style, with more than an anonymous star on some wall at Langley. It is a pity we could not keep our spies safe, but at least we should honor their ultimate sacrifice.

6. What was revealed to China and Iran when these spies were interrogated?
How and when is this catastrophic failure going to come back and haunt us? Because it will.

#1  ...and that the margins mean Dems have to join hands to work with President Trump.

Is she serious? The Dems have been saying 'impeach / investigate Trump' for two years, and that's exactly what they're going to spend the next two years doing. They will do nothing else besides that.

Given that it's a Romney saying this, I fully expected this level of cluelessness.

#2  1. Trump still has veto that can only be overridden by 2/3rds of Congress.

2. Watching Trump for the last 2 years, you think he won't let the government be shut down?

3. Playing 'impeachment' games does not generate cooperation.

4. The Donks rely a lot on looting the Treasury to maintain their position and power. That requires a degree of cooperation. See - the Art of the Deal.

5. House Trunks got what they deserved playing as the Uniparty. The Senate played tough. A message there?

#12  Biggest gift there could be: A Dimocrat majority that is so razor thin they will not be able to pass much of anything without endangering a lot of their people in 2020. The Senate will prevent Trump from needing to use the veto. And if they play it right, the economic downturn can be plainly pointed at the Dems in the House in 2020.

Most important thing is the weak sisters like Murkowski are now irrelevant. with 55 (or 54), trump can get his judges placed rapidly, and load the bench in the appeals and district courts. If Clarence Thomas has health issues, he can step down after this session, and Trump can put a younger conservative on the bench like 49-year-old Thapur, the first Indian American on the court. And Ginsberg, tick-tock bitch, Amy Barret is waiting for your seat you decrepit progressive socialist old hag.

The 2018 midterm election races that made history
[Axios] The first Muslim congresswoman, first openly gay man elected governor, youngest woman ever elected to Congress, and more history was made Tuesday night in the midterm races.

The big picture: This was already teed up to be a major election, with Democrats poised to take the House and the country having the first chance since 2016 to send a message to Congress. But individual races opened the door for more diversity in national politics.

Retired SEAL Dan Crenshaw Clinches Victory in Texas
[Free Beacon] Former Navy SEAL Dan Crenshaw defeated his Democratic challenger in Texas’s 2nd Congressional District Tuesday night, replacing the district’s retiring six-term Republican Rep. Ted Poe.

Crenshaw was projected the winner just after 11 p.m. The first-time congressional candidate clinched 53 percent of the vote over Todd Litton’s 45 percent with over half of precincts reporting.

Crenshaw served three combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, where he lost his right eye after encountering an improvised explosive device in the deadly Helmand province. Jersey Trash: Sleazy Bob Menendez Wins Re-Election
[Townhall] Well, it looks like Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez is projected to win re-election. The Jersey trash Democrat was engulfed in a major ethics scandal, in which he was accused of taking lavish gifts from Dr. Salomon Melgen in exchange for political favors. Melgen was recently convicted and sentenced to 17 years in prison for health care fraud. The months-long trial dented Menendez’s approval numbers, but it ended with a hung jury‐and the Department of Justice declined to retry him.

Republican Bob Hugin was said to have run an excellent campaign against Menendez, hitting him with endless attack ads. With no real competitive House races in the Garden State to help turn out key areas of Democratic support‐party insiders were worried that their base wouldn’t turn out. These fears were complicated by the fact that Menendez’s approval ratings are in the toilet, with Democrats depressed over the ethics fiasco.

Live Updates*** 2018 Midterm Election Results
[Breitbart] Welcome to the Breitbart News LiveWire of the 2018 midterm elections. Democrats need to pick up 23 seats to take back the House of Representatives and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), who is looking to regain her Speakership, said earlier in the day that she is 100% certain that Democrats will win back the House. As David Axelrod said on CNN, Trump will either win the House tonight or retiring House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) will lose it.

Democrats are less optimistic about taking back the Senate, especially after President Donald Trump barnstormed across the country in recent weeks to stump for key Republican Senate candidates. Odds favor Republicans maintaining control of the Senate and perhaps even gaining a few seats.

Real Clear Politics as of midnight Tuesday:
US Senate
Democrats 42 (-4)
Republicans 52 (+4)
GOP picked up Florida, Indiana, Missouri, North Dakota.
Arizona, Montana, Nevada still undecided.

US House
Democrats 193 (+24)
Republicans 178 (-24)
Eighteen districts still undecided.

Governors
Democrats 20 (+5)
Republicans 24 (-5)
Democrats picked up Illinois, Kansas, Maine, Michigan, and New Mexico.
Five states still undecided,

Bill Nelson conceded to Rick Scott in Florida.

With 90% in Rosendal is up over Tester by 2%.

94% in Arizona McSally is up by 1% over Sinema.

With 70% reporting in Nevada, Heller is behind Rosen by 5%.

Gov Reynolds pulled it out over Hubbel in Iowa (I was personally worried there for awhile).

Brian Kemp leads Stacy Abrams in Georgia for Governor by 2% with only .15% left. Won't concede, go figure with allegation of attempted fraud. Kemp should come down on her like Mjolnir on a Frost Giants head.

And Gov Walker is talking about a recount, though down 1.5% (40,000 votes) and with only 1% to go, who knows. Wouldn't surprise me to have 100,000 thrown out for various reasons.

The only thing interesting now is the reports out of California, 45% to go and Deleon is behind Feinstain by 8%. And Gavin Newsom is the new Governor. God help them when the Creditors finally nuke their rating to Chicago status.

#7  ....The only thing interesting now is

The utter fecklessness and socialist leaning tendencies of the average American voter. The process as established by the founders was brilliantly constructed. It's the participants who have become unhinged.

But why should I be surprised after 45 years of Supreme Court sanction infanticide, sixteen years of the Clinton's and Bath House Barry, endless ME wars, public (read that gov't) debt than can never be repaid, and decades of unchecked illegal immigration and 'anchor babies.' And now Congresswoman Maxine Waters as Chairperson of the House Financial Services Committee ?

Yes, I fear we are doomed. I can almost hear Nero on his cithara.

#14  Confirmations in the Senate ought to be easier for any new Cabinet posts and any new SC appointees, e.g. RBG. The Senate can counterbalance any Dem talk of impeachment and committee hearings in the House.

There might be a fight for Speaker in the House. Pelosi acts like she has it in the bag but she is not well-liked by younger Dems. She is 78 and Botox might catch up with her.

France says $97 million paid to victims of 2015 terror attacks
[IsraelTimes] Additional $245 million in compensation expected to be distributed over Gay Paree carnage, in which jacket wallahs and button men killed 130 people

Victims and relatives of the 130 people killed by jihadist attackers in and around Gay Paree in November 2015 have received 85 million euros ($97 million) in compensation to date, the fund managing the payments said Tuesday.

The forces of Evil targeted the Stade de La Belle France stadium with suicide bombs, while button men also stormed the Bataclan theater and targeted patrons at cafes and restaurants in eastern Gay Paree on November 13, 2015.

The forces of Evil killed 130 people and injured hundreds more. As of November 1, 2,625 people have lodged claims and received payouts over lost relatives or injuries or trauma suffered during the terror attacks at the football stadium and the Bataclan.

Of those, 856 cases have been fully settled, meaning their physical or psychological health has "stabilized," Julien Rencki, head of the FGTI compensation fund for terror victims, said at a presser Tuesday.

In total, the fund expects to pay compensation of some 300 million euros ($342 million), after 70 new claims were filed since January, "two and a half years after the November 13 attacks," Rencki said.

The fund has also had to deal with a number of false claims over the attacks by people falsely claiming to be victims.

Last month, a 33-year-old woman who lied about being injured by gunfire at one of the bars was sentenced to six months in jail.

Rencki said the fund also expected to pay out 200-250 million euros ($228-285 million) for victims of the Bastille Day in the southern French city of Nice in July 2016, when a jihadist attacker ploughed his truck into a crowd of thousands, killing 86 people.

