NYC L&B Spumoni Gardens Pizza looking for new owner and boss
In a story seemingly ripped from an episode of "The Sopranos," a co-owner of Brooklyn-based pizzeria L&B Spumoni Gardens was fatally shot outside his home on Thursday night. Louis Barbati, 61, was shot twice in the torso, leaving at least two bullet holes in his family's white picket fence.

Mastermind of Istanbul Airport Attack Had Been Georgian Informant, Official Says
DESSA, Ukraine -- Sometimes the world of terror and counter terror is amazingly small.

The day after at least 43 people were killed and more than 235 injured in a terrorist attack on Istanbul’s international airport, Turkish officials announced the arrest of the alleged mastermind behind the attack: Akhmed Chatayev, an ethnic Chechen from Russia who, in the past, had traveled extensively in Ukraine, Austria and Georgia.

Here in the Black Sea port of Odessa, in Ukraine, Police Chief Gen. Giorgi Lortkipanidze knows all about Chatayev. The general used to be the deputy interior minister in Georgia, and for a while, he says, had Chatayev on the government payroll.

"A few years ago I recruited Chatayev, who was a good informer and negotiator between us and Islamist underground of the Northern Caucasus; with his help we prevented several terrorist attacks on Georgia," Gen. Lortkipanidze told The Daily Beast in an exclusive interview on Friday.

Czechout? - Anti-Migrant Czech President Calls For Referendum On EU Membership
(REUTERS) -- Czech President Milos Zeman called for the Czech Republic to hold a referendum on European Union and NATO membership following Britain’s shock vote to leave the EU, a suggestion quickly rebuffed by the government.

Zeman said on Thursday he would back his country staying in the EU and NATO. He has no power to call a referendum but is an influential leader in a country where euroscepticism is widespread. The Czech Republic joined the bloc in 2004.

"I disagree with those who are for leaving the European Union," Czech Radio quoted Zeman as saying at a meeting with citizens in the eastern town of Velke Mezirici late on Thursday.

"But I will do everything for them to have a referendum and be able to express themselves. And the same goes for a NATO exit too," the centre-left president said.
A jewel encrusted Fabergé egg and 80,000 Aeroflot bonus points to Zeman over the addition of the NATO comment.

Darrell Issa: ‘Tainted DoJ Cannot Be Trusted to Fairly Investigate Email Scandal
[Breitbart] Issa’s comments come in the wake of Attorney General Loretta Lynch’s secret Phoenix airport meeting with former President Bill Clinton amid a cloud of suspicion surrounding the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s apparently illegal private email server. Issa says the only way to achieve real justice now is for the voters to reject Hillary Clinton -- the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee -- in November.
So the 'Sky Harbor' meeting 'queers' the entire Benghazi-email, Trey Gowdy, DoJ process and we must now spend the next two years arguing over the appointment of an Independent Counsel or Special Prosecutor. A rather excellent move by Clinton and Lynch ek se.

More than 100 Nobel laureates have signed a letter urging Greenpeace to end its opposition to genetically modified organisms (GMOs). The letter asks Greenpeace to cease its efforts to block introduction of a genetically engineered strain of rice that supporters say could reduce Vitamin-A deficiencies causing blindness and death in children in the developing world.
The laureates don't realize that, for Greenpeace, there are too many people in the world.

Liberation of Palestine is ‘far away,’ laments Rouhani at al-Quds day rally
[IsraelTimes] Iranians staged anti-Israel rallies across the country for annual al-Quds Day events on the last Friday of Ramadan established by the late ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.

Tens of thousands joined the annual pro-Paleostinian rally in Tehran, where the usual threats against Israel combined with newer concerns about a region mired in bitter disputes and war.

Israel and its perceived supporters in the United States and Britannia were still the main bogeymen of the Quds (Jerusalem) Day protests, which saw huge crowds rally across Iranian towns and in allied countries.

Bangladesh security forces including commandos Saturday stormed a restaurant in the capital Dhaka where dozens of people including foreigners were being held hostage by suspected Islamist bully boys, a security official said.

Any survivors will be marched to a banana grove early tomorrow morning...
Update from An Nahar at 1:45 a.m. ET:
Bangladesh security forces ended a siege Saturday at a cafe in Dhaka where dozens of diners were being held captive and shot dead six of the hostage-takers, officials said.

"The operation is over. The situation is completely under control," army spokesman Colonel Rashidul Hasan told Agence France Presse.

Tuhin Mohammad Masud, a commander of the elite Rapid Action Battalion which stormed the cafe, said there had been a number of casualties, including six hostage-takers.

"We have gunned down six of the terrorists. The main area that they have been occupying has been cleared," Masud told India's Times Now television channel.

Six Killed in Kenya Bus Ambush
[AnNahar] Six people were killed on Friday when suspected Islamist gunnies fired on two buses in Kenya's far northeast close to the Somalia border, police said.

"Police on the scene have found six persons rubbed out," said police chief Joseph Boinnet. "The hunt for the Death Eaters is under way."

Boinnet said two people were also injured. It was unclear whether the casualties were civilians or police officer guards aboard the buses.

The early morning ambush happened near El Wak in Mandera county, an impoverished rural part of the country where similar deadly attacks in the past have been claimed by the Somali-led al-Qaeda group, the Shabaab.

On Thursday the US State Department issued a warning to its citizens to "avoid travel to the border areas of Kenya because of threats by the terrorist group al-Shabaab
... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...
" with El Wak and Mandera among the areas ruled off-limits.

A senior Kenyan interior ministry official said the warning was unfair because, "the security of the country has been restored."

"The country is very safe," said Karanja Kibicho shortly before news of the latest attack and killings broke.

Arabia
UN hands road map to Yemen’s warring sides
"Hey! Thanks for the kool toilet paper!"
UN envoy to Yemen said on Thursday that he offered Yemen’s warring sides a “road map” that includes a unity government and details a comprehensive political dialogue to end conflict in the southern Arabian Peninsula country.

Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed also the next two weeks will be “dedicated” to support consultation with the warring sides and their leaderships.

The diplomat made his statement following what he described as a two-week break in peace talks the day before.

He said the delegations would return to Kuwait on July 15 to “embark on a new phase” in the talks.

The UN-backed talks between Iran-backed Shiite Houthi rebels, who have seized control of large parts of the country, and President Abedrabbu Mansour Hadi’s government began in Kuwait on April 21.

Ould Cheikh Ahmed said Kuwait talks have tackled most of the contentious issues, indicating that “there is a big improvement” in delivering humanitarian aid to Yemen.

The envoy has urged both sides to make concessions to end the conflict, which has cost more than 6,400 lives since March 2015 and displaced 2.8 million people.

He also said the warring sides have agreed to transfer the pacification committee to Dhahran city, south of Saudi Arabia.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Sunday met the two delegations in Kuwait and urged them to accept the roadmap.

Despite a Saudi-led military intervention launched last year in support of Hadi’s government, the militias and their allies remain in control of many key areas territory, including the capital Sanaa.

