The Truth About Income Inequality
h/t Instapundit
Never in American history has the debate over income inequality so dominated the public square, with Democratic presidential candidates and congressional leaders calling for massive tax increases and federal expenditures to redistribute the nation’s income. Unfortunately, official measures of income inequality, the numbers being debated, are profoundly distorted by what the Census Bureau chooses to count as household income.

The published census data for 2017 portray the top quintile of households as having almost 17 times as much income as the bottom quintile. But this picture is false. The measure fails to account for the one-third of all household income paid in federal, state and local taxes. Since households in the top income quintile pay almost two-thirds of all taxes, ignoring the earned income lost to taxes substantially overstates inequality.

The Census Bureau also fails to count $1.9 trillion in annual public transfer payments to American households. The bureau ignores transfer payments from some 95 federal programs such as Medicare, Medicaid and food stamps, which make up more than 40% of federal spending, along with dozens of state and local programs. Government transfers provide 89% of all resources available to the bottom income quintile of households and more than half of the total resources available to the second quintile.

In all, leaving out taxes and most transfers overstates inequality by more than 300%, as measured by the ratio of the top quintile’s income to the bottom quintile’s. More than 80% of all taxes are paid by the top two quintiles, and more than 70% of all government transfer payments go to the bottom two quintiles.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Live: the House’s Trump Impeachment hearings starting at 10 a.m. ET
An item from the Times of Israel liveblog, which today is almost entirely about Palestinian Islamic Jihad rockets from Gaza.
[IsraelTimes] While Israel is focused on rocket attacks and fighting with Islamic Jihad in Gaza, the US is awaiting the start of the televised portion of impeachment hearings against US President Donald Trump.

The hearings are set to kick off at 10 a.m. (5 p.m. Israel time) and promise to provide plenty of drama for those looking for a break from rocket sirens and the like.

Bill Taylor, the acting US ambassador to Ukraine, has arrived on Capitol Hill to testify.
CNN is broadcasting live here, in case you want to watch or post the YouTube thingy in comments for the rest of us, dear Reader. Or just click on the headline to watch for yourself — the video can be seen there, too.

Police Besiege Hong Kong Campus in Nighttime Clashes With Student Protesters
[Epoch Times] A Hong Kong university turned into a battleground on the evening of Nov. 12 as riot police fired water cannon, tear gas, and rubber bullets amid intense standoffs with protesters.

At nightfall, police approached the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in the New Territories area, firing volleys of tear gas at students who built makeshift barricades to prevent officers from entering. Students threw bricks and petrol bombs at the police in response.

Violent Clashes

Earlier in the day, riot police charged into the Sha Tin campus of CUHK and made multiple arrests. Tear gas billowed across the university’s sports ground as protesters fled advancing police. Police also fired tear gas inside City University in the Kowloon Tong area.

Protesters had blocked roads near the two schools on the morning of Nov. 12 amid calls for a citywide strike, in widespread anger over the death of a 22-year-old protester, Alex Chow Tsz-lok.

Chow, a computer engineering student, died on Nov. 8 after falling from a parking garage following clashes with police in the neighborhood of Tseung Kwan O.

Economy
The US could end up running on gasoline forever, leaving electric vehicles to China and Europe
[Business Insider] In the decade I've been covering the auto industry, I've never seen a bigger mismatch between market expectations for electric vehicles and market realities.

Back in 2010, I was standing in the parking lot of Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles to hear then-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn proclaim that by 2020, 10% of the auto market worldwide would be electric. The occasion was the introduction of Nissan's Leaf EV, a car that's still on sale today, even though Ghosn's career is in ruins as he awaits trial in Japan on allegations of financial malfeasance.

The global market for plug-in electric vehicles ‐ and that's plug-in gas-electric hybrids as well all-electric battery vehicles, aka BEVs ‐ stand at about 2% on the eve of Ghosn's benchmark year.

A decade is more than enough time for a market to develop for a new type of vehicle. It's happened again and again, with everything from muscle cars to front-wheel-drive sedans to minivans. That EV sales growth has been so weak, relative to expectations, means consumers fundamentally don't want the cars.

It gives me no joy to report this. In the US ‐ the most competitive market ‐ consumers don't want hybrids, either. They do want SUVs and pickups. While this trend has been great for automakers' bottom lines (SUVs and pickups are highly profitable), it's not going to rescue the planet from climate change. I have three children and I don't want them to inherit blistering winds in summer and savage hurricanes in winter.

#3  1. China burns more coal than the rest of the world combined.

2. I'm not sure Carlos Ghosn would still be under investigation or undergoing trial if he hadn't earlier spilled the beans about how much Nissan was losing on the heavily subsidized Leaf. (Which is a car that, if I had to buy an electric car, I'd be much more likely to buy than a Tesla).

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Wayne Allyn Root - The Real Ukraine Scandal Leads to the Clinton Foundation
[WeAreSC - Oct 2019 article] President Trump has the highest approval rating among Republicans in history. 95%. No one is impeaching this president.

Now, let’s discuss why this is happening.

Ukraine donated more money to the Clinton Foundation than China, UK, France, Germany or Saudi Arabia.

Why would all this cash be coming from tiny Ukraine?

Because tiny Ukraine was the recipient of billions of dollars in US-taxpayer funded aid. It’s a million miles away. No one was watching. Leading Democrats extorted kickbacks on all this US foreign aid.

Democrats under Obama got rich. Democrats treated Ukraine as their personal fiefdom. This is how politics works in the DC Swamp.

I’ve been writing about the role of the Clinton Foundation for years. It’s my opinion the central role of the Clinton Foundation is to extort and launder bribes from foreign countries.

But if I’m wrong, why is this US charity based offshore? A charity owes no taxes on donations. So why not base your bank accounts in the USA?

Because they don’t have to report to the US government what comes in, or where the money is going. Simple: Offshore = no reporting. The Clinton Foundation could not afford to have anyone look at their books.

In my opinion, Hillary was running her version of the Gambino Crime Family slush fund. Jimmy Hoffa and the teamsters had nothing on the Clintons. And everyone in the Democrat Party and Deep State got a piece, to insure no one would rat.

Ukraine is the key to this massive Democrat scandal. But Biden was just the tip of the iceberg. This is all about the Obama and Clinton Crime Families.

I believe Trump’s phone call to Ukraine’s president set off alarm bells. Trump is digging in places no one has ever dared dig before. He could expose the extortion and bribery racket of leading Democrats. That’s why the Deep State decided to come after Trump. He’s messing with their livelihood. He’s upsetting their apple cart. If he’s allowed to investigate, the jig is up.

I believe Obama named Biden his sacrificial lamb, just in case Hillary didn’t win and all of this could not be covered up. Biden is a crook. But he’s a careless fool too. It was easy to make him the fall guy.

Trust me. This is Obama and Hillary’s scandal. Biden is just an order taker.

So, let me make this clear to Democrats: We have your number. Justice will be served. And you’re never, ever impeaching our hero, President Trump.

This isn’t Ukraine. We don’t punish the investigator in the United States of America. We punish the criminals.

Enter Joe Biden. Few in the Democrat Party wanted an old white guy as the nominee anyway. Especially Obama. In order to frame Trump, Biden had to be sacrificed. In my opinion, this second-hand "whistleblower" was meant to kill two birds with one stone: Trump and Biden. Biden is the Democrats’ fall guy.

But the real story is about the Clintons, the Clinton Foundation, Obama, Pelosi, Kerry and many other powerful Democrats. Their fingerprints are all over Ukraine. Forget about the high-paying jobs for their family members. This goes much deeper. touched the third rail of Democrat/Deep State/DC Swamp politics. He asked Ukraine’s President to investigate massive Democrat corruption and theft of taxpayer money.

Suddenly alarm bells went off at the DNC. I believe Trump is about to expose the biggest scandal in US political history. Trump is about to put powerful people in prison. Trump is about to destroy the Democrat Party and expose the Deep State. Trump is not getting thrown out of office. Not with his remarkable record of economic success for the average American worker. Not going to happen.

63 million Trump voters will insure that never happens. We have your back, Mr. President.

#2  The folks at Wikipedia don't like him.

Root is known for spreading conspiracy theories[20][25][26] and false information.[27]

Root was a leading proponent of the conspiracy theory that President Barack Obama was not born in the United States.[28] At one point[when?], he falsely claimed that Obama was not a student at Columbia University;[25] in a 2012 interview with Sean Hannity, he said he believed Obama was a "foreign exchange student" there.[26] He has repeatedly described Obama as a "Marxist, anti-American, anti-Israel, globalist, middle class-hating, Muslim sympathizer".[26] In 2017, he claimed that Obama was gay, called him "Bathhouse Barry" and said that he had info from Obama's "friends in Chicago" about his "sordid past".[26] In 2014, he described Obama as a "Manchurian candidate", possibly hired by the Bilderberg Group to destroy the United States and "kill all of us".[26]

He promoted conspiracy theories around the murder of Seth Rich, and at various times suggested that Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Hillary Clinton, Donna Brazile, Bill Clinton, Eric Schneiderman and John Podesta were involved in the murder.[26]

He may have missed a few points, but he's certainly headed in the right direction.