La Belle France has been on high alert following a series of deadly jihadist attacks in recent years, often by people who have become radicalized or claim to have acted in the name of the Islamic State

US pipe bombs suspect appears at Election Day court hearing
[IsraelTimes] Cesar Sayoc accused of sending explosives to prominent Democrats and Trump critics; could face nearly 50 years in prison

The man accused of sending pipe bombs to prominent critics of President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
was ordered held without bail after his first court appearance in New York on Tuesday.

Cesar Sayoc, who was transferred from federal custody in Florida, hugged his lawyer after a hearing in which Assistant US Attorney Jane Kim called him "a serious risk of danger to the public and a flight risk."

Sayoc has been accused of sending improvised bombs to numerous Democrats, Trump critics, and media outlets in a scare that heightened tensions before the crucial midterm elections Tuesday. None of the devices went kaboom!, and no one was injured in the pipe bomb scare.

While Sayoc’s attorneys have not commented on his mental health, his mother wrote a letter to ABC News saying he has suffered from mental illness for years.
He was jugged

outside a South Florida auto parts store. He was living in a van covered with stickers of Trump and showing images of some of the president’s opponents with red crosshairs over their faces.

His lawyers decided not to seek his release on bail after prosecutors released a letter outlining more evidence against him, including DNA linking him to 10 of the bombs and fingerprints on two of them.

Other evidence includes online searches Sayoc did on his laptop and cellphone for addresses and photos of some of his intended targets, which included former president Barack Obama

, Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, Senator Kamala Harris, and New Jersey Senator Cory Booker. Packages were also mailed to CNN in New York and Atlanta.

Prosecutors say the most recent crude bomb was recovered Friday in California, addressed to the liberal activist Tom Steyer.

Sayoc is scheduled to return to federal court Monday for a preliminary hearing.

While Sayoc’s attorneys have not commented on his mental health, his mother wrote a letter to ABC News saying he has suffered from mental illness for years.

"While I have not lived with my son for 35 years or even heard from him in over four years, I cannot express how deeply hurt, sad, shocked and confused I am to hear that my son may have caused so many people to be put in fear for their safety," Madeline Sayoc wrote in the letter, according to ABC News. "This is not how I raised him or my children."

Son of North Carolina judge arrested for allegedly threatening synagogue

[IsraelTimes] 20-year-old William Warden also charged with burning a cross in a public park last month, suspected of distributing anti-Semitic fliers.

Warden was tossed in the calaboose

Sunday night and charged with misdemeanor ethnic intimidation. For the cross burning, which occurred last month, he also was charged with a misdemeanor.

Police also suspect Warden of being responsible for recent anti-Semitic fliers that were distributed in a nearby subdivision, according to the report.

Warden’s bail was set at $20,000 and he was ordered not to go within 100 yards of the synagogue.

Judge Lucy Inman and her husband, Billy Warden, in a statement released to local media said that their son has a mental illness for which they have sought and continue to seek treatment.
There it is — another nutter. Joo-hatred is looking less like the philosophy of the stupid and more the desperate attempt to make sense of the universe by the insane.
"As deeply concerned parents, we apologize profusely to the Jewish community and to all who have been impacted. And we are treating this situation with utmost seriousness," they said.

"Our observations and our communications with law enforcement lead us to believe that our son has been exploited by people whose agenda is completely opposed to the inclusive values we espouse and live."

Rashida Tlaib is first Palestinian-American elected to Congress
[IsraelTimes] Tlaib runs unopposed in Michigan’s 13th district; she has said she favors a one-state solution to the Israeli-Paleostinian conflict and has opposed United States aid to Israel

Rashida Tlaib
...American-born Muslim, member of the Democratic Socialists of America, anti-Zionist,so of course she represents Detroit...
on Tuesday became the first Paleostinian-American elected to the US Congress when she won Michigan’s 13th district.

She will also be one of the first Moslem women in Congress, along with Ilhan Omar, who is expected to win in Minnesota. Tlaib ran unopposed, but fended off a late write-in challenge from the woman she defeated in the primaries.

"The first thing I think about when somebody says you’re going to be the first Moslem is celebrate this moment," she told CBS. "We changed the course of history at a time we thought it was impossible. And that if you just believe, believe in the possibility of someone like me."

Republicans, who charge that the Democratic Party has departed from its pro-Israel bona fides point to Tlaib and Omar as proof. Tlaib favors a one-state solution to the Israeli-Paleostinian conflict and has opposed United States aid to Israel.

Tlaib, the daughter of Paleostinian immigrants colonists, said in recent interviews that she favors a one-state solution to the Israeli-Paleostinian conflict, as opposed to a two-state solution that would establish a Paleostinian state alongside Israel.

Asked whether she would consider slashing military aid to Israel with Britannia’s Channel 4, Tlaib responded, "Absolutely, if it has something to do with inequality and not access to people having justice. For me, US aid should be leverage. I will be using my position in Congress so that no country, not one, should be able to get aid from the US when they still promote that kind of injustice.

"So much is about ’let’s choose a side,’" she continued, opining on the Israeli-Arab conflict. "I am for making sure that every single person there has every right to thrive."

In a subsequent interview with In These Times magazine, Tlaib endorsed a one-state solution and supported the free speech rights of BDS activists, who push for Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions against Israel.

"One state," she said in response to a question about whether she supports a one- or two-state solution. "It has to be one state. Separate but equal does not work. I’m only 42 years old but my teachers were of that generation that marched with Martin Luther King. This whole idea of a two-state solution, it doesn’t work."

Omar, a Somalia-born community activist and representative in the State House, is favored to win in November in the 5th District now held by Keith Ellison, who won the DFL primary for state attorney general. DFL is the state’s Democratic Party. Ellison was the first Moslem elected to Congress, in 2006.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
‘Deceptive quiet’: Shin Bet chief says 480 terror attacks foiled in past year
[IsraelTimes] Nadav Argaman tells politicians that Paleostinian territories are ’extremely unstable’

Nadav Argaman, the director of the Shin Bet security service, warned politicians Tuesday of growing instability in the West Bank, saying the relative calm in the Paleostinian territory was a "deceptive quiet."

Addressing the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Argaman said the Gazoo Strip and West Bank had become "extremely unstable" over the last year, and told politicians his agency had foiled hundreds of attacks in that time.

In Gazoo, Argaman said Israel was perpetually stuck between "waging a military operation on one hand while trying to stabilize the humanitarian situation on the other."

But in the West Bank, he told the committee, the "reality is much more complex."

"On the surface it appears as if there’s relative calm, but this quiet is deceptive, because beneath the surface tensions are increasingly simmering."

Argaman said Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, bully boyz in the West Bank have been trying "with everything they have" to mobilize operatives to carry out attacks against Israel with guidance from Gazoo, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...Qatar's colony in Asia Minor....
and Leb.

The Shin Bet chief said his agency had thwarted 480 terrorist attacks in the last year, tossed in the calaboose
Into the paddy wagon wit' yez!
219 Hamas cells, and thwarted some 590 "lone wolf" attackers. He said the Shin Bet had also foiled efforts to spy on Israel and a number of cyber-attacks emanating from the West Bank.

"The large scope of attacks can only indicate the extent of terrorism taking place beneath the surface," he said.

A wave of mainly lone-wolf Paleostinian attacks against Israelis broke out in 2015. The number of attacks has decreased since, but there are fears of another upsurge in violence.

Argaman has served as an intermediary between Israel and the Paleostinian Authority since the US-led peace talks collapsed in 2014. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and PA President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial...
have had little contact since then.

Last week, Hadashot TV news reported that Netanyahu has been seeking to renew ties with the PA in recent months, and dispatched Argaman to Ramallah to offer Abbas an economic incentive package.

During their meeting in Ramallah, Argaman told Abbas that Israel was prepared to set up a joint industrial area and open up gas production off the Gazoo coast, according to the network, which said the Paleostinian leader rebuffed both offers.

