India-Pakistan
CBI Raid Amnesty International Offices in India, Freeze Assets
MUMBAI (Reuters) - India's central investigating agency raided the local offices of human rights group Amnesty International on Friday, the Central Bureau of Investigation said, in a probe into alleged violations of foreign funding rules.

"It was alleged that the provision of the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act 2010 and Indian Penal Code were contravened," the federal agency, known as the CBI, said in a statement, adding that the Indian arm received contributions from Amnesty International UK despite government restrictions.

The raids were conducted at Amnesty International's offices in Bengaluru and New Delhi after the CBI registered a case against the group based on a complaint from India's Home Ministry, the statement added.
It has mostly to do with certain islamophile stooges egging on Kashmiri dissent within and without, this latest. But Amnesty is a general nuisance everywhere. A domestic intelligence study revealed in March this year, that as the funds to these 'humanitarian' groups became scarce, the lawfare branches of most terrorist groups, their lawyers, their facilitators began to solicit funds desperately. As if a major vein had been blocked. The home agencies submitted a most interesting 572 page report, detailing the networks of payment, shell companies, fronts and payments to local journalists, activists, politicians etc. Although we urged them to keep out the names and accounts of Soros affiliated nuthouses and individuals, the Hand of Soros did show up repeatedly.
Amnesty, which has criticised some actions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Hindu nationalist government in the past, was also accused of violations of foreign funding rules last year.

"Over the past year, a pattern of harassment has emerged every time Amnesty International India stands up and speaks out against human rights violations in India," the group said in a statement.
Yup, whack-a-mole it's called.
Amnesty accused Modi's government of violations of human rights in Kashmir after it revoked the constitutional autonomy of the disputed state in August and came down heavily on protesters in the aftermath.

The rights group also criticised the government's recent move to revoke the overseas Indian citizenship of British writer Aatish Taseer, calling it "discrimination based on gender and ethnic or national origin".

India has tightened surveillance of non-profit organisations in the country since Modi took power in 2014, with thousands of civil society groups having their licences to receive foreign donations cancelled or suspended.
Once you have resolve and make no pretense about it, creative officials do the rest really.
India's financial crime investigating agency, the Enforcement Directorate (ED), froze bank accounts of environmental watchdog Greenpeace India last year, forcing the organisation to cut its staff to a bare minimum.

Amnesty International's bank accounts were also frozen by the ED last year.
PS: I think you should seriously consider a 'Hand of Soros' option in the Organization dropdown. These fuckers are showing up in everything.

White House unveils rules requiring online disclosure of hospital prices
h/t Instapundit
[TheHill] The Trump administration on Friday unveiled new rules to require increased disclosure of health care prices, in a move officials said would drive down costs by increasing competition.

One regulation would require hospitals to provide a consumer-friendly online page where prices are listed for 300 common procedures like X-rays and lab tests. A second regulation would require insurers to provide an online tool where people could compare their out-of-pocket costs at different medical providers before receiving treatment.

Officials billed the announcement as a major step in President Trump’s health care agenda. The move is controversial with the health care industry, as both hospitals and insurers have objected to having to disclose the information.

The Trump administration is seeking to make a range of health care announcements, mainly outside the scope of the Affordable Care Act, to show progress on an issue that Democrats used to great effect to help win back control of the House last year.
I guess the next Schiff's witness will be a hospital administrator.

#3  Most patients have either Insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid and price isn't much of an issue. Insurance companies usally have steep discounts (example: 30K Facilities bull discounted down to 7K). You have to wonder if the Hospital is jacking up their prices or the Insurance is really good at negociation.

Airport Revenues Soar After Allowing Travelers To Pay To Turn Off CNN
[Babylon Bee] WORLD‐Airports around the world are reporting record revenues after introducing a long-awaited feature: the ability to turn off CNN on television sets in their terminals.

For just one quarter, you can turn off CNN for a full fifteen minutes while you're waiting for your flight, leaving you with the "far superior" experience of just staring at a blank screen.

"At long last," said one man waiting for his flight at LaGuardia as he dropped a few dollars' worth of quarters into the "Turn CNN Off" slot. "Honestly, I might fly more now." He's not alone: airports expect a 426% uptick in traveling over the holidays as flyers no longer have to worry about having the droning words of CNN hosts pounded into their heads for hours on a layover.

The feature has been one of the most-requested by travelers along with the dismantling of the TSA and pretzel bags with more than 3 pretzels in them.

The money-making move has inspired moments of human compassion and unity as travelers lend each other money or leave quarters behind atop the television sets for future travelers to turn off CNN. One anonymous philanthropist at DFW prepaid for over a year of CNN-less travel throughout the terminal.

"It's great to see what humanity can accomplish when we unite," said one man at LAX as he rummaged through his pockets to lend a quarter to a woman who wanted to turn off the CNN screen near her. "Here you go, miss. Enjoy your flight!"

The Brennan Dossier: All About a Prime Mover of Russiagate
"Schumer warned Trump: "Intel officials 'have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you" Schumer seems to be correct in his assessment according to this article.

The article begins to get at the nexus of the conspiracy to take down duly-elected POTUS Trump. However, there seems to be more to it than just the intelligence community. The more is: 1. foreign players involved, 2. the main-stream media aiding and abetting the conspiracy, 3. Dems and DNC, 4. Department of State, 5. Justice Department and FBI, Intelligence community. The swamp is large.

[RealClearInvestigations] In the waning days of the Obama administration, the U.S. intelligence community produced a report saying Russian President Vladimir Putin had tried to swing the 2016 election to Donald Trump.

Federal Appeals Court Rules Ban on Pre-Game Prayer Violates Free Speech
[Breitbart] A federal court has partially reversed a lower court's decision to prohibit prayers being broadcast on loudspeakers ahead of Christian schools'; sporting events, ruling that the ban violated free speech and free exercise rights.

The Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) rule prohibited prayer at the Citrus Bowl prior to a state championship game between two Christian schools.

In Wednesday's decision, the U.S. Court of Appeals Eleventh Circuit ruled that Cambridge Christian School’s argument has merit and litigation could continue, a press release from the First Liberty Institute, which is representing the school, said.

"No one should be shocked that two Christian schools would want to start their game with a prayer over the loudspeaker before kickoff, Jeremy Dys, special counsel for litigation and communication for First Liberty told Breitbart News. "The FHSAA's categorical ban on prayer is the type of hostility toward religion the First Amendment forbids."

Breitbart News asked Dys why prayer is considered a special category of speech not protected by the First Amendment?

"It is not," Dys said. "The only difference here is that the FHSAA preferred secular speech over religious speech."

"That, the court determined, may violate the Constitution," Dys said

Israeli airstrikes flatten Gaza terrorist group's facilities after rocket fire
"Flatten". I like that. I hope they were occupied
[Fox News] Israel's military announced Friday that it had carried out a series of airstrikes on a terrorist group's facilities in Gaza hours after a barrage of rockets were fired into its territory.

The strikes in the early-morning hours hit a compound, rocket-manufacturing site and headquarters of the Islamic Jihad militant group in the town of Khan Younis, the Associated Press reported, citing a statement from Israel's army.

A separate Israeli airstrike carried out in Deir al-Balah is reported to have killed eight people, including two women and five children under the age of 13. That strike apparently targeted the home of an Islamic Jihad commander who was not there at the time, the AP says.

Israel's military said it struck "Islamic Jihad military infrastructure" there – but did not intend to harm civilians.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
National Felon League season off to good start
CLEVELAND (AP) ‐ The Browns were seconds away from a season-changing win when Myles Garrett lost his composure in a moment of rage rarely seen on an NFL field.
I'm sure our pink salmon Moderator was really proud...until this crap happened. Browns outplayed them
Garrett tore off Pittsburgh quarterback Mason Rudolph’s helmet, wildly swung it and hit the QB in the head, a shocking act that will likely result in a lengthy suspension for Cleveland’s star defensive end and perhaps cost the Browns any chance of making the playoffs.

Garrett’s outburst came with 8 seconds left in Cleveland’s 21-7 win over the rival Steelers on Thursday night, a game that will not be remembered for anything that happened in the first 59 minutes.

Garrett faces a stiff NFL suspension and Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey will likely be disciplined for kicking Garrett in the head.
One can be certain some gentlemanly on-field discussions proceeded this most unfortunate scuffle.
As is so often the case, we are not privy to the discourse.