Watchdog report on Russia probe nears public release
WASHINGTON (AP) ‐ The Justice Department’s watchdog is nearing the release of its report on the early stages of the FBI’s Russia investigation, a document likely to revive debate about a politically charged probe that shadowed President Donald Trump’s administration from the outset.

The inspector general in recent days has invited witnesses and their lawyers who were interviewed for the report to review portions of a draft this week and next, a critical final step toward making the document public, according to multiple people familiar with the process who insisted on anonymity to discuss it.

As part of that process, the people will have opportunities to raise concerns or suggest potential edits, making it unclear precisely when in the coming weeks a final version could be ready for release. Inspector General Michael Horowitz told Congress in a letter last month that he did not expect a lengthy review period and that he intended to make as much of the report public as possible, with minimal redactions.

An Open Letter to Greta Thunberg

[FrontPage] ...Yes, we have betrayed you: by capitulating the world of leadership to bored, attention-deficit children who spout bromides, platitudes and slogans that a rudderless and morally relativistic culture accepts because a significant number of its denizens have become intellectually bankrupt and morally lazy.

The logical endpoint of your ecological vision would see us living in primeval conditions eking out an existence in jungle swamps in which we would regard poisonous snakes and man-eating tigers as our moral equals. We would have to adapt ourselves to nature rather than adapt nature to meet our needs, like all members of civilized civilizations do. Your vision would see us foraging for mushrooms and plants without knowing which were inimical to our digestive systems. Under your system we would swelter from heat, die from rampant plagues and starvation because there will be no air-conditioning units, no sophisticated plumbing and irrigations and sewer systems, no anti-bacterial soap made from animal matter, no pesticides and chemicals to sanitize our food and drinking supplies: just one primordial swamp of human putrefaction.
IMO, it's all our fault for giving our educational into the hands of pretend intellectuals.

#1  ...Wanna see the ultimate result of what Pippi Longface wants? Try and find a copy of D. Keith Mano's The Bridge:

"...Whereas it has been ascertained irrefutably by the Council's Emergency Committee on Respiration that the process of breathing has and will continue to destroy and maim innumerable forms of microscopic biological life, we of the Council, convened in full, have decided that man in good conscience can no longer permit this wanton destruction of our fellow creatures, whose right to exist is fully as great as ours. It is therefore decreed that men, in spontaneous free will and contrition, voluntarily accede to the termination of their species. . . It is hoped bretheren, that you will donate your physical bodies to the earth in such a manner that the heinous crimes of murder and pollution committed by our race throughout history may in some small way find redress."

And it gets much, much better from there. The world of The Bridge makes the world in the Instapundit quote look like Vegas on a Friday night.

#10  "Believe in climate change as though it's a religion, it's not, it's science"

Science is reliable precisely because belief is incompatible with science.

Once belief sets in science turns into pseudoscience which is far more dishonest and dangerous than bona fide religion.

And now the Deep Staters are dropping the pretense that they're trying to save democracy. They now admit that it's just what their critics said, a coup.

Looks like a trend: calling things by their rightful names. Clarifying.

Hillary Clinton Says She Is Being Urged To Run By Many, Many, Many Voices In Her Head
[Babylon Bee] UK‐In an interview with the BBC, Hillary Clinton said she is being urged to run for president in 2020 by "many, many, many" voices in her head.

"I'm under enormous pressure from many, many, many voices in my head to think about it," she said. She went on, elaborating on all the voices that echo inside her head all day long. "There's Bob---he's nice. And Carl, he's a swell guy, very supportive. Then there's this voice that sounds like Christopher Walken. He's kind of a jerk sometimes, but even he's on board with me running again."

Pressed for a solid figure, she said there's "at least a few thousand" of these voices that want her to run, and she promised to think about it in order to appease the voices. Clinton also said the voices have told her she's done a great job as president in her first term and they "can't wait" to see how much she can accomplish for the country should she be elected a second time.

Adam Schiff blasted as 'lying sack of excrement'
[WND] PALM BEACH, Florida -- As Democrats prepare for televised hearings this week in connection with their effort to impeach President Donald Trump, the congressman leading the charge to oust the commander in chief is being publicly slammed as a serial liar.

"Adam Schiff is a lying sack of excrement!" radio talk-show his Rush Limbaugh exclaimed on his national broadcast Tuesday, adding that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi "chose a bug-eyed, lying sack of excrement to be the face of this."

"We've documented the lies," Limbaugh continued. "The guy and [Eric] Swalwell were inseparable in this. They both claim they've got evidence of Trump colluding with Russia. They both say it's clearly obvious, it's clearly visible, it's right there. They've never produced it 'cause they don't have it. Schiff is the guy who lied about the contents of Trump's phone call."

While many in the national news media have suggested this could be one of Trump's worst weeks in office because of the televised hearings, Limbaugh said it could be the opposite.

"This could end up being one of Trump's best weeks, because the curtain is now being pushed back," he explained.

"I think there are gonna be millions of Americans who are going to have the chance, anyway, who haven't been following this wall-to-wall like you and I have been, to see what a partisan sham this whole thing is."

Baby Trump Balloon-Slasher Says He's Never Seen Liberals ‘Mad About Chopping Up A Baby'
h/t Instapundit
Hoyt Deau Hutchinson, the man who allegedly stabbed the Baby Trump balloon Saturday in Tuscaloosa, reportedly defended his actions during a Monday morning call to a radio show.

The incident occurred as protesters gathered outside the Alabama/LSU football game because President Donald Trump was in attendance ‐ and according to reporting from AL.com, Hutchinson told host Rick Burgess of the "Rick & Bubba Show" that the protest was what got under his skin.

Hutchinson described the scene, saying, "I got so fired up when I rolled by the balloon and I rolled down the window and I said something to them and I figured they saw me. I figured only way I was going to get close enough to that balloon was to blend in. (I) went and bought me an Alabama shirt and walked up like I was walking to the game and like I was going to take a picture with (the Trump balloon). I was so fired up. I was shaking I was so mad."

After he slashed a hole in the balloon, Hutchinson was arrested and charged with felony first degree criminal mischief ‐ he claimed to have yelled out "Trump 2020" while police were taking him away. (RELATED: Police Arrest Man For Allegedly Slashing ’Baby Trump’ Balloon At Alabama-LSU Football Game)

Hutchinson explained to Burgess that he was just tired of people not taking a stand, prompting the host to ask, "This was your turning of the temple tables?"

"Yes. It comes a point when you gotta take a stand," Hutchinson replied. "We don’t have two parties anymore. We have good vs. evil. When you got one party that says it’s OK to kill babies and by the way, this is the first time I’m ever seen a liberal get mad about chopping up a baby."

Hutchinson was reportedly released on $2,500 bond.

Slain Trump Balloon Rises Again Three Days Later.

TUSCALOOSA, AL. The famous big baby Trump balloon was stabbed to death in Tuscaloosa over the weekend.

Followers mourned its death. But when some women came to pay their respects to the downed balloon three days later, they were shocked to find the balloon was rising again.

"It's a miracle!" cried awed onlookers as the balloon slowly began to reinflate itself and ascend into the heavens. "Just as it was prophesied!"

"Go, therefore, and make America great again," the balloon said. "And behold, I will be with you always. Or at least for another seven or eight terms."

The balloon rose and rose until it disappeared from sight, hidden by the clouds.

Really, what you'll need soon is for the Right to play unfair, hit hard and swagger in the face of the Left. It's not the conservative way, but it's what turns tables now. When a dyke activist shouts in your face, some guy beats a drum around to obstruct speech, hit them. Punch them in their triggered face and break their ribs. Trigger them with a MAGA hat, then beat them down.

It is up to people to retain control of their country, take their country back. The courts and senates are only as good as the disconnected, obtuse men and women in them.

#17  If a guy in my country were to hold a flag upside down, he'd have to be escorted to jail by a hundred cops. People should be respectfully afraid of the majority will, their symbols and their elected Executive, and by representation the majority.

The sanctity of 'old timey' things is where the Left first hacks away, as with parenting, prayer, icons and symbols. Then it mashes them into powder, bans them, installs its own ersatz symbols. Their game has continued for decades in the media, hollywood, through advertising. It applies psychology and great strategy, as only a satanic hive mind can create.

A Trump baby, blond with a weird skin tone - it's a direct association of race, magnified. Trump's everyman persona, non-experience as a conniving Washington hack, is pictured as infantile. A floating balloon means it's a lightweight challenge, a boogeyman we will easily destroy, the President is something only a puerile conservative mind can give weight to.

I congratulate your citizen. There is one certified set of brass balls in Tuscaloosa, at a time when people are afraid to defend christians on subways from wild homos.

