Sixty-five heads of state and governments, along with thousands of aid workers, politicians, civil society members journalists and celebrities, descended on Istanbul this week for the first-ever World Humanitarian Summit.

The U.N. sponsored the two-day summit hoping the high-level meetings could help jumpstart, or even fix, the world’s struggling aid system. But leaders from some of the world’s wealthiest countries were nowhere to be seen. Only one out of the "Group of Seven" member states, who together made up nearly half of the global GDP last year, attended.

Angela Merkel was the only G-7 leader to show, most likely because she would like to avoid almost everything that's going on for her back at home. I wouldn't be surprised to find her at the grand opening of a petting zoo in Reykjavik next week.

There is also the fact that holding a "humanitarian summit" in Turkey to address the Syrian refugee crisis is a bit like having a college cheerleader abstinence camp in Bill Clinton's hot tub.

Illegal Immigrants Sue After Landlord Demands Documentation For Housing
Four Latino families filed papers to sue their Virginia landlord Monday after he threatened eviction due to illegal family members living on the premises.
Hopefully they will have to pay their own legal bills after they hopefully lose.
The civil rights lawsuit filed by families living in Waples Mobile Home Park in Fairfax County, Va., claims it is discriminatory to require a social security number for residency. The landlords at the mobile home park are requiring residents to provide either a social security card, passport or valid visa with documentation to renew their leases, reports The Washington Post.

The lawyers representing the families, from the Legal Aid Justice Center (LAJC) and Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan law firm, say the actions are targeted discrimination that disproportionately affects lawbreakers Latinos in the community. All the families involved in the lawsuit have lived in the park for at least two years and have at least one family member without legal residency. The landlords say they need the documentation in order to conduct proper criminal background checks.

The suit filed in the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia says the requirement violates the Fair Housing Act and the Virginia Fair Housing law, according to WJLA.

America's New SOF Commander Wants to Predict the Future
[Defense One] Tampa, Fla. -- Getting "left of bang" in a ready position to deal with new threats in their early stages is the most important challenge for the future of U.S. special operations forces, according to their new commander, Gen. Raymond "Tony" Thomas.

The little-known Army Ranger, new to the 4-star spotlight atop U.S. Special Operations Command, sees America’s elite troops transforming from a reactive to a proactive force, one that operates globally, but still with a light footprint. Thomas’s vision is a force that is predictively employed, rather than reactively deployed. "It is in the area of left of bang where we must strive to be more relevant in the future," he said.

Thomas has been working counterterrorism operations for most of his career. He led the first Ranger contingent into Afghanistan after the September 11 attacks and in 2008 reportedly survived a bomb attack on his vehicle while conducting operations in Mosul, Iraq.

Today, the 1980 West Point graduate is looking to expand SOF’s global presence with more forward access into more countries, operating more continuously with partner governments and militaries.

"Left of bang is less a technological approach than a people-access approach: being there ahead of time, having relationships there ahead of time, identifying problems before they become crises, developing that partner capacity, prior, not after, a response. We are too often on the other side of that," Thomas said Tuesday, at the National Defense Industrial Association’s Special Operations Forces Industry Conference, or SOFIC, in Tampa.

Politico update to AP Newsbreak: DoS IG Report - The Hildbeest violated email rules
[Politico] A State Department watchdog concluded that Hillary Clinton failed to comply with the agency’s policies on records while using a personal email server that was not approved by agency officials, according to a report released to lawmakers on Wednesday.

The long-awaited findings from the agency's inspector general, which also revealed Clinton expressing reluctance about using an official email account, even as it confirmed apparent hacking attempts on her private server, were shared with Capitol Hill Wednesday, a copy of which was obtained by POLITICO.

It's the latest turn in the headache-inducing saga that has dogged Clinton's campaign. While the report concludes that the agency suffers from "longstanding, systemic weaknesses" with records that "go well beyond the tenure of any one Secretary of State," it specifically dings Clinton for her exclusive use of private email during her four years at the agency.
Judge Nap sez this could be very bad juju for the Beest.

Portuguese spy and Russian Non-Official Cover (NOC) case officer rolled up in Rome
[Observer] Last weekend, in the latest development in the secret espionage struggle between Vladimir Putin’s Kremlin and the West, a major Russian spy was arrested in Italy. On Saturday, Carvalhão Gil, a senior intelligence official from Portugal, was picked up by Italian police along with his Russian intelligence handler, whom he was meeting clandestinely in Rome.

Although Portugal is hardly a big player in the global spy game, it has been a member of the Atlantic Alliance since its founding in 1949, and Lisbon’s intelligence services are full members of the West’s secret spy network. Finding a mole like Mr. Carvalhão in any NATO security service is a serious matter for the whole alliance.

A career intelligence officer, the 57-year-old Mr. Carvalhão, who went into the espionage business in the late 1980s, had risen to the senior ranks of Portugal’s domestic spy agency, the Security Intelligence Service--SIS for short. He is a division chief in that service, according to Portuguese press reports, what SIS terms an area director. Mr. Carvalhão previous assignments have included operational work in counterintelligence and counterterrorism. A philosophy graduate, the suspected traitor is described as highly intelligent--an intellectual. It’s evident Mr. Carvalhão had access to a wide array of NATO secrets thanks to his official position.

Portuguese intelligence suspected it had a mole for some time, and a secret hunt for the turncoat commenced in 2014. With help from spy partners, including the CIA, Lisbon developed a list of suspects. Mr. Carvalhão was high on that list, not least because of his open affection for all things Eastern European, which he made plain on his Facebook page.
Money, Italian cuisine, RU pu***, Facebook, the usual incentives.

Saudi Cleric Says Posing for Photos With Cats Is Forbidden
A prominent Saudi cleric has declared photographs with cats, and other animals, unless completely necessary due to an upsurge in Saudis "who want to be like Westerners."

On a televised broadcast, Sheikh Saleh Bin Fawzan Al-Fazwan, a member of the Saudi Council of Senior Scholars, was told about "a new trend of taking pictures with cats has been spreading among people who want to be like Westerners."

He replied: "What?! What do you mean pictures with cats? Taking pictures is prohibited. The cats don't matter here."

The sheikh continued: "Taking pictures is prohibited if not for a necessity. Not with cats, not with dogs, not with wolves, not with anything."
Apparently ISIS and the Taliban didn't get the meow memo
Footage of the televised broadcast was published on YouTube on April 17 and translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute monitoring group.

Under the country's strict, ultraconservative brand of Islam, known as Wahhabism, many things that are normal in Western daily life are outlawed. In January, Saudi Arabia's grand mufti allegedly ruled that chess is forbidden in the kingdom as it encourages gambling. Sheikh Abdulaziz al-Sheikh said that chess was "a waste of time and money and a cause for hatred and enmity between players."

Another game to be banned in the country is the Pokemon franchise, with the grand mufti saying that it promoted other religions, such as Christianity or Judaism because of the crosses or the Jewish Star of David that were displayed on the cards.

Europe
Why Are So Many Muslim Refugees in Europe Suddenly Finding Jesus?
Because most of them really want out of Syria, the system and the religion.
Hundreds of Pakistanis and Afghans have been lining up at a local swimming pool in Hamburg, Germany, to be baptized as Christians. In the Netherlands and Denmark, as well, many are converting from Islam to Christianity, and the trend appears to be growing. Indeed, converts are filling up some European churches largely forsaken by their old Christian flocks.

All of which raises a question, not least, for the United States: If American presidential candidate Donald Trump gets elected and bars Muslims from entering the country, as he says he will, would the ban apply to Christians who used to be Muslims? How would one judge the quality of their faith?
By where they go to church maybe? Maybe have them carry a smart phone with them wherever they go. That way the government can monitor them.
For the moment, that quandary is a ways off for U.S. Homeland Security, but in Europe even now the phenomenon is fraught with echoes of the past, problems in the present, and omens for the future. Forced conversions of Muslims and Jews during the Spanish Inquisition were a dark page in Europe's history. More than a little suspicion surrounds some of the current conversions, seen by some to be cynical bids to improve the chance of getting asylum. And, looking forward, it's potentially quite dangerous for those who embrace the Gospel to return to homelands where abandoning Islam for another faith can be treated as a capital crime.

Still, many preachers are pleased. The German pastor of the Evangelical-Lutheran church in Berlin calls the conversion phenomenon "a gift from God." In his modest community a staggering 1,200 Muslims, mainly Afghans and Iranians, converted in just three years.

In Hamburg, where German ARD TV showed the Pakistanis and Afghans lining up to be baptized by the pastor of the Persian Church community, more than 600 people reportedly were received into the congregation.

There is no reliable overall figure for converts in northern Europe, but judging by reports from different media outlets, it is safe to assume the number runs into the thousands, maybe even tens of thousands who say they want the Gospel, "the good news," offered by Jesus Christ.

One young Iranian woman convert told the German news magazine Stern, "I've been looking all my life for peace and happiness, but in Islam, I have not found them," Another convert told Stern he had found in Christianity an element--love--that was missing from the faith he was brought up in. "In Islam, we always lived in fear," he said. "Fear God, fear of sin, fear of punishment. But Christ is a God of love."

Not all church communities are equally excited about this new development, however. Some church leaders question the integrity of the new stream of conversions, which may be undertaken under subtle--or not so subtle--pressure.

Pastor Gerhard Scholte of the Reformed Keizersgracht Church, who also heads up the refugee task force of combined Amsterdam churches, says, "conversion to Christianity is not promoted in our church, so we see very little of it." From his point of view, "Everyone is a child of God," whether baptized or not. "Faith should not be conditional," he says.

