The lies of mobster Tony Sobama
...
I think when Donald Trump sat down to talk with Barry Soetoro, in the White House, the other day, he listened and watched for awhile, as Barry pontificated. And Trump gradually came to realize for the first time, that he was dealing with a dangerous psychopath ready to blow out like a bad tire at 200 miles an hour.

I envision them sitting there, Barry tense with the smug confidence of a maniac, telling Trump how it’s going to be--Barry still in charge of the world, Barry still holding power, Barry calling the shots for next two months, and beyond.

Barry making threats about what he wants and what he might do to guarantee that he gets what he wants.

I see Trump in sudden realization of the utter danger, not daring to make any sudden moves, lest he set the monster off like a string of firecrackers.

I see Trump, poker-faced, not moving, thinking, "I’ve got to guide America through the minefield of this man’s delusions for the next two months--just get through any way I can. My God; everything depends on humoring this monster."

Okay, maybe he wasn’t thinking exactly that, but I’m close. And that explains what you’re seeing with Trump; why he’s been praising Barry Soetoro, and seeming to suck up. That’s why he actually looked apprehensive or nervous.

He must know that he Has to do that; play along in Barry’s nightmare. Or maybe risk World War III--ignited by a rattled, deluded, walking zombie of a man looking for relevance and a "legacy."

Dupe entry: Univision To Lay Off 200 Employees
Too bad Jorge Ramos isn't leading the charge out the door.
The Spanish-language media giant Univision Communications will lay off almost 6 percent of its workforce -- between 200 and 250 people -- after it slipped into the red last quarter, the company announced Wednesday.

The layoffs, along with a planned restructuring, "are in response to difficult times, challenging times," Isaac Lee, Univision’s digital, entertainment and news chief, told The Washington Post in his first public comments on the moves. "We need to position ourselves for the future."

Univision had a third-quarter net loss of $30.5 million, on total revenues of $735 million, down 8 percent.
Congratulations - you're now a non-profit entity!

Hunter sez military needs counterrevolution, reverse social engineering policies
[Wash Times] A key congressional supporter of Donald Trump says the president-elect’s defense secretary should move quickly to reverse a number of social engineering policies adopted in the Obama years that "have cut down on the warrior mentality."

Rep. Duncan Hunter, California Republican, told The Washington Times that the armed forces need a counterrevolution. It should reverse at least three policies: women in the infantry, open transgender troops and the near-banishment of the word "man" from Navy and Marine Corps titles.

Mr. Hunter, a high-profile member of House Armed Services Committee, was one of the first in Congress to back Mr. Trump. He co-chaired the New York real estate magnate’s congressional leadership committee and promoted Mr. Trump in op-eds and media interviews.

The Trump transition team is considering Mr. Hunter for Navy secretary or even secretary of defense, a huge steppingstone for a 39-year-old former Marine Corps major.

Frank Gaffney, a Reagan admin vet possible in Trump's Transition Team
[WSJ] WASHINGTON--Another round of staff changes buffeted President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team Tuesday amid resistance from within the Republican Party over a top choice for secretary of state.

Vice President-elect Mike Pence formally signed documents that put him in charge of the transition team, and officials insisted the 10-week effort to build an administration is on schedule. In one of his first moves, Mr. Pence ordered the removal of all lobbyists from the transition team, said one transition team member with knowledge of the decisions.

Earlier Tuesday, former Michigan Rep. Mike Rogers, once considered a candidate to lead the Central Intelligence Agency, was ousted from the Trump transition team’s national security unit. Matthew Freedman, who was leading the group’s planning for the White House National Security Council, also departed. Mr. Freedman didn’t return messages seeking comment.

Mr. Rogers was told he was being replaced because everyone who was brought in by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, the transition team’s original chairman, was being ousted, according to a person familiar with the conversation. Frank Gaffney, a Reagan administration veteran, was brought in to assist on national security issues, as has GOP U.S. Reps. Pete Hoekstra and Devin Nunes.

Texas Oil Patch just got much larger
[Breitbart] A western Texas oil and natural gas shale formation was labeled the "largest" of its kind by the U.S. Geological Survey on Tuesday.

Federal surveyors announced that the Wolfcamp shale in the Midland Basin portion of Texas’ Permian Basin now holds the record for most oil, natural gas, and gas liquid deposits that are "undiscovered, technically recoverable resources."

The USGS notes that within its survey spanning from north of Lubbock to remote regions southwest of San Angelo, an estimated and previously unaccounted for 20 billion barrels of crude oil; 16 trillion cubic feet of natural gas; and 1.6 billion barrels of natural gas liquids are able to be extracted by means typically involving slant drilling and hydraulic fracturing, commonly known as "fracking". The figures are based on official methods that project untapped resources amid formations already surveyed and exploited.

Total US proved reserves were about 20 B barrels in 2008 and are about 40 B barrels in 2016.

Unconventional deposits in the US include tight formations, kerogen (aka oil shale) formations, oil sands and so forth. Combined they are somewhere about a trillion or so barrels. As technology improves additional increments of these deposits become economical to extract.

Ex-INS Special Agent: Cut Funds of Sanctuary Cities (Video)
[NewsMax] American metropolises that threaten to remain "sanctuary cities" for illegal immigrants despite an expected Trump administration crackdown should have their law enforcement and education programs defunded, says Michael Cutler, a former special agent with the Immigration and Naturalization Service.

"His hands aren't [tied]. He's certainly talked about defunding the cities and I hope he doesn't just mean law enforcement. He ought to cut funding for education," Cutler said Tuesday to Bill Tucker on Newsmax TV's "America Talks Live."

"The Congressional Budget Office did a study back in 2007 and said there were 12 million illegals, said it cost 20-40 percent more to educate kids who can't speak English.
"And if ever we have an amnesty program of any sort ... we're talking about the potential for millions of more students. This is devastating to the school system, it's devastating to employment."

Who is Walid Phares, Trump's Mideast adviser?
...Being Trump’s right-hand man for the Middle East is a long way from the Beirut of the 1980s, when Phares trained Lebanese militants in ideological beliefs justifying the war against Lebanon’s Muslim and Druse factions, according to former colleagues who were quoted in an investigative piece published by Mother Jones magazine in 2011 after Phares was named as an adviser by then Republican nominee Mitt Romney. These colleagues said Phares advocated that Lebanon’s Christians work toward creating a separate, independent Christian enclave. The article, to which Phares did not respond, also alleged that he was a close adviser of Samir Geagea, a Lebanese- Christian warlord.

Phares did not depart from his hard-line Christian nationalist views even after he moved from Lebanon to the US in 1990 and launched an academic career.

He became an American citizen.

Seven years later, he tried to lobby the Israeli government to carve out a state for Christians in the security zone Israel maintained in southern Lebanon, despite the fact that Israel had been burned badly when it allied with Lebanese Christians in 1982, that most of zone’s inhabitants were Shiite Muslims and that Israel already had its hands full dealing with an insurgency by Hezbollah.

The Christian state could be viable, Phares insisted, with its capital in Marjayoun and a port in Nakoura. It would be a non-Arab state and natural partner of the Jewish state, because the Lebanese Christians are not Arabs, he asserted.
Israel, wasn't particularly enthusiastic, but it was then.
...Matthew Duss, director of the Foundation for Middle East Peace sees things differently, however.

"Phares is one of a number of close Trump advisers with extremely troubling foreign- policy views which basically mirror those of Islamic extremists: Islam and the West are at war. It’s difficult to overstate how counterproductive it would be for the US to adopt this vision," he said.
Looks very productive to me. So, he understands Islam, and his only drawback - his primary loyalty to Maronites not USA. Which is not a problem if Trump keeps it in mind.

Clayton Mo. approves $75 million in tax breaks for Centene Healthcare HQ
[Post Dispatch] The Clayton Board of Aldermen unanimously approved a tax abatement agreement with Centene Corp. on Tuesday night that paves the way for the fast-growing health insurer to build a huge new office campus for 2,000 additional employees.

An agreement between the Medicaid managed care company and Clayton knocks 40 percent off real property taxes on the new buildings planned along Forsyth Boulevard in downtown Clayton. Half of the personal property taxes are to be abated.

The vote came despite opposition from some residents, who complaints included the hefty tax incentives, the lack of a public vote on the plan, congestion from the project and construction noise while it is built.

Mayor Harold Sanger, while expressing empathy for residents’ concerns, said board members ultimately made the decision they believe is best for the community, including the school district.

Sanger added that some opposition to the proposal was based on misinformation, namely people believing that a tax abatement means the city is taking public funds "and writing a check" to Centene to build.

In all, the agreement is projected to save Centene about $75 million over 20 years, or about $40 million in today’s dollars, on the $772 million project. The company has also won approval for $10 million in Missouri BUILD bonds and has requested some $35 million in state incentives for companies that add enough new workers.

#1  ...Call me cynical ("You're cynical!") but I'd be curious to know exactly what kind of gratitude is being shown to the Board of Aldermen to get a 40% property tax break.

Wish every state had a law that says ANYTHING past about 15% needs to be approved at the state level, because they're the ones who will have to bail these places out when it unexpectedly goes south....

#2  A $772 MILLION project will generate a lot more than the 2000 jobs in the company.

Huge sales tax and income source for the state and locals from the building materials and labor costs of the project...

The $75 million in tax savings to the company are a spit in the ocean to the multiplier effect of the income and material purchase cash flow from the construction.

Boeing moving 500 jobs from California to St. Louis County
[Post Dispatch] Boeing Co. is moving 500 jobs to its north St. Louis County campus from California.

The jobs moving to St. Louis County from Huntington Beach, Calif., are part of a consolidation of the company’s Defense, Space & Security business headquartered in St. Louis, spokeswoman Sarah Reed told the Post-Dispatch.

"We will be bringing 500 positions to St. Louis," Reed said, adding the jobs are support positions, not production jobs. Chicago-based Boeing currently employs 14,500 people in the St. Louis area.

Additionally, Boeing announced Tuesday that it’s closing its El Paso, Texas, and Newington, Va., sites.

"In order to push ourselves farther and win more business, we need to make the most of our resources and talent," Leanne Caret, president and CEO, Defense, Space & Security, said in a statement. "These steps will help us be a stronger partner for our customers worldwide."

The consolidation is part of an effort to enhance efficiency and promote greater collaboration, the company said, adding that new facilities will not be added in the St. Louis area for the added jobs. "We won’t be adding any infrastructure at this point," Reed said.

The jobs are professional-level positions ranging from engineering to finance, said Reed.

About 1,600 jobs will be moved from Huntington Beach, mainly to other California locations. Huntington Beach hosts a design and research center working with small satellite technology, advanced space access, networked systems, cybersecurity, unmanned underwater vehicles, and advanced manufacturing.

Boeing has moved several hundred jobs to St. Louis over the past three years, in fields such as information technology, research and development and support for the F-22 Raptor fighter. But overall Boeing employment in the metro area has hovered in the 14,500 to 15,000 range.

Boeing plans to hire 700 people by 2023 to make wing and tail parts for its 777X airline at a newly built plant at its sprawling complex in north St. Louis County.

