Halftime Show Used Drones to Make American Flag
It's probably the first time you've seen 300 drones flying in formation, but it's almost certainly not the last.

Each drone is about a foot long square, weighs just over eight ounces, and sports a plastic and foam body to soften inadvertent impacts. They aren't as flashy as consumer quadcopters, which is just as well, because you're not supposed to notice them. Instead, you're supposed to notice the four billion color combinations created by the onboard LEDs, and the aerial acrobatics choreographed with meticulous coding.
Just got a glance at the flag (photo at link) but it was pretty slick.

Trump Almost Perfectly Predicts Super Bowl Score
President Trump almost perfectly predicted the Super Bowl outcome.

During his pre-Super Bowl interview with Fox News's Bill O'Reilly, Trump predicted the New England Patriots would win.

"By how many points?" O'Reilly asked.

"By eight points," Trump replied.

The final outcome -- which for the first Super Bowl was decided in a sudden death overtime -- was Patriots 34, the Falcons 28.

Here's the full exchange:

O'REILLY: "Fox Sports is demanding that I ask you to make a prediction."

TRUMP: "Well I hate to make predictions."

REILLY: "But you have to."

TRUMP: "But I hate to do it. But I'll say --"

O'REILY: "-- Because I won't leave unless you do."

TRUMP: "I'll say -- I don't know, what are the odds? I guess it's pretty even, right? Two great teams."

O'REILLY: "Yeah."

TRUMP: "I'll say the Patriots will win."

O'REILLY: "By how many points?"

TRUMP: "By eight points."

O'REILLY: "That's a good presidential prediction."

TRUMP: "I shouldn't be doing those things but that's OK."

O'REILLY: "And you don't need any data."

TRUMP: "I need no data.
Aaaand with that, given their reaction to everything else, liberal heads around the world are probably exploding by the millions.

Petraeus lectures on ‘Moral Obligations'
[Free Beacon] Retired Gen. David Petraeus said Friday that the United States has a "moral obligation" to provide local translators who have aided the U.S. military abroad a path to the United States.

"There is an implicit moral obligation to those who share risk," Petraeus, a former CIA director, said at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, D.C. on Friday afternoon. "It's very important for the future as well."

Petraeus made the remarks on the Special Immigrant Visa program for local translators in Iraq and Afghanistan who have aided the U.S. military amidst backlash over President Donald Trump's executive order on immigration.

The order, unveiled last week, bars immigrants from seven Muslim-majority nations from entering the United States for at least 90 days. It immediately sparked outrage and confusion, particularly over whether it applied to individuals with green cards or special immigrant visas.

The Department of Homeland Security said Tuesday that translators and interpreters who hold special immigrant visas would be exempt from the ban. The Pentagon welcomed that development on Thursday.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran: Uranium shipment will give us 60% more than pre-deal
[IsraelTimes] Size of stockpile significant should Tehran keep it in storage until terms of agreement expire.

Iran’s nuclear chief said it would have 60 percent more stockpiled uranium than it did prior to its landmark 2015 agreement with world powers after a shipment expected later this week.

Ali Akbar Salehi was quoted by the semi-official Fars news agency on Sunday as saying that Iran would receive a final batch of 149 tons of natural uranium by Tuesday, in addition to 210 tons already delivered since early 2016.

The huge shipment of natural uranium from Russia was to compensate it for exporting tons of reactor coolant, diplomats said earlier this month, in a move approved by the outgoing US administration and other governments seeking to keep Tehran committed to a landmark nuclear pact.

Uranium can be enriched to levels ranging from reactor fuel or medical and research purposes to the core of an atomic bomb. Iran says it has no interest in such weapons and its activities are being closely monitored under the nuclear pact to make sure they remain peaceful.

Under the nuclear accord, Iran’s import of uranium is supervised by the ineffective International Atomic Energy Agency.

Iran agreed to curb enrichment and place its nuclear program under international surveillance in exchange for the lifting of sanctions.

Diplomats said Tehran has not said what it would do with the uranium but could choose to store it or turn it into low-enriched uranium and then export it for use as reactor fuel.

Despite present restrictions on its enrichment program, the amount of natural uranium is significant should Iran decide to keep it in storage, considering its potential uses once some limits on Tehran’s nuclear activities start to expire in less than a decade.

David Albright, whose Institute of Science and International Security often briefs US politicians on Iran’s nuclear program, said earlier this month the shipment could be enriched to enough weapons-grade uranium for more than 10 simple nuclear bombs, "depending on the efficiency of the enrichment process and the design of the nuclear weapon."

The swap is in compensation for the 70 metric tons (77 tons) of heavy water exported by Iran to the United States, Russia and Oman since the nuclear agreement went into effect.

Heavy water is used to cool a type of reactor that produces more plutonium than reactors cooled by light water. Like enriched uranium, plutonium can be turned into the fissile core of a nuclear weapon.

House Intelligence, Foreign Affairs Committee Members Compromised By Rogue IT Staff
[Daily Caller] Three brothers who managed office information technology for members of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and other lawmakers were abruptly relieved of their duties on suspicion that they accessed congressional computers without permission.
These lads all have access, security clearances ?
More likely, given that the Representatives' offices hired them, it'd be 'Public Trust'. Then again, Members of Congress themselves don't need a security clearance to see classified information. Some could never get a clearance.

Brothers Abid, Imran, and Jamal Awan were barred from computer networks at the House of Representatives Thursday, The Daily Caller News Foundation Investigative Group has learned.

Three members of the intelligence panel and five members of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs were among the dozens of members who employed the suspects on a shared basis. The two committees deal with many of the nation’s most sensitive issues and documents, including those related to the war on terrorism.

Jamal handled IT for Rep. Joaquin Castro, a Texas Democrat who serves on both the intelligence and foreign affairs panels. Jamal also worked for Louisiana Democrat Rep. Cedric Richmond, who is on the Committee on Homeland Security.

Imran worked for Reps. Andre Carson, an Indiana Democrat, and Jackie Speier, a California Democrat. Both are members of the intelligence committee, and their spokesmen did not respond to TheDCNF’s requests for comment. Imran also worked for the House office of Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the Florida Democrat who was previously the target of a disastrous email hack when she served as chairman of the Democratic National Committee during the 2016 campaign.

Then-Rep. Tammy Duckworth, an Illinois Democrat, employed Abid for IT work in 2016. She was a member of House committees dealing with the armed services, oversight, and Benghazi. Duckworth was elected to the Senate in November, 2016. Abid has a prior criminal record and a bankruptcy. Abid also worked for Rep. Lois Frankel, a Florida Democrat who is member of the foreign affairs committee.

The brothers are suspected of serious violations, including accessing members’ computer networks without their knowledge and stealing equipment from Congress.

A criminal investigation into five unnamed people began late last year related to serious and potentially illegal violations of House IT policies, Politico reported Thursday. Chiefs of staff for the members were briefed Thursday by the Sergeant-at-Arms. Capitol Police spokeswoman Eva Malecki said the investigation was still ongoing, and arrests have not been made but staff were “asked to update their security settings.”

Jack Langer, spokesman for the intelligence committee, said the committee office has its own IT staff and security measures and classified information from the panel is not allowed to be sent to members’ personal offices.
All we know just how well these prohibition are enforced at Foggy Bottom don't we.

Iraq
Diverse communities in east Mosul find shared history in ancient shrine
[RUDAW.NET] For many residents in the newly liberated eastern districts of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
, the half-demolished shrine of the prophet Nabi Younis is a reminder of a more harmonious time.

On July 2014, one of the first actions that the Islamic gunnies carried out when they arrived in Mosul was the demolition of the shrine highly revered by Moslems, Christians and Yezidis for many centuries.

The Nabi Younis shrine was built on the reputed burial site of a prophet known in the Koran as Yunus and in the Bible as Jonah dating back to the 8th century BC. It was one of more than 30 shrines, as well as 15 Shiite husseiniyas and mosques, levelled in and around Mosul.

Demographically, the eastern parts of the city are notably different from other more Sunni inhabited neighborhoods. Districts around the Nabi Younis shrine include intertwined communities of Shiites, Sunnis, Yezidis, Christians, Turkmen and Kurds who have shared the area in peace for countless generations.

Many of the families here have established deep relations with other ethnic groups often through marriages and kinship over the past years. It would be a difficult task to make out different nationalities or faiths among residents here merely by their appearance or language.

"I wear Arabic clothes, but I am Kurdish. Here ethnicity and faiths have no divisive
...politicians call things divisive when when the other side sez something they don't like. Their own statements are never divisive, they're principled...
power. The Shiite and Sunnis have no problem with one another, the problem is merely politics, not us," said Abu Shirin a Kurdish resident of Nabi Younis neighbourhood wearing a traditional Arabic outfit.

"The Kurds were more repressed in the past when Saddam was in power," said Bahzad, a Kurdish vendor, referring to the former Iraqi ruler. "But ISIS made no distinction. It killed every one, Kurds, non-Kurds," he continued.

The Iraqi government has said it will dedicate a budget to rebuild the religious sites destroyed by ISIS around the country. Although for many residents in Mosul, the priority is security and the resumption of basic services like running water and electricity.

