Report: North Korea readying nukes
Temper tantrum that will get people killed en masse?
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has ordered his country's nuclear weapons made ready for use at a moment's notice, the official state news agency reported Friday.

Kim also said his country will ready its military so it is prepared to carry out pre-emptive attacks, calling the current situation very precarious, according to KCNA.

On Thursday, North Korea fired six short-range projectiles into the sea off its east coast, South Korean officials said, just hours after the U.N. Security Council approved the toughest sanctions on the North in two decades for its recent nuclear test and long-range rocket launch.

#1  That's alright - America's golfer-in-chief has got everything under control. That Nobel peace prize is worth more than any missile shield, or interceptor capability. Rest easy - we are protected by wise and steady hands.

#3  It shall be the policy of this nation to regard any nuclear missile launched from North Korea against any ally of the United States as an attack of North Korea AND China on the United States, requiring a full retaliatory response upon North Korea AND China.

Romney decides that Republican voters should be ignored. He knows better than voters.
Welcome to the NEW WHIG PARTY! Romney enjoy killing the Whig er Republican party. BECAUSE, OBVIOUSLY, The opinion of the voters does not matter to you elites.
Mitt Romney delivered a sweeping broadside against Donald Trump on Thursday, laying into the Republican presidential front-runner with a sharper attack than any of the party's 2016 contenders have made against the billionaire business mogul.

"Here's what I know: Donald Trump is a phony, a fraud," Romney said. "His promises are as worthless as a degree from Trump University. He's playing members of the American public for suckers: He gets a free ride to the White House, and all we get is a lousy hat."

And had you been elected, Mitt, I suspect a lot of us would still feel the same way.

#5  My thoughts are that Rubio has placed the word "con artist" there as part of larger strategery, along with a couple other suspicious nuggets over the last few days. Romney, apparently an establishment tool, has assembled these pieces along with other items (such as Trumps returns, which I don't care about) that just don't seem to die no matter how much Trump disavows or explains. Things like making up stories about how everyone calls him "The Donald" as a badge of disrespect. I thought Melania came up with that, and it doesn't seem disrespectful. Or I'm sure Trump would have said something about it long ago.

AFAIAC, we are heading towards socialism. Rather than let the planners get their "share", I'll take the chance that the whole thing burns to the ground rather than they get anything. Personally, I don't think Trump would let that happen.

#8  And if The Donald is any kind of KKK Grand Wizard, why did Romney accept his endorsement years ago? After all, according to Romney's own words, accepting such an endorsement would be horrible. All The Donald wanted to do was look into who was behind a couple of obscure groups before he made a decision, which is more than I can say of the current PoS inhabiting the Whitehouse.

#9  If Romney had said "Gee, you know, Trump's an OK-ish guy, but I really like Cruz" it might have actually accomplished something. But saying "OMG! This Nazi actually means what he said when he endorsed me four years ago!" isn't going to do jack shit but add to Trump's vote totals.

For people who live in the fantasy of the old republic. It's over. It's done. It's not about Democrats vs Republicans or socialists vs conservatives. It's about power and how the ruling caste walked away from the bulk of the political body to impose their view of the world by dividing and in doing so alienated so many they created the situation they face now. The outer party and proles are realizing their choice is in a leader who will at least articulate their frustrations and address them, cause the ruling caste has refused to even though empowered to do so. Lip service. It's now a choice of Caesar, Pompey or Crassus.

Festivals Celebrating Witchcraft, "Faery Magick," and Voodoo at the USAF Academy
[Judicial Watch] (Washington, DC) -- Judicial Watch announced today that on October 8, 2015, it obtained documents from the United States Air Force Academy revealing that in 2014 and 2015, the Academy used its "Chapel Tithes and Offering Fund" to pay for cadets to participate in worship services featuring witchcraft, "Faery Magick," and voodoo. The records reveal that the Air Force Academy paid to send cadets to a Wiccan festival in Denver in May 2014 and a Denver Witches Ball in October of the same year.

The Tithes and Offering Fund, though funded by "free-will donations," is also defined as "an instrumentality of the United States Government."

According to a promotional brochure obtained by Judicial Watch, a group called "Spiritual Programs in Religious Education" hosted events at the Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel Falcon Circle on the Academy campus. The Academy website describes Falcon Circle as "The worship area [for]... an umbrella of traditions that includes Wicca, Paganism and Druidism."

Two soldiers stabbed at entrance to settlement
[IsraelTimes] Large manhunt as attackers escape after lightly injuring troops at Har Bracha outside Nablus

Two Israeli soldiers were lightly injured in a stabbing attack inside an Israeli settlement in the central West Bank Wednesday evening, the second such attack in the area in a day.

The stabbing took place after 7 p.m. at the entrance to the settlement of Har Bracha, south of Nablus, as two assailants attacked soldiers at the settlement guard booth, the IDF said.

After stabbing two soldiers, the attackers escaped the scene. Troops launched a large manhunt for the attackers and area residents were told to stay in their homes.

One victim suffered a wound to his shoulder and was taken to a hospital in Petah Tikva. The second soldier was treated for light injuries at the scene, according to the Magen David Adom rescue service.

Two Paleostinians were incarcerated

Gazan Islamic State fighter blasts group’s close Hamas ties
Oooooh, first President al Sisi is going to dig up more tunnels.
Abu Abdallah offers one of the most detailed descriptions yet published of the cooperation between Sinai Province and Hamas, ties that include weapons smuggling by each group for the other; Hamas’s manufacture in Gazoo of Sinai Province’s uniforms, explosives and communications equipment; Hamas’s provision of medical care in Gazoo hospitals for maimed IS fighters, who are kept under the direct protection of Hamas’s military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades; and even "feasts" held for IS leaders at the homes of senior Hamas officials in Gazoo.
[IsraelTimes] In letter to ‘caliph,’ jihadist in Syria complains of joint military efforts with Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, in Sinai even as group tortures IS supporters

Reserve soldier attacked outside home, attackers killed
[Ynet] Roi Harel stepped outside his home in the West Bank settlement of Eli on his way to reserve duty, when he saw two terrorists outside his home, carrying clubs. They managed to lightly wound Harel, who fought back and then locked himself and his family inside their home. The attackers were found and killed a short while later by IDF soldiers.

terrorists infiltrated the settlement of Eli in the West Bank early Wednesday morning, and attacked a local resident at his doorstep with clubs. They ran away but were killed by security forces soon after.

