8 Cartel Gunmen Killed in Ambush Turned Firefight near Texas Border
[Bretbart] MATAMOROS, Tamaulipas -- Mexican Federal Police helicopters, soldiers, federal agents and state police officers all took part in a large scale gun battle just south of this border city that killed 8 cartel gunmen.

The gun battle began on Thursday afternoon in the rural community of Valle Hermoso, information provided to Breitbart Texas by the Tamaulipas government revealed. Valle hermoso is about 30 miles south of Brownsville, Texas.

The firefight began when a squad of Gulf Cartel Gunmen who were hiding in the brush ambushed a convoy of police officers with Fuerza Tamaulipas. The officers had been patrolling the highway that connects this border city with the state capital of Ciudad Victoria. The police officers sought cover and began to fight off the attack as they called for help.

Children On Easter Egg Hunt Form Human Arrow To Direct British Police Helicopter To Suspects
Children on an Easter egg hunt formed a human arrow to direct a police helicopter to two suspected burglars.

The group of 30 youngsters and adults were in a field in Capel, Surrey, on Good Friday when they spotted the aircraft circling overhead.

The National Police Air Service (NPAS) helicopter had been called by Surrey Police after a report of intruders at a disused building.

The quick-thinking children spotted two men fleeing across the field and formed an arrow to direct officers to them.

The helicopter crew told officers on the ground, who arrested two men.
Who were desperately trying to figure out how to arrange themselves on the ground in the shape of a big middle finger in response to the children's arrow.
NPAS Sergeant Paul Sochon said: "The swift action taken by the group of parents and their children was the sort of thing you would usually associate with an Enid Blyton adventure but their ingenuity proved a great help for our crews.

"As a thank you for their efforts, the NPAS crew landed nearby to thank the children for the role they played in the incident and they even shared a few chocolate treats with the team, which was an added bonus after a busy shift."

A 28-year-old man and a 27-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of burglary.

They were released on bail until 13 May pending further inquiries.

Obama: Iran not following 'spirit' of deal
So let's just see how well the niftily-named "snapback" provision works, shall we? Or are you afraid of looking like the fool you are?
President Obama on Friday criticized Iranian leaders for undermining the "spirit" of last year's historic nuclear agreement, even as they stick to the "letter" of the pact.

In comments following the Nuclear Security Summit in Washington, Obama denied speculation that the United States would ease rules preventing dollars from being used in financial transactions with Iran, in order to boost the country's engagement with the rest of the world.

Instead, Obama claimed, that Iran's troubles even after the lifting of sanctions under the nuclear deal were due to its continued support of Hezbollah, ballistic missile tests and other aggressive behavior.

"Iran so far has followed the letter of the agreement, but the spirit of the agreement involves Iran also sending signals to the world community and businesses that it is not going to be engaging in a range of provocative actions that are going to scare businesses off," Obama said at a press conference.

"When they launch ballistic missiles with slogans calling for the destruction of Israel, that makes businesses nervous."

"Iran has to understand what every country in the world understands, which is businesses want to go where they feel safe, where they don't see massive controversy, where they can be confident that transactions are going to operate normally," he added. "And that's an adjustment that Iran's going to have to make as well."

Months after the U.S. and other global powers lifted sanctions against Iran in exchange for limits on its nuclear program, Iranian leaders complain that they have yet to reap the benefits.

"Our banking trade, our efforts to return wealth from their banks, various kinds of businesses that require financial services -- all of these are still facing problems," Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said in an address last month. "When we investigate the issue, it becomes obvious that [the banks] are afraid of the United States."

Despite the lifting of sanctions, American companies are still banned from doing business in Iran and foreign banks are prohibited from using the U.S. dollar for their Iranian dealings. Earlier this week, multiple reports indicated that the White House was considering easing financial rules to let foreign companies use the dollar to do business with Iran.

But on Friday, Obama appeared to shoot the idea down.

"That's not actually the approach that we're taking," he said.

"It is not necessary that we take the approach of them going through dollar transactions," he added. "It is possible for them to work through European financial institutions as well."

Instead, Obama said, Treasury Secretary Jack Lew and other U.S. officials would help "provide clarity" to global businesses about what kinds of work they can do in Iran under current rules.

Whatever Happenned to Iran's Super Stealth Fighter?
Several years back, Iran rolled out its Qaher F-313 'stealth fighter' in front of then President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Within hours it was met with near universal derision from defense and aerospace experts around the world.

While almost everyone outside Iran saw the project for the farce that it was, Tehran insisted that the project was real and that it was already flying. Further, the Iranian government insisted that the bizarre-looking aircraft--which was allegedly superior to the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor and the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter--would become operational in the very near future. But since then the project has disappeared. So, whatever happened to Iran's impressive plans for the Qaher F-313 stealth fighter?

The answer is nothing--as with much of Iran's bluster--the Qaher F-313 was a ham-handed hoax. Even at the time when Iran first showed off the Qaher, it was clear that the mockup was little more than a poorly executed propaganda stunt engineered for domestic consumption.

From even a cursory examination of the many photos and video imagery of the aircraft with a purportedly 'very small radar cross section' it was immediately apparent that this was not a serious development. At the very best, it is a subscale test-bed.

Perhaps the most immediate give away was the miniscule size of the craft. There didn't appear to be room for avionics and fuel--let alone weapons. Moreover, it's doubtful that there was an engine installed given the lack of a nozzle and the two tiny air inlets.

The other problem for Iran would have been to find an engine small enough to fit into such a miniscule airframe. Tehran's options seem limited to something like the General Electric J85--which Iran has previously reverse engineered--but without a nozzle the heat would have likely set this mock-up ablaze.

Additionally, the cockpit appeared to be too small in relation to the pilot. And the visibility through the material could only be described as horrendous.

The cockpit instruments were amongst the only items in the Qaher F-313 that could be described as real. The Iranians were using instrumentation developed for the home-build aircraft market with hardware sourced from Dynon and Garmin.

Furthermore, there were no access panels or weapons bays that were visible. Features such as access panels are found on every aircraft for routine maintenance. In the case of a stealth aircraft, internal weapons bays are necessary in order maintain the jet's low observable signature while carrying armaments. But as one engineer familiar with low observables design astutely pointed out at the time, while superficially resembling what one might imagine a stealth aircraft to look like, the Iranian machine had serious radar cross section (RCS) problems.

Stealth aircraft design is much more involved than simply mastering the low observable shapes. There are advanced materials sciences that need to be developed for the aircraft's skin and coatings. Advanced analytical tools are needed to shape the internal bulkheads and other structures. Moreover, one has to master the man-machine interfaces so that a pilot can manage the aircraft's RCS spikes in flight. There is no evidence--now or back in 2013--that suggests that Iran has mastered those technologies.

So where is the Qaher F-313? It was spotted only once after its initial debut in November 2013 being prepped for taxi tests--but it has never been seen again. It's likely the unimpressive mockup is sitting in the warehouse somewhere in Iran, or has been recycled for some other theatrical production.

The real mystery is--as it was then--how Iran's leaders might assume that they could present such a farce before the eyes of the world and not invite anything other than mockery.
I wonder if this article, or any like it, will ever be available for consumption in Iran.

Iraq
It’s home bittersweet home for returning Iraqi migrants
Some of the Iraqis who left their country in 2015 were fleeing combat zones, persecution or squalid camps but others like Mustafa and Murtada were simply running away from unemployment and boredom. A study of the migrant flows from Iraq by the International Organization for Migration reveals that "no hope in the future" was the main reason of departure for 80 percent of respondents.
[IsraelTimes] Disappointment, homesickness and fear of violent attacks from neo-Nazi gangs motivating thousands to return to their war-torn homeland

Disappointment, simple homesickness and even the high cost of cigarettes are pushing a growing number of Iraqis to return home after risking everything to reach Europe last year.

Hundreds are coming back every month, most of them with the assistance of the International Organization for Migration.

U.S. military suicides remain high for 7th year
h/t Instapundit
The Pentagon reported Friday that 265 active-duty service members killed themselves last year, continuing a trend of unusually high suicide rates that have plagued the U.S. military for at least seven years.

The numbers of suicides among troops was 145 in 2001 and began a steady increase until more than doubling to 321 in 2012, the worst year in recent history for service members killing themselves.

The suicide rate for the Army that year was nearly 30 suicides per 100,000 soldiers, well above the national rate of 12.5 per 100,000 for 2012.

Where the Middle Class Is Dying
h/t Instapundit
Despite the country’s unemployment rate falling below 5% in January for the first time since 2008, and the Federal Reserve’s decision to raise interest rates for the first time since 2006, concerns about wage growth -- particularly among middle earners -- remain. Since 2010, as the country began to recover from the Great Recession, income of the top 20% of households grew 3.7% from 2010 through 2014. During that time, incomes of the middle 20% of households declined 0.7%.