The report did not specify when the meeting took place, but said it came amid a series of meetings Argaman held with senior PA officials in recent months in which he stressed the Paleostinian economy would benefit if there were renewed contact with Israeli leaders.

Netanyahu’s efforts to reestablish ties with the PA came following warnings of growing instability in the Wast Bank and Gazoo from IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Gadi Eisenkot.

Ties have worsened further since the PA cut ties with the US over President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital in December 2018, and his decision to move the US embassy there.

Israel and the PA continue to maintain security ties between forces on the ground. Though PA officials have repeatedly threatened to cut these as relations deteriorate, they have so far refrained from doing so.

Catfight breaks out at Miss BumBum contest over fake butt accusation
[NYPOST] This year’s Miss BumBum competition ended in a shambles after contestants resorted to violence on stage following cheating allegations.

The fight was sparked by one contestant accusing the other of having a surgically enhanced derriere.

The eye-popping scenes unfolded Monday shortly after Ellen Santana was crowned Miss BumBum 2018.

The 31-year-old model and dancer was representing the northern Brazilian state of Rondônia in the competition.

But moments after she was declared the winner, she was physically stripped of her winner’s sash by fellow contestant Aline Uva from Rio Grande Do Sul, in the south of Brazil.

Uva, a 27-year-old massage therapist, was heard shouting that the competition was a farce and claiming that the winner’s butt was surgically enhanced.

She added: "I fulfilled all the rules of the game, my butt is real, but her butt is plastic!"

"Miss BumBum is a farce. Today I could prove all this."

Organizers of the annual competition were forced to intervene to calm the frantic scene and ensure the winner’s sash was handed back to Santana.

Egypt’s Sisi says army will defend Gulf Arabs in case of direct threat
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi said the army will come to the defense of Gulf Arabs if they face any direct threats, a pro-government newspaper said on Tuesday.

Youm7 newspaper also quoted Sisi as saying in response to a question on US sanctions on Iran: "Instability affects us all and any state that has instability affects all of us."

Sisi’s Egypt is aligned with Soddy Arabia

"Our Arab peoples must remain aware and have true consciousness of what the region is going through," Youm7 quoted Sisi as saying.

"We stand by our brothers in the Gulf wholeheartedly and if Gulf security is directly threatened by anyone, the Egyptian people, even before their leadership, will not accept that and will mobilize forces to protect their brethren."

Nine Iranian women activists summoned for questioning at Tehran’s Evin Prison
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Nine women activists were summoned for questioning at Tehran’s infamous Evin Prison, the primary site for the housing of Iran’s political prisoners since 1972, Iranian lawyer Amir Raisian said.

The lawyer told Iranian news agency IRNA that these activists were interrogated and charged this week, citing documents from the Office of the Attorney General in Evin.

He added that the warrant failed to mention the reasons behind pressing charges and that the prosecutor said the women were summoned in order for the prosecution "to only make some inquiries."

Meanwhile one of the activists, who asked the news agency to remain anonymous, stated that she was summoned with nine other activists and that there were more activists who would be summoned and questioned in the coming weeks at the Evin Prison as well.

Iranian authorities are arresting many activists on various charges, such as propagating against the regime, or threatening national security.

On Monday, the Iranian judiciary released Huda Ameen on bail after she was tossed in the calaboose
Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out!
for more than two months on charges of "attempting to dismantle family structures" by setting up training workshops on "conditions of marriage contracts" and "equality in domestic work."

However,
corruption finds a dozen alibis for its evil deeds...
other activists such as Najma Wahidi, Mariam Azad and Radwanah Mohammadi who work in the field of women’s rights, were arrested along with Huda Ameen on similar charges. They are still being held by security forces.

Human rights groups say Iranian authorities deny women detainees the right of visitations or to call their family members, and they are also denied the right to choose a lawyer.

The activists’ relatives say they are forced to only choose from a list of 20 government lawyers.

Palestinian woman pulls scissors on officers, is shot – police
[IsraelTimes] Attacker subdued, moderately maimed when trying to attack border police near settlement of Kfar Adumim; no injuries to security forces

A Paleostinian woman who ran at Border Police officers with a pair of scissors at a West Bank gas station was shot by security forces at the scene, police said Tuesday.

The officers were in the process of carrying out a security check on the woman at the Sonol company gas station near the West Bank settlement of Kfar Adumim, when she "pulled out a sharp object with which she tried to stab the servicemen," police said in a statement.

They later said the object was scissors.

Security forces opened fire and "neutralized" the woman, the statement said. There were no injuries to Israeli forces.

The woman was moderately maimed and was taken to the nearby Mount Scopus Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem for treatment, police said in a subsequent statement.

Officers were called to the scene after the woman tried to hide in a falafel restaurant at the gas station and refused to leave the premises, the statement said.

She attempted to attack the officers with the scissors when they tried to detain her, and was shot.

Police said officers also found a knife in the woman’s handbag.

She was identified as a 37-year-old resident of the nearby Paleostinian town of Yatta.

Kfar Adumim lies close to the Israeli West Bank city of Ma’ale Adumim, east of the capital.

The attack came a day after a Paleostinian man attempted to stab an Israeli soldier near the West Bank city of Hebron and was shot by soldiers, according to the military.

The IDF said the attempted stabbing Monday took place at Elias Junction at the entrance to the Kiryat Arba settlement, and said it was investigating the incident.

Palestinians walking with hunting rifle arrested near settlement

[IsraelTimes] IDF soldiers arrest three Paleostinians ‐ one of them armed with a hunting rifle ‐ who were walking near the Mevo Dotan settlement in the northern West Bank, the army says.

The Paleostinian suspects have been handed over to the Shin Bet security service for questioning.

It is illegal for Paleostinians to own guns in the West Bank, except for those who require them for work purposes.

Cameroon: Biya Sworn In, Challenger Arrested - Report
[All Africa] President Paul Biya of Cameroon
...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there...
has been sworn into serve his seventh consecutive term as the head of state. This comes after he was declared winner of the presidential elections held on the 7th of October. According to official result by the electoral body ELECAM, Biya won with 71% of the votes.

Opposition parties have however rejected the results citing irregularities and massive fraud in some regions. Cabral Libii who represented the political party LE UNIVER has joined Maurice Kamto for the Movement Pour la Renaissance du Cameroun (MRC) in calling for a vote recount.

The restive North West and South West regions are showing little interest in the whole process and it might be an indication that the next seven years will be tumultuous for the newly-elected president.

There are reports by Cameroon Daily Journal that the runner up Professor Maurice Kamto has been tossed in the clink

by government forces. No reason has been given for his arrest.

Professor Maurice Kamto, Maitre Simh, Professor Fogue and other member of the MRC are currently detained at the judicial police building in Elig Esson in the capital, Yaounde.

More than 200 mass graves discovered in Iraq: UN report
[Al Jazeera] More than 200 graves containing the corpses of thousands of victims have been discovered in areas formerly controlled by the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS, also known as ISIS), a UN report said.

The report by the UN Human Rights Office and the UN Assistance Mission documented the existence of 202 mass grave sites in the northern and western Iraqi governorates of Nineveh, Kirkuk,
... a thick stew of Arabs, Turkmen, Kurds, and probably Antarcticans, all of them mutually hostile most of the time...
Salah al-Din and Anbar.

The dead include women, children, the elderly and disabled, as well as members of Iraq's armed forces and police, the report said.

These deaths occurred in what the United Nations
...a formerly good idea gone bad...
has called a systematic and widespread campaign of violence, "which may amount to war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide".

It may be difficult to specify the exact number of people in the graves, with the smallest site in west djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
believed to contain eight bodies while the biggest in the Khasfa sinkhole south of Mosul is believed to contain thousands of corpses.

The UN has said previously that almost 33,000 non-combatants were killed by the group in Iraq, with more than 55,000 injured.

CJP takes notice of 'huge losses of lives, property' in riots following Aasia Bibi verdict
[DAWN] Chief Justice of Pakistain Mian Saqib Nisar on Tuesday took notice of the "loss of lives and property caused to the general public" in riots that followed the court's acquittal of Aasia Bibi last week.