Thousands of other St. Louis production jobs face an uncertain future over the long term as Boeing seeks enough orders to keep its F/A-18 and F-15 fighter lines far into the next decade. The company has enough F/A-18 orders to operate until 2020 and enough F-15 orders to last until early in the next decade.

Boeing is bidding to build the next Air Force trainer, and a win would likely extend employment in St. Louis. The first prototype of the trainer was built in North County.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Boston Herald's Adriana Cohen: Many are deserving deportation
[Boston Herald] The liberal hypocrites on the internet and the social justice warriors on college campuses are in an uproar, swooning with feigned outrage because President-elect Donald Trump has said he is going to enforce our nation’s immigration laws.

They call him a bigot. They call him a racist. They call him every other possible slur you can imagine.

So what would you call President Obama?

Obama has deported more illegal immigrants than the three prior U.S. presidents. More than both Bushes and President Bill Clinton. According to Pew Research Center, from 2009 to 2014 Obama deported over 2.4 million illegal immigrants. Deportations since then likely put him well over the 3 million mark -- the very target number Trump is estimating to deport.

Obama did it in six years. Trump, apparently, would like to speed that up.

We aren’t talking about the parents of the American-born so-called Dreamers. We aren’t talking about people who just come here to work. Trump says he’ll make a determination on them later. We are talking about people who have committed criminal offenses.

Americans are well aware of the horrific crimes that have been committed by illegal aliens throughout our nation. The countless murders and brutal rapes of our neighbors and fellow citizens. Kate Steinle’s murder in San Francisco, and Matthew Denice here in Massachusetts, who was dragged to his death by an illegal drunk driver with a long rap sheet.

Talk about double standards. When an African-American Democrat president deports illegal immigrants he’s praised for respecting the rule of law. But when a white Republican president-elect talks about deporting illegals -- when he dares to mention what crimes people who don’t belong here have committed against citizens -- he’s a white nationalist and a racist who "wants to break up families."

Clearly the left is just playing identity politics.

They’d prefer to divide and conquer our great nation rather than unify it based on shared goals -- safe communities. They’ll tell you they believe in respecting the law and people’s rights, and then insist on ignoring it when a Republican says he wants to do just that.

Reasonable people realize you can’t have it both ways.

Bravo to our newly elected president for putting our safety first, with his promise to deport up to 3 million criminal illegal immigrants as his first order of business.

#1  You deport them and they just turn around a show back up again. Use the Congressional authority under Article III and make sure if they return, there is no 'standing' in the judicial processes of the United States. In effect they become an outlaw, one outside the state's protection.

Clinton Partisans' Latest Excuse for Defeat: Bernie Sanders and Millennials
[Observer] In the wake of Clinton’s loss, her minions have reverted to the same flawed tactics that failed miserably in the general election.

"Millennials are the worst" has been the prevailing attitude of the Democratic Party establishment toward its largest demographic of supporters. The denigration of millennials from Clinton partisans signals how oblivious they are to working and middle class Americans.

"The millennial coalition Obama created just didn’t translate to Clinton, despite the Beyoncé and Katy Perry concerts," wrote Asma Khaled and Joel Rose for NPR on November 14, in a hit piece blaming millennials for Clinton losing. Perhaps millennials have developed an abrasive attitude toward Clinton and establishment Democrats because Beyoncé and Katy Perry concerts were used by the campaign to solicit support, instead of actually addressing the issues and policies that gravely concern millennials’ futures.

In their fury at Gen Y, Clinton partisans never admit that they disproportionately supported Clinton over Donald Trump. Clinton’s loss can be credited to voters over the age of 45 who voted disproportionately for Trump over Clinton.

The pejorative narrative against millennials has been used for the past decade to explain away dissent after the 2008 economic recession. Clinton partisans used this election to discredit Bernie Sanders’ popularity. The Bernie bros narrative was propagated by Clinton shills in the media to portray the Vermont senator’s supporters as all sexist white males. The evidence they used was often falsely attributed to Sanders supporters or based purely on speculation and assumption. Most black voters under 30 voted for Sanders, yet Sanders’ campaign was whitewashed by mainstream media throughout the Democratic primaries.

Sunday's attack in the parking lot of a church in East Kalimantan province on the island of Borneo was the latest in a series that has raised concerns over rising militancy in the world's largest Moslem-majority nation. Police said the attacker had been imprisoned on terrorism charges in the past and had links to existing radical networks.

The Grand Turk
Hundreds Return to Southeast Turkish City after 8-Month Curfew
[AnNahar] Hundreds of people, including children, returned to the devastated Kurdish-dominated city of Sirnak in southeast The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
on Monday after an eight-month curfew was relaxed, an AFP photographer said.

Since March, Sirnak has been under curfew between 5am (0200 GMT) and 10pm (1900 GMT) as the Turkish military pursued a relentless campaign against Kurdish rebels.

The curfew has now been shortened to seven hours and will remain in place from 10pm to 5am.

There was renewed fighting in the Kurdish-majority southeast after a two-and-a-half-year ceasefire with the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) collapsed last year.

The PKK has been waging an insurgency since 1984.

As residents returned to their damaged homes in the city center, the majority found their houses uninhabitable following clean-up operations to rid the rebels from the area, the photographer said.

Some of the returnees, who came from other parts of Sirnak and Mardin province, were forced to cook outdoors because the city has no electricity or water, the photographer said.

Schools and mosques were also damaged during the fighting, sparking tears and anger among the locals.

"These were our homes, these were where our memories were, this was where our furniture was," one resident wailed.

"Now we are left alone, what will happen to us?" the resident said.

Many will be forced to live with family or friends while their homes are rebuilt and damaged homes are demolished.

A crisis center has been set up in the city to help those affected, local media reported.

Three schools had to be demolished while five were damaged, Dogan news agency reported, adding that some had reopened.

The Sirnak governor's office meanwhile asked residents to immediately report any suspicious package, cable or device to the security forces, Dogan said.

The curfew was imposed from March 14 as part of an operation to remove barricades and explosives planted by Kurdish rebels and to restore public order, the state-run Anadolu news agency reported.

Ankara has vowed to wipe out the PKK, classed as a terrorist organization by Turkey and its Western allies, and has conducted several military operations against the group.

According to Anadolu, over 7,000 PKK turbans have been killed since July last year and more than 600 Turkish security forces killed during festivities and attacks by the PKK. Since 1984, more than 40,000 have bit the dust in the insurgency.

It is not possible to independently verify the toll.

Bolton: Russia Will Take ‘A Lot of Actions' Before Trump Inauguration to Exploit Obama's Weakness
[Free Beacon] John Bolton, who could be the next secretary of state, said Tuesday that Russia would likely take "a lot of actions" before Donald Trump’s inauguration to exploit the weaknesses of President Obama.

In an appearance on Fox News, Bolton addressed the Russian airstrikes carried out against Syrian rebel forces this week in eastern Aleppo. Russia is allied with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

"I think that Russia will take a lot of actions before the 20th of January, as I think will other countries that see one last opportunity to exploit Obama’s weakness," Bolton said.

The Kremlin said in a statement that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Trump will work to iron out the current "unsatisfactory" relationship between the two countries. Bolton agreed with that description.

"Well, I think relations are very unsatisfactory, largely due to the behavior of Russia and the naiveté and incompetence of the Obama administration," he said. "I think we all remember that Hillary Clinton started out her tenure as secretary of state with the famous reset button, blaming what were then bad relationships between Washington and Moscow on the Bush administration, and it turned out that making one concession after another to Putin didn’t make relations any better."

Asked by Fox News host Bill Hemmer how Trump will deal with Putin differently than Obama, Bolton said Putin views Obama "quite correctly" as an "exceedingly weak leader."

"I think Trump is going to be the opposite. I think he’s going to be a strong leader," Bolton said. "I think that will have two dramatic impacts on Putin. Number one, it’ll make him a lot more hesitant to try and extend Russian influence, and two, what may seem paradoxical but what I think is true, it’ll make Putin more inclined to cooperate, because he’ll believe that if he makes a deal with another strong leader, they both will stick to it."

Bolton also addressed the rumors that he could be tapped to be Trump’s first chief diplomat. The former U.N. ambassador said he would be "honored" to serve the country again, but he said he and Trump had not discussed any such appointment.

Trump team mulling Cruz for AG: report
[The Hill] President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team is considering making Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) the next attorney general, according to a new report.

Cruz discussed a possible role in Trump’s upcoming administration at a meeting in Trump Tower in New York City Tuesday, a person familiar with the matter told Bloomberg Politics.

CNN's Jim Acosta reported that a source told him Cruz was on a "long short list" of potential attorney general picks.

Cruz visited Trump to offer assistance during the president-elect's transition talks, a transition aide told NBC News earlier in the day, adding that the Texas senator is not being considered for a Cabinet post.

A spokeswoman said after Cruz’s stop he was "pleased to have the opportunity to meet with President-elect Trump in New York."

"The American people issued a clear mandate to ’drain the swamp’ in Washington, repeal ObamaCare and start over with cost-effective, patient-centered healthcare reform, appoint constitutionalist judges to the Supreme Court, secure our southern border and enforce immigration laws, and enact policies that will create more good-paying jobs for the American people," Catherine Frazier said in a statement.

What may have led to Cong. Mike Rogers removal from Trump team
[WAPO] The ouster of former congressman Mike Rogers (R-Mich.) from Donald Trump’s transition team is a worrisome sign of continuing internecine battles in the GOP and the ascendancy of Trump’s personal political allies in shaping the president-elect’s agenda.
Who knew he was on the team anyway ?
Rogers, a widely respected former FBI agent who headed the House Intelligence Committee, had been seen as a figure of stability and continuity in intelligence matters. He was mentioned as a possible next director of the CIA or director of national intelligence. But Rogers was told last weekend by Rick Dearborn, executive director of the transition team, that he was being removed from his role in the national-security group advising Trump. He was replaced by Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), who took over as the committee’s chairman after Rogers left Congress in 2014 and has been a far more partisan chairman.

Rogers had angered House GOP hard-liners when his committee issued a bipartisan report in 2014 clearing Hillary Clinton of personal wrongdoing in the 2012 Benghazi incident. That report was characteristic of the way Rogers chaired the committee, in a working partnership with then-ranking Democrat, Rep. C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger (Md.). (Rogers added "additional views" that criticized "senior State Department officials" for dismissing threat warnings, denying requests for extra security in eastern Libya and other errors.)

But this consensual approach clearly didn’t suit Trump’s inner circle. Rogers had been brought into the transition by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R), another official with bipartisan credentials, who was ousted himself a week ago and replaced by Vice President-elect Mike Pence. Some GOP insiders see the real power behind Trump as his son-in-law Jared Kushner, and they argue that there has been bad blood between Kushner and Christie for more than a decade. In 2005, when he was U.S. attorney, Christie obtained a guilty plea from Charles Kushner, Jared’s father, on charges of tax evasion, witness tampering and illegal campaign contributions.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
‘I Go Where I Please:' Unshackle Navy To Reply To Iran
One of America’s first naval heroes, Commodore Stephen Decatur, was challenged by an Algerian admiral in 1815. Decatur’s reply is now enshrined in international law for ships sailing the seven seas: "I go where I please." This ethos came to define the mission of the U.S. Navy ‐ ensuring the high seas are free and safe for all legitimate shipping.