Indeed, Scholte suggests that conversion on a large scale may verge on abuse. "It is taking advantage of people in weak positions and it's all about the figures," Scholte says, "That is abhorrent to me."

His Reformed Keizersgracht Church in Amsterdam has been working with refugees since the early '80s. "Unless it saves lives, we are not eager to convert. In that case however, we convert anyone who wants to," Scholte adds. In fact, this church has a long tradition saving lives through conversion. "This is what our church did to help Jews in the Second World War," he said.

Many evangelical communities today take a more pro-active posture. They approach their work with missionary zeal and, implicitly if not explicitly, may link aid to conversion.

In the Netherlands and other Northern European countries, such churches are very active giving refugee assistance. They encourage refugees to accept Jesus in their lives and embrace the Gospel of Love. At the same time, they offer free Dutch lessons and may invite refugees for a temporary stay in Dutch Christian homes. In many cases this is the first and the only glimpse refugees get into Dutch society outside the boundaries of a camp.

The Dutch New Life Evangelical community in Alphen aan den Rijn reportedly saw 50 new converts added to its ranks in one year. "They were touched by God's word during the prayer sessions," Pastor Ab Meerbeek told the national newspaper Trouw. Most are from Iran and Afghanistan. They listen to the sermons translated in Farsi on headphones.

Whatever the reasons are for Muslim refugees to embrace Christianity, their conversions may endanger them if asylum is refused and they are sent back to their countries of origin. And contrary to popular belief, conversion to Christianity can actually damage one's chances of asylum in the Netherlands.

"It does not help people, because the Dutch authorities tend to distrust swift conversion," said Scholte. "It can work against you when you are seeking asylum."

In Germany, conversion can work to a refugee's advantage. "Members of our community are almost always granted asylum," Pastor Gottfried Martens of the Berlin Evangelical-Lutheran Church told BZ Berlin. "They can't go back without danger to their lives in their home country as Christians."

This paradoxical fact--converted Christians are more likely to be persecuted than those who stay Muslims, and are thus more eligible for asylum--may explain part of the recent surge in conversions.

But there are many cases in which personal safety already is compromised before refugees arrive in Europe, says Geesje Werkman of Church in Action.

"If an Afghan woman comes to you saying she wants to convert because she was raped and because of that she would be stoned, she can be deeply touched and wanting to convert because of a passage in the Bible that says, 'He who is without sin cast the first stone'" says Werkman.

Werkman says she worries about generalizations. "There is not just one story, there are a multitude of different stories," he tells The Daily Beast. "It really doesn't help if the press writes that the conversions are unreliable, when there are so many different situations, it cannot be reduced to one storyline."

Scholte, for all his skepticism about conversions and those who encourage them, thinks the strongest appeal of churches in Europe is a new idea of freedom. "That is what they sense when they come in touch with Christianity. I do understand," Scholte says. "But if you tell me what church you are from, I will tell you how 'free' that will actually be. There are enormous differences."

#1  Moslem people smugglers have been known to throw Christians overboard as soon as the water gets choppy. Therefore it is not a good idea to announce your Christianity until you reach dry land - in Europe.

As for converting to improve your chances of gaining asylum, that is not likely to work. Thanks to Barak HUSSEIN Obama, the US government is actively discriminating against Christian refugees.

#2  "If American presidential candidate Donald Trump gets elected and bars Muslims from entering the country, as he says he will, would the ban apply to Christians who used to be Muslims? How would one judge the quality of their faith?"

That is why we should block people from regions and not by religion. Set up a system where someone sponsers you the way they did after World War 2, if you get a sponser you can come over. If you screw up the sponser is also held accountable for your crimes. Let Church groups and such do the vetting instead of the government.

Hillary Clinton's problem isn't Bernie Sanders. It's Hillary Clinton
[Salon] No matter what you think about Hillary Clinton as the presidential primaries wind down, there is one undeniable fact that lingers in the background. Despite having had enormous advantages from the start of the campaign--no serious competition from within the party, solid support from national party leaders, a massive war chest and a nationwide grassroots network built over the course of decades in national politics--Clinton has struggled to put away a 74-year-old Jewish socialist who has had almost no establishment support.
This in Salon? She must really be in trouble.
Say whatever you want about Clinton’s lengthy resume'--and her credentials are indeed impressive--
No they aren't. She's ridden Bill's coattails all the way to this moment. She'd be another hack lawyer if she'd married someone else. She'd be a ham-and-egger in suburban Chicago, or a adjunct faculty person at an unranked law school. The only things that have gotten Hillary to where she is now are her ambition and her marriage.
her performance this primary season is hardly indicative of a strong candidate.

Indeed, Clinton concedes that she’s not a natural politician, lacking the charm of her husband or the charisma of Barack Obama. But what should be troubling to those who hope to see a Democrat in the White House next year is that Clinton seems to suggest that this weakness isn’t problematic, that her resume and policy-wonk reputation will be enough to carry her on Election Day.
She's "Crooked Hillary".

#4  I'm not sure it's all Hillary's fault. Sanders is generating a lot of excitement on his own. I don't think the schools these days educate kids about the differences between capitalism and communism, free enterprise versus government control of the economy. The kids certainly don't remember the Soviet Union or the Cold War. They think Bernie is some kind of a mild Santa Claus socialist who will turn America into Sweden and for some reason they think Sweden is cool. They think all the free stuff that he promises is really gonna be free. It's kinda scary.

Dr. Chris Kolba: 'Dormant butt syndrome' causing joint, muscle pain for millions
[Wash Times] A physical therapist at Ohio State University claims to have quite literally gotten to the bottom of the reason millions of Americans suffer from knee, hip and back pain.
Who knew ?
Dr. Chris Kolba, a physical therapist at OSU’s Wexner Medical Center, said Monday that "dormant butt syndrome," or DBS, may be the cause for chronic pain, affecting a range of individuals from athletes to the infrequently active.

"It basically refers to the gluteus Maximus or the glute muscles just not functioning as efficiently as they should," Dr. Kolba explained in a video released this week by Wexner.

"The entire body works as a linked system, and a lot of times when people come in with knee or hip injuries, it’s actually because their butt isn’t strong enough," Dr. Kolbasaid in a statement. "The rear end should act as support for the entire body and as a shock absorber for stress during exercise. But if it’s too weak, other parts of the body take up the slack and often results in injury."

DHS: Bungling border agency can't find drone records
[Wash Times] Homeland Security can't find a single record of a request to fly drones to help the Coast Guard, the agency said this week in a letter to a top member of Congress -- an admission that's likely to add fuel to the guard's request for its own fleet of unmanned aerial vehicles.

R. Gil Kerlikowske, commissioner of Customs and Border Protection, said his agency's Air and Marine office records all requests, but for some reason it "could not locate any prior requests from the USCG" for unmanned aerial surveillance flights.

For Rep. Duncan Hunter, California Republican and chairman of a subcommittee that oversees the Coast Guard, the admission was the latest signal that the border agency isn't treating its colleagues in the guard fairly.

Experts Fear A US Arms Shipment To Libya Could End Up In ISIS Hands
[Daily Caller] The Obama administration is pushing for the United Nations to end a 2011 embargo on arms shipments to Libya in order to save the current regime from falling to the Islamic State, but some experts caution a U.S. arms shipment may end up in the hands of terror groups.

In an effort to prevent the spread of ISIS, which metastasized after the U.S. toppled the Gadhafi regime, the Obama administration is looking to provide weapons and training to the Government of National Accord (GNA), which is a United Nations-endorsed state entity located in western Libya.

The problem, according to U.S. Africa Command chief Army Gen. David M. Rodriguez, is it's unclear which groups the Obama administration should support since assessing their allegiance to the GNA in Libya is incredibly difficult. To make matters worse, U.S. intelligence on the ground is patchy.

For this reason, the Pentagon is hesitant to get involved in launching yet another "train and equip" program until there's more "political unity" around the GNA. That’s what Navy Capt. Jeff Davis said shortly after Marine Gen. Joseph Dunford, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, remarked that small teams might be sent to Libya very soon, since political unity could happen "any day."

Possible Shots Fired at New Mexico Trump Rally
[PJ Media] At least one shot has been fired at a Donald Trump rally in New Mexico. Reports came in late Tuesday night after violence punctuated the campaign event at a convention center in Albuquerque.

According to Fox News, a bullet was fired, shattering a glass window at the venue where the rally was held. The shot was the most dramatic act of violence related to the event, but hardly the only one. Police deployed tear gas and other counter-measures as protesters persisted in attempts to break into the convention center.

First 'Clinton Cash' Domino to Fall: FBI Reviewing Investigating Bagman McAuliffe
[Breitbart] Virginia Democratic Gov. Terry McAuliffe is the subject of an ongoing investigation by the FBI and prosecutors from the Justice Department’s public integrity unit, U.S. officials briefed on the probe say.

As part of the probe, the officials said, investigators have scrutinized McAuliffe’s time as a board member of the Clinton Global Initiative, a vehicle of the charitable foundation set up by former President Bill Clinton.

There’s no allegation that the foundation did anything improper; the probe has focused on McAuliffe and the electoral campaign donations, the officials said.

Spokespeople for the Justice Department and the FBI declined to comment.
Hillary's memory is about to get worse. "McAuliffe? Never heard of him!"

