It's official Hillary's president of California
h/t Instapundit
Democrats who are having trouble getting out of the first stage of grief -- denial -- aren’t being helped by the fact that, now that all the votes are counted, Hillary Clinton’s lead in the popular vote has topped 2.8 million, giving her a 48% share of the vote compared with Trumps 46%.

To those unschooled in how the United States selects presidents, this seems totally unfair. But look more closely at the numbers and you see that Clinton’s advantage all but disappears.

As we noted in this space earlier, while Clinton’s overall margin looks large and impressive, it is due to Clinton’s huge margin of victory in one state -- California -- where she got a whopping 4.3 million more votes than Trump.

New Trump crimes revealed
US President-elect Donald Trump donated $10,000 to Beit El in the West Bank in 2003, according to documents uncovered by The Jerusalem Post Sunday.

A Trump Foundation tax form from 2003 shows Trump gave the sum to American Friends of Beit El. Other Jewish organizations the Trump Foundation donated to that year are UJA-Federation, American Jewish Committee and American Jewish Historical Society.

Lynch says tarmac meeting with Bill Clinton was 'regrettable'
Attorney General Loretta Lynch on Sunday said she "regretted" her controversial tarmac meeting with former President Bill Clinton this summer while the FBI was still investigating Hillary Clinton's use of a secret server for her emails during her tenure as secretary of state.

While Lynch has never portrayed the June 27 Phoenix meeting as anything other than a cordial encounter, the lengthy tete-a-tete onboard Lynch's plane immediately raised questions about whether she – or the Justice Department – could be impartial in the Hillary Clinton investigation. Just days later, FBI Director James Comey called Hillary Clinton's actions "extremely careless" but declined to recommend charges.

"I wish I had seen around that corner and not had that discussion with the former president, as innocuous as it was, because it did give people concern," Lynch said on "State of the Union." "It did make people wonder, ‘Is it going to affect the investigation that's going on?' and that's not something that was an unreasonable question for anyone to ask."
but was portrayed as that, amirite?
Asked why Clinton sought out the meeting with Lynch, the outgoing attorney general declined to speculate.

"Well, I can't say what President Clinton saw or thought because I wasn't in communication with him before that," Lynch said. "I don't know what was in his mind."
"go ahead, pull the other one"

Peruvian farmer loses round in lawsuit against German power company RWE
Took all of five minutes
[DeutscheWelle] A regional court in Germany on Thursday ruled that a Peruvian farmer's lawsuit seeking damages for melting glaciers at his Andean home is unfounded. Those behind the lawsuit see the ruling as the start of a long fight.
with increasing Attorney's fees...of course. Soros?
The delivery of judgment took all of five minutes: The judge announced to the packed courtroom that the court had rejected the suit of the Peruvian farmer Saúl Luciano Lliuya. His claim that German energy company RWE must take responsibility for his fate, and that of his town of Huaraz, is unfounded and invalid, the judge said.

Peruvian Lliuya was the first in Europe to sue an alleged perpetrator of climate change in civil court. The farmer and mountain guide sees his home and that of 50,000 others threatened by a melting glacier and possible flood, propelled by climate change.

RWE, the largest single emitter of CO2 in the world, is jointly responsible for this, Lliuya says. RWE continues to run some of the largest coal operations in Europe, including Hambach and Garzweiler strip mines.

The court ruled on December 16, 2016, that the connection between Lliuyas situation and RWE is at most a scientific one - but not legally verifiable. The energy giant can not be held individually liable for the threat of a flood in Peru, the ruling continued.

Lliuya's lawyer Roda Verheyen was disappointed - but remained determined. "I think that the court did not delve in deep enough," she said after the ruling.

My theory is they've internalized Hitler's fuhrerpinzip without realizing it. They don't campaign to elect chief executives so much as god-kings, and have convinced themselves their candidates are just shy of being deities. Similarly, they truly believe any opposition to them comes from a desire to do evil -- because leftists are all angels with totally pure motives.

The modt fortunate thing is the most delusional in their ranks are the ones least likely to engage with the real world. The least fortunate is they still have influence and even power.

At least 48 Yemeni soldiers killed in suicide bombing at military base
suicide bomber blew himself up outside a military camp in the southern Yemeni city of Aden on Sunday morning, killing at least 48 soldiers, a Health Ministry official said. The Islamic State group's Yemen-based affiliate claimed responsibility.

Abdel-Nasr al-Wali, a Health Ministry official based in Aden, told The Associated Press that 84 people were injured in the blast. Security officials said that preliminary investigations showed the blast was the work of a bomber wearing an explosives-laden vest. The attack took place as soldiers lined up to collect their salaries, they said. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to brief the media.

The IS affliate claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement posted on IS-run Aamaq news agency. It identified the bomber as Abu Hashim al-Radfani and published a photo of him smiling and wearing a white vest as he stood next to the group's black flag. It also posted photos it said were of the blast that killed nearly 70. It was not possible to immediately verify the claim.

The blast took place at the same military base that was also struck by a suicide bomber on Dec. 10, killing 57 soldiers. The IS Yemeni affiliate also claimed responsibility for that attack.

In addition to IS, Yemen is the longtime home to an active branch of al-Qaida, widely regarded as the most dangerous of the international extremist group.

Aden is controlled by a loose coalition of troops loyal to the internationally-recognized government of President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, local militias and jihadi groups. They are battling Shiite rebels, known as Houthis, who seized Yemen's capital, Sanaa, in 2014 and later swept across much of northern Yemen.

The Houthi's advances forced Hadi to flee the country and seek shelter in neighboring Saudi Arabia. A Saudi-led coalition, mostly consisting of Gulf Arab states, subsequently intervened in Yemen in early 2015, launching a punishing air campaign against the rebels and their allies.

Margaret Sanger Movie in the Works 'This complex, enigmatic revolutionary.'
[TR] America's beloved eugenicist Margaret Sanger will be getting her own movie based on the novel about her rise to become the founder of Planned Parenthood, America's abortion conglomerate that now receives $500 million a year in federal funds.

According to Deadline Hollywood, the film will be based on Ellen Feldman’s novel Terrible Virtue and will be produced by Black Bicycle Entertainment and producer Justine Ciarrochhi.

Terrible Virtue focuses on Sanger as the daughter of a hard-drinking, smooth-tongued free thinker and mother worn down by 13 children, who vowed her life would be different. Following Sanger’s training as a nurse, her work alongside labor organizers, anarchists, socialists and other progressives and eventually her devotion to the cause of legalizing contraception, the film examines the risks she took and the impact she had that lasts to the present day.

Terrible Virtue referred to Sanger as a "complex, enigmatic revolutionary" in the description on the book's back cover:

This complex, enigmatic revolutionary was at once vain and charismatic, generous and ruthless, sexually impulsive and coolly calculating--a competitive, self-centered woman who championed all women, a conflicted mother who suffered the worst tragedy a parent can experience. From opening the first illegal birth control clinic in America in 1916 through the founding of Planned Parenthood to the arrival of the Pill in the 1960s, Margaret Sanger sacrificed two husbands, three children, and scores of lovers in her fight for sexual equality and freedom.

Planned Parenthood now performs 300,000 abortions per year in the United States.

New Yorker Editor Reminick throws fit over Trump Pro-Israel AMBO pick
[Front Page] Our country still faces many problems. And yet there's something undeniably cheering about seeing the left gnash its teeth and shriek hatefully over things like this. "This" being Trump's unique pick of a pro-Israel ambassador to Israel. This being David Remnick, the New Yorker editor who is probably the second most loathsome figure in the media after Jeffrey Goldberg, squirm with frustrated rage.

"Every morning since November 9th, you wake up and read the news and think, This has got to be an issue of The Onion... But, rather than fog the mind and defeat the spirit with the litany of accumulated outrages, let’s concentrate on the outrage of the day: the appointment of a bankruptcy lawyer named David Friedman as Ambassador to Israel. Friedman writes regularly for Arutz Sheva, a pro-settler Web site that is available in English. After reading these columns, you might reasonably conclude that, if Israel decided it was in its interest to annex the West Bank, Friedman would heartily approve and help raise the flag. Ideologically, Friedman is to the right of Benjamin Netanyahu."

Oh no! To the right of Netanyahu? But I thought Netanyahu was already a crazy right-wing extremist. And here Friedman would approve of Israel tossing out Islamic terrorists and reclaiming all of Israel.

Don't we know the Ambassador is supposed to be a State Department cretin obsessed with blaming Israel for the lack of an Islamic terror state to be dubbed Palestine regardless of the historical revisionism. We're not supposed to have a pro-Israel ambassador who thinks Jews can live in '67 Israel. It's not supposed to happen. What happened to David Remnick's sane leftist world?

Britain
British companies absorb Brexit shock, get on with business for 2017
[Reuters] Richard Bunce says he felt sick when voters decided to take Britain out of the European Union in June, forcing him into a emergency review of his firm's expansion plans.

But six months on, orders are strong and a new growth plan is in place, according to Bunce, managing director of Mec Com Ltd which sells devices to protect against power surges to clients such as Siemens (SIEGn.DE) and Alstom (ALSO.PA).

Far from the "profound and immediate economic shock" predicted by Britain's finance ministry in the event of a vote for Brexit, the economy has, so far, barely slowed. Bunce expects tougher times. But like many other executives trying to push their Brexit worries to one side, he invested - nearly half a million pounds on a new laser-cutting machine over the summer.

Now he plans to spend another 750,000 pounds ($932,000) on robotic metal-working equipment at Mec Com's plant near Stafford, a town 135 miles (217 km) northwest of London, after landing a big contract with a British food processing firm.

"We believe that the opportunities we have got will, one way or another, find a way around Brexit," Bunce said.

To be sure, what Brexit means is far from clear. Britain is due to begin its two-year divorce process with the EU early next year. Agreeing its new relationship could take a lot longer. Bunce is taking precautions in case his firm ends up facing tariffs on its exports to the EU. He recently traveled to Romania to discuss the possibility of expanding his company's existing unit there in the event of a "hard" Brexit.

"If that happens then we would need to find a way to switch very quickly, but as things stand we are planning for more UK business," he said.

Facebook to Use Left-Wing Snopes, PolitiFact, and FactCheck.Org to Crush Conservative News Sites
[Liberty Alliance] With the left’s newest war cry of "fake news" now always at the ready to deploy as a weapon to quash any right of center news outlet, Facebook has announced that it will use three left-of-center organizations to "review" conservative sites to see if they are producing "fake news."

So, what could go wrong? Plenty.

Facebook insists it is doing its part to torpedo those "fake news" sites that so many liberals claim gave Trump the White House. But this is all just a smoke screen.

In fact, this effort has nothing whatever to do with making sure "news" is truthful. All it really is, is just another attempt by liberals to re-instate their once indisputable status as the "gatekeepers" of the media, an assumption that created a screening process through which only their approved, liberal "news" could get past. It was this "gatekeeping" wall that caused the loss of Vietnam, for instance, as the entirety of the liberal media lied to Americans that the war was lost and the U.S. should get out of Vietnam despite that the U.S. military won nearly every engagement it ever entered into during that conflict.