On October 31, the SC had acquitted Aasia Bibi ‐ a Christian woman previously condemned to death on blasphemy charges ‐ after accepting her appeal against her sentence.

The top court's decision had angered reliogiopolitical parties, including the Tehrik-e-Labbaik Pakistain (TLP), which had taken to the streets and staged violent sit-ins and protests across the country.

The protests had at times escalated into riots, with protesters setting vehicles on fire and on one occasion even pillaging the push cart of a child selling bananas.

The chief justice, according to SC spokesperson, today took notice of the "losses of property and lives caused to general public" with the intent to "compensate the victims who lost their valuables or properties during the tragic incidents".

The notice, the court added, was taken on media reports that significant losses were caused to the general public in the wake of the apex court's verdict in the Aasia Bibi case.

Furthermore, the chief justice has directed the federal and provincial governments to furnish within three days their reports detailing the estimated losses.

Court to decide whether Aasia Bibi will be placed on ECL, says religious affairs minister
[DAWN] Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Noorul Haq Qadri while speaking to the media on Tuesday said that the court would decide on the matter of placing Aasia Bibi's name on the Exit Control List (ECL).

The government and Tehrik-e-Labbaik Pakistain (TLP) had on Friday reached an agreement after which the latter ended its three-day-long nationwide protests against the Supreme Court's acquittal last week of Asia Bibi who had been sentenced to death in 2010 for blasphemy.

One of the points both parties agreed on was that the government would "initiate the legal process" to place Aasia Bibi's name on the no-fly list.

When asked whether her name had been placed on the ECL, Qadri said: "If you read the agreement, you'll see it says that legal process will be undertaken to place her on the ECL."

"When there are cases in the Supreme Court and high court, the court itself says that so-and-so should be placed on the ECL. So we will follow that process."

"The TLP also said that some miscreants used their platform to damage public property and had behaved inappropriately. The state will take action against them," he added.

"We stand by the agreement, and it will be acted upon," Qadri asserted.

When asked whether the TLP would be banned, the minister said that there was no plan to ban the TLP.

"However,
denial ain't just a river in Egypt...
if someone's intentions or designs are in conflict with the national narrative and policies, then hopefully steps will be taken against them," he replied.

Qadri said that the role of the state and the government is like that of a mother, and the government's first responsibility is to restore peace.

The minister said that the government was formulating strategies in anticipation of similar situations in the future.

Erdogan: US sanctions on Iran wrong, aimed to unbalance world
[Al Jazeera] Ottoman Turkish President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey...
has slammed the new US economic sanctions on Iran, saying that The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire....
will not abide as they are aimed at unbalancing the world.

"US sanctions on Iran are wrong. For us, they are steps aimed at unbalancing the world; we don't want to live in an imperialist world," Erdogan told news hounds on Tuesday after addressing ruling party MPs at the parliament in the capital, Ankara.

His comments come after Washington this week imposed a second set of sanctions on Iran that aim to isolate the country's banking sector and slash its oil exports.

Eight countries including Turkey - a NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A cautionary tale of cost-benefit analysis....
member - have received a US waiver to continue importing Iranian oil without consequences.

According to Ottoman Turkish Daily Sabah, Erdogan said that Turkey imports about 10 billion cubic metres of natural gas from Iran.

According to the data from the Energy Market Regulatory Authority's (EMRA) Natural Gas Market Report for December 2017, about one-fifth of Turkey's natural gas exports come from Iran.

ISOLATING IRAN IS DANGEROUS
Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu also warned Washington against the reimposition of sanctions on Iran, saying isolating the country is "dangerous".

"While we were asking [for] an exemption from the United States, we have also been very frank with them that cornering Iran is not wise. Isolating Iran is dangerous and punishing the Iranian people is not fair," he said at a presser during a trip to Japan.

"Turkey is against sanctions, we don't believe any results can be achieved through the sanctions," he added.

"I think instead of sanctions, meaningful dialogue and engagement is much more useful."

Cavusoglu had earlier conveyed the same message last July to a delegation of US officials, stressing that Turkey would not abide by anti-Iran sanctions since Iran is an important neighbour and partner.

"We buy oil from Iran and we purchase it in proper conditions. What is the other option?" Cavusoglu said.

Washington has imposed two sets of sanctions this year after pulling out of the landmark 2015 nuclear pact agreed between world powers and Iran that President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
derided as "defective".

The latest round went into effect on Monday.

Girl Scouts sue Boy Scouts for trademark infringement
[MARKETWATCH] The Girl Scouts are suing the Boy Scouts, saying the organization’s inclusive rebranding effort has caused all sorts of consumer confusion from mistaken enrollment in the Boy Scouts to misinformation about a merge of the two groups.

Tuesday’s trademark infringement lawsuit is an attempt to clear up the uncertainty, said the Girl Scouts of the United States of America.

The Manhattan federal case noted the two separate youth organizations have long coexisted.

But problems arose when "core gender distinction" was altered by the Boy Scouts of America, which announced in October 2017 it would open its doors to girls beginning in 2019.

Earlier this year, the Boy Scouts unveiled new marketing campaign to back the effort. "Scout Me In," the tagline proclaimed.

'Threats' to Dutch Envoy in Pakistan over Wilders Tweets
[AnNahar] The Netherlands said Tuesday that its ambassador to Pakistain has faced "threats", reportedly from Islamists angry over anti-Islam tweets by the far-right politician Geert Wilders.

Wilders in August called off a planned Prophet Mohammed cartoon competition that stirred anger in Pakistain, but the MP has since posted several such images on Twitter.

"We are dealing with threats to the ambassador's address," a Dutch foreign ministry front man told AFP.

"We take the security of the embassy very seriously, and that is also the subject of consultations between the Netherlands and Pakistain. For security reasons, I cannot make any further comment."

Pakistain's interior ministry last month wrote a secret memo on plans to "target" the Dutch ambassador by the hardline Islamist Tehrik-e-Labaik Pakistain party (TLP), media from both countries reported.

The TLP, founded in 2015, led protests in August calling for Pakistain to sever diplomatic relations with The Netherlands over the Wilders cartoon contest.

"It has been reported that elements associated with Tehrik-e-Labaik Pakistain (TLP) are planning to target (the) Dutch ambassador... to seek Dire Revenge for uploading of blasphemous caricatures by Geert Wilders, Dutch parliamentarian, on his personal Twitter account," the memo said.

The Pak interior ministry and Dutch embassy declined to comment.

The TLP denied making any threats.

"Attacking somebody is not a policy of Tehrik-e-Labaik. We are a peaceful movement," TLP front man Pir Ijaz Ashrafi told AFP.

However,
some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them...
he said the group "demand the Dutch government expel Wilders from their parliament and if they don't do so, the government of Pakistain should dismiss the Dutch ambassador from Pakistain."

More recently, the TLP has led demonstrations against a Pakistain court ruling saving Christian woman Asia Bibi from death row where she had been languishing on blasphemy charges.

Bibi's lawyer, Saif-ul-Malook, fled to The Netherlands at the weekend saying there had been threats to his life -- although on Monday he said the U.N. and EU had made him leave Pakistain.

Separately, a body representing 144 Ottoman Turkish mosques in the Netherlands has asked Twitter to block Wilders' account for inciting hatred, it emerged on Monday.

UN Security Council extends sanctions on Libya with inclusion of sexual crimes
[LIBYANEXPRESS] The U.N. Security Council has authorized action against illicit oil exports from Libya for another six months and added planning and committing sexual and gender-based violence as reasons for sanctions, despite objections from Russia and China.

Monday’s vote in the U.N.’s most powerful body was 13-0, with Russia and China abstaining.

The Netherlands and Sweden pushed for including "planning, directing or committing acts involving sexual and gender-based violence" as criteria for sanctions, citing the increasingly worrying problem in Libya especially against migrants colonists trying to reach Europe.