In Chicago, we call that "Fedheimers Disease." Just as Alzheimers disease is a loss of memory and inability to recall things, Fedheimers is the inability to recall an association with someone who has just been indicted by the Feds.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Hardliner Elected to Head Iran's Assembly of Experts
Om May 24th, the Assembly of Experts elected Ahmad Jannati, the best-known hardliner in its ranks, to run the influential governing body. Fifty-one out of 86 members voted in his favor. Most important among the Assembly’s responsibilities is selection of the Islamic Republic’s next supreme leader. With almost 60 percent of the vote in Jannati’s favor, hardliners have demonstrated that they command considerable power in the new assembly, which was elected in February 2016.

Ahmad Jannati's success this time shows hardliners’ determination to rebuild their powerbase after a lackluster performance in recent parliamentary elections. It could also signal greater organization among hardliners, and more widespread support for hardliner agendas across the assembly in general. On the other hand, in the elections, Jannati was a candidate representing Tehran, which has 16 representatives in the Assembly. He squeaked through with the lowest number of votes among the 16 candidates.

Jannati’s election is also a mark of political vengeance against Hashemi Rafsanjani. When senior hardliner figures Mohammad Yazdi and Ayatollah Mohammad Taqi Mesbah Yazdi failed to get re-elected to the assembly, Rafsanjani and his allies did little to suppress their joy — so today’s victory for hardliners will come as a bitter blow, with the prospect of future political battles clearly set out.

Hardliners suffered humiliating defeats in both parliamentary and assembly elections in February, with moderates closely connected to both President Hassan Rouhani’s administration and Hashemi Rafsanjani shifting the power balance away from hardliner agendas. But with Jannati’s win, the balance of power has once again shifted.

The election of the chairman of the assembly, however, is not a purely internal affair. External political lobbies play an important part, and regularly pressure members of the assembly to vote in a way that will benefit them. Again, the success achieved by such lobbies demonstrates greater organization on the part of hardliners.

Jannati’s election to the presidency, and the hardliner victory it represents, does not mean hardliners will necessarily have a dominant voice when it comes to selecting the next supreme leader when the time comes. After all, members of the assembly are highly prone to pressure from political groups, and from members of Iran’s military and security establishments, and are liable to change their positions.

But Jannati’s victory is a clear reminder that hardliners have no intention of backing down on the fight against reformists and moderates. They may have suffered a terrible blow earlier this year, but they have more than enough ammunition to continue the battle.

Iraq
KRG is ripe for independence, says Barzani
Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) President Masoud Barzani has expressed hopes of holding a sovereignty referendum within this year as the territory is “ripe for independence.”
You know Erdogan has to be happy about this...
“God willing, this year a referendum will be held,” Barzani said during an interview with Swiss newspaper Neue Züricher Zeitung, rudaw.net said May 24. Barzani added that “Kurdistan [KRG] is ripe for independence.”

Barzani stressed the rights of individual nations, noting that nations have to be consulted whether they want to live within borders or separate.

“No resolution can be imposed and any new resolution now has to be made through a referendum,” which is a gesture of democracy, Barzani said. “Each nation has its own natural borders, and those borders that have been drawn through the use of force should not be maintained anymore.”

Barzani also talked about the Sykes-Picot agreement, which marked its centennial anniversary last week. The Sykes-Picot agreement between Britain and France of 1916 did not actually draw the boundaries of the region, but it did seek to carve out spheres of influence from the ruins of the crumbling Ottoman Empire during World War I.

“The strong forces drew the borders, but now they are essentially destroyed and the time has come that this current reality has to be admitted and accepted,” Barzani said.

Concerning the issue of a possible unification of the Kurdish population in the region, which live in parts of Iraq’s neighboring countries including Syria, Iran and Turkey, Barzani said a nation of 40 million to 50 million people must have its own state.

“Undoubtedly, we welcome the fact that our 40 million-50 million nation has to have a state of its own, but we must also consider the fact that we are divided into four parts. And each part has its own situation and each should find a solution with its central governments,” he said.

Nigerian governor declares 'war' against Fulani herdsmen
[Al Ahram] A Nigerian state governor has declared "war" against nomadic herdsmen, after another deadly attack in an escalating conflict killed two people.

"The killing of our people must stop," Ayo Fayose, governor of the southwestern state of Ekiti said on Monday during a visit to the community affected.

"We must take all action to stop it. They have killed two. This Ekiti war must be fought with the totality of our spirit, strength."

Fayose called on the crowd to "bring down" any cow grazing unnecessarily in any part of the state and local communities to "terminate the lives" of herdsmen that attacks them.

The governor's comments go way beyond any of his counterparts also affected by the Fulani conflict, which has seen a spate of attacks this year against farmers in central and southeastern states.

President Muhammadu Buhari last month directed police and soldiers to "take all necessary action to stop the carnage" and has proposed the creation of grazing land to prevent further festivities.

But Fayose promised to send a bill to the state parliament to criminalise cattle grazing in the state after last Friday's attack in Oke Ako, which also left five others critically injured.

The mainly Muslim Fulani herders and largely Christian farmers have clashed for decades over increasingly scarce land and resources, particularly in Nigeria's religiously mixed central states.

But the violence has escalated in recent months and spread further south.

In February, hundreds of people were said to have been killed and about 1,000 homes destroyed in farming villages in the Agatu area of Benue state in a wave of attacks blamed on Fulani.

23,000 police mobilized to protect Tour de France
The price for refusing to submit to the Master Religion is meant to be high.
[Ynet] Cyclists at the Tour de La Belle France will be under the watch of an unprecedented force of 23,000 police, including SWAT-like intervention squads, as the government tries to ensure security amid bad boy threats.

La Belle France has been in a state of emergency since attacks on Gay Paree in November killed 130 people, with soldiers guarding landmarks and religious sites. The emergency measures were extended last week to cover the European soccer championship next month and the Tour de La Belle France, which runs from July 2-24.

Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve met on Tuesday with Tour director Christian Prudhomme and afterward announced exceptional security measures.

Arabia
Soddy border guard dies in mine explosion
[AlArabiya] A Saudi border guard was killed and three others were wounded by a landmine that exploded while on patrol alongside the border with Yemen on Monday, state news agency SPA reported quoting an interior ministry spokesman.

The frontier has been largely calm since March after the Saudi government reached an understanding with Yemen's Houthi militias to stop firing across the border in a move that had paved the way for peace talks now underway in Kuwait.

SPA said the mine exploded in the morning in the Jizan region in southern Saudi Arabia when two border patrols passed on a designated road near the border with Yemen.

One soldier died in the blast while three others were wounded and were taken to a hospital, the agency said.

It was not immediately clear if the mine had been planted recently or had been there prior to the calm in place since March.

US warbirds pound ISIS positions near Raqqa
[ARA News] KOBANE – Aircraft of the US-led coalition on Tuesday launched a number of airstrikes on headquarters of the Islamic State (ISIS) radical group in Syria’s northeastern Raqqa province. This comes as the Kurdish-Led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) started a campaign to liberate Raqqa province from ISIS militants.

In its first phase, the SDF campaign would focus on capturing the countryside of Raqqa, which will serve as a launching pad for more operations against ISIS in its de facto capital in the future.

“US-led coalition’s fighter jets launched over a dozen airstrikes against ISIS tactical units and fighting positions in northern Raqqa,” SDF officer Habun Osman told ARA News. “The raids bombed ISIS in the southeastern suburb of Ain Issa town in northern Raqqa.”

“The coalition’s air cover is helping our troops to advance on the ground,” Osman said.

The Kurdish officer reported that SDF troops were engaged in fierce clashes with ISIS near the Jubriyat Khalil town of Raqqa province on Tuesday evening.

The western-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Tuesday afternoon launched an operation to capture the countryside of Raqqa from the Islamic State (ISIS) group, military sources told ARA News.

“Cleansing these territories from ISIS starts now from the north of Raqqa,” Kurdish Defence Minister of the Rojava Auto-Administration told ARA News in Kobane.

“We began the operation to liberate northern Raqqa with the participation of all the Syrian democratic forces and the support of the international coalition aircraft. The goal of the campaign is to liberate the people of this region from the injustices of the ISIS mercenaries. Through this campaign, we will liberate the north of Raqqa,” said Abu Fayyad, SDF commander in Tel Abyad city–north of Raqqa.

Pak Rangers target Indian posts in Uri, Army retaliates
[Daily Excelsior] For the second time in last one week, Pak Rangers today fired at Indian posts in Uri sector along the Line of Control (LoC) and Army retaliated. However,
there's more than one way to stuff a chicken...
the exchange of fire between troops of the two sides lasted for half an hour.

A security bigshot said that Pak Rangers fired at Indian posts in Lacchipora area of Kamalkote sector of Uri this evening. He said that the firing took place at around 4:30 p.m. when Pak Rangers targeted Indian forward posts in Lacchipora area of Uri in North Kashmire’s Baramulla district with small arms.

The official said that the Army also fired back but the exchange of fire lasted for half an hour. He, however, said that only small arms were used during the exchange of fire.

The official said that it was a localized issue between the troops of the two sides. This is for the second time that Pak troops targeted Indian posts in Lacchipora area. Last week on May 17, Pak Rangers targeted the same posts with small arms.

This is the same area where Army foiled a major infiltration bid by 5-6 Death Eaters last week on May 20. Army sources said that as the Death Eaters in this sector are making desperate attempts of infiltration but they are failing in their efforts and Pak Rangers are trying to give them cover.

They said that besides this, during the foiling of infiltration bid by Army on May 20, some of the bullets may have hit the Pak posts and this could have been a provocation for today’s firing by Rangers.