Egypt opens Rafah crossing Saturday for three days
[AlAhram] Egypt opened the Rafah border crossing with the Gazoo Strip Saturday for three days, the state-run MENA news agency reported.

The crossing will be open in both directions to allow humanitarian cases to cross.

The Rafah border crossing between Gazoo and Sinai is the only way for 1.8 million Paleostinians in Gazoo, who have been living under Israeli siege since 2006, to enter and exit the Strip.

The crossing has been mostly closed by Egyptian authorities since October 2014 on security grounds.

Cairo periodically opens the border for short periods to allow civilians with foreign passports, Paleostinian students, and those with medical needs to travel back and forth.

Egypt to compensate families of Cairo church bombing victims
[AlAhram] The Egyptian cabinet decided in a meeting on Saturday to issue compensations to the families of the victims of the Sunday bombing at the St. Peter and St. Paul Church in Cairo, Arabic Ahram website reported.

The families of those who died in the blast will receive EGP 100,000 and an exceptional monthly pension of EGP 1,500 per victim.

Those injured in the bombing and were hospitalised for more than 72 hours will receive EGP 40,000 and will have their medical fees paid.

The suicide kaboom was one of the bloodiest Egypt has seen in years, killing 26 people, mainly women, and injuring over 40 others.

The kaboom also caused severe damage to several parts of the church.

The health ministry said on Friday that 23 of those injured in the attack remain hospitalised, three of whom are at death's door.

Mr. Diyab was in the habit of engaging in hunger strikes in the years after his 2002 arrest in Lahore, Pakistan. He claimed to have gone to Kabul with his family to become a honey seller, which is inconsistent with the accusations by other Bagram and Guantanamo prisoners that he went through Al Qaeda military training camps, hosted a senior Al Qaeda figure, and was an expert document and passport forger...
has returned to the country because another country had refused to take him in.

Dhiab had boarded a flight for South Africa on Thursday and apparently was denied entry.

He's one of six former Guantanamo prisoners who were accepted by Uruguay two years ago.

Dhiab has repeatedly expressed unhappiness about life in Uruguay, but the government hasn't been able to find an alternative.
One would be surprised if they tried very hard...

New Pak Army chief has close links with the JuD, reveals report
[Iraq Sun] Pakistain's 16th Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, is said to be not only a very proud Moslem and a follower of the Sharia, but unknown to most, seems to have close links with the fundamentalist Jamaat-ud-Dawa
...the front organization of Lashkar-e-Taiba...
(JuD), which is led by 26/11 criminal mastermind Hafeez Saeed.

According to a report published by Roznama Dunya, a venture of Dunya News, Pakistain's leading news and current affairs channel, the JuD appears to have endorsed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif

Recently, Amir Hamza, one of the central leaders of the JuD, which India has held responsible for the November 2008 terror attacks in Mumbai that claimed over 160 lives and left more than 300 others injured through its murderous Moslem wing, the Lashkar-e-Taiba

Dr Muhammad Idrees Ahmad: Obama to be defined by Syrian failure
[Guardian] On Friday, near Palmyra, 14 tanks and an anti-aircraft system were destroyed in an air strike on Isis. Palmyra recently fell to the jihadists after the Syrian regime and its allies diverted forces to Aleppo, leaving the ancient city under-defended.

This was a repeat of events last year when, on the advice of the Iranian general Qassem Suleimani, the regime deployed troops away from Palmyra to the strategically significant metropolis of Aleppo. The planes struck Palmyra on the same day Suleimani was photographed treading the city’s rubble. But the planes weren’t Russian or Syrian: they belonged to the US-led international coalition. While the US has its own reasons for battling Isis, in this case it was picking up the slack from the regime.

Palmyra has only symbolic significance for Assad. Aleppo was the prize, and, with the world watching impotent, the regime was able to starve and bludgeon its population into surrender. The regime was aided by Russian bombers and special forces, Iranian Revolutionary Guards, Hezbollah mercenaries, and a horde of sectarian militias from Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan ‐ but, above all, it was aided by American indifference.

In an interview with Jeffrey Goldberg of the Atlantic magazine earlier this year, President Obama said he was "very proud" of the moment in 2013 when, against the "overwhelming weight of conventional wisdom", he decided not to honour his own "red line", allowing Assad to escape accountability for a chemical attack that had killed more than 1,400 civilians.

Obama may be alone in this judgment. A year earlier, seemingly on a whim, he had set a red line on the use of chemical weapons at a time when none were being used. The red line was, in effect, a green light to conventional killing. But the regime called Obama’s bluff ‐ and, predictably, he backed down. No longer fearing punishment, the regime escalated its tactics.

A similar assessment was made recently by Charles Krauthammer.

Suicide attack bid on Imambargah foiled in Hyderabad
[DAWN] HYDERABAD: A would-be jacket wallah was killed by Rangers on Daman-e-Kohsar Road in Latifabad on Friday, while an accomplice of his escaped.

According to a blurb issued by a Rangers front man in Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
about the first such incident in Hyderabad, the bomber tried to enter an Imambargah
...since Pakistain is very religiously correct, Shia Moslems can't call their houses of worship 'mosques,' which are reserved for Sunnis. It's not clear if imambargahs are used for explosives storage like mosques are...
while Friday prayers were under way.

"While trying to enter the Imambargah he lobbed a grenade at a Rangers van but the personnel responded swiftly and he was killed. His accomplice fled," it said.

The Bab-e-Ali mosque is a few metres away from the Amani Shah graveyard from where the body of the terrorist, who appeared to be in his late 20s, was shifted to the Liaquat University Hospital’s mortuary by the Edhi volunteers.

A Rangers officer, who was witnessing Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) officials defusing the boom jacket worn by the terrorist, told this correspondent that a team of the paramilitary force was carrying out snap checking when they spotted two men on a cycle of violence. When asked to stop, one of them entered the graveyard, while his accomplice fled on the cycle of violence. "The man who was killed lobbed a cracker inside the graveyard," he said, adding that the Rangers’ vehicle was not hit. Police said a 30-bore pistol was found in the possession of the dead terrorist, wearing black shalwar kameez.

However,
death is not the end. There remains the litigation over the estate...
according to private security guards of the under-construction mosque, which also houses an institute, the prayers are held at around 1.30pm. "I heard a blast at around 11.45am and when I was coming to the mosque I saw that Rangers had besieged the graveyard. But no one tried to enter our mosque during the prayers," said Nazim Zaidi, who is associated with the security and management of the premises.

The construction began in 2013 and most of the structure has been completed. The institution is being supervised by Dr Ghazanfar Taqvi, based in Karachi.

Mr Zaidi said the premises had twice come under armed attacks last year and the incidents had been reported to the airport police.

"We noted suspicious movements by people outside and also previously found objectionable chalking on the mosque’s wall. This, too, was reported to police," he said.

It took BDS personnel more than an hour to defuse both parts of the suicide jacket. Rangers officials didn’t let photographers take snaps of the jacket. BDS official Ramzan Panhwar said: "There were no ball-bearings except for around 7kg of kaboom, which will be sent to a forensic laboratory for tests."

A detonator was also found in the hand of the dead terrorist.

Iran: After Aleppo, we will intervene in Bahrain, Yemen
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The leaders of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards launched provocative statements against the Gulf states threatening to intervene in Bahrain and Yemen.

The comments were reported by Iranian media after what they described as a "victory in Aleppo," upon the massacres, starvation and displacement against civilians. Aleppo was considered as one of the strongholds of the opposition; however, the Syrian regime took a hold of it with the help and support of Iranian and Russian military troops.

In this context, the deputy commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Gen. Hossein Salami told the official Iranian news agency Islamic Theocratic Republic News Agency that "The victory in Aleppo will pave the way for liberating Bahrain," pointing out that Iran has an expansion project that will extend to Bahrain, Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
and djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
after the fall of the Syrian city of Aleppo.

Salami said that "the people of Bahrain will achieve their wishes, the Yemeni people will be delighted, and the residents of Mosul will taste victory, these are all divine promises," as he put it.

He also pointed out that Iran is still providing unlimited support for the Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
group, highlighting that Iranian missile could destroy the enemy targets in any area.

Salami described the control of the Syrian regime forces on the Syrian city of Aleppo, which have claimed the lives of hundreds of civilians as "a conquest."

The comments of the front man for the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Brigadier General Ramadan Sharif reveal the intentions of Tehran to expand geographically through bloody wars and military interventions in the Arab World.

Sharif noted that the Iranian forces and its sectarian militia from Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistain and Hezbollah with the support of Russia played a "fateful and very influential role" in the battles of Aleppo.

It is noteworthy that Iran’s hostility against Bahrain and the Gulf states has escalated since the Prime Minister of Britannia, Theresa May, vowed her country’s support for the Gulf States in the face of Iranian terrorism.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned the British ambassador in Tehran in protest against Theresa May’s remarks during her speech on the 7th of December, at the Summit of Gulf Cooperation Council, where she declared: "We need to work together to address Iranian regional hostilities whether it is in Leb, Iraq, Yemen, Syria, or in the Gulf itself."

3 Indian soldiers die in Kashmir
SRINAGAR: Suspected separatists killed three Indian soldiers after ambushing a convoy in India-held Kashmir, officials said Saturday.

An unknown number of people on motorbikes opened fire on the army convoy near Pampore town on the key highway a few miles south of Srinagar, the region's main city, officials said.

“Motorcycle-borne militants ambushed an army convoy. There have been casualties but details are being ascertained,” K. Rajendra Kumar, police chief of the Kashmir region told AFP.

An Indian army official on condition of anonymity told AFP that “three soldiers were killed in the attack”.

The gunmen fled the scene and a major search operation to track down the attackers had been launched, the source said.

Thousands of vehicles including army convoys pass daily through the crucial 300-kilometre Jammu-Srinagar highway — the only road link to the Himalayan valley.

Last month suspected militants killed seven soldiers after they attacked a military base along the highway.

Uptick in violence
In the worst civilian violence to hit the restive region of IHK since 2010, more than 120 Kashmiri civilians have been killed and thousands more injured in Indian-held Kashmir in clashes with security forces after the killing of a prominent Kashmiri separatist leader Burhan Wani, in a military operation on July 8.

Wani, a 22-year-old commander of Kashmir's largest pro-independence militant group Hizbul Mujahideen (HM), was killed along with two other separatists during a gun battle with Indian government forces.

Wani joined the HM group at the age of just 15, and was viewed as a hero by many in Kashmir. The state's former chief minister Omar Abdullah tweeted after his death that he had become the “new icon of Kashmir's disaffected”.

Witnesses said tens of thousands attended his funeral despite a curfew imposed by Indian authorities, chanting independence slogans.

Most have died in clashes between protesters and government forces who have fired tear gas and pellet guns at demonstrators.

India's home minister police and troops would use chilli-based shells instead of ones filled with birdshot after hundreds of civilians sustained serious eye injuries in the clashes.

The metal pellets fired from the pump-action shotguns rarely result in deaths, but can often blind victims if the fragments hit them in the eye.

Authorities have imposed a curfew across large parts of the region, with schools, shops and many banks closed.

Internet and mobile networks have also been cut off in a bid to prevent protests.

Kashmir has been divided between India and Pakistan since the two gained independence from British rule in 1947. Both claim the territory in full.