GNA takes control of Tripoli ministry headquarters
The Yarmouk barracks in Tripoli’s Salahadeen district, previously used as the defence ministry’s main operating base, has been formally handed over to Government of the National Accord defence minister Colonel Mahdi Al-Barghathi.

Walking along a red carpet which had been specially laid out in the spruced-up camp, he and Presidency Council member Fathi Al-Majbri shook hands with a row of senior army officers at the start of the formal handover.

“The GNA option is the only peaceful choice for Libyans for stability. All other options are taking the country to new civil wars,” he said in a short speech in which he called on all Libyans any military groupings to support the GNA and help his ministry build up the legitimate armed forces in Libya.

He added that attempts try and take over the country by force would fail.

This is seen as reference both to the so-called Islamic State and to General Khalifa Hafter.

Majbri was more direct in criticising Hafter, although he did not mention him by name. He spoke of military officers who were trying very hard to impose their will on the country and convince people of the need to return to military rule as under the Qaddafi regime.

Acknowledging that the defence ministry was facing challenges to draw in all various military factions under its control, he added that the peaceful handover of the barracks was a significant boost for the GNA but that the country was living in critical times.

Hildebeest Scheduled To Meet With FBI On Saturday
[Daily Caller] Former Sec. of State Hillary Clinton is scheduled to meet Saturday with the FBI, a source close to the investigation into her private email server tells The Daily Caller.

The source went on to suggest the interview may take place at her Washington, D.C. home.

The bureau’s interview with the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee is believed to be the final step in its investigation into the potential mishandling of classified information on Clinton’s private email server.

Hundreds of now-classified documents -- some of them "Top Secret" -- were sent and received through Clinton’s private server, which she housed at her New York residence during her tenure at the State Department.

#11  Within the next two weeks or so, the expectation is there will be an announcement of no charges being brought against Clinton so long as no evidence of wrongdoing emerges from her interview with the FBI, sources familiar with the investigation told CNN. CNN has previously reported no charges were expected to be brought against Clinton because the investigators had not found evidence to warrant charges, according to multiple law enforcement officials. A Democrat close to Clinton said Saturday the campaign believes the FBI will announce its decision before the conventions.

Assuming she returned to Chappaqua at, say, 11:00 am this morning, this whole dog and pony show would have had to begin at 10:00 pm yesterday, and the interview would have begun at 0200 hours today.

Most business meetings begin at approximately 0800. If she returned to wherever it was she went after the interview at approximately 1000 hours (deduced from the timestamps of some of the news articles about the confab.), the meeting would have had to begin at approximately 0630, assuming she went into post-"interview" hiding directly next door to FBI HQ.

The timing numbers don't seem to work out.

6 Egyptian soldiers die in gunfight near Libya
Egypt’s military said six soldiers were killed in clashes with armed smugglers near the country’s western border with Libya on Thursday.

The soldiers were patrolling the border when they “came under surprise fire” from the smugglers, a military statement said, adding that a number of smugglers were killed in the exchange of fire.

Egypt has contended with militants in the western desert and along the border with Libya, as well as smugglers who bring in weapons and drugs across the long frontier.

It has also been battling a militant insurgency in its eastern Sinai peninsula that has killed hundreds of policemen and soldiers.

#1  Although the long Egypt-Libya border appears desolate the crossings between Sollum in the north and Jabal Uwainat at the Egypt-Libya-Sudan tripoint are numerous. Arms from Libya cross the border and are met at Farafra or Kharga oasis. The arms are then transported north to Cairo where they are shipped by truck or boat to the Sinai, or they are shipped across the Red Sea. It is the movement of Libyan arms that feeds the Sinai insurgency.

Syria warplane crashes near the capital, pilot missing
The pilot ain't missing. The rebels have him.
Syria’s official news agency says a warplane has crashed east of the capital Damascus due to “technical failure during a training mission.”

SANA says the search is on for the pilot, who successfully ejected from the Syrian warplane Friday. The eastern suburbs of Damascus, where the plane crashed, are held by rebels opposed to President Bashar Assad.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a monitoring group, says the plane appeared to have crashed because of technical failure, adding that the pilot was captured by rebels.

The Jaish al-Islam, or Army of Islam, rebel group, which operates east of Damascus says it shot down the plane. The report could not be confirmed.

Rebels in Syria have long called on their backers to arm them with anti-aircraft missiles against Syrian airstrikes.

OH hotel clerk freaks out over man in thobe speaking on cell phone
AVON, Ohio - A 911 call alleging that a hotel patron pledged his allegiance to ISIS caused panic at an Avon hotel earlier this week.

On Wednesday just before 6 p.m., the Avon Police Department received a 911 call from the sister of a woman working as a clerk at the Fairfield Inn and Suites on Colorado Avenue.

The caller said her sister told her there was a man in the hotel lobby "in full head dress with multiple disposable phones pledging his allegiance to ISIS."

According to police, she repeated that there was a "suspicious mal at the front desk with disposable phones, two of them, in a full head dress."
Apparently the head dress little resembled the one worn by Mel Brooks during his cinematic attack on schwarzes riding in a covered wagon. Now that the highest US legal authorities went stupid far out of their way to obscure a real ISIS inspired attack, the little people on the front lines now must make their own threat assessments, however ill-informed. Ibrahim Hooper of CAIR mentioned "anti-Muslim bigotry".

And you have got to imagine that ISIS has to be tearing its hair out at this point - they keep hitting us to try and provoke an apocalyptic response, and we keep insisting that it's not them. At this point, I'm picturing another four-figure-casualty scenario with clear video footage of men in traditional Muslim garb with signs around their necks saying "We Are Fearsome Muslim Terrorists" committing it, and the Government will insist that they were actually Quebecquois separatists...

IDF strikes Gaza targets in response to earlier rocket fire
[IsraelTimes] The Israeli Air Force attacked four targets in northern and central Gaza overnight Saturday-Friday, according to an IDF spokesperson, hours after a rocket fired from the Strip exploded outside a preschool in the border town of Sderot, causing damage to property.

The four sites included a workshop, two locations for the terrorist group Hamas’s armed wing and a military training site for terrorist group Islamic Jihad, a security official told AFP on condition of anonymity.

There were no reports of casualties resulting from the IDF airstrike, or from the earlier rocket fire.

A second rocket exploded in an open area in the Sha’ar Hanegev region, causing no damage.

The launches set off warning sirens throughout Sderot as well as other communities in the area.

It was the first rocket attack reported in June. Earlier in the month Hamas test-fired dozens of short-range rockets in Gaza, with Israeli sources estimating that at least 30 projectiles were launched. Those rockets were aimed at areas not under Israeli control,

Israel has seen sporadic fire from the Gaza Strip, usually claimed by small Salafi groups engaged in a power struggle with the Hamas terror group, which is the de facto ruler of the strip.

Israel has said repeatedly that it views Hamas as solely responsible for such attacks. It regularly responds to rocket-fire with airstrikes on Hamas targets.

ISIS extremists execute five Syrians on charges of spying for rebels in al-Bukamal

[ARA News] ALEPPO – Extremists of the Islamic State group (ISIS) executed five civilians in the city of al-Bukamal in Syria’s eastern Deir ez-Zor province after accusing them of “spying for enemies”, activists and eyewitnesses reported on Thursday.

