Hillary Paid Herself $250,000 From Campaign Funds
HT Insty
The campaign of Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton has made payments totaling six figures to Clinton this election cycle, according to a review of its expenditures.
Nice work if you're "dead broke"
Federal campaign finance records reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon found that starting in April 2015, the month that Clinton launched her campaign, thousands in payments began flowing to the candidate. Clinton has previously claimed that she and Bill Clinton were "dead broke" when he left the White House, but the two have since amassed millions of dollars in wealth.
Grifters
The first transaction from Hillary for America to Hillary Rodham Clinton came on April 13, 2015 in the amount of $74,042. This transaction was filed under ‘Payroll & Benefits' with a separate payment of $1,488 for ‘Employee Benefits' that same day, according to FEC filings. On April 14, just one day later, $744 went to Clinton marked as employee benefits.

The next in a series of payments to Clinton did not occur until later in the year.

In November 2015, when transactions resumed to Clinton, she pulled in a total of $32,811 from two separate payments. In December, another $56,514 was made to her name. In January 2016, $88,878 more was given. All told, payroll and benefits transactions to Clinton have totaled $254,447 since the launch of her campaign.

Moreover, some of these payments were shown to overlap with money given to Clinton Executive Services Corp., the private company set up by Hillary that oversaw the use of her private email server during her tenure as secretary of state.

For example, on December 12, 2015, $42,032 was given to Clinton, but this sum was transmitted to the corporation, according to a memo. A total of $98,588 in payroll payments to Clinton did not overlap with the corporation. These payments were made on April 14, 2015 and January 29, 2016.

No other candidate running for president recorded payments to themselves, FEC files show. Donald Trump reimbursed $410,000 to himself and other Trump entities for payroll expenses, rent, hotel, and restaurant bills in December, according to reports.

Diplomacy fail: State staffed Syria hotline with non-Arabic speakers
[WashingtonExaminer] The State Department admitted Wednesday that it used department volunteers with limited Arabic language abilities to staff a hotline it set up to take calls about ongoing violence in Syria.

That move led to confusion this week as people who speak Arabic, which is Syria's official language, tried to call with information about violations of the Syria cease-fire, only to get hung up by volunteers who didn't have a perfect understanding of the language."

Amish separatists suspected in massive Houston gun store robbery
[ABC] HOUSTON (WPVI) -- A smash-and-grab crew of thieves emptied display cases and a wall of rifles Tuesday morning at a guns and ammunition store in Southwest Houston, Texas. Now the ATF says some of the suspects have been identified and arrested.

Houston police say as many as 10 suspects raided the store and got away with at least 50 weapons. The amount of weapons is not counting those they dropped in their haste to get out before police arrived.

Jeff McShan, a spokesman with the Harris County District Attorney's Office and Crime Stoppers, says three of the suspects have been arrested. ATF sources confirm they have good leads and they're following up on them.

A spokesperson with the ATF says some of the stolen weapons have also been recovered, but did not provide an exact number.

Spain seizes 20,000 military uniforms bound for jihadi fighters
[Guardian] Spain's interior ministry has announced the seizure of 20,000 military uniforms being sent to fighters from Islamic State and the Nusra Front.

The ministry said that police conducted a counter-terrorism operation last month in the port cities of Valencia and Algeciras, where officers opened three shipping containers. Authorities found the uniforms and other military accessories.

A ministry statement released on Thursday said that police arrested seven people on suspicion of providing logistical and financial support to Isis and the Nusra Front.

The police operation "neutralised a very active and efficient business network whose primary purpose was to supply, maintain and strengthen [Isis]", according to the statement.

"The containers which carried the military uniforms were declared as secondhand clothes so as to not raise suspicions and be able to pass different customs inspections without any difficulty," the police statement said.

"With the roughly 20,000 military uniforms and accessories, it would have been possible to equip an entire army, which would be ready to enter into combat in any of the battlegrounds which jihadist terrorist organisations have round the world," it added.

Government
Chief Justice Roberts votes with the regime... again.
[The Hill] Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts rejected a plea Thursday to block a contentious air pollution rule for power plants in a big victory for the Obama administration.

Roberts’s order came despite his court’s 5-4 decision last year ruling that the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) regulation, known as the Mercury and Air Toxics Standards, is illegal.

Michigan led a group of 20 states last month -- empowered by the Supreme Court’s recent unprecedented decision to halt the EPA’s carbon dioxide rule for power plants -- in asking the court to live up to its ruling last year and block the regulation’s enforcement.

"Unless this court stays or enjoins further operation of the Mercury and Air Toxics rule, this court’s recent decision in Michigan v. EPA will be thwarted," the states wrote in a Feb. 23 filing with the court.

"A stay or injunction is appropriate because this court has already held that the finding on which the rule rests in unlawful and beyond EPA’s statutory authority."

The EPA responded that no judicial stay is necessary since it’s working to fix the problem the court identified by next month, and the states would not suffer irreparable harm in that time.

"The requested stay would harm the public interest by undermining reliance interests and the public health and environmental benefits associated with the rule," the government said. "The application lacks merit and should be denied."

Roberts acted swiftly, waiting less than a day after the EPA’s response brief to side with the Obama administration. He acted unilaterally, electing to reject the request himself rather than take it to the full court, which may have led to a 4-4 split following Justice Antonin Scalia’s death.

The mercury pollution standards, made final in 2012, are a separate regulation from the more controversial and costly carbon dioxide limits for power plants that are also being litigated in court.

The Supreme Court put an unprecedented halt to the carbon rule, known as the Clean Power Plan, last month by a 5-4 vote, when Roberts chose to let the full court vote on the matter. Thursday’s action by Roberts is completely separate from that case.

EPA spokeswoman Melissa Harrison said on Thursday the agency is "very pleased" with Roberts’s order.

#7  Temporary 'victory' until the current study is completed in April. The 'victory' for the EPA in means 45 days won't matter one way or the other - we ought to let the process play out.

link

The U.S. Supreme Court denied a request Thursday to block the EPA’s mercury-emissions rule while legal challenges proceed, handing a temporary victory to the the Obama administration and environmental groups.

Roberts’ refusal to grant a stay will allow the Obama administration to rein in toxic emissions while the EPA tabulates the rule’s cost. The agency’s review is expected to be finished in April.

The Strange Case Of The Campus Cry-Bully
h/t Instapundit
The oxymoron "Cry-bully" has become a popular way to describe the schizophrenic contemporary college student.

Today’s students, especially on elite campuses, pride themselves for being cultural warriors. They are determined to make their college experiences referenda on the alleged race, class, and gender inequities of American society more broadly. In pursuit of that noble end, they feel they are entitled to use almost any means necessary to raise social awareness about perceived injustice.

...Deliver a college lecture that includes the Israeli perspective on Middle-East tensions, question the Ferguson "hands up, don’t shoot" mythic narrative, or entertain views contrary to the idea of apocalyptic man-made global warming, and one is likely to be labeled by campus activists as a colonialist, racist, or enemy of the environment deserving to be silenced for the greater good. The end of civil liberties on campus is coming about not suddenly with an authoritarian bang, but insidiously with an egalitarian whimper.

Though campus warriors appear to be hardened would-be revolutionaries, they are more accurately defined by their faint hearts. At Brown University, students claimed that they were traumatized by the inability to square the circle of being full-time social activists and full-time students, and therefore became depressed and stressed out--driving them to counseling and anti-depressants. According to one student, "There are people breaking down, dropping out of classes and failing classes because of the activism work they are taking on." Throughout the year, this student has worked to confront issues of racism and diversity on campus. His role as a student activist has taken a toll on his mental, physical and emotional health: "My grades dropped dramatically. My health completely changed. I lost weight. I’m on antidepressants and anti-anxiety pills right now. Counseling and Psychological Services counselors called me. I had deans calling me to make sure I was okay."

...Are today’s students, then, brave reformers or fragile hothouse campus plants? Do they want to wade into freewheeling debate and battle all ideological comers, or do they insist on being protected by surrogate faculty parents, who must provide them the same cozy emotional embryos that they enjoyed in junior high school?

