Russian 'Rambo' wipes out ISIS thugs by calling airstrike on HIMSELF when surrounded by Jihadi forces
A brave Russian special forces soldier who was on a Rambo-style one man mission to hunt for ISIS militants died a "hero" after calling in an airstrike on HIMSELF.

The fearless officer was directing Russian airstrikes at Islamic State targets near the ancient city of Palmyra in Syria when he was surrounded by terrorists.

Not prepared to go down without a fight, he ordered military officials to drop bombs on his location and died in the blast.

A spokesperson for the Russian military said: "An officer of Russian special operations forces was killed near Palmyra while carrying out a special task to direct Russian airstrikes at Islamic State group targets."

"The officer was carrying out a combat task in Palmyra area for a week, identifying crucial IS targets and passing exact coordinates for strikes with Russian planes.

"The officer died as a hero, he drew fire onto himself after being located and surrounded by terrorists."

Moscow has been tight-lipped about having any soldiers on the ground throughout its campaign in Syria that began on September 30.

Last week IS-linked media said that five Russian special forces were killed near Palmyra, publishing pictures from their cellphones and a video showing a bloodied corpse.

However Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov at the time denied that Russian officers were participating in the advance on Palmyra, saying that "the advance is carried out by contingents of the Syrian army".

Syrian troops on Thursday entered the ancient city of Palmyra, which had been controlled by IS since last May, and clashes were ongoing in the city.

Backed by Russian warplanes and allied militia on the ground, the Syrian army advanced into Palmyra after launching a desert offensive early this month, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The defence ministry in Moscow said Russian aircraft carried out 146 strikes on "terrorist targets" in the Palmyra area between Wednesday and last Sunday.

Obama Has His Say on Communism, Socialism and Capitalism-They're All the Same
Barack Obama told an audience of Argentinian youth that the differences between socialism and capitalism make interesting conversation but just pick whatever works. The ideological-left US president suddenly doesn’t have an affinity for ideology.

He said in the past there was a sharp division between communists, socialists and capitalists but that is merely an intellectual argument and it’s not so today.

The Marxist in the White House is erasing the lines between two dangerous ideologies and the one that made the US great, just as he erased our borders. This is a man who would be at home in communist China.

"So often in the past there has been a division between left and right, between capitalists and communists or socialists, and especially in the Americas, that’s been a big debate," Obama said at the Buenos Aires town hall.

"Those are interesting intellectual arguments, but I think for your generation, you should be practical and just choose from what works. You don’t have to worry about whether it really fits into socialist theory or capitalist theory. You should just decide what works."

For Obama, high taxation, wild spending, government agency domination over the people and heavy regulations work which tells you what he is.

Obama made his comments in response to a question about establishing nonprofit community organizations and said it’s important to get government and private sector investment, which for him is a sketchy relationship between Wall Street and DC.

"To president Castro, I said you’ve made great progress in educating young people [Cuban dictators indoctrinate its youth]. Every child in Cuba gets a basic education. Medical care, the life expectancy of Cubans is equivalent to the United States despite it being a very poor country because they have access to health care. That’s a huge achievement," he said about the repressive regime. "They should be congratulated. But you drive around Havana and you see the economy is not working. It looks like it did in the 1950s."

The US president likes socialism but also likes the capitalism, both of which he has subscribed to for the last seven years.

Then he told them not to rigidly adhere to labels as if the systems of socialism and capitalism are mere labels.

"You have to be practical in asking yourself, How do you achieve the goals of equality and inclusion, but also recognize the market system produces a lot of wealth and goods and services and innovation and it also gives individuals freedom because they have initiative, depending on the social issues you are trying to address, what works? What you’ll find is the most successful societies and economies are the ones that are rooted in a market-based system but also realize a market does not work by itself. It has to have a social and moral and ethical and community basis."

His love of wealth redistribution and social [unfair] justice trumps all.

During his trip, he told the Cuban dictator that his revolution was like ours -- it was a liberation movement -- and he told Argentinians earlier in the week that he is frustrated with the separation of powers.

Bombshell: Clinton Foundation Donor's Flight From Justice Aided by Hillary Allies
[Observer] Clinton donor smeared a decorated DEA agent and helped crooked Venezuelan friends escape justice.

Recent news reports indicate that the FBI is investigating former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for granting favors to her family’s foundation donors and for its systematic accounting fraud. In January, the Sunday Times of London cited former Judge Andrew Napolitano, a conservative libertarian and frequent Fox News guest, as saying that the FBI was taking evidence "seriously" and that Hillary "could hear about that soon from the Department of Justice."

It’s hard to believe that the Obama administration and its hideously politicized Justice Department would ever indict Ms. Clinton, given that President Barack Obama picked her for secretary of state and its clear favoritism toward her in the presidential race. But there is massive evidence that shows financial abuses--including money laundering--at the Clinton Foundation and overwhelming evidence that donors were helped by Ms. Clinton.

To take one of so many examples, there’s the case of Clinton Foundation donor Claudio Osorio--who is now housed at a federal prison serving 12 years for fraud--who in 2010, with Ms. Clinton’s (and Bill Clinton’s) help, won a $10 million loan from the Overseas Private Investment Corporation.

The loan was granted to an Osorio firm called InnoVida, which was supposed to build houses in earthquake-ravaged Haiti. Instead, Osorio pocketed the money and used it to underwrite his lavish lifestyle and to pay off politicians. For political muscle, Osorio--who also had close ties to Jeb Bush, who sat on the board of a bank he owned--paid a lobbyist and major Hillary fundraiser named Jonathan Mantz.

And that leads me to another Clinton Foundation donor Ms. Clinton helped out who happened to use Mr. Mantz (who now runs Ms. Clinton’s presidential campaign Super PAC) and apparently with the same great effect: Gonzalo Tirado, a crooked Venezuelan financier.

As historian Bruce Thornton notes, a substantial degree of historical nonsense is equally at work, as commentators like Bret Stephens, Dana Milbank and David Brooks have relied on "the stale ad Hitlerum fallacy used by progressives to demonize the candidate." For whatever reason -- political calculation, congenital idiocy -- such observers have simply gone off the rails.

...Who represents a threat to American democracy? Who has manipulated the democratic process? Who has embraced and fomented violence? Who has wielded government powers against personal enemies? Who has tried to hamstring a free (conservative) media? Who has stirred racial violence against whites and Christians while hosting incendiary black leaders and assuring us that the future does not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam? Who plays the victim/conspiratorial card and regularly blames others for his own failures? Who is the propagator of "sweeping, ugly lies" that many observers believe are impeachable offenses? The answer is blatantly obvious -- and it isn’t Donald Trump.

...Nobody with any sense believes that the Donald is the perfect candidate for the presidency. But he is not the problem. The problem is a culture that appears determined to sign its own death warrant, splintering into a congeries of special interest groups and reveling in a morass of identity politics, moral relativism and infantile grievances. The problem is the catastrophic legacy left by Obama on the racial, economic and foreign policy fronts, from which the nation may not recover irrespective of who the next president may be. The problem is the brace of leftist hacks and retreads vying for the Democratic nomination, one of whom will occupy the White House if fractious conservatives have their way. The problem is a Republican establishment vastly out of step with its core constituency and seemingly preoccupied chiefly with retaining its beltway perks and privileges.