ISIS has executed five young men on charges of cooperating with the US-backed rebels of the New Syrian Army in their campaign against the jihadi group in al-Bukamal city on the Syrian-Iraqi border.

“The five men were beheaded after being convicted of leaking security information about ISIS movements inside al-Bukamal to the New Syrian Army fighters,” a local media activist told ARA News, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Also, ISIS media office in Deir ez-Zor province released a video showing the execution of the five men.

This comes as the western-backed New Syrian Army continue their offensive against ISIS positions in al-Bukamal for the fifth day, aiming at capturing the main ISIS-held crossing on the Syrian-Iraqi border and cut off the group’s supply lines there.

The panamax index rose 29 points, or 4.38 percent, to 691 points.
Average daily earnings for panamaxes, which usually carry coal or grain cargoes of about 60,000 to 70,000 tonnes, increased $232 to $5,528.

Among smaller vessels, the supramax index rose 8 points to 627 points, while the handysize index rose 2 points to 344 points.

DSP killed in DI Khan, one dead in Peshawar explosion
PESHAWAR: A police official was killed in the provincial capital on Thursday when suspected militants detonated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).

“Unknown miscreants planted a bomb at a roadside in the jurisdiction of Faqirabad police station,” said police officials.

Police officials added that the objective was to target Qari Asghar, a local resident, over old enmity.

A police official, who was on duty outside the residence of a judge, was killed in the explosion while four other people were injured in the explosion.

In a separate attack a deputy superintendent of police, from the counter-terrorism department (CTD), was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in the Dayal road area of DI Khan.

The attackers escaped unharmed after the attack.

The province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been on the front line in Pakistan's war on terror, and has suffered from a low-intensity conflict for years.

The conflict has claimed thousands of lives during the last decade, and has been punctuated by some high-profile and high-visibility attacks.

Fat Boy Sleeps it Off during Parliament Meeting
North Korean leader Pudgy Kim Jong-un was caught on camera taking a nap in a meeting of the rubberstamp parliament where he was named chairman of a new organ called the Commission on State Affairs.
Not like they were doing anything important...
State TV broadcast 25 minutes of footage from the Supreme People's Assembly meeting Wednesday and showed Kim sitting suspiciously still for several seconds after turning a few pages of documents on top of his desk. His head drooped -- and the camera suddenly panned away to the audience.
And the camera operator is now turning pebbles into sand...
A source said there are widespread rumors that the corpulent Kim enjoys drinking into the small hours, so perhaps he was sleeping it off.
Pray for cirrhosis...
Chubby Kim boasted to his father's former sushi chef, Kenji Fujimoto, in May that he has drunk 10 bottles of Bordeaux in one night.

Other North Korean officials caught snoozing in important meetings risk their lives. Hyon Yong-chol, the armed forces minister, was executed in public on charges of disobedience after he was caught dozing off in a meeting in April last year presided over by Suet Face Kim, according to the National Intelligence Service.

And the execution of Kim's uncle and former eminence grise Jang Song-taek was precipitated by his failure to applaud his nephew with sufficient zeal while lounging in a chair.

Taiz: 7 Hours of Combat Take Down 40 Houthi Snipers
That's a lotta snipers!
Taiz- Hours after U.N. Special Envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed announced suspending Yemeni peace talks held in Kuwait, to be resumed mid next month, violent clashes erupted between national army forces and insurgency militia in Taiz, a city located in the Yemeni Highlands.

The truce still is in effect, despite the unwarranted violations of insurgency militias which include Houthi fighters and pro-Saleh militants (militants supporting ousted Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh). Most of the clashes took place in the northern side of the Taiz governorate.

Pro-legitimacy forces stood in the way of militias advancing further into territory. Popular Resistance forces confronted insurgency militias, securing the 35th armored brigade zone established at old Taiz airport and central prison.

Wars renewed among embattled insurgency militants and Yemeni pro-legitimacy forces also across the eastern wing of Thaabat.

The battles witnessed extensive shelling, and many were reported dead or injured among both conflict sides.

Spokesman for the military council in Taiz, Col. Gen. Mansour al-Hassani, told Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper that the Taiz battles were remarkable, and had “taught insurgency militia an unforgettable lesson.”

He added that Houthi militants have suffered grave losses both in artillery and combatants, and still are undergoing fatalities till the current moment.

Hassani said that the militia had prepared well to invade the 35th Brigade camp, nevertheless with seven hours of constant battle had the insurgency facing a staggering defeat served by the persistence of the Popular Resistance and pro-legitimacy forces.

Hassani confirmed that over 40 Houthi snipers have been taken down.

Two insurgency tanks, four machine guns, two arms’ stockpiles, two military suits and a number of military equipment have been destroyed by pro-legitimacy forces during the Taiz battle.

Locals told Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper that Saudi-led coalition airstrikes had pounded insurgency militia hubs in location 50, Sanaa taking down militia tanks.

Legitimate authorities in Taiz confirmed that any support presented should be delivered to the hands of legitimate local authorities and axis leadership. Moreover, they urged the implementation of the Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi’s decision on merging forces.

LNA mopping up pockets of resistance in Gwarsha
Use lots of Pinesol
The Libya National Army (LNA) says that it has now taken complete control of the south Benghazi district of Ganfuda, including the Nowruz beach which was still being used by the militants until a few days ago to ferry in goods and ammunition and take out wounded and fleeing fighters. The LNA also claims that most of Gwarsha is also now under its control although today, loud explosions could be heard coming from the district.

One of the places it says it took today is the roundabout next to the pipe factory.

In the fight for Ganfouda, it is reported that six LNA soldiers, mainly from 204 Brigade, were killed and another 15 injured.

Among those reportedly killed among the militants was a Libya Islamic State (IS) commander, known as Abu Abdullah Al-Ansari. According to the Libyan news agency LANA, his real name was Hamouda Al-Tirah.

A senior source within the LNA also says that once the south of Benghazi is fully liberated, it will turn its attention to dealing with the pockets of resistance still in city centre, in Suq Al-Hout and Sabri.

The LNA’s spokesman, Colonel Ahmed Misrmari, has meanwhile said that reports by Basil Igtet of a two-week ceasefire agreed between the LNA and the mujahideen in Derna are untrue. General Haftar had not agreed to anything and Igtet’s ideas about a ceasefire were purely his own.

Igtet, a successful businessman with political ambitions, is from Derna and revisited it recently for talks with the Islamist mujahideen, encouraging them to take part in a ceasefire.

16 ISIS militants killed in separate airstrikes in East of Afghanistan
At least 16 loyalists of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group were killed in separate airstrikes in eastern Nangarhar province.

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) said the airstrikes were carried out in Kot and Achin districts where the loyalists of the terror group are actively operating.

MoD further added that a vehicle belonging to ISIS terrorists was also destroyed along with a PK heavy machine gun.

The loyalists of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group have not commented regarding the report so far.

