Shocking! NFL Raiders 'Theme' Brothel to Open Near Vegas (Video)

#1  For as long as "experts" have pontificated about business, a staple of such advice has been the warning to avoid taking short term gain at the expense of long term harm. The NFL's modus operandi for the last several years has flown soundly in the face of such a warning, and the move to Vegas is no different.

Sure, they'll get a nice shiny stadium and some coin out of it.

The long term bill will be waiting for them, and the the meter will be running the entire time.

Congress expands 'unmasking' probe amid questions over Rice role (Opens to Video)
[FOX] The House and Senate intelligence committees are expanding their investigation into the so-called "unmasking" controversy, Fox News has learned, to examine whether other candidates or lawmakers beyond President Trump’s associates were affected.
At least one of these gentlemen need to find the unemployment line, possibly both.
Until now, the investigation focused on how the identities and communications of Trump transition members were collected by U.S. intelligence agencies and then revealed to, and disseminated among, high-ranking members of the Obama administration.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., now plans to audit files from the National Security Agency and White House to determine whether identities and conversations of presidential candidates -- or members of Congress -- also were swept up during NSA surveillance of foreign leaders. He also plans to review whether Obama’s National Security Council and White House counsel collected and distributed the intelligence for reasons unrelated to foreign intelligence.

"We will be performing an accounting of all unmasking for political purposes focused on the previous White House administration," a member of the committee told Fox News. "This is now a full-blown investigation."

Staffers on the Senate committee told Fox News they also have expanded their investigation into whether presidential candidates were unmasked and information was misused -- and what role former National Security Adviser Susan Rice, among others, played following reports that she requested Trump-affiliated names be unmasked.

I personally doubt we will see more than some trade slaps on the wrist OTOH, the media just doesn't understand how the CPC's fear of social unrest, and consequently concern for their own necks, means they will do what Trump wants to avoid trade sanctions.

Ain al-Hilweh saw two days of violence between Fatah and Bilal Badr’s fundamentalist Islamic group. What triggered clashes remains unknown.

...Fighting between Fatah and Bilal Badr’s forces broke out overnight on Saturday in the al-Fokani market, in Badr’s stronghold of al-Tayra. It intensified yesterday with mortar fire and machine guns.

In the early hours of today, Fatah forces occupied much of the area under Bilal Badr’s control, including his headquarters, but were unable to find him and his 50 diehard loyalists. Since the fighting broke out, a Fatah fighter died whilst ten others were wounded. Thick plumes of smoke could be seen rising into the sky from several damaged houses.

'Clean eating' is a ticking timebomb that puts young at risk of fractures
A cult of clean eating is a "ticking timebomb" that could leave young people with weak bones, the National Osteoporosis Society has warned.

Research by the charity shows that four in ten of those aged between 18 and 24 have tried such regimes, which are now coming under attack for cutting out major food groups, such as dairy.

The diets have become increasingly fashionable, and are associated with a number of celebrities, who have boasted how they have cut out gluten, dairy, grains and refined sugars.

But the charity said many of those following the trends had no idea that cutting out major food groups could jeopardise their long-term health, with bones still developing in early adulthood.
On the bright side, given my diet, my bones will probably look just fine if mankind survives long enough to dig them up in a few million years.
The craze has been associated with a number of celebrities - many of whom have now moved to disassociate themselves from such habits - as well as on social media.

Earlier this year London sisters Jasmine and Melissa Hemsley moved to distance themselves from "clean eating", saying their emphasis was on eating foods without additives, not on restriction.

But the charity’s survey of more than 2000 adults found 70 per cent of those aged between 18 and 35 are or have been on a diet, with those aged between 18 and 24 most likely to have tried "clean eating".

Dairy - a major source of calcium, which protects the bones - was one of the key food groups targeted.

In total more than 20 per cent of those such age had cut or severely restricted intake of milk or cheese.

This group were far more likely than older adults to be getting their information about health and diets from blogs, vlogs and other social media.

Experts said the trends were putting the generation at significant risk of developing osteoporosis - a condition that causes bones to become fragile and break easily - in later life.

Professor Susan Lanham-New, Clinical Advisor to the National Osteoporosis Society and Professor of Nutrition at the University of Surrey, says: "Diet in early adulthood is so important because by the time we get into our late twenties it is too late to reverse the damage caused by poor diet and nutrient deficiencies and the opportunity to build strong bones has passed."

Half of all women and one in five men develop osteoporosis after the age of 50. Broken bones, also known as fractures, caused by osteoporosis can be very painful and slow to recover from.

A poor diet for those in their teens and early twenties now could see a significant rise in the numbers of people suffering fractures and the complications associated with them in the future.

Professor Lanham-New said: "Without urgent action being taken to encourage young adults to incorporate all food groups into their diets and avoid particular ’clean eating’ regimes, we are facing a future where broken bones will become just the ’norm’.

"We know that osteoporosis is a painful and debilitating condition and young adults have just one chance to build strong bones and reduce their risk of developing severe problems in later life."

The charity is urging parents and grandparents to talk to young people about the risks from their diet.

The campaign, called ’A Message to My Younger Self’ is being led by wellbeing and beauty expert Liz Earle, who said she feared the pressures on her own daughters from social media.

She said: "When I was growing up, my meals weren’t photographed and shared on social media. The pressure young women are under to match what their idols on Instagram are eating is really high."

#3  It would seem like a solution looking for a problem. Today, so many foods are supplemented with calcium. It's doubtful calcium deficiency is a problem unless there is some underlying pathology. I'd think calcium deficiency would show up as metabolic deficiencies, hypertension, nerve transmission problems, muscle spasms, bruising, fatigue, and heart irregularities before it showed up as calcium loss in the bones.

Assman Johnnie's on his way back
[BBC] Former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has registered as a candidate in Iran's presidential election, despite being told not to by the Supreme Leader.

Mr Ahmadinejad, a hardliner who served two terms between 2005 and 2013, filed paperwork for the 19 May poll at the interior ministry in Tehran.

Last year, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned him that such a move was "not in his interest and that of the country".

But Mr Ahmadinejad told reporters on Tuesday that had been "just advice".

Associated Press journalists who witnessed Mr Ahmadinejad register on Tuesday said election officials were "stunned" when he submitted the paperwork.

Europe
‘Ban Cars to Stop Terror' Says Sweden's Best-Selling Newspaper After Stockholm Attack
[Breitbart] Cars and other vehicles "have turned into deadly weapons", and should be banished from cities to stop attacks like the one in Stockholm from happening in future, according to Aftonbladet editorialist Eva Franchell.
You should just ban mooslimbs instead. Stop lots of terror, rape, etc. that way.
Crackdowns on immigration or extremist ideology are not the way forward when it comes to terror prevention, according to the veteran journalist, writing after Friday’s terror attack in Stockholm left four people dead.