"We will earn our livelihood anyway possible, but we can’t do that if we have no security or lack running water," said Malik, a construction worker making 25,000 dinars ($20) a day rebuilding destroyed homes.

"That’s what we need; water, electricity and some security," he added.

India-Pakistan
Outsourcing justice
[DAWN] BY passing a bill that gives legal and constitutional cover to the jirga and panchayat system of dispute resolution, the National Assembly has only highlighted its own weaknesses. The non-serious approach to the matter must also be criticised: only 23 members of the house were present, and none of them pointed out the lack of quorum, allowing the crucial responsibility of administering justice to be outsourced to some of the most regressive elements in society. It may be true that the jirga and panchayat system has existed in the country for centuries, but that does not mean it should be handed the responsibility to administer justice, even in supposedly minor cases. Over the years, this system has given us heinous ’judgements’, supposedly endorsed by ’tradition’, such as vani where maidens are forcibly married off in order to settle disputes or enmities. If the law minister, who introduced the bill, thinks that the provision of attaching ’neutral arbitrators’ to each case is sufficient to ensure that the verdicts pronounced will be in accordance with the law and fundamental rights, and will protect the rights of women, then it can reasonably be assumed that he is washing his hands of the responsibility of providing justice to the common citizens of this land.

If the government wants to bring in alternate dispute resolution mechanisms to help reduce the caseloads in the courts, which is the language in which it is justifying the passage of this controversial bill, then an option already exists in the form of the office of the federal and provincial ombudsman. That office can be strengthened and expanded to perform dispute resolution functions in the 23 different offences applicable in the jirga and panchayat bill. This way dispute resolution will remain the responsibility of the government while minor issues can be settled quickly in accordance with the rules and principles the state is obligated to uphold. If it can find ’neutral arbitrators’ for jirgas and panchayats then surely it can find the personnel to staff the office of the ombudsman at the union council level too.

No assurance given by the law minister regarding the protection of the rights of women under a jirga and panchayat system should be entertained. The politicians who were present in the Assembly on the day the bill was voted upon, disgraced their oath of office by approving the bill with such little discussion. The Senate should move to block its passage, and if that fails, the provincial governments should steer clear of invoking its provisions. Perhaps the Supreme Court can examine its legality as well. The state should be working on strengthening modern forms of dispute resolution, not reinforcing antiquated bodies that do more harm than good and giving them legal cover.

Briton plotted to join Abu Sayyaf bandits
[NEWSINFO.INQUIRER.NET] A British supermarket worker was convicted on Thursday of preparing to fight with the Abu Sayyaf
...also known as al-Harakat al-Islamiyya, an Islamist terror group based in Jolo, Basilan and Zamboanga. Since its inception in the early 1990s, the group has carried out bombings, kidnappings, murders, head choppings, and extortion in their uniquely Islamic attempt to set up an independent Moslem province in the Philippines. Abu Sayyaf forces probably number less than 300 cadres. The group is closely allied with remnants of Indonesia's Jemaah Islamiya and has loose ties with MILF and MNLF who sometimes provide cannon fodder...

Ryan Counsell, 28, was found guilty of preparing for acts of terrorism.

Counsell had booked to fly on July 13 last year to Zamboanga City, the closest city to Basilan
...Basilan is a rugged, jungle-covered island in the southern Philippines. It is a known stronghold of the Abu Sayyaf, bandidos, and maybe even orcs. Most people with any sense travel with armed escorts...

Abu Sayyaf is listed as a banned terrorist group in Britannia, the jury at Woolwich Crown Court in southeast London heard.

He had bought military equipment to "engage in combat or support an Death Eater group," the court was told.

Jurors heard how Counsell had spent almost £900 ($1,130) on "heavy-duty, military-style boots, combat trousers, camouflage clothing, knee and elbow pads, a monocular scope, rifle magazine pouches and a cheek pad to be attached to the stock of a rifle."

He had a bomb-making manual and documents providing "practical advice for someone wanting to travel to Syria to join Islamic State."

Police officer accused of shooting man in Islamabad surrenders
[DAWN] A police official accused of fatally shooting a man near a police picket in Islamabad in the wee hours of Friday has surrendered before the police, an official said on Sunday.

The officer of police's Eagle Squad, Samiullah Niazi, had expeditiously departed at a goodly pace after the incident and police had initiated a search for the suspect.

However,
we can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and applaud when they go by...
two days after the incident the officials informed media that Niazi has presented himself in front of the Superintendent Police (SP) Sajid Kiani.

Niazi will be taken to court on Monday, the officials confirmed.

The victim, later identified as Taimoor Riaz, a salesman of auto spare-parts, was rubbed out in Islamabad's Sector I-10/1 in the early hours of Friday after allegedly failing to stop at a checkpoint.

A police officer had told Dawn on the condition of anonymity that between 4:30am and 4:45am on Friday a rashly-driven Toyota Corolla approached the picket set up on a link road between the I.J. Principal Road and Sector I-10 from the Islamabad side.

Around three to five officials deployed at the picket signalled the driver to stop but he ignored and drive through.

The victim was hit by three bullets ─ two in the back and one in the head.

Station House Officer (SHO) Sabzi Mandi Saleem Shah was suspended for his failure to respond on time and arrest the officials.

The police said a woman travelling in the car with the dear departed had taken him to the hospital in a taxi.

The incident sparked rioting and protests on Islamabad's IJP Road, with the victim's family dismissing the police statement and saying there had been no prior warning or order to stop before the officer opened fire.

The police handed over the body to the relatives of the dear departed after an autopsy at the hospital.

The protesters took the body to the road and damaged public and private property during the protest.

They later dispersed after officials of the police and the capital administration assured them that the suspected coppers would be tossed in the clink
Book 'im, Mahmoud!
within 48 hours.

Paperwork was started but nothing else was done against the officials in response to a complaint lodged by the victim’s brother on the charge of murder, the police stated.

Talking to the media, the dear departed’s mother, Syeda Bibi, said her son had two children. His brother Sajjad Riaz told Dawn: "We are in the dark as nobody is telling us what actually happened."

He added: "We have been told that an official of the Eagle Squad fired at Taimoor when he crossed the picket, killing him on the spot."

According to the standard operating procedure (SOP), police can only fire in retaliation and self-defence, the police officer explained, adding if any person ignored the police signal to stop, they should be chased. In case of unavailability of a vehicle, the police control should be alerted to arrest the escapee.

Gorsuch nomination meets with positive reception
[CNN] Americans' first impressions of Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch tilt positive, and a plurality say the Senate ought to vote to confirm President Donald Trump

's selection to replace Justice Antonin Scalia, according to a new CNN/ORC poll.

Overall, 49% say the Senate should vote to confirm Gorsuch, who is a federal judge. That's roughly the same share that said so about Samuel Alito in 2005 and Sonia Sotomayor in 2009 shortly after their nominations were announced. Support for Gorsuch is just a hair below that of former President Barack Obama
Ready to Rule from Day One...
's selection for the same seat, Merrick Garland (52% supported a vote in favor), who did not receive a hearing or confirmation vote in the Senate.

About half say Gorsuch's ideological position is about right (49%), less than said so about Garland (56%). About a third, 34%, say they think Gorsuch will be too conservative, higher than the share who said so of other successful GOP nominees Alito (29%), John Roberts (24%) or Clarence Thomas (20%).

Overall, though, 39% say they have a positive first impression of Gorsuch, significantly higher than the 24% who say they have a negative impression of him. More, 45%, said they had a positive first impression of Garland after his pick was announced last year and 54% felt positively about Roberts after his announcement.

Rumor is that Kennedy will retire in June, so save the big guns for that fight, which will be life or death for the Left.

Kashmir is core dispute between India and Pakistan: Nawaz Sharif
[TIMESOFINDIA.INDIATIMES] Upping the ante, Pakistain Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif
... served two non-consecutive terms as prime minister, heads the Pakistain Moslem League (Nawaz). Noted for his spectacular corruption, the 1998 Pak nuclear test, border war with India, and for being tossed by General Musharraf...
on Sunday said Kashmire is the "core dispute" between India and Pakistain and the dream of peace and prosperity of the people of the region will remain elusive without resolving the issue.

Describing Kashmire issue is the "unfinished agenda of partition and the oldest disputes in the UN Security Council, Sharif said "for the last seven decades India has denied the people of Kashmire the right to self-determination promised to them by the international community through numerous UN Security Council resolutions".

He was speaking on the occasion of ' Kashmire Solidarity Day+ '.

"The people of Pakistain join their Kashmiri brothers and sisters in observing Kashmire Solidarity Day today to reaffirm our moral, diplomatic and political support to the legitimate struggle of the Kashmiri people for their basic human rights
...which are often intentionally defined so widely as to be meaningless...
, especially the right to self determination enshrined in the relevant UN Security Council resolutions," Sharif said.

Arabia
Bashir to Al Arabiya: Yemen poses threat
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] In an exclusive interview with Al Arabiya's General Manager Turki Aldakhil, Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir
Head of the National Congress Party. He came to power in 1989 when he, as a brigadier in the Sudanese army, led a group of officers in a bloodless military coup that ousted the government of Prime Minister Sadiq al-Mahdi and eventually appointed himself president-for-life. He has fallen out with his Islamic mentor, Hasan al-Turabi, tried to impose shariah on the Christian and animist south, resulting in its secessesion, and attempted to Arabize Darfur by unleashing the barbaric Janjaweed on it. Sudan's potential prosperity has been pissed away in warfare that has left as many as 400,000 people dead and 2.5 million displaced. Omar has been indicted for genocide by the International Criminal Court but nothing is expected to come of it.
discussed Sudan's participation in the Decisive Storm Operation in Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
and Iran’s activity in the region.