Interagency Consensus: Another Term For: Deep State
[Red State] As the Ukraine phone call saga unfolds, those of us following the drama have become aware of a new term, "The Interagency." The Interagency, is the de rigeur term for what has improperly become a decision making component of the National Security apparatus that bypasses or in extreme cases, overturns the Article II authority of the President of these United States. This unelected group of individuals representing different agencies (hence the term, "Interagency") appears to believe that they, by virtue of their vast knowledge and experience, should be the rightfully making foreign policy decisions, not the duly elected President.

This attitude has become so prolific, that serving military officers seem to believe that their opinions outweigh those of The President. Moreover, they appear to believe that they, not The President, actually get to determine U.S. Foreign Policy. Witness the opening statement to Congress by Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman, a mid level staffer on the National Security Council, emphasis mine
In the Spring of 2019, I became aware of outside influencers promoting a false narrative of Ukraine inconsistent with the consensus views of the interagency. This narrative was harmful to U.S. government policy. While my interagency colleagues and I were becoming increasingly optimistic on Ukraine’s prospects, this alternative narrative undermined U.S. government efforts to expand cooperation with Ukraine.

"...harmful to U.S, government policy." Where does this young officer get off?! Doesn’t he know that according to Article II of the U.S. Constitution, that it is The President of these United States who determines foreign policy? Doesn’t he know from his attendance at the Army’s Command and General Staff Officer Course that he is a staff officer? Doesn’t he know that his role is merely advisory? Apparently not.

Giving him a huge benefit of the doubt, I believe at some time in the past, he possibly did. But like many in the deep state, those who were once apolitical, he has become enamored of his own abilities and his own place in the government universe. I believe these folks truly believe that they, not the elected officials who happen to pass through every four years, should be determining the course of U.S. foreign Policy and Intelligence. They, after all, are ever so much more qualified to decide such things...at least that is what’s apparent from Vindman’s testimony.

Suspected suicide bombing at police headquarters in Indonesia's Medan
[Jpost] A suspected suicide kaboom outside police headquarters in Indonesia's city of Medan in North Sumatra killed the perpetrator and maimed some officers on Wednesday, police said, just a month after an attack on a former security minister.

The motive for Wednesday's attack was not immediately clear, but Indonesia, the world’s most populous Moslem-majority country, has suffered a resurgence in homegrown militancy in recent years, with some attacks targeting police.

The suspected jacket wallah had died in the attack, a front man for the North Sumatra police, Tatan Dirsan Atmaja, said by telephone, adding that some coppers were maimed in the blast at 8:40 a.m. (0140 GMT).

Television broadcast images of people rushing out of buildings around the headquarters.

National police front man Dedi Prasetyo said the blast happened in a car park near an area where people were queuing for clearance letters from police.

"We're on alert right now," Prasetyo told Kompas TV. "The explosion didn't reach the center for the clearance letter service, it was just in a parking lot."

The Impeachment Hearings Are the Beginning of the End
[Townhall] Benjamin Franklin once said, "When you’re testing to see how deep the water is, never use two feet." That’s a bit of simple wisdom many in the current Congress should have heeded. As the long-awaited public impeachment hearings kick off, one thing has become painfully obvious: the Democrats are in trouble. They have gone all in on their quest for impeachment and now they have to deliver, not just to their base, but to the country. After three long years of promising proof of Trump’s corruption, collusion, and contempt for the very basic institutions of our government, Democrats now have to turn over their cards and show the country what they have. If they can’t produce a smoking gun, if they don’t have a knock-out punch, then their party is in serious trouble.

From "quid pro quo" to "extortion" to "abuse of power," impeachment hungry Democrats have tossed around plenty of buzzwords and innuendo, backed up by hearsay, supposition, and biased opinion. Through carefully coordinated leaks and a selectively stage-managed production of transcripts, Adam Schiff and his team have been able to paint a very fuzzy picture of what they would like the country to believe, that President Trump used the full force of his office to pursue a political end. Yet what they have not been able to do is close the deal. They have not been able to establish that any of their beliefs are facts, that any of their dreams are realities. And it is not going to get any easier.

Nancy Pelosi has consistently promised that she would not pursue impeachment absent clear and overwhelming bipartisan support. With all Members of Congress able to review the transcripts of the closed-door testimony, as well as consider any other evidence thus far collected, Democrats have failed to sway even a single Republican vote, not to mention move the needle with the general public. That is not a good sign considering that Democrats have held all of the cards and controlled all of the optics thus far.

Now, open, public hearings are to commence. Still under the control of Adam Schiff, yet televised to an entire nation. Now, the general public will see a cross-examination of witnesses. The public will hear "my opinion" nearly as often as they have heard "quid pro quo." The pubic will hear "I learned secondhand" at least as much as they have heard a compliant media say, "witnesses have confirmed." Perhaps most importantly, the country will witness every single time Adam Schiff overrules a Republican question or request to call a witness to refute the narrative. In short, even though Schiff and the Democrats will still have an iron clad grip on the process, their unfettered control of the optics and narrative will fade, along with any hope of bipartisan support ‐ public or Congressional. Their one-sidedness will be exposed for all to see.

The question then becomes, after failing to garner any Republican support, or to bring the public along on their quest, would the Democrats still move towards a formal impeachment? They will undoubtedly be able to muster the 218 votes in the House, but where would that leave them? The matter must, Constitutionally, move to the Senate, where impeachment minded Democrats are not in control. A Senate where a formal impeachment trial would generate considerably more national attention than the House hearings. A Senate where each and every witness Adam Schiff declined to call will be compelled to testify. A Senate where dreams of President Trump’s removal may be dead on arrival, but a very public acquittal and exoneration would surely ensue.

After Gaza rocket fire, Indians tweet #IndiaWithIsrael in show of support
[Jpost] After a day of rocket fire from Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
, the top three hashtags trending on Twitter in India are #IsraelUnderFire, #IsraelUnderAttack and #IndiaWithIsrael.

Throughout the day, people across the globe posted on social media about the rising tensions between Israel and Gaza.

However,
a good lie finds more believers than a bad truth...
Israel-related hashtags were mainly trending within Israel. India was the exception and its hashtags about the rocket barrage from Gaza remained trending long after Israeli Twitter began focusing on other things.

Indian politician, Kapil Mishra, tweeted "Time to stand strongly with Israel #IsraelUnderFire."

"Israel is under attack by Terrorists from Gaza. India is with Israel. #IsraelUnderFire," Prashant Patel Umrao, an Advocate at the Supreme Court and Delhi High Court, tweeted.

Both Mishra and Umrao, received praise from Israel’s Deputy Chief of Mission in New Delhi, India Maya Kadosh, who retweeted their posts and thanked them.

Kadosh, who started a list of Indian Twitter accounts that talk about Israel, also tweeted about the situation in Israel.

The two countries have enjoyed good diplomatic relations and in August 2019, Indian and Israeli officials traded tweets in honor of Friendship Day.

"Happy #FriendshipDay2019 India!" The Israeli Embassy in India wrote on Twitter. "May our ever strengthening friendship & #growingpartnership touch greater heights."

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi replied to the message, writing in Hebrew, "Thank you. I wish a happy Friendship Day to the wonderful citizens of Israel and to my friend [Benjamin Netanyahu]."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has a close relationship with Modi, also joined in on the friendship tweets and responded to the Indian prime minister.

"Thank you, my friend, India PM @narendramodi," Netanyahu responded. "I could not agree with you more."

Turkish convoy kills protesters in Northern Syria: SDF
Totalitarians do not respond to protests like civilized societies do.
[Rudaw] Several non-combatants were killed on Tuesday while protesting a Ottoman Turkish-Russian military convoy in the town of Kobane, according to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The patrol was the fifth to take place in the area and was met by locals hurling stones at the passing tanks.

On the same day, hundreds of Kobane locals gathered in Women's Square to protest the Ottoman Turkish invasion.

"Ottoman Turkish army is firing live bullets on Kurdish protesters and killing them in broad day light [sic], before [the] eyes of the whole world, " said SDF front man Mustafa Bali in a tweet.

The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...Qatar's satrapy in Asia Minor...
described the demonstrations as a "provocation", claiming it took precautions for the sake of the safety of civilians against "terrorist" protesters.

"The fifth Ottoman Turkish-Russian joint land patrol conducted in the Ayn al-Arab [Kobane] region east of the Euphrates is continuing with due care and diligence for the safety of both civilians and our military personnel despite provocation by terrorists," said a statement by Turkey’s defense ministry.

Footage from the scene showed men and women of various ages throwing stones at the Russian-Ottoman Turkish convoy.

"Long live the resistance of the SDF," said a female protester.

Another video showed an elderly woman throwing stones at the convoy, saying that they will not bow to the Ottoman Turkish invasion.

"We as mothers and people of Kobane do not want Erdogan to step on our soil and the blood of our children. We will attack with stones as long as we can and we do," she said.

On the same day, hundreds of Kobane locals gathered in Women's Square to protest the Ottoman Turkish invasion.