Poor writing. The helmet was removed and swung with strong purpose.

will not be remembered for anything that happened in the first 59 minutes.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Terrorists Fire Hundreds Of Rockets Into Israel, But Majority of 2020 Democratic Contenders Are Silent
[The Federalist] Over the past three days, our closest ally in the Middle East has endured a barrage of rockets from its Islamic jihadist neighbors in Gaza, resulting in the closing of Tel Aviv schools for the first time since 1990. In the early hours of Tuesday morning in Shajaiyah in Gaza City, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) assassinated Baha Abu al-Ata, a top commander of the Gaza terror group Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), a strike which has resulted in violent retaliatory measures against Israel on the part of the PIJ.

Though Hamas is the terrorist organization currently exercising political control over Gaza, their absolute hold over the region has been more tenuous in recent years. And the Iran-backed PIJ has capitalized on this weakening of power, rising to fill the resulting power vacuum from Hamas’ decline.

Yet, despite the hundreds of rockets launched at civilian centers throughout the southern part of Israel, only four of the top 10 2020 Democratic contenders bothered to comment‐former Vice President Joe Biden, Sen. Kamala Harris (who commented only when approached), Mayor Pete Buttigieg, and Sen. Amy Klobuchar. Notably absent were frontrunners Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT).

The irony of this silence from top primary contenders such as Sen. Bernie Sanders, D-VT., and Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-MA., is that they have no problem rustling up commentary on Israel when it is to lecture Israel on its immigration policy or to challenge Israel’s understanding of its own territorial claims.

Indeed, many of the Democratic contenders expressed public anger at Israel’s denial of entry to Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-MI., and Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-MN., who were refused admittance under Israel’s Entry into Israel Law due to their BDS activities (which included the proposal of a pro-BDS bill in U.S. Congress). Though Israel’s decision was largely the result of adhering to laws already in place, public chastising on the part of the Left was swift and severe.

Democrats prefer to discuss Israel only when they can condemn Israel. When the matter involves terrorists threatening Israeli lives, these usually outspoken Democratic leaders are strangely mute. If they are so invested in Israel’s future, as they would like audiences to believe through their perpetual criticism of Israeli policy, why are they so stunningly silent now? Furthermore, isn’t it possible that the very policies they routinely criticize are the result of complex factors, like nearby terrorist factions launching hundreds of rockets, and that it would behoove them to acknowledge such attacks like the current one? Apparently, no.

In July, after Elizabeth Warren hired a pro-Hamas, anti-Israel aide named Max Berger and remained unabashedly mum about her decision, it became obvious that the far-Left’s hatred of Israel (and of really anything professing Enlightenment values) had begun to infect the upper echelons of the Democratic Party. The argument made at the time largely holds true in the current moment, as well.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Deval Patrick Fired State Officials To Protect Rapist Ex-Brother-In-Law From Registering As Sex Offender
[The Federalist] The Democratic presidential primary’s freshest face, former Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick fired leaders of the Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry in 2014 for trying to register Patrick’s brother in-law for a 1993 California rape conviction.

Earlier this year, Bernard Sigh, Patrick’s ex-brother in-law was sentenced to eight years in prison for raping his ex-wife in a 2017 attack, three years after the head of the Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry Board rose the issue of registering Sigh as a sex offender to Patrick for a prior spousal rape conviction in California. In response, Patrick sacked the official in an effort to avoid having a family member register as a sex offender, calling it a "family matter," and therefore "marital" rape, according to Stanford Professor Michele Dauber.

Patrick became the latest candidate to officially enter the 2020 Democratic presidential contest this week with less than three months away from the first-in-the-nation Iowa caucuses after nine major candidates have already dropped out.

The former Massachusetts governor has less than one month to meet the Democratic National Committee’s qualifying thresholds to earn a spot on the December debate stage, where only six of the field’s 19 candidates including former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg have qualified so far.

Patrick’s late entrance in the race showcases Democrats’ concerns that no candidates currently in the race can pick up the necessary momentum needed to oust President Donald Trump next fall. The field’s frontrunner and former Vice President Joe Biden is plagued by scandals involving the Biden family’s shady dealings with Ukraine being brought to light by the Democrats’ partisan impeachment inquiry, while Senators Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Bernie Sanders of Vermont are running on far-left platforms proving difficult to sell to American voters.

Patrick, 63, served as governor of Massachusetts from 2007 to 2013 and has since worked in the private sector at Bain Capital and in media as a CBS contributor.

#4  Intriguing:

With the break-up of the USSR and the collapse of international Communism, the principal strategic danger, which President Trump intuitively perceives but his opponents are too obtuse or malicious to grasp (and so they have muddied the domestic political waters), is that Russia, if faced down into the arms of China, could agree to rent a chunk of Siberia on a royalty arrangement to China to be exploited by surplus Chinese manpower.

The fusion of resource-rich Siberia with Chinese manpower and exploitive skills would make poor and overpopulated China a full-scale rival to the United States.

NATO (i.e. the U.S.) should negotiate a non-aggression and partial-cooperation agreement with Russia to keep it out of the embrace of China.

The West can certainly be a more attractive dancing partner for Russia than China, and it should reinforce relations with India and subtly encourage the commercial and strategic independence of the Far Eastern, South Asian, and Australasian neighbors of China, all while managing Sino-American relations carefully.

The Seven Deadly Sins of California's Political Establishment
[AMGreatness] California’s politicians are hardly alone in their quest to destroy America’s rights, freedoms, prosperity, culture, traditions, and pride. They just happen to be more advanced in their quest. But since what happens in California often ends up happening later in the rest of the country, it’s vital to highlight just how bad it’s gotten in the Golden State.

Just as a theologian might argue there are more than seven deadly sins fatal to spiritual progress, there are more than seven policy areas where California’s political leadership has fatally undermined the aspirations of ordinary Californians. But in the interests of brevity and clarity, here are what might be the most damning seven deadly sins of California’s political establishment.

have injured 16 military personnel and one civilian.

Gov. Abdullah Erin of Sanliurfa province has told news hounds that the earth-shattering kabooms occurred late Wednesday at the command of a mechanized brigade in the province, which borders Syria.

He says the first explosion triggered the second. A fire that ensued was quickly brought under control.

The governor says a civilian who was on the balcony of his home near the site of the blast was among the injured. One of the injured military personnel was at death's door, he said.

Erin says the cause of the earth-shattering kabooms is under investigation, adding that authorities believe a "technical" fault may have triggered them.

Haqqani Prisoners Returned to Bagram Prison: Source
[ToloNews] Three days earlier, President Ghani announced that the three Haqqani Network members would be "conditionally" released.

A source said that the prisoner exchange of captured Haqqani Network members Anas Haqqani, Hafiz Rashid and Mali Khan for two kidnapped professors from the American University of Afghanistan, did not take place.

Three days earlier, President Ghani announced that the three Haqqani Network members would be "conditionally" released.

"So far, no exchange has taken place; there is a vacuum of confidence on both sides. An exchange may take place whenever both Taliban and Americans are assured," said Mawolana Jalaluddin Shinwari, a former official during the Taliban’s regime.

"The transfer of the professors to US authorities inside Afghanistan is time-consuming. Also, the issue of the earth-shattering kaboom yesterday in Kabul might be a reason for the delay, and also there is a lack of mutual understanding and confidence between the Americans and the Taliban as well," said Waheed Mozhdah, source close to the Taliban.

Badghis: District With Mined Roads Faces Food Shortage Crisis
[ToloNews] It has been nearly a year and a half since the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
mined all roads and donor agencies cannot distribute aid to the district.

Residents of Jawand district in Badghis province say they face a severe shortage of food and supplies because all roads out the district have been mined by the Taliban, and the district is isolated within a Taliban-controlled area.

Footage received by TOLOnews show that most of the shops in the market are empty and closed.

The residents say they do not even have bread to eat and cannot transport their patients to health centers.

"The roads in our district are mined and closed. We have no materials for fuel, no gas, no flour. The Taliban have blocked all roads in our district," said Allahdad, a resident.

"We have ill people, but we cannot take them to health centers because of the blocked roads," said Jalaluddin, another resident.

"It has been a year and a half since the road was blocked. There are families in the district that do not have five kilograms of flour. There is nothing to eat here," said Ramazan, another resident.

MPs from Badghis in the House of Representatives say residents in the district are struggling with hunger.

According to the MPs, the children are most affected by the siege--with not only hunger, but a lack clothes and shoes as well.

"As can be seen, the situation in the district is terrible and unfortunate. If we do not give some attention to the problem--and if food is not delivered within a week or ten days--we will witness a humanitarian tragedy in this district," said Abdul Basir Osmani, parliament member.