Several rebel groups have for decades fought Indian soldiers deployed in the territory, demanding independence for the region or its merger with Pakistan.

Tens of thousands of people, mostly civilians, have died in the fighting.

Iran sermon: Muslims defeated ‘infidels’ in Aleppo
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Tehran Friday prayers holy man, Ayatollah Mohammad Emami Kashani, claimed a military victory in Aleppo, applauding what he commended as "Aleppo triumph" as a victory of the "Moslems over the Infidels", according to various Iranian state run controlled media outlets.

According to "al-Alam" news channel website, Kashani affirmed that Aleppo was "liberated" and not "fallen" and that the Moslems were victorious over the infidels, as an innuendo to the Syrian opposition, who rebelled against Bashar al Assad’s authoritarian regime and consequently being forcibly evacuated from their homes as culmination of the siege, starvation and shelling.

In addition, Kashani was quoted by the Iranian "al Hawza news agency" Saturday, saying that Aleppo’s accomplishment is "a victory achieved as a consequence of resoluteness, tenacity and determination."

Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. school that left over 130 children dead.

"Dec. 16 marked the second anniversary of the horrendous attack on the Peshawar Army Public School, which killed more than 130 children," USFOR-A said in a statement.

The statement further added "In July, a U.S. strike killed the criminal mastermind of the attack, Umar Khalifa. Although his death will not bring back the victims, we remember those who lost family and friends."

"We will continue to stand with all those who join the common fight against gunnies in Afghanistan and Pakistain," the statement added.

The statement by the US forces in Afghanistan was issued a day after Pentagon released its latest report on Afghanistan.

Pentagon in its report said "Afghan-oriented bully boy groups, including Taliban and Haqqani Network big shotship, retain freedom of action from safe havens inside Pak territory."

According to the report, the Afghan Government’s relationship with Pakistain remains a critical aspect of enhancing security and stability in Afghanistan, adding that "Since the beginning of President Ghani’s tenure, leaders from both countries have generally made a concerted effort to improve relations and better address mutual security interests, such as the threat from various bully boy groups that reside in the Afghanistan-Pakistain border region."

In the meantime, the Afghan officials have long been criticizing Pakistain for remaining reluctant to act against the terrorist groups using its soil to plan and coordinate attacks in Afghanistan, including the Taliban and Haqqani terrorist network which the Afghan officials believe are having leadership councils based in the main cities of Pakistain.

3 soldiers killed, 2 injured in Pampore convoy attack
[Daily Excelsior] In one of the audacious attacks on an Army convoy today at Kadalbal in Pampore area of South Kashmire on National Highway, three Army personnel were killed and two others injured while snuffies managed to flee.

Sources said that Lashkar-e-Taiba
...the Army of the Pure, an Ahl-e-Hadith terror organization founded by Hafiz Saeed. LeT masquerades behind the Jamaat-ud-Dawa facade within Pakistain and periodically blows things up and kills people in India. Despite the fact that it is banned, always an interesting concept in Pakistain, the organization remains an blatant tool and perhaps an arm of the ISI...
(LeT) snuffies attacked an Army convoy at Kadalbal, Pampore on National Highway in district Pulwama at around 3 p.m.

They said that 5 snuffies came in a Sumo car and parked it near the bridge, some 200 meters from the highway in Kadalbal, Pampore. Sources identified the two snuffies who fired at the bus as Abu Ali and Abu Ismail, both Paks. "They were accompanied by a local Lion of Islam Ayub Lone while two more Arif and Riyaz were waiting in the Sumo. Militants after carrying out the attack crossed the bridge and boarded the Sumo to flee from the spot", they added.

The Army convoy was coming from Jammu and was on way to Srinagar when it came under attack at Pampore. Five Army men were maimed in the attack and three of them ‐ K Suratnand, S Panday of 51 Rashtriya Rifles and Ratesh C of 36 RR ‐ were declared as brought dead at 92-Base Hospital of Army at Badami Bagh Cantonment.

The two others, one identified as Mohammad Hussain of 17 Jammu and Kashmire Light Infantry (JKLI) and another of 13 RR suffered minor injuries in the attack and they are undergoing treatment at 92-Base hospital.

Army, Police and CRPF immediately reached the spot and massive searches were launched against the snuffies responsible for the attack. Several areas around Kadalbal were searched by the security forces but the snuffies had managed to flee. Security forces have, however, launched massive manhunt against these Lion of Islams.

Security forces also carried out checking of the vehicles on Pulwama road, Lasjin road and on the National Highway. However,
if you can't say something nice about a person some juicy gossip will go well...
no one was nabbed
Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'!
Sources said that security agencies had inputs that snuffies were planning attack on security forces on the Srinagar-Anantnag stretch of the highway. Security forces were already alert but snuffies managed to carry out the attack.

The traffic on the highway came to halt for about one hour after the attack and later there was massive traffic jams that took several hours for clearance.

Pampore has been the site of several attacks this year. In October, a gun-battle with two LeT snuffies who barged into Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) building ended after nearly 60 hours. The same seven-story building was also targeted in a major attack in February during which 5 soldiers and a civilian were killed then.

Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti condemned the killing of three Army personnel in a Lion of Islam attack in Pampore town. She said violence has never helped in the resolution of issues but only compounded the human miseries. She expressed her sympathies with the families of slain soldiers.

Traces of explosives found on EgyptAir May crash victims
Egyptian air accident investigators have revealed that traces of explosives were detected on the remains of victims of the EgyptAir flight from Paris that crashed in the Mediterranean sea in May. The claim by Egypt’s civil aviation investigation committee suggests that the crash, which killed all 66 people on board, was caused by a bomb, although it does not solve the mystery of where a device might have been smuggled on board - or who was responsible.

The disappearance of the EgyptAir flight came only months after a Russian airliner flying from Sharm el-Sheikh was brought down by a bomb over the Sinai Peninsula – killing 224 people. That attack was claimed by the local affiliate of Islamic State.

“The central directorate of aircraft accident investigation received reports from the forensic medicine authority indicating traces of explosive materials found in some of the remains of the victims’ bodies,” the ministry stated on Thursday.

Hillary's Holiday Party Was Like a Wake
[GP] Hillary Clinton was spotted looking glum as she arrived at New York’s Plaza Hotel to host her holiday party on Thursday for the deep-pocketed donors who helped fund her campaign. (Daily Mail)

Apparently, they see they have no chance of stealing the Electoral College count on Monday.
Insightful of them. It will make what follows easier, albeit no less painful.
"It was like a wake with a band," quipped one guest who was at the Plaza on Thursday for Hillary Clinton’s holiday party to thank top-tier donors, VIP boosters and campaign advisers.

The source said, "It was a little bit of group therapy and a lot of love" among the losing Democratic rainmakers.

Spotted in the crowd were Clinton advisers Huma Abedin, John Podesta and Robby Mook, donors Alan Patricof, Bernard Schwartz, Marc Lasry, Jay Snyder and Robert Zimmerman, designers Vera Wang and Tory Burch, plus Anna Wintour, Harvey Weinstein and restaurateur Danny Meyer.

Also there were Bill and Chelsea Clinton and Chelsea’s husband, Marc Mezvinsky.

"No one has any illusion of ’the band coming back together again,’ but it did bring a sense of closure," said a Hillary backer of the possibility she’d come back as a candidate.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Americans Bought ‘17,850 Tons' of Imported Ammo in Last 12 Months
[Breitbart London] As gun sales have skyrocketed over the past 19 months, ammunition sales have also surged, with "17,850 tons" of imported ammunition being sold in the past 12 months.

That is nearly 18,000 tons of ammo in a year’s time and approximately "2,865 tons of bullets" that were imported in November alone.

CNN Money pointed to figures from research firm Panjiva, which show ammunition imports for last month were up 200% over where they were a year ago. Panjiva’s Chris Rogers said, "It’s very unusual in an import industry like this to see such a big move. It tells you that there’s a customer demand that’s not being met by U.S. manufacturers."

Nisar responds to critics: 'I told PM Nawaz I can resign but he declined'
[DAWN] Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar responded to growing criticism against him on Saturday, saying the report on the inquiry into the attack on lawyers in Quetta is "one-sided".

"I went to the prime minister yesterday, told him if my expression embarrasses the government then I would resign to set the record straight. He said that is unacceptable to him, which is why I am standing here in front of you today to tell you the other side of the story," Nisar said at a presser in Islamabad.

Nisar's remarks come days after an inquiry report into an Aug 8 attack on lawyers in Quetta slammed government inaction against bad boys.

Militias Open Fire on Worshipers in Al-Bayda
"Kidnapping" AKA recruiting new shooters/fillers
Taiz – Houthi and Saleh rebel militias committed on Friday a new crime after entering a mosque in the city of al-Bayda, sporadically firing live ammunition at civilians and kidnapping a number of worshipers.

Local sources and eyewitnesses told Asharq Al-Awsat that, “Militias infringed Al-Tawhid Mosque in central al-Bayda with tens of armed men and tried to kidnap the Friday preacher and replace him with a preacher allied to them.”

However, the sources said worshipers gathered to prevent Houthis from replacing the preacher. “The armed militias therefore started shooting inside the mosque, injuring a number of worshipers, and kidnapping others,” the sources added.

The incident comes amid fierce battles in al-Bayda governorate at several fronts, where the Yemeni Army Forces and their allies had made an important advancement and recuperated several positions previously controlled by Houthi and Saleh rebel militias.

Political activist Ahmad al-Hamzi who is from al-Bayda told Asharq Al-Awsat that residents were angry with Houthi and Saleh militias after breaking into the mosque during the Friday prayers. “Those militias incite sectarian works against civilians as they try to enforce their ideas by the use of force,” al-Hamzi said.

The activist asserted that rebel militias had hysterically launched Katyusha missiles and mortars on civilian houses in the areas of Al ‘Ajradi and Al-Qawa’a in Az Zahir district.

In Taiz, Houthi and Saleh militias continue to commit new massacres against civilians by shelling the residential neighborhoods of the city and the villages of Hayfan and Al-Salo, south Taiz, and by attacking Yemeni army positions at several fronts.

At the field level, Arab Coalition jets raided on Friday positions of Houthi militias in Taiz. Eyewitnesses said: “The coalition jets raided militia positions in the 22 Brigade camp, east Taiz.”

Meanwhile, Yemeni Human Rights Minister Izzedine al-Asbahi posted on his Facebook page on Friday that the Taiz battle would end by a victory for the city, “which will turn into an example for change and as the last wall that confronted the pour of hatred and the rhetoric that destroyed humans before the stone.”

Spy cell gave vital military data to Iran
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The 32-strong Iranian spy ring supplied Tehran with 124 intelligence reports containing detailed information about vital military installations in the Kingdom and other security data.

The Criminal Court in Riyadh has sentenced 15 members of the ring to death, and incarcerated
Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages!
15 others to prison terms ranging from six months to 25 years and acquitted two (a Saudi and an Afghan national).

The cell, which was busted late 2014 and early 2015, consisted of 30 Saudis, an Iranian and an Afghan national who was a cook at a National Guard camp.

Court sources said the cell delivered their reports to Iranian intelligence elements mostly through personal meetings with undercover diplomats in the Iranian embassy in Riyadh, its consulate in Jeddah and its permanent mission to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah.

