Barack Obama will fly to Britain next month
h/t Gates of Vienna
Barack Obama will fly to Britain next month to urge voters to back staying in the European Union, it was revealed this morning.
Ha?
The US President is planning a 'big, public reach-out' to British voters to make the case for staying in the Brussels club.
It's okay to interfere in other countries' elections when Democrats do it...
But Brexit campaigners have hit back, saying the intervention from the president of a country that won its independence through a civil war was hypocritical and told Mr Obama to 'keep his views to himself'.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Who Funded the Murder of an Iraq Vet in Israel?
[SultanKnish] Taylor Force had been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, he had served at Fort Hood in the year of the infamous Islamic terrorist attack on the base, but a Jihadist finally caught up to the veteran, whose father and grandfather had also served their country, in civilian life during a visit to Israel.

Bashar Masalha, the Islamic terrorist who murdered Force, was shot dead by Israeli police around the time that Biden was hanging out a mile away at the Peres Center for Peace. But Biden and his boss signed the checks to Iran and the Palestinian Authority that motivated and rewarded Force's killer.

Masalha came from Qalqilya which is under the civil control of the Palestinian Authority. Its mayor, Othman Dawood, is a member of Fatah, the core political organization behind the PLO and the Palestinian Authority. Fatah celebrated the murder of Taylor Force and other victims of the attack, praising Masalha as a "heroic martyr". It named him and two other terrorist attackers as "the pride of all of the young Palestinians" and urged future terrorists to go on killing in their name. Palestinian Authority television called the terrorist who murdered an American, a Shaheed, a martyr for Islam. And the Palestinian Authority's support for the murder of Taylor Force doesn't just end there.

The Palestinian Authority pays terrorists based on the amount of harm they caused and the resulting jail sentence. Had Masalha survived his attack on Taylor Force and the other victims, he would have likely been paid $2,000 a month for his act of terror. That’s pretty good money in a place where $2,000 is more like an annual income. It’s so good that that there’s no shortage of terrorists eager to kill for cash.

And the Palestinian Authority has no shortage of money to pay Muslim terrorists to kill Americans and Israelis because the terror organization which claims to be a state is subsidized by the United States with billions of dollars. In 2014, the PA spent $144 million on payments to convicted terrorists. Its terror budget benefited from Obama boosting 2014 foreign aid to the PA to $440 million. For "peace".

Masalha is dead and will not receive the blood money he was hoping for from the Palestinian Authority, but he died knowing that his family will still be paid for his crime. In just one year, the PA paid out $78 million to the families of terrorists. Masalha’s family will receive money each month for the murder of Taylor Force. That money will come from American taxpayers. It will come from you.

#4  From what I understand jews owned the stores in the ghettos (Primarily Black ghettos but maybe some Latinos). When they earned enough money they moved out and Asian familes bought up the stores.

The Ghetto populace tends to have its number of pickpockets and burglars which caused higher prices than normal as well as untrusting policies so the relationship between the community and the stores was never really friendly and the store owners were seen as leaches rather than providers of necessary goods.

#5  Regardless, it seems odd given these numbers that Jews seem especially concerned about mostly phantom anti-Semitism emanating from white evangelical Christians, while being less concerned about anti-Semitism in core Democratic constituencies. But, “many studies show that people tend to devalue or ignore any information that makes their political adversaries look good, while overvaluing anything that looks bad.”

So, the Donks don't worry about what other Donks think. I suppose for his next thesis, the Author will discover that Trunks worry more about Donks than about other Trunks. Well, until Trump, anyways.

Palestinian women caught with knives ‘on way to attack’
[IsraelTimes] Two Paleostinian women have been nabbed
Into the paddy wagon wit' yez!
after security forces found knives in their bags at the Zeitim checkpoint on the outskirts of Jerusalem, police say.

Border Police and Military Police discovered and seized the weapons during a standard procedure search.

The two women, ages 24 and 28 from Abu Dis near Jerusalem, were arrested. Police say the initial interrogation revealed they were "on their way to carry out a terror attack."

#1  Wouldn't it only make sense to have those knives tested for sharpness on those who carried them, the entire testing procedure to be carried out in the open at the border crossing? It might cause other knives to be quietly carried back home.

The Great Game is back?
[Jpost] Putin's power move in Syria puts Russia on par with US

...Just as he surprised the world six months ago when he decided to send his military to intervene in the Syrian civil war, he similarly amazed observers on Monday when he announced plans to gradually withdraw his forces from there.

Putin said Monday night that Russia had achieved its goals in Syria. It's difficult to judge that statement since it's been unclear from the start what those goals were. If the aims were limited -- preventing the collapse of President Bashar Assad's regime -- then the mission was indeed accomplished.

...More than anything, the Russian intervention places Moscow on an equal superpower plane with the United States, whose policies in Syria in particular -- and the Middle East in general -- is losing all credibility and support amongst its friends.

...In addition to his military maneuvers, Putin understands that Syria will never return to being the sovereign state it was with its traditional borders, as was the case in the period before 2011. This explains Russia’s readiness to lead a diplomatic effort that would turn Syria into a federally run political entity comprising a number of provinces - an Alawite (Shi’ite) fiefdom in the coastal area ruled by Assad, along Kurdish and Druse enclaves as well as chunks for the rebels.

...The Russian gambit also serves the interests of both Iran and Israel. Russian intervention has led to a certain rift with Iran, or, at the very least, Iranian discomfort. All of a sudden, Tehran finds itself playing second fiddle to Putin. Now Iran will return to its customary position of buttressing Assad.
And paying the price
...As for Israel, the Russian decision is both a blessing and curse. On the one hand, Israel gets back its freedom to maneuver militarily, which it exercised almost completely before Moscow entered the fray. It will no longer have to coordinate its aerial activity in the skies above Syria with the Russians, nor will it need to clench its teeth in frustration as Russian fighter jets penetrate Israeli airspace over the Golan Heights.

On the other hand, Israel’s regained freedom to act could come up against Iran’s re-established position of dominance on the Syrian front.
The longer/harder Iran & Saudis fight their proxy wars, the better

#14  AFAIC the "Great Game" never left - OWG-NWO or no OWG-NWO, Co-Superpower(s) or no Co-Superpower(s), Multi-polar World or no Multi-polar World, etc. THE "GREAT GAME" WAS, IS, + SHALL ALWAYS BE.

Iff the Bammer + OWG Globies intended for IRAN to be in charge of any ME Global Federal Union(s), Russia aside the Bammer's + Globies' intention is now being challenged by the KSA + Erdoganist Turkey + Others? still to come.

AS I've SAID BEFORE, THE BAMMER + GLOBIES, ETAL ALIGNED HAVE YET TO ANSWER JUST HOW MANY "US-STYLE/PAR" CO-SUPERPOWERS THEY INTEND TO BE IN THIER OWN PARTICULAR WORLD VIEW = OWG-NWO.

THEY HAVE YET TO ANSWER "HOW MUCH IS TOO MUCH"?, HOW FAR IS TO FAR"?, FOR THE US-N-ONLY-THE-US TO BE GIVING UP ITS POWER-N-INFLUENCE/AUTHORITY AS IT DELIBERATELY OR INTENTIONALLY RETREATS OR PULLS BACK ACROSS THE WORLD IN THE NAME OF US-LED ANTI-US OWG-NWO ... ... AND DOING SO WIDOUT BEING EXISTENTIALLY THREATENED BY RIVALS + WANNABES???

We're seeing the "Great Game" most recently wid Co-Superpower CHINA - why should Co-Superpowers Russia + Iran expand their respective spheres of influence but NOT China espec as befitting its Co-Superpower status???