Army in the area is conducting massive searches after last week’s infiltration attempt as they have reports that Death Eaters are trying to infiltrate through this sector.

Lacchipora, Kamalkote is the traditional infiltration route for the Death Eaters and in early 1990s it was the major infiltration route. However,
there's more than one way to stuff a chicken...
it was later abandoned by the infiltrators after Army intensified vigil in the area. This route is nearest and easiest for infiltration and for last two years Death Eaters have reactivated it.

Sources said that the Death Eaters have intensified their efforts to infiltrate into Kashmire this month after the improvement in weather. They said that the number of Death Eaters, ready to infiltrate into Kashmire, at the launch pads across the LoC in Pakistain Indian Kashmiree (PoK) has increased and has gone past 200.

Sources said that Death Eaters are desperate to infiltrate as they have suffered major losses this year as security forces eliminated 46 Death Eaters this year.

Europe
Suspect in 1980 Paris synagogue attack ordered back to jail
[FRANCE24] A French court on Tuesday ordered the chief suspect in a deadly attack on a Gay Paree synagogue in 1980 to be sent back to jail, ten days after he was released on bail.

Hassan Diab, a Lebanese-Canadian sociology professor who were tossed into the calaboose for 18 months, is accused of being part of the Special Operations branch of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Paleostine (PFLP).

The PFLP was blamed for the bombing on October 3, 1980 that left four dead and around 40 injured.

Targeting the synagogue in rue Copernic, western Gay Paree, it was the first major attack on a Jewish site in La Belle France since World War II.

Diab, 62, was extradited from Canada in November 2014 and charged with the attack. He maintains his innocence and denies he was a member of the PFLP.

On May 12, a judge authorised his release on bail after ruling there was doubt over the "fundamental question" of whether he was in La Belle France on the day of the attack.

His ex-wife had told Sherlocks that he was in Beirut on September 28, 1980, despite stamps in his passport indicating that he was already in Europe.

Federal prosecutors appealed the May 12 decision, leading an appeals court Tuesday to order him sent back to jail.

"It's a very unfair decision," Diab's lawyer William Bourdon said.

Bernard Cahen, lawyer for one of the civil parties to the case, said that "on the merits of the case, we are absolutely convinced of his guilt".

"The defence will struggle to destroy this case," he added.

Diab has been charged with murder, attempted murder and destruction of property as part of a terrorist enterprise.

Italy: 5600 migrants rescued off Libya in 48 hours
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Another 3,000 migrants colonists were rescued from stricken boats in waters off Libya on Tuesday, the Italian coastguard said, lifting the total saved in the space of 48 hours to 5,600.

The latest rescues, involving 23 different operations, will take to more than 37,000 the total number of people taken to southern Italian ports since the start of the year.

Coastguard boats, vessels from the EU's naval operation EUNAVFOR Med and its border agency Frontex, a boat from NGO SOS Mediterranee and two tug boats from an offshore oil platform were all involved in the rescue operations.

Every search and rescue asset in the area was deployed, the coastguard said.

No breakdown of the nationalities of the people rescued was immediately available.

The overwhelming majority of those arriving in Italia so far this year have been from sub-Saharan Africa, and officials say there is no sign yet of Middle Eastern refugees switching to the Libyan route to Europe en masse following moves to restrict access from The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

Explosion in Kandahar leaves 4 civilians dead, 5 wounded

The incident took place around 7 am local time in the vicinity of Shahwali Kot district targeting a vehicle of the civilians.

Provincial governor’s front man Samim Khpolwak said a passenger mini van struck an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by the bully boys.

He said an investigation is underway regarding the incident and there are fears that the corpse count would rise.

No group including the Talibs has so far grabbed credit behind the incident.

The Taliban murderous Moslems and Lions of Islam belonging to the other holy warrior groups are frequently using Improvised Explosive Device (IED) as the weapon of their choice to target the security forces.

The IEDs are the main contributors to the casualties of the Afghan cops but are also considered as a key factor in growing civilian casualties.

At least 11 civilians belonging to a same family were killed in a similar attack in northern Baghlan province of Afghanistan last week.

Red Arch's daughter marries a vrou, booted out of the SA Anglican clergy
[WAPO] In a country still deeply riven by division over differences -- in race, class, political affiliation and more -- it is Mpho Tutu's "sameness" to her new wife that has created a stir.
The Anglican church apparently still has standards.
Tutu (now Tutu-Van Furth) is the daughter of South Africa's first black archbishop and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, and is really only the "same" as her wife in one way -- they are both women. But in almost every other imaginable way, they are different. Tutu is black, South African, a devout priest and, as she puts it, "vertically challenged." Marceline Tutu-Van Furth is lanky, Dutch, atheist and a professor of pediatric diseases in Amsterdam.

South Africa's Anglican church, where Tutu-Van Furth until recently practiced as a priest, isn't ready to accept those with alternative sexualities as members of its clergy. Tutu-Van Furth was ordained at the Historic Christ Church in Alexandria, Va., and since the Episcopal Church, the U.S.-based branch of the Anglican Communion, accepts priests who have entered into same-sex marriages, she can still practice in the United States.

Forensics chief denies EgyptAir blast claims
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Egypt's head of forensics denied reports that an initial examination of human remains belonging to victims aboard the EgyptAir jet that crashed in the Mediterranean pointed towards an kaboom, state news agency MENA said on Tuesday.

"Everything published about this matter is completely false, and mere assumptions that did not come from the Forensics Authority," MENA quoted Hesham Abdelhamid as saying in a statement.

Hesham Abdel Hameed, head of the justice ministry's forensics department, also denied that the reports were accurate, according to the website of state-owned Al-Ahram newspaper.

It reported Abdel Hameed as saying such comments are hypothetical and could not have been issued by the department or any of its forensics doctors.

"No trace of any explosives has been found so far on debris or body parts," one source told AFP.

"When a plane crashes, an kaboom takes place at some stage or another, reducing the plane to pieces," another source said.
This is "either as a result of mechanical failure or a criminal act, or when the plane hits the sea after falling 11 kilometres, as in this case".

"This does not advance the investigation, unless we find traces of an explosive, which is not the case at this stage," the source added.

Hours earlier, the News Agency that Dare Not be Named quoted a senior Egyptian forensics official who claimed that human remains retrieved from the crash site suggest there was an kaboom on board that may have brought down the aircraft.

AP said the official is part of the Egyptian investigative team and has personally examined the remains at a Cairo morgue. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he isn’t authorized to release the information.

He said all 80 pieces brought to Cairo so far are small and that "there isn’t even a whole body part, like an arm or a head." The official adds that "the logical explanation is that it was an kaboom."

All 66 people on board were killed when the Airbus 320 crashed in the Mediterranean early Thursday while en route from Gay Paree to Cairo.

Investigators are still searching for Airbus A320's two black boxes on the seabed as they seek answers as to why the aircraft came down early on Thursday.

UAE residents call for execution of Sharjah child murderer
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] UAE residents have taken to social media to demand their anger and shock of the recent killing of a seven-year-old in Sharjah, with some calling for the public execution of his murderer.

The body of Obaida Ibrahim al-Aqrabawi was discovered in the Al Warqa area of Dubai on Sunday after missing for two days. He was last seen playing outside his home in the Industrial Area of Sharjah.

Jordanian Nedal Issa Abdullah, 48, has been placed in durance vile
Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un!
on suspicion of raping and killing Obaida. Police said he has admitted the crime but as yet, has not stood trial.

Dubai Police Chief Major General Khamis Al Muzeina said the child was kidnapped from in front of a garage in Sharjah’s industrial area, where the boy’s father worked.

"The forensics doctor said that the boy had been dead for less than 24 hours and had been strangled," said Maj Gen Al Muzeina. "There were signs of struggle on the boy’s chest and hands as well as signs that he had been sexually assaulted.

The maximum penalty for murder is execution by firing squad.

On Monday, a hashtag titled ’execute Obaida’s killer in public’ was trending on Twitter and had been seen by almost one million users, according to tweetreach.com, reported UAE daily newspaper 7days.

Afghanistan
Mullah Mansoor frequently used Karachi airport to travel to other countries
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The supreme leader of the Taliban group Mullah Akhtar Mansoor was frequently using Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
airport to travel to other countries with reports suggesting he travelled abroad through Jinnah International airport for at least 18 times.

However,
Switzerland makes more than cheese...
a local news channel in Pakistain has reported that Mullah Mansoor travelled to Dubai 9 times using the airport and once to Bahrain.

Citing the travel history of Mullah Mansoor, the local Geo.tv reported Mullah Mansoor travelled between the three countries from 2006 to 2012.

Muallah Mansoor first landed in Karachi via a private airline flight on the 12th of March 2006 from Dubai and approximately five months later caught a flight with the same airline to Dubai on the 23 August 2006 only to return on the 4th of October the same year, according to his travel history.

He was among the prominent commanders of the group when he was travelling to the other countries and his flights have been reported to be in September of 2007, 3rd of October 2007, 11th January 2008, 23rd November 2008, 5th December 2008, 2nd January 2010, 24th January 2010.

His last travelled has been reported to take place in 2012 when he caught a flight to Dubai on the 26th of January.

The records available show, pictures of Mullah Mansour aka Wali Muhammad taken at the immigration counter, as well as in the airport premises.