Bashir said he met with King Salman
...either the largest species of Pacific salmon or the current Sheikh of the Burnin' Sands, Cutodian of the Two Holy Mosquesand Lord of Most of the Arabians....
bin Abdulaziz Al Saud when he was still the Crown Prince and discussed Yemen and how dangerous the situation was there.

"We in Sudan feel that the situation in Yemen poses a threat to us," he said, adding that he informed high-ranking Saudi officials of this point of view.

Once the Decisive Storm Operation was declared, Sudan immediately joined forces through a number of military aircraft and Sudanese troops present on the ground in Aden, the president said. "We are also preparing troops to send them to the kingdom and to Yemen," he added.

Iranian ambitions
On Iran and its activity in the region, Bashir said Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
had information about carrying out certain activities against the kingdom from Sudan. "We've always confirmed that we will not allow our land to be exploited against the kingdom," he said, adding that the Iranian activity in Sudan created some sort of sensitivity. "In the end, we were convinced that this activity must be stopped," Bashir said.

Bashir accused the Americans of establishing a Shiite state in Iraq after the collapse of Saddam Hussein's regime and thus helping Iran to expand. "This gave Iran control over four Arab capitals -- Damascus, Beirut, Baghdad and Sanaa," he said.

"Is this the end of Iran's ambitions or does it have other aims? I think Tehran has other aims," Bashir added.

Hala’ib Triangle land dispute
On relations with Egypt and the dispute over the Hala’ib land, Bashir reiterated that the land was Sudanese. "The Hala’ib triangle is Sudanese," Bashir said, noting that when elections were first held during the joint British-Egyptian governance, Hala’ib was one of the Sudanese districts that took part in the elections. "Elections are a major sovereign practice," he added.

On how Sudan will address the dispute with Egypt, Bashir asserted that they will resort to the UN Security Council if the Egyptians refuse to negotiate over the matter.

No solution for Kurds in Turkey except democracy and peace, says Ahmet Turk upon release
[RUDAW.NET] The veteran Kurdish politician Ahmet Turk who was released on orders of a Turkish court on Friday has reaffirmed that there is no solution for the Kurdish question in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

other than "democracy and peace," while calling for the immediate release of many other MPs, mayors and members of the pro-Kurdish parties.

"We believe that other than democracy and peace, there is no other solution. There is no other way," Turk told Rudaw after his release, referring to the Kurdish issue in the country.

He also said that the current situation is both "critical and difficult" for the Kurds.

"I came out of prison today, but our leaders, our MPs, and 70 of our mayors, are in prison now," Turk said as he recalled the moment he left the prison, leaving behind two party politicians, and also referring to dozens of big shots tossed in the slammer

by the Turkish authorities from the Pro-Kurdish People’s Democratic Party (HDP), and Democratic Regions Party (DBP) umbrella group.

A Turkish court in Mardin ordered the release of Turk on Friday on account of his health. The 75-year-old Kurdish politician was detained by the Turkish police in November as part of a "terror probe" against people with alleged connection to the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK).

Istanbul politician Sezgin Tanrikulu, who is a member of the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP), praised the court’s decision.

"Finally, a wrong verdict that contradicts justice and conscience has been rectified. Ahmet Turk was released," Tanrikulu tweeted.

Syrian rebel forces eject ISIS from 2 towns near Raqqa
[ARA News] Raqqa – After clashes with Islamic State’s (ISIS) militants, the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Sunday captured two towns in eastern Raqqa.

“The SDF forces today seized control of the Hadi and Natali towns in the eastern countryside of Raqqa,” an SDF spokesman told ARA News.

“ISIS militants were forced to withdraw under heavy bombardment by the SDF,” he said.

According to the official, the two towns used to be main bases for ISIS jihadists in eastern Raqqa, northeast Syria.

“ISIS evacuated its security centres in the two towns. This progress could facilitate the SDF movements across the eastern suburb of Raqqa,” the spokesman said.

At least 13 ISIS militants were killed in Sunday’s clashes.

This comes juts one day after the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces announced the launch of the third phase of Euphrates Wrath Operation in Raqqa, a campaign aimed at isolating the Islamic State (ISIS) radical group in its de facto capital.

Cihan Shekh Ehmed, the SDF’s official Spokesperson for the Euphrates Wrath Operation, said in a press conference on Saturday that the new phase will be focused on securing the eastern countryside of Raqqa.

“As the [SDF-led] military operations [against ISIS] continue in western Raqqa, today we announce the third phase of the Euphrates Wrath Operation in eastern Raqqa,” she said. “The third phase is aimed at liberating the eastern countryside of Raqqa Governorate from ISIS, and save our people there from ISIS terrorism,” Cihan said. “The brutality of this terrorist group increases as we close in on its de facto capital.”

The SDF announced that it has captured over 2500 km2 in western Raqqa Governorate as part of the second phase of the US-backed Euphrates Wrath Operation, launched on 10 December. The polyethnic alliance also confirmed that they had cleared 196 villages and dozens of farms.

During the first phase of Euphrates Wrath, which began on November 6, the SDF liberated roughly 560 km² in northern Raqqa. “Thus, since the beginning of the battle for Raqqa, 3200 square kilometers have been cleared, including 236 villages.”

The SDF launched the second phase of the Operation Euphrates Wrath with the objective of securing Raqqa’s western countryside and Tabqa Dam, which bridges the Euphrates River. The first phase of the operation focused on securing the banks of the Balikh River.

The SDF confirmed the that they had eliminated 620 ISIS militants during the course of the campaign, captured 18 others and destroyed “over 40 car bombs.” In addition, SDF troops seized “a great deal of ammunition and weapons,” as well as “a number of ISIS vehicles.”

The long-term objective of Euphrates Wrath remains the elimination of the Islamic State in its de facto capital –Raqqa city.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Liberals in Global Outrage That Professional Attire Is Expected at the White House
[FREEBEACON] Liberals are outraged across the globe because employees are expected to dress professionally in the White House.

Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
has "angered feminists all over again," this time for comments he did not make. The outrage originated from an Axios report Thursday that quoted an unnamed source who claimed to have worked for the Trump campaign who said, "Trump likes the women who work for him ’to dress like women.'"

"Even if you're in jeans, you need to look neat and orderly," the source added. Men also should be "sharply dressed."

Dozens of outlets from Australia to Ireland celebrated women who took to Twitter to express their displeasure with Trump over the anonymous comment that women can wear jeans to work. Users began using the hash tag #DressLikeAWoman to show that many women wear uniforms at their jobs, as do fictional characters.

"Trump prefers female employees to ’dress like women', because of course he does," wrote the Sydney Morning Herald.

The Irish Examiner said the "internet's response" to the report was "gloriously badass." The Indian Express and Refinery 29 noted the "amazing Twitter responses." The Huffington Post found 21 women who tweeted about the comments.

BBC News, TIME, the Telegraph, the Guardian, and Yahoo! had write ups, as well.

The UK edition of Marie Claire magazine used the occasion to incorrectly report that President Trump will "declare pre-marital sex" "wrong" via an executive order.

"[I]n just two weeks he has already set back women’s rights dramatically," the magazine wrote. "He has restricted women’s reproductive rights, cut funding to international organizations who promote, provide and advise on abortions, and just yesterday it was revealed that he’s planning an executive order to declare pre-marital sex, same-sex marriage and abortion to be wrong."

The magazine said the comment on women's clothing, which they wrongly attributed to Trump directly, made Marie Claire "disheartened," because it had the effect of "cementing a general feeling that a Trump presidency is setting us back by about 50 years."

Uh, it IS wrong. That doesn't erase the fact that virtually every soul on the planet does it. But even this fake announcement attacks something that at its core is essentially correct.

Turkish police foil ISIS strike on Izmir holiday resort
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] Turkish police have foiled a planned ISIS terror strike on the Izmir holiday resort following a string of dawn raids.

In total 445 suspects have been incarcerated
Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit!
across the country - including nine jihadis in the tourist resort plotting their attack.

One of the men arrested in Izmir is a Syrian national who had made contact with people smuggling gangs to sneak ISIS Death Eaters into Europe. Around 100 suspects were arrested in the south east of the country near the border with Syria.

At least 60 suspected jihadis were arrested in Ankara, most of them believed to be foreign nationals.

The operation around the country saw 150 suspects rounded up in Sanliurfa in the southeast and 47 in the nearby city of Gaziantep close to the Syrian border which has a known jihadist presence, Dogan said.

One of the suspects detained in Izmir - a Syrian identified only as E.A. - is said to have been in touch with people smugglers in a bid to help the ISIS members escape to Europe, Anadolu said.

Eighteen people were detained in Istanbul and the neighbouring province of Kocaeli on suspicion of planning attacks.

Another 14 foreigners were due to be deported, including 10 children.

Turkish security forces conducted a series of coordinated raids to arrest suspected jihadis.