#1  In Chapter Five of The Great Gatsby, while having Daisy and Nick over, Gatsby insists that Nick play the piano, even though Nick admits that he is not all that good. Other than the naturalistic positioning of this song as merely an entertainment device, the same way the alcohol and the parties are in this novel, the song choice, I think, was something that Fitzgerald put a lot of thought into.

he song that Nick decides to play is the song, “Ain’t We Got Fun,” a satirical foxtrot composed by Richard A. Whiting and lyrics written by Raymond B. Egan and Gus Kahn. The lyrics tell the story of a young couple with debts encroaching upon them, though they claim that, “still they have fun.” Then, in a surprising turn of events, they have twins, exacerbating their situation. The song highlights the increasing gap between social classes (“The rich get richer, and the poor get– children”). Though it seems an innocent pop song, the song has cutting undertones, and much of the song gives you the idea that the couple isn’t having much fun at all. This is a much more disillusioned view of the Roaring Twenties than much of the upper class of the time would have.

Despite the song’s lower-class characters, the song’s relevance resonates throughout the novel, for the rich become disillusioned with the Jazz Age as well. For example, Gatsby and Daisy, much like the characters of the song, are ignoring worldly problems while they “have fun” together. This ignorance gives them the idea that their the re-creation of their relationship from the past can work. However, the situation with Tom, and the fact that things are not as simple as Gatsby wants to make them, show that the future for Gatsby and Daisy as a couple is something that is not very likely. The fact remains that money does not set one above worldly problems, nor is it the solution the problem. It seems that both the rich and the poor have problems, just with different things.

#2  If you consider that under this administration, the amount of outright deception by the government regarding, unemployment, inflation, immigration, high-profile criminal cases, global warming, race relations, foreign policy and world affairs, one cannot determine the true nature of the vast majority of what was once the thriving middle class. The naïve idea of free trade pushed the manufacturing jobs overseas, and our balance of trade hasn't seen a positive overall number in 40 years. Immigrants have now taken 21% of the jobs here, so workforce participation rates are at abysmal levels. Somewhere I read that a huge number of households have virtually no savings, and the fraud in welfare, foodstamps, disability, earned income tax credit and other public welfare assistance programs is rampant. Not a happy picture....

Turkey Launches New Artillery Strikes on IS in Syria
[AnNahar] Turkish armed forces on Saturday launched artillery strikes on positions of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS) group in Syria, reports said.

Turkish artillery fired shells from howitzers positioned in its border region of Kilis against IS targets in settlements around the town of Azaz in northern Syria, the Dogan news agency said.

A fragile ceasefire backed by The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
has taken effect in Syria, but the deal does not apply to territory held by the IS group and al-Qaeda affiliate al-Nusra
...formally Jabhat an-Nusrah li-Ahli sh-Sham (Support Front for the People of the Levant), also known as al-Qaeda in the Levant. They aim to establish a pan-Arab caliphate. Not the same one as the Islamic State, though .. ...
Front.

This was the the first time there had been reports of Turkey striking IS in Syria since early March.

The report said the artillery strikes were carried out following air raids in the same region by the U.S.-led coalition against IS.

Security in the Turkish border region -- which has on occasion been hit by deadly IS shelling from Syria -- has been stepped up as a result, it added.

From mid-February, Turkish artillery had also on successive days shelled targets of the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) inside Syria, with the military saying it was responding to incoming fire.

But Turkey has not shelled any positions held by Syrian Kurdish fighters inside Syria since the ceasefire was implemented from February 27.

Armed New Black Panthers Confront Armed Anti-Islamic Protesters
[DallasMorningNews] Racial tensions in South Dallas almost exploded at an anti-mosque protest Saturday afternoon before quickly dissolving when the protesters retreated.

Both sides were armed.

Dallas police stood guard on a funeral home’s roof as black counter protesters swarmed the parking lot of Eva’s House of Bar-B-Q, vowing to defend their streets and chanting "black power."

"This is what they fear -- the black man," said activist Olinka Green. "This is what America fears."

The anti-mosque group showed up in camouflage, carrying guns and an American flag, FOX 4 reported. They left soon after and the protests ended without incident.

"It’s a people’s victory here in South Dallas today," said Yafeuh Balogun of the Huey P. Newton Gun Club, named for the founder of the original Black Panther Party.

Balogun, who helped organized the counter protest, added that he wasn’t "surprised" the group withdrew when confronted by the emotional crowd.

"Would you come out and face them?"

The Bureau of American Islamic Relations, or BAIR, had planned to protest against the Nation of Islam mosque at 1 p.m.

The group rallies against what it calls radical Islamism. Its name riffs on the national Muslim advocacy group CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations. BAIR has protested multiple times outside the Islamic Center of Irving and had threatened a protest outside the Nation of Islam two weeks ago, but no one showed up.

The group decided to protest at the Nation of Islam on Saturday, accusing the mosque of "promoting violence against Americans openly and publicly," according to a Facebook page about the event.

"We cannot stand by while all these different Anti American, Arab radical Islamists team up with Nation of Islam/Black Panthers and White anti American Anarchist groups, joining together in the goal of destroying our Country and killing innocent people to gain Dominance through fear!" the event invite says.

The Huey P. Newton Gun Club and the New Black Panther Party were among those to come out in opposition. They, too, wore full gear and carried rifles.

Krystal Muhammad, national chair of the New Black Panther Party, accused BAIR of trying to "intimidate and bully" the mosque. She and others lined Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, armed and dressed in black, because "no one else will protect our people."

Rowdy crowds in south Dallas as black rights groups prepare to clash with anti-Islamic group protesting mosque

Down the street, in the barbecue restaurant’s parking lot, anger at Saturday’s anti-Islamic outsiders quickly bubbled into shouts about racism and classism in America.

A chorus of voices cried out in support of "black power."

They bellowed to shield their home from white infiltration: "Whose streets? Our streets?"

One man swore at a white TV reporter and later shouted, to no one in particular, that "we got the right to shoot back" if tensions escalated.

Robert Greaves, who lives in South Dallas, said his community owed no explanation for its anger and frustration.

"This is the black America that white America made," he said.

by special forces and transferred to the capital Bamako, security sources said Thursday.

"Souleymane Keita, the top jihadist leader in the south of the country, was arrested a few days ago on the Mauritanian border, and transferred to Bamako on Wednesday," a security source said.

Another security source said the arrest, near the town of Sokolo, followed the capture of one of his allies a few months ago in the center of the country.

"He was about to head to Timbuktu, probably to meet up with his mentor Iyad Ag Ghaly in the Kidal region" in north-east Mali, the source said, referring to the Tuareg leader of the Islamist Ansar Dine group.

Malian intelligence has said Keita and Ag Ghaly fought side by side in 2012 when jihadist forces seized the vast northern stretches of Mali.

But when French troops stepped in to oust the Islamists in January 2013, Keita headed south to his native region to set up a new group, the Khaled Ibn al-Walid "katiba", meaning combattant unit.

The group, also known as "Ansar Dine of the South", has some 200 fighters, a Malian security source said.

In March 2015, security services accused him of heading a jihadist military training camp discovered outside Bamako.

Keita was also accused last year of attacks in Fakola and Misseni near the Ivory Coast border and of "terrorist attacks" in the capital.

Turkish police capture suspected car bomber who targeted police
[AlAhrah] Turkish authorities on Saturday detained a key suspect in a bombing that killed seven people and maimed 23 on Thursday in the strife-torn southeast, security sources said.

Eight members of the security forces were killed on Saturday in separate festivities around the mainly Kurdish region, they also reported.

The outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) grabbed credit for Thursday's bombing in the city of Diyarbakir, one day before Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu visited the city and outlined plans to confiscate and rebuild a historic neighbourhood wrecked in fighting since July.

Sources said police apprehended a man they believe parked the bomb-laden car and detonated it when a minibus carrying coppers passed it on a busy street. On Friday, authorities placed in durance vile

nine people in connection with the bombing.

Six coppers were killed in the town of Nusaybin on the Syrian border on Saturday after suspected PKK snuffies blew up a building they were searching, security sources said. Four police were being treated for injuries in hospital.

A police officer from a combat unit was also killed in Yuksekova near the Iraqi border, where security forces began operations and imposed a round-the-clock curfew on March 13.

A soldier was killed in the town of Sirnak, the military said on its website.

The predominately Kurdish southeast of The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

has seen the worst violence in two decades since the PKK abandoned a two-year ceasefire in July and resumed its armed campaign for autonomy. The government says more than 5,000 snuffies and almost 400 soldiers and police have been killed.

Opposition parties estimate that between 500 and 1,000 civilians have also been killed in the fighting, largely concentrated in densely populated urban centres.

Late on Friday, snuffies used a boom-mobile to strike a military outpost near the town of Kiziltepe by the Syrian frontier. One civilian was killed and 13 people maimed, including three children and two soldiers.

IDF thwarts smuggling activity off Gaza shores
[IsraelTimes] Military says it fired at Paleostinian fishing boat loaded with ‘suspicious cases’ which fishermen threw overboard before vessel sank

The Israeli military on Saturday responded to reports that the Navy fired on a Gazoo fishing boat off the shores of the Paleostinian enclave, saying the IDF prevented the smuggling of unknown materials from Egypt into Gazoo.

According to a report in the Israeli news site Walla, the IDF said it fired warnings shots after the boat, carrying "suspicious cases" according to the military, failed to heed orders to stop. The boat had ventured into a forbidden zone.

The military said Navy forces then fired at the boat, prompting two fishermen to dump the cases overboard and swim away.

According to earlier Paleostinian media reports, the Navy fire had caused the boat to sink.

The incident occurred off the coast of Rafah, a Paleostinian city near the Egyptian border.