...To make matters worse, college students are not even receiving a high quality education. Courses that enrich liberal education and lead to mastery of written and spoken English are often squeezed out by therapeutic "studies" courses--Gender Studies, Asian Studies, Africana Studies, Chicano-Latino Studies, Environmental Studies, Community Studies, Cultural Studies, Leisure Studies, Media Studies, and on and on. The latter courses often require less work, result in easier grades, grant psychological rewards for ideological uniformity, and provide little in terms of a classical education. For such a revolutionary cadre of students, eager to battle America’s inequities, students have almost no interest in demanding a quality education at a reasonable price.
And what happens to scientific education is has to be seen to be believed.

‘Potential Criminal Charges’ Could Be On The Way To Hillary, Aides
BLUF: [Daily Caller] Brigadier General Kenneth Bergquist, a former high-ranking intelligence and special operations official who is now a practicing attorney, told The Daily Caller News Foundation that Clinton and some of her aides face the prospect of multiple federal charges, including "knowingly" concealing operation of the private server from State Department security officials, as well as a public corruption charge of "honest services fraud."

Honest services fraud is generally easier to prove because the charge includes unethical conduct by public officials, Bergquist said. Bergquist was appointed as the first president of the Joint Special Operations University by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in 2001 after a career in intelligence and counter-terrorism.

Arabia
Tehran Sent Hezbollah Instructors to Drill Houthi Insurgents
Teaching the fine art of shoulder to shoulder advances into enemy machine gun fire, I s'pect...
And doing so with teen-aged boys...
Jeddah- Yemen is no different than other Arab countries, as for four years Yemen has experienced Iranian intervention in form of funds and artillery. Tehran has hinged on proxies throughout the region to put on a center role in the Yemeni insurgency, in which Iranian proxies direct militant boot camps, missile and explosive manufacture.

Hezbollah has been Tehran’s top choice for the accomplishment of its agenda since 2011. At the time, the Arab region wholly underwent a critical stage of embattlement and intrusion, which facilitated Hezbollah’s access to the Somali Peninsula and later to the center of Sana’a. Proxies left unmonitored mobilized easily, given that during that period they were not classified as terrorist organizations.

Agents departed from Dahieh, predominant Shi’ite suburb south of Beirut, Lebanon. Before launching the mission, Hezbollah leadership presented all what they have received from Tehran to a carefully selected set of proxies from the Houthi militia known by “Ansar Allah”. Houthis benefited from Iranian donations and provided a suitable foundation to extract trained militants capable of manufacturing explosives and exploiting weaponry. The setup all was precedent to the official declaration of the Houthi insurgency in 2015.

Houthis dominating vast landscape, assets and cities especially in Tihamah gave Hezbollah a main route access to the Red Sea. Hezbollah planned to impose a novel reality for the Middle East.

Houthis having control over coastal areas gave access to several Hezbollah units which later dispatched for directorates and capital outlying towns where they directed training centers for militants.

It wasn’t until 2015 that, according to military sources, Hezbollah’s extent of involvement was clear. The latter has saved up no effort on providing the insurgents with all of financial support, logistics, military training and means for synthesizing explosives to the point of specialized independency.

Military experts all agreed that militias displaying up-to-date military techniques could not have appeared out of thin air. With acquired documentation, it is no longer a far-off assumption that side-by-side ousted President Ali Abdallah Saleh supporters and Houthi militias have been recruited firsthand by Hezbollah agents who were wired to Iranian conduct.

North Korea leader tells military to be ready to use nuclear weapons at any time
[REUTERS] North Korean leader Kim Pudge Jong-un
...the overweight, pouty-looking hereditary potentate of North Korea. Pudge appears to believe in his own divinity, but has yet to produce any loaves and fishes, so his subjects remain malnourished...
ordered his country to be ready to use its nuclear weapons at any time and to turn its military posture to "pre-emptive attack" mode in the face of growing threats from its enemies, state media said on Friday.
One of these days this cackler is gonna give the order because he believes his own propaganda. We really should preemptively turn the place into a scene of fire.
Better to make a deal with China, the ROK, Russia and Japan to divide Nork-land into a province of China (the north part) and a trust territory of the U.N. administered by the ROK (the southern part). The U.S. provides some aid and stays out of the north, China provides some aid and stays out of the south, and Russia behaves (for once). Pudgy and all his evil henchmen, of course, are shot on site.
...and on sight, too.
The comments, carried by the North's official KCNA news agency, marked a further escalation of tension on the Korean peninsula after the U.N. Security Council on Wednesday imposed harsh new sanctions against the isolated state for its nuclear program.

Kim made the comments as he supervised military exercises involving newly developed rocket launchers, KCNA reported. It did not mention the date of the drills but said the new weapons had South Korea within range.

South Korea's defense ministry said on Thursday North Korea launched several projectiles off its coast into the sea up to 150 kilometers (90 miles) away, an apparent response to the U.N. sanctions.

Kim said North Korea should "bolster up (its) nuclear force both in quality and quantity" and stressed "the need to get the nuclear warheads deployed for national defense always on standby so as to be fired any moment," KCNA quoted him as saying.

"Now is the time for us to convert our mode of military counteraction toward the enemies into an preemptive attack one in every aspect."

And despite any risk that Pudgy = KJU may do something to unilaterally or asymetrically start a major US-China war to prevent NOKOR from being taken over or annexed by China, SOKOR will broadly or subjectively support Pudgy in his effort to force NOKOR-SOKOR reunification as this may be the only or last chance for de facto Inter-Korean reunification before NOKOR is forever lost to China.

* Lest we fergit, VARIOUS NET > USFK CHIEF/COMMANDER: KIM JONG-UN MAY USE WMDS TO SAVE/PROTECT HIS REGIME [ + DPRK = North Korea].

Not unlike the US-USSR Cold war + Berlin Wall, SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE, + GIVE SOONER NOT LATER.

Only time will tell how US-SOKOR, ETAL. relations will be harmed, + the Balance of Power in North/NE Asia will be changed, iff NOKOR is lost to de facto Chinese takeover or annexation.

Olde Tyme Religion
Indiana: City council passes Islamic sharia blasphemy resolution
MICHIGAN CITY -- Two councilmen stood in the way of a much-talked-about resolution receiving the full support of the Michigan City Common Council on Tuesday.

A resolution titled "Condemning Violence, Bigotry and Hateful Rhetoric Toward Muslims in the United States," passed 7-2 with councilmen Chris Schwanke and Ron Hamilton voting against it. Both said they object to the resolution because it should protect the rights of all people, regardless of their religious beliefs. "I have no problem supporting a resolution covering all religions," Hamilton said before he voted against the one on the table.

Schwanke made similar remarks before also casting his "nay" vote.

The seven other council members spoke in support of this resolution, with Councilman Al Whitlow expressing concern that a resolution condemning hate and bigotry has garnered so much discussion.

"We’re not trying to eliminate hate, although that would be wonderful," he said. "We are saying the expression of hate through violent acts is inappropriate in this country."

There are already laws against violence, so this is redundant and was pushed by Muslim supremacists to silence critics of Islam.

Councilman Don Przybylinski said, "Michigan City is a progressive, proactive community and a progressive and proactive community always supports its citizens ... In our hearts, we need to stand up for the citizens of the United States, the citizens of Michigan City and human beings in general."
Michigan City is about an hour southeast of Chicago. From there to New Buffalo, a lot of the real estate around the lake is owned by upper-middle-class folk from Chicago who spend their weekends in the country. They bring their blue beliefs with them...
This resolution was introduced last month by Councilwoman Pat Boy, but was sent to a committee meeting because concerns were raised about the exclusivity of the resolution by just protecting the religious freedom of Muslims.

That committee, made up of council members Hamilton, Candice Silvas and Bryant Dabney, voted 2-1 to support the resolution as written -- with Hamilton voting against it.

Just before the vote on Tuesday, representatives spoke in favor of the resolution, urging the council to support it, including speakers from the Human Rights Commission, the Michigan City Commission for Women, Citizens Concerned for Syrian Refuges and the La Porte County NAACP."

Britain
London mayor reacts to French threats over 'Brexit': 'Donnez-moi un break'
[LATIMES] The migrant crisis became a critical bargaining chip in the debate over Britannia’s future membership of the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
on Thursday, with La Belle France warning that a "Brexit" could bring immigration chaos to its neighbor’s shores.

French President Francois Hollande
...the Socialist president of La Belle France, an economic bad joke for la Belle France but seemingly a foreign policy realist...
stated bluntly that there would be serious "consequences" for Britannia if the public votes in favor of leaving the 28-member bloc in a June referendum.