Instead, it is cars -- which she calls "effective murder machines" -- that Franchell says "must simply be removed from city centres and places where people gather, if people are to be protected in future".

Vehicles are "easy to steal, and so nothing has been able to stop their advance", writes Ms. Franchell.

"It just isn’t reasonable that a big truck can be driven right into one of Stockholm’s busiest streets on a Friday afternoon right before Easter."
All points sounds suspiciously like the anti-gun lobby in the US. Do they use the same crib notes?
Noting how it is a popular destination for tourists, Franchell says the city centre must be a "safe environment" for visitors to enjoy. She described it as "remarkable" that it is possible to drive around the Swedish capital's medieval old town.

Outlining her vision for a car-free Stockholm, she argues: "Most problems with regards to mobility and public transport can be solved, and deliveries to shops and restaurants could take place at times when people aren't out on the streets."

"Vehicles have been allowed to dominate our cities for decades and it's the people who need space. It's vital now that cars be regulated," the piece concludes.
So... cars aren't regulated in Sweden? You can just buy one without a license or registration and drive it around without laws?
The idea of reducing the number of cars in Swedish cities was backed last month by Sweden's environment minister, who argued that driving is a gender equality issue as well as a matter of shrinking the nation's carbon emissions.

"Cars are driven largely by men so by giving a lot of space to cars; we're giving a lot of space to men ‐ at the expense of women," Karolina Skog explained.
Gotta throw the sexism card as well.

Talk about the ultimate Stockholm syndrome. You people are under attack by invaders that want to kill, enslave and dominate you... and you propose banning cars. You idiots deserve this fate and you bring dishonor to your ancestors.

Driver wearing 'Hold my beer' shirt arrested for DUI
A man arrested for driving under the influence early Monday after an accident, had his mug shot taken while he was wearing a t-shirt that said "Hold my beer and watch this."

Connecticut State Police said around 1:20 a.m., troopers were called to a one car accident on Wilson Road in Putnam. Troopers said the car was traveling east on Wilson Road when it struck a stone wall.

Police said the vehicle was unregistered, uninsured and the registration plates on the car belonged to a different vehicle.

Harrison Wootton, 25, of Woodstock, was charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle, failure to have insurance, misuse of plates, failure to drive in the proper lane and operating under the influence of alcohol/drugs.

The Grand Turk
Political Manstaches
The prime minister has one. So does the culture minister. Even the previously clean-shaven ministers of economy and foreign affairs recently began sporting theirs.

Neatly-trimmed mustaches, similar to that worn by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, have become increasingly popular among government ministers from his Islamic-rooted Justice and Development Party, or AKP, ahead of a crucial referendum Sunday on expanding the president's powers.

Some analysts say that's no fluke in a country where facial hair has a history of political significance, and where ministers' loyalty to Erdogan is being closely scrutinized following a failed coup attempt last year.

"These days, when Turkey is fighting terror organizations — and in the aftermath of the coup — the mustaches provide a strong and stern image," said Mesut Sen, professor of Turkish studies at Istanbul's Marmara University.

Historically, men in Turkey have worn mustaches not only to assert their manhood but express their political leanings. Traditionally, nationalists wear their mustaches long and downward-pointing — like the crescent moon on the Turkish flag — while leftists tend to grow theirs bushy and Stalin-esque.

Jerry Brown's administration blocks public review of Oroville Dam records
Geee... wonder why?
[SacBee] Gov. Jerry Brown's administration is using federal security regulations written to thwart terrorism to deny public access to records that experts say could guide repairs to the Oroville Dam and provide insight into what led to the near catastrophic failure of its emergency spillway.
Uh huh... right... terrorism.
The administration also is blocking public review of records that would show how Brown's office handled the February crisis at Oroville Dam that led to the two-day evacuation of nearly 200,000 Northern Californians.
And there is the real reason as the office had its head up its ass
Days after the evacuation orders were lifted in February, The Sacramento Bee filed requests to the state under the California Public Records Act. In one request, the newspaper sought design specifications, federal inspection reports, technical documents, the results of rock sampling and other information. Outside engineers told The Bee such records would likely provide an accounting of what caused a gaping chasm to form in the dam's main concrete spillway on Feb. 7 and the near collapse of the dam's emergency spillway a few days later.

The Bee also sought internal communications and emails from Brown's office. Those records could show how Brown and his top staff members were coordinating the ongoing crisis with each other, with outside agencies and with members of the public.
I'm honestly surprised at someone in the press doing journalistic stuff instead of being a mouthpiece for the demoncrats
The administration denied the request for technical information about the dam and provided a limited response to the request for internal communications. Its secrecy has outraged state and federal lawmakers representing the people living below the dam, who frantically fled the area after officials warned of a "30-foot wall of water" cascading down the Feather River when the dam's emergency spillway nearly gave way on Feb. 12.

"This is very, very disturbing to me," said Assemblyman James Gallagher, R-Yuba City. "We just want transparency. We want to know what happened up there and why this happened in the first place."
Why? The government is corrupt and ignored warnings then fucked up the response until it was almost too late.
Oroville resident Beth Bello said the state owes it to residents to provide full disclosure of what happened. Bello's cellphone video of concrete debris and water blasting off the crumbling spillway in February went viral during the crisis. She said Tuesday she is far more concerned about state officials' inability to maintain their facilities than she was about terrorism.

"The terrorist issue is irrelevant – completely irrelevant – to what happened to the spillway and the damage to it," she said. "The structural integrity of it is much more of a threat than ever a terrorist, especially at this point in time."

In denying the request for information about the dam itself, Brown's Department of Water Resources cited provisions in state and federal law that allow government officials to block certain records because of security concerns.
And protect their asses from the voters.

That ramp was steep, and I'm betting it was a long time since some CA DWR civil servant really walked the actual ramp and looked at the condition of the concrete and inspected the terrain along the spillwY for signs of leaks and undercutting. The cost of the massive cleanup lies on that set of failures I'm betting. This is just ass covering by OES and DWR, I know many of the people and the mentality of senior management.

Author blames airline industry mergers for dodgy customer service
[Buzzfeed] If you've ever wondered why airlines in the US seem so terrible, from the cramped seats to the constant delays and the inexplicably bad responses to their customers being roughed up by goons, this graphic might help you understand the situation a little better.

Over the last decade or so, 11 big US domestic airlines have shrunk down to five extremely big ones, in a frenzy of takeovers and mergers. With less competition to worry about, airlines are now doing exactly what you'd expect them to do: spend less time worrying about how to keep their customers happy, and more time working out how to make more money.

It's not rocket science, and it's the same reason your cable company's customer service sucks so much. What are you going to to about it?

(It's also the same reason why restaurants tend to treat you pretty well.)

A few years back, inspectors at the Department of Transportation tried to figure out exactly how connected competition is to good airline service. They studied the delayed flights over a seven-year period beginning in 2005, and checked to see if delays increased as competition between airlines decreased.