IFF THE GLOBIES INTEND FOR THE CO-SUPEPOWERS INCLUD THE US TO "SHARE THE WORLD", THE US GIVING UP 1/2 OF THE PACIFIC + 1/2 OF THE ATLANTIC IS PROPER BECAUSE A CO-SUPERPOWER IS STILL A SUPERPOWER = "GLOBAL POWER" WID G-L-O-B-A-L INFLUENCE + G-L-O-B-A-L PROJECTION OF POWER.

ABOVE-N-BEYOND BEING A REGIONAL POWER OR EVEN SELECTIVE INTERNATIONAL "GREAT POWER".

BETTER CROSS YOUR FINGERS + HOPE THE GLOBIES DON'T MISCALCULATE.

Two Thai militants nabbed in Yala raid
[Bangkok Post] Two suspected militants wanted for violent incidents were arrested in a raid by a combined military and police force in Yala province early Sunday morning. The 50-strong unit laid siege to several houses in the district after learning that some wanted suspects were hiding there.

Authorities arrested two suspects in the raid, Mustofa Alimama and Kariya Luemaesa. The two are suspected to have been involved in an attack that killed a border patrol police commander in June of 2008. They were also thought to be involved in a gun attack on an armored car on March 6 this year.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Today's Idiot and Darwin Award Nominee
A zoo keeper was killed this morning in the alligator enclosure of the Naples Zoo, while he was attempting to sexually assault a 12 foot long reptile.
YJCMTSU.
According to Captain Perry Henri White, spokesman of the Naples Police Department, 24-year old Jimmy Olsen was engaged in full sexual intercourse with one of the younger reptiles, when he was surprised by one of the larger animals which attacked from behind.
"Superman, save me!"
"Sorry, Jimmy. This time you're on your own."

The young man was caught by the throat by the alligator, who dragged him underwater and drowned him.
Just doing what any father would do if he saw his daughter getting raped. Grab him by the throat, spin him around in the water a few times, and jam his carcass under a tree or something under the water.
Jimmy Olsen's death took place around 6:00 AM this morning, but his disappearance was noticed only an hour later by other employees. They finally discovered his dismembered body floating in the pool of the alligator enclosure around 8:30.
"Where are his . . . pants. Eww."
"The images captured by the security cameras show that Mr Olsen had clearly placed himself in a very vulnerable position," Captain White told reporters. "He had his pants around his knees and was lying down on top of one the animals, with his back to the others. The poor guy didn't stand a chance! We can see him being dragged in the water, then he disappears from sight. He was probably dead within thirty seconds of the attack."
Somehow, I don't think that's going to make Jimmy's parents feel much better.
Jimmy Olsen had been working with the reptiles at Naples Zoo for the last two years, and was considered a reptile specialist. He was killed, by a 24-foot long male alligator named Brutus while he was engaged in sexual intercourse with one of the smaller specimens.

Although Mr. Olsen is the first zoo worker to die while having sexual intercourse with an animal, he is not the first one to be implicated in an incident implicating bestiality.
Sorry, Jimmy. Looks like you'll have to with just the Darwin Award. Although you might get honorable mention considering it was an alligator, after all.
In 2002, three employees of the Columbus zoo were condemned, after it was revealed that the zookeepers allowed people into the zoo after business hours for the purpose of copulation with the animals.
They had quite the brisk business going. Until the IRS came in and shut them down for not paying their taxes.

A comely young 'gator named Brock,
Did cause young Jimmy to gawk.
He found himself smitten,
But by Dad he was bitten,
And then stuffed under a rock.

Hamas commander killed in 10th tunnel cave-in this year
[IsraelTimes] A tunnel collapse in Gazoo killed a commander with Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,’s military wing, the group said Monday, in the 10th such cave-in since the start of 2016.

A brigades front man described the collapse as a "work accident," the Paleostinian Ma’an news agency reported.

The tunnel collapse occurred in the Shejaiyah neighborhood east of Gazoo City, where some of the most intense fighting of the 2014 war between Israel and Gazoo-based fighters took place.

The field commander killed in the collapse was named by the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades as Abd al-Salah al-Butnaji, 36.

The collapse came days after another tunnel collapse near Rafah killed two people. Since January 10 tunnels have caved in and 14 people have been killed, according to Hamas figures.

It is not clear what is causing the collapse of the tunnels or what their purpose is. Israeli officials have warned that Hamas has begun rebuilding its network of subterranean tunnels, some of which could extend into Israeli territory and be used for surprise attacks, as they were in 2014.

Jerusalem says it is working on a secret technological solution to the problem. When asked if Israeli forces were causing the tunnel collapses earlier this year, an IDF commander would only say "God knows."

Egypt has also been working to thwart the construction of smuggling tunnels into the Sinai peninsula by flooding them.

On Thursday, five Paleostinians were rescued after an underground passage leading from the southern Gazoo town of Rafah into neighboring Egypt fell in. Another two were pulled out dead on Sunday.

That incident was caused by Egyptian flooding of the border zone in its campaign to stop smuggling, an official told AFP.

Australia to forcibly deport Hazara asylum seeker to Afghanistan
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] Australia is set to forcibly deport an Afghan man after his last-minute plea to the Australian authorities was rejected to grant him asylum.

The man whose identity has not been disclosed belongs to the minority Hazara ethnic group and reportedly fled Afghanistan in 2012 amid fears of persecution from the anti-government armed bully boys.

The Australian authorities rejected to grant protection to the man in 2013 and his latest plea was refused as the authorities insist they did not believe he would be persecuted on return to Afghanistan.

Officials in the Refugee Review Tribunal of Australia have said "did not believe Hazaras would be persecuted for seeking asylum in the west."

This comes as the large number of the Afghans are fleeing the country amid deteriorating security situation during the recent years.

The Afghan migrants colonists are often risking their lives by travelling through dangerous routes to reach to the European countries who are facing numerous issues, including risk of deportation.

Gen. Raziq: US should force Pakistan to give up support to militants
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The provincial police chief of southern Kandahar province Gen. Abdul Raziq has said the United States should force Pakistain to halt support to the anti-government armed forces of Evil in Afghanistan in a bid to help secure stability in the country.

Insisting on coordinated military operations amid ongoing efforts to revive peace talks, Gen. Raziq said "The United States has enough information regarding Pakistain. We want the United States to increase pressure on Pakistain so that they give up support to the murderous Moslem groups."

"The United States should step in and take actions to dismantle the terrorist safe havens in order to end the ongoing violence in Afghanistan," Gen. Raziq was quoted as saying in a report by Tolo News.

He said the Afghan leaders should continue to their efforts to maintain stability through peace talks but the military should maintain crackdown on hard boys.

Iraq
ISIS returns to Rutba
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The ISIS group on Monday returned to the desert town of Rutba in western Iraq, less than a day after vacating it, officials said.

The mayor of the remote town in Anbar province had warned when ISIS pulled out that the krazed killer organization may just be testing the population’s allegiance.

"Daesh [Islamic State] (ISIS) has re-established its control on the city of Rutba... which it had left the previous day," said a senior officer in the Jazeera Operations Command in charge of the area.

"Daesh [Islamic State] came back from Al-Qaim with armored vehicles and artillery," the officer said, speaking on condition of anonymity
... for fear of being murdered...
"They deployed them on the outskirts of the town and at the main entrances, as if to defend it from any attack by the security forces," he said.

"However,
a lie repeated often enough remains a lie...
Daesh [Islamic State]’s foreign leaders previously based in Rutba did not return," he said.