Earlier in the day, French economy minister Emmanuel Macron went even further by saying a vote to leave the EU could mean La Belle France no longer allows British border police to operate in the port city of Calais.

His comments stoked fears that this could potentially pave the way for thousands of migrants colonists to arrive unimpeded on British shores.

"The day this relationship unravels, migrants colonists will no longer be in Calais," Macron was quoted saying in the Financial Times newspaper.

Downing Street officials said they had no prior knowledge of Macron’s speech, but the statement fell on deaf ears to "exit" campaigners and the words "stitch up" and "scaremongering" were quickly banded around.

#1  A "Brexit" would cancel the EU treaty that forces Great Britain to obey edicts from Brussels that set up this stupid situation in the first place. Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the World and didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either....
during the recent operations, the National Directorate of Security
...the Afghan national intel agency...
(NDS) said.

A statement by NDS said the latest arrests were made a week after a group of 5 kidnappers were arrested in connection to the kidnapping case of a 14-year-old child.

The statement further added that the previously arrested suspects disclosed the identities of their colleagues who were arrested during an operation.

According to NDS, the newly arrested suspects have been identified as Haji Pervez, Haji Zemarai, Haji Asadullah, Toryalai, Kamil and Khalilluah.

This comes as the Afghan intelligence operatives rescued a hostage during an operation in central Midan Wardak province of Afghanistan last month.

The operation was conducted after the kidnappers demanded a ransom of $1 million for the freedom of the hostage.

Kidnap for ransom cases still continue in parts of the country despite the Afghan intelligence nabbed two MAFIA bosses involved in major kidnappings who were later executed by the government.

The two top MAFIA leaders, Habib Istalif and Raees Khudaidad, were executed late in 2014 and early in 2015 after they were arrested by intelligence operatives.

China-Japan-Koreas
Russia Urges N.Korea to Draw ’Right Conclusions’ from UN sanctions
[ALMANAR.LB] Russia expressed hope Thursday that North Korea would "draw the right conclusions" and resume talks after the United Nations
...an idea whose time has gone...
adopted the toughest sanctions to date on Pyongyang over its fourth nuclear test and rocket launch.

"We are hoping that the North Korean side will take this decision in an adequate manner, draw the right conclusions and return to the negotiating table to settle the nuclear problem on the Korean peninsula," the foreign ministry said.

The UN Security Council measures adopted on Wednesday were the product of seven weeks of arduous negotiations between Washington and Beijing, Pyongyang's sole ally and main provider of trade and aid.

Russia -- which enjoys friendly ties with the communist regime -- said the new resolution was "rather tough" but added world powers had no other choice.

"For the past 10 years North Korea has defiantly ignored Security Council demands," the foreign ministry said, adding that the global community could not accept "irresponsible 'games' with missile-borne nuclear weapons."

But Russia also expressed hope that the new resolution would not be interpreted as an excuse to worsen the plight of North Koreans, when it came to the economic and humanitarian situation in the country.

Moscow reiterated its warning to Washington not to deploy a missile defense system to South Korea that could "escalate tensions" in the region.

Hours after the United Nations adopted the sanctions North Korea fired six short-range projectiles into the sea in a new show of defiance.

The latest resolution ushered in the fifth set of UN sanctions on North Korea since it first tested an atomic device in 2006.

China-Japan-Koreas
N. Korea Fires Six Projectiles in Spite of UN Tough Sanctions
[ALMANAR.LB] North Korea fired six short-range projectiles into the sea Thursday in a show of defiance just hours after the United Nations
...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships...
adopted the toughest sanctions to date on Pyongyang over its fourth nuclear test and rocket launch.

Limited displays of military firepower have become a routine response by North Korea to international pressure over anything from its nuclear weapons program to its human rights
...not to be confused with individual rights, mind you...
record.

South Korea's defense ministry said the six projectiles - either rockets or guided missiles - fell into the sea around 100-150 kilometers (60-90 miles) off the North's eastern coast.

The launches came after the UN Security Council unanimously passed a resolution late Wednesday imposing new sanctions after seven weeks of arduous negotiations between the United States and China, Pyongyang's sole major ally.

The sanctions break new ground, requiring all countries to inspect cargo destined for and coming from North Korea, in all airports and sea ports.

They also ban or restrict exports of coal, iron and iron ore and other minerals from North Korea, and prohibit the supply of aviation fuel including rocket fuel.

Fresh tunnel dug from Pak to RS Pura to push fidayeens detected
[Daily Excelsior] Achie-ving a major success that has thwarted several fidayeen attacks and infiltration attempts by the holy warriors from the International Border (IB), the Border Security Force (BSF) today detected over 300 meters long tunnel dug by Pak Rangers and holy warriors from Pakistain to the Indian side at ‘Allah Mai De Kothe’ (AMK) post in RS Pura sector. The BSF has immediately lodged very strong protest with Pakistain over detection of tunnel right under the noose of Rangers with a view to facilitate infiltration attempts by the holy warriors to carry out terror attacks on the Indian side.

"It was a fresh tunnel. It had been dug about 20 to 25 meters inside the Indian territory behind the fencing when our jawans detected it. The tunnel, which originated from near Pakistain’s Afzal Post opposite India’s AMK Post in RS Pura, was in the process of completion when the BSF exposed their plan,’’ IG BSF, Jammu Frontiers, Rakesh Sharma told the Excelsior after visiting the spot and inspecting site of the tunnel.

He said it was not possible for the BSF to detect how long the tunnel had been dug on Pakistain side but definitely it would be around 200 to 300 meters as it seems to have its entry point near Pakistain’s Afzal Post, which was located about 300 meters from the Indian side.

Police officer lightly wounded in Jordan Valley stabbing attack
[Ynet] Cop directing traffic on Route 90 near Al-Auja stabbed in his shoulder by female attacker, who was arrested on the spot; police vehicle comes under fire near Rahelim Junction east of Ariel, none hurt but damage caused to car.

A police officer was lightly wounded in a stabbing attack near Al-Auja in the Jordan Valley on Thursday morning.

The officer was directing traffic because of a tree that fell down, blocking parts of Route 90 when he was stabbed in his shoulder.

The 14-year-old female attacker, a resident of Al-Auja, then fled but the wounded officer caught her after a short chase.

She was arrested on the spot and taken for questioning by the Shin Bet. She has so far refused to cooperate with security forces.

Earlier Thursday, a police vehicle came under fire near the Rahelim Junction, east of the settlement of Ariel in the Samaria region of the West Bank.

No one was hurt, but damage was caused to the vehicle.

Police and military forces were searching the area for the shooters.

On Wednesday evening, two attackers stabbed two soldiers in the Har Brakha area of the West Bank and were able to flee the scene. They are still at large as a manhunt is underway.

Also on Wednesday evening, Yaakov Siman, a farmer from moshav Talmei Bilu in the Negev, was lightly wounded in a stabbing.

It is still unclear whether the stabbing was criminally or nationalistically motivated, as the area is plagued with burglaries and it is possible the farmer came upon a robber in the act.

Siman said he saw the attacker, "a giant Arab," coming out of his cold room with a knife in his right hand and an electric saw in his left.

Siman said the man who attacked him called out "Allahu Akbar" before hitting him in the head with the saw and trying to stab him. Siman struggled with the attacker and was wounded in his hand. The attacker was then able to flee towards the moshav's greenhouses and then disappeared between the nearby trees.

Police and Border Police forces were working to find the suspect.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Syria conflict: Massive power blackout across country
[BBC] Syria has suffered a massive power blackout across the country due to "unknown reasons", state media said. Officials were cited as saying power had been cut in all provinces and teams were trying to determine the cause.

The electricity ministry said power was being restored and service would resume by midnight (22:00 GMT), TV reported.
In most parts of war-torn Syria, electricity is already available only two to four hours a day, if at all. However, nationwide blackouts are rare.

Meanwhile, the UN's special envoy said a partial truce that began on Saturday was holding but remained fragile.

Staffan de Mistura told reporters in Geneva that violence had been "greatly reduced", despite incidents in the provinces of Homs, Hama, Latakia and Damascus. "Success is not guaranteed but progress is visible," he added.

Both the opposition and the government have accused each other of violating the cessation of hostilities agreement brokered by the US and Russia, which does not include the jihadist groups Islamic State (IS) and al-Nusra Front.