The results look pretty much exactly like you expect they would. Here's a graph of the average delay time across all flights, and how it changes as competition goes from intense, on the left, to nonexistent, on the right -- things get rapidly worse as competition thins away, and then remain at a baseline level of terrible as the market moves toward a monopoly.

#1  Why I hate to fly. The airlines and their govmint overlords have ruined the airline industry for passengers. High-priced tickets and expensive add-on services to only be abused with herding mentality, oversold seats and often surly TSA screeners. It seems like there would be a good market for a private airline that circumvented all the BS, was secure and treated passengers with a little respect. It could be called Concierge Airlines.

#4  Eh, I flew a lot in the 1980s and the experience was pretty awful back then as well. From the moment airlines decided to be the Greyhound of the Skies it was destined to be a less than awesome experience.

The Concierge Airlines idea might actually be a good one as an alternative for those willing to pay for the privilege of being treated well and provided on-time flight service.

#5  Back in the 90s I read an article in Popular Science about the coming revolution in Air Travel. New navigation and fly by wire techniques were going to create a new generation of cheaper small planes that would allow direct flights between small airports instead of the hub system. Instead of planes acting like buses they would be more like limo-buses or limos. They mentioned that instead of buying tickets folks could be buying a time-share in a plane. Sounded pretty good.

I assume the tech didn't pay out or Sept 11 screwed it up (feds not wanting tons of little planes flying everywhere).

African migrants sold in Libya 'slave markets', IOM says
[BBC] Africans trying to reach Europe are being sold by their captors in "slave markets" in Libya, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) says.

Victims told IOM that after being detained by people smugglers or militia groups, they were taken to town squares or car parks to be sold.

Migrants with skills like painting or tiling would fetch higher prices, the head of the IOM in Libya told the BBC. Libya has been in chaos since the 2011 Nato-backed ousting of Muammar Gaddafi.

The Act Prohibiting Importation of Slaves of 1807 (2 Stat. 426, enacted March 2, 1807) is a United States federal law that stated that no new slaves were permitted to be imported into the United States. It took effect in 1808, the earliest date permitted by the United States Constitution. - wiki

And remember 'Free States' were, having already (some as early as British colonies) banned the practice, ahead of the world. The people who demand perfection of the past are today all too often imperfect themselves.

#8  Britain had outlawed slavery rather early on (circa 1100 or so, but that was mainly white slavery). Sale of slaves was not condoned in England. This soon changed to ownership of slaves without regard to where they were purchased. In the 1700's, people who bought slaves elsewhere (like in Russia) were told that as soon as their slaves hit British (then English) soil, that the slave was free. This led to a lot of consequential law-making. Most of the colonies in America were anti-slave, but not all. Quakers were early anti-slavery proponents in America. All this is from memory, sorry, might not be perfect.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
United CEO Oscar Munoz sez airline they had "to re-accommodate customers."
[Wash Times] There is something very "1984" in the words fluttering around over the strange case of a doctor being ripped from his seat aboard an airplane, pummeled into submission by three burly men and dragged -- quite literally -- bloody and screaming down the aisle and off the plane.

One word that has emerged is "re-accommodate." The passenger wasn’t dragged off the plane; he was "re-accommodated." Another is "overbooked." We’ve heard that word before, but really only from airlines, and we the sheeple just accept it as part of life. Yet another is "voluntary." And we have the Chicago police to thank for a brand new definition of "fell."

Let’s use them all in a couple of sentences. The airplane was "overbooked." The plane needed passengers to "volunteer" to get off. When one refused to leave "voluntarily," he was "re-accommodated." Then, when three husky men assaulted him, he "fell," smashed his face and poured blood as he was dragged down the aisle.

Or, as United said shortly after the incident: "Flight 3411 from Chicago to Louisville was overbooked. After our team looked for volunteers, one customer refused to leave the aircraft voluntarily and law enforcement was asked to come to the gate. We apologize for the overbook situation." Then United chief executive Oscar Munoz added that’s when they had "to re-accommodate these customers."

#7  It gets under-reported that the seats were all assigned before boarding, and then last minute decision to bump four passengers for a flight crew that needed to get to Louisville. #9  Once a legit ticket has been shown and the person has been allowed to be seated, there's no way in hell they can drag that person off the plane without looking badly. It makes matters worse when the excuse for doing so turns out to be that they wanted to give the seat to an airline employee.

I don't think the FAA rules allow that.

smarter to charter the crew to Louisville
Union contract may not allow that. Furthermore, it would not count towards their mandatory rest time before their next flight.

it is a four hour drive!
I'd have taken an offer of the cash and a free car rental, but I don't think that's allowed either.

#17  Alaska airlines treats us well. United Air Lines created a million enemies by dumping 4 rev passengers for 4 deadheading crew.

However the airline may have had a situation when another crew on another flight was timing out so they had to get someone else out there quick. So planning and scheduling is critical. Then delays and weather cause the schedule to tank. One way or another you have to get ahead of the scheduling limits. But always have to consider the customer. A delay on the other flight would be preferable than causing people to be thrown off the flight.

North Korean ships head home after China orders coal returned
[AlAhram] A fleet of North Korean cargo ships is heading home to the port of Nampo, the majority of it fully laden, after China ordered its trading companies to return coal from the isolated country, shipping data shows.

Following repeated missile tests that drew international criticism, China banned all imports of North Korean coal on Feb. 26, cutting off the country's most important export product.

To curb coal traffic between the two countries, China's customs department issued an official order on April 7 telling trading companies to return their North Korean coal cargoes, said three trading sources with direct knowledge of the order.

U.S. President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
and Chinese President Xi Jinping were discussing North Korea at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort on April 7.

Shipping data on Thomson Rooters Eikon, a financial information and analytics platform, shows a dozen cargo ships on their way to North Korea's main west coast port of Nampo, almost all carrying cargoes from China.

Chinese authorities did not respond to requests for official comment.

The Trump administration has been pressuring China to do more to rein in North Korea, which sends the vast majority of its exports to its giant neighbour across the Yellow Sea.

To make up for the shortfall from North Korea, China has ramped up imports from the United States in an unexpected boon for U.S. President Donald Trump, who has declared he wants to revive his country's struggling coal sector.

Eikon data shows no U.S. coking coal was exported to China between late 2014 and 2016, but shipments soared to over 400,000 tonnes by late February.

This trend was exacerbated after cyclone Debbie knocked out supplies from the world's top coking coal region in the Australia's state of Queensland, forcing Chinese steel makers to buy even more U.S. cargoes.

The other big coking coal supplier that has ramped up exports to China since the ban on North Korean cargoes is Russia.

Chittagong MP endorses killing of militants during raid
[Dhaka Tribune] A parliament member’s remarks on the role of law enforcement agencies to cap bad boy activities created such a row on Tuesday that a cabinet minister and the police chief had to step in to reiterate the administration’s counter-terrorism message.