The Afghan forces are still engaged in clearance operations in Kot and a number of districts of Nangarhar after ISIS loyalists launched a major attack police check posts in Nangarhar last Friday.

The attack was one of the major one since the group has launched its opereations in Afghanistan and despite they received major setbacks during the recent months.

The National Security Adviser Mohammad Hanif Atmar was forced to visit Nangarhar to meet with the local officials following the attack.

At least 131 ISIS loyalists were killed and several security personnel and civilians lost their lives during the first two days of the clashes sparked by the coordinated ISIS attack.

Syrian Opposition Opens Six Fronts, Relieves Aleppo
Beirut-Jaish al-Fatah otherwise known as the Army of Conquest, a coalition of extremist and moderate factions in northern Syria, moved from the defensive to the offensive and created confusion among the ranks of the Syrian regime forces.

Leading rebels stated that the Army of Conquest opened six new battlefronts in Aleppo and mobilized more than 30,000 fighters.

Syrian Observatory for Human Rights chief Rami Abdurrahman described this operation as an attempt to twist the arm of the Syrian regime. Abdurrahman hailed the perfect timing that exploits the variation in U.S. and Russia stances towards the Aleppo battle.

Ahrar ash-Sham commander Mohammed Al-Shami said that a joint operations chamber is coordinating the offensive, adding that this battle wouldn’t have been possible without Aleppo factions joining his group’s ranks.

The opposition forces and Islamic factions, including Al-Nusra Front and Turkistan Islamic Party, provided the Aleppo and Latakia countryside with more than 30,000 fighters.

Al-Shami stated that the purpose of the operation is to exhaust the regime forces and oblige Assad to reduce the pressure exerted on Aleppo. The Ahrar ash-Sham Commander reported that the regime forces recently transferred the majority of soldiers and vehicles to Aleppo given its utmost importance.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that more than 30 soldiers from the regime and 39 from the Islamic factions were killed in al-Mallah. In Latakia countryside, clashes continued while the regime forces regained control of two villages and military bases.

70 die in battles in northern Aleppo
At least 70 regime and rebel fighters have been killed in 24 hours in a government assault and a militant-led counterattack in northern Syria, a monitor said Thursday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said 30 regime soldiers and 39 rebel fighters had been killed in battles around Al-Maleh, north of Aleppo, since Wednesday afternoon.

Militants fighting for the Al-Nusra Front, the Syrian branch of Al-Qaeda, were also killed, said Observatory head Rami Abdel Rahman, who did not provide a precise number.

The government of President Bashar al-Assad has been attempting to seize Al-Maleh for more than two years.

His forces have been trying for months to surround Aleppo by cutting supply lines between rebel-held districts of the city and nearby Turkey, which supports opposition forces.

For nearly a week, regime troops backed by Syrian and Russian warplanes have been battling for control of Al-Maleh.

Assad's regime is also attempting to cut the Castello Road, a key supply route from the Turkish border to rebel-held eastern suburbs of Aleppo.

The pro-regime website Al-Masdar News reported that the Syrian army withdrew from the farms of Al-Maleh as they faced a rebel counter-offensive led by the Al-Nusra Front.

It said rebels attacked government forces with two suicide car bombs.

The Observatory said two children were killed by regime bombs in a rebel-held area of Aleppo.

The majority of Aleppo province is controlled by Al-Nusra and its Islamist allies, while the city, the country's pre-war commercial capital, has been divided since July 2012 into rebel-held and regime-held areas.

Thirteen civilians including four children were also killed in regime missile attacks on Eastern Ghouta in the Damascus region, the Observatory reported Thursday, updating an earlier toll.

The conflict in Syria, which has lasted five years, has killed more than 280,000 people.

Another Russian tanker seized
A Russian-owned tanker has been seized by the Libyan coastguard with a cargo of petrol which the authorities suspect was being smuggled, possibly to Malta.

The Belize-flagged 110 metres, Temeteron ( 4686 tons deadweight) was detained off Zawia on Tuesday and escorted to Tripoli where it is now tied up in the inner harbour. The crew includes five Russians as well as Ukrainians and Greeks.

The Russian foreign ministry has told the Interfax news agency that its Tunis-based Libyan mission was doing all that it could to find out what had happened. It said: “What is deeply regretful is that fact that this incident occurred despite regular reminders … about Russian citizens and organisation facing security threats and other risks existing in Libya as a consequence of the complex military-political situation in the country”.

The ministry renewed its warning that Russian citizens should not visit Libya or do business there in person until the security situation has stabilised.

The Temeteron is the second Russian tanker to be seized. Last September, the Mekhanik Chebotarev was arrested off Zuwara, again on suspicion of smuggling petrol. The Russian captain and first officer were due to go on trial while the other nine members of the crew, including a women, were set free. Reports that the other two Russians were later released were never confirmed. MarineTraffic.com has no record of the whereabouts of the Mekhanik Chebotarev.

Senior Afghan Taliban leader shot dead in Peshawar city
A senior leader of the Afghan Taliban group was reportedly shot dead by unknown gunmen in Peshawar city of Pakistan.

According to reports, the incident took place in Nasir Bagh Road and the Taliban leader has been identified as Qari Syed Murad.
The gunmen reportedly opened fire on Qari Murad near his residence in Nasir Bagh Road where he was also running a seminary.

Qari Murad was a member of the military commission of the Taliban group for eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.
The Taliban militants group has not commented regarding the incident so far.

This comes as another senior leader of the Taliban group Mawlavi Alam was shot dead by unknown gunmen near Quetta city of Pakistan earlier this year.

Mawlawi Alam was a senior leader of the Taliban group and was a loyal commander to the newly-appointed Taliban supreme leader Mullah Akhtar Mansoor.

The leadership of the Taliban group and the notorious Haqqani terrorist network are believed to be based in Pesawar and Quetta cities of Pakistan.

The Afghan officials have long been criticizing Pakistan for allowing the Taliban and Haqqani network to use its soil from where they plan and coordinate attacks in Afghanistan.

This Week in Guns, July 2nd, 2016

By Chris Covert
Rantburg.com

Some week, huh? Rantburg goes dark for five days, and California goes dark for who knows how long, maybe a generation.

Governor Moonbeam signed a number of anti-2nd Amendment laws last week. The laws probably will survive a court challenge, because as we now know, there are very few state laws with imposed fees and costs the courts won't approve, no matter how unconstitutional.

Among the requirements California will impose is a background check for the purchase of ammunition, which is sure to drive Californians to adjacent states to purchase their ammunition.

A hybrid universal background check requirement for loaning firearms. So, supposedly when a Californian goes to a gun range that offers firearm rental, said customer will be required to submit to a background check.

And finally, a ban on magazines that carry more than 10 rounds.

What all this means is California's political left just imposed laws on the governed without their consent or approval, using their preponderance of numbers in the California legislature.

Nothing "democratic" took place in California. It remains to be seen if Californians will resist the laws. You know businesses which deal with firearms in California will fall right in line, like the good serfs they always have been.

Loads.

Rantburg's summary for arms and ammunition:

Prices for pistol ammunition were mostly steady. Prices for rifle ammunition were mostly steady.

