New O'Keefe Video: Hillary Clinton Approved Robert Creamer Plan Directly
[Breitbart] James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas has released video evidence that left-wing organizer and high-level Democratic Party operative Robert Creamer is, in fact, linked directly to Hillary Clinton, who personally approved at least one of his disruptive tactics.

Last week, O’Keefe produced video showing Creamer, the co-founder of the Democracy Partners consulting group, and his colleague, Scott Foval, discussing their past and present efforts to incite violence at Donald Trump rallies and other events.

The stated goal was to create "anarchy" around Trump, presumably to make him less appealing to American voters. Foval described Democracy Partners as a contractor for the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook tried to evade the controversy by denying a direct link between Creamer and the campaign.

#1  But, but, but the Dems said the Rooskies stole these emails and that they altered them. And yet, it was found that the email providers said the emails couldn't be altered without knowing that they were altered. There are a great many emails from Creamer to Podesta in recent releases. What is it now number 16 or 17 releases? Nixon (Watergate fame) is looking like a amateur. No one died in Watergate; we can't be sure about ServerGate other than the four heroes of Benghazi.

New Podesta Email Exposes Playbook For Rigging Polls Through "Oversamples"
Earlier this morning we wrote about the obvious sampling bias in the latest ABC / Washington Post poll that showed a 12-point national advantage for Hillary.  Like many of the recent polls from Reuters, ABC and The Washington Post, this latest poll included a 9-point sampling bias toward registered democrats.

"METHODOLOGY ‐ This ABC News poll was conducted by landline and cellular telephone Oct. 20-22, 2016, in English and Spanish, among a random national sample of 874 likely voters. Results have a margin of sampling error of 3.5 points, including the design effect. Partisan divisions are 36-27-31 percent, Democrats - Republicans - Independents."

Of course, while democrats may enjoy a slight registration advantage of a couple of points, it is nowhere near the 9 points reflected in this latest poll.

Meanwhile, we also pointed out that with huge variances in preference across demographics one can easily "rig" a poll by over indexing to one group vs. another.  As a quick example, the ABC / WaPo poll found that Hillary enjoys a 79-point advantage over Trump with black voters.  Therefore, even a small "oversample" of black voters of 5% could swing the overall poll by 3 full points.  Moreover, the pollsters don't provide data on the demographic mix of their polls which makes it impossible to "fact check" the bias...convenient.

Now, for all of you out there who still aren't convinced that the polls are "adjusted", we present to you the following Podesta email [5], leaked earlier today, that conveniently spells out, in detail, exactly how to "manufacture" the desired data. The email starts out with a request for recommendations on "oversamples for polling" in order to "maximize what we get out of our media polling."

I also want to get your Atlas folks to recommend oversamples for our polling before we start in February. By market, regions, etc. I want to get this all compiled into one set of recommendations so we can maximize what we get out of our media polling.

The email even includes a handy, 37-page guide with the following poll-rigging recommendations.  In Arizona, over sampling of Hispanics and Native Americans is highly recommended:

Research, microtargeting & polling projects
-  Over-sample Hispanics
-  Use Spanish language interviewing. (Monolingual Spanish-speaking voters are among the lowest turnout Democratic targets)
-  Over-sample the Native American population

For Florida, the report recommends "consistently monitoring" samples to makes sure they're "not too old" and "has enough African American and Hispanic voters."  Meanwhile, "independent" voters in Tampa and Orlando are apparently more dem friendly so the report suggests filling up independent quotas in those cities first.

-  Consistently monitor the sample to ensure it is not too old, and that it has enough African American and Hispanic voters to reflect the state.
-  On Independents: Tampa and Orlando are better persuasion targets than north or south Florida (check your polls before concluding this). If there are budget questions or oversamples, make sure that Tampa and Orlando are included first.
Meanwhile, it's suggested that national polls over sample "key districts / regions" and "ethnic" groups "as needed."

-  General election benchmark, 800 sample, with potential over samples in key districts/regions
-  Benchmark polling in targeted races, with ethnic over samples as needed
-  Targeting tracking polls in key races, with ethnic over samples as needed

And that's how you manufacture a 12-point lead for your chosen candidate and effectively chill the vote of your opposition.

Iraq
Battle for Mosul: Why Turkey Is Bombing Anti-ISIS Fighters in Iraq, Syria
[NBC] Turkey is a NATO partner that stands with U.S. troops on the battlefields of Syria and Iraq, but it's an ally that's increasingly turning its guns on fighters the U.S. sees as vital to crushing ISIS.

On Wednesday, Turkey launched one of its biggest airstrikes in decades -- bombing 18 positions in northern Syria and killing an estimated 200 fighters.

But the strikes north of Aleppo didn't involve President Bashar al-Assad's army, or any of the main groups fighting his government like the Free Syrian Army, the Jihadi militia Jabhat Fatah al Sham, or even ISIS.

Instead, Turkey bombed People's Protection Units, or YPG -- Kurdish militia the U.S. considers the most effective force against ISIS in Syria.

Turkey has sent 2,000 troops into Iraq, where they are watching the massive military operation aimed at recapturing Mosul from the extremists. Baghdad maintains Turkey has violated its sovereignty and on Thursday issued an arrest warrant for an ex-Mosul governor who allegedly "invited" in the troops.

These latest in a series of military moves reveal how the government of President Tayyip Erdogan is reasserting its historic territorial claims while also trying to crush the country's mortal enemies -- Kurdish separatists.

Ankara has fought ethnic Kurdish militias within its borders for decades to prevent the birth of a new country, Kurdistan, carved out of Turkey itself. So it has watched carefully as YPG fighters secure large swaths of land along the Syrian-Turkish border.

Tom Hayden, 1960s anti-war activist, dies at 76
[Guardian] The 1960s anti-war activist Tom Hayden, whose name became forever linked with the celebrated Chicago seven trial, Vietnam war protests and his ex-wife, actor Jane Fonda, has died aged 76.

Hayden died on Sunday after a long illness, said his wife, Barbara Williams. He had a stroke in 2015.

Once denounced as a traitor by his detractors, he won election to the California assembly and senate where he served for almost two decades as a progressive force on issues such as education and the environment. He was the only one of the radical Chicago seven defendants to win such distinction in the mainstream political world.

He was an enduring voice against war and spent his later years as a prolific writer and lecturer advocating for reform of US political institutions.

Jill Stein Slams Hillary Clinton's ‘Disturbing' Laughter at Lynching of African Ruler
[Breitbart] Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein blasted Hillary Clinton's "laughter at the lynching of an African ruler" as "disturbing," referring to a 2011 CBS video clip of Clinton laughing about the death of Muammar Gaddafi.
Nearly everything about this creature is "disturbing."
Clinton "left Libya in bloody chaos," Stein wrote.

Stein went on to warn progressives that Clinton is a "corporatist hawk" who, if elected president, would threaten to move the country further towards "neocon, warmongering tendencies."
Painful, but credit must be given to Stein. Incorrect prognosis, but no less threatening.

Janet Jackson, Now a Muslim, in Islamic Burka
Singer Janet Jackson was this week spotted in public for the first time since announcing her pregnancy - wear full Islamic dress.

The star is believed to have become a Muslim after marrying Qatari billionaire Wissam Al Manna, 41, in 2012.

Our exclusive pictures show the couple looking relaxed and happy as they shopped in London earlier this week.

The pair strolled hand in hand as Janet - who will become a mum for the first time later this year at the age of 50 - stroked her growing bump.

They were spotted browsing for children’s clothes at an upmarket boutique before stopping for lunch at a health food restaurant.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
America's foreign policy is turning Iran into a world power
[Jpost] ...In keeping with the foolishness of their foreign policy in recent years, the Americans agreed to let Shi'ite militias, which are supported by Iran, take part in the battle for Mosul. Beyond the concern that these militias will massacre Mosul's Sunnis after it is recaptured, what should worry Israel is the possibility that the vision of the Shi'ite Crescent will be fulfilled - stretching from Iran through what was once Iraq and Syria, and all the way through Lebanon to the Mediterranean coast.

The next American president will determine if Iran becomes the dominant power in the region and if it will also become a nuclear power. Most of the Israeli media coverage of the US presidential election has relied on a translation of the completely biased American media and focuses on matters that are irrelevant for Israel. If I were an American citizen, perhaps I would be worried about Donald Trump's treatment of women, but as an Israeli, I ask myself, which American president would I prefer stand before Iran?