Rutba lies about 390 kilometers (245 miles) west of Baghdad on the road to Jordan.

Imad Ahmed, the town’s mayor, said "it was like a trick played by ISIS on the locals."

He had told AFP after ISIS’s pullout on Sunday that the jihadist group may be trying to lure out members of the population secretly cooperating with the security forces.

Ahmed and Raja Barakat, the head of the Anbar provincial council’s security committee, confirmed that the foreign ISIS fighters in Rutba had not returned.

Military officials had warned after the ISIS pullback on Sunday that the Iraqi security forces could not move in immediately to take over the town ISIS had abandoned.

Rutba is far from the government forces’ main bases and any large-scale operation would require planning and the approval of the country’s top military leadership.

province of Afghanistan.

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) said at least 21 murderous Moslems of the terror group were also maimed in the kaboom.

A statement by MoD said the murderous Moslems were looking to transport an bomb from Mazdaki area of Achin district to Shedil Bazar of the same district when the explosives went off prematurely.

The loyalists of the ISIS terrorist group are attemtping to continue to their insurgency activities despite the terror group suffered setbacks during the recent months as a result of the coordinated military operations.

The provincial officials in Nangarhar province announced earlier this month that the counter-terrorism operations to suppress the activities of the terror group concluded after 21 days.

The officials further added nearly 300 loyalists of the terror group were killed or maimed during the operations.

The operations were launched by the Afghan cops amid concerns that the loyalists of the terror group are establishing a regional operational base as they were attempting to consolidate operations with the terror group in Syria and Iraq.

The coalition officials estimated around 1,000 to 3,000 Islamic State fighters are stationed in in eastern Afghanistan and are trying to establish a base of operations in the rugged mountains of Nangahar Province.

Obama's Libya Sh*t Show
[Spectator] The reason for the military action, Obama then claimed, was the danger of a humanitarian catastrophe caused by Qaddafi's forces attacking civilians. The real reason was that France's access to Libyan sweet crude was blocked by Qaddafi. Neither France nor England had the ability to undertake the airstrikes necessary to overthrow Qaddafi's government, so U.S. forces were necessary despite the fact that no U.S. national security interest was at stake.

#1  few realize that this “tremendous hatred” is not a product of grievances, political factors, or even an “extremist” interpretation of Islam; rather, it is a direct byproduct of mainstream Islamic teaching. .. Muslims must hate and oppose everyone who is not Muslim, including family members.

It's in the Koran? Who'd have thought (sarc). If one just views who is committing the terrorists acts and atrocities, one would have to conclude the Muslims are certainly living up to doctrine and strictly interpreting their religion. About the only issue one might have is the numbers. Trump cites Pew as being accurate. Others have different numbers. A member of the mainstream media thought the number was 100,000 (this guy must have his head up his arse) Muslims who were prone to violence--others say it is about 7-10% of Muslim followers. Others put it higher if one throws in the sympathizers who are sympathetic towards the terrorists.

#2  I think 40% are passive supporters of the faith but timid beyond words, 30% are feckless and secretly like what the west has to offer, 15% are active financial supports of Wahabbist style actions, and 15% or roughly 255 million actively support expansion of the faith. if 1 percent are willing to engage in violent jihad, a number most would think is to small, that's 2.5 million, or twice the size of the active US military in total.
Get a fricking clue media types.

The Fix Is In: How to Steal a Nomination From Donald Trump

#2  And you still don't believe it's an oligarchy.

Over at Instaprof this posting this morning-

ALLAHPUNDIT: “LENDING” THE REPUBLICAN PARTY TO TRUMP FOR THE NEXT SIX MONTHS MIGHT MEAN YOU NEVER GET IT BACK:

Which is why, if he cleans up [tonight], you’re going to see an explosion of pieces online like the one Ross Douthat published yesterday urging the RNC to deny Trump the nomination by any means necessary — including a rule change before the convention, if need be, that frees up delegates to vote their conscience. (“A man so transparently unfit for office should not be placed before the American people as a candidate for president under any kind of imprimatur save his own.”) A member of the RNC’s Rules Committee is already circulating a letter suggesting, contra all available evidence, that delegates are not bound on the first ballot and haven’t been in 40 years. The price of stealing the nomination from Trump after he’s supposedly clinched it would be sky high.

#4  Due to previous efforts, several states have already on the books laws that prohibit candidates who run in their party's primaries from running in the general election as independent or third party (except maybe New Jersey where their Supreme Court threw out the state constitution to allow the Donks to insert a senatorial candidate just before the election).

#5  I don't know what kind of President Trump would make. I don't really know what kind of person he is. The fact that the elitists in the Republican Party, The Democrat Party, and the liberal press are all playing "pile-on" says that he is making waves with his messaging which at this time seems to be populist and pro-USA. Why is that so threatening to the elites unless they are not for the people or the country?

#7  If a political party pulls shenanigans to steal the nomination from whomever won according to the rules, then they don't deserve to be a party any longer.

This applies to Democrats as well who aren't getting us much press about it but are seeing heat over Sanders likely losing because of superdelagates most people don't really understand.

#9  ..well, super delegates have to go home (to face the pitchforks and tar) cause there's only so many appointed positions (given how many are owed those positions already) that can be handed out quick enough to leave Dodge by sundown.
Posted by: Procopius2k || 03/15/2016 13:16 Comments || Top||

#10  It's real easy to rail against the "system" isn't it? But how many of us know (or more importantly understand) our state party's rules for pledging delegates? At the national convention if a candidate has failed to secure more then a third of pledged delegates it means over two thirds don't support said candidate. Should the nomination be settled by a simple popular vote? Shake your fists at the elites or the establishment if it makes you feel better. But the notion that a nomination would be stolen is disengenuous - at best.

Trump blames supporters of 'communist friend' Sanders for Chicago clashes
[Al Ahram] US Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump on Saturday blamed supporters of Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders
...The only openly Socialist member of the U.S. Senate. Sanders was Representative-for-Life from Vermont until moving to the Senate for the rest of his life in 2006, assuming the seat vacated by Jim Jeffords...
for protests that shut down his reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
... home of Al Capone, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel,...
rally, calling the US senator from Vermont "our communist friend".
Trump's Republican rivals, meanwhile, hurled scorn at the New York billionaire, saying he helped create the increasingly tense atmosphere that is now sweeping the race for the White House with his fiery
...a single two-syllable word carrying connotations of both incoherence and viciousness. A fiery delivery implies an audience of rubes and yokels, preferably forming up into a mob...
rhetoric.

Trump, who has rallies in Ohio and Missouri on Saturday, canceled the Chicago event on Friday after it turned chaotic, with scuffles breaking out between protesters and backers of the real estate magnate.

The festivities follow a slew of recent incidents of violence at Trump rallies, in which protesters and journalists have been punched, tackled and hustled out of venues, raising concerns about degrading security leading into the Nov. 8 election.

"All of a sudden a planned attack just came out of nowhere," Trump said at a rally in Dayton, Ohio, Saturday morning, calling the protest leaders "professional people".

He said his own fans "were taunted, they were harassed by these other people, these other people by the way, some represented Bernie, our communist friend."

"Now really Bernie should tell his people...he should really get up and say to his people 'stop, stop,'" he said.

A front man for Sanders, a self-described Democratic socialist, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Earlier on Saturday Trump called the protesters thugs.

"The organized group of people, many of them thugs, who shut down our First Amendment rights in Chicago, have totally energized America!" Trump said on Twitter.