Methods also included sending emails containing coded messages in which they were trained by Iranian intelligence elements.

The sources said the cell members held personal meetings with as many as 24 Iranian intelligence elements in and outside the kingdom.

They said the most important elements with which the cell members used to liaise were the director of the intelligence bureau in Tehran, the first secretary of the Iranian OIC mission and the director of the office of Ali Khamenei. The cell included seven Saudi military men who used to provide the Iranian intelligence elements data and photographs of the sensitive military locations, warplanes, military airports and the confidential military correspondence.

The sources said the military spies used small cameras in key rings to send photos to Tehran.

The sources also said a medical consultant at King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh used to supply Tehran with medical reports about the health condition of the late King Abdullah and his Crown Prince Naif.

CNN’s Rye: Trump’s Election ‘Far From Legitimate,’ ‘That Guy Is Not My President
[BREITBART] On Friday’s broadcast of CNN’s "AC360," CNN Political Commentator Angela Rye stated that "Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
’s election, in my mind, is far from legitimate."

Rye said, "Donald Trump’s election, in my mind, is far from legitimate, at this point. I have every issue with the world that the fact that Hillary Clinton
... former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, sometimes described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as a crook...
gets closer and closer every day to three million vote -- to a three million vote lead against Donald Trump. I have every issue in the world with the fact that electors feel like they can’t, in some instances, in good conscience, support this man as president. I have every issue in the world with the fact that the intelligence community is questioning the legacy of legitimacy of this election. If someone can hack into, not just our process ‐."

She added, "I do not believe this is legitimate, for a lot of reasons, including the fact that the intelligence community says that our electoral process was tampered with. ... I have every issue with the Electoral College, and I have since before this election. It does not speak for me. I am not supporting a system that was built on the backs of my ancestors who were slaves. I’m not here for it. ... That guy is not my president."

Russian Hackers May Have Interfered With Vote On Church Potluck
Satire site.
[BABYLONBEE] AUSTIN, TX—According to sources, local man Clarence Williams has urged his church’s lead pastor as well as local law enforcement to move forward with an investigation into Russian hacking, claiming that there was ample evidence to support the theory that malicious foreign agents infiltrated and influenced the outcome of a vote on the date for next month’s potluck at Second Baptist Church.

“The final vote tally appeared to show suspicious activity, with over 40 church members voting to hold the potluck on the January 11 date, and only 12 voting for January 18,” an agitated Williams told reporters Friday.

“I really wanted January 18th to win, and I thought it would win—but it did not. Considering these facts, I am confident the results were influenced by Russian hackers,” he continued, adding that Putin “needs to keep his commie hands” off of the sovereign Independent Baptist church’s affairs.

Given the new evidence and pending a thorough investigation, Williams is actively urging church members to consider a recount, or else protest the potluck by failing to bring a casserole to the event.

were maimed in a clash with coppers at the emergency ward of the infirmary in the wee hours of Saturday.

A duty doctor said the coppers had brought one of their injured colleagues to the ward. "The patient was being examined when around a dozen coppers reached there and started making calls to their colleagues, causing inconvenience to other patients as well. The guards were asked to take them away as according to the SOP, only one attendant is allowed with a patient at the emergency ward."

Shahid, one of the injured guards, said the coppers were politely asked to leave the ward but they got infuriated and pushed him.

Another guard came to the rescue of Shahid but the coppers attacked him with fists and kicks. Other guards deputed outside the emergency and nearby wards also reached there and a scuffle ensued.

The hospital administration, on being informed about the situation, acted swiftly and approached some senior police officer who asked the cops to leave the place.

Mayo Chief Executive Officer Prof Dr Asad Aslam said a complaint had been lodged against the coppers involved in the brawl.

An official at the Gowalmandi cop shoppe said some of the suspects had been taken into custody.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Rebel truce violations scuttled first evacuation
[al-Manar] Syria’s Ambassador to the UN, Bashar Jaafari said that a deal to evacuate Aleppo broke down over violations by terrorists who took hostages, the remains of Syrian Army troops, and prohibited weapons with them.

“More than 9,449 terrorists [and members of their families] have evacuated from the eastern part of the city, due to the agreement made for this purpose and thanks to Russian mediation,” Jaafari told RT.

He then explained why the evacuation stopped amid reports the Syrian Army blamed the militants for violating the evacuation deal.

“Unfortunately, the agreement was violated today by the terrorist groups who took hostages with them and corpses of Syrian Army martyrs while they were exiting the city,” Jaafari said. “[They also] were transferring medium-caliber weapons after dismantling them in violation [of the] agreement.”

The agreement “does not allow them to take with them any prisoners, any hostages, and any corpses of Syrian Army soldiers killed by them – but they did,” he explained, also adding that only light weapons were supposed to be taken out of the militant-occupied areas, but not the heavier arms.

Jaafari estimated that a “couple thousand” of militants that refused to exit the city altogether comprise of “the most radical elements.” He claimed that those belonged to groups “working for Turkish intelligence.”

New Deal Reached to Continue Aleppo Evacuation

[al-Manar] A new deal has been reached to evacuate eastern Aleppo, after the original pact broke down over violations by terrorist militants.

More than 9,000 of militants, members of their families and civilians had been evacuated from Aleppo’s east. But the evacuation was suspended on Friday after the militants took hostages, the remains of Syrian Army troops, and prohibited weapons with them, Syria’s Ambassador to the UN, Bashar Jaafari told RT.

Reuters news agency on Saturday, quoted a Syrian government official as saying that the stalled evacuation of Aleppo would resume, alongside some evacuations from the besieged twons of Foua, Kefraya, Madaya and Zabadani.

“It was agreed to resume evacuations from east Aleppo in parallel with the evacuation of (medical) cases from Kefraya and al-Foua and some cases from Zabadani and Madaya,” said the government official, part of the evacuations negotiating team.

The agency also quoted a militant commander as reporting the deal.

Speaking from Aleppo to news channel al-Arabiya al-Hadath, al-Farouk Abu Bakr said the deal comprised an evacuation from the besieged villages of Foua and Kefraya, the evacuation of wounded people from two towns near the Lebanese border, and the full evacuation of east Aleppo.

Syrian rebels capture new areas in Raqqa as ISIS beats feet
[ARA News] Raqqa – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continued to advance in Raqqa Governorate on Saturday, driving Islamic State (ISIS) jihadists out of five more villages.

“The Syrian Democratic Forces initiated the attack by bombing ISIS’ headquarters in western Raqqa with heavy artillery and mortar fire. Five more villages were liberated today,” the SDF Media Office told ARA News.

Military sources confirmed that the Kurdish-led SDF troops captured on Saturday the villages of Brosenjar al-Shamali, Brosenjar al-Janubi, Sahba, Ebu Jalat and Haji Sleman west of Raqqa.

The SDF leadership stressed the key role of the US-led coalition’s air support in the battle for Raqqa.

“More than 25 ISIS terrorists were killed in Saturday’s operation,” SDF officer Daner Berkhudan told ARA News. “Several ISIS vehicles were seen leaving the targeted villages after the militants suffered heavy losses under the SDF bombardment.”

Saturday’s advance comes just a few days after the SDF expelled ISIS militants from ten other villages in western Raqqa last week– Bir Shallal, Um Salim, Safakher, Ajaj, Merwaniya, Krajah, Hamer Saghir, Hamer Kabir, Qerefdan and Draniya.

The SDF have released several statements, inducing the jihadists in Raqqa to surrender.

“To the jihadists of the so-called Islamic State, our fire will soon reach downtown Raqqa and by then you won’t be able to escape,” the SDF said in a hair-raising statement last Monday. “This is the final call: either surrender to the Syrian Democratic Forces or die.”

The Syrian Democratic Forces announced the beginning of the second phase of the Euphrates Wrath Operation last week Saturday. While the first phase focused on securing both banks of the Balikh River, the second phase aims “at liberating the western countryside of Raqqa.”

The long-term objective of Euphrates Wrath is the elimination of the Islamic State in its de facto capital, Raqqa city.

The SDF and the US-led coalition have liberated 37 km2 so far as part of the second phase of the operation. During the first phase of Euphrates Wrath, SDF soldiers captured an area measuring approximately 560 km2.

Obama Warns Russia, "We can do stuff to you."
Golly. How intimidating. Don't call his bluff, guys.
President Obama warned Russia on Friday not to wage cyber warfare against the United States, saying, "We can do stuff to you" as he defended his handling of Moscow's alleged hacking of Democrats' emails to influence the 2016 election.

"Our goal continues to be to send a clear message to Russia or others not to do this to us, because we can do stuff to you," Obama told reporters at his final press conference of 2016.

His comments came shortly after it was disclosed that the FBI agrees with the CIA's conclusions that Russia targeted Democrats with the aim of helping President-elect Donald Trump win on Nov. 8.

Obama promised that any U.S. retaliation against Russia would come "in a thoughtful, methodical way" that might be hidden from the U.S. public.

"Some of it we do publicly, some of it we will do in a way that they know but not everybody will," he said. "The message will be directly received by the Russians and not publicized."

Obama defended his response to Moscow's alleged intrusion, saying, "We handled it the way it should have been handled."
This pernicious Obama regime is doing everything it can to not give legitimacy to the American people's election decision. Obama truly is a Soros, anti-American plant. Wikileaks said their information did not come from the Russians, but Presidente Zero stays with a Russian hacking theory.

Over 50 soldiers arrested over alleged links to Gülenists
Over 50 high-ranking soldiers were arrested across Turkey on Dec.17 over alleged links to the U.S.-based Islamic preacher Fethullah Gülen, who is accused of masterminding the failed July 15 coup in Turkey, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

The Istanbul Court issued arrest warrants for 530 high-ranking soldiers, including 280 military officers and 250 sergeants early on Dec.17.

The Istanbul Public Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement later that 53 soldiers had been arrested so far, including 48 from the port city and five others from other provinces in the country. The Istanbul-based simultaneous operations are on the lookout for the rest of the suspects, some of whom used the ByLock messaging app that is said to be linked to the July 15 coup attempt.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
95 Detroit poll books missing for several days
Detroit elections officials waited several days to deliver nearly 100 poll books to Wayne County officials charged with certifying the presidential election, newly released documents show.

County clerk officials on Thursday released a memo to State Elections Director Chris Thomas that said 95 poll books from the 662 precincts weren’t available at the start of the canvass, which began the day after the Nov. 8 election. Five of those poll books, which contain the names of voters and ensure the integrity of elections, were never delivered to county canvassers and presumably remain missing.

Canvassers compare poll books with printouts from voting machines to ensure the number of people who signed in to vote match the number of ballots cast.

The revelation comes atop other irregularities that have prompted a state audit. Among other issues, The Detroit News reported this week that voting machines registered more votes than they should have in one-third of all city precincts.

“I’m not happy with how Detroit handled this election at all,” said Krista Hartounian, chairwoman of the Wayne County Board of Canvassers, which certified the election. “We had been seeing improvement, but this one was different. This one was off.”

Hartounian said Detroit officials were still delivering poll books to canvassers on the Friday and Saturday after the Tuesday election. By law, the canvassers have 14 days to certify general elections.