MP Nezamuddin said: "We have the best law enforcement agencies in the world. Because, you first caught the snuffies and then you killed them. No other law enforcement agency anywhere in the world could have done it."

Chittagong-15 MP Dr Abu Reza Md Nezamuddin Nadwi made the remarks at a book launch organized by the Rapib Action Battalion at Lakeshore Hotel in Dhaka.

The book launched at the event was published by RAB aiming to de-radicalise people by explaining Koranic verses with the help of the Islamic Foundation and other scholars.

The MP’s remark was swiftly refuted by Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Haque who were in attendance as well.

Islamic State has executed hundreds of civilians and security members since it took over large areas in Iraq to proclaim a self-styled "Islamic Caliphate" in 2014.

In related news, local sources in Mosul said IS Lions of Islam have made children transfer explosive substances to places where vehicles are booby trapped in the western side of the city.

The children, according to the sources, were between 12-14 years old.

The sources added that the Lions of Islam believe that this way would distract the security troops from reaching to places where vehicles are booby-trapped.

PKK against referendum and Kurdistan independence
[Iraq News] The aim behind the presence of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) forces in Sinjar is to constitute barriers to hold the referendum for Kurdistan Region independence and affixing the district to Kurdistan Region.

Confidential sources told BasNews that PKK does whatever it takes to keep the situation in Sinjar as destabilized as possible to prevent the displaced people from returning to the area in order to secure its stay there.

PKK, according to local sources, has deployed a large number of additional forces in Sinjar mountain, in an attempt to render it a permanent military base.

The sources revealed that PKK has moved the local Yezidi forces to Qandil mountains and it has in return brought fighters from other parts of Kurdistan to Sinjar. This move came after hundreds of Yezidis left the party and joined the Peshmerga forces.

Sheikh Shamo, the representative of the Kurdish Yezidis in the Kurdistan Region Parliament, told BasNews that PKK is not only trying to impede the Kurdistan independence referendum, it is also precluding the IDPs from returning to their areas in Sinjar, explaining that their return is not in PKK’s favour.

"The referendum cannot be hold in this situation of Sinjar because from 400,000 people only 40,000 have returned home," said the official.

Shamo said PKK’s agenda in Sinjar is clear; it is against the Kurdistan independence and affixing Sinjar to the Kurdistan Region.

The official argued that if PKK steps out of Sinjar, the security and stability will be restored in the area.

Taher also pointed out to a notable increase in the movement of the Islamic State during the last week, where confrontations took place between the group’s turbans and al-Hashd al-Ashaeri in the sunni regions of Diyala, resulting in the killing of two IS members and wounding of two others.

Furthermore, the terrorist group kidnapped seven civilians in the last two weeks, where five of them were found dead, Taher added.

The FBI and the Justice Department obtained the warrant targeting Carter Page’s communications after convincing a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court judge that there was probable cause to believe Page was acting as an agent of a foreign power, in this case Russia, according to the officials.

This is the clearest evidence so far that the FBI had reason to believe during the 2016 presidential campaign that a Trump campaign adviser was in touch with Russian agents. Such contacts are now at the center of an investigation into whether the campaign coordinated with the Russian government to swing the election in Trump’s favor.

Page has not been accused of any crimes, and it is unclear whether the Justice Department might later seek charges against him or others in connection with Russia’s meddling in the 2016 presidential election. The counterintelligence investigation into Russian efforts to influence U.S. elections began in July, officials have said. Most such investigations don’t result in criminal charges.

#1  In January 2017 Page was under investigation by the FBI, CIA, NSA, ODNI, and FinCEN. Page has said that he has done nothing wrong.[21]

My guess is, if he'd done anything wrong we would have heard about it by now.

Russia killed 24 displaced people, including 16 children, mid March: Syrian Network
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] The Syrian Network for Human Rights accused Russia of killing 24 displaced people, including 16 children, from Aleppo when its warplanes struck a sheltering area in Idlib city on March 15.

The Britannia-based monitoring group said eye-witnesses and footage proved the Russia hit their shelter in rebel-held city of Idlib, leaving 24 people, including 16 children and 6 women, dead.

Idlib is one of the most important strongholds of rebels, including jihadist factions, who seek to overthrow Bashir al-Assad, whose air force, along with that of his ally Russia, has been heavily bombarding bandidos bad boys there.

The population of Idlib has been swelled by refugees including many of those who have left rebel-held enclaves elsewhere in the country after the army and its allies forced them to surrender.

A fellow monitoring group, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said Tuesday regime warplanes dropped barrel bombs on rebel-held areas of Hama province Tuesday, a day after the United States said their use could lead to further U.S. strikes in Syria.

holy warriors in Somalia and maimed many others.

KDF front man Colonel Joseph Owuor said the holy warriors were killed in an early Monday morning operation that saw KDF and Amisom forces attack an Asl-Shabaab camp 4km west of Catamaa, 104 km from the Kenya-Somalia border town of El Wak.

"KDF Amisom detachment from a nearby location engaged the forces of Evil using artillery and mortar fire and successfully destroyed the terrorists’ camp," said Colonel Owuor, adding that such operations will continue "until all the forces of Evil are eliminated to ensure that locals continue to enjoy peace and security."

The latest operation comes two days after another KDF/Amisom operation killed Al-Shabaab commander Bashe Nure Hassan and some of his lieutenants who were about to attack a Somalia National Army in the town of Kuday.

Demarko Anderson for alleged drug and weapons crimes. Police said while officers were responding to a report of shots fired, Anderson attempted to get away from them, according to WSYX. Anderson was eventually apprehended and handcuffed.

Laying on his stomach on a sidewalk, Anderson, a black man, was approached by Officer Zachary Rosen, a white man who forcefully stomped on the suspect's head. The action was caught on video by a nearby resident, who posted the footage to YouTube.

himself is getting involved in a special election in Kansas, as Republicans face an unexpectedly strong challenge for the House of Representatives seat vacated by Mike Pompeo when he became director of the CIA.

Republicans are running State Treasurer Ron Estes in Kansas’s 4th Congressional District, but internal polls show him barely ahead of Democrat James Thompson, the Kansas City Star reported.

"I’ve heard people whose opinions I respect tell me they think it would be single digits," Clay Barker, the executive director of the Kansas Republican Party, told the paper.

Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) stumped for Estes in Wichita on Monday, while Vice-President Mike Pence and even Trump himself recorded calls to Republican voters in the district, urging them to turn out and vote.

Europe
‘No transfers’ of asylum-seekers from Germany back to Hungary until it follows ‘EU norms’
[RT] Following the adoption of restrictive new immigration laws in Hungary last month, Germany has said it will no longer transfer asylum-seekers to the country unless Budapest guarantees they will be treated in compliance with EU regulations.