Roi Harel recounted the incident: "I was stepping out of the house, going to reserve duty, at around 5:00am," Harel told Ynet. "I opened the door, and saw two terrorists with hatred and anger in their eyes. They attacked me with clubs and axes, and entered my home. After a couple of seconds I came to, and I ran after them as they had almost reached my children's bedrooms. I managed to push them outside the house and I locked my door."

Harel was lightly wounded in the attack, later being evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, receiving treatment for cuts to his head. "I was very shaken," he said, "It's not a simple feeling, especially because my wife and five children were inside the house. No I'm OK, and being treated."

The two terrorists were 17-year-olds from the village of Qaryut near Nablus. They are the 12th pair of terrorists to carry out attacks since the beginning of the current terror wave.

"If anyone has any doubts as to their intentions, two 17-year-olds came to slaughter me, my wife and my kids. In the seconds during which I fought with them, I thought to myself that what happened to theFogel and Gavish families. I screamed to my wife to call the settlement's guard, the children woke up and cried but my wife was with them in the bedroom, so they hardly saw anything."

While fleeing from the Harel home, the attackers broke the windows of several vehicles in the area. After that, they apparently hid, eventually deciding to continue with further attacks. They ran into IDF soldiers, and were killed.

Europe
Chaos, riots as France dismantles Calais migrant camp called the 'Jungle'
[USATODAY] Rahmanjan Safy scrambled to salvage anything valuable from the demolished tents and makeshift shelters at this Calais migrant camp Wednesday, even as riot police and bulldozers destroyed the site.

Food, clothing, spoons -- he picked up everything he could find.

Safy, 25, from Jalalabad, Afghanistan, has been in La Belle France since 2009. He once lived in this camp but now works with an organization that helps the migrants colonists and refugees. Driving his big white truck, he moved these precious commodities to a section of the camp still intact, so people could still use them.

"I once was in the same situation as them," he said. "I never forgot. I want to help them."

A judge gave the green light last week for the French government to tear down part of the Calais "Jungle," as the camp is commonly called, but riots broke out this week amid the resulting chaos.

Police and bulldozers began pushing migrants colonists out of tents and temporary shelters Monday, tearing apart the ad hoc camp that houses an estimated 6,000 people.

Camp residents fought back, starting fires and attacking police with rocks. The situation Wednesday was calmer, if not less tense. Confusion, uncertainty and sorrow still hang over the camp and the people who have no place to go.

They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS) group, the would-be recruiter told Pak journalist Hasan Abdullah, "Brother, you could be such an asset to the Ummah"-- the Islamic community. Abdullah replied that he was enjoying life and had no plans to join the murderous Moslems.

"The enjoyment of this life is short-lived. You should work for the Akhira" -- the afterlife, the recruiter pressed.

IS had its eye on Abdullah not because he adheres to any murderous Moslem ideology but because, as a journalist, the group believed he could be a boon to its propaganda machine, Abdullah told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named, recounting his meeting with the recruiter.

His encounter was a sign of how the IS is looking for sophisticated skills as it builds its foothold in new territory: Pakistain.

The Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
police’s top counter terrorism official, Raja Umer Khitab, warns that IS has great potential to grow in Pakistain.

IS first announced its presence in the country with a bloody attack in May in Karachi in which gunnies boarded a bus, ordered them to bow their heads, then opened fire, killing 45. The gunnies left behind a tattered piece of paper proclaiming, "Beware ... We have entered the battlefield for retribution and the implementation of Shariah."

The number of IS loyalists in Pakistain is not known. Government officials only recently admitted that they have a presence and insist loyalists here have no known operational links to the IS leadership in Iraq and Syria.

Still, in one of the first warnings by an official about IS, intelligence chief Aftab Sultan told a Senate committee earlier this month that hundreds of Paks have gone to fight in Syria, and some are now coming home to Pakistain to recruit.

One way IS holy warriors are trying to recruit and build is through women. One academy for women in Karachi’s Baloch Colony neighborhood recruited women by playing IS videos in the classrooms, Khitab told the AP. The 20 female students then reached out to middle-class and wealthy Karachi women, urging them to donate their religious tithes to the IS cause of establishing a caliphate.

Several women were detained, including the wife of a suspected IS operative, and were released after questioning, Khitab said.

IS recruiters have been stalking university campuses. For example, the suspected criminal mastermind in the bus attack, Saad Aziz, was a graduate of the US-funded Institute of Business Administration in Karachi.

A professor at the Institute, Huma Baqai, said there are radicalised professors teaching in some of the country’s top universities. They "are using the classrooms to mold (students’) minds," she said. "There is no scrutiny in what happens in the classroom."

An intelligence official told the AP that security officials have interrogated several university professors suspected of supporting IS and trying to recruit students.

"Finding people who are willing to strap on a boom jacket and blow themselves up is easy. There are hundreds, thousands," said Abdullah, the journalist. But the educated are a bigger prize. He said he knows two other journalists whom IS tried to enlist. Abdullah said IS probably sought him because he was known from his work writing on extremism in the region and has met many holy warriors personally.

3 militants trapped in Tral village
[Daily Excelsior] Three murderous Moslems of Hizbul Mujahideen have been trapped in Dadsar village of South Kashmire’s Tral area where security forces are battling against residents as well, who are throwing stones at them, to facilitate murderous Moslems to flee from the cordon.