But just as the Barbary pirates of yore impeded safe passage, U.S. vessels today are challenged by new aggressors, Iran foremost. Iranian forces or their proxies have forcibly tried to prevent the U.S. Navy from sailing freely in international waters in the Persian Gulf and, more recently, in the Red Sea,.

Egypt court overturns death sentence against Mursi, orders retrial
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Egypt’s Court of Cassation has overturned a death sentence against deposed Islamist President Mohammed Mursi of the Moslem Brüderbund and ordered a retrial.

Mursi was sentenced to death in June 2015 in connection with a mass jail break during the country’s 2011 uprising.

The first president to be democratically elected after the 2011 revolt, Mursi was tossed in mid-2013 following mass protests against his rule.

Mursi, who was immediately incarcerated

Bangladesh
Pakistan scrounging for alleged pre-war dues worth $88m
[Dhaka Tribune] Islamabad has begun the process of asking Dhaka for around $88m that it says are "outstanding dues" that Bangladesh owes Pakistain.

According to a Pakistain Express Tribune report, Pakistain’s central bank has written to Pak commercial banks and development finance institutions, asking for details of assets and other dues receivable from Bangladesh and India.

No Bangladesh government officials have yet commented on the matter.

The State Bank of Pakistain (SBP) circular says the receivables and assets include land, buildings, furniture and fixtures, office equipment and vehicles, government securities, papers, loans, advances and investments.

According to SBP figures, the value of assets in Bangladesh’s possession is more than 9.21bn Pak Rupees, approximately $88m, at the end of June 2016. India is estimated to owe 6bn Pak Rupees, roughly $57m.

Pak Banks and financial institutions were also asked to provide details of any write-offs they made in respect of assets or dues.

The Express Tribune report, quoting SBP figures that Bangladesh as the then East Pakistain owed Pakistain’s federal exchequer, said the money in question included transactions between government offices, loans, advances and papers.

Details from banks and financial institutions that will be provided to the SBP are expected to increase the estimated outstanding dues.

Pakistain says India has been Pakistain’s debtor since the time of partition. These debts include gold reserves, sterling securities, Indian securities, rupee coins and Pakistain’s share in the Indian currency at the time of partition.

Md Shahidul Haque, secretary of Foreign Affairs Ministry, declined to comment on the matter when contacted by the Dhaka Tribune.

The issue came to the fore at a time when a serious discussion kick started in Bangladesh public sphere regarding what Bangladesh is supposed to receive from Pakistain as pre-Liberation War dues.

In 2015, Bangladesh Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali told the Jatiya Sangsad (Bangladesh Parliament) that Pakistain owes Tk18,000 crore (approx $2.3bn), which includes $2.16bn ‐ half of the wartime reserve of undivided Pakistain ‐ and $200m as the 1970 cyclone relief donated by foreign governments.

He also said these financial issues had been raised in all bilateral talks since 1977 but the Pakistain representatives are yet to respond on the matter.

India bans Zakir Naik’s Islamic Research Foundation
[Dhaka Tribune] Controversial preacher Zakir Naik has once again stirred the news when an Indian Cabinet meeting on Tuesday moved to ban his NGO Islamic Research Foundation for five years.

The ban is to go into effect immediately. The government labelled the Islamic Research Foundation as an "unlawful organization" which was susceptible to the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in India.

The Times of India reported that an "unlawful" association is different from a "terrorist" organization listed under UAPA. The law defines "unlawful association" as any organization "which has for its object any activity that is punishable under Section 153A or 153B of IPC" ‐ provisions dealing with threat to social and communal harmony.

The Indian government claimed that Zakir Naik’s programmes on Peace TV were allegedly communal and pro-Jihad.

Dr Zakir Naik has numerous cases filed against him in India, mostly allegations of inspiring people to become a terrorist.

The National Investigation Agency of India has also plans to press charges of terrorism against him by using testimonies of captive Death Eaters who admitted Naik’s speeches encouraged them to a great extent.

Zakir Naik is banned in the United Kingdom and Canada for his "hate speech", reported the Times of India.

Naik has not responded to the freshly-imposed ban till the time of this report being written.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Strikes hit east Aleppo after weeks of relative calm
The heaviest bombardment in weeks hit Syria's rebel-held eastern Aleppo on Tuesday morning while warplanes were visible in the sky, a civil defense official said.

"It's all air strikes and parachute bombs. Today, the bombing is violent... There hasn't been this kind of attack in more than 15 days," said Ibrahim Abu al-Laith.

Three hospitals in Aleppo have been hit by air raids in the past 24 hours, leaving medical staff and patients maimed, a monitor said.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said it could not immediately determine whether the strikes in Aleppo had been carried out by Russian or Syrian government aircraft.

One hospital in the village of Awijel in the west of the province was hit during the night. Among the maimed were patients who had been moved there after a hospital in the nearby village of Kafr Naha was hit on Monday, the Britannia-based monitoring group said.

A third hospital -- in the town of Atareb -- was hit five times in the early hours of Monday, the group added.

The strikes destroyed operating rooms and the hospital pharmacy, damaged ambulances and maimed medical staff.

The hospitals in Atareb and Kafr Naha have both been hit by previous air strikes.

Russia's Defence Ministry has said that Russian missile strikes did not hit the Syrian city of Aleppo on Tuesday, according to Interfax news agency.

The ministry said Russian and Syrian jets had not bombed Aleppo for the last 28 days, Interfax reported.

Human rights groups have accused the Syrian government and its ally Russia of deliberately targeting medical facilities in rebel-held areas, a claim both Damascus and Moscow deny.

In recent months, the government has been engaged in a major offensive aimed at recapturing rebel-held areas of Aleppo.

Some of the main hospitals in the city's eastern sector have been destroyed by the accompanying air and artillery bombardment.

Iran’s Basij commander: United States will fall by 2035
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Commander of Iran’s Basij forces Mohammad Reza Naghdi has said that the United States will collapse in less than 20 years and that President-elect Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
will speed up the process.

"According to the analysis made by the behind-the-stage and shadow decision-makers of the establishment in the US, the United States will collapse in 2035 and I think that it is an optimistic analysis as this will take place much earlier," Naghdi told Iranian Fars News Agency.

Noting that outgoing US President Barack Obama
teachable moment...
"showed the face of the US in disguise".

Naghdi also said that Trump represents "the real face of the US and he may accelerate collapse of the US".

The Basij’s militia commander has been known for controversial statements and action. He oversaw the destruction of 100,000 satellite dishes and receivers in July as part of a widespread crackdown against the illegal devices in Iran that authorities say are morally damaging.

"The truth is that most satellite channels... deviate the society’s morality and culture," he said at the time.

Ignoring the governor, New Jersey refugee contractors vow to place them as fast as Obama admits them!
Admitting it again! Trump does not need Congress to cut off the flow!

Trump campaigned on a promise to stop the flow of refugees from the Middle East, vowing to hit the pause button on the current administration’s acceptance of refugees from the brutal civil war in Syria. Since the refugee resettlement program is administered by the U.S. State Department, a president does not need congressional approval to make the change.

And, just as we predicted! Obama may be trying to front-end the resettlement of his 110,000 refugee plan for FY2017. However, contractors beware because if you get out ahead of your federal funding, you may actually have to find private money later in the year (or go belly-up!).

The New Jersey-based agencies that have federal contracts to help refugees find housing and jobs all vow to continue to welcome people who have come to New Jersey from at least 18 countries. [Progress when mainstream media mentions that the ’religious’ groups have federal contracts!--ed]

If anything, some expect the pace of resettlement may pick up as the Obama administration tries to bring over as many families as possible before Trump takes office in January, one volunteer said.
Using private contractors paid by the number of "refugees" resettled. "We will hang the capitalists with the rope that they sell us." - Attributed to Marx, Stalin and Lenin, depending upon research.

Tunisian authorities unearth three arms caches on Libya’s border
The Tunisian authorities said Monday that they had seized three big arms caches over the last weekend on the Tunisian border city with Libya, Ben Guerdane.

The Tunisian Interior Ministry said the arms caches contained large quantities of Kalashnikov rifles, rockets and landmines.

Tunisia has been so fearful that IS Death Eaters, who are originally from Tunisia and are now clashing in Sirte with the Misrata-led forces, would make a clandestine return to their country and thus make it vulnerable to terror and turmoil.

Back in July 2015, Tunisia announced that it had started building a separation barrier and a trench alongside the Ras Ajdair border with Libya to prohibit the infiltration of bully boyz into Tunisia.

However,
some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them...
after building the barrier, Tunisia was struck by a wave of IS terror in March 2016, when IS bandidos Death Eaters clashed with the Tunisian army, killing at least 53 people.

7 dead in alleged US airstrikes on houses in Gardah town
[Libya Observer] Gardah Municipal Council said Monday US Arclight airstrikes had struck houses in the town killing at least 7 people.

Mayor Hassan Maatouk said the Monday night Arclight airstrikes caused panic among the locals and destroyed more than 10 houses leaving more than 40 people maimed. He described the humanitarian situation in the town as desperate.

"The Arclight airstrikes left the residents no choice but to sleep with no shelter and that the injured received medical treatment 30 kms away in Barak al-Shatee region." He added.

Elaborating on the humanitarian situation, he pointed to the dilapidated health facilities and the acute shortage of medical staff and supplies in his town.

Mayor Maatouk did not comment on the identity of the victims, but local sources indicated that the Arclight airstrikes had targeted civilians' houses and a house where Abu Talha al-Hasnawi, an alleged al-Qaeda member, was staying. The sources said he is still alive and suffers from minor wounds.

Gardah is a town in Wadi al Shatii region in central-west of Libya.

Turkey resume airstrikes in northern Syria
Turkey announced that it is resuming air strikes in support of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) as part of operation Euphrates Shield after an agreement with the “interested parties” was reached.

In statements that he made after a Turkish cabinet meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey and the Turkish government spokesman Numan Kurtulmus said that his country has resumed the provision of air support for the Free Syrian Army as part of operation Euphrates Shield. He also said that the FSA is close to the city of Al-Bab in the eastern countryside of the Aleppo province.

Kurtulmus added that Turkey can once again provide the FSA with logistical support from the air after talks with the parties concerned including Russia and Turkey, and that Turkey will end operation Euphrates Shield only when it has fully achieved its objectives.

The Syrian regime and forces loyal to it threatened to target any Turkish military aircraft flying in northern Syria after Turkey bombed sites belonging to the Kurdish People’s Protection Units last month as part of operation Euphrates Shield. Moscow also expressed its reservation about the Turkish bombardment.

Turkey has coordinated with Russia through a tripartite mechanism involving representatives of the general staff, the intelligence services and the foreign ministries of the two countries regarding Syria. Moscow will facilitate communication between Ankara and the Syrian regime if this becomes necessary.