"In cases of Dublin transfers to Hungary, an assurance must be sought ensuring that the transferred person would be accommodated in accordance with EU norms. Without such a reassurance from the Hungarian authorities, the transfer should not take place," says the text of an order sent from the interior ministry to the migration office earlier this month.

It refers to the Dublin agreement, which stipulates that asylum-seekers should be returned to the EU country where they first registered.

It is unclear whether Hungary has provided any assurances, or how many migrants colonists would be affected by the order. Last year Germany sent back nearly 12,000 asylum-seekers in accordance with the Dublin agreement, almost 300 of them to Hungary.

Man on trial for child rape & triple murder jumps to death from courthouse balcony
[RT] A man has jumped to his death from an Ohio courthouse balcony just before standing trial for triple murder and the rape of a 10-year-old girl.

Robert Seman Jnr faced the death penalty if he was found guilty of the rape and murder of 10-year-old Corinne Gump and the murder of her grandparents Judy and William Schmidt, whose home he allegedly set on fire in March 2015.

However,
the difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits...
the 48-year-old plunged to his death after flinging himself from the fourth floor courthouse balcony ‐ just as he was about to enter the courtroom.

CCTV footage of the macabre incident released by Mahoning County Sheriff’s office shows Seman being escorted by coppers along a county courthouse corridor in Youngstown, Ohio.

Seman, dressed in a white shirt and khaki pants, was not wearing handcuffs at the time of the incident and managed to hurl himself over the balcony as cops belatedly scrambled to stop him.

Mahoning County Sheriff Jerry Greene told WKBN that the lack of handcuffs was standard procedure, "Due to the fact that the courts do not want individuals on trial to be seen with restraining devices on, or per se, in jug."

Seman’s attorney said the apparent suicide was completely unexpected as his client maintained his innocence.

Migrant communities hotbed of terrorism in Russia – FSB chief
[RT] Russia’s domestic fight against terrorism should focus on better border control and countering terrorist propaganda aimed at migrants living in the country, the head of the Federal Security Service (FSB) said.

“The analysis of our operative information shows that the core of the terrorist groups operating in Russia comprises citizens of former Soviet republics, who arrive amidst the flows of guest workers,” FSB chief Aleksandr Bortnikov reported Tuesday at a session of the National Antiterrorism Committee.

“The terrorists are actively recruiting from among the people of our neighboring countries, drawing them into joining militant forces in Syria and Iraq and then using them as executors for terrorist attacks in Russia,” he said.

“Last year alone 16 terrorist attacks were thwarted in Moscow, St, Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk, Ekaterinburg, Tula, Ufa, Sochi, Novosibirsk and Nizhny Novgorod,” he added.

Bortnikov was reporting a week after a suicide bombing in the St. Petersburg Metro killed 14 people, including the attacker, and left over 50 injured. The attack was the deadliest in Russia’s second-largest city in modern history.

The official said eight people suspected of being members of terrorist sleeper cells have been arrested during raids in connection with the bombing. All of them came to Russia from Central Asian countries, he said, adding that explosives and firearms were found by law enforcement officers during the raids.

The security chief said the bombing in St. Petersburg showed that Russian law enforcement must work harder to counter the threat of terrorism. He suggested that in addition to tougher border controls, Russia should look closer at migrants living in the country, particularly those arriving illegally.

Oregonians could vote to bring back duels for public officials
[Independent] People in Oregon might be surprised what they are being asked to vote for or against at the next state election.

Republicans have proposed to scrap the 172-year-old ban on duels for public officials in an attempt to highlight how many arcane laws are still upheld by the state constitution.

"They decided that it would not be very civil if two members of the legislature disagreed and then shot each other on the front steps of the provisional capitol," Republican Senator Brian Boquist said at the first committee hearing.

If his proposal, known as Senate Joint Resolution 44, passes both houses in the state Senate, the people of Oregon will have the final say, rather than the Governor.

Under the current constitution, Article II, Section 9 states that anyone who offers, accepts, or knowingly participates in a "challenge to fight a duel ... or who shall agree to go out of the State to fight a duel, shall be ineligible to any office of trust, or profit."

The rule came into effect in 1845, more than four decades after US Vice President Aaron Burr shot dead the first Treasury Secretary Alexander Hamilton after a bitter rivalry.

Nine dead in fierce fight against Abu Sayyaf
[Inquirer] At least nine people were killed on Tuesday in a firefight between Philippine troops and suspected Abu Sayyaf rebels in Bohol province, far from the terrorists' southern jungle bases in the region.

Five Abu Sayyaf rebels, three soldiers and a policeman were killed in the clash in the mountain village of Napo, Inabanga town. Chief of the Philippine National Police Ronald dela Rosa said troops and policemen attacked the rebels early Tuesday in Inabanga, where the gunmen had arrived aboard three fast boats.

The bandits entered Inabanga going upriver toward Napo on Monday night, Mayor Josephine Jumamoy said. She said residents of Napo reported the presence of the armed men to the police, who immediately sent security forces to the area.

Dela Rosa said the intruders took cover in three houses as the gun battle broke out. The firefight started early Tuesday morning and was still raging late in the afternoon. The Philippine Air Force joined the fray in the afternoon, dropping bombs on the gunmen's location.

The more than 60 rebels had either been forced out or killed in the two houses and the others were holed up and surrounded by government forces in the third house, Dela Rosa said.

Nate Silver Says Ossoff Is ‘Making Sh*t Up' in Fundraising Email
[Free Beacon] Political statistician Nate Silver said Monday that a fundraising email send by Jon Ossoff, the Democratic congressional candidate running in Georgia's sixth district, "was making shit up" about him.

The fundraising email sent out on Monday claimed that Silver said Ossoff must win Georgia's special election for Democrats to take back the House.

Silver, editor of the data website FiveThirtyEight, responded to a tweet that said Silver was back in the fundraising emails by declaring that Ossoff was "making shit up that .@NateSilver538 never said."
Clasping hands over the lower abdomen/crotch:

When a person finds himself in a position where he feels vulnerable but is required to display confidence and respect, he clasps his hands over the crotch or lower abdomen. By covering up the crotch or the lower abdomen, the person feels secure and confident. This is why this gesture is commonly confused with confidence. Confidence is the product of this gesture, not the cause.

#1  Ossof also has big eyes and a small chin and is it any coincidence that this picture shows him in the same frame with a black man and a Moslem woman in a Burqua ?

Ossoff is the kind of man who walks into a Forsyth County bar and orders a Shirley Temple and parks a Volvo. He has a LOT of Nancy Pelosi money to spend on Television political ads. He doesn't look, or sound, like he lives in Paulding County on the Alabama Line and owns a pickup with a redbone Hound in the back.

Trump Offers to Sweeten Trade Agreement if China Helps W/N.Korea
President Trump suggested on Tuesday that he could sweeten the terms of a trade agreement with China if Beijing assists in solving the North Korea "problem" -- but that the United States is prepared to move forward in the western Pacific without Chinese help.