Anbar Operations forces arrest terrorist, dismantle 100 IEDs in Ramadi

(IraqiNews.com) Anbar – The commander of Anbar Operations Major General Ismail al-Mahalawi announced on Thursday, that the security forces arrested a wanted terrorist north of Ramadi, while dismantled and detonated 100 improvised explosive devices.

Mahalawi said in a press statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “One of the wanted terrorists known as Waleed Khaled Hamed was arrested in al-Garayshi area north of Ramadi,” pointing out that, “The terrorist was disguised among the civilians.”

Mahalawi added, “The security forces dismantled 61 improvised explosive devices and found 2 Hell rockets, in addition to an explosive belt in al-Sijariya and Albu Risha areas,” indicating that, “A weapons cache was also found, containing IEDs, mortar shells and Hell rockets.”

“The security forces also cleansed 10 houses and detonated 45 improvised explosive devices in Zankoura axes northwest of Ramadi,” Mahalawi added.

Commander of Jazeera Operations survives assassination attempt west of Anbar

(IraqiNews.com) Anbar – A source in Anbar Operations Command announced on Thursday, that the commander of al-Jazeera and al-Badiya Operations Maj. Gen. Ali Ibrahim Dabon survived an assassination attempt west of Anbar.

The source reported for IraqiNews.com, “This morning, a bomb exploded targeting the convoy of al-Jazeera and al-Badiya Operations’ commander Ali Ibrahim Dabon, while passing in the road linking between Haditha District and al-Baghdadi vicinity, wounding five body guards.”

The source, who requested anonymity, added, “Dabon wasn’t hurt in the explosion,” pointing out that, “The security force transferred the wounded to a nearby hospital for treatment.”

Iraqi security forces liberate five villages south of Mosul

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – A security source announced on Thursday, that the joint security forces liberated news five villages south of Mosul (405 km north of Baghdad).

The source said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “The joint security forces managed to free five new villages in Qayyara vicinity and raised the Iraqi flag on them.”

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, added, “The joint forces also inflicted heavy losses on ISIS members,” noting that, “ISIS fighters fled from the villages and didn’t resist during the battles.”

Noteworthy, official journalist with the Ministry of Defense announced on Thursday, that the security forces started the first phase of the liberation operation of Mosul, while pointed out to the liberation of a number of villages in the province.

Security forces destroy 3 tunnels for ISIS in Kabisa, Anbar

(IraqiNews.com) al-Anbar – Heet District Council announced on Thursday destroying three tunnels belonging to the ISIS in the area of Kabisa, noting that those tunnels were used by ISIS to move between the cement plant and the center of the district.

The district council said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “The security forces led by the commander of the army’s Seventh Division, Maj. Gen. Nouman al-Zubai, as well as al-Jazeera Operations Command are continuing the liberation operations in the district of Heet (70 km west of Ramadi).”

The statement added, “The security forces had managed to find three tunnels belonging to ISIS between Kabisa Cement Plant and the center of the district,” pointing out that, “The length of the first tunnel is 1 kilometer and the length of the second tunnel is 500 meters, while the length of the third tunnel is 5 kilometer,” noting that, “The tunnels were used by ISIS to move between the cement plant and the center of the district.”

Americans Sascha and Alexander Pinczowski confirmed killed in Brussels attacks
[CBS] A U.S. official told reporters in Brussels Friday that at least two Americans were among those killed in the terror attacks in that city Tuesday. It wasn't immediately clear who the official was referring to.

The word came with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry visiting Brussels to express his condolences to the Belgian people.

In addition, family members said a brother and sister, both Dutch citizens who had been living in New York City and were among those missing following the Brussels attacks, were killed, their family says.

Sascha and Alexander Pinczowski have relatives in the Netherlands. They were returning to the U.S. when they lost their lives, CBS News was told.

Have the Saudis contributed roughly since 1979 to a major historical shift in the Sunni Muslim world toward a more literalist, less tolerant attitude toward non-Muslims and non-Sunni Muslims? Yes. Have Saudi schools in the Kingdom and Saudi financing of Wahhabi mosques and madrassas abroad been the means for this giant misdeed? Yes. Have the Saudis bribed Americans and Europeans with "endowment" funds here and there to mute objections to this knavery in the West? No doubt about it. Have they been playing essentially a double game for many years, buying protection against radical threats at home by bribing them into export, as it were? Sure, absolutely.

So this means that the U.S. government should break ties with these villains, treat them as enemies, and seek regime change if possible? No, no, and no.

Champ regime 'hiding' new regs from Congress
[Examiner] The Obama administration imposed over 1,000 new rules, one-third of all proposed in 2015, without first following the law and giving Congress a look and chance to kill them, according to a new report.

The American Action Forum, which studies federal rules, regulations and other actions, said that the number of violations in 2015 was even bigger than in 2014, when a top Obama aide apologized for breaking the law and promised to make sure new rules were first passed by Congress and the General Accountability Office.

The center-right group said that despite the pledge, it found "955 rules weren't sent to GAO in 2014 and roughly 1,069 weren't reported in 2015." The report said that there were 3,408 rules issued by the administration's agencies last year.

The Congressional Review Act requires that agencies pass new rules by Congress before they are imposed, explaining the impact of each and whether they will have a major or minor economic impact.

It was around this time they worked for a cleaning company at the airport, he said.

But they dropped out of school, turning to crime, and in 2011 Ibrahim was jailed for nine years for shooting at police with a Kalashnikov rifle following a bungled robbery. The next year, Khalid was sentenced to five years for car jackings. He too had been armed with a Kalashnikov.

The brothers had been radicalised in prison, the uncle said. Speaking at his home in Laeken, the working-class neighbourhood where the brothers grew up, he said: ‘Ibrahim didn’t have any money. That is why he did the robbery, because he wanted to get some money.

Colombian Marxist Rebel Group takes 'Pro-Choice' to the next level
[Daily Caller] Women who are part of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia -- FARC -- are forced to have abortions according to The Washington Post but not The New York Times.

In a piece titled, "In A Rebel Camp in Colombia, Marx and Free Love Reign," The New York Times describes sexual relations between FARC rebels as something that merely requires the "permission" of a "commander."

The Washington Post subsequently points out the troubling nature of such hierarchical relationships in pointing out that women fighters get certain "special privileges like a ‘staff’ job, better food, alcohol or medical treatment, ability to have children and leave them with their families rather than with complete strangers, or the commuting of a court-martial sentence."

The Post even cites the account of a young FARC fighter who was told she was going to a doctor for a check-up regarding her pregnancy and walked out only realizing afterward that her pregnancy had been terminated without her consent.

Paris attacks suspect ‘was planning similar strike in Brussels’

Salah Abdeslam, an alleged planner of November’s Gay Paree terror attacks who was caught in Brussels last week, was planning to carry out attacks of a similar style in the Belgian capital prior to his arrest, a Belgian broadcaster reported Thursday.

"Salah Abdeslam told me that he wishes to leave for La Belle France as soon as possible," Mary added. "I will ask the investigating magistrate not to oppose his departure."

Abdeslam has not cooperated with Sherlocks since the attacks in the Belgian capital, his lawyer told Europe 1 radio in an interview broadcast on Thursday.

The world's spies agree Belgian intelligence is broken
[Reuters] The attack on Europe’s political capital on Tuesday has been widely blamed on bad intelligence; not just the dysfunctional separation of powers in Belgium, but on the lack of sharing of information among the many intelligence services of the 28 states of the European Union.