Police and Army’s 42-RR cordoned off Mir Mohalla of Dadsar and conducted searches in the village after they received information about presence of three Lion of Islams. They have been identified as Mohammad Asif of Dadsar, Ashiq Hussain of Bahu Sharsu and Sabzar Ahmad of Ratsuna Tral of Hizbul Mujahideen outfit.

As the security forces zeroed in near a residential house where 3 murderous Moslems are trapped, locals pelted stones on security forces leading to festivities.

Police fired teargas shells to quell the protests and also fired few aerial gunshots. However,
a lie repeated often enough remains a lie...
the protesters continued to pelt stones in order to give safe passage to Lion of Islams.

The cordon around the village has been tightened to prevent murderous Moslems from fleeing.

IS gunmen fleeing Libya take terror to Tunisian border town
Tunis, 2 March 2016:

At least six people were killed and two others injured in deadly clashes near the Tunisian town of Ben Guerdane between armed militants who had crossed from Libya and Tunisian army and security forces today. The militants are believed to be Islamic State supporters fleeing from Sabratha after the US air raid on some of their facilities there and last week’s subsequent clashes with locals.

Five militants, believed to be three Tunisians and two Libyans, died when they clashed with Tunisian security forces and army. It was reported on social media that two of them blew themselves up inside a house in which they had tried to hide. A Ben Guerdane local was killed by a stray bullet. A Tunisian colonel and security official were also injured in the operation which lasted for five hours.

Eleven militants altogether are said to have crossed into Tunisia using four-wheel drive vehicles.

A Ben Guerdane local who asked to remain anonymous told the Libya Herald that the operation took place in open farmland in the Awiji area, a few kilometres south of Ben Guerdane. The area has traditionally been associated with illegal smuggling from Libya.

Tunisian security officials say they seized five Kalashnikovs, three 4WD vehicles, ammunition, hand grenades and mobile phones among other items in the possession of the armed group. They also discovered an arms cache in the area where the weapons were found.

Several Tunisian media sources reported that some of the armed group members forced their way into nearby houses and hostage some of the occupants.

Army reinforcements were sent after a Ben Guerdane resident alerted security officials about the presence of the group in the Awiji area.

Belhassen Weslati, the spokesman of Tunisian Ministry of Defence, told Watania 1 TV station tonight that they saturated the area in which the “terrorist elements” took shelter, staging a wide sweeping operation.

Yasser Mosbah, from the Tunisian Ministry of Interior media department, speaking on the same channel, claimed that the infiltrators were IS members who had survived the 19 February US airstrike at Sabratha and the subsequent clashes between IS and local forces. Over 40 IS fighters, almost all of them Tunisians, died in the airstrike.

It had been expected that militants from Sabratha would try to flee to Tunisia, he added, Following today’s operation, Tunisian air force fighter planes have been patrolling the buffer zone along the border.

The controversy of 'From Time Immemorial'
I remember reading about this sh*t storm back in the day.
[IsraelHayom] Imagine, if you will, the following scenario: An Obama administration official quits his job and devotes seven years of his life to writing a well-researched book that pulls the rug out from underneath his former boss regarding the Iranian issue. Then imagine that the book offers a sympathetic view of Israel that is factually based and that reveals information that was not previously known. U.S. President Barack Obama can only express anger, bewilderment, and frustration in response. This leaves the Democrats with a dilemma. Do they remain true to the facts or loyal to their president?

Astonishingly enough, this is a true story, though it took place in another era. It happened at a time when the administration in power -- also Democratic -- was about as friendly as the current administration. It happened during the presidency of Jimmy Carter. Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin was in power at the time, and Benjamin Netanyahu was making his initial foray into Israeli politics.

Action against terror takes priority over dialogue: India
[Daily Excelsior] India today suggested that action against terror by Pakistain was a greater priority for it than resumption of a bilateral dialogue in the aftermath of the Pathankot attack, which led to postponement of the Foreign Secretary-level talks.

Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar said there are "obstacles" in improving ties between the two countries and noted that Pakistain needs to change its attitude towards a number of issues of which terrorism is "central".

"In the aftermath of a terror attack, if you ask me what do you give priority to, a terrorist attack or a diplomatic dialogue, I think the answer should be obvious," he said.

The Foreign Secretary was replying to a question during an interactive session at the Raisina Dialogue -- a conclave on geoeconomics and geopolitics -- on whether FS-level talks were linked to action by Islamabad against perpetrators of the Pathankot attack, based on information given to it by India.

The comments by Jaishankar came as a five-member Joint Investigation Team (JIT) from Pakistain is likely to visit India this month to probe the Pathankot terror assault. India had said Masood Azhar, head of Pakistain-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed, criminal masterminded the attack and sought action against him and other perpetrators.

Jaishankar said the two countries were in touch with each other following the attack, primarily at the level of National Security Advisers, and to a certain extent between him and his Pak counterpart. He said "parallel processes" are at works.

On improving connectivity between India and Pakistain, he said, "It takes two hands to clap" and that India would like to have same kind of ties with Islamabad like it has with other neighbours.

"Most people in this country want to treat Pakistain as a normal neighbour. So, we would like to do with Pakistain what we do with everybody else. But the fact is that there are obstacles and we know what the obstacles are," he said, emphasising on the need to remove them.

Talking about overall Indo-Pak ties, he said India was for a "much more modern relationship" with Islamabad but for that to happen the neighbouring country needed a change in attitude towards a number of issues of which terrorism is a "central" one.

To a question whether India and Pakistain can remain isolated, Jaishankar said they should not and that New Delhi has been making sincere efforts to improve its ties with Islamabad.

"I cannot think of any Prime Minister of India who did not strive for better relations with Pakistain. There may be differences in nuances, pace and packaging," he said.

Last month, Pakistain had lodged an FIR in the Pathankot terror attack case which was seen by India as a "step forward" in bringing the perpetrators of the strike to justice.

The FIR was filed against "unknown persons" though India had named Masood Azhar as the criminal mastermind of the strike.

India had submitted evidence to show that the six perpetrators who attacked the air base came from across the border, and demanded action against the terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed led by Azhar.