This morning's raids saw Turkish police arrest the suspects - including foreign nationals - who are believed to have been planning attacks.

This follows the first confirmed attack by ISIS on The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
on New Year's Eve which claimed the lives of 39 people.

The New Year's Eve attack on the Reina nightclub was the first time ISIS grabbed credit for an atrocity in Turkey, although it had been suspected of several bombings during 2016.

Police detained the suspected New Year's Eve attacker, Abdulgadir Masharipov, an Uzbek national, on January 16 after over over two weeks on the run and authorities say he has confessed to the massacre.

The Hurriyet daily reported after the attack that ISIS also planned a simultaneous New Year's strike in Ankara but dropped the plot after arrests by the Turkish authorities.

Sources claim most of the 60 people detained in the capital are foreigners, although there is no information yet as to their nationality.

Dozens more arrests were made in provinces ranging from Bursa in the west to Bingol in the east.

In addition to the latest arrests, Turkey says at least 780 people, including 350 foreigners, remain in detention - some of whom have been convicted - over suspected links to the jihadist group.

presidents in American history.

"Donald Trump’s first week as president has made it all too clear: Yes, he is as crazy as everyone feared," Ms. Brooks wrote. "[One] possibility is one that until recently I would have said was unthinkable in the United States of America: a military coup, or at least a refusal by military leaders to obey certain orders."

For the first time in her career in public service, including three years as senior counselor to the Pentagon’s policy chief from 2009 to 2011, "I can imagine plausible scenarios in which senior military officials might simply tell the president: ’No, sir. We’re not doing that.’"

Ms. Brooks’ editorial comes as a recent poll by Public Policy Polling group found that 40 percent of registered voters support Mr. Trump’s impeachment.

In addition, 52 percent of voters polled said they would rather have President B.O. in the Oval Office, opposed to the 43 percent who support the Trump presidency.

Judge Wears Anti-Trump Pussy Hat to Court
Travis County Judge Sarah Eckhardt has been rocking headgear with strong anti-Trump symbolism: The Pussy hat. To say it’s politically charged is like saying third-rails are shocking: These hats are pointed symbols in opposition to President Donald Trump, who said in an infamous 2005 video that he grabbed women by their privates. That footage became controversial because the action meets legal definitions of sexual assault if done without consent.

News of Eckhardt’s fashion choice started spreading with a now-partially deleted Reddit post from late January. KVUE later picked up the story and started looking into it. Can the Texas judge wear a hat with strong political connotations? Well, yes. Because she’s not a judge in the conventional sense.

From their story a couple of weeks ago:

KVUE’s Jason Puckett reached out to multiple county departments to verify that this behavior was acceptable and found that almost every source he spoke with agreed – Eckhardt is in the clear.

Meanwhile, the County Attorney office told the outlet they haven’t gotten any complaints, and Judge Eckhardt’s office declined to comment.

Clarification is important here: This Democratic politician is actually Travis County’s top executive, an elected official who leads the Commissioners Court. Here’s the official description of her job [emphasis ours]:

The County Judge is the presiding officer and a voting member of the Travis County Commissioners Court. In the role of presiding officer, the County Judge sets the Court’s weekly voting session agenda, and is often thought of as the chief administrator of the County through the Court´s responsibility for approving annual budgets for the entire County. In large counties like Travis, the County Judge no longer exercises judicial functions as a probate or constitutional county court judge, though the office retains the power to conduct marriages and may also be called upon to conduct administrative hearings.

#8  OK, one more time:
In Texas, the county judge is not a judicial position. It is the head of the county commissioners, who run the particular county.
The individual runs for election, and can be voted out (happens regularly). It's sort of the mayor of the county.
In this case we're talking about the People's Republic of Travis County.

Teenage girl dies after being thrown off ride at amusement park in China
[FOXNEWS] A 13-year-old girl has died after being flung out of a fast-turning ride at an amusement park in southwest China.

China's product safety regulator said in a statement late Saturday that an initial investigation showed her seatbelt had broken and a passenger safety bar did not fit tightly enough at the Chaohua Park in Fengdu county, which comes under Chongqing municipality.

Cellphone footage carried by state media showed the girl flying out of the "Travel Through Space" ride on Friday afternoon as seats repeatedly spun round 360 degrees. Media reports say she fell on to iron railings and was taken to a hospital, where she died.

The West China Metropolis Daily reported Sunday that the girl's family had reached a compensation agreement with the park for their only child's death amounting to $127,000.

The newspaper also said the ride had passed a routine quality inspection in December.

“We cannot forget the way that the Republican leadership absolutely betrayed our constitutional duty to have a hearing and a vote. They really stole the seat. I think it is that bluntly true,” Blumenthal said on “AM Joy.”

Converts must die: Kurdistan’s Zoroastrians outraged by Islamic preacher
[RUDAW.NET] The Zoroastrian representation in the Kurdistan Region has filed a legal complaint against a Kurdish Islamic preacher whom they claim has issued a decree that all converts to the pre-Islamic faith must be killed if they did not repent within days.

"We filed a lawsuit against Mala Hasib, the [Islamic] preacher at Mala Rasul mosque, before the public prosecutor’s office today," said Awat Hussamaddin Tayib, the representative of the Zoroastrians at the Kurdistan Region’s ministry of religious affairs, "He has given a three-day deadline to all the Zoroastrians," she claimed.

"He says ’if they [the Zoroastrians] do not return to Islam’, which he described as the religion of our ancestors, while our ancestral religion is Zoroastrianism [then] they have to be killed as he issued against all the Zoroastrians," Tayib explained.

Border control to handle returning fighters a problem Jakarta must tackle
[TODAYONLINE] Increasing concern over foreign terrorist fighters returning to South-east Asia has prompted Indonesia to enhance immigration cooperation with Asean member countries.

But regional cooperation must be preceded by significant internal improvement, particularly in regards to the integrity and capability of the country’s immigration apparatus.

Since coalition forces successfully pushed the so-called Islamic State

and launched Operation Conquest, leaders from various countries have expressed their concern over the potential consequences of fleeing IS imported muscle.

Indonesia -- a country where a small collection of IS fighters has its origins and where imported muscle are often attracted to joining local resistances -- must keep an eye on its border security.

Indonesia already has experience in this issue, as its immigration and border security have been exploited in the past by Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) fighters wanting to enter or leave the country.

Indonesia’s problem with people movement seems to centre on a lack of integrity in the immigration apparatus, as well as the sheer scale of its borderlands.

Afghanistan: Taliban 'Engages In Rescue Efforts' After Deadly Snowfall
[EURONEWS] The Taliban Death Eater group has announced it is engaging in rescue efforts in Afghanistan after heavy snowfall caused over 80 deaths in 48 hours.

It published a report on its Internet portal ’The Jihad Voice’ in which it claims to have helped dozens of people in vehicles stuck in snow in the southern province of Zabul.

Since Thursday (February 2), more than a hundred people have died as a result of the extreme weather conditions.

At least 50 people died in one village in Nuristan, in the north east of the country, after an avalanche buried the commune, an official has confirmed.

Two killed as lawyer settles dispute with bullets
[DAWN] LAHORE: A lawyer and his office assistant were rubbed out allegedly by another lawyer over a property dispute at Jia Musa Bazaar in Shahdara on Saturday.

Police said Advocate Muhammad Bilal called Irfan Mushtaq Khokhar, 40, of Jia Musa, to settle a property dispute. Khokhar, along with his office assistant Muhammad Afzal, 42, reached the appointed place. During the course of discussion, police said, both parties exchanged harsh words and Bilal shot at and injured the other lawyer and his assistant. The suspect expeditiously departed at a goodly pace.

People gathered on the spot and shifted the injured to a hospital, where they succumbed to injuries.

A police contingent reached the spot after the firing incident in the market and launched search for the killer. The police teams collected forensic evidence from the scene of the crime and recorded statements of eyewitnesses.

Police later shifted the bodies to morgue for an appointment with Dr. Quincy and started the paperwork but haven't done much else against Bilal on the complaint of victim’s father Mushtaq Khokhar.

City Division SP Operations Muhammad Naveed told Dawn that the lawyer and his assistant were killed over property dispute. He said they had incarcerated

UK Students Rights Activist: Hamas-Linked ‘Friends of Al-Aqsa’ Key Fomenter of Campus Antisemitism
[ALGEMEINER] A British campus activist said on Friday that a key player behind the deteriorating situation for Jewish students in the UK is an outside anti-Israel group with ties to Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,.

In an oped in the International Business Times, Elliot Miller -- a student rights organizer and fellow at the Henry Jackson Society think-tank -- accused Friends of al-Aqsa (FOA) of fomenting antisemitism across UK schools.

Miller wrote that FOA and its partnering organizations are "driving the development of a divisive

atmosphere on some campuses," most recently at the University College London in October, where, as The Algemeiner reported, Jewish students were targeted in coordinated, violent FOA-sponsored protests during a pro-Israel event.

#1  That may well be a major factor on-campus, but Jew hatred in Britain goes well beyond fans of Hamas. From The Times of Israel a few days ago:

Anti-Semitism at highest level on record: Latest figures show anti-Semitism in the UK rose 36 percent in 2016, with more than twice as many incidents as four years ago

One wonders how the French emigres feel about it, having already fled their homeland once due to the combination of socialist economics and jihadi Jew hatred.