The services in the former Communist states to the east were reconfigured after the collapse of the Soviet-backed regimes in 1990, but some still contain habits -- and in a few cases personnel -- from the days when they saw the West European status quo; agencies as the enemy. Sharing, even at a low level, is tentative.

I interviewed several former officials of the secret services of the United States, France and the UK for "Journalism in an Age of Terror," a book to be published later this year. In comments that were inevitably off the record, they spoke about how they rated their allied services -- and also how they saw their main opponents, the Chinese and Russian services.

The Belgian security services are everywhere regarded as weak. That suspicion seems to have been confirmed, as President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey claimed on Wednesday that the Turkish authorities warned their Belgian counterparts that one of the suspected bombers, Ibrahim el Bakraoui, was a dangerous terrorist.

The lack of centralization, which is a feature of all of the European agencies apart from the British, fulfills essentially a democratic criterion: that agencies unified present a greater danger to a democratic government than those kept apart, and competitive.

The instinct to so construct the intelligence services harks back to the experience of World War Two and the centralization of the services under authoritarian governments: but it hinders rapid decision-making and reform.

Brussels Terrorist Brothers: Why Does Jihad Run in the Family?
[Huffpoo] Six of the 19 9/11 hijackers were brothers. The Tsarnaevs blew up the Boston Marathon. The Kouachis shot up Charlie Hebdo. And now the Bakraouis have terrorized Brussels.

Brussels attack brothers Ibrahim and Khalid El Bakraoui join a long line of terrorist siblings, and they won’t be the last.

Particularly in groups bound by ethnicity or religion, it is common for members of the same family to become involved in the organization. From the perspective of the terrorist group, engaging family members can help sustain both the commitment of participants as well as increase the likelihood of strong operational security.

Many siblings are recruited into terrorist groups together, with the older sibling often facilitating the entry of the younger family member. British twin sisters Zahra and Salma Halane, for example, arrived in Syria in 2014 and proceeded to try to recruit their younger siblings to join them. We observed this phenomenon during the Charlie Hebdo attacks in Paris by the Kouachi brothers and, at the Boston Marathon, by the Tsarnaev brothers.

Statistics prove that is not simply a random phenomenon. Six of the 19 hijackers on 9/11 were brothers, and according to the research of Mohammed Hafez, as many as 25 to 30 percent of cases of terrorist acts involve members of the same family. Research from the New American Foundation showed that a third of Western foreign fighters had family connections.

When siblings join terrorist groups, they typically are deployed together in the same operation, although occasionally at different locations. That appears to have been the case with the Bakraoui brothers in Belgium, and it also occurred in Russia in 2004 with Amanta Nagayeva, a Chechen woman who detonated herself onboard Volga-AviaExpress Flight 1303 from Moscow to Volgograd on Aug. 24, killing everyone on board. Her sister Rosa killed herself and 10 others outside the Rizhskaya subway station in Moscow within a week.

Brussels police nab terror suspect at tram stop; bomb squad dispatched
[IsraelTimes] Security forces shoot man before dragging him away and forcing him to release bag that then is retrieved by robot

Belgian security forces on Friday reportedly shot and maimed a terror suspect carrying kaboom, during an arrest raid at a tram station in the Schaerbeek area of Brussels. A bomb squad unit was involved in the operation.

The Daily Mail published images of the arrest at a tram station, saying that a child had to be coaxed away from the side of the maimed suspect before officers could swoop in.

Amateur footage showed armed police shoot and wound the man. Officers, who had apparently been taking cover behind parked vehicles, subsequently dragged the suspect away from the station, prompting him to release the bag he still had in his grip.

A bomb disposal robot was then reportedly deployed to retrieve the bag, which was inspected by a bomb disposal expert.

Brussels, which has emerged as a hotspot for radical Islam in Europe, was hit Tuesday by suicide kabooms which left 31 dead at the airport and on the city metro.

French police sources said a major raid launched in Brussels on Friday was linked to the arrest, as French and Belgian authorities labor to unravel the links between jihadists in their respective countries.

La Belle France’s Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said the arrest of Kriket "foiled a planned attack in La Belle France, which was at an advanced stage."

Some of the TATP found in Kriket’s apartment was ready to use, while police also found its ingredients, acetone and oxygenated water.

Kriket was found guilty in absentia in Brussels last July of being part of a network recruiting jihadists to Syria and sentenced to 10 years’ jail, according to police sources.

Investigations showed he played a key role in financing the network with money from robberies and stolen goods.

Among those who went to Syria through the network were Abaaoud and another Gay Paree attacker, Chakib Akrouh.

Abaaoud was among 28 people convicted in the Belgian trial and was sentenced to 20 years in absentia.

The ‘ringleader’
A 28-year-old Belgian of Moroccan origin, Abaaoud was a notorious jihadist who had appeared in grisly Islamic State group videos and was behind several failed attack plots in Europe.

On November 13, he formed part of a 10-man team of gunnies and jacket wallahs that left 130 people dead in a series of attacks on Gay Paree, with authorities referring to him as the "ringleader."

Abaaoud was killed five days later in a police raid outside Gay Paree, during which Akrouh went kaboom!, also killing Abaaoud’s female cousin.

Abaaoud and Akrouh were part of the team of jihadists who sprayed Gay Paree restaurants and bars with gunfire on the night of the attacks, killing 39.

Abaaoud was from the Brussels immigrant district of Molenbeek, which has been thrust into the spotlight for its ties to the Gay Paree attackers and Islamic radicalism.

It is also where Abdeslam was arrested last week after a four-month manhunt. It remains unclear where Kriket fits in.

Cazeneuve said Kriket had been under surveillance "for several weeks" and that the arrest was also the result of "close and constant cooperation between European services."

"He belongs to a terrorist network that sought to strike our country," the interior minister said.

Cazeneuve said earlier in March that La Belle France had thwarted at least six potential attacks since jihadists struck in January 2015, killing 17 people at the Charlie Hebdo

Although I still think assassinating some jihad spewing priests might go a long way towards lessening recruitment in the long run.

Eastern European women were spared the radical changes in womanhood that began here with the 1968 "free-love' movements, and continue to this day with all of the tattooed, overweight, bellicose, unmarried welfare mothers our society (and tax laws) have engendered.

Trump's interest in traditional Eastern European gals (they tend to be traditional, but keep an eye on them) is a sign of intellect and good taste.

Broken Clock: ISIS frees 51 Kurds
ERBIL – Fifty-one Yezidi prisoners were released by the Islamic State (ISIS) following an exchange of prisoners between the jihadi group and the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), officials confirmed on Thursday.

Speaking to ARA News, Matthew Barber, the executive director of the Yezidi rights organization YAZDA, said the released prisoners have arrived to Duhok province in Iraqi Kurdistan.

“It is unusual that 51 are released in one rescue,” he said.

“The freed civilians arrived to Duhok, they are back to their families,” Barber said.

“The released are 51 Yezidis from around 10 families; they are mothers and their kids. No males,” he told ARA News. “The men were probably all dead.”

“It is wonderful that 51 people came back from captivity,” he said. “It is the first largest single release.”

“In April of 2015, there was a release of 200 Yezidis in Kirkuk. In fall of 2014, 97 were released. This is the third largest group of Yezidi captives to be released by ISIS.”

Last week, 19 Yezidis were rescued by the Kurdish forces of the People’s Protection Units (YPG) north of Raqqa.

According to Barber, the PKK was holding the wife of a high-ranking ISIS commander, which helped them to force ISIS release a large number of Yezidi captives.