Protesters chanted against Ottoman Turkish President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really more important...
"Mr Trump....Erdogan is the successor of Baghdadi" could be heard, reported SDF-affiliated ANHA news outlet.

"We will resist any agreement aimed at our existence, our dignity and our identity" they chanted.

Previous joint patrols involving both military vehicles and drones have also been held in Darbasiya, Qamishli and Malikiya (Derik) since November 1. The Tuesday patrol is the second to take place in Kobane.

A Ottoman Turkish armored vehicle reportedly ran over a Kurdish man in a patrol in Malikiya, killing the 25-year old.

Sudanese girl accuses ICC-wanted Mahmoud Al-Werfalli of torturing, killing her mother
[Libya Observer] A daughter of one of the Sudanese women who were recently killed in Libya's Benghazi has accused the Libyan serial killer who is wanted by the International Criminal Court, Mahmoud al-Werfalli, of kidnapping, torturing and killing her mother.

The Sudanese girl, Reem Dawood - daughter of the woman found killed in Benghazi; Zainab al-Hadandoya - said in a local TV interview that the residents saw Mahmoud al-Werfalli speaking loudly his name after getting out of his car in front of her mother's beauty salon, adding that the CCTV of the hospital opposite to the salon had the incident on tape, yet the criminal investigation apparatus in Benghazi took the videos and claimed the cameras were not working.

The girl claimed to have a copy of the CCTV footage and said it showed al-Werfalli, adding that she possessed other footage of eyewitnesses showing al-Werfalli leading the kidnap of her mother, vowing to send her evidence to the ICC as many eyewitnesses promised to report what they had seen to help her.

She also said the ICC-wanted criminal led the torture of her mother and in one incident he let a "lion" attack her to make her scared and confess to things she hadn't done, adding that her mother's body bears marks of a lion's claws.

"Al-Werfalli shot my mother twice, once in the head and another time in the neck to kill her in cold blood." She said, coring a source from a person working under the command of al-Werfalli at al-Saiqa Force.

Zainab, the girl's mother; was kidnapped from a beauty salon in Benghazi on October 10. Her body was found the next day near the seashore in Jalyana area, bearing marks of torture and a gunshot in the head.

The Interpol has listed al-Werfalli as a wanted person for the crimes he had committed in Libya and arrest warrants issued of him by the ICC.

Rawalpindi police arrest man for raping minor boy for 4 days, filming the assault
[DAWN] Rawalpindi police have arrested a man suspected of sexually assaulting and filming a minor, City Police Officer (CPO) Faisal Rana said on Tuesday.

The suspect was previously convicted for sexually assaulting minors in Britannia, where he was working with an organization for protection of children, and was deported after he had served his prison sentence, the CCPO said. The official added that the suspect had also been tried for the same crime in Italia and was deported from there as well.

The man was arrested after a first information report (FIR) was lodged on the complaint of a 13-year-old boy's mother in the Rawat cop shoppe. The complainant alleged that the suspect forcefully took her son to a house in Bahria Town, Rawalpindi where he drugged and raped the victim for four days. The man filmed the minor as well and threatened to release the video if the victim reported the crime, the FIR said.

The FIR was lodged under Articles 367(A) (kidnapping or abducting in order to subject person to grievous hurt, slavery, etc.), 377 (unnatural offences), 337(J) (causing hurt by means of a poison) and 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement) of the Pakistain Penal Code.

Rana said that the man has confessed to raping 30 children in Pakistain and is also suspected of uploading videos of minors on the 'dark web'. Police will become a party in the cases, if parents avoid to do so due to social pressure, he added.

Saddar SP Rai Mazhar told DawnNewsTV that the suspect is a chartered accountant and an expert of the dark web. He was also providing consultancy to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Civil Secretariat's planning department for which he received Rs300,000 per month compensation from the KP government, the SP added.

In the UK, the suspect was associated with an internationally acclaimed charity, the police officer said.

The suspect is a resident of Islamabad. According to SP Mazhar, the man's wife had left him nine years ago while his parents and siblings had also detached themselves from the suspect.

EU States Must Label Products From Israeli Settlements, European Court of Justice Says
“How dare those uppity juices think themselves a normal country like any other! We’ll show them what normal looks like!”
[Ha’aretz] EU states must identify products from Israeli settlements by stating their origin on the label, the Europe
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
an Court of Justice ruled on Tuesday.

Simply indicating that goods originate in the state of Israel, when in fact they came from an occupied territory, could mislead consumers about the fact that Israel "is present in the territories concerned as an occupying power and not as a sovereign entity," the European Court of Justice (ECJ) found.
“Pack up more of the good stuff for the Asian market, Ari, and Russia wants more oranges, so that’s ok.”
Product information must allow consumers to make informed choices relating "not only to health, economic, environmental and social considerations, but also to ethical considerations," as well as the observance of international law, the court says in a statement.

"The EU considers settlements in occupied territories illegal under international law," the statement said.
The EU is wrong, but we shall leave them to simmer in their delusions.

Morales Accepts Asylum In Mexico
[THEBAGHDADPOST] Former president of Bolivia Evo Morales is off to Mexico after accepting a political asylum offer.

One of Latin America's longest-serving leaders, Morales stepped down as president after three weeks of deadly protests in Bolivia. Protesters and opposition accused Morales of rigging the vote in Bolivia's October election. Morales, who was the country's first indigenous president and had served for nearly 14 years, has denied the accusations.

Morales has described the situation as a coup by Bolivia's military and opposition.

Despite initially saying he would stay in Bolivia, Morales announced his departure to Mexico on Monday.

He wrote on Twitter: "It hurts to leave the country for political reasons, but I will always be looking out. Soon I will return with more strength and energy."

Mexico's secretary of foreign affairs confirmed Monday night on Twitter that Morales had accepted the political asylum offer.

Bolivia's vice president and leaders of both chambers of congress have also resigned, making opposition politician Jeanine Añez next in line as interim president. She says she'll step into the role and call for new elections.

Home Front: WoT
Cartels are growing pot in our national Forests where their heavy use of pesticides and litter stand to permanently damage the ecosystem.
[WNYC] Water and wildlife in the nation's public forests are slowly being poisoned by insecticides and other chemicals used in illegal marijuana operations, say forest police and researchers. They warn that the potential environmental damage could last generations.

Many of the grows are the work of highly organized drug cartels that take advantage of the forests' thick canopy to help hide their operations. Some sites go undetected for years.

"The true crime here is the fact that they're killing off basically America's public lands, killing off the wildlife, killing off our water," says Kevin Mayer, a U.S. Forest Service law enforcement assistant special agent in charge. "This is stuff that, you know, it's not gonna repair itself."
But keep that war on drugs going! It's succeeding so well! Mexico is a failed state that is exporting its toxic culture to us, but surely victory is just around the corner. All we have to do is continue the policies that have brought us to this point.

#11  Legalizing weed is a great idea that has wide support among the American people. Colorado has new ambulances, new fire trucks, new schools because of all the new revenue.

#13  It isn't legal in Colorado dumbass. It has been de-criminalized so that in certain circumstances using pot is not against the law. In fact there are quite a few counties, if not the majority, where sale is against the law. If you had read #10, or knew what you are talking about, you would know the difference.

As for the straw men, when you argue legalize drugs, the de facto 'end the war on drugs' crap, those are the exact physiological and moral comparisons you make.

Avoiding the other points is cowardly, because get this chuck, there is plenty of illegal growing going on in Colorado because of the taxes.

Fire truck, ambulances, new schools - ever get curious why that school shooting didn't get hardly any attention? My guess is those high school age perps were stoned out of their gourds. Consistently.

You want to talk pot decriminalization, fine, dandy, tighten up your posts. It must be admitted that there will be some very close parallels to alcohol problems, as well as a few more, such that with edibles there is no hint of use or abuse other than unsober behavior. The alcoholics of pot are still going to drive to the store after running out, there will be driving under the influence, there will be unproductive and lost days of work, everything which happens with alcohol but here you have expanded the number of people who do abuse to alcohol + pot.

#14  "Legalizing weed is a great idea that has wide support among the American people."

At times this has also been said about:

Slavery
Eugenics
Banning alcohol
Chemically castration children "born the wrong gender"

Popular doesn't mean correct. No sane person trusts a pothead with any task more complicated than mopping -- and even then, only when there is plenty time for the floor to dry after they're done.

But, like so many other things, smoking dope is easier than thinking.

#15  I bought legal weed from Colorado this summer.

"My guess is those high school age perps were stoned out of their gourds. Consistently."

What the hell, grandpa? Weed doesn't make you fly into a homicidal rage. It makes you want to chill on the couch and eat a whole box of Oreos. Weed is about 10,000% safer than alcohol. Alcohol is a drug that DOES make people fly into homicidal rages.

I mean, you give it away with your "my guess" part. How about providing evidence for your claim? I suppose I'll give credit that an unsourced conspiracy theory isn't just yet another personal attack. Still low on the pyramid of debate, but a step up is still a step up.