Russia’s U.N. Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia said Moscow objected to sexual and gender-based violence being included in a resolution dealing with threats to international peace and security, saying those issues are considered at the Human Rights Council and the Commission on the Status of Women.

Russian Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia accused the Netherlands and Sweden, which pushed for the new sanctions criteria, of trying to score political points at home.

"This is populism distilled in its purest form," Nebenzia told the council, who noted that preventing sex crimes in Sweden and the Netherlands "is the remit of the national governments."

"Sexual and gender-based violence are part of crime in any specific country," said the ambassador, adding that the council should focus on threats to international security.

The council has added sexual violence as a criteria for sanctions in recent resolutions on the Central African Republic and South Sudan.

Over 15 Syrian soldiers killed, wounded in latest attacks by jihadist rebels
[ALMASDARNEWS] A number of soldiers from the Syrian military were killed or maimed during the fierce festivities in northwestern Syria on Tuesday.

According to a military source in the city of Mhardeh, over 15 soldiers from the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and National Defense Forces (NDF) were either killed or maimed in the Hama, Idlib, and Latakia provinces.

The majority of the Syrian military’s casualties came when the jihadist rebels in the al-Ghaab Plain fired a barrage of missiles and artillery shells towards the government positions near the town of Joureen.

In response to this powerful attack by the jihadist rebels, the Syrian Arab Army responded with a barrage of surface-to-surface missiles towards the hard boy-held towns of Ziyara and Tal Wasit.

The Syrian Arab Army expanded their assault to the towns of al-Lataminah and Lahaya shortly after their attack on the jihadist positions in the al-Ghaab Plain.

With the jihadist rebels refusing to leave the Idlib buffer zone, the Syrian Arab Army finds themselves in a tough bind.

The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...Qatar's colony in Asia Minor....
has repeatedly stated that they will not allow the Syrian Army to push into the Idlib province, despite the fact that they agreed to force the jihadist rebels to withdraw from the designated demilitarized zones.

The Syrian Army is now awaiting directions from their Russian and Iranian partners, who are their intermediary with the Ottoman Turkish regime.

435 civilians killed, wounded during the parliamentary elections in Afghanistan
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) released its latest report regarding the casualties inflicted on civilians during the two days of parliamentary elections on 20th and 21st of October.

According to UNAMA, the mission has recorded 435 civilian casualties during the two days of elections, including 56 people who were killed and 379 who were maimed.

The report by UNAMA revealed the majority of the casualties were inflicted during the first day of elections, on October 20th, during which 52 deaths and 339 injuries were reported.

This is the highest level of civilian harm compared to the four previous elections held in Afghanistan, UNAMA said, adding that the level of civilian harm linked to parliamentary elections is particularly high compared to previous election cycles when factoring into account the deaths and injuries resulting from electoral-related violence experienced over the preceding months during the voter registration and campaigning periods.

The report documents grave concerns over the numerous attacks by Anti-Government Elements, mainly Taliban
...Arabic for students...
, directed at civilian objects and populated civilian areas during the elections, including attacks against schools used as polling centres.

According to UNAMA, these attacks were mainly carried out using indirect-fire systems such as rockets, grenades and mortars, as well as improvised bombs (IEDs), all of which have indiscriminate effects.

"Indirect fire aimed in the direction of polling centres and other civilian areas, accounted for 38 per cent of civilian casualties, while non-suicide IEDs, mostly placed at or near polling centres, many of which were located in schools, clinics and mosques, accounted for 23 per cent. Shooting by Anti-Government Elements during ground fighting accounted for an additional 12 per cent of civilian casualties," the report added.

In Senate, opposition parties criticise government for not being forceful enough in dealing with TLP
[DAWN] The Senate convened on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani to debate the law and order situation after the Supreme Court's acquittal of Aasia Bibi in the blasphemy case against her.

Before the debate formally began, Minister of IT Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui filed a motion to withdraw proposed amendments to the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act on behalf of the government, which was approved by the house.

The minister argued that the bill had been authored on the directives of deposed Islamabad High Court judge Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui and it was therefore proper that the government re-examine it.

Right after, the opposition pushed for a debate on Tehrik-e-Labbaik Pakistain's (TLP) nationwide protests.

"We do not want the state and Constitution to be sullied like this," the PPP's Parliamentary Leader, Senator Sherry Rehman said.

"The entire nation was at a standstill for three days. If we start to examine [what happened], they [the government] will say 'This was also done before; the state entered a similar agreement last year as well," she continued.

"[But] what happened this time is a grave tragedy. We are not here to taunt and challenge the government ‐ enough of that was done on the streets for [those] three days.

"[But] Our army chief was called out by name. The judiciary, the state and the army were dragged [into the mess]: what kind of message is being sent with these actions?" she asked.

"The government was all talk and no action. This was the first time we've heard the state challenged like this. How can this challenge be ignored?"

over a corruption related offence.

It is not yet clear where the charges emanate from but reports say he is accused of an offence he committed during his tenure as ICT Minister.

Mandiwanzira is currently being held at CID Serious Frauds and is expected to appear in court this Tuesday.

He was government minister from 2013 to 2018 and joins a handful former cabinet ministers who have been arrested and dragged to court over offences allegedly committed during their terms of office.

Erdogan ‘convinced’ Saudi King had nothing to do with Khashoggi murder -- Turkish FM
[ALMASDARNEWS] Ottoman Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said his country did not believe orders to murder Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi came from Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
’s King Salman
...either the largest species of Pacific salmon or the current Sheikh of the Burnin' Sands, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Lord of Most of the Arabians....
, during a presser in Tokyo on Tuesday.

Speaking at Japan’s National Press Club, Mevlut Cavusoglu said Ottoman Turkish President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey...
was "convinced that King Salman had no involvement in this murder," adding that "he is not a person that instructs people to kill his own citizens."

Cavusoglu also said the Ottoman Turkish government had more evidence on the case and that it would likely make it public after the investigation into Khasoggi’s killing would be completed.

6 arrested in France over alleged far-right plot to attack Macron
[IsraelTimes] Officials say suspects are locked away

over ’ill-defined’ plan to carry out ’violent action’ against French president

Six people linked to the far-right were detained on Tuesday in connection with an allegedly violent plot against French President Emmanuel Macron, officials said.

The six, who were not identified, were picked up by anti-terrorism units in the eastern French regions of Moselle and Isere and the northern region of Ile-et-Vilaine, officials added.

The arrests followed reports of a possible plot involving "violent action" aimed at the president, a source close to the investigation said.

Prosecutors have launched an investigation into a "criminal terrorist association," a judicial source said.

"This investigation is looking into a plot, vague and ill-defined at this stage, involving violent action against the president of the republic," another official said.

Britain
Prince Charles acknowledges UK’s ‘appalling’ role in slave trade
[DAWN] Prince Charles acknowledged Britannia’s role in the slave trade on Monday calling it an appalling atrocity that had "left an indelible stain on the history of our world".

In a speech in Ghana, which served as a major hub where African slaves were held before being shipped away, most across the Atlantic, the heir-to-the-British throne said the "profound injustice" of the past could never be forgotten.

"At Osu castle on Saturday, it was especially important to me as indeed it was on my first visit there forty-one years ago that I should acknowledge the most painful chapter of Ghana’s relations with the nations of Europe, including the United Kingdom," Charles said.

"The appalling atrocity of the slave trade, and the unimaginable suffering it caused, left an indelible stain on the history of our world."

Britannia abolished the trans-Atlantic slave trade in 1807 although the full abolition of slavery did not follow for another generation.

#3  The Royal Navy established the West Africa Squadron at substantial expense in 1808 after Parliament passed the Slave Trade Act of 1807. The squadron's task was to suppress the Atlantic slave trade by patrolling the coast of West Africa.[1] With a home base at Portsmouth,[2] it began with two small ships, the 32-gun fifth-rate frigate HMS Solebay and the Cruizer-class brig-sloop HMS Derwent. At the height of its operations, the squadron employed a sixth of the Royal Navy fleet and marines. In 1819 the Royal Navy established a West Coast of Africa Station and the West Africa Squadron became known as the (Preventative Squadron) [3] it remained an independent command until 1856 and then again 1866 to 1867.