ISIS executes 5 in Manbij

ERBIL ــ Radical group of the Islamic State (ISIS) has executed five people in Manbij city in Syria’s northern province of Aleppo on charges of “drug trafficking”, local sources reported on Thursday.

The five civilians were arrested by ISIS militants earlier on Wednesday. They were then referred to the Sharia Court which convicted them of drug trafficking and ordered their immediate execution.

“The five handcuffed men were shot dead in front of dozens of residents in Manbij city on Thursday,” local media activist Nasser Taljbini told ARA News.

The victims were identified as Musa al-Musa, Faisal Mohamed Saghir, Ali Aboud al-Omar, Thamer al-Aboud and Ibrahim Isa al-Fadl, according to eyewitnesses.

“The victims were described by ISIS as ‘spoilers on earth’,” the source said.

The ISIS-led Sharia Court in Manbij threatened to execute anyone who violates the group’s regulations. Over the past two years, ISIS has publicly executed hundreds of civilians, activists, and journalists on various charges in the city of Manbij in northern Aleppo.

The leader of Somali regional federal state of Æthiopia Abdi Mohamud Omar (Iley) said they have deliberately stopped the water flow into Shabelle rivers, the main resources of Somalis.

“We are storing Shabelle river water flow behind the walls for a dam purpose and irrigation of our own farming fields in Somali region of Ethiopia,” said Iley.

The recent spate of activity follows a period during which the religious right was in something resembling hibernation mode. Political correctness both in Pakistain and globally demands overt rejection of religious radicalism, and when our own military establishment is going through great pains to sustain an image of zero tolerance towards bully boy Islam it is to be expected that the mainstream right will follow suit.

Yet seasoned observers know better than to assume the murky links between the establishment and the bully boy right are a fact of the past. Indeed, while Pak officialdom insists that it is committed to abolishing the threat of religious militancy, it also clearly acknowledges that it is the primary interlocutor between the so-called Afghan Taliban and the government in Kabul

8 die in airstrikes in Nuristan and Kunar
At least 8 militants were killed and 13 others were wounded in airstrikes carried out by the Afghan Air Force (AAF) in eastern Kunar and Nuristan provinces.

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) said the airstrikes were carried out by the Afghan Air Force (AAF) gunships in Du’ab district of Nuristan and Asmar district of Kunar.

A statement by MoD said 6 militants were killed and 11 others were wounded in Baloch area of Asmar district in Kunar, while 2 militants were killed and 2 others were wounded in Nuristan.

The statement further added that a Dshk heavy machine gun of the militants was also damaged in the airstrike.

The anti-government armed militant groups including the Taliban militants have not commented regarding the report so far.

This comes as local officials in Nuristan province said heavy clashes continue since two days in Du’ab district after the Taliban militants launched coordinated attacks on security posts of the Afghan forces.

The officials further added that the security forces are receiving close-air support from the Afghan Air Force (AAF) as they fight back the militants.

The Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) expects to start 2016 more capabilities as compared to the previous years in suppressing the anti-government armed militants as they have received additional equipment, particularly fighter fixed-wing and rotary aircraft.

Afghanistan recived A-29 light attack aircraft fromt the United States which followed by India’s delivery of three Mi-25 gunship helicopters to the Afghan Air Force last year, a move that is expected to boost the capabilities of the Afghan forces in next fighting season.

Aid convoy reaches Taiz
United Nations-Earlier this week, UNHCR sent 13 trucks carrying blankets, mattresses, and other badly needed emergency relief items to Taiz governorate in the highlands of the country’s southwest. This was a breakthrough since it was the first time a UNHCR convoy made it through all the way from Aden to Taiz.

Dispatched in coordination with the Government of Yemen’s High Relief Committee, the convoy arrived on Sunday in Mashra’a Wa Hadnan, a district immediately south of the embattled Taizz city center. Distribution is starting this week for 500 displaced people, others who have returned to Taizz, plus local families who have been affected by the conflict.

Another 13 trucks are on their way to nearby Sabir Al Mawadim district and will be distributed among another 500 families. In Mashra’a Wa Hadnan the situation is now calm and some displaced families have been returning to their homes, while fighting persists on the eastern part of Sabir Al Mawadim.

“The two districts host over 7,500 displaced people. It is the first time that assistance has been delivered there using the direct route from Aden,” said UNHCR Representative in Yemen Johannes van der Klaauw. “The wider governorate of Taizz hosts 555,048 internally displaced people, the biggest concentration in the country and equal to almost a quarter of the 2.4 million total Yemen-wide,” he added.

These aids come within the support provided by Riyadh-based King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid, which distributed 4000 food baskets last week to the affected people in “Sabr el-Mawadem” Directorate of Yemeni governorate in Taiz.

This came within the distribution’s project of 100,000 food baskets to the affected in Taiz. The project is considered as one of the most important projects being carried out by the Center in the governorate.

ANKARA: Turkish warplanes bombed and destroyed nearly a dozen targets belonging to the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in northern Iraq late on Wednesday, the armed forces said, the latest operations targeting insurgent camps near the Turkish border.

The F-16 and F-4 jets carried out the operation against the camps in the Hakkurk, Haftanin, Avasin and Basyan areas at 9 p.m. (1900 GMT), destroying 11 targets including ammunition depots and shelters, the military said on Thursday.

On Tuesday, warplanes struck shelters, caves and ammunition depots used by the PKK in northern Iraq and rural areas near the southeastern Turkish town of Semdinli.

Security forces also killed 10 PKK fighters on Wednesday in clashes in the southeastern towns of Nusaybin, near the Syrian border, and Sirnak, near the Iraqi border, the army said.

The military says more than a thousand insurgents have been killed in the largely Kurdish southeast since a 2-1/2-year-old PKK cease-fire collapsed in July, prompting the heaviest clashes in the region since the 1990s.

President Tayyip Erdogan has said that more than 300 members of the security forces have died, while the pro-Kurdish opposition says hundreds of civilians have also been killed.

Separately, the military said two soldiers had been killed and three wounded when a homemade bomb was detonated by remote control in Nusaybin. The town has been under a curfew since March 14, when security forces launched operations against militants there.

An Israeli soldier was stabbed and moderately injured in the West Bank city of Hebron on Thursday morning.

Two attackers were rubbed out by security forces, according to the army.

The maimed soldier was taken to a Jerusalem hospital for treatment, where his condition improved from moderate to fair, a hospital official said.

The Magen David Adom emergency service said the soldier was stable and had not lost consciousness in the immediate aftermath of the attack. He sustained injuries to his upper body, a medic said.

"We saw a young man in his 20s, who was fully conscious and walking around. He suffered stab wounds to the shoulder and arm," MDA paramedic Zaki Yahav said.

His identity was not immediately cleared for publication.

The incident took place in the Tel Rumeida neighborhood, a tiny enclave of Jewish homes in the majority Paleostinian city.

1 Dies In Shootout Between Dostum And Noor Supporters
A shootout between Vice President Abdul Rashid Dostum's supporters and supporters of acting Balkh Governor Atta Mohammad Noor broke out in northern Faryab province on Thursday, leaving one dead and five wounded.

Local officials in the province confirmed violence erupted between the two groups.

"One person was killed and five others wounded in the protests," said Sayed Aqa Andarabi, the provincial police chief.

He said that police were dispatched to the area and the situation is now under control.