The harm done by keeping weed illegal is greater than the harm done by making it legal and keeping honest people out of jail. That's why we made it legal. By vote of the people. America First!

#19  Weed doesn't make you fly into a homicidal rage. It makes you want to chill on the couch and eat a whole box of Oreos.

Sure, for the normies. But for those with a genetic predisposition to schizophrenia, like my friend’s son, it makes them get messages through the computer from the archangel Michael to stick a kitchen knife through the heart of the zombie that used to be Grandma, to stop her from poisoning Mom. He’d been smoking weed at school to help him calm down from the anxiety caused by the earliest stage of schizophrenia — because he believed that same message you just spouted, Mr. McCoy — and it drove him out of college before precipitating him into the homicidal abyss. Thank goodness they’d lokked under his bed the first time he got a three-day remand on the hospital’s mental floor, or he would have shot up the entire household with the scary black gun they found there. Now Levi serving a ten year sentence in the prison psych ward, taking his meds religiously and hoping that at the end they actually allow him to leave, because schizophrenia can’t be cured, only suppressed for the duration of medication.

Given that about 1% of the U.S. population is schizophrenic, and given that the U.S. population is about 350 million, that makes about 3.5million who could be turned into homicidal maniacs by smoking/eating/drinking tinctures of marijuana. How does that number compare to the number of Muslims likely to become jihadis?

As for the grandpa crack, even back in the day when the THC level was something like half what it is now, we all knew someone who’d gone bonkers from smoking the stuff.

#20  Weed doesn't make you fly into a homicidal rage It makes you want to chill on the couch and eat a whole box of Oreos..

You bum. You never left the 25 corridor, then you never left the couch. I've known people who re-invent the wheel and are doing fine. I've known people who get the paranoids and curl in a ball for two hours.

In the national front, there is the winningest Olympic swimmer in history who loves bong rips..on the other, a fellow who decided to shoot a US Senator in the head.

As for the grandpa crack, even back in the day when the THC level was something like half what it is now, we all knew someone who’d gone bonkers from smoking the stuff.

There is a term in Colorado they call Green Out..as in alcohol Black out. Usually involves people who are not accustomed to the stuff getting more than they anticipated.

As TW said, there are those who should avoid it like the proverbial Indians should avoid whiskey. Again, there are those who are high functioning and win snowboard trick Olympic medals. If you believe Toby Keith, he'll never smoke with Willie Nelson again. If you believe Snoop Dogg, he like riding around in a car smoking endo and sippin' gin. If you believe me, I knew a guy, closest to the couch potato stereotype you present sonny Jim, just rip and take all video game comers on the internet; that's world wide. Honestly, it was a joy to watch a pro.

Since you are a noob, I am from Kansas, incidentally grandpa would be a plains Indian compliment, but it also means that with Colorado (to our west) and Oklahoma (to our east) and with a cat lady democrat in governorship, this is an issue, so I've done my research. You claim a pot purchase in CO, so you know that everything is marked and measured and the employees have earmarks on the uppers, downers, appetite enhances and suppressors, even flavors. The lack of interest in high school students shooting up a school in Colorado is seeing the shadow of the groundhog and taking a WAG these paranoid misfit children likely had a gummy for breakfast and another for lunch as a normal day until they built a resentment for achievers.

Egypt, Fatah, UN and Russia seek a truce in Islamic Jihad vs Israel action

#2  From the liveblog: As of a few minutes ago, today’s PIJ rocket tally is over 200 for a two-day total of over 400. More are expected overnight. Israeli retaliation has killed 24 Gazans, at least half terrorists. Hamas threatens to join in the festivities instead of just offering moral support; Israel promises that if they do, Israel will start destroying buldings as they did in 2014.

Naftali Bennett seems to be happily settling into his role as defense minister. He is, as I recall, one of Bibi’s proteges, who went on to forge his own path. But having seen that conditions are not yet ripe for his own prime ministry, he has returned to the fold.

N.C. sheriff’s deputy shot in hospital ER after scuffle with suspect
[ECHO-PILOT] A sheriff’s deputy in North Carolina was shot in the leg when an inmate brought to a hospital emergency room tried to grab his gun. A nearby police officer shot and killed the inmate.

The Cumberland County sheriff’s deputy is expected to recover. No one else was injured at the sprawling regional hospital in southeastern North Carolina.

The inmate had been in jug since his arrest Tuesday on suspicion of a home invasion, the sheriff said. He was brought to the hospital for a medical problem.

Hospital patient Kaylee Ingles said she was in an exam room close to the shooting. "All I heard was yelling. He said, ’Get the (expletive) off of me!’ And that was about it. He just kept yelling that.

"I heard one shot. And then yelling ‐ ’Secure the patients!’ ‐ and then four more shots go off," she said.

Ingles shut the door and hid next to the bed until the hospital announced over the intercom that the situation was safe, she said.

The N.C. State Bureau of Investigation is reviewing the incident, as it does all officer-involved shootings.

Homeless man hurls bucket of diarrhea at woman near Hollywood Walk of Fame
[NYPOST] A homeless man dumped a bucket of "hot" diarrhea on a Los Angeles woman near the Hollywood Walk of Fame ‐ an unprovoked attack that’s left her with PTSD, she said this week.

Heidi Van Tassel said she was about to drive home from a Thai restaurant near the famed tourist area in April when the alleged assailant, Jere Blessings, dragged her out of her vehicle, news station NBC4 reported.

He pulled her into the middle of the street, where he dumped a bucket of feces over her head, she said.

"It was diarrhea. Hot liquid," Van Tassel told NBC4. "I was soaked, and it was coming off my eyelashes and into my eyes."

Referring to the amount of feces used in the attack, paramedics who treated her said that it "looked like the man was saving it up for a month," according to Van Tassel.

She said she was rushed to Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital, where she was tested for infectious diseases, NBC4 reported.

"It’s so traumatic," Van Tassel told the news station. "The PTSD that I’m dealing with is beyond anything that I’ve ever felt. There needs to be some kind of help for the victims of these crimes."

Blessings ‐ who was described as a transient who suffers from mental illness ‐ was arrested on battery charges and tossed in the clink
Drop the rod and step away witcher hands up!
, the outlet reported.

He was sent by a judge to a residential facility for people with mental health issues, but was released in August, which concerns Van Tassel, according to the news station.

"What’s the next thing he’s going to do to somebody?" she said. "If he would’ve had a knife, for sure he would’ve stabbed me."

Saudi court convicts 38 people on terrorism-related charges

...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
n court convicted 38 people on Tuesday of financing "terrorism" and declaring other Moslems as non-believers, handing out sentences ranging from 30 months to 25 years.

One of those sentenced had set up a "terrorist organization" while in prison and others committed takfir - labelling followers as non-believers - against the Saudi government, Moslem scholars and security forces, state-run Al Ekhbariya television reported.

In 2017, the oil-rich kingdom launched a crackdown on dissent, arresting scores of leaders, intellectuals and activists. Some have been put on trial for terrorism-related charges.

In April, Saudi Arabia beheaded 37 men for alleged crimes. The United Nations

Al Ekhbariya did not give the nationalities or names of those convicted out of the 41 people in total on trial, nor did the TV channel provide details about when they were arrested.

It said the specialist criminal court in Riyadh, which was set up to try terrorism cases, sentenced one man to 25 years, another to 20 years and a third to 15 years. The rest received sentences ranging from 2.5 years to 12.5 years.

The convictions can be appealed.

Saudi Arabia is an absolute monarchy where public protests and political parties are banned.

It faced an armed uprising from 2003-06 when al-Qaeda members staged attacks on residential compounds and government facilities.

The kingdom responded by arresting thousands of suspected fighters and launching a media campaign to discredit their ideology.

Southeast Asia
Australian gets 4 months in jail over drunken Bali rampage
[Al Jazeera] An Australian tourist who fly-kicked a motorcyclist and assaulted a man in his own home during a drunken rampage in Indonesia was nabbed
Please don't kill me!
for four months on Tuesday.

The ruling comes after Nicholas Carr's antics were caught in a viral video that saw him carry out a campaign of destruction in Seminyak, a popular tourist area on the Indonesian holiday island.

"The defendant Nicholas Carr is found guilty and is sentenced to four months" in jail, presiding judge Soebandi, who goes by one name, told the Denpasar District Court.

A lawyer for Carr, charged with assault and property damage, said the 26-year-old would not appeal the ruling.

He is expected to be released next month because of time already served.

In August, Carr ran barefoot on to a street and shouted expletives before the apprentice builder slammed into the bonnet of a moving car and then fly-kicked an unsuspecting cycle of violence rider.

The biker, who was thrown from the moving scooter, sustained minor injuries. Later, the pair embraced during a court hearing as Carr apologised to the victim.

Carr also shattered a convenience store's glass door before stealing a cycle of violence.

Later, he broke into a house where he assaulted the sleeping homeowner, leaving him with injuries.

He was eventually caught by locals and police and taken to a hospital.