Rebels reject local ceasefire proposal in Yasinovataya

Russian backed rebels temporarily rejected proposals on Monday for a local ceasefire to allow the restarting of a water filtration plant. The water plant is now under fire because of fighting near Yasinovataya, according to Russian language news accounts.

The water plant, which serves more than 440,000 residences, has been shut down for two days because the plant came under mortar fire. According to data supplied by regnum.ru Russian language news outlet, among the towns in rebel territory affected by the shutdown are Donetsk city, Yasinovataya, Vasilevka and Spartak. Towns in Ukrainian held territory affected by the shutdown include Advievka, Krasnogolovka and Verhnetoretskoe.

The rebels say the mortar fire is coming from the Ukrainian side, while the Ukrainians say it was rebel mortar fire which forced the plant to shut down.

Proposals coming from Ukrainian and Russian military observers with the Joint Center for Coordination and Control, an organization set up by the September, 2014 ceasefire, had been rejected by rebel officials without explanation. The problem with the proposed ceasefire, according to a news account which appeared in tsensor.net, was rebel guarantees for the safety of inspectors for the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) to come to the area.

Ukrainian media charged that rebels had rejected a local ceasefire in the area so they can buy time to hide heavy weapons the Ukrainians say are in the area including 122mm artillery, as well as 82mm and 120mm mortars. All of those weapons are forbidden in the line of contact.

The latest report is that the OSCE have received their safety guarantees and will appear in the area first thing Tuesday morning.

An informal account posted on reserve FSB Colonel Igor Girkin's VKontakte page by a Russian writer identified as Egor Zemtsov tells of Ukrainian attempts to penetrate zones held by rebel troops around Yasinovataya. Artillery duels between the two combatants continue with rebel artillery firing in a counterbattery role. Rebel reports say Ukrainian artillery sited at Opytnoye, Peski and Avdievka are doing most of the firing at Yasinovataya as well as in Donetsk city.

The report says that losses on both sides are increasing. "There are dead and wounded," Zemtsov wrote.

Another report by an unidentified resident, presumably with some military experience said that Ukrainians are jamming rebel radio communications.

A Live Journal account posted by an individual identified as Kharkova said that the Ukrainians have thrown into operations one battalion of the Ukrainian 25th Airmobile Brigade, including one six gun battery of 122mm artillery. The artillery unit, said the report, is expected to go into action on the night of March 13th to March 14th, to support attacks on rebel positions at Yasinovataya.

The battle in Yasinovataya had been running for more than a week when Ukrainian forces, part of the Ukrainian 58th Independent Motorized Rifle Brigade moved three rifle companies (about 350 effectives) and their heavy vehicles into a neutral zone between Gorlovka, which is to the northeast, and Advievka, which is to the southwest, and, according to rebel media, started firing on rebel troops.

Rebel officials have characterized the move as a "creeping offensive", a slow moving operation meant to apply pressure on rebel forces to back away from their positions.

As rebel reports previously established, rebel forces held a line along a road junction which splits into two roads: highway E50, which runs into Gorlovka, and H20, which communicates to points northwest, including into Ukrainian held territory. The result has been massive auto and foot traffic tie ups in rebel held territory.

The rebels have held a checkpoint near the road junction which has been under mortar and direct gun fire since last week. That checkpoint was shut down several days ago. Now, local residents have no road to travel into Gorlovka, and those who wish to travel to Konstantinovka, which is northwest of Gorlovka, must take a longer, more circuitous route.

According to a news account in Gorlovka Pravda, automobile traffic between Donetsk city and Gorlovka is severely restricted, while foot traffic to Gorlovka, which has to go around from the contested E50/H20 road junction, involves more delays. The report says that people traveling by road are being forced to travel into Lugansk which entails further delays through more rebel checkpoints.

Ukrainian Ceasefire Violations

Rebel military officials say that Ukrainian forces have fired on rebel troops nearly 300 times in the last 24 hours, with nearly all the activity concentrated in Yasinovataya and in western Doentsk city. According to official rebel reports, Ukrainian forces fired on rebel positions near Yasinovataya using mortar and tank gunfire.

According to a separate rebel defense ministry news release, Ukrainian forces fired into the northern village of Zaistevo, which is a suburb of Gorlovka, using 82mm mortars and small arms fire. According to Gorlovka Pravda, a total of 10 residences were damaged by the nighttime shelling, with two destroyed. The firing came from three directions, according to the Gorlovka Pravda news report.

Two unidentified rebel soldiers were wounded in the shelling, according to Donetsk ministry of defense officials.

Rebel officials charged the the Ukrainian ministry of defense is deliberately falsely stated casualties in the fighting at Yasinovataya, now standing, according to rebel estimates, at 31 dead and 72 wounded.

Although officially, rebel military officials have not admitted to any combat deaths, unofficially rebel troops are suffering from mortar and sniper fire, with at least two dead and three wounded in Yasinovataya alone on Monday, with hints of more.

Palestinian-American member of ISIS surrenders: Iraqi general
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] A Paleostinian-American member of ISIS on Monday gave himself up to an Iraqi Kurdish military unit in the country"s north, an Iraqi Kurdish general said.
Cut his head off.
The circumstances of the surrender were not fully disclosed but it marked a rare instance in which an ISIS fighter voluntarily gave himself up to Iraqi or Kurdish forces in Iraq. In neighboring Syria, meanwhile, Syrian Kurdish fighters battling the ISIS, have told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named that they are seeing an increase in the number of ISIS members surrendering following recent territorial losses.

Maj. Gen. Feisal Helkani of the Iraqi Kurdish peshmerga forces, which are playing a key role along with the Iraqi military in battling the bad boy ISIS group, identified the individual who surrendered as Mohammed Jamal Amin.

Helkani said the man is a Paleostinian-American who has been fighting with ISIS in Iraq and who surrendered on Monday morning near the town of Sinjar, which was retaken by Iraqi forces from ISIS gunnies late last year.

According to Helkani, Amin was carrying with him a large amount of cash, three cell phones and three forms of identification, including a U.S. driving license. The ISIS fighter is currently being held by the peshmerga troops for interrogation, Helkani added.

American ISIS member mistakenly walks into Peshmerga hands on way to Turkey
Whoops!
[Rudaw] The Kurdish Peshmerga captured an American member of the Islamic State (ISIS) on the Shingal front on Monday, said a local commander.

Muhammad Jamal Amin is a Virginia-born American citizen of a Palestinian father and Iraqi mother from Mosul.

According to the Peshmerga commander of the Shingal front who didn’t want to be named, the ISIS militant had mistaken the Peshmerga territory for the Turkish border.
Map reading is the next badge he wants to earn. Followed by orienteering.
The commander said that Amin had entered Syria from Turkey two months ago from where he had traveled to Mosul.

On his way back to Turkey he had mistakenly walked into the Peshmerga hands.

The Peshmerga commander said that a number of cell phones, some money and ID cards were seized from the militant.

The Peshmerga fired on him before he reached their base and later detained him.
Drain him dry, then cut his head off.
More from The Times of Israel:
The man had been “lurking near the peshmerga lines” since late Sunday night, according to Maj. Gen. Feisal Helkani. Helkani said his troops first tried to shoot the man, assuming he was a would-be suicide bomber.

“Then in the morning, he walked across and gave himself up,” Helkani said.

A photograph of the IS fighter’s driving license from Virginia was posted on social media sites, identifying him as Mohamad Jamal Khweis, 27, from Alexandria, Virginia. The discrepancy between the fighter’s family name on the license and the one provided by the Kurdish general could not immediately be reconciled. His first name was also spelled differently.
Which led to this discovery:
Parents of IS Fighter Thought He Was in Canada

[VOANews] ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA — Mohamed Khweis’s parents were awakened Monday morning by a VOA reporter and cameraman at the family’s townhouse in Alexandria, Virginia.