Zimbob announces government to take over all Zimbabwe's diamond operations
[Telegraph] Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe said on Thursday his government would take possession of all diamond operations because existing miners had robbed the country of its wealth.

Mugabe's comments came a week after the ministry of mines ordered all mining companies to halt work and leave the Marange fields, saying they had not renewed their licences. At the time it denied it was seizing the mines.

"The state will now own all the diamonds in the country," Mugabe said during a two-hour interview with state broadcaster ZBC TV.

"Companies that have been mining diamonds have robbed us of our wealth, that is why we have now said the state must have a monopoly," Mugabe said.

Iraq
Islamic State 'earning millions by playing the stock market'
[Telegraph] Isil is making millions of dollars for its war chest by playing foreign currency markets under the noses of bank chiefs, it was revealed today.

The terror group is earning up to $20m (ÂŁ14.29m) a month by funnelling dollars looted from banks during its takeover of the Iraqi city of Mosul into legitimate currency markets in the Middle East.

It then makes huge returns on currency speculation, which are then wired back via unsuspecting financial authorities in Iraq and Jordan, a parliamentary committee was told on Wednesday.

Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant's (Isil) extraordinary venture into white collar crime is now a major source of income, along with oil smuggling and extortion from people living in Isil-controlled areas.

Mandela the Opera: Producer absconds with the production payroll
[The Telegraph] Production celebrating the early life of Nelson Mandela draws big crowds - but cast and crew say government money provided for their wages has disappeared, along with the opera's creator who may have fled the country.

A South African producer who put on an opera about Nelson Mandela after his death two years ago has disappeared without paying his cast or crew, according to reports.

Unathi Mtirara, who is distantly related to the former South African president, is said to have received R1m (£45,000) in grant money from the government but has vanished without a trace.

A lawyer acting for a guesthouse where Mr Mtirara put up his stars but is alleged not to have paid the bill said his colleague got hold of his wife who told him: "catch me if you can" before hanging up.

A member of the Mandela opera’s production team told the Pretoria News daily paper that Mr Mtirara’s phone was going straight to answerphone and some believed he may have left the country.

"He disappeared with the money and left us in the lurch," the unnamed crew member said. "All his and his wife's numbers are off; his social media pages no longer exist."

Madiba: the Africa Opera was created by Mr Mtirara, a grandson of Mr Mandela’s cousin, to explore his childhood in the tribal lands of the Eastern Cape as well as his well-documented struggle against apartheid.

Hamas operatives fear entering tunnels, believe Israel behind collapses
Hamas operatives are afraid to enter underground tunnels in the Gaza Strip, fearing that they will collapse, The Jerusalem Post has learned from Palestinian sources.

In addition, some of the operatives digging the tunnels believe that Israel was involved in at least some of the recent tunnel collapses that claimed the lives of several Hamas men.

The most recent collapse occurred on Thursday afternoon when a tunnel collapsed in Khan Younis, killing one Hamas operative. The collapse marked the sixth such tunnel collapse in recent months - the highest number of collapses to have occurred since summer 2014's Operation Protective Edge.

Official reports, both in Israel and Gaza, describe collapses caused by recent storms and heavy rains. However, among Hamas and others, there are many who believe that Israel is responsible.

Hamas operatives have seen Israeli activities near the Gaza border fence against tunnels and fear that they are connected to the tunnel collapses. Some of the activists have even spoken of the methods which Israel is supposedly using to cause the tunnels to collapse.

One Hamas operative claimed that Israel is using liquid explosives to cause the collapses, while another operative expressed fears of Israel's ability to cause localized earthquakes which could also collapse the tunnels.

Hamas has mentioned the IDF's Yahalom elite Combat Engineering Corps unit which has special anti-tunnel measures, and the Oketz canine unit which sends trained dogs into the tunnels.

Senior Hamas officials have paid condolence calls to those killed in the tunnel collapses, but have refused to give the bereaved families further information on the incidents. According to the mother of one of the tunnel victims, Hamas would only say that the collapse was caused by the weather, but failed to elaborate and maintained secrecy.

The leadership of Hamas apparently cannot prevent the collapse of the tunnels and recently, Hamas leader in Gaza Ismail Haniyeh claimed that Israeli technology has been discovered underground.

al-Nusra militants execute 2 in Idlib
IDLIB – Militants of the al-Qaeda-affiliated Nusra Front executed on Thursday two young men in Syria’s northwestern Idlib province on charges of spying for the Syrian regime’s forces.

Mahir Hajj Muhammad and Yousef al-Hasnawi were publicly executed in the Kafr Takharim town of Idlib countryside.

“Nusra accused them of leaking security information about the movements of the Islamist rebels in Idlib to pro-Assad forces,” a spokesman for the Department of Justice in Idlib told ARA News, speaking on condition of anonymity.

The Nusra Front, al-Qaeda wing in Syria, said in a statement that Muhammad and al-Hasnawi were arrested last week.

“Interrogations confirmed their involvement in spying for the Assad regime,” it said. “Their cooperation with the regime’s secret service outside Idlib province had facilitated airstrikes on the rebels’ headquarters.”

Nusra militants shot the two young men dead in a public square in Kafr Takharim on Thursday evening.

Kidnapped Italians reported killed
Two Italians kidnapped last July are believed to have been killed while being used as human shields by gunmen from the so-called Islamic State (IS) during a shoot-out near Sorman, west of Tripoli.

The Italian Foreign Ministry has said that it has launched an investigation as a result of pictures that it has seen showing two bodies. From the images, it said, “it could be possible to identify two of the four Italians who worked for the Bonatti construction company and who were kidnapped in July 2015. More specifically, the images could be of Fausto Piano and Salvatore Failla.”

It was difficult, however, to confirm the deaths in the absence of the bodies, the ministry added.

The photos were sent by Sabratha military council who say that the two are definately Italians but do not know their identities.

Piano and Failla were kidnapped along with Filippo Calcagno and Gino Tullicardo not far from the Mellitah Oil and Gas complex, 100 kilomtres west of Tripoli, while heading back from Tunisia and were believed to be being held by militants in Sabratha. At the time of their seizure, Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni was reported saying that the four could have been taken in retaliation for Italy’s support for UN-brokered Dialogue process. It has been suggested since that they were seized for ransom and that negotiations were taking place to secure their release.

Other reports, however, indicate that the four were held by IS sympathisers from the beginning.

It is not known what has happened to the other two Italians. There are suggestions in Sabratha that they were taken elsewhere by Abdullah Dabbashi, the IS commander in the town.

IS, which had at least three bases in Sabratha including training grounds, weapons stores and transit facilities, has been is disarray following last month’s US air strikes. After months of pretending IS was not there, local militias turned on them resulting in fierce clashes around the town and in some of the farms south of it where IS and its supporters were hiding out.

The mayor of Sabratha is reported saying that the two were among 12 people killed when security forces raided a IS hideout last night.

Yesterday, a number of IS fighters believed to left Sabratha were killed in a shootout in the Tunisian border town of Ben Guerdane.

Algeria Dissociates Itself from Decision of Blacklisting Hezbollah
[ALMANAR.LB] Algeria Foreign Minister Ramtan Lamara revealed that his country has officially dissociated itself from the Gulf countries decision that labeled on Wednesday Hezbollah as a terrorist group.

According to Algeria media outlets, Lamara said that Hezbollah is a political movement that operates in Leb in accordance with the local laws, adding that Algeria will never interfere in the domestic issues of the Arab countries.
Except for Spanish Morocco...
The Tunisia Foreign Ministry called on reversing the decision which blacklisted Hezbollah as the social media websites reflected the locals' condemnation for the resolution.

Tunisia Foreign Minister announced that the approval of the country's Interior Minister on the decision to blacklist Hezbollah tried to match the Arab consensus

He also noted that the such decisions are taken on the basis of consultations among the President, the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister, not the Interior Minister, stressing the strength of the relations that link Tunisia with Iran and Leb.

Earlier on Wednesday, GGCC issued ia statement in which it blacklisted Hezbollah as a "terrorist group."

Later on, interior ministers from several Arab countries took the same stance, denouncing the "practices of terrorist Hezbollah," during the 33rd session of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers in the Tunisian capital.

Army foils infiltration bid; militant killed, 2 Army men injured
[Daily Excelsior] Army today foiled a major infiltration bid in North Kashmire’s Keran sector on the Line of Control (LoC) and killed one holy warrior while two Army personnel were maimed.