Israel has maintained a naval blockade of the Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,-ruled coastal strip since the terror group took over the territory from the Paleostinian Authority in 2007. It allows humanitarian aid into Gazoo through Israel’s Ashdod Port, a measure Israel says is necessary to prevent Hamas from acquiring weapons from overseas.

As part of the blockade, fishing boats and other seagoing vessels are limited to traveling close to the coast.

On Friday, the Paleostinian trade union for fishermen said that Israel was to extend the distance off the Gazoo Strip coast that some of the Paleostinian territory’s fishermen are allowed to operate starting Sunday.

Fishing boats working out of ports in the southern part of the Strip will be allowed up to nine nautical miles off the coast, the chairman of the Gazoo fishermen’s union, Nizar Ayyash, said.

He said that the previous six-mile limit would be retained in waters off the north of Gazoo which neighbor those of Israel.

COGAT, the Defense Ministry body responsible for implementing Israeli policies in the Paleostinian territories, said on its Facebook page that ahead of the fishing season, the navy "decided to expand fishing south of Wadi Gazoo from six to nine miles."

The wadi, or stream bed, reaches the Mediterranean just south of Gazoo City.

COGAT estimated the decision could add NIS 400,000 ($106,000; 93,000 euros) a year to the Gazook economy.

Around 4,000 fishermen work in Gazoo, more than half of whom live below the poverty line.

US considering sending more special forces to Syria
[NEWS24] US officials are weighing sending more special forces troops to Syria, where the contingent of American fighters currently numbers around 50, a senior military official told AFP on Saturday.

A US official speaking on the condition of anonymity said the additional troops would be used to bolster US special forces sent to Syria several months ago.

"Presumably they would do more of what they're already doing," said the official, who said the mission would be expected to take on "no new capabilities but an increase of the current capabilities".

The official said no determination has been made about the number of troops who could be sent or whether they will be sent at all.

"Nothing has been decided yet," the official said.
And likely nothing will...
The Pentagon last year said it was sending about 50 special operations troops to work with anti-ISIS fighters in Syria, although officials have said next to nothing about their whereabouts or progress since, and have worked hard to ensure no information about the commandos' presence is released, citing security reasons.

US Defence Secretary Ashton Carter has said the American forces are directly engaged in pinpointing targets in Syria. Some were involved in helping identify targets during coalition air strikes in late February to liberate the Syrian town of Shaddadi from ISIS control.

Home Front: WoT
Obama admits US drone strikes killed civilians
President Barack Obama admitted that “civilians were killed that shouldn’t have been” in past US drone strikes, but added they were now “very cautious” about striking where women or children are present.

He said that there was “no doubt” that civilians were killed in drone strikes targeting extremist camps but said that over the last few years, the administration has worked to prevent civilian deaths.

Speaking at a news conference at the nuclear security summit in Washington, he said: “In situations of war, you know, we have to take responsibility when we’re not acting appropriately.”

Recent drone and other airstrikes against extremist targets have killed large numbers of people.

A strike on an Islamic State (IS) group training camp in western Libya in February killed more than 40 people, a drone strike in Somalia against al-Shabab on March 5 killed 150 people and a drone strike in Yemen in February killed dozens.

The US came under heavy criticism for a drone strike several years ago against extremists in Yemen, which critics said actually hit a wedding party and killed women and children.

In October, an AC-130 gunship mistakenly hit a hospital in Afghanistan that was run by the charity Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF). MSF has demanded that the strike be investigated as a war crime. The Pentagon disciplined several officers and enlisted personnel for their part in the attack.

Obama said the US uses “vigorous criteria” to gather intelligence and it is “checked, double-checked, triple-checked before kinetic actions are taken”.

He said the US is targeting camps that are clearly “involved in and directing plots that could do the United States harm or are supporting ISIL activities or al-Qaida activities”.

Then, he said, “a strike will be taken”.

Foreigners living in 65 houses in capital ‘disappear’
[DAWN] ISLAMABAD: Foreigners residing in 65 houses in the capital city disappeared after final notices were served on them to submit their details to the police last month.

Officials in the police told Dawn that the 65 houses were among the 303 which were under the occupation of foreigners. The tenants had refused to provide their details to the police by March 15. The police collected the details about the tenants of 238 houses but found the 65 residences vacant when approached after the expiry of the deadline.

There is no clue to the whereabouts of the foreigners who lived in the 65 houses. Either they moved to other localities in the capital or left the city or even the country, the officials said. When the owners of the houses were approached by the police, they just said the foreigners no longer lived there.

"As we have no details about the foreigners, including their names and nationalities or passport numbers, it is impossible to trace their whereabouts," a police officer said, requesting anonymity. Similarly, he added, the reason behind their stay in the capital without disclosing their identity was also not known.

"Such mysterious disappearances rose suspicions about the tenants and there is a possibility that they might have been involved in anti-state activities or other practices," the officer said.

He was of the view that the immigration department may be asked to check how many foreigners had left Islamabad during the last two months. But such a practice may also not confirm that those who left the country were the foreigners who lived in the 65 houses in Islamabad.

The inspector general of the capital police, Khalid Khattak, could not be contacted for comments. According to a household survey conducted in February 2014, foreigners living in 430 houses refused to give their details to the police.

ISIS attacks oilfield, murders two more in Sirte
Tripoli, 2 April 2016:

IS terrorists killed two guards in a hit and run oilfield attack, murdered two more prisoners in Sirte and reportedly lost several men in air strikes on two targets in the town.

According to the Petroleum Facilities Guard, two of their men died when an IS convoy of around ten trucks descended on the Beda oilfield. PFG spokesman Ali Al-Hassi told Reuters that two of their men were killed. The attack on the field, some 250 kilometres south of Ras Lanuf, was reportedly beaten off.

This is not the first assault on oil facilities that IS has mounted, In January a raid near Maradah saw the abduction of six workers and serious damage to one of the main oil pipelines.

Meanwhile yesterday in Sirte, IS reportedly executed two more prisoners after Friday prayers. Though details of the murders are sketchy, social media posts say the victims were two brothers, brothers Amhemad and Mohamed Lody Mochtar Amdani who had been held for three months. Unusually, IS have not put up any corroborative pictures of the murders.

Similar uncertainty surrounds two airstrikes that are said to have taken place in Sirte today. The warplanes which were unidentified supposedly hit targets at the port and an area to the east of the town. The news agency LANA said a resident had claimed that the raids had caused a “heavy loss of life” and that black palls of smoke hung over the targeted areas.

Arabia
Houthis defeated Soddys in Rabboua
Saudi activist on social media, Mujtahid, confessed that Yemeni army and popular committees managed to defeat Saudi-led forces in the Yemeni border area of Rabboua.

Mujtahid, who is a well-known source in the Saudi royal family, said on his Twitter account that the Yemeni allied forces captured a Saudi colonel and many soldiers.

Yemeni army and popular committees“Unfortunately, Houthis managed following the collapse of the ceasefire to capture several Saudi forces, including Colonel Abdullah Fahd al-Qahtani, during a confrontation in Rabboua town,” Mujtahid tweeted.

Riyadh launched the attack on Yemen in a bid to restore power to fugitive president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi who is a close ally to Saudi Arabia.

However, Yemeni army, backed by the committees has been engaged in battles with Saudi-led mercenaries and Hadi’s militias in several areas across the country.

province of Afghanistan.

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) said the incident took place in Kajaki district as the Death Eaters were planting Improvised Explosive Device (IED) to target the convoy of the Afghan forces.

This comes as at least two Death Eaters were blown up by their own explosives in a similar incident in western Herat

province of Afghanistan few days earlier.

The anti-government armed bully boy groups have not commented regarding the report so far.

The Talibs and other Lion of Islam groups are frequently using Improvised Explosive Device (IED) as the weapon of their choice to target the security forces which normally lead to civilian casualties.

IED attacks largely contribute to civilian casualties in the country despite it remains one of the deadly weapons used against the Afghan forces.

According to the latest UN report on civilian casualties, the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) remained one of the top causes of civilian deaths in the country during the year 2015, which saw 3,545 deaths and 7,457 casualties.

province have been released from the captivity, local officials said.

Provincial police chief General Majeed Rozi said the de-miners belonged to HALO Trust and were kidnapped on Friday from Kohsan district.

The de-miners were released during an operation which was launched immediately after they were kidnapped by the gunnies.

No group including the Talibs has so far grabbed credit behind the incident.

Local officials earlier blamed Taliban group commanders Mullah Haidar and Mullah Toofan for kidnapping the de-minders. However,
Caliphornia hasn't yet slid into the ocean, no matter how hard it's tried...
the Taliban group has not commented in this regard so far.

Herat is among the relatively peaceful provinces in west of Afghanistan but the anti-government armed myrmidon groups have increased insurgency activities during the recent months.

This comes as murderous Moslems loyal to Mullah Akhtar Mansoor and dissident Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Rasool killed nearly 200 murderous Moslems of each other during an infighting that lasted for almost a week last month.

ns, Syrians, Iranian and Lebanese people were halted on Saturday as they headed to the Greek island of Chios from Cesme in Turkey in two dinghies, local news agency Dogan reported.

Another group of 63 were stopped as they attempted to travel to Greece's Lesbos from the Turkish coastal town of Dikili. Rooters Television pictures showed the men, women and kiddies sitting in a white tent after being caught, shielding their faces, with a heap of orange life-jackets piled outside.