Doctors thrash patient’s relative
[DAWN] LAHORE: Young doctors thrashed the grandson of an elderly patient who died in the emergency ward of the Mayo Hospital on Saturday.

Eighty-year-old Yaseen, a resident of Shahdara, was brought to the hospital in the evening and referred to the emergency ward where postgraduate trainee of North Medical Ward Dr Zafarullah Lashari was on duty.

Eyewitnesses said when Shahbaz repeatedly requested Dr Zafarullah to properly attend his grandfather the medic was rude to him. The elderly patient could not survive and Shahbaz started holding Dr Zafarullah responsible for the death.

Instead of pacifying Shahbaz, Dr Zafarullah slapped him and along with his colleagues, gave him a sound thrashing. The officials deputed at the police post of Mayo Hospital remained unmoved and attendants of other patients came to the rescue of Shahbaz.

Gowalmandi police SHO Tahir reached the spot along with some officials and brought the situation under control.

Mayo Hospital Medical Superintendant Dr Tahir Khalil said a committee, under Deputy Medical Superintendent (Admn) Dr Khalid and Dr Irshad, had been constituted to probe into the incident.

Action would be taken against those guilty after the inquiry, he said.

Palestinian man becomes dad again at 92
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The wife of a 92-year-old Paleostinian recently delivered a baby girl in the city of al-Khalil in the West Bank.
And I'll bet the kid looks just like him.
Mahmoud al-Adam named the baby Tamara and said he was very happy as she is a gift from God.

"I now have 8 daughters and 5 sons. It was such a surprise to have a baby at this age but this is God's will," Adam said.

Tamara's mother Abeer is thrilled she's become a mother especially that she wasn't expecting she will be able to have any children from her elderly husband.

Abeer is over 42 years old and is deaf and mute. She married Adam few years ago after his first wife passed away.

Fertility doctors and specialists agree that man's fertility deceases as he ages and that fertility is affected by some chronic illnesses such as diabetes, blood sugar, arteriosclerosis and others. A man who has a good health and who follows a good diet can be fertile his entire life.

Adam confirmed this is true in his case and said he eats natural foods and performs various activities all the time.

Four ‘killers’ of student killed in ‘encounter’
They're "dead" now.
[DAWN] LAHORE: Four suspects allegedly involved in a kidnap-cum-murder case were killed in an encounter in Manawan, claimed the CIA police here on Saturday.

No personnel of the law enforcement agencies were maimed in the encounter.

A front man for the CIA police claimed that four suspects identified as Abdul Sattar alias Nannha, Baber Nadeem, Muhammad Azam and Muhammad Ejaz were being taken for recovery when their five to six accomplices attacked them near Manawan.

He said the suspects along with their accomplices tried to flee after the attack, but the police team was already on alert and retaliated swiftly, killing four suspects in a brief shootout. Their accomplices managed to escape in the darkness. Police recovered the bodies and shifted them to a morgue.

The front man said that suspects were involved in kidnapping and later killing a ninth class student, Aman Qamar of Samanabad, in 2016.

He said the suspects had taken the boy to Faisalabad

and demanded Rs3 million as ransom from his family. Though the family paid Rs2.5m ransom, the suspected kidnappers killed the boy and buried him in a graveyard in Faisalabad.

He said the suspects were involved in a number of kidnap for ransom cases registered against them in different areas of the city.

ISIS abducts 17 wimmin in Kirkuk

Kirkuk (IraqiNews.com) Islamic State militants have kidnapped 17 women in southwestern Kirkuk, anti-IS popular militias said on Saturday.

Hassan al-Soufi, a senior commander at al-Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Units) said the women were kidnapped due to an attempt to flee a region held by the extremist group in al-Zab region (55 km southwest of the province) towards Salahuddin’s town of Shirqat. “Those elements herded the kidnapped women to central Hawija”, Soufi revealed.

The group accused the women of “abandoning the land of the caliphate and collaborating for the smuggling of civilians towards Kirkuk and Salahuddin provinces,” according to Soufi.

Islamic State has held regions southwest of Kirkuk, along with several other Iraqi cities, since it emerged in 2014 to establish a so-called “Islamic State”. The group has, since then, both enslaved women and imposed extreme religious rules on them. Many were also reportedly drafted to fight by the group’s side . News about the group targeting and killing many civilians fleeing its areas of control have been recurrent since Iraqi forces launched offensives to drive Islamic State out of the country.

Kirkuk and other few Islamic State pockets are still awaiting official orders for security intervention against the group, but the government is giving full focus to its campaign in Mosul, IS’s largest stronghold in Iraq where security forces have so far recaptured a half of territories.

Trump says Pence to lead voter registration fraud probe, leaves door open on Iran deal future
[FOXNEWS] President Trump, in an exclusive interview with Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly, announced he’ll name Vice President Pence to lead a commission investigating voter registration fraud ‐ while also laying out timelines for top domestic priorities like tax cuts and health care, and leaving the door open to scrapping the Iran nuclear deal.

The president, in the interview aired Sunday on Fox Sports ahead of Super Bowl LI, defended his past complaints about "illegals" potentially voting.

"You take a look at the registration, you have illegals, you have dead people ... it’s really a bad situation," he said.

Though Trump did not sign a previously expected executive order initiating a voter fraud probe, he said in the interview he’s going to assign Pence to the job, seemingly making good on a vow to hold a "major" investigation.

"I’m going to set up a commission, to be headed by Vice President Mike Pence, and we’re going to look at it very, very carefully," he said.

The president ‐ who lost the popular vote by nearly 3 million but won the Electoral College and with it the White House ‐ has insisted since the election that millions of illegal immigrants colonists and others improperly cast ballots.

#1  Electoral College? Let's use the House of Representatives, shall we? 240 (R) and 193 (D), even with any/all the illegal votes.

55% (R) and a mere 45% (D). A bigger majority than many or any Presidential elections. Doesn't that tell the media/Dems anything about the "regular, ordinary everyday people versus the far-right-wing, evil Republicans"?

Iraq
Mortar fire forces thousands of civilians to flee liberated eastern Mosul
[RUDAW.NET] Despite Iraqi government proclamations of eastern djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
being fully liberated, many areas remain unsafe, as residents of Mosul have continued to leave the eastern side the city in recent days because of shelling from ISIS-controlled western Mosul.

More than 1,340 IDPs have "fled primarily from north and central neighbourhoods of east Mosul which have been under fire from mortars launched from the west bank," the United Nations
...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships...
Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) reported Wednesday in its weekly report.

"Hundreds of families have fled their homes in northeastern Mosul," Iraqi Police Brigadier General Omran Mohammed told Anadolu Agency on Wednesday.

The agency also reported Mohammed as saying that over the past 72 hours [ISIS] turbans had launched numerous rocket barrages at the city’s eastern districts.

Despite the attacks, about 1,800 internally displaced persons (IDPs) left UNHCR camps and returned to neighborhoods in and around east Mosul in the past week.

Displacement is expected to accelerate when operations to retake western Mosul intensify.

"New arrivals to Nargizilia camp from western Mosul reported having left their homes as a result of shelling, shooting, incidents of gangs taking over houses, serious food shortages, as well as lack of medical care and basic services," UNHCR wrote in its weekly report.

Southeast Asia
Malacca tightens entry requirements for foreign preachers
[CHANNELNEWSASIA] The Malaysian state of Malacca will review and tighten procedures for foreign preachers to prevent the spread of radical teaching.

"We will review, revisit and tighten up all our procedures and guidelines for foreign preachers to give sermons here, to prevent radical teachings. Prevention is better than cure," Malacca's Chief Minister Idris Haron told Channel NewsAsia.

Mr Idris also questioned the need to have foreign preachers from war-torn countries coming to Malacca to teach people how to live in harmony.

"For example, we have Syrian preachers coming here to teach us how to live peacefully. Their country is in chaos ... and they want to teach us how to live peacefully? By right, our preachers should be going there to teach them how to live in peace and stability," said Mr Idris.

The six-year civil war in Syria has claimed more than 300,000 lives and displaced an estimated four million people from the country.

According to the minister, 157 foreign preachers held sermons and talks in Malacca from 2015 to 2016. Most of them were from Indonesia, while the others were from Pakistain, Thailand, India, Yemen, Iraq and Syria.

"We have in our state quite a number of good preachers who can preach well and are well-understood by the people. They are knowledgeable, experienced and well-recognised by certain quarters in society, but we still want external preachers," said Mr Idris.

"My worry is that they (foreign preachers) don’t respect the law of the state. For example, we have the requirement that there must be no insult against any of the different beliefs in our country where we have been living in unity, solidarity and harmony for the past 60 years."

U.S. coalition jets bomb Islamic State-held town near Euphrates Dam
[REUTERS] U.S-led coalition planes bombed an Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
-controlled town near the Euphrates Dam in northern Syria a day after the launch of a new phase of a campaign to capture the turbans' defacto capital of Raqqa, activists and the hard boyz said on Sunday.

Activists confirmed reports released by the turbans' news agency Amaq which said four raids in the last twenty four hours hit the town of Tabqa west of Raqqa, located near Syria's largest dam, at the southern end of Lake Assad on the Euphrates.