Yesterday, Pakistain Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif
... served two non-consecutive terms as prime minister, heads the Pakistain Moslem League (Nawaz). Noted for his spectacular corruption, the 1998 Pak nuclear test, border war with India, and for being tossed by General Musharraf...
’s Foreign Affairs Advisor Sartaj PrunefaceAziz
...Adviser to Pak Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on National Security and Foreign Affairs, who believes in good jihadis and bad jihadis as a matter of national policy...
said the SIT may visit India in the next few days and hoped that the Foreign Secretary-level talks will be scheduled very soon.

Pakistain had last week set up a five-member Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to probe the terror attack.

Earlier, a six-member SIT was set up by the Government for conducting an initial probe into the January 2 attack based on the leads given by India.

Lavrov: Russia Wants Syrian Border with Turkey Closed
[ALMANAR.LB] Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov called Tuesday for the closure of Syria's border with The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
to cut off outside supplies to "terrorists", including through humanitarian convoys.

"Of course, neither in ceasefire agreements, nor in the process of political settlement is there a place for bandidos turbans and hard boys," Lavrov told the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.

"A very special task is to cut the terrorists' supply from the outside. For this purpose it is important to close the Syrian-Turkish border, since across this border those gangs receive arms, including with humanitarian convoys," Lavrov said.

He insisted that a "landslide defeat of the ISIL group... al-Nusra

His comments came after aid workers on Monday made the first delivery of desperately-needed assistance since the start of Syria's fragile ceasefire four days ago.

Religious parties can derail govt, Fazl tells Sana
[DAWN] Jamaat Ulema-e-Islam
...Assembly of Islamic Clergy, or JUI, is a Pak Deobandi (Hanafi) political party. There are two main branches, one led by Maulana Fazlur Rahman, and one led by Maulana Samiul Haq. Fazl is active in Pak politix and Sami spends more time running his madrassah. Both branches sponsor branches of the Taliban, though with plausible deniability...
(Fazl) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman
Deobandi holy man, known as Mullah Diesel during the war against the Soviets, his sympathies for the Taliban have never been tempered by honesty ...
says that although the religious parties are not in a position to form the government, they can definitely derail it.

"Rana Sanaullah says that the people do not cast their vote for religious parties but I want to make it clear to Sanaullah that though we are not in a position to form the government, we are able to derail the government whenever we want," he said while talking to the media here on Tuesday.

Fazl said the government should introduce legislation under which a person who committed blasphemy against the Holy Prophet be punished automatically and people might not have to take law in their hands. He said a meeting of religious elements would be called soon over the issues of the protection of religious seminaries and Women Protection Act to devise future line of action.

The JUI-F chief said the Women Protection Act passed by the Punjab
1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard
2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

Assembly was against the constitution, law and Islamic teachings.

"We reject all such laws and will continue to play our role to protect the Sharia as such laws usually are introduced to fulfill the foreign agenda," he said.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Backed by Russian air cover, Syrian Army mobilizing troops Aleppo
[ARA News] ALEPPO – Syrian regime’s army mobilized Wednesday hundreds of troops and heavy weapons in the southern countryside of Aleppo, north Syria, in preparation to storm rebels’ positions in the area.

Forces loyal to the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad have take several towns in southern Aleppo as military bases, including the towns of al-Mrej and Khan Touman.

This was coupled with Russian fighter jets conducting sorties over Aleppo, military sources reported.

Speaking to ARA News in Aleppo, Saleh Zein, spokesman for the Levant Front (major rebel faction fighting in Aleppo), said that pro-Assad army units and allied Shiite militias were heavily mobilized in southern Aleppo.

“Pro-Assad forces are trying to take advantage of the current ceasefire to take over the entire southern countryside of Aleppo,” Zein said.

This comes after the regime’s army units lost ground to rebel factions in northeastern Aleppo.

“The regime intends to continue its advance south of Aleppo after recapturing main towns and villages from the rebels in the recent weeks,” local media activist Mustafa Sulaiman told ARA News. “The Russian sorties helped secure the movements of pro-Assad troops in the area on Wednesday.”

In the meantime, over 20 rebel fighters from the Levant Front were reportedly killed in Russian airstrikes.

“The Russian warplanes targeted rebel strongholds in the villages of Zarbeh, Tall al-Sultan and Wasta in southeastern Aleppo, killing 22 rebel fighters and wounding dozens more,” Sulaiman reported.

Spokesman of the Levant Front said that their fighters responded to the strikes by bombing headquarters of pro-Assad forces in the al-Ayss town with a number of mortar shells, without giving further details.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Justice Dept. grants immunity to staffer who set up Clinton email server
Sh*t getting real. If he has immunity, then refusal to testify = contempt and jail. Stay away from Ft. Marcy Park
The Justice Department has granted immunity to the former State Department staffer who worked on Hillary Clinton's private email server as part of a criminal investigation into the possible mishandling of classified information, according to a senior law enforcement official.

The official said the FBI had secured the cooperation of Bryan Pagliano, who worked on Clinton's 2008 presidential campaign before setting up the server in her New York home in 2009.

As the FBI looks to wrap up its investigation in the coming months, agents will likely want to interview Clinton and her senior aides about the decision to use a private server, how it was set up, and whether any of the participants knew they were sending classified information in emails, current and former officials said.

The inquiry comes against a sensitive political backdrop in which Clinton is the favorite to secure the Democratic nomination for the presidency.

So far, there is no indication that prosecutors have convened a grand jury in the email investigation to subpoena testimony or documents, which would require the participation of a U.S. attorney's office.

#3  The words are clear indicators. Immunity...Immunity from prosection, not immunity from a mere inquiry. Immunity is not offered unless the prosecutor has established probable cause in his/her mind that a crime has occurred. You can conclude that the Justice Department has physical evidence that they wish to be corroborated by Pagliano. He will have to cooperate fully to maintain the immunity...or face charges. The odds of a grand jury have increased immeasurably.

If she wins the election in November, will Champ simply pardon her and her evil minions before he leaves office.