Nobel Prize winner Barack Obama paved for a Iran a certain path to a nuclear bomb and taught the Iranians and the world that in the face of a nuclear power who does as it pleases, like North Korea, all that he can offer is an eloquent and aggressive speech. Trump may be a chauvinist and a racist, he certainly is not pleasant and refined, but his great advantage is that he is unpredictable.

One can imagine how, as president, Hillary Clinton would condemn with harsh words Iran's first nuclear test. I can also imagine how Trump, as president, would inform Iran that if it dares to develop a nuclear bomb it will make the acquaintance of the American arsenal of weapons. The Iranians also believe that he is crazy enough to follow through with the threat. His contribution to world history could be far more important than the testimony of the harassed women who are dominating the American airwaves today.

Hungary's Orban rejects "Sovietisation" by Brussels, defends nation state

[Ynet] At a commemoration of a 1956 anti-Communist uprising, Hungary's right-wing leader Viktor Orban said his country must stand up to Europe's "Sovietisation" and defend its borders against mass migration. Orban, a critic of the European Union and an early opponent of the recent migration wave into the continent, said freedom in Europe depended on the nation state and Christian traditions.

"People who love their freedom must save Brussels from Sovietisation, from people who want to tell us who we should live with in our countries," the prime minister said to cheers from a crowd of several thousand. "We want to be a European nation not a nationality within Europe."

Swiss court rules against employer in headscarf battle with Muslim woman

[IsraelTimes] A Swiss court has ruled against a company that fired a longtime employee after she began wearing the Muslim headscarf, marking one of the first such rulings in Switzerland, media reported Sunday.

A regional court in Bern ruled last month that a 29-year-old Serbian woman was fired without just cause from a dry cleaning business, and ordered the company to dish out back-pay and damages to her, the Le Matin Dimanche weekly reported.

The woman, identified only as Abida, was fired in January 2015 from a job she had held for six years, after she began wearing the Muslim headscarf, it reported. Her employer in Bern had told her the headscarf violated hygiene rules, and told her to remove it or be let go. She reportedly offered to wash her headscarf daily or wear disposable headscarves, but her employer refused.

The Bern court ruled that the company had violated her constitutional right to freedom of expression, according to the paper. It said wearing a headscarf can only be grounds for termination in cases where it makes it impossible to carry out duties described in the employment contract or if it “substantially affects” the working environment.

French police chief promises change after sixth night of protests

[Ynet] France's national police chief has promised to upgrade equipment and improve working conditions for the country's police, who staged a sixth night of protests across several cities. The police have said they are no longer properly equipped to do their jobs and face harsh working conditions. They staged protests in Paris, Strasbourg and Nancy on late on Saturday, according to BFM TV.

"In Paris, it is mainly young police officers who say they have lost confidence in their hierarchy, in the institution and in their unions," Jean-Marc Falcone, France's national police chief said in an interview with weekly newspaper Journal du Dimanche.

Sixers, Heat Anthem Singer Kneels, Wears ‘Black Lives Matter' Shirt While Singing
MIAMI (AP) -- A woman performing the national anthem before an NBA preseason game in Miami on Friday night did so while kneeling at midcourt, and opening her jacket to show a shirt with the phrase "Black Lives Matter."

The singer was identified by the Heat as Denasia Lawrence. It was unclear if she remained in the arena after the performance, and messages left for her were not immediately returned.

Heat players and coaches stood side-by-side for the anthem, all with their arms linked as has been their custom during the preseason. Many had their heads down as Lawrence sang, and the team released a statement saying it had no advance knowledge that she planned to kneel.

Iraq
Turkey ignores Iraq’s rejection and joins war
[Iran Press TV] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
has confirmed its involvement in the battle for djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
despite Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi's opposition to such measures.

On Sunday, Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildrim announced that Turkish troops had joined the military offensive by the request of Kurdish Peshmerga forces, who were engaged with ISIS Death Eaters in the town of Bashiqa, located to the east of Mosul.

"The Peshmerga have mobilized to cleanse the Bashiqa region from ISIS. They asked for help from our soldiers at the Bashiqa base. So we are helping the tanks with our artillery and howitzers there," he said.

On Saturday, Abadi reiterated his stance on the involvement of Turkish forces in the battle for Mosul, stressing that Iraqi forces will accomplish the task themselves.

Afghanistan
Taliban uses drones to film attacks in Afghanistan
[Al Jazeera] The Afghan Taliban has uploaded a drone footage showing a jacket wallah driving into a police base and blowing it up in the southern Helmand
...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan...
province.

The fighters say the footage proves that they can now deploy drones as an "addition to their sophisticated possessions of advanced technologies".

The 23-minute-long video, which begins with a self-proclaimed suicide bomber speaking in front of an explosives-rigged Humvee, was released on Saturday appears to be authentic, according to the Afghan defence ministry.

"The remote-controlled drones to capture footage of their [Taliban] fighters conducting attacks is nothing but to instill fear among people and to indicate how far they can get in defeating us, but in fact, using a drone is not something they can call an achievement," Dawlat Waziri, front man for the defence ministry, told Al Jazeera by telephone.

"You can get a drone anywhere, in any shop. They found or bought one, and used it."

However,
there's more than one way to stuff a chicken...
using camera drones near sensitive government sites was banned by the Afghan government in June.

In the video, the purported suicide bomber, dressed in a black turban and white tunic says: "I am telling the Afghan stooge forces to repent and join the Taliban or we will use this equipment the foreigners gave them, against them and they can't do anything about it".
Not that they're capable of building one themselves.
A drone-mounted camera then films the Humvee speeding towards a compound and detonating in flames blowing up the entire building.

"This proves that we are well step ahead in sending our messages to people of Afghanistan in many sophisticated ways. Anything that helps us in destroying our enemies [Afghan and US forces] will be used with full force," Zabihullah Mujahid, Taliban front man, told Al Jazeera.

"This video has proved to be very influential and we have many people supporting us."

Mujahid said the video was of an attack on October 3, when the fighters overran parts of Helmand province.

Rooters says a government official in Helmand also confirmed the attack in which the district police chief and several other officials were killed.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Why Iran probably isn’t behind the attacks on U.S. warships
[Rooters] The conflict in Yemen is intensifying. The U.S. Navy launched cruise missiles at radar sites in areas controlled by Iran-backed Houthi forces in retaliation for attempted missile strikes on U.S. vessels, and Iran reportedly sent warships to the waters off Yemen. The moves risked bringing Iran into direct confrontation with the United States and Saudi Arabia, its ally. But while Iran will not skip an opportunity to poke its regional rival in the eye, Tehran does not want overt confrontation with the United States in Yemen.

The missiles were launched from Houthi-controlled territory in the north of Yemen, but it’s still unclear by whom. The Houthi rebels virulently denied carrying out the strikes. The U.S. response coincided with a report by Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency about Tehran’s deployment of its military vessels off Yemen. The timing of the report by Tasnim, which has close links to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, implied that the Iranian deployment was a response to the U.S. strikes — and that the strikes could lead to greater Iranian involvement in Yemen. But that’s not the case.

First, Iran’s Alvand and Bushehr warships were sent to patrol the Gulf of Aden, then on to Somalia followed by Tanzania on an anti-piracy patrol. Importantly, the ships were dispatched on October 5, eight days before the Tasnim announcement.

The announcement by Tasnim, which has close links to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, was typical hard-line Iranian grandstanding at a time when the United States was preparing to respond to the missile attacks. More generally, Tehran, which has repeatedly asked the United States to leave the region, clearly wants to avoid direct confrontation with U.S. forces. While Iranian rhetoric, particularly from hardline elements and the Revolutionary Guards, highlights Iranian strength and its ability to withstand confrontation with Washington, Iranian officials see this as a losing battle.

Tehran doesn’t want to get stuck in Yemen— especially at a time when Iran feels it’s succeeding in its efforts to showcase itself as a viable regional partner for the United States. Washington is reviewing its support for Saudi Arabia after Riyadh admitted it bombed a funeral without first following mandatory procedures to avoid civilian targets. Depending on its findings, the review could result in less U.S involvement in this war--which is what Iran wants. Tehran would not condone missile strikes on U.S ships that risked entrenching both Iranian and U.S. involvement in Yemen.