"I explained to the President of China that a trade deal with the U.S. will be far better for them if they solve the North Korean problem!" Trump tweeted early Tuesday, three days after hosting Chinese President Xi Jinping at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

"North Korea is looking for trouble," Trump wrote. "If China decides to help, that would be great. If not, we will solve the problem without them! U.S.A."

Amnesty puts Iraq among world’s biggest executioners
[Iraq News] Amnesia Amnesty International has put Iraq among the world’s top five countries in terms of the rate of the application of capital punishments for 2016.
Iraq's a good idea in favor of capital punishment.
In a report released on Tuesday, the London-based organization said Iran, Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, Iraq and Pakistain joined China as world’s top five executioners.
I must be dumb. I don't understand why capital crimes don't rate capital punishment.
"Excluding China, 87% of all executions took place in just four countries ‐ Iran, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Pakistain," according to the organization.

Amnesty said 1,032 people were executed in 23 countries in 2016, a drop from 2015’s recorded count of 1,634 executions in 25 countries worldwide.

"The fall in executions worldwide is largely driven by drops in Iran (down 42% from at least 977 to at least 567) and Pakistain (73%, from 326 to 87)," the report said.

It said that Iraq was among countries where confessions before death sentences were extracted by force. "In many countries where people were sentenced to death or executed, the proceedings did not meet international fair trial standards. In some cases this included the extraction of ’confessions’ through torture or other ill-treatment, including in Bahrain, China, Iran, Iraq, North Korea and Saudi Arabia."

It said, however, that the executions rate dropped during 2016 in In the Middle East and North Africa by 28%, but Iran and Saudi Arabia remained among the top executioners.

Darth Bolton goes total Rantburg on North Korea
[Daily Caller] John Bolton told Fox News’ Shannon Bream Tuesday that the only "way to end North Korea’s nuclear weapons program is to end North Korea."

"I don’t think there is any point in negotiating with the North Koreans," the former U.N. ambassador stated. "They aren’t going to voluntarily give up their nuclear weapons program, they’re not going to voluntarily give up their ballistic missile program."

"I think there is only one alternative here, and that’s to put enough pressure on them to have the regime collapse," he continued. "The way to end North Korea’s nuclear weapons program is to end North Korea, I think, through reunification of the peninsula."

"That’s something we should be talking to the Chinese about," Bolton added. "It will be hard for the Chinese to accept, but they’re the ones who have said for many years they don’t want a nuclear North Korea. "

#7  There is not a lot of love lost between Korea and China. It is an Asian junior / senior relationship, a cultural thing that is largely unknown in the west. North Korea has been making noises that they are co-equals with China, which is a real slap at China. #10  I think Pudgy is on a one-way street: personal cessation. He cannot back down without losing face and self-respect, ergo, position. He might make a run for it. But who would take him? He is Hyman Roth cubed, and no one would believe the "retired [Head-of-State] on a pension" line. And outside NK he would be exposed to wet teams from any number of governments.

No, I'd say his goose is just about home-fried. I have to assume POTUS and Xi talked in those terms and about deconfliction. So the question now, really, is: how are Koreans going to reunite their peninsula? I have no idea. Carrier strike groups do have mission capabilities other than strikes.

And finally, a general observation: whereas previously (since, say, 1950) POTUSs have tolerated festering sores around the globe that have killed millions and cost trillions -- and employed thousands of goatee-scratching, drunken and lascivious pundit morons -- this POTUS, finally, appears willing to heal the sores so they are no more and also return the goatee-scratchers to the bottom of their cups and the solace of their sheets, where they came from and belong.

New Zealand awards grant to Bangladeshi scientist for regrowing teeth
[Dhaka Tribune] The project aims to develop a biometric system that could potentially trigger remineralisation and regrowth of dental tissues.

Bangladeshi scientist Dr Azam Ali has been awarded an explorer grant by the New Zealand government for his groundbreaking project on re-growing dental tissues.

The researcher’s "No drill, no fill" is one of 11 groundbreaking projects on health issues that have won $1.65 million in explorer grants from the Health Research Council, reports the New Zealand Herald.

Each explorer grant is worth $150,000 and provides seed support for cutting edge research at an early stage for up to 24 months.

According to the report, the project aims to develop a biometric system that could potentially trigger remineralisation and regrowth of dental tissues.

Dr Ali’s team will combine biomaterials like collagen with bioceramics, consisting largely of calcium phosphate.

The researcher told the New Zealand Herald: "We are planning to develop biomaterials which will be very, very compatible with dental tissue and offer a biological function.

"The biomaterials will mimic the cells and regenerate and produce new dental tissue."

Welcoming the study, New Zealand Health Minister Jonathan Coleman said: "Developing a technique to regrow teeth, for example, is an extraordinary concept and offers huge potential for people suffering from dental health problems.

"The government supports research that leads to improved health outcomes and more effective delivery of healthcare for New Zealanders."

Ali obtained his Bachelors and Masters in Chemistry from Jahangirnagar University in 1988 and 1991 respectively. In 2000, he obtained a PhD degree in Polymer Science and Engineering and Nanotechnology from the Universiti Sains, Malaysia.

Conviction of 2 Indonesians in 2003 airport blast
[RAPPLER] MANILA, Philippines ‐ The Court of Appeals (CA) upheld the murder conviction of two Indonesian bandidos bandidos bad boys involved in the bombing of the Awang Airport in Manguindanao in 2003.

In a March 30 ruling, the CA’s Former Special Sixteenth Division affirmed the decision issued by the Pasig City Regional Trial Court, which sentenced Zulkifli Julkifli alias Ahmad Faisal and Taufiq Rifqi, to reclusion perpetua or up to 40 years of imprisonment.

The two, members of the notorious Rajah Solaiman Movement (RSM), were found guilty of murder with double attempted murder for the bombing of the airport located in Barangay Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat in Maguindanao. The February 2003 incident killed Sgt. Nelson Corpuz and injured several others.

The RSM also worked with Jemaah Islamiyah and the Abu Sayyaf
...also known as al-Harakat al-Islamiyya, an Islamist terror group based in Jolo, Basilan and Zamboanga. Since its inception in the early 1990s, the group has carried out bombings, kidnappings, murders, head choppings, and extortion in their uniquely Islamic attempt to set up an independent Moslem province in the Philippines. Abu Sayyaf forces probably number less than 300 cadres. "The Court finds no compelling ground to disturb the factual findings of the RTC. As herein before pronounced, the rule is well-settled that factual findings of the trial court regarding the credibility of witnesses are accorded great weight and utmost respect given that trial courts have first hand observation of the witnesses’ demeanor while testifying in court," the CA said in a 23-page decision penned by Associate Justice Marie Christine Azcarraga-Jacob.