A defence front man said here that Army foiled an infiltration bid in Keran sector of the LoC and killed one holy warrior early this morning. "One weapon was also recovered", the front man said.

The front man said that two soldiers were also injured during operation and they have been evacuated to hospital for treatment and their condition is stable.

Sources said that Army noticed movement of 6-7 bully boyz on LoC early today in Keran sector. These bully boyz had come inside the LoC and their movement was noticed by the Army men posted on the forward posts in the sector.

They said that the infiltrators were challenged by the troops deployed in the counter-infiltration grid. The bully boyz fled back to PoK; however, two of them were killed as Army saw the retreating bully boyz dragging two bodies.

The Army launched searches in the area near the LoC and saw one of the bodies lying near the LoC. As the Army went to recover the body, bully boyz hiding in the bushes fired upon them injuring two Army men. They were immediately evacuated and their condition is stated to be out of danger. The Army men belong to 11-Kumaon regiment and were maimed at Rawtha Naad Domari.

A major search operation has been launched in the area and more troops were rushed there. Intermittent firing was on and troops in the area have been put on high alert.

This year this is the first infiltration bid that was foiled by Army today. Normally, the bully boyz start infiltration attempts from the month of May when the snow melts on the mountain peaks. But this year due to less snowfall in winter and high temperatures in February and March there is very little snow on the LoC left and bully boyz have started infiltration attempts.

Sources said that the Army has already intensified its vigil along the LoC to prevent any infiltration from across the LoC as there is less snow on the LoC. They said that Army had the apprehensions that the bully boyz may try to infiltration ahead of their schedule.

Abdullah: No compromise on women’s rights in peace process with Taliban
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah
... the former foreign minister of the Northern Alliance government, advisor to Masood, and candidate for president against Karzai. Dr. Abdullah was born in Kabul and is half Tadjik and half Pashtun...
promised that the government will not comprise on women’s rights as efforts are underway to revive peace talks with the anti-government armed bully boy groups.

In his speech during an event to mark the International Women’s Day, Abdullah said as the government is preparing for peace there will not be any compromise on women’s rights and their achievements.

Insisting that the women’s rights is not a gift, Abdullah said the Afghan women have suffered the most from the war in the country and the government’s ongoing efforts for grinding of the peace processor are aimed at providing a peaceful environment both for men and women of the country.

Abdullah further added that the Afghan women can freely raise their voices now which were once silenced and had no right to share their opinion, calling the change a big achievement since the fall of the Taliban regime.

The remarks by Abdullah comes as the Afghan government is expecting to meet the Taliban representatives during a direct face to face meeting to discuss the grinding of the peace processor.

Pakistain has offered to host the first round of direct talks between the Afghan government and Taliban representatives following the conclusion of the fourth round of Quadrilateral Coordination Group (QCG) meeting late last month.

The Afghan women suffered the most during the Taliban regime as the group implemented strict law in the country, preventing the women to participate in social affairs, even barring the girls and women of the country to have access to the educational institutions.

ISIS commander dies in Damascus
DAMASCUS – Clashes broke out on Thursday between jihadis from the Nusra Front, al-Qaeda branch in Syria, and the Islamic State (ISIS) near Syria’s capital Damascus.

Abu Khidir, ISIS Emir and leader of the group’s operations in southern Damascus, was killed along with a number of his escorts when a group of Nusra militants attacked his convoy in the Yarmouk district in Damascus suburb.

“After the Abu Khidir convoy was exposed to a deadly attack by Nusra fighters, clashes broke out between both groups across the Yarmouk Camp,” media activist Khalil al-Thawri told ARA News in Damascus.

“At least five ISIS members were killed, including Abu Khidir,” the source confirmed. “Three Nusra militants were injured in the clashes–that continued until Thursday midnight,” the source said.

In the meantime, Nusra Front issued a statement announcing the death of the ISIS Emir–who had led battles against al-Qaeda-affiliated Nusra militants in the Syrian capital.

“The jihadis have executed Abu Khidir and some of his followers, who had submitted themselves to serve the enemy of Allah, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi (ISIS supreme leader),” the group said.

The Yarmouk Camp has been under siege by pro-Assad forces since Islamist rebels took over the district. Civilians in Yarmouk have been suffering a sharp shortage of food and medicine.

“People of Yarmouk appeal to the international community to intervene and save thousands of innocents who had suffered enough from siege by pro-Assad forces and atrocities at the hands of radical Islamists,” al-Thawri said.

Arabia
Over 85 percent of Yemen liberated
Riyadh — Yemen’s national army and popular resistance forces have liberated more than 85 percent of the Yemeni territories from Houthi militia control and the forces of the ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh, Yemeni President Abdrabbu Mansour Hadi said in an exclusive interview with the Saudi Gazette and Okaz newspapers.

Hadi also admitted during the exclusive interview with the Saudi newspapers that Yemen would have fallen in four days and would have been an Iranian state had it not been for the Operation Decisive Storm launched by the Arab military coalition under the leadership of Saudi Arabia.

The president expressed confidence that Sanaa, which was taken by the Houthis, would be freed after the liberation of both Taiz and Hudaidah.

Hadi described his relationship with Saudi King Salman as sublime, close and strong and said Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, minister of defense, is providing them with all the necessary facilities and support.
Hadi still hasn't said what he's giving the Saudis in return...
He added there are a number of Iranians and elements of Hezbollah in Yemen providing military training to the Houthis militias.

During the interview, Hadi also revealed that Iranians came to Yemen to build a factory for the manufacture of Grad missiles for the rebels. “The factory’s components were shipped in a container among children’s toys. We discovered from the documents that it was on its way to Saadah, the stronghold of the Houthis,” he said.

The Yemeni president also put aside rumors by denying reports of a serious rifts with his deputy and prime minister Khaled Bahah and said there might be some differences in viewpoints. “The circumstances require that we remain together,” he said.

#9  Teton Dam Failure video Two minutes of explanation, then about 40 seconds of flooding.

At 11:55 a.m. MDT (UTC-17:55), the crest of the dam sagged and collapsed into the reservoir; two minutes later the remainder of the right-bank third of the main dam wall disintegrated. Over 2,000,000 cubic feet per second (57,000 m3/s) of sediment-filled water emptied through the breach into the remaining 6 miles (10 km) of the Teton River canyon, after which the flood spread out and shallowed on the Snake River Plain. By 8:00 p.m. that evening, the reservoir had completely emptied, although over two-thirds of the dam wall remained standing. Wikipedia

Only 11 dead, but this was in eastern Idaho.

JUI-F provincial executive council, which met here on Wednesday, decided that it would allow the provincial government to introduce any bill in the assembly regarding women rights which was repugnant to Sharia.

A statement said that JUI-F provincial chief Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan chaired the meeting. The council strongly condemned Punjab Protection of Women against Violence and alleged that such laws were aimed at promoting western culture and indecency in the society.

The council said that Pakistain was being made a secular state and some elements were trying to destroy family system. The statement said that Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government had abandoned health and education sectors and handed them over to NGOs.

It said that Kalashnikov culture was promoted in the name of security in educational institutions as government allowed students and teachers to carry weapons for self protection.

Iraq
General sez ISIS losing ground in Ninevah
ERBIL – The Islamic State (ISIS) extremist group is losing ground in norther Iraq and “unable to resist for long”, said a top commander in the Peshmerga army of Iraqi Kurdistan.

In an exclusive interview with ARA News, Brigadier General Talat Saleh Zarari of the Kurdish Peshmerga army said their recent gains in Nineveh province “reflect the gradual collapse of ISIS”.

“Under heavy blows by the Peshmerga, ISIS is getting weaker day by day. With the constant advance by our units and allied forces in northern Iraq, ISIS appears unable to resist for long,” he said.

Zarari pointed out that the U.S.-led coalition’s airstrikes on ISIS tactical units has facilitated the Peshmerga progress.

“Our movements on the ground are coordinated with the western coalition, which has helped the Peshmerga make remarkable gains against ISIS in the recent weeks,” he told ARA News.

Subsequent to fierce battles with ISIS militants, the Kurdish Peshmerga troops have recently recaptured the Yezidi region of Shingal (Sinjar) and other areas near Kirkuk in northern Iraq.

Regarding the ongoing battle for Mosul, the Peshmerga commander said that Iraqi army forces are currently deployed in the Makhmur district in southern Irbil “as part of the military preparations aimed at liberating Mosul”.