"We thought he was in Canada lately,” said a woman who identified herself as Khweis's mother. “We also know he has been traveling to Turkey.”

But the parents had not been in contact with the son for a long time. They had no idea he was in Iraq or had ties with any extremist groups.

When shown a published photo of Khweis in Kurdish custody , the family said they were not certain it was him.

“The guy in the picture is not my brother,” insisted Tamer Khweis, a college student and a younger brother of Mohammed Khweis.

“There are similarities, but I can’t confirm because the picture isn’t clear,” his mother said.

Khweis' personal belongings might have been stolen and have ended up in Iraq, the family suggested.
The pre-ISIS Mohammed Khweis must have worn out his mirror, he was so carefully groomed, according to the photo at the link. The picture shown from the Peshmerga is not nearly so clear.

Bahrain deports several Lebanese for Hezbollah links
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Bahrain on Monday announced it had deported several Lebanese for Hezbollah links, the Gulf state's Interior Ministry said in a tweet on Monday.

The move came after Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
on Sunday said it will deport anyone sympathizing with the myrmidon Hezbollah group after the Arab League
...an organization of Arabic-speaking states with 22 member countries and four observers. The League tries to achieve Arab consensus on issues, which usually leaves them doing nothing but a bit of grimacing and mustache cursing...
declared the movement as "terrorist," Al Arabiya News Channel reported.

An Interior Ministry statement carried by the state news agency SPA said that Saudis and expatriates would be subjected to "severe penalties" under the kingdom's regulations and anti-terrorism laws.

The Arab League on Friday formally branded Hezbollah a terrorist organization, a move that raises concerns of deepening divisions among Arab countries and ramps up the pressure on the Shiite group, which is fighting on the side of Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Despoiler of Deraa...
in Syria.

The Arab League’s decision followed the blacklisting of Hezbollah by Gulf states.

Shiite-led uprising
Dozens of people have been put on trial and handed lengthy jail terms in Sunni-ruled Bahrain - shaken by unrest since it quelled a month-long Shiite-led uprising demanding reforms five years ago.

The first defendant was tossed in the slammer

in the Shiite village of Sitra where police found "firearms and explosives" in his apartment, said prosecutor Ahmed al-Hammadi.

He said the man was planning to use the weapons to carry out a "terrorist" plot.

The other two were placed in durance vile

for their involvement in the same case.

Bahrain last week placed in durance vile

three people for life and sentenced another to 15 years for attacking a bus during a protest in a Shiite village two years ago.

Tiny but strategic Bahrain, which is connected to regional Sunni powerhouse Saudi Arabia by a causeway, lies across the Gulf from Shiite Iran and is home to the US Fifth Fleet.

Despite the crackdown on the 2011 uprising, protesters continue to clash frequently with police in Shiite villages outside the capital Manama.

Talking points sheet for Trump protesters found at rally
[BizPacReview] A memo detailing talking points presumably geared toward protesters attending a Donald Trump campaign rally has surface on the Internet.

Posted under a Twitter account belonging to Olaff Jenkins, the caption says it was found at a Trump rally. The memo is dated Saturday, March 12, which is the day Secret Service had to rush the stage in Dayton, Ohio, after a protester tried to gain access while Trump was speaking.

It’s not clear who produced the talking points, or if they’re even legitimate, but protesters are instructed to identify themselves as a "multi-racial group of faith leaders, students, union and community members who are committed to non-violence."

The intended goal, as stated, was for members to "take action consistent with their conscience."

As for their purpose, several reasons for protesting are listed, including being 'alarmed by the racism and hatred that Trump is engineering.

Arabia
Soddy backed forces exploit gains in Taiz
TAIZ: Yemeni forces allied to internationally recognized President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi began consolidating over military and government buildings in regions liberated from militia groups in the southwestern province of Taiz, Al Arabiya said on Sunday.

Taiz’s Mayor Ali Al-Muammari said the Popular Resistance Units started handing over freed buildings to the pro-Hadi army.

Medical supplies provided by Saudi Arabia have also reached the main Al-Thawra hospital in Taiz for the first time since last year, a medic at the facility said.

The news comes after spokesman for the Saudi-led coalition Brig.
Gen. Ahmed Al-Assiri announced on Saturday that pro-Hadi forces have claimed control over the interior of the city, vowing that the Iran-backed Houthi militias, who control the capital Sanaa and other areas, would be dislodged.

Meanwhile, Saudi-led helicopters attacked Al-Qaeda militants in Aden in an effort to dislodge them from a stronghold in the southern port city, a security official said on Sunday.

Witnesses and medics said Apache helicopters from the Saudi-led coalition struck armored vehicles and a government compound used by the militants in Al-Mansoura district, a stronghold in north Aden. Coalition aircraft provided support and hit a military convoy that was trying to bring reinforcements to the rebels, the sources said.

Medics said a total of 18 people have been killed — 17 suspected militants and one civilian bystander — and at least 23 civilians and militants were wounded. Three members of the security forces were also injured.

Security forces cordoned off an area of Al-Mansoura district where dozens of suspected militants are believed to be holed up, while warplanes from the Saudi-led coalition dropped leaflets on the area telling residents to stay home and report any militants to authorities.

A tenuous calm in the district was broken occasionally with bursts of gunfire. The city’s governor said the operation was the second phase of a government campaign to restore state control over the city, the temporary seat of the Yemeni government.

Africa North
Tunisia pays price as ISIS violence spills over from Libya
The signal to attack came from the mosque, sending dozens of fighters storming through the Tunisian town of Ben Guerdan to hit army and police posts in street battles that lit the dawn sky with tracer bullets.

Militants used a megaphone to chant "God is Great," and reassure residents they were Daesh, there to save the town near the Libyan border from the "tyrant" army. Most were Tunisians themselves, with local accents, and even some familiar faces, officials and witnesses to Monday's attack said.

Hours later, 36 militants were dead, along with 12 soldiers and seven civilians, in an assault authorities described as an attempt by Daesh to carve out terrain in Tunisia.

Whether Daesh aimed to hold territory as they have in Iraq, Syria and Libya, or intended only to dent Tunisia's already battered security, is unclear and the group has yet to officially claim the attack.

But as fuller details of the Ben Guerdan fighting emerge, the incident highlights the risk Tunisia faces from home-grown militants drawn to Iraq, Syria and Libya, and who have threatened to bring their war back home.

Despite Tunisian forces' preparations to confront returning fighters, and their defeat of militants in Ben Guerdan, Monday's assault shows how the country is vulnerable to violence spilling over from Libya as Daesh expands there.

Authorities are still investigating the Ben Guerdan attack. But most of the militants appear to have been already in the town, with a few brought in from Libya. Arms caches were deposited around the city before the assault.

"Most of them were from Ben Guerdan, we know their faces. They knew where to find the house of the counter-terrorist police chief," one witness, Sabri Ben Saleh, told. Troops have killed 14 more militants around Ben Guerdan since Monday. Others have been arrested and more weapons seized.

Officials say they are still determining if the militants had been in Libya before or had returned from fighting with Daesh overseas. But that such a large number of militants and arms were in Tunisia is no surprise. After its revolt in 2011 to topple Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, Tunisia has struggled with growing militancy.

More than 3,000 Tunisians have left to fight with Daesh in Iraq and Syria, according to government estimates. Tunisian security sources say many are with Daesh in Libya.