Sources said that Turkey is particularly keen that the demographic structure and composition in Aleppo does not change. They also said that there is coordination with Moscow in this regard and also with regards to ways of providing humanitarian aid to the besieged residents of Aleppo.

On the ground, armed opposition factions that are taking part in operation Euphrates Shield are continuing to make advances in the direction of the city of Al-Bab which is the last ISIS stronghold in the eastern Aleppo countryside with the support of the Turkish army and air cover provided by the international coalition. They have managed to reach the outskirts of Al-Bab after gaining control of eight villages in the east of the city after violent clashes with ISIS fighters.

Yemeni govt snubs Kerry’s end of hostilities deal
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Yemeni Foreign Minister al-Mekhlafi said Tuesday that his government was not consulted on the cessation of hostilities deal announced in the same day by US Secretary of State John F. I was in Vietnam, you know Kerry
Former Senator-for-Life from Massachussetts, self-defined war hero, speaker of French, owner of a lucky hat, conqueror of Cambodia, and current Secretary of State...
, Al Arabiya News Channel reported.

Mekhlafi criticized the agreement saying it will jeopardize prospects of reaching peace between Yemen’s warring sides.

"The government was not aware of nor is it interested in what Secretary Kerry announced, which represents a desire to scuttle peace efforts by trying to reach an agreement with the Houthis apart from the government," Mekhlafi wrote on his official twitter page.

Mekhlafi made his statement after Kerry said the Iran-backed Houthi

Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. and the Arab Coalition have agreed to cessation of hostilities starting on Nov. 17.

Speaking to journalists at the end of a visit to the United Arab Emirates, Kerry added that all parties to the conflict have also agreed to work to set up a Yemeni national unity government by the end of the year.

In a related story, Saudi air defense forces on Tuesday intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile fired from Yemen towards the kingdom, the coalition said.

The missile was fired towards the Najran region but was shot down, said a coalition statement published by the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Coalition forces responded by targeting the source of the fire inside Yemen, it added.

The coalition has been engaged in a bombing campaign against the Houthis and their allies since March last year, and the militias have targeted their air bases.

Iraq
Iraqi forces accused of mutilating ISIS dead
[ARA News] Qayyarah – Militiamen, Iraqi Security Forces, and civilians mutilated and dragged the bodies of at least five dead fighters of the Islamic State (also known as ISIS) in the Iraqi town of Qayyarah on October 3, 2016, Human Rights Watch (HRW) said on Tuesday.

Anti-ISIS forces also executed at least one ISIS fighter after he surrendered.

“The Iraqi government should control its own forces and hold them accountable if it hopes to claim the moral upper hand in its fight against ISIS,” said Lama Fakih, deputy Middle East director at Human Rights Watch.

“The failure to hold commanders and abusers to account does not bode well for the looming battle inside Mosul. Mutilation of corpses is a war crime, as is killing captured combatants or civilians,” she said.

According to HRW, the violations were carried out by both Iraqi troops and Hashad al–Asha’r militia fighters from the Maraeed tribe, local to Qayyarah and a branch of al-Jabouri tribe–one of the largest Sunni Arab tribes in Iraq.

A Video published online showed how Iraqi forces encircled an ISIS fighter and shot him dead. Another video showed a group of Iraqi children dragging a dead ISIS fighter by a rope around his ankle. They kick and beat his body with a branch, and a man in military attire with a special forces badge on one shoulder kicks the head of the corpse several times.

Furthermore, a resident of the al-Hud village beheaded the corpse of an ISIS fighter, cut out his heart, and presented the heart to his mother because the dead ISIS fighter was the one who killed the man’s father and three of his uncles.

Human Rights Watch examined photos also taken on October 3, in Qayyarah, of what appeared to be four more corpses, one with various organs outside his body and covered in blood, another stripped naked, with children kicking it. Another was strung up by his leg, at the entrance of the Qayyarah football field, which had been reduced to rubble by airstrikes.

“The Iraqi authorities should prevent armed groups with records of serious abuses from taking part in planned military operations in the city of Mosul,” Human Rights Watch said. “This includes Hashad al–Asha`ri militias and members of the [Shia majority] PMF [Popular Mobilization Units] responsible for serious rights abuses who have not been held to account.”

According to HRW, the Shia paramilitary groups such as the Badr Brigade, Hezbollah Brigade, and Imam Ali brigades operate in Qayyarah.

“The government should not stand idly by while fighters commit atrocities in its name,” Fakih said. “Political, security, and judicial officials should work together transparently to establish the truth about any abuses that take place in the course of this battle.”

Europe
Barack Obama warns of rise of 'crude nationalism'
[BBC] Barack Obama has warned of a "rise in a crude sort of nationalism" following the Brexit and US presidential votes. Mr Obama was speaking after talks with Greek PM Alexis Tsipras in the capital, Athens, as part of a final tour that also takes in Germany and Peru.

Speaking in Greece on his final foreign trip, he said: "We have to guard against... tribalism built around an 'us' or a 'them'." He said the US was painfully aware of the danger of divisions "along lines of race or religion or ethnicity". He also put the victory of Donald Trump down to "the view of the American people to just shake things up".

He said again that he had been surprised by Mr Trump's victory.

Mr Obama said part of the result was down to "natural desires for change if you've had an incumbent who's been there for eight years".

"At times of significant stress, people are going to be looking for something and they may opt for change even if they are not entirely confident what that change will bring." He added: "The lesson I draw is that we have to deal with issues like inequality, economic dislocation, people's fears that their children will not do as well as they have."

Mr Obama said the UK's vote to leave the EU and the US vote showed that people generally were now "less certain of their national identities and place in the world" and that had produced populist movements both on the left and the right.

He said a suspicion of globalisation and elites, wrapped up in issues of religious or ethnic or cultural identity was "a volatile mix".

He said: "Now we need to satisfy the people who are fearful, angry or concerned and that's going to be a pretty big test."

Mr Obama insisted his vision - where "the future will be decided by what we have in common, rather than what leads us into conflict" - was the right one. He also said he was responsible for facilitating a good transition, presenting to Mr Trump his best ideas about how to move the country forward.

Mr Obama will be using the European leg of his trip to try to reassure leaders about future US commitment to its international alliances.

NYU Brings Back ‘Deplorable Professor', Awards Him a Raise
Liberal studies professor Michael Rectenwald, the man behind the controversial @DeplorableNYUProf account, has been promoted by prestigious New York University and given a raise days after the University had put him on a paid leave for criticizing politically correct culture on campus.

Michael Rectenwald was promoted from clinical professor to full time professor on Monday, a source said to the NY Post.

In the initial interview with Heat Street on October 26, Rectenwald was outspoken against the current on-campus culture of social justice warriors and safe spaces. He likened academia to a mad house and claimed that "safe spaces" is an existential error.

Sorry, Garth - per the video, Budapest wasn't occupied by the Nazis and deportations started until 1944. At the time Soros was 14...an age when a hell of a lot of others were heading to the forests to join partisan groups fighting the Nazis.

yes it was a bad thing he did then but it doesn't merit being deported

He's a Nazi collaborator. Ann Coulter has said as much, repeatedly and publicly. The fact that he hasn't tried to sue her into oblivion means that he knows damn well he'd lose a slander case in front of a jury. And if being a Nazi collaborator doesn't rate having his ass kicked out of the country...how about being a convicted international financial criminal (French conviction for insider trading)? That being said...rather than deporting this treasonous pond scum, I'd rather see him tried for whatever crimes can be pinned on him - how about campaign finance violations, treason and inciting riots for starters - then stripped of his fortune and sent to a Federal Supermax for the rest of his unnatural life.

Barbara Boxer introducing bill to abolish Electoral College
This is where we point and laugh.
[ORIGIN-NYI.THEHILL] Sen. Barbara Call me Senator! Boxer
Senator-for-Life from Caliphornia...
(D-Calif.) will introduce legislation on Tuesday to get rid of the Electoral College, after Hillary Clinton
... former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, sometimes described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as a crook...
lost the presidential election despite leading in the popular vote.

"In my lifetime, I have seen two elections where the winner of the general election did not win the popular vote," Boxer said in a statement. "In 2012, Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
tweeted, 'The electoral college is a disaster for a democracy.' I couldn't agree more. One person, one vote!"

She added that Clinton, whom she supported, is "on track to have received more votes than any other presidential candidate in history except Barack Obama
They get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them...
."
"The Electoral College is an outdated, undemocratic system that does not reflect our modern society, and it needs to change immediately," she said.

Clinton is currently leading Trump by nearly a million votes, according to a Cook Political Report tracker of the national popular vote, but Trump won the Electoral College, leading the former secretary of State 290-232.

According to Pew, Clinton would be the fifth person to win the popular vote but lose the election, with the most recent being Al Gore
Former Vice President, Nobel Prize winner, and crazed sex poodle Al Gore
in 2000.

Boxer's legislation would amend the Constitution to abolish the Electoral College. Even if it is approved by Congress it would need to be approved by three-fourths of the states within seven years before it would take effect.

Trump called the Electoral College "genius" on Tuesday morning, despite past criticism.

#4  You think forty states are going to surrender the selection process to a dozen or two major metro areas? Forty states is enough to instead dissolve the union. #5  Maybe we should go back and examine the votes more carefully. Take out the felon votes, the illegal immigrant votes, the other rigged votes (dead votes, Disney characters, etc.) and perhaps Donald would have won the popular vote as well as have increased his margin in the electoral vote. You were right, the story was good for laughs.

#7  Well t begin with it would change the Federal nature of the United Sates thus changing the contact upon which it was founded so states would be entitled to secession.

Second is: This cannot done by law but by a revision of the Constitution requiring super-majorities in the Congrees and in the Staes and you have neither

Third is: Presidential elections by popular vote imply uniform rules and federal supervision. No longer having some districts in Massachusets where in some districts Obam got ovr one hundred and padded his poplar vote cnumbers, in some two hundred prsent of the vote in 2012 (ssen with my own eyes in the official web site of the State of Massachusetts, no more dead voters, no more aliens voting, no more people voting three or four times, no more people voting in other Sates (or in two or theree states), no more voting without and ID (and if you are so concerned about the poor make the ID zero cost). And my little finger tells am that the day elections in America are run according to European standards for supervision the Democratic candidates are going to be ten million votes behind the Republican one for a century or so.

Fourth is: The campaign was run according to certain rules and both candidates ran it according to those rule not according to popular vote. Some voters ateyed home because their candidate has not a one in a thousand chance to win, etc. So who would have won if elections had been decided by popular vote is a ta best a toss-up.

Five; If all the election fraud you and your fellow Democrats were investigated you would become senator for Leavenworth instead of for California

Six:! From what I have heard at the very end Trump also won the popular vote.

Bangladesh
7 JMB men indicted in Hoshi Kunio murder case
[Dhaka Tribune] A Rangpur court on Tuesday framed charges against seven members of a separated faction of the banned myrmidon outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) over the Oct 3, 2015 murder of the Japanese farmer

Judge Naresh Chandra Sarker of the Rangpur Special Judge’s Court also fixed January 4 next year for recording testimony of witnesses in the case after holding a hearing in presence of five of the seven men indicted.