The alleged removal of a photograph of Dostum from a billboard in the city sparked an outcry earlier this week by his supporters - leading to protests in the streets.

Meanwhile, members of the National Islamic Movement of Afghanistan, a political party led by Dostum, said at a press conference in northern Balkh province that those who removed their leader's photo should be brought to book.

Police in Balkh province said that a delegation of elders is working to resolve the problem through negotiations.

"If Jirga (elders' council), negotiations, and elders cannot solve the problem, then we have the law and government," Sherjan Durani, spokesman for Balkh police headquarters.

Egyptian kops wipe out kidnapping gang in Cairo
CAIRO: Egyptian security forces Thursday in Cairo shot dead members of a criminal gang that specialized in abducting foreigners by posing as policemen, the Interior Ministry said.

The only foreigner reported missing in Egypt in recent months was Italian Ph.D. student Giulio Regeni, whose body was found in a ditch on the edge of Cairo, but the ministry in its statement made no mention of his case.

Regeni disappeared in Cairo on Jan. 25 and his body, bearing signs of torture, was found nine days later.

“The security forces on Thursday managed to track down a gang in new Cairo that used to pose as policemen. It specialized in abducting foreigners and robbing them,” the ministry said.

“There was an exchange of fire with the police and all members of the gang were killed,” the statement said, without giving a toll. Italian media and Egyptian opposition figures suspect Regeni was abducted and killed by elements of the Egyptian security forces, an allegation Cairo has steadfastly denied.

Regeni's identity documents found inside flat linked to gang targeting foreigners: Police

Egyptian police said they found identity documents of slain Italian student Giulio Regeni on Thursday inside an apartment linked to a gang robbing foreigners, hours after killing all its four members in a fire exchange.

Egypt's interior ministry posted on its Facebook page photos of Regeni’s passport as well as his American University in Cairo and Cambridge University ID cards, saying the documents were in a "red handbag bearing the Italian flag" along with other items such as his credit card and two mobile phones.

The apartment, located in Qalyoubiya Governorate, north of Cairo, is owned by a sister of one of the gang members, 52-year-old Tarek Saad. His wife confirmed while being interrogated that the red handbag belonged to her husband, the ministry's statement added.

Earlier on Thursday, Saad, his 26-year-old son and two other men aged 40 and 60 were in a microbus before opening fire at police forces deployed in New Cairo to arrest them, according to the ministry. The security personnel fired back and killed them.

Blue on blue: Talibunny leader declares jihad on Mansoor
A Taliban group commander affiliated with Mullah Mohammad Rasool has declared Jihad against Taliban’s self-declared supreme leader Mullah Akhtar Mansoor in northwestern Badghis province of Afghanistan.

The Taliban commander, Mullah Ghafoor Tufan, has accused Mansoor of working for Pakistan’s Inter Service Intelligence (ISI) and murdering several Taliban leaders.

He has also accused Mullah Mansoor of killing the Taliban group founder Mullah Mohammad Omar, a claim which the Taliban dissident leaders were making following his death.

Another Taliban splinter group, Fidai Mahaz, said last year that Mullah Omar was poisoned to death by Mullah Mansoor following the opening of the Taliban liaison office in Qatar which resulted to serious rift among the two leaders.

The announcement to fight the militants loyal to Mansoor was made recently in Qads district which comes days after a deadly infighting among the fighters of the two top Taliban leaders.

The infighting in Shindand district of Herat province left nearly 200 militants dead and scores of others wounded, while the Taliban insurgents were accused of war crimes, including killing of civilians and torching their houses.

Meanwhile, the local residents in Qads district have expressed deep concerns regarding the gathering of the Taliban militants declaring war against each other, with local provincial council officials calling on the government to prevent the group to organize such gatherings.

Ninevah: Iraqi forces liberate 8 villages
(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – The commander of Nineveh Liberation Operations Maj. Gen. Najm al-Din al-Jubouri announced on Thursday the liberation of eight villages in the vicinity of Qayyarah south of Mosul, while emphasized that the military operations were conducted based on an accurate plan.

Complaints grow that Belgium bungled security before attacks
[USA Today] Two days after the worst terror attack on Belgian soil, signs are growing that the Belgium government failed to address security lapses that might have contributed to Tuesday's bombings.

The European Union told Belgian authorities to remedy gaps in their border security just weeks before suicide bombers attacked Brussels Airport and a metro station, killing 31 people and wounding 270, according to a report published Thursday.

The revelation that a list of recommendations was sent to Brussels in February urging it to repair its "deficient" security checks came after Belgium apparently failed to monitor one of the suicide bombers despite warnings from Turkey.

It also followed Belgian and French media reports that a second attacker, possibly at large, is suspected in Tuesday's metro bombing along with Khalid El Bakraoui.

El Bakraoui’s brother Ibrahim, and Najim Laachraoui, were identified as two suicide bombers who targeted Brussels Airport the same day.

Belgium: We sought metro bomber’s arrest last year for terror offenses

[IsraelTimes] Belgian federal prosecutors said Thursday that an international arrest warrant for terrorism-related offenses was issued in December for the suicide bomber who blew himself up at a Brussels metro station two days ago.

Persecutors also said in a statement that Khalid El Bakraoui had rented a flat in the southern city of Charleroi, “which served as a base for the terrorist group implicated in the Paris attacks.”

The announcement from prosecutors came amid widespread criticism of Belgium’s approach to immigration and security, as well as reports that Brussels officials had specific information about the terror plot, and the attackers were known to police.

Israel’s Channel 2 television reported Wednesday that Israeli officials had warned Belgian counterparts of the numerous security failings at Brussels airport weeks before the deadly bomb blasts ripped through the site.

When we lived there, I was told by the American Women's Club (an international organization with branches in most countries where there are American expats) not to let the police in after normal business hours because they were so corrupt that bad things would be done with impunity. You may not recall, SteveS, but there was a big child sex trafficking scandal in Belgium early in the new millennium -- it turned out the kidnap ring was being run out of the office of the Minister of the Interior. Note that it was not the ministry, but the Interior Minister's own office. Their top (cumulative) customer, as I recall, were the Dutch; the majority of the taken children had come to Belgium as refugees.

Ed Klein: Justice Sources Say Huma May Be Forced to Testify on Hillary Emails
[Tea Party] Asked during a recent Democratic debate if she would step aside if indicted for mishandling classified information on her private email server, Hillary Clinton replied:

"Oh for goodness ... that's not going to happen. I'm not even answering that question."

Well, she better get ready to answer that question, because the investigation of Hillary's email scandal is reaching a climax.

My sources tell me that the Justice Department is close to empaneling a grand jury and deciding whether to grant statutory immunity to Huma Abedin, Hillary's closest adviser.

That would force Huma to testify under oath and face perjury charges and jail time if she lies. I’m also told that Hillary herself will most likely be forced to testify.

That things have gotten this far in the investigation indicates that FBI director James Comey is moving inexorably toward recommending to Attorney General Loretta Lynch that Hillary be indicted.

My sources say the likelihood is that Lynch will not make that decision herself. Instead, she'll probably appoint a special counsel to make the decision. That will get the Obama administration off the hook and avoid charges of a conflict of interest or, even worse, obstruction of justice.

Shahrukh Jatoi's escape suspects to be indicted on 31st
[DAWN] The trial of Shahrukh Jatoi’s escape, the main convict in the Shahzeb murder case, has yet to commence as a judicial magistrate has sent a reference to a district court expressing his inability to conduct the trial, it emerged on Wednesday.