"We have communicated with local authorities, central authorities, and also UN and international partners, but no action has been taken so far," said Abdullah Afzali, the provincial council deputy.

But Badghis authorities and security officials have traveled to Jawand district by helicopter to help the residents of this mountainous district.

"The aid process is time-consuming, but the aid reaches the residents. The Directorate for Emergency Response and Disaster Assistance plans to distribute aid to the residents," said Badghis governor Abdul Ghafoor Malikzai.

"The residents of Jawand district stand against the turbans, so the government will solve the residents’ problems," said Hasibullah Akhundzada, commander of the 3rd Brigade of the Afghan National Army in Badghis Province.

Afghan Capital’s Air Pollution May Be Even Deadlier Than War
A reminder why we mustn’t let California, et al take control of America.
[ToloNews] Afghanistan’s pollution may be even deadlier than its war, now 18 years long.

Yousuf fled with his family from his home in eastern Afghanistan eight years ago to escape the war, but he couldn’t escape tragedy. In the capital, Kabul, five of his children died, not from violence or bombings, but from air pollution, worsened by bitter cold and poverty.

At the camp for displaced people they live in, they and other families keep warm and cook by burning the garbage that surrounds them. One by one over the years, each of the children got chest infections and other maladies from the pollution and never made it to age seven, he told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named. The 60-year-old has nine surviving children.

According to a statement released by the provincial government, a group of 4 ISIS snuffies handed over themselves to the Afghan forces in Achin district.

The statement further added that the ISIS snuffies also handed over the family members of themselves and their comrades to the Afghan forces, including 13 women and 22 children.

Citing the 201st Silab Corps authorities in the East, the provincial government said the Afghan forces have significantly suppressed the terror group in Nangarhar, forcing the snuffies of the terror group to surrender.

The Afghan army authorities have said the Afghan forces would continue their operations until they fully clear Nangarhar of ISSI murderous Moslems.

This comes as the Ministry of Defense on Wednesday announced that more than 120 ISIS snuffies and their family members surrendered to the Afghan forces in Nangarhar, days after dozens of snuffies of the terror group surrendered in this province.

Democracy in Afghanistan: Why the 2019 presidential election turnout was low
[KhaamaPress] Following the ouster of the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
regime in late 2001, Afghanistan has seen gradually declining turnout since the country first held national elections in 2004. In the first election after the overthrow of the Taliban from power, turnout was about 70 percent.

The fourth-ever presidential elections in Afghanistan’s history were held on 28 September 2019. Afghanistan’s election commission has announced that about 1.7 million Afghans cast their ballots at 85% of polling stations across the country, and it is estimated that ballots from the remaining 3,900 stations will increase the turnout to 1.9 million. Those numbers may decrease as the vetting process gets underway to discard fraudulent ballots and duplicate voter biometric data. The low turnout was confirmed by election observers and most other sources reporting from around the country.

Taliban kills two MOI officials in Jurm district of Badakhshan
[KhaamaPress] Two MOI officials were killed by Taliban

in Jurm district of Badakhshan province on Tuesday, officials confirmed.

Sanaullah Rohani, spokesperson for Badakhshan police department told Khaama Press that a group of 8 MOI personnel were on annual holiday to visit their families in Iskan village of Jurm district last week, after which Taliban ambushed the village on Tuesday.

Armed Talibs caught 27 years old Sebghatullah Samim and 28 years old Waisullah Hamidi from their homes at 20:00hrs on the evening of November 12th and shot them to dead in front of the eyes of villagers, Rohani said.

The other six security officials have successfully flew from the village, Rohani added.

An eye witness who did not want to be named in this report told Khaama Press that a group of Talibs attached the village on Tuesday evening and entered the premises of Sebghatullah and Waisullah from to roof entrances and took both out of their homes.

The families of victims and villagers swore the gunnies to Koran and tried to convince them to release the young men, but the gunnies did not care and shot them to dead, eye witness said.

Another villager speaking at anonymity said that the armed gunnies belonged to Qari Shamsullah, one of the commanders of Taliban.

Qari Shamsullah was injured in a battle with the Afghan cops few years back and he was taken to a military hospital for treatment by an MP and some members of the provincial council of Badakshan, the villager claimed.

This comes as Taliban conquered Iskan village in Jurm district of Badakhshan province in late 2013 and they were recently defeated back from this village.

Abduramil and Abduracman, together with another unidentified suspect, were killed in a shootout earlier this month after the military received reports that they had planned to attack Jolo. Their nationalities were not revealed.

Impeachment Backfire -- Trump’s Numbers Rise as Biden’s Crater
[BREITBART] An objective look at the latest polling proves the Impeachment Hoax is backfiring against Quid Pro Joe Biden.

Obviously, it was not supposed to be this way. Democrats and their establishment media allies were certain they had crafted a silver bullet that would accomplish two things at once: 1) doom President Trump’s re-election chances, and 2) shield Old Joe from the fact he and his son are guilty of looting China and Ukraine.

What a fail.

As of this writing, Trump sits at a relatively healthy job approval rating of 44.1 percent per the RealClearPolitics poll of polls. That’s only a single point lower than when the media and Democrats launched their Impeachment Hoax.

What’s more, in less than three weeks, Trump’s job approval has climbed almost four points.

Oh, and Slow Joe…?

The Impeachment Hoax has backfired spectacularly on Slow Joe.

As the media and Democrats attempt to find an impeachable offense, as they hold secret hearings, as they move the goalposts from a quid pro quo that can’t be proved (and would not be impeachable if it were) to the crime of — LOL — bribery, as Democrats and the media founder around stepping on rakes, the Impeachment Hoax Spotlight is instead exposing the Biden Family Crime Syndicate.

Ukraine Foreign Minister: U.S. Aid, Investigations Were ‘Never’ Linked
[BREITBART] Ukrainian foreign minister Vadym Prystaiko said Thursday that U.S. Ambassador to the E.U. Gordon Sondland had "never" linked U.S. aid to Ukrainian investigations of the 2016 elections or the Biden’s role in stopping a probe of Burisma.
But what does he know?
Prystaiko spoke the day after the first public hearings in the House Intelligence Committee as part of the "impeachment inquiry," where two witnesses said they came to believe there had been such a link ‐ though only some time after Politico reported on August 28 that aid had been held up by the Trump administration.

One of the witnesses, Chargé d’affaires Bill Taylor, introduced new evidence that a staffer told him recently that he overheard Sondland speaking to President Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
the day after his July 25 phone call with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky, discussing "investigations." The staffer also told Taylor that Sondland said that Trump was more interested in investigations than anything else.

As Breitbart News’ Kristina Wong noted, that new evidence ‐ which is fourth-hand hearsay, plus opinion ‐ added little new information, but was cited by Democrats and journalists as evidence that aid might have been linked to investigations Trump had asked the new Ukrainian government to pursue.

On Thursday, Prystaiko said that there had been no link in discussions at the time with Sondland, as Rooters reported.

Santa Clarita school shooter was initially mistaken as a victim: cops
[NYPOST] The teen shooter who opened fire on his high school campus in Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, Thursday, wounding several and killing two, initially was mistaken as a victim by first responders after he was found with a gunshot wound to his head, police said.

First responders found the 16-year-old shooter along with five other shot students on the quad of Saugus High School in Santa Clarita around 7:40 a.m.

The students were hospitalized and Sherlocks later identified the shooter through firsthand witnesses, Los Angeles County officials said at a presser.

"The suspect was later identified as one of the victims found in the quad," Capt. Kent Wegener with the sheriff’s homicide division said during a midday presser.

Surveillance video from the school showed the shooter pull a .45-caliber semi-automatic pistol from his backpack and shoot five students before he shot himself in the head, Wegener said.

He is in "grave condition," which means he is critical and clinging to life, officials said.

#6  Another fine product of our wonderful public school system, where indoctrination is more important than education and job training is non-existent. Why make these kids sit in what resembles a prison more than anything until they are 17 or 18 years old when they still won't be qualified for any kind of job that some illegal alien hasn't already taken? No wonder they get pissed off and alienated.

Posted by: Lex || 11/15/2019 15:08 Comments || Top||

#10  In fairness, public schools have to take everybody while private and parochial or Christian schools can expel anyone who doesn't measure up to their standards. That's not really what I'm bitching about. My problem is that we keep kids down and treat them like children for far too long and when they finally get out of high school they haven't been prepared for the real world. The program should be a lot shorter but a lot more rigorous. Let the kids grow up instead of treating them like children. Face the fact that not all high school kids are going to college and teach them how to do other jobs. Either that or else subsidize them when they go to private vocational schools instead of keeping them in high school where they learn nothing that will ever be useful to them.