Turkey agreed last month to take back all migrants colonists and refugees who crossed informally into Greece after March 20 in exchange for financial aid, visa-free travel for Turks and slightly accelerated bloc-membership talks.

French interior ministry mistakenly identifies man as terror suspect
Sacred blue!
[FRANCE24] A photograph of a man named as terrorism suspect Reda Kriket, which had been distributed by the French interior ministry and widely circulated in the media, has turned out to be a case of mistaken identity, a French news show reported this week.

The photograph shows a young man with close-cropped hair and stubble who is not, in fact, Reda Kriket, Le Petit Journal reported.

Kriket, 34, was locked away
Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please!
near Gay Paree on March 24 for suspicion of planning a terror attack in La Belle France. On raiding his home, police found an arsenal of weapons and explosives, just two days after suicide kabooms in Brussels killed over thirty people. Two photos purporting to show Kriket have circulated on news sites around the world, one in black and white and the other in colour. The black-and-white photo, of a young man with a short mustache, does in fact show Reda Kriket. The colour photograph, however, is of a different man.

The mixup started in January 2016, when the French interior ministry released a "wanted" notice for Kriket to police departments all over La Belle France. Kriket was suspected of belonging to a jihadist network with links to Syria, of which Abdhelhamid Abaaoud, an organiser of the November 13 Gay Paree attacks, was also a member. However,
a hangover is the wrath of grapes...
the photo which the interior ministry included on the Kriket notice was taken from another file, unrelated to the terrorism investigation.

Before Le Petit Journal pointed out the mistake, the photograph had already been published by international news sites like the BBC, CBS, the Mirror, and MetroNews, and on French news TV channels like TF1 and La Belle France3, as well as being reproduced in countless tweets and Facebook posts. So far, none of the English-language sites seem to have issued a correction about the photograph.

Le Petit Journal said they had confirmed the real identity of the man in the colour photograph, who lives in Courbevoie, the same Gay Paree suburb which Kriket is from. However,
a hangover is the wrath of grapes...
they withheld the man’s name. Reda Kriket has been placed under formal investigation and faces charges for planning what French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve referred to as a terror attack in the "advanced stages."

The man who was falsely identified in the colour photograph, on the other hand, could in fact sue French authorities for damages.

No compromise on women’s rights if peace deal achieved: Gulbuddin’s party
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] Amid optimisms that a peace deal will be achieved in the near future with Hezb-e-Islami party led by Gulbuddin Hekmatyar
... who used to be known in intelligence circles as The Most Evil Man in the World but who now seems merely run-of-the-mill evil...
, the representatives of the party have seized there will be no compromise on women’s rights if two sides agreed to strike a deal.

According to the Afghan High Peace Council, the pledge by the representatives of Hezb-e-Islami was made during a meeting with the women’s rights activist in Kabul
...the capital of Afghanistan. Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the World and didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either....
today.

The activists reportedly shared their concerns and questions with the representatives of Hezb-e-Islami who are in Kabul for peace talks.

This comes as the Afghan women suffered the most during the Taliban regime followed by years of violence as a result of civil war.

The women were particularly targeted by the Taliban regime who were barred from studies and other social activities.

However,
there is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened...
Atiqullah Safi, a member of Hezb-e-Islami said the party respects the women’s position in the society and dismissed the reports regarding the party’s stance to prevent women from education as baseless.

Safi further added at least 8,000 children are studying in the schools of Hezb-e-Islami with the girls students forming half of the number.

The Grand Turk
Erdogan brings American Muslims home to new mosque
[FRANCE24] Beneath a majestic Ottoman dome, waving Turkish flags outside their brand new mosque, a group of US Muslims -- the faithful and the curious -- jostled Saturday to welcome a president.
Shucks. I oughta pop on down to see it. It's only a few miles. I used to work in Lanham. Sure is nice to have an enormous gaudy Ottoman mosque that conveniently located.
Hailing the beauty of its location near the capital Washington, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him...
officially inaugurated the Diyanet Center of America.

Ankara's leader, whose country bankrolled the massive project at a cost of $110 million, said its presence in the small town of Lanham -- and during a US election year that has seen Donald Trump call for a ban on Muslims entering the country -- made sense.

"Unfortunately, we are going through a rough time all around the world. Intolerance towards Muslims is on the rise not only here in the United States but also around the globe," said Erdogan, who is accused of increasingly autocratic rule.

"That's why I believe this center will play a crucial role," he added, drawing cheers from the crowd of thousands of men, women and kiddies packed behind security barriers.

The complex, the only one in the United States to feature two minarets, echoes the golden age of 16th century Ottoman architecture, with its central dome, half domes and cupolas in the style of Istanbul's Suleymaniye Mosque.

#1  "Terrorism will never have a religion...

Erdogan here presents the childish, PC version of the Sunnah, which is contrary to the real, fundamental reality of Mohammad's hideous legacy. Why, most of the 43-odd battles mentioned in the Sunnah were terrorist attacks on unsuspecting caravans, etc., as the Mohammadians were low on cash during the Medina period...

will never have a nation,...

except of course, for the Arab nations, and now apparently Turkey...

will never have a nationality,..

like Arabian, I guess

nor will it ever have a root or ethnicity,"

Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors
The Extraordinary World War II Story of the U.S. Navy's Finest Hour

James D. Hornfischer
Bantam Dell, 2004

I did not read this book. I had a road trip and ran out of audio books. I was at a book store, saw this title, thought, "Sure, why not. Tin Can Sailor, ok."

Best literature accident I ever had. The audio version had me on the edge of the seat; I had to pause the story in traffic because listening was too intense and not listening would have been unconscionable.

Why? Mr. Hornfischer's recount of this fight near Samar on October 25, 1944 is not a story of war or tactics; it is a recount of real people in a bad spot. Mr. Hornfischer's following works Ship of Ghosts, where he recounts a human drama, and Neptune's Inferno, where he reconstructs the actions surrounding Guadalcanal, birth from this work. I purchased the hard copy book as soon as I could and am glad I did. Not only is it well referenced, the pictures of the combatants and vehicles are poignant. There is a fantastic photo titled, "As Wildcats from VC-5 scramble on the Kitkun Bay, heavy shells straddle the White Plains astern."

I had considered myself fairly well versed in notable military actions, but I had not heard of Taffy 3 until then. In and of itself, it is an action work which if made into a movie, would be unbelievable. It is Mr. Hornfischer's humanity which makes the story. (Page 26)

A productive and rewarding maturity - close though it was for the Samuel B. Roberts - lay far in the future for Bob Copeland's two small children. His wife of four and a half years, Harriet, had been there when all three of his previous ships had been commissioned, from his first command aboard the coal-burning tug, the Pawtucket, to his most recent tour aboard an older destroyer escort, the Wyman. He wanted her there in Houston for the commissioning of the Roberts, and he let her know it, cajoling her in letter after letter to make the long trip from Tacoma. But his efforts at persuasion could not overcome the imperatives of new motherhood. Though she wanted to be there for her husband, Harriet Copeland had an infant daughter and toddler son to care for. And so on the day the Samuel B. Roberts became a Navy warship, Bob Copeland took command of her without the comfort of family. Copeland would continue to chide his wife for missing the commissioning. "I think I overdid it," he later acknowledged. He finally relented when Harriet wrote him, saying, "There's an old saying that one picture is worth ten thousand words, and the enclosed picture will perhaps explain why I wasn't there." Tucked inside the envelope was the front cover of the Saturday Evening Post. It depicted the inside of a firehouse, firemen clambering aboard an engine as it raced out of the station. Their mascot, a Dalmatian, was left sitting on a large red pillow, suckling a litter of puppies as the pumper zoomed off to battle the flames. As Copeland raced off to his own four-alarm fire in the Pacific, he could not be sure he would ever see Harriet and their children again.

Mr. Hornfischer accounts the lives and actions of all duties of many ships; at least those who were able to give their account, including the Japanese, as well as the survivors and time allowed. (Page 29)

Whereas the big ships' bulk was their best insurance against heavy seas, destroyer escorts lived at nature's fickle mercy. As the seas went so went the DEs. In an unpublished 1945 dispatch sent shortly before he was killed by machine-gun fire on Okinawa, Ernie Pyle evoked the precarious seaworthiness of the tiny vessels: "They are rough and tumble little ships. They roll and they plunge. They buck and they twist. They shudder and they fall through space. They are in the air half the time, and under water half the time. Their sailors say they should have flight pay and submarine pay both."

To partially quote a firefighter comrade, "Shit was going on." (Page 220)

From the gun deck on the fantail of the Fanshaw Bay, situated on the northwest edge of the circular pod of fleeing escort carriers, ship's cook Harold Kight had a front-row seat from which to observe the destroyer screen forming into line for their torpedo run. His battle station was in the handling from below the ship's lone five-inch gun. When the gun was firing he, Jack Frisch, and Warren Whitaker fed projectile and powder cases into the hoist that supplied the crew on the open-mounted "stinger" or "peashooter." Until the enemy got closer the crew that Kight supplied did not have anything to shoot at. But with a clear 180-degree vista off the stern, there was certainly a lot to watch.