But the scale of Monday's attack was unprecedented. The militants were well-organised, handing out weapons to their fighters from a vehicle moving through the city, with knowledge of the town and its military barracks. "We came across a group of terrorists with their Kalashnikovs, and they told us: 'Don't worry we are not here to target you. We are the Daesh and we are here for the tyrants in the army,'" said Hassein Taba, a local resident.

The attack tests Tunisia at a difficult time. After Daesh violence last year, the tourism industry that represents seven per cent of the economy is struggling to tempt visitors to return. With its new constitution, free elections and secular history, Tunisia is a target for jihadists looking to upset a young democracy just five years after the overthrow of dictator Ben Ali.

"The battle of Ben Guerdane in Tunisia, 20 miles from the Libyan border ... is proof enough that the Daesh has cells far and wide," said Geoff Porter, at North Africa Risk Consulting. "But what these cells can reliably do ... and how they are directed by Daesh leadership in Sirte, let alone in Iraq and Syria, is not known."

Syrian air force hit Palmyra with barrel bombs
[ARA News] HOMS – Syrian regime’s air force hit the ancient city of Palmyra in the country’s central province of Homs with a number of barrel bombs, local sources reported on Monday.

Dozens of civilian casualties were reported in the bombardment, which also caused a massive damage to the residential buildings in the historical city.

Speaking to ARA News in Palmyra, media activist Amer Musa said that the pro-regime helicopters dropped on Monday dozens of barrel bombs on the al-Joumiya al-Gharbiya neighborhood in western Palmyra city.

“Dozens of people were killed and injured in the strikes,” Musa reported.

The attack caused a huge fire in the al-Joumiya al-Gharbiya and destroyed most of the residential buildings across the neighborhood.

ARA News could not verify the exact number of casualties in the attack.

“Palmyra had been evacuated of most of its residents due to the mounting violence,” the source reported, pointing out that the majority of the city’s population fled towards rural areas, especially the Sukhna townــwhich shelters thousands of displaced people.

In the meantime, Syrian army forces, supported by Russian air cover, continued combatting ISIS insurgents in an attempt to regain ancient Palmyra from the group.

The historical city of Palmyra has been under the control of ISIS since May, when the group stormed headquarters of the Syrian army and seized the whole city subsequent to fierce clashes.

Black Pastor nails it at Trump rally, crowd goes wild
CLEVELAND, Ohio (INTELLIHUB) -- A Pastor by the name of Darrell Scott, of New Spirit Revival Center Ministries, spoke in front of a vivacious crowd at a Donald Trump rally Saturday, and gave praise to the Trumpster.

The Pastor said he met with Trump for the first time about five-years ago and explained after the meeting all of his "preconceptions of Trump were erased," as Trump was not the person the media made him out to be.

The Pastor said during the meeting Trump said he was concerned for the direction the country is heading in and asked the Pastor and others to pray for him.

Trump is a "humble man," the Pastor told the cheering crowd, "[...] he is very respectful to clergy."

'We discussed just about everything during the meeting.'

#1  But I read the Yahoo news piece on the Cleveland rally and it's all negative. Nothing about any pastor supporting Trump, let alone a black pastor. Clinton: ‘We’re Going to Put a Lot of Coal Miners and Coal Companies Out of Business’
[FREEBEACON] Hillary Clinton
... sometimes described as For a good time at 3 a.m. call Hillary and at other times as Mrs. Bill, never as Another John Foster Dulles ...
said that her policies would "put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business" during Sunday night’s Ohio town hall on CNN.

Clinton was asked by TVOne’s Roland Martin about her Democratic primary success in states that tend to vote Republican in general elections, and he wondered how she could carry such states once matched up with a Republican rather than a far-left candidate like Sen. Bernie Sanders
...The only openly Socialist member of the U.S. Senate. Sanders was Representative-for-Life from Vermont until moving to the Senate for the rest of his life in 2006, assuming the seat vacated by Jim Jeffords...
(I., Vt.).

Clinton has struggled against Sanders in states that voted for Barack Obama

in 2012, losing such contests as Michigan, New Hampshire, Colorado, Minnesota and Maine.

"I’m the only candidate which has a policy about how to bring economic opportunity using clean renewable energy as the key into coal country, because we’re going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business, right, Tim? and we’re going to make it clear that we don’t want to forget those people," Clinton said.

"Those people labored in those mines for generations, losing their health, often losing their lives to turn on our lights and power our factories. Now we’ve got to move away from coal and all the other fossil fuels, but I don’t want to move away from the people who did the best they could to produce the energy that we relied on."

Clinton went on to say she had put forward specific plans on how to incentivize more jobs and invest more in poorer communities.
Some additional Obama regime unfinished business. It won't take long, there can't be many remaining.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran missile tests don't breach nuclear deal: EU
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Iran’s recent ballistic missile tests are not in violation of its nuclear deal and the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
is not considering sanctions at this stage, EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini said Monday (Mar 14).

Mogherini however warned that last week’s missile tests, which Tehran insists are not aimed at developing nuclear weapons capability, could raise tensions in an already volatile region.

La Belle France had warned on Sunday that it risked new sanctions as a result of the tests, but Mogherini said that was a matter for the UN Security Council, which met to discuss the issue on Monday.

"This is indeed also in our view not a violation of the (nuclear deal) as such," Mogherini said after meeting the foreign ministers of the 28 EU nations in Brussels.

"If there is a violation of UN Security Council resolutions, this should be discussed in the appropriate UN bodies and not necessarily in the European Union Foreign Affairs Council."

Russia had earlier Monday said that it opposed any sanctions on Iran over the ballistic missile tests.

Mogherini said however that "we expect Iran to fulfil all its international obligations".

She added: "The point is we all see this as a major problematic element when it comes to regional relations... this would increase tensions in the Middle East at a moment when tensions are definitely not needed."

Mogherini announced earlier that she would go to Iran next month to build on the nuclear deal, which she played a key role in securing.

Mogherini last visited Iran in July shortly after world powers -- Britannia, China, La Belle France, the United States, Russia plus Germany -- agreed to lift sanctions in return for Tehran accepting strict curbs on its nuclear programme.

"My next visit will take place on the 16th of April," she said as she went into the foreign ministers’ meeting.

"We will discuss with the ministers on which grounds, on which issues and sectors to re-engage so as to reopen full relations" with Iran, she said.

Under the July accord, the lifting of the nuclear sanctions takes place progressively in line with Tehran meeting its commitments.

A key provision allows the sanctions to be restored or "snap-back" immediately if Iran is found in breach of the agreement.

Mogherini has been anxious to return to Iran to build on July accord momentum, both for the sake of bilateral ties but also in the hope of getting Tehran’s help in resolving the Syrian and other regional conflicts.

Iraq
Engineers race to stop collapse of massive Mosul dam
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Italian engineers hired to help prevent a catastrophic collapse of Iraq’s largest hydro-electric dam will need at least two months to assess the structure before starting major maintenance work, a Water Resources Ministry front man told Rooters.

Mahdi Rasheed Mahdi said it might be six months before work began on the djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
dam as Italia’s Trevi Group needed to bring in specialist equipment to plug gaps caused by erosion.

The dam, near the northern city of Mosul, was built in the 1980s on a friable gypsum layer on the Tigris and needs constant repairs to avoid disaster.

Maintenance work was disrupted for two weeks in August 2014 when the dam was captured by Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. gunnies seeking to carve a caliphate in captured territory in Iraq and Syria.