“The canvass was extremely pressed for time,” Hartounian said. “There was so much pressure. It was so tight, and Detroit was still delivering information until the very end.”

The memo from county elections official Jennifer Redmond to the state also shows poll books in 101 Detroit precincts were not delivered in sealed envelopes, as the law requires. Separate county documents obtained by The News show that poll books in 17 precincts were missing seal numbers from ballot boxes, as is required by state law.

Detroit Clerk Janice Winfrey and city elections director Daniel Baxter did not return several messages seeking comment.

Last week, Baxter placed much of the blame on what he called outdated, decade-old voting machines, saying 87 broke on Election Day. The city had a two-page ballot, and frequent jams led to inaccurate counts when workers failed to reset counters, he said.

A Detroit News analysis of statewide recount tallies, however, found other counties that used the same optical scanner performed just fine. In fact, the counties that used the machine, the Election Systems & Software M100, had fewer unrecountable precincts than those who used two other voting machines in Michigan.

The M100s, which are used in 55 percent of Michigan’s precincts, have a spotty reputation. In 2008, then-Oakland County Clerk Ruth Johnson, who is now secretary of state, urged federal officials to investigate after the optical scanners improperly counted 8 percent of ballots during testing. Gisgie Gendreau, a spokeswoman for Johnson’s office, said in an email the secretary of state is confident in the accuracy of the M100 voting machines used in Detroit and other parts of the state “assuming they are properly coded for the particular election.”

There were fewer than 30 machines that required Election Day maintenance, she said. The department pays for half of the maintenance costs in Detroit and other jurisdictions with electronic poll books.

State Rep. Fred Durhal III, D-Detroit, said the state “has a responsibility to take a closer look” at Detroit.

“If you have faulty equipment, it can definitely cause an issue in Detroit, because you’re counting more votes than any other city,” said Durhal, who pushed for more funding for new voting machines. “I don’t think fraud is involved, I want to make that clear, but I think we’ve got to get to the bottom of what happened.”

It’s unclear how many extra votes were counted in Detroit. That’s because tallies were off by five or more votes in 52 Detroit precincts, but county officials will not release the exact number of discrepancies in each precinct. The News has filed a Freedom of Information Act request for the information.

Indian businessman donates 90 homes to the poor as daughter’s wedding gift
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Instead of lavishly spending on his daughter’s wedding, a wealthy Indian businessman has parted with tradition and chosen to donate to the poor.

Ajay Munot, a wholesale trader of wheat and cloth in eastern India, has donated 90 houses to homeless people in an effort to help the region’s underprivileged, according to local news site Free Press Journal.

Munot gave the go ahead for the construction of 90 houses on two acres of land. He also chose the people who would be granted the new homes.

"Each home is 12 by 20 square foot ... It has two windows, two doors, light fitting and painted," the site reported.

Munot’s daughter has reportedly said she fully supports her father’s decision and labelled it the "biggest gift" on the occasion of her wedding.

Nineveh (IraqiNews.com) We Are Coming, Nineveh Operations Command announced on Friday killing 174 members of the Islamic State, while trying to attack security forces in the province, as well as detonating their booby-trapped vehicles.

Commander of the Operations, Lieutenant General Abdel Amir Yarallah, said in a press statement, “Federal Police troops continue searching and cleansing buildings and roads from explosive devices.”

“Terrorists tried to attack the villages of al-Arbaj and al-Azba, but our troops managed to kill 22 of them, in addition to detonating two booby-trapped vehicles,”Yarallah added.

Yarallah also revealed that troops of ‘We Are Coming, Nineveh’ Operations were able to advance into the neighborhoods of al-Intisar, Jadida al-Mofty, al-Salam, Younis al-Saba’wi and Falastine.

In addition, Yarallah pointed out that the Islamic State’s terrorists launched an attack on the neighborhoods of al-Intisar and al-Salam using suicide bombers and car bombs, but their attack was foiled by security troops who also detonated three car bombs and killed 27 terrorists.

Furthermore, Yarallah said that Counter-Terrorism forces managed to liberate the areas of al-Falah al-Oula, al-Falah al-Thaniyah and 40 other neighborhoods, and raised Iraqi flag over their buildings.

He added that security forces thwarted IS attempted attack on the areas of al-Nour and al-Bakr and detonated five booby-trapped vehicles, as well as killing 100 terrorists.

Three More Indicted over Harmanli Migrant Riots
[Iraq Sun] Bulgarian prosecuting authorities have indicted three migrants colonists on charges of hooliganism and obstruction to police.

The Harmani Regional Prosecutor's Office has taken the step in relation to the November 24 unrest at the Harmani migrant reception center in Southern Bulgaria, where hundreds of migrants colonists were hurt and hundreds were tossed in the clink
Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un!
The defendants are two Afghans and an Iraqi national. Two of them have been placed under a recognizance order, while the third one, who is still a minor, will be placed under the oversight of an agency working with child offenders, according to the prosecutors.

As many as eighteen other Afghan nationals have been indicted so far in relation to the riots.

The unrest broke out after nearly 3000 residents of the camp, until then operated without restriction to movement, were locked up by authorities due to Harmanli locals' concerns that many of them had severe skin diseases. The rumours were later fended off, with only a small percentage of the migrants colonists being infected with crabs scabies.

China-Japan-Koreas
N.Korea 'Conducts Land Test of Sub-Launched Missile'
North Korea early this month conducted a land test of a submarine-launched ballistic missile, Washington has confirmed according to Japanese media on Thursday. The test was reportedly aimed at perfecting cold-launch technology.

Cold launch is an advanced method of igniting the missile after it has been expelled from the water. The North probably conducted the test on land to improve the success rate.

In August, the North succeeded in extending the range of sub-launched missiles to an estimated 500 km.

Washington is stepping up surveillance because it fears that the North is close to deploying the missiles warfare-ready, NHK reported. Launches would be enormously difficult to detect and could happen close to South Korean waters, giving Seoul and Washington very little time to intercept the missiles.

Meanwhile, a North Korean submarine was destroyed in North Korean waters in April and 12 crewmembers on board killed, the Tokyo Shimbun reported. The cause is unknown.

But the North conducted an SLMB launch test shortly afterwards, suggesting that the sub broke up in the attempt to launch a missile. The daily quoted a North Korean official as saying, "People's lives are worthless in the eyes of Kim Jong-un. Nuclear weapons are much more important to him."

The South Korean military declined to confirm the report.

Europe
350,000 Migrants Arrived in EU this Year So Far
[AnNahar] The head of the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
border control agency says that about 350,000 migrants colonists have arrived in the EU so far this year.

Fabrice Leggeri, executive director of the Frontex border agency, was quoted Saturday by German daily Ruhr-Nachrichten as saying about 180,000 people arrived via The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
and the eastern Mediterranean, while 170,000 reached the continent across the central Mediterranean route from Libya and Egypt. That's a sharp decline from 2015, when more than 1 million people arrived.

Leggeri said a deal between the EU and Turkey reduced the number of migrants colonists coming from the East, but migration from northern Africa rose 30 percent.

The International Organization of Migration said last month that 4,636 people died on the Mediterranean this year, about 1,000 more than through this point last year.

More states confirm suspected cyberattacks sourced to DHS
[WSBTV] ATLANTA - Channel 2 Investigative Reporter Aaron Diamant has learned two more states’ election agencies have confirmed suspected cyberattacks linked to the same U.S. Department of Homeland Security IP address
One rogue employee or a bunch of 'em all using the same computer?
as last month’s massive attack in Georgia.
Rogue govt agencies. I think we voted against them.
The two states reporting the suspected cyberattacks were West Virginia and Kentucky.
More argument in favor of paper ballots and purple finger.
"We need somebody to dig down into this story and figure out exactly what happened," said Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp.

In the past week, the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office has confirmed 10 separate cyberattacks on its network over the past 10 months that were traced back to DHS addresses.

"We're being told something that they think they have it figured out, yet nobody's really showed us how this happened," Kemp said. "We need to know."

He says the new information from the two other states presents even more reason to be concerned.

"So now this just raises more questions that haven't been answered about this and continues to raise the alarms and concern that I have," Kemp said.

Through an open-records request, Diamant acquired the results of a survey Kemp asked the National Association of Secretaries of State to send to its members.

West Virginia wrote back, "This IP address did access our election night results on November 7, 2016." Kentucky responded the same IP address "did touch the KY (online voter registration) system on one occasion, 11/1/16."

In a letter this week, DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson told Kemp the department sourced the mid-November activity in Georgia to a federal contractor conducting what he called "normal" internet searches on the Secretary of State's website. But Kemp says there’s a problem with that answer.

"We haven't been able to recreate this the way they explained it to us," Kemp said.

Kemp also told Diamant that DHS has yet to explain at least nine other suspected network scans linked to DHS IP addresses over the last year on or around important primary and presidential election dates. Kemp's call for answers is amplified now by the National Association of Secretaries of State, or NASS.

"We have one administration leaving town and another coming in so it does remain to be seen just who will be left holding the bag if we don't get a great explanation on what has occurred very soon," said Kay Stimpson, with NASS.

Unsatisfied with the response he got from Johnson, Kemp fired off a letter Wednesday to loop in President-elect Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
. He is still awaiting a response.

"We just need to ask the new administration to take a look at this and make sure that we get the truth the people of Georgia are deserving to know that and really demanding it," Kemp said.

In an emailed statement the Kentucky Secretary of State's office told us it believes the IP address that sparked all this did not attack its system.

West Virginia's Secretary of State did not respond to our request for comment, neither did DHS.

E-2D Advanced Hawkeye completes first test flight
Marketing crap cut. Edited for length.
Northrop Grumman has successfully completed the first flight of an E-2D Advanced Hawkeye equipped with aerial refueling.

Under a 2013 engineering, manufacturing, and development (EMD) contract award, Northrop Grumman designed, developed, manufactured, and tested several sub-system upgrades necessary to accommodate an aerial refueling capability.

The aerial refueling capability will allow the E-2D to provide longer on-station times at greater ranges, extending its mission time to better support the warfighter. The upgrades installed to support aerial refueling include probe and associated piping, electrical and lighting upgrades, and long endurance seats that will enhance field of view in the cockpit and reduce fatigue over longer missions.

The aerial refueling program will modify three aircraft for testing planned through 2018. Production cut-in and retrofit plans are scheduled to begin in 2018.

Pasban leader granted bail in terror case

, with his son Mohammad Ali Siddiqui and others was booked at the Samanabad cop shoppe last year.

In a bail application moved through his counsel Mohammad Farooq, the suspect submitted that he was framed in the cases, because he had impleaded the Rangers and police as respondents in a petition filed before the high court for recovery of his son, Saad Siddiqui, who went missing in June 2015.

The prosecution, however, opposed the plea.

After hearing both sides, the ATC-II judge granted bail to the suspect against a surety bond of Rs500,000. The Pasban leader had already obtained bail in another case lodged against him along with former petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain and some other politicians for allegedly treating and harbouring suspected terrorists, political murderous Moslems and gangsters at Dr Asim’s hospitals.