This is not a fun book; it is a human story. I went through this recount and thought to myself that I have never experienced anything close to this suffering. But they did, and some survived, and that gives me heart. We are so much better for so few people. (Page 391)

Back at the raft Jack Moore, watching the strange ship approach, turned to his shipmates and said, "Men, it looks as if we're going to be picked up by the Japs. We're covered with fuel oil, and they won't be able to tell we're Americans until they get right upon us. They may fire upon us. If they do, act as if you've been hit quickly." The super-structures looked all wrong for an American ship; they sloped to the rear "like an airflow Chrysler."

I have thoroughly enjoyed re-reading this book and strongly recommend it to youngsters mature enough to handle the realities and dangers bold people assume.

(Page 428 - Acknowledgements)

I am proud to acknowledge the cooperation and friendship that so many veterans of the Battle off Samar offered to me during the several years of research and writing that produced this book. Unfailingly gracious and generous, they made it possible to breath life into events nearly sixty years old. Without their support, this book couldn't have been written.

Says it all about Mr. Hornfischer. Check out Ship of Ghosts and Neptune's Inferno as well.

#1  Great read. I packed this book into my son's seabag before he shipped out to report to his DDG in the Pacific.

While he has heard about his great-Uncles who served aboard Destroyers and Destroyer Escorts during WWII, he really couldn't get his mind around their experiences until he read Hornfischer's book.

Truly, today's sailors stand on the shoulders of giants.

Rooshun warbirds pound ISIS troops into a fine red mist in Deir ez-Zor
[ARA News] QAMISHLI – At least 40 militant fighters from the Islamic State (ISIS) were killed in Russian airstrikes that targeted the group’s headquarters in Syria’s eastern Deir ez-Zor province, local sources reported on Saturday.

Russian warplanes hit an ISIS security building and a jihadi training camp in the Hussainiya district west of Deir ez-Zor.

“The strikes caused the death of at least 42 members of the Islamic State,” spokesman of the ‘Deir ez-Zor Is Being Slaughtered Silently’ (DBSS) campaign told ARA News.

The casualties included 15 teenagers from the ISIS-led ‘Cubs of the Caliphate’ unit who were receiving training at the hands of ISIS commanders in the jihadi training camp in the Hussainiya district on Saturday, according to the informed source.

“Local as well as foreign members of ISIS were among those killed in the Russian strikes,” he said.

This comes amid continuous clashes between the Syrian army forces and ISIS militants in Deir ez-Zor suburbs.

White House goes nuclear on Donald Trump
[CNN] Back in the early chapters of Donald Trump's headline-gobbling campaign, the White House looked upon the spectacle as little more than a diversionary amusement.

Officials tried to stay above the fray, frequently declining to comment with a wry smile, insisting they weren't going to respond to every statement made on the campaign trail.

But as Trump's rhetoric turned to banning Muslims and insulting women, things began to change, leading to a series of statements in which the President of the United States flatly said the Republican front-runner was unqualified to be commander in chief.

By the end of last summer -- as Trump was saying that African-Americans were worse off under President Barack Obama
That’s just how white folks will do you....
-- the President himself began dipping a toe in.

"America is great right now," he said in September. "America is winning right now."

Air France stewardesses mutiny over order to wear headscarves
Air France stewardesses, furious at being ordered to wear headscarves in Tehran, say they will refuse to fly to the Iranian capital when the airline resumes the service later this month.

Female members of flight crews have been ordered to cover their hair once they disembark in Tehran and unions are demanding that the flights be made voluntary for women.
How about just saying "No!" and sticking to your guns?
The resumption of a thrice-weekly service between Paris and Tehran, planned for April 17 after an eight-year break, follows a thaw in relations since Iran agreed to dismantle large sections of its nuclear programme.

Iranian women have been forced by law to cover their hair or face stiff fines since the 1979 Islamic revolution. In staunchly secular France, however, public signs of religion have been frowned upon since a 1905 law separating church and state.

French women see Islamic headscarves and veils as an affront to their dignity. Headscarves are banned in French state schools and offices, and it is illegal to wear the full-face Muslim veil in public.

Flore Arrighi, head of the UNAC flight crews’ union, said: “It is not our role to pass judgement on the wearing of headscarves or veils in Iran. What we are denouncing is that it is being made compulsory. Stewardesses must be given the right to refuse these flights.”

She added that female staff were entitled to exercise “individual freedoms”.

The financially ailing French airline, which sees the resumption of Tehran flights as an “excellent” business development, pointed out that other airline staff were obliged to comply with Iranian rules. “Tolerance and respect for the customs of the countries we serve are part of the values of our company,” a spokesman said.
Perhaps you should tolerate and respect the customs of your own country...
In Saudi Arabia, stewardesses must wear the “abaya”, a long robe that covers the body, but unlike Saudi women they are not compelled to wear face veils.
You shouldn't fly there either...
Air France argued that French law allows “the restriction of individual liberties” if “justified by the nature of the task to be accomplished.”

China-Japan-Koreas
N. Korea tries to jam GPS, fires missile, too
[NWAONLINE] North Korea fired a short-range missile into the sea and tried to jam GPS navigation signals in South Korea on Friday, Seoul officials said, hours after U.S., South Korean and Japanese leaders pledged to work closer together to prevent North Korea from advancing its nuclear and missile programs.

Officials said the attempt to jam GPS signals, which began Thursday, did not cause any major disruptions of South Korean military, aviation and sea transport and telecommunication systems. However,
some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them...
more than 130 fishing boats reported problems with their navigation systems and some were forced to return to their ports, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries said.

South Korea's Defense Ministry called the jamming attempt a provocation that threatened public safety and military operations in the South. A ministry statement warned North Korea to immediately stop the jamming efforts or face unspecified consequences.

South Korea has blamed North Korea for several previous jamming attempts. This week's jamming signals are the first since 2012, according to South Korea's Science Ministry. North Korean state media had no immediate comment.

North Korea also fired a surface-to-air missile off its east coast Friday, three days after it launched a projectile that hit land in its northeast, South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said without elaborating.

North Korea has launched a number of short-range missiles and other projectiles since the start last month of annual South Korea-U.S. military drills it views as a rehearsal for an invasion. It also has repeated threats of nuclear strikes on Seoul and Washington and warned it will test a nuclear warhead and ballistic missiles capable of carrying it.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
War on Cops: Law-Enforcement Deaths by Gunfire Up by 150% This Year
[BREITBART] The number of coppers killed by gunfire in the line of duty this year is up 150% according to the Officer Down Memorial Page, a website dedicated to chronicling the deaths of law-enforcement officers.

March was the deadliest month for police deaths so far in 2016, with a total of 16 law-enforcement officers killed. Five of those March deaths were due to gunfire.

Although the overall death total is down 3% from 2015 and the same period this year, the jump in gunfire related deaths is alarming, especially given the constant barrage of anti-police rhetoric by leftist protest groups, including Black Lives Matter.

Some of the deaths appear to be directly traced to animosity towards police. For example, the recent murder of Virginia state police trooper Chad Dermer at a Greyhound bus station in Richmond on March 31 was committed by a man, James Brown III, whose ex-girlfriend told the News Agency that Dare Not be Named"frequently expressed his hatred towards the police."

As Breitbart News reported, the Black Lives Matter movement in Minneapolis recently carried out protest action in March that ended up in front of a local cop shoppe, where protesters burned the American flag. That protest came after the state of Minnesota announced it would not be seeking criminal charges against two coppers who were involved in the death of convicted criminal Jamar Clark.

Scrutiny grows over St. Paul imam's involvement in ISIS cases
[MPRNEWS.ORG] An influential St. Paul imam lobbied the father of one of the ISIS defendants to have his son take his case to trial, rather than plead guilty, according to a court document filed Thursday.

Under normal circumstances, that would be well within the religious leader's right. But the imam, Hassan Mohamud, is also a law clerk working for a defense attorney of another young Twin Cities man charged in the case, Mohammed Farah.

Increasing scrutiny over Mohamud's role prompted Farah's attorney, P. Chinedu Nwaneri, to file a motion early Friday stating he would withdraw from the case. Nwaneri said he wanted to remove himself "to stop further distractions in this matter."

California mayor bans Trump from campaigning in her city
[WASHINGTONEXAMINER] Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump may want to avoid West Hollywood when he campaigns in Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, ahead of the state's potentially decisive June 7 primary.

Lindsey Horvath, the mayor of West Hollywood, Calif., which is located in the heart of Los Angeles County and home to a sizable population of gay men, clutched her pearls penned a letter to Trump this week explaining that he is unwelcome in her city.

"With the primary making its way to California, as West Hollywood's Mayor, I want to make very clear that your campaign of violence and intimidation is not welcome in our City," she wrote in the letter.
Fortunately for you, Madame Mayor, the First Amendment allows Mr. Trump (and the other pack of fools running for the office) to campaign where they wish. All you're going to do is convince more people to vote for the man...
"From mocking people living with disabilities to classifying entire ethnicities as violent criminals to persecuting specific religious communities, Trump has pursued headlines in this election season with reckless abandon," Horvath later explained in an op-ed for the Advocate.

Jeff Bezos' space company Blue Origin launches and successfully lands rocket
[MONEY.CNN] "Launch. Land. Repeat."

That's the approach Jeff Bezos' space company, Blue Origin, is taking to test its New Shepard, which launched and landed safely on Saturday.

The launch in West Texas is the third for the New Shepard rocket, which is named after Alan Shepard, the first American to go to space.