Mullah Mansoor was killed in an Arclight airstrike carried out by the US forces in the vicinity of Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
province late on Saturday afternoon.
Al Ahram adds:
Slain Afghan Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mansour used a Pakistani passport in a false name to make dozens of foreign trips over a ten-year period, mainly to the United Arab Emirates, officials told AFP Tuesday. The relevation casts further light on the degree of assistance likely given by Islamabad to him and other senior Taliban figures as they orchestrated a deadly insurgency against Afghan and US-led troops.

After years of denial, Pakistan in March openly admitted that it was providing shelter to Afghan Taliban forced to flee their own country after they were toppled from power in 2001.

Mansour, who was killed in a US drone strike deep inside Pakistani territory on Saturday along with a driver, was travelling with a passport and ID card bearing the name "Muhammad Wali".

Three investigation officials said Mansour used the passport for extensive travel, mainly between the southern Pakistani city of Karachi and Dubai in the UAE but also to Iran. He travelled 37 times, mostly to Dubai from Karachi, during the last 10 years, a senior investigating official told AFP. The official said Mansour first used the passport to travel to Dubai from Karachi in March 2006.

A second official confirmed the trips, adding: "He also travelled to Dubai from Quetta (in southwest Pakistan) on July 16, 2015."

The official said he last left for Iran on April 25 and returned on the morning of May 21, the day he fell victim to the drone strike.

Thanks to the ISI and the government of Pakistan we probably walked right by the King of the Taliban himself unawares. He was probably visiting the five detainees that Obama released...Fazl, Wasiq and company. This pisses me off.

India-Pakistan
Five ‘IS-linked’ navy officers get death sentence in dockyard attack case
[DAWN] ISLAMABAD: A Navy tribunal sentenced five officers to death in the Sept 6, 2014, Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
Naval Dockyard attack case, father of one of the convicts said on Monday.

Retired Major Saeed Ahmed told Dawn that in a trial his son, Sub-Lieutenant Hammad Ahmed, and four other naval officers had been convicted of the naval dockyard attack that took place on Defence Day around two years ago.

He said the five were charged with having links with the myrmidon Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group, mutiny, hatching a conspiracy and carrying weapons in the dockyard.

However,
if you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning...
according to media reports, the attackers were purportedly planning to hijack the warship PNS Zulfiqar to use it in an attack on one of the US navy’s refuel ships. Two bandidos bandidos bully boys were killed and four others were apprehended by security personnel.

Mr Saeed said that the naval authorities did not provide his son the right to a fair trial.

"I wrote a letter to the Judge Advocate General (JAG) of the navy on August 15, 2015, asking him to provide the opportunity of a defence counsel to my son," he said. "The navy JAG on Sept 21 replied that the option of defence counsel would be available at the time of trial."

Mr Saeed said that he was waiting for the commencement of the trial when someone recently informed him that his son had been shifted to the Karachi central prison.

The retired army officer came to know about the conclusion of the trial and capital punishment when he went to Karachi and met his son and his four colleagues -- Irfanullah, Muhammad Hammad, Arsalan Nazeer and Hashim Naseer -- in prison.

"My son told me that a naval court had awarded death penalty to him and four other officers after a secret trial," he claimed. "The convicted officers informed me that the naval court concluded the trial on April 12 and promulgated the sentence on April 14."

He said that naval authorities did not provide him copies of the proceedings of the trial when he approached them for the same.

The convict’s father said that he would file an appeal against the judgement before the naval court of appeal.

He claimed that his son and others had been made scapegoats, as this was not the first time when such security lapses came to light.

He said the five officers had been in the navy for only four to five years and they were not capable of seizing a warship and using it for a banned outfit.

In July 2015, the naval authorities informed the Islamabad High Court (IHC) that a ’missing’ sub-lieutenant, Hafiz Ehsanullah Sajjad, was in their custody in connection with the naval dockyard attack case.

Safia Ismail, the wife of the ’missing’ officer, had filed a petition before the IHC stating that her husband was detained by the navy without any charge. She said that he was taken away from his residence in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi, by "some people in plain clothes on the evening of Sept 6, 2014".

She said that her father, who was also a retired Navy officer, had tried to ascertain his whereabouts but to no avail.

Meanwhile,
...back at the pond, the radioactive tadpoles grown into frogs. Really big frogs, in fact...
officials of the Pakistain Navy’s directorate of public relations were not available when Dawn tried to contact them for official confirmation.

BDS is anti-constitutional, discriminatory — Spanish tribunal
[IsraelTimes] Citing anti-discrimination laws, special court says local boycott efforts ’jeopardize the fundamental right to equality’

Citing anti-discrimination laws, a Spanish constitutional tribunal recommended scrapping a municipality’s motion calling for a boycott against Israel.

The Ministerio Fiscal, an advisory judicial authority charged with guaranteeing equality in the judiciary, made the recommendation this month, according to a statement by ACOM, a Spanish pro-Israel lobby. The recommendation came after ACOM sued the northern municipality of Gijon for declaring itself "a space free of Israeli apartheid."

The motion, passed in January, also said the city would not pay for the services of firms implicated in "human rights
...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty...
violations" in Paleostinian territories. It said the city supports the BDS movement, which calls for boycotts, sanctions and divestment against Israel. Gijon, a city of 270,000 residents, is located 290 miles north of Madrid.

But the Ministerio Fiscal said in its nonbinding recommendation that the objectives of Gijon’s boycott "violate the constitution as well as the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights." The motion’s clauses, according to the tribunal, "jeopardize the fundamental right to equality without discrimination on the bases of appearance, ethnicity and religion."

A motion similar to the one passed in Gijon was defeated last week by a majority of delegates in Tarragona, an eastern Spanish city with 130,000 residents. Tarragona is the fifth Spanish municipality where BDS motions have failed in recent weeks, while motions supporting an Israel boycott have passed in four Spanish municipalities.

Spain’s government has repeatedly expressed its opposition to BDS, which is illegal in neighboring La Belle France because it is deemed discriminatory. Britannia’s ruling party is formulating similar legislation, officials said earlier this year.

Long seen as a hub of anti-Israeli lobbying in Europe, Spain has recently taken actions that angered BDS promoters, including a January offer of $107,000 in compensation for damages caused to an Israeli West Bank university due to its exclusion from a scientific competition for political reasons.

Unlike the parliaments of Britannia, La Belle France and other European countries, which have pledged unconditional support for Paleostinian statehood, Spain’s Congress in 2014 passed a nonbinding motion saying it would only support a Paleostinian state reached by a peace agreement through talks with Israel ‐ language that was hailed as a diplomatic victory for Israel and its supporters.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Prince would-be heirs object to genetic testing
[FRANCE24] Two people who say they are heirs to pop icon Prince have objected to a proposal by his estate to ask for genetic tests.
Sez here you have objections? No problem. Step to the back of the line please.
Prince died on April 21 without a will and with no recognized children, leaving a giant question mark on an estate that could be worth hundreds of millions of dollars and includes a vast vault of unreleased material.

Bremer Trust, a special administrator assigned to manage Prince's estate, said last week that it may wish to ask people claiming to be the "Purple Rain" star's descendants to undergo and pay for genetic tests.

In a legal filing made public Tuesday, two people who recently came forward as heirs said that they had already offered sufficient proof under law of their relationship to Prince in his home state of Minnesota.

The proposal by Bremer Trust would "grant it complete unfettered discretion to determine when to require parties claiming genetic relationship" to Prince to undergo tests, the filing said.

The objection was filed by Brianna Nelson, who says she is the sole living child of Prince's late half-brother Duane Nelson, and the guardian of an 11-year-old said to be the daughter of Duane Nelson's son, who has also died.

Duane Nelson had headed security for Prince but later became estranged. He died in 2011.

Another person who claims to be Prince's heir is Carlin Williams, a 39-year-old inmate from Kansas City whose mother says she had sex with the rocker in a hotel in 1976.

The court in Carver County, Minnesota, where Prince maintained his Paisley Park estate, has set a June 27 hearing to examine the proposal for genetic testing.

Taliban’s shadow governor for Helmand Mullah Manan killed in airstrike
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Taliban shadow governor for southern Helmand

province has been killed in Arclight airstrike in the restive Marjah district, local security officials said.

The Arclight airstrike was carried out late on Sunday night targeting the Mullah Manan and his fighters in the vicinity of Marjah district.

Provincial security chief Gen. Agha Noor Kentoz said Muallah Manan was initially injured in the attack and later died of his wounds.

He said the Arclight airstrike was carried out as part of Khanjar operations which were launched six days ago in Marjah to suppress the insurgency activities of the Talibs.

The Talibs group has not commented regarding the report so far.

This comes as at least 8 holy warriors were killed during an attack on the Taliban prison in Marjah district earlier.

The Ministry of Defense said 7 holy warriors were also jugged

Afghanistan
Will new Army Secretary Eric Fanning go to bat for SFC Earl D. Plumlee ?
[Wash Times] A year after a Special Forces soldier was denied the Medal of Honor, the nation’s top award for valor in combat, a congressman has appealed to the new Army secretary to review the case.
SFC Plumlee on the right with 'Electric Bayonet' shoulder patch.
Army Secretary Eric Fanning was sworn in as the service’s top civilian leader last week, and almost immediately received a letter from Rep. Duncan D. Hunter (R.-Calif.) about Sgt. 1st Class Earl D. Plumlee. The Green Beret soldier was nominated for the Medal of Honor for his role in repelling a brutal ambush in Afghanistan in 2013. He received recommendations for the prestigious award from several of the military’s most powerful officers, but was ultimately denied last year by then-Army Secretary John McHugh. Plumlee instead received the Silver Star, which is two levels below the Medal of Honor in recognizing combat heroism.