The Rangers had picked up Usman Moazzam in August last year and kept him under 90-day preventive detention for inquiry. Later, the paramilitary force handed him over to police after the registration of a case against him at the Samanabad cop shoppe under Sections 11V (directing terrorist activities), 21J (harbouring any person who committed an offence under this act) and 7 (act of terrorism) of Anti-terrorism Act, 1997.

Eight suspects including Dr Akmal Waheed and Sabiha Shahid, widow of slain suspected Lion of Islam Shahid Khan alias Qari, were showed as absconders in the case.

Three More Charged over Nice Truck Attack, Woman Charged in Connection with Paris Girl Jihadis
[AnNahar] A French anti-terrorist judge has charged three more men suspected of helping to arm the Islamist radical who crushed 86 people to death with a truck in Nice, a judicial source said Saturday.

The three, who were among 11 locked away
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
on Monday in Nice and the western city of Nantes, were remanded into custody on Friday, said the source. The other eight have been released.

The three, aged 24, 31 and 36, were charged in relation to a terrorist plot.

The arrests come five months after Tunisian bully boy Mohammed Lahouaiej Bouhlel ploughed a 19-tonne truck into a crowd on the Nice seafront on July 14, Bastille Day. Over 400 people were maimed.

Six people have already been charged so far over alleged links to the 31-year-old killer but Sherlocks have yet to prove that any of them knew what he was planning.

They include an Albanian couple, Artan Henaj and Enkeledja Zace, and a French-Tunisian national, 21-year-old Ramzi Arefa, suspected of providing a pistol to the killer while not necessarily knowing what he was planning.

The three men charged Friday are linked to varying degrees to these suspects.

The 31-year-old, born in Tunisia, is suspected of being an intermediary between the Albanian couple and Arefa, said a source close to the investigation. The 24-year-old, born in Albania and a cousin of Henaj, is suspected of being implicated in a transaction over a Kalashnikov.

group moved quickly after the attack to claim Bouhlel as one of its followers.

Nearly six months after the Nice attack, Sherlocks are still trying to understand the killer's real motives.

"There is a combination of (Islamist) radicalisation, a fascination for extreme violence and a background of psychological problems," said a source close to the case.

Separately, an anti-terrorist judge charged a woman as part of a probe into a gang of female jihadists arrested after the discovery of gas cylinders packed in a car in Gay Paree in September, said a judicial source Saturday.

The 23-year-old, arrested Tuesday in Mantes-la-Jolie west of Gay Paree, was charged Friday in connection with the alleged plot, foiled after the potentially deadly car was left near Gay Paree's Notre Dame Cathedral on September 4.

13 soldiers killed, 56 wounded in attack in Kayseri
A total of 56 people were being treated in hospital after a car bomb attack on a bus in the central Turkish city of Kayseri on Dec.17, Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu said, an attack the military has said killed 13.

Soylu, who was speaking at a joint news conference with the health minister, said that 12 of the wounded were in intensive care and four were in critical condition. He did not give an update on the death toll.

Soylu also said seven suspects were detained in connection with Kayseri bombing, search under way for five others. "The terrorist was identified," Soylu added.

Health minister Recep Akdag told the news conference that a large number of the wounded were lightly injured.

The military earlier said that 13 soldiers were killed and 48 injured when a car bomb hit a bus transporting off-duty military personnel. The soldiers - all low-ranking privates and non-commissioned officers - had been given permission for leave from the commando headquarters in the city, it said in a statement. The wounded were being treated in hospital while there could also be additional civilian casualties, it added.

Turkey's Dogan News Agency had said the blast hit the bus as it drove past a car believed to be packed with explosives.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has been informed of the attack by the chief of staff General Hulusi Akar, Anadolu Agency said.

Kurdish issue-focused People’s Democratic Party (HDP) issued a statement following the attack, saying that HDP strongly condemned the attack.

Moreover, Kayseri Governor Süleyman Kamçı earlier said it was a suicide attack. “The car bomb was detonated by a suicide attacker,” Kamçı added.

Defence Minister Fikri Isik said on Twitter that Turkey would redouble its efforts to fight militancy. "We will fight these cowards with a national mobilisation," he said, without elaborating.

Meanwhile, Turkey’s media watchdog, the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK), imposed a temporary ban that includes live broadcast from the scene, footage taken from the time of the blast and afterwards, and images of bodies, the agency said in a statement.

An investigation to the attack is underway.

Material used in bomb attack in Kayseri is similar to Istanbul attacks

The materials used in a car bomb attack on a bus carrying off-duty military personnel in the central Turkish city of Kayseri on Dec.17 were similar to those used in a twin bombing last week in Istanbul, Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmuş said.

Kurtulmus made the comment in an interview with broadcaster NTV.

All signs so far indicate that the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) was behind a deadly bombing on a bus carrying Turkish soldiers that left at least 13 dead and dozens wounded, Kurtulmuş said.

"All indications at present point to the PKK. We have to take into account all possibilities but the signs at present point to the PKK," he added.

were attacked on Saturday.

The party’s office in Istanbul’s Beylikduzu district was attacked by a group of 30 to 40 people who broke down the door, smashed windows and started a fire.

Police and fire trucks were called to the scene.

In the Darica district of Kocaeli, an unidentified person or persons opened fire on HDP’s district office. The police were called to the scene. No injuries have been reported and it is believed the office was empty at the time of the attack, CNN Turk reported.

Kurdish media has also reported attacks on HDP offices in Ankara, Izmir, Canakkale, Hatay, and Erzincan.

The attacks come the same day at least 13 Turkish soldiers were killed and 56 maimed in a boom-mobileing in the central city of Kayseri.

No group has grabbed credit for the attack yet but in the hours after the bombing, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him...
said that "Turkey is under the threat of attacks by terrorist groups, especially the separatist terrorist organization which is trying to do its best to block Turkey’s progress," referring to the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK).

Erdogan has frequently accused HDP members of supporting the PKK. Many HDP MPs, including the two co-chairs, are facing terrorism charges.

Terror Networks
The Beatings Will Continue: Iraqi and Syrian Editions

ISIS bans pens and watches inside Mosul mosques

Nineveh (IraqiNews.com) A local source in Nineveh revealed, that the Islamic State deployed armed detachments at the gates of many mosques in some areas of Mosul, to prevent the entry of pens and watches with worshipers into mosques, Alsumaria News reported on Saturday.

The source told Alsumaria News, “Armed detachments belonging to the Islamic State were deployed before Jum’a (Friday) Prayer, at the gates of the mosques of the western side of Mosul.”

“The detachments rigorously inspected all worshipers, confiscated their pens and watches temporarily, before allowing them to enter the mosques,” the source explained.

“The Islamic State suspected that pens and watches might contain hidden cameras, after the videos recently published by the Intelligence Service about penetrating the terrorist group’s hideouts in Mosul,” the source further added.

ISIS abducts 43 for fleeing Kirkuk

Kirkuk (IraqiNews.com) The Islamic State abducted 43 civilians fleeing Hawija, southwest of Kirkuk, for leaving the land of caliphate, a local source told Alsumaria News in Saturday.

The source said in a statement, “Today, Islamic State’s militants abducted 43 civilians, who fled Hawija toward Kirkuk, from the area located between al-Riyad and Hamrin Mountains.”

“The abductees were taken to an unknown destination. The militants abducted the civilians for leaving the land of caliphate, as well as collaborating with other citizens, to help people leave IS-held areas toward Kirkuk and Salahuddin,” the source added.

Noteworthy, many areas in Kirkuk, including Zab, Abbasi, Riyad, Rashad and Hawija are still under the control of the Islamic state.

100s flee Palmyra as ISIS waltzes in

[ARA News] Homs –Hundreds of civilians have escaped the ancient Syrian city of Palmyra after the Islamic State’s (ISIS) militants took over the city last week.

More than 300 people have fled their homes in Palmyra over the past few days. “Most of them headed to the regime-held areas in Homs Governorate,” local media activist Abas al-Omar told ARA News.

“People of Palmyra are afraid of being used as human shields by ISIS,” the source said.

In the meantime, ISIS jihadists arrested four men in Palmyra on suspicion of helping residents escape the city.

Last Sunday, the ISIS hardline group recaptured the ancient city of Palmyra in Homs Governorate. Activists and military sources confirmed the rout, reporting that the army had been forced to withdraw under fire. The army withdrew after the clashes reached the city center and it became impossible for them to push ISIS back.

Russia had supported the Syrian Army in Palmyra, with airstrikes and logistical support but their efforts were apparently insufficient to save the city.

ISIS first took over Palmyra in May 2015, following a protracted battle with regime forces. The Islamic State’s occupation was exceptionally brutal, even by the standards of Syria’s 5-year-long conflict.

ISIS executes teen in Kirkuk for spying

[ARA News] Kirkuk – The Islamic State (ISIS) radical group has executed an Iraqi teenager in southern Kirkuk, after accusing him of spying for the Kurdish Peshmerga forces, local sources reported on Saturday.

The 15-year-old boy was arrested by ISIS militants earlier on Tuesday.

“The jihadist group claimed that after interrogations the teenager confessed that he has been spying for the Kurdish Peshmergas,” a local sources told ARA News, speaking on condition of anonymity. “They executed him by firing squad.”

Also, the pro-ISIS Amaq News Agency released a video tape showing the execution of the blindfolded young man, claiming he was “a spy for the pro-Crusaders Kurdish troops”.

This comes amid intensifying clashes between the Kurdish forces and ISIS militants in the southern suburb of Kirkuk Governorate, where the radical group still holds several villages.

The ISIS hardline group has recently executed dozens of people on similar charges in Syria and Iraq.

On November 4, the Islamic State’s militants executed and crucified a woman in Syria’s eastern Deir ez-Zor Governorate, after accusing her of spying for Kurdish forces, activists and eyewitnesses reported.

Asmaa Muhammad, 41, was arrested by the ISIS-led Islamic Police –also known as Diwan al-Hisba– in a village in Deir ez-Zor countryside under the pretext that she has communicated with the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG). Asmaa was shot dead and then crucified in a public square in central Deir ez-Zor. Hundreds of people witnessed the brutal execution. “Her body was covered with blood when they brutally crucified her. They banned the people from approaching the body,” an eyewitness told ARA News.

On September 18, ISIS militants executed five young men in Syria’s eastern Deir ez-Zor Governorate, after accusing them of ‘spying for enemies’. The ISIS-linked Hisba Police raided the town of al-Tarif west of Deir ez-Zor and arrested five men on suspicion of spying for rival groups.

The Sharia Court ordered the execution of the five civilians on charges of “treason” against the ISIS self-declared Caliphate. “They were accused of spying on behalf of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces,” media activist Issam al-Hamid told ARA News in Deir ez-Zor.

On October 13, ISIS extremists beheaded seven civilians in the city of Mosul, after accusing them of spying for the Iraqi Army. Local sources told ARA News that the ISIS-led Islamic Police arrested seven men earlier on Wednesday. The men were accused of leaking information about the group’s deployments in Mosul city.

“The arrested men were charged with treason, apostasy and spying for hostile troops,” local media activist Abdullah al-Malla told ARA News. “They were beheaded in front of hundreds of people in central Mosul.”

On September 22, ISIS burned six civilians to death in the city of Mosul in Iraq’s northwestern Nineveh Governorate, after accusing them of ‘spying’.