Both the rocket and the capsule, which will eventually carry paying customers, landed successfully. During this test, the capsule was carrying two microgravity experiments from the Southwest Research Institute and the University of Central Florida.

The SRI contributed its "Box of Rocks Experiment" (BORE) -- a box of loose rocks that "mimic the surface conditions on asteroids." The second experiment, "Collisions Into Dust Experiment" (COLLIDE), involved a box of dust and a marble that "mimic impacts between objects in microgravity."

Unlike other capsules, Blue Origin's is completely automated so no pilots are inside to control it -- this reduces risk of casualties and human error.

The rocket will continue to be relaunched and landed in order to test and improve upon it.

New Shepard had its first successful launch in April 2015 but because of issues with the hydraulic system, it wasn't recovered.

It was launched again in November and January and successfully landed both times. The tests are part of an effort to reuse rockets instead of disposing of them after they've been used to launch space craft. This new approach would greatly lower the cost of space flight.

"Now safely tucked away at our launch site in West Texas is the rarest of beasts -- a used rocket," Bezos said after the first successful landing. "Full reuse is a game changer, and we can't wait to fuel up and fly again."

Saturday's event was unique in that Blue Origin announced the test beforehand -- usually they're revealed after they've been completed.

The launch and landing were captured by drone cameras, according to tweets from Bezos. The founder of Amazon (AMZN, Tech30) tweeted the event and noted that the landing was "perfect."

Pathankot JIT’s visit positive, says Indian minister
[DAWN] The meeting between Indian and Pak Sherlocks was "positive" and the Pak side did "not contradict" India’s findings in the Pathankot airbase attack probe, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said on Friday.

He, however, said no date had yet been fixed for the visit of the Indian investigation team to Pakistain.

Rijiju was replying to a question about the visit of a Pak Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to India in the Pathankot terror case during which they recorded the statements of the witnesses.

"It all went well and satisfactorily. Our agencies have done whatever was necessary," he said.

The Pak team was given some more documents which included DNA report of the four bandidos murderous Moslems killed in the 80-hour gunbattle with security forces in Pathankot.

Brussels airport to partially reopen on Sunday
[FRANCE24] Brussels Airport will partially reopen for passengers on Sunday, 12 days after jacket wallahs destroyed its departure hall and killed 16 people.

There will be far fewer flights than normal at the start and tighter security will be in place, but the airport operator said the aim was to return to full capacity by summer.

The country’s main airport has not handled passenger flights since two suspected Islamist snuffies carried out the suicide kabooms. Those bombs and a separate one on a metro train in the city killed 35 people, including three bombers.

"Never will we forget this black day," the airport’s chief executive Arnaud Feist told a news conference. "A restart of the operations even only partially as quick as this is a sign of hope.

"As of tomorrow, Sunday, Brussels Airport should be partially operational," he added.

Feist said the airport had planned three flights for the first day, to Faro, Athens and Turin, all operated by Brussels Airlines. The number of flights should increase over time.

WH says '€˜technical issue' caused omission of '€˜Islamist terrorism' from video
"Dammit, they noticed. Quick, guys -- present the plausible excuse!"
[Wash Times] It appeared this week that the White House censored a video of the French president to omit him saying the words "Islamist terrorism" during a speech at a bilateral meeting, but officials claim a technical glitch caused the ill-timed dropped audio.

The Media Research Center, a media watchdog, reported Friday that the White House had removed a video of French President Francois Hollande speaking at a press event on terrorism with President Obama.

When the video reappeared on the White House website and YouTube, the audio of Mr. Hollande’s translator goes silent just as he says the words "Islamist terrorism," then begins again at the end of his sentence.

Mr. Hollande, speaking in French, was also muted as he uttered the phrase.

But the official White House Transcript of Mr. Hollande’s remarks included the full sentence:

"But we’re also well aware that the roots of terrorism, Islamist terrorism, is in Syria and Iraq. We therefore have to act both in Syria and in Iraq, and this is what we’re doing within the framework of the coalition," Mr. Hollande said, according to the transcript, but not the video.

President Obama, who has come under fire for avoiding phrases such as "radical Islam," and "Islamic terrorism," made three mentions of terrorism at Thursday’s meeting, using the phrases "hands of terrorism," "scourge of terrorism" and "counterterrorism."

A White House official told the New York Post that the audio gap was the result of a technical error.

Syrian rebels seize army positions in Latakia
Latakia is where the Russian air bases are located
[ARA News] LATAKIA – Syrian rebel groups were able to take control of military positions after clashes with the regime’s army forces in the coastal province of Latakia–heartland of the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, activists reported on Saturday.

The opposition factions operate in the Syrian coastal region, which include the Free Syrian Army (FSA) along with allied Islamist rebel groups, were able to destroy several vehicles belonging to the regime’s army.

Speaking to ARA News in Latakia, local media activist Ammar Ali said that the rebel group of the Northern Squad [al-Firqa ash-Shimaliya] along with other Islamist rebels announced a new battle against the Syrian army forces in Latakia.

The anti-Assad coastal alliance carried out an offensive on several military points in the mountainous areas of al-Akrad and Turkman.

The source pointed out that the rebels stepped up attacks on the regime’s headquarters with heavy weapons and Grad rockets in the vicinity of the town of Kinsabba in Mount al-Akrad.

Subsequent to fierce clashes with the regime’s army, opposition fighters were able to take control of the Rasha, al-Jinzali and al-Mazighli villages as well as the Hidada hill, the Hidada School, and the Malik village in the vicinity Kinsabba.

“Syrian rebels were able to kill a number of pro-Assad soldiers, including the colonel Louay Aslan along with his entire group in the hill of Rasha,” the source reported, pointing out that the rebels were able to destroy a tank, seizing four machine guns [14.5 caliber], a SUV with 23-caliber machine gun in addition to the destruction of a bulldozer.

The source added that opposition fighters launched an offensive on several locations in the vicinity of Kinsabba in a bid to retake them from the regime’s army after the latter seized them with the support of the Russian air raids.

“Our fighters have regained several strategic areas in the vicinity of Mount al-Akrad despite Russian heavy bombardment on our positions,” a rebel spokesman told ARA News, preferring anonymity.

On February 18, the Syrian army forces took over the Kinsabba area after fierce clashes with opposition fighters, during which the latter retreated from the region under Russian airstrikes.

Islamic State planted thousands of mines in Palmyra: Syrian army
It's what they do, along with digging tunnels, suicide bombers, taking hostages, and selling drugs, antiquities, and sex slaves -- in short, the ultimate modern jihadi organization.
[REUTERS] Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
bandidos snuffies retreating from Palmyra laid thousands of mines that they planned to set off simultaneously as the army moved in, a Syrian officer told Rooters in the ancient city after its recapture from the jihadist fighters.

The officer said main streets and side roads in Palmyra had been rigged with explosives weighing up to 50 kg. More than 3,000 had already been safely detonated since government forces, backed by Russian jets, retook the city on Sunday, he said.

He did not say why the Islamic State fighters failed to set off the explosives before pulling out, but his assertion echoed comments from Syria's antiquities chief, who said the bandidos snuffies intended to dynamite a greater area of the city's 2,000-year-old ruins than they already had.

The officer, who did not give his name, said the bombs left behind were linked so they could go off together.

"All the government buildings are rigged in a network connected to the Daesh [Islamic State] leadership headquarters," he said, using an Arabic acronym for Islamic State. "The idea was that as we enter it would all go off at once, not just bomb by bomb. And there are a really huge number of bombs."

Islamic State's defeat in Palmyra was not only a significant military victory for Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad

, opening up the country's central desert to government forces and their allies. It also cast the Syrian army as an effective fighting force against jihadists bent on cultural vandalism and wanton killing.

A military source told Rooters on Saturday troops had identified 45 bodies in a mass grave in Palmyra, including civilians and Syrian army members captured by Islamic State.

Parts of Palmyra have been cleared, including the road from Homs. But Syrian soldiers -- soon to be joined by Russian de-mining experts -- are still working on defusing or detonating explosives.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
31 reported killed in fighting between Armenian, Azerbaijani forces
BAKU, Azerbaijan — At least 30 soldiers and a boy were reported killed as heavy fighting erupted Saturday between Armenian and Azerbaijani forces over the separatist region of Nagorno-Karabakh.

The fighting was the worst outbreak since a full-scale war over the region ended in 1994. Since then, mountainous Nagorno-Karabakh — officially part of Azerbaijan — has been under the control of local ethnic Armenian forces and the Armenian military. Armenian forces also occupy several areas outside Nagorno-Karabakh. The sides are separated by a demilitarized buffer zone, but small clashes have broken out frequently.

Each side blamed the other for Saturday’s escalation.
Of course.
In a statement, Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry said 12 of its soldiers “became shahids” — Muslim martyrs — and one of its helicopters was shot down. The statement also claimed that more than 100 Armenian forces were killed or wounded and six tanks and 15 artillery positions were destroyed.

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan told his national security council that 18 Armenian soldiers were killed and 35 wounded.

Armenia earlier claimed to have inflicted heavy damage on Azerbaijani forces but did not immediately give figures. A statement from the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Ministry claimed more than 200 Azerbaijani soldiers were killed, but there was no corroboration for that figure.

“This is the most wide-scale military action that Azerbaijan has tried to carry out since the establishment of the 1994 cease-fire regime,” Sargsyan said.