Prices for used pistols were mixed. Prices for used rifles were mixed.

Quarterly Ammunition Summary

From the previous quarter, ammunition prices for pistol ammunition were lower across the board, by an average of $0.02 per round per category. Ammunition prices for rifle ammunition were mixed. Overall, net prices for rifle ammunition were lower by less than $0.01 per round.

Turkish aid ship departs for Ashdod Gaza
A Turkish aid ship carrying 11,000 tons of supplies for the Gaza Strip left the southern port of Mersin Friday afternoon, Anadolu reported.

The Lady Leyla sailed south for the Israeli port of Ashdod carrying 2,000 tons of rice, 5,000 tons of flour, 3,000 tons of sugar, 500 tons of cooking oil, and 10,000 food packages in addition to 100,000 pieces of clothing, 20,000 shoes, and 10,000 toys from the Turkish Grain Board and the Turkish Red Moon-Shaped Thingy Crescent (Kizilay). The Panamanian-flagged vessel is expected to dock within 30 hours.

The humanitarian mission departed Turkey following this week’s reconciliation deal between Ankara and Tel Aviv to end a six-year freeze in relations.

“The supplies aboard this ship are a sort of present from the Turkish people to their brothers and sisters in Gaza ahead of the upcoming Eid al-Fitr,” Development Minister Lutfi Elvan said at a ceremony in Mersin to mark the ship’s departure. “They are a present from our children to Gazan children.”

Elvan thanked Turkish President Recep Tayip Erdogan for leading the process which led to the restoration of ties between Turkey and Israel, and subsequently the aid being sent today. He also extended his thanks to the Turkish aid agency AFAD, the Turkish Red Crescent, and the Foreign Ministry for their help and coordination.

Deputy Prime Minister Veysi Kaynak said that Turkey would continue to help the Palestinian people in the areas of education, health, development, and information technology.

"God willing, all these projects will be completed at the earliest thanks to the [reconciliation] deal,” Kaynak said, adding that Palestine’s largest hospital – which is being built by The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) – would be opening soon.

"The end goal is to ensure that the Palestinians live happily and freely in their own country, and enjoy the same rights as everyone else,” he said.

Mersin Governor Ozdemir Cakacak said that the aid being sent to the Palestinians was not only a show of support, but an indication that “we are always with them”.

“We hope that the pain and tears in Palestine will end soon,” he said.

Palestinian Ambassador Faed Mustafa praised Turkey’s continued help and support to the Palestinian cause since the beginning.

"Turkey has given us much support during the establishment of the State of Palestine. And later on the Gaza issue. Turkey continues to be our number one supporter,” he said.
The Times of Israel adds:
The NTV network reported it would take 30 hours to reach Israel and the aid -- to be transferred overland from Israel’s Ashdod Port, in accordance with the blockade -- would arrive in Gazoo before Eid celebrations on Tuesday marking the end of Ramadan.

Turkish presidential front man Ibrahim Kalin said Tuesday that the ship’s departure would be "the first test to see if Israel will play a controller role," in easing the situation in Gazoo.

Clinton sought secret info on EU bailout plans as son-in-law's doomed hedge fund gambled on Greece
[Fox] Hedge fund manager Marc Mezvinsky had friends in high places when he bet big on a Greek economic recovery, but even the keen interest of his mother-in-law, then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, wasn't enough to spare him and his investors from financial tragedy.

In 2012, Mezvinski, the husband of Chelsea Clinton, created a $325 million basket of offshore funds under the Eaglevale Partners banner through a special arrangement with investment bank Goldman Sachs. The funds have lost tens of millions of dollars predicting that bailouts of the Greek banking system would pump up the value of the country’s distressed bonds. One fund, exclusively dedicated to Greek debt, suffered near-total losses.

Clinton stepped down as secretary of state in 2013 to run for president. But newly released emails from 2012 show that she and Clinton Foundation consultant, Sidney Blumenthal, shared classified information about how German leadership viewed the prospects for a Greek bailout. Clinton also shared "protected" State Department information about Greek bonds with her husband at the same time that her son-in-law aimed his hedge fund at Greece.

That America’s top diplomat kept a sharp eye on intelligence assessing the chances of a bailout of the Greek central bank is not a problem. However, sharing such sensitive information with friends and family would have been highly improper. Federal regulations prohibit the use of nonpublic information to further private interests or the interests of others. The mere perception of a conflict of interest is unacceptable.

Through its press representative, Eaglevale declined to comment for this story. Clinton’s campaign press office did not respond to a request for comment.

Cover-up worse than the crime: Loretta Lynch needs to resign
Reports this morning indicate that Loretta Lynch is likely to accept the recommendation of the FBI as to prosecuting Hillary.

The NY Times and initial reports on MSNBC indicated this was tantamount to a recusal, but the DOJ is now walking it back just a little, saying the likelihood of her overruling the FBI is very low, but not zero.

I pointed out on June 29 that the real story here is not just the meeting, but also that Lynch and Clinton kept it secret until a local reporter found out about it from a source and questioned Lynch during a press conference:
"Source" ? Yes, likely a member of her own security detail or local law enforcement.

This whole operation is right out of the Clinton's playbook. (except for the reporter finding out about the meeting)

These people are so full of hubris and confident that the fix is in that they just don't think it's an issue. As Hillary said, the FBI investigation is not a problem--nothing to see there. As she said about Benghazi: "What difference does it make?" and "It's time to move on." Disgusting.

SNA, AU forces withdraw from towns in Somalia
AMISOM demonstrates a rather tenuous grip on the idea of "clear and hold"...
Somali National army (SNA) forces and Ethiopian troops of AMISOM contingent have fully withdrew from fresh towns in Bakool region of southern Somalia on Friday.

Residents in Rabdhure and Burdhuhule towns have confirmed the pull out of the allied troops from that towns. The reason behind the retreat of the army is unclear. But local villagers say they are in fear and panic of possible Al Shabaab come-back that could trigger battle between the squeezing coalition forces and the militants.

Al Shabaab seem to be making a little-by-little return to the towns and villages in south and central Somalia that are being vacated by Somali and AMISOM troops.

NDS Cautioned Wardak Police Over Ferrying Of Cadets to Kabul

Amrullah Saleh, the ex-chief of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) on Friday blasted the government over the mass transportation of police cadets from Maidan Wardak province to Kabul in the wake of a deteriorating security situation in the country.

He said that two weeks back the NDS informed Wardak police headquarters about a possible planned attack on police cadet busses.

"I think those responsible who did not consider the small factors of the planning, must be fired from their posts so that it can be a lesson to others," Saleh said.

Joining Saleh, meanwhile, former minister of interior Mujtaba Patang said the attack on the police cadets' convoy was pre-planned. He called for the prosecution of police officials who were negligent in their duties.

He also said that the idea of a fifth pillar involvement cannot be ruled out.

The statement comes a day after two Taliban suicide bombers attacked a convoy of Afghan police cadets in Kabul, killing at least 32 and wounding more than 50 others.

Saleh said that the policy of mass transportation of police cadets raises questions.