#23  Getting ready to say the same thing: the FBI is very careful about offering immunity. They do it when

1) they have a pretty good idea what you're going to say
2) they have a pretty firm hold on your manly/lady parts

That they've offered immunity to Mr. Pagliano says that the FBI knows (and his lawyer knows) that he's going down the river. They don't need his testimony or his cooperation to convict him. They can convict him at any point in time after an indictment has been proffered. They know it. He knows it.

They offered him a chance to sing, and he's going to sing. He's already agreed and likely is (and has been) singing; otherwise the immunity deal wouldn't have been made. The FBI already knew what he was going to say -- he can't take all the blame now because if he tries the FBI will then indict him -- for perjury. That will then invalidate the immunity agreement, and he gets EXTRA time in prison.

He's singing. Who's next up on the food chain?

But then again I don't know what the law says in that regard (regarding the administrator).

Hillary almost certainly broke the law. The consequences could be important.

Prosecutors believe Moscow nanny was encouraged to decapitate 4-year-old girl
[UPI] Prosectors in Russia believe a nanny accused of decapitating a 4-year-old girl was encouraged to kill the child by instigators still on the lam.

Gyulchekhra Bobokulova, 38, a mother of three from Uzbekistan, was locked away
Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un!
on Monday after she was caught on video apparently carrying the severed head of Nastya, a 4-year-old girl who was in her care. Officials said she suffers from mental health problems.

In court Tuesday, she said "Allah ordered" her to kill the girl.

When asked if she accepted her guilt, Bobokulova replied, "yes."

Police Sherlocks told Moscow's Presnensky district court they have not found anyone else involved in the case, but said they believed Bobokulova was "incited" to commit the alleged crimes by instigators yet to be detained.

"Suspected accomplices, specifically the instigators, are currently on the lam," an investigator told the court. Bobokulova was held without bail and will remain in jug until at least April 29.

Nastya was under Bobokulova's care for 18 months. No motive has been established, but Russian media quoted police sources as saying Bobokulova allegedly mentally deteriorated after she discovered her partner had a second family.

In recent days, Moscow residents have laid flowers and children's toys outside the Oktyabrskoye Polye metro station where Bobokulova was arrested and outside of the child's home.

A first wave of arrivals reached the town at the break of dawn, their vehicles loaded with personal belongings and, in many cases, children, after authorities partially lifted a 24-hour curfew that had been imposed to facilitate security operations against Kurdish Death Eaters.

Police carefully inspected their documents as well as the contents of their cars and bags as they trickled into the town near the banks of the Tigris river.

The level of damage in some neighborhoods evoked the early days of military conflict in neighboring Syria with buildings gutted by shelling or partially collapsed. Shell casings littered the streets of the Sur neighborhood where residents made a grisly discovery - the corpse of an unidentifiable male.

said on Wednesday that EU states should not leave Greece alone to deal with an influx of migrants colonists and refugees, but also urged Athens to do its part by protecting its border effectively.

"Greece should not be left alone in the situation in which it finds itself," Steffen Seibert told a regular government news conference.

"At the same time, Greece must ... protect its borders effectively and also push ahead with the construction of functioning hotspots and sufficient accommodation capacities," he added.

Elsewhere, Macedonia intermittently opened its border with Greece to a tiny trickle of Syrian and Iraqi refugees Wednesday, leaving about 10,000 more people camped on the Greek side, with more arriving daily.

The border bottleneck has left at least 25,000 people stranded in Greece, the first European country that migrants colonists reach in smuggling boats from The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

. As the prosperous but divided continent flails in search of a workable solution, individual countries led by Austria have imposed immigration caps that have caused a domino effect down the Balkan immigration corridor, which has been traversed by a million people over the past year.

Greek police say Macedonian police opened the Idomeni crossing at midnight Tuesday and 7 a.m. on Wednesday, each time for two hours. They admitted a total of 170 people from Syria and Iraq -- the only nationalities allowed to continue north.

Mumtaz Qadri was hanged early on Monday morning after his clemency appeal was rejected by President Mamnoon Hussain.

Mr Kazmi, who arrived in the city to attend the funeral prayers, said Mumtaz Qadri killed the former governor out of his love for the holy prophet (peace be upon him). He said the huge gathering at the funeral was enough to prove that people considered Mumtaz Qadri as a martyr.

Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee chairman Mufti Muneebur Rehman added: "The presence of such a large number of people in the funeral is a referendum against the government. The government killed Mumtaz Qadri and people rejected the government’s act. I have never seen such a big gathering in any political or religious function," he said.

Police and the capital administration remained on their toes throughout the day on Tuesday to ensure that the funeral procession of Mumtaz Qadri passed Islamabad to Athaal village in Bhara Kahu without any hindrance. All arrangements were put in place to meet any untoward incident.

The State Council meetings were a coup on the revolution, they said. They added they knew where the meetings were talking place and that they were ready to make “crucial decisions” to deal with the challenge.

The threat follows a meeting of 53 Congress members who are also members for the State Council. At the meeting, they said that they were 100-percent behind the Libyan Political agreement (LPA) and which now had to be be implemented.

In a statement read out by Hay Al-Andalus congressman and member of the present state council member, Abdulrahaman Al-Shater, and broadcast by the LPC Panorama satellite channel, members said they were determined to end the nationwide crisis and support the government of national accord led by Faiez Serraj. They also said that it had to operate from Tripoli.

Shater also called on the international community to continue its backing on Libyan unity.

Things are not always as exciting as they first appear, according to this update from An Nahar:
The ship that was seized Sunday by Greek authorities was not carrying weapons or explosives and was not headed for Leb, a media report said on Wednesday.

"During interrogation, the two men revealed that the ship has been leased to a Turkish firm and that it was only carrying hunting rifles and related ammunition," VDL added, without saying where the two men were interrogated.

Arabia
Coalition forces make progress near Sana’a
Soddy backed forces in Yemen have made fresh progress to the east of the capital Sana’a after engaging in confrontation against militias of the ousted president and Houthis in Naham directorate.