The appellate court also increase the moral damages due to the heirs of Corpuz from P50,000 to P75,000.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Jisr al-Shughour capture to secure the 'Alawite Canton'
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] The 'Alawite Canton' is no more than nightmare will come true since the Damascus officials aware that Bashir al-Assad will not be the 'lifetime President despite the Russian and Iranian support.

Coming back to almost 100-year-old draft of a state for Alawites, the poor sect of Shiite Islam. The six-year-old war and the recent statements by Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
's administration pushed the Assad regime to secure borders on the de facto state for Assad family in coastal region by powerful Russian military bases in Latakia and Tartus or by seeking to capture rich and strategic towns in the neighboring Idlib province.

Many procedures and steps have already been achieved, like founding the University of Tartus, enhancing the Airport of Hmaymim, added to control te whole countryside of Latakia after displacing most of its Sunni residents.

The Syrian regime aims to include the whole area Western of Orontes river within its canton, therefore it needs to control the countryside of Idlib reaching to the city of Jisr al-Shughour.

For months, the Syrian regime has worked on that goal, as it intensified the warplane bombing over the city of Idlib, reaching to around 150 air raid per months, added to targeting the infrastructure to force its people to leave, and it succeeded in displacing more than a quarter of its population.

Russian forces seems to support the Syrian regime it its plan, as the Russian warplanes help in bombing the town and prevent the rebels’ faction from liberating al-Akrad and Turkmen mountains.

Activists mentioned that regime is working on discontinuing the supply route and transportation between the Western countryside of Idlib that adjacent to Latakia countryside, and the city of Jisr al-Shughour by targeting the area with all kinds of weapons like barrels bombs, rockets, cluster bombs and napalm.

Military experts anticipated that regime aims to prepare the area of western countryside of Idlib to include it within the sectarian canton on the coastal area.

Mohammed Hamado, a lieutenant colonel and commander in the Free Syrian Army
... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund...
(FSA) confirmed that the regime aims to control the whole mountainous area overlooking al-Ghab Plain in the west in order to reduce the risk of rebels and prevent their advance to the coast.

"the regime aims to control the city of Jisr al-Shoghour, as it considered a geographic expansion of the countryside of Latakia and one of the most important entrance to the city from the East.

The city of Jir al-Shughour is situated in the North West of al-Ghab Plain, it has been for long known as a city of the opposition, as the Syrian regime had committed a massacre in the beginning of Eighties last century. And it was the city where the armed opposition was born.

Rebels liberated the city in April 2015, which put the main military camp in Jorin under the mercy of the rebels, which led to heavy festivities and battles in al-Ghab Plain.

Soros-Funded Group Chaired By Elizabeth Warren’s Daughter Fighting Voter Integrity Lawsuits
[FREEBEACON] An organization funded by liberal billionaire George Soros
...the secretive Hungarian born Ernst Stavro Blofeld-like billionaire who seems to fund every horrible progressive organization you can think of...
and chaired by Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren's daughter is fighting lawsuits brought forth by election integrity groups in a number of cities.

Demos, a New York City-based progressive public policy organization, is assisting unions in pushing back against election lawsuits filed in North Carolina and Florida. The group is also writing letters of interest in another lawsuit in Pennsylvania. Amelia Warren Tyagi, Warren's daughter, chairs the board of Demos.

The Public Interest Legal Foundation, an Indiana-based legal group that litigates to protect election integrity, filed a lawsuit against Wake County, N.C., on behalf of Voter Integrity Project NC, a research organization dedicated to fair elections, after the county had failed to accurately maintain their voter rolls.

The county also failed to provide records related to the maintenance of their voter rolls and possible noncitizen voting, as required by federal law.

"According to publicly-available data, Wake County has more registered voters on the rolls eligible to cast a ballot than it has citizens who are alive," PILF wrote. "The complaint states that ’voter rolls maintained by the Defendant for Wake County contain or have contained more registrants than eligible voting-age citizens. The number of registrants in Wake County, North Carolina has been over 100 percent of eligible voting-age citizens."

A motion to dismiss the lawsuit was filed February 21 by the Wake County Board of Elections and three attorneys. Senior U.S. Judge W. Earl Britt ruled in favor of the Voter Integrity Project and denied the request.

Cameron Bell, a legal fellow at Demos, is assisting the attorneys on the case. One of the main goals of Demos is to reduce the role of money in politics and to guarantee "the freedom to vote," according to its website. Demos received hundreds of thousands in funding from George Soros' Open Society Foundation.

Individuals from the Southern Coalition for Social Justice, a progressive nonprofit in North Carolina, are also assisting on the lawsuit. The Southern Coalition for Social Justice has also received funding from Soros.

PILF filed a separate lawsuit in Broward County, Fla., against Brenda Snipes, the county's supervisor of elections, for violations of federal roll maintenance. PILF brought the lawsuit forward on behalf of the American Civil Rights Union, an Alexandria, Va.-based legal group that has been described as the conservative ACLU.

Hunt for IS militant Mohamad Wanndy intensifies
[THESTAR.MY] KUALA LUMPUR: The hunt for notorious Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS) holy warrior Mohamad Wanndy Mohamad Jedi will be further intensified following his inclusion in the global terror watch list, says Comm Datuk Seri Mohamad Fuzi Harun.

The Bukit Aman Special Branch department director said the Royal Malaysia Police, especially the Counter Terrorism Division will work closely with their American counterparts in hunting Mohamad Wanndy.

"He (Mohamad Wanndy) has been the criminal mastermind behind several terror plots in Malaysia, including the bombing at the Movida nightclub.

"He has also been actively recruiting more Malaysian gunnies for IS. This inclusion in the global watch list will definitely boost efforts to hunt him down," he said yesterday.

While Mohamad Wanndy’s inclusion in the watch list by US authorities was welcomed, Comm Mohamad Fuzi said Bukit Aman had already placed him in its own wanted list for the past two years.

"We are aware of the crucial role Mohamad Wanndy has played in attempting to launch attacks on home soil despite being in Syria," he said.

"Currently, he is one of the most influential Malaysian gunnies in IS."

The Star reported last year that Mohamad Wanndy was high on Bukit Aman’s wanted list, having spearheaded more than three terror plots in Malaysia.

However,
it's easy to be generous with someone else's money...
the Counter Terrorism Division has been vigilant and alert in quelling his plans for terror attacks in the country.

Sources said that while Mohamad Wanndy was the "puppet master" behind terror activities in Malaysia, he had amassed at least RM100,000 within a short time to settle personal debts and cover his expenses in Syria.

"The holy warrior from Durian Tunggal is content with issuing orders for followers to execute attacks, including suicide kabooms, without getting his own hands dirty," a source said.

On a separate matter, Comm Mohamad Fuzi said actions taken against Siti Noor Aishah Atam, 30, was justified. She is in Kajang Prison after the Court of Appeal reversed her acquittal over charges of having 12 publications relating to terrorism.