While the district court has transferred the case to another judicial magistrate for trial, the case has been fixed for March 31 for indictment.

Shahrukh Jatoi, who was sentenced to death in June 2013 by an antiterrorism court for killing 20-year-old Shahzeb in Defence Housing Authority, has been booked for allegedly escaping to Dubai on forged documents following the murder in December 2012.

But the trial could not commence since the court remained vacant for around six months.

Bad Guys score own goal in Helmand, several die
Several militants have been killed by their own car bomb in Marja district of the restive Helmand province of Afghanistan.

Reports suggest that the insurgents were in the process of making a Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) which exploded on them at the last stages in ‘Pinzam Block area’ on Wednesday afternoon.

The district police chief while confirming the incident said several insurgents were killed and wounded in the powerful explosion.

Abdullah Khan did not provide a specific number of the casualties but a security official said on condition of anonymity that at least 10 bomb makers of Taliban group were killed in the explosion.

Incoming Myanmar minister ‘discovers’ his PhD is fake
[DAWN] Myanmar’s incoming finance minister said on Wednesday he was shocked to discover his PhD was fake after netizens pointed out he had been a victim of an alleged scam run out of Pakistain that ensnared thousands of others.

Kyaw Win was one of 18 people named on Tuesday to the incoming cabinet of democracy veteran Aung San Suu Kyi, whose National League for Democracy (NLD) will take office at the end of the month, ending decades of military-led rule.

The 68-year-old was one of six NLD members in Suu Kyi’s big-tent cabinet -- which includes three army officers as well as opposition party figures.

Suu Kyi, who is banned from becoming president, was confirmed as foreign minister while the other roles are expected to be formally announced later in the week.

However local media widely published a leaked list of earmarked roles, with Kyaw Win, a career bureaucrat and adviser to the NLD’s economics committee, taking the influential finance and planning portfolio.

An official CV issued by the NLD shortly after the cabinet announcement stated he held a PhD from a college in the United States called Brooklyn Park University.

But social media users quickly pointed out that Brooklyn Park was one of a number of "fake online organizations" allegedly created by a Pak group that ran a "fraudulent degree empire" out of Bloody Karachi

Kyaw Win said he did not discover the degree was fake until the news spread on Facebook after his cabinet nomination on Tuesday, an experience he described as "really painful".

It said four villages had been taken between the town of Qayyarah, which is still held by ISIS, and Makhmur, where US-backed Iraqi forces have been massing in recent weeks.

The army did not say how long this phase of the operation was expected to take and Iraqi forces still look far from being in a position to take the city itself.

The joint operations command is coordinating the battle by Iraqi security forces to retake the large parts of the country seized by ISIS during a lightning offensive in 2014.

It includes representatives from the US-led coalition that has provided air support, training and military advisers for the Iraqi army in its fightback.

Iraqi forces have scored important recent gains against ISIS, including by last month retaking Anbar thriving provincial capital Ramadi.

But Mosul -- which along with Raqa in Syria is one of the myrmidons’ two main hubs -- would be a major prize for Iraqi forces.

Experts have warned that any battle to retake the city will be difficult, given the significant number of jihadists and civilians in the city and the time ISIS has had to prepare defences.

Lieutenant General Sean MacFarland, the commander of the US-led operation against ISIS, has said that Iraqi generals do not think they will be able to recapture Mosul until the end of 2016 or early 2017 at the earliest.

As they have done in battles to retake cities like Ramadi and Tikrit, Iraqi forces are expected to work slowly and deliberately to cut off supply lines to Mosul before launching an assault on the city.

Thousands of troops were deployed in February to a base in Makhmur, some 70 kilometers (45 miles) southeast of Mosul, in preparation for the offensive.

Peshmerga fighters of Iraq’s autonomous Kurdish region have also been heavily involved in the campaign against ISIS in northern Iraq.

The peshmerga deputy commander for the sector, Araz Mirkhan, confirmed to AFP on Thursday that the offensive had started.

"Iraq forces in Makhmur have begun their advance towards Qayyarah to the south of Mosul," he said, referring to the town on the Tigris River to the west of Makhmur.

"The advance has allowed us to liberate four or five villages from the Daesh [Islamic State] terrorists," he added, using an Arabic acronym for ISIS.

Iraqi forces collapsed in the face of the 2014 ISIS advance and the jihadist group ultimately overran around a third of the country.

ISIS has declared an Islamic "caliphate" in areas under its control in Iraq and in neighboring Syria, where it has also seized significant territory.

Imposing its krazed killer interpretation of Islamic law, ISIS has committed widespread atrocities in areas under its control and launched a wave of attacks against the West, including this week’s bombings in Brussels that killed 31 people.

The US-led coalition of Western and Arab nations launched air strikes against ISIS in Iraq in August of 2014 and has killed thousands of the myrmidons.

In Baltimore alone, 148 runaways -- including 23 people wanted for murder -- were arrested as part of the sweep.

Baltimore Police Commissioner Kevin Davis said the effort was important in the ongoing drive to restore confidence in the police force. He noted that the department is seeing "encouraging results in the homicide closure rate" so far this year and that witnesses are coming forward more often to provide tips about crimes.

"That is thanks in no small part to the rehabilitation that is in progress with the relationship between police and the community," Commissioner Davis said. "We told folks in Baltimore that 2016 was going to be a different year."

Houthis agree to ceasefire
Riyadh- After the U.N. special envoy to Yemen announced the Houthis acceptance of implementing resolution 2216 – which stipulates ceasefire, abandoning arms and application of the Gulf initiative and national negotiated agreements- Yemenis across the Sadaa governorate were overwhelmingly relieved.

Implementing the 2216 U.N. resolution represents the first step towards the end of the years-ongoing war that ravaged the country.

U.N. special envoy Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed spoke to reporters in New York on March 23rd, and said that conflicting Yemeni parties have agreed to ceasefire. End of hostilities will be put into effect as of 9th of April, midnight. Negotiations will resume between both conflict parties for a third round of peace talks, which will take place on the eighth day after the truce in Kuwait.

The truce offers force withdrawal from cities, confiscation of heavy arms by the government, the launch of final security preparations for Yemen, restoration of government, appeal of political negotiations in Sana’a and the establishment of committees for captives on both conflict ends.

U.N. envoy Ahmed confirmed that the upcoming round of peace talks will be a last chance for terminating war in Yemen.

He emphasized on all sides to the conflict to abstain from any tension prodding action, so that the road to ceasefire is best paved. This is a chance to urge everyone to have faith in good, and the possibility of accomplishing political solution for the war-torn country, U.N. envoy Ahmed added.

In a phone call with Yemeni Vice President Khaled Bahah, U.N. envoy Ahmed confirmed the importance of the devoted efforts spent by the legitimate government for peace-making. Among the considerable efforts are the recent meetings joining Bahah and U.N. Secretary-General Ban Kimoon , in each of Paris and Abu Dhabi, to deliberate on the peace-making process in Yemen.

The Yemeni official news agency announced that Ahmed and Bahah, in the phone call, have discussed on all efforts for a truce and reinstating peace in Yemen, which are based on the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanism, the outcome of national comprehensive negotiations and the U.N. resolution 2216.

Vice President Bahah praised the constant efforts of U.N. special envoy Ahmed, and highlighted the essential need to halt the ongoing conflict and the establishment of permanent peace for a secure future.