Between 1808 and 1860 the West Africa Squadron captured 1,600 slave ships and freed 150,000 Africans.[1]

Bangladesh
Bangladesh police say top Islamic extremist shot dead
[DAWN] Bangladesh police on Tuesday said they had killed the chief of Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), an holy warrior group accused of murdering secular activists and inspiring a cafe siege that killed 22 people.

Khorshed Alam, described as the "emir" of Bangladesh's deadliest Islamist outfit, was bumped off early on Tuesday morning in the northern town of Shibganj, police front man Sonaton Chokraborty said.

"He died before we could bring him to hospital," Chokraborty told AFP of the 38-year-old myrmidon.

Police say Alam emerged after JMB's old guard was weakened by the execution of its former commander Sheikh Abdur Rahman, and five other top chiefs, in March 2007.

He is accused of criminal masterminding a number of attacks across Moslem-majority Bangladesh, including most recently the murder of atheist writer and publisher Shahzahan Bachchu in the central district of Munshiganj in June.

He also spearheaded a daring ambush on a prison van in 2014 that allowed two senior JMB foot soldiers to escape, police said.

In recent years, a splinter faction inspired by JMB's earlier leadership
...known cleverly as “New Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB)”...
grabbed headlines after five of its young members stormed an upmarket Dhaka cafe in July 2016 and murdered 22 people, including 18 foreigners.

Bangladesh police launched a massive crackdown on bandidos bandidos Death Eaters since the cafe siege, killing more than 80 suspected Islamists and arresting hundreds more.

Zimbabwe: Chamisa Readies Supporters for National Shut Down
[All Africa] The opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) President, Nelson Chamisa has vowed not to back off from his planned mass protests to force President Emmerson Mnangagwa's government out of power.

Chamisa who is on a national tour, speaking to party supporters on the way forward following his electoral loss in the July 30 harmonised elections told thousands of Beitbridge residents that he will soon give a signal on the envisaged action.

"After touring the whole country I will give you a signal so that we all follow the direction. Beyond a thank you I have also come to tell you that this is the direction we are taking.

"Prepare as we are going to announce how we intend to enrol our program of action in peace. The country's constitution allows for protests according to the section 59. If you are with us we will not back off. We are with you," he said.

Chamisa dismissed President Emmerson Mnangagwa as an illegitimate whose foreign engagements will not bear any fruits until the "political impasse born out of disputed election" is resolved.

Home Front: WoT
Terrorist found guilty in Port Authority bombing
[NYPOST] The Bangladeshi immigrant who blew up a pipe bomb in a crowded pedestrian tunnel under Times Square was convicted on all counts Tuesday afternoon ‐ then blamed his failed attack on President Trump.

"I was angry with Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
. He said he would bomb the Middle East," Akayed Ullah
...the very connected lone wolf who belonged to the Al Qaeda-linked Masjid Nur al-Islam mosque in Brooklyn...
said after jurors left the courtroom.

Ullah, 28, also denied trying to kill commuters for ISIS, as he confessed to an NYPD detective following the Dec. 11 blast.

"I didn’t do it for ISIS group," he said.

"They try to put me in a group which I don’t support."
Given his mosque of choice, quite possibly he did it for Al Qaeda or another jihadi group. Goodness knows there are plenty to choose from.
Manhattan federal Judge Richard Sullivan repeatedly interrupted Ullah as the Brooklyn resident blurted out his remarks.

"I don’t think right now is the time for a statement," Sullivan told him, adding that he could say his piece at his April 5 sentencing.

He faces up to life in prison.

Ullah was the only person injured when the bomb strapped to his body went kaboom! in an underground walkway connecting the city’s busiest subway station and the Port Authority Bus Terminal.
That just says he is an incompetent jihadi, not that he isn’t a jihadi.
The eight-woman, four-man jury found Ullah guilty of six felonies, including using a weapon of mass destruction and supporting a foreign terrorist organization.

The evidence against him included surveillance video that shows him falling to the floor following the kaboom.

Ullah’s defense lawyers admitted during the one-week trial that he detonated the device but claimed he did it to kill himself ‐ not others.
The conclusion does not follow from the evidence — there are much easier and more effective ways to kill oneself if that is the goal.
They also argued ‐ in an effort to avoid a potential life sentence ‐ that he wasn’t motivated by ISIS, but rather was trying to protest American policies that he felt were hurting Moslems.
And where did he get the idea that this was an effective way to accomplish that?

Sinead O’Connor: I never want to ‘spend time with white people again’
[PAGESIX] After converting to Islam, Sinéad O’Connor says she doesn’t want to be with white people.
You poor dear — so oppressed. Don’t anyone tell her Arabs consider themselves white. So do Egyptians. And Islam offers itself to all the world regardless of race, so she just blew it bigly.
O’Connor, who now goes by the name Shuhada Davitt, tweeted her "racist" statement in a series of tweets disparaging non-Moslem culture.

"I’m terribly sorry. What I’m about to say is something so racist I never thought my soul could ever feel it. But truly I never wanna spend time with white people again (if that’s what non-muslims are called)," she tweeted. "Not for one moment, for any reason. They are disgusting."

The 51-year-old "Nothing Compares 2 U" singer also criticized Twitter’s policy on blocking hate speech, writing, "Interesting to see if Twitter bans this when it allows people like Trump and Milbank spew the satanic filth upon even my country."

A known critic of the Catholic Church, O’Connor also discussed the role of violence in religions such as Islam, Judaism and Christianity.

"There is no more talk of ancient violence in the Q’ran as the Tanukh, the Bible or The sodding [Mahabharata]. And its ALL EQUALLY [IRRELEVANT] TO OUR TIMES," she wrote, adding the hashtag "#ReignOfWhiteMANover."

O’Connor ended her rant with an acknowledgment of how strange her tirade appeared. "Final word. If its ’Crazy’ to care. Then by all means, spank my ass and call me Fruity loops : )" she wrote.

Iran sentences 24 protestors, including two women
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Iran’s judiciary convicted at least 24 protesters, including two women, on vaguely defined national security charges, Human Rights Watch said today.

Their prison sentences ranged from six months to six years.

They were among more than 50 people tossed in the slammer
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
on August 2 during a protest in Tehran about deteriorating economic conditions and corruption.

Authorities also arrested a human rights
...which often include carefully measured allowances of freedom at the convenience of the state...
lawyer who had been convicted to three years in prison for reporting a protester’s death in detention on October 28.

"Iranian government officials repeatedly advertise to the world that the repeated protests in the country signal that there are real freedoms in Iran, while these same protestors languish in prison for years," said Michael Page, deputy Middle East director at Human Rights Watch.

"Prosecuting peaceful protesters will only add fuel to Iranians’ boiling frustration and discontent with the situation."

Three sources with close knowledge of the protesters’ cases told Human Rights Watch that prosecutors charged them with "assembly and collusion against national security" due to "participating in a protest without a permit that disrupted public order."

In the sentencing of at least two people, including Saba Kordafshari, 19, the evidence prosecutors presented was solely their social media posts reporting on the protest.

Two sources reported to HRW that prosecutors and prison officials denied the detainees access to a lawyer throughout the investigation and the trial and pressured them to plead guilty.

Iranian law restricts the rights of detainees charged with national security crimes to see a lawyer during the investigation period.

UNSMIL condemns attacks on medical facilities, banks and Sabrata
[Libya Herald] The United Nations
...an idea whose time has gone...
Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has condemned the attacks on Libya’s medical facilities, banks and on Sabrata conducted by militias.

In separate statements released over the last few days, UNSMIL condemned the atack against Jalaa Hospital for Women and Childbirth in Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
, by militias.

It stated thst the attackers shot one doctor and threatened the safety and security of the medical staff at the hospital, resulting in a three-day halt of all non-emergency medical services.