But in California, the biggest problem is the teachers' unions. They would very effectively resist any change that required their lazy, ignorant members to update the curriculum and make it relevant to reality.

And we need to face facts when a student can't hack it. Do not let them stay in that environment and become disruptive because it isn't fair to the others who are putting forth the effort. I don't know what you do with the dropouts but you can't keep trying to mainstream them when it's obviously not working.

Russian forces establish helicopter base in Qamishli following U.S. forces withdrawal
[NPASYRIA] North-Press reported, on Thursday morning, the entry of Russian forces to into "Sappat" military base, near the town of Serrin on M4, south of Kobani 35km, accompanied by Russian helicopters flights over the area, after the full withdrawal of the U.S. troops.

TASS Russian News Agency has quoted Russian Defense Ministry as saying that "Moscow had started to set up a helicopter base in the Syrian city of Qamishli," noting that "the Russian military base would be protected by surface-to-air missile systems," and that 3 helicopters had already been deployed there.

The Russian forces have been deployed heavily in northeastern Syria, in coordination with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), to fill the vacuum which was left by the U.S. troops withdrawal from the region.

Michael Avenatti Hit with Fresh Wire Fraud Charge in Nike Extortion Case
[BREITBART] An indictment charging Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, creepy porn lawyer Michael Avenatti with conspiring to extort Nike has been rewritten to drop two conspiracy counts.

Moreover, they said, the heavy casualties PIJ suffered during the two days of fighting ‐ which began after Tuesday’s liquidation of PIJ commander Bahaa Abu al-Ata ‐ contributed to that terror group’s decision to accept Egypt’s mediation efforts.

U.S. Mfg Group Hacked By China As Trade Talks Intensified
[Reuters] As trade talks between Washington and Beijing intensified earlier this year, suspected Chinese hackers broke into an industry group for U.S. manufacturers that has helped shape President Donald Trump’s trade policies, according to two people familiar with the matter.

The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) was hacked over the summer and hired a cybersecurity firm, which concluded the attack came from China, the two sources said.

The security firm, which the sources did not name, made the assessment based on the usage of tools and techniques previously associated with known Chinese hacking groups, they said.

The hack of an internal computer network at a powerful Washington industry group illustrates how China has tried to gain an advantage in the trade war between the world’s two biggest economies.

Rep. Dan Bishop Names Alleged Impeachment ‘Whistleblower’: ‘He’s Not Voldemort’
[BREITBART] Rep. Dan Bishop (R-NC) became the first member of Congress to publicly name the alleged "whistleblower," whose second-hand complaint sparked the Democrats’ impeachment inquiry, on Twitter Monday evening.

Bishop on Monday responded to a tweet from an individual who suggested that the GOP refrain from using the term "whistleblower," instead referring to him as "the leaker" or "the operative" or "the deep state spy in the White House."

The North Carolina congressman said he agreed "100%," noting that he refuses "to cower before the authoritarian intimidation campaign."

"He’s not Voldemort. And he’s not a bona fide whistleblower. Even if he were, he wouldn’t be entitled to secrecy. Eric Ciamarella is a deep state conspirator," Bishop wrote. "He needs to testify now"

Tree Lighting Removed From Annual Holiday Celebration In Durham, NH After Complaints
[BOSTON.CBSLOCAL] A Durham, New Hampshire celebration scheduled for the beginning of holidays is undergoing some changes this year in an effort to remove religious overtones.
It's Grinch rutting season already!
Formerly called the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony,
Because they fired up a tree every year...
the newly named Frost Fest
"Festivus for the Rest of Us"...
will include the absence of a formal tree lighting. Santa will be at the event but he will not arrive in a town firetruck as he has in the past.
He's coming by taxi.
The wreaths that traditionally adorned lamp posts on Main Street will also not be present this year.
Can they hang kale?
Town Councilor Sally Tobias says the changes came about after some controversy last holiday season. “There was another private citizen that came forward and said that he had always had a problem with the Christmas tree, as he called it,” Tobias said.
"I hate Christmas! Take it down! Take it all down! That pagan Germanic decorated tree, too!"
After holding a public meeting, the town formed a working committee and made changes to the event.
"Well? Do you have a spine, Bob?"
"No, Chet. I've always been an invertebrate."
"Me, too. How about you, Sylvia?"
"Nope. None."
"Then it's unanimous? All in favor say 'aye'!"
"Ummm... I'm not sure I'd go that far..."
"Let's form a committee, then."
"As long as I'm not on it!"
"Me, too!"

“There were a couple of people that did express some concerns about how they felt being included,” Tobias said.
Do tell?

Texas state Rep. Poncho Nevárez admits to dropping envelope of coke at airport
[NYPOST] A Texas state politician fessed up to dropping an envelope of cocaine at an Austin airport in an episode that authorities said was caught on camera.

"I do not have anyone to blame but myself," Democratic state Rep. Poncho Nevárez told the Texas Tribune on Thursday.

Nevárez, who announced last month he wouldn’t seek reelection, dropped an envelope with his official seal Sept. 6 at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport as he climbed into a vehicle, according to an affidavit filed by state police.

It was found by airport workers, who discovered it contained baggies of white powder determined to be cocaine, authorities said.

Security cameras captured the envelope fall from Nevárez’s person as he climbed into a vehicle, police said.

State authorities filed an affidavit Oct. 29 to obtain a DNA sample from Nevarez in attempt to match saliva found on the envelope.

Nevárez, who is from Eagle Pass, hasn’t been charged in the incident, but the affidavit notes that he’s suspected of felony drug possession.

The prominent state politician said "grief and addiction" were consuming him and he will seek drug treatment.

"I accept this because it is true and it will help me get better," Nevarez told the newspaper.

This side of the protest
[DAWN] THE past one month, actually the last three-week period beginning in late October, has had a transformative impact on some of the most prominent players in the country’s political arena. There have been events which have changed the complexion of the game, necessitating new strategy and fresh posturing. This could well mark the start of another phase in Pak politics.

On that side of his ’long march’ on Islamabad on Oct 27, Maulana Fazlur Rehman
...Deobandi holy man, known as Mullah Diesel during the war against the Soviets, his sympathies for the Taliban have never been tempered by honesty...
was a less angry man. He was basking in all the praise he was getting for his magical ability to stitch up average material into stuff better than just being presentable. He had allies, not fully committed ones, but who had promise and the potential to be useful to the JUI-F chief’s advantage. True to the old wise words, it was only the journey itself which revealed the real face and worth of these supposed fellow travellers.

Iraq
Two killed, 35 wounded in Baghdad protests: police, medics
[THEBAGHDADPOST] Security forces killed two protesters and wounded 35 others in Baghdad on Thursday, police and medical sources said, as thousands of Iraqis continued a wave of anti-government protests.

One protester died immediately after a tear gas canister hit his head and another died in hospital from wounds from a stun bomb fired by security forces, the sources said.

Security forces used live fire, rubber bullets and shot tear gas canisters in a bid to disperse hundreds of protesters gathered near Tahrir Square, a Reuters cameraman said.

Most of those hurt had choked on tear gas or had been hit by rubber bullets and were taken to hospital, medical sources said.

Protesters said the security forces had stepped up their firing of tear gas canisters and rubber bullets early on Thursday morning.

More than 300 people have been killed since Oct. 1, as security forces have fired tear gas canisters and rubber bullets at crowds of protesters.

Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi’s government has taken some measures to try to quell the unrest, including handouts to the poor and creating more job opportunities for college graduates.

But it has failed to keep up with the growing demands of demonstrators who are now calling for an overhaul of Iraq’s sectarian political system and the departure of its entire ruling elite.

Cyber
Power jacking cyber attack vector
[ZDnet] Travelers are advised to avoid using public USB power charging stations in airports, hotels, and other locations because they may contain dangerous malware, the Los Angeles District Attorney said in a security alert published last week.

USB connections were designed to work as both data and power transfer mediums, with no strict barrier between the two. As smartphones became more popular in the past decade, security researchers figured out they could abuse USB connections that a user might think was only transferring electrical power to hide and deliver secret data payloads.

This type of attack received its own name, as "juice jacking."