The dam’s seizure prompted concerns that irreparable damage to the structure’s foundations may have been caused. Collapse would devastate Mosul and other cities along the river, including the Iraqi capital Baghdad, and cause hundreds of thousands of casualties.

"They need two to six months and this was a request by the company," Mahdi said by telephone. "The company needs time to import their equipment and this definitely takes time. We have already anticipated this."

Mahdi said there was no imminent threat of collapse as some maintenance work was being carried out but more was needed to stabilize the structure. The Trevi contract would not provide a permanent solution, he added.

The dam was retaken by Kurdish Peshmerga fighters with the help of US-led coalition air strikes, and Iraq signed a 273 million euro (around $300 million), 18-month deal with Trevi to reinforce and maintain the 3.6 km-long (2.2 miles) structure.

Italia has said it planned to send 450 troops to protect the dam, which is close to territory held by ISIS fighters.

ISIS executes 1 in Deir ez-Zor for treason
[ARA News] ERBIL – Extremists of the Islamic State (ISIS) executed and crucified a Syrian man in the eastern city of Deir ez-Zor after accusing him of supporting “a hostile party”, activists reported on Monday.

“The 22-year-old victim was arrested at a restaurant in central Deir ez-Zor for talking about the Kurdish advance towards Deir ez-Zor and saying ‘Kurds are coming’,” local media activist Ahmed Ramadan told ARA News.

This comes as the Kurdish YPG fighters and allied units of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continue their progress against the radical group in northeastern Syria.

“He was arrested by the ISIS-led Islamic Police and was referred to the Sharia Court which ordered the immediate execution and crucification of the young man,” Ramadan reported.

Pro-ISIS Sharia officials accused the young man of supporting the Kurdish forces that are considered “a hostile party” by the radical group.

“The man was executed and crucified in front of hundreds of people in the city center,” an eyewitness confirmed to ARA News, speaking on condition of anonymity.

In the meantime, Kurdish YPG fighters and allied SDF units, supported by a western air cover, continued their military operations against ISIS militants in the town of Markadah, which is located on the border of Deir ez-Zor province.

ISIS sex slaves forced to take birth control so they can be repeatedly raped
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Death Eaters of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group are forcing their sex slaves to take birth control so they can repeatedly rape them, it has been reported.

The distressing move by ISIS fighters followed by a ruling by the terror group which prevents them to rape their slaves after they become pregnant.

The ruling by the terror group also prevents its fighters to take a woman or girl as a slave if they are carrying another man’s child.

According to reports, the birth control methods the sex slaves are forced to take includes birth control pills and injections.

"Every day, I had to swallow one in front of him. He gave me one box per month," one of the 37 former sex slaves told the New York Times
...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...
during an interview.

She added "When I ran out, he replaced it. When I was sold from one man to another, the box of pills came with me."

The report further added that the owners of the sex slaves provided the box of birth control as proof the women are not pregnant when they were selling their slaves to other fighters.

Reports have also emerged that one pregnant woman was forced to take abortion pills, while another pregnant slave was repeatedly punched in the stomach after refusing to have an abortion.

Most Isis sex slaves are from the thousands of Yazidi women captured when Isis overran Mount Sinjar in Iraq in 2014, according to The Independent.

Yazidi women who beat feet from Isis have said as many as 3,400 Yazidi women and kiddies are still being held hostage by the group.

Isis leaders previously issued a fatwa detailing how and when its fighters could rape female sex slaves, which described the practise as "one of the inevitable consequences of jihad".

Beebs & Comedy Channel: What will Americans do if Trump wins?
[BBC] Donald Trump continued his march towards the Republican Party nomination in the US by taking three more primaries. And where there's a Trump win, there's a social media reaction.
Yeah, but he lost Wyoming...
This time it was #ifTrumpwins that gathered momentum, bringing hope and levity to the serious world of campaign politics.
If Trump wins he'll discover the job's tougher than he anticipated. He'll also have to keep his life insurance paid for when some professional advocate of love and tolerance shoots him, probably with an illegally acquired AK...
Oh, so he's gonna keep Biden as vice-president?
Or, that was the intention when Comedy Central's Midnight programme incited its 500,000 followers to play with the hashtag.
Oh, wow. Comedy Central. That'll give us an unbiased view.
Over 10,500 tweets mention both @midnight and #iftrumpwins, making up nearly 40% of the original tweets on the hashtag. The trend peaked at 7,468 tweets in the hour 0500-0600GMT with the fearful perspective of Dubai-based EDM producer Shuja Rabbani a top tweet.
... predicting WW3 will start in the Middle East, all because of The Donald.....
Two tweets from @PoliticsJim helped drive the trend, garnering more than 6,000 retweets between them. Both involved satirising Trump's campaign slogan of "Make America Great Again".
Four words. Kinda hard to garble them, but they tried...
One involves a playful take on popular American painter and TV personality Bob Ross, whose PBS programme The Joy of Painting brought him worldwide fame in the 1980s and 1990s.
The National Debt becomes a "money tree" with Trump supporters as birds. I guess they'll communicate with each other on their Obamaphones.
Another saw Jim subverting the slogan with cake, transforming it to "Bake America Cake Again" - a sentiment all Americans passionate about patisserie can get behind, regardless of politics.
It's so stoopid it's meaningless. Perhaps a Marie Antoinette reference? After Michelle and her quarterly vacations to places none of us can afford to go anymore?
Judging by the spread of branded wine, water and meat Trump brought to his post-victory presser, no one is going to go hungry if he wins.
That was probably from some press guy, gnawing the hand that fed him/her/it...
While we're on hunger... Well done to Doomsdavid for getting a topical twist into the #ifTrumpwins + Hunger Games formula.
"Steak to the winner of the hunger games." I went to the grocery store recently, now that I can drive again. I couldn't afford steak. A decent cut was going for $16 or so per pound. I still grilled steaks periodically when the current Emperor took office.
And for those of you playing along who don't like cake or steak, there's Keem's very American offer in the event that we find ourselves writing "President Trump"...
The writer suggests he (the writer, not Trump) will buy everyone a new car. His handle is Keem. Remember that so you can claim the keys to your new DeSoto or Studebaker, or maybe a Rambler American.
This is the latest example of the way in which digital media is now playing its part the Presidential race, following on from Super Tuesday's spike in searches for "move to Canada", which of course got another outing.
Meaning all the commentary has been juvenile, spiteful, and trite. That announces the death of Twitter, doesn't it?

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Broken Clock: ISIS frees 19 hostages
[ARA News] QAMISHLI – Radicals of the Islamic State (ISIS) released 19 Yezidi hostages who had been abducted during the group’s major attack on the district of Shingal in northern Iraq, Kurdish officials confirmed on Monday.
The check cleared. No big party this time, but at least the lads will finally get paid.
“The hostages were held by the terror group in the Syrian ISIS-controlled city of Raqqa. They arrived in the Region earlier this week,” said Hussein Qaedi, head of the abductees affairs office in the city of Duhok, Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

The Kurdish official pointed out that the majority of the released hostages were children and women, while there remained thousands of Yezidis in the group’s prisons.

Speaking to ARA News, Rotik Shemmo, a displaced Yezidi based in Tirbespi northeast Syria, said that everyone disappointed the Yezidis during the ISIS-led offensive on Shingal.

“If there was a force deterring terrorists, they wouldn’t have been able to kill hundreds and abduct thousands of our [Yezidi] people,” he said.

“We are highly concerned about the fate of the remaining abductees. We are afraid that ISIS terrorists would execute them,” a Yezidi rights activist told ARA News, speaking on condition of anonymity.