Special Public Prosecutor Rathish Chandra Bhoumik told the Dhaka Tribune that a total of eight Death Eaters of New JMB were involved in the killing of Kunio on October 3 last year.

They were named as: regional commander Masud Rana, military commander Eshak Ali; Liton Mia; Abu Sayeed; Nazrul Islam alias Bike Hassan; Saddam Hossain alias Rahul alias Sabuj alias Chhobi; Begum Rokeya University student Ahsan Ullah Ansari Biplob; and Shakhawat alias Shafique.

Among the eight accused, Bike Hassan was killed in a ’shootout’ with the police on August 2, while Saddam, the alleged criminal mastermind of the killing mission, and Ansari were absconding, said Rathish.

Middle East-based terrorist group Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
grabbed credit for the murder, hours after gunnies rubbed out 65-year-old Kunio in broad daylight near his house in Kachu Alutari area at Kaunia of Rangpur.

Hoshi first visited Bangladesh in 2011 for a week. He visited again for a week in 2013 before finally settling in the country to run a grass farm.

Since foreign citizens cannot remain in Bangladesh for more than three months at a stretch without a work permit, he left and re-entered the country to renew his visa status, visiting China and, most recently, India, according to a police source.

Investigators initially accused some members of BNP and its front organizations for his murder.

On July 2, however, Sherlocks asked the court to drop the BNP men’s names after arrestee Masud Rana confessed that he himself had shot Kunio, who was on a rickshaw at the time.

Another accused, Eshak, also gave a confessional statement.

Even though the investigation officer identified the accused as JMB members, officials of DMP’s counter-terrorism unit claimed that they were members of a new faction of JMB having links to the Islamic State group.

1 dead in bomb attack in southeast Baghdad

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – One civilian was killed and seven other were wounded when an IED blast rocked a district in southeast Baghdad.

Iraq Sky Press website quoted a security source as saying that the IED went off near a popular market in Wardiya neighborhood.

The United Nations in Iraq said last week that 58000 people died in violence since Islamic State militants took over large areas of Iraq in 2014. Some observers believe that the extremist group, sustaining serious defeats in its last stronghold in Mosul over the past few weeks, is trying to shift security focus to Baghdad with attacks.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Secret Service: Hillary Was VERY Un-Presidential on Election Night
[Breitbart] The mystery of Hillary Clinton, milk-carton missing on election night, appears solved.

A Tuesday of catharsis for Donald Trump voters turned into an evening of rage for Hillary Clinton. The Democratic presidential nominee, anticipating the postelection reaction of many of her supporters, began shouting profanities, banging tables, and turning objects not nailed down into projectiles.

"Sources have told The American Spectator that on Tuesday night, after Hillary realized she had lost, she went into a rage," R. Emmett Tyrrell reports. "Secret Service officers told at least one source that she began yelling, screaming obscenities, and pounding furniture. She picked up objects and threw them at attendants and staff. She was in an uncontrollable rage."

The appearance of campaign manager John Podesta at Manhattan's Javitz Center, and the dematerialization of his heretofore ubiquitous charge, perplexed in the first hours of Wednesday.

"They're still counting votes, and every vote should count," Podesta declared to a sad and stunned hall. "Several states are too close to call, so we're not going to have anything more to say tonight."

As Podesta recalcitrantly refused to recognize reality early Wednesday morning, Hillary Clinton called Donald Trump to offer congratulations. The juxtaposition of the campaign manager publicly vowing to fight around the time the candidate privately conceded the election left observers scratching their heads.

I have NO DOUBT with info coming out that 3 million illegals voted and numerous reports of votes being changed by machines that these people were EXTREMELY upset that they did not get the win after all of that. Apparently they just KNEW the fix was in and raged when all of their fixes failed.

#9  Good question. Partial answer -

With a reported one third of the currency in circulation being counterfeit at the time,[11] the Secret Service was created on July 5, 1865 in Washington, D.C., to suppress counterfeit currency. It was commissioned in Washington, D.C. as the "Secret Service Division" of the Department of the Treasury with the mission of suppressing counterfeiting. The legislation creating the agency was on Abraham Lincoln's desk the night he was assassinated.

Talk about irony.

3 wimmin die in Herat small arms attack
At least three women were killed by a number of unknown gunmen in Herat city on Tuesday night, local officials said.

Herat governor's spokesman Jailani Farhad confirmed the incident and said it occurred in Karte Darb-e-Kandahar area in the city when a number of unknown gunmen entered a house and shot dead two brides and a woman.

He added that the victims were residents of Farah province and that the incident was due to personal problems.

The attackers left the area following the incident, he said.

Iraq
ISIS using drones to deliver explosives
Diabolical
ARBID, Iraq: The Daesh group drone hovered in the sky over the advancing Iraqi forces before dropping a grenade, the jihadists’ latest move to weaponize small off-the-shelf aircraft.

Down below, the grenade exploded on the roof of a building where Iraqi police forces were sheltering as they advanced some 10 kilometers (six miles) south of Mosul, the last Daesh-held Iraqi city.

No one was injured, according to an Iraqi officer, but the incident nonetheless represents another escalation in the war of commercially available drones that is playing out as Iraqi forces battle the jihadists.
Masters of invention, Daesh militants jihadists have booby trapped household appliances and turned cars into armored suicide bombs as they try to stymy the Iraqi forces.

Now they seem to have found another way to try to slow the progress: weaponizing the $1,000 drones that they normally use to spy on their foes.
“We have recorded three incidents,” police Lt. Col. Hussein Moayyad told AFP.

The militants appear to have used an add-on — similar to those intended to help fisherman drop their hooks farther out at sea — to release the drone’s payload, Moayyad said.

They rig the grenade so the pin is pulled free when the explosive device is dropped, arming it.

While this attack was relatively primitive and — for now — pretty ineffective, Daesh drones have already proved more deadly in other ways.
Last month a hobby plane rigged with explosives killed two Iraqi Kurdish peshmerga fighters and injured two French soldiers.

According to a US defense official, the incident unfolded on October 2 when a small plane with a styrofoam body was either shot down or crashed in Irbil in northern Iraq.

Two Iraqi Kurdish peshmerga fighters grabbed it and took it back to their camp to inspect and photograph it, when it blew up.

Daesh is flying drones to spy on Iraqi forces — so Iraqi forces are sending up their own devices to spot the enemy as well.

Moayyad watched a screen inside a specially converted armored bank van he has turned into a mobile drone control center.

“Now I am entering the dangerous zone, this is where Daesh is,” he said, as he manoeuvered the drone’s remote control to focus on jihadist positions some five kilometers (three miles) away.

Like the Daesh operation, the Iraq police have also cobbled their drone program together with shop-bought equipment and ingenuity.

Moayyad — who has a masters degree in computing — modified drones bought in Dubai and Turkey to give them greater range, longer battery life and the ability to film at night.

When he spots enemy movement, he coordinates with the Iraqi artillery, air force or sometimes the US-led coalition bombarding IS from the sky.
In eastern Mosul, Iraqi special forces soldiers are using drones for the same purpose.

“There were three car bombs coming out from Al-Bakr toward our positions that we spotted with our drone and hit with our tanks,” Staff Lt. Col. Muntadhar Salem recently told AFP, referring to an area in the city.
In total, Moayyad said, the Iraqi police force drones — superior to the ones IS use — end up costing somewhere around $26,000.

But despite having superiority over the jihadists, he said the Iraqi forces could do with equipment that can let you take control of unknown drones, especially now that Daesh is arming them.

“Maybe they could get bigger drones,” Moayyad said.

“And if they manage to use chemical weapons on them, then this is more scary, of course.”

Britain
Prepare to Board!
Just another, sad, reminder that Britannia no longer rules the waves.

The Royal Navy--which set the sea power standard for centuries--has announced plans that will further reduce its combat power and leave its ships vulnerable in potential engagements with Russian, Chinese and even Iranian vessels.

From the UK Telegraph:

Royal Navy warships will be left without anti-ship missiles and be forced to rely on naval guns because of cost-cutting, the Ministry of Defence has admitted.

The Navy’s Harpoon missiles will retire from the fleet’s frigates and destroyers in 2018 without a replacement, while there will also be a two year gap without helicopter-launched anti-shipping missiles.

Harpoon missiles are unlikely to be replaced for up to a decade, naval sources said, leaving warships armed only with their 4.5in Mk 8 guns for anti-ship warfare. Helicopter-launched Sea Skua missiles are also going out of service next year and the replacement Sea Venom missile to be carried by Wildcat helicopters will not arrive until late 2020.
...
In the interim, the RN may have to dust off employment manuals from the eras of Lord Nelson and Admiral Jellicoe. As we noted on Twitter (@NateHale) a short time ago, Royal Navy surface engagement tactics from 2018 on may look something like this:

1. Form battle line.

2. Engage with main guns

3. Lure enemy into CIWS range

4. Distribute cutlasses, small arms and prepare to board!

And the USN doesn't have much room to brag. As our favorite naval blogger, Cdr Salamander, recently observed, the number of our own surface vessels that can no longer fire a Harpoon is both surprising and alarming.

Police make raids against suspected 'IS' supporters across 10 states in Germany
[DeutscheWelle] Authorities have carried out more than 200 searches against suspected radical fundamentalists. German media reported that the targets were part of the well-known "True Religion" Salafist group.

A string of raids were carried out across Germany early on Tuesday morning against suspected "Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
" (IS) sympathizers. According to news agency dpa, the raids took place in more than 200 homes and offices across 10 federal states.

Authorities carried out searches targeting individuals belonging to the "True Religion" Salafist group ("Die wahre Religion"), who have stirred up controversy for passing out a particularly fundamentalist translation of the Koran.

The Interior Ministry confirmed the actions in a tweet, and announced a ban of the organization:

Some 65 raids were carried out in the state of Hesse, 15 of them in the city of Frankfurt alone. Every one of the searches took place in Berlin or the former West.

Salafism promotes a very strict interpretation of Islamic scripture and the use of Sharia law to impose order. The "True Religion" Salafists
...Salafists are ostentatiously devout Moslems who figure the ostentation of their piety gives them the right to tell others how to do it and to kill those who don't listen to them...
targeted in Tuesday’s raid have become infamous in Germany in recent years for disseminating copies of the Koran emblazoned with the slogan "Read It!" before they were banned from doing so in pedestrian zones by Interior Minister Thomas de Maizière.

De Maizière elaborated on the cause of the raids in a presser later in the day. He said that this particular translation of the Koran was used to "spread messages of hate and anti-constitutional ideologies," adding that "more than 140 young people have traveled to Syria and Iraq to join terrorist groups after participating in the 'Read It!' campaign."

A Twitter account appearing to represent the group claimed that "the Koran has been banned in Germany," going on to say "we have delivered Allah's message."

"Those who indoctrinate young people and radicalize them with pseudoreligious ideologies are using religious freedom as a smoke screen," said Ralf Jäger, the state of North Rhine-Westphalia's top security official, after the raids. The "True Religion" group's Paleostinian-born leader Abou-Nagie was not in Germany when Tuesday's raids took place. Police searched his last-known location in the western city of Bonn.