A video released by Amaq showed extensive damage to a commercial center in the town but did mention any casualties.

Islamic State fighters are battling hard to keep the swathes of territory they have captured in Syria, mostly in the center and east, as they lose ground in Iraq.

On Friday, air strikes in Raqqa hit at least four bridges over the Euphrates River, part of a weeks-long campaign of air strikes in the province and near the dam, activists said.

The Euphrates Dam is one of the major sources of electicity in the country and crucial for irrigation of farms in the fertile region around Raqqa.

On the ground, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), an alliance of U.S.-backed militias, started a new phase of its campaign against Raqqa on Saturday, aiming to surround it and sever the road to turban strongholds in Deir al-Zor province.

The SDF, which includes the powerful Kurdish YPG militia, launched the campaign to capture Raqqa in November.

US-led airstrikes kill 10 Tahrir al-Sham fighters in Sarmin
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] US-led coalition Arclight airstrikes killed 10 Salafist tough guys fighting under the banner of Haya't Tahrir al-Sham, new alliance including former al-Qaeda group, local activists said Sunday.

The aerial bombing targeted the northern town of Sarmin less than 48 hours since suspected Russian Arclight airstrikes hit the same faction of Jonoud al-Malahem, leaving 6 fighters dead.

Fateh al-Sham
...formerly al-Nusra, the current false nose and mustache of al-Qaeda in the Levant...
, formerly known as Nusra Front, has dissolved in the 'Levant liberation' alliance, seeking to avoid the international coalition's air strikes, but that will never be a solution, activists said who went to streets on Friday, condemning the ex-al-Qaeda group.

Fateh al-Sham acts as regime in regard to brutality and repression, residents say in Idlib countryside.

The group is opposing any peace solution as well it has been launching attaacks on moderate rebels.

Haya’t Tahri al-Sham announced the formation of a coalition including several factions located in northern Syria, including Fateh al-Sham and Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement, on 28 January 2017.

ISIS attacks 4 Syrian air bases near Damascus
Beirut- Developments rolling in northern Syria include an exceptional race between the United States and Russia as to which superpower will provide air cover for the operation on liberating ISIS-held al-Bab town, located 40km northeast of Aleppo.

The Russian air force has provided aerial support for Syrian regime forces to advance to the town’s outskirts—while Turkish warplanes operating under the U.S.-led coalition have staged multiple air strikes over border vicinity, backing Turkish units partaking in the Operation Euphrates Shield and advancing towards al-Bab, reported the German news agency.

International efforts could not hold a candle to ISIS’ knack in establishing wins across Syrian regime soft spots. The terror group attacked four different regime military air bases, managing a substantial advance against one air base.

In a new photo report purportedly released by the terror group ISIS, militants are shown conducting an attack against Al-Seen military airport near Damascus, Syria.

Footage was released by ISIS-run channels on February 3. An accompanying summary of the report reads: “Fighting in the abandoned battalion and points surrounding southeast Al-Seen military airport.”

The terror group is fixed on dominating swathes of barricaded lands, which is why its militants have targeted regime military bases, said a Syrian opposition source on ISIS developments and strategy. Not to mention the abundant arms made available at the fully militarized bastion, the source added.

ISIS, in light of the great losses it has recently suffered, seeks to enhance the morale of combatants and their trust in the organizations ability to accomplish military gains.

In the meantime, scheduled February talks in Geneva exclude military factions involved with “Tahrir al-Sham” from the representing Syrian opposition delegation, a source attending a Turkey-held meeting in Ankara told Asharq Al-Awsat.

The Ankara meetings were attended by Turkish foreign ministry representatives and Syrian opposition representatives.

Senior Hamas Commander Dies in ‘Work Accident’
[JEWISHPRESS] A senior Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", commander has died in what the group called an "accidental kaboom" ‐ basically, a "work accident."

The Izz a-Din al-Qassam military wing of the region’s ruling Hamas terror organization said in a news release that Muhammad Walid al-Quqa was "setting something up" when the blast occurred.

Al-Quqa was a resident of the Al Shati community in northern Gazoo.
The Times of Israel adds:
According to Israel’s Channel 2 news, Quqa was the head of Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,’s explosives unit and the Qassam Brigades said he had been involved in " including manufacturing and assembling explosives."

The Paleostinian website al-Resalah, which is affiliated with Hamas, said the kaboom that killed Quqa occurred in the Sudaniye area in northern Gazoo.

The report quoted medical sources who said the Hamas commander had been brought to the hospital with his arms and legs blown off.
Allah didn't like him very much, it appears, and decided to send him to Hell so his devils could roast the unbeloved's intestines. Bummer.

Arabia
23 al-Qaeda Heavies die in Lawdar district
London- “Al-Qaeda sleeper cells in Arabian Peninsula woke up to the victory achieved by the legal government and the Arab Coalition as well as international changes including the new U.S. stance towards the Iranian policy and its allies in the region,” commented Yemeni writer Najib Ghallab on the latest movements of the terrorist organization in Yemen.

Residents of Lawdar district took action on Saturday and killed at least 23 members who tried to take over some security locations in the city.

Abdul Latif al-Sayed, an official in “Security Belt Forces”, said that the organization members took the bodies of their militants after their losses. He told Asharq Al-Awsat that the group’s attempt to storm into the town of Ahwar was also foiled.

“They spread chaos in the liberated regions to confuse the military scene that will liberate Sana’a soon with the advance of the army and resistance,” added Sayed.

Furthermore, Ghallab warned of repeating the Syria scenario through exploiting terrorist groups to run the battles. He explained that the new U.S. approach has pushed the rebels to publicize themselves and to claim that of the biggest danger in Yemen is “al-Qaeda”.

In Aden, Prime Minister Ahmed bin Dagher addressed relevant ministries, leadership of the fourth military zone and the local authority in Abyan to provide the required security equipment and tools, affirming that the government will not hesitate to perform its duties in combating terrorist members under any cover or name, especially the Houthi and Saleh militias.

PM stressed that an urgent security plan should be set to foil any attempt for terrorist members to spread in Abyan again.

“Fighting al-Qaeda will most probably impact the ‘legitimacy’ in some regions”, added Yemeni writer Ghallab as he warned that the insurgents are taking advantage of al-Qaeda.

Africa North
Fresh fighting erupts in Tripoli
Tunis, 5 February 2016:

Clashes again broke out in the west Tripoli suburb of Janzour today, Sunday, as local fighters took on militias from the neighb ouring . There have been reports of heavy artillery being used and, this evening of two Fursan Janzour (“Janzour Knights”) Brigade members being killed. According to the director of Janzour security directorate, Mahmoud Ashour, five civilians had been wounded, with one in a serious condition. Social media showed houses having been hit by shelling, possibly as many as five.

A senior commander of the Fursan Janzour, Mohamed Baruni, meanwhile condemned the Presidency Council’s (PC) silence and told the anti-PC Al-Nabaa TV they had made no effort to mediate.

However, in a statement following the statement, the PC called for an immediate end to the fighting. Such clashes were unacceptable, it said, claiming that it was working hard with the different sides to prevent further damage.

For its part, the so-called national salvation government led by Khalifa Ghwell, which some of the forces in Janzour now support, is reported to have released its own statement backing Janzour and calling for reinforcements against the Wirshefanis.

The fighting is now threatening to result in fresh power cuts in the area. Maintenance work at the nearby west Tripoli power station had to be stopped this morning because of the clashes. The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) also reported that an armed group had tried to break into the facility but were repelled by security forces.

Fighting initially broke out last Thursday when a Wirshefani man was alleged to have been caught stealing a car at Bridge 17 in Janzour.

After two days of fighting between the Wirshefana and Fursan Janzour, which led to local schools being closed, a tentative ceasefire was agreed last night. However, despite the efforts of local elders and a short period of calm this morning, it did not last. The lull in the fighting, however, did allow the Red Crescent to recover a number of bodies of fighters, although it has not said how many.

Last night, a Fursan Janzour spokesman, Ahmed Abduljalil, said his brigade continued to be subject to random shelling. Local residents also told the Libya Herald of their fear at being hit by stray missiles.

Scores of Chinese billionaires and CEOs have disappeared in ‘state-sanctioned abductions'
DOZENS of China's billionaires, millionaires and business executives have disappeared in "state-sanctioned abductions" ‐ only to reappear days or weeks later without explanation ‐ in the past 12 months.

In the latest incident, Chinese-born Canadian tycoon Xiao Jianhua was kidnapped from his luxury apartment in Hong Kong's Four Seasons Hotel by mainland security agents on January 27.

Hong Kong Police investigating the alleged abduction have seized CCTV footage from the hotel which reportedly shows the businessman being escorted from the hotel without a struggle.

The probe is going ahead against the wishes of Mr Xiao's family who fear any intervention may compromise his safety.

According to the South China Morning Post, Mr Xiao's wife fled to Japan after reporting his kidnap to Hong Kong and then retracting it.

Mr Xiao is the most high-profile of a long list of moguls and executives from at least 34 Chinese companies to be seized in bizarre circumstances over the past year alone.

In the west, a person needs an organ so they go on a wait list and when a registered donor dies by accident or naturally, they harvest the organs and look for people on the wait list that match the organ.