She was a Kolej Universiti Insaniah (Kedah) graduate who was continuing her Masters in Islamic Studies at Universiti Malaya when she was tossed in the clink
Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'!
in March last year under Sosma for having books on Jemaah Islamiyah (JI), Islamic State (IS) and al-Qaeda.

On Sept 29 last year, she was acquitted by the Kuala Lumpur High Court but was re-arrested under the Prevention of Crime Act for allegedly importing IS flags into the country.

"We will not compromise against IS gunnies as well as sympathisers and supporters. We have enough credible evidence," Comm Mohamad Fuzi said.

"Safety and security is our priority," he said, in dismissing allegations by the Terengganu native’s family over miscarriage of justice in Siti Noor Aishah’s case.

"We also discovered that she was a student of wanted runaway holy warrior Dr Mahmud Ahmad, who has fled to southern Philippines.

"We won’t take such drastic action if the evidence is not sufficient," he said.

Alexandria bombing suspect was extradited from Kuwait to Egypt prior to attack: Kuwaiti newspaper
[AlAhram] One of the prime suspects in the Alexandria church bombing on Palm Sunday was extradited from Kuwait to Egypt prior to the attack at the request of Egyptian authorities, according to Kuwaiti newspaper al-Qabas on Monday.

The newspaper reported that, according to Kuwaiti security sources, the suspect entered Kuwait in 2016 and worked there as an accountant.

Kuwaiti intelligence then summoned him for questioning after receiving information from Egypt suggesting he had links to the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS) group, according to the article.

The suspect was then extradited to Egypt after Kuwaiti security services confirmed his links to the group.

However,
ars longa, vita brevis...
once in Egypt, the suspect was apparently released, for reasons that are unclear, the sources told al-Qabas.

The IS group grabbed credit for the two deadly blasts that hit Egypt's St George Cathedral in Tanta and St Mark's Cathedral in Alexandria on Palm Sunday, killing 44 and injuring dozens more during prayer services, naming the Alexandria jacket wallah as Aba Isaac al-Masry (Aba Isaac the Egyptian) and the Tanta suicide bomber as Aba al-Baraa al-Masry (Aba al-Baraa the Egyptian).

Upper Egypt's Minya Eparchy suspends Easter celebrations after Palm Sunday bombings

[AlAhram] Bishop Makarious of Minya and Abu Korkas in Upper Egypt announced on Tuesday the cancellation of this year's Easter celebrations in his diocese.

The announcement comes after two suicide kabooms hit St George Cathedral in Tanta and St Mark's Cathedral in Alexandria on Palm Sunday, killing 46 and injuring dozens in the deadliest attack on Copts in the country's recent memory.

The cancellation of celebrations will apply to all churches in the diocese "due to the current circumstances the country and the Church are witnessing," the bishop announced in a statement on the Eparchy's Facebook page.

"The Easter mass will be limited to prayers only," the statement said.

"We apologise that we will not be receiving felicitations from officials or regular citizens. The Eparchy also appreciates all the kind regards it has received from everybody."

Christians are set to celebrate Easter in masses across the country's churches on Saturday night.

group were killed in a firefight with government forces in Inabanga town in Bohol yesterday.

The government also had fatalities ‐ three soldiers and a policeman.

The Armed Forces said it was determining why the Abu Sayyaf is in Bohol, a known tourist destination, when it operates mainly in Sulu and Basilan
...Basilan is a rugged, jungle-covered island in the southern Philippines. It is a known stronghold of the Abu Sayyaf, bandidos, and maybe even orcs. Most people with any sense travel with armed escorts...
. Sources said the group was out to carry out kidnappings in areas frequented by tourists.

The incident occurred days before the second leg of ministerial meetings of members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations in Panglao Island in Bohol, scheduled April 19 to 22. The delegates are due to discuss trade and economic issues.

Lt. Col. Ericson Rosana, public affairs chief of the Army’s 3rd Infantry Division, said residents monitored the landing of gunnies aboard three pump boats on Monday night in Sitio Ilaya, Barangay Napo. Troops from the Army’s 47th Infantry Battalion and coppers were then deployed to the area. The troops caught up with the group at around 5 a.m., leading to the firefight.

Rosana said a military aircraft launched an air strike against the group that had occupied three concrete houses. They have been cornered in an isolated part of the town.

"They (Abu Sayyaf) are in a cordon area, the troops are waiting for an assault order," said Rosana, adding the enemy was still putting up resistance.

Rosana said soldiers have recovered five enemy bodies in the area, along with three M16 and one M14 rifles and an improvised bomb.

Aside from the three slain soldiers and a policeman, another soldier and another policeman were also injured in the fighting, he said.

US strike wiped out fifth of Assad air force: Pentagon
[DAWN] The US strike on a Syrian air base destroyed a fifth of the Damascus regime's remaining warplanes, Pentagon chief Jim Mattis said Monday as Washington fired a fresh salvo of warnings at Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Before going into the family business Pencilneck was an eye doctor. If he'd stuck with it he'd have had a good practice by now...
The public assessment of Friday's missile strike and the forceful rhetoric came as G7 ministers met in Italia to send a "clear and coordinated" message to Russia over its support for Damascus.

The United States on Friday blasted 59 Tomahawk missiles at the Shayrat air base near Homs, which the Pentagon said Assad's jets had used to launch a deadly chemical attack on rebel-held Idlib province.

"The United States will not passively stand by while Assad murders innocent people with chemical weapons, which are prohibited by international law and which were declared destroyed," Mattis said in a statement, noting that 20 per cent of Assad's "operational" aircraft were destroyed.

"The Syrian government would be ill-advised ever again to use chemical weapons," he added.

Mattis's warning came as White House front man Sean Spicer appeared to lower the threshold for new US action against Assad to include barrel bombs, a crude yet hugely destructive weapon of choice for the Syrian leader.

"If you gas a baby or drop a barrel bomb onto innocent people, you will see a response from" President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
, Spicer said.

But US officials later walked back Spicer's remarks.

"Nothing has changed in our posture," a senior administration official said.

"As the president has repeatedly made clear, he will not be telegraphing his military responses," the official said.

Trump discussed Syria during separate telephone calls Monday with British Prime Minister Theresa May and German Chancellor Angela Merkel
...current chancellor of Germany and the impetus behind Germany's remarkably ill-starred immigration program. Merkel used to be referred to by Germans as Mom...
May and Merkel "expressed support for the action of the United States and agreed with President Trump on the importance of holding Syrian President Bashir al-Assad accountable," the White House said in a statement.

Downing Street said Trump and May had "agreed that a window of opportunity now exists in which to persuade Russia that its alliance with Assad is no longer in its strategic interest." The two leaders were looking to US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson's trip to Moscow this week as an opportunity to lay the groundwork for a "lasting political settlement," May's office said.