Abou-Nagie is believed to be in Malaysia, security sources told dpa, where the group is reportedly planning on launching a similar Koran-distribution initiative. The "True Religion" group already operates in 15 countries including Austria, La Belle France, Bahrain and Brazil, the sources said.

The raids came just one week after German authorities began a renewed crackdown on the country’s top Salafist ideologues, including 32-year old hate preacher Abu Walaa. Walaa, an Iraqi who has been in Germany since 2000, is suspected of supporting IS interests in Germany.

'True religion:' How Salafists lure supporters

[DeutscheWelle] German authorities have stepped up pressure on the "True Religion" Salafist group. Abou Nagie, a Cologne
...a lovely city in Germany. They invented perfume there...
-based, Paleostinian-born Salafist preacher, activist and businessman, is one of the group's leading figures.

"Islam is presented as though it is all about violence, hate, forced marriage and terror" - that's how a video on the internet site of the "True Religion" group starts off. Now banned by the German Interior Ministry, the organization was founded by Ibrahim Abou Nagie, a German Moslem with a Paleostinian background.

He is one Germany's most prominent Salafists. His declared aim: to improve the public image of Moslems and Islam.

In an interview with DW three years ago, the preacher from Cologne clarified that he wants to present the "true Islam". He described himself simply as Moslem. Salafist, he argued, is a term used by the media and politicians to divide Moslems - adding that the term has been whispered into the ears of government by "Zionist advisors."

"Only Moslems"
"Salafist, Islamist - we are only Moslems," explain the friendly young men and at least one woman in the video on the "True Religion's" website, which was still accessible even after the movement was banned.

The opening of the video comes across like a commercial, with its projection of a special atmosphere, and oriental-sounding music. It is as if they are trying to sell something. And indeed, after a few seconds, there is a cut to a pedestrian street in a large German city, where Abou Nagie sits behind a counter stacked with copies of the Koran he wants not to sell, but give away - namely to infidels.

When the campaign with the commanding name of "Read!" began in 2012, the idea was to give away copies of the Koran so people could form their own opinion about Islam. At the time, the organizers explained that their goal was to distribute a total of 25 million copies. Or as Abou Nagie put it: a Koran for every German household.

The campaign to distribute the Koran spread to 15 other countries, amongst them, La Belle France, Great Britannia, Sweden, Austria, Bahrain and, since June 2016, also Brazil.

Abou Nagie, 52, came to Germany when he was 18 to study electrical engineering. But instead of completing his studies, he started a business selling self-adhesive film. Nine years ago he was forced to declare bankruptcy - retroactive tax demands of 70,000 euros ($US 75,500) ruined him financially.

From then on, he dedicated his life the Salafist scene and to converting non-Moslems.

This scene included well-known Salafists such as the recently jugged
... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not...
Abu Walaa as well as Sven Lau, currently on trial for allegedly supporting the terrorist militia "Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
" (IS). Abou Nagie taught Islam at various mosques, gave advice to converts on YouTube and made public appearances with Salafist preacher Pierre Vogel. The Cologne businessman preached an extremely repressive interpretation of the Koran.

Nationwide campaign
According to intelligence authorities, Abou Nagie is not only thoroughly Salafist, he is also one of the most influential Salafists in Germany.

By definition, this means he belongs to one of the most conservative branches of the religion, a branch that looks to the bygone days of early Islam, the times of the Prophet Mohammed. The Salafist movement rejects later judicial decisions and interpretations. Intelligence authorities estimate there were 3,800 Salafists in Germany in 2011 - and 7,500 supporters just four years later. Only a minority support violence, but experts say there is often a smooth transition from being politically active to become a jihadist, and adopting violence-prone Salafism.

Abou Nagie teaches "the full spectrum of Salafist ideology" in his regular lectures and seminars, domestic intelligence authorities in the state of North-Rhine Westphalia noted in 2011. An intelligence report described Abou Nagie as not only offering religious instruction, but also discussing and supporting martyrdom and jihad, including using violence to defend Islamic belief.

Simple approach
A series of criminal charges followed: he was charged with inciting punishable acts, including murder. In June 2012, then Interior Minister Hans-Peter Friedrich initiated legal proceedings to have the "True Religion" group banned. Yet all attempts to attribute crimes to Abou Nagie or his organization remained unsuccessful. His tirades against the immoral life in the West and homosexuality, and for Sharia law, may have violated accepted ethical standards in Germany - but they did not break criminal laws.

Many people see distributing the Koran as too zealous, the "True Religion" front man's rhetoric seems too radical to pass it off as a harmless initiative.

The Interior Ministry came to the same conclusion in its 2015 annual report, saying that people participated in the campaign with the purpose of "disseminating radical Islam and recruiting jihadists." There is increasing evidence that people took part in the campaign to distribute the Koran so that they could later take part in the struggles in Syria, the ministry said. Several of the group's members were arrested before the current crackdown and ban of the organization.

But for Abou Nagie.
Earlier this year, the Cologne district court convicted him of professional social security fraud, saying he had pocketed the benefits but had declined to declared an income of 50,000 euros from his "Read!" campaign. He was handed a 13-month suspended sentence, but not forbidden to distribute the Koran on the streets in Germany.

Abu Nagie was also not arrested during the crackdowns on Tuesday morning. Investigators believe he may be in Malaysia - supposedly the next country to be added to the list of nations where Salafists hand out the Koran for free.

Former NYT reporter admits they worked with Democrats to set narrative
Via Instapundit, this revelation from former NYT reporter Michael Ciely at Dateline Hollywood is 100% pure uncut validation.

First he recounts the NYT's recent our-prognostications-were-wrong pieces...

...and by the way, on that: It's a cop-out for people to "confess" their mere prognostications were wrong. That's like being found over a smothered elderly relative with a pillow in your hands and confessing "I might have removed the Do Not Remove Under Penalty of Law tags on this murder-weapon."

The sin of the media was running a dishonest partisan operation for two years. Merely saying "We missed a Black Swan event that almost everyone else missed" is letting themselves plead down to a class 4 misdemeanor.

Anyway, Ciely mentions these minimal mea culpas and then writes:

For starters, it's important to accept that the New York Times has always -- or at least for many decades -- been a far more editor-driven, and self-conscious, publication than many of those with which it competes. Historically, the Los Angeles Times, where I worked twice, for instance, was a reporter-driven, bottom-up newspaper. Most editors wanted to know, every day, before the first morning meeting: "What are you hearing? What have you got?"

It was a shock on arriving at the New York Times in 2004, as the paper's movie editor, to realize that its editorial dynamic was essentially the reverse. By and large, talented reporters scrambled to match stories with what internally was often called "the narrative." We were occasionally asked to map a narrative for our various beats a year in advance, square the plan with editors, then generate stories that fit the pre-designated line.

Reality usually had a way of intervening. But I knew one senior reporter who would play solitaire on his computer in the mornings, waiting for his editors to come through with marching orders. Once, in the Los Angeles bureau, I listened to a visiting National staff reporter tell a contact, more or less: "My editor needs someone to say such-and-such, could you say that?"

The bigger shock came on being told, at least twice, by Times editors who were describing the paper's daily Page One meeting: "We set the agenda for the country in that room."

Eat not just this bag of dicks, media, but all the bags of dicks.

You pompous incompetent half-wits.

By the way, Ciely goes on to say that the chief preoccupation of New York Times editors and reporters was not the world outside, but the internal jockeying for status within the New York Times itself.
Ace pretty much sums it up. We have been so lied to and the propaganda has been so pumped into American life.

Eat a whole bag of dicks, then vomit yourselves to death MSM. All of you.

Iraq
Iraq: Third of eastern Mosul ‘liberated’
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Iraqi forces have dislodged ISIS from one third of the eastern side of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
, an interior ministry front man said on Tuesday, four weeks into the US-backed campaign to take back the city.

The Tigris river divides Mosul into eastern and western sides. The built-up area in the eastern side is slightly bigger than the western side where the old city is located.

"More than a third of this (eastern) side has been liberated," the front man, Brigadier-General Saad Maan, told a news conference at the Qayyara military base, the main hub for the forces trying to end ISIS’s two-year rule of Mosul.

So far, 955 forces of Evil have been killed and 108 captured on the southern frontlines of the city alone, Maan said. He did not give a toll for the campaign overall either for security forces, civilians or ISIS fighters.

With air and ground support from a US-led coalition, Iraqi government forces are trying to consolidate gains made in the east of the city, which they entered at the end of October.

They are yet to enter the northern or southern neighborhoods of Mosul, where more than 1 million people are thought to be living.

More than 54,000 people have been displaced because of the fighting from villages and towns around the city to government-held areas, according to UN estimates.

The figure does not include the tens of thousands of people rounded up in villages around Mosul and forced to accompany ISIS fighters to cover their retreat towards the city.

Hundreds of Iraqi civilians lined up on Tuesday for food in eastern neighborhoods of Mosul recently retaken from ISIS, as rations ran low, an Iraqi officer said.

Maj. Salam al-Obeidi says some 700 residents gathered in three areas of the Zahra and Qadisiya neighborhoods, the latter of which was the scene of a fierce IS counterattack a day earlier.

"This is a problem for us because the food we have is not enough for them and we’re waiting for more food to be sent from the government," al-Obeidi said. "Now the Iraqi soldier is giving his food to the civilians."

Iraq launched a major offensive last month to drive ISIS out of the northern city, the country’s second largest, which is still home to more than 1 million civilians.

Special forces have captured a foothold in the city’s east, and have been advancing slowly over the past week to avoid casualties and civilian deaths as ISIS fighters emerge to attack from the dense, urban landscape, often with armor-plated suicide boom-mobiles.

The gunnies struck back against special forces in Qadisiya a day earlier, Maj. Gen. Sami al-Aridi said. Two dozen men wearing boom jackets charged the front lines, setting off a three-hour battle that killed 20 gunnies and severely maimed a special forces soldier.

The Iraqi armed forces do not release official casualty figures, but field medics have noted dozens of killed and maimed since the operation to liberate the city began on Oct. 17.

At a news conference outside Mosul, Col. John Dorrian, a front man for the US-led forces supporting the operation, said Arclight airstrikes had so far destroyed 59 suicide boom-mobiles and over 80 tunnels.

"We will continue to strike the enemy for as long as it takes for the Iraqi flag to be raised over Mosul and every other corner of this country," he said, adding that the coalition had conducted over 4,000 strikes with air power and artillery since the campaign began.

The United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
meanwhile said smoke from oil wells and a chemical plant torched by ISIS near Mosul has forced over 1,500 people to seek medical treatment for respiratory problems.

...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
.

The conference, which kicked off Sunday night at Washington’s pricey Mandarin Oriental hotel, is sponsored by the influential Democracy Alliance donor club, and will include appearances by leaders of most leading unions and liberal groups, as well as darlings of the left such as House Democratic leader Nancy San Fran Nan Pelosi
Congresswoman-for-Life from the San Francisco Bay Area, born into a family of professional politicians. Formerly Speaker of the House, but it's not her fault they lost. Really. Noted for her heavily botoxed grimace...
, Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Congressional Progressive Caucus co-chairman Keith Ellison, according to an agenda and other documents obtained by POLITICO.