The Houthis may have taken action without Iranian consent. After all, Iran’s patron-to-proxy relation with the Houthis is not as clear-cut as often assumed. The rebels do not report to Iran in the same manner as Lebanon’s Hezbollah does, for example. Rather, the Houthis are similar to the Palestinian Hamas movement: They receive some help and support from Iran without taking direct orders from it.

What’s more, Yemen is not a priority for Iran. Iran is more concerned about neighboring Iraq, where it has important religious, trade and political interests, and Syria, which gives Tehran access both to Hezbollah and the Mediterranean. But Tehran’s Yemen policy is inconsistent and lacks an objective. Early on in the conflict, Iran limited itself to voicing support and providing some material supplies to the Houthi rebels. But as the Saudi intervention ramped up, Iran increasingly saw the conflict as a low-cost opportunity to be a nuisance to its rival.

But that’s all Yemen is to Iran — an opportunity. Tehran is loath to get dragged into another conflict when it is already involved on multiple regional fronts.

Washington, for its part, is keen to disengage from backing the Saudis in a conflict with no end in sight. The United States also does not want greater Iranian involvement in Yemen. That would make disengagement impossible and akin to abandoning its Saudi ally. Washington also knows that while Tehran is no match for U.S. forces, it has shown its proxies can cause serious disruption in the region.

Despite repeated calls for a ceasefire, the war in Yemen continues. But so far, Tehran and Washington have managed to limit their involvement. The attempted missile strikes cannot be allowed to escalate because that would risk dragging both countries deeper into the conflict. Neither side wants that.

Syrian Army, Hezbollah capture new territory in southern Aleppo
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA), backed by Hezbollah, resumed their large-scale offensive in southern Aleppo on Sunday, targeting the rural area between Khan Touman and the 1070 al-Hamdaniyah Housing Project.

Led by the 800th Regiment of the Republican Guard, the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies stormed the Air Defense Base on Sunday morning; this resulted in a short battle with the jihadist rebels of Jaish al-Fateh (Army of Conquest).

Following the capture of the Air Defense Base, the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies advanced further south towards the key town of Khan Touman, imposing fire control over the imperative hilltop of Tal Bazou and the al-Rashiddeen 5 District.

While Syrian Army originally controlled the Air Defense Base, the territory they captured south of this military installation was all brand new.

Lebanon’s ‘King of Drugs’ Endorses Hezbollah
[BREITBART] Leb’s biggest drug baron has reportedly openly endorsed Hezbollah against the backdrop of the battle for the Syrian city of Aleppo in which the Shi’ite militia plays a role.
The news site Arabi21 reported that Nur Zeeter wrote on Facebook that he had always been, and forever would remain, a fervent Hezbollah supporter.

"This is a message to the emir of the believers, the great leader, his excellency Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah," Zeeter wrote. "Sir, we have paid a price for our loyalty to you and for our inability to protect ourselves from evil and injustice. But we are honorable men, loyal men, who pledge to continue to fight evil and its doers, the enemies of the nation. We will continue to be loyal to you, with the help of Allah."

He later added: "Sir, you expect our support, and we say to you: We shall obey. We are at your service, whatever your request may be."

The site reported that Zeeter, who has been embroiled in criminal activity in Leb and enjoyed Hezbollah’s protection, has in the past visited the organization’s Death Eaters in Syria.

The paper also cited Lebanese sources saying that Zeeter, who controls several Shi’ite villages in southern Leb where he grows marijuana, maintains extensive business ties with Hezbollah, providing them revenues from drug deals that they use to purchase arms.

Poor states and poor counties, this is very much the case. They also face population ceilings dictated by federal judges in many cases. So, who do you incarcerate and who do you not? The feds create the problem by not securing the border and then expect the states and locals to pick up the tab of the consequences.

[GMANETWORK] Police on Sunday killed an alleged member of the Abu Sayyaf
...also known as al-Harakat al-Islamiyya, an Islamist terror group based in Jolo, Basilan and Zamboanga. Since its inception in the early 1990s, the group has carried out bombings, kidnappings, murders, head choppings, and extortion in their uniquely Islamic attempt to set up an independent Moslem province in the Philippines. Abu Sayyaf forces probably number less than 300 cadres. The Basilan Police Provincial Office identified the slain suspect as Said Ummal alias Said Usman.

The suspect was killed by members of the Lantawan Police Station at around 12:35 p.m.

Policemen were serving an arrest warrant against the suspect when he allegedly fired at the lawmen.

The Basilan police said Ummal is listed as the fifth most wanted person in Lantawan town and was being suspected as a drug pusher.

It said the suspect is facing several criminal charges and was among those who beat feet from the provincial jail last January 27.

ISIS threatens Damascus
[ARA News] Damascus – The Islamic State (ISIS) militant group threatened on Sunday that its fighters will soon invade the Syrian capital Damascus.

“Fighters of the Caliphate are preparing to enter the heart of al-Sham [Damascus],” the group said in a statement.

ISIS vowed to hit both the Syrian regime and the armed opposition in the Syrian capital.

The radical group has been in control of main areas in the southern suburb of Damascus for more than a year.

Al-Hajar al-Aswad neighbourhood is considered a main base for ISIS militants in southern Damascus. The group has also captured the nearby districts of Yarmouk and Tadamun after clashes with Syrian rebel factions and the al-Qaeda-splinter group of Jabhat Fateh al-Sham [previously known as Nusra Front].

ISIS accused the rebel groups in Damascus of working on behalf of the Assad regime.

“The time has come for the Caliphate fighters to take al-Sham [Damascus] from the infidels and their mercenaries,” the radical group said, vowing to apply the Sharia rule in the Syrian capital.

Syrian journalist and researcher on Islamic studies, Mustafa Abde, told ARA News that the group will most likely try to open new fighting fronts in southern Syria to ease the pressure on its ranks in the north.

“This announcement comes after the group started to lose ground in Iraq amid deteriorating morale among its militants. ISIS is seeking for new so-called victories to regain its reputation as a strong organisation,” Abde argued.

Wikileaks reveals how Dems got Chief Justice Roberts to FOLD on Obamacare
Emails from Wikileaks reveal how Democrats got Chief Roberts to fold on Obamacare. He wasn't blackmailed, he wasn't threatened. He was just... persuaded.

From the Wall Street Journal [Paywalled]:

This week's leaks show Hillary Clinton ally Neera Tanden laying out a strategy to intimidate the Supreme Court to uphold ObamaCare.

Ms. Tanden runs the Center for American Progress, the think tank that is essentially an arm of the Clinton campaign. CAP's former chief, John Podesta, is now the Clinton campaign chairman, and on June 2, 2015 Ms. Tanden sent an email to Jake Sullivan, a key Clinton aide, copying Mr. Podesta and Jennifer Palmieri, another campaign operative.

...Ms. Tanden wrote that, "As Jennifer will remember, it was pretty critical that the President threw the gauntlet down last time on the Court, warning them in the first case that it would politicize the role of the Court for them to rule against the ACA. As a close reader of the case, I honestly believe that was vital to scaring Roberts off."

[ARA News] Duhok – The international coalition and local allies should start an operation to isolate the Islamic State (ISIS) group in Syria’s Raqqa in conjunction with the Mosul operation, US Defence Chief Ashton Carter said on Sunday.

Raqqa is considered a de facto capital for ISIS in Syria. As the assault intensified on Mosul, which is the group’s major bastion in Iraq, ISIS started to fortify its headquarters in Raqqa.

Carter, who visited the Kurdistan Region of Iraq on Sunday to discuss the Mosul operation, said: “We want to see an isolation operation begin around Raqqa as soon as possible.”

“We are working with our partners there [in Syria] to do that,” he said. “There will be some simultaneity to these two operations [Mosul and Raqqa].”

According to Carter, the US-led coalition has earlier considered launching simultaneous operations against ISIS in Mosul and Raqqa. “This idea has been part of our planning for quite a while.”

ISIS on Wednesday tightened its security measures in the city of Raqqa, in northeastern Syria. According to eyewitnesses and activists, the extremist group has imposed a curfew in the city centre, installed new checkpoints and erected concrete road blocks.

There has been a two-weeks-long state of alert amongst ISIS jihadists in Raqqa, which serves as a de facto capital of the self-declared Caliphate.

“ISIS erected barriers between major districts of Raqqa city,” media activist Abdulkarim al-Yousef told ARA News in Raqqa. “New security checkpoints have been installed across the city, including near the al-Naeem Roundabout, al-Muhafaza Square, Saad Bin Muaz Mosque and al-Zedan Square.”