"I think the transportation of the cadets during the day comes in the category of neglecting their duties and even we can call it an act of treason; they were able to move them at 2am or 1am or after Iftar while there is no traffic on the roads," Saleh said.

Amid speculation, meanwhile, the ministry of interior has said that it has launched an investigation into the attack.

"There has been a problem or a gap which provided a way to the enemy and the enemy succeeded to reach to the target, every angle and every side of the incident needs to be investigated," said Sediq Sediqqi, spokesman for the ministry of interior.

Patang said that officials cannot reject the idea of the involvement of infiltrators and fifth pillar elements in the attack.

"Time has been spent on the attack and the enemy closely worked on it, there is a possibility that infiltrators exist within the ranks of the security forces and they provided the completed planning to their collaborators about the timing of the convoy and how many personnel were on board," Patang said.

Thursday's deadly attack was not the first attack on Afghan security forces, but critics blast government for not finding an alternate to using a number of busses simultaneously to transport cadets – especially as they had been aware of threats.

Taliban Attack on Police Cadets Draws International Condemnation
I am sure their families are comforted that the "International Community" looked up from their Waygu steaks long enough to notice
Various countries as well as the United States and the United Nations on Friday strongly condemned the double suicide bombing by the Taliban against a convoy of busses carrying Afghan police cadets in Kabul on Thursday.

Thirty two cadets were killed and 53 others wounded.

The UN slammed Thursday's attack on the police officers and said it was an unjustifiable crime. They called on all warring factions in Afghanistan to stop the bloodshed and respect human rights.

The U.S has said that the attack on police cadets was carried out because of the international support to Afghanistan particularly the support of the United States to the government and the people of Afghanistan.

"This incident during the holy month of Ramazan underscores the extremists' complete disregard for human rights and the harm they continue to inflict on the Afghan people. Attacks like these are only deepening our support for the people and government of Afghanistan and their efforts for stability and security in their country," U.S state department spokesman John Kirby said.

A day after the deadly attack, a number of wounded soldiers gave chilling accounts of the attack and questioned the policy of transporting large numbers of cadets simultaneously.

"There were two or three private individuals at the door of the academy, they took them (cadets) to the vehicles, they looked frightened, the suicide attackers targeted the fifth and first vehicles," said one cadet, Esmatullah.

Meanwhile, some other wounded soldiers said that there is a possibility that it was a planned attack and certain elements from inside the police force had coordinated it.

"Two of my friends were sitting beside me and two others on the other side, when I saw them on the ground, they had been martyred," another wounded soldier Khirad Aqa said.

Along with the UN, Britain, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Brazil and other countries also condemned the attack on the police cadets and expressed their sympathies with the families of the victims.

India's government has said that New Delhi is with the people of Afghanistan in their struggle against terrorism.

Eyewitnesses Recount Horror Tales Of Twin-Bombing

A day after two suicide bombers attacked a convoy of Afghan police cadets in Kabul, a number of residents spoke out about the incident that killed 32 soldiers and wounded 53 others.

Thursday's attacks not only had a devastating impact on the lives of many Afghan families but also increased fear among residents.

The attack also had a major financial impact on nearby shops while a school and a mosque were also affected.

According to reports, several civilians were also hurt in the attack. A sixty-year-old man and two beggars were also killed in the incident.

Residents in Qala Haidar Khan, where the incident happened, have said that they were still collecting body pieces of victims that had been flung far from the blast site. They also said they thought the casualty toll was higher than that issued by government.

"Two women were begging here, but they were killed and I saw their bodies," one eye witness Qurban said.

"I saw one beggar was dead and another one wounded, I ran with my son to help her and we took her to the hospital, but she did not survive," another resident of Kabul Karim said.

"I strongly criticize the police, despite being warned of suicide attacks, they (police officials) still transport the sons of the people on these buses," another resident Mohammad Nasir said.

"95 percent of school windows have been shattered, the loss is huge," Mohammad Gul, a school watchman in the area said.

"Our hands are still crippled because of the shock of the attack, we are extremely frightened after seeing the attack," a Kabul resident Abdul Salam said.

Insurgents also stormed a police check post in the same area a few weeks back, however they fled the scene after coming under fire by security forces. At least six police officers were reportedly killed and wounded in that attack.

Taliban Attack On Cadets 'A Violation of Islamic Principles'
For some reason I don't see a civil or criminal case emerging from that revelation
Religious scholars on Friday strongly condemned the Taliban's attack on a convoy of Afghan police cadets in Kabul that left 32 dead and 53 others wounded.

They said that the Taliban's act of terrorism, its violence and killing of people is against the Islamic guidelines and human values and it is in clear enmity of Islam and the Muslim nation.

Two Taliban suicide bombers on Thursday targeted a convoy of Afghan police cadets on their way from Maidan Wardak province to Kabul. The attack marked one of the deadliest against Afghan security forces - particularly against the police force - over the past few years.

Meanwhile, a number of residents have said that religious scholars must take a tougher stance against the Taliban.

"Such killing is prohibited and it is an act of aggression, verses of the Holy Quran proves this," said Maulavi Rahmatullah, the Imam from Khairul Bashar mosque.

According to scholars, those committing acts of terrorism are infidels and they cannot represent Muslims and Islam.

"Such killing is unlawful and it is a great sin especially during the holy month of Ramazan," another scholar Abdul Hadi Hedayat said.

But, still there are some mosques in Kabul which have not reacted to the incident.

Residents have strongly criticized those scholars who have not reacted to the Taliban's violence.

"It is not only a crime, but also enmity against the Prophet of Islam and Allah and the religion. Violence has no place in Islam," another scholar said.

At the same time, residents have asked the government to clarify the friend and the enemy.

"It is the responsibility of every scholar to denounce these acts of violence in the Juma prayers," Kabul resident Baktash said.

"When a high-ranking government official is travelling, dozens of armed vehicles accompany them and provide them security. All cadets who graduated yesterday came to Kabul without the coordination of the ministry of interior," another resident said.

"I think yesterday's incident was pre-planned, it is impossible to carry out such attacks without making plans," said another Kabul resident.

Thursday's attack marks one of the deadliest attacks against Afghan police in recent years.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
10 Kurds die in ISIS assault on Tel Abyad
[ARA News] TEL ABYAD – The Islamic State group (ISIS) killed more than 10 people in the town of Tel Abyad in Syria’s northeastern Raqqa province with a car bomb on Wednesday, local source reported.

The security police in the town said in total ten people were killed, including two security guards and more than ten civilians were injured in front of the Mala Gel (People’s House), a local institution affiliated to the Kurdish-led self-administration. The injured civilians were brought to the local hospital.

The Syrian Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) forces took the town from ISIS in June 2015.

Since then Tel Abyad has been administrated by a multiethnic administration of Arabs, Kurds and Turkmen, lead by one Kurdish female and one Arab male politician.

Nevertheless, the town still faces an ISIS threat and local sleeper cells, officials told ARA News. Since ISIS failed to take the town back in a major attack that lasted for four days in February 2016, the group has started to use car bombs and assassinations instead.