A source said this advancement is coming in conjunction with arrival of new military equipment.

Major General Mohsen Khser of the Yemeni army told the Arabic newspaper Al Bayan that the decision to liberate Sana’a has been taken and there is no retreat in it. The legitimate forces are advancing towards the directorate of Al Baka’a in Sa’adah governorate.

He said Yemeni military forces in Naham had reached regions of Al Dabouah and Bait Qatran and added that and they are only a few kilometres from Al Sama military base in Arhab directorate.

He added that coup troops have suffered tremendous casualties as a result of air raids of the Arab coalition which targeted their sites in Sana'a and Ta’aiz, Sa’adah and Jawf.

It is believed that military experts from Iran and Hezbollah were killed in coalition raids on militia sites and positions in Sa’adah in the past few days.

Brigadier Ahmed Asiri stressed the Arab coalition forces do not differentiate between forces of ousted President Ali Saleh and Al Qaida and Houthi militias.

Sahiwal man shoots two sisters dead in 'honour killing'
[DAWN] Police in Sahiwal are tracing a man who rubbed out both his sisters in an apparent "honour killing".

Mohammad Asif had previously murdered his mother four or five years ago, according to police, before being pardoned at the time by his family and set free.

The latest killings occurred in the village of Noorshah in Sahiwal district, in the central province of Punjab.

"Mohammad Asif, who is in his late twenties, shot his two sisters late last night because he doubted their characters and was against their lifestyle," local police official Allah Ditta Bhatti told AFP.

He said the sisters was struck down in his prime while Asif fled.

"He had killed his mother around four or five years ago and was set free after his family pardoned him," Bhatti said.

The incident was confirmed by other officials at the local cop shoppe.

On Monday a father in Lahore rubbed out his 18-year-old daughter because she could not account for where she had been for about five hours.

ISIS declares fatwa against Warhammer: Age of Sigmar
ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has threatened a terrible vengeance after his 10,000 point Tomb King army was rendered obsolete by new Warhammer rules.

Al-Baghdadi announced that the Great Satan America and its lapdog Games Workshop had fallen to a new low, after learning he’s wasted the last six months painting a whole shitload of skeletons.

The specially designated global terrorist claimed the Tombs Kings matched his playing style perfectly, as he’s used to leading an army of mindless zombies motivated by nothing but hate, rage and the need for power.

His followers cheered as he spoke yesterday of ISIS overrunning the lands of The Empire and Albion and crushing their enemies underfoot before toppling the towers of Araby, but started to sound a bit less certain when he went on to speak of a great invasion of Naggaroth and Ulthuan.

“In the name of Allah, the Just, the Merciful, we shall hunt down the infidel dogs who not only came up with the word ‘Urroks’ but also charged me over forty quid for a Liche High Priest I can’t even play,” he said petulantly.

“We shall overrun their lands, their shops and their shipping warehouse and they shall reintroduce 5th edition because that was best.”

The terror organisation is accused of wooing impressionable teenagers by telling them they can still play Chaos Demons and have a 1,000 point advantage when the Caliphate rules the world.

Europe
Islamic State looking for nuclear materials in Belgium, report
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS) terrorist group appears to have been looking for nuclear materials in Belgium to build radioactive ‘dirty bomb’, the Center for Public Integrity, a nonprofit, nonpartisan investigative news organization in Washington reports.

A small video camera stashed in a row of bushes silently recorded the comings and goings of the family of a Brussels-area man with an important scientific pedigree last year, producing a detailed chronology of the family’s movements. At one point, two men came under cover of darkness to retrieve the camera, before driving away with their headlamps off, a separate surveillance camera in the area revealed later.

The Belgian police discovered the secret film on Nov. 30 while searching the Auvelais home of a man with ties to the Islamic State terror group. But they became far more alarmed when they figured out that its star was a senior researcher at a Belgian nuclear center that produces a significant portion of the world’s supply of radioisotopes.

That realization quickly got the attention of the world’s counterterrorism experts.

A diagnostic tool used by hospitals and factories around the globe, radioisotopes are also capable of causing radiation poisoning and sickness, making them a potential target for Lions of Islam seeking to build a so-called "dirty" bomb that could contaminate the downtown area of a major city, sowing panic and causing billions of dollars in financial losses.

Belgian authorities have since speculated that the group was trying to figure out a way to collect such materials from the nuclear center, perhaps by kidnapping the man or one of his family members as the first step in building a bomb.

India-Pakistan
Indian allegations
[DAWN] IS Indian Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar veering off script or reading from notes that his government has given him?

The question put to Mr Parrikar in parliament by a Shiv Sena
A Hindoo nationalist political movement that presents a resistance using the same nasty tactics to aggressive Islamists and that's a pain in the underwear to other Indian political parties...
member of the upper house, Sanjay Raut, was clearly meant to bait the government into giving a hard-hitting response.

A sensible response by Mr Parrikar would have been to state that investigations were ongoing. A more expansive response to Mr Raut’s question would have had the Indian defence minister acknowledging the role of non-state actors in the attack on the Pathankot air force base, but avoiding speculation about the link to the Pak state.

Instead, Mr Parrikar, who has earned a reputation for bellicose remarks off the cuff, went so far as to link all non-state actors, ie bandidos bully boyz and terrorists, on Pak soil to the Pak state. "Any non-state actors there, they cannot function smoothly without full state support," Mr Parrikar told the Rajya Sabha.

The Indian defence minister’s loose remarks underscore the challenges that bilateral dialogue has to contend with: when dialogue is stalled, hawkish elements in both countries can and do casually undermine the environment for talks and make it that much more difficult to resume them.

Pakistain clearly has a non-state actor problem -- bandidos bully boyz and turbans still operate with impunity on Pak soil in unacceptably large numbers. The Pathankot attack may well have originated from Pak soil.