While ISIS tightened its internal security, ISIS vehicles arrived in Raqqa, coming from Iraq. According to S. Awad, an eyewitness, “More than 20 vehicles crossed the border and entered Raqqa on Tuesday at midnight, carrying ISIS militants and weapons.”

The Islamic State’s new redeployments and repression are likely related to the advances being made by US-backed Iraqi and Kurdish forces. On Monday, allied forces began the battle for Mosul and rapidly progressed towards the Caliphate’s Iraqi capital.

Kurdish Peshmerga commander Qassim Shesho confirmed to ARA News that a large number of ISIS jihadists have fled Mosul’s countryside through the Ba’aj road. The Ba’aj road rarely appears on maps. It is an unofficial roadway created by ISIS, connecting Mosul city in northern Iraq to Raqqa city in central Syria.

Opposition-led Venezuela congress plans to bring Pres. Maduro to trial
[Iran Press TV] Venezuela's National Assembly has vowed to prosecute Nicolas Maduro for what it described as "violating democracy" after electoral officials suspended a recall referendum campaign that opposition parties had mounted against the South American country’s leader.

"It is a political and legal trial against President Nicolas Maduro to see what responsibility he has in the constitutional rupture that has broken democracy, human rights
...which are usually open to widely divergent definitions...
, and the future of the country," opposition politician Julio Borges said during a special congressional session on Sunday.

The National Electoral Council announced in a statement late on October 20 that it was putting a stop to the opposition-driven plebiscite against 53-year-old Maduro after four state courts called the signature-gathering process fraudulent.

The measure put an end to the opposition movement’s bid to end 17 years of socialist rule in Venezuela.

The government’s adversaries argue that the suspension of their effort to stage a plebiscite against Maduro shows that Venezuela has abandoned democracy.

Last week, the electoral council stated that a recall vote against Maduro could not take place this year, and that "the event could be held in the middle of the first quarter of 2017."

1 wounded in bombing attack in Kabul
An explosion took place in the vicinity of 15th police district of Kabul city earlier today leaving at least one person wounded.

The security officials confirmed an magnetic bomb targeted a vehicle belonging to an Afghan National Army (ANA) soldier.

The officials further added that the blast partially damaged the vehicle and left the driver of the vehicle wounded who was taken to hospital and his health condition is satisfactory.

No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.

This comes as one person was wounded in a similar incident that took place in the vicinity of Taimani area of the city last week.

At least one person was killed and two others were wounded in a similar incident in Karte Naw area of the city nearly ten days ago.

The security officials in Kabul said the bomb was planted in a vehicle belonging to the traffic police and a driver of the traffic department was killed.

Earlier, back to back coordinated attacks rocked Kabul city, leaving at least 18 people dead and scores of others wounded.

The first incident took place in a shrine in Karte Sakhi area of the city on Wednesday night as hundreds of people had gathered to mark the Ashura day.

The second incident took place hours after the first blast after a number of gunmen stormed a mosque where the Ashura mourners had gathered.

Duterte now says Philippines won’t cut ties with US
[Gulf Today] Philippine president Duterte appears to have changed his tune and clarified his controversial statement that "separation" did not mean that he was "severing" the nation's relations with the United States.

Duterte admitted it would not be in the best interest of the Philippines if he completely cut off ties with the U.S. in a statement late Friday night in his home town of Davao City following his four-day state visit to China.

Duterte said, "When you say severance of ties, you cut diplomatic relations," explaining that "separation" meant pursuing a major foreign policy shift in its relations with the U.S. and aimed at closer ties with other countries. He said, "I cannot do that. Why? It’s to the best interest of my country to maintain that relationship (with the US)."

For one thing, Duterte said, many Filipinos who have acquired American citizenship would surely protest if he severed ties with the U.S., adding, "Besides Filipinos are not ready to support such an option."

While in Beijing on Thursday, Duterte told an economic forum, "In this venue, I announce my separation from the United States both in the military...not social, but economics also."

Former secretary Albert del Rosario of the Department of Foreign Affairs called Duterte's statement "unwise and incomprehensible."

“What is unfolding before us must be considered a national tragedy which does not need to happen," Del Rosario said in a statement.

Cholera reportedly kills nine in Yemen's Aden
Yesterday it was diphtheria in Venezuela.
[Iran Press TV] At least nine people have died of cholera in Yemen's southern port city of Aden as the infectious disease continues to spread rapidly across the conflict-stricken Arab country.

Sources close to the government of Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, Yemen's president who has resigned and fled the capital Sana'a, said ten other people had been diagnosed with the potentially fatal disease, which causes acute diarrhea.

The sources said 190 people with severe diarrhea had been admitted to hospitals in Aden.

The United Nations
...an idea whose time has gone...
earlier this month announced an outbreak of cholera in Yemen.

On October 7, the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF said cholera cases had been reported in the war-hit country, with some cases recorded by health authorities in Sana’a.

The WHO warned that the scarcity of drinkable water had worsened the hygiene situation in Yemen, fueling a marked increase in cases of severe diarrhea, in particular among people displaced from their homes in the center of the country.

UNICEF said cholera, a disease that is transmitted through contaminated drinking water, could prove fatal in up to 15 percent of untreated cases.

The two girls were kidnapped two weeks, but security forces managed to rescue them.

Meanwhile,

the families of the kidnapped girls have called on government to arrest and prosecute the kidnappers.

Mullah Gulbuddin, the suspected kidnapper who was arrested, has reportedly confessed that he kidnapped five girls in the past and moved them to Khost district in Baghlan province.

He reportedly claims to have married two of them and gave three others to relatives in exchange for money. Three of his relatives allegedly each married a girl.

According to the families of the victims, the Mullah had been teaching the girls the Koran.

Mullah Gulbuddin was busy selling the girls each for 200,000 Afs when arrested by security forces.
There are 70 Afghan Afghani to one US dollar, according to the internet, so that's $2,857. A reasonable sum for a wife, one assumes...except for the kidnapping, of course.

Clashes break out in Syria’s Aleppo as ceasefire expires
[Iran Press TV] Clashes between Syrian government forces and gunnies have erupted in the divided city of Aleppo after a unilateral ceasefire announced by Russia came to an end.

The ceasefire expired on Saturday evening, after a one-day extension on Friday. The truce was aimed at permitting civilians and foreign-sponsored gunnies to leave the eastern areas of the city.

During the ceasefire, eight humanitarian corridors were set up for people to leave to the city, but according to reports they were seldom used.

Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Sergei Rudskoi said that gunnies were stopping people from using the corridors, using civilians as human shields.

"The forces of Evil are using the ceasefire in their interest... We are seeing them massing around Aleppo and preparing for another breakthrough into the city's western neighborhoods," he said.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, fierce festivities broke out along the line dividing the city with exchanges of heavy artillery fire.

reported on Sunday that Mi-35M helicopters carried out a series of air raids on the town of Tal Kayf (aka Tel Keppe), located some eight miles from Mosul in Nineveh Province, leaving the key ISIS member, named as Abu Osama, dead.

The attack also killed a number of Abu Osama’s henchmen, the report added.

Mosul fell to ISIS in 2014, when the terror group started ravaging the country, naming the city as its so-called headquarters in Iraq.

Over the past months, ISIS has lost much of the Iraqi territory it had seized, with Mosul currently serving as its last stronghold in the country.

Earlier in the month, Arabic-language Iraqi Media News Agency (WAA) reported that Ibrahim al-Samarrai, otherwise known as His Supreme Immensity, Caliph of the Faithful and Galactic Overlord, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi

No reason to shutdown Islamabad after Panama issue in SC: Fazl

Fazl leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman
Deobandi holy man, known as Mullah Diesel during the war against the Soviets, his sympathies for the Taliban have never been tempered by honesty ...
on Sunday said that the matter of Panama Leaks is in Supreme Court and coming to streets for protest is pointless.

The JUI-F leader was addressing a presser at Lahore, where he said that the current situation is not similar to October 12, 1999.

He said that when the matter of Panama leaks is in court then coming to streets to protest is similar to putting pressure on the apex court.

Fazlur Rehman also said that it's not a crime to save an elected prime minister.

When asked by a news hound if ’the umpire’s finger would be raised,’ the JUI-F chief replied that the talk of umpire’s finger should not be done, as this points to something dangerous.

He said that no one could derail a democratic government, adding that Islamabad would not be shut down.