The meeting is the first major gathering of the institutional left since Trump’s shocking victory over Hillary Clinton in last week’s presidential election, and, if the agenda is any indication, liberals plan full-on trench warfare against Trump from Day One. Some sessions deal with gearing up for 2017 and 2018 elections, while others focus on thwarting President-elect Trump’s 100-day plan, which the agenda calls "a terrifying assault on President B.O.’s achievements -- and our progressive vision for an equitable and just nation."

Yet the meeting also comes as many liberals are reassessing their approach to politics -- and the role of the Democracy Alliance, or DA, as the club is known in Democratic finance circles. The DA, its donors and beneficiary groups over the last decade have had a major hand in shaping the institutions of the left, including by orienting some of its key organizations around Clinton, and by basing their strategy around the idea that minorities and women constituted a so-called "rising American electorate" that could tip elections to Democrats.

10 year sentence for ISIS recruit
[Ynet] A federal judge has sentenced a Minnesota man who was part of a conspiracy to join ISIS in Syria to 10 years in prison.

Zacharia Abdurahman drew the harshest sentence of the three defendants who appeared before US District Judge Michael Davis in Minneapolis on Monday. While Abdurahman pleaded guilty, he did not cooperate with the government against the other members of what Davis called a "terrorist cell."

Asked why he chose not to cooperate, Abdurahman said he wasn't willing to testify against his former friends. He said he's a man of principal.

Prosecutors had sought a 15-year sentence. Davis told the defendant he was giving him less partly because his parents have become active in the campaign against terrorist recruiting in Minnesota's large Somali community.

India-Pakistan
Cross-LoC aggression
[DAWN] THE death of seven Pak soldiers, announced by the military’s media wing on Monday, as a result of cross-LoC Indian shelling is tragic and deserving of the strongest condemnation. The incident once again underscores the dangerously frayed state of Pakistain-India relations in the aftermath of September’s Uri attack. Disturbingly, there are no signs that the belligerence will end soon. Ever since hard boyz attacked a military facility in the India-held Kashmire town, there has been regular exchange of fire across the LoC and the Working Boundary, with numerous military and civilian casualties. The latest tragedy is said to be the deadliest incident of firing involving military casualties in a single day in a decade. In addition, some 26 civilians have been killed due to Indian shelling on the Pak side since the Uri attack.

The reaction from the state to this provocation has been swift though expected, with the prime minister reiterating his resolve to defend the country. The Indian high commissioner was also summoned to the Foreign Office and told that further belligerence could lead to a "strategic miscalculation". While open talk of war has died down to a large extent post-Uri, the constant LoC and Working Boundary violence has the potential of escalating into a more dangerous confrontation. There may be little appetite for war in the two establishments -- if one ignores the shrill cries of the super hawks and armchair warriors in the media. But, unless the guns fall silent, further loss of civilian or military life caused by such aggression could see temperatures rise further, exacerbating the current diplomatic stand-off -- over the past few weeks, both India and Pakistain have expelled each other’s diplomats for indulging in "undesirable activities". If not checked, this exchange of vitriol on the diplomatic front, coupled with the exchange of firepower across the LoC and Working Boundary, could also result in similar aggression along the international border.

As we have stated previously, the only way to improve relations and end the hostility is for Islamabad and New Delhi to talk to each other. Unfortunately, India does not appear to want to sort out differences with Pakistain. Whether it is India’s concerns about the alleged use of Pak soil by non-state actors to launch bully boy activities inside its borders, or Pakistain’s belief that New Delhi is fomenting trouble in Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
, all issues need to be discussed frankly. Over the last seven decades, both states have failed to resolve their outstanding issues on the battlefield; this indicates that the only path to peace is via the negotiating table. Meanwhile,
...back at the comedy club, Boogie sadly admitted that he was a better peeping Tom than he was a comedian...
the international community, specifically the UN, needs to play a more visible role in ensuring that there is no more violence along the frontiers and that both states resume the dialogue process as soon as possible.

Iraq
Iraq’s children of caliphate face stateless future
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Ali and Sara, born in ISIS’s self-styled caliphate in northern Iraq, escaped to a camp for displaced people only to confront a new challenge -- with no identity documents, they risk joining a generation of stateless children.

After seizing large parts of Iraq and neighboring Syria in 2014, ISIS imposed its strict interpretation of Islamic law and began to establish the basic frameworks of statehood such as taxes and regulation.

But that project is collapsing in the face of a military campaign in Iraq to crush the myrmidons, with unexpected consequences for ordinary people escaping their grip.

Births in ISIS-controlled areas were registered with authorities that are not considered valid outside that shrinking territory - or not registered at all.

That is adding hundreds and perhaps thousands of children under the age of 2-1/2 to the growing numbers of children across the Middle East who are stateless ‐ lacking legal recognition as a citizen of any country.

Stateless children risk missing out on basic rights such as education and healthcare, are likely to face difficulties in adulthood getting a job, and are exposed to abuse and trafficking, according to the United Nations
...the Oyster Bay money pit...
The five-year-old civil war in neighboring Syria, which has uprooted 10 million people, threatens an even greater number of children born in areas outside Syrian government control or in refugee camps beyond its borders.

Sara was born just as the ultra-hardline Islamists stormed across Iraq in 2014. Her little brother Ali was born two years later, days before his family fled to Debaga camp from their village south of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
, ISIS’s last major stronghold which Iraqi forces are now battling to retake.

The children’s father, Mohammed, says he did not register either birth with ISIS.

"If you brought them a child, they would issue a birth certificate themselves in the name of their state," he said, spurning that proposition.

Some parents did register their newborns with ISIS, which issued proprietary birth certificates bearing the group’s black-and-white logo declaring "There is no god but God."

Furaq, a 22-year-old from the Mosul area, showed Rooters a lightweight pink document issued by the group when his eight-month-old son Yasser was born. It closely resembles its Iraqi equivalent.

Mahdi Waili, head of the government directorate which deals with nationality, said parents whose children do not have birth certificates would be able to go to the health ministry offices to arrange for their births to be registered.

However,
Caliphornia hasn't yet slid into the ocean, no matter how hard it's tried...
months after some areas in northern Iraq were retaken from ISIS, local government services have yet to be reinstated.

Arabia
Is it time to understand Donald Trump better?
Yes. What an idiotic question.
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
won the election and became, by the power of law and the constitution, the president-elect, contrary to the expectation and anticipations of many in and out of the US.

Throughout his two terms in the White House, regional leaders and political analysts were frustrated by Obama’s Middle East policies, which created mayhem, constant chaos and conflicts in Syria, Iraq, Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
and Libya. They perceived him as an isolationist and feeble president, manipulated by the Iranian and Moslem brotherhood lobbies and surrounded by amateurs, incompetent and sympathizers of the Arab Springs that spread across the region in early 2011.

This repetitive monotonous criticism was recycled by media outlets during the course of Obama’s presidency, resulting in a widening the gap between various Arab capitals and Washington, as well as generating an atmosphere of apprehension ‐ a juncture some faceless myrmidons have attempted to capitalize on by pushing Gulf States into confrontation with the US.

Now the Americans have chosen their next president, so what is our next step? Will we carry on moaning and groaning about the "racist" president who pledged to ban Moslems from entering Uncle Sam territories? Or will we adopt a more radical approach, while trying to explore other alternatives that are neither sensible nor practical?

US-Gulf ties
The relationship with the United States is a strategic matter for Gulf countries, due to its superpower status as the unchallenged great power in areas such as economy and technology etc. This is the same reality that pressed Iran, a country that chanted the slogan of the "Death to America" for decades, to reverse its course, in order to achieve deals with the US.

For us to start right, we have to distinguish between Donald Trump the "presidential candidate", and Trump the president. The first character is obliged to appease the voters, while there are domestic and international obligations and commitments that need to be achieved to gain popularity and power, lie ahead for the second.

Trump’s approach, his policy and the cabinet he picks will define and outline the relationships and alliance. Policies are established on building strong partnerships that safeguard the interests of all parties. Hence, we are obliged to be open realistically and effectively toward the new leadership in the White House through active diplomacy that knows how to build relationships with a vision to achieve its goals.

Mosul Offensive News
30 ISIS Turbans die near al-Abbas

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad, Nineveh – Thirty Islamic State militants were killed on Monday as Iraqi security forces advanced closer to the Mosul International Airport and liberated a village on its way to the centre of the city.

Hossam Eddin al-Abbar, a member of the municipal council of Nineveh, said in statements that 30 ISIS fighters, including senior leaders, were killed as forces liberated the village of al-Abbas (40 kilometers west of Mosul). The militants carried “Japanese and Chinese nationalities,” and were besieged by the forces before they were killed, said al-Abbar.

“The liberation of Nimrud has speeded up the liberation of other areas of Nineveh,” Abbar said, referring to the ancient city which the Iraqi forces recaptured on Sunday.

Abbar added that federal police forces and the army’s 15th division have become 3 kilometers away from the Mosul airport at the center of the city, having liberated the village of Bo Youssef.

The Iraqi joint forces’ ninth division also managed to clear the village of Moshairiqa from ISIS and raised the Iraqi flags above its buildings, state TV reported on Monday, quoting Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Yarallah, commander of “We Are Coming, Nineveh” operations.

Iraqi government forces, assisted by a US air cover and popular militias, have been in a successful campaign since mid October seeking to liberate Mosul, ISIS’s last foothold in Iraq.

Iraqi forces, assisted by US aircrafts, popular militias and Kurdish troops, have been in continuous battles since October to liberate Mosul, ISIS’s last stronghold in Iraq.

Last week, the US coalition partaking in the fight against ISIS said 1363 militants from the group died since operations were launched in October to retake Mosul.

Reid: Trump must ‘take responsibility,’ fire Bannon
[THEHILL] Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid
... the charismatic senator-for-life from Nevada, currently majority leader ...
(D-Nev.) on Tuesday tore into Stephen Bannon, demanding President-elect Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
ditch Bannon as his chief strategist.

"If Trump is serious about seeking unity, the first thing he should do is rescind his appointment of Steve Bannon," Reid said from the Senate floor.

"I say to Donald Trump: Take responsibility, rise to the dignity of the office. ... Stop hiding behind your Twitter account."

Reid recounted stories of Americans being harassed and targeted since last week’s presidential election, including his doctor in Nevada being told to go back to Pakistain.

Alan Dershowitz Defends Steve Bannon: ‘Not Legitimate To Call Somebody An Anti-Semite Because You Disagree With Their Policies’

[BREITBART] Alan Dershowitz, a staunch Democrat and emeritus law professor at Harvard University, is hitting back against the smears claiming White House appointee Steve Bannon is anti-Semitic, arguing it is "not legitimate to call somebody an anti-Semite because you might disagree with their policies."