BEHAVING BADLY IN BALI
Images circulated on social media showed Carr bloodied and bruised and trussed with hosepipe and rope.

Shortly after his arrest, Carr apologised and admitted drinking more than 10 small bottles of vodka as well as other alcohol.

After a string of embarrassing incidents by tourists, Bali officials recently warned that boorish visitors may be kicked off the island, which attracts millions annually to its palm-fringed beaches, colourful nightlife, and ancient temples.

Afghanistan
Afghanistan to release three senior Taliban prisoners: Ghani
[DAWN] Afghanistan's Caped President Ashraf Ghani
...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money...
announced on Tuesday that three high-ranking Taliban
...Arabic for students...
prisoners would be released, in an apparent exchange for two Western hostages who were kidnapped by the snuffies in 2016.

The three Taliban prisoners include Anas Haqqani, who was seized in 2014 and whose older brother is the deputy Taliban leader and head of the Haqqani network
...a branch of the Afghan Taliban, based in Pakistain. The network is a family business founded by the later Jalaluddin Haqqani...
, a notorious Taliban affiliate.

"We have decided to conditionally release three Taliban prisoners who [...] have been in Bagram prison in the custody of the Afghan government for some time," Ghani said in an announcement at the presidential palace.

He did not specify the fate of the Western hostages ‐ an Australian and an American ‐ and it was not clear when or where they would be freed. But Ghani noted in his speech that "their health has been deteriorating while in the custody of the terrorists".

He added that the release of the two professors would "pave the way" for the start of unofficial direct talks between his government and the Taliban, who long have refused to negotiate with Ghani's administration.

Ghani, flanked by his top security advisers, said the decision to release the three Taliban prisoners had been "very hard and necessary".

His announcement came one day after Inter-Services Intelligence
...the Pak military intelligence agency that controls the military -- heads of ISI typically get promoted into the Chief of Army Staff position. It serves as a general command center for favored turban groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad, tries to influence the politix of neighboring countries, and carries out a (usually) low-level war against India in Kashmir...
(ISI) chief Faiz Hameed met with Afghanistan's national security adviser Hamdullah Mohib in Kabul.

"They talked about improving the relation between the two countries," Afghanistan's national security council front man Kabir Haqmal had said.

'SERIOUSLY ILL'
In August 2016, button men wearing military uniforms kidnapped two professors of the American University of Afghanistan in the heart of Kabul.

The two, American Kevin King and Australian Timothy Weeks, later appeared looking haggard in a Taliban hostage video, with the snuffies going on to say that King was in poor health.

A Taliban source in Pakistain told AFP on Tuesday that King had been "seriously ill", and the snuffies were worried he could die in their custody.

The elite American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) opened in 2006 and has attracted a number of faculty members from Western countries.

In a statement, AUAF said it was "encouraged" to hear news of the possible release of the two professors. "While AUAF is not part of these discussions, we continue to urge the immediate and safe return of our faculty members who have been held in captivity, away from their friends and families, for more than three years," the statement read.
Tolo News adds:
President Ashraf Ghani at a press conference on Tuesday confirmed that Anas Haqqani, Haji Mali Khan and Hafiz Rashid, three Haqqani Network commanders, have been “conditionally released” in exchange for the release of two Haqqani-held professors who were abducted while working for the American University of Afghanistan (AUAF).

Anas Haqqani, Hafiz Rashid and Haji Mali Khan, leaders of the Haqqani Network, were captured outside of Afghanistan in 2014.

87 Muslim scholars, including Libya's Mufti, call for boycotting UAE
[Libya Observer] A call for boycotting the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and its goods was signed by 87 Moslem scholars, including the Mufti of Libya, Sheikh al-Sadiq al-Ghariani
...Libyan Moslem Brüderhood Grand Mufti since 2012. Issued a fatwa forbidding Libyan women from marrying foreign men. Issued a fatwa against a UN Commission on the Status of Women's report because it urged governments to protect women and girls against violence. Aligned with the GNC govt...
The call urged on businesspersons who are working in the UAE to find another country for their business and to boycott its ports as they are important sources of economic funds for Abu Dhabi.

"This boycott call is driven by the direct intervention of the UAE in several Arab and Moslem countries like Libya, Egypt, Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
, Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
and Uygurs in China. Intervening in those areas by flowing money and arms caused deaths and corruption among Moslems." The scholars said.

They said it is obvious that the UAE crimes have left millions of casualties due to its interventions in Yemen and Libya; killed, injured and displaced people, in addition to destroying properties and infrastructure that need tens of years and millions in cash to build.

The scholars said the significant part of the money used by UAE to fund arms deals and send them to destroy Moslem countries is from the businesspersons' trade work money in Abu Dhabi, let alone its exports.

"Whenever you find a war in this world, you could sense the UAE's intervention in it either secretly or publicly, buying arms and aircraft as well as mercenaries to kill Moslems and destroy their countries." The statement signed by the scholars said.

The call was based on Koranic and Prophetic words, which say the enemy should be made weak economically to stop wreaking havoc in the world.

Argentina asks Azerbaijan to arrest Iranian suspect in Jewish center bombing
[THEBAGHDADPOST] Argentina
...a country located on the other side of the Deep South. It is covered with Pampers and inhabited by Grouchos, who dance the Tangle. They used to have some islands called the Malvinas located where the Falklands are now. They're not supposed to cry for Evita...
has asked Azerbaijan to arrest a high-level Iranian adviser to the country’s supreme leader in connection with the bombing in 1994 of the Buenos Aires AMIA Jewish center, according "The Times of Israel".

Ali Akbar Velayati was scheduled to attend the Second Summit of religious world leaders in the Azerbaijani capital Baku on November 14-15.

Velayati, who was Iran’s foreign minister at the time of the terrorist attack and has been implicated in ordering the bombing, is now an adviser on international affairs to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
...the actual dictator of Iran, successor to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini...
Under Argentine law, an accused person must have the opportunity to defend himself before a judge. Since the Iranians accused in the attack, many from the upper political echelons, have not set foot on Argentine soil, it has been impossible to move the judicial process forward.

The Argentine Foreign Minister summoned the ambassador of Azerbaijan in Buenos Aires on Friday and expressed the "deep concern" of Argentina’s government over Velayati’s presence in Baku and asked for Azerbaijan’s cooperation "in order to carry out the detention for extradition purposes."

The July 18, 1994 bombing of the AMIA center killed 85 and injured more than 300. The late Argentinian prosecutor Alberto Nisman established that a Hezbollah bomber carried out the attack and that it was instigated by Iran.

Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan, the abbreviation IRGC is a cognate form of Stürmabteilung (or SA), the term Supreme Guide is a cognate form of either Shah or Führer or maybe both, and they hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
also is believed to be behind the 1992 boom-mobileing that destroyed the Israeli embassy in Buenos Aires, killing 29 and injuring 242.

Iranians have been on Interpol’s most wanted list since 2007 in connection with the bombing. They include Mohsen Rabbani, a mullah and former cultural attaché who did not travel to Colombia in 2016 after political pressure to prevent his official government visit. Rabbani is believed to be a leading figure in spreading radical Islam in Latin America.

In 2016, ahead of another Velayati trip, Argentina made requests for his arrest to Singapore and Malaysia but was not successful. Two years later, another unsuccessful request was made to Russia.

Hillary Clinton: I’m Facing ‘Enormous Pressure’ to Enter 2020 Race — I Want to ‘Retire’ Trump
I want to weigh what I did the day I met Mr. Wife...and a pony. Our odds are about equal.
[BREITBART] On Tuesday, former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Crooked Hillary Clinton
...former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, Conqueror of Benghazi, Heroine of Tuzla, formerly described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as The Thing That Wouldn't Go Away...
told BBC Radio 5 Live she was under "enormous pressure" to consider a 2020 White House run.

When asked about her future in politics, Clinton said, "I feel a sense of responsibility partly because you know my name was on the ballot, I got more votes, but ended up losing to the current incumbent in the White House who I think is really undermining our democracy in very fundamental ways. And I want to retire him."

When asked if she is absolutely ruling out a 2020 run, Clinton said, "I, as I say never, never, never say never. I will certainly tell you. I’m under enormous pressure from many, many, many people to think about it. But as of this moment, sitting here in this studio talking to you, that is absolutely not in my plans."

#7  Philanthropy Funding Government Work? There’s a Foundation for That—Several, Actually.

The CIA’s Foundation

The Central Intelligence Agency’s foundation, In-Q-Tel, serves as a venture capital tool to promote technology development for the CIA, functioning in a way that a government agency might not be able to do. By matching private investors and research institutes, In-Q-Tel provides unique private sector to private sector support for technologies that can presumably be delivered or sold to the CIA. According to its 2010 Form 990, In-Q-Tel “identifies and partners with companies to help deliver solutions to the Central Intelligence Agency and the broader U.S. intelligence community (IC) to further their missions.” There is nothing like In-Q-Tel in the nonprofit sector, and its history, in its own words, is worth reading.