The Supreme Court is to hear the matter related to Panama leaks on November 1.

The apex court had issued notices to all parties including the Prime Minister, as it began hearing five petitions regarding the Panama Papers which have overshadowed political landscape of the country for the last several months.

Indian forces resort to unprovoked firing across Working Boundary
[GEO.TV] Indian security forces resorted to unprovoked firing at the working boundary on Sunday night, which was befittingly responded by the Pak side.

2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

befittingly responded to Indian Border Security Force’s unprovoked firing. Exchange of fire continues.

Tensions between the two nuclear-armed South Asian neighbours have escalated following the Uri attack in Indian occupied Kashmire.

On September 29, India claimed to have carried out 'surgical strikes' across the LoC in which two Pak soldiers were martyred. Pakistain dismissed the claims of the surgical strikes.

India has so far failed to provide any proof of any such strikes.

Houthis suppress Sana’a prison protest
[Al Arabiya] Al Arabiya reported on Sunday that Houthi militias have begun suppressing protests in Yemen’s capital of Sana’a’s central prison - using live bullets to hold of protesters.

Yesterday, mothers of the detained in Houthi controlled prisons organized a demonstration in front of UN headquarters in the capital, protesting the militias’ treatment of their sons.

Previously, this month, an international rights organization has accused Houthi militias of arbitrarily detaining and forcibly disappearing dozens of people in Sana’a.

The rebel group detained at least 35 people between August 2014 and October 2015, according to a report released Sunday by Human Rights Watch.

HRW says in addition to political opponents, the Houthis have targeted journalists reporting for opposition outlets.

“Politicians, activists, lawyers and journalists tell us they’ve never been more frightened of ending up disappeared” according to a statement from the organization.

Two Suspected Terrorists Killed in Russian City
[ENGLISH.ALMANAR.LB] Russian security forces have rubbed out two people suspected of "terrorism" in the city of Nizhny Novgorod, Russian news agencies reported on Sunday, citing law enforcement sources.

"Two members of an illegal armed gang have been liquidated in a special operation," TASS state news agency quoted a source saying, while a law enforcement source told RIA Novosti: "They have rubbed out two (people) suspected of terrorism."

There was no immediate official confirmation of the reports.

The regional branch of the FSB security service told Interfax news agency that "until urgent investigative steps are finished, we will not comment. Later we plan an official blurb."

Local media posted photographs from social networking sites apparently showing two bodies lying on the ground close to a car with doors open, as vehicles and security officers block the nearby road in a suburb of the sprawling industrial city on the Volga.

A local resident told Interfax that he heard shots in the morning between 8 and 9 am and security forces told people living in the residential area not to leave their homes.

Clinton Ally Aided Campaign of FBI Official's Wife
[WSJ] The political organization of Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, an influential Democrat with longstanding ties to Bill and Hillary Clinton, gave nearly $500,000 to the election campaign of the wife of an official at the Federal Bureau of Investigation who later helped oversee the investigation into Mrs. Clinton's email use.

Campaign finance records show Mr. McAuliffe’s political-action committee donated $467,500 to the 2015 state Senate campaign of Dr. Jill McCabe, who is married to Andrew McCabe, now the deputy director of the FBI.

The Virginia Democratic Party, over which Mr. McAuliffe exerts considerable control, donated an additional $207,788 worth of support to Dr. McCabe’s campaign in the form of mailers, according to the records. That adds up to slightly more than $675,000 to her candidacy from entities either directly under Mr. McAuliffe’s control or strongly influenced by him. The figure represents more than a third of all the campaign funds Dr. McCabe raised in the effort.

Mr. McAuliffe and other state party leaders recruited Dr. McCabe to run, according to party officials. She lost the election to incumbent Republican Dick Black.

A spokesman for the governor said he "supported Jill McCabe because he believed she would be a good state senator. This is a customary practice for Virginia governors... Any insinuation that his support was tied to anything other than his desire to elect candidates who would help pass his agenda is ridiculous."

Among political candidates that year, Dr. McCabe was the third-largest recipient of funds from Common Good VA, the governor’s PAC, according to campaign finance records. Dan Gecker received $781,500 from the PAC and $214,456 from the state party for a campaign that raised $2.9 million, according to records; and Jeremy McPike received $803,500 from the PAC and $535,162 from the state party, raising more $3.8 million that year for his candidacy.

The governor could recall only one meeting with Mr. McCabe--when he and other state Democrats met with the couple on March 7, 2015, to urge Dr. McCabe to run, according to the spokesman.

The FBI said in a statement that during his wife’s campaign Mr. McCabe "played no role, attended no events, and did not participate in fundraising or support of any kind. Months after the completion of her campaign, then-Associate Deputy Director McCabe was promoted to Deputy, where, in that position, he assumed for the first time, an oversight role in the investigation into Secretary Clinton’s emails."

FBI officials said that after that meeting with the governor in Richmond on March 7, Mr. McCabe sought ethics advice from the bureau and followed it, avoiding involvement with public corruption cases in Virginia, and avoiding any campaign activity or events.

Mr. McCabe’s supervision of the Clinton email case in 2016 wasn’t seen as a conflict or an ethics issue because his wife’s campaign was over by then and Mr. McAuliffe wasn’t part of the email probe, officials said.

"Once I decided to run," Dr. McCabe said, "my husband had no formal role in my campaign other than to be a supportive husband to me and our children. As a federal official...everyone who participated in our campaign understood and respected that he could not participate."

Mr. McCabe is a longtime FBI official who focused much of his career on terrorism. His wife is a hospital physician who campaigned in northern Virginia, where the couple live with their children.

The 2015 Virginia State senate race was Dr. McCabe’s first run for office and her campaign spent $1.8 million. The race was part of Mr. McAuliffe’s failed effort to win a Democratic majority in the Virginia legislature, which would have given him significantly more sway in Richmond, the state capital.

Mr. McAuliffe has been a central figure in the Clintons’ political careers for decades. In the 1990s, he was Bill Clinton’s chief fundraiser and he remains one of the couple’s closest allies and public boosters. Mrs. Clinton appeared with him in northern Virginia in 2015 as he sought to increase the number of Democrats in the state legislature.

Dr. McCabe announced her candidacy in March 2015, the same month it was revealed that Mrs. Clinton had used a private server as secretary of state to send and receive government emails, a disclosure that prompted the FBI investigation.

At the time the investigation was launched in July 2015, Mr. McCabe was running the FBI’s Washington, D.C., field office, which provided personnel and resources to the Clinton email probe.

That investigation examined whether Mrs. Clinton’s use of private email may have compromised national security by transmitting classified information in an insecure system. A review of Mrs. Clinton’s emails concluded that 110 messages contained classified information. Mrs. Clinton has said she made a mistake but that she never sent or received messages that were marked classified.

At the end of July 2015, Mr. McCabe was promoted to FBI headquarters and assumed the No. 3 position at the agency. In February 2016, he became FBI Director James Comey’s second-in-command.

As deputy director, Mr. McCabe was part of the executive leadership team overseeing the Clinton email investigation, though FBI officials say any final decisions on that probe were made by Mr. Comey, who served as a high-ranking Justice Department official in the administration of George W. Bush.

Mr. McAuliffe has been under investigation for months by the FBI’s Washington field office, a probe that includes an examination of donations made on behalf of a Chinese businessman, according to people familiar with the matter. His lawyers have denied any wrongdoing and said the investigation is seeking to determine if Mr. McAuliffe may have violated a law requiring people to register as agents of a foreign entity.

It was unclear the extent to which Mr. McCabe may have recused himself from discussions involving Mr. McAuliffe. When Mr. McCabe’s wife began her campaign, he shied away from involvement in Virginia public corruption cases, according to officials.

Once the campaign was over, officials said, Mr. McCabe and FBI officials felt the potential conflict-of-interest issues ended.

Kohistan Murders
[NATION.PK] t has been almost four years since the bizarre case of ’honour’ killing in Kohistan
...a backwoods district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa distinguished by being even more rustic than is the norm among the local Pashtuns....
surfaced, yet there has been no justice for those who were senselessly murdered, instead their death has been shrouded with mystery and cover-ups. A blurry video showing a group of young women clapping and singing as two men danced during a wedding ceremony in 2012, became public, following which, a Jirga, comprising 12 elders, reportedly sentenced four women, a minor girl and the two boys in the video to death.