The Armenian Defense Ministry said Azerbaijan used aircraft, tanks and artillery to try to make inroads into Nagorno-Karabkh and that “Azerbaijani authorities bear all responsibility for the unprecedentedly supercharged situation.”

The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said the fighting began when Armenian forces fired mortars and large-caliber artillery shells across the front line. Ministry spokesman Vagif Dargyakhly told the Associated Press that more than 120 shots were fired, some of which hit civilian residential areas.
Destroy any baby milk factories?
David Babayan, a spokesman for Nagorno-Karabakh’s separatist president, said a boy of about 12 was killed and two other children were wounded in a Grad missile barrage by Azerbaijani forces.

Years of negotiations under the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe have brought little progress in resolving the territorial dispute.

...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
.

"The arrest of the Indian spy has proven Indian state sponsored terrorism in Pakistain," said Afgan while speaking in detail regarding Indian and Afghan intelligence’s involvement in acts of terrorism in Balochistan.

The inspector general also claimed that controllers and other agents linked with Kulbushan Jadhav, the RAW agent nabbed

from Balochistan, have been arrested by security forces in the aftermath of Jhadav’s arrest.

Afgan did not give further details about the arrests made.

"The Indian agent entered Pakistain from Sarawan," said the IG.

FC’s top officer elaborated that India was actively involved in terror and subversive activities in Balochistan, and was hatching conspiracies to derail the multi-billion dollar China-Pakistain Economic Corridor.

The government later aired a confessional video of Jhadav.

The IG FC also said security forces have conducted successful intelligence based operations and have been successful in eliminating all ‘no-go areas’.

Europe
One-third of EU fighters in Syria return home
[NEWS24] Almost 30% of EU citizens who joined the fight in Syria have returned home, according to a new study.
Why are they allowed back in?
The study, prepared by the Hague-based International Centre for Counter-Terrorism, said that over 4 000 Europeans had gone to fight in Syria, of whom 14% were confirmed dead.

French, Germans and Britons make up the highest number of imported muscle from European countries in the ranks of gangs in Syria, the study reported, but Belgium is the largest contributor in proportion to its population.

Europeans fighting alongside groups in Syria and Iraq have been high on the agenda of European security concerns for several years.

Returned volunteers have been involved in attacks in Gay Paree and Brussels over the past 18 months, including last month's kabooms in the Belgian capital.

The study however, maintained that "not all FF [imported muscle] are terrorists, and not all turbans are FF".

"Thus, not all returnees systematically present a danger to the societies to which they return," it added.

The researchers said that it was hard to understand the motivations of the returnees, but a previous study published by Dutch Security and Intelligence Service in 2014 offered various reasons for returning. These included: "being disillusioned, being traumatised, [feelings of] betrayal, realisation of the atrocities, and regret, as well as having plans to recruit others or commit attacks in their countries of departure."
But recruiting isn't a danger. Trust us...
About 17% of them were female and 23% were converts to Islam, according to the latest study, published on Friday. Most came from urban areas or peripheral suburbs of the continent's cities.

Belgium - home to the attackers linked to last year's Gay Paree shootings as well as last month's Brussels bombings - sent 41 fighters per million population.

Not only did Belgium contribute the most fighters compared to its population, but only 18% of them had returned, compared to 50% of those who had left from Denmark, the researchers said. Austria and Sweden followed in per capita terms.

In absolute terms, La Belle France was the largest source country for fighters who had left to fight alongside the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. of Iraq and the Levant. The study counted more than 900 of them.

Germany and Britannia also contributed large numbers.

ISIS troops driven from al-Kamaliya in Aleppo
[ARA News] ALEPPO – Syrian opposition fighters on Saturday were able to recapture several key areas from the radical group of Islamic State (ISIS) in Syria’s northern Aleppo province subsequent to fierce battles, military sources reported.

The battles coupled with airstrikes by the US-led coalition forces in the region.

Speaking to ARA News in Aleppo, rebel spokesman Saleh Zein confirmed that a number of Syrian opposition factions, including the Sultan Murad Squad, al-Mutasam Brigade and the Levant Corps, were able to expel ISIS extremists from the town of al-Kamaliya on Syria-Turkey border subsequent to fierce clashes.

“More than 15 ISIS militants were killed in Saturday’s confrontations,” Zein reported.

In the meantime, clashes continued between rebel fighters and ISIS militants in the vicinity of the Tel Shaeer town, coupled with rocket bombardment by the Levant Corps fighters on ISIS headquarters in the town.

“The operations caused heavy losses in ISIS manpower and equipment,” the spokesman told ARA News.

Also, the US-led coalition forces conducted several air raids on ISIS fighting positions and tactical units in the vicinity of the towns of Tal Shaeer, Soran and al-Ahmadiya in a bid to expel the radical group from the region at the borderline with Turkey.

Over the past few months, the ISIS hardline group has been receiving painful blows from the US-led coalition forces. ISIS started to launch arbitrary arrest campaigns against civilians in areas under its control, forcing hundreds of young men to join the fighting, in a bid to compensate the unprecedented shortage in its manpower, according to local sources.

Recently, the airstrikes led to a considerable decline in ISIS power along the Syrian-Turkish borderline.

Turkey accused of forcibly returning refugees to Syria
[DAWN] Amnesty International accused The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

on Friday of illegally forcing groups of Syrians to return to their conflict-torn country, saying the alleged expulsions highlighted the "fatal flaws" in a migrant deal agreed with the EU.

The claim comes just days before Turkey is due to start taking back migrants colonists expelled from the EU under an accord reached last month.

Amnesty said its research in the south of Turkey suggested the country was forcing around a hundred Syrians to return home on a daily basis.

Turkey -- which has taken in 2.7 million Syrian refugees since the conflict began in 2011 -- has always vehemently denied that any Syrian is forced to go home and insists its "open door" policy remains in place.

Belgian authorities arrest third suspect in foiled terror attack plotted for France
[WASHINGTONPOST] Belgian federal prosecutors confirmed Saturday that a third suspect in Belgium has been charged in connection with plotting what officials are calling a major terrorist attack on La Belle France.

The suspect, identified only as "Y.A.," was taken into custody on Friday. Prosecutors said that Y. A. is a Belgian citizen born May 4, 1982, making the suspect 33, but declined to provide further information "in the interest of the investigation."

The arrest comes as part of the same investigation that led to the March 24 arrest of Reda Kriket, 34, in the Gay Paree suburb of Argenteuil, and another suspect in the Netherlands a few days later.

Two other suspects have been jugged
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
in Belgium for colluding with Kriket: a man authorities have identified only as Rabah M., 34, and Abderahmane Ameroud, 38. Both were arrested in Brussels on March 25 and both are Algerian citizens.

In the apartment Kriket occupied in Argenteuil, police discovered assault rifles, handguns and explosives -- including TATP, the type of explosive that has become a trademark of Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. jihadists. The substance was used in both the November attacks on Gay Paree and in the Brussels attacks.

At the time of Kriket’s arrest, French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said the apprehended suspect was in the "advanced stages" of planning an attack in conjunction with "a terrorist network."

Dutch authorities, at the insistence of their French counterparts, arrested a French citizen, Anis Bahri, 32, in Rotterdam on March 27. Authorities say Bahri was involved in plotting the La Belle France attack.

Although the extent of Kriket’s network remains unclear, he was sentenced in Belgium in absentia in July 2015 to 10 years in prison, for being part of a jihadist channel stemming from Syria. Also sentenced in absentia was Abdelhamid Abaaoud, a ringleader of the November terrorist attacks in Gay Paree who was killed five days later in a police raid in a Gay Paree suburb.

After the March 22 attacks on the Brussels airport and the city’s metro line, Belgium remains on the highest level of alert. The climate of palpable anxiety has resulted in increased security throughout the capital, where on Saturday police detained protesters for attempting to break an imposed ban on demonstrations.

The Castration of the Joint Chiefs of Staff
[US Defense Watch] Will the Joint Chiefs ever make a stand against the Obama Administration?

Will the Joint Chiefs ever stand up against the insane social engineering policies which are eviscerating the military like a late night Ginsu chef?

Last September, General Martin Dempsey retired as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and escaped in a rowboat down the Potomac as the Pentagon began to sink into the cold depths of the wide, grey river.

Dempsey’s reign of cowardice and political correctness was a genuine disaster for the US military. Under Dempsey and his sidekick, Army Chief of Staff, General Ray Odierno, Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell was repealed, transgenders were authorized to serve in the military and we departed Iraq leaving a power vacuum and the keys to a Pandora’s Box.

Under Dempsey, crippling rules of engagement in Afghanistan continued, which make our soldiers and Marines pop up targets of opportunity. Under Dempsey, military personnel were subjected to hours and hours of sensitivity training, doing physical training wearing pregnancy simulators, lactation and breastfeeding memos distributed to combat commands, a war in the ranks against Christianity, a purge of hundreds of general officers and admirals and my personal favorite...the ordering of US Army ROTC male cadets to parade around college campuses in red high heels, in order to feel sympathy for rape victims.

Under Dempsey, the US began Operation Inherent Resolve, the Five O’Clock Charlie air campaign against ISIS that is the laughing stock of the Middle East.