The case has been investigated by the Defense Department inspector general’s office and pressed by Hunter, who became a vociferous critic of McHugh in his last year in office. Hunter is looking to resurrect Plumlee’s case now in part by noting that McHugh chose to approve the lower award after learning that Plumlee faced a criminal investigation in the Army for allegedly selling a rifle scope online illegally. That raised questions about whether the service only wants recipients of its top awards who have a sparkling overall record. Plumlee has since been cleared of any charges.

"As a member of the House Armed Services Committee and a former Marine Corps officer who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, and having worked many valor cases, I can state that Plumlee’s actions most certainly meet or exceed the criteria for the MoH," Hunter wrote in a May 19 letter to Fanning. "Further, I encourage you to compare his actions to other MoH recipients -- I am confident that you will agree that Plumlee’s actions are significantly underrepresented by the Silver Star award."

Wayne Hall, an Army spokesman, said the service has received Hunter’s letter and "will respond accordingly." He declined to make additional comment. Plumlee could not be reached for comment.

Afghanistan
No specific timeframe for the conclusion of peace deal with Hezb-e-Islami: ARG
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Presidential Palace announced Tuesday that there is no specific timeframe for the conclusion of peace deal with Hezb-e-Islami led by Gulbuddin Hekmatyar
... who used to be known in intelligence circles as The Most Evil Man in the World but who now seems merely run-of-the-mill evil...
Deputy presidential front man Syed Zafar Hashemi told news hounds that grinding of the peace processor is always complicated and it would be a mistake to confirm a timeframe regarding the peace agreement.

Hashemi further added that small and big changes normally takes place everyday, in every seconds and at the final seconds of grinding of the peace processor.

He said the Afghan government will update the Afghan people once the two sides reach to an agreement.

This comes as the Afghan government signed the draft peace agreement with Hezb-e-Islami last week.

Deputy Chief Executive Mohammad Khan told news hounds last week that the draft agreement has been signed and will become enforceable once the Hezb-e-Islami party signs it.

Meanwhile,
...back at the pond, the enormous newt was trying to decide if Gloria was edible...
the Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah
... the former foreign minister of the Northern Alliance government, advisor to Masood, and candidate for president against Karzai. Dr. Abdullah was born in Kabul and is half Tadjik and half Pashtun...
said Sunday that the Afghan government is close to conclude a peace deal with Hezb-e-Islami led by Gulbuddin Hekmatyar.

Abdullah further added that negotiatiosn between the High Peace Council and Hezb-e-Islami are underway.

However,
the hip bone's connected to the leg bone...
he insisted that the national interests of the country and the Afghan people are a top priority in all key issues, insisting that there will be no negligence in this regard.

He also emphasized that anyone joining grinding of the peace processor should lay down arms, stop insurgency activities, respect the Afghan constitution and reach to an agreement with the government.

Europe
'Considerable Drop' in Mediterranean Migrant Deaths
[AnNahar] The number of migrants colonists dying while trying to cross the Mediterranean has fallen sharply, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) said Tuesday, voicing hope the lethal trend seen since 2013 may be turning.

This year, 1,370 migrants colonists and refugees have died trying to make the perilous crossings to Europe, on all routes -- a 24-percent drop compared to the 1,792 who had perished by this time last year, the IOM said.

So far in May, the toll stands at a total of 13 Mediterranean deaths, none of them on the eastern route between The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
and Greece, IOM said.

By comparison, across all routes a total of 330 migrants colonists and refugees perished trying to cross in May 2014, and 95 died during this month a year ago.

This marks "a considerable drop," IOM front man Joel Millman told news hounds in Geneva.

He especially hailed the drop to zero deaths along the eastern route, where nearly 400 migrants colonists and refugees perished during the first four months of the year.

That steep decline in deaths between Turkey and Greece is not surprising however, after a controversial EU-Turkey deal struck in March has all but shut down that route.

"We attribute obviously this drop in fatalities reported to the extremely sharp drop in arrivals between Turkey and Greece," Millman acknowledged.

In April, arrivals to Greece plunged nearly 90 percent, falling to 3,360 from 26,971 in March, according to IOM figures.

Under the March deal, Turkey agreed to take back migrants colonists landing on Greek islands in exchange for incentives, including billions of euros in aid and visa-free European travel for its citizens.

The agreement is the cornerstone of the EU's plan to curb a crisis that has seen 1.25 million Syrian, Iraqi, Afghan and other migrants colonists enter Europe since January 2015.

But Millman said the dramatically lower Mediterranean corpse count this month also appeared to be connected with increased efforts by the Libyan coasties to stop migrants colonists from setting off on dangerous voyages, as well as more rescues at sea.

"In the last 24 hours, more than 2,700 migrants colonists were rescued between Europe and Libya by various vessels at sea," Millman said, adding he was "encouraged by the sharp drop in fatalities."

He voiced hope that "the period of stark lethality that has been going on since 2013 may have run its course."

"Maybe we will see a safer summer than we had anticipated a few weeks ago," he said.

Iran Arrests Saudi-sent Terrorists
[ENGLISH.ALMANAR.LB] Iran has apprehended a number of Lions of Islam tasked by Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
with carrying out bombings inside the Islamic Theocratic Republic, a senior Iranian official announced on Monday.

"The Saudis opened a consulate in Iraq’s Arbil and had a number of terrorist groups enter into Iran to carry out kabooms; they all have been tossed in the slammer
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
," Mohsen Rezaei, the secretary of Iran’s Expediency Council, said, referring to the capital of the Iraqi Kurdistan.

"The Foreign Ministry should circulate the documents and evidence pertaining to these groups throughout the world so that at least Muslim countries get to know that Saudis maniacally disturb the region’s calm and secure scene and pursue terror acts."

He also advised that Iranian authorities stop exercising patience with Riyadh, and act against its acts of instigation.

On Sunday, it was reported that Iran had captured two ISIS Lions of Islam in the country’s western province of Hamadan which borders the Iranian provinces of Kurdistan and Kermanshah near Iraq.

The province’s intelligence director general said the two, both Iranian nationals with links to ISIS, had been caught during two separate intelligence operations while they were en route to Tehran.

On Tuesday, Rezaei warned that a seditious push is underway against the Muslim world, with Wahhabism at its center.

"Wahhabism and Zionism are maniacally acting against the Muslim and resistance front every day," he said. "Their last measure was to prevent Iranian pilgrims from going on the Hajj pilgrimage," he added.

Kurdish-Arab alliance starts Raqqa operation
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] A US-backed alliance of Kurdish-Arab fighters has started to clear ISIS fighters from the area north of Raqqa, the jihadists' de facto capital, a US official confirmed Tuesday.

"The SDF (Syrian Democratic Forces) have begun operations to clear the northern countryside, so this is putting pressure on Raqqa," Baghdad-based US military front man Colonel Steve Warren said.

The US military will conduct air strikes in support of the "several thousand" SDF forces, some of whom have been trained and equipped by the United States.

Warren said the operation began earlier on Tuesday, and SDF forces had met little ISIS resistance across the sparsely populated area.

Approximately 3,000 to 5,000 IS fighters are in Raqqa, Warren said, noting it was not clear when an assault on the key city itself might eventually come.

A separate US official, speaking on condition of anonymity
... for fear of being murdered...
, said SDF troops were taking territory on their way to Raqqa, but "they are not attacking Raqa" itself.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitoring group, coalition warplanes on Tuesday carried out dozens of strikes north of Raqqa city.

If Raqqa falls, "it's the beginning of the end of their caliphate," Warren predicted.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Tuesday said Moscow was ready to coordinate with both the United States and the SDF in the offensive for Raqqa.

The SDF has a total of about 25,000 Kurdish fighters and about 5,000 Arab fighters.

ISIS fighters are using civilians as human shields in the group's de facto Syria capital Raqqa, a Syrian activist said Tuesday, complicating things for a Kurdish-Arab alliance which has launched an offensive in the area.

"They are using the civilians as a cover. So you'll find them in the same building. In a civilian building, you'll find two or three apartments for ISIS fighters," said Abdel Aziz al-Hamza, a co-founder of the Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently group.

"They also talk of some schools as places to stay because these schools have basements, something underground, so they are protected from the air strikes. And they are surrounded by civilian buildings."

There have been mounting concerns that the estimated 50,000 civilians believed to still be inside had nowhere to go. "The civilians are besieged, they can't leave their city," said Hamza, who fled Raqqa in January 2014 and has been living in Germany.

"ISIS doesn't let anyone leave the city. At the same time, life has become at least ten times more expensive in the city," he said, using another acronym for ISIS.

Jimmy Carter: Trump tapped a reservoir ‘of inherent racism’
[YAHOO] Former President Jimmy Carter
... the second worst president ever...
had some tough words on Monday for Donald Trump.
"Jimmy Carter" and "tough." That's a set of words you don't often see in one sentence.
Carter told the New York Times
...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...
that Trump, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, had "tapped a waiting reservoir there of inherent racism."
Every election it comes out. Romney and McCain were racists. Bob Dole was a racist. Both George Bushes were racists.
He also said Trump had violated human rights
...which are usually open to widely divergent definitions...
with some of his incendiary comments on the campaign trail. According to the Times, Carter cited Trump’s proposal to bar Muslims from the U.S. and his claim that Mexico is sending criminals across the U.S. border.
How does a proposal violate "human rights?" If you don't like it, argue against it.
"When you single out any particular group of people for secondary citizenship status, that’s a violation of basic human rights," the former president said.
How can people who aren't citizens have "secondary citizenship status?"
Carter, 91, gave the interview to the Times in order to highlight a Baptist conference he is hosting this fall to address race issues and social inequality. He told the paper that he has seen an increase of open racism.
From the time Bull Connor set the fire hoses and the dogs on people?
"I don’t feel good, except for one things: I think the country has been reawakened the last two or three years to the fact that we haven’t resolved the race issue adequately," he said.
We elected a man who was bi-racial and got one who was black.
He further said, "I think there’s a heavy reaction among some of the racially conscious Republicans against an African-American being president."
Maybe it's not his race? Maybe it's the fact that he's a communist?