It was reported that the four women and the minor girl were killed on May 30, 2012 but their bodies were never recovered. The men in the video are said to have gone into hiding, but three of their elder brothers were tracked down and killed. The Supreme Court on June 20, 2012 had disposed the case after a fact finding commission, which comprised District and Sessions Judge Muneera Abbasi, Bushra Gohar, ANP MNA, Dr Farzana Bari, a women rights activist, and the administration of federal and the Khyber Pukhtoonkhawa, submitted a report that the girls were alive and well and there had been no murders, even though Dr Bari had expressed reservations that they didn’t seem to be the same women in the video.

Fast forward four years and allegations of cover-ups by MPAs, local holy mans, and high ranking officials with ties to the Jirga have surfaced once again and Dr Bari insists that the Supreme Court must reopen the case as the girls have been confirmed dead thanks to Rooters’ journalist, Katharine Houreld, who has proved that the girls who appeared before the commission were not the ones in the video.

Such is the ingenuity now of people who kill in the name of honour, that they are even willing to deceive the Supreme Court. The fact is that even with laws in place to protect women, the killings may not decrease too much and ways to kill and hide will become more innovative. To give many of these men the understanding that women are not property, slaves or lesser beings will take decades more.

The Grand Turk
Turkey's New Maps Are Reclaiming the Ottoman Empire
[AINA from Foreign Policy Magazine] In the past few weeks, a conflict between Ankara and Baghdad over Turkey's role in the liberation of Mosul has precipitated an alarming burst of Turkish irredentism. On two separate occasions, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan criticized the Treaty of Lausanne, which created the borders of modern Turkey, for leaving the country too small. He spoke of the country's interest in the fate of Turkish minorities living beyond these borders, as well as its historic claims to the Iraqi city of Mosul, near which Turkey has a small military base. And, alongside news of Turkish jets bombing Kurdish forces in Syria and engaging in mock dogfights with Greek planes over the Aegean Sea, Turkey's pro-government media have shown a newfound interest in a series of imprecise, even crudely drawn, maps of Turkey with new and improved borders.

Turkey won't be annexing part of Iraq anytime soon, but this combination of irredentist cartography and rhetoric nonetheless offers some insight into Turkey's current foreign and domestic policies and Ankara's self-image. The maps, in particular, reveal the continued relevance of Turkish nationalism, a long-standing element of the country's statecraft, now reinvigorated with some revised history and an added dose of religion. But if the past is any indication, the military interventions and confrontational rhetoric this nationalism inspires may worsen Turkey's security and regional standing.

At first glance, the maps of Turkey appearing on Turkish TV recently resemble similar irredentist maps put out by proponents of greater Greece, greater Macedonia, greater Bulgaria, greater Armenia, greater Azerbaijan, and greater Syria. That is to say, they aren't maps of the Ottoman Empire, which was substantially larger, or the entire Muslim world or the Turkic world. They are maps of Turkey, just a little bigger.
Con't.

Here's Cryptographic Proof That Donna Brazile Is Wrong, WikiLeaks Emails Are Real
Cryptographic signatures demonstrate that Democratic National Committee Chairman Donna Brazile is wrong when she suggests the WikiLeaks emails were altered and that she did not send an email tipping off Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton to debate questions.

Many email systems use a verification system called DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) that shows whether an email has been changed. It uses a key stored on the email server that sent the email, so it can't be forged.

HillaryClinton.com uses Gmail to handle its mail and uses DKIM. Staffer Jennifer Palmieri, using her HillaryClinton.com email, replied to a Brazile email warning that Brazile was "worried" about Clinton’s ability to answer a question about the death penalty, that she said would be asked at an upcoming debate. She copied Podesta -- who also uses Gmail -- presumably so that he could encourage Clinton to prepare for the question.

The emails were hacked from Podest's account by WikiLeaks, but Clinton's campaign -- and Brazile -- have all but claimed their contents have been falsified.

Sar-e-Pul Residents Prepare For Battle Against Terrorists
[Tolo News] Sar-e-Pul residents claim almost 2,000 of them have taken up arms and are ready to fight for their districts in the event of an bully boy attack.

The armed residents on Sunday announced they will support the security forces and are ready to fight to eliminate terrorists.

"Residents of northern provinces and Sar-e-Pul are probably facing threats from ISIS. So it is wise to stand at the side of security forces at such a sensitive time," said Mohammad Azim Qoyash, a senator.

The residents said they are fed up with the Taliban in the vulnerable parts of the province and they are ready to fight the bully boys.

"We assure the local police and commanders that we will support them for a better life and for better security in Sar-e-Pul province," said Syed Assadullah Danish, Sar-e-Pul provincial council deputy.

"Taliban, Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI) of Pakistain and Haqqani network once again want to kill our people and destroy our homes," said Kaml, the local uprising group's commander.

Meanwhile provincial police chief Abdul Qayum Baqizoy, who praised people for their support of the security forces, said that such action increases the morale of security forces.

"This is an honor for our people, such honor has been recorded and will be recorded in history," said Baqizoy.

This comes after public uprisings have occurred in Balkh, Jawzjan and Faryab provinces ‐ where residents have pledged the same support for the Afghan cops.

She Had It Coming
[NATION.PK] There is no excuse for violence or for harming another individual, unless it is for self-defence. Anger, humiliation, ridicule, verbal abuse ‐ all categories of non-physical harm do not make a person liable to be physically assaulted. Such an assault would be unfair, proportional, and its logic justifies further reactionary violence.

This simple moral realisation is something many Paks have not been able to grasp. This was most recently exhibited in a video clip that went viral on social media where a National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) security guard in Liaquatabad, was harassed by a female news hound and lashed out physically and slapped her. On Thursday, the Gulbahar police registered an FIR against FC guard Hasan Abbas posted at the Nadra office in Liaquatabad for allegedly slapping the news hound. A "counter-case" was then registered against the news hound of a private news channel on the complaint of a Nadra official for creating "hindrances in official work".

The whole story points out some glaring problems in our governance and interpersonal relations. The reason cameras were on the scene outside the Nadra office was to report on the difficulties faced by people. Nadra did not care about the rudeness of their security personnel and rather than apologising to the victim, furthered a legal battle, a further drain of citizen’s resources. This logic, that "she had it coming" is why domestic abuse, mob culture, and extremism have become so prevalent. Many have questioned the news hound’s professionalism and the way she was addressing the FC guard and challenging him among dozens of people. This is valid criticism, however, it still does not give him the leeway to hit her for being unprofessional.

According to its modern definition, the state is the only legitimate source that can exercise violence, and that two after neutral arbitration between grieved parties. Additionally, our state and its constitution are based on 19th century ideas of liberty that purport that the only purpose for which power can be rightfully exercised over any member of a civilised community, against his will, is to prevent harm to others. The causing of harm is what creates oppression, the state is there to make sure that such oppression and harm does not come to pass.

Thus in cases of verbal attacks, logic dictates that the response be only in kind. Our religion in most cases dictates forgiveness. All modern law dictates that the response be deferred to a state authority that will determine punishment impartially and proportionally. In our country, with our warped notions of honour, none of these apply.

Afghanistan
Most of Taliban's Leaders Are Based in Pakistan: Abdullah

This comes after senior members of the Taliban's political commission based in Qatar travelled to Pakistain for discussions with security officials about possible peace talks with the Afghan government, the Guardian reported Saturday.

Reports also emerged last week that a Taliban delegation held secret talks with Afghan officials in Doha, Qatar recently and the Guardian reported that three Taliban officials left Doha on Wednesday for talks with Pakistain officials.

The Taliban said the discussions being held in Pakistain follow successful contacts made with both Afghan and US officials in recent months.

Abdullah meanwhile said that during his trip to Saudi Arabia he discussed the Afghan grinding of the peace processor and that Saudi officials "showed interest in helping Afghanistan in the grinding of the peace processor. We also talked about the peace agreement with Hekmatyar."

14 Taliban Insurgents Killed And Wounded In Kunar Clash
[Tolo News] At least 14 Taliban faceless myrmidons were killed and maimed in festivities with security forces on Saturday in eastern Kunar province
... which is right down the road from Chitral. Kunar is Haqqani country.....
, officials said.

The provincial governor's front man Abdul Ghani Mosamim confirmed the report and said that the clash occurred Saturday morning around 07:00 am local time when dozens of Taliban faceless myrmidons attacked a police check point in Noorgul district of Kunar province.

However,
some people cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go...
two coppers were killed and two others were maimed in the clash, Mosamim added.