Under Dempsey, the graduation of three women at Ranger School took place, including a 37 year old woman, in what is still a giant cover up. So much obfuscation and Kool Aid drinking is taking place at Benning, it should be renamed Fort Cognitive Dissonance.

Right now, the O-bots have absolutely no credible excuse for their failures, and at this point the doves in uniform are not about to give the O-bots one. Like the rest of us, they are quietly repeating "10 more months. 10 more months"

#4  "10 more months. 10 more months"

There's no way to really know that, given that The Beast will be as bad or worse. (And I ain't holding my breath waiting for an indictment.)

I've often wondered, given the oath to the constitution that they all take, what the Brass would do if the civilian leadership gave up all pretense and declared the constitution void. Just ignore it and go along?

#6  I dunno. I suspect that even at her worst, she would stick to her salami tactics and not go for the grand "The constitution is null and void". If she did, then the JCS frogs would jump and it is on.

With the salami tactics that she and her fellow Bolsheviks prefer, I expect you would wind up with a bowl of JCS frog soup who would only realize how co-opted they are when the order to put down a rebellion or insurrection.

The only question at that point would be what if any rebellion in the provinces would take place, and how Capital District would choose to suppress it.

And then of course, there are always the unforseen "Events, my dear boy. Events!" that would force hands and actions.

Europe
Salah Abdeslam 'refused to blow himself up', says brother
How noble of him, to be sure. Of course, there are all those killed by the other suicide bombers he'd gotten supplies and such for, so he'll get some credit from Allah toward his own mansion in Paradise full of male and female virgins when the time comes...
[FRANCE24] The suspected ringleader of the Gay Paree attacks, Salah Abdeslam, decided not to blow himself up during the wave of killings in the French capital last year, his brother said on Friday.

Mohammed Abdeslam said his brother "voluntarily chose not to blow himself up" along with the other Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
jihadists who killed 130 people in gun and suicide kabooms in November.

"If I wanted, there would have been more victims," Salah Abdeslam told his brother from prison in northern Belgium, according to Belgian media chain BFMTV.

"Luckily, I did not follow through."

Salah Abdeslam, the sole surviving suspect in the November attacks in Gay Paree, was tossed in the calaboose
... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not...
in Brussels on March 18 after four months on the run as Europe's most wanted man.

He is believed to have acted as a logistics coordinator and told Sherlocks he was meant to carry out a suicide kaboom at the Stade de La Belle France stadium, but backed out.

Four days after he was arrested, the Belgian capital was struck by IS bombings at the airport and a metro station carried out by jihadists with links to the Gay Paree attacks cell.

The 26-year-old, who is about to be extradited to La Belle France, apparently told his brother he wants to cooperate with Sherlocks, but denied any role in the Brussels bombings.

Mass grave of victims of IS found in Syria's Palmyra
[YAHOO] Syrian troops have found a mass grave containing the bodies of 42 people executed by Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
jihadists in Palmyra, as Washington warned the group's leader will eventually "taste justice".

IS has in recent months grabbed credit for deadly attacks in Brussels and Gay Paree, but has lost ground in Syria and Iraq.

Days after Syrian troops backed by Russian forces recaptured Palmyra and its ancient ruins, the army "uncovered a mass grave of officers, soldiers, members of the popular committees (pro-regime militia) and their relatives," a military source told AFP on Saturday.

Twenty-four of the victims were civilians, including three children, he said, asking not to be named.

"They were executed either by beheading or by shooting."

The bodies, which were found on Friday, have been transferred to a military hospital in the bustling provincial capital Homs and some have been identified.

In a major symbolic and strategic coup for Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Terror of Aleppo ...
, the Syrian army on Sunday recaptured Palmyra and its UNESCO World Heritage Site, which IS had overrun in May 2015.

During their nearly 10-month occupation of Palmyra, the jihadists executed at least 280 people, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britannia-based monitor which confirmed the discovery of the mass grave.

Soon after IS stormed Palmyra, it rubbed out 25 soldiers in the ancient Roman theatre.

It later released a video of the mass killing in which the executioners appeared to be children or teenagers.

Syria's five-year war has left at least 270,000 people dead. Few mass graves have been found, however.

Nearly a week on, few of Palmyra's up to 70,000 residents have returned.

"People fear reprisal by the regime, and also the mines planted all over the city by IS," Observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman told AFP.

"In addition, many houses were flattened by Russian air strikes before Palmyra was reclaimed," he added.

Police release seven suspects in KPC attack case for want of evidence
[DAWN] KARACHI: Police on Friday informed the administrative judge of the antiterrorism courts in Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
that they released seven suspects for want of evidence in a case pertaining to an attack on the Karachi Press Club (KPC).

The seven suspects -- Abdul Qadir, Muhammad Raza, Imran, Umair Khan, Zafar Iqbal, Irfan and Khawaja Raza -- said to be affiliated with the students’ wing of a religious party, were tossed in the clink
... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not...
on March 28 for their alleged involvement in the case.

However,
some men learn by reading. A few learn by observation. The rest have to pee on the electric fence for themselves...
the investigation officer submitted a report under Section 497(2) of the criminal procedure code in court stating that no incriminating evidence was found against the suspects to connect them with the alleged offence during the investigation. He added that three media persons, who sustained injuries in the attack, did not identify the suspects.

The administrative judge directed the IO to submit an investigation report as required under Section 173 of the CrPC. According to the prosecution, the Anjuman Talba-e-Islam, the student wing of the Jamaat Ulema-e-Pakistain-Noorani, had staged a demonstration on March 27 in front of the KPC to mark the chehlum of Mumtaz Qadri, but the participants turned violent and set a vehicle of a news channel on fire, beat up journalists and attacked the KPC over what they described as a lack of media coverage of their protest.

Paperwork was started but nothing else was done under Sections 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon), 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object), 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees), 436 (mischief by fire or explosive substance with intent to destroy house, etc), 511 (punishment for attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life or a shorter term) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistain Penal Code read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997 at the Artillery Maidan police.

Klein: Comey And ‘A Lot Of Other FBI Agents’ Will Resign If Hillary Is Not Indicted
[DAILYCALLER] Clinton author Ed Klein says that if Hillary Clinton
... sometimes described as For a good time at 3 a.m. call Hillary and at other times as Mrs. Bill, never as Another John Foster Dulles ...
is not indicted, FBI Director James Comey and "a lot of other FBI agents" would resign as well in protest.

In an interview with Fox Business Network’s "Varney & Co" on Friday, Klein said, "I think Comey realizes that he’s got to wrap this [investigation] up well before the conventions otherwise he’s going to disenfranchise millions and millions of people. So I think this is going to be wrapped up in around six more weeks."

#1  She's currently playing heavily to black constituents for a reason, and it has little if anything to do with the theater of democratic nomination. If she is removed from the ballet, the disenfranchisement will cause a kak storm of epic proportion within some voter precincts.

Just another reason I believe she will not be formally charged or removed from the presidential running.

Former Defense secretary: Obama 'double-crossed' me
[The Hill] Former Defense Secretary Robert Gates says he felt President Obama "double-crossed" him during his tenure over budget cuts to the Pentagon.

In a Fox News report Friday that explored the president’s approach to the military, Gates said Obama had promised him that there wouldn’t be any "significant changes" in the defense budget for a while. When asked by Fox whether Obama kept to his word, Gates replied, "Well I think that began to fray. ‘Fray’ may be too gentle a word."

According to the report, Gates was told to cut hundreds of billions of dollars from the defense budget after already having slashed it.

#3  A failed puppet master, or whom is handling whom ?

Gates, the Bush hold-over, did not like his new puppet? He surely remained at the bridge for quite a long time, obediently saying NOTHING, or was there some misguided hope he could help chart the course? I can't help but wonder at what point he realized a control problem was at hand ?

While at Indiana University, Gates was recruited by the Central Intelligence Agency and joined in 1966.[19] On January 4, 1967, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Air Force after attending Officer Training School under CIA sponsorship.[18][19] From 1967 to 1969, he was assigned to the Strategic Air Command as an intelligence officer, which included a year at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri, where he delivered intelligence briefings to Intercontinental Ballistic Missile crews.[20] After fulfilling his military obligation, he rejoined the CIA as an intelligence analyst.[21]Gates left the CIA in 1974 to serve on the staff of the National Security Council. He returned to the CIA in late 1979, serving briefly as the director of the Strategic Evaluation Center, Office of Strategic Research. He was named the Director of the DCI/DDCI Executive Staff in 1981, Deputy Director for Intelligence in 1982, and Deputy Director of Central Intelligence from April 18, 1986, to March 20, 1989.

Elizabeth Warren Wants The SEC To Help Her Ban Free Speech
[THEFEDERALIST] Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) wants the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to prohibit organizations from "saying whatever they want about Washington policy debates," according to a letter she sent to the agency on Thursday.

Warren sent a letter to SEC Chairwoman Mary Jo White calling for an investigation into alleged discrepancies between statements insurance executives made to their investors and complaints these same individuals made about the impact new government regulations would have on their businesses, The Wall Street Journal reports.

The new regulations stem from a Department of Labor rule change that will make it tougher for investment firms that handle retirement funds to operate.

In the letter, Warren alleges that she’s concerned discrepancies in their statements will harm investors. She even called out the individuals and their companies by name and asked for a "prompt and thorough" investigation into their statements, but stopped short of declaring that they violated federal laws.