If one has the right connections and means to make it happen, there's a killing to be made in this niche market of narcissistic hedonists posing as public servants. Even I, in unworthy colonial plebe, knew this guy had a hankering for some strange from a young age -- see the romps with one Koo Stark, sometime star of the blue screen.

I syand by mu assumption that Epstein was a service provider to the powerful, while he selectively blackmailed some and wielded leverage on others; he had friends too whom he wouldn't rat out. Andrew and Bill were such friends. Some people you know you cannot blackmail. Some you should not.

Supreme Court Guts the 2A
This decision furthers the gun grabbers' plans; rather than trying to confiscate guns, the grabbers plan to make them unavailable by suing makers out of business.
[Breitbart] The Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) cleared the way Tuesday for Sandy Hook families’ lawsuit against gun maker Remington to proceed.

SCOTUS did this by refusing to hear Remington’s appeal of a March Connecticut Supreme Ruling that allowed the lawsuit to stand.

The Stamford Advocate reports 10 Sandy Hook families filed the suit despite the existence of the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act; “a federal law that shields the industry from most liability when its firearms are criminally misused.”

On November 14, 2017, Breitbart News reported the AR-15 used in the Sandy Hook attack was stolen, as was the handgun the attacker used to take his own life when police reached the scene.

#8  I heard this during the Obamacare debate, and it really hit home for me. The Supreme Court can do a lot. It can hold back the tide of the worst people/decisions in our society. But it can never hold back everything, or even the majority of awful things in our country. We will, one way or another, end up with the laws and society that we deserve (if not the ones that we want). Liberals deserve an awful society, and they are multiplying thanks to their control of so many facets of society. Thus, more and more areas of our society become awful, from certain portions of the economy to entire regions like the West Coast. Our country is sick, but the Supreme Court isn't a doctor. Just the immune system.

He didn't, the SC declined to hear the case.

Take away from: How does the SCOTUS decide what cases to hear?

"Just four of nine justices have to vote 'Yes' to take a case and Hasday says most votes are likely quick because of the sheer math involved. Each year, there are roughly 7,000 cases that petition the court trying to be heard. They only take between 100 and 150."

#11  Regarding deciding which cases to hear, it's mostly the SC clerks that does the reading and if a "petition for certiorari" meet specific criteria, then it's passed on to the SC judges for final decision as to whether or not the SC will hear the case.

Pizza Hut Employee Kills Armed Robber
[BearingArms] The parents of a dead armed robber are very angry over his death, and are demanding to know why his innocent victim was allowed to be armed.
MY son should be allowed to rob anyone at gunpoint without fear of being eliminated!
It’s been a difficult week for parents Temia Hairston and Michael Grace Sr. Their son, Michael Grace Jr., was shot and killed during an attempted robbery early Sunday morning.
He was a good boy. He just got in with the wrong crowd.
Police said Grace Jr. and two other people tried to rob a Pizza Hut in the 3200 block of Freedom Drive. During the incident, an employee fired his own handgun and killed Grace Jr.

3 soldiers martyred in IED blast in North Waziristan
[DAWN] Three soldiers of the Pakistain Army were martyred in an improvised bomb (IED) blast in North Wazoo tribal district, the military's media wing said on Tuesday evening.

The martyred soldiers were a part of the army's patrolling team. One other soldier was also injured when the IED went off, the ISPR statement said

The site where the blast took place was cordoned off and a search operation was started in the area.

The martyred soldiers were identified by the ISPR as Sepoy Sajid, Sepoy Riyasat and Sepoy Babar.

Pak forces have also conducted a series of operations against bully boy groups in the tribal districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa over the years. While officials say the area has largely been pacified, small attacks continue to take place.

Cyber
Facebook looks at you with i-phone camera when you scroll.
[TNW] iPhone owners, beware. It appears Facebook might be actively using your camera without your knowledge while you’re scrolling your feed.

The issue has come to light after a user going by the name Joshua Maddux took to Twitter to report the unusual behavior, which occurs in the Facebook app for iOS. In footage he shared, you can see his camera actively working in the background as he scrolls through his feed.

The problem becomes evident due to a bug that shows the camera feed in a tiny sliver on the left side of your screen, when you open a photo in the app and swipe down. TNW has since been able to independently reproduce the issue.

Here’s what this looks like:

Maddux adds he found the same issue on five iPhone devices running iOS 13.2.2, but was unable to reproduce it on iOS 12. “I will note that iPhones running iOS 12 don’t show the camera (not to say that it’s not being used),” he said.

The findings are consistent with our own attempts. While iPhones running iOS 13.2.2 indeed show the camera actively working in the background, the issue doesn’t appear to affect iOS 13.1.3. We further noticed the issue only occurs if you have given the Facebook app access to your camera. If not, it appears the Facebook app tries to access it, but iOS blocks the attempt.

It remains unclear if this is expected behavior or simply a bug in the software for iOS (we all know what Facebook will say; spoiler: “Muh, duh, guh, it’s a bug. We sorry.”). For what it’s worth, we’ve been unable to reproduce the issue on Android (version 10, used on Google Pixel 4).

Whatever the reason for it, though, this behavior is particularly concerning — especially considering Facebook‘s atrocious track record when it comes to user privacy (remember Cambrdige Analytica?).

By now, everyone should be well aware that any iOS app that has been granted access to your camera can secretly record you. Back in 2017, researcher Felix Krause spoke to TNW about the same issue.

At the time, the researcher noted one way to deal with this privacy concern is to revoke camera access (though that arguably doesn’t make for a smooth software experience). Another thing he suggested is covering up your camera — like former FBI director James Comey and Facebook‘s own emperor Mark Zuckerberg do. Learn from the pros I guess.

#2  Since the camera is facing away from the user I don't really see what value any company would get out of this so I'm guessing bug.

Now if it logged your location without your permission, that's something I can see a number of companies paying for to increase add revenue and such.

10 reasons why this impeachment ‘inquiry' is really a coup
VDH, as usual cuts through the bullshit
[NY Post] There are at least 10 reasons why the Dem impeachment "inquiry" is really a coup.

1) Impeachment 24/7. The "inquiry," supposedly prompted by President Trump's Ukrainian call, is only the most recent coup seeking to overturn the 2016 election.

#4  This impeachment show trial is bad for the country. Stalin would be proud. If allowed to continue, the presidency will be weakened for every president hereafter, both Dem and Pub. Future POTUS' will be knee-capped and unable to conduct any foreign or domestic policies. There will be no balance of power between the branches of government.

The outcome of any future elections dissatisfy someone; that is the nature of elections. The impeachment will begin after the election and swing into full effect during the transition period.

I hope wiser heads prevail in the House other than Pelosi, Schiff and Nadler and some of the other Dems who hate Trump. Why do they hate Trump? Because he outsmarted them and upset their plans.
They hate him because he tends to be successful in managing the Executive branch of the government. They hate him because he has gone about breaking up a criminal cabal in government. They hate him because he, an elected President, has the audacity to challenge the authority of an unelected part of the government. I hope he crushes this bunch of criminals.

Catalan parliament defies Spanish court with motion on self-determination
[DAWN] Catalonia's regional parliament approved on Tuesday a non-binding motion expressing the will to exercise self-determination, defying a warning from Spain's Constitutional Court.

The motion calls for political action but has no legal effect, a parliament spokesperson told Rooters. Catalan pro-independence parties hold a majority in the chamber.

The Spanish court has warned that Catalan politicians would face legal consequences if they pushed forward with the motion, which said the parliament expressed the "will to exercise in a concrete way the right of self-determination and to respect the will of the Catalan people."

Fracking Causing Earthquakes - New Study
[Dallas News] By 2023, oil production from West Texas’s Permian Basin is expected to double, surpassing the production of every OPEC nation except Saudi Arabia, according to at least one estimate. Since Texas earthquake rates first picked up in 2008, academic scientists, regulators and oil and gas companies have publicly agreed on one thing: fracking was not to blame. Instead, studies tied the quakes to the disposal of wastewater from oil and gas production.
However -
Now, a new study suggests for the first time that some Texas earthquakes ‐ specifically, those in West Texas ‐ may indeed be connected to hydraulic fracturing. "However, it’s not the only cause," said a research scientist at the University of Texas at Austin’s Bureau of Economic Geology.
UT-Austin, in the heart of the blue island in central Texas.
Earthquake rates near Pecos, a city of 10,000, soared from about two per year in 2008 to more than 1,400 in 2017, according to another new study led by researchers at the University of Texas Institute for Geophysics. The vast majority have been too small to feel, and several residents reached by phone in the Pecos area said they had never felt one.