Meanwhile provincial police chief Juma Gul Hamat said that the Nangarhar
The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country..
-Kunar highway was closed for four hours due to the clash.

Afghans seize Paki truck loaded with explosives in Kunar

[Khaama] The counter-terrorism forces of the Afghan police confiscated a truck carrying at least 1,000 kg of explosives in eastern Kunar province of Afghanistan.

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) said three suspects including two Pakistani nationals were also arrested in connection to the transportation of the explosives.

MoI further added that the explosives were of Ammonium Nitrate type which are mainly used to manufacture Improvised Explosive Device (IED).

According to MoI, the transportation of the explosives in a bus carrying Pakistani registration plate shows that the terrorist groups on the other side of the Durand Line are attempting to stage attacks in Afghanistan.
The ant-government armed militant groups including the Taliban insurgents have not commented regarding the report so far.

This comes as the Afghan officials have long been criticizing Pakistan for remaining reckless to act against the terrorist groups using its soil to plan and coordinate attacks in Afghanistan.

The Afghan officials are saying that the leadership councils of the Taliban group and the notorious Haqqani terrorist network are based in Quetta and Peshawar cities of Pakistan.

Egyptian air force hammers Sinai jihadists, 70 said killed
[IsraelTimes] Pre-dawn strikes on Islamic State-aligned group injure another 70, destroy vehicles

The Egyptian Air Force Sunday pounded jihadist groups in the Sinai Peninsula, reportedly killing 70 fighters and injuring another 70, the day after an Egyptian general was rubbed out outside his home in the capital Cairo.

In a series of predawn raids, jets targeted the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....

group in the village of Bolus between Sheikh Zuwaid and the city of Rafah in northern Sinai, the British Sky News Arabic website reported.

Several SUV vehicles and cycle of violences used by the turbans were also destroyed.

Security forces told Sky News that Egyptian soldiers also thwarted a terror attack by uncovering four bombs planted at a communications site in the area.

The raids, among the most extensive carried out by the Egyptian military in its ongoing campaign against jihadists in the restive peninsula, followed the gunning down of Brigadier General Adel Ragaei. Ragaei, who commanded an armored division deployed in Sinai, died in a hail of bullets as he left his home in the Obour City suburb, a family member told AFP.

Jihadists loyal to the Islamic State group are waging a fierce insurgency in the Sinai Peninsula, which borders Israel and the Paleostinian Gazoo Strip.

They have also claimed attacks in or near Cairo, including the abduction and murder of a Croatian oil worker and the bombing of the Italian consulate in 2015.

Other lesser-known groups have also conducted attacks since the army overthrew Islamist president Mohammed Morsi in 2013 and cracked down on his supporters.

Britain
UK: Migrant's foster mother finds he isn't 12-year-old
More on the issue we read about here.
[JihadWatch] The ignorance and kindness of Westerners is being exploited on a much larger basis than most people realize or than authorities are willing to admit.

"I'll kill you and I know where your children are."

Those are words that British authorities should ponder. But they won't.

"Cuckoo in the nest: Migrant foster mum reveals her horror at discovering '12-year-old refugee' in her care is actually a 21-year-old Jihadi," by Nigel Bunyan and Chris Pollard, The Sun, October 22, 2016:

A FOSTER mum who took in a child refugee has told of her horror after discovering he was a 21-year-old jihadi.

Kind-hearted Rosie welcomed Jamal into her family after social workers said he was a 12-year-old orphan who had fled Afghanistan.

But she became suspicious when she noticed how hairy he was, and how adept he was at firing a rifle.

Jamal was rumbled when a dentist estimated he was a decade older than claimed. Taliban material and child abuse images were later found on his mobile.

The blunder comes after migrants claiming to be children were bussed to the UK from Calais' Jungle camp. It is feared terrorists could use the same ruse.

Rosie, whose full name we are hiding to protect her from reprisals, said: "Adults are playing the system. It's putting families like mine and society as a whole at risk.

"I don't see anything wrong with dental and bone density checks. Some say they are intrusive and degrading. But having a man in your home who's pretending to be a child is far more intrusive."

When Rosie and husband Pete, 57, took in Jamal they all switched to halal meat.

She said: "He looked thin and I thought, &'Bless him'. He was so humble, polite."

He roomed with a boy, aged 13. Two girls, 12 and 14, were also in the house.

Alarm bells rang when the family went swimming and Rosie's 13-year-old commented on how hairy he was.

At a climbing centre he shimmied up ropes with ease, and at a shooting range he stripped a gun before firing it.

On a bus to college he was told to get off by a driver who didn't believe he was 16. Rosie, who lives in the South East, said: "It's ridiculous how everybody else could see it but not the social workers."

Jamal's behaviour worsened. He put the 13-year-old in expert holds, demanded cash and got calls from unknown numbers.

One day he claimed he couldn't pray because there were too many posters on his wall. The interpreter told him, "What do you mean? Allah doesn't mind?"

His last words to Rosie were: "I'll kill you and I know where your children are."

She added: "I can't say he was a terrorist but I do think he came from a training camp. He was a great actor.

"Every day I check the car, and that all the house windows are shut. I panic because I know he knows our routine."

Since being arrested for an alleged assault, Jamal has been turned down for asylum but is appealing....

A civilization that declares such delusions to be the societal orthodoxy is functionally insane and not viable.

Yasin Malik shifted to ICU in critical condition
[NATION.PK] Jammu and Kashmire Liberation Front (JKLF) leader Yasin Malik
...chairman of one of the two factions of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front. JKLF is a Kashmiri nationalist organization founded in Birmingham, UK in 1977. Branches weren't actually established in Kashmir for another ten years. It has the usual demands for separation of J&K from secular India so it can become an independent Islamic rathole. It seems to have no interest in Pak Kashmir breaking away to join it. In 1994 Malik renounced violence after he was released from jail and from that point he and his organization pursued peaceful means to impose their will on the region...
was shifted to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after his health severely deteriorated, family sources said.

Malik was earlier shifted to a medical institute in Srinagar after his condition deteriorated on Saturday, hours after protests were held in the area, the Kashmiri Media Service reported Sunday.

Family sources told APP that his left arm had stopped working.
Sounds like a stroke.
Mr. Wife has been having that kind of problem from pinched nerves in his C3 and C5 vertebrae....
The JKLF leader's wife, Mashal Malik, fell unconscious upon hearing the news and is being given medical treatment, the sources said.

"He underwent various medical tests. He is suffering a severe infection and has been advised by doctors to undergo a surgery. He was then referred to Soura Medical Institute where he was admitted to Intensive Care Unit," a JKLF front man said.

Malik's family earlier said that he was being denied medical treatment.

"Yasin Malik is unable to walk or sit properly. In absence of medical aid, his health condition has tanked. We are not demanding his release. He is a public leader, but medical aid must be provided to him without any further delay. He has undergone various surgeries in the past. He is in need of several medicines," they said.
His condition is now said to be stable.

Speaking to the press earlier this month, Mashal Malik said, "My husband has grown very weak and lost over 15kg. Last week he was taken to hospital in army’s custody where his medical tests were conducted and results are alarming."

The JKLF leader has been under detention since July 9 when protests against the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen Commander Burhan Wani erupted across Indian-held Kashmire. Over 80 people have been killed and hundreds of protesters injured in festivities with Indian security forces.

Arabia
Saudi warplanes resume bombing Yemen as truce expires
[Iran Press TV] Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
has resumed its Arclight airstrikes against Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
after the expiry of a three-day ceasefire in the war-ravaged country.

The Saudi jets conducted more than 16 Arclight airstrikes on areas across the provinces of Sana’a, Ta’izz, Hudaydah and Hajjah at dawn on Sunday, Yemen’s al-Masirah television reported.

Several neighborhoods in Sana’a, including Nihm, Naqim and Hafa as well as Deylami airbase were targeted in rocket attacks.

Similar air raids also hit districts of Mukha and Abs, situated in Ta’izz and in Hajjah, respectively.

The strikes happened hours after the 72-hour ceasefire ended without renewal. The truce was brokered by the UN to allow aid to reach families trapped in areas cut off by the war in the Arab country.

The raids further came before the arrival in Sana’a of UN Special Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, who is expected to discuss options for a political solution to the conflict.