But from the very moment of the attack, the state here -- both the political and military sides of it -- has tried to respond to India’s concerns, vowed to investigate the attack, shared information with India and the public in both countries, and appears committed to bringing the architects of the Pathankot attack to justice.

Nothing the Pak state has done since Pathankot suggests the group to which the attackers apparently belonged has been allowed to operate smoothly. If anything, there has been an unprecedented crackdown on an anti-India group operating inside Pakistain.

Mr Parrikar and his fellow hawks in government must surely be aware of the steps Pakistain has taken, even if they remain suspicious of Pakistain.

Are the hawks then trying to convince their own government to reverse itself on its decision to resume dialogue with Pakistain? Or is Prime Minister Modi using his cabinet to put pressure on Pakistain without directly implicating himself?

The history of the Pakistain-India relationship is replete with examples of politicians on both sides saying one thing and meaning another.

Perhaps what is important for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif
... served two non-consecutive terms as prime minister, heads the Pakistain Moslem League (Nawaz). Noted for his spectacular corruption, the 1998 Pak nuclear test, border war with India, and for being tossed by General Musharraf...
’s government, and the military establishment in Pakistain is to recognise that a drawn-out investigation into Pathankot is not in the interests of bilateral dialogue.

Foreign Affairs Adviser Sartaj PrunefaceAziz
...Adviser to Pak Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on National Security and Foreign Affairs, who believes in good jihadis and bad jihadis as a matter of national policy...
has yet again suggested that a Pak investigation team is set to visit India soon. Perhaps the two governments are close to setting a date for the foreign secretaries to meet too.

Aziz admits Pakistan housing Afghan Taliban leaders
[DAWN] For years, Pakistain has denied that the Afghan Taliban enjoys a safe haven on its soil or that Islamabad could do anything to end their violent campaign in Afghanistan that has seen tens of thousands of Afghan civilians and international troops killed since 2002.

But in an unusually candid admission, Sartaj PrunefaceAziz
...Adviser to Pak Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on National Security and Foreign Affairs, who believes in good jihadis and bad jihadis as a matter of national policy...
, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, says that Islamabad has considerable influence over the Taliban because its leaders live in the country.

"We have some influence over them because their leadership is in Pakistain and they get some medical facilities. Their families are here," he said. "We can use those levers to pressurize them to say, 'Come to the table'. But we can't negotiate on behalf of the Afghan government because we cannot offer them what the Afghan government can offer them."

Aziz made the comments at Washington's Council on Foreign Relations think tank on March 1. He added that Islamabad pressured Afghan Taliban leaders to participate in the first-ever direct talks with the Afghan government on July 7, 2015.

"We have to use these levers and [have] restricted their movements, restricted their access to hospitals and other facilities, and threatened them that 'If you don't come forward and talk, we will at least expel you'," he said of the tough message Islamabad sent to Taliban leaders, most of whom are believed to be operating out of Quetta, the capital of southwestern Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
Province.

"[We told the Taliban leaders that] we have hosted [them] enough for 35 years, and we can't do it anymore because the whole world is blaming us just by [their] presence here," he said.

Pakistain, Afghanistan, the United States, and China last week agreed on a road map to end the Afghan war through negotiations between Kabul
...the capital of Afghanistan. Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the World and didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either....
and the Taliban.

Taliban representatives are expected to join Afghan officials in the first round of peace talks in Pakistain during the next few weeks.

Aziz, however, took pains to convince Washington's audience that Islamabad has abandoned its support for the Islamist holy warrior groups.

"After our government came into power in 2013, there has been a significant change in our policy. We are now moving against all murderous Moslems without discrimination," he said.

Speaking alongside US State Secretary John F. I was in Vietnam, you know Kerry
Former Senator-for-Life from Massachussetts, self-defined war hero, speaker of French, owner of a lucky hat, conqueror of Cambodia, and current Secretary of State...
on February 29, Aziz said Pakistain now has little interest in fomenting violence in neighboring Afghanistan.

"Who would like to set one's own neighbor on fire with the hope of saving one's backyard?" he asked.

Arabia
Gulf nations declare Lebanon’s Hezbollah terrorist organization
[TODAYSZAMAN] A Saudi-led bloc of six Gulf Arab nations formally branded Hezbollah a terrorist organization on Wednesday, ramping up the pressure on the Lebanese krazed killer group fighting on the side of Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Horror of Homs...
in Syria.

The move by the Gulf Cooperation Council comes less than two weeks after Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
announced it was cutting $4 billion in aid to Lebanese security forces. The kingdom and other Gulf states followed up that move by urging its citizens to leave Leb, dealing a blow to the tiny nation's tourism industry.

A statement from GCC Secretary-General Abdullatif al-Zayani said the bloc decided to implement the terrorist designation because of hostile acts by Hezbollah within its member states. It said the designation applies to the krazed killer group as well as all its leaders, factions and affiliates.

Al-Zayani accused Hezbollah of charges including seeking to recruit members within the GCC to carry out terrorist acts, smuggling weapons and explosives, and incitement to sow disorder and violence.

Those activities within GCC member states and in Syria, Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
and Iraq "are incompatible with the values and moral and humanitarian principles and international law, and pose a threat to Arab national security," he said.

The GCC includes Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates...
, Bahrain and Oman.

Leb's main political divide pits a Sunni-led coalition against another led by the Shiite Hezbollah movement, which includes both political and military wings. The Mediterranean country has weathered a string of krazed killer attacks in recent years linked to the war in neighboring Syria.

Demirtas: Erdogan staged coup against Parliament, ruling party
[TODAYSZAMAN] Pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Co-chair Selahattin Demirtas has said that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him...
joined ranks with potential coup supporters and carried out a coup against the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) government and Parliament in order to prevent anyone from toppling him from power.

"We are living through a coup period right now. We have already had a coup; it's happened. It was after July 7. And now, we have a coup government leading The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
," Demirtas said during an exclusive interview with Haberdar online news portal that was made available on Tuesday and Wednesday.