On his behalf Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi pointed out that despite all field measures, his administration is concerned with the lives of Yemeni people and homeland interests, which urged them to use wisdom when dealing with their humanitarian and ethical responsibilities for the Yemeni people.

In the ballpark, a Yemeni MP revealed that Russia and Oman have directly mediated for ousted President Ali Abdullah Saleh to safely exit Sana’a with his family. The legitimate government received the mediating proposal, which set Saleh’s escape in exchange for handing in the Republic Guard’s arms and delivering Sana’a with no military confrontations; Saleh is also to be free from legal prosecution.

US to supply Kenya with five helicopters for war on al Shabaab
The US is set to supply the Kenyan Air Force with five special military helicopters to boost efforts against terrorism.

The helicopters militarily known as Huey II Standard are improved versions of the decades-old Bell UH-1H combat operation helicopters. The Bell UH- 1H Huey is a daily workhorse with an expansive cabin providing multi-mission flexibility and a standard seating of 12 people.

Kenya Army has a limited number of helicopters; most of the country’s rotary-winged-lift capabilities are fielded by the Kenya Air Force based in Eastleigh. Sources in the military said the helicopters are destined for Somalia, where KDF soldiers are fighting al Shabaab militants under the African Union peacekeeping mission. The troops need aerial firepower to combat the militants who continue to wage several attacks in Somalia and Kenya.

Jane’s World Air Forces (JWAF) said the Kenya Air Force has two Mil Mi-171 ‘Hip’ helicopters, procured in 2010, and 11 Eurocopter SA330 Super Pumas dating back to 1977.

Kenya Air Force is the largest and arguably most professional air arm in East Africa, with several dozen MD500 helicopters, mainly in the combat role. It also has several SA 330 Pumas, half a dozen IAR 330 helicopters, eight Z-9s and several armed Mi-171E helicopters. The Z-9s were delivered from China in 2010 and are the armed versions.

Brussels bombers may have planned to hit nuke site

The footage was filmed on a camera hidden in bushes opposite the home, and was recovered by two men who drove off in a car without the lights on.

Those men have been identified as Khalid and Ibrahim El Bakraoui who took part in the Tuesday attacks on the airport and the Maalbeek metro station, which killed 31 people and injured over 150 others, the report said.

Their names were not published at the time due to the ongoing investigation.

After Sherlocks examining the footage last month made the connection between the subject of the video and the nuclear program, security was beefed up at French and Belgian nuclear sites with army units being drafted in to provide additional protection.

Ibrahim El Bakraoui was identified as one of at least two suicide bombers who targeted the Brussels airport. Authorities Thursday stepped up the manhunt for a third airport attacker, seen wearing a hat and white jacket on CCTV footage from Zaventem departure hall, whose explosive-packed suitcase failed to go off with the two other suicide bombers.

Khalid El Bakraoui went kaboom! at the Maalbeek subway station killing 20 people. Local media, citing unnamed sources, said a second suspect was filmed by surveillance cameras in the metro station carrying a large bag alongside Bakraoui.

Bakkali, who had rented the Brussels apartment where the video footage was found, is being held on suspicion of terrorist activity and involvement in the November 13 2015 Gay Paree terror attacks that killed 130 people.

Civilians began fleeing after IS group fighters told them via loudspeakers to leave the centre as fighting drew closer, the Observatory said. The Observatory monitors the war using a network of sources on the ground.

Conservative legal watchdogs have discovered new emails from Hillary Clinton's private email server....

The previously undisclosed February 2009 emails between Clinton from her then-chief of staff, Cheryl Mills. Clinton's presidential campaign has previously claimed that the former top diplomat did not use her personal "clintonemail.com" account before March 2009, weeks after she was sworn in as secretary of State.

But on Thursday, the watchdog group Judicial Watch released one message from Feb. 13, 2009, in which Mills communicated with Clinton on the account to discuss the National Security Agency's (NSA) efforts to produce a secure BlackBerry device for her to use as secretary of State.

The discovery is likely to renew questions about Clinton's narrative about her use of the private email server, which has come under scrutiny.Fitton, the Judicial Watch head, described Thursday's email as a repudiation of Clinton's timeline.

"So now we know that, contrary to her statement under oath suggesting otherwise, Hillary Clinton did not turn over all her government emails," he said in a statement. "We also know why Hillary Clinton falsely suggests she didn't use clintonemail.com account prior to March, 18, 2009 ‐ because she didn't want Americans to know about her February 13, 2009, email that shows that she knew her Blackberry and email use was not secure."
Hillary got away with false testimony under oath before in the matter of the Rose Law Firm billing files which she swore she didn't know about but obviously she did since they just appeared one day in the White House. Probably thinks she can get away again.

From what I read, the "old hands" at interpreting NE tabloid exposes say that the inclusion of photos that can be identified with minor effort suggest that NE is prepared to defend itself aggressively against defamation charges - which means that it probably has fairly strong hard evidence. I guess that time will tell.

I wonder if this is effectively Donald Trump "firing a shot across the bow" of the SS Rafael Cruz, to let him (and all subsequent opponents) know that taking shots at Melania will earn them withering counter-battery fire.

7 kops die in insider attack in Kandahar
At least 7 policemen serving with the Afghan Local Police (ALP) forces were shot dead by their comrades in southern Kandahar province of Afghanistan.

According to the local government officials, the incident took place in the early hours of Thursday morning, involving three ALP forces who were apparently having links with the militants.

Provincial governor spokesman Samim Khpolwak confirmed the incident and said a investigation team has been sent to the area to probe the killing the policemen.

He did not disclose further information regarding the incident which took place in Arghandab district but a security official said 7 ALP men were killed in the attack.

The official further added that an ex-commander of the ALP forces were also among the assailants who managed to flee the area following the attack.

The Taliban militants group claimed responsibility behind the incident which takes place nearly a month after 4 policemen were martyred in a similar attack.

The last attack involving members of the policemen took place earlier this month on a highway between southern Uruzgan and Kandahar provinces.

Kandahar province has been witnessing relative peace during the recent months, however the anti-government armed militants have recently stepped up insurgency activities in parts of this province.

Norks support Assad in Syria
DAMASCUS – Military forces from North Korea are fighting in Syria to support the regime of President Bashar al-Assad, an opposition official said.

“Two North Korean units are there [in Syria], which are Chalma-1 and Chalma-7,” said Asaad al-Zoubi, head of a delegation for the Syrian opposition’s High Negations Committee (HNC) to the Geneva talks.

Speaking to the Russian state agency TASS, Zoubi stressed that the North Korean troops are “fatally dangerous”.

“Those two North Korean units are there to support the Assad regime,” he said.

The Syrian opposition has earlier claimed that the North Korean regime is providing military support to Assad in Syria.

In early 2013, former president of the Syrian National Council, Burhan Ghalioun, had said that North Korean pilots were flying in the Syrian Air Force.

Iraqi kop dies in Baghdad bomb attack
(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source in the Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced on Thursday, that six police members were either killed or wounded in a bomb blast targeted their patrol in southern Baghdad.

The source said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “This morning, a bomb exploded on a police patrol while passing in Yusufiya area in southern Baghdad, killing one of the patrol occupants and wounding five others, as well as causing material damage to their vehicle.”

The source, who asked anonymity, added, “A security force rushed to the area and transferred the wounded to a nearby hospital for treatment and the dead body to the forensic medicine department, while carried out a raid to search for the perpetrators of the bombing.”