The ISIS-led Islamic Police, also known as al-Hisba, arrested six young men in Mosul city. The ISIS leadership then accused them of leaking security information about the group’s movements in Mosul to the Kurdish Peshmerga army and US-led coalition. The Sharia Court of Mosul said in a statement that after “interrogations” the suspects “confessed to have been cooperating with the Peshmerga and the crusader coalition” against the so-called Caliphate.

“The Sharia Court called for the most brutal punishment for those six young men. ISIS militants burned them to death in public on Thursday evening [Sept. 22],” local media activist Abdullah al-Malla told ARA News. “Hundreds of people witnessed the execution. Also, the victims’ families were forced to watch their sons being burned to death.”

Britain
Muslim cleric banned in Pakistan is preaching in UK mosques
A Pakistani Muslim cleric who celebrated the murder of a popular politician is in Britain on a speaking tour of mosques. The news has alarmed social cohesion experts who fear such tours are promoting divisions in the Muslim community.

Syed Muzaffar Shah Qadri has been banned from preaching in Pakistan because his sermons are considered too incendiary. However, he is due to visit a number of English mosques, in heavily promoted events where he is given star billing.
Apparently he eats well at all of them...
Qadri publicly praises Mumtaz Qadri who in 2011 murdered his employer, Salman Taseer, a popular Pakistani politician who spoke out against the country’s blasphemy laws. Qadri was executed earlier this year but to his tens of thousands of supporters he remains a hero who defended their interpretation of Islam.

Mumtaz Qadri was a key influence on Tanveer Ahmed, the Bradford taxi driver who in March stabbed to death Asad Shah. Shah, a member of the Ahmadi Muslim community who ran a convenience shop in Glasgow, was targeted after messages he put out on social media including an Easter greeting to Christians.

His was one of several recent high profile murders in which a Muslim from one community was killed by a Muslim from another community for holding what they considered to be “blasphemous” views. In February, a former Sufi imam in Rochdale was murdered by two Islamic State supporters whom they claimed was practising “black magic”. In May, a Sufi Muslim leader was hacked to death near the north Bangladeshi town of Rajshahi in what police said was an attack by Islamic extremists.

Qadri, considered by many scholars to hold moderate views except on blasphemy, was due to speak at the Falkirk Central mosque in Scotland, but his invitation was withdrawn after a public outcry. However, the Observer has established that he is due to appear at several mosques in England.

The Sunday Post in Scotland reported that Qadri has been labelled a “firebrand” by the authorities in Karachi and barred from preaching his incendiary sermons. He was accused of acting in a manner “prejudicial to public safety and maintenance of public order”. He was banned from addressing crowds in October, according to a legal document seen by the Post.

Video footage on social media sites shows Qadri telling crowds that the killing of Taseer was lawful.

Irfan al-Alawi, international director at the Centre for Islamic Pluralism, a US think tank, said Qadri received large sums of money for his UK tour and accused him of increasing tensions among different Muslim sects.

“Syed Muzaffar Shah Qadri and the likes of him should not be allowed to enter the UK or Europe because he incites hatred and he claims to be a Sufi, but the message of Sufism is love all and hate none,” Alawi said.

“The Sunni Muslims do not need Pakistani or Indian imams to enter the UK and preach hatred. Just as Zakir Naik was banned, the government should be hard on these preachers of hate and also with the people and mosques which invite them.”

Naik was an extremist Islamist preacher barred from preaching in the UK by Theresa May, when she was the home secretary, in 2011.

Flyers promoting Qadri’s appearances in the UK, obtained by the Observer, confirm that he is due to preach on Sunday in Leicester, in Woking on Boxing Day and in Bolton on New Year’s Eve. It is believed he will also make appearances at other mosques.

None of the three mosques responded to requests for comment.

Haras Rafiq, chief executive of the Quilliam Foundation, said Qadri was the type of preacher who presented new challenges for promoting cohesion in Britain’s Muslim community.

“These are people who may not be extremist in the way that we know Isis or Boko Haram are extremist,” Rafiq said. “But when they apply the blasphemy law to justify the killing of other Muslims for not being the right Muslims then we have a huge challenge. Anybody who supports the murder of another person is dangerous.”

A Home Office spokeswoman said: “We do not routinely comment on individual cases.”

Taliban, Haqqani network leaders freely operates in Pakistan: Pentagon
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The top leaders of the Taliban group and the notorious Haqqani terrorist network are still freely operating from their safe havens in Pakistain, Pentagon said in its latest report.

"Afghan-oriented murderous Moslem groups, including Taliban and Haqqani Network big shotship, retain freedom of action from safe havens inside Pak territory," Pentagon said in a report provided to congress.

Thee report "Enhancing Security and Stability in Afghanistan", further added that "the United States continues to be clear with Pakistain about steps it should take to improve the security environment and deny safe havens to terrorist and murderous Moslem groups."

The report said Afghanistan faces a continuing threat from both the Afghan insurgency and murderous Moslem networks, including the Taliban, the Haqqani Network, and to a lesser extent al Qaeda, and other bully boy and murderous Moslem groups, which continue to attempt to reassert their authority and prominence.

"These pervasive bully boy, terrorist, and criminal networks constitute a threat to Afghanistan’s stability. Revenue from opium trafficking continues to sustain the insurgency and Afghan criminal networks. Additionally, extortion and kidnappings by low-level criminal networks have increased in some areas of Afghanistan. The Afghanistan-Pakistain border region remains a sanctuary for various groups. These include the Taliban, al Qaeda, AQIS, the Haqqani Network, Lashkar-e-Taiba
...the Army of the Pure, an Ahl-e-Hadith terror organization founded by Hafiz Saeed. , Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain (TTP), ISIS-K, and the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan. This sanctuary and these groups remain a security challenge for both countries and pose a threat to regional stability and security," the report added.

According to the report, the Afghan Government’s relationship with Pakistain remains a critical aspect of enhancing security and stability in Afghanistan, adding that "Since the beginning of President Ghani’s tenure, leaders from both countries have generally made a concerted effort to improve relations and better address mutual security interests, such as the threat from various murderous Moslem groups that reside in the Afghanistan-Pakistain border region."

Pentagon said Afghanistan-Pakistain relations deteriorated following a major Haqqani Network attack against a National Directorate of Security

it added that Afghanistan and Pakistain have taken cautious steps toward improving the bilateral relationship.

"Multiple high-level engagements have produced efforts to deescalate border tensions, attempts to advance political reconciliation talks between the Afghan Government and the Taliban, and fostered greater military-to-military cooperation," the report said.

Turkey to set up camp for 80,000 Aleppo evacuees
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
plans to set up a camp inside Syria to host people evacuated from the city of Aleppo but will continue to take the sick and maimed to Turkish hospitals, officials said on Friday.

Two potential sites, around 3.5 km (2 miles) inside Syria, have been identified for a camp with the capacity to host up to 80,000 people, two bigwigs told Rooters.

"Work on the infrastructure for the camp will begin shortly," another official from the Turkish aid organization IHH said by phone from inside Syria. The camp will be jointly set up by the Turkish Red Islamic Thingy, disaster agency AFAD and IHH.

The IHH official said evacuees had so far largely found shelter with relatives in and around Syria’s Idlib province, southwest of Aleppo, but added that work to identify those with nowhere to go was under way.

Some arrived on Friday at a clinic in Syria close to the Turkish border gate of Cilvegozu where they were tended to by Turkish aid workers, video footage obtained by Rooters showed.

"We were bombed by a plane," said one man, his head and arm bandaged, lying on a bed hugging his young son.

"All my family were killed and all I have left is him and a daughter," he said. He had been told his daughter had been brought to Turkey but did not know her condition or whereabouts.

Turkey has taken in 55 maimed or sick evacuees, according to Hasan Aydinlik, head of an emergency response division of the Turkish Health Ministry. He told news hounds at the Cilvegozu crossing that one of the maimed had died in hospital while four people, including a child, were at death's door.

The evacuation of the last opposition-held areas of Aleppo was suspended on Friday after pro-government militias demanded that maimed people should also be brought out of two Shi’ite Moslem villages being besieged by rebels.

Turkey says that close to 8,000 people - rebels and civilians - have been evacuated under a ceasefire deal it brokered with Russia.

Turkey is already sheltering around 2.7 million Syrian refugees. An aid official with Syrian NGO Shafak, working on the Aleppo evacuation, said he expected more people to head for the Turkish border as the villages west of Aleppo were now full.

Aleppo was divided between government and rebel areas of control for much of the nearly six-year-old civil war. But a lightning advance by the Syrian army and its allies that began in mid-November saw the snuffies lose most of their territory.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Hamas blames Israel for killing its drone expert in Tunisia, vows revenge
[IsraelTimes] Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, on Saturday evening blamed Israel for Thursday’s killing of Mohammed al-Zoari, a Tunisian aviation scientist and engineer who developed the terror groups unmanned drones, and vowed Dire Revenge.

Accusing Israel of the liquidation, Hamas’s military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, said Zoari’s death constituted an attack on it, and that "his blood will not be spilled in vain," Army Radio reported. It said he had "acted against Israel, in the defense of Paleostine."

Earlier on Saturday, Hamas officials confirmed Zoari, 59, was a central figure in its weapons manufacture, calling him a pioneer in developing its unmanned drones.

Hamas said Zoari had been a member of its military wing for the past 10 years. It published a poster showing Zoari with an unmanned drone in what appeared to be a training session. The poster bore the logo of Hamas’s military wing and referred to Zoari as a commander.

Tunisian newspapers rushed Friday to blame Mossad for the killing of Zoari -- who was rubbed out at point-blank range in his car outside his home in the Tunisian city of Sfax.

According to Channel 10, a senior Tunisian journalist said Mossad had been tracking Zoari for quite some time, and was responsible for his liquidation.

Zoari was an aviation engineer who specialized in unmanned aircraft. He was also affiliated with the Moslem Brüderbund in Tunisia, known to be rivals of the local government. His ties to the group compelled him to leave for Syria in 1991, only returning after the overthrow of former Tunisian president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali in 2011. (Tunisia’s Brotherhood-inspired Ennahda Movement issued a statement of condemnation and mourning after Zoari’s killing.) Zoari is known to have instructed would-be drone pilots near his home in the southern city.

Channel 2 on Friday showed footage of Zoari working on what appeared to be small drones.

A senior court official in Sfax, Murad a-Turki, said police had found two pistols, silencers and four cars apparently used in the killing.

"According to our initial investigation, we found a connection to other elements who are now outside the country," he said.

An associate of Zoari, Karim Abed a-Salam, told Tunisia’s Channel 9 TV that Zoari had visited the Gazoo Strip several times in recent years, entering through the tunnels that run under the Gazoo-Egypt border. He said that Zoari served as a liaison between Hamas and the Iranian and Syrian governments. It was not immediately clear whether there was any truth to these claims.

The Lebanese al-Akhbar newspaper reported Saturday that Zoari had also assisted Lebanese terror group Hezbollah in the development of drone technology.

The Mossad has been accused in the past of eliminating those who supply Paleostinian and Lebanese terror groups with advanced technology, as well as having assassinated Iranian nuclear scientists.