Yemeni govt. demands Saleh, Houthi excluded
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Yemen’s government delegates to peace talks in Kuwait have demanded that deposed President President-for-Life Ali Abdullah Saleh
... Saleh initially took power as a strongman of North Yemen in 1977, when disco was in flower, but he didn't invite Donna Summer to the inauguration and Blondie couldn't make it...
be excluded from any political settlement, and that militias be disbanded before any agreement is reached.

The UN-backed unity government delegates said Saleh and Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
Leader Abdel-Malek al-Houthi need to be excluded prior to any political agreements.

They also said militias need to be disbanded before any settlement can be reached.

The delegation has also urged militias to release Defense Minister Maj. Gen. Mahmoud al-Subaihi and other political prisoners.

Subaihi was leading a counter-offensive against the Houthis in Lahij governorate in March last year when he was captured by militia forces along with Faisal Rajab, commander of the pro-Hadi 119th Armored Brigade.

They also called for the immediate release of journalists imprisoned in Houthi militia prisons, who have reportedly been on hunger strike while in jug.

Peace talks in Kuwait ended with no resolutions as yet after the government representatives returned to the negotiating table, with close sources reporting that no topics of major disagreements and controversial topics being discussed during the last meeting.

UN envoy to Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed said in a statement that a joint meeting was held between the two delegations which have gathered in Kuwait and later he met with them separately.

He urged the two parties "to exert all efforts to achieve a sustainable solution for the sake of easing the suffering of Yemenis."

"Any delay, retreat or boycott will take us backward and slow down the solution Yemenis are waiting for," Ould Cheikh Ahmed said.

State Department sets new single-day record for Syrian refugee approvals
The State Department admitted 80 Syrian refugees on Tuesday and 225 on Monday, setting a single-day record, as President Obama tries to meet his target of 10,000 approvals this year — renewing fears among security analysts who say the administration is cutting corners to meet a political goal.

Officials insist they are moving faster because of improvements in screening and say they are still running all the traps on applicants. But the spike is stunning, with more people accepted Monday alone than in the entire months of January or February.

“The Obama administration is on full throttle to admit as many people as possible before the time clock runs out on them,” said Jessica Vaughan, policy studies director at the Center for Immigration Studies. “This is the classic scenario when political expediency trumps prudence, and someone slips through who shouldn’t have, and tragedy ensues.”

Powerless to stop the civil war in Syria, Mr. Obama has instead offered the U.S. as a haven for some of those fleeing the conflict. He promised to accept 10,000 refugees from Oct. 1 through Sept. 30. As of Tuesday evening, the administration had approved 2,540 — an average of about 10 applications a day.

To meet the 10,000 goal, approvals will have to rise to nearly 60 a day.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the agency charged with vetting the applications, declined to comment on the surge and referred all questions to the State Department, which gives final approval. Officials there insisted that they can meet Mr. Obama’s goal without sacrificing security.
They also promised that we could keep our doctors, that the IRS wasn't harassing anyone, and that Benghazi was the fault of a dumb-assed videographer...
From February through April, the department deployed extra staff to Jordan, where some 12,000 applicants referred by the U.N. were interviewed. The department is also conducting interviews of Syrians in Lebanon and Iraq and said everything is going according to plan.

“Increases in processing capacity have improved our capacity to meet the 10,000 target for Syrian refugee admissions for this fiscal year. As such, we expect Syrian refugee arrivals to the U.S. to increase steadily throughout the fiscal year,” an agency official said.

The department says refugees undergo the most checks of anyone applying to enter the U.S. and that Syrians are getting as much scrutiny as possible.
Define "as possible"...
But pressure to speed up the process is growing. Last week, Senate Democrats, led by Sen. Richard J. Durbin of Illinois, fired off a letter that said other countries are approving refugees faster and demanded that the administration catch up.

“Refugees are victims, not perpetrators, of terrorism,” the Democrats wrote.
Yes, he's my idiot Senator...
In January, however, two men who arrived as part of the refugee program were charged with terrorism-related offenses.
Dick doesn't have an opinion about that...
One of them, Iraqi-born Aws Mohammed Younis Al-Jayab, was living in Syria when he was admitted as a refugee in 2012. The State Department counts him as part of its Iraqi refugee program, not the Syrian refugee program.

The Obama administration has repeatedly cited the Iraqi program as evidence that it can safely admit refugees from Syria. But security analysts say the U.S., by dint of the long war in Iraq, has access to government databases and a presence on the ground to help verify refugee applicants’ stories.

The U.S. has no such access in Syria, where it considers the regime an enemy and much of the country is occupied by terrorist forces from the Islamic State.

Critics say the Obama administration is too heavily focused on Muslim refugees and has left hundreds of thousands of Christians behind. Statistics show only a dozen Christian refugees from Syria have been accepted so far — a rate of less than one-half of 1 percent.

More than 97 percent are Sunni Muslims.
That's because our current administration hates Christians...

Swiss approve dissolution of scandal-hit bank BSI
[Al Ahram] Swiss financial regulators approved Tuesday the dissolution of Lugano-based BSI Bank over its links to a corruption scandal engulfing Malaysia's Prime Minister Najib Razak.

Swiss supervisor FINMA accused BSI, a merchant bank, of "serious breaches" of money-laundering regulations in its dealings with the Malaysian sovereign wealth fund 1MDB, which is at the heart of the corruption allegations.

In the toughest punitive action yet announced in the affair, FINMA said in a statement it was approving the takeover of the merchant bank by Zurich-based private banking group

EFG International on the condition that BSI is integrated "and thereafter dissolved" within 12 months.

Greeks move migrants out of tent camp on Macedonian border
Greek police started moving migrants and refugees out of a sprawling tent camp on the sealed northern border with Macedonia on May 24, where thousands have been stranded for months trying to get into Western Europe.

Reuters witnesses saw several busloads of migrants leaving the makeshift camp of Idomeni early on May 24, with about another dozen buses lined up. It appeared to be mainly families who were on the move.

Greek authorities said they planned to move individuals gradually to state-supervised facilities further south in an operation expected to last several days.

“The evacuation is progressing without any problem,” said Giorgos Kyritsis, a government spokesman for the migrant crisis.

A Reuters witness on the Macedonian side of the border said there was a heavy police presence in the area but no problems were reported as people with young children packed up huge bags with their belongings. Media on the Greek side of the border were kept at a distance and a group of people dressed as clowns waved balloon hearts and animals as the buses drove past.

“Those who pack their belongings will leave, because we want this issue over with. Ideally by the end of the week. We haven’t put a strict deadline on it, but more or less that is what we estimate,” Kyritsis told Reuters.

At the latest tally, 8,199 people were camped at Idomeni after a cascade of border shutdowns throughout the Balkans in February barred migrants and refugees from central and northern Europe. More than 12,000 lived in the camp at one point.

The International Rescue Committee’s country director, Panos Navrozidis, said on-site pre-registration had proved a good incentive for refugees to leave Idomeni although the asylum process remained “inadequate and slow.”

Railway tracks between Greece and Macedonia have been blocked by migrants for weeks, forcing trains to switch routes through Bulgaria further to the east. Some goods wagons have been stranded on the tracks for weeks.
An Nahar quantifies:
In an operation that began shortly after sunrise, Greek police said they had put more than 1,500 people on buses to newly opened camps near Greece's second city Thessalonika, about 80 km (50 miles) to the south. On Monday, Greece's migration spokesman Yiorgos Kyritsis said the operation to clear all 8,400 people living there would take at least 10 days.

Officials have said 6,000 spots are available at reception centers, with most of the migrants to be moved to camps at former industrial facilities near Thessaloniki.

Bulgaria to put more barbed wire along Turkish border, says PM
Bulgaria will increase the line of barbed wire along its border with Turkey, which it set up to stop the flow of migrants entering the country, from 30 to 146 kilometers in two months’ time, the country’s prime minister has said.

The 30-kilometer-long barbed wire fence along Bulgaria’s border with Turkey is not enough to stop migrants from crossing into Bulgaria and will thus be extended to 146 kilometers within the forthcoming two months, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov was quoted by Bulgarian News Agency BTA as saying.

Borissov’s comments came as he was inspecting the border line in a chopper along with the Bulgarian interior and defense ministers, according to Doğan News Agency.

Turkey has around 270 kilometers of border with Bulgaria.

'Gigantic' corporate tax hike likely headed to Oregon voters
[FOXNEWS] A massive $2.8 billion annual corporate tax hike is likely headed to Oregon voters in November, a move that could create the most aggressive tax climate for big business of any state in the nation.
After all the businesses leave the state they'll be able to concentrate on Agrarian Reform®.
The ballot proposal comes as raising taxes on the wealthy and large corporations is at the forefront of a national debate — especially among Democratic progressives such as Bernie Sanders and much of Oregon's electorate— about how to close the gaping economic disparities between rich and poor in a post-Great Recession era.