In china, the needy recipient is tested then they find a political or other prisoner who matches that recipient. They are then executed for prompt organ delivery.

Vault 114 was set up as a sociological experiment - the inhabitants were described as "high ranking local and state government, local luminaries, business people, and their families", however the luxury living conditions were exaggerated to the inhabitants, and when they arrived at the vault random families were chosen to occupy one room apartments and share minimal dining and bathing facilities. In addition, the Overseer was selected from the local public outside the vault, and the interview process favored those with no leadership or governmental experience and a strong anti-authority bias. Vault-Tec staff were asked not to undermine the authority of the new overseer "even (and especially) if it may cause physical discomfort, embarrassment or harm to the inhabitants"

Iraqi security force defeat attack on checkpoint near Haditha

Anbar (IraqiNews.com) Iraqi army forces managed to thwart a suicide attack, using a booby-trapped vehicle, on Baiji-Haditha road, north of Anbar, a source told Alsumaria News on Sunday.

The source said, “A booby-trapped vehicle, driven by a suicide bomber, attacked a checkpoint belonging to the 3rd regiment of the army’s 27th brigade on Baiji-Haditha road, north of Anbar.”

“Security forces managed to shell the vehicle using Kornet rockets, as well as killing the suicide bomber,” the source added on condition of anonymity.

Noteworthy, army’s 27th brigade is controlling and securing Baiji-Haditha road, after being liberated last year from the Islamic State’s grip.

Trump sidelines Palestinians, as aide rules out building ties for now
[IsraelTimes] Meeting unofficial representatives of Abbas, Jason Greenblatt, the administration’s special representative for international negotiations, indicated that the administration will not engage with PA until after President Trump meets Netanyahu on Feb. 15.

PA chief negotiator Saeb Erekat
...negotiated the Oslo Accords with Israel. He has been chief Paleostinian negotiator since 1995. He is currently was negotiating with Israel to establish a de jure Paleostinian state...
lashed out at the White House last Monday, telling Newsweek that if Trump’s first days in office were representative of the shape of things to come, "God help us, God help the whole world.

"We have sent them letters, written messages, they don’t even bother to respond to us," he said of the new administration.
The lack of a response is a very clear response, methinks.
On Thursday, Trump met with Jordan’s King Abdullah II at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, DC. According to Jordan’s official news agency Petra, the two "agreed on the need to intensify efforts to reach a solution to the Israeli-Paleostinian conflict."

Withdraw soldiers from Somalia, Kenyans tell Uhuru
[Daily Nation (Kenya)] President Uhuru Kenyatta has been urged to withdraw Kenyan soldiers from Somalia, following a recent al-Shabaab
... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
attack on a KDF camp that left 21 personnel dead.

Speaking during the burial of Rajab Baya Kazungu -- one of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldiers who was killed at Kulbiyow, Somalia -- on Saturday at his Kinarani home in Kilifi County, mourners said it was time for the soldiers to protect the country’s borders from within.

Among those who attended the burial was Kaloleni MP Gunga Mwinga, area ward representative Pascal Thuva and a member of the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) Morris Dzoro.

A sombre mood engulfed the village as KDF soldiers carried the casket bearing the remains of Mr Kazungu around 3pm, bringing to and end the life of the soldier who married on December 3 before being deployed to Somalia.

He was among four soldiers from the county who were killed in line of duty in Somalia.

Others who perished in the attack were Kennedy George Bakari, 30, and his nephew Juma Bakari, Mwanguyo, 38, from Mikuluni in Ganze Sub County and Francis Kombo from Mazeras in Rabai Sub County.

The other three are yet to be buried, with family sources saying they will be laid to rest next Saturday.

Mr Gunga joined locals and other leaders who spoke in calling for the withdrawal of Kenyan soldiers from Somalia.
"The President recently withdrew all the troops in Sudan. We would like to see the same happening now because we are not at war with Somalia," he said.

Lashkar-e-Taiba to hit Valentine's Day celebration in Kashmir
[NEWINDIANEXPRESS] Terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba
...the Army of the Pure, an Ahl-e-Hadith terror organization founded by Hafiz Saeed. LeT masquerades behind the Jamaat-ud-Dawa facade within Pakistain and periodically blows things up and kills people in India. Despite the fact that it is banned, always an interesting concept in Pakistain, the organization remains an blatant tool and perhaps an arm of the ISI...
Chief Hafiz Sayeed on Sunday exhorted his cadres in Pakistain and Kashmire to target those celebrating Valentine’s day later this month.

The terror criminal mastermind who has been put under so-called house arrest by the Pak authorities also gave call to his jihadi cadres and tanzeems associated with his outfit to redouble efforts for fundraising and launch a fresh wave of terror attacks in India especially Jammu and Kashmire.

Sayeed’s call not only exposes Pakistain’s duplicity but also bring to the fore the resolve of Lashkar and its frontal organization Jamat-Ud-Dawah’s determination to bounce back despite his house arrest.

The audacity of Sayeed’s call to launch a fresh wave of terror attacks in India also exposes the writ of so called democratically elected Nawaz Shareef government and also displays the terror group’s working relationship with Pakistain’s military leadership, an Intelligence official said.

Sayeed’s access to the Media and the outside world despite his house arrest also calls Pakistain's bluff as Islamabad was projecting itself to be cracking down on terror groups after US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
's tough stand against Islamic terror.

As reported, the terror outfits based in Pak including LeT and JuD observe Kashmire Day on February 5 every year. This year also the day was observed as Kashmire Day and Sayeed’s call comes as part of the celebration.

In what clearly points to the free run being given to terror groups in Pakistain, as many as 40 different jehadi outfits have expressed solidarity with Sayeed’s call to hit India and target people celebrating Valentine’s Day both in Pakistain and Kashmire. The LeT has directed its cadres to kill people who celebrate Valentine’s Day in the Valley, Intelligence sources tracking terrorist groups in the region said.

The call against Valentine’s Day is not confined to Pakistain or Kashmire as the Lashkar has also appealed to its sympathizers in other countries to undertake personal and social media campaigns against those who observe the day on February 14.

While the Pak Government has tried to project itself as the ruling power in Islamabad by arresting Saeed, his supporters see an opportunity in Lashkar chief’s call to express solidarity with him and expose the weak position of democrats in that country as well as the influence of international community, the sources added.

Indonesia targets radicals behind anti-governor protests
[OMANTRIBUNE] Indonesia is moving to rein in a notorious hardline group which spearheaded protests against Jakarta’s governor, but experts warn it will be tough to bring to heel a network with close ties to the establishment.

The Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) has in recent years become the face of the hardline group in the world’s most populous Moslem-majority country, growing in influence despite being a fringe organization whose extreme views are rejected by most.

The group has raided bars selling alcohol during the holy month of Ramadan, forced the cancellation of a concert by Lady Gaga -- whom they dubbed "the devil’s messenger" -- with noisy protests, and led demonstrations against the Miss World beauty pageant when it came to Indonesia.

Led by firebrand
...firebrands are noted more for audio volume and the quantity of spittle generated than for any actual logic in their arguments...
holy man Rizieq Shihab, the FPI helped organise recent mass rallies -- which attracted conservative and moderate people -- against Jakarta governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, an ethnic Chinese, who is on trial for allegedly insulting religion.

The protest movement against Purnama -- accused of insulting the Holy Koran while campaigning for re-election in polls later this month -- propelled the hardliners from being a marginal group to the centre of national politics, alarming observers and some in the government.

Now authorities are seeking to put the muzzle back on the radicals, with police stepping up an investigation into Shihab in a move seen as supported by President Joko Widodo and his administration.

"This is unprecedented, it is the first time that the president and the government is openly challenging this group," Tobias Basuki, an analyst from Jakarta think-tank, the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), said.

Last week, the police named the holy man a suspect for allegedly defaming Indonesia’s founding president, Sukarno, and the state ideology in a speech several years ago, meaning authorities believe there is enough evidence for him to stand trial.

Basuki said successive governments had shied away from cracking down for fear of being accused of attacking the religion but the current administration decided to "make a stand" as concerns mounted about the hardliners’ influence.

The forces of Evil have reacted angrily. Hundreds have rallied in support of Shihab -- who has served two short jail terms in the past -- whenever he is hauled in for police questioning.

Terror Networks
Al Qaeda is back
[WASHINGTONEXAMINER] Don't call it a comeback. Al Qaeda, the group responsible for the worst terrorist attack in United States history, never really left. Instead, while news media coverage inordinately focused on the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
, al Qaeda re-tooled and re-established itself for a new age.

To paraphrase Mark Twain, reports of al Qaeda's death were greatly exaggerated. Anticipatory obituaries appeared after the death of al Qaeda founder the late Osama bin Laden
... who is now sometimes referred to as Mister Bones...
on May 2, 2011. Then-President Barack Obama
I am not a dictator!...
, for instance, said on Sept. 10, 2011 that al Qaeda was "on a path to defeat." Similarly, then-Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta
...current SecDef, previously Director of the Central Intelligence Agency. Panetta served as President Bill Clinton's White House Chief of Staff from 1994 to 1997 and was a member of the United States House of Representatives from 1977 to 1993....
said in July 2011 that the U.S. was "within reach of strategically defeating al Qaeda."