6 Arrested in Brussels Police Operation after French Raids Foil Planned Terror Attack

in a large police operation in Brussels, a Belgian prosecutor said Thursday night, as two suspects in the deadly Brussels bombings remain on the loose.

The six arrested were detained for questioning, a Belgian prosecutor said in a statement. The decision of whether to charge them is expected to be made tomorrow.

Belgian Interior Minister Jan Jambon tweeted earlier in the evening that five people had been arrested.

Several houses were searched in Brussels, Schaerbeek and Jette, the prosecutor said. The police raids were conducted in connection with the Brussels terror attack investigation.

News of the raid came shortly after raids in northwest Gay Paree foiled a planned attack, French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said.

The French plot was at the "advanced stage" of preparation and was discovered after a French national -- described as being at a "high level" in the plot -- was arrested this morning, Cazeneuve said.

There did not appear to be links "at this stage" between the plot foiled in La Belle France and the Gay Paree or Brussels attacks, he added, saying the arrest is the result of weeks of investigation and the individual was involved in a "terror network" that planned to strike.

The raids in Argenteuil, about 8 miles outside of the center of Gay Paree, were ongoing and the streets were sealed off.

Investigators are actively seeking a second suspect in the Brussels metro bombing who has been seen on surveillance camera footage inside the subway station with jacket wallah Khalid El-Bakraoui, a Belgian police source told ABC News.

That second suspect, who is unidentified, was spotted on the subway platform at the Maelbeek station with El-Bakraoui, according to police.

El-Bakraoui is thought to be dead after detonating a bomb on the subway train as it was pulling out of the station. The accomplice now being sought has yet to be identified, but police do not believe he died in the Tuesday attack.

In the other attack at the city's international airport, Khalid El-Bakraoui’s brother, Ibrahim El-Bakraoui, was one of two alleged suicide bombers who led that attack.

Bad Guys with bomb attack cop shop in Karachi
KARACHI: Unknown miscreants riding a motorcycle attacked the Gulshan-e-Iqbal police station with an improvised explosive device (IED) Thursday night, triggering fear and panic among residents.

The explosion, which significantly damaged walls of the police station and a nearby mosque, did not cause any injuries or casulaties, said Gulshan SHO Safdar Mashwani.

He said the explaosion was a result of an IED device that weighed around 500 grams.

Mashwani said the attack on the police station resembled recent IED attacks on Rangers’ check posts in different parts of the metropolis.

SWAT: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Malakand Division claimed to have arrested an alleged terrorist during a targeted operation in Tehsil Matta on Thursday.

According to CTD police, the alleged terrorist identified as Bahadar Shah who was arrested during an operation by CTD in the limits of Matta Police Station. The accused Bahadar Shah was wanted by Matta Police Station as a case under section 380, 448,148, 149, and 7ATA was registered against him in 2009.

3 miscreants detained in Logar
The National Directorate of Security (NDS) – Afghanistan’s intelligence agency has seized a weapons depot of militants in central Logar province of Afghanistan.

Officials say the depot which had a rocket launcher and its two rounds, two kalashnikovs, a pistol, and two bags of explosive materials was discovered during a raid in Pul-e-Alam, the provincial capital, on Wednesday.

Another raid was jointly conducted by NDS personnel, police and army in in Jalozai area of Barak-i-Barak district in which three suspects were detained.

Security forces also seized a kalashnilov, two motorcycles and a ‘Saracha’ model vehicle during this raid.

Located some 60 km south of Kabul, Logar is comparatively a restive province of Afghanistan where Taliban, insurgents loyal to Gulbuddin Hekmatyar’s Hizb-e-Islami and Daesh are operating.

However, it is yet unknown what group the weapons depot belonged to.

Blue on blue: 5 Talibunnies die in Herat
At least five militants were killed in the latest infighting among the Taliban militants in western Herat province of Afghanistan.

According to the local government officials, the clash between Mullah Mohammad Rasool and Mullah Akhtar Mansoor took place Ghorian district.

The officials further added that the militants killed during the infighting have been taken to Shindand district of Herat province.

The supporters of Mullah Rasool and Mullah Mansoor engaged in a week long infighting in Shindand district earlier this month.

According to the local officials, at least 200 militants were killed during the clashes and scores of others were wounded.

The officials also added that the Taliban militants belonging to the two sides also committed war crimes, including summary executions, beheadings and attacks on local residents.

Mullah Rasool is an arch rival to the self-declared Taliban supreme leader Mullah Mansoor who oppose with the leadership of Mansoor as successor of Mullah Omar.

Meanwhile, a prominent Taliban commander, Mullah Ghafoor Tufan, has declared jihad against the militants loyal to Mullah Mansoor in the northwestern Badghis province of Afghanistan.

The Taliban leader accused Mansoor of working for Pakistan’s Inter Service Intelligence (ISI) and murdering several Taliban leaders.

Artillery battles in Yasinovataya continue

Russian backed rebels and Ukrainian ground forces continued to exchange artillery in Yasinovataya Wednesday night and into Thursday night according to Russian language news accounts.

According to an official new release by the rebel Donetsk ministry of defense, Ukrainian forces have been hitting rebel troops dug in near a road junction southwest of Gorlovka in night and daytime attacks.

Ukrainian heavy mortars firing from nearby Avdievka hit rebel positions for about five minutes Thursday afternoon.

That night Ukrainian mortar fire hit rebel positions in Spartak, Zhabichevo, which is on the northern outskirts of Donetsk, western districts of Donetsk city and the village Mikhailovka, south of Gorlovka.

On Thursday, Ukrainian artillery fire continued in locations near Donetsk city, including at Yasinovataya. Additional rebel positions were hit in Staromykhailivka, Spartak, Zhabunki, near the Donetsk airport, the western outskirts of Donetsk and Makeyevka.

In the south rebel media reported Ukrainian artillery hitting positions at Dokuchaevsk, Sahanka and Kominternovo.

Ukrainian media say that rebel artillery are hitting their positions near Donetsk city, specifically in Avdievka, Opytnoye, and near Zaitsevo, which is north of Gorlovka.

According to a news account which appeared in tsensor.net.ua, rebel forces attempted to oust Ukrainian forces from positions at Novotroitskoye by direct assault, but were repelled. According to the report, rebel forces identified as the Donetsk 5 Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade, 1st Battalion were involved.

A separate attack by rebel forces was recorded around Yasinovataya on Thursday. According to a separate article, rebels hit Ukrainian positions near Yasinovataya as they carried out force rotation in the area.

Ukrainian media charges that rebel forces have moved and are using heavy 152mm artillery in the area.

A report on the Facebook page of the Ukrainian Come Back Alive Project said that a rebel artillery observer panicked and managed to call in an artillery mission on his own position Wednesday night.

A Ukrainian journalist said that despite their repeated attempts to dislodge Ukrainian forces from the area near the crossroads, Ukrainian forces have the road that connects Donetsk to Gorlovka cut off.

Joe Garagiola's nine-year baseball career was a modest one. His 57 years in broadcasting that followed made him one of the most popular figures in the sports world and beyond.

The man Arizona Diamondbacks president Derrick Hall called 'one of the biggest personalities this game has ever seen' died Wednesday. He was 90.

The Diamondbacks announced Garagiola's death before their exhibition game against San Francisco, and there were murmurs of shock and sadness at the ballpark. He had been in ill health in recent years.