“We [Arabs] don’t support the YPG 100 percent, but maybe 90 percent. The rest of the 10 percent needs some time,” said Hamdan al-Abad (51), the co-head of the city council of Tel Abyad.

“Thanks to the YPG and YPJ, Tel Abyad was liberated,” al-Abad told ARA News.

According to ISIS, any Arab who accepts joining the Kurdish-led self-administration in northern Syria is considered an apostate.

“They [ISIS] see us all as kafirs [apostates] and we are a legal target for them,” he added.

Mustafa al-Ahmed (59), an Arab civilian from Tel Abyad, said Arabs do not support ISIS and did not gain anything from ISIS.

“One man was hanged on a cross after being beheaded, how could we accept this kind of system? In the West, you would take your children to the zoo or swimming pool, but here we could only take our children to see blood, I wish you could have seen this by your own eyes,” he told ARA News.

Aymen Jawad Al Tamimi, a research fellow at the Middle East Forum–a US think-tank, said: “ISIS considers Arabs residing Kurdish-held areas as PKK agents. The attack was not unprecedented. It’s an example of what ISIS calls an amiliya amniya [security operation].”

“It can mean a literal internal security operation, for example, but it is also used in insurgency terminology to refer to an operation conducted in the heart of enemy territory. So, if ISIS jihadis were to assassinate someone with a bomb in central Baghdad, for instance, that would also be an amiliya amniya,” Tamimi told ARA News.

“It’s not a problem for ISIS to bomb Sunni Arab areas, just because it’s partially administrated by Kurds and considered enemy territory,” the source added.

On 13 October 2015, ISIS assassinated Imam Ammar Al Darwish in Tel Abyad city because he worked with the local administration.

“They may not view their targets as Muslims, but as apostates,” Tamimi added.

Italy Sponsors Secret Talks between GNA & Rival Tobruk Government
Rome is driving its own peace initiative to help rival Libyan camps to end distrust and rebuild the country as the UN-backed unity government struggles to impose its authority. High key talks between Prime Minister-designate Faiez Serraj-led Government of National Accord (GNA) and rival Beida-based government supported by Trobruk-based Parliament have taken place in Tunis under Rome’s auspice to end tension between the opposed groups, the New Arab reports.

“Meetings have been held with Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni, who have expressed their support for the proposal,” a source from within the GNA told the London-based Qatari media.

Beida-based government has refused to relinquish power to Serraj-led cabinet, which moved in Tripoli last March. The Beida-based government and god-father House of Representative (HoR) based in Trobuk have rejected the GNA which they deem a west-imposed cabinet on Libyans.

The aim of the Italian initiative is to end distrust between the rival seats of power and encourage militias to hand over their weapons through a comprehensive amnesty program.

“It will span five years, beginning with reconciliation then the rebuilding of state institutions in a manner that ends the east-west divide and excludes no parties,” the GNA source said.

Meetings have been taking place and the future meeting will include Tobruk-backed army general Khalifa Haftar and other militia leaders backing the GNA.

Meanwhile, four members of the GNA have reportedly submitted their resignations to the Presidential Council on Thursday evening and their resignation has been accepted. The resigning Ministers are those of Finance Fakhir Muftah Bouferna, of Justice Jumaa al-Dersi, of National Reconciliation Abdel Jawadd al-Abadi and of Economy and Industry Abdel Matloub Bouferwa.

The reasons behind their move are yet to be known, but given that all the four ministers are from the eastern bloc, analysts believe that there could be regional tensions within the GNA.

Hashed out of the Libyan Political Accord signed in December in Morocco, the GNA failed to receive official endorsement from the HoR. Division between rival camps has also impeded coordinated assault against the Islamic State group militants in control of the coastal city of Sirte.

Six foreign-funded hitmen planning sectarian killings held
KARACHI: The counterterrorism department of police on Thursday claimed to have detained a gang of six “foreign-funded sectarian hitmen” allegedly planning to assassinate religious leaders and scholars in Ramazan.

The Sindh CTD chief, Dr Sanaullah Abbasi, told Dawn that this gang had done reconnaissance of 200 people for killing.

“They are funded by foreign actors for a proxy war in Pakistan, particularly in Karachi,” said the CTD head.

Dr Abbasi described the arrests as a ‘breakthrough’.

Earlier speaking at a press conference at his office, CTD SSP Naveed Khowaja said the CTD, acting on a tip-off, arrested the six suspects in different areas of the metropolis.

The officer identified the suspects as Mohammed Ali, Syed Sheeraz Ali, Syed Hamid Abbas, Syed Israr Ali, Pervez Husain and Mohammed Mumtaz.

“This group has been working as a sleeper cell over the past five years,” said the officer.

They were also allegedly involved in making an attempt on the life of central Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat leader Maulana Aurangzeb Farooqi in Gulshan-i-Iqbal in 2012 in which four policemen and two civilians were killed while Maulana Farooqi, ASI Ashfaq Cheema and another person were wounded.

The suspects were also involved in the targeted killing of ASWJ leader Dr Fayaz in SITE last year, the police officer added.

This group had done reconnaissance of at least 15 religious personalities to target them in Ramazan and were planning another attempt on the life of Maulana Aurangzeb Farooqi at his home in Landhi.

“For this purpose, they got a home on rent in Landhi and sported long beards to give the impression that they were the followers of Mr Farooqi’s school of thought, and used to offer prayers at their mosques. They were also carrying fake identity cards to hide their real identity.” Replying to a question, the officer said that they did not belong to any religious or political group.

However, the SSP added they were probing to ascertain as to whether they enjoyed ‘foreign support’ to increase sectarian killings in Karachi.

Sabri murder case

Responding to another question, the SSP said it was not a correct impression that the murder case of renowned qawwal Amjad Sabri had been ‘solved’.

“Some suspects have been detained who have provided positive leads and the investigators are working on them to unearth the identity and motive of the killers,” said Mr Khowaja.

He added that the investigators were focusing on different aspects of the murder such as personal enmity and sectarianism.

He revealed that the investigators had also obtained video footages, which were helping them in investigation. He claimed that they were working on this high-profile murder case on a ‘scientific and technical’ basis.

IDF slaps closure on Hebron, withholds PA tax funds after attacks
[IsraelTimes] Army adds 2 battalions to ‘disrupt terrorist activities’; Netanyahu says money Abbas pays to terrorists’ families will be deducted

Amid a surge in terror attacks, Israel on Friday placed an effective closure on the West Bank city of Hebron and announced an immediate cut to tax funds it collects for the Paleostinian Authority, saying it would deduct the amount the Paleostinian leadership pays to the families of terrorists.

A meeting of the high-level security cabinet was set for Saturday night, when ministers could decide on further punitive steps.

Abu Sayyaf bomb expert nabbed in Basilan
Philippine troops arrested an Abu Sayyaf sub-leader and one of his men in Basilan province on Friday, a day after President Rodrigo Duterte took office promising to crush the notorious terrorist group.