Summary on Insurgency-Staged Violations against Yemen Ceasefire
And you thought the Russian Donbas rebels ceasefire accounting was tedious
Violations to the Yemen ceasefire in its first 24 hours of implementation:

Violations registered against foreign territory:

205 attacks recorded against Saudi borderline cities of Jizan and Najraan

Violations registered within Yemen territory:
265 in the city of Taiz
116 in the Jaawf region
124 in the city of Marib
144 in Daleh governorate
48 in Hajjeh governorate
41 in Al Bayda
24 in Shabwah

Insurgency militias staged all transgressions through systematic firing of heavy to medium and low caliber arms. Projectile and sniper activity was also recorded.

Warring parties in Yemen had agreed to a 72-hour ceasefire that took effect shortly before midnight Oct.18– The Gulf nation has descended into chaos after local Houthi Iran-backed militias staged a coup against the constitutionally elected government in 2014.

The insurgency’s routine violation to prior humanitarian ceasefires made observers skeptic on this truce turning out any different. Political analysts believe that Houthi militias have no say in their own commitment to announced armistice—when it comes to the insurgency’s decision-making process, Iran still holds great influence fostered by its support for the group.

Pakistan 'Squeezing' Fugitive Taliban Leaders to Leave or Engage in Afghan Peace Process
[VOA News] Fugitive Afghan Taliban leaders are being increasingly pressured to relocate from Pakistain along with their families and businesses for refusing to join peace talks with Kabul
...the capital of Afghanistan. Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the World and didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either....
, officials and Lion of Islam sources told VOA in background interviews.

"The squeeze is continuing on them [the Taliban] and some have already left, or [are] leaving the country," says a senior Pak official directly involved in matters related to the Afghan policy.

He did not want to be named because publicly the government has not yet acknowledged the crackdown, which is part of the policy to seek an early repatriation from Pakistain of nearly three million registered and undocumented Afghan refugees.

International pressure
Pakistain has been under pressure from international partners, particularly the U.S. to deny space to the Taliban and other groups waging the violent insurgency in Afghanistan. The country denies charges its spy agency’s covertly supports the Taliban and its ally, the Haqqani Network, enabling them to prolong the Afghan war and expand influence of the faceless myrmidons after withdrawal of U.S.-led international combat forces.

The spike in violence has undermined efforts to improve bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Pakistain.

All three held key positions in the insurgency and were arrested after they ignored requests to hold peace and reconciliation talks with the Afghan government, according to Pak and Lion of Islam officials. Police arrest 19 East Jerusalem residents for Yom Kippur riots
[IsraelTimes] In overnight raids, army also picks up 2 Paleostinians in West Bank, seizes alleged terror funds

Police incarcerated
Drop the rod and step away witcher hands up!
19 residents of East Jerusalem’s Arab neighborhoods on Saturday night and early Sunday morning for throwing rocks and rioting over the Jewish High Holidays, a police spokesperson said.

In the West Bank, the Israel Defense Forces and Border Police also arrested two Paleostinians in separate overnight raids and confiscated money that was suspected of being "designated for terror activities," the army said.

The 19 people, including five minors, arrested in East Jerusalem were "suspected of taking part in riots that were carried out during the holidays, with an emphasis on the riots during Yom Kippur," the police said.

During the Yom Kippur holiday on October 12, which came two days after a deadly Jerusalem shooting attack in which a 60-year-old woman and a police officer were killed, residents of the terrorists’ neighborhood of Silwan clashed with security forces.

During the violent protest, Israeli forces rubbed out a 20-year-old Paleostinian man, Ali Shiouki, Paleostinian officials said. Israeli authorities acknowledged they had shot at a man who was part of a group that threw Molotov cocktails at them "while greatly endangering the soldiers’ lives."

Saturday night and Sunday morning, coppers raided Jabel Mukaber, Issawiya, the Shuafat refugee camp and Silwan "in order to locate and arrest the rioters who threw rocks, Molotov cocktails, set fire to trash cans and blockaded streets," according to a police statement.

"This planned operation was based on exact and high-quality intelligence," police said.

At the same time, the IDF, along with the Border Police’s undercover unit and the Shin Bet security service, picked up two Paleostinians. One suspect was arrested in Fasayil, near Jericho in the Jordan Valley, on an unspecified charge. The other -- named by Arabic media as Qusay Abu Shehab -- was picked up in Azzun, outside Hebron. He is suspected of being a member of the Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", terrorist group, the army said.

During Abu Shehab’s arrest, security forces also confiscated an undisclosed amount of money they said was going to be used to fund terrorist activities.

Ahead of the upcoming Simhat Torah holiday, which starts Sunday at sundown, the IDF closed off the West Bank and Gazoo to Paleostinian travel for 48 hours.

The closure went into effect on Saturday at 11:59 p.m., and the checkpoints and crossings are expected to re-open on Monday at 11:59 p.m., dependent upon a "situational assessment," the army said in a statement.

Exceptions would be made for medical emergencies and other "humanitarian cases," dependent upon the approval of the Defense Ministry’s Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), the IDF said.

Security has been tight for this year’s Jewish High Holiday season, which began in early October, with fears of a new surge in violence.

IDF fire rubber bullets at three Palestinians who touched the fence surrounding Beit El; one injured in the leg

[Ynet] Three Paleostinians approached and touched the fence surrounding the settlement of Beit El located in the Binyamin region Sunday afternoon. IDF soldiers present at the scene opened fire with rubber bullets, hitting one of the suspicious individuals in his leg.

The victims were brought to the execution site in three consecutive batches,” adding that, “After the execution the bodies were transferred by bulldozers to mass graves at the same area.”

“Nearly 150 of these victims were executed after sunset on Thursday,” Al Sumaria added. “61 victims did not exceed the age of 14 years, and the dead were residents of villages and towns located to the northwest of Mosul, including al-Zawiya town,” Al Sumaria explained.

ISIS executes 7 for desertion

[ARA News] Qamshli – The radical Islamic State (ISIS) group executed on Sunday at least seven of its own militant fighters on charges of “high treason”.

The militants were executed for escaping the battlefront in Mosul, activists and eyewitnesses reported.

“Those fighters had evacuated their posts in Mosul in northern Iraq without permission, heading to the Syrian border,” media activist Abdullah al-Malla told ARA News.

The militants were arrested by the ISIS-linked Hisba Police upon their arrival to Syria’s eastern governorate of Deir ez-Zor.

“They were arrested at the al-Bukamal border crossing on Sunday morning,” a source close to ISIS in Deir ez-Zor told ARA News.

The seven militants were charged with “high treason” for attempting dissidence.

They were executed by firing squad in front of hundreds of people in Deir ez-Zor.

This comes amid intensified fighting in Mosul, where the Kurdish Peshmerga forces and Iraqi Army, backed by the US-led coalition, have launched a major offensive on ISIS’ main bastion in Iraq.

Situation ripe for a change: Siraj
[NATION.PK] Jamaat-e-Islami
...The Islamic Society, founded in 1941 in Lahore by Maulana Sayyid Abul Ala Maududi, aka The Great Apostosizer. The Jamaat opposed the independence of Bangladesh but has operated an independent branch there since 1975. It maintains close ties with international Mohammedan groups such as the Moslem Brotherhood. the Taliban, and al-Qaeda. The Jamaat's objectives are the establishment of a pure Islamic state, governed by Sharia law. It is distinguished by its xenophobia, and its opposition to Westernization, capitalism, socialism, secularism, and liberalist social mores...
chief Sirajul Haq
...current head of the Pak Jamaat-e-Islami. Siraj was born in 1962 and entered politics shortly after that...
said on Saturday that that the nation had tried socialism, secularism and nationalism, which failed to deliver, as the wellbeing of humans and protection of life, property and respect of the people lie only in Islamic system.

Situation in the country was ripe for a change, Siraj said. He said that nation had voted for the Khans, Nawabs and Waderas during last 70 years but it did not get Roti, Kapra or Makan.

Instead, people were deprived of their fundamental rights, he said this while speaking at JI KP’s sponsored two-day congregation, which kicked off here at Azakhel in Nowshera district.

Commenting on the tears shed by the Prime Minister at his yesterday’s public meeting, he said that PM was shedding tears not on the despondency of the masses but on his fate.

JI chief said that for the last 70 years, country had been ruled by the corrupt elite who plundered trillions of rupees from public money while the common man was unable to get clean drinking water.

Hundreds of JI activists and workers both men and women are participating in the congregation from KP and FATA.

He said the entire system of accountability was ineffective as NAB only catches small fish while the big guns went scot-free.