“According to the initial military plan, the Iraqi army would bear the responsibility of fighting ISIS inside the city of Mosul, while the Kurdish Peshmerga combats ISIS militants in the suburbs,” Zarari told ARA News. “However, we may send reinforcements to central Mosul in case the Iraqi army encountered any difficulties during the battle.”

The official denied reports about ongoing disputes and clashes between the Kurdish army and Shiite militia of the Popular Mobilization Forces in Kirkuk.

“The Peshmerga tries to avoid any clashes with Iraqi groups that participate in the war on ISIS,” he said.

“Our main target at the moment is ISIS,” Zarari insisted. “Eliminating this dangerous terror organization would be a victory not only for the Kurds, but also for all Iraqi people and the entire region.”

Asked about the delivery of American heavy weapons to the Peshmerga, the commander said: “We have been promised, but we are still waiting to receive such weapons.”

“The Peshmerga forces operate with a high morale. We are optimistic that ISIS would be defeated soon and peace would return to this region,” Zarari concluded.

Four dead as militant violence surges in southern Thailand
[Benar News] Four people including at least two civilians were killed in separate shootings within a 24-hour span in southern Thailand. Those killings bring to 16 the number of people killed across the region in shootings and bombings by militants since February 10, when Thai security forces raided an insurgent hideout in Pattani province. Thirty-one other people were wounded in 14 bombings and 18 shootings since then.

The recent outburst of violence takes place after a period of relative calm and while the Thai government has been negotiating with southern militants to persuade them to reopen peace talks for the first time since 2013. Last year, the level of rebel violence in the region hit a record low since 2004.

Last month's raid seems to have triggered a series of retaliatory attacks, a security source said. He said, "Since February 10, there have been shootings more often. They seem like a vendetta."

The violence began Wednesday night with the slaying of a paramilitary officer in Yala province, and culminated with three more fatal shootings the next day in Yala and neighboring Pattani. Two of the victims were gunned down and set on fire.

One of the two was killed and his body burned at around dawn on Thursday as he rode his motorcycle in Yala province. Lt. Capt. Pol. Prachaya Hedhark, "Chatchai was shot dead with a handgun while riding a motorcycle on the way to work in a rubber plantation."

Later Thursday, police in Yala’s Muang district found the body of Arnus Muso, an intelligence officer. Police suspect insurgents killed him on Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, electrician was shot while working on a utility pole Thursday afternoon in Pattani. And at dusk, a retired policeman was gunned down and burned while riding his bike.

Pakistan pledges to work for easing tension in South Asia
[DAWN] Pakistain remains committed to lessening the risk of an armed conflict in South Asia, says a joint statement issued after the US-Pakistain Strategic Dialogue.
They did that by digging a tunnel under the Line of Control, from the Pak side to the Indian.
The document also underlines Washington’s recognition of Kashmire as a dispute that needs to be resolved peacefully.

"Pakistain affirmed that it remains committed to pursuing measures aimed at building confidence and lessening the risk of armed conflict," said the statement issued on Tuesday evening, a day after the talks concluded.

"The United States and Pakistain emphasised the importance of meaningful dialogue in support of peaceful resolution of outstanding issues, including Kashmire," it added.

The chapter on "fostering strategic stability" deals with preventing the proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMDs) and their means of delivery to states as well as non-state actors.

It rebinds Pakistain to United Nations
...an organization which on balance has done more bad than good, with the good not done well and the bad done thoroughly...
Security Council Resolution 1540, which requires all member states to enforce appropriate and effective measures against proliferation.

In the joint statement, the US acknowledged Pakistain’s ongoing efforts to harmonise its strategic trade controls with those of the multilateral export control regimes.

Tunisia Raid on Militants Foiled Attack Plot from Libya: PM
[ALMANAR.LB] Five snuffies who were killed by Tunisian forces near the Libyan border had slipped across with the intention of carrying out "terrorist attacks", Prime Minister Habib Essid said on Thursday.

In a statement on his official Facebook page, Essid paid tribute to the army and national guard units who had eliminated the "terrorist cell sent in from Libya."

He did not elaborate on the identities of the five snuffies but said that their killing on Wednesday evening had "foiled the terrorist operations the cell was planning."

One civilian was killed by a stray bullet during the assault on a house outside the town of Ben Guerdane near the border. An army commander was also maimed.

Explosive vests, improvised grenades and a large quantity of munitions were recovered from the slain bad boys, the interior ministry said.

Six foreign passports were also found, it said without elaborating.

Troops had been on alert after receiving reports that snuffies had slipped across the border over the past three days in response to a US air strike on an ISIL group training camp in Libya on February 18 that targeted a senior Tunisian commander.
An Nahar adds:
At least four of the infiltrators were Tunisian nationals, the interior ministry later said, while the fifth was still to be identified.

Scientific paper sez the human hand was designed by a 'Creator' sparks controversy
[Independent] A recent scientific paper on the movement of the human hand has faced strong criticism for referring to a 'Creator' throughout.

The paper, titled: 'Biomechanical characteristics of hand coordination in grasping activities of daily living' was written by a team of four researchers, three from Huazhong University in China, and one from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts.

Published in the PLOS ONE journal, the fairly conventional study looked at the mechanics of how we grasp things, and involved the measurement of the hand movements of 30 participants.

Donetsk rebels say ceasefire violations have doubled

Russian backed separatists claimed that the Ukrainian military has violated the ceasefire almost 400 times in 24 hours, according to official rebel media.

According to an announcement posted on the website of the Donetsk ministry of defense, the great bulk of the shooting has come from 120mm and 82mm mortar fire, as well as from 30mm autocannon fire from the ubiquitous BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicle.

Most of the shooting has take place in western suburbs of Donetsk city and in areas around Gorlovka.

According to rebel media, Ukrainians fired their weapons on Peski, Krasnogorovka, Marinka, Opytnoye, the airport and the Volvo Center in western Donetsk city.

Official rebel media says that Ukrainian shelling struck a water treatment plant, knocking it off line for an undisclosed amount of time.

Other areas under fire north of Donetsk city include Gorlovka and Zaitsevo.

Kominternovo in the south near Mariupol came under Ukrainian fire as well, said the announcement.

According to Russian language Ukrainian media from the website censor.net.ua, rebels have fired rocket artillery onto Ukrainian positions, totaling 24 rockets, which struck between Marinka and Krasnogorovka. Residential houses also have reportedly been struck by rebel rocket artillery fire.

A regnum.ru report quoted Ukrainian military officials as saying that rebel artillery struck Ukrainian positions 62 times over 24 hours in several locations in both Donetsk and Lugansk. Rebel troops fired on Ukrainian troops 34 times using small arms fire in western Donetsk city sectors, northern areas around Gorlovka, southern areas near Mariupol and in Lugansk.

4 hour bombardment in Zaitsevo

Donetsk ministry of defense spokesman Lt. Colonel Eduard Basurin said Thursday that Ukrainian small arms fire was directed at rebel positions in Zaistevo after Ukrainian artillery fire struck rebel positions for nearly four hours the previous day.

Basurin claims that rebel troops are under "silence mode" orders not to return fire unless lives are in direct danger.

So far, no reports from the rebel side have emerged as to casualties, and Ukrainian media have yet to address the fighting there. Zaitsevo is in the same general area as Gorlovka, which itself has been under nearly continual Ukrainian artillery fire since the summer of 2014.

3 HM militants killed in Tral
[Daily Excelsior] Three snuffies of Hizbul Mujahideen were killed in an overnight shootout with security forces in Tral area of South Kashmire’s Pulwama district.
They were surrounded yesterday. "Surrounded" seems to have a pretty standard meaning in J&K.
Police said that three snuffies were killed in the encounter that broke out last evening at Mir Mohalla in Dadsara village of Tral. The dead snuffies have been identified as Aasif Yousuf of Dadsara Tral, Ishaq Parray of Laribal Tral and Aashiq Hussain of Chersoo village of Awantipora.

Ishaq Ahmad, 20, was being called as Newton for his meritorious academic record as he had scored 98.4 percent in his 10th class examinations in 2011. The slain was preparing for CET when he left his home and joined militancy last year.

Army’s 42 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmire Police on a specific information about the presence of three HM snuffies cordoned off Dadsara village last evening. As they were conducting searches during the operation snuffies opened fire from a residential house on them leading to a shootout.