"There could have been a coup against Erdogan; instead, what he did was to join forces with coup supporters and carry out his own coup against the government. All of which is why the government has been completely bypassed at this stage. Not even a police officer will listen to [Prime Minister Ahmet] Davutoglu," he said.

Since the June 7 general election of last year, in which the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party), Erdogan's former party, failed to win enough seats to rule as a single party, Turkey has been hit with violence due to festivities between the Turkish security forces and the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) following the end of a settlement process between the government and the PKK last July.

Demirtas said that when Erdogan restarted the war with the PKK, he knew that the government was not in control of all the instruments of the state and that it controlled neither the police, the military nor the bureaucracy.

"When the war that he himself had provoked broke out, Erdogan saw that the government actually couldn't fight against the PKK effectively. ... I think Erdogan needed to make a choice. He saw that he was going to lose. ... The war that he provoked after June 7 caused a level of social outrage he hadn't predicted as we headed toward the Nov. 1 [2015 snap election]. He had to make a choice. In order to get the state institutions that weren't tied to him, like the military and the police, to fight for him, he had to strike compromises with them. This is why he had private meetings with the Ergenekon people, the supporters of [ultra-nationalist Workers' Party (IP) leader Dogu] Perincek, the former BBP [Grand Unity Party] people and so on," Demirtas said.

Oil Prices Fall before US Energy Report
[ALMANAR.LB] Oil prices fell Wednesday as traders awaited the release of US crude inventory data, which are expected to show a further rise in stockpiles.

At around 1100 GMT, the US benchmark West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for delivery in April slid 74 cents to stand at $33.66 a barrel.

In London, Brent North Sea crude for May shed 36 cents to $36.45 a barrel compared with Monday's close.

Crude futures had risen Tuesday on fresh Russian calls for a production freeze to reduce the global supply glut.

"US crude oil inventories increasing is almost becoming a norm. Inventories are already at a historic high" and markets are taking a nonchalant stance towards a continued inch upwards, said Daniel Ang, analyst at Phillip Futures in Singapore.

"US production, on the other hand, is slightly more interesting as it is finally starting to show corrections. We highly expect to see US oil production drop a lot more now that prices are in the $30 region, which could result in the easing of global oil supply," he added in a note.

A Bloomberg News survey ahead of Wednesday's Energy Information Administration (EIA) report showed that US crude stockpiles probably increased 3.4 million barrels from an 86-year high last week.

in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) positions in Syria since the start of a cease-fire last weekend, the Turkish Foreign Ministry front man said on Wednesday, rejecting Russian claims of transporting weapons-loaded trucks into Syria.

Foreign Ministry front man Tanju Bilgic said at a briefing with news hounds in Ankara that Russian claims of weapons being sent to Syria hidden in aid convoys from Turkey are not to be taken seriously and were designed to cover Russian war crimes.

He also said Russian and the government forces have been carrying out bombardments since the truce began.

Moscow's Defense Ministry has said that four journalists were lightly injured along the Syria-Turkey border as a result of heavy artillery fire on Tuesday, Russian news agency RIA Novosti reported on Wednesday.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported that journalists from China, Canada, Bulgaria and Russia were maimed in the village of Kinsibba, which was being shelled from the town of Bidama and elsewhere along Syria's border with Turkey. forces.

The ministry described the conditions of the maimed journalists as fair, according to the news agency. Shortly before, Syria's state news agency said several members of a group of foreign journalists were maimed by mortars fired from the Turkish side of the border and that the area targeted had recently been seized from rebel forces.

Turkey has been shelling the north of Syria near Azaz for the last few weeks, targeting the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) and its armed wing, the People's Protection Units (YPG), saying that it is a national security measure and Ankara will not let the terrorist PYD, which is an affiliate of the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) cross the west of Euphrates River.

Russian Foreign Ministry front man Mikhail Bogdanov said Russia will raise recent Turkish shelling of Kurdish positions in Geneva during a meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura.

Key ISIS commander in U.S. custody in Iraq
[CBSNEWS] A new U.S. special operations team has been questioning a key Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
of Iraq (ISIS) and Syria leader in Iraq since seizing him in a raid last month, U.S. officials said Wednesday. It is believed to be the first case of a top ISIS Lion of Islam captured alive in that country.
Oh, I do hope they read him his Miranda rights.
The officials would not identify the Lion of Islam by name or provide other details, but the raid appears to be the first major success by the Pentagon's new expeditionary targeting force that recently began operating in Iraq. It aims to disrupt ISIS operations in Iraq and Syria and gather intelligence that can be used to conduct follow-on raids and strikes.

The Lion of Islam has been held in Iraq for two to three weeks, the officials said, calling the development important because of his leadership position in the holy warrior group and the information they could glean from him.

The officials weren't authorized to speak publicly about the raid and demanded anonymity. The New York Times
...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...
, also citing anonymous officials, was first to report the capture and said the Lion of Islam was being interrogated by American officials at a temporary detention facility in Irbil in northern Iraq.

Pentagon press secretary Peter Cook wouldn't confirm the capture, but said the goals of the new expeditionary targeting force include capturing ISIS leaders. "Any detention would be short-term and coordinated with Iraqi authorities," he said.

Defense Secretary Ash Carter has spoken about the team several times over the past few months but has emphasized his intention to keep a lid on details of its actual operations in Iraq and Syria. He told Congress in early December about the team's planned deployment, saying they would be there to conduct raids, free hostages, gather intelligence and capture ISIS leaders.

Using an alternative acronym for the ISIS, Carter said Monday the force would be part of accelerated military operations and used "to conduct raids of various kinds, seizing places and people, freeing hostages and prisoners of ISIL, and making it such that ISIL has to fear that anywhere, anytime, it may be struck."

He said the targeting force was "in position" and "having an effect and operating."

Col. Patrick Ryder, front man for U.S. Central Command, which is responsible for American military operations in the Middle East, declined to comment on the capture or detention of the Lion of Islam.
The Times of Israel adds:
The Times said the 200-member special operations team is made up of many Delta Force commandos.