Persistent violence against medical facilities, the statement continued, including shelling and bombing of hospitals, attacking and intimidating medical staff, looting of medicine, equipment and ambulances, and festivities inside hospitals ‐ all committed with impunity by gangs ‐ must stop immediately.

The UNSMIL statement said that the health system of Libya is already under-resourced and overstretched, and that these attacks are costing lives of innocent patients and staff alike.

It expressed its solidarity with the staff at Jalaa Hospital and medical personnel across Libya.

Furthermore, it warned the perpetrators that attacks against medical facilities and health care providers are prohibited under International Humanitarian Law and that those responsible must be brought to justice for what may amount to war crimes, under the Rome Statue of the International Criminal Court.

On another note, UNSMIL also condemned yesterday the recurring assaults on the Aman Bank, al-Siyahiya Branch in Tripoli, by a gang led by Izzeddin al-Daw, Mohammed al-Daw and Abdelkarim al-Rammah.

It stressed that physically attacking, harassing women and extorting them financially in return for bank services is immoral and illegal.

UNSMIL also condemned the Sunday attack on Sabrata. It warned against further escalation. Attacks on civilian facilities and endangering civilians, and in this case young children, are prohibited by the International Humanitarian Law, it reminded.

US offers up to $5 mln reward for information on PKK members
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The United States on Tuesday offered rewards for information on three senior members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), which has waged an armed insurgency against the Ottoman Turkish state for decades.

The move could help Washington repair strained ties with NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all....
ally Ankara.

The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
has been infuriated by US support for the Syrian Kurdish YPG militia in the fight against ISIS in Syria. Ankara considers the YPG an extension of the outlawed PKK and, like it, a terrorist organization.

On Tuesday, Washington authorized rewards of up to $5 million for information "leading to the identification or location" of Murat Karayilan, up to $4 million for Cemil Bayik and up to $3 million for Duran Kalkan.

The announcement was made by the US Embassy in Ankara following a visit by US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Matthew Palmer.

The three PKK figures also appear on Turkey’s "most wanted terrorists" list, according to the Interior Ministry, which describes them as being among the leaders of the organization.

The PKK, designated a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
, has fought the Ottoman Turkish state since 1984.

Relations between Turkey and the United States have begun to thaw since the release from jail last month of American evangelical pastor Andrew Brunson.

Last week, the two countries mutually lifted sanctions on government officials, imposed in August over the Brunson case. Washington announced this week that Turkey would receive a temporary waiver from re-imposed sanctions on Iran.

President Tayyip Erdogan also said on Tuesday that talks with the United States regarding state-owned lender Halkbank, which had been facing a US fine over allegations of evasion of sanctions on Iran, were on a positive track.

US and Ottoman Turkish troops last week began conducting joint patrols in Syria’s Manbij, which the two sides have agreed to clear of murderous Moslems. Turkey had previously said the United States was delaying implementation of the plan.

Trump and Erdogan are to meet this weekend at a summit in Gay Paree.

Rudaw has more, including photos of the wanted men, here.

DR Congo's opposition will meet in Geneva to name joint candidate
[Al Jazeera] The Democratic Republic of the Congo
...formerly the Congo Free State, Belgian Congo, Zaire, and who knows what else, not to be confused with the Brazzaville Congo aka Republic of Congo, which is much smaller and much more (for Africa) stable. DRC gave the world Patrice Lumumba and Joseph Mobutu, followed by years of tedious civil war. Its principle industry seems to be the production of corpses. With a population of about 74 million it has lots of raw material...
's (DRC) opposition leaders have agreed to meet in Geneva to choose a joint candidate for the upcoming presidential elections.

The elections, to take place on December 23, are critical for the future of the DRC, a state that has never experienced a peaceful transition of power since it gained independence from Belgium in 1960.

"All opposition heads will gather in Switzerland
...home of the Helvetians, famous for cheese, watches, yodeling, and William Tell...
on Thursday to attend a meeting to designate a joint candidate," one of the challengers, Freddy Matungulu, told AFP news agency on Tuesday.

"The public has high expectations. We, as a group, cannot make any claim on winning the presidential election unless we act together," he said.

Leading opposition figure Felix Tshisekedi will take part in the meeting that is expected to take place over three days, his deputy chief of staff, Peter Kazadi, said.

Twenty-one candidates are set to take part in the presidential election, with voting also taking place for parliamentary and provincial assemblies.

The DRC is a country with mineral wealth worth trillions of dollars, torn apart by the dozens of gangs battling for it.

Current President Joseph Kabila, 47, has been in power since 2001 after the liquidation of his father, Laurent-Desire Kabila, the country's third president.

He was elected in 2006 in the DRC's first democratic election since it gained independence.

Kabila secured a second term in 2011, though that election was plagued by allegations of widespread voter fraud.

New Mass Grave Found in Mexico
[AnNahar] Mexican authorities began looking for bodies Monday at a new mass grave in the violent state of Veracruz, where hundreds of corpses have been found at similar sites in recent years.

The Solectio collective, a group of mothers searching for their missing children, said it learned about the site from an anonymous tip.

"The information we have is that there could be 400 to 500 bodies," said Rosalia Castro Toss, the group's spokeswoman.

"It was a death camp, or worse."

The site is located about five kilometers (three miles) from another mass grave, the Colinas de Santa Fe, where 296 bodies have been found so far.

Home to one of Mexico's largest ports, Veracruz is the scene of bloody pie fights between the rival narco mobs Jalisco New Generation and Los Zetas.

ex-governor Javier Duarte.

A string of top security officials face charges of running police death squads that took out their enemies during Duarte's administration (2010-2016).

Mexico registered a record 28,711 murders last year, in violence driven mainly by its powerful narco mobs.

Since 2006, when the government deployed the army to fight drug trafficking, more than 200,000 people have been murdered. Another 30,000 are missing.

Egypt’s Al-Sisi calls for partial lifting of arms embargo on ‘Libyan army’
[LIBYANEXPRESS] Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sissi on Tuesday called for lifting the seven-year-long UN arms embargo on the "Libyan army."

Al-Sisi issued his appeal at a gathering of foreign media figures held on the sidelines of the World Youth Forum now underway in the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh, according to Egypt’s official MENA news agency.

"We demand that the [UN] embargo on arming the Libyan army be lifted, even partially, to allow it to strengthen its capabilities," al-Sissi said.

He went on to assert that non-state "armed militias" should play no role in ensuring the region’s security.

"We support the Libyan army as the national army authorized to maintain order and security," he said.

"The continuation of Libya’s current situation will only attract terrorist elements, which will ultimately serve to threaten Libya’s neighbors," he added.

Army authorities interview abused child maid
[DAWN] Army authorities have interviewed 11-year-old Kinza Bashir, a domestic employee who was allegedly physically abused by a serving army official and her husband, a doctor, who had employed her.

According to sources close to the investigation, the child spoke of her ordeal in a confidential one-on-one session and showed them marks of abuse.

Army authorities had sought her records and asked the Child Protection Bureau for an interview with the victim as one of the suspects in the case is serving as an information and computer information technology officer at General Headquarters.

The victim, who is from Faisalabad
...formerly known as Lyallpur, the third largest metropolis in Pakistain, the second largest in Punjab after Lahore. It is named after some Arab because the Paks didn't have anybody notable of their own to name it after...
, was brought back to Rawalpindi by the police once the case came to light and moved to the Child Protection Bureau.

"Young Kinza is not going to school like the other girls staying with the Child Protection Bureau because she has only been staying here for her case," a bigwig told Dawn. He added that she is feeling well and in safe custody. Her parents have been permitted to visit her once a week.

Since one of her employers is an army officer her case was sent by the police to military authorities.

The woman’s husband was incarcerated

by police and remanded to three-day custody. He will be produced before the court today (Tuesday). He had previously sought interim bail, and was arrested after his interim bail was rejected.

Police said the man had denied that he or his wife tortured the child, but said in a statement that she would leave the house without informing them because of which she had been slapped once or twice.