Troops put the operation on hold last night and tightened the cordon around the village to prevent snuffies from fleeing. They launched an assault on the house at around 3 pm killing all the three bad boys.

The house was damaged in the encounter and three AK-47 rifles were recovered from the encounter site. Army said that Ashiq Hussain had provided shelter to the LeT snuffies who carried out the attack on BSF at Udhampur last year.

Security forces this year achieved major success against snuffies in Kashmire killing 20 snuffies including 15 from LeT and 5 of Hizbul Mujahideen so far. This is highest number of snuffies killed in the first over 60 days in recent years.

The killings of three snuffies triggered protests in Tral and Awantipora areas by locals who resorted to stone-pelting on security forces amid a shutdown in the area.

Soon after bodies of three snuffies were handed over to their families, people in large numbers gathered at the bad boys’ native villages for attending funerals.

Stone-pelting festivities broke out at several places including Tral Town, Dadsara and Chursoo between forces and angry youths after the funerals of the slain snuffies during which police fired scores of teargas shells. Police, however, said the situation in both Awantipora and Tral is under control.

Karzai hints at Pakistan after gunmen attack Indian consulate in Nangarhar
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The former Afghanistan's Caped President Hamid Maybe I'll join the Taliban Karzai
... A former Baltimore restaurateur, now 12th and current President of Afghanistan, displacing the legitimate president Rabbani in December 2004. He was installed as the dominant political figure after the removal of the Taliban regime in late 2001 in a vain attempt to put a Pashtun face on the successor state to the Taliban. After the 2004 presidential election, he was declared president regardless of what the actual vote count was. He won a second, even more dubious, five-year-term after the 2009 presidential election. His grip on reality has been slipping steadily since around 2007, probably from heavy drug use...

province of Afghanistan, saying the attack is part of a trend of such attacks launched from Pakistain.

Karzai is currently in India, participating the Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi. "They are simply attacking India’s presence in Afghanistan, whenever they get the opportunity," Karzai told The Hindu during an exclusive interview.

He said "The whole spectrum of the India-Afghan relations, the relationship itself, is the target of the attacks."

and Islamabad, Karzai said "What is there in the relationship between India and Afghanistan that would irk someone so much that they would come and attack the Indian consulates, or attack Afghanistan."

Karzai further added "Each of those attacks has originated from across the border, from the neighbouring Pakistain. That’s where the origin of this trouble is: the Lashkar-e-Taiba
...the Army of the Pure, an Ahl-e-Hadith terror organization founded by Hafiz Saeed. LeT masquerades behind the Jamaat-ud-Dawa facade within Pakistain and periodically blows things up and kills people in India. They are currently a wholly-owned subsidiary of al-Qaeda ...
, Jaish-e- Mohammad, all these outfits are from Pakistain. So, the sanctuaries, the training grounds, the financial factors and the motivating factors are all inside Pakistain, and come from across the border."

At least three people including a policeman bit the dust and 19 others sustained injuries in the attack on the consulate which was launched by a group of at least 6 Death Eaters.

There were no casualties to Indian diplomats and consulate employees, the officials said, adding that a policeman and two civilians were among those killed and 19 others were maimed including women and kiddies.

Gazan accused of planning attacks in Ukraine, Israel
[IsraelTimes] Paleostinian indicted in plot to kidnap soldiers, attack Israeli tourists and provide weapons to ‘IS-affiliated’ Israeli Arabs

A Paleostinian man from the the Gazoo Strip stands accused of planning a series of terror attacks against Israelis, both in the country and abroad.

The man was named as 31-year-old Sami Hamied, a Gazoo native who has been living in Ukraine since 2010 and was tossed in the clink
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
in January while trying to enter Israel from Jordan in an attempt to make his way to Gazoo.

A gag order on the details of the case was lifted with the filing of the indictment Thursday at the Beersheba District Court.

According to the indictment, Hamied planned to attack Israeli tourists visiting Ukraine and assisted Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, in preparations for attacks in Israel.

One plot, which was not acted on, involved luring Israeli IDF officers into the Sinai using a hooker as "bait." According to the plan, Hamas-affiliated gunnies in the peninsula would kidnap the officers and transfer them to Gazoo.

Hamied is said to have collected information on Israeli tourist groups traveling to the Ukrainian city of Odessa and allegedly planned to carry out a shooting or bombing attack on a tour bus.

The indictment also mentioned him assisting Hamas during the 2008-9 Gazoo war, also known as Operation Cast Lead, and attempting to provide weapons to ‘Islamic State

He has been indicted on several counts of terror activities, spying and falsifying documents.

Arab media reported that Sami Hamied is the brother of Salam Hamied, a high-ranking commander in the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.

Fourth-grade girl raped, impregnated by teacher in Larkana
[DAWN] LARKANA: Hatri Ghulam Shah Police on Tuesday booked a primary school teacher on charges of sexually assaulting and raping a fourth-grade girl student in Nau Abad village.
Fourth grade is nine or ten years old?
In America, yes. It could be older or younger over there -- the Brits start a year younger than we do, and in many things the Indian subcontinent followed the pattern they set.
The girl's maternal uncle, Ghulam Hussain Kalhoro, registered a First-Information Report (FIR) against the accused under Section 376 of the Pakistain Penal Code. The school teacher has been placed in durance vile
Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit!
and the FIR filed under No.9/2016.

The police at the Hatri Ghulam Shah cop shoppe have referred the case to Chandka Medical College Hospital, where the girl underwent a medical examination. On Tuesday, the assistant police surgeon at the hospital, Dr Munir Sheikh, confirmed that the girl's medical check-up had taken place, and that results showed she had been raped.

Dr Meena Kumari, the medical-legal officer who conducted the test, said the girl is four months pregnant.

The girl's parents sensed that something was wrong when she complained of nausea and vomiting, sources said. On Tuesday, the girl and her father Mumtaz held a protest at SP chowk, where the Sindh minister was presiding over a meeting.

Two Israeli Arabs charged with plotting terror attacks inspired by ISIS
[Ynet] Bahaa al-Din Masarwa and Ahmad Ahmad from Nazareth planned shooting attacks in Afula, Jerusalem and the Jamala checkpoint near Jenin.

Two Israeli Arabs were accused on Thursday of supporting the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group and planning terror attacks at the Jalama checkpoint in Jenin, in Afula and in Jerusalem.

Bahaa al-Din Masarwa, 19, and Ahmad Ahmad, 21, were charged with establishing contact with enemies during war, contacting a foreign agent, and supporting a terrorist organization.

According to the indictment, Masarwa conspired with his grandfather to commit a shooting attack in the name of ISIS against soldiers at the Jalama (Gilboa) checkpoint near Jenin or in Afula.

Northern District Police described Masarwa as a student from Jenin who "passes through the Jamala checkpoint all the time and was planning to hurt security forces at the checkpoint."

Later, the two defendants conspired together to commit a shooting attack in the name of ISIS against soldiers at the Lion's Gate in Jerusalem.

In addition, Masarwa was in contact with a foreign agent from ISIS, and posted ISIS-related content online.

Masarwa, from Yaffa in the northern Galilee, was nabbed
Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out!
on January 22. He admitted to the suspicions attributed to him and confirmed in his interrogation that he is an ISIS supporter.

Ahmad, from Nazareth was arrested on February 9. Masarwa said that he and Ahmad planned to purchase weapons together and commit terror attacks in different locations in order to undermine Israel's security forces.

Masarwa claimed that "we've only been arrested because we have beards."

A relative of one of the defendants stated that "everything that is being attributed to them is false. We don't know where this story came from. Soon, we're sure, they will be released and won't remain in jail. This is a storm in a teacup."

Masarwa is the nephew of Ayman Kanjou, 44, from Shefa-'Amr, who was accused in September of trying to join the Islamic State. The mother of five boys, who has a PhD in Islamic Studies and no criminal record, went to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
with her father, who later returned to Israel and reported her missing. According to the indictment against her, she tried to join ISIS but was stopped by Turkey and returned to Israel.