The most high-profile case was the death of Hassan Lakkis, who was the head of Hezbollah’s weapons research and development. He was shot and killed south of Beirut in 2013. Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah blamed Israel, but Jerusalem denied any involvement.

Tunisia, as of Saturday evening, had not pointed a finger of blame at Israel.
Legal Insurrection adds this, from their round-up of a variety of sources:
Al-Akhbar stated explicitly that the Mossad was behind the killing, adding that Zawahri was killed after returning to Tunisia from a short visit to Lebanon and Turkey. The report said the Israeli espionage agency may have had ties to a woman who contacted Zawahri seeking an interview with him, claiming to be a Tunisian journalist living in Hungary. The woman reportedly disappeared a day before the killing.
Update at 1:00 a.m.: The Jerusalem Post is skeptical that Mossad dunnit.

The sun must set on military courts
[DAWN] AS the fallout from Justice Qazi Faez Isa’s report continues and governments, federal and provincial, struggle to explain their inaction, there has been yet another manifestation of the collective failure of the state. On Friday, newly installed army chief Gen Qamar Bajwa signed off on what may be one of the final orders upholding death sentences for terrorism offences handed down by military courts set up under the 21st Amendment. The 13 latest confirmed death sentences means that over 150 individuals have been condemned to die by military courts since their creation in January 2014. With the sunset clause of the 21st Amendment set to take effect early next month, a stark choice awaits the country’s elected representatives: contemplate an extension to the life of the military courts and in doing so further perpetuate the gross distortions to the Constitution and justice system in the country, or, at long last and however belatedly, take up the issue of criminal justice reform.

The preferred option for parliament may well be the option utilised in the case of extreme detention powers and special courts created under the Protection of Pakistain Act, 2014: when that law expired in July, parliament simply opted to do nothing. Pending cases in the special courts have been transferred to anti-terrorism courts and there appears to be no appetite in parliament to give security forces further special powers to detain individuals for prolonged periods. The do-nothing option may seem palatable in a distorted system; after all, when controversial laws expire and their controversial powers no longer exist, the state cannot rely on them to perpetrate unjustness. So, if military courts under the 21st Amendment cease to exist on Jan 7, an opaque and indefensible system of so-called justice will stand dismantled and army chiefs will no longer have the authority to confirm death sentences handed down by those courts. But the do-nothing option is, in fact, deeply problematic. It is the lack of justice system reforms that makes possible the creation of abominations such as military courts in the first place. If no reforms are attempted, the demand for ad hoc systems of justice will invariably be mooted.

Justice system reforms are not easy, but neither are they as hard as they are made out to be. Under its chairman Raza Rabbani, the Senate is trying to nudge parliament to take up the matter of terrorism-related legal reforms. Two bills covering anti-terrorism and protection of witnesses passed by the Senate should be taken up by the National Assembly -- and the sooner it is done, the better. As Mr Rabbani has warned, a legal vacuum may appear on Jan 7. And if history is any guide, dealing hastily with vacuums or emergencies tends to create further problems. Judicial reforms must be undertaken in a determined, but measured way.

Afghanistan
Bad Guys execute Afghan Golden Throat in Logar
Unknown armed men on Thursday gunned down radio journalist Qazi Mohammad Nasir Mudasir, the editor-in-chief of local Radio Paigham in Logar province.

Mudasir was on his way home from Mohammad Agha district in the province when gunmen stopped his car and killed him on the spot, local officials said.

NAI—an organization supporting open media in Afghanistan - has warned that cases of violence against journalists have dramatically increased in recent months. They called on government to take initiatives to better protect journalists.

In addition to this, Saleem Saleh, a spokesman for the provincial governor, has said that the Taliban pulled Mudasir from his car and executed him on the side of the road – an allegation the insurgency group has denied.

Referring to government’s responsibility toward the security of journalists, NAI has called on the Afghan government to deliver on its promises toward safeguarding the lives of journalists.

According to NAI, the killing of Mudasir raises the number of journalists killed in the country during the current year to 14 – up from five last year.

Up to 85 cases of violence against journalists were recorded last year, while this year it was about 420 cases, NAI said.

“Our demand from President (Ashraf) Ghani and (CEO Abdullah) Abdullah is to show their commitments toward freedom of press, they should personally investigate the case of Mr. Mudasir so that we can trust that press activities in the country moves in the right direction, but the current circumstances indicate that we are moving toward a perilous geography for journalists,” said chairman NAI Mujeeb Khelwatgar.

Meanwhile, civil society activists and journalists in Logar have said that Mudasir had no sort of rivalry or enmity with anybody in the area. They have called for a full inquiry into the killing.

“I knew Mr. Mudasir for the past seven years, he was a noble and innocent man. But the issue is that we have some problems in Logar and sometimes it is publically announced from the mosques that war against the journalists and government is legitimate,” said civil society activist Bashir Darez.

Two years ago, Mudasir’s brother was also killed in a mysterious way.

“Once Mudasir was taken by ISAF and once by the NDS forces for investigation, but they got nothing from him and released him. Mudasir was a good man and all young journalists in Logar had attended his class,” said a radio journalist in Logar Matiullah Sarwari.

Qazi Mohammad Nasir Mudasir was 55 years old and had worked in the media for over 25 years.

He was also known as a mentor to local journalists in Logar.

Mudasir is survived by four sons and two daughters.

#5  'Twas Inaugural Eve, when all through the land
Not a creature was stirring, not woman nor man
The bunting was hung by the platform with care
In hopes that the President soon would be there

Adult babies were nestled all snug in their safe spots
While visions of peppermint lattes danced through their thoughts
And mamma in her kerchief, and I in my bare feet
Had just settled on the couch to write up some Tweets

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter
I sprang from the couch to see what was the matter
Away to the window I flew like a flash
Tore open the designer window treatments and threw up the sash

The moon on the crest of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of midday to objects below
When what should my wondering eyeballs now view
But a nondescript van with a medical crew

With a little old lady so wrinkled with sag
I knew in a moment she must be The Hag
More rapid than eagles her minions they came
And she cackled, and wheezed, and called them by name

"Now Weiner! McAuliffe! Podesta and Mills!
On Huma! Palmieri! On Chelsea and Bill!
To the top of the platform on the Washington Mall
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"

As leaves that before the wild hurricane fly
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky
So up to the Capitol her minions they flew
With the van full of medication, and Saint Hillary too

And then, in a twinkling, I heard a guffaw
The grasping and clinging of each grubby paw
As I drew in my head, set for taking my lumps
Down the stairway St. Hillary came with a thump

She was dressed in polyester, from her head to her foot
And her clothes were all draped like a baggy Mao suit
An enemies list she had stashed in her pants
And she looked like a homeless guy starting a rant

Her eyes-how they wandered! Gone wild with strabismus!
She kept sticking her nose into everyone's business
Her droll little mouth was drawn back in a sneer
And the chin whiskers bleached, until they were clear

A bottle of vodka was clutched in her fist
And the vapors encircled her head like a mist
She had a harsh laugh and a fake Southern drawl
She warn't no ways tahrred, in spite of it all

She was chubby and plump, a right nasty old elf
And I laughed when I saw her, in spite of myself
A three-hundred-sixty degree twist of her head
Soon gave me to know I had something to dread

She spoke not a word, but went straight to her work
Emptied everyone's stockings; called me "Deplorable jerk!"
Then mashing the throttle right down to the floor
Her Hoveround rose up the stairway once more

She lurched toward her van, her team gave her a boost
And away they all flew like the down of a goose
But they heard me exclaim, ere they drove out of sight-

"Happy Christmas to all! She's not President tonight!"

#6  What is surprising is that I remembered her as being rather buxom, as in the teen age boy fantasy realm. In this pic, her endowments seem less impressive, at least in comparison with those less modestly displayed these days.

Maine Gas Distributor Won't Deliver to Trump Supporters
"An owner of a propane dealership in Maine is refusing to deliver gas to anyone who voted for President-elect Donald Trump.

Michael Turner, owner of Turner LP Gas in Skowhegan, Maine, recorded a voice mail greeting that leaves little question as to his feelings for those in his community who supported Trump.

'Thank you for calling Turner LP gas. If you voted for Donald Trump for president I will no longer be delivering your gas ‐ please find someone else,' the message states."

Heimlich of the Heimlich Maneuver Dies at 96
CINCINNATI; The surgeon who created the life-saving Heimlich maneuver for choking victims has died.

Dr. Henry Heimlich died early Saturday at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. He was 96. His son, Phil, says he suffered a heart attack earlier in the week.

Heimlich was director of surgery at Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati in 1974 when he devised the treatment for choking victims that made his name a household word.

Rescuers using the procedure abruptly squeeze a victim's abdomen, pushing in and above the navel with the fist to create a flow of air from the lungs. That flow of air then can push objects out of the windpipe and prevent suffocation.

The Wilmington, Delaware, native estimated the maneuver had saved the lives of thousands of choking victims in the United States alone.
But you gotta know how to do it right. A young body builder guy was choking in a cafeteria and several people tried the maneuver and failed. As the victim was about to pass out from lack of oxygen, I got behind him and slammed both of my fists above his navel like I was in a fist fight trying to knock the wind out of someone, and a big piece of roast beef went flying through the air from his throat. He lived. Don't be gentle when using the maneuver to save a life.

#2  I was in a writing group with his wife, Jane Murray Heimlich, who died a few years ago. She was a quiet soul whose writing touched the core of things -- exactly not what one would expect from one of the twin daughters of Arthur Murray, the ballroom dance king.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
25 ISIL militants 'neutralized' in Syria
A total of 25 Islamic State Iraq and Levant (ISIL) millitants were "neutralized" in northern Syria as part of Operation Euphrates Shield, the Turkish military said on Dec.17.

The Turkish Armed Forces said in a statement that 206 ISIL targets were destroyed. The targets included defensive positions, as well as command-and-control facilities, the statement added.

Turkish authorities often use the word “neutralized” to imply militants who have been captured or killed.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
White House, Clinton Tied To PR Firm Behind Electoral College Push
[DAILYCALLER] The public relations firm working behind the scenes with the faithless electors is rife with ties to prominent Democrats like President B.O. and twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton
... former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, sometimes described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as a crook...
Megaphone Strategies, whose stated mission is to "use PR as a tool to diversify progressive movements," typically works with progressive causes like Black Lives Matter. The firm is representing the handful of "faithless electors" trying to keep President-elect Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
from winning the Electoral College vote.

The firm was co-founded by Van Jones, the former green jobs czar in the Obama White House who later resigned after it was revealed he signed a statement questioning whether the Bush administration had a role in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Jones now works as a CNN commentator.

#3  I'm not generally paranoid but the amount of $hit going on about the election results does have me a trifle concerned.

Could these criminal tyrant wannabes wind up triggering Civil War II? Most of me says no way, but there's that niggling doubt when all the various pieces start to add up. (see also DHS hacking states)

#5  What I am wondering is what will they do when the electors choose Trump.

Most will whine and run to their safe-space. But some (Obama, Clinton, MSM,,,) will plot what they can do next.

Possibly try to declare the election void due to 'Russian Hacking'? they've been preparing that for months. And Obama is arrogant enough to think he has the authority.

yeah... time to adjust the tinfoil hat...