Military spokesman Filemon Tan identified the arrested sub-leader as Mudzrih Abih Adjalan, alias Idol, and a man named Yasir. Both were arrested in Ungkaya Pukan, Basilan under a warrant of arrest for kidnapping and serious illegal detention. Tan said Adjalan was also behind the killing of Godofredo Oraw, Jr. and Homer Dela Fuente in Lamitan City on June 25, 2013. He is said to be an expert in manufacturing explosive devices.

Tan said, "[Adjalan] is well-trained in manufacturing improvised explosive devices and is involved in the conduct of surveillance for probable targets of several bombing incidents in Zamboanga City and the cities of Isabela and Lamitan, both in Basilan."

TSA Agents BEAT AND JAIL Disabled Teen With Brain Cancer [VIDEO]
[Daily Caller] Nineteen-year-old Hannah Cohen and her mother Shirley are suing the TSA after a Thursday incident in which agents at the Memphis International Airport beat and jailed the young woman during a security check.

According to WREG Memphis, the Cohens were traveling from Memphis to Chattanooga, a trip they have been making for 17 years so that Hannah can receive brain cancer treatment at St. Jude Hospital.

According to Shirley, Hannah -- who is also partially deaf and blind in one eye -- set off a metal detector while passing through security.

"They wanted to do further scanning, she was reluctant, she didn't understand what they were about to do," Shirley told WREG. "She's trying to get away from them but in the next instant, one of them had her down on the ground and hit her head on the floor. There was blood everywhere."

Hannah was arrested sent to "Jail East," though authorities eventually threw out the charges.

The TSA released a short statement on the incident, noting that "passengers can call ahead of time to learn more about the screening process for their particular needs or medical situation."

The Cohens have filed a lawsuit against the Memphis Airport, Airport police and the TSA.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Hamas calls for more violence amid blood-soaked days
[IsraelTimes] Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, called on Friday for Dire Revenge against Israelis following the death of two Paleostinians, as Israel continued to grapple with a string of terror attacks.

Israeli Security forces on Friday morning thwarted an attempted attack next to the Tomb of the Patriarchs in the West Bank city of Hebron. The attacker, named as 27-year-old Sarah Tarayrah, was said to be a relative of the teenage terrorist, Muhammad Tarayrah, who on Thursday murdered 13-year-old Hallel Yaffa Ariel as she slept in her own bed.

Later on Friday, a Paleostinian man, 63-year-old Muhammad Habbash from Nablus, died at the Qalandiya checkpoint in the West Bank between Ramallah and Jerusalem. An Israeli military source said that the man’s death was caused by a heart attack; the Paleostinian Health Ministry said he died from inhaling tear gas during festivities.

In a blurb, the terror group as well as other armed Paleostinian factions called for the "youth" of the West Bank to take Dire Revenge against Israelis for "crimes against our elders" through "resistance in all its forms" -- a euphemism for terrorism and violent attacks.

Hamas said Israel would pay a "heavy price" for its crimes over the month of Ramadan, adding the Islamic holy month has always been the "month of Jihad and resistance."

The Gazoo-based terror group’s calls for attacks came amid two bloody days for Israelis.

Miki Mark, a rabbi who heads a West Bank yeshiva, was killed Friday afternoon and his wife and children were maimed when their family car came under gunfire from a passing vehicle and overturned, south of the West Bank city of Hebron.

On Thursday, 13-year-old Hallel Yaffa Ariel was killed in her home at the Kiryat Arba settlement adjacent to Hebron.

On the same day, two adult Israelis were maimed during a stabbing in Netanya, one was seriously maimed and the other lightly injured.

Hamas calls for financial and military support
Hamas released a second blurb on Friday urging Islamic and Arab nations to give it financial and military support.

The terror organization, in a rare admission of weakness, said it was facing abandonment and dealing with increased security coordination between Arab nations and Israel.

The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
, one of Hamas’s main allies, signed a normalization deal with Israel on Wednesday, in which Ankara agreed to prevent any military action by Hamas on its soil.

Egypt, another historical ally to the terror group, has scorned Hamas since its ideological umbrella group the Moslem Brüderbund was kicked out of office in 2014 by Egyptian leader Abdel Fattah el-Sissi.

The Grand Turk
Istanbul airport attack organizer a known wolf
[IsraelTimes] The suicide kaboomers who launched the deadly Istanbul airport assault were planning to take dozens of passengers hostage, Turkish media reported Friday, as two of the bombers were identified.

State-run news agency Anadolu said 24 people were tossed into the calaboose in Istanbul in a string of raids over the attack, including 15 foreigners.

Citing a prosecution source, the agency named two of the attackers as Rakim Bulgarov and Vadim Osmanov, without giving their nationalities.

Officials had previously said the three bombers were a Russian, an Uzbek and a Kyrgyz national.

Police had also found a damaged laptop in a dustbin near an Istanbul apartment used by the attackers and were trying to retrieve information from it, Anadolu added.

‘Number one enemy’
Turkish media identified the strike’s organizer as Akhmed Chatayev, the Chechen leader of an IS cell in Istanbul who reportedly found accommodation for the bombers.

Chatayev allegedly organized two deadly bombings this year in the heart of the city’s Sultanahmet tourist district and the busy Istiklal shopping street, the Hurriyet newspaper said.

Michael McCaul, chairman of the US House Committee on Homeland Security, described Chatayev as "probably the number one enemy in the Northern Caucasus region of Russia."

"He’s travelled to Syria on many occasions and became one of the top lieutenants for the minister of war for ISIS operations," McCaul told CNN.

Swedish court documents seen by AFP showed the 36-year-old had been sentenced to 16 months in jail there in 2008 for arms trafficking, after which he would be deported.

He was granted political asylum in Austria in 2003.

The pro-government Sabah newspaper reported that the attackers scouted the scene and planned to take dozens of passengers hostage inside before carrying out a massacre.

But they began the assault early after attracting suspicion, Sabah said.

CCTV images released by police show the three alleged attackers arriving, wearing dark coats over their boom jackets -- clothing that was much too heavy for a hot summer night.

More images show a plainclothes police officer confronting one of the men and asking to see his identification. The attacker pulls out a gun and shoots him.

ISIS commander and the missus have a Very Bad Day
[ARA News] ERBIL – A top jihadi member of the Islamic State (ISIS) was killed along with his wife in an airstrike by the US-led coalition on Thursday, local sources in the Iraqi northwestern Mosul city reported.

A source in the Mosul hospital, who spoke to ARA News on condition of anonymity, said that the head of ISIS Sharia Court in Mosul was killed in an airstrike that targeted his house in Mosul city.

“The French-national jihadi and his wife were at home when a coalition airstrike bombed their residence,” the source reported, citing an ISIS security official.

Speaking to ARA News in Mosul, media activist Abdullah al-Malla said that ISIS was trying to keep the information about the death of the Sharia director confidential.

“The house of the Sharia head was completely destroyed in the raid, and the Islamic Police of al-Hisba were searching for the dead bodies of the official and his wife, supported by a rescue team. The group blocked all roads leading to the al-Aisar neighborhood where the strike took place,” al-Malla reported.

“ISIS is trying to hide information about the death of its top officials in order to maintain the morale of its members,” he said.