Ukraine and the fine hand of George Soros
By Thomas Lifson
[AmericanThinker] There was a missing person in yesterday's testimony in the "impeachment inquiry": George Soros. One person who noticed was Joe DiGenova, who brought up the involvement of the Hungarian-born billionaire yesterday on Lou Dobbs's Fox Business Network show, only to be attacked viciously for daring to mention Him Who Must Not Be Named, on Mediaite by Reed Richardson, who called it a "bonkers conspiracy."

The husband-and-wife Trump defense team of Joe diGenova and Victoria Toensing appeared on Fox Business' Lou Dobbs Tonight to push an outlandish conspiracy theory about Ukraine, baselessly alleging that left-wing billionaire George Soros "controls a large part of the foreign service part of the State Department and the activities of FBI agents overseas."

Transcript via Grabien:

RUSH TRANSCRIPT:
Lou: Let's go to Ukraine. Rudy Giuliani, I love the fact he's defending the president in an op-ed. All the work he has done. I hear all the testimony today at least from those who want to quiet him and quiet the president, and try to state that they think this is outrageous that people should have truth and justice in far away places like sue crane. Crane ‐ places like Ukraine. What do you think, Victoria?

That what Rudy Giuliani has been doing since he has begun representing the president. He called me earlier this year to tell me what he discovered about Ukraine. He was told that these people in Ukraine were working to frame the president. You. Our sweet Ambassador told everyone not to talk to us, and so did George kernt. Kernt ‐ George Kent. He flew into Kiev to do that.

Lou: As I watch and I'm thinking, I am going to give them credit for being well intentioned public servants. But for all the world it was because they weren't in the special super duper irregular chain and no one patted them on the back or had a sip of tea with them. That's what they seemed upset about. It was outrageous to me that they have this sort of petty reaction to not being in the regular chain as well as the irregular chain. And it didn't seem either were too disturbed by it. George Kent is a separate issue. His motives seem peculiar to me. John Solomon reported in March that George Kent pressured Ukrainian investigators to back off an investigation from the anti-corruption center that George Soros group sponsored. This is a complicated deal here. And it seems he wanted to keep an investigation of Ukrainian corruption with limits on it, even as he answered questions today.

There is no doubt that George Soros controls a large part of the foreign service part of the State Department and the activities of FBI agents overseas who work with ngos. That was very effort in Ukraine. Kent was part of that. He was a big protector of Soros. His testimony today shows his stern kind of discomfort with not being included in certain discussions. But George Soros had a daily opportunity to tell the State Department through Victoria Newland what to do in the Ukraine. Soros ran it. He corrupted FBI officials and foreign service officers. George Soros wants to run Ukraine and he's doing everything he can to use every lever of the United States government for business purposes.

His organization is anti-competitive. It goes after people who compete with George Soros in the name of anticorruption.

Lou: It was quite a moment in which he walked right up to the boundary but wouldn't say this should be a comprehensive investigation of these activities that of course is precisely what the president of the United States made clear to president zelensky that he wanted, bringing in the U.S. Justice Department to work with the Ukrainian authorities and government.
It seems we find George Soros involved in all manner of nefarious activities these days. Excuse while I go look under my bed.

But seriously, this is an interesting article and it has all kinds of links to all kinds of other interesting articles on the same subject. Most interesting is the following:

#1  Marie Yovanovitch just testified at the impeachment hearing that she did not give the top Ukrainian prosecutor a "do not prosecute list". However, at this link, there is a video in which the prosecutor says she did.

I dunno. Who is the most credible, a bitter former ambassador who is obviously out to get Trump or the Ukrainian prosecutor? But I know one thing; that video will never air on CBS.

Make Ukraine a neutral zone the way Finland and Austria were during the Cold War. Stop playing with fire and needlessly provoking the Russians in their backyard, which is the cradle of Russian Orthodix Christian civilization. Let them have Crimea, radi bogu.

Doesn't anyone in our foreign-policy elite know how to play this game?

Turkey deports American IS suspect stuck at Greek border
[IsraelTimes] Ankara says US agreed to take in alleged jihadist, give him travel documents; repatriation comes after Erdogan’s visit to the White House.

An American man suspected of being a member of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
bad boy group is being repatriated to the United States after spending three days in a no man’s land between The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
and Greece, Turkey’s Interior Ministry said Thursday.

The United States agreed to take him in and will provide him with travel documents, the ministry said, adding that the repatriation was underway.

The move comes a day after Ottoman Turkish President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really more important...
met with US President Donald Trump
...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party...
in Washington.

The man was stuck in the heavily militarized border zone after Turkey tried to expel him to Greece on Monday but Athens refused him entry. Ottoman Turkish media have identified him as 39-year-old Mohammad Darwis B. and said he was an American citizen of Jordanian background.

The ministry said Thursday the man had asked to be deported to a "third country" and chose Greece.

He had been spotted in the no man’s land for three straight days. Media reports said Ottoman Turkish authorities allowed him to spend the night in a vehicle, where he was fed.

Turkey has engaged in a new push to deport foreign IS members who are held in Ottoman Turkish prisons or in Syria, since it invaded parts of northeast Syria to drive away Syrian Kurdish fighters it considers to be Lions of Islam from a border area.

Turkey’s Interior Ministry on Thursday expelled seven German and one British IS suspects to Berlin and London. The state-run Anadolu Agency said two men, four women and an infant were transported onto the tarmac at Istanbul Airport in a vehicle belonging to Turkey’s migration agency and boarded a plane bound for Berlin.

There was no information on their identities.

Three foreign IS suspects ‐ from the United States, Denmark and Germany ‐ were deported on Monday.

Turkey also plans to soon deport other alleged IS members, including two Irish and 11 French citizens.

Meanwhile,
...back at the Council of Boskone, Helmuth had turned a paler shade of blue. Star-A-Star had struck again...
the Interior Ministry also said Thursday that a wanted IS suspect was detained by anti-terrorism police in a raid in Istanbul after he illegally crossed into Turkey from Syria. The ministry said the man, whom it identified as Mevlut Cuskun, was being questioned by police.
An Nahar adds:
Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said last week that Turkey had nearly 1,200 foreign members of IS in custody, and had captured 287 during the offensive in Syria.

The Hurriyet newspaper said Wednesday that 959 suspects were being prepared for deportation, with the largest numbers coming from Iraq, Syria and Russia.

The Turkish interior ministry earlier Thursday said seven Germans and one Briton would be deported to Berlin and London respectively.

The Metropolitan Police in London said later on Thursday a man was arrested on terrorism offences after arriving at Heathrow airport on an inbound flight to the UK from Turkey.

"He was arrested on suspicion of preparation of terrorist acts," the police said in a statement. "The arrest is Syria-related," it added.

Hamas announces: No Gaza border protests this Friday
[Jpost] Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", announced on Thursday that there will not be 'March of Return' this Friday, according to a Channel 13 report. This would be the first time that the protests are cancelled since March 2109, over half a year ago.

According to the report, the Hamas announcement came in an attempt to deescalate the situation following over 400 rockets that were launched at Israel by the Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
as a response to IDF operation 'Black Belt' that killed PIJ commander Bahaa Abu al-Ata.

The weekly protests along the Israel-Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
border began on March 30, 2018, they were planned to be a six-week campaign to demand that Israel allow Paleostinian refugees and their descendants to return to their former homes in Israel. That’s why the organizers, mostly social media activists, chose to call the protests the "Great March of Return."

Hamas’ failure to join the round of fighting between Israel and PIJ was one of the main reasons why PIJ agreed to the Egyptian-brokered ceasefire, Paleostinians said on Thursday.

Sources close to Hamas explained that the movement chose not to involve itself in the fighting out of fear of dragging the Gaza Strip into an all-out war with Israel.

"The residents of the Gaza Strip can’t afford another major war like the one that took place in 2014," the sources said, referring to the seven-week Operation Protective Edge military offensive after Hamas fired rockets into Israel.

According to the sources, Hamas did not believe that the liquidation of al-Ata was sufficient to spark another war with Israel. "As far as Hamas was concerned, this was an internal issue concerning Paleostinian Islamic Jihad," the sources explained. "While Hamas did not try to stop the group from avenging the death of its commander, it saw no reason why its men should join the rocket attacks on Israel."

Moscow calls for consensus between Damascus and SDF without interfering in Syria’s internal affairs
[NPASYRIA] The senior expert of the Russian Oriental Institute stressed that, Russia has called more than once for the consensus between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), noting that Russia plays the role of mediator only, and doesn't interfere in the internal affairs of Syria, on the other hand, he pointed out that those who are fighting within the Ottoman Turkish military operation in northeastern Syria are The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
's "mercenary" groups, pointing to Russia's support for the government forces and the SDF in their right to retaliate against those groups.