The rise of the Islamic State -- an al Qaeda branch itself until an official split in 2014 cemented a long-standing rivalry -- received considerable attention from news hounds, pundits, and policymakers, as well as the public they influence.

But as terror analysts Daveed Gartenstein-Ross and Bridget Moreng pointed out in an April 2015 op-ed, "The Islamic State's offensive through Iraq and Syria last year has dominated the headlines, but the jihadist group that has won the most territory in the Arab world over the past six months is Al Qaeda."

The two analysts cited the Islamic State's comparatively greater emphasis on media and more highly-developed media capabilities as part of the reason. This difference however, has worked to al Qaeda's benefit.

The terror group, led since 2011 by bin Laden-successor Ayman al-Zawahiri
... Formerly second in command of al-Qaeda, now the head cheese, occasionally described as the real brains of the outfit. Formerly the Mister Big of Egyptian Islamic Jihad. Bumped off Abdullah Azzam with a car boom in the course of one of their little disputes. Is thought to have composed bin Laden's fatwa entitled World Islamic Front Against Jews and Crusaders. Currently residing in the North Wazoo area assuming he's not dead like Mullah Omar. He lost major face when he ordered the nascent Islamic State to cease and desist and merge with the orthodx al-Qaeda spring, al-Nusra...
, has employed a less flashy strategy that stands in contrast to its competitor's use of gruesome, and accordingly well-publicized, atrocities. Nor has al Qaeda, for the most part, attempted to hold and govern wide swaths of territory. The Islamic State's decision to do so and to declare a caliphate under His Supreme Immensity, Caliph of the Faithful and Galactic Overlord, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi
...formerly merely the head of ISIL and a veteran of the Bagram jailhouse. Looks like a new messiah to bajillions of Moslems, like just another dead-eyed mass murder to the rest of us...
resulted in its split from al Qaeda.

By adopting a more covert approach, al Qaeda has been able to expand while flying under the radar as the West and its Arab government allies have focused on the Islamic State. Ironically, al Qaeda has taken a page from the counterinsurgency strategy employed as part of the "surge" in Iraq to defeat it. By embedding with local populations, selling itself as less of a threat than the Islamic State, and relinquishing the scorched-earth tactics it had once employed as al Qaeda in Iraq, Zawihiri has led his organization to steady gains.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran official: Only 7 minutes needed for missile to hit Tel Aviv
[IsraelTimes] Mojtaba Zonour threatens attack on Israel if US launches military strike on Islamic Theocratic Republic.
Of course for 6.95 minutes the missile will be over Iran itself or a brotherly Arab country, meaning the thing will kill Muslims rather than Jews when Israel's countermissiles knock them aside or blow them up short of the target.

#1  The last time "Missiles rained in" from Saddam, the US coerced Israel to stand down and be patient, while the US reacted (presumable to keep Israel from going Nuclear). I wonder if that would repeat under Trump?

if Zonour meant that Iran had sufficiently advanced missiles in south Lebanon and reliable people to launch them, the 7 minute threat would be within practicability

Iraq

2 Iraqi soldiers die from mine attacks at Mekheisa village

Diyala (IraqiNews.com) Two Iraqi military soldiers were killed and six others were wounded on Sunday when several IEDs exploded during a security search northeast of Baqubah, an official in Diyala province said.

Awwad al-Rubaie, a member of the security committee at Diyala province, said the casualties belonged to the military battalion of the Iraqi army. He said the servicemen were combing farmlands at Mekheisa village, a militancy hotspot.

Nobody claimed responsibility for the explosions, but Islamic State militants have claimed several bombings and armed attacks against Iraqi civilians and security personnel since the extremist group took over several Iraqi cities in 2014.

The extremist group is currently sustaining losses in personnel and ground in face of Iraqi security forces which, backed by U.S.-led international troops and local paramilitaries, have been fighting IS out of the city of Mosul, the group’s largest bastion in Iraq. Further operations are expected to liberate other Iraqi provinces after the recapture of Mosul, a half of which is now under government troops’ control.

Observers believe that even after IS is beaten out of Mosul, the formerly-proclaimed capital of its so-called “Islamic Caliphate”, the group will still constitute a security threat, with a possibility of shifting to hit-and-run war style.

2 Iraqi militia wounded in mine attacks in Wadi Abu Sakhol area

Diyala (IraqiNews.com) A local source in Diyala Province revealed that two members of al-Hashd al-Shaabi were injured by the explosion of an improvised explosive device, northeast of the province, Alsumaria News reported on Sunday.

The source said, “An improvised explosive device, emplaced on the roadside in Wadi Abu Sakhol area exploded, at noon today, near a joint forces’ patrol, wounding a soldier and a fighter of al-Hashd al-Shaabi.”

“The wounded were transferred to a nearby medical center,” the source added on condition of anonymity.

Noteworthy, Islamic State group and other extremist groups are usually attacking security patrols in the different areas of Diyala.

Iraqi forces find ISIS tunnels near Hamrin Lake

Diyala (IraqiNews.com) Iraqi joint security forces discovered a tunnel and four premises belonging to the Islamic State, including the main premises of the group in Hamrin Lake, northeast of Baqubah, Head of Muqdadiyah District Council stated on Sunday.

Adnan Tamimi said in a press statement, “Today, joint security forces, backed by al-Hashd al-Shaabi carried out extensive search operations in the northern part of Hamrin Lake, and were able to discover four premises belonging to the Islamic State, as well as dismantling eight explosive devices.”

“One of the premises was attached to a 50-meter-long tunnel,” Tamimi explained.

“The operations were conducted based on accurate intelligence information,” he said. “The majority of premises included logistic materials, food, blankets and explosives,” Tamimi further added.

Europe
Louvre attacker refuses to speak to investigators
[OMANTRIBUNE] The machete-wielding attacker, who was shot by a soldier outside La Belle France’s Louvre museum, refused to answer Sherlocks on Sunday after being formally placed into custody at a hospital, a source at the Gay Paree prosecutor’s office said.

Abdullah Reda Al Hamahmy, an Egyptian, was shot several times on Friday after attacking soldiers as he cried "Allahu Akbar" in what French President Francois Hollande
...the Socialist president of La Belle France, an economic bad joke for la Belle France but seemingly a foreign policy realist...
described as a terrorist attack.

"The first interview took place this morning, but it turned out to be a short one. For the moment, he refuses to talk to Sherlocks," the source at the prosecutor’s office said.

Hamahmy’s father said it was "nonsense" to suggest his son was a terrorist, saying that the youngest of four children was a law graduate who had been working in the United Arab Emirates for about five years and was in Gay Paree on business.

The 29-year-old arrived in La Belle France on January 26 after obtaining a tourist visa in Dubai. Egyptian security officials have not said whether he had any known links to krazed killer groups.

Hours before the Louvre attack, an entry on Hamahmy’s Twitter account was posted reading:

The incident underlined the krazed killer threat facing La Belle France, which is still under a state of emergency as presidential elections loom following a series of attacks over the past two years that have killed more than 230 people.

Hamahmy’s father, Reda Al Refaai, in an interview on Saturday accused French officials of fabricating the allegations against his son to excuse the force used to stop him.

Asked if his son had shown any krazed killer tendencies, the retired police major general said: "If he had I would have thrown him out of the house."

French Sherlocks are hunting for clues to establish whether he acted alone, on impulse, or on orders from someone. He attacked troops checking bags near the museum’s shopping mall with a machete in each hand, wounding one soldier.

Hamahmy’s father said he last spoke to his son a few hours before the attack and that they had discussed what colour hat Hamahmy should buy to protect him against the cold weather of Gay Paree.

#2  They are not, despite what they call themselves, "scientists". A true scientist will archive his/her data set and make it available without reservations to other scientists for true study.
Posted by: Seeking cure for ignorance || 02/06/2017 3:28 Comments || Top||

#3  They are scientists in the same sense the "scientists" were that touted Aryan supremacy for the Nazis.
Posted by: DarthVader || 02/06/2017 8:46 Comments || Top||

#4  For research to be valid, the findings have to have "replicability" in that the data, analysis and findings must be so clearly presented that other researchers can take the same data and arrive at the same results...a long winded way of saying that I as a doctoral candidate cannot believe the findings were accepted without supporting research arriving at the same conclusions.

The fact that they sprang on a research project that was essentially a statistical outlier compared to other research is a significant red flag that the entire climate change circus is a fraud and a scam lining someone's pockets at the expense of jobs and economic growth.

Frantically copy/pasting? It's not like they are copying hardcopies are they?

#6  Can't they just make up new data, or re-adjust the old data?

Do any of these vaunted 'models' fit the Medieval Warming Period or the Little Ice Age? Any historical data?

How about the Pinatubo eruption? When they factored in the volcanic dust, did their models show cooling?

How much cleaner is the air of today compared to 1970? Because the reduced particulates should reflect less sunlight, adding to earth's temperatures.
Posted by: Bobby || 02/06/2017 13:01 Comments || Top||

#7  Seeking cure for ignorance overstates things. I can point you to several scientists who, though obligated to release their data 2 years after publication of the results, are convinced that there is just a little more refining of the analysis they need to do first. They're probably right--the experiment is gearing up to redo the calibration, and that may slightly effect the list of directions and energies we publish.