A medical examination and X-ray report have confirmed that the victim was physically assaulted. She has two fractured ribs, but no other bone injuries to her skull, shoulder or left arm; she had complained of severe pain in her arm.

Britain
Senior British Islamophobe escapes terror charges
[PRESSTV] Prosecutors in Britannia have decided to downplay threats posed by a senior Islamophobic figure who touted attacks against Moslems and immigrants colonists, saying evidence against the man, who allegedly built bombs in his home for a planned attack on Moslems, was "insufficient" to charge him with terror-related offences.

The Independent newspaper said in a report on its website on Tuesday that Matthew Glynn, 37, had not been charged with terror offences because the prosecution did not allege that Glynn was planning to use the homemade bombs in an attack.

However,
the man who has no enemies isn't anybody and has never done anything...
there has been sufficient evidence from Glynn’s activity online suggesting that he was in fact planning a fatal attack on Moslems, especially in Bristol, where he lives.

The independent said Glynn’s Facebook posts had indicated anti-Moslem and extreme right-wing views while he shared numerous videos from the anti-Islam Britannia First, an bad boy group which is now banned and its leaders have been tossed in the clink
Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out!
Many of Glynn’s posts liked in the social media were devoted to weapons and military memorabilia like an ax manufacturer, the report said, while the Islamophobic figure also followed pages on Facebook like "World Against Islamism", "Stop Islamification Wake Up World" and "Exposing Islam".

#1  The Independent article Iran PressTV references is quite interesting. As background at the end of the article one reads:

The most recent statistics on terror arrests show that the number of white suspects being detained has overtaken those of Asian appearance for the first time in more than a decade.

White suspects accounted for 38 per cent of terror-related arrests, followed by those of Asian appearance on 37 per cent and black suspects on 9 per cent in the year to June.

The demographics of terrorists in prison, where Islamists make up the majority, is also changing, as the number of far-right extremists jailed rises.

European Union extends sanctions on Venezuela for a year
[Al Jazeera] The European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
has extended its sanctions against crisis-hit Venezuela until November 2019, ramping up pressure on President Nicolas Maduro's government.

The bloc had imposed an arms embargo in November 2017 and added various officials to the sanctions list over the course of this year, most recently in June in response to Maduro's re-election during polls marred by an opposition boycott and claims of vote-rigging.

The extension on Tuesday came for what the EU said were human rights

violations and undermining of democracy and the rule of law under Maduro.

There was no immediate comment from Venezuela's socialist government.

Israeli firm says info for 62 million US voters found for sale online
[IsraelTimes] An Israeli cyber security firm says it has uncovered a databank with information on 62 million US voters in 17 states up for sale, Haaretz reports.

ClearSky says it discovered the data pool last week, which includes information on voters’ political opinions.

"We provide focused alerts to entities in Israel and abroad, and in order to do that, we have to track attackers through a variety of methods. As part of our tracking, we monitor markets where cyberattackers try to market their dubious goods, and that’s how we found the data pool on American voters ahead of Election Day. The data are fairly up-to-date. Some were last updated in 2017 and some in 2015," ClearSky’s Boaz Dolev tells Haaretz.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Israel lawmakers to debate death penalty bill for Palestinian ‘terrorists’
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Israel’s parliament will renew debate next week on a bill that would make it easier to sentence Paleostinian attackers to death, Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman said Tuesday while vowing to have it passed.

"After over three years of a stubborn struggle, the death penalty
for snuffies law will finally be brought to the law committee next Wednesday (November 14), and then for its first reading in the Knesset plenum," Lieberman said on Twitter.

"We won’t relent or stop until completing the mission."

The bill, which passed a preliminary vote by the full parliament in January, would ease the requirements military courts in the occupied West Bank must meet to sentence Paleostinians convicted of "terrorist" crimes to death.

As the law stands now, a panel of three military judges must unanimously approve any death penalty in military courts.

The new bill, planned by members of Lieberman’s Yisrael Beitenu party at his behest, would change the requirement to a majority instead of unanimity.

Israel has not carried out any executions since 1962, when Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann was hanged.

Israel abolished the use of capital punishment for murder in civil courts in 1954, though it can still in theory be applied for war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide, treason and crimes against the Jewish people.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed support for the death penalty in certain cases.

But a senior member of Netanyahu’s party said Tuesday that he would object to the bill since the Israeli security establishment opposed it.

"I won’t support imposing the death penalty before there’s a serious debate and decision in the government and security cabinet," Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz wrote on Twitter.

"According to the IDF (Israel Defense Forces), Shin Bet (internal security service) and all the security establishment not only would (the death penalty) not help the fight against terror, it would cause great damage," he said.

A law to sentence "terrorists" to death was one of Lieberman’s election promises in 2015, and government support for it was a condition for Yisrael Beitenu joining Netanyahu’s coalition.

Israeli elections are expected to be called in the coming months and politicians have been ramping up campaign rhetoric.

camp in Ngwuri Gana, Borno.and also neutralised several of the Death Eaters.

Director of Public Relations and Information of NAF, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, said this in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja and said that the operation was carried out on Monday.

Daramola said that murderous Moslems were also neutralised in the operation, which was carried out on intelligence reports.

He disclosed that the reports indicated that the settlement was one of the locations from where the turbans launched attacks against troops’ positions and villages around Kumshe.

He said that Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions later confirmed the presence of a large number of murderous Moslems in the settlement.

"Accordingly, the ATF launched a coordinated attack on various targets within the settlement employing Alpha Jet and F-7Ni aircraft as well as Mi-35 attack helicopters leading to the destruction of BHT Communication Centre," he said.

The front man said that NAF, working in concert with surface forces, would sustain the tempo of operations with a view to destroying all remnants of the turbans in Borno.

Yemeni army closes in on Hodeidah port amid intense battles against Houthis
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Yemeni armed forces tightened their grip on the Houthi-held coastal city of Hodeidah on Tuesday, after they cordoned off the city from the southern, southwestern and eastern sides, leaving the militia only the north as an exit.

The National Army confirmed that the legitimate forces are on the outskirts of the port of Hodeidah and are only about five kilometers away, adding that dozens of militias surrendered themselves and lay down their weapons.

The Houthis are losing control of several areas in Hodeidah after a comprehensive military operation launched by the National Army and resistance forces was launched in recent days.

Poll Workers in Texas Tell Undercover Project Veritas Reporter That Dreamers Can Vote
[PJMedia] Project Veritas was on the ground in Texas today checking on polling places to see if illegal immigrants colonists are being allowed to vote. The results of their efforts are infuriating if not unsurprising.
Video here.
"So let's just say my boyfriend is a Dreamer, but he's registered to vote. He just needs his I.D., right?" a Project Veritas undercover journalist asked a poll worker.

"Uh-huh, that's it," Deborah Brooks-Wims, the poll worker, replied.

The news hound made sure the poll worker understood what she was saying. "Some people are questioning whether it's legal since he's not a citizen, but he was able to register," she said.

"If he has an I.D., that's all he needs, if he's registered," Wims reiterated.

"It doesn't matter that he's not a citizen?" the news hound pressed.

Wims then expressed doubt that the woman's purported boyfriend is even registered to vote because if he were registered, she said there would be nothing to worry about.

The Veritas news hound assured her that he was registered, but said they had seen something on the internet saying that non-citizens were not allowed to vote.

"No, don't pay any attention to that," Wims exclaimed. "Bring him up here."

At another polling location, the Project Veritas journalist ran into the same thing. When confronted with concerns about the Dreamer boyfriend being allowed to vote, poll worker Pam Nash was happy to be of service.

Nash said helpfully, "No, you tell him no, we got a lot of them. Mmhmm. From early voter? We got TONS of them."

"It doesn't matter that he's not a citizen?" the Veritas news hound asked.

"No, ma'am," Bash replied.

Gee, maybe President Trump wasn't too far off when he said there were millions of illegal votes in 2016.

In fact, a study in June of 2017 estimated that as 5.7 million noncitizens may have voted in the 2008 election.