CALLS FOR RECONCILIATION
In a statement to North-Press, Konstantin Troivtsov said that, "Russia has called and demanded more than once that, there should be a reconciliation between the parties, and the necessity to pave the way for dialogue", pointing to Russia's welcome for the mere agreement reached between the two sides on the deployment of the Syrian government forces in northeastern Syria with the participation of the SDF to protect the borders.

RUSSIA IS A MEDIATOR
Regarding the final reconciliation between Damascus and the Kurds, the senior expert of the Russian Oriental Institute believes that, this reconciliation would be in the long term, and Russia is ready to exert all efforts with regard to the consensus between the two parties, noting that Moscow won't interfere directly in the internal Syrian affairs, because the agreement is among the Syrian parties, and that his country's role is as a mediator only.

GROUPS "MERCENARIES" OF TURKEY
Concerning the Ottoman Turkish military operation in northeastern Syria, the Russian expert said: "It is happening by Ottoman Turkish-affiliated groups without direct intervention from the army of Turkey". He noted that, if it was the Ottoman Turkish army, Russia would have forced it out and made it abide by all concluded agreements.

According to Konstantin Troivtsov's prediction, the Ottoman Turkish operation in northeastern Syria is being carried out by the "mercenaries" of the so-called "National Army" of Turkey, who claim to be Syrians.

Troivtsov noted that, so far "no one knows whether they are Syrian or Turks", ruling out that, the military operation in northern Syria is being carried out directly by the Ottoman Turkish army.

The senior expert stressed that, "if the Ottoman Turkish army is fighting within the territories of northern Syria, Russia will warn Turkey, and force it to stop its military operations directly, and will make it to return immediately to all agreements on this issue, including Sochi Agreement".

RIGHT TO RETALIATE
In case that, these strikes aren't directly from Turkey but from its affiliates, the Syrian government forces with the participation of the SDF have the full right to retaliate, amid the full support of Russia, according to Troivtsov.

He also pointed out that, during a statement, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov asked the Syrian army to take control of all Syrian territories urgently, noting that the request was merely a call from Lavrov, and it wasn't an order, since Russia isn’t the commander of the Syrian army.

Elijah Cummings' wife announces bid for his Baltimore seat

, who played a key role in House Democrats’ impeachment inquiry until his death last month, formally launched a bid on Tuesday for his congressional seat in Baltimore.
Wowsers! Not a mention in the entire article of her troubles with fraud and corruption charges!
Maya Rockeymoore Cummings, 48, announced her candidacy to serve out the remainder of her husband’s term in Maryland’s 7th Congressional District a day after resigning her post as chair of the state’s Democratic Party.

She ran for governor in 2017 but dropped out of the race after her husband was hospitalized in January 2018.

Rockeymoore Cummings said on MSNBC on Monday that she and her spouse, who were married in 2008, had discussed the possibility of her succeeding him months ago as his health declined, and he encouraged her to run should he die.
"Ya gotta carry on as my successor, Maya, otherwise you'll have to get a real job"
She revealed in a separate Baltimore Sun interview that she was going through with a preventive double mastectomy planned for Friday, as scheduled and discussed with her husband before his death.

Our ‘hidden’ shame
[DAWN] THE recent arrest of a known paedophile, Sohail Ayaz, has raised serious questions about the government’s handling of child sexual abuse cases.

Ayaz had previously been convicted and sentenced to prison in the UK for child sexual offences, and then, reportedly, deported by Italia for his links to a child pornography ring. Unfortunately, this was not flagged by the authorities here, and he was able to secure a working contract with a KP government department under a foreign-funded project.

If it hadn’t been for the mother of his latest alleged victim, there would have been no stopping his sickening activities. She approached the police in Rawalpindi when her son disappeared for four days. Police said that Ayaz has admitted to raping at least 30 children in Pakistain alone.

The incident reflects the extent of the unspoken social embargo on the subject of child sexual abuse in the country. As many as 1,300 cases of child sexual abuse have been recorded only in the first six months of this year, according to the NGO Sahil. Yet, the reported cases are only the tip of the iceberg as countless parents shy away from registering police cases.

It is astonishing that Ayaz was caught after allegedly raping 30 children; had none of the parents of the victims come forward to report the crime to the authorities and demand stern action? This also shows the parents’ lack of trust in the law-enforcement authorities that have a track record of victim shaming and mishandling cases of this nature.

Who can forget the comment of a police officer in Shahzad Town, Islamabad, who told the family of a missing 10-year-old girl in May that she might have eloped? When the police did spring into action later, after widespread condemnation, it was discovered that the suspect had been booked in two similar cases.

Meanwhile,
...back at the abandoned silver mine, there was another explosion...
the Chunian case suspect was found to have been nearly arrested twice before. Then there was the notorious serial rapist and killer Imran Ali in Kasur city, who was caught only after protests erupted when the body of little Zainab was found in a garbage dump. Four years after the child pornography ring was busted, the victims ‐ almost 300 victims ‐ from Hussain Khanwala village in Kasur district still await justice.

We as a society continue to fail our children. We will keep doing so until we open up and acknowledge the depth of the malaise within.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Tlaib frantically asked campaign for personal money, messages show, as ethics probes announced
Rancida Tlabia is a criminal wh0re
Oh? Fascinating.
Potential solution to vexing car problem.
[Fox News] The House Ethics Committee on Thursday released a trove of striking internal campaign communications sent in 2018 by Michigan Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib, in which Tlaib urgently requested money from her congressional campaign to defray personal expenses -- and, a government watchdog said, possibly violated federal law in the process.
"Impeach the Motherf*cker!" doesn't sound so tough now, does it, Paleotrash?
The document dump was related to the committee's ongoing ethics probe into Tlaib, which the panel said on Thursday would be "expanded" based on a referral from the Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE). Additionally, the Ethics Committee acknowledged for the first time on Thursday an investigation into Florida Democratic Rep. Alcee Hastings concerning a "personal relationship with an individual employed in his congressional office."

Texts and emails released by the Ethics Committee show Tlaib frantically contacting members of her staff for financial help.

In one April 2018 email offered as an exhibit by OCE, Tlaib wrote that she was "struggling financially right now" and was "sinking." She continued: "So I was thinking the campaign could loan me money, but Ryan said that the committee could actually pay me. I was thinking a one time payment of $5k."

In another email, on April 4, 2018, Tlaib wrote: "I am just not going to make it through the campaign without a stipend."

"With the loss of a second income to lean back on," she wrote. "I am requesting $2,000 per two weeks but not exceeding $12,000. The cost of living stipend is going towards much needed expenses due to campaigning that includes car maintenance, child care and other necessities. Please let me know if I can proceed."

In August of that year, Tlaib texted her future chief of staff Ryan Anderson at 6:38 a.m.: "Sorry for the early text but do you think the campaign can still pay me a stipend until the general. Trying to get out of debt."

"I think we definitely afford to do so. But we need to really clearly define your time and space," Anderson responded, noting that the arrangement could arouse "concern" among the media.

The OCE also attached scans of checks made out to Tlaib from her campaign, totaling thousands of dollars.

Talib's lawyers said in August there was no evidence that she violated the law on purpose or otherwise, and insisted there were no bad intentions. They noted that Federal Election Commission (FEC) regulations permit campaigns to "pay limited salary to candidates who curtail outside employment to focus on their campaigns" in certain limited conditions that, the lawyers said, were met in this instance.

The attorneys went on to say it was "most irregular" for OCE to call for a probe into a member of Congress based on pre-election activities, and argued that there was no "conscious disregard of any law or regulation." Tlaib was paid by her campaign after Election Day, the attorneys conceded, but they asserted that the money was for services performed before Election Day.

#1  Three conclusions:

1) It's kind of refreshing, actually, that this specimen is still unwise to the ways of Congressional Grifting. Compare her authentic penury to the corrupt imbeciles like Mad Maxine, Cummings and his widow, et al.

2) counterbalancing #1, in her case her penury isn't noble but the consequence of her obvious inability to do any serious or productive labor, which leads us to ...

3) ... her quite obvious emotional and intellectual disabilities. The reason that she can't make money is that she's a deranged moron with anger management and Daddy issues.

#4  Maybe it's the approaching holiday, ormaybe I'm just feeling charitable, but with each day that passes it appears more and more likely that our blessed Republic is indeed, as Bismarck said, favored by God - along with children and idiots.

The Romans had Brutus and Octavian. We have Loverboy Peter Strzok and Pr0n Lawyer/Shakedown Clown Michael Avenatti.