The proposal's labor-union backers are just one step from getting the measure on the ballot after submitting 130,000 signatures to state elections officials last week. They say it would tap a tiny portion of Oregon businesses while bringing a huge boost to cash-strapped public education, health care and senior services.

Calm near Syria capital after Russia calls for fighting freeze
[Al Ahram] Two key opposition-controlled areas near Syria's capital were relatively calm on Tuesday after appeals by Russia for a temporary freeze in fighting there, a monitor and an activist told AFP.

Fierce fighting had been rocking the besieged opposition-held town of Daraya, southwest of Damascus, and in Eastern Ghouta, a large rebel bastion east of the capital. But festivities subsided in both by Tuesday morning, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitoring group.

"It has been quiet in both areas since dawn," Observatory head Rami Abdel Rahman told AFP.

Daraya-based activist Shadi Matar confirmed that the shelling and festivities that had shaken his hometown over the past two weeks had stopped.

"There was fighting around midnight but it stopped around 1:00 am on Tuesday and it's been calm since then," he told AFP.

But he said fellow residents were sceptical that the quiet would hold.
"People don't believe (in these truces) like they did before. Their morale is low and they don't trust anyone," he told AFP.

Late Monday, Russia called for a 72-hour freeze on fighting -- or "regime of silence" -- in Eastern Ghouta and Daraya starting on Tuesday.

Both areas are supposed to be included in a broader ceasefire brokered by the US and Russia that came into place on February 27 but has since faltered.

Daraya was one of the first towns to erupt in anti-regime protests in 2011, and was one of the first areas to be placed under crippling government siege in late 2012.

The US and Russia have both pushed for local truces as a way to bolster the collapsing three-month ceasefire.

The terrorist group also commanded its gunnies to put on uniforms that resemble those of the Popular Mobilization Forces and kill the prisoners in Fallujah before shooting and circulating the images which show the murders.

ISIS further threatened the faceless myrmidons of killing all who may betray the group, calling on them to move their families to safer areas.

50,000 Iraqi civilians ‘at great risk’ in Fallujah
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The United Nations
...an idea whose time has gone...
called Monday for "safe corridors" to be set up to allow Iraqi civilians to flee a military offensive against ISIS in Fallujah.

Some 50,000 civilians in the city are at "great risk" during a campaign against ISIS fighters by the Iraqi army backed by militias, said UN front man Stephane Dujarric.

"One of the problems is that civilians are under grave danger as they try to flee," he said.

"It is important that they have some safe corridors they could use."

Iraqi forces on Monday launched an offensive to retake Fallujah,
... the City of Mosques, which might have somthing to do with why it's not called Center of Prosperity or a really nice place to raise your kids...
which became an ISIS stronghold after its fighters seized the city in January 2014.

The UN front man said some civilians were able to flee and were receiving emergency assistance, shelter and water, but he did not provide figures.

Women and children were taken to a location south of Fallujah and men to central Anbar for security screening, said the front man.

The United Nations is "very concerned" about the fate of civilians and mobilizing its aid partners to assess the situation and send help, he added.

On Sunday, Iraq's Joint Operations Command warned civilians still in the city to leave.

It urged families that could not depart to raise a white flag over their location and stay away from ISIS headquarters and gatherings.

Fallujah and djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
, the capital of the northern province of Nineveh, are the last two major cities ISIS holds in Iraq.

India-Pakistan
The Taliban tightrope
[DAWN] THE killing of Mullah Akhtar Mansour signals a more aggressive US policy stance, as hopes of the Afghan Taliban coming to the negotiating table fade. The death of the recently elected Taliban leader, who had only just managed to consolidate his authority over the group, has given a new twist to the festering Afghan crisis. That the attack was carried out well inside Pakistain’s territory has worsened the predicament -- exposing Pakistain’s vulnerability in balancing an alliance with the United States with maintaining relations with the Afghan Taliban.

Authorised personally by President B.O., the strike marks the most significant American incursion into Pakistain since the 2011 US forces raid that killed the late Osama bin Laden
... who is now neither a strong horse nor a weak horse, but a dead horse...
. By striking in Balochistan

Nisar slams US for violating Pakistan’s sovereignty, sabotaging Afghan peace talks
[DAWN] Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan
...Currently the Interior Minister of Pakistain. He is the senior leader of the Pak Moslem League (N) and a close aide to Nawaz Uncle Fester Sharif. He is noted for his vocal anti-American railing in the National Assembly. However (comma) Khan told the U.S. ambassador that he was in fact pro-American but he and the PML-N would have to be critical of US actions in order to remain publicly credible. Khan cited his wife and children's US citizenship as proof, which means he's lying to one side or the other and probably both. He wears a wig, but you probably guessed that. since hair doesn't grow naturally in that shape or texture...
on Tuesday slammed the US government for carrying out air strike inside Pak territory saying it was "totally illegal, not acceptable and against the illusory sovereignty and integrity of the country", he also accused Washington of "sabotaging the peace talks with Afghan Taliban".

"The US government said Mullah Mansour was targeted because he was against the grinding of the peace processor." Did they forget that when Afghan Taliban and Afghan government met for talks in Murree, it was Mullah Mansour who was leading the group, said Nisar.

Nisar criticised the US government, saying the air strike was "totally illegal, not acceptable and against the illusory sovereignty and integrity of Pakistain". It is also against the UN Charter and the international law, he added.

The Beatings Will Continue: Mosul Edition
[ARA News] DUHOK – Extremist group of the Islamic State (ISIS) has executed eight of its own jihadis in Mosul city of Iraq’s northwestern Nineveh province on charges of “high treason”, local sources reported on Tuesday.

The eight militant fighters were captured after escaping the fighting front of al-Ratba, where clashes are still ongoing between ISIS and the Iraqi army.

“They were executed at the hands of their fellow militants. The dead bodies of the eight jihadis were then paraded in the streets of Mosul city,” media activist Jaafar Jabbawi told ARA News in Mosul.

The ISIS-linked Sharia Court issued a statement describing the executed fighters as “traitors” who deserved death.

“Leaving a fighting position without orders from the ISIS military leadership is considered a high treason and the perpetrators are brutally punished,” head of Nineveh media centre Raafat al-Zarari told ARA News.

According to al-Zarari, parading the dead bodies of those fighters is meant to terrorise other members of ISIS.

“The group is trying to hold its remaining positions after suffering heavy losses at the hands of the Kurdish Peshmerga and Iraqi army in several parts of Iraq,” the source said.

Baltimore Blames ‘White People’ After Cop Found Not Guilty In Freddie Gray Case
[DAILYCALLER] BALTIMORE, M.D. — Baltimore city residents expressed disappointment in response to the city circuit court Monday finding a police officer not guilty in connection to the death of Freddie Gray.

Officer Edward Nero was charged with several misdemeanor offenses after Gray died April, 2015, in his custody. Baltimore Circuit Judge Barry Williams found Nero not guilty of all charges just over a year later. Residents were not surprised given what they saw as racial bias in the criminal justice system.

“White people are turning a blind eye,” resident Mumin Soweto told The Daily Caller News Foundation. “We’re not the ones stirring up the racism.”

Mumin adds the black community is fearful 1960s style racism is on the rise. Nero was charged with second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and two counts of misconduct in office. The prosecution argued Nero and the five other officers involved were wrong in detaining Gray without a good reason and for not buckling him into a van he was transported in.
Yes, they were wrong for doing that, but it ain't murder.
“No one wants to play the race card but it’s hard not to see it that way,” city resident Mike Smith told TheDCNF. “That man had human rights just like everyone else.”

#2  I have found people from other countries who are dark complected shun the blacks here because of their racism and hatred of others as well as themselves. Well, I added the last part. I remember the riots well and they attacked their own people readily. In our universities the pressure to conform is greatest there. Good old peer pressure.

#4  And the driver of the van that actually had the responsibility and knowledge of restraining the prison I believe was black.

#5  But a black cop isn't a proper black, just as blacks from the Caribbean without the baggage of American slavery aren't proper black until they've been here a generation or two.

Very sad where black culture has gone and that anybody that holds up a mirror is vilified. I suspect history will not look kindly on Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson.

#8  I know history won't look kindly on Obama.

Obama didn't start the race hustle though (the way Jackson and Sharpton did), he just exploited it and made it worse. That's another topic.

Benighted, are often detected
By flashes of anger
And miserable clangor
At having been (eeek!) disrespected.

Europe
Dutch MPs vote to strip terrorists of dual nationality
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Dutch MPs voted on Monday to strip dual nationals of their Dutch citizenship if they join terror groups such as the so-called Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group to fight as jihadists, officials said.

"These jihadists can pose a threat to national security when they return to the Netherlands," the justice ministry said in a statement.

Some western governments want the right to strip terror suspects of their nationality if they are dual nationals, including those born in Europe.

With the exception of the far right movements, which firmly support the bill, the issue has divided political parties and raised a great deal of objection.

Australia's parliament has passed in December, a law to strip dual nationals of their citizenship for terrorism-related offenses.

An estimated 110 Australians are believed to be fighting with the ISIS.

In La Belle France, President Francois Hollande
...the Socialist president of La Belle France, an economic bad joke for la Belle France but seemingly a foreign policy realist...
has dropped, weeks ago, a controversial plans to change the constitution; plans which included a clause allowing convicted bully boyz to be stripped of their French nationality, if they are dual nationals. Solo Frenchies were not included in the proposed bill.