Egyptian student may be deported after Trump threat
[Ynet] A flight student from Egypt is facing deportation from the United States after being investigated by federal agents for posting on his Facebook page that he was willing to kill Donald Trump and the world would thank him.
The entire world is watching this election, and some -- again -- are a bit too involved. Let us hope The Guardian's readers don't write us with good advice for another election. Even The Guardian recognized, sort of, how much they put their foot in it last time.
While US prosecutors have not charged 23-year-old Emadeldin Elsayed with a crime, immigration authorities nabbed
Please don't kill me!
him last month at the Los Angeles-area flight school he attended and now are trying to deport him, attorney Hani Bushra said Wednesday.

Elsayed, who is being held in a jail in Orange, Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,, is devastated at seeing his dreams of becoming a pilot dashed over what Bushra acknowledged was a foolish social media post. An immigration court hearing will determine whether Elsayed will be deported.

"It seems like the government was not able to get a criminal charge to stick on him, so they used the immigration process to have him leave the country," Bushra said. "The rhetoric is particularly high in this election, and I just feel he got caught up in the middle."
Al Ahram, our miscreant's hometown paper, adds:
Elsayed is from Cairo, but he said he spent much of his life in Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, where his father worked as a civil engineer. He came to the United States for the first time last September to attend Universal Air Academy with the hope of returning to Egypt and getting a job at an airline, he said.

He said he'd like to continue his studies in the United States if the government lets him stay. If not, he will seek a refund of some of the $65,000 he has spent on his education and use it to study elsewhere.

Alex Khatib, owner of Universal Air Academy, said he knows little about the case except that federal agents showed up at his school to interview and later detain Elsayed.

Saudi-Israeli Ties Unmasked: Abandoning of Palestine, Turning to Fight Iran
[ALMANAR.LB] Israeli media reported recently that a high-level Zionist delegation headed by a top official had visited Riyadh several weeks ago, and that the military censorship does neither allow talking about the, nor about its goals.

However,
some people cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go...
it was not the first time that media reports talk about meeting between Gulf or Saudi officials with Zionists, which reflects confidential ties between Gulf regime, mainly Al-Saud, and the usurping Israeli entity.

In addition to the Israeli statements, pictures and information were being published between now and then, in a form of meetings and hand-shakings, about a certain relation combining Israelis and some Gulf figures, such as the photo of former Israeli President Shimon Peres wandering around "Waqef Market" in the Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates...
i capital of Doha, and the media leaks about the possibility of opening a new subsidiary for International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) in Abu Dhabi, provided that 'Israel' would have an official representative office in the Emirati capital.

Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
and Israel: Normalization or Coalition

During his speech on Martyred Leaders commemoration, Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah pointed out that some people are trying to portray the Zionist entity as a defender of the "Sunnis" in order to exploit circumstances and developments and to move some relationships from under the table to above of the table...

"How a sane Sunni could accept that the Zionist entity presents itself as his friend, his ally and his protector," Sayyed Nasrallah asked, adding: "What a fraud and deception practiced by Arab media and Arab spiteful and ignorant rulers?" wondering that how can anyone accepts the Zionist entity as a friend, ally and protector after it had committed all that sins so far.

"This case... was registered against Rizwan, who is a Shia by faith, in January for posting objectionable material against the belief of Sunnis," Adeel Chattah, public prosecutor in the case, told AFP.

He was also fined Rs0.25 million, Chattah said, adding that he denied the charges and has the right to appeal.

His lawyer dismissed the accusations.

Karachi airport attack suspects acquitted in shootout case
[DAWN] KARACHI: A sessions court on Wednesday acquitted three airport attack suspects in a case pertaining to a shootout with police near Saddar.

Additional district and sessions judge Sikandar Ameer Pahore, who conducted the trial inside the central prison, exonerated the accused Sarmad Siddiqui, Asif Zaheer and Nadeem alias Burger alias Mullah after hearing both sides.

The accused persons said to be associated with the Al Qaeda and Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain were charged with allegedly attacking a police party and engaging them in a shootout near Saddar in order to escape on Oct 15, 2014.

The court observed the entire evidence that came up on record showed that it was a case of "ineffective firing", as nobody from either side sustained a single gunshot wound during the exchange of fire.

Since the case became doubtful, the court ruled that it extended the benefit of the doubt to the accused.

Paperwork was started but nothing else was done under Sections 353 (criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 324 (attempted murder) and 34 (common intention) of Pakistain Penal Code at the CID Civil Lines cop shoppe.

The crime investigation department of police claimed to have placed in durance vile
Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit!
them on Oct 28, 2014. According to the CID, unlicensed weapons were seized from Asif and Nadeem.

The same court recently acquitted the accused persons in illicit weapons cases for lack of evidence.

The accused persons have also been facing charges before an antiterrorism court for allegedly providing logistical support, funds and weapons to around 10 attackers who stormed Bloody Karachi

Pitt Students 'In Tears' and Feeling 'Unsafe' After Milo Yiannopoulos Event
The University of Pittsburgh's Student Government Board held a public meeting on Tuesday to discuss the traumatizing visit the night before from "dangerous" homosexual and Breitbart Tech Editor Milo Yiannopoulos, during which students described themselves as feeling "hurt" and "unsafe."
I'm really starting to like this guy, and this is all I know about him.
He just might be the legitimate successor to Breitbart...
"During his talk, Yiannopoulos called students who believe in a gender wage gap 'idiots,' declared the Black Lives Matter movement a 'supremacy' group, while feminists are 'man-haters,'" according to the student paper The Pitt News, prompting a handful of twenty-something-year olds to feel upset.

"Just because we have to be neutral with our funding doesn't mean we're personally neutral," announced board member Jack Heidecker at the meeting. "I hurt yesterday, too."
Apparently you haven't been in the real world.
"So many of us shared in our pain. I felt I was in danger, and I felt so many people in that room were in danger," proclaimed Marcus Robinson, student and president of the Pittsburgh Rainbow Alliance. Robinson also suggested that councilors should have been provided in another room to protect students who felt "traumatized" by Yiannopoulos's opinions.
If you feel in danger and collapse like cooked spaghetti, you will not last long once the barbarians come pouring over the borders.
This is more than hurt feelings, this is about real violence. We know that the violence against marginalized groups happens every day in this country," claimed social work and urban studies major Claire Matway. "That so many people walked out of that [event] feeling in literal physical danger is not alright."
Bitch... that ain't real danger. Come stand in front of me and say that shit again. You'll fucking know real danger you worthless piece of shit.
I just want to know why highly educated university students-cum-journalists thought it was acceptable to spell all right as alright, and why their even more highly educated editors, both student and advisory, concurred.
President of the College Republicans and fellow student Tim Nerozzi responded to the complaints by proclaiming, "I'm not here to rain on your parade. We put a trigger warning on our fliers for the event. We never claimed it would be a family friendly or a politically correct lecture."

"I do realize that some people were genuinely hurt, and I'm not going to ignore that, but free speech should not trump safety," he said. "We need to see the school work around that."
Sith release to the university: "WHAAAAAAA"

You are all pathetic and not worthy of the men and women that came before you.

Also, any gay man that can bring an entire university to tears and make them quiver like jello is fucking awesome in my book. Well done sir.

Afghanistan
Abdullah dismisses speculations about planned hand over of districts to militants
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah
... the former foreign minister of the Northern Alliance government, advisor to Masood, and candidate for president against Karzai. Dr. Abdullah was born in Kabul and is half Tadjik and half Pashtun...
dismissed speculations about the planned hand over of certain districts to the anti-government armed turban groups.

Speaking during a joint session of the Afghan parliament and cabinet of ministers, Abdullah said the speculations have been rife since the security institutions have started shifting certain security posts to the central bases in some provinces.

The session was also attended by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani
...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money. ..
, members of the parliament and cabinet ministers.

Abdullah further added that the retreat of the security posts are being done based on a decision made during the national security council meeting, where it was it was decided that the security posts would not be able to defend the bandidos holy warriors attacks.

He said the retreat will help to defend the central bases, district government compounds and main military bases.

Abdullah also expressed concern
...meaning the brow was mildly wrinkled, the eyebrows drawn slightly together, and a thoughtful expression assumed, not that anything was actually done or indeed that any thought was actually expended...
s regarding the inappropriate reflection of certain affairs in media which the anti-government armed bandidos holy warriors are using in their favor, citing the lack of coordination and lack of information certain ministers and the parliament members are having.

This comes as serious disagreements were reported between the Afghan government and Afghan parliament during the current Afghan year.

The differences led to the rejection of certain legislative decrees issued by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani which reportedly had links with the ongoing differences between the government and parliament members.