The French had Robespierre and St-Just. We have Pajama Boy Eric Ciaramella and Occasional Cortex.

The Germans had, well, we all know. We have suited morons at CNN, NYT, WaPo.

Company co-founded by Nancy Pelosi's son charged with securities fraud
[WASHINGTONTIMES] The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) charged a company cofounded by Paul Pelosi Jr. with fraud on Wednesday after learning that two convicted criminals were running the business.

Paul Pelosi Jr., the son of House Minority Leader Nancy San Fran Nan Pelosi
Congresswoman-for-Life from the San Francisco Bay Area, born into a family of professional politicians. On-again-off-again Speaker of the House. It's not her fault when they lose, but it's her accomplishment when they win. Noted for her heavily botoxed grimace and occasional senior... uhhh... moments...
(D., Calif.), was the president and chief operating officer of Natural Blue Resources Inc., an investment company he cofounded that focuses on "environmentally-friendly" ventures.

The SEC charged four individuals with fraud, including former New Mexico Gov. Toney Anaya, and suspended trading in the company’s stock. Pelosi owned over 10 million shares in the company in 2009.
... which you can bet she's long since dumped. But it wouldn't be insider trading, really. Just ask her. You were going to ask, weren't you?
The SEC said Wednesday the company was "secretly controlled" by James E. Cohen and Joseph Corazzi, both of whom had previous fraud convictions. Corazzi violated federal securities laws and was barred from acting as an officer or director of a public company. Cohen was previously incarcerated for financial fraud.

Ocasio-Cortez: Impeaching Trump 'is about preventing a potentially disastrous outcome' in 2020
[WASHINGTONEXAMINER] Democratic Rep. Alexandria Boom Boom Ocasio-Cortez
Dem represntative from da Bronx in Noo Yawk and leader of the Mean Girl Caucus in Congress. One of the Great Minds of the 21st Century, she is known as much for her innaleck as for her dance moves. She is all in favor of socialism, even though she's fuzzy on the details...
admitted that the Democrats' efforts to investigate President Trump are, in part, meant to prevent him from winning reelection in November 2020.
No! Really?
The freshman New York congresswoman made the admission in an interview on CNN Wednesday evening, hours after the House had its first public hearing in the impeachment investigation into Trump's foreign policy decisions regarding Ukraine.

"I think many of those considerations will be taken up by the Judiciary Committee when all of this evidence is brought forth," Ocasio-Cortez stated. "We’ll see. I personally do believe that the president has engaged in flagrant violations of the emoluments clause. I'm concerned that we would allow this corruption to continue. But at the end of the day, we have to be able to come together as a caucus, and if it is this Ukrainian allegation that is what brings the caucus together, then I think we have to run with however we unify the House."

Ocasio-Cortez has called for the president's impeachment since before her inauguration.

"While I believe personally that we should be pursuing and investigating quite flagrant abuses of the emoluments clause, even reporting as recently as the suspicious stops at Trump properties even in congressional delegations or rather in foreign trips, I think all of this is game for investigation," she added.

"We also need to move quite quickly because we’re talking about the potential compromise of the 2020 elections. This is not just about something that has occurred, this is about preventing a potentially disastrous outcome from occurring next year," she concluded.

Judge rules ‘ISIS bride’ Hoda Muthana is not a US citizen
[NYPOST] "ISIS bride" Hoda Muthana is not a US citizen ‐ and America is under no obligation to let her back into the country, a federal judge ruled Thursday.

Judge Reggie Walton found there was enough evidence to prove Muthana ‐ the US-born mom who fled her home in Alabama to join the terror group in Syria in 2014 but has been begging to come back to the US ‐ was born while her father was a Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
i diplomat, BuzzFeed News reported.
That makes her a natural born Yemeni citizen through her father, right? Where are her grandparents and uncles and cousins in all this?
The judge said Muthana’s father, Ahmed Ali Muthana, can’t provide financial support to either her or her 2-year-old son, Adam, who was born in ISIS territory, without facing potential charges of providing material support to terrorism.

Christina Jump, one of the lawyers representing the Muthana family, confirmed the judge’s ruling in a statement obtained by The Post.

"While we are disappointed with and disagree with the Court’s ruling today, this is not the end of our client’s legal options. We will wait to read the Court’s written opinion, and will evaluate our available options at that time," Jump said.

Federal Thrift Savings Board Insists on Investing in China Stock
Little Marco' gettin' upset!
[EpochTimes] "It's unconscionable that the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board did not reverse their short-sighted‐and foolish‐decision to transfer the retirement savings of our service members and federal employees to the Chinese Communist Party," Rubio told The Epoch Times on Nov. 14.

The TSB met on Oct. 28 and opted to continue as planned as a result of its decision to move its International Fund Index to the MSCI All Country World ex-U.S. Investable Market Index.
What the TSB is doing is is indeed "unconscionable".

But why should Rubio, Shaheen, Romney et al be upset?

It's just another case of unelected bureaucrats ignoring what elected officials want, and making their own policy.

The Senators were just fine with this when it happened to Trump.

Mueller's Ethically-Challenged ‘Pit Bull' Andrew Weissmann Joins NBC as ‘Legal Analyst'
HT AOSHQ
[AMGreatness] Robert Mueller's infamous "pit bull" has joined the NBC news team, making his debut as a "legal analyst" on Wednesday for the first public impeachment hearing.

NBC described the Mueller team leader as a "legendary prosecutor"‐which he is actually, but not in a good way.

Andrew Weissmann is a former Justice Department official who is known for engaging in ruthless and unethical behavior in several high-profile cases. Gen. Michael Flynn's attorney Sidney Powell, in fact, made him the lead villain in her book "Licensed to Lie" and has labeled him "the poster boy for prosecutorial misconduct."

Weissmann will be offering advice to House Democrats for their impeachment inquisition against President Trump in his new position at NBC/MSNBC, further confirming the hyper-partisan nature of the Mueller probe.

On MSNBC Wednesday, he stressed that Democrat lawmakers need to present a case to the American people, arguing that Trump needs to be impeached right away, rather than waiting for the election to decide the president's fate.

"The key thing that the Democrats have to think about is, where are you going to be at the end? What is it that you're going to be asking people to really care about? And you need to find out ‐ and make the case for ‐ why should there be impeachment where people vote to convict as opposed to acquit now, and not sort of let it go to the election?" Weissmann said.

Once reason why Weissmann may like to see Trump removed from office ASAP is because he was allegedly involved in the DOJ's alleged 2016 election malfeasance.

IDF hits more IJ targets pre dawn 15Nov; IJ rockets fired 14 Nov post truce
[IsraelTimes] The Israel Defense Forces said it had launched fresh airstrikes on Palestinian Islamic Jihad targets in the Gaza Strip in the predawn hours of Friday morning, in response to four rocket attacks from the coastal enclave which violated a ceasefire agreement announced the day before.

Palestinian media reported that Israeli drones and fighter jets were conducting strikes on PIJ facilities in the cities of Khan Younis and Rafah in the southern Strip.

"We are currently striking Islamic Jihad terror targets in Gaza. This comes after rockets were indiscriminately fired from Gaza at Israeli civilians today," the IDF said in a statement.

Iranian businessman sentenced to 46 months for sanction violation
[Jpost] Iranian businessman Behzad Pourghannad was sentenced on Wednesday to 46 months in prison for violating US sanctions against Iran, the US Justice Department announced yesterday in a statement.

Pourghannad had plead guilty on August 29 before a US magistrate judge for charges of participating in a conspiracy to export carbon fiber from the United States to Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan, the abbreviation IRGC is a cognate form of Stürmabteilung (or SA), the term Supreme Guide is a cognate form of either Shah or Führer or maybe both, and they hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
between 2008 and 2013.

"Pourghannad falsified shipment documents and used front companies to export carbon fiber to Iran in violation of US sanctions," said John C. Demers, assistant attorney of national security. "Carbon fiber is used by the Iranian Regime to further its nuclear, military, and aerospace programs. We continue to thwart the efforts of the Iranian regime to evade our sanctions and work steadfastly with our international partners to investigate, prosecute and bring sanctions violators to justice."

According to Geoffrey Berman, US attorney for the southern district of New York, "Behzad Pourghannad conspired to circumvent US export controls on carbon fiber, a substance with numerous military and aerospace applications. The significant sentence Pourghannad received should send a message that such violations, which threaten our national security, will incur stiff penalties."