“ISIS took advantage of the security vacuum around the Sinjar mountain, which enabled the barbaric group enter the region, killing, abducting and displacing thousands, including women and children,” he stressed.

In August 2014, ISIS extremists had taken control of Shingal, causing a mass displacement of nearly 400,000 people to Duhok and Erbil, in Iraqi Kurdistan. Tens of thousands of Yezidis remained trapped in Mount Sinjar, suffering mass killings, kidnappings and rape.

Subsequent to the liberation of the area at the hands of the Kurdish forces last November, thousands of Yezidi civilians returned home.

The return of the displaced Yezidi families followed intensive operations by the Peshmerga to dismantle land-mines and explosive devices left by ISIS militant fighters before their withdrawal from Shingal in November.

However, Yezidi civilians remain concerned about their safety, especially after witnessing several infiltration attempts by ISIS militants into Shingal over the past four months.

Also, after ISIS departure, the Kurdish forces have discovered several mass graves in Shingal. Most of the victims were women and children from the Yezidi minority. Specialized teams, that have been inspecting traces of the people disappeared during the group’s rule over the Yezidi-populated region, have so far discovered five mass graves belonging to Yezidi civilians, according to human rights activists and Peshmerga officials who spoke to ARA News.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Putin: Russian forces to withdraw from Syria
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] President Vladimir Putin
...Second and fourth President and sixth of the Russian Federation and the first to remain sober. Putin is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from polonium poisoning. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to Putin. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead...
said on Monday "the main part" of Russian armed forces in Syria would start to withdraw, and instructed his diplomats to step up the push for peace as UN-mediated talks resumed in Geneva on ending the five-year war.

Syria announced Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Oppressor of the Syrians and the Lebs...
had agreed on the "reduction" of Russian forces in a telephone call with Putin. Western diplomats urged caution and the anti-Assad opposition expressed bafflement, with a front man saying "nobody knows what is in Putin’s mind."

The Kremlin also said Putin and Syria leader Bashir al-Assad agreed on the withdrawal of Russian forces from Syria in a phone call.

Russia’s military intervention in Syria in September helped to turn the tide of war in Assad’s favor after months of gains in western Syria by rebel fighters, who were aided by foreign military supplies including U.S.-made anti-tank missiles.

Putin’s announcement - made without any advance warning to the United States - dropped out of the blue.

At a meeting with his defence and foreign ministers, Putin said Russian forces had largely fulfilled their objectives in Syria. But he gave no deadline for the completion of the withdrawal and said forces would remain at a seaport and airbase in Syria’s Latakia province.

"The task that was set before our defence ministry and armed forces has as a whole been completed and so I order the defence ministry to from tomorrow start the withdrawal of the main part of our military contingents from the Syrian Arab Republic," Putin told Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu in televised comments.

Putin also asked his foreign ministry to intensify Russia’s role in brokering a peace deal in Syria.

The Russian leader said Moscow’s work in the country had created the necessary conditions for the grinding of the peace processor.
The Russian ambassador to the United Nations
...a formerly good idea gone bad...
said Monday that Russia’s decision to begin withdrawing from Syria will help Moscow’s push to reach a political settlement.

"Our diplomacy has received marching orders to intensify our efforts to achieve a political settlement in Syria," Ambassador Vitaly Churkin told news hounds ahead of a UN Security Council meeting on Syria.

Peshmerga’s only goal is to fight ISIS
Video report at the link
ERBIL – Since 2012, the KRG’s Peshmerga forces have been training thousands of Syrian Kurds –known as ‘Peshmerga of Rojava’– to send them to Syria. “They don’t want to fight Kurds, they only want to fight ISIS,” Major General Bahjat Taymas from the Kurdish Zerevani Peshmerga forces told ARA News.

The Kurdish Zerevani forces that belong to the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) in Iraqi Kurdistan took the responsibility of training Syrian Kurds. “It started with one battalion. The goal was to send them to Rojava [Kurdish areas of Syria], but until now they couldn’t get there,” Taymas said.

Last Friday, a ceremony was held in Duhok to celebrate the four-year anniversary of the establishment of the Syrian Kurdish Sun Brigades that are part of the Peshmerga forces and fight ISIS in Iraqi Kurdistan.

Female police officer shot dead in Kandahar province
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] A female police officer was rubbed out by unknown gunnies in southern Kandahar province of Afghanistan, local officials said.

A local security official confirmed the incident and said the police officer was working with the provincial passport department.

The official speaking on the condition of anonymity further added that the dear departed officer has been identified as Fawzia.

Kandahar, the birth place of the Taliban group, has been witnessing relative peace during the recent months, however the anti-government armed turbans have recently stepped up insurgency activities in parts of this province.

Unknown gunnies rubbed out two de-minders in a similar attack in Maiwand district of Kandahar province earlier this month.

Meanwhile,

the Afghan intelligence operatives foiled a coordinated suicide car kaboom in the quiet provincial capital city of Kandahar by arresting four groups of turbans earlier this month.

The anti-government armed Lion of Islam groups including the Talibs have not commented regarding the reports so far.

Syrian protesters ransack al-Nusra HQ in Idlib
[ARA News] HOMS – Hundreds of people took to the street in the Syrian northwestern Idlib province on Monday, denouncing what they described “aggression of the Nusra Front (al-Qaeda branch in Syria) against civilians and moderate rebels”.

Local sources confirmed that angry protesters have broken into Nusra headquarters in the town of Maarat al-Numan in Idlib province and burned a few buildings.

Speaking to ARA News in Maarat al-Numan, rights activist Samer Idlibi said that the protest came two days after the Nusra insurgents stormed headquarters of the Division 13— which operates under the banner of the Syrian Free Army (FSA)—where clashes claimed lives of dozens of fighters on both sides.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel told police not to arrest violent, anti-Trump rioters, cop sources say
[BizPacReview] The protests which broke out ahead of Donald Trump’s Chicago campaign rally last week quickly became violent riots when Bernie Sanders supporters and members of the Black Lives Matter movement joined forces to shut down the event.

According to Ann Coulter, sources inside the Chicago Police Department were apparently told by Chicago Mayor and notorious liberal Rahm Emanuel not to arrest any of the violent rioters at the Trump rally.

ISIS using more child soldiers as fighters quit
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] ISIS is relying more heavily on child soldiers as growing numbers of fighters desert the Death Eater group, the United States said Monday.

That may indicate the group’s leaders are "struggling with their ability to recruit and retain manpower," State Department front man John Kirby told news hounds during a daily briefing.

He would not confirm reports that Kurdish Peshmerga forces in northern Iraq had captured a US citizen who defected from ISIS.

"We are working closely with the Iraqi and Kurdish authorities to try to get more information to confirm the veracity of these reports," Kirby said.

However,
alcohol has never solved anybody's problems. But then, neither has milk...
"more and more" defectors are leaving ISIS’s ranks, prompting the group to rely more heavily on child soldiers, the front man added.

"Originally, they would rely on children for intelligence streams, getting information... and then using them to conduct suicide kabooms, which they still do," Kirby said.

"Now we get more reports about them using children in actual engagements side by side with adult fighters," he added.

"All those are good indications they are struggling with their ability to recruit and retain manpower."

However,
alcohol has never solved anybody's problems. But then, neither has milk...
the United States still considers the threat from ISIS "very seriously," Kirby said. "They are still very lethal."

US forces have led a military coalition of 60 countries fighting ISIS for nearly two years.

The Death Eater groups controls vast areas of territory in Iraq and Syria.

Russia has announced it would begin withdrawing its forces from Syria, saying its bombing campaign had helped "radically change the situation in the fight against terrorism."