Speaking in a telephone interview with this news hound, Dershowitz stated:

I think we have to be very careful before we accuse any particular individual of being an anti-Semite. The evidence certainly suggests that Mr. Bannon has very good relationships with individual Jews. My former researcher, Joel Pollak, is an Orthodox Jew who takes off the Jewish holidays, who is a committed Jew and a committed Zionist, and he has worked closely with him. He has been supportive of Israel.

So, I haven’t seen any evidence of personal anti-Semitism on the part of Bannon. I think the (Breitbart) headline about a Conservative Republican being a renegade Jew was ill-advised. But it doesn’t suggest to me anti-Semitism. It suggests to me a degree of carelessness.

Why the Big Lie About Steve Bannon?
In which Spengler holds nothing back, especially with regard to certain of his fellow scribes.
All the existential rage of the defeated and humiliated elites is now focused against Steve Bannon -- the architect of Trump's victory, the media genius who won the battle with less than a fifth of the financial resources at Hillary Clinton's disposal.

I know Steve Bannon, and have had several long discussions with him about politics. Steve is fervently pro-Israel, and it is utterly ridiculous to suggest that he is anti-Semitic.

Other observant Jews who know Bannon -- for example, Joel Pollak -- attest to his support for Israel and his friendship for the Jewish people.

We have learned from the sewage-storm directed at Bannon that the Establishment plays dirty, and that the formerly Republican #NeverTrumpers aren't just misguided ideologues, but also yellow-bellied, gutter-crawling, backstabbing, bushwhacking liars. Hell hath no fury like a self-designated elite scorned.

They hate Steve Bannon because he beat them, fair and square, on the battlefield of social media. He is the president-elect's most effective general. Trump's enemies can't reverse the results of a national election, but they can try to cut the incoming president off from his popular base.

The charges against Steve Bannon are a tissue of lies without a modicum of merit.

GREECE IN FLAMES: Commies riots in Athens over Obama's visit

Youths riding cycle of violences, carrying wooden clubs and launching petrol bombs tried to break a police cordon and confront Mr Obama directly.

Hooded left wing protestors erupted into the streets shouting "Yankees go home" and "we don't need protectors" ‐ a reference to Mr Obama's announcement that he thought Greece should be allowed off the hook when it comes to its spiralling national debt.

most of them are still active on Craigslist, fueling questions about whether the group is now among those feeding the post-election anti-Trump protests across the country.

Many of the ads have Planned Parenthood Action, a PAC, emblazoned across the top and all of them list phone numbers belonging to the Community Outreach Group, a for-profit organization formed by Planned Parenthood as "a vendor of large-scale advocacy." Protesting is among the tasks listed on its website.

MoveOn.org

and others already have been linked to the demonstrations. Protesters have been out on the streets since Wednesday and have been mostly peaceful. However,

in some instances ‐ like in the city of Portland ‐ police used flash bombs last week to quell an angry mob that lit fires and smashed cars and store windows with bats. One protester was shot by a civilian.

Planned Parenthood and Community Outreach Group have not returned phone calls seeking comment. Planned Parenthood, which received $553.7 million in tax dollars last year, had pledged to spend $30 million to defeat Trump, according to Rolling Stone. The money allegedly came from its super PAC, which "jointly" worked on the ground war, the magazine said.

How Barack Obama wrecked the Democratic Party
[COMMENTARYMAGAZINE] The Democratic Party cathedral stands, to be sure, as structures will after a neutron-kaboom. But it has been denuded of its priestly caste--the elected officials who were teeming within it when Barack Obama
That’s just how white folks will do you....
was first elected in 2008 and had every reason to believe they would move inexorably from the back rows of American politics to the front. There are some 8,000 elected officials in the United States at the state and federal levels. Between 2009, when Barack Obama took office, and today, as he prepares to retire from it, more than 1,100 Democratic elected officials lost their jobs to Republicans. That number is unprecedented.

Barack Obama entered the White House with his party in control of 62 of the nation’s 99 legislative chambers. By January 2015, Republicans were in control of 68. He then made it a personal mission to help reverse the damage that had caused the ejection of nearly a thousand Democratic state politicians from their seats by voters. He made 150 down-ballot endorsements in 2016 and even hit the trail for a few of them at a time when his personal approval rating was above 50 percent.

The result of the president’s direct intercession? The Democrats did worse. On Election Night in 2016, Republicans took full control of the legislatures in Minnesota and Iowa. The Democratic Party’s sole remaining legislative majority in the South, in Kentucky, fell to the GOP for the first time in nearly 100 years. In North Carolina, the GOP held onto veto-proof majorities in state legislatures despite the statewide loss of an unpopular Republican governor. The GOP prevented Democrats from retaking the state Senate in New York. There were some gains in Nevada and New Mexico...and that was it.

The massacre of Democratic officials goes far beyond state legislatures. Democrats held 31 governorships in 2009. Now they hold 17, having been kicked out of the mansions in Missouri, Vermont, and New Hampshire. Following this year’s election, Republicans have control of all levers of government in 25 states.

Rape suspect Rubel rearrested, placed in remand
[Dhaka Tribune] On Tuesday morning, police relocked away
Book 'im, Mahmoud!
the suspect who raped a Garo woman after he beat feet from custody at a Dhaka court on Sunday.

Police said the incident was a result of negligence on the part of the coppers on duty.

Accused Rafsan Hossain alias Rubel claimed the local police threatened him with death if he did not provide a confessional statement and so he fled.

The court placed him on a six-day remand.

On Friday, RAB arrested Rubel, 30, from Dhaka’s Airport railway station on rape charges and on Sunday he beat feet from the judge’s chamber where he was due for his confessional statement.

"Rubel has been accused in nine cases including rape, extortion, possession of drugs and illegal firearms," said RAB-1 Commanding Officer Tuhin Mohammad Masud.

According to the case statement, the victim was raped on October 25 while visiting her betrothed, Ripon Mrong, at a mess in Misritola located in North Badda.

At a press briefing, Dhaka Metropolitan police (DMP) Gulshan zone Deputy Commissioner Mostaque Ahmed said Rubel left the court hiding his handcuffed hand in his trousers pocket.

Soon after, Rubel went to a store where he wrapped his hand with cotton so people could assume his arm was bandaged.

The suspect soon called a relative who sent him Tk1,000 through bKash transfer.

Rubel spent some time at Badda Suvastu Tower area and was later arrested from Suvastu bus stand yesterday.

Several attempts were made to leave the city, but fear stopped Rubel.

On his final attempt to flee Dhaka, he was arrested from the bus stop.

The DC said although they primarily suspected that police negligence was the cause of the easy escape, they were still investigating the matter and departmental action has already been taken.

Meanwhile,
...back at the game, the Babe headed for second base. He almost made it. Then Sheila slapped him....
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury granted a six-day police remand after OC Nazrul Islam, who is also the investigation officer of the case produced him before the court with ten-day remand plea.

Report claims Hillary became physically violent on election night, had to be restrained
The post further said:

...Hillary on election night was straight-up Hitler-in-the-bunker s**t. It even included psychotic screaming about "the Russians." The doctor helped restrain Hillary when she violently attacked Mook and Podesta at midnight. Gave sedatives, then amphetamines next morning. CNN reporter says Hillary needed so many amphetamines Wed morning she had unexpected nosebleeds all day. Fear was she’d bleed at concession.

#1  Well the nation skirted that crisis. And the dems knew of her physical issues and of her temper episodes, yet they still pushed the product on the American people.

#8  I guess the POTUS temperament question is settled. We won't have to worry about some country being nuked because she is in a drunken, pilled-out rage because she didn't get her way or the payoff didn't come through on time.

#9  And some people would have entrusted that woman with America's nukes?

When I learned about she conducting State Department's affairs on her own unencrypted account knowing her mail would have been lying at her ISP's (and her partners') hard disk I immediately thought: "This woman cannot be entrusted with America's nukes. Even my 16 years old daughter has a greater sense of responsibility."

Now I learn she was not only follish, light headed, corrupt b;tch but also emotionally unstable.

#15  I think the amphetamines were the cause of all of that random eye movement stuff.

She probably is on more meds than JFK was.

I saw a recent picture of her with her hands clasped in front of her. Her finger nails were discolored a dark rust color. As a recent successful graduate of chemotherapy, I know what that means...my finger nails were the same color. The woman is undergoing chemotherapy for cancer and all of the fainting spells and peculiar behavior are some of the side effects of chemotherapy and some of the drugs you take between rounds of chemicals.

She is a very sick woman and I would wager that she's going to go terminal in a few months and it will be public.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Syrian rebels eject ISIS from Hisha in Raqqa
[ARA News] Hisha – Displaced civilians from the Hisha town in northern Raqqa have returned home after nearly a week of displacement. More than 5,000 civilians returned to the key town of Hisha after the expulsion of ISIS at the hands of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), local sources reported on Tuesday.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) had imposed a siege on the ISIS-held Hisha town north of Raqqa last week. Residents of the town have been forced to leave their homes due to the intensified violence.

However, civilians have started to return home since Monday after their town was liberated by the SDF as part of the Euphrates Wrath Operation for Raqqa.

Sebastian Gorka's plan to defeat ISIS – simple but devastating
Just a nibble:
Remove politics

Refusing to call Islamic radicalism by name is inserting politics into warfare, asserts Gorka.

"Until politics is taken out of national security, we’re all at risk from the enemy whose name the White House refuses to use," he wrote on his website.

Refusing to recognize radical Islam has also put the fox in the henhouse.

The White House has enlisted the advice of various groups linked to the Muslim Brotherhood, a group Gorka says should instead be recognized as the progenitor of twentieth-century jihadism.

"Washington must resist the continuous lobbying and subversive tactics of groups such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC)," because these Muslim Brotherhood affiliates "helped establish ’violent extremism’ as the official label for jihadist terrorism, an act of misdirection meant to weaken our ability to identify and defeat the threat."

Passerby shoots, kills motorist assaulting deputy after traffic stop
[FOXNEWS] A driver who attacked a Florida sheriff's deputy Monday morning was shot and killed by a bystander who warned him to stop beating the officer, according to a report.

The incident began at around 9:30 a.m. when the Lee County deputy tried to make a traffic stop on Interstate 75 in Estero. Instead of complying, witnesses said the driver took off, reaching speeds of more than 100 miles per hour.

The deputy chased the suspect onto an exit ramp, where a witness said the suspect got out of his car and assaulted his pursuer.

Shanta Holditch told WZVN that the suspect pulled the deputy out of his car and "just kept beating him and beating him ... throwing him to the ground and punching him in all different directions."

At that point, WINK reported, another driver got out of his car and ran to the scene. He told the suspect that he'd shoot him if he didn't stop beating the deputy.

"[He] refused to get off the officer and the officer kept yelling, 'shoot him, shoot him, shoot him,' Holditch said.

When the suspect didn't stop his attack, the third man shot him three times. The deputy was not hit. The suspect later died.

"I heard like three shots. He fell down on top of the police officer," said a witness who would only give his last name, Smith. "After a moment, the police officer rolled him back over, got on his mic, then rolled over back on the ground besides the guy."