Pourghannad lived and worked in Iran between 2008 and July 2013 with his two codefendants, Ali Reza Shokri and Farzin Faridmanesh. During that period, they worked together to export carbon fiber obtained from the US to Iran via third countries, in violation of US sanctions. Shokri in particular worked to obtain several tons of carbon fiber from the US; Pourghannad agreed to serve as the financial guarantor for large transactions; and Faridmanesh was to serve as trans-shipper.

Carbon fiber is a multi-use product, and can be used in missiles, aerospace engineering and gas centrifuges that enrich uranium.

According to the indictment, as well as other documents from the case, there were numerous specific transactions and trans-shipment that took place over the span of these six years. No one involved in the transactions had received any permission from the US Treasury to export the fiber.

Attorney Berman praised the FBI and US Commerce Department for their work in the investigation, as well as the Justice Department's National Security Division, Criminal Division's Office of International Affairs, the US Marshals and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.

#3  The best predictive model is Political Scientist Allan Lichtman's "13 Keys," a diagnostic model that poses 13 true-false propositions, of which any 6, if True for the party that occupies the presidency, will predict that that party retain its hold. This is the most successful predictive model that I'm aware of, and Lichtman was the only forecaster or political scientist to predict Trump's victory in 2016.

He predicts Trump will win in 2020 as well.

Here's how: If the incumbent is running, then any SIX of these "keys," if True, will predict re-election. Fully EIGHT of these, below, are definitely True. This is why Prof. Lichtman, a liberal Democrat, is comfortable predicting, even at this early stage, that Trump will win in 2020-- the TRUE keys are in boldface:

1. Party Mandate: After the midterm elections, the incumbent party holds more seats in the U.S. House of Representatives than after the previous midterm elections.

2. Contest: There is no serious contest for the incumbent party nomination.

3. Incumbency: The incumbent party candidate is the sitting president.

4. Third party: There is no significant third party or independent campaign.

5. Short term economy: The economy is not in recession during the election campaign.

6. Long term economy: Real per capita economic growth during the term equals or exceeds mean growth during the previous two terms.

7. Policy change: The incumbent administration affects major changes in national policy.

8. Social unrest: There is no sustained social unrest during the term.

9. Scandal: The incumbent administration is untainted by major scandal.

10. Foreign/military failure: The incumbent administration suffers no major failure in foreign or military affairs.

11. Foreign/military success: The incumbent administration achieves a major success in foreign or military affairs.

12. Incumbent charisma: The incumbent party candidate is charismatic or a national hero.

13. Challenger charisma: The challenging party candidate is not charismatic or a national hero. .

#8  #5 tw - note that I didn't even score this one (#9, Scandal) for Trump. I actually conceded it to the Dems, given that half the country's been brainwashed by their idiocy on this point, and I recognize that perception = reality for the purpose of rigorous, honest analysis.

Even conceding this point, Trump STILL has 8 total "keys" ie he could give up even two of them and still be predicted to win per Prof. Lichtman's model.

That's a pretty damned strong position to be in.

#14  All valid objections but eppur si muovo: hisxtrack revord's better than anyone's. He got 2016 right when all the polling-based models were predicting Hillary would trounce her opponent.

I'm with Lichtman. Assuming Trump and his team have a solid ground game in nonurban Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and Florida, Trump has to be favored.

The polls are BS. They understate the man's support among likely voters by at least 7 points.

Chinook With Super Powerful New T408 Engines
[The Drive] The picture has emerged of a Boeing CH-47 Chinook helicopter fitted with a pair of powerful General Electric T408 engines. The company had said in May that it was preparing to flight test a Chinook equipped with these engines, which are the same ones found on Sikorsky's troubled, but immensely powerful CH-53K King Stallion.

The official Twitter account for the U.S. Army's Combat Capabilities Development Command's Aviation and Missile Center, which is situated at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama, posted a shot of the rear of the modified helicopter, which has the tail number 067, on the social media site on Nov. 12, 2019. The Tweet also included a view of the same helicopter from the front, but taken at a different time when it had no engines installed at all.

He got more than crumbs from insider trading in September 2008, thanks to his access to closed-door testimony from Hank Paulson to the Senate Finance Committee during the depths of the financial meltdown. Here's an excerpt from Peter Schweitzer's excellent reporting on all the insider traders in Congress-- Kerry was one of the worst:

On Tuesday, September 16, 2008, when Henry Paulson and Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke held another of their terrifying closed-door meetings with congressional leaders (two days before the “ashen-faced” meeting), the stock market had dipped only a few percentage points, and most people assumed that the financial crisis was a disruption that would have just a limited effect on the broader economy.

But what Paulson and Bernanke told lawmakers on September 16 made it clear that the public’s perception was wrong. Paulson, in his memoir, explains that during the meeting he outlined that the federal government was going to bail out the insurance giant AIG and that the markets were in deep trouble. “There was an almost surreal quality to the meeting,” he recounts. “The stunned lawmakers looked at us as if not quite believing what they were hearing.”

The next day, Congressman Jim Moran, Democrat of Virginia, a member of the Appropriations Committee, dumped his shares in ninety different companies....

September 17, 2008, was by far Moran’s most active trading day of the year. He dumped shares in Goldman Sachs, General Dynamics, Franklin Resources, Flowserve Corporation, Ecolabs, Edison International, Electronic Arts, DirecTV, Conoco, Procter & Gamble, AT&T, Apple, CVS, Cisco, Chubb, and a dozen more
companies. Moran’s timing was impeccable. He didn’t profit very much from these trades, but he avoided the larger losses that the general public would face in a matter of weeks. Moran and his wife actually eked out a net capital gain on these trades.

Moran was just one of many.
At least ten U.S. senators, including John Kerry, Sheldon Whitehouse, and Dick Durbin, traded stock or mutual funds related to the financial industry the following day.

...Senator Durbin did not just sell stocks based on his inside knowledge. Like [GOP Rep. Spencer] Bachus, he was looking for opportunities to invest. Though he sold many of his holdings, he also bought tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of Berkshire Hathaway...Durbin bought shares on September 19 and 22 — more than $60,000 worth.

His timing was nearly perfect. The next day, September 23, it was announced that Berkshire Hathaway was buying part of Goldman Sachs, which would yield a 10% guaranteed dividend for Berkshire investors like Durbin. The deal had been discussed behind closed doors for days before Buffett announced it publicly. Durbin’s spokesman insists that the senator “didn’t use any information from that closed-door gathering to counsel his trades the following day.” Yet it is almost certain that Durbin, as chairman of a crucial subcommittee, knew about the Goldman Sachs deal.

When the House Financial Services Committee was crafting legislation for the bailout of banks in the fall of 2008, eight members of the committee were actively and aggressively trading bank stocks. So too were members of the Senate Finance Committee.

As the Treasury Department was conferring over which banks would get the bailout money,
Senator John Kerry started buying Citigroup stock. The markets might have been down and in turmoil, but Kerry was buying the troubled company. Lots of it. He purchased up to $550,000 in Citigroup stock in early and mid-October. He also bought up to $350,000 in Bank of America shares.

Days later, on October 28, it was announced that Citigroup was getting $25 billion from the TARP. Capital Purchase Program and another $25 billion from the Targeted Investment Program.

On November 4, it was announced that Citi would be provided additional loan guarantees that could total $277 billion, from the Treasury, the Federal Reserve, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

#5  The news blackout from NYT, WaPo, CNN et al. is surreal.

It's no worse than it was during Obama's reign of lawlessness.

If any of the MSM outlets told me water was wet, I'd check it myself.

#6  Federalist Papers article:

BREAKING, Leaked Documents Show Tens Of Millions From Ukraine Paid To Kerry, Biden Jr Fund, Report

Documents have been discovered that show cash transfers from a Ukrainian gas company to a slush fund operated by several major Democrats.

The slush fund is reportedly run by former Secretary of State John Kerry, John Kerry Jr., another Kerry family member and Hunter Biden, Michael Coudrey reported.

“Leaked documents from the Ukrainian General Prosecutor’s office indicate complex money transfers from foreign sources into the control of a ‘slush fund’ owned and operated by Devon Archer, John Kerry Senior, John Kerry Junior, Heinz Jr, and Hunter Biden,” he said.

“According to the Department of Financial Monitoring (Counter-intelligence) of Latvia, the following sums of money were obtained from Busima Holding Limited (Cyprus) which is open at AS PrivatBank in Latvia.

“This describes the money transfer of $14,655,982 and $366,015 EUR from “Wirelogic Technology AS”, and $1,964,375 from “Digitex Organization LLP”.