While the earthquakes in West Texas have been small ‐ the largest near Pecos registered 3.7-magnitude, just intense enough to feel, but not strong enough to cause damage ‐ they could grow larger as production accelerates, researchers said. To reduce the risk of larger earthquakes, operators should "be mindful of their rates of injection," said a seismologist at Ohio’s Miami University who studies human-induced quakes.
All things in moderation, as they say.
To help reduce the risk of earthquake damage, some companies have deployed their own seismic stations and implemented monitoring systems that quickly alert operators when small quakes take place.
Top Men In Their Field
Scientists say they believe that fracking poses less of an earthquake hazard than wastewater injection. The largest earthquake tied to fracking in the United States has been in the 3-to-4 magnitude range, said Brudzinski, while the largest earthquake tied to wastewater disposal was a 5.8-magnitude quake that struck Pawnee, Okla., in 2016, causing significant damage to buildings.

Residents in the Pecos area reached by phone and Twitter on Thursday said they were not troubled by the quakes. A former middle school teacher from Pecos said he was initially concerned by the quakes but felt better once scientists came and set up monitoring stations. "Most people felt at ease after the researchers came in," he wrote in a Twitter direct message. "Over time, economic development continued and the town is getting so much better that it's not that big of a concern."
Except to Progressives.

#2  If it is, all it's doing is relieving stress at faults. Which is a good thing. Lots of little earthquakes better than one giant one that destroys half of the stuff in the area.

#3  Question? Aren't the plates that are involved in earthquakes much much deeper than fracking activities?
Posted by: warthogswife || 11/13/2019 11:48 Comments || Top||

#4  We're not talking about plate tectonics here, just faults. Faults lie at every level of the crust, resulting from the movement of rocks from earthquakes, subsidence and a variety of other events. The New Madrid fault zone is a good example of interplate earthquakes. If fracking could keep the New Madrid from going off again, I'd say drill baby drill.

A similar airstrike in Ahmad Khel district of Paktiya killed two more snuffies of the group, the officials said, adding that another airstrike in Pul-e Alam district of Pashtun-infested Logar killed 7 Talibs.

The Taliban group has not commented regarding the airstrikes so far.

Both Paktiya and Pashtun-infested Logar are among the relatively volatile provinces in central and south-eastern parts of the country.

Talibs are active in some remote and restive areas of the two provinces and often conduct terrorist related activities.

Meanwhile,

Mark Sanford Ends Long Shot Campaign for President
[BREITBART] Mark Sanford (SC-Applachian Trail) is ending his long-shot bid for president.

"I am suspending my race for the Presidency because impeachment has made my goal of making the debt, deficit and spending issue a part of this presidential debate impossible right now," Sanford announced his of his intention to exit the race after a brief presser in New Hampshire, an early primary state.

"From day one, I was fully aware of how hard it would be to elevate these issues with a sitting president of my own party ignoring them," he added. "Impeachment noise has moved what was hard to herculean as nearly everything in Republican party politics is currently viewed through the prism of impeachment."

Sanford entered the race in September, claiming that the GOP had "lost" its compass under President Trump and pledging to make national deficit solutions his primary campaign focus.

His departure still leaves former Illinois Rep. Joe Walsh and former Massachusetts Gov. Bill Weld as Republican primary candidates.

New kidnapping case reported as female activists targeted in Iraq
[THEBAGHDADPOST] Iraqi activist Mary Mohammad, one of the participants in the protests and famous for helping protesters demanding the ousting of the regime has disappeared, according to reports that are circulating on social media.

Iraqi activists who condemned the kidnapping tweeted that Mary Mohammad disappeared four days ago with no trace of her whereabouts.

Some of the protesters accused pro-Iranian militias of carrying out operations targeting activists and bloggers taking part in the protests in the provinces of central and southern Iraq.

Mohammad is the second female activist who has disappeared since the eruption of protests in early October.

On November 2, Iraqi activist and physician Siba al-Mahdawi was kidnapped in Baghdad by an unknown group at night when she was returning from Tahrir Square.

The Iraqi High Commission for Human Rights (IHCHR) called on the government and security forces to investigate the case.
Al-Mahdawi’s mother said she had been kidnapped by "armed, masked men on pick-up trucks."

Last Friday, Amnesia Amnesty International called on the Iraqi authorities to reveal the fate of al-Mahdawi, saying that her abduction was part of a campaign to silence freedom of expression in Iraq.

The fate of the 26 Iraqis who remain kidnapped since the protests began is uncertain. Three activists were killed in Basra and Baghdad, and about 400 activists, protesters, and bloggers are in detention in the south and center of the country, according to Iraqi security sources.

The protesters initially demanded better public services, job creation and anti-corruption before they raised their demands to topple the government after the army and security forces used excessive violence against them. The government has acknowledged this and promised to hold those responsible to account.

Wakil was brought in a critical condition to the hospital a day earlier with high-grade fever and profuse bleeding. He was tested positive for the deadly infection caused by a germ that enters the human body through the nasal cavity and attacks its victim’s brain.

Officials in the Sindh health ministry said it was the 16th such death caused by Naegleria in the province this year.

Politico:Secret Senate Ballot Could Lead To Trump's Removal
NeverTrumper adviser to Prez campaigns of McStain and Yeb! JULEANNA GLOVER sez:
A secret impeachment ballot might sound crazy, but it’s actually quite possible. In fact, it would take only three senators to allow for that possibility.
And:
...according to current Senate procedure, McConnell will still need a simple majority‐51 of the 53 Senate Republicans‐to support any resolution outlining rules governing the trial. That means that if only three Republican senators were to break from the caucus, they could block any rule they didn’t like. (Vice President Mike Pence can’t break ties in impeachment matters.) Those three senators, in turn, could demand a secret ballot and condition their approval of the rest of the rules on getting one
After some more blather she closes her first draft with:
And if Trump were to leave office before the end of the year, there might even be enough time for Republicans to have a vibrant primary fight, resulting in a principled Republican as the nominee.
That's adorable. She thinks there will still be a viable GOP if they go along with this. And that the Dems won't demand more blood for Baal.

Police: Four ANA ‘Mistakenly Killed in Airstrike’ in Logar
[ToloNews] At least four Afghan National Army personnel were killed by "friendly fire" in the eastern province of Pashtun-infested Logar on Monday night, provincial police claim.

According to Pashtun-infested Logar police front man Shahpoor Ahmadzai, a US Arclight airstrike

attack and Afghan forces called for air support.

The outpost is located in the Bazar-e-Zekher area on the outskirts of Pul-e-Alam city, the center of Pashtun-infested Logar, Ahmadzai said.

Six other ANA soldiers were maimed in the airstrike, police said.

A front man for US Forces in Afghanistan responded: "We are aware of reports a US airstrike conducted last night in support of Afghan forces may have resulted in Afghan National Army casualties. US and Afghan forces are working closely together to develop a shared understanding of this event. A joint investigation is ongoing."

Also in Pashtun-infested Logar, provincial police said that a convoy of foreign forces was targeted by a boom-mobile explosion near a military camp Tuesday morning.

A US Forces spokesperson said: "A vehicle-borne IED targeted a U.S. convoy this morning in Pashtun-infested Logar province. Only the VBIED driver was killed. No U.S. or Coalition service members were maimed or killed in the attack. We are investigating the incident."

Trump-Ukraine whistleblower may be soliciting illicit donations
[FOXNEWS] A newly filed complaint to the Intelligence Community Inspector General (ICIG) alleges that the whistleblower whose allegations touched off House Democrats' impeachment inquiry may have violated federal law by indirectly soliciting more than a quarter-million dollars from mostly anonymous sources via a GoFundMe page.

The complaint, which was filed last week and obtained by Fox News, alleged the donations from roughly 6,000 individuals "clearly constitute" gifts to a current intelligence official that may be restricted because of the employee's official position pursuant to 5 CFR 2635.203 and other statutes. To date, the GoFundMe has raised over $227,000.

The complaint also raised the possibility that some of the donations may have come from prohibited sources, and asked the ICIG to look into whether any "foreign citizen or agent of a foreign government" contributed.

Tully Rinckey PLLC, the law firm representing the individual reporting the allegations, is closely guarding the identity of their client, though Fox News is told the individual is the holder of a top-secret SCI security clearance and has served in government.

"I have not seen anything on this scale," Anthony Gallo, the managing partner of Tully Rinckey PLLC, told Fox News, referring to the fundraising. "It's not about politics for my client -- it's whistleblower-on-whistleblower, and [my client's] only interest is to see the government ethics rules are being complied with government-wide."

Fox News reported in September that the nonprofit Whistleblower Aid worked with the whistleblower's attorneys at the Compass Rose Legal Group to start the GoFundMe.

The whistleblower's attorneys have called the GoFundMe a way to "help support the Intelligence Community Whistleblower [to] raise funds," and the GoFundMe page itself states that "A U.S. intelligence officer... needs your help" in the form of a "crowdfunding effort to support the whistleblower’s lawyers."

The fundraising page claims that "donations will only be accepted from U.S. citizens." But, the majority of the GoFundMe donors to the whistleblower's campaign were not named, and legal experts have told Fox News that the ICIG likely would need to subpoena the website to obtain more information on their origins.

#1  Will there be a whistle blown on the whistleblower's whistleblower?
Definitely not progress; more like infinite regress..
